- 1:24Here are your hosts. James Seyfried and Brett Martin
- 1:29performed. As he was passing by, he saw a
- 1:32man blind for birth. His disciples questioned the
- 1:35rabbi who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born
- 1:39blind. Neither this man nor his
- 1:40parents, seeing that Jesus answered this came about so that
- 1:44God's word it might be displayed in him.
- 1:48We must do the works of him who sent me while I while one of his
- 1:52day. Night is coming when no one can
- 1:54work as long as I am in the world, I am the light of.
- 1:59After he said these things, he stood on the ground, made some
- 2:02mud from the saliva, and spread the mud on his eyes.
- 2:05Go, he told him, wash in the pool of Shalom, which means sin.
- 2:11So he left, washed and came back to see his neighbors and those
- 2:15who formerly and seen him as a beggar said.
- 2:23Isn't this the man who sat there?
- 2:25Some said. He's the.
- 2:27He's the one, no others were saying he, but he looks like
- 2:30him. He kept saying I'm the one.
- 2:33Therefore they asked him then how were your eyes open?
- 2:37And he answered The man called Jesus made mud, spread it on my
- 2:41eyes and told me go to Shalom and wash.
- 2:45So I went and washed and I received my sight.
- 2:48Where is he they asked. I don't know.
- 2:51He said yes, we just pray Father God, we are all thankful to be
- 2:56here. I was thankful for this
- 2:58opportunity God to see this place, this wonderful place.
- 3:03Father what we know that great miracle and taking place and
- 3:08Jesus was here and healed a man born blind and we don't know
- 3:12maybe he healed others while he was here.
- 3:14We're thankful for that we're thankful for this opportunity.
- 3:17We're thankful for that man. You know that he's got sight
- 3:20class, but he also received what was most such from Jesus and,
- 3:27and, and, and, and salvation. Father, we're thankful for this
- 3:31opportunity. We're thankful for this place.
- 3:33We're thankful, Father, for all that we see.
- 3:36Lord, and I pray that you continue to bless us.
- 3:39Continue to bless this place and bless this people.
- 3:42We. Love you, praise you and thank
- 3:43you in Jesus name. Some of you may not know, but
- 3:49where we're standing is the southern steps, as he just said,
- 3:52as we're entering into the temple.
- 3:56And this would have most likely been the place where Peter stood
- 4:00and preached on the day of Pentecost.
- 4:02So I'm going to read for us Acts chapter 2 and just give you one
- 4:04quick encouraging word that said Peter stood up with the 11,
- 4:08raised his voice and proclaimed fellow Jews and all residents of
- 4:14it Jerusalem, let this be known unto you today and pay attention
- 4:17to my words. For these people are not drunk
- 4:20as you suppose, since there's only 9 in the morning.
- 4:23On the contrary, this is what was spoken to the prophet Joel.
- 4:26And it'll be in the last days, says God, that I will pour out
- 4:29my spirit and on all my people. Then your sons and daughters
- 4:32will prophecy, your young men will see visions, and your old
- 4:35men will dream dreams. I will even pour out my spirit
- 4:38on the servants in those days. Both men and women in those days
- 4:41will prophecy. I will display the wonders of
- 4:44heaven above the signs of the earth and below the blood and
- 4:46fire. With a cloud of smoke.
- 4:48The sun will be turned Into Darkness, and the moon in the
- 4:51blood. And before the great glorious
- 4:52day of the Lord comes, then everyone who calls on the name
- 4:56of the Lord will be saved. That's verses 14 to 21.
- 4:59There's a passage where he preaches longer, but I'm going
- 5:02to skip down to verses 37 to 38. This says when they heard this
- 5:07they were pierced to their heart and they said to Peter and the
- 5:10rest of the apostles brothers, what should we do?
- 5:16And Peter replied a simple reply, repent and be baptized
- 5:21each and everyone of you in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ
- 5:23for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the
- 5:26gift of the Holy Spirit. This is the scene where Peter
- 5:30stood and preached to these people.
- 5:32The Bible records that as you read the next verse that 3000
- 5:35men repented and 3000 men got saved that day.
- 5:40They would have likely went down.
- 5:41We passed a mikvah right over here.
- 5:43They would have likely went down in that mikvah and gotten
- 5:45baptized right there. And Peter would have had the
- 5:48very first baptism service for the very first church service
- 5:51that was existed in the book of Acts.
- 5:54And the men that were there said, what should we do with
- 5:58this information that we've been given?
- 6:00And Peter replied the same message that we have today.
- 6:03Repent, believe on Jesus and receive the Holy Spirit.
- 6:08We have the same message. We have the same power we get to
- 6:11experience on the steps that that happened here today
- 6:15ourselves. Father, we thank you for this
- 6:17day. We thank you for my heart been
- 6:20overwhelmed by walking the pilgrims path up this way as we
- 6:24took in the sights that we took in all the different areas where
- 6:31Jesus would have stopped and he would have told that his
- 6:33disciples would have asked him questions.
- 6:35Lord, we got to experience that. We saw the wall where you would
- 6:38have came up and we saw where Peter would have stood today and
- 6:41preached. Father, my heart is encouraged.
- 6:44My heart is overwhelmed as I recently finished preaching the
- 6:47book of Acts where we got to see and experience the church, the
- 6:50birth of the church, but it just doesn't end there.
- 6:53God, we, we have now had the opportunity as Acts ends to take
- 6:57on the message of the gospel and to continue to proclaim it
- 7:00forward. Help us to have the boldness
- 7:02that Peter had. Peter didn't shy away.
- 7:04He could have, he was, he denied Jesus.
- 7:06He, he made mistakes, he made problems in his life and yet he
- 7:09put those things away to come forward and to preach this
- 7:13glorious message that we heard. Lord, help us to be bold for you
- 7:16and to share the message of the gospel so that people would ask
- 7:19the questions. What do we do now?
- 7:22My heart is stirred and I've got to do something.
- 7:25Help us to have that same boldness today.
- 7:27Father, in your name we pray. Amen.
- 8:04I. Found my new name, found that
- 9:10good grace, found that healing. And the tears fell down my face
- 9:16when I found my beginning. It has no ending.
- 9:20I found that second chance, found my best friend, Found my.
