- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:03Epstein Chronicles. Whenever we're talking about Jeffrey Epstein, we're talking
- 0:08about a lot of unanswered questions. But I think that
- 0:12the biggest unanswered question when it comes to Epstein is
- 0:16where did his money come from? And how come the
- 0:20financial trail was never really followed, especially considering that there's
- 0:24been so much evidence throughout the years. I mean, the
- 0:27guy had fake banks, for God's sakes. You would think
- 0:31that a guy that had fake banks and had all
- 0:33these front operations, that the government would be all over it.
- 0:37But when you're working for the government, well that kind
- 0:40of gives you the cover you're looking for, doesn't it.
- 0:43So today we have an article from the Miami Herald
- 0:47and the headline Epstein moved millions through mysterious Virgin Islands
- 0:50bank right before arrest. This article was authored by Shirso
- 0:56Das Gupta. In the months leading up Tojeffrey Epstein's arrest
- 1:01on federal sex trafficking charges on July sixth, twenty nineteen,
- 1:05a small US Virgin Islands bank he owned that had
- 1:08employed no one and laid dormant for years, suddenly came alive.
- 1:13A flory of transactions totaling more than twenty million passed
- 1:17through the bank named Southern Country International from April to
- 1:21early July that year, according to a Miami Herald investigation
- 1:25based on the recently released documents by the US Justice Department.
- 1:30And it's just one of the many schemes in scams
- 1:32and plots. This guy had schemes in scams and plots
- 1:36wrapped up together, and all of it was being done
- 1:42with the tacit approval of at least some people in
- 1:45the American government. Who those people are, Well, that's anybody's
- 1:48guests and anybody telling you that they know, well, they're
- 1:52lying to you. But there was some clandestine organization within
- 1:56the United States government, some black project that was running
- 2:02Jeffrey Epstein And those are just the facts. And months
- 2:07after the disgraced finance here was found dead in a
- 2:10Manhattan detention facility on August tenth, an additional twenty five
- 2:14million was moved through Southern Country, with roughly a quarter
- 2:17of that amount coming from unspecified sources. No, let's not
- 2:22look at the money trail though. Let's continue to talk
- 2:25about the most salacious, unverifiable details, because that's what people
- 2:31want to do. And honestly, at this point it's getting tiresome,
- 2:35and coverage of this has become just a gigantic circus,
- 2:39and it's making me want to talk about something else.
- 2:41To tell you the truth, all these tourists want to
- 2:44show up and they all know what they're talking about. Cool.
- 2:47Let them run the story, let them continue to tell it,
- 2:51and I'll just move on to other things. How about that,
- 2:53Because obviously there's no appetite for the truth anymore. It's
- 2:56all about selaciousness and using this topic as a political cudgel,
- 3:00and I won't take part in it. I just won't
- 3:02do it. Southern Country ended twenty nineteen with less than
- 3:07five hundred thousand dollars, leading Virgin Island prosecutors who later
- 3:11sued Epstein's estate to question in court where nearly thirteen
- 3:15million dollars the bank held in mid December twenty nineteen
- 3:18went in two weeks. According to The New York Times,
- 3:22we covered this story when it was happening. All of
- 3:24a sudden, it's breaking news. One thing that I've noticed
- 3:27is that the legacy media likes to recycle stories that
- 3:31have been out there for a very long time. And
- 3:33act like they're breaking news, while they would have been
- 3:36breaking news in twenty nineteen if you bitch asses weren't
- 3:40so worried about Russia. US federal and local Virgin Island
- 3:44investigators had also jointly opened the wire fraud probe in
- 3:47twenty twenty into the mysterious transfer of fifteen million to
- 3:51Southern Country from an Epstein account at Deutsche Bank in
- 3:55New York, the day after the convicted sex offender died,
- 3:59but the investigation was closed four years later. A Federal
- 4:02Bureau of Investigation memo says. The memo does not state
- 4:06any findings or the reason for the closure because they
- 4:10got paid off. Come on, what do you think all
- 4:14that money going to the USVII was? It was a payoff.
- 4:19Leon Black just ponied up sixty two million because it
- 4:22was a good time for him. It was to get
- 4:25him out of trouble, to get him out of the crosshairs.
- 4:27But instead of focusing on that, people want to focus
- 4:30on bullshit and all the people that are doing that. Congratulations,
- 4:34you're a part of the problem. You're now enabling Jeffrey
- 4:37Epstein's friends. Hope you're happy with yourself. Go collect that bag.
- 4:44The Herald sent detailed questions to the US Justice Department,
- 4:47but did not receive any response. The Virgin Islands Prosecutor's
- 4:50office also did not answer The Herald's questions. Why would
- 4:54they denise George? The USVII all in on it, and
- 5:00they got more money than all the survivors put together.
- 5:03But I'm sure that's not a big deal, right. Everybody
- 5:05out here is just so pro survivor. Meanwhile, the truth
- 5:09is the vast majority of people don't give a fuck.
- 5:13They want to score points, they want to be tribalists,
- 5:17and frankly, I've had my fill. And the good thing
- 5:20for me is I'm not beholding to anybody. I'll not
- 5:23beholding to donors, I'm not behold into advertisers, nobody. So
- 5:28you can damn well guarantee when I say something on
- 5:31this podcast, it's because I believe it. The Herald's reporting
- 5:34provides the first full accounting of how Epstein used this
- 5:37obscure financial institution in the Caribbean, likely the first of
- 5:41its kind in the US territory. And how do you
- 5:44think that he got that bank there? How do you
- 5:47think that all of that was set up magically? He
- 5:50didn't have help within the USVII government. He just showed
- 5:54up and was like, Yo, I want a bank. Hook
- 5:55it up. Of course not people were getting paid. Twenty twelve,
- 6:01in the US Virgin Islands, where Epstein had established many
- 6:03of his businesses, it was moving to allow the creation
- 6:07of international banking entities. The specialized banks typically offer favorable
- 6:12tax incentives, but are not allowed to have customers in
- 6:15the territories in which they are established. The idea behind
- 6:20these financial institutions, effectively offshore of banks on US soil,
- 6:24is that they encourage foreign investment and generate revenue and employment.
- 6:29Stop it. What they do is give rich people a
- 6:32vehicle to park their money and hide it. That's what
- 6:35the translation is. I'm so tired of the bullshit. I'm
- 6:39so tired of the half step in and the half
- 6:41measures and people make and pretend they care. And at
- 6:44this point, I don't really give a fluck. Who's offended.
- 6:47If you're on the left, if you're on the right,
- 6:50I don't care be offended because I'm offended by your behavior.
- 6:55I'm offended by your bitch ass tribalism. But federal authorities
- 6:59have more or recently warned that they generally do not
- 7:02have the rigorous background checks of traditional banks and are
- 7:05high risk institutions that threaten the integrity of the American
- 7:09financial system. Oh, you needed a whole ass report to
- 7:12figure that out. Well, what do you know. A bank
- 7:16that none of us are ever going to use that's
- 7:18offshore is being used as a vehicle to launder money.
- 7:22I am completely shocked, breaking news. If they weren't trying
- 7:26to launder money, they'd bring their money to the local
- 7:28federal credit union. Just a month after John DeJong, then
- 7:35governor of the US Virgin Islands, signed the law, in
- 7:38September of twenty twelve, Epstein's longtime tax attorney, Erica Keller Hall's,
- 7:43wrote Epstein a memo about the advantages of having an
- 7:46offshore a bank. She noted that the island's Banking and
- 7:49Insurance Office did not yet have the manpower to finalize
- 7:53the rules that would govern the application process, but that
- 7:57the agencies then head John McDonald had promised to proceed
- 8:01with their application if they got all of their paperwork
- 8:04in order. And I'm sure that mister McDonald got nothing
- 8:06in return for that. I'm sure he was doing that
- 8:08because he was just a good guy, right, and he
- 8:11wanted to tell Jeffrey Epstein out there was no quid
- 8:13pro quo. We anticipate having a leadership role in the
- 8:17formation of the application and the drafting of the regulations,
- 8:22keller Halls wrote Epstein in the October twenty third, twenty
- 8:26twelve memo. Epstein's bank would be the first existing IBE
- 8:31in the United States Virgin Islands, and executive summary read
- 8:35keller Halls did not respond to The Herald's request for
- 8:38a comment, and why would she? Again, that is the
- 8:42standard operating procedure. They're not going to respond. Why would
- 8:47they say anything about the story when they haven't said
- 8:49anything all these years. Epstein applied for a banking license
- 8:55in March of twenty thirteen. He called it Financial Strategy
- 8:58Group Ltd. Roughly a year later, in January twenty fourteen,
- 9:03Epstein was scheduled to meet with McDonald and Saint Thomas,
- 9:06and another meeting was scheduled in October that year. The
- 9:10agendas for the meetings are unclear from the emails. We
- 9:13know what the agenda is. The agenda is to give
- 9:17Jeffrey Epstein the license. That's what the agenda was. McDonald
- 9:22granted Epstein a banking license on December nineteenth, twenty fourteen,
- 9:26a month after the island's government finalized the regulations governing
- 9:30offshore of banks on its territory. McDonald also used his
- 9:35discretionary power to waive the requirement that the usvii's international
- 9:39banking entities employ at least three people. The Herald was
- 9:43unable to find current contact details for McDonald. Just another
- 9:47guy that's lost in the wind? Is it? Tell me
- 9:50again about that investigation. Tell me how Jeffrey Epstein was
- 9:53looked at, how all of his associates were looked at,
- 9:57and how everything we're doing now is just to repeat
- 10:00bunch of clown ass motherfuckers. Epstein later changed the name
- 10:04of the bank to Southern Country International Ltd. In twenty fifteen.
- 10:09That Epstein, a registered sex offender, was able to obtain
- 10:12his license at all is unusual. No, it's not. We
- 10:16all know that the fix is in, just like with Maxwell.
- 10:18Nobody wants to admit it, but that's what's going on.
- 10:21Tell me a little bit more about the great fireworks display.
- 10:25Fuck outa here. I don't care about any of it.
- 10:29Traditional bank operators and owners in the United States are
- 10:32subject to rigorous background checks and fall under the oversight
- 10:36of the US Treasury Department and typically the Federal Reserve.
- 10:40But this was not the first time Epstein, who employed
- 10:43Cecil DeJong, the governor's wife, as the office manager for
- 10:47several of his businesses, had to receive preferential treatment by
- 10:51the government in the Virgin Islands. Yo, I told you
- 10:54all of this years ago, and I call mad flack
- 10:57for it. Oh, come on, there's no way that the
- 10:59government on it down on the USVII. Denise George is
- 11:02the only one trying to get anything going here though.
- 11:05She was trying to get paid like everybody else. And
- 11:08to all the dumb fucks that were out here running
- 11:09that narrative, well guess what you were wrong again. But
- 11:12these days that doesn't matter. All that matters is that
- 11:15you tickle people's bias, right, That's all that matters. While
- 11:20defending itself in court against the Virgin Islands accusation that
- 11:24JP Morgan had enabled Epstein, the bank alleged that Governor
- 11:28de Jong had approved a tax break for epstein similarly
- 11:31named firm Southern Trust Company, that helped Epstein generate around
- 11:35three hundred million in profit over six years. How much
- 11:39of that money was used to abuse people? Ah? Good question, right,
- 11:43Maybe someone should ask John DeJong. The bank also alleged
- 11:48that Epstein in twenty eleven, had sent secialed DeJong proposed
- 11:52legislation to ease travel restrictions for sex offenders under the
- 11:56territorial laws. Cecialed DeJong The Record Show later apologized to
- 12:01Ebstein because the law had passed without his suggested amendments.
- 12:05That had nothing to see here, Come on, just a
- 12:07couple of friends, A couple of friends thrown around emails.
- 12:11Danny Savalis, John Dejong's attorney told The Herald that DeJong
- 12:16had not extended any personal favor to Epstein and had
- 12:18not had any conversations with McDonald about Southern Country International. Governor.
- 12:24DeJong had no role in the operation of Southern Country International.
- 12:27Savala said he had no involvement in its banking license
- 12:31application or in any subsequent review of its operations. DeJong
- 12:36declined to discuss his wife's relationship and employment with Epstein. Well,
- 12:40I wonder why if everything was on the up and up,
- 12:43don't you think you'd want to get that out there?
- 12:45And let's remember these are democrats. Where's the uproar. Are
- 12:51we going to have Robert Garcia and the Commission come
- 12:54out and demand we get testimony from DeJong and his
- 12:58wife and from all the other officials that were in
- 13:01the USVII. Well, if you want to be taken serious,
- 13:03that's what you would be doing. But we all know
- 13:06they don't want to be taken serious. You have one
- 13:09side of the committee doing everything they can to protect Trump,
- 13:12and then the other side of the committee. That's all
- 13:14they're focused on. Let's get Trump. Meanwhile, the story's in
- 13:18the middle. Why exactly Epstein created an offshore a bank
- 13:25is unclear. Besides paying for occasional operating expenses, Southern Country
- 13:30International remained dormant for years. Business and accounting record show
- 13:35the bank held a little less than five hundred thousand
- 13:37in its checking account at First Bank in San Juan,
- 13:40Puerto Rico, and by December twenty seventeen had yet to
- 13:44hire a single employee, and not one regulator down in
- 13:47the USVII had anything to say. Almost like they were
- 13:51in on it. Huh. But in twenty nineteen it suddenly
- 13:56came alive with a dizzying series of transactions worth tens
- 13:59of million dollars. Epstein wired two point six million in
- 14:04three installments in April of that year to Southern Country.
- 14:07In June and July, he deposited seventeen point seven million
- 14:11after cashing out an investment portfolio. Those funds were then
- 14:16debited to Southern Trust Company, the similarly named firm that
- 14:19he owned. Why he did not send the funds directly
- 14:22to Southern Trust after selling his investments is unclear. No,
- 14:27it's not. He wanted to paint the money up. He
- 14:28wanted to color it, bundle it, hide some of it.
- 14:32This is not rocket science. On July thirty first, less
- 14:38than two weeks before he was found dead, Epstein's Southern
- 14:41Country Bank wired two million to a third firm he owned,
- 14:44and paid one point six million to Richard Kahn, Epstein's
- 14:47longtime accountant. The transactions continued after Epstein's death. In November
- 14:53of twenty nineteen, around nine point three million, four point
- 14:57six million from a trust controlled by his longtime business
- 14:59CA Council Darren Endyke and the rest from unknown sources
- 15:03was deposited to Southern Country, and two days before Christmas,
- 15:07Southern Country received fifteen and a half million from Epstein's
- 15:10estate and sent back two point six million. Cohn and Indyke,
- 15:14who together managed his estate, told a Virgin Islands court
- 15:18that it was for a loan Southern Country had issued
- 15:20to Epstein to pay for his legal defense. Local prosecutors
- 15:24did not find any loan agreement because there was none.
- 15:28It's all a hustle, it's all a game to these people.
- 15:31They know they're not going to be held accountable. Who's
- 15:33going to hold them accountable? That same day, December twenty third,
- 15:37twenty nineteen, Epstein's Southern Country Bank also paid out a
- 15:40twenty four million dollar check to a Southern Trust Company.
- 15:43Southern Countries ending balance, according to legal documents, at the
- 15:47end of the year, returned to its initial value of
- 15:50less than five hundred thousand dollars. Money laundering, fraud, all
- 15:55sorts of wild shit. Some of the transactions may have
- 15:59been a proper, well, no shit, All those transactions were
- 16:04improper because that bank should have never been set up
- 16:06in the first place. Under the territorial law, Southern Country
- 16:12was only allowed to do business with people or companies
- 16:14that were not from the Virgin Islands. But the similarly
- 16:18named Southern Trust Company was incorporated in and operated out
- 16:22of the islands in Dyke, did not answer The Herald's
- 16:25questions about the transactions. The Herald could not find current
- 16:29contact information for account and Con. They're on the run.
- 16:33These dudes want nothing to do with the story. They
- 16:35just want all the benefits. And if this was Rico,
- 16:39Con and Endyke would both be in the crosshairs. Southern
- 16:44Countries' activities raised eyebrows among compliance officers at traditional banks
- 16:48where it maintained checking and brokerage accounts, but only after
- 16:52Epstein's death. A majority of the affected accounts were opened
- 16:56in twenty nineteen, and the subsequent funding of those accounts
- 17:00appears to have been conducted in a wilfully deceitful manner
- 17:03intended to disguise the sources of funds as originating with
- 17:07Jeffrey Epstein. TD Bank noted in a report to the
- 17:11US Treasury Department after conducting a review a month after
- 17:14Epstein's death. The report, known as a Suspicious Activity Report,
- 17:19and another filed by the bank Charles Schwab, were initially
- 17:22released by the US Justice Department as part of the
- 17:25Epstein files, but have since been completely redacted. Oh I
- 17:29wonder why you guys onto the game yet, Or do
- 17:33you want to hear more about Slacia's bullshit? Do you
- 17:36want to hear about the chup of Cabra and how
- 17:38he was working with Jeffrey Epstein in the massade? Or
- 17:40do you want the truth? Because if you want the truth,
- 17:42this is where you're going to go to find it.
- 17:48The US Justice Department did not respond when The Herald
- 17:51asked why the reports had been redacted. The US Virgin
- 17:54Island settled its lawsuit with Epstein's estate in twenty twenty
- 17:58two for one hundred and five million. And all the
- 18:01people that set these banks up, all these people that
- 18:04were giving them help, they're all in on it, and
- 18:07they ate off both sides of the plate. When Epstein
- 18:09was alive, they were enjoying his large ass. When he died,
- 18:12they sued and they said that they were victims too.
- 18:16And I told you at the time it was bullshit,
- 18:19and it's even more bullshit now. So what's Congress is
- 18:21going to do? Are they going to subpoena all the
- 18:24people from down in the US Virgin Islands? Are they
- 18:26going to bring them in and talk to them and
- 18:28find out why they were taking money from Jeffrey Epstein
- 18:31and why they called themselves victims in the aftermath. Well
- 18:34they should be, but they won't. And that's because that
- 18:37stupid ask Congressional Committee was never about finding the truth.
- 18:42For one side, it was about protecting Trump, and for
- 18:45the other side, it was about getting Trump. Meanwhile, you
- 18:49me the survivors, and the truth, Well we're left in
- 18:52the middle. All the information that goes with this episode
- 18:57can be found in the description box.
