- 2:13Speaker 1: have a relationship with anyone else in your family? Mister Waite, Yeah,
- 2:18Speaker 1: she had a close relationship with my children, and she
- 2:20Speaker 1: met virtually everyone in my immediate family, Miss Cathay. Did
- 2:25Speaker 1: miss Maxwell stay in contact with your children after the
- 2:28Speaker 1: relationship ended, mister Waite, Not that I know of. I
- 2:31Speaker 1: do believe my daughter Emily saw her in an airport once.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Mister Spector. Did anyone else in your family stay in
- 2:37Speaker 1: touch with Miss Maxwell after your relationship ended? Mister wait Nos,
- 2:43Speaker 1: Miss Callen, I think he answered that, mister Waite, not
- 2:46Speaker 1: that I know of. Question. We're going to switch gears
- 2:49Speaker 1: a little bit and we're going to turn to mister Epstein.
- 2:52Speaker 1: You talked about how you met mister Epstein at the
- 2:53Speaker 1: dinner was what was your first impression of him? Answer?
- 2:58Speaker 1: I found mister Epstein somewhat. Ever, I don't really recall,
- 3:01Speaker 1: like I said my opening statement, he was off putting somewhat.
- 3:04Speaker 1: I didn't really pay significant attention to it that much.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Question did you know anything about him prior to meeting him? Answer? No,
- 3:13Speaker 1: mister Grant, And you said you thought he was off putting.
- 3:17Speaker 1: What made you think that he was off putting? Answer?
- 3:20Speaker 1: It was just well, he was introduced to me as
- 3:23Speaker 1: they were flying on his plane, the delegation, the group
- 3:26Speaker 1: on a tour through Asia. I think the way he
- 3:28Speaker 1: carried himself and a few comments. It was a group.
- 3:31Speaker 1: I don't remember having a one on one conversation with him.
- 3:34Speaker 1: It was just kind of a large group there. You
- 3:35Speaker 1: know the table, it's probably this size, mister Grant, And
- 3:40Speaker 1: you would say it was roughly the same feeling as
- 3:42Speaker 1: to why you thought he was arrogant as well, Miss Callen,
- 3:45Speaker 1: do you want to clarify the question a bit, mister Grant. Yeah,
- 3:48Speaker 1: so you said he was off putting an arrogant. You
- 3:51Speaker 1: just described what made him seem off putting. Would that
- 3:55Speaker 1: same description fit on why you thought he was arrogant
- 3:57Speaker 1: as well, mister Waite, Yeah, just kind of the way
- 4:00Speaker 1: he carried himself. Maybe. Question did mister Epstein have a
- 4:03Speaker 1: reputation amongst other people that were there at the table
- 4:07Speaker 1: that you heard about? Answer no. Question was mister Epstein
- 4:11Speaker 1: aware of your romantic relationship with miss Maxwell while you
- 4:14Speaker 1: were dating her? Answer yes? Question when did mister Epstein
- 4:18Speaker 1: become aware of your relationship? Answer I don't know. Question
- 4:22Speaker 1: do you know how he became aware of it? Answer?
- 4:25Speaker 1: I don't know for sure. Mister Spector, how do you
- 4:27Speaker 1: know he was aware of the relationship? Then, mister Waite.
- 4:31Speaker 1: I did meet him at one point in Miss Maxwell's
- 4:33Speaker 1: residence early in our relationship. Miss Cathay. Can you describe
- 4:38Speaker 1: more about the circumstances of that meeting and how that
- 4:41Speaker 1: conversation went. Answer mister Waite. Miss Maxwell was hosting a
- 4:45Speaker 1: dinner event. We were getting ready and then she announced
- 4:47Speaker 1: that Jeffrey you wanted to meet me and he'd be
- 4:49Speaker 1: there shortly, and he kind of appeared. It was quite odd.
- 4:53Speaker 1: I felt and uncomfortable since he was our ex boyfriend.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Miss Cathay. Did she give you any information about him
- 4:59Speaker 1: in prepper for meeting him? Mister Waite, No, not really,
- 5:03Speaker 1: mister Spector, so you knew that he was her ex boyfriend.
- 5:06Speaker 1: So was that from conversation that you had with Miss
- 5:09Speaker 1: Maxwell or someone else? Answer yes question with Miss Maxwell.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Answer yes. Question what did she tell you about him? Answer?
- 5:18Speaker 1: She told me that he was like a brilliant investor
- 5:20Speaker 1: money manager. Question So she only told you positive things
- 5:24Speaker 1: about her ex boyfriend? Answer yes, and that they ended
- 5:27Speaker 1: their relationship. I think it was on her fortieth birthday.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Question by Miss Cathay. You mentioned this briefly earlier, but
- 5:36Speaker 1: how often did you see or interact with mister Epstein
- 5:38Speaker 1: through the course of your relationship with Miss Maxwell. Answer
- 5:43Speaker 1: there was only two other times after that meeting at
- 5:45Speaker 1: the sixty fifth Street residence, and those were both literally
- 5:49Speaker 1: running into him like on the street. Question these were
- 5:53Speaker 1: brief conversations then, answer very brief. Question. Do you happen
- 5:57Speaker 1: to know what you were talking about with them? Answer? No,
- 6:00Speaker 1: I do not recall. Question was he particularly interested in
- 6:04Speaker 1: your business or anything else? Answer the meeting at sixty
- 6:07Speaker 1: fifth Street, he asked a lot about what I was
- 6:09Speaker 1: investing in, you know that type of thing. Question Did
- 6:13Speaker 1: you get the impression that he was after information about
- 6:15Speaker 1: your company specifically? Answer? It was quite odd. I couldn't
- 6:19Speaker 1: really figure it out, frankly. Question so no, you were
- 6:22Speaker 1: just unclear on why he was asking or what he
- 6:25Speaker 1: was asking about. Answer yeah, I got more of the
- 6:28Speaker 1: sense he was filling me out. Question in retrospect, do
- 6:32Speaker 1: you have any idea what he might have been about? Answer?
- 6:34Speaker 1: No question. Did Miss Maxwell ever express concerns that mister
- 6:38Speaker 1: Epstein would have had a negative reaction to the two
- 6:41Speaker 1: of you dating mister Waite? No question. Did the nature
- 6:45Speaker 1: of your relationship with mister Epstein change at any point
- 6:48Speaker 1: while you were dating Miss Maxwell. Answer no, I never
- 6:52Speaker 1: really had a relationship with mister Epstein. Mister spector, did
- 6:56Speaker 1: you ever communicate with mister Ebstein over the phone or
- 6:59Speaker 1: email or anything, mister wait no, specter besides the in
- 7:04Speaker 1: person interactions that you described, Ted wait no, not that
- 7:07Speaker 1: I know of, Miss Catay. Could you please go into
- 7:11Speaker 1: a little bit more detail about Miss Maxwell's occupation. Answer sure,
- 7:15Speaker 1: I'll try to speak up for those in the back.
- 7:17Speaker 1: I can only go based on what she told me.
- 7:19Speaker 1: She told me that she was after the romantic relationship
- 7:23Speaker 1: with mister Epstein ended. You know, prior to that, she
- 7:25Speaker 1: had managed his properties and his staff, and you know,
- 7:28Speaker 1: acted like kind of a wife would. She then transitioned
- 7:32Speaker 1: to an employee status as an estate manager after we
- 7:36Speaker 1: began dating. She minimized those activities and was moving out
- 7:39Speaker 1: of that out of that role, and she was always
- 7:42Speaker 1: busy investing in other things, small businesses. She was very entrepreneurial,
- 7:47Speaker 1: and you know, she claimed she paid for her residence
- 7:49Speaker 1: with some Internet investment. Question. Couple things to follow up
- 7:54Speaker 1: on there, but first, so she was still employed by
- 7:57Speaker 1: mister Epstein while you were dating. Can you clarify the
- 7:59Speaker 1: time forrame of that. When did she stop working for Epstein?
- 8:03Speaker 1: Or excuse me, let me rephrase, did she ever stop
- 8:05Speaker 1: working for mister Epstein while you were together? Answer? I
- 8:09Speaker 1: don't know that for sure. Question but you said she
- 8:11Speaker 1: cut back her time working for him. Answer that's what
- 8:14Speaker 1: she told me. Question Well you didn't know that for sure?
- 8:17Speaker 1: Answer I didn't know that for sure. Question because you
- 8:20Speaker 1: did live in different cities and no verbal response. Question
- 8:25Speaker 1: do you know how often she was going into the office?
- 8:27Speaker 1: Answer I don't know. Question do you know how often
- 8:30Speaker 1: she was communicating with mister Ebstein on a daily basis?
- 8:33Speaker 1: Answer I don't know. Question did you ever visit miss
- 8:36Speaker 1: Maxwell at the office where she worked for mister Epstein?
- 8:39Speaker 1: Answer no, not that I recall. Question did she ever
- 8:42Speaker 1: talk to you about mister Ebstein in the context of
- 8:44Speaker 1: being her employer? Answer not in that context. Question she
- 8:48Speaker 1: never complained about work? Answer no, not that I recall.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Question did she ever complain about any aspect of her job,
- 8:55Speaker 1: even things that maybe were unrelated to mister Epstein? Answer
- 9:00Speaker 1: she didn't get into a lot of details about it. Now,
- 9:03Speaker 1: mister Spector, is asking a question you didn't have questions
- 9:06Speaker 1: for given that she was working you were dating someone
- 9:09Speaker 1: that was working for her ex boyfriend. You didn't have
- 9:11Speaker 1: any questions about that, mister Waite. I was under the
- 9:15Speaker 1: impression that she moved on from that. She talked a
- 9:17Speaker 1: lot about investment ideas and she had other activities, but
- 9:20Speaker 1: very little about I don't recall any conversations about the
- 9:24Speaker 1: day to day activity with mister Epstein's affairs. Miss Cathay
- 9:28Speaker 1: doing the questioning. Now, you were her boyfriend for seven years,
- 9:31Speaker 1: so in your opinion the things that you observed, did
- 9:34Speaker 1: mister Epstein ever manipulate Miss Maxwell into continuing working for him?
- 9:40Speaker 1: Miss Callen, if you have an opinion, mister Waite, yeah,
- 9:43Speaker 1: you're asking me to give an opinion, Miss Cathay, I
- 9:45Speaker 1: am as a long term boyfriend and what you observed
- 9:49Speaker 1: about her, Mister Waite, I could sum it up to say,
- 9:52Speaker 1: he seemed like there was a presence and it was
- 9:54Speaker 1: always there. Miss Cathay. Do you feel like there was
- 9:57Speaker 1: a consequence of the fact that they used to date
- 10:00Speaker 1: mister Wade. I don't know, Mister Spector. It did seem
- 10:04Speaker 1: like mister Epstein knew something about Miss Maxwell that she
- 10:06Speaker 1: was afraid about. Mister Wade. I never got that impression,
- 10:10Speaker 1: Miss Cathay. Question did mister Epstein abuse Miss Maxwell? Answer again,
- 10:15Speaker 1: I don't know. I never never would have witnessed anything directly.
- 10:19Speaker 1: Question did mister Epstein ever ask her coercial or force
- 10:22Speaker 1: her to absect with other people? Answer again, I don't know.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Question she never brought up anything about that, anything about
- 10:29Speaker 1: their previous relationship that ever made you feel uncomfortable or unsafe.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Miss Callen, do you want to chat? They go off
- 10:39Speaker 1: the record, They come back on, Miss Cathay, We'll go
- 10:41Speaker 1: back on the record. Question did miss Maxwell, in the
- 10:44Speaker 1: course of dating her and getting close to her, did
- 10:47Speaker 1: she ever mention that anything happened in her relationship with
- 10:49Speaker 1: mister Epstein that made her feel uncomfortable or unsafe? Answer
- 10:53Speaker 1: not that I can recall. Question did she talk about
- 10:57Speaker 1: anything ever occurring that she regrets? Answer again nothing, nothing
- 11:01Speaker 1: comes to mind. Question was your relationship with Miss Maxwell monogamous? Answer?
- 11:07Speaker 1: I was under the impression it was. Question and what
- 11:10Speaker 1: is miss Maxwell's sexual orientation? Answer She's gets cut off
- 11:14Speaker 1: by his lawyer. Want to go off the record, They
- 11:16Speaker 1: go off the record. They come back on. Question what
- 11:19Speaker 1: was miss Maxwell's sexual orientation? Mister Waite heterosexual. Mister spector,
- 11:25Speaker 1: do you have any reason to believe that she had
- 11:27Speaker 1: any sexual encounters with females? Ted Waite I no, Miss Cathay.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Question during your relationship with Miss Maxwell, did you have
- 11:36Speaker 1: any reason to believe that her romantic relationship with mister
- 11:39Speaker 1: Epstein was continuing while you were dating her? Answer? No,
- 11:43Speaker 1: All right, folks, we're gonna wrap up right here, and
- 11:45Speaker 1: in the next episode dealing with the topic, we're gonna
