- 2:17www.worldwidesportsradio.com. I want to apologize to all the
- 2:23fans over the last couple of days.
- 2:25We lost cable here in Long Island, especially on my block.
- 2:28So we couldn't do the show in my studios.
- 2:31So we had to cancel the show on Monday to move it to Tuesday.
- 2:34But we have a, a, really a, just an absolutely uploaded pack of,
- 2:38of shows in the next two days. Because obviously there's so
- 2:42much that have gone on over the last couple of days in sports
- 2:45and over the weekend in sports. But All in all, it's been a
- 2:48crazy, crazy week of weather. It went from humidity and heat,
- 2:53really a heat wave to rainy and disgusting and now a cool day
- 2:57here in Long Island. It was about 70°.
- 3:00It had some wind and it it's been nice over the last, I would
- 3:03say 48 hours. It's been really, really,
- 3:05really, really nice. How are you, Jabba?
- 3:08How's the weather over there? I could see that you shaved your
- 3:09beard. You look clean cut so I guess
- 3:12that's a good sign. Yeah, no, it's been good here.
- 3:16Humid hopefully the last last day that it's super hot, it's
- 3:21been humid. It was I think the heat index
- 3:24today got to about 1:10. So yeah, it's still it's still
- 3:28nice and toasty here, but it should start cooling off here
- 3:31soon and have some have some decent, decent mornings for for
- 3:34my walks and my runs. So I'll take, I'll take the
- 3:37cooler mornings and, you know, walks with the puppy dog.
- 3:40There is no walks for me. I, I usually walk on the
- 3:43treadmill out there in the public eye.
- 3:46I don't want to be bothered with people every time I go outside
- 3:49and I, I walk around my blocks. I live in a cul-de-sac.
- 3:53Everybody bothers me and there are different people walking
- 3:56dogs. They know who I am and they,
- 3:58they start talking about sports. Even their wives actually talk
- 4:01to me about sports. As a matter of fact, before I
- 4:04came into the studio today, I was walking outside, walking up
- 4:07and down the streets because I was working on a business deal.
- 4:10And while I was doing that, I had somebody walk past me and
- 4:14ask me about this season and talk about The Jets and Giants
- 4:17game, the preseason game. I don't want to talk about The
- 4:20Jets and the Giants. It's preseason.
- 4:22But of course they wanted to know my take.
- 4:24I said, hey, I'm going inside the studios.
- 4:26I'm going to be talking about that in just a few moments.
- 4:29Go check this out, go to the and we know where to find Jarrell.
- 4:33So I just want to give a shout out to to the people that I saw
- 4:36on the street or around the corner.
- 4:40If if you're listening, I really appreciate you guys asking me
- 4:43what I thought about The Jets and Giants game.
- 4:45I'm sure you're going to hear my take.
- 4:47I know Giant fans are interested to hear what I have to say
- 4:49because the Giant fans should be excited and the Jet fans not too
- 4:53excited. But it, it's preseason game, you
- 4:55didn't really get a chance to see any other top defensive
- 4:58players or even some of the offensive players that The Jets
- 5:01provide or provide for the season when the season starts.
- 5:05So I, I'm interested to hear what the Giant fans thought
- 5:08about Dart. I thought, and I, I've, I've
- 5:11said Jackson Dart looks really, really good and Jet fans got a
- 5:14chance to see it in a preseason game.
- 5:16Who? And obviously the kids got a
- 5:18cannon for an arm and he has the legs of a deer.
- 5:22He doesn't actually you have legs of a deer, but he actually
- 5:24runs like a deer when he gets on the football field.
- 5:26So I, I enjoyed watching Jackson Dart.
- 5:29I'm actually becoming a Jackson Dart fan.
- 5:31I am not a Giant fan, but I like the kid.
- 5:33I like his personality. I like what he has to say and
- 5:37he's going to be an intriguing guy to watch for the next couple
- 5:39of years. If you're a Giant fan, you
- 5:40should be very, very excited. But just say Michigan football
- 5:44gets a heavy financial sanction from the NCAA.
- 5:48The University of Michigan football program was punished by
- 5:52the NCAA on Friday for their now infamous sign stealing scandal
- 5:57dating back to before their 2023 national championship.
- 6:02Michigan was hit with fines that could exceed to $35 million and
- 6:08are prohibited from communicating with recruits for
- 6:1214 weeks at the start of the recruiting process window.
- 6:17Former head coach Jim Harbaugh was given a 10 year show cause
- 6:21penalty while Connor Stallions, the assistant coach behind the
- 6:26sign stealing scheme, received an 8 year ban.
- 6:29Former assistant coach and Michigan quarterback Denard
- 6:32Robinson received a three-year ban.
- 6:35The NCAA added one game onto the current head coach.
- 6:39Sharon Moore's self-imposed 2 game suspension that will be
- 6:44served in the 2026 season. The NCAA stop short of giving
- 6:51Michigan any post season penalties as they didn't want to
- 6:56penalize players, saying financial penalties were more
- 7:00appropriate. Jim Harbaugh, now entering his
- 7:03second season with the LA Chargers as their head coach,
- 7:07refused to comment on the issue, simply simply saying not
- 7:12engaging when asked by reporters.
- 7:15You know, it's such an interesting story.
- 7:17I know a lot of people had an opportunity over the last couple
- 7:21of months and last year to talk about this scandal.
- 7:24And if you didn't check out the 3030 thirty for 30 on Netflix,
- 7:28Well, ladies and gentlemen, go check it out.
- 7:30It's, it's fantastic and, and very interesting documentary.
- 7:35I, I look at the thought of sign stealing over the last couple
- 7:39leave decades. It's been going on forever.
- 7:42And I know a lot of people sitting back and wondering, hey,
- 7:45you know what? Why were why was Michigan, one
- 7:49of very few teams that have been caught over the last couple of
- 7:52years, being punished the way they have been with their
- 7:56sanction? The fact is the NCAA wants to
- 7:59crop down and right now the fact that the Michigan Wolverines are
- 8:05one of the more popular college teams when it comes to college
- 8:09football. That is why the NCAA wanted to
- 8:11drop the hammer on them. Now, the sanctions are very,
- 8:14very interesting. It doesn't really hurt Jim
- 8:17Harbaugh just as much as it didn't hurt Pete Carroll when he
- 8:19decided to step away from you USC when winning back-to-back
- 8:23national championships and having Matt Leinart and and
- 8:27Reggie Bush who lost his Heisman Trophy.
- 8:30The fact here is that the NCAA obviously are trying to drop
- 8:35bones on the fact that all these coaches were involved with it.
- 8:39And obviously Connor Stallions was behind the whole thought of
- 8:43the process of hand signs and figuring out over hundreds of
- 8:47signs that were coming from the Michigan Wolverine side.
- 8:51And figuring out how teams were calling plays at certain aspects
- 8:54of the game where they can obviously be on top of a
- 8:58defensive player or be on top of an offensive play, which
- 9:01obviously gave them an advantage.
- 9:02But teams for years have been trying to find ways for
- 9:05advantages. I know everybody's going to sit
- 9:07here and say the Wolverines were wrong and they should have been
- 9:11penalized for every single thing they've done.
- 9:13And they're going to be, and they have been.
- 9:15The fact is it's, it's not fair to these other youngsters that
- 9:19are going to the school decide to go and play for Michigan,
- 9:21Michigan and be penalized for the situation in hand.
- 9:25Now, I, I look at obviously Jim Harbaugh.
- 9:28Guy's a very smart man. He comes from a very smart
- 9:30family. His father's very, very smart.
- 9:32His brother's very, very smart. His brother, obviously we all
- 9:35know who John Harbaugh is for the Baltimore Ravens.
- 9:38He's won obviously championships.
- 9:41And then you look at his father, Jim, Jim, who has been a part of
- 9:45The Wolverine organization and and program for a very, very,
- 9:48very long time. These are guys that are very
- 9:50well respected and professional football and college football.
- 9:54Denard Robertson is a guy that obviously is going to be looked
- 9:57at moving forward as a guy that you might not want to hire in in
- 10:01the future as a as a head coach or maybe as an offensive
- 10:04coordinator because of all the the different thoughts and
- 10:07scandals that they were behind with these hand signs.
- 10:09Connor Stallions is another guy who I feel bad for Connor
- 10:13because Connor really took the brunt of this whole story.
- 10:16He really did. Now he was asked to do this.
- 10:18This guy became a pro at figuring out and reading signs
- 10:22and, and, and a lot of people believe that Ohio State's
- 10:25coaching staff, and I'm not going to mention any names was
- 10:27behind it there. They were the team and that was
- 10:30the the program that was really trying to figure out who, how
- 10:34they were getting these signs and how they were stealing signs
- 10:36the way they were. But the fact is that the
- 10:40Michigan Wolverines are going to get the hammer and they're going
- 10:42to be taken very, very seriously when it comes to these
- 10:45allegations. Now I, I go back to these, all
- 10:49these punishments and, and looking at the fine, 35 million
- 10:51dollars, it's $35 million, a lot of money for this program.
- 10:54Not really this program when they go to ball games, they're
- 10:57making 10s of millions of dollars.
- 10:59If they go to 1 ball game in the next two or three years, that
- 11:03money is washed away. I also believe that this scandal
- 11:07is going to obviously open up options and thoughts that this
- 11:11is going to be taken away and this is this is obviously going
- 11:14to be look, people going to look past this because this has been
- 11:18going on forever and teams are doing this every single year.
- 11:21Michigan was the only team that was really caught by it.
- 11:24Now, I I don't think they're the only school and I I don't think
- 11:28this will be the last school in the next 20 years that are going
- 11:31to be caught with sign stealing. This has been again going on.
- 11:34This goes on in the NFL. We've seen this.
- 11:37We all know about the sign stealing the Spygate with the
- 11:40New England Patriots that was going on with the cameras and
- 11:44and again, going back to Bill Belichick, always everybody's
- 11:47trying to find one up on another coach, another program.
- 11:51So I, I understand why everybody is looking at this story and
- 11:54they're, they want to drop hammers on all these different
- 11:57coaches and, and programs on that, that they're getting
- 12:00caught and they're getting slammed and beaten up for over
- 12:03the last couple of months. I also think that Jim Harbaugh
- 12:06is one of the smartest coaches we've seen over the last 20
- 12:10years in college football. This guy is an aggressive coach,
- 12:14very, very old school. We see how he likes to run his
- 12:17offenses, run the ball first, build through the offensive line
- 12:21in the trench, which is that's what a lot of these older
- 12:24veteran coaches like to do. You ask Bill Belichick, you ask
- 12:27Bill Parcells, you ask any of the Gibbs, you ask any of these
- 12:30top coaches in in the NFL and even in college football, the
- 12:34old school football is always worked.
- 12:37Now you go back to obviously Jim Harbaugh and what Jim Harbaugh
- 12:40is as a head coach. We see he's very successful in
- 12:43the NFL and we've seen that his he's built his success in
- 12:46college football by building his program the exact way he built
- 12:51it when and he built it with San Francisco.
- 12:53I, I look at college football with the money, the NIL deals
- 12:57and the opportunity that these players have now in hand for
- 13:01themselves that these kids, these youngsters are going to
- 13:03have an opportunity to stay in college football a little bit
- 13:06longer. We talk about Arch Manning,
- 13:08we'll get into that a little bit later.
- 13:09A guy that thinks and, and believes that he is going to
- 13:13play another three years of college eligibility eligibility.
- 13:16So this is the thing now. There's so much money now being
- 13:20made through endorsements and sponsorships and NIL deals.
- 13:25There's an opportunity now that these kids have an opportunity
- 13:28to stay in their schools or respectable schools or go into
- 13:31the portal. And if they want to play for
- 13:32Georgia or they want to play for UCLA or USC, they're going to
- 13:35have the chance to do that. Now, I the problem here is, and
- 13:40you go back to the thought of all these different coaches that
- 13:43are being sanctioned from the list of coaches that were
- 13:46involved with it. What about the coaches and, and
- 13:50the names that have been brought up over the years?
- 13:53And the sanctions were that were dropped over the years with guys
- 13:56and, and programs like USCUSC and I, I, I can't come off the
- 14:01head on some of the other sanctions that we've seen over
- 14:03the years. There are other schools that
- 14:05were sanctioned very, very hard by the NCAAII don't really think
- 14:10that the NCAA, besides the money aspect, they're the IT really
- 14:15was sanction for the money. It wasn't sanction for this.
- 14:18The schools in the program going back, I don't believe that the
- 14:22penalty should be dropped on the youngsters that are going to
- 14:24play for Michigan. Nevertheless, we've seen this.
- 14:28How about the kids that went to USC after all the stuff that
- 14:31happened over there with Pete Carroll and, and that program, I
- 14:35mean, they lost their, their championships that they don't
- 14:38even exist still to the NCAA and their beliefs on what they
- 14:43obviously are pushing for. If you're, if you're going to
- 14:46cross the line and you're, you're going to do the things
- 14:48that are not written in the book, well, we're going to
- 14:51sanction you and we're going to obviously take away a lot of
- 14:54different things that you're going to offer to these students
- 14:56if they come to your schools. So that to me is the problem
- 15:00here, that to me, you have to look at the big picture and,
- 15:04and, and support what the NCAA is trying to do.
- 15:07But are you supporting what they're trying to drive out of
- 15:11the Michigan program as far as money is concerned?
- 15:13Because money is not an object. If you go to Texas, Texas A&M,
- 15:18some of the richest schools in the country, $35 million is
- 15:22drips and drafts to the program. Now Michigan, they're a very
- 15:26well known program, a program that's very well respected.
- 15:29They're practically in a ball game every single year they're
- 15:32going to be in that. That's twelve team tournament as
- 15:36soon as they get this this team to start moving in the proper
- 15:39direction now that Jim Harbaugh is gone, they're going to have
- 15:42opportunities to play in those ball games to play in those
- 15:45tournaments to get a chance to win a national championship.
- 15:48So I I don't know how $35 million is really a big cost to
- 15:54the program when you look at some of the schools that have
- 15:57been sanctioned over the years. And that's what bothers me about
- 16:00the NCAA. They decide to spin the wheel
- 16:02and make the deal with one team and one program and spin the
- 16:05wheel to make it with the the other.
- 16:06That to me is the problem right now with how they're sanctioning
- 16:11the Wolverines to all the other schools that have been caught
- 16:14with something. Remember the coaching scandal
- 16:16with the NCAA in basketball. Remember that scandal?
- 16:20What what happened to Arizona? Well, the coach lost his job and
- 16:23they were sanctioned. There was money being, you know,
- 16:26dropped under the table to players, hundreds of thousands
- 16:29of dollars, millions of dollars and and coaches have been
- 16:32getting away with it. I, I now Coach K never got
- 16:35caught, but you're going to tell me right now, Coach K was one of
- 16:38very few coaches that didn't really pay players under the
- 16:41table when the program wasn't as big as it is now.
- 16:44Come on, guys. The honest truth is when Coach K
- 16:47came in, he was trying to drive players to come and play for
- 16:51Duke, not because it's one of the best schools to go to when
- 16:53it comes to being a doctor or a lawyer.
- 16:56Nobody cares about this. These players aren't going to
- 16:58play four years of college basketball.
- 17:00They're most of these players are going to those schools and
- 17:03wanting to be coached by these coaches because they're the high
- 17:07prestige coaches that are going to get you to the next level.
- 17:10If they're going to get you to the NFL, the NBA, the NHL.
- 17:13That's why you're going to these schools.
- 17:15If you look at Dabo Sweeney right now and you go to Georgia
- 17:18or you go to USC, these are Lincoln Raleigh's one of the
- 17:22best known quarterback gurus in college football.
- 17:25So if you're a top end quarterback, where you going to
- 17:27go? You're going to go to USC and
- 17:29play for Lincoln Riley because he's going to give you the best
- 17:32chance to get to the NFL and be at the high levels.
- 17:36You talk about Georgia. What is the defense?
- 17:38What what is Georgia known for? They're known for their defense.
- 17:41Look at all the defensive players that have come out.
- 17:43You can ask the Philadelphia, yeah, the Eagles, as we call
- 17:47them, we call them that. What do we call them?
- 17:49Bulldogs? The Eagle Dogs as we call them
- 17:52they're they're built around the defensive side of the ball from
- 17:56the Georgia Bulldogs. So each school has their
- 17:59strengths and each school has their weaknesses.
- 18:02But again, when you're at a top program in SCC or an ACC, when
- 18:06it comes to college basketball, you have a best, you have the
- 18:08best chance to go to professional team or get into
- 18:12the draft in the first rounds or the second rounds where you're
- 18:14going to have a chance to make the most money.
- 18:16Yeah, it's interesting because this is one of the scandals.
- 18:18I think that you look at it more being performance enhancing than
- 18:21it is being a money thing or in the case of something like Penn
- 18:24State or Baylor, something that was a sexual thing that behind
- 18:28the scenes protecting the coaches.
- 18:29This is the first one that involved direct performance
- 18:31enhancing, their stealing signs in order to cheat type thing.
- 18:34And that's why I think Cherone Moore is going to probably still
- 18:36take a lot of this Braun. He's getting the two games and
- 18:39the one game next season so far. But that's as much as we know of
- 18:42for the time being. And who knows, because he was
- 18:44the one sending the text. What more they're going to
- 18:46uncover. I think what's going to hurt
- 18:48them more, even more than the money, I think is the program
- 18:51recruiting scheduling process. They're getting 14 weeks where
- 18:55they can't talk to recruits the same way these other Power Five
- 18:57teams can't. That kind of scheduling for a
- 19:00team that has to rely on like big name recruits, especially
- 19:02when Harbaugh was there, is going to hurt them a lot more.
- 19:05Especially in the Big 10 E, which you have Ohio State, you
- 19:08have Penn State in the mid Thai W.
- 19:10Now you have Oregon that was undefeated last year up until
- 19:12they played Ohio State. You have USC, like you were
- 19:14saying, that's going to get a lot of recruiting power.
- 19:16UCLA, that's going to get a lot of recruiting power.
- 19:18So they're going to be behind the curve in that region a lot
- 19:21more. And I think obviously the money
- 19:22will hurt, but I think that's the biggest thing that's going
- 19:24to hurt the most of all. That being said, I still think.
- 19:27I think Connor Stallions is getting the brunt of this.
- 19:29Connor Stallions is never going to be a coach again.
- 19:31He's never going to get an opportunity again after what
- 19:34Michigan did to them, and Michigan pushed him under the
- 19:36rug. They pretty much threw him to
- 19:38the dog, threw him to the wolves and said, you know what?
- 19:40We we washed our hands with Connor Stallions.
- 19:43Stallions is the one that took the brunt of this.
- 19:46Sharon, Sharon Moore is going to get another job.
- 19:48He's going to get another opportunity because he's a good
- 19:51coach. It it to me, the hammer was
- 19:54dropped on a guy that was asked to do what he is good at and
- 19:57that's reading signs and and watching other sidelines and.
- 20:00Using military technology and. Using military technology to get
- 20:04those signs in and figure out what those signs mean.
- 20:06I think that to me and I, I feel bad for Connor because Connor is
- 20:10the one that took the brunt of this, nobody else.
- 20:12You keep saying more, but it's not Sharon Moore that took the
- 20:15brunt of. It No, he's not he didn't take
- 20:16of it you. Just said that no, no, he.
- 20:17Didn't take it yet. He's going to later down the
- 20:20road, you would think. You don't think he's going to
- 20:21get another job? He can't under that rule.
- 20:23Yeah, for three years. But he's going to get another
- 20:26job because he's a good coach and he's he's quite capable of
- 20:29being a good coach in college football and maybe even the NFL.
- 20:32He can leave college football right now and Jim Harbaugh can
- 20:35give him a job. You think Jim Harbaugh is going
- 20:37to give Connor another job? Yeah.
- 20:39That's that's where I think. He's not.
- 20:41He's not going to do it. He he wants to forget that
- 20:44Connor Stallions even exists. You don't even want to mention
- 20:46Stallions name. I mean Sharon Moore actually
- 20:49talks. He he's been down over there
- 20:51with the Chargers organization during the preseason.
- 20:54I've heard that he's been down there at practices and stuff
- 20:57like that. So he's still connected to Jim
- 21:01Harbaugh. So you're going to tell me Jim
- 21:03Harbaugh is not going to take care of him?
- 21:04He's not going to look out for one of his coaches that he
- 21:06respects. No, Connor's the one that's
- 21:08taken the brunt of this. It's sad, but he's the one
- 21:11that's going to be S communicated or whatever that
- 21:14community, Connor, whatever the hell they call it, where he's
- 21:17never going to get another opportunity again to coach or
- 21:20even have an opportunity. And remember, he grew up a
- 21:22Michigan Wolverines fan. This is a kid that grew up, you
- 21:27know, repping the colors, repping the school, the program.
- 21:30And now all of a sudden this kid was thrown to the wolves because
- 21:33Jim Harbaugh said, you know what?
- 21:34I don't know this guy. I, I didn't tell him to do that.
- 21:36He did it himself. That's pretty much what he's
- 21:39saying. I had nothing to do with it.
- 21:41I knew something about it. You're the head coach.
- 21:44You're going to tell me you knew nothing about what Connor was
- 21:46doing. It said that they're trying to
- 21:49press on somebody and the first thing they're going to do is
- 21:51press on the one guy that can't protect himself, that can't go
- 21:55out there and speak to the public or the media.
- 21:57There are stories being written about him and obviously the ESPN
- 22:01are 30. Was it 30 for 30?
- 22:03Was the documentary that they did for him where they were
- 22:06trying? I think they were trying to to
- 22:08uncover what Jim Harbaugh and the program was doing and trying
- 22:11to protect Connor in some kind of way.
- 22:13And Connor just goes out there and he's protecting Jim Harbaugh
- 22:16because he he respects the coaching staff and he respects
- 22:19what The Wolverine program was giving him and the opportunities
- 22:22they were giving him. But now all of a sudden they're
- 22:26they're they're dropping the hammer on somebody.
- 22:28They're not dropping on the big coaches.
- 22:30They're dropping on the one guy that was asked to do something
- 22:33that he is obviously strong and understands a little bit more
- 22:37than those coaches do about it. And that's why I think this
- 22:39penalty is still kind of twofold too.
- 22:41Yeah, he's getting the he's getting the games.
- 22:43And I we talked about this last year, I think when it came to
- 22:45the the basketball with Dan Hurley, I think when they
- 22:48suspended him a little bit, but they didn't suspend him for the
- 22:50games that mattered. And they're getting they're
- 22:53suspending him three games that don't matter, like an early
- 22:55season game next year will probably be a non conference
- 22:57schedule. And the two games this year, I
- 22:58think are Central Michigan and sorry, Java in Nebraska, which
- 23:02hasn't been great with football in recent, obviously.
- 23:05So you're not really hurting them in a big way.
- 23:07I you still probably should have gotten him suspended later in
- 23:09the season for these bigger name conference teams.
- 23:11And maybe that would be the test for Michigan.
- 23:13Now, Michigan had overcome it the year they got suspended.
- 23:15They beat Penn State down the stretch, they beat Ohio State
- 23:17down the stretch. And obviously they won the
- 23:18national championship even with Harbaugh suspended at that time.
- 23:21But still, that type of punishment still makes it look
- 23:24light in a sense. It's called untold sign steal.
- 23:26And that's why. And that's why, as Fish was
- 23:28saying before, they still kept the postseason ban, post season
- 23:32ban lifted where they can still make the college football.
- 23:34I don't think they will, but. Not right now because you have a
- 23:37new coach, you have a new coaching staff and you got to
- 23:39recruit. And now they can't even recruit.
- 23:41They have a, they have to wait a certain amount of time before
- 23:44they can start recruiting top end, you know, prospects and,
- 23:47and top end for their program. So I, I think sitting here today
- 23:51and, and reading the story on you, everybody's trying to find
- 23:53stories because football is right around the corner.
- 23:56You have college football that starts in about a week and 1/2.
- 23:59So we'll get into that as we always do.
- 24:01And, and then basketball and and, and hockey are starting
- 24:05soon as well. There's a lot more to get into.
- 24:07But these stories are you're nitpicking.
- 24:09You're trying to find something to talk about because there's
- 24:12nothing leading into sports that really draws people.
- 24:16And this is a story that's been around for over the last past
- 24:19year. And everybody's trying to figure
- 24:21out the way the NCAA is going to drop the hammer on Michigan and
- 24:25what the Wolverines were doing. But it all stands behind what
- 24:29the success of the Wolverines and what Jim Harbaugh was doing
- 24:33for the program over the last couple years.
- 24:34He finally brings a championship home to a program that he just
- 24:38grew to love because he was a part of the program since he was
- 24:41a little kid, because of his father, his brother.
- 24:43And now you look at him going over there, he nothing happened
- 24:47to him. He got a lot of money.
- 24:48He he went to the LA Chargers making a ton of money.
- 24:51He's building the team that he wants.
- 24:53He's building the program that he wants over there with the
- 24:55Chargers. And he's got, yeah, he's got
- 24:57Justin Herbert as his head, his starting quarterback.
- 25:00And now you, you're looking at all these other guys that are
- 25:02taking the brunt of it because Jim Harbaugh saying, well, you
- 25:05know, I was at the coach, man, I don't know nothing about this.
- 25:07I don't know anything about this.
- 25:09What are you talking about? I'm Jim Harbaugh.
- 25:11I'm the greatest of all time. I'm I'm, I stand for what
- 25:14Wolverine football is all about. And that's cheating and winning.
- 25:17I mean, I, I mean, seriously, you sit here and and it bothers
- 25:21me. It bothers me because these
- 25:23coaches are taking the brunt out out of Jim Harbaugh's back end
- 25:28of his his situation and and the speculations are is that Jim
- 25:33Harbaugh was behind everything. He was the one that hired Connor
- 25:36Stallions. He was the one Connor Stallions
- 25:38was hanging out with him and his family at, at his house and,
- 25:42and, and, and speaking him about the program and, and what he
- 25:46sees the program in the future and, and promising Connor a
- 25:49coaching job in the future on the staff when he was sitting
- 25:53there being the, the GOAT of everything.
- 25:55And I'm, I'm not talking about the greatest of all time, the
- 25:57goat of the, the sheep of, of the program because yeah, he is
- 26:02falling on the sword. Yes, he's drowning right now.
- 26:04And he's wondering if he's going to ever get another job or if
- 26:07anybody's going to look at him as, as As for real as a as a guy
- 26:11that you could bring to your program and expect that he is
- 26:14going to do a good job besides stealing signs or doing
- 26:17something illegal for that program.
- 26:21No, I, I think it's when you look at there's going to be a
- 26:24fall guy. We talked about the fall guy of,
- 26:26of all there's, there's got to be somebody and it's, you know,
- 26:29they, it's interesting to me when you know, you read what
- 26:32Urban Meyer said and you read about NCAA dropping the hammer,
- 26:35it it's interesting if the hammers only dropped on the
- 26:38successful team. So you're telling me some of the
- 26:40teams that aren't as successful aren't doing the same thing And
- 26:43it just, it comes to the forefront because they are
- 26:46actually winning and, and, you know, trying to find every
- 26:50advantage you can, legal or not legal, right.
- 26:54And, you know, I could, I could point to every school, and I
- 26:57know this for a fact because I have friends that, that coach
- 27:01that there's some schools that they're at that they're not
- 27:04winning and doing the same thing.
- 27:06So it's, it's how do you handle it?
- 27:10How are you going to be able to? Because if you really look into
- 27:14it, you don't have enough time to go through all of these
- 27:18programs. Let's just, you don't like,
- 27:21there's no way to be able to try to judicate all of these teams
- 27:27and programs because it's just fiscally not apprehensive to be
- 27:33able to do anything, right? Like can can you send this group
- 27:36of four or five guys like say, send us like our group of eight
- 27:40people, OK, we have to go here. There's not enough time.
- 27:43There's not enough days. There's not enough hours like
- 27:46and so it's it's do you attack the big fish to catch?
- 27:50Are are you, are you fishing with minnows to try to catch the
- 27:53shark? Are you trying to play with the
- 27:56shark so the minnows don't become the shark?
- 27:58I'm not playing with any shark, I'm staying a hell.
- 28:00Away from the water, I'm not either.
- 28:01Yeah. I'm not getting in the water
- 28:03with the shark. I would I would like to do like
- 28:06when they're you're. In I'm a Guppy to a Shark.
- 28:09Yeah, yeah. I mean, I don't want to be
- 28:11bleeding. I know.
- 28:12That well, if you're in the water with those things.
- 28:14Interesting when these things, when these things come out, when
- 28:17it's a successful program, right And they they find a way to, you
- 28:23know, figure out what legally they're doing and to just I
- 28:30guess corner one school and make an example of it like I said,
- 28:35and not get the other one to do the same thing.
- 28:38I guess when in all reality, they're all doing the same thing
- 28:41in some way, shape or form. And there's going to have to be
- 28:44a fall guy. And it's usually not a guy this
- 28:48militating old thing. It's, it's somebody that's, you
- 28:50know, you're going to, you're going to step on the grenade.
- 28:52It's like you're going out with your boys and they got one ugly
- 28:55friend. Somebody's got to step on it,
- 28:56right? Oh God, there's a are you going
- 28:59to get into this Jersey Shore crap?
- 29:00Please. No, he's not Sean Smith.
- 29:02Please. Oh, I didn't even.
- 29:04I didn't even think. About it, you just brought up
- 29:06grenades and garbage. I mean dropping bows I.
- 29:10Just wouldn't go to the. Sun Literally, that's what we
- 29:13did in Lincoln, NE I. Didn't.
- 29:14Oh please, I didn't even think. About.
- 29:16That please Java you are doing that.
- 29:17There's a group of ugly friends that are Grenade, obviously.
- 29:20There's no doubt there's grenades out there, I just want
- 29:22to stay the hell away from them. But that's the honest God truth.
- 29:26Hey, but you, you always have that buddy that's like, you know
- 29:28what? I'm a ride or die with you.
- 29:30Boy, oh, there are guys out there.
- 29:32That James Jensen shout out James Jensen.
- 29:35He's married with kids now, but they like.
- 29:36Big chicks, big chicks. My friends always say big chicks
- 29:40need loving too baby, but Ryan Day was the one I think Bully I
- 29:44believe started this whole story.
- 29:45I think Ryan Day was the one behind this.
- 29:48He was the one that was upset about the the years and years of
- 29:52just absolute dominance of the Wolverines and them demolishing
- 29:56Ohio State until the last year. And then you can see the
- 30:00difference right now of Ryan Day, right where where is Ohio
- 30:03State right now when it comes to the rankings?
- 30:06They're right on top going into the season in the top five right
- 30:10now. And and you look at Michigan,
- 30:11they're not even anywhere close to the top 20.
- 30:14So that to me tells me about who Ryan Day is.
- 30:18He was was trying to press he found a a scapegoat.
- 30:21He knew that and it wasn't somebody ratted to Ryan Day.
- 30:25Somebody told Ryan day. Now somebody a part of the
- 30:29Wolverines sidelines went to Ryan Day, has a connection with
- 30:32Ryan Day and went to him and told told him that this was
- 30:36going on and he knew about Connor Stallions because why was
- 30:40it? After they played Ohio State,
- 30:42this story started to grow even more legs because Ryan Day was
- 30:46behind it and everybody knows it.
- 30:48So it to me the the thought of Ryan Day and Ohio State Buckeyes
- 30:53trying to find a way to get the Wolverines or push the
- 30:56Wolverines out of sanctions where they don't have a chance
- 31:00to beat them again or recruit the right players to beat them
- 31:03tells me one thing about Ryan Day.
- 31:05Do I trust Ryan day now Jim Harbaugh was wrong, OK, he's
- 31:09wrong for cheating, but he's not the only guy that cheats and
- 31:12college football, he's not the only one that cheats in every
- 31:16single sport. Everybody's trying to find an
- 31:19advantage that they can jump over the other team or the other
- 31:22program or the other school. That's the way it works.
- 31:25That's professional sports, that's college sports.
- 31:28That's one person thinking that they can beat somebody in
- 31:32another way or another optional way where they can dominate.
- 31:35That's just the facts. And unfortunately, that's where
- 31:39the hammer was dropped on the Wolverines.
- 31:41And that again goes back to the program.
- 31:44Is the program doing the right thing when it comes to charging
- 31:49just the school and not charging certain players for what they
- 31:54were part of? Now with this, why aren't some
- 31:57of these players that came from the school being charged for
- 31:59anything that they knew of? They're not.
- 32:02Now that's the whole. That's what I'm saying.
- 32:03Weird. Urban Meyer came out and Java,
- 32:06you mentioned it. Urban Meyer said when I was
- 32:09coaching, they suspended my players for doing nothing wrong
- 32:12and just because they knew we were up this stuff, which of
- 32:15course Urban Meyer was, but at the same time they used to drop,
- 32:18they dropped a hammer on him every time They got this next to
- 32:21nothing in Michigan. Look, they're not going to be a
- 32:23national championship team, but let me ask you a question if you
- 32:28with whatever your favorite team is in whatever.
- 32:30State the Seminoles. So for Florida State, if you
- 32:34were told, if I tell you you can get the Florida State Seminoles
- 32:38a national championship, all you have to do is cheat for them,
- 32:42would you do it? No, because that's that's what
- 32:44Connor Stallions did. He just it's his favorite team
- 32:48obsessed. If you watch the documentary
- 32:50like we both he. Was asked to do it.
- 32:51He was. Just an obsessive Michigan fan
- 32:54and they painted him in a more positive light than this.
- 32:56Then this NCAA report is facing him.
- 32:59He's got an 8 year show cause ban.
- 33:01He don't care. He won his team a national
- 33:03championship and they're not going to take it away.
- 33:06It's official. They're not going to take it
- 33:07away. They're not going back.
- 33:09They're just charging them. Need a fine equal to what they
- 33:12would have made on that championship.
- 33:14Run fish. Here's the problem.
- 33:15Here's the problem. That kid is never going to get
- 33:18another job again. It wasn't worth it.
- 33:21I I know he doesn't. Carry a coach.
- 33:22He's trying to win. He wanted to be a part of that
- 33:25coaching staff. As a matter of fact, Jim
- 33:27Harbaugh told him that. Keep doing what you're doing.
- 33:30You're going to get an opportunity in the future to
- 33:32come and work for me and be a part of that coaching staff.
- 33:34And that's why he was doing, yes, he was helping his alma
- 33:37mater and, and, and, and a program that he just grew up
- 33:40loving more than any, any sport, any college professional team.
- 33:45He followed the Wolverines, but again, going back to Connor
- 33:49Stallions, he was the one that everything was dropped on.
- 33:52It was in nobody else. Jim Harbaugh is making, what, 10
- 33:55million a year right now with the Chargers, might win a Super
- 33:58Bowl in the future or just won a national championship.
- 34:01He's gonna get a ring. I mean, you see here today and
- 34:04you're wondering who's right and who's wrong on this.
- 34:06Here's who's wrong. It's the coaching staff behind
- 34:09it. And we talk about more.
- 34:11More was I heard, now this is what I heard.
- 34:14More was over there at the Chargers camp with Jim Harbaugh
- 34:18so it obviously it's being brushed on the rug by Harbaugh
- 34:22and and when he everybody brings up counter stallions to Jim
- 34:25Harbaugh. I knew nothing about it, I.
- 34:27I barely know the chord. For him.
- 34:29But if if Harbaugh's doing it and you're under him, like, do
- 34:33they really have a leg to stand? Are you going to stand up to him
- 34:35and be like no? Well, it's Jim Harbaugh.
- 34:37I mean, I'm not. No, I you're absolutely right.
- 34:40Jabba, go. You can look at the Yankees
- 34:42right now. Who's going to be the bottom
- 34:44feeder of that team right now? Aaron Boone's going to be the
- 34:47hammer dropper. Somebody needs to drop on a
- 34:49sword. They're going to drop Aaron
- 34:50Boone on the sword. Why?
- 34:52Because he's like, he's the coach, he's the manager.
- 34:54It's not going to be Brian Cashman.
- 34:56Oh, no, no, no. It can't be little old Brian
- 34:59Cashman in Oh no, after 30 some odd years of winning seasons for
- 35:04the New York Yankees and being a part of George Steinbrenner
- 35:07score of, you know, management and executives, No, it's not his
- 35:11fault. It's not Levine's fault.
- 35:12No, it can't be him. It can't be house fault.
- 35:15They're going to blame it on one Uno, the Mr. Uno himself, Mr.
- 35:20Numero Uno. And that is the one and only
- 35:23Aaron Boone. And it's a shame that's what
- 35:25happens. But in college football, it
- 35:27never. Nobody drops the hammer on the
- 35:29coach unless the coach gets caught, like, seriously gets
- 35:32coached like the Arizona coach did when it came to college
- 35:35basketball. Yeah, he was the only one.
- 35:37How many people you're going to tell me what Roy Williams was
- 35:40never paying people under, under the, you know, under the table.
- 35:44Now they were just giving him a. Modify North Carolina.
- 35:46When he went to North Carolina to win a national championship,
- 35:49you don't think he was paying guys under the table?
- 35:50Come on, Coach K Love you, man. Love the Duke Blue Devils.
- 35:54You're telling me that Coach K never did that to recruit the
- 35:57right players? I know there's no proof to it
- 35:59and I can't point fingers to it, but let's be honest, guys, we
- 36:02all know it to be true. All these coaches are behind all
- 36:06these scandals. Everybody talks to everybody.
- 36:08You don't think these coaches are going to these these
- 36:10meetings they're going to like who are you recruiting?
- 36:15Good point. Though Errol, you brought up a
- 36:17good point and I think this goes hand in hand with it when you
- 36:20were talking about blue chips. Yeah.
- 36:21What did he not want to do at first?
- 36:23No, he didn't want to pay these. He wanted nothing to do with it.
- 36:28That's why I think this is a very it's it's a great segue
- 36:31into what you're saying. And you brought it up and and
- 36:33now that this happened, I think was awesome where it's then he
- 36:36realized that it was literally like one of those things where
- 36:41he had to he had to do it at that point.
- 36:44And it's like do it like he wanted no part, didn't want to
- 36:46know whatever. Then all of a sudden now it's
- 36:49like, well, shit, now we got to do it because now we got to keep
- 36:53up with the Joneses and he's like, just don't tell me.
- 36:55And then all of a sudden, so I, I think it's, it's a great
- 36:57point. I think they go hand in hand
- 36:59because it's like you see what they're doing it And yes, can
- 37:01you do some, get caught, Yes. But really, is it going on?
- 37:06He wouldn't and choppy, choppy you, even in blue chips.
- 37:10He would have never been caught if he didn't open his mouth at
- 37:13the press conference. And he felt sorry because his
- 37:16wife, his ex-wife came up to him and she knew that he cheated.
- 37:19And that's what made him feel even worse, that everybody knew
- 37:23he was a straight shooter. And then he went under the table
- 37:26to pay these guys for cars. He gave Shaquille O'Neal a car.
- 37:31He didn't even ask for it. And then this other guy, a
- 37:34tractor and this other guy, his mother, a house that
- 37:37unfortunately, that's the way it's played.
- 37:40It's been built, played like that forever.
- 37:42And now you're looking at it. And now NIL deals are out and
- 37:45they're and they're trying to figure out ways to sanction
- 37:48these teams in these these programs.
- 37:50It's a joke. The person that should have been
- 37:52sanctioned is the same person that was behind the scammer from
- 37:55the beginning. And that's Jim horrible.
- 37:58You wanted to drop the hammer on somebody, drop the drop the
- 38:01hammer on the guy behind the whole scandal, the guy.
- 38:04But Bill Belichick, you're going to tell me right now Bill
- 38:06Belichick knew nothing about, you know, Spy, Spygate and all
- 38:10that other stuff. Of course he knew about it.
- 38:13He was behind. It Deflategate.
- 38:15No, no, it was by no, I'm talking about Spygate.
- 38:16That was the that was the one that really shot him in the ass.
- 38:20Because why? The tapes were never seen by the
- 38:22public. Nobody saw those tapes because
- 38:25they got rid of it and the NFL helped them get rid of it.
- 38:28And then Goodell came out and said, well, it wasn't important.
- 38:30There was nothing on it really to be seen.
- 38:32We we saw for what it was. They cheated.
- 38:34They're going to lose a draft pick and they're going to have
- 38:36to give us 250K or whatever the hell they gave them not a lot of
- 38:39money and they really lose much of anything.
- 38:42They won two Super Bowls because of it and one against the Rams.
- 38:45They had no business being in so with a rookie quarterback.
- 38:49So I'm just, I, I sit here today and I wonder, is the NCAA doing
- 38:54the right thing? Are they looking past what has
- 38:57been going on forever and trying to say, well, you know what?
- 39:01It's not really that bad anymore.
- 39:03Everybody's doing it. So what we'll do is we'll,
- 39:06we'll, we'll, we'll get $35 million from them.
- 39:09We can put it in our own pockets.
- 39:11We have a table of guys that could use $1,000,000, two,
- 39:14$3,000,000 each. Really, Are you kidding me?
- 39:18And you know what we'll do? We'll let them get away with it.
- 39:20The kids don't get away. The kids are going to get a
- 39:22ring. The school's still going to get
- 39:24their trophy and everybody is going to be looked at.
- 39:26Oh, who won the championship in 2023?
- 39:29Oh, that's right. The Wolverines.
- 39:31Oh, they cheated Hex on it. Hey, if that's to happen, if
- 39:34that's to happen, the MLB should allow Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens
- 39:39and all the guys that did steroids into the Hall of Fame.
- 39:43Because to me, without those team, those those players and
- 39:47what they did for baseball in the late 90s and early 2000s,
- 39:51baseball would have been garbage.
- 39:53It would have been gone. That's the way baseball was
- 39:55moving thing after that strike and guys like Mark McGuire,
- 39:59Sammy soccer, that was Sammy soccer is good without steroids.
- 40:02No, Mark McGuire was Barry Bonds was, Rodger Clemens was Andy
- 40:07Pettit was I mean, come on guys, Cam Kenny Caminiti wasn't.
- 40:12But I mean, that's all that's a whole nother story.
- 40:14I mean seriously. But I what I'm saying is,
- 40:17everybody finds an edge. In every program, every sport,
- 40:23college to professional, everybody's trying to find
- 40:26something to give themselves an advantage.
- 40:29Is it wrong? No.
- 40:30If it's not in the book or it's in the book, if you find a way
- 40:33to get away with it, who cares? That to me, ladies and
- 40:36gentlemen, is the problem, not only with college sports, but
- 40:39professional sports and the people behind it, the coaches,
- 40:43the leaders of men are the ones that should be dropped, and the
- 40:48hammer should be dropped on them.
- 40:49They should be riding the sword up their rear ends.
- 40:52That's what I think. The sword should be shoved up
- 40:54their asses and twisted six or seven times.
- 40:57And you know, maybe they'll regret it after that.
- 40:59Maybe I'll lose their a hole. I don't know.
- 41:01Something's going to have more blood, a lot more blood.
- 41:04Then we'll feed them to the sharks because then they'll be
- 41:07juicy enough for the sharks to eat.
- 41:09That's all I'm saying. That's the way I go.
- 41:11I'm not going after. That's against, like the 8th
- 41:14Amendment, cruel and unusual. Well, I guess I won't be a
- 41:17leader or I won't be the president of United States,
- 41:18because I'll find every way to drop the hammer on somebody.
- 41:23Well, look, Stallion, Delicious going to find work.
- 41:25It's not going to be in coaching.
- 41:27I'm going to move for some state.
- 41:28He was. The logistics officer for the in
- 41:30the Marines before this. So what thing about like the
- 41:34types of jobs and logistics, He's going to go to an
- 41:37interview. He's like, yeah, I can't coach
- 41:39anymore, but I was so good at logistics that I won my favorite
- 41:43team a national championship. You ever want to do something
- 41:46like that? Well, whatever we're playing, I
- 41:48can do that for you. Hire me, give me a 7 figure
- 41:51contract and that dude's just going to be fine.
- 41:53I know he's going to be fine. He's brilliant.
- 41:55It's unbelievable he got caught Errol because they found him on
- 41:58film on the opposite sideline during a game and or just for
- 42:04scouting. Like I think it was either
- 42:05Michigan State or of Speedy, I don't remember.
- 42:07Exactly. I think it was Michigan State.
- 42:09Michigan State was Green Jersey was, yeah, Michigan State was
- 42:11one of those scout schools that was that was caught later.
- 42:14I think the other one. I think the other one was.
- 42:16Like the Bobby Valentine, those glasses in those costume on
- 42:21basically on the opponent's sidelines.
- 42:23It's a little too brazen if he stopped.
- 42:25I liked that one of that crazy. It wouldn't be good.
- 42:27Brazen would brazen. He probably would have been fine
- 42:29if he stopped a little short of what he was doing.
- 42:31But look, that guys a legend forever and all it is is, oh, I
- 42:36can't, I can't coach anymore for Michigan for eight years, I bet,
- 42:39Harbaugh says. Hey, you want to come?
- 42:41He's not to the Chargers. He doesn't even want to speak to
- 42:43the kid. He doesn't even want to have a
- 42:44conversation. He reached right now.
- 42:46Dude, no. What does he need stallions for?
- 42:50He doesn't need a dude. Won him a national champion.
- 42:53Yeah. College.
- 42:54College football. Not in the NFL.
- 42:56The NFL. You could steal signs.
- 42:58Now, coaches already know that they're stealing signs.
- 43:00What are they doing? They're calling audibles at the
- 43:02line of scrimmage because these players are a lot.
- 43:03Smarter, he was able to figure out the audibles.
- 43:06He was able. To yes, but it's a little bit
- 43:08plays, it's little, it's a little bit harder in
- 43:11professional football than it is in college football.
- 43:13There's different terminology and and and different.
- 43:16Ways of corner Stallion's ability.
- 43:18Yes, I do doubt him. I think the guy's an idiot,
- 43:21honestly. Oh, this guy's a genius.
- 43:23Oh yeah, he's a genius. Viable Genius.
- 43:24Let me tell you something. Hey, I can if I'm watching
- 43:27videos on the sidelines and watching what coaches are
- 43:29calling and and what kind of hand sickles are calling and I'm
- 43:32watching the games, I'm going to be able to call the play too.
- 43:35All I got to see is watch it. Zoom right in, baby, zoom, bite
- 43:39in. Not zoom, not zoom, zoom.
- 43:41Zoom right in. More sophistic.
- 43:42It's my word. That's my word, Speedy.
- 43:44You like that word? Zoom, zoom, zoom right in.
- 43:46Not in. Zoom, zoom right in.
- 43:48You got a zoom. You got a zoom in instead of
- 43:50zoom right in. Zoom right in, as we all know
- 43:53sounds. Like an analytical.
- 43:54Well, Speaking of analytics, UFC 319 recap guys yes, we're going
- 44:00to get into it as I enjoyed the UFC.
- 44:03Finally, the UFC is putting a nice piece of fights together in
- 44:08the main event of the UFC 319 on Saturday.
- 44:10Yes, come out, come I off. Defeated DDP by unanimous
- 44:15decision 50 to 4450 to 44 and 50 to 44.
- 44:18Kamayoff had a 95.6% accuracy on his strikes and was in control
- 44:25for the entire fight, taking DDP to the mat unbelievably and
- 44:30using his advantage on the ground over the South African
- 44:34former champion. Kamayoff is expected to take on
- 44:37either Nasserdim Amavov and Ko Berlio next after improving to a
- 44:4415 and O record in his career, now with the middle weight title
- 44:50around his waist. Lerone Murphy stunned Aaron Pico
- 44:54in his UFC debut with a first round knockout via spinning
- 44:59elbow and Carlos Pretus had a spinning elbow of his own for
- 45:05Jeff Neil in a viral clip that turned the lights out of Neil
- 45:11and dropped him in the center of of the ring as the last seconds
- 45:15of round one was expired. I first of all that pratis, you
- 45:19know, knockout spin. That's the first time in UFC
- 45:22history that back-to-back fights ended in a spinning elbow.
- 45:27OK, I've never seen anything like that before watching UFC or
- 45:32mixed martial arts in my life. I've watched Bellator, I've
- 45:35watched Pride, I've watched it, you know, every single time.
- 45:39And I've never seen back-to-back fights where there's a spinning
- 45:42elbow that exile guys back-to-back fights.
- 45:45But I will say this, the both guys, Pratis and Murphy earn
- 45:50themselves $50,000 as we all heard Joe Rogan going out there
- 45:55and saying that it was told by him that they're both going to
- 45:58get fights of the night and Kami off the unbelievable domination.
- 46:02I'll get into that DDP fight. I it was sensational and Kami
- 46:06off deserves a lot of a lot of credit for what he does best.
- 46:08And that's taking guys down and dominating on the ground because
- 46:11he's a great wrestler and unbelievable against Brazilian
- 46:14jiu jitsu artists. But I will go with Pratis.
- 46:17I I thought Pratis's fight was really just completely dominated
- 46:21a guy like Neil who a lot of people thought was favorite
- 46:24coming. Going into the fight.
- 46:26Pratis was ranked if I'm not mistaken 11th and Neil was
- 46:29ranked 10th in in their weight class.
- 46:32I, I look at Pratis and what he has done for his weight class
- 46:36and the opportunity for him to jump from 10 to fight possibly
- 46:40the champion or maybe the contender for that belt in the
- 46:45very near future puts him in a position where I, I think the
- 46:48UFC is looking for that next dominant young fighter in some
- 46:51of these young and a lower weight classes where you can
- 46:54really bet on to see these unbelievable knockouts.
- 46:57So I was impressed with Carlos Pratis and what he did in that
- 47:01fight. Also the Pico fight.
- 47:04Aaron Pico, I've been following for a very, very long time.
- 47:06Great wrestler, world renowned wrestler, one of the best
- 47:09wrestlers in the world. OK and he was speaking about
- 47:13this fight and going out against Larona Murphy, a guy Auk
- 47:17fighter, an English fighter that is a knockout specialist, a guy
- 47:20that can fight on the ground fight standing up.
- 47:23He is an unbelievable fighter and going into that fight, I
- 47:25thought it was very, very close. It really before that spinning
- 47:29that spinning elbow and and Aaron Pico he was and I what I I
- 47:34really enjoy watching was Murphy timing him.
- 47:37He was putting himself in a position where he was timing
- 47:40Aaron Pico the way he was throwing punches, the way he was
- 47:42throwing kicks, where he clocked him at the perfect time when he
- 47:46was going to step into a punch. And that to me is what I what
- 47:50stands for a great UFC fighter, what a great fighter is all
- 47:53about when we talk about Anderson Silver.
- 47:55What was Anderson Silver so great counter punching?
- 47:58What is when we talk about Purnell Whitaker and Floyd
- 48:01Mayweather, All these great fighters over the years, these
- 48:04guys that are counter punchers, top end fighters at their at
- 48:07their weight classes and at their combat sports, because
- 48:10counting punching is really the edge of today's star style of
- 48:14fighting. When you have guys like Canelo
- 48:16Alvarez or even guys like Manny Pacquiao, these guys are
- 48:20offensive fighters. They're going to go at you,
- 48:22they're going to throw hard punches.
- 48:23They get they know they can hurt you.
- 48:25And you talk about the Rone Murphy, a guy that he was doing
- 48:29everything right in that fight. He was defending the takedowns
- 48:32with Aaron Pico, who's a very, very good ground fighter, a guy
- 48:36that can take you down, understands the the style of
- 48:39fighting of Larome Murphy and what Murphy likes to do.
- 48:42And Murphy, he was not hesitant or what he was doing.
- 48:45He was very calm and collective the way he was fighting Aaron
- 48:48Pico. And that was the fight that I
- 48:50out of all the proudest in and the P at the Pico fight.
- 48:53That was the the fight that really stood out to me before
- 48:55the Kamayo fight is is what Aaron Pico really stood for.
- 48:59You listen to all the different wrestlers that I've heard before
- 49:03this fight and what Aaron Pico was talking about like he's the
- 49:05next big thing. This was his first UFC fight and
- 49:08he was on he was on one of the biggest one one of those big
- 49:11cards. He wasn't on and undercard, he
- 49:13wasn't on one of the first fight, you know, the beginning
- 49:17of the the main event fight card.
- 49:18He was a 2nd to laugh last fight and Aaron Peaker was the guy
- 49:23that the UFC was eventually going to build around.
- 49:27He was the guy that everybody thought, hey, this is the guy
- 49:29that we're going to build around in the future in that weight
- 49:31class. But what Larone Murphy is he's
- 49:33undefeated. The guy has a tremendous ability
- 49:36of throwing heavy kicks to the legs and and and you saw what he
- 49:40did with that devastating elbow, spinning elbow.
- 49:43This guy is to me when when it comes to full end type type of
- 49:48combat fighting that you want to see the bet one of the best
- 49:51fighters the UFC is providing on all around fighting fighting
- 49:54styles of taking down and dominating on the top, you know,
- 49:57and standing up with you against amongst the best fighters in his
- 50:00weight class. The Kamayo fight, it was boring.
- 50:04It was a very boring fight and I expected it.
- 50:08Come I off is a is a great wrestler and we are come I off
- 50:11before the fight. He says I'm going to dominate
- 50:13this guy on a guy he was telling he was telling drink yes what he
- 50:17was doing. DDP we wrote he was going to do
- 50:19I'm going to take it down. I'm a pound you and that's what
- 50:22he did 20 seconds of every single round.
- 50:25Within 20 seconds he was taking him down.
- 50:28He was double double hand, a double arm taking down
- 50:31everything. DDP knew what was going know
- 50:34what was coming. He knew that he was going to
- 50:35take him down. He just couldn't stop him.
- 50:37There was nothing he could do. You saw DDP, you saw what he was
- 50:40doing when he was on the ground and even after the rounds he was
- 50:44talking to his coaches. He says the guy strong.
- 50:46I I'm doing I'm strong. I'm feeling good, but there was
- 50:49nothing he can do against him. Come I off just absolutely
- 50:53dominated the fight and could anybody become I off in that
- 50:56weight class right now? I don't know if they can 15 and
- 50:59oh, I the guy S going to play. He's going to find another 15
- 51:02fights as fights. He might be the next undefeated
- 51:05top champion the UFC has to provide.
- 51:07Because to me, those wrestlers, I've said this over and over and
- 51:11over again, when it comes to mixed martial arts, wrestlers
- 51:13are the hardest fighters to beat.
- 51:15And why? Because the first thing they're
- 51:17thinking about is taking it down.
- 51:19The next thing is dominating you on the ground with your own body
- 51:22weight. And that's what Kamiyov did.
- 51:24GDP is a big strong guy and Kamiyov, if you look at the size
- 51:28of both of these guys, DDP is a lot bigger than Kamiyov.
- 51:32And that's what Kamiyov did. He used DDPS body weight, his
- 51:37strength of his stand up fighting and his understanding
- 51:40how to use his body strength against him and kept him on the
- 51:43ground every single round. That's why Kamayov is going to
- 51:47be hard to beat. That's why Jon Jones for years
- 51:50in the top of his game, it's top of his style of fighting.
- 51:53The hardest thing to beating Jon Jones was taking him down and
- 51:56dominating him on the ground. That's why Jon Jones is one of
- 51:59the greatest fighters of all time.
- 52:00And I can I'm going to tell you this right now, Kamayov is on
- 52:03his way. I don't know if anybody in that
- 52:05weight class, he might have to move right on up in the in the
- 52:09in the higher weight classes, because I don't think there's
- 52:11anybody in that class that could beat him right now.
- 52:14He, he's a superb and, and what he does best, like I said, is
- 52:18take you down ### until you submit.
- 52:21And by the way, DDP after the fight and you saw what he said,
- 52:25he wanted to apologize to the South African fans that were out
- 52:27there and, and, and paying for the pay per views.
- 52:30And then he says I'm going to come back bigger and stronger
- 52:32and come on off after the fight was very respectable to DDP.
- 52:35He said, listen, I'm going to give you, I'm going to give you
- 52:37the opportunity to come back for the belt and, and fight me for
- 52:40the belt. Is he really going to beat?
- 52:42I just styles make matches and I just don't think DDB style can
- 52:47beat Kami Off. Even if he stood, if Kami off
- 52:50wanted to stand with him, maybe it's a lot closer, but I don't
- 52:53think there's anybody that can compete with this guy on the
- 52:56ground. It's crazy too and like going
- 52:58into like these fights, you knew kind of what to expect and what
- 53:01it was going to be. Pico cool story.
- 53:03Obviously, you know, just coming from his background and
- 53:06obviously you know, he, his family is, is basically royalty
- 53:10in California. His dad was, you know, in
- 53:12California. Wrestling and the last.
- 53:14Mexican governor and you know, just the, the one thing about
- 53:19those fights, it was it was very tactical.
- 53:21It's very like they knew exactly what and it was it was fun to
- 53:25watch. And you know, the one thing that
- 53:27I do respect about, I mean, the, the sport of mixed martial arts
- 53:31in in general is just the camaraderie.
- 53:33And the crazy thing is when both of those guys won and
- 53:36back-to-back spinning elbows, they didn't care about
- 53:39themselves. They talked about getting their
- 53:41buddies into UFC and literally like we just went to Dana and
- 53:47was like give them a chance. Like they were very humble job.
- 53:49You're right. Yeah, it was.
- 53:51It was unbelievable to hear those guys.
- 53:52That was like, yeah, give me a chance.
- 53:54But you know, these guys got me to where I'm at.
- 53:56They need a chance to do it here too.
- 53:58And it's just, it's because you don't get to where they're at
- 54:01without basically beating each other's ass up and down the mat
- 54:05and the Octagon and and pushing each other.
- 54:07So it was really like, it's, I love that part of it.
- 54:11It's like, hey, I'm coming in to knock your head off.
- 54:13But at the same time, the respect Pico didn't know where
- 54:15he was at for a good 10 minutes. I mean, no, that was, that was a
- 54:18big flat line KO that's been like.
- 54:21They couldn't even give us a mouthpiece.
- 54:22Just. Perfectly.
- 54:24Pico was pressuring Larome Murphy that entire fight, and it
- 54:27almost. Because he had to.
- 54:29I'm saying he was getting tagged a lot, but it seemed like he was
- 54:31studying him that whole first round.
- 54:33He's like he's going to pressure me at one point, he's going to
- 54:35get me cuts the cage and I'm going to time it up perfectly
- 54:38and he hit it right on the chin. He flatlined and done walk out.
- 54:42When Larome started talking, that's not the accident I fully
- 54:44like because you hear it like in the embedded and it's like, Oh
- 54:47no, that's strong. The guy is a dominant fighter.
- 54:50He dominated on the ground and that's why he won the fight.
- 54:53And I don't, I don't think the fight was even close and wasn't
- 54:56going to be close. DDB had no to me, he had no
- 54:59answer. And, and to me, if you knew that
- 55:03a guy like Chamaya was going to do what he was going to do, then
- 55:07you should have, you should have made sure that you got some of
- 55:09the best wrestlers in the world to come and, and, and grapple
- 55:12with you. Because you look at DDB, he's a
- 55:16great ground fighter. He, I think if I'm not mistaken,
- 55:18he's a black belt in South Africa.
- 55:21This guy is a South African Brazilian jiu jitsu artist.
- 55:23He's a good ground fighter, but he's never afford a guy like
- 55:27Shamaya, a guy that likes to go and take you down, dominate you,
- 55:30double leg, take you down, take you down and use your body
- 55:33weight. He was doing it the whole time
- 55:35and it made it look so easy against a stronger man.
- 55:38That's the thing about wrestling that is so unique.
- 55:41You can go against some of the strongest wrestlers in the world
- 55:45and if you're a better wrestler than he is at a lower weight,
- 55:47you're faster than he is, you can take him down.
- 55:49It doesn't matter how bigger and how stronger he is than you are,
- 55:53if you know connecting and and and really grabbing and pulling
- 55:57and using your body weight against them, you're going to be
- 56:00able to dominate them as what you saw Chimayaf doing against a
- 56:04guy that was much bigger than he was.
- 56:06You saw it. Chimayaf is he's not a small
- 56:10man. Obviously fights in the same,
- 56:12but if you look at what DDB has to drop to get into that weight
- 56:15class, you're talking about 30 pounds, 35 lbs.
- 56:20He's huge. For 185, yeah, he probably, he
- 56:23walks. Around, he already said it.
- 56:25He walks around. He walks around at 2:40.
- 56:28That's really massive. He walks around at 2:40.
- 56:30Big point for this fight I wanted to talk about.
- 56:33So obviously the you talk about, you know, Hamza Shamaya pretty
- 56:36much just dominated DDP the entire fight.
- 56:38The big two questions coming into this fight were is
- 56:41Shamaya's gas tank going to last if DDP was able to drag him in
- 56:44the deep waters and was DDP able going to be able to survive the
- 56:47first round? While he did survive the first
- 56:49round in the takedowns, he didn't let him.
- 56:51This is one thing I think DDP did well and again, we'll get
- 56:54into his fight camp in a second, but not really knowing, you
- 56:56know, he worked on his wrist control.
- 56:58He didn't allow Hamza to attempt any submission or he did a
- 57:01fantastic job defending submissions.
- 57:03It seemed like he didn't want to get finished.
- 57:05But part of the thing that I was confused about was I don't know
- 57:08who was in his fight camp or how he he worked on takedown defense
- 57:11because and he said in the pre fight press conference, he's I
- 57:15am expecting to get taken down by Hamsat Tamaya.
- 57:17But it kind of seemed like he was just hoping that Tamaya
- 57:20would, you know, burn himself out like he did in those first
- 57:23couple. Obviously, you look back at the
- 57:24Kamara Ustman fighting Gilbert Burns where you know, they got
- 57:27him into those next couple rounds and and Gilbert Burns and
- 57:29Kamara Ustman were able to piece him up here and there.
- 57:31Obviously Tamaya have got the win, but you know, DDP, he
- 57:34never, it never really got a chance because put him in
- 57:37crucifixes, he put him in, you know, he wrote him down on all
- 57:40four. He never let him get into a
- 57:42face. And one thing for Jamaya that
- 57:44I'll give him a lot of credit for.
- 57:45I got a shout out, my brother Ryan for this told me he went
- 57:47and trained with Coach Sam Calviti for this fight who was a
- 57:51legendary cardio coach for many mixed martial artists and he
- 57:56worked on his cardio. He helped him get in proper
- 57:58conditioning. You saw Arminster Ruki was with
- 58:00him, they're walking out. They trained together for this
- 58:02fight on purpose. And it seemed like Shamaya
- 58:05obviously never really was challenged by DDP, but he was
- 58:08never guessed. He was smart.
- 58:09He is cardio was fantastic throughout the entire fight and
- 58:12he never had to worry. And it seems like that's what
- 58:14DDP was going to rely on and it never worked out.
- 58:16Jake, have you ever seen a fighter in out of three out of
- 58:20the five rounds put another champion in a crucifix as as as
- 58:24quick as he did, As quick as he did?
- 58:27Yeah, as quick as he. Did say DDP he did try to buck
- 58:31in and and posture up out of it, but Shamayev just he his grip
- 58:34was so strong and like there's nothing he could do to get out
- 58:37of that hole. And then he kind of just refined
- 58:39himself that like he was put tucking his head into his his
- 58:42shoulder line. This is the thing I will say I,
- 58:44I, I agree with you, Errol. The fact that you could see that
- 58:46the fight, look, it was disappointing.
- 58:48It wasn't. Exciting.
- 58:50But you got, of course, you respect Hamza Shamayev and his
- 58:53dominant performance. He was of.
- 58:55A challenger ever putting on a champion.
- 58:57I think there were 310, eight rounds in Jamaya's favor, which
- 59:00is unbelievable. And with no knockdowns.
- 59:03No, right, exactly. And the DDP's point, it's like,
- 59:07yeah. And it was almost like he was
- 59:10like, all right, I'll wait till the next round.
- 59:11In the next round. Then that was like, by then it's
- 59:13like, dude, it's round four, you're down 3 O and it's not
- 59:17even contestable. You're losing the pipe.
- 59:19You've got to. Finish it.
- 59:20I'm going to pretend that I'm DDP, OK.
- 59:22And when you're you're sitting down there and the fans are
- 59:25coming to see you, you're the you're the fan favorite and and
- 59:28that's the first time in a very, very long.
- 59:30I don't remember a champion being the underdog in a fight.
- 59:34I mean, think about it. When was the last time you I've
- 59:36seen a champion, an underdog of a fight you usually don't see?
- 59:40That it was a big underdog. It wasn't just like, it wasn't
- 59:43like -110. He was like +200.
- 59:46It was, it was significant. It was significant.
- 59:50It was, I'm pretty sure it was the biggest underdog champion
- 59:53that's ever been in a fight in the history.
- 59:54So of which was insane. I mean, clearly the the the
- 59:59bookies knew something and. I mean, I get bookies.
- 1:00:01Didn't know anything everybody that scene understands MMA and
- 1:00:05mixed martial arts understands that wrestling is probably the
- 1:00:08most dominant style of fighting in professional UFC combat
- 1:00:12sports. So all right, I.
- 1:00:14Understand but I but a lot of people were saying this made it.
- 1:00:17So it was going. I wasn't I?
- 1:00:19I knew it was going to be this boy.
- 1:00:21A lot, a lot of people like, you know, MMA, you know,
- 1:00:24professionals, fighters. Although wrestling, although.
- 1:00:27Thinking this is a coin flip and this was a really going to be a
- 1:00:30I thought myself, I thought if DDP was able to drag hams out
- 1:00:33into those deeper championship rounds, I didn't really know
- 1:00:37what was going to. Have you ever seen anybody,
- 1:00:40anybody actually take this guy down to the ground the way I've
- 1:00:44seen him in 15 fights, Nobody has even come close to take this
- 1:00:47guy to my off on on the floor. And when they do, he gets right
- 1:00:51back up. He is so strong in his upper
- 1:00:54body. And, and anybody that knows
- 1:00:55understands the crucifix and I, I know I have a purple belt in
- 1:00:59Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, a little bit about a crucifix and how
- 1:01:02hard it is to put on somebody. You got to sink the arm.
- 1:01:05You got to get the body and your and your, your neck over the one
- 1:01:09arm and then pull your body over the other arm and wrap your legs
- 1:01:14around it. It's not easy to do.
- 1:01:16And that was. Effortless error too.
- 1:01:18It was almost like 3 or 4 times he had him in a crucifix in the
- 1:01:21entire. DDP was what he was doing and
- 1:01:24and what I thought he did wrong was putting his arm out there to
- 1:01:27give him an opportunity to grab it.
- 1:01:29What I would have done is I would have pulled his body
- 1:01:31closer, closer to me, especially if I'm if I'm side mounting or
- 1:01:35even trying to get into guard or half a guard.
- 1:01:37At one point he was a half a guard and he was pulling his leg
- 1:01:40outside of half a guard to get him get him on the side to side
- 1:01:44mount him. Shamaya was trying to side mount
- 1:01:47him. Once he side mounted him, I
- 1:01:49would have I would have put my arm under his waist and pulled
- 1:01:52my body under his waist. He wasn't dropping any strikes
- 1:01:56with an elbow until really later of the rounds.
- 1:01:58These these soft punches that he was laying on top of him.
- 1:02:02He. Kept peppering him with his
- 1:02:03tiny. Little It was the.
- 1:02:05Like. Like the rabbit punches?
- 1:02:06Yeah. Yeah, yeah, he had he.
- 1:02:08Had he had glove burns that was about it.
- 1:02:10But then too it was like it was. It was weird too when Driscus
- 1:02:13kept like trying to go for a guillotine and then would leave
- 1:02:16himself open for him to go into. The he only did it.
- 1:02:18Twice and and he just kept holding on to it.
- 1:02:21I'm like not going to be able to to get it anyways from yeah, he.
- 1:02:24Kept trying to posture up, but I think by round gas and there
- 1:02:27wasn't really much he could do so he kind of just refined
- 1:02:30himself to well, I'm not going to let but that's the thing I
- 1:02:31was confused with Jumaya. It's like he talks about his
- 1:02:34mentalities. I I'm coming for everybody, kill
- 1:02:36everybody. It's like, and I can't blame him
- 1:02:38for taking a smart strategic approach.
- 1:02:40But like, that was, that was not the Hamza.
- 1:02:42Like I was thinking, I thought he was going to come out here
- 1:02:43and try to kill DDP. It's like by round four, it's
- 1:02:46like you're up 3 rounds. Why not just try to open
- 1:02:48yourself up, make it a little bit of a risk, try to knock him
- 1:02:50out and. Like.
- 1:02:52And like I just, I just don't understand like it was.
- 1:02:54There was no way, Jake, it was no way he was going to stand up
- 1:02:58with DDP and. Expect I'm not saying he stands
- 1:03:01up, I'm saying why didn't he like unleash violent Grant like
- 1:03:04he didn't throw any. Well, because, because he knew
- 1:03:07what for? Because here's the thing, DDP is
- 1:03:10a good ground fighter. This guy's a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
- 1:03:12artist. Now he's not the ground fighter
- 1:03:14the. Job, but it doesn't again, he's
- 1:03:16a wrestler and he used his weight against himself.
- 1:03:19He used DDPS weight against him. And that's that's what wrestlers
- 1:03:23do, especially Greco Roman wrestlers.
- 1:03:25And remember Chimayoff is is a Russian type of style of
- 1:03:30wrestler. Those Russian wrestlers are so
- 1:03:33hard to beat because what they do is they they strengthen their
- 1:03:37upper body. The first thing as as a
- 1:03:39youngster what they do, and I don't know if anybody checked
- 1:03:42out some of the training of some of these Russian wrestlers.
- 1:03:45What they do is they, they make you hang on a pull up bars and
- 1:03:49they make you hang for hours, hours to build your grip and
- 1:03:54your strength. So when they close grip you,
- 1:03:56when they get you and they wrap their arms around you and
- 1:03:59they're used and they, they pull you down and, and use your body
- 1:04:02weight against you. There is no way of once they
- 1:04:05lock their hands, there's no way of getting through.
- 1:04:07You're getting those arms unlocked.
- 1:04:10And that's what obviously that we were saying.
- 1:04:11You got to unlock the arms. You got to, you got to pull the
- 1:04:14arms and use his hands and move his.
- 1:04:16There was no way DDP was going to be able to do that because as
- 1:04:19strong as DDP is when you're on the bottom of this just absolute
- 1:04:24dominant, dominant wrestler there.
- 1:04:27It's very, very hard to pull this guy's hands loose to try to
- 1:04:32you to try to get under him or try to get over him to, to, to
- 1:04:35double, double arm lock him or double, double, double leg kick
- 1:04:40him out of on top of you. So I'm trying to remember, you
- 1:04:42know, certain things. That's why I'm, I'm kind of like
- 1:04:44trying to figure out ways of if, if he's on top of me and he's
- 1:04:48locking his hands and he's on top and he's trying to put
- 1:04:50something, you know, trying to grab my waist and use my body
- 1:04:53against me, what I'm trying to do.
- 1:04:55And the first thing you do as what you learn as wrestling is
- 1:04:59you got to unloose, unloosen the lock.
- 1:05:01You got to grab the wrist, you got to control the wrist, which
- 1:05:04that's the first thing in wrestling.
- 1:05:05You can't control the wrists. Well, you can't control the
- 1:05:08fighter. Well, there was no way DDP was
- 1:05:11going to do that against just a superior wrestler, a guy that
- 1:05:14understands the, the dominance of who he is as a ground
- 1:05:19fighter. And that's it.
- 1:05:20That's all you. That's really all you can sell
- 1:05:22about that fight is he's just a much more.
- 1:05:25If they ever fight again, which they will, a DB wants to prove
- 1:05:29himself and he's going to train very, very hard.
- 1:05:31You think that even if he trains and he wrestles and he gets all
- 1:05:35these top wrestlers into his camp, do you really think he has
- 1:05:38any chance against Chamanov? It's just the style, the way he
- 1:05:42fights, there's not a chance in hell he's going to be able.
- 1:05:46To like to seen him defend more takedowns and try to sprawl as
- 1:05:49well. Like he didn't really.
- 1:05:50It almost seemed like he just kind of refined himself though,
- 1:05:52allowing to get taken down. And then he just like you said,
- 1:05:54he fought the wrists, he avoided submissions.
- 1:05:56And but like again, the game plan, it just, it wasn't the
- 1:05:59right, it wasn't the right game plan because Jeremiah completely
- 1:06:02exposed it. He never, he never sprawled.
- 1:06:04He never, he never got positioned to put a wizard in
- 1:06:08like he never. Right, he tried.
- 1:06:09He tried to posture up and he did.
- 1:06:10Towards late actually he did he he stopped.
- 1:06:14He stopped to take. I think he only stopped 2 total
- 1:06:16the entire. Yeah, I don't, I think.
- 1:06:17Yeah, I think Shamaya have completely 70% of his takedowns
- 1:06:20anyway. So I could it just he couldn't
- 1:06:22do anything. I don't.
- 1:06:23I don't think he thought Shamaya was as strong as he thought he
- 1:06:26was going to be OK. I don't think, I don't think it
- 1:06:29was the strength. I think it was he thought his
- 1:06:31cardio wasn't going to be there and then he overestimated his
- 1:06:34chances that. He oh, I dude, he's much
- 1:06:37stronger. Drisk is too was exerting more
- 1:06:39any like he was kind of just laying on him at times too.
- 1:06:43I there was a couple times where they didn't like Rogan and those
- 1:06:46guys didn't agree when he stood him up.
- 1:06:47I think it was in the third. Yeah, Mark Goddard, even he
- 1:06:50threw him a bone, but it's like Shamaya had 23 minutes of ground
- 1:06:53control. And he was still like, he was
- 1:06:55doing something. Obviously they they weren't
- 1:06:57doing damage, right? Like he was still being active,
- 1:07:01and he was. Working and he should have let
- 1:07:04it. But like, I get it.
- 1:07:06You heard the Boo birds from Chicago.
- 1:07:07I got shot in Chicago. They were a great crowd, but
- 1:07:09like, obviously they were annoyed.
- 1:07:10They kept seeing the same thing every single round and got her.
- 1:07:13He's probably like, all right, Like, yeah, but not work.
- 1:07:16Shamayoff is Shamayoff is a bad guy.
- 1:07:19He's a bad guy Nobody want, Nobody wanted Shamayoff to win
- 1:07:22the fight. None of those got none of the
- 1:07:23Chicago fans. Yeah, you fight.
- 1:07:26Press trust. Trust me, Trust me.
- 1:07:29DDP was absolutely the favorite by all the fans over there.
- 1:07:33DDP was getting booed out the building at the press.
- 1:07:36That that's a press conference and during the fight.
- 1:07:38I'm not booing any his conglomer or whatever because you might
- 1:07:42walk out of the arena and get shot because you know them dudes
- 1:07:45is doing some. Extra the Russians, they're
- 1:07:47they're the Dagestays and the Chechnya, they're they're a
- 1:07:49different breed job. They're good with me, fellas.
- 1:07:53Got you. I think obviously the, the fight
- 1:07:57with Shamayoff and DDP was a fight that nobody expected.
- 1:08:01I did, I, I knew that it was going to be a boring fight.
- 1:08:03I knew what Shamayoff was going to do before, even before that,
- 1:08:07that press conference, the, the pre, the pre press conference
- 1:08:11when he went out there and said that I know what he's going to
- 1:08:13do. I know he's going to take me
- 1:08:14down. I'll, I'll have an answer for
- 1:08:16him. He didn't have an answer for him
- 1:08:18because he's just he's not capable of fighting this guy on
- 1:08:22the ground again. If they fight again at the end
- 1:08:25of this year or maybe in the beginning of next year, is the
- 1:08:28fight going to be any different? The answer would be no.
- 1:08:30And then they're just it's a mismatch for DDP.
- 1:08:33If I was DDP right now, I'm moving up and way to two O 5.
- 1:08:36The two O 5 division to me is not a very good division right
- 1:08:39now. And and he would be a pretty big
- 1:08:42two O 5. So I I think he'd be even more
- 1:08:45impressive the way he he he throws his kicks and he throws
- 1:08:48his punches. He'd be a knockout specialist in
- 1:08:50a two O 5 division. That is kind of open down.
- 1:08:53I that that's in my opinion the the light heavyweight division
- 1:08:57is still it was at 1.1 of the better division.
- 1:09:00It's not really that anymore. So I think DDP would be sincere
- 1:09:04unless DDP wants to go down to 170 and that I think that is
- 1:09:08just absolutely kill him to go down at 170.
- 1:09:11I just. I was talking about he wants to
- 1:09:13go up. He can, He can.
- 1:09:15I think, I think he should wait for Nasadir, Amava or Kabrahala
- 1:09:19or maybe even Reiner de Ritter. I mean, that's the one thing
- 1:09:21I'll just say like really quick. Obviously we have in two weeks
- 1:09:23to Fight Night Nasadir, I'm up against Kabrahala and that will
- 1:09:26definitely be the number one contender fight.
- 1:09:28But Jemaya, again, he didn't take much damage and he was
- 1:09:30talking about he wants to fight on the Abu Dhabi card.
- 1:09:32And then having him and Tom Aspinall and Cyril gone against
- 1:09:35Ryder de Ritter, that would be amazing.
- 1:09:37That'd be so much fun to watch. I want to shout out Anthony
- 1:09:39Hernandez too, who fought with. Fluffy.
- 1:09:41Yeah, that was a fantastic. Afterward, the contenders and
- 1:09:45then they're like, hey, he was in.
- 1:09:46Four days later, he goes on like.
- 1:09:48Oh yeah, that was that was. Let me get his day at Bassagar,
- 1:09:52Susukayev. Yeah, Susukayev, where do?
- 1:09:54These guys, where do these guys get their names, man?
- 1:09:56Susukayev. Four days wins and there's turns
- 1:10:00around, goes and fights. Eric Nolan, former military man
- 1:10:04on four days, makes his UFC debut and he did get cracked
- 1:10:07with a couple shots there, but he did get a good win, so we.
- 1:10:09Got four days, but yeah, the Anthony Henderson Hernandez won
- 1:10:13yeah, too. That's it.
- 1:10:14For not a huge name card, it was rather enjoyable.
- 1:10:18I honestly I think if the main event was like it was more
- 1:10:21entertaining, it probably would have been the card of the year.
- 1:10:23I still think 314 with Vulcan and Diego Lopez was the best
- 1:10:27card of the year so far, but to me this was definitely the
- 1:10:29second best. Card but also also as a fan
- 1:10:31though too, like like I said, when listen to shop, it's like
- 1:10:34for people that don't understand for what he did is like it's so
- 1:10:37hard to do and it's literally like, yeah, it's boring, but
- 1:10:41like to do it the way he did it with such ease is like it's like
- 1:10:46when you go, you throw a perfect game.
- 1:10:47It looks easy, but it's incredibly hard that you made
- 1:10:50like it. It's boring to watch because you
- 1:10:53want to see a knockout and Carter and I were going back and
- 1:10:55forth. They're like, can we see
- 1:10:56something? Let me see two in a row and then
- 1:10:57it's like we can do kind. Of without if you like
- 1:10:59wrestling. It was.
- 1:11:00Good if you like wrestling, it wasn't boring, but if you're
- 1:11:02you're not a big fan of, you know, obviously real Greco Roman
- 1:11:06wrestling, you're not going to want to watch that.
- 1:11:08It's just absolute dominance by Chamaya off and Kamaya off,
- 1:11:12whatever you want to call them, Cheech and Chong, whatever you
- 1:11:15you want to call him. I I just think obviously the
- 1:11:18fight was the fight car was OK. I thought the spinning elbows
- 1:11:22were sensational. Watching back-to-back spinning
- 1:11:24elbows, which just shocked me. The way Aaron Pico got knocked
- 1:11:28out, I was shocked. But Murphy is a great fighter
- 1:11:30and should get a title shot, should get a title shot.
- 1:11:33After this, being undefeated and doing what he did against a guy
- 1:11:37that everybody thought is the next big thing in the UFC tells
- 1:11:39me one thing that this guy is ready to be the champion of the
- 1:11:43world. Thank you to all the fans out

- 1:12:43then returning to the show at 9:45 will be our friend from all
- 1:12:4622 fantasy football, Ray Cotto. Possibly his partner Chris
- 1:12:49Lombardi, too. I haven't heard from him yet,
- 1:12:51but Ray will definitely. I will tell you this about those
- 1:12:53guys. They're they do a great job when
- 1:12:55it comes to fantasy and and making and and making gestures
- 1:12:59on who you should pick when it comes to fantasy sports.
- 1:13:03Those guys need to be knocked around a little bit tomorrow and
- 1:13:05I'm going to give it to him. I'm I'm but I'm going to give it
- 1:13:07to him. Fair, not in a sexual way job.
- 1:13:10I know you look. Until they hack their like I'm
- 1:13:11doing. Until they find a way to hack
- 1:13:13their system and force Travis Hunter on that 22 team.
- 1:13:16Well, that's never going to happen.
- 1:13:17I I will, I will tell you this on any of my fantasy teams, I
- 1:13:21will not draft Travis the Gremlin Hunter.
- 1:13:24I will never do that. And but by the way.
- 1:13:27You have to, you have to tell us like we really thought you would
- 1:13:30draft that. Guy I would never, I'm never
- 1:13:33driving. I would never draft him.
- 1:13:35He will be and, and people will be stupid enough to draft him in
- 1:13:38the first 3 rounds. I guarantee you some stupid
- 1:13:41idiot is going to draft him in the top three in the top three
- 1:13:44rounds. Brian Thomas is the guy to draft
- 1:13:47on that Jacksonville team. Expect this guy to be the one of
- 1:13:50the top three wide receivers in the league this year.
- 1:13:53You can book it, I guarantee it. You can put it on a plate, eat
- 1:13:57it with some spaghetti and meatballs.
- 1:13:59I'm telling you right now, Brian Thomas is the guy to go after.
- 1:14:03I'm going after him in the third or if he's there in the third
- 1:14:05round, he. Won't be there in the third.
- 1:14:06He's going like late 1st. Early.
- 1:14:08I know, I know. That's the sad point.
- 1:14:09He's a top 50. Yeah, I know.
- 1:14:11He's special, man, That kid is special.
- 1:14:13He's better than DID. You say top 15.
- 1:14:15Yeah, yeah, people are saying that.
- 1:14:17Yeah, he's. Going late 1st, early second
- 1:14:19round, everything. Else dude, that guy is going to
- 1:14:21that kid, Mark my words, he's the best.
- 1:14:23He's going to be the best wide receiver in the league in the
- 1:14:25next two years. Mark it, book it, whatever you
- 1:14:28want to do it, whatever however way you want to slice it in your
- 1:14:31dice it, that guy is special. I'm telling you, I'm not lying
- 1:14:35to you and I I'm going to book it.
- 1:14:37I'll book it anyway. Is Trevor Lawrence special?
- 1:14:40Is the bigger. I don't think you care.
- 1:14:41I don't think it matters. I think he's proven that if
- 1:14:44Trevor Lawrence is good or not, he's going to put up the
- 1:14:46numbers. He did it without Trevor
- 1:14:48Lawrence. He had Matt.
- 1:14:49What was it, Matt Jones? I'm just saying to be the top
- 1:14:53guy, you need a more competent quarterback.
- 1:14:56I think, I think if Lawrence stays healthy, Travis Santo will
- 1:15:01be OK. I think they're going to figure
- 1:15:03out that he's more of a corner than he is a wide receiver.
- 1:15:06He'll play both. But that's what he is.
- 1:15:09And I, I don't even know if he's a good corner in this league
- 1:15:12with all the Starfire power that they have over there.
- 1:15:16I, I'll see. I, I don't know.
- 1:15:17I don't know. He's gonna have to be like a
- 1:15:19really good receiver for and they justify his fantasy value
- 1:15:21'cause he's going like fourth, fifth round.
- 1:15:23I don't want. For all 22 it might be different
- 1:15:25'cause he could play both. Positions I don't like him.
- 1:15:27I think he smells like horse Doo Doo.
- 1:15:29That's what I think he. Smells gremlin Doo Doo.
- 1:15:31Gremlin Doo, he smells like gremlin.
- 1:15:33What does gremlin doodo smell like?
- 1:15:34Doo I don't know what does he smell?
- 1:15:36They they can't eat after midnight, so whatever crap comes
- 1:15:38out of them. If you wet them, they they, they
- 1:15:41triple, they triple. So I you gotta stay away from
- 1:15:44Gizmo, right? It was.
- 1:15:46There's no. It's a good one there.
- 1:15:47It's all the duplicates that cause the problems.
- 1:15:49Yeah, they shoot out like, you know everything else, if you
- 1:15:52know what I mean. Jabba.
- 1:15:53It comes out with, you know, a little spice to it, a lot of
- 1:15:57spice to it. Anyways, that's it.
- 1:15:58For got dude wipes. Yeah, that's right.
- 1:16:01That Speaking of dude wipes. I mean, somebody's got to wipe
- 1:16:03them. As long as she's using dude
- 1:16:05wipes and taking care of my 2 hole I'm good.
- 1:16:07Pulled it out of my ass. All right, ladies and gentlemen,
- 1:16:09I hope you pulled it out of your ass.
- 1:16:10I hope you enjoyed everything. And make sure you don't throw
- 1:16:13bats at anybody. If you want, ask Robles or ask
- 1:16:16Roger Clemens. You can do a Clemens at Clemens
- 1:16:18anytime you want. Anyways, that's it.
- 1:16:20We'll be back. But tomorrow, actually, yeah,
- 1:16:22we'll be back tomorrow. Enjoy your night.
- 1:16:24Enjoy the next, I don't know, couple hours and we'll see you
- 1:16:27tomorrow. Good night.
