- 0:00Speaker 1: What el six points I've at Light FM, New York's
- 0:01Speaker 1: variety Station's right, true, Christine? Why am I lying? Of
- 0:04Speaker 1: course I'm gonna judge.
- 0:06Speaker 2: I won't tell you. I won't tell you. But good morning, Victor,
- 0:10Speaker 2: good morning. How are you. I'm doing well? What do
- 0:12Speaker 2: you think that we call that the sun? It's starting
- 0:15Speaker 2: to come up?
- 0:15Speaker 1: I hear that the sun allegedly comes up in the morning.
- 0:18Speaker 2: I've never seen it, so, Victor, normally where you're handing
- 0:23Speaker 2: off to us when Keby and I come in in
- 0:24Speaker 2: the morning, and you've been doing the overnights here at
- 0:26Speaker 2: light FM and doing such a beautiful, beautiful job. But
- 0:30Speaker 2: do you live your life kind of like Dracula? Would
- 0:32Speaker 2: you say?
- 0:33Speaker 1: I don't believe it or not. I spend more time
- 0:35Speaker 1: in the sun than you would think. Because I've been
- 0:37Speaker 1: doing this job so long, I've tried it every which way.
- 0:39Speaker 1: When I first got here, I tried to go home
- 0:42Speaker 1: and go right to sleep. Never worked. I couldn't take
- 0:44Speaker 1: more than like a twenty or forty minute nap and
- 0:47Speaker 1: then I was up anyway. So for most of the
- 0:49Speaker 1: time I've been doing overnights here at light FM, I
- 0:52Speaker 1: just go on about my day, I go work out,
- 0:53Speaker 1: I run my errands, I do this so that or
- 0:55Speaker 1: the other, and I'm not in the bed until three
- 0:57Speaker 1: thirty four o'clock in the afternoon.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Okay, Well all right, so you go to bed three
- 1:00Speaker 2: thirty four o'clock in the afternoon, you get up at
- 1:02Speaker 2: what time?
- 1:02Speaker 1: Eleven pm?
- 1:04Speaker 2: Okay? I like, does your body ever get used to that?
- 1:07Speaker 2: That's what everybody? No, right, never.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Never.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Everyone asks us about the mornings. They're like, oh, you
- 1:12Speaker 2: must get used to it, and it's like.
- 1:13Speaker 1: No, you do not, absolutely not. You never. In fact,
- 1:17Speaker 1: I was telling producer Christen this morning. She asked me
- 1:18Speaker 1: if I slept okay on the schedule, and I said,
- 1:20Speaker 1: I probably slept better today being able to sleep until
- 1:23Speaker 1: three o'clock in the morning.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that was sleeping in for you.
- 1:25Speaker 1: It was, it really was. I woke up and beat
- 1:28Speaker 1: the alarm by fifteen minutes. Like, hey, I'm really rare
- 1:32Speaker 1: to go.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Well, it's so nice of you to, you know, flip
- 1:34Speaker 2: the hours around and come in and hang out with
- 1:37Speaker 2: us in the morning and keep us company, and we
- 1:38Speaker 2: appreciate it.
- 1:39Speaker 1: What is my pleasure? I'm glad to be invited anywhere,
- 1:41Speaker 1: you know, I'll show up as long as the key
- 1:43Speaker 1: card work.
- 1:43Speaker 3: It does more Covey and Christine and the great music
- 1:47Speaker 3: variety you expect next on light at them.
- 1:50Speaker 2: Okay, I need to tell you.
- 1:52Speaker 3: Two things, coffee and Christine's two pretty cool things.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Six twenty six at one O six point seven light FM.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Cuppy is probably off plotting on how to get his
- 2:02Speaker 1: hands on one of these cool things, Christine.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, what is it?
- 2:06Speaker 1: Well, there is an auction going on, or at least
- 2:09Speaker 1: it will be August eleventh. You can register now at
- 2:11Speaker 1: juliansauctions dot com. If you are a big Whitney Houston fan.
- 2:15Speaker 1: A bunch of Whitney memorabilia that she once owned operated
- 2:18Speaker 1: is going up for auction and it's going to her foundation.
- 2:21Speaker 1: The proceeds are and it's great cause. Proceeds are through
- 2:24Speaker 1: her foundation funding scholarships and grants for underprivileged youth to
- 2:28Speaker 1: get to college. So it's awesome stuff. But among the
- 2:30Speaker 1: things you have there the traditional concert Warren gowns outfits
- 2:34Speaker 1: at Whitney Warren videos. But if I was not staring
- 2:36Speaker 1: at this on my screen right now, Christine, I would
- 2:38Speaker 1: not believe it. You can purchase or auction. You know,
- 2:42Speaker 1: win at auction Whitney Houston's gold plated social Security card.
- 2:49Speaker 1: What I'm not making that up. I had the double
- 2:52Speaker 1: check this list.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Even though that existed.
- 2:53Speaker 1: It's an actual social Security card, says on the bottom
- 2:57Speaker 1: of it, as registered with the US government. You ever
- 3:00Speaker 1: wanted to know what Whitney houston social Security number was,
- 3:02Speaker 1: you'll get mar it or free self.
- 3:04Speaker 2: I didn't know you could get your social Security card
- 3:07Speaker 2: gold plated.
- 3:08Speaker 1: You do with it? I mean, I've been spending my
- 3:10Speaker 1: life hiding line right, I had no idea. Is that
- 3:14Speaker 1: even about?
- 3:16Speaker 2: Okay, cool piece of memorabilia though, yeah, for sure. And Victor,
- 3:19Speaker 2: there's a great opportunity to go see Wicked the musical
- 3:22Speaker 2: on Broadway right now because they are offering forty five
- 3:25Speaker 2: dollars general rush tickets for every performance. Wow, And they
- 3:29Speaker 2: haven't done that before. They've only offered lottery and student
- 3:32Speaker 2: rush tickets. So it's playing at the Gershwin Theater. They
- 3:35Speaker 2: are forty five dollars rush tickets. So when the box
- 3:37Speaker 2: office opens, whatever is available, you want to be there
- 3:41Speaker 2: because you've got a shot at getting it. A maximum
- 3:43Speaker 2: of two tickets per person. And Wicked is the fourth
- 3:47Speaker 2: longest running show in Broadway history. It's now in its
- 3:50Speaker 2: twenty third year on Broadway.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Hence the term Rush as a New Yorker elbow, Stay
- 3:55Speaker 1: sharp Now watch out more.
- 3:57Speaker 3: Covey and Christine and the Great Music Variety's next on
- 4:01Speaker 3: light FM.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Good Morning six forty one Best Variety in the City's here.
- 4:04Speaker 1: It's one O six point seven Light FM Cubbies Off
- 4:06Speaker 1: the Day on vict sosa In with Christine and producer Kristen. Christine,
- 4:09Speaker 1: you were about to share something here that probably has
- 4:12Speaker 1: people who work as executives in the laundry detergent industry
- 4:16Speaker 1: shaking in their boots. Yeah, your secrets they do not
- 4:19Speaker 1: want exposed.
- 4:20Speaker 2: This is true, Victor. So there's a brand called Herk Leon.
- 4:24Speaker 2: This is an American company that does clothing, and they've
- 4:29Speaker 2: created a T shirt that can be worn every day
- 4:33Speaker 2: for more than a month and it doesn't need washing,
- 4:37Speaker 2: so they claim thirty days thirty days. It's called the
- 4:41Speaker 2: Herk Shirt v. Five point zero. It stays odor free
- 4:46Speaker 2: for over thirty days because it's made with copper and
- 4:48Speaker 2: silver and zinc and gold and volcanic ash, which are
- 4:52Speaker 2: materials that fight odour causing bacteria. Neutralize sweat related smells
- 4:56Speaker 2: and absorbs moisture. Would you go for it? Vict your Sosa?
- 5:00Speaker 1: I went to college. Yeah, I mean I've done it
- 5:02Speaker 1: before with shirts that wouldn't help.
- 5:04Speaker 2: Oh okay, those are your college days, not your work days, right,
- 5:07Speaker 2: because I haven't detected.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Anything, But I do have an observation about these ingredients.
- 5:13Speaker 1: What does it say about the degree of funk if
- 5:16Speaker 1: you can wear volcanic ash and that smells better than
- 5:19Speaker 1: you do?
- 5:20Speaker 3: More Covey and Christine and the great music variety you
- 5:23Speaker 3: expect next on light f them.
- 5:25Speaker 1: No busier plays on planet Earth than New York. You
- 5:28Speaker 1: made some time for us. Appreciate you. Six fifty one
- 5:30Speaker 1: oh six point seven light FM, New York's variety station
- 5:33Speaker 1: on Victor Sosa. And for Kabby, Christine is here and Christine,
- 5:37Speaker 1: there is something. I guess this is really the time
- 5:39Speaker 1: of year for it, because summer vacation season is starting
- 5:42Speaker 1: to wind down. But the right vacation with the right person. Yes, ooh,
- 5:47Speaker 1: that's very important to get.
- 5:48Speaker 2: That right danger zone danger warning. So yeah, I always say,
- 5:52Speaker 2: like you know, when you're in that honeymoon phase and
- 5:54Speaker 2: you're like, let's go away together. No, because that could
- 5:58Speaker 2: be the end of everything. Eighty nine percent of respondence
- 6:01Speaker 2: to this poll that was taken by The Independent believe
- 6:04Speaker 2: of first vacation can make or break you. So if
- 6:08Speaker 2: you're in a relationship and it's kind of new, these
- 6:11Speaker 2: are the biggest ix. Couple say they discover about each
- 6:14Speaker 2: other on a vacation. That's dangerous. You may not make
- 6:17Speaker 2: it through. One of the things is clapping when the
- 6:20Speaker 2: plane lands. Apparently a lot of people find that to
- 6:25Speaker 2: be a big turn off.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Oh my goodness. Okay, well, I mean I'd be clapping
- 6:28Speaker 1: if I was landing someplace tropical.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Maybe, yes, just happy to be here, folks, Yes, exactly.
- 6:35Speaker 2: You can tell me if this is a big turn
- 6:36Speaker 2: off for you. Photographing every meal for social.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Media, I can live with it, but it's not my favorite.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Right right, okay. And doing everything for social though, can
- 6:46Speaker 2: make people a little crazy.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Yeah, let's not. First of all, I don't want to
- 6:49Speaker 1: advertise that I'm out of town.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that's you know.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Take all the pictures you want, just don't post them
- 6:55Speaker 1: till we.
- 6:55Speaker 2: Get back post them later. Exactly. Refusing to leave the
- 6:59Speaker 2: bed until the afternoon. Who would do that?
- 7:03Speaker 1: I don't hate that. I mean, it's not my jam,
- 7:05Speaker 1: but I don't hate it. I mean it is a vacation, right,
- 7:07Speaker 1: you have earned the right to relax if you're taking
- 7:09Speaker 1: this trip, you have.
- 7:10Speaker 2: But again this is your first timers. You're out together.
- 7:12Speaker 2: There is people like me who want to up and
- 7:16Speaker 2: see things, and there's people like oh, say a drummer
- 7:19Speaker 2: who is used to sleeping in. So it's we have
- 7:22Speaker 2: to work those things out now. How very flexible?
- 7:25Speaker 1: How regimented are you on these vacations, Christine? Do you
- 7:28Speaker 1: have color coded plans that were it's like the President's schedule.
- 7:32Speaker 2: I am the drill sergeant. I'm awful. You'd hate me.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Dominating the dining itinerary is a big turn off for people.
- 7:39Speaker 2: You know, like food is a major part of the
- 7:41Speaker 2: travel experience, right, and you want to be flexible and
- 7:44Speaker 2: let people choose where they want to go. And I
- 7:47Speaker 2: don't know, maybe if you see somebody's eating habits, you're
- 7:52Speaker 2: order that. Yeah, I know you need to be in
- 7:54Speaker 2: sync with that. And the last is fly and flop laziness.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Every vacation should include relaxing, as you said, but the
- 8:00Speaker 2: it happens for some when their partner isn't willing to
- 8:02Speaker 2: get up and do anything aside from the hotel bed
- 8:05Speaker 2: to the pool side lounge chair.
- 8:06Speaker 1: All right, that might be me. I'm personally feeling attacked
- 8:09Speaker 1: right now.
- 8:10Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, it's all good. If you find
- 8:12Speaker 2: somebody who's in sync with.
- 8:13Speaker 1: You, that's all. Well. That's been a bigger problem over
- 8:15Speaker 1: the course of my life.
- 8:16Speaker 3: More Covey and Christine and the great music variety you expect.
- 8:20Speaker 3: Next on Light at Them.
- 8:21Speaker 1: I'm Victor Sosa in with Christine and producer Christin. Give
- 8:24Speaker 1: me a look at today's headlines. Christine, what's going on today?
- 8:26Speaker 2: Good morning, Victor. Well, first of all, heat advisory goes
- 8:29Speaker 2: in effect eleven am this morning through tomorrow night, so
- 8:32Speaker 2: New York City is activating both its heat and flash
- 8:35Speaker 2: flood emergency protocols. New York City is also launching a
- 8:38Speaker 2: new front and its war on dangerous illegal e bikes.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Dozens of online retailers are getting cease and desist orders
- 8:45Speaker 2: to stop selling high speed e bikes and scooters here
- 8:48Speaker 2: in town. Two municipal water systems in New Jersey were
- 8:52Speaker 2: among those federal officials warned were part of a cyber
- 8:55Speaker 2: attack they believe by Iranian hackers. Officials say everything is fine.
- 8:59Speaker 2: It was caught in time and switch to manual mode.
- 9:02Speaker 2: They're not being specific as to where the water systems
- 9:05Speaker 2: were located in New Jersey, but they are very aware
- 9:08Speaker 2: of the threats. More states or reporting cases of cyclospora.
- 9:13Speaker 2: CDC says thousands of additional probable cases could push the
- 9:16Speaker 2: total number of infections above twenty two thousand and forty
- 9:20Speaker 2: seven states right now. Chipotle and Cudoba are removing halapeno
- 9:24Speaker 2: peppers just to be on the safe side. They're concerned
- 9:27Speaker 2: about salmonilla with that. So it's quite a bit going
- 9:30Speaker 2: on with the food. Perez Hilton being held in a
- 9:32Speaker 2: Miami Dade county under the Baker Act Hospital. The Florida
- 9:37Speaker 2: law allows for the temporary involuntary detention of a person
- 9:41Speaker 2: experiencing a mental health crisis that poses a danger to
- 9:44Speaker 2: himself or others. And we did see and hear about
- 9:47Speaker 2: that disturbing video where it looked like he was harming himself,
- 9:50Speaker 2: his family. Thanking everyone for their prayers. The powerball jackpot
- 9:55Speaker 2: tonight eight hundred and fifty six million dollars. I'm sorry
- 9:59Speaker 2: tomorrow Saturday night, So just keep that in mind. In
- 10:03Speaker 2: case you're deciding, I was.
- 10:04Speaker 1: Gonna say, because behind the scenes, Christine is notorious for
- 10:07Speaker 1: turning her nose up at these powerball jacks box until
- 10:09Speaker 1: they approach a billion dollars.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Now it's worth it, okay, you know otherwise, who needs
- 10:13Speaker 2: like just a few million dollars?
- 10:15Speaker 1: Really? In this town?
- 10:17Speaker 2: I know that more than that just to get through
- 10:18Speaker 2: the day. In sports, the Vets beat the Guardians six'.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Five yankees lost to The cardinals three to. ONE nfl
- 10:24Speaker 2: preseason starts. Tonight panthers play The cardinals at eight And,
- 10:28Speaker 2: ladies if we love our, guys we can't criticize.
- 10:31Speaker 1: THEM i like, this.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Okay apparently criticizing a man hurts more than just his,
- 10:36Speaker 2: Feelings it hurts his. Health victor researchers examine ninety couples
- 10:40Speaker 2: during their first year of. Marriage we go back to
- 10:42Speaker 2: the newer couples again like we were talking about, before
- 10:45Speaker 2: and they found their negative behaviors such as, criticism, sarcasm
- 10:49Speaker 2: or put downs weaken the husband's immune. System, wow oh my,
- 10:53Speaker 2: goodness it's really. Serious.
- 10:55Speaker 1: Listen there is power in your words for. Sure.
