BROKEN NEON Just after midnight, the lights begin to fail. One sign goes dark. Then another. Within minutes, an entire block is flickering between light and darkness. Upside down. The last train passes without stopping. Storefronts disappear behind steel shutters. Somewhere beneath the streets, something heavy starts moving. Stay down low.
