- 0:04Speaker 2: Wr Well, Greg jareded the best legal analyst in America.
- 0:11Speaker 2: You can watch them on Fox News and of course
- 0:13Speaker 2: read all of his columns foxnews dot com and get
- 0:16Speaker 2: his excellent books. You'll love his books The Constitution and
- 0:22Speaker 2: Other Patriotic Documents and Trial of the Century about the
- 0:26Speaker 2: most amazing trial ever. And of course his books about
- 0:30Speaker 2: the witch hunt and the Russia hoax and all of that.
- 0:33Speaker 2: And he's with us now, Greg Jarrett, how you.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Doing, Hey, Mark, good to be with you. I'm fine. Thanks.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Hey, Let's start with Letitia James. If all these documents
- 0:44Speaker 2: are real, I assume they are. This is an open
- 0:46Speaker 2: and shut case, isn't it.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Well you would think so. But of course, you know
- 0:53Speaker 1: in Virginia where she's been indicted, you know, I mean,
- 0:59Speaker 1: I that's mostly a liberal eastern district. The jury pool
- 1:04Speaker 1: is going to be inherently biased. So, but you're right
- 1:09Speaker 1: about the facts of the case. When you tell a
- 1:12Speaker 1: bank that your home is primary or secondary and you
- 1:15Speaker 1: get a lower mortgage because of it, but then you
- 1:18Speaker 1: rent it, you actually rent it out, that's fraud. I mean,
- 1:23Speaker 1: you're lying to the lender who is deceived about the risk,
- 1:26Speaker 1: and the documents would appear to incriminate James. And you know,
- 1:32Speaker 1: she can hardly claim og it was a miscommunication or
- 1:36Speaker 1: sloppy paperwork when I said it was primary or secondary,
- 1:40Speaker 1: because she's on record is the Attorney General New York
- 1:43Speaker 1: stating that that's never an excuse under the law. You know,
- 1:48Speaker 1: even worse, last year, she issued a public statement declaring
- 1:53Speaker 1: that you know, everyday Americans cannot lie to a bank
- 1:57Speaker 1: to get a mortgage. Powerful people cannot heat to get
- 2:00Speaker 1: better loans. So her own words will come back to
- 2:06Speaker 1: honoring Cord And think about what she did. I mean,
- 2:10Speaker 1: she brazenly promised to abuse her office to get Trump,
- 2:16Speaker 1: and then she went about doing it. And now she
- 2:19Speaker 1: has the audacity to complain that Trump is weaponizing the
- 2:23Speaker 1: law against her. This is a person with no sense
- 2:28Speaker 1: of self awareness.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Yeah, hey, if you are running for as an attornational
- 2:33Speaker 2: if you're running and you say I'm gonna pick a guy,
- 2:36Speaker 2: I'm gonna target this guy, I'm gonna get him somehow.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Is there anything illegal about that?
- 2:42Speaker 1: Well, in a normal state in New York is not.
- 2:47Speaker 1: You know, it's a desparable offense. It's an egregious breach
- 2:51Speaker 1: of ethics to run on the promise of a preordained
- 2:57Speaker 1: outcome in a case of against a singular individual, and
- 3:02Speaker 1: you haven't even been elected to the office. You don't
- 3:05Speaker 1: have access to the evidence or the files. I mean,
- 3:10Speaker 1: that's exactly what a prosecutor is not supposed to do.
- 3:18Speaker 1: But you know, the bar in New York, which is
- 3:20Speaker 1: supposed to enforce ethics standards, is highly politicized and liberal,
- 3:28Speaker 1: and I you know, they've been cheering on Letitia James
- 3:32Speaker 1: in our efforts to go after Trump.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Yeah, they're very anti Trump too, as you saw what
- 3:37Speaker 2: they took Rudy Giuliani's law license, basically just forgeting the
- 3:40Speaker 2: Trump supporter. But right, okay, John Bolton, John Bolton, that
- 3:46Speaker 2: looks like an open and shutcase.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, you know, as indictments go, this one
- 3:55Speaker 1: is rich in details justifying the eighteen charges against him.
- 4:01Speaker 1: It's a powerful case of criminality using email and messaging
- 4:07Speaker 1: apps to send documents classified as high as top secret
- 4:12Speaker 1: to his family members who don't have security clearance. Now
- 4:16Speaker 1: you know, he apparently did it as a diary to
- 4:18Speaker 1: help him write a book. The sheer volume of material
- 4:22Speaker 1: more than a thousand pages that were seized is as
- 4:27Speaker 1: stunning as the alleged content. There were material there about
- 4:34Speaker 1: missile launches, future attacks, covert operations, sources and methods, strategic communications,
- 4:41Speaker 1: even weapons of mass destruction. So yeah, I mean it's
- 4:45Speaker 1: really hard to argue that somehow all of that is
- 4:48Speaker 1: not highly protected and privileged material, particularly since his systems
- 4:55Speaker 1: were actually hacked by Iran. That's in the indictment. That
- 5:00Speaker 1: only supports the case against him because it's precisely what
- 5:03Speaker 1: the espionageac was designed to prevent. So it looks brazen,
- 5:09Speaker 1: at the very least, grossly reckless. But under the law,
- 5:15Speaker 1: recklessness is not an excuse because it's criminal, whether it's
- 5:19Speaker 1: wilful or negligent.
- 5:22Speaker 2: This excuse I needed to write a book. Did you
- 5:25Speaker 2: just write for the most detailed books in the world
- 5:28Speaker 2: without any classified documents. It can be done.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Yeah, no, it can be done. But you know this
- 5:35Speaker 1: has been a pattern by Bolton. He has always tried
- 5:40Speaker 1: to leverage any position in government he's had for financial
- 5:46Speaker 1: profit by writing books. And you know, in this video case, yeah,
- 5:51Speaker 1: he's presumed innocent, of course, he's pled, not guilty, but
- 5:55Speaker 1: you know, it looks like he tried to boost the
- 5:58Speaker 1: content by telling secrets, including you know, top secret classified information.
- 6:05Speaker 1: The judge warned him about it. The DJ tried to
- 6:09Speaker 1: stop the book, and the judge had to let it
- 6:13Speaker 1: go because the publisher went ahead and released it while
- 6:17Speaker 1: they were litigating it. And the judge Warnbolton, you're gambling
- 6:21Speaker 1: with national security and you are exposing yourself to criminal charges.
- 6:27Speaker 1: And in fact that's what happened.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I tell you, Greg Jarrety, great legal And let's
- 6:32Speaker 2: say this whole NBA gambling scandal and looks like there
- 6:36Speaker 2: might be an NFL former player, and what do you
- 6:39Speaker 2: think this is a lot of people are going to
- 6:41Speaker 2: go to jail for this, aren't they?
- 6:43Speaker 1: Yeah? I mean I read the indictment. It is stumming
- 6:48Speaker 1: in how blatant the gambling schemes were. So you're talking
- 6:54Speaker 1: about extortion, fraud, money laundering, a host of other crimes.
- 6:58Speaker 1: You know, art there had long been whispers about corruption
- 7:03Speaker 1: in basketball, tanking games, rests on the take, but the
- 7:10Speaker 1: scope and breath of the illegal gambling here is truly shocking.
- 7:16Speaker 1: More than thirty arrests across an eleven states involving four
- 7:21Speaker 1: major mafia crime families, famous athletes, millions of victims. So
- 7:29Speaker 1: I would commend the FBI for digging into this taking
- 7:33Speaker 1: aggressive action to stop it. You Charles Barkley, I think
- 7:37Speaker 1: was right. He got into an argument on television, you know,
- 7:42Speaker 1: with another former player, and he said, this is not
- 7:45Speaker 1: about addiction. It's about stupidity and greed and avarice and
- 7:50Speaker 1: conceit and an utter disdain for the law. And Charles's right.
- 7:56Speaker 1: I suspect there are a lot of other sports figures
- 7:58Speaker 1: out there who are quite nervous about an imminent knock
- 8:03Speaker 1: on the door, and I think there will be a
- 8:06Speaker 1: lot of knocks.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Yeah, these players are multi multi multimillionaires, so obviously they
- 8:12Speaker 2: weren't in it for the money. What do you think
- 8:13Speaker 2: were they being blackmailed or were they some other behavior
- 8:16Speaker 2: there's that the mob knew about.
- 8:19Speaker 1: You know, it's it's hard to say. I mean, these
- 8:22Speaker 1: guys have so much money and they're treated as such
- 8:26Speaker 1: superstars and privileged and elite that for them, you know,
- 8:31Speaker 1: it's like monopoly money. They're playing a game, you know,
- 8:34Speaker 1: can I get away with it? And I mean it's
- 8:38Speaker 1: completely stupid. Why would you jeopardize you know, millions of
- 8:44Speaker 1: dollars that you have already for you know, what's the
- 8:50Speaker 1: equivalent of nichols and dimes and ruin your reputation, your integrity,
- 8:54Speaker 1: your good name. I mean, it's foolhearty and so Charles
- 8:58Speaker 1: is right, it's stupidity.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Well, Greg Jarrett, great stuff. You can follow him on Twitter,
- 9:06Speaker 2: of course, and read his columns Foxnews dot com and
- 9:10Speaker 2: you assume them all over television. And get his books.
