PADRES POSTCAST: MICHAEL KING + BULLPEN DOMINATE! Machado Powers Padres Past Braves In 1-0 Thriller
Michael King looked like an ace again and Manny Machado supplied all the offense as the San Diego Padres opened their series against the Atlanta Braves with a huge 1-0 victory at Petco Park.
King delivered seven shutout innings, Adrian Morejon and Mason Miller slammed the door, and Machado’s fourth-inning home run proved to be the difference against one of baseball’s best teams.
The Padres stranded nine runners and went 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position, but elite pitching and one swing from Manny were enough to secure a huge victory over Atlanta.
