- 0:41Speaker 1: get a little bit of a bonus to get started
- 0:43Speaker 1: over on OKX. Let's go over to a few tweets
- 0:46Speaker 1: I want to kind of lead off with, and that
- 0:47Speaker 1: is that Trump is going to be meeting with US
- 0:49Speaker 1: senators today to discuss crypto and the market structure. Bill,
- 0:54Speaker 1: and I think the point right now will be this is,
- 0:57Speaker 1: you've got some very interesting issues that are facing President Trump,
- 1:03Speaker 1: and also the administration in terms of Clarity, how they
- 1:06Speaker 1: negotiate this, and they may we'll see, they may push
- 1:10Speaker 1: it down the road and say it doesn't really belong
- 1:12Speaker 1: in this. But I think this is going to be
- 1:15Speaker 1: the meeting that will pretty much tell the tale of
- 1:18Speaker 1: whether or not Clarity gets through. Ripple may see that
- 1:21Speaker 1: to be the case, because guess what, they've put the
- 1:23Speaker 1: Clarity truck back on the road today. It's in DC
- 1:26Speaker 1: trying to get Senators to may make some decisions and
- 1:29Speaker 1: pay attention to what's happening. Other points you have to
- 1:32Speaker 1: look at within the bill. These are the three key things.
- 1:36Speaker 1: If you guys have been following our show, you probably know,
- 1:38Speaker 1: but we have a lot of new viewers. Thank you
- 1:41Speaker 1: for subscribing. We appreciate that. But these are the three
- 1:45Speaker 1: boiling points that really it comes down to. One is
- 1:48Speaker 1: the ethics provision. The question is whether or not they
- 1:51Speaker 1: negotiate some sort of compromise and they push this down
- 1:54Speaker 1: the road. The key things are going to be developer protection,
- 1:57Speaker 1: which I think is going to still stay with it,
- 2:00Speaker 1: and then of course the stable coin yield. That is
- 2:02Speaker 1: the fight. I think that continues to be the number
- 2:06Speaker 1: one issue that the Banks, of course push in on
- 2:09Speaker 1: one other point that is important here is in reference
- 2:13Speaker 1: to who's going to be in the room. It goes
- 2:14Speaker 1: back to this right here, and that is Reuben Diego,
- 2:17Speaker 1: who is the Democrat who led the ethics talks for months.
- 2:21Speaker 1: He's not invited. That is a problem, I think for
- 2:24Speaker 1: one the Democrats to maybe come to a detente with
- 2:28Speaker 1: this administration around ethics. And I think it also showcases
- 2:33Speaker 1: that maybe we've got a handful of Democrats that are
- 2:36Speaker 1: going to push us in the position where we cannot
- 2:38Speaker 1: make the sixty votes. So right now there's about fifty
- 2:41Speaker 1: three Republicans, so there needs to be seven Democrats at least,
- 2:45Speaker 1: and that is without Lindsey Graham even coming into the place.
- 2:49Speaker 1: So big pressure right now when it comes down to voting.
- 2:52Speaker 1: I want to play a quick clip here of where
- 2:56Speaker 1: some of the industry thinks this is going to land
- 2:58Speaker 1: on ethics.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Take a look now, I know there's an effort in
- 3:01Speaker 2: the Senate by a number of Democrats at ethics provisions.
- 3:05Speaker 2: That's something we in the industry really can't speak to.
- 3:07Speaker 2: It's an amendment to the government ethics rules, which is
- 3:09Speaker 2: really something policymakers need to figure out, and so we'll
- 3:13Speaker 2: see what happens on that side of it. But even
- 3:15Speaker 2: without an ethics provision, the bill is a dramatic step
- 3:18Speaker 2: forward for the priorities that Democrats have laid out, and
- 3:21Speaker 2: so I hope everybody keeps their focus on that reality absolutely.
- 3:26Speaker 1: All right, guys, let me know what you guys think.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Do you think that the ethics issue will put a
- 3:31Speaker 1: stop to this bill? Just put yes or no down below.
- 3:34Speaker 1: I'm kind of curious because what Fariar was getting at
- 3:38Speaker 1: here is that it really shouldn't be even considered in
- 3:42Speaker 1: this particular bill. It should be something that is a
- 3:45Speaker 1: broader scope in general. And maybe that is the angle
- 3:49Speaker 1: in which the lobbyist and maybe some of the lawmakers
- 3:52Speaker 1: are trying to go. So I don't know we're going
- 3:54Speaker 1: to see it. But you got Senator Tom tell Us,
- 3:56Speaker 1: he's one of the lead negotiators right now by the
- 3:58Speaker 1: Banks and crypto stablecoin compromise. He told Brendan Peterson that
- 4:03Speaker 1: he's got this whole thing around a circuit breaker language,
- 4:06Speaker 1: and what he said was adding the language would be
- 4:09Speaker 1: a test for the banks if they still oppose it
- 4:13Speaker 1: with the bill with a circuit breaker provision. Then he suggested,
- 4:16Speaker 1: they're concerns about you. Deposit flight is just pretty much BS.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Let's just say it is BS. And I think that
- 4:23Speaker 1: is the issue right now. This is more about control
- 4:27Speaker 1: of what eventually will be an emerging generation of new
- 4:32Speaker 1: investors and a lot of new financial decisions that are
- 4:35Speaker 1: going to be made out there. And I think banks
- 4:37Speaker 1: are kind of on the line either way because there's
- 4:40Speaker 1: been so much innovation in the fintech side of things.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Another thing to look at right here, and I think
- 4:45Speaker 1: Friar hits it right here, is the impact on sable
- 4:48Speaker 1: coins on small banks has received a lot of attention,
- 4:51Speaker 1: but not for the right reasons. He goes on in
- 4:53Speaker 1: this tweet says, now, the part small banks should actually
- 4:56Speaker 1: care about sable coins enable four thousand community and re
- 5:00Speaker 1: banks to punch above their weight. This is what I
- 5:03Speaker 1: actually think that the big banks are concerned about, is
- 5:07Speaker 1: that the little banks might actually have a chance here
- 5:11Speaker 1: to grow. So I don't know this is going to
- 5:14Speaker 1: be Maybe there's a fight brewing right now within the
- 5:16Speaker 1: banking industry as a whole, and this is just one
- 5:19Speaker 1: of the cornerstones that would help drive it forward. If
- 5:22Speaker 1: you look at the odds of clarity. It has been
- 5:26Speaker 1: dropping really since we saw right there around May tenth,
- 5:29Speaker 1: I think it was the Mother's Day weekend or so.
- 5:32Speaker 1: They went after the senators and I'm talking about the
- 5:37Speaker 1: banks the ABA, and that's the essentially the situation of
- 5:40Speaker 1: the lobbying group putting a lot of pressure on. Since
- 5:43Speaker 1: that occurred, we have seen kind of up and down,
- 5:46Speaker 1: but the trend line is not good even holding it
- 5:49Speaker 1: about a forty percent chance right now. So let me
- 5:51Speaker 1: go to another clip here, because this is lummis brilliant
- 5:54Speaker 1: w wash on issues on the destruction of records during
- 5:59Speaker 1: the Silicon Valley bank. Now, this could ties into some
- 6:02Speaker 1: of what maybe the banking industry is concerned about. Take
- 6:05Speaker 1: a look.
- 6:06Speaker 3: You know, there are rumors that there may have been
- 6:10Speaker 3: destruction of records by some of the staff at the
- 6:17Speaker 3: Division of Bank Supervision, and of course that's a crime.
- 6:21Speaker 3: So if records relating to the supervision of these banks
- 6:25Speaker 3: were intentionally deleted by staff before you were at the FED,
- 6:30Speaker 3: before you ever became chairman, will you order your staff
- 6:34Speaker 3: to assist in recovery of these records and cooperate with
- 6:38Speaker 3: law enforcement.
- 6:40Speaker 4: Yeah, so I made a bold statement to one of
- 6:42Speaker 4: your colleagues before that I was opposed to scams. I
- 6:44Speaker 4: can make a bold statement, I'm opposed to criminal activity.
- 6:47Speaker 4: I have no reason to believe there are any criminal
- 6:50Speaker 4: activity here, but I think we want to get to
- 6:52Speaker 4: the bottom of an investigation. If there's an ongoing investigation,
- 6:56Speaker 4: and investigators generally want access to things, there's no reason
- 7:01Speaker 4: why they shouldn't have access.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Thank you, all right, So they're giving access. We'll see
- 7:05Speaker 1: if that pans out here, because it could put some
- 7:09Speaker 1: pressure on the FED itself. Lummus is also pushing, obviously
- 7:14Speaker 1: on clarity. She is the one center I think that
- 7:16Speaker 1: continues to kind of tout the horn for obvious reasons.
- 7:20Speaker 1: But let me play a clip on that. Take a look.
- 7:22Speaker 3: It's very important that we get this bill across the
- 7:25Speaker 3: finish line before the August recess begins, so we can
- 7:30Speaker 3: make the markets aware of the stability that will be
- 7:36Speaker 3: provided to them if they remain on shore in the
- 7:40Speaker 3: United States to do business. This is a pivotal time
- 7:43Speaker 3: for the industry and we want to meet their needs.
- 7:46Speaker 3: Is it fair to say this bill will be back.
- 7:49Speaker 3: It will be on the Senate floor the week of
- 7:51Speaker 3: July twentieth, well, I expect it'll be that week.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Then you have Patrick Witt right here. The world won't
- 7:57Speaker 1: wait on America forever. We can either lead or we
- 8:01Speaker 1: can just fall behind pretty much when it comes to
- 8:02Speaker 1: digital assets. The problem is this, guys. We did a
- 8:06Speaker 1: video yesterday. This video is pomping right now. It's Japan.
- 8:11Speaker 1: And the reason that they just blew past the US
- 8:15Speaker 1: and here is the core. They have essentially from the
- 8:19Speaker 1: government level, paved the way both on the banking infrastructure,
- 8:24Speaker 1: the adoption model, as well as the distribution model that
- 8:29Speaker 1: it would take to implement crypto across the entire economy
- 8:35Speaker 1: inside Japan. Remember Japan one of the largest trading partners
- 8:39Speaker 1: with the US, but more importantly one of the top
- 8:42Speaker 1: five when it comes to economic powerhouses globally. So this
- 8:47Speaker 1: is a huge move on Japan's side that is really
- 8:51Speaker 1: positioning them because they understand there is a very interesting
- 8:55Speaker 1: situation boiling when it comes to things like the reverse
- 8:58Speaker 1: carry trade, which we've talked many times. If you guys
- 9:01Speaker 1: know what that is, go out and do a little
- 9:02Speaker 1: research on it. It essentially starts to put a lot
- 9:05Speaker 1: of pressure on US treasuries and if they have an
- 9:07Speaker 1: alternative system that essentially is underway. This is exactly what
- 9:11Speaker 1: Patrick Wit and a lot of lawmakers are concerned with
- 9:14Speaker 1: right now, is that the US no longer becomes the
- 9:19Speaker 1: center of the financial ecosystem. Japan's two hundred and fifty
- 9:23Speaker 1: billion SBI group now as partner with ONO. This is
- 9:26Speaker 1: another nail in that coffin is they continue to push through.
- 9:30Speaker 1: This is going to bring Japanese stocks on chain, including
- 9:33Speaker 1: tokenized assets through SBI, so that's more distribution. You've got
- 9:36Speaker 1: the en stable COINSJPIC. All of this will be used
- 9:39Speaker 1: for payments and collateral. This clears the table for what
- 9:44Speaker 1: Japan is really trying to do, and that is make
- 9:47Speaker 1: a massive step forward. And I think their tax positioning
- 9:51Speaker 1: when they reduce their capital gains from fifty to twenty.
- 9:53Speaker 1: I mean, can you imagine seeing your capital gains tax
- 9:56Speaker 1: going from fifty percent on crypto to twenty percent. This
- 10:00Speaker 1: is going to ignite activity and I think that might
- 10:03Speaker 1: be why we're seeing a little bit movement in the
- 10:05Speaker 1: market right now. So as you can see, guys, for
- 10:08Speaker 1: the amount of updates that the Japanese are doing right
- 10:12Speaker 1: now and the speed in which they're aligning this, it's
- 10:16Speaker 1: possible we could see all sorts of announcements that would
- 10:18Speaker 1: continue on twenty days could be a lifetime based on
- 10:22Speaker 1: everything that is happening, because I think there is a
- 10:26Speaker 1: slew of companies here in the United States that are
- 10:29Speaker 1: simply waiting for the Senate to say yes. The minute
- 10:33Speaker 1: they do, you are going to see an absolute explosion
- 10:37Speaker 1: of announcements, press releases, movements, strategic partnerships, a lot of
- 10:42Speaker 1: these nbas completely uncovered, and a whole movement. I think
- 10:46Speaker 1: in crypto going forward, we're ready. The trigger is there
- 10:50Speaker 1: and ready to pull. I think the problem is that
- 10:53Speaker 1: we've got Capitol Hill holding all of this up right now,
- 10:57Speaker 1: That's what it boils down to. I want to go
- 10:59Speaker 1: to a clip here, though, Let's jump over to how
- 11:01Speaker 1: crypto and AI are connected at the hip and what
- 11:04Speaker 1: it might mean going forward.
- 11:06Speaker 5: This is tomly there may be a point in time
- 11:09Speaker 5: where if our delegated agents make more money than us,
- 11:13Speaker 5: we're going to wonder if we work for them or
- 11:15Speaker 5: they work for us. And I think that crypto is
- 11:18Speaker 5: really one of the ways for humans to control the
- 11:21Speaker 5: future world of agents. Right market was looking for two cuts,
- 11:24Speaker 5: now it's two hikes. That's a headwind the Clarity Act,
- 11:28Speaker 5: which was supposed to help provide and create federal preemption
- 11:33Speaker 5: of cryptocurrency rules and let the CFTC essentially have purview
- 11:37Speaker 5: over that industry. You know, that's still stuck in the
- 11:41Speaker 5: Congress processes. And AI of course has done so well
- 11:46Speaker 5: to me headwinds, but they're not creating what I call
- 11:49Speaker 5: intermodal replacements. I think blockchain is still going to be
- 11:52Speaker 5: central to the future of the financial services industry and
- 11:56Speaker 5: actually to how we manage AI.
- 12:00Speaker 1: All Right, so some very key statements there. One, the
- 12:02Speaker 1: fact that he mentioned Clarity just shows you that he's
- 12:05Speaker 1: fully in tune with why this is so important. He
- 12:09Speaker 1: also understands the implementation of how AI agents are going
- 12:13Speaker 1: to be transacting on our behalf in the future. And
- 12:16Speaker 1: it's coming, guys, very quickly. I think we're going to
- 12:18Speaker 1: probably see it integrated more and more into the centralized
- 12:21Speaker 1: exchange products that are out there. Robin has already gone
- 12:24Speaker 1: this direction, a handful of others are moving this direction.
- 12:27Speaker 1: It won't be very long. I think by end of
- 12:30Speaker 1: year you're going to see really active portfolios by average people,
- 12:34Speaker 1: average traders that are doing some pretty amazing things visa
- 12:38Speaker 1: actually said that AI agents will use stable coin payments
- 12:40Speaker 1: for tiny payments, So now we're talking about micro payments
- 12:43Speaker 1: that would get involved in the endo this and I
- 12:46Speaker 1: think that opens things up stable coins to be a
- 12:48Speaker 1: part of that. That's a multi trillion dollar industry in
- 12:50Speaker 1: itself globally, so imagine all of that still coming on blockchain,
- 12:55Speaker 1: and we haven't even moved the multi trillion in terms
- 12:57Speaker 1: of asset liquidity into risk assets overall, which continues to
- 13:03Speaker 1: put more pressure on the overall market in general. Stripe
- 13:06Speaker 1: and PayPal, though, are still courting a deal. This deal
- 13:10Speaker 1: could put PYUSD. If you guys don't know, that is
- 13:13Speaker 1: PayPal's stable cooint Yeah, they have one, and this would
- 13:17Speaker 1: put it into basically Venmo's four hundred million users blockchain
- 13:22Speaker 1: payment rails, So you'd have Venmo, PayPal, and Stripe all connected.
- 13:27Speaker 1: If the government doesn't shut this down. From an antitrust standpoint,
- 13:33Speaker 1: I think this would be interesting. The other side to
- 13:36Speaker 1: this is this pivots PayPal out of a public company,
- 13:40Speaker 1: because Stripe obviously not public yet. PayPal surged on the news.
- 13:45Speaker 1: This of course will be a question mark, but does
- 13:48Speaker 1: this do something for pyus D and maybe even the
- 13:51Speaker 1: strategy that Stripe could be putting together. Again, this is
- 13:55Speaker 1: all still speculation because this would have to go through
- 13:58Speaker 1: a lot of regulation to just get done for sure. Micron, though,
- 14:03Speaker 1: in the meantime, has continue to retrace. Now, Micron has
- 14:08Speaker 1: been one of the winners overall when it comes to
- 14:12Speaker 1: the semiconductor stocks, and the reason obvious. You know, they
- 14:16Speaker 1: make the chips and memory that goes in almost every
- 14:18Speaker 1: device out there that you're utilizing today, that of course
- 14:22Speaker 1: has blown off top. We've started to see a pull
- 14:24Speaker 1: down Micron and is down now thirty percent since just
- 14:28Speaker 1: June twenty second. Guys, so less than a month we
- 14:31Speaker 1: have seen a thirty percent drop. So this probably hurts
- 14:33Speaker 1: some retail traders that we're trying to look at where
- 14:37Speaker 1: this was heading. The semiconductor stocks are the new leaders
- 14:41Speaker 1: in the market though still and I think everybody's trying
- 14:43Speaker 1: to figure that out. But Micron at the time contribute
- 14:47Speaker 1: one point four percentage points to the S and P
- 14:49Speaker 1: S five hundred. That was after their gains. This of
- 14:52Speaker 1: course was during the stock which had rallied over a
- 14:55Speaker 1: long period of time. Are we seeing a rotation is
- 14:57Speaker 1: really what the question is? If there is a rotation
- 15:00Speaker 1: out of this, whether it's going into capital like stable
- 15:04Speaker 1: coins or into just cash in general and ready for
- 15:08Speaker 1: either a final DIB or possibly what leg up we
- 15:12Speaker 1: are on right now as ethereum hits almost two thousand dollars,
- 15:15Speaker 1: So maybe there is some strategy going on right now
- 15:19Speaker 1: from the semiconductor traders that are starting to shift into
- 15:22Speaker 1: more risk. Here is Mark Cudmore talking about the AI
- 15:26Speaker 1: turning point. Take a look.
- 15:28Speaker 6: I think the bubble keeps on unfading until an earning
- 15:32Speaker 6: season change. And what I'm looking for an earning season
- 15:33Speaker 6: is a slash in CAPEX. So I think it is
- 15:36Speaker 6: a tremendous AI copex bubble. I think it's going to
- 15:38Speaker 6: be very painful what happens, but I don't think you
- 15:40Speaker 6: can preempt it. And I think it's it's a I think,
- 15:43Speaker 6: you know, is this is this a turning point now?
- 15:45Speaker 6: I don't think so, But like I'm open minded, but
- 15:48Speaker 6: like basically I think you've got to stay underlyingly positive
- 15:51Speaker 6: until we get that copex production. However, as we've discussed
- 15:55Speaker 6: since May, I think we're in the much more volatile stage,
- 15:57Speaker 6: and I think the volatil we've seen in the last
- 15:58Speaker 6: two months is what we're gonna get for the next months.
- 15:59Speaker 6: But like the prior bubbles, that voltile stage last six months.
- 16:03Speaker 6: So to me, you know, my base cases were another
- 16:05Speaker 6: earning season away always, but I'm going to be open
- 16:07Speaker 6: minded to every single hyperscaler earning support. As soon as
- 16:10Speaker 6: Capex gets slashed, that's game over.
- 16:13Speaker 1: All, right, So this is something that is critical to
- 16:15Speaker 1: pay attention to, guys, because you're looking at two colliding
- 16:20Speaker 1: forces here, one Capex potentially going to the line of
- 16:25Speaker 1: let's reduce spending. When that does, just like Cogmore just said,
- 16:30Speaker 1: it's game over. That means rotation of capital. Only one caveat.
- 16:34Speaker 1: If Clarity doesn't spin through Washington, then you have basically
- 16:39Speaker 1: a mismatch of where that liquidity could go instead of
- 16:43Speaker 1: into crypto because it's got you know, a regulatory pathway,
- 16:46Speaker 1: now you could be running into something else. So this
- 16:49Speaker 1: is a very sensitive time right now in the markets,
- 16:52Speaker 1: So pay attention to that. Larry Fink, though thinks there's
- 16:56Speaker 1: something else happening. Listen to what he had to say.
- 17:00Speaker 7: I was always worried about the leverage in bitcoin and crypto.
- 17:04Speaker 1: There is too much leverage players in it. That's why
- 17:07Speaker 1: we had to wash out.
- 17:08Speaker 7: And I think there's more stability at these levels here.
- 17:10Speaker 7: But for the scale of the capital markets today, the
- 17:14Speaker 7: leverage is not as large. I mean, that doesn't mean
- 17:18Speaker 7: there's not pockets, but no, As I said in my
- 17:23Speaker 7: prepared remarks this morning, I'm very bullish on the markets
- 17:27Speaker 7: over the next twelve.
- 17:28Speaker 1: Months, all right. So think's point there is. I think
- 17:32Speaker 1: it's well taken in the sense that most of the leverage,
- 17:35Speaker 1: the extreme leverage, has been flushed out. That's the move
- 17:38Speaker 1: we've seen from one twenty five to down to where
- 17:40Speaker 1: we are sixty five now in terms of Bitcoin. But
- 17:44Speaker 1: I think also what he's going to is that it's
- 17:47Speaker 1: getting more stable, which means that Wall Street's getting a
- 17:50Speaker 1: little bit more comfortable with the play on crypto in general.
- 17:54Speaker 1: Bitcoin of course leading the charge there, but this will
- 17:56Speaker 1: also flow over into eth and a handful of other
- 17:59Speaker 1: blue chips. The fact that he is very bullish, you've
- 18:02Speaker 1: got Tom Lee still very bullish, You've got the market
- 18:06Speaker 1: kind of looking for an opportunity of a rotation. But
- 18:10Speaker 1: yet you've got to hold up over here with clarity.
