- 1:12Speaker 2: But before we get there, you know, we gotta do
- 1:14Speaker 2: a little something that we always do, which is our
- 1:16Speaker 2: Akas as mentioned, I am Tatiana King aka Tatiana King
- 1:20Speaker 2: the Conqueror aka wickn Witch of the West View Lawandavision
- 1:24Speaker 2: Agaba Darkness is spreading colda Swinter soldier ever and doc
- 1:29Speaker 2: Aki And as mentioned, I'm here with the legendary Porsha Pee.
- 1:33Speaker 2: If you watch a little show we have called Castle
- 1:36Speaker 2: Black probably are almost popular. Hever, you will recognize this
- 1:40Speaker 2: beautiful face here. She is our grand maister, as well
- 1:44Speaker 2: as many other things. But please Porsche introduce yourself.
- 1:47Speaker 5: Hi everyone, It's Porscha Patterson aka Quancy Drew aka Captain
- 1:52Speaker 5: claimed It aka Porsche the Girl and noss Witch aka
- 1:57Speaker 5: Mother of Modern Thoughts.
- 2:00Speaker 2: I thought you said mother and modern thoughts, and I
- 2:04Speaker 2: was just like, Okay, I can see that one too.
- 2:06Speaker 3: You can have both. You can have both, you have both.
- 2:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:10Speaker 2: So, as mentioned, we are here to discuss we saw.
- 2:15Speaker 2: We have the first four episodes of Agatha all along.
- 2:19Speaker 3: We are going to keep.
- 2:20Speaker 2: This particular review condensed to Jess episodes one and two.
- 2:25Speaker 2: By the time you hear this, episodes one and two
- 2:28Speaker 2: will be out. It drops on eighteenth of September twenty
- 2:31Speaker 2: twenty four. And we have words, we have thoughts, we
- 2:35Speaker 2: have notes, we have review. First, before we get into
- 2:41Speaker 2: any of the details, any of the potions and lotions
- 2:44Speaker 2: and all that stuff, tell me overall, what you think
- 2:47Speaker 2: or what you thought about Agatha all along episodes one
- 2:50Speaker 2: and two.
- 2:51Speaker 5: So far, I think like, so look something that like,
- 2:56Speaker 5: I'm not sure if everyone knows about me, let's just
- 2:58Speaker 5: spread it around. I'm a fan of magic and fantasy
- 3:03Speaker 5: and witches always kind of do it for me unless
- 3:06Speaker 5: you mess them up.
- 3:08Speaker 4: And I was so glad to see that they didn't
- 3:12Speaker 4: like for me.
- 3:12Speaker 5: These first two episodes are not even close to messing
- 3:15Speaker 5: up witchcraft. I feel like they do with good things,
- 3:19Speaker 5: but like setting things up. And it was kind of
- 3:23Speaker 5: funny how they characterize the witches of like being really
- 3:26Speaker 5: good at giving each other a good read like as
- 3:28Speaker 5: soon as you meet each other, they're like hm hm,
- 3:31Speaker 5: so you're over here with these busted nails.
- 3:33Speaker 4: Again and it's just like hilarious.
- 3:35Speaker 5: So that's yeah for me.
- 3:37Speaker 3: Yes, no, I agree with you.
- 3:39Speaker 2: I felt that just the overall energy of the show
- 3:43Speaker 2: is very quick witted. It is very yes, girl, is
- 3:48Speaker 2: very you know, I'll read you down on a heartbeat.
- 3:50Speaker 2: I am powerful, I have powers, and you were going
- 3:54Speaker 2: to know. It gave me what I wanted to like
- 3:59Speaker 2: see if I what episode of remember that show that
- 4:03Speaker 2: we all used to watch, Ryan Murphy series.
- 4:07Speaker 3: What the hell America horror story? Okay, I remember the Coven.
- 4:12Speaker 5: Season season that's let's that was that television has not done,
- 4:18Speaker 5: which is a lot of justice. Coven was my like,
- 4:22Speaker 5: at least I got this kind of moment, like and
- 4:24Speaker 5: then they write it, but it was it was.
- 4:27Speaker 4: Giving me something.
- 4:29Speaker 3: To that degree.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Covin did that. So that's that's why I was there.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Let's go, That's why I was even in the building,
- 4:38Speaker 2: to be honest with you. But that idea of of
- 4:41Speaker 2: and Gabaret Citabe was in there too, But that idea
- 4:44Speaker 2: of just having literally a coven of multicultural women of
- 4:48Speaker 2: all an end, of all backgrounds, economics, things like that,
- 4:51Speaker 2: even though they're all well most were like hundreds of
- 4:54Speaker 2: years old anyway. But the point is that the fact
- 4:56Speaker 2: is you have a group of girls like they some
- 4:59Speaker 2: of them is a little bit sad, something's a little
- 5:00Speaker 2: bit quiet. Some of them are the supreme as we saw,
- 5:04Speaker 2: and I liked I felt. I mentioned in that because
- 5:07Speaker 2: I felt that same situation here with Agatha all along.
- 5:10Speaker 2: And interestingly, I had, like long a while ago, I
- 5:15Speaker 2: had forgot about Agatha even coming out as a series,
- 5:18Speaker 2: and I was just like, oh yeah, it's here or
- 5:20Speaker 2: it's coming, and I'm just like, but do we care anymore?
- 5:23Speaker 4: Right?
- 5:23Speaker 2: WandaVision and in you know, microwave age was a long
- 5:27Speaker 2: time ago and all of that Agatha Along music and
- 5:31Speaker 2: everything we loved about heard that that sentiment has I
- 5:34Speaker 2: think subsided a while.
- 5:36Speaker 3: Ago as well.
- 5:37Speaker 2: But I was actually surprised how I was just like
- 5:42Speaker 2: getting back in tune with this character and then this
- 5:45Speaker 2: new world building that they're doing. And I think the
- 5:48Speaker 2: fact that it's more of a newer, different Marvel view
- 5:52Speaker 2: of a world than what we've seen, which is also
- 5:55Speaker 2: what's drawn me to the series.
- 5:58Speaker 4: Yeah, I think Marvel could have really taken a couple
- 6:02Speaker 4: of different steps.
- 6:02Speaker 5: I was hoping that they would ground and rooted in
- 6:05Speaker 5: the magic and witchcraft of it all and not really
- 6:07Speaker 5: spend too much time giving us like world building like
- 6:11Speaker 5: what they do with like TV Marvel.
- 6:14Speaker 3: And I'm tying it to the other characters.
- 6:16Speaker 5: Yeah, maybe you're giving us like an agent WU kind
- 6:19Speaker 5: of like Cameo or something like that. Oh, okay, you
- 6:22Speaker 5: know what I mean, because you're in Wanda Vision, so
- 6:24Speaker 5: you know what I mean.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Like, like they make it clear about what it is
- 6:28Speaker 2: it is in the MCU world. However, Comma, it is
- 6:32Speaker 2: not just it's not the typical formula.
- 6:34Speaker 5: And it's also like you've already been here before, like
- 6:36Speaker 5: you've already been to west View, so you like.
- 6:38Speaker 4: How much do you really need? Like you know what
- 6:41Speaker 4: the setup is.
- 6:42Speaker 5: So I appreciate it that they didn't try to like
- 6:43Speaker 5: over explain that they were just like she's still in Westview,
- 6:47Speaker 5: She's still in New Jersey, and even in the journey
- 6:51Speaker 5: that she's going through, she's she's not really left New
- 6:53Speaker 5: Jersey yet, which is kind of hilarious the way that
- 6:56Speaker 5: like someone clocks her tea and it's like because it's
- 7:01Speaker 5: I think it's real.
- 7:02Speaker 4: Because she's trying.
- 7:02Speaker 5: To break Agatha out of this like vision of like
- 7:06Speaker 5: what she thinks the world is right now, and she's like,
- 7:10Speaker 5: so are you from here? Have you always are? You're like,
- 7:13Speaker 5: of course you're a hometown. Girls are solving this case
- 7:15Speaker 5: like you always lived here, right, and like I get this.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Like hmm, yeah, yeah.
- 7:21Speaker 2: And I like the point you're making about how they
- 7:24Speaker 2: they've done this setup because they enter you, they they
- 7:29Speaker 2: pretty much are like, look here's some background, but then
- 7:32Speaker 2: now we got to move on. And I like that
- 7:34Speaker 2: I hate when to your point, I hate when shows,
- 7:37Speaker 2: especially Marvel shows, that have to like throw it in
- 7:39Speaker 2: your face, like, Hey, did you know we're friends with
- 7:40Speaker 2: Captain Planting at the Marvel and we're friends with this
- 7:43Speaker 2: person and that person. I mentioned Captain Planet because there
- 7:46Speaker 2: was Captain Planets anniversary was just a day or so ago.
- 7:49Speaker 2: But that's neither here nor there. What I'm trying to
- 7:53Speaker 2: say is I do like the setup. I do like
- 7:57Speaker 2: that they explain, like to your what you said earlier,
- 8:00Speaker 2: it's been three years and homegirl is still stuck in
- 8:03Speaker 2: her own thing and that and maybe and maybe you
- 8:05Speaker 2: can help me understand this. So like at the end
- 8:08Speaker 2: of Wanda Vision, when Wanda defeated her took all her
- 8:12Speaker 2: powers and all that stuff, did she just then put
- 8:15Speaker 2: Agatha in another spell and let her, Like I know,
- 8:18Speaker 2: all the residents were were essentially taking out the hecks,
- 8:22Speaker 2: and now they live in there trying to recuperate themselves,
- 8:25Speaker 2: and they're in the same place, but they're not in
- 8:27Speaker 2: this fake world anymore. But it seemed like and and
- 8:30Speaker 2: I don't remember, but it seemed like Agatha in her
- 8:32Speaker 2: house was just stuck in the.
- 8:34Speaker 5: TV shows, well, so I don't even think that it
- 8:36Speaker 5: is Agatha's house. I think it's just Agatha. I think
- 8:38Speaker 5: whenever we oh, so she was strip because never because
- 8:41Speaker 5: they were on the like lawn thing where like Agatha's
- 8:43Speaker 5: like on the bench and so like there's a so
- 8:46Speaker 5: there's a cut scene, like they literally like didn't air
- 8:50Speaker 5: the scene. And I happened to see this because that's
- 8:53Speaker 5: in the trailer of No of Agatha, like the Wanda vision, Yeah,
- 9:00Speaker 5: where Agatha's sitting on the bench wearing like her like
- 9:03Speaker 5: sixties ish kind of well, no, it's probably more modern,
- 9:05Speaker 5: but still kind of very like housewife, put together kind
- 9:07Speaker 5: of fit, and she's like flirting with the EMT who's
- 9:12Speaker 5: like checking on her, and she's just like not at
- 9:15Speaker 5: all Agatha, She's just a yeah. And so whenever Wanda
- 9:20Speaker 5: left her, she definitely she put I think what she
- 9:23Speaker 5: said to Wanda was something about something along the lines of.
- 9:27Speaker 4: Like now you have an opportunity to live.
- 9:29Speaker 5: Through which you put me through basically, and Agatha through
- 9:34Speaker 5: the like thing.
- 9:35Speaker 3: So like so she wasn't a spell.
- 9:37Speaker 5: She was on a spell, and it seems like it's
- 9:38Speaker 5: the same spell and that like she's living through television
- 9:41Speaker 5: genres and so when she got I don't know how
- 9:43Speaker 5: many genres she went through to get to true crime,
- 9:47Speaker 5: but it's funny because like how her neighbors react whenever
- 9:50Speaker 5: she finally does, like at the end of episode one
- 9:53Speaker 5: is yeah, it's end of episode.
- 9:55Speaker 4: Finally like comes out of it. They're like yeah, girl,
- 9:58Speaker 4: even through some faces, and it was like, dang.
- 9:59Speaker 3: How have you been in some TV shows?
- 10:02Speaker 2: My guy listen I and I was at first concerned
- 10:07Speaker 2: because I was like, oh, I don't like this, like
- 10:09Speaker 2: you know, it was it well. First of all, shout
- 10:11Speaker 2: out to Katherine Hahn, who's an incredible actor actress, like
- 10:15Speaker 2: she you know, the deliberate overacting and the deliberate, you know,
- 10:19Speaker 2: gritty as they mentioned true crime series, and I was
- 10:23Speaker 2: just like, I really hope they don't because I was like,
- 10:25Speaker 2: you know, this don't feel real, right, So I was
- 10:28Speaker 2: like something's off one because I was like it's overacting, right,
- 10:31Speaker 2: And then I was like, but I really hope they
- 10:33Speaker 2: don't stay in this fake world for two too too
- 10:35Speaker 2: long because it was getting born, it was getting born fast,
- 10:37Speaker 2: and I was like, y'all got to pull out of this.
- 10:40Speaker 2: And thankfully, right when I was at my tipping point.
- 10:42Speaker 2: That's when they pulled out all that this fake world.
- 10:45Speaker 2: But yes, her kind of just continuing that path of
- 10:48Speaker 2: being stuck in the show, and it's interacting really weird.
- 10:51Speaker 3: With everybody and everyone else playing the roles with her.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Maybe willingly or not, I don't know, but it seemed
- 10:56Speaker 2: like they were just trying to help her out, And
- 10:58Speaker 2: I just find that interesting how they made it a
- 11:00Speaker 2: point to show that, like this town that had been
- 11:03Speaker 2: terrorized by Wanda is like now like it's almost like
- 11:06Speaker 2: not to say they can't leave each other, but it's
- 11:08Speaker 2: just like they have so much PTSD and they have
- 11:11Speaker 2: so much mental concerns that they gotta sit, they gotta
- 11:16Speaker 2: stay and just help each other.
- 11:17Speaker 3: Like they're not.
- 11:18Speaker 2: I don't think they're of the point where they can
- 11:21Speaker 2: just lead because some some people would be like, you know,
- 11:23Speaker 2: after you were in something like that, wouldn't you just
- 11:25Speaker 2: move away or go someplace else? And I can understand that,
- 11:28Speaker 2: You're like no, because I was in such a hellish,
- 11:32Speaker 2: fucked up mental dream that and these people who are
- 11:37Speaker 2: all I had who were in this with me, These
- 11:40Speaker 2: was my family.
- 11:40Speaker 5: Now, Yeah, like it's like trauma bonding, like the biggest
- 11:44Speaker 5: form of trauma bonding, and they were all like held
- 11:48Speaker 5: hostage by the same person.
- 11:50Speaker 4: And it's not like they ever had like Stockholm.
- 11:51Speaker 5: It was like cause they didn't like like grow to
- 11:54Speaker 5: like be fond of Wanda, but they were like and
- 11:56Speaker 5: they don't even want to say her name, but they.
- 11:58Speaker 3: They stand as fuck as her day to this day.
- 12:01Speaker 5: What's funny to me, It's like, I know because we
- 12:05Speaker 5: saw I get to have the big like kerfuffle with
- 12:09Speaker 5: Wanda in the middle of the street and the kids,
- 12:11Speaker 5: But we don't know if.
- 12:13Speaker 4: The neighbors saw that, dooey because like by this time.
- 12:16Speaker 3: Wanda everybody saw.
- 12:18Speaker 4: That's what I thought too.
- 12:19Speaker 5: But then like, why are they being treating Agatha like
- 12:21Speaker 5: she's not capable of doing the same thing. She's the witch,
- 12:24Speaker 5: you like actually put Wanda in a place where she
- 12:28Speaker 5: was like, oh, I'm gonna like keep effing around with
- 12:32Speaker 5: your powers, and you're gonna keepfing around these people's minds.
- 12:34Speaker 2: I presume they were aware that Agatha had no more powers,
- 12:38Speaker 2: just the simple fact that she was under this spell
- 12:40Speaker 2: and she's now she's she's she's the crazy one, you know,
- 12:44Speaker 2: the crazy neighbor in the streets, Like I figured that
- 12:46Speaker 2: they saw her as harmless at this point, like and
- 12:49Speaker 2: that's why they kind of treating her like, oh you know,
- 12:52Speaker 2: let's you know, let's try to like like give her some.
- 12:54Speaker 3: Space, like even either give her some space.
- 12:57Speaker 5: Yeah, which kind of convention like that is like a stereotype.
- 13:01Speaker 5: It's like it is a weird lady.
- 13:03Speaker 4: It's the weird witch.
- 13:05Speaker 5: Like she's a witch because she's weird. She's doing these
- 13:07Speaker 5: cookie things.
- 13:08Speaker 2: I mean, you even saw one of the neighbors like
- 13:10Speaker 2: they were they were jogging and they looked up and
- 13:12Speaker 2: saw her and they turned the right fuck around like
- 13:14Speaker 2: oh no, right, because they didn't want to be part
- 13:16Speaker 2: of that madness. But yeah, I get it. But yeah,
- 13:20Speaker 2: that being said, like I like the setup. I like
- 13:22Speaker 2: that they dropped you in this fake TV show World.
- 13:24Speaker 2: And then when the credits for the TV show World
- 13:26Speaker 2: came up, when it was like presented to your produced
- 13:28Speaker 2: by wand Division, I was like, okay, I.
- 13:30Speaker 5: Said no, it said it was like it said it
- 13:32Speaker 5: was adapted front adapt dingish and it made a wonder or.
- 13:39Speaker 4: Something like that, And I was like, you're on a
- 13:40Speaker 4: vision something place. Yeah.
- 13:43Speaker 3: I thought that was a nice touch.
- 13:44Speaker 2: And and again I liked that breaking of the fourth
- 13:46Speaker 2: wall right like that, that was cool.
- 13:47Speaker 5: So they carried out and all of the credit names
- 13:49Speaker 5: were actually the character names, not that.
- 13:51Speaker 4: Yes that was fun too.
- 13:53Speaker 3: Yes, yes, yes, very fun.
- 13:55Speaker 2: And that's when as soon as that happened, I was like, Okay,
- 13:58Speaker 2: now we're on a roll. Let's also just make mention.
- 14:02Speaker 2: Like I mentioned, Katherin Han is Agatha Harkness. We ride away,
- 14:06Speaker 2: we see two people. We have her herself, Aubrey Plaza
- 14:10Speaker 2: as Real Vidal, and then Joe Locke playing what they're
- 14:14Speaker 2: naming Team Tee. And since apparently we can't hear or
- 14:20Speaker 2: know his name, which I want to talk all about,
- 14:22Speaker 2: of course, how did you feel about Real Real appears
- 14:27Speaker 2: and apparently is maybe a rival or the antagonist to
- 14:32Speaker 2: Catherine m hm.
- 14:35Speaker 4: So it's funny.
- 14:36Speaker 5: So I'm a big Parks and Recreation fan, and so
- 14:39Speaker 5: the last time I saw these two actresses in the
- 14:42Speaker 5: same thing was in Parks and rec And for me,
- 14:46Speaker 5: it's interesting how their characters in this show how have
- 14:49Speaker 5: some similarities to kind of like some characterizations of who
- 14:53Speaker 5: their character was in Parks and rec for me, like
- 14:55Speaker 5: Catherine Han being the like like self person, serving doing
- 15:01Speaker 5: things for her own needs like only really like caring
- 15:03Speaker 5: about that, and then Rio being the one that is
- 15:09Speaker 5: like just like here to like mess with things and
- 15:12Speaker 5: like see.
- 15:13Speaker 4: Just for the fun of it.
- 15:14Speaker 5: Like those are kind of characterizations of the characters from
- 15:17Speaker 5: Parks Direct that I like bring over into this show.
- 15:21Speaker 5: You didn't really see them interact too much in Parks
- 15:23Speaker 5: and Rect so it's really cool to see them interacting
- 15:25Speaker 5: here and as the witches Rio for me, like because
- 15:30Speaker 5: the like again because of that like parallel between those
- 15:33Speaker 5: characters from these two different shows. Couldn't tell initially, I
- 15:38Speaker 5: know she's saying it she's like the foil because we
- 15:40Speaker 5: don't we know that Agatha's actually running away from the
- 15:43Speaker 5: Seven and she's had some kind of like romantic history
- 15:47Speaker 5: with Rio from the way they like talk to each other,
- 15:50Speaker 5: because there's a lot of like they had. They give
- 15:52Speaker 5: a lot a little like well you remember that time,
- 15:56Speaker 5: and then they cut each other off, like she cuts like.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought it was just straight up about betrayal
- 16:01Speaker 2: and this and this and that, but that would be
- 16:03Speaker 2: another angle.
- 16:04Speaker 4: Betrayal, romantic betrayals with you know which portrayal.
- 16:11Speaker 5: So when they have these like moments in the show,
- 16:16Speaker 5: it's really interesting to me.
- 16:18Speaker 4: So I'm like, what, because we know Agatha self serving?
- 16:23Speaker 4: What did she do?
- 16:25Speaker 3: That's what I wanted off thing to happen.
- 16:27Speaker 2: I'm not even thinking about real as far as I
- 16:29Speaker 2: don't reain't do shit.
- 16:31Speaker 4: Why didn't Rio want to pop back up? Too? Like?
- 16:33Speaker 4: What is real?
- 16:34Speaker 5: Like after all this time, this person has like I
- 16:38Speaker 5: get this been off the or yeah, basically because when
- 16:42Speaker 5: we what we hear from like Wanda Vision is that
- 16:45Speaker 5: Agatha had been looking for like because she's she had
- 16:49Speaker 5: the Dark Hold, she wanted to be the Scarlet which
- 16:53Speaker 5: figured out she needs to find the scarletich instead of
- 16:55Speaker 5: like actually just being her try to like take her
- 16:58Speaker 5: power to.
- 17:00Speaker 4: Right.
- 17:00Speaker 5: So but I guess that also had been like on
- 17:05Speaker 5: the run basically, like she's like she's not been like
- 17:09Speaker 5: she five star wanted on GTA when it comes to
- 17:13Speaker 5: the continent shey said they said the most wanted or
- 17:16Speaker 5: the most hated witch on this specific continent. Like I
- 17:20Speaker 5: was like, well, damn, like she's always being that and
- 17:23Speaker 5: isn't it because of her stealing the Dark Hold? But
- 17:27Speaker 5: I think it's something about like I think it goes
- 17:30Speaker 5: back to the original like pride that she did crime
- 17:33Speaker 5: against like witchhood where she took the powers of her cousin.
- 17:36Speaker 5: So then yeah, that's the funny thing about her because
- 17:39Speaker 5: like that's the prompt of like getting her powers back,
- 17:42Speaker 5: is having to work in communion with the other witches again.
- 17:46Speaker 5: And I will get to the episode two, but I
- 17:48Speaker 5: like that. That's a hang up for everyone, is that, like,
- 17:51Speaker 5: we know your tea, we know what you did, and
- 17:54Speaker 5: why would you think that we would want to put
- 17:56Speaker 5: ourselves in a vulnerable position for you new that stuff
- 17:59Speaker 5: to us.
- 18:00Speaker 2: On your m You did this shit a thousand years
- 18:02Speaker 2: before and you're about to do it.
- 18:03Speaker 3: Maybe not.
- 18:04Speaker 2: I don't know how old this lady is, but you
- 18:05Speaker 2: know what I mean, you did this. I mean it
- 18:07Speaker 2: wasn't a thousand because she was around. Wasn't Agatha around
- 18:10Speaker 2: during Salem? But that's probably that's not a that's not
- 18:13Speaker 2: a thousand, that's a that's like a few hundred.
- 18:17Speaker 5: It's like sixteen hundred, So what is that like four
- 18:22Speaker 5: four to five hundred?
- 18:23Speaker 3: Yeah, damn you? But yeah, I like that.
- 18:30Speaker 2: I like what you're saying about Rio's character, and Reel's
- 18:33Speaker 2: my favorite character so far because I like the fact
- 18:37Speaker 2: that she's like you said, she has a lot of passion,
- 18:40Speaker 2: obviously a lot of anger, but you know it's it's
- 18:42Speaker 2: I'm sure is the reason behind it. And they made
- 18:44Speaker 2: it seem like at first she was trying to help Agatha, right,
- 18:47Speaker 2: but then when she came back, you know, like you know,
- 18:50Speaker 2: now I'm about to stab it shit out.
- 18:53Speaker 5: But also she was like, it's like, is she is
- 18:55Speaker 5: an assassin? Because she was like I was hunting here.
- 18:57Speaker 2: Yeah, the way she came through, like she was getting
- 18:59Speaker 2: a bound or something, right.
- 19:01Speaker 5: And she's like, and I'm sticking to seven on you.
- 19:02Speaker 5: So it's like, did you get hired by the seven?
- 19:04Speaker 4: Is that why you're.
- 19:07Speaker 2: So it's gonna be interesting to see how they how
- 19:09Speaker 2: she's gonna get flipped to actually helping Agatha. And you know,
- 19:13Speaker 2: I don't know if it's gonna be of Rio's own
- 19:15Speaker 2: volition or of Agatha's gonna put her in a position
- 19:17Speaker 2: where she has no choice and then and then Reel's
- 19:20Speaker 2: gonna hate her even more. Like there's going to be
- 19:23Speaker 2: as like I said, as y'all see that, like they
- 19:25Speaker 2: is not fucking with each other, but then there's going
- 19:27Speaker 2: to be a point it's like.
- 19:29Speaker 3: They have the love hate relationship.
- 19:30Speaker 2: It's ash Ketchum and Gary Oak right, like they are
- 19:33Speaker 2: the forever rivals and they will somehow help each other
- 19:37Speaker 2: or they will again maybe through no means of their own,
- 19:41Speaker 2: end up happling each other.
- 19:42Speaker 3: But we'll see, we'll see.
- 19:44Speaker 2: And then also Catherine, she is being or someone's trying
- 19:47Speaker 2: to help her. I don't even know if he really
- 19:48Speaker 2: did anything, but he swore as he swears he did.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Joe Locke plays this character called teen. First of all,
- 19:59Speaker 2: that was really cool. This This is the other reason
- 20:02Speaker 2: why I think this show is going to do well.
- 20:04Speaker 2: The the graphic design and the effects are very very cool,
- 20:09Speaker 2: and stuff that I haven't seen before since like Madness,
- 20:15Speaker 2: since Multiverse and manness Doctor stains Multiverse man. And when
- 20:20Speaker 2: I say since that time, I just mean the more imaginative,
- 20:24Speaker 2: wild visual effects you were seeing.
- 20:26Speaker 3: Right.
- 20:27Speaker 2: So for example, the reason why he's quote is because
- 20:30Speaker 2: neither Agatha nor us the audience have been allowed to
- 20:33Speaker 2: hear or see his name.
- 20:36Speaker 3: So when the boy when she said, well what is
- 20:38Speaker 3: your name? Who are you?
- 20:39Speaker 2: He moves his mouth to speak his name, but magical,
- 20:44Speaker 2: like I don't even know what the call is, like stitching, Yes,
- 20:48Speaker 2: magical stitching ends up like stitching his mouth as he
- 20:51Speaker 2: says his name. And what's so wild and amazing about it,
- 20:55Speaker 2: but it's very very attention to detail is that the
- 20:57Speaker 2: stitching moves as his mouth is moving, and it releases
- 21:02Speaker 2: as he ends the syllables of his name, right, And
- 21:05Speaker 2: I just I just thought that was just fire.
- 21:06Speaker 3: How like to sit there and think about that, that
- 21:09Speaker 3: was dope.
- 21:10Speaker 2: And also it gives you another dimension of the show, Like, Okay,
- 21:14Speaker 2: now it's a mystery too, right, Like there's all like
- 21:17Speaker 2: yes to say it's a horror, it's it's it's spooky
- 21:21Speaker 2: time and it's a mystery and all this other stuff
- 21:24Speaker 2: and it's gonna and it goes right along with the season,
- 21:26Speaker 2: right along with spooky season. But I just like that,
- 21:28Speaker 2: And again something you haven't seen and you don't really
- 21:31Speaker 2: see in a lot of Marbles TV.
- 21:32Speaker 4: Even Yeah, I am a spooky season kind of girl.
- 21:39Speaker 5: Enjoy but I can, and I it was I just
- 21:43Speaker 5: like I love when the atmosphere and setting like tell
- 21:47Speaker 5: a story along with the yeah, what you're seeing on
- 21:50Speaker 5: the screenplay out with Joe Locke, I really enjoy that, Like,
- 21:57Speaker 5: like the.
- 21:58Speaker 4: Teen character is very teen in a way. That it's
- 22:02Speaker 4: not for.
- 22:04Speaker 5: And I say this as someone who's not been a
- 22:06Speaker 5: teen in a while, so like if an actual teenager
- 22:08Speaker 5: is like, no, girl, it actually is that and you
- 22:11Speaker 5: need to get it together.
- 22:12Speaker 4: You got it, You got it more than I do.
- 22:14Speaker 5: Right, But like for me, I like I do had
- 22:18Speaker 5: always whenever I was a teenager, was very annoyed by
- 22:21Speaker 5: whenever there's a teen character and they try to give
- 22:23Speaker 5: them like the lingo from like y the seventies or something,
- 22:26Speaker 5: whenever someone else, like whoever was writing it was a
- 22:28Speaker 5: teen that was a language that they use, and it's like,
- 22:30Speaker 5: I don't use that. That's not part of my life.
- 22:34Speaker 5: And I don't think they did these character that way
- 22:36Speaker 5: so far. I think they he's a regular. I think
- 22:41Speaker 5: they get it more and his energy and his reaction
- 22:45Speaker 5: to things then they actually did it in like the
- 22:48Speaker 5: lingo or whatever, which is the right way to write
- 22:51Speaker 5: like a character, Like, don't try to put like a
- 22:54Speaker 5: certain kind of like dialect on them unless there's like
- 22:57Speaker 5: from like because I can get like whenever you do
- 23:01Speaker 5: gambit with like occasion, you know, act like you know
- 23:05Speaker 5: that's like a rooted kind of character thing, and so
- 23:06Speaker 5: you don't sit over here giving me like yes, yes,
- 23:10Speaker 5: Queen Sleigh or whatever. Let's throwing out garbage like you know,
- 23:14Speaker 5: stolen aav really but just throwing off a garbage language
- 23:18Speaker 5: like yeah, Like they're not writing him to act like
- 23:22Speaker 5: a gen Z teen he is a gen Z.
- 23:25Speaker 3: He's just himself or jen is he even Jess? He's sixteen? Right,
- 23:29Speaker 3: So how I think that's technically whatever girl the babies
- 23:34Speaker 3: with the babies. The point is.
- 23:36Speaker 2: He he he just it gives off genuine right, it
- 23:40Speaker 2: doesn't give off oh you're like, because you could tell
- 23:42Speaker 2: when it's just like someone who's, as you said, you
- 23:45Speaker 2: haven't been that age in a long time, or you're
- 23:47Speaker 2: a little bit out of touch with how a modern
- 23:50Speaker 2: day kid of that age would actually be behaving and talking
- 23:54Speaker 2: in this and that. And he's like straight up what
- 23:57Speaker 2: I expect, like regular, Like, so I believe in this character.
- 24:00Speaker 2: So I like that the cat is very cute as well,
- 24:04Speaker 2: very you know, like, oh, I'm uh acta's biggest stand.
- 24:09Speaker 4: Wide to the world. The world.
- 24:11Speaker 5: You're just enjoy seeing the world through his eyes, but
- 24:14Speaker 5: also you enjoy Agatha being like chill.
- 24:18Speaker 3: Yeah, of course.
- 24:19Speaker 2: And in that episode episode like when when he encounters
- 24:24Speaker 2: Agatha because he's stile in the show with Agatha, right,
- 24:27Speaker 2: or Agtha is stolen the show and he stole with her.
- 24:30Speaker 3: He begins chanting in Latin.
- 24:32Speaker 2: I assume he's tried to chant like a release spell
- 24:35Speaker 2: or something to try to help her, and she doesn't
- 24:37Speaker 2: really get to finish, right she she apparently you know,
- 24:40Speaker 2: tapes his mouth, locks, you know, binds him and puts
- 24:43Speaker 2: him in the closet somewhere.
- 24:44Speaker 3: So I don't even know if he really got to finish.
- 24:46Speaker 2: But then like later, I think it's episode two, but
- 24:48Speaker 2: he's just like, yeah, I got you free, I released you.
- 24:51Speaker 2: I'm just like, was it really you? I think it
- 24:53Speaker 2: was Rio, But I just think you.
- 24:56Speaker 4: People just a combination of factors. Like maybe he could
- 24:58Speaker 4: have in a combination because you know, at the beginning
- 25:00Speaker 4: of the episode.
- 25:01Speaker 5: We get that Wanda's we presume it's Wanda's.
- 25:05Speaker 3: Body, Yeah, the woods in the show.
- 25:08Speaker 5: So maybe it's the combination of because like in the
- 25:11Speaker 5: timeframe and timeline is that people put together based on
- 25:15Speaker 5: what the show producers and stuff have said. They've said
- 25:18Speaker 5: that this is like not too long after the timeline
- 25:21Speaker 5: of Wanda. The events of the Multiverse and madness, and
- 25:25Speaker 5: so she.
- 25:26Speaker 3: Kills all the other different Wanda's or not killed.
- 25:30Speaker 2: I forgot what she actually did to all the other
- 25:31Speaker 2: wandas she she borrowed the other way she dream walked.
- 25:35Speaker 4: But she also like she destroyed all the dark holds.
- 25:37Speaker 3: She destroyed, right, that's what she did.
- 25:39Speaker 2: She destroyed all the universes, so there was only one.
- 25:42Speaker 4: So they don't know more dark holes available.
- 25:45Speaker 5: So it's interesting that like perhaps it was like Wanda dies,
- 25:51Speaker 5: her spell dies, possibly off like it had like loosens
- 25:55Speaker 5: up enough for real to.
- 25:56Speaker 4: Find Agatha and the AA the out of her.
- 26:02Speaker 5: That just that routine of being within the spell and
- 26:05Speaker 5: then having to confront hey, this is not real real,
- 26:09Speaker 5: and so that's also Agatha. It's on Agatha but having
- 26:11Speaker 5: to actually like learn and figure out like wait, this
- 26:14Speaker 5: isn't real, and then then the kid comes in and
- 26:18Speaker 5: then and so I feel like that in a way
- 26:20Speaker 5: I could see like, Okay, I don't know the spell
- 26:23Speaker 5: work that the kid did, it was at all like
- 26:25Speaker 5: a component like you're saying, but I think possibly the
- 26:29Speaker 5: jolt of this new space within Westview, which is like
- 26:33Speaker 5: had the same faces rolling around in her TV show,
- 26:36Speaker 5: isn't as to jolt her out of like but what
- 26:38Speaker 5: is what is happening here? So in a way, maybe
- 26:41Speaker 5: he helped without him actually thinking he helped the way
- 26:44Speaker 5: that he like not with the spell work.
- 26:46Speaker 3: Maybe you might be writing for that.
- 26:47Speaker 2: It's just a combination of things, like I presumed that,
- 26:52Speaker 2: and it could have been because you know, the dead
- 26:53Speaker 2: body would not but like the spell was already starting
- 26:55Speaker 2: to break anyway, or I really just attributed back to re.
- 27:00Speaker 2: I'm like Real must have been dropping clues and saying
- 27:02Speaker 2: shit in her ears or something like that, because throughout
- 27:05Speaker 2: the show within the show, the true crime show, like
- 27:08Speaker 2: once she saw the locket, she was already starting a
- 27:12Speaker 2: like she meaning Agatha was already starting to come out
- 27:14Speaker 2: of it, like you saw her in the beginning when
- 27:17Speaker 2: she was she was first before they even showed the
- 27:19Speaker 2: face of the body or anything, and they never really
- 27:21Speaker 2: showed us the face but before they flipped the body over,
- 27:24Speaker 2: like when she was just looking at the clues and
- 27:26Speaker 2: the crime scene, like she was seeing things and she
- 27:28Speaker 2: was slowing, like she was getting stuck, you know, like
- 27:30Speaker 2: when you start remembering, like remember who you are, like
- 27:33Speaker 2: you're starting to get stuck on things. So the lockets.
- 27:35Speaker 2: You know, she got stuck on that she and this
- 27:38Speaker 2: is down the line in that episode, but she got
- 27:39Speaker 2: stuck when she was in her desk and she was
- 27:42Speaker 2: trying to decipher that title of that book and come
- 27:46Speaker 2: to find out, the first letters of the book spell
- 27:48Speaker 2: out dark hold, right, And she got up to the
- 27:50Speaker 2: h before like she got stuck again, Like I think,
- 27:53Speaker 2: like like I'm trying to figure out exactly what was
- 27:57Speaker 2: like what was dropping these hints into her mind?
- 28:00Speaker 3: Right, because all this stuff is all mental at the
- 28:02Speaker 3: end of the day.
- 28:02Speaker 2: What was dropping all these mind hints to make her
- 28:05Speaker 2: like start realizing what the fuck was going on? And
- 28:09Speaker 2: then yeah, and and towards that. And you you made
- 28:14Speaker 2: a very good point a few moments ago when you
- 28:16Speaker 2: said you like how when when the show tells a
- 28:20Speaker 2: story and also tells it visually too, So you mentioned unraveling, right,
- 28:25Speaker 2: So she literally unraveled herself when she was getting out
- 28:28Speaker 2: of the spell, right, she was taking off all the
- 28:30Speaker 2: different clothes and genres and shows that she was, like
- 28:34Speaker 2: you saw the whole jazzer size version of her.
- 28:37Speaker 3: Then you saw.
- 28:37Speaker 2: The the the old school you know, I love Lucy
- 28:41Speaker 2: type version of her, the black and white like that.
- 28:44Speaker 2: That was fire like for that for like for her
- 28:47Speaker 2: to and you know, being within the same scene too,
- 28:49Speaker 2: like in the same room and then like you're changing
- 28:51Speaker 2: not on, you're changing clothes, you're changing hairstyles and makeup,
- 28:54Speaker 2: and you're changing literally the error you are in within
- 28:57Speaker 2: that that shit is fired. It's very very imaginative. Kudos
- 29:01Speaker 2: to the visual effects scene for for what they've done
- 29:03Speaker 2: so far.
- 29:04Speaker 5: Incredible and it feels like like that's the thing about
- 29:08Speaker 5: But for me, that's what tells a good witch story
- 29:10Speaker 5: or magical story too, is when the magic feels natural.
- 29:14Speaker 5: It doesn't feel like it's like kind of like shoved
- 29:16Speaker 5: in and like yeah, it just feels like, oh yeah, okay,
- 29:19Speaker 5: And it makes you think like what kind of magic
- 29:23Speaker 5: did they what kind of TV magic or movie magic
- 29:25Speaker 5: do they do to pull this off where it feels
- 29:28Speaker 5: natural to the environment.
- 29:29Speaker 2: Yes, the energy this gave me also was giving alis
- 29:32Speaker 2: in Wonderland, because I always feel like Alis in Wonderland
- 29:35Speaker 2: is one of those worlds where literally as you saw,
- 29:38Speaker 2: like you look to the left, you see a flower,
- 29:39Speaker 2: You turn around, you go back, and now was a mushroom.
- 29:42Speaker 2: And then you look to your right and it's something
- 29:44Speaker 2: else is there that wasn't there, like it, it's a
- 29:46Speaker 2: lot of that sleight of hand, and it's like all
- 29:49Speaker 2: elements and what we will see. I know this now,
- 29:52Speaker 2: but especially in these first few episodes, you see elements
- 29:54Speaker 2: of magic and different styles of magic, like obviously you
- 29:57Speaker 2: have the thing where people can read your mind, right
- 30:00Speaker 2: they say I can read your mind?
- 30:01Speaker 3: Or here's is this your card? Right?
- 30:02Speaker 2: And then as I mentioned sleight of hand and illusions,
- 30:06Speaker 2: like yes, witchcraft, which is different, but also they're combining
- 30:12Speaker 2: all the different related arts of what would be.
- 30:16Speaker 3: Considered under witchcraft.
- 30:17Speaker 4: Right.
- 30:17Speaker 2: So again as I mentioned all the different faces of magic,
- 30:19Speaker 2: whether for entertainment or otherwise purposes.
- 30:23Speaker 3: I think that shit is cool.
- 30:24Speaker 2: I think that shit is cool, and I'm not and
- 30:25Speaker 2: I know for you, and I'm gonna be leaning on
- 30:27Speaker 2: you for like some of this stuff because I know
- 30:29Speaker 2: you noticed shit like about okay, what.
- 30:31Speaker 3: Is this referencing? What does this mean?
- 30:33Speaker 2: And again I do just like seeing as done in
- 30:37Speaker 2: it in a really new way. And also these are
- 30:40Speaker 2: new with you know, with the exception of Katain obviously
- 30:42Speaker 2: and maybe in some of the Westview residents, these are
- 30:45Speaker 2: new people like we haven't seen these actors or actresses before,
- 30:49Speaker 2: and this is refreshing, like do something new, Niga. This
- 30:54Speaker 2: is what me and Benjaman was saying a few episodes ago.
- 30:55Speaker 2: This is what we're talking about.
- 30:57Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 30:59Speaker 4: Yeah, I think it's something that.
- 31:05Speaker 5: Yeah, so like we're gonna I do want it, like
- 31:07Speaker 5: I know, we want to keep moving forward. I just
- 31:09Speaker 5: want to note that when we're talking about like Agatha
- 31:12Speaker 5: being stuck in the genre scenes, one thing for me,
- 31:18Speaker 5: because you know, whenever you're having a dream, it felt
- 31:20Speaker 5: like like like to your point about also wondering how
- 31:22Speaker 5: it feels like a dream like sequence and things are
- 31:23Speaker 5: moving and you're just like, yes.
- 31:25Speaker 3: That was there before, keep.
- 31:27Speaker 5: Like okay, but you kind of go along with it.
- 31:29Speaker 5: You don't question it too much because that's what you
- 31:31Speaker 5: do want a dream. You just kind of keep moving.
- 31:34Speaker 5: When she goes to have the broach lock because she
- 31:37Speaker 5: doesn't put on a necklis that she just has the
- 31:38Speaker 5: little brochery part, she goes to take it to Norm
- 31:42Speaker 5: to have it like a praise. He conveniently knows things
- 31:47Speaker 5: that Agatha would know about the locket, like what time
- 31:50Speaker 5: period is from all this stuff, what these different women
- 31:54Speaker 5: with on it, mean, what kind of is made of
- 31:57Speaker 5: calvari shell? Like he knows things that Agatha who's conscious
- 32:00Speaker 5: would know about it, which is like for me a
- 32:02Speaker 5: sign that you know you're in a dream. Sometimes when
- 32:04Speaker 5: I'm in a dream, I'm like, how would you know that?
- 32:07Speaker 5: And then I'm like, oh, I'm gonna.
- 32:09Speaker 2: Dream, right, It's because it's your own mind.
- 32:14Speaker 4: Right, So that was I really enjoyed that component.
- 32:17Speaker 5: I think that was also part of the thing because
- 32:19Speaker 5: like when she was having those pauses, I think that
- 32:21Speaker 5: was her coming to terms with like but I know this,
- 32:23Speaker 5: but I don't know this, but I know this.
- 32:25Speaker 4: Like it's like having her like kind of pull it
- 32:26Speaker 4: together just.
- 32:27Speaker 3: To yourself, Yeah, you know, is in a dream, but
- 32:31Speaker 3: you rather be seen.
- 32:32Speaker 4: You don't want to leave it yet, right.
- 32:34Speaker 5: And then the other thing was that like when she
- 32:38Speaker 5: when the team shows up in her house and she
- 32:43Speaker 5: thinks he's a thief. He shows up in the room
- 32:48Speaker 5: that we saw her walk into earlier that had these
- 32:50Speaker 5: like awards for like a child named Nicholas Scratches, who.
- 32:54Speaker 4: We assume that it is.
- 32:56Speaker 3: I can tell you.
- 32:58Speaker 4: We can assume it is. I get this child at
- 33:01Speaker 4: some point.
- 33:04Speaker 2: Yeah, and towards that at least in the comic books,
- 33:07Speaker 2: Nicholas Scratch is the son of.
- 33:09Speaker 3: Agatha Harkness, and I don't know that. And this is
- 33:13Speaker 3: where Benaman comes from.
- 33:14Speaker 2: When Benamin joins the review episodes, he'll tell us more
- 33:17Speaker 2: about the background of this. But Nicholas Scratch was the
- 33:21Speaker 2: leader of New Salem, which is a Colorado community.
- 33:25Speaker 3: Populated by magic users.
- 33:26Speaker 2: So pretty much all the magic users of Marvel would
- 33:29Speaker 2: would live in this place.
- 33:30Speaker 3: And you know, also people you've never heard of all
- 33:32Speaker 3: live in there.
- 33:33Speaker 2: And this place also involves the Fantastic Four, which is
- 33:37Speaker 2: convenient considering Fantastic four is gonna release what later next.
- 33:41Speaker 3: Year or something like that.
- 33:44Speaker 2: So apparently, like according to this, Agatha so Agala lived
- 33:48Speaker 2: there with her son. She she actually left the community
- 33:51Speaker 2: to live in regular regular, the regular world everybody else where.
- 33:55Speaker 2: She became a nanny to Franklin Richards, the son of
- 33:59Speaker 2: Read and Sue Richards of the Fantastic Four, and then
- 34:02Speaker 2: obviously Shenanigans ensues, because Fantastic four ends up find ends
- 34:07Speaker 2: up going back to New Salem with her, and then
- 34:09Speaker 2: all sorts of chaos happen. Ben As mentioned, y'all got
- 34:12Speaker 2: to keep listening to this review as we go along
- 34:15Speaker 2: of the Agatha all along so you can learn more
- 34:18Speaker 2: about the comic book. But yeah, so Nicholas Scratch is,
- 34:21Speaker 2: at least in the books, a real character and is
- 34:23Speaker 2: her son.
- 34:23Speaker 3: I don't even know if he's gonna make an appearance here.
- 34:26Speaker 2: I don't know if he has already technically or what,
- 34:28Speaker 2: but we about to find out.
- 34:30Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm interested in what's happening with that. I'm also
- 34:33Speaker 5: interested in we're talking about, like we talked about the
- 34:37Speaker 5: magician level craft work, and I just don't talk about
- 34:40Speaker 5: the Also some hints of like traditional which related stuff
- 34:44Speaker 5: that we see them like already sliding into the tell.
- 34:48Speaker 5: So one Wanda was stoned, which is a traditional like
- 34:53Speaker 5: way to get rid of witches, right like in Salem
- 34:55Speaker 5: Era and all that medieval period.
- 34:58Speaker 4: W put them in the water, drown like all those things.
- 35:04Speaker 5: And then the brooch itself is like the Maiden, the Mother,
- 35:08Speaker 5: the crone, and that is like a traditional like you know,
- 35:15Speaker 5: old the old white witchcraft kind of thing. The fact
- 35:19Speaker 5: that it's done with calorie shell's interesting to me because
- 35:22Speaker 5: calary shells are traditionally like scan.
- 35:27Speaker 3: So is there something out the Agaa stole or I'm
- 35:33Speaker 3: just saying Calorie.
- 35:35Speaker 2: Show once she said, thank you Porscha for damn it, Portia,
- 35:37Speaker 2: thank you for mentioning that. Because when they said that,
- 35:40Speaker 2: and I was watching, oh girl, which I get.
- 35:43Speaker 4: Herself, was like, what is that? And it's like, girl,
- 35:44Speaker 4: if you don't know what it is, but why you
- 35:46Speaker 4: got it?
- 35:46Speaker 5: Like, so that's what a metaphor what do we what
- 35:50Speaker 5: are we talking about here?
- 35:51Speaker 4: Oh, we're in paralyzing spices, but we don't know what
- 35:54Speaker 4: to do.
- 35:54Speaker 3: With them Viking raids. But anyway, continue.
- 35:59Speaker 5: And when Agatha's writing, like when she's still in the show,
- 36:06Speaker 5: in her head, she has a red pin, which read
- 36:09Speaker 5: is traditionally a color of witching or like Harlotte women,
- 36:15Speaker 5: but both because people will like to associate, which was
- 36:17Speaker 5: with both right, right, And so she's writing in a
- 36:20Speaker 5: writing in a red pin when she could have chosen
- 36:22Speaker 5: so many other colors to be writing in for the show.
- 36:24Speaker 5: We later see someone writing in a black pin and
- 36:26Speaker 5: she's got this red one. So that was purposeful and
- 36:30Speaker 5: also Wanda, Yeah, very purposeful and yeah, I just want
- 36:37Speaker 5: to like, so I've been like trying to take up
- 36:39Speaker 5: like any notions of like literally I'm like I try
- 36:41Speaker 5: to have a moment. I'm not saying I'm catching all
- 36:44Speaker 5: of them, no.
- 36:45Speaker 2: But what you do catch definitely share because you know
- 36:48Speaker 2: the context behind it is what gives the show even
- 36:51Speaker 2: more depth.
- 36:52Speaker 4: Even more Yeah, and then like the broach itself, I know.
- 36:56Speaker 5: Was Agatha from the comic books, like traditional, So it's
- 37:01Speaker 5: like and she had it during WandaVision and now they're
- 37:04Speaker 5: caring get over to her, like catching herself again in
- 37:07Speaker 5: the water, and it's interesting that again traditional way of drowning,
- 37:11Speaker 5: which of like getting rid of butch's just drowning them
- 37:13Speaker 5: and her broach was sitting in the water.
- 37:17Speaker 2: Look at that, look at that you mean, look at
- 37:19Speaker 2: you paying attention and shit, I appreciate you. Okay, let
- 37:25Speaker 2: me mention up some additional characters. So we also episode two,
- 37:28Speaker 2: we run into Shashar Zameita, who plays the character Jennifer Kale.
- 37:33Speaker 2: I've loved Shashier from SNL. I know she's she's now
- 37:37Speaker 2: diving more into acting and other ventures. It's so interesting
- 37:43Speaker 2: that her her characters is giving scammer slash causs. They
- 37:49Speaker 2: call her a fraud or at they call her fraud,
- 37:52Speaker 2: but she's giving a little bit scammer it's.
- 37:55Speaker 5: Funny because her whole thing when I talk about people
- 38:01Speaker 5: like so I get the sentence. First off, she I
- 38:07Speaker 5: guess already like she's just crotchety. Yeah, I don't want
- 38:10Speaker 5: to get moved, like before we get into I sorry.
- 38:14Speaker 5: So I also want to note that, like when they
- 38:16Speaker 5: we leave, before we leave Westview to go on the
- 38:19Speaker 5: hunts for because the covening members, Uh, we see the
- 38:22Speaker 5: foundations of Wanda's house still there, and yes, seeing the
- 38:26Speaker 5: craft out of it, and I get the spins at it,
- 38:29Speaker 5: and I'm like, I get the girl, like I understand
- 38:32Speaker 5: even under a spell for a long period, but you
- 38:34Speaker 5: would have done worse to Wanda. You were about to
- 38:37Speaker 5: do worse to her. So I kind of feel away
- 38:40Speaker 5: about like you don't get the I laugh and I'm
- 38:44Speaker 5: like because I'm like, why are you jumped? I laughed
- 38:47Speaker 5: like dead body, like why are she took my powers?
- 38:50Speaker 3: Because she did to Agrifa.
- 38:53Speaker 2: Wanda did to Agrifa what Agna was trying to do
- 38:55Speaker 2: to Wanda and got the one up on her. She pissed,
- 38:58Speaker 2: I was dying and laught and but yeah, I love
- 39:01Speaker 2: seeing the founda because literally Westview looks like the way
- 39:04Speaker 2: it was left when we were last there three four
- 39:07Speaker 2: years ago. Now at this point, when we watched Lona
- 39:10Speaker 2: Vision and you know the way everything got broke up,
- 39:13Speaker 2: and there it is, that's all it's left.
- 39:14Speaker 3: So I get it. That's her worst night man, So
- 39:17Speaker 3: fuck you.
- 39:18Speaker 4: Yeah, I got why.
- 39:19Speaker 3: She was mad. It was funny to me.
- 39:21Speaker 4: It was I was just like, girl, what's up? Okay?
- 39:23Speaker 4: And then it's funny.
- 39:24Speaker 5: It was funny that you say that, like west Pe
- 39:26Speaker 5: looks a way that it was whenever three or four
- 39:28Speaker 5: years ago, because I remember whenever.
- 39:31Speaker 4: She was still in her genre moment.
- 39:34Speaker 5: They were at the library and they had a whole
- 39:35Speaker 5: bookcase that was burnt out, and I'm like, who and there,
- 39:38Speaker 5: like would leave a burn's bookcase and an active library.
- 39:43Speaker 5: It's like another dream thinger like this isn't make any sense?
- 39:47Speaker 4: Uh. And then that guy behind.
- 39:48Speaker 2: Them, I'm the random guy in the book and the
- 39:50Speaker 2: stacks like somebody burned the books and it dipped out.
- 39:53Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, it's just even more understanding that brauh
- 39:58Speaker 2: you is not in the real world.
- 40:00Speaker 4: But also is that guy gonna come back? Is he
- 40:02Speaker 4: in poor ally somewhere?
- 40:04Speaker 3: I just did I thought he was just one of
- 40:05Speaker 3: the residents that just kept popping.
- 40:06Speaker 4: But we never seen his face before.
- 40:08Speaker 2: Hmm, true, maybe that's Nicholas. Who knows, I mean, who knows,
- 40:14Speaker 2: who knows? Who knows what you have to say about
- 40:16Speaker 2: Jennifer Kele.
- 40:16Speaker 5: But Jennifer Kele, she is like whenever again we mentioned earlier,
- 40:22Speaker 5: whenever they've run into each other, like I was mentioning
- 40:27Speaker 5: the foundations, because Agatha has been crotchety and acting out
- 40:31Speaker 5: like as soon as she as soon as she's the
- 40:33Speaker 5: spelled in the spell, she was not very pleasant. She
- 40:37Speaker 5: was just like, yeah, I know, I'm a problem, like
- 40:39Speaker 5: I'm herb. I'm gonna do what I need to do.
- 40:42Speaker 5: And then she gets out of the spell and she's
- 40:44Speaker 5: not any more pleasant. She is a little kookie, which
- 40:46Speaker 5: is fun, but she's she is not that pleasant.
- 40:49Speaker 4: And so when she talks to Jen she.
- 40:52Speaker 5: Walks into her store talking about the Yanni eggs and
- 40:57Speaker 5: king Gles and like it's.
- 40:59Speaker 4: Like, even, no, you don't like you know, she does
- 41:03Speaker 4: not f with you.
- 41:04Speaker 5: And the first thing you do is make her like,
- 41:06Speaker 5: I guess if I get this thing is to be
- 41:07Speaker 5: provocative and just yes, throw and.
- 41:10Speaker 3: It ain't got no cool, then don't give a fuck.
- 41:12Speaker 4: She don't.
- 41:14Speaker 5: And so for me Jens reaction that was just like Lord,
- 41:17Speaker 5: like I was just trying to make a spell like
- 41:20Speaker 5: a cell and here come, here she comes. And it's
- 41:22Speaker 5: funny that whenever she gets confronted with her like fraudulent cases,
- 41:27Speaker 5: because it's like his team does the same thing he
- 41:29Speaker 5: did to get in with Agatha. To Gin, he's like,
- 41:32Speaker 5: oh my gosh, I love your Instagram, like you are
- 41:35Speaker 5: so everything. And then and the next breath, whenever Jen
- 41:38Speaker 5: is like, no, I'm not joining your stupid Kevin, it's like.
- 41:43Speaker 4: Oh, but you want you have court case?
- 41:46Speaker 5: Right, Like, what are I supposed to be selling these
- 41:49Speaker 5: candles because you set the fire with these candles?
- 41:53Speaker 2: Hmmm. I what I got from it was and it's
- 41:57Speaker 2: so modern day. It's the influencer that uses their influence,
- 42:04Speaker 2: their popularity and stuff to get by, get money whatever.
- 42:08Speaker 2: But at the end of the day, they are a snake,
- 42:09Speaker 2: all salesmen. And we do find out that miss Kale
- 42:15Speaker 2: is bound, which you can talk a bit about what
- 42:18Speaker 2: that means specifically.
- 42:18Speaker 3: I just I just understood it.
- 42:19Speaker 2: To me, someone stops her, some somebody puts something a
- 42:23Speaker 2: hex or something on her, so that she can't use
- 42:25Speaker 2: her powers. And if that's what it is, cool, But
- 42:29Speaker 2: this happened, This is powerful and strong and happened a
- 42:31Speaker 2: long fucking time ago. Could have been Angela Bassett who
- 42:33Speaker 2: did it from cutting but Leo right right, miss Lebo,
- 42:40Speaker 2: and so now for all. And they also said she's
- 42:42Speaker 2: like four hundred years old something crazy too, right, like
- 42:44Speaker 2: all of these, all of these which has been around
- 42:46Speaker 2: the block. Okay, so something went down right, and and
- 42:50Speaker 2: I so, like I said, I do like how they
- 42:52Speaker 2: have characterized Jennifer Kell as the typical really untrustworthy influencer
- 42:58Speaker 2: who that content slash content creator who is just there
- 43:03Speaker 2: for the buck and it doesn't really have substance behind her,
- 43:07Speaker 2: but you can tell there's more to her story and
- 43:09Speaker 2: I want to learn more. She's also the only black woman,
- 43:12Speaker 2: which that we know as of now. I don't know
- 43:14Speaker 2: there will be another, but she is the only black woman,
- 43:17Speaker 2: which which so I'm checking for her.
- 43:18Speaker 4: And then I see you so far right.
- 43:21Speaker 2: Well, I'm just talking about the show, but maybe an
- 43:22Speaker 2: MC you too, I don't know, I mean.
- 43:24Speaker 4: Like present day, Oh yeah, you know.
- 43:28Speaker 3: I don't fucking know.
- 43:29Speaker 2: So I don't, I don't, I haven't seen it so
- 43:33Speaker 2: that but you know, I do like her.
- 43:36Speaker 3: I do want to see her girl.
- 43:37Speaker 2: Like one thing they have done, like they did a
- 43:40Speaker 2: very good job building not necessarily backstory, but building the
- 43:45Speaker 2: character profile. And then I hope ads we because this
- 43:48Speaker 2: is nine episodes in this series, I hope we will
- 43:50Speaker 2: at least get time as the series goes where they'll
- 43:53Speaker 2: probably dwell on each of the now you know, members
- 43:57Speaker 2: of this coven of Aglas New Coven, so you can
- 44:00Speaker 2: get some more backstory on why they ended up the
- 44:02Speaker 2: way they did or why they went through the way
- 44:05Speaker 2: they did, because I want to know who the fuck
- 44:07Speaker 2: bound her and like, again, was it on some portrayal shit?
- 44:10Speaker 3: Like what happened?
- 44:14Speaker 4: So I don't like Tatiana.
- 44:16Speaker 5: I watched all four episodes, and I'll tell you that
- 44:18Speaker 5: we're gonna get that answer soon.
- 44:19Speaker 4: They thank you.
- 44:22Speaker 3: I want to and That's what I'm saying.
- 44:23Speaker 2: And I hope that they do this, and they do
- 44:26Speaker 2: this fairly with all the characters, that you really get
- 44:29Speaker 2: some good time to just find that out. And they
- 44:31Speaker 2: and when I say fairly, I mean like just giving
- 44:33Speaker 2: an equal amount of time and interesting stuff, because especially
- 44:36Speaker 2: if one of these characters ends up being more interesting
- 44:39Speaker 2: than we thought. Then this could be someone that they
- 44:42Speaker 2: then continue boosting up through either another series or through
- 44:46Speaker 2: one of the films.
- 44:46Speaker 3: Right, so I would love.
- 44:47Speaker 4: To see that.
- 44:48Speaker 5: Yeah, it's like it feels from seeing the other two episodes,
- 44:52Speaker 5: it feels like they're doing a very ensemble cast thing,
- 44:54Speaker 5: and I who has the energy they continue to come
- 44:56Speaker 5: at this show with.
- 44:57Speaker 4: It's like an ensemble.
- 44:58Speaker 5: Everyone gets their moment, everyone has their part of the
- 45:01Speaker 5: melody that they're gonna get a little solo on.
- 45:03Speaker 3: For a bit, exactly exactly.
- 45:05Speaker 2: We also have ali On who plays Alice wool Gulliver.
- 45:10Speaker 2: She is considered the blood witch, which is which Agatha says,
- 45:14Speaker 2: is a witch who is a daughter or a girl
- 45:16Speaker 2: who is the daughter of a witch. I assume she
- 45:18Speaker 2: has powers too, but she's born to be she has
- 45:20Speaker 2: blood powers, right, so so it was passed down to
- 45:23Speaker 2: her if you will write.
- 45:25Speaker 5: Yeah, it's so I don't know that she and her
- 45:29Speaker 5: mother like her mother was also a protection witch.
- 45:31Speaker 4: Like I don't know if you know.
- 45:32Speaker 5: I mean, I don't know if it's like a direct
- 45:34Speaker 5: like hand off, like if I'm a production witch and
- 45:36Speaker 5: I have a daughter, that daughter also is like I
- 45:39Speaker 5: don't know if that's the way that works, gotcha, but
- 45:44Speaker 5: that's what she she's it is funny because she's I
- 45:47Speaker 5: get Okay, So the backtrack a little bit. Agatha starts
- 45:51Speaker 5: this episode with talking to the teen about there being
- 45:57Speaker 5: this uh covin stead of rule, where with wherever witches
- 46:03Speaker 5: within three miles radius of her, there are enough other
- 46:06Speaker 5: witches for them to have a coven, right, and so
- 46:10Speaker 5: for they go to the first thing that looks something
- 46:13Speaker 5: like promising like thing, which is the psychic, and the
- 46:16Speaker 5: psychic gives them the list to go to these other witches.
- 46:20Speaker 5: And so with when I get this noting the witches,
- 46:24Speaker 5: she's noting which witch is which kind of Witch's said
- 46:27Speaker 5: a lot of witches, but you know what I mean,
- 46:29Speaker 5: like which wich is a defination one? Which one is
- 46:32Speaker 5: the one of Like, so she notes that Alice is
- 46:37Speaker 5: the protection witch. And it's funny because Alice is sitting
- 46:41Speaker 5: there as a security guard at like right, they don't
- 46:43Speaker 5: say hot topic, but it's basically hot topic, absolutely hot topic.
- 46:49Speaker 5: And it's funny because the teen character, who is like,
- 46:52Speaker 5: you know, wearing eyeliner, this is like he's.
- 46:54Speaker 4: Like, like, are we here? Because you are making a joke.
- 46:58Speaker 3: About like, no, this is my aesthetic. But I didn't.
- 47:03Speaker 5: I don't know about this, Like I'm a bit more
- 47:05Speaker 5: bougie than a hot topic.
- 47:07Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 47:08Speaker 3: Oh my god.
- 47:08Speaker 2: And Alice is also apparently a former police officer, so
- 47:12Speaker 2: because they make mention it that she because I think
- 47:14Speaker 2: she said police officer, like when she got off the force,
- 47:16Speaker 2: Like she's just basically looking for work. And it's interesting
- 47:19Speaker 2: because Alice's mom apparently is very famous and I presume
- 47:23Speaker 2: very rich too. She is the one that and you
- 47:27Speaker 2: must know more about this because you you watch more episodes.
- 47:31Speaker 2: But like she is the one that they said actually
- 47:33Speaker 2: wrote the Ballad of the Witches, which is that right?
- 47:36Speaker 4: But when but she's after she wrote it that she
- 47:40Speaker 4: made the.
- 47:40Speaker 2: Most popular, she made the most popular version, thank you,
- 47:43Speaker 2: she made the most They said that that they made
- 47:44Speaker 2: she made the most popular version of the song. So
- 47:46Speaker 2: again through that, I just discerned, okay, this is you know,
- 47:49Speaker 2: like she be cause she and also even Alice just
- 47:51Speaker 2: looked at them like oh they just some other groupies
- 47:53Speaker 2: looked at when when Agatha and teen walked in, She's like, oh,
- 47:56Speaker 2: here come the groupies again, you know, like she's used
- 47:58Speaker 2: to that, which is why I'm just like, oh, she
- 47:59Speaker 2: must be the order of like a superstar.
- 48:01Speaker 4: Yeah, I get to call her mama rock goddess.
- 48:04Speaker 2: Okay, well there it is, so and I don't know,
- 48:06Speaker 2: you know, at this point, I don't know how old
- 48:07Speaker 2: her mother is or what demo that her mom is
- 48:10Speaker 2: serving this point, or if she's like, you know, one
- 48:11Speaker 2: of those legends that always famous.
- 48:13Speaker 3: No matter what. So they gave me that like jaded,
- 48:16Speaker 3: rich kid kind of thing.
- 48:18Speaker 2: But also Alice herself is a little older, So I
- 48:21Speaker 2: was just like, Okay, why the hell are you working
- 48:22Speaker 2: at hot topic? It's like, what about you? Where you
- 48:26Speaker 2: are stuck in places like this?
- 48:27Speaker 4: Right?
- 48:28Speaker 3: Why are you no longer a police officer? What happened
- 48:30Speaker 3: with you? Who did you hurt?
- 48:32Speaker 4: Right?
- 48:32Speaker 3: Like, oh what what betrayal happened to you?
- 48:35Speaker 2: Like I feel like it's gonna be the same situe
- 48:37Speaker 2: or similar situations and to.
- 48:40Speaker 5: Get into the akathe of it all well, because and
- 48:44Speaker 5: it's clear when we talk about each of the witches,
- 48:46Speaker 5: she's strong arming them into joining her on her quest
- 48:51Speaker 5: to go onto the Witches Road. Which again it's interesting
- 48:55Speaker 5: because the teen character at from the teen's first, I'm
- 49:00Speaker 5: sure the teen is like, oh, I'm the one who's
- 49:03Speaker 5: getting her you know, gas step and wanting to go
- 49:04Speaker 5: on the road put giving her the question in the
- 49:06Speaker 5: first place, and it's like I took that I was
- 49:08Speaker 5: gonna figure out how to get her powers back no
- 49:09Speaker 5: matter what. But it's interesting that she came up with
- 49:12Speaker 5: to her with the solution to the issue as soon
- 49:15Speaker 5: as she.
- 49:16Speaker 4: Pops out or whatever.
- 49:17Speaker 5: And we don't really know the teen's motivation to why
- 49:20Speaker 5: the team was going to be the Witch's Road, but
- 49:22Speaker 5: we do know Agatha's and we do know the other witches,
- 49:25Speaker 5: and so it's interesting because with Alice, we hear that
- 49:28Speaker 5: her mom has either dead or gone missing.
- 49:32Speaker 3: She's gone missing, and she's on the.
- 49:33Speaker 5: Witch's Road presumably, and so that is her motivation is
- 49:37Speaker 5: possibly it's for her to want to see her mother.
- 49:40Speaker 2: Right Well, team team does say his motivation, he says,
- 49:44Speaker 2: or they say that their motivation is and Agatha calls
- 49:49Speaker 2: it skipping steps, but it seems like their motivation is
- 49:53Speaker 2: getting power because they said they want to be able
- 49:56Speaker 2: to blast, and they want to be able to levitate,
- 49:58Speaker 2: and they want to be able to float. That's what
- 50:00Speaker 2: Teen says so, and I believe they even say power
- 50:03Speaker 2: at the end, but that's essentially what their motivation is.
- 50:07Speaker 2: So I'm also concerned about that because power corrupts obviously,
- 50:10Speaker 2: as we know, and they're only sixteen, so I'm just like, but.
- 50:13Speaker 5: It's funny because the teen keeps saying that the road
- 50:18Speaker 5: gives you your greatest wish or something.
- 50:20Speaker 3: Like your greatest wish.
- 50:21Speaker 2: Yeah, And I'm like, because they because they've read the
- 50:24Speaker 2: they read whatever the end of the ballad says.
- 50:27Speaker 5: Right, So I'm like, I don't I'm wondering if power
- 50:32Speaker 5: is actually the teen's greatest wish given like the little
- 50:36Speaker 5: drops of like clues that we get. And again Ben
- 50:40Speaker 5: can probably attest to this more because knows the comics more.
- 50:43Speaker 5: But I did note that, like, so, a lot of
- 50:45Speaker 5: people are thinking that teen is Wigan, which is one
- 50:48Speaker 5: of Wanda's kids, and whenever the color risation, like the
- 50:52Speaker 5: colors of clothing that he wears, like ties into that
- 50:55Speaker 5: and his kind of ties into it.
- 50:57Speaker 4: But then also when they're in.
- 50:59Speaker 5: The car, he gets a phone call from someone that
- 51:01Speaker 5: is listed in his boyfriend's and Wicked is econonically gay,
- 51:10Speaker 5: so that's another clue or whatever. It's like possibly being wicked.
- 51:14Speaker 5: But I'm like, I think I don't know. I like,
- 51:16Speaker 5: you never know with Marvel if they're gonna give you
- 51:19Speaker 5: the ookie dope into something else.
- 51:22Speaker 2: I mean it would be cool, like just if if
- 51:24Speaker 2: they flipped it, like or if they even let it
- 51:27Speaker 2: right into it, like who knows? Because also these aren't
- 51:30Speaker 2: like characters that people know off the back of their hand,
- 51:32Speaker 2: like that whole thing and Wanta vision that was left
- 51:35Speaker 2: field for a lot of people, like unless you have
- 51:37Speaker 2: have been an avid read of the comic books for
- 51:39Speaker 2: you know, at least ten plus years, you may not
- 51:41Speaker 2: have even known who these people even are. So maybe
- 51:46Speaker 2: who knows? And that that's just like a good point though,
- 51:49Speaker 2: like what who is? And obviously who teen really is?
- 51:52Speaker 2: And then even when Teen again back to the whole
- 51:55Speaker 2: visual effects, when team went into try to explain their
- 51:58Speaker 2: backstory in the car, you saw all of a sudden,
- 52:02Speaker 2: both Wanta and us the audience, we couldn't even hear him,
- 52:04Speaker 2: like literally the volume that turned out now she turned down,
- 52:07Speaker 2: she turned up.
- 52:07Speaker 3: She was like, is it my hearing turned up the
- 52:10Speaker 3: radio volume? No problem?
- 52:11Speaker 2: But anything he said, anything that Teen says that relates
- 52:15Speaker 2: to who they actually are, their name, their characters. You
- 52:19Speaker 2: don't hear. They do not allow you here. They do
- 52:22Speaker 2: allow you to hear the motivations for going to the road,
- 52:24Speaker 2: but they don't allow you to hear who this person is.
- 52:29Speaker 5: And they're willing to share it. They're like, oh, like,
- 52:31Speaker 5: I'm from this town. I'm glad you asked. I'm from
- 52:33Speaker 5: this town and my parents do this and then they're
- 52:35Speaker 5: like yeah.
- 52:37Speaker 2: And also I liked, like, especially with the whole thing
- 52:41Speaker 2: of of the stitching of the mouth, where like a
- 52:43Speaker 2: lot of times like if the character, if they like
- 52:45Speaker 2: just turn off the volume, you can read the character's lips. Right,
- 52:48Speaker 2: They made it so that you couldn't even read the
- 52:50Speaker 2: captor's lips even when they turned down the volume. They
- 52:52Speaker 2: cut away from you seeing teen talk so you couldn't know.
- 52:57Speaker 3: And that let's look.
- 52:59Speaker 4: At his lips like she's trying to lift read and
- 53:02Speaker 4: still can't get it.
- 53:02Speaker 2: She's like yes, yes, yes, so again again very very
- 53:06Speaker 2: well done. Then we also have the actress Patti LuPone
- 53:12Speaker 2: who plays Lilia called Deru, and Lilia is the psychic or.
- 53:17Speaker 3: She had the psychic shop that we.
- 53:19Speaker 2: Run into and she's she's the one now she's she's
- 53:22Speaker 2: a cat. She's the one that's gonna make me laugh.
- 53:24Speaker 2: She's in my head right now. She's the comedy relief
- 53:26Speaker 2: because that lady hearing, seeing, touching, feeling things that aren't there,
- 53:32Speaker 2: saying who that?
- 53:33Speaker 3: And what was that?
- 53:33Speaker 4: And who?
- 53:34Speaker 2: Like she is going through it and I want to
- 53:36Speaker 2: know what the fuck happened to her?
- 53:38Speaker 3: And is she possessed?
- 53:41Speaker 4: And she's possessed?
- 53:43Speaker 3: I just because for her to be like she's just
- 53:45Speaker 3: sitting there, she's like who that?
- 53:46Speaker 2: Like I'm just like, okay, lady, you gotta you gotta
- 53:50Speaker 2: to relax, my girl, Like and then her screaming and
- 53:53Speaker 2: her making all these noises and stuff like what is now?
- 53:56Speaker 2: I'm like, bro, who broke you? She feels like a witch?
- 54:00Speaker 2: Who broke you?
- 54:02Speaker 3: And was it? What the magic word?
- 54:04Speaker 2: Wasn't betrayalh Like this is this the tie that binds
- 54:10Speaker 2: all of these witches together?
- 54:11Speaker 3: But also being bullied by Agatha and.
- 54:14Speaker 5: Like betrayal, plus the fact that like they're all hard up,
- 54:19Speaker 5: like I said.
- 54:20Speaker 3: Like they they are all down. I guess.
- 54:27Speaker 5: Agatha even says that to the teen she a team
- 54:29Speaker 5: is like who's gonna wanted to join your Country's like
- 54:32Speaker 5: I expect them, the the ones who need it, they're
- 54:36Speaker 5: gonna join. And you know when you're right, you're right,
- 54:41Speaker 5: and you like she had a target audious and she
- 54:46Speaker 5: got the like and it's so sad because like the
- 54:51Speaker 5: again reads this woman down Lilia reads her down homegirl
- 54:56Speaker 5: had an eviction notice on her door, and I can
- 55:00Speaker 5: it's like, you need this, Like.
- 55:03Speaker 4: She's like, I'm not gonna join you.
- 55:05Speaker 5: But I'll give you a list of witches for you
- 55:06Speaker 5: to go talk to and not gonna just like, oh
- 55:08Speaker 5: are you baby, because you're one you're on this.
- 55:11Speaker 4: List, and two you need this. Look at this as note,
- 55:13Speaker 4: still play with me.
- 55:14Speaker 2: Broke ass niggas teen and sixteen and got no money,
- 55:17Speaker 2: Jennifer Kell scamma selling candles, got two customers, you ain't,
- 55:20Speaker 2: got no money, got a case, got a case that
- 55:23Speaker 2: she gotta got a case baka gotta wear case.
- 55:26Speaker 3: Okay, and she's bound.
- 55:28Speaker 4: What's she gonna get back from?
- 55:30Speaker 3: Alice working at Hot Topic and got no money?
- 55:33Speaker 2: Lily a fake ass psychic and got nobody coming in
- 55:36Speaker 2: that hole and got no money. Everybody down fucking back
- 55:39Speaker 2: and then real, I don't know what the hell is
- 55:41Speaker 2: going on or real, but something's gone, something will require
- 55:45Speaker 2: her to join obviously, because that's who we see and
- 55:47Speaker 2: all the other in the trailers and she's with the group.
- 55:50Speaker 2: So and as what's funny, what was very funny is,
- 55:54Speaker 2: as you mentioned in that list, all these people's names
- 55:56Speaker 2: are lists except for one. The last one that they
- 55:59Speaker 2: said wasn't a name. It was a picture that Lilia
- 56:02Speaker 2: drew was a picture of a black heart. And as
- 56:04Speaker 2: we know from an earlier scene, Aubrey excuse me, Rio
- 56:08Speaker 2: says I'm your heart. I'm your heart, Aga, I'm your
- 56:11Speaker 2: black heart. Right, So now we know who that's refers to.
- 56:14Speaker 2: And in that case, she is considered the earth, which
- 56:18Speaker 2: obviously Agla don't fuck with her, is not gonna go
- 56:21Speaker 2: look for her. So she finds who can I just say,
- 56:24Speaker 2: is a heart that deals with earth? Oh, missus Hart
- 56:27Speaker 2: who likes the garden. And I'm just like, she ain't
- 56:30Speaker 2: got no bouce, So that's kind of And I didn't
- 56:33Speaker 2: think the damn door was gonna open, but for it
- 56:35Speaker 2: to open anyway, I was like, what, So is.
- 56:39Speaker 3: She is missus heart gonna get hurt?
- 56:41Speaker 2: Is she gonna get when is she gonna get replaced
- 56:43Speaker 2: with rio, Like, what the fuck? Please don't leave missus
- 56:45Speaker 2: Hart out of that. She's been through enough. Her husband
- 56:48Speaker 2: died die.
- 56:49Speaker 5: I was, she said, I was, like, was it because
- 56:51Speaker 5: of the complications, Like they're like Wanda basically had him
- 56:55Speaker 5: dying at the table, ye, And.
- 56:58Speaker 2: Then I thought that was I thought she be ended
- 57:00Speaker 2: up making him die by the end and all that.
- 57:03Speaker 3: So letting missus Hart out.
- 57:05Speaker 2: Of this, like you literally literally and figuratively dragging her
- 57:09Speaker 2: down to the gates and the born lady that.
- 57:12Speaker 5: She's going to a party. She's been lonely, she ain't
- 57:14Speaker 5: got nine none to do butt garden and here you
- 57:16Speaker 5: are offering her a good time and you're offering her
- 57:18Speaker 5: a good time to hell.
- 57:20Speaker 3: Like she was feeling it too.
- 57:21Speaker 2: I feel I feel I felt bad, But yeah, just
- 57:24Speaker 2: the whole double unchonement all that stuff, and and then yes,
- 57:27Speaker 2: the the visual story. You're literally walking down through the gates,
- 57:32Speaker 2: down to the gates of Hell. That's where the fuck
- 57:35Speaker 2: is which that's what the richest road is, my nigga.
- 57:37Speaker 2: They only be ass a blob himself.
- 57:40Speaker 4: And the other day.
- 57:42Speaker 5: And it's not that they have another option, because they're right,
- 57:46Speaker 5: they're trying to outrun.
- 57:48Speaker 4: I get this heat like burdens because the seven.
- 57:52Speaker 5: And when we talk about visual effects, the seven, that's
- 57:55Speaker 5: what I feel like the seven. Like Okay, I know
- 57:59Speaker 5: this is like, you know, there's so many different ways
- 58:01Speaker 5: people can take references. This is not like, you know,
- 58:06Speaker 5: Lovecraft Country. Aren't the folks to make people who have
- 58:10Speaker 5: jerky movements look visually interesting on a television show. However,
- 58:16Speaker 5: the way they have the seven unfold from each other
- 58:19Speaker 5: and like it's like one shadowy figure and then it
- 58:21Speaker 5: becomes multiple shadowy figures and they're all masked uff and
- 58:24Speaker 5: they're all drinking kind.
- 58:25Speaker 3: Of moving and then seven yea.
- 58:27Speaker 5: And like this kind of gives me look like how
- 58:29Speaker 5: they had those like two girls who were dancing or whatever,
- 58:34Speaker 5: those like dolls.
- 58:35Speaker 3: Oh yeah, they was given dementors. They was giving dementors
- 58:39Speaker 3: for me, and it was a little scary, Like it was.
- 58:41Speaker 5: Like because that's the kind of stuff that spooks me
- 58:44Speaker 5: the most, Like I, you know, I don't do Gore.
- 58:47Speaker 3: I don't like blimey.
- 58:48Speaker 5: That freaks me out. Like I don't even like rais Anatomy.
- 58:51Speaker 5: I would watch it. I can't watch the surgery scenes.
- 58:52Speaker 5: I look away and like I'm back.
- 58:53Speaker 2: I don't really no, I just I don't like nasty horror,
- 58:56Speaker 2: like I don't need body horror like I just it's
- 59:00Speaker 2: to you doing it to me, it's a lot.
- 59:02Speaker 5: I just went like, there's a movie called Anatomy of
- 59:06Speaker 5: a Body's a horror movie and it's mostly them doing surgery.
- 59:11Speaker 5: So if you can like sit through watching like Gray's Anatomy,
- 59:13Speaker 5: it's mostly them doing surgery, and I tell you how
- 59:16Speaker 5: to keep looking away.
- 59:17Speaker 4: But it was an interesting movie. I just couldn't. It's
- 59:19Speaker 4: this I can't see body anyway there was.
- 59:24Speaker 5: The cool thing for me is that like whenever a
- 59:26Speaker 5: like freak me out and like, please people don't try
- 59:29Speaker 5: to dis in real life, I don't want to be
- 59:32Speaker 5: I do want to be spooked when I know I'm
- 59:33Speaker 5: about to be spooked, not just for fun like someone
- 59:35Speaker 5: doing it to me.
- 59:36Speaker 3: Noah.
- 59:38Speaker 4: I whenever there's something in the corner of.
- 59:40Speaker 3: Your eye and you're like, what is what was that
- 59:46Speaker 3: over there?
- 59:49Speaker 5: When something when that stuff happens, that's the stuff that
- 59:53Speaker 5: picks me out the most, because it's like.
- 59:56Speaker 4: I looked over there a minute ago, it was just
- 59:58Speaker 4: the leaf.
- 59:59Speaker 5: It m I could be a we gonna look back
- 1:00:00Speaker 5: over there because what might not be And that's how
- 1:00:05Speaker 5: those the seven popped up. Like it was like like
- 1:00:09Speaker 5: they're meant to be scary, and they are, but for
- 1:00:12Speaker 5: me it was interesting that like and it's like, I'm
- 1:00:15Speaker 5: not gonna play no games. I know they're after Agatha,
- 1:00:18Speaker 5: but if I'm in her house and they coming over here,
- 1:00:20Speaker 5: I'm gonna go cause like, why am I gonna say
- 1:00:22Speaker 5: I they don't like they move like they Oh no, honey, baby,
- 1:00:25Speaker 5: you're not Agatha.
- 1:00:26Speaker 4: That's fine.
- 1:00:27Speaker 5: You can leave where I can do anything to you.
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: No, I'm I mean, they never really got to him,
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: but I wonder if they would have hurt well, obviously
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: they would have just you know, stomped on the rest
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: of them just for being there. You know, just by
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: being present. You're guilty by association at that point. So
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: you're gonna catch the lve too.
- 1:00:45Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm not seven.
- 1:00:48Speaker 5: I think are like, while Rio is definitely like a
- 1:00:52Speaker 5: foil to Agatha, like the Seven are the real threat
- 1:00:56Speaker 5: to Agatha because they're the reason why she's.
- 1:00:58Speaker 4: Taking herself to the road the first place.
- 1:01:01Speaker 5: When Rio says I'm sticking to seven on you, She's like, now,
- 1:01:03Speaker 5: let me at least give my powers, like let me,
- 1:01:07Speaker 5: let me be able to defend myself, because that's a
- 1:01:09Speaker 5: blood bed Like what the am I supposed to do?
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: That's what the terminat is coming after you?
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: You have no weapons, like what nigga what Like I'm
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: I saying like and that's why I do Like Agatha,
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: like she's like, I'm not gonna sit here on on
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: no funck shit, and like just take it.
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: I'm gonna go figure this. You know, I'm gonna defend myself.
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: I'm a I'm a I like that just taking agency, right,
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: And that's also the character and the and the will
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: of a witch, right, like I'm not just gonna fucking
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: sit here and take your ship.
- 1:01:37Speaker 5: But I still think that It's like she's not in
- 1:01:39Speaker 5: denial about the fact that like who she.
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: Is, she's very narcissistics.
- 1:01:44Speaker 5: But she's only who the she is, Like she knows,
- 1:01:47Speaker 5: she knows her list of crimes, like she knows what
- 1:01:49Speaker 5: she did. So she's like, I feel like I'm gonna
- 1:01:51Speaker 5: be able to bargain with them and be like, Hi, babes,
- 1:01:55Speaker 5: so I y that I stole your mother's powers and y'all.
- 1:02:00Speaker 4: Have been coming after me since the Days of Salem
- 1:02:04Speaker 4: by Guns and.
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: No, no, I know no what I also and and
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: this is just like just about again how this series
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: plays out, Like there's so many easter eggs and so
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: many you touched upon it before all the deeper meetings
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: and stuff like that, the music, right, like and when
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: we talk about the visuals, like even at the end
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: of the episodes where and I wanted you to talk
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: a lot about that and the end credit scenes because
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: it's like it gave was it what's the last Well,
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: there are a lot of Marvel shows would do that
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: where they would show like multiple images at the end
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: and the credits of their show, and it would be
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: especially Loki, Right, it gave Loki where it was images
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: that could potentially be clues about what's going to happen
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: through this series, right, and who's gonna pop up and
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: shit like that. So I did see a lot obviously
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: pop culture references to Witches, my favorite in the show,
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: within the show and also in deeply within the show
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: and also deeply within the end credit scenes.
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: And I'm gonna let you, I'm gonna let you have it.
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: In just a second, I just wanted to say the
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: craft that scene of the craft when when the one
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: girl when she was sliding all her little.
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: Toes Nancy crazy as Nancy.
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: That is classic and I love that they referenced it,
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: and they referenced it and they even showed a piece
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: of that scene. But anyway, can you please tell me
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: because you have a lot of notes on this, So.
- 1:03:33Speaker 5: I'm gonnaet to some of the pop culture references that
- 1:03:35Speaker 5: we've seen in the show because I think that also
- 1:03:37Speaker 5: ties through and what they're referring to in the credits too,
- 1:03:42Speaker 5: because I think that's the thing is that you can't
- 1:03:46Speaker 5: watch a witchy show and not it's kind of like
- 1:03:49Speaker 5: watching a horror movie. Depending on like who is crafting it,
- 1:03:52Speaker 5: you know they're gonna be doing like a nod if
- 1:03:55Speaker 5: they're really into the genre, they're gonna do a nod
- 1:03:57Speaker 5: to something else that people really care about in the genre. Right,
- 1:04:01Speaker 5: And in this we have where we're talking about the Lilia,
- 1:04:04Speaker 5: the psycond character, she mentions how like she's annoyed by
- 1:04:10Speaker 5: the different stereotypes they give witches that like the poison apples,
- 1:04:13Speaker 5: which is from snow.
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: White, and you see it, you see a clip of
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: baisoned apple, by a second clip with the poison apple
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: snow white with the witch yip and then still children,
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: which is hocus pocuscus and that's also Disney property, so
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: some hocus Pocus and then eat babies which now I don't.
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: Know who eat babies, and then not but not acting
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: the same. They delicious Alisa, she's a fucking cat.
- 1:04:45Speaker 5: I love her, but also like who so I'm trying
- 1:04:48Speaker 5: to like and that might be just a throwaway or
- 1:04:50Speaker 5: it could be what for me? Like in the end credits,
- 1:04:54Speaker 5: those are like accusations people made of the women that
- 1:04:58Speaker 5: they did, like you know, transgression around and like they
- 1:05:01Speaker 5: did put them through the court case and they said
- 1:05:03Speaker 5: that they were guilty of doing those things.
- 1:05:06Speaker 4: And when you look at the end credits, we see
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: a lot of clips from like Cotton Mador, clips from
- 1:05:12Speaker 4: like what like the Crucible, like women in the court
- 1:05:14Speaker 4: being like pointed at by men.
- 1:05:16Speaker 5: And then like so I the Salem Trials, right, So
- 1:05:19Speaker 5: I think what that gives us? And we know, yes,
- 1:05:22Speaker 5: like we can, and then there's a woman who was
- 1:05:24Speaker 5: like at Salem and like pointing at it with a
- 1:05:26Speaker 5: witch's hat and the witch is garb.
- 1:05:27Speaker 4: Yes, I guess crimes do you begin from what we know?
- 1:05:32Speaker 4: At Salem.
- 1:05:33Speaker 5: However, I think this is also giving these clues, given
- 1:05:37Speaker 5: the way that it started off with the crime drama,
- 1:05:40Speaker 5: given the way that like different, Like she's being weighed
- 1:05:44Speaker 5: and judged throughout the story and she's waiting there all
- 1:05:48Speaker 5: weighing and judging.
- 1:05:48Speaker 4: Each other the story.
- 1:05:51Speaker 5: I think that means that we're gonna at some point
- 1:05:53Speaker 5: we're gonna get a court seen.
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: Oh yeah, things are gonna touch men.
- 1:05:58Speaker 5: Yeah, it's gonna be an actual judge and jury kind
- 1:06:01Speaker 5: of moment for all the.
- 1:06:03Speaker 4: Things are happening.
- 1:06:05Speaker 2: Do you think that's really what's at the end of
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: the Witch's road, like, or is it on some genie
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: in a bottle ship where they're like, oh, we're gonna
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: give you what you what you really want, where it's
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: like they don't really give you once you want, Like
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: you say you want power, you say you want riches.
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: Isn't that But we're gonna give it to you in
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: a different form and you ain't gonna like it, but
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: you know what I mean. But but Agava also said
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: she did go down to the witches Rode before, and
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: she came out on the end and that's why she's
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: so extra powerful and other shit so I but it's
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: also fucked up fucked.
- 1:06:33Speaker 3: With her at some point too. I don't know, Yeah,
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: I don't.
- 1:06:36Speaker 4: I'm not sure what I get the.
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: Like what did she get out of God?
- 1:06:44Speaker 5: I'm not sure what the Witch's road like, you know,
- 1:06:47Speaker 5: the end of the urches road is. I don't know,
- 1:06:51Speaker 5: but I don't know if like the court, I don't
- 1:06:54Speaker 5: know where the judgment comes in. I feel like there's
- 1:06:57Speaker 5: judgment throughout, but the final rule, right, like the actual
- 1:07:01Speaker 5: pronouncement in court kind of proceedings like that happen. And
- 1:07:04Speaker 5: I think it's also interesting because Jennifer also has a case,
- 1:07:08Speaker 5: so it's just like a couple like so it's gonna
- 1:07:11Speaker 5: go down, and I know that it's.
- 1:07:12Speaker 4: Gonna just be like one final thing.
- 1:07:16Speaker 5: It might just be like an accumulation of things that
- 1:07:19Speaker 5: we have to like watch out for that leads to
- 1:07:21Speaker 5: like this is the evidence building for the case that
- 1:07:24Speaker 5: we get at some point.
- 1:07:25Speaker 4: But I feel like that we're gonna definitely get a
- 1:07:27Speaker 4: court scene.
- 1:07:30Speaker 5: We see the there's like this thing where they like
- 1:07:36Speaker 5: circle the words hidden gates and the end credits.
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: Remove like remove your shoes when you touch the touch
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: the road. So that's the first thing they do as
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: soon as they pop out over there over there.
- 1:07:49Speaker 5: And then the hidden gate is actually the door right
- 1:07:51Speaker 5: like it's an answer. And then we see like snow
- 1:07:54Speaker 5: white hag, which like the eagle clean ish in her
- 1:07:57Speaker 5: hag form, go down the trap door and then right
- 1:08:01Speaker 5: just sitting down the track door. We also see witches
- 1:08:06Speaker 5: on surfboards.
- 1:08:07Speaker 4: We see it.
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: What the look about They're trying to say, I'm floating, nigga? Like,
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: is that like, ah, look at me, the gun floating
- 1:08:12Speaker 2: on this whole life, y'all thought y'all could drown me
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: type shit? Like is that what that is?
- 1:08:16Speaker 4: Like?
- 1:08:17Speaker 5: We see which is on like a recumbent brew like
- 1:08:20Speaker 5: it's one big broom and multiple witches on it, and
- 1:08:22Speaker 5: then in the trailers we saw them similarly doing something
- 1:08:24Speaker 5: like that across the moon, so it seems like we're
- 1:08:28Speaker 5: probably going to get something like that. And one of
- 1:08:29Speaker 5: the witches on the recumbent group has something that says
- 1:08:33Speaker 5: like German sausage in her hand.
- 1:08:35Speaker 4: I don't know what that means.
- 1:08:37Speaker 3: Okay, Okay.
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: They showed there was a lot of symbolism obviously that
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: you and you're mentioning that like throughout that I think
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: it was episode two, like bag of the thought saw
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: a crow, she saw a rat, and she saw a wolf.
- 1:08:50Speaker 4: And they're all in the credits, right.
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: And then we saw the white rabbit who that's her pet,
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: and then in the end credits also that black cat,
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: and I thought those were also just symbols of witches
- 1:09:01Speaker 2: in general too.
- 1:09:02Speaker 4: Yes, we also.
- 1:09:03Speaker 5: See like okat, Yeah, we see a cat and I
- 1:09:06Speaker 5: think it's two cats and like got clothing playing instruments. Yes, yeah,
- 1:09:11Speaker 5: we see an Asian woman on like a poster wearing
- 1:09:15Speaker 5: like a gold robe with her mouth open and something
- 1:09:18Speaker 5: coming out of her like out of her mouth or
- 1:09:21Speaker 5: like flat and we don't know the direction of that.
- 1:09:23Speaker 5: We see a woman in what looks like nineteen twenties
- 1:09:26Speaker 5: kind of like hair hair hat and stuff that her
- 1:09:30Speaker 5: it says around her. There's newspaper headlines of droughts and
- 1:09:35Speaker 5: anomaly and witchcraft sparks. Not sure who that's going to
- 1:09:40Speaker 5: be related to. And there's a Wizard of Oz illustration
- 1:09:45Speaker 5: and also Alisa Simpson illustration of her.
- 1:09:48Speaker 3: And a Lisa was yeah, Lisa halloweensa Halloween.
- 1:09:52Speaker 5: Yeah, there's a woman holding like the things in the
- 1:09:56Speaker 5: Ouji board that points her thing.
- 1:09:58Speaker 3: Oh that says like, yeah, you asked the question or whatever.
- 1:10:01Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:10:02Speaker 5: And then there's also crystals hexagons, and we've seen a
- 1:10:07Speaker 5: couple different hexagons. There's a hexagon like a postpart of
- 1:10:09Speaker 5: like West View with the hexagon over.
- 1:10:11Speaker 3: It talking about the heck's right? That was over everybody?
- 1:10:14Speaker 4: Or does it music? Like news? We don't know.
- 1:10:17Speaker 5: And then there's like a like a yah, like there's
- 1:10:20Speaker 5: like these really cute like blue I want to say,
- 1:10:24Speaker 5: like coffin like rabby soiletto shaped nails.
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: Oh yeah, some hand there were hands with beautiful nails.
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: On a Yeah.
- 1:10:33Speaker 5: And so I've been paying attention since I saw the
- 1:10:36Speaker 5: end credit scene to people's nails different episodes, and that's
- 1:10:40Speaker 5: been fun too. Oh yeah, So I think and that
- 1:10:46Speaker 5: there's tarot cards and then I think as soon as weet,
- 1:10:49Speaker 5: So the diffnation, which is the main one who is
- 1:10:51Speaker 5: going to play around with tarot cards? And in this
- 1:10:53Speaker 5: episode we first the second episode, we first meet Lilia.
- 1:10:57Speaker 4: She just mentioned the three of Fien bulls.
- 1:11:02Speaker 3: Yeah, what the hell does that mean?
- 1:11:04Speaker 4: Now?
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: Because I don't know, I don't know.
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: This is outside my roma understanding. Google is my friend,
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: But what the fuck does that mean? You said three
- 1:11:14Speaker 2: of pencacles.
- 1:11:15Speaker 4: Three of pencacles. Now I don't know.
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: The gate don't open on my laptop and I'll wait
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: a minute. Oh, the three of pentacles suggests that you
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: are pulling your experience and skills together with a larger
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: group to accomplish shared goals, which makes sense because she's pulling.
- 1:11:31Speaker 3: It's coming together to walk the road.
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: And they said that three pentacles is an encouragement that
- 1:11:36Speaker 2: you're on the right track, you're a competent of what
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: you do, and you're making progress.
- 1:11:41Speaker 5: Yes, So I'll just add that in forthcoming episodes, we're
- 1:11:46Speaker 5: going to see a tarot card per each episode, and
- 1:11:51Speaker 5: they all have the same number on them so far, three.
- 1:11:54Speaker 5: So I don't know what the end goal is with that,
- 1:11:57Speaker 5: but it's interesting to me that so far there's this
- 1:12:01Speaker 5: one tar card per episode that I've noticed, and they
- 1:12:04Speaker 5: all have threes in them.
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: Right, And I'm gonna say three is a witch a
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: witchy number, right, And it represents what you said the
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: what was the three ladies, the three women on her broach.
- 1:12:14Speaker 4: The yeah, the maiden, the maiden, maiden, the mother, the crone,
- 1:12:18Speaker 4: the maiden. But also like the bet, three has three witches,
- 1:12:22Speaker 4: so like.
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: There is just a specious number and a lot of
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: like lore and things like that. It's also very it's
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: also potentially unlucky. It's also very lucky depending on what
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: culture you're in.
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: Like, it's a lot of things.
- 1:12:32Speaker 4: Yeah, and now this final thing about the credit.
- 1:12:35Speaker 3: Christianity religion, it's all.
- 1:12:37Speaker 4: Yeah, it's act. Yeah. Once you pick it up once,
- 1:12:40Speaker 4: you'll see it everywhere. Yeah.
- 1:12:43Speaker 5: So they also have something in there about like spell
- 1:12:45Speaker 5: there's a spell finding tapestry and a lot of discussion
- 1:12:50Speaker 5: about twenty first century modern witches. So that's kind of
- 1:12:53Speaker 5: like the rounding out of what I like picked up on.
- 1:12:57Speaker 5: There's also like a headline about near death and west
- 1:12:59Speaker 5: View mhm, we know about the actual we'll see. So
- 1:13:04Speaker 5: there's a lot of things. I want to note that
- 1:13:07Speaker 5: the way that the and credits kind of rolled out
- 1:13:11Speaker 5: are kind of similar to the way that they rolled
- 1:13:15Speaker 5: out the credits for The Desperate Housewives. Their intro, like
- 1:13:20Speaker 5: it's kind of like book pages and like random like
- 1:13:23Speaker 5: images and they kind of fall into each other a
- 1:13:25Speaker 5: little bit, and Desperate house was a bit more interactive
- 1:13:27Speaker 5: from credit image to image.
- 1:13:30Speaker 4: This one not as much.
- 1:13:31Speaker 5: But I'm picking up on like whatever references that the
- 1:13:36Speaker 5: show is doing to like within other like ABC, Disney
- 1:13:41Speaker 5: Family as well as the Witch family and just what Housewives.
- 1:13:44Speaker 4: Their intro is kind of witchy.
- 1:13:46Speaker 2: I'm just gonna say that they gave Covin and like
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: when I'm now because I used to watch that show too,
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: but when I'm thinking about it, like, yeah, it was
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: very like this this group of witches, you know, women
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: or whatever.
- 1:13:57Speaker 3: Okay, Okay, I like everything you mentioned.
- 1:14:01Speaker 2: It and then like one of the other biggest things
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: and it's going to be an overriding theme throughout this series,
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: I know, is this whole ballad of the witches?
- 1:14:10Speaker 4: Right?
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: So this is the song that this new fledged coven
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: sings in order to open the gate in the first place.
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: And what you discovered, Porscha was apparently there may be
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: different versions of the song because we do hear them
- 1:14:24Speaker 2: sing what now my head just seems to be a
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: really long ass song with a lot of stanzas, but
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: it's just maybe different versions all pieced together.
- 1:14:32Speaker 3: Now, what did you discover?
- 1:14:36Speaker 4: What I found is that so I was going off
- 1:14:38Speaker 4: the basis.
- 1:14:39Speaker 5: Of like we know that they premierreed and like performed
- 1:14:43Speaker 5: the song at the ballot of the Witch's Road at
- 1:14:45Speaker 5: G twenty three, So it's like, oh, there has to
- 1:14:47Speaker 5: be like like the main version somewhere I as far
- 1:14:51Speaker 5: as I can tell, they haven't like shared out the
- 1:14:54Speaker 5: full version of it like online where.
- 1:14:56Speaker 4: You can just like read through the lyrics. Like I
- 1:14:58Speaker 4: had to like kind of it up.
- 1:15:01Speaker 5: So the main portion that you get in the trailer
- 1:15:05Speaker 5: and that I did hear from the recording of what
- 1:15:08Speaker 5: they did at the twenty three goes from marching ever
- 1:15:11Speaker 5: four down down down the road that it goes does
- 1:15:15Speaker 5: that component an episode too? The one that they did
- 1:15:20Speaker 5: to actually open the door is called if you look
- 1:15:22Speaker 5: at the close caption, it calls it the Sacred Chance
- 1:15:28Speaker 5: version of this.
- 1:15:29Speaker 3: Vallad, So different lyrics.
- 1:15:33Speaker 4: So it's like different portions. So it's like it gives
- 1:15:36Speaker 4: you seeketh Thy.
- 1:15:40Speaker 5: To get out the road to all that's found, fair
- 1:15:44Speaker 5: gathers sister spire, earth, water.
- 1:15:47Speaker 3: And air, the planet tears, of course.
- 1:15:53Speaker 5: And so that helped holds the session is like only
- 1:15:56Speaker 5: you'll get only with the Sacred Chant version, and that
- 1:15:59Speaker 5: it does in oh Ad in some of the compunitions
- 1:16:02Speaker 5: and the main version like down down, down the road,
- 1:16:04Speaker 5: and so it's.
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: Like it's right, it's all I'm jump jumbled in and
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: mixed up in okay, but but it's it's very literal
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: interpretation to what's about the what's finn to happen as
- 1:16:14Speaker 2: also it's.
- 1:16:14Speaker 5: Like the it's telling you like it's kind of a
- 1:16:19Speaker 5: spell in itself in a way that it's like you
- 1:16:21Speaker 5: want to conjure this road, you have to like do
- 1:16:24Speaker 5: the instructions.
- 1:16:25Speaker 4: Like it's like a structure spell instructures.
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: I mean as in that when most spells are like well,
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: and it reminds me like especially when and I don't
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: know why this came to my first, but when teen
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: was was reciting the Latin spell whatever that whatever, I
- 1:16:40Speaker 2: immediately went to a little mermaid and I was thinking
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: of Ursula.
- 1:16:44Speaker 3: And Ursula is a witch.
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: She's a sea witch and her if you listen, actually
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: read the words of her actual songs that she's that
- 1:16:52Speaker 2: she's singing with area when she's trickening her and all
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: the other stuff. She's singing real Latin, and like at
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: one point she's basically like, you know, I'm binding your
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: voice and I'm taking it, like that's literally what she
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: says in Latin or and you won't be able to speak.
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: So all that to say, like, these these songs are, yes,
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: what you're saying, they're the actual spell, they're the actual action,
- 1:17:15Speaker 2: and they're the means by which.
- 1:17:18Speaker 3: All this shit happens.
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: Right, So like that's that's what all these spells are anyway, Right,
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: They're just words that mean things that you say with
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: power behind it and then it comes to life.
- 1:17:27Speaker 3: So interesting, and.
- 1:17:29Speaker 5: I think that a spell is put into song is
- 1:17:33Speaker 5: a very effective way of making sure that the spell
- 1:17:35Speaker 5: gets done.
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: A's the effect the way making people listen to right,
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: because you have to also hear the spell, right, You
- 1:17:41Speaker 2: have to be like paying attention to it and take
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: it in, right, because I don't know of no which
- 1:17:47Speaker 2: that she's saying a spell? And if you not around
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: to hear, you know, if it trees in the forest
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: and no one's around to hear, it doesn't really fall
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: like which is saying a spell?
- 1:17:53Speaker 3: You know no one's around to hear it. Did did
- 1:17:55Speaker 3: it really happen?
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: I think it's one of those things like the person
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: that it's being targeted towards has to be present and
- 1:18:03Speaker 2: really there and and taking it in. So this is
- 1:18:09Speaker 2: all very interesting act of the All Along. It's just
- 1:18:13Speaker 2: a kids show.
- 1:18:14Speaker 3: No.
- 1:18:16Speaker 2: No, So if anyone was asking, because sometimes we get
- 1:18:18Speaker 2: that question, they're like, oh, it's it okay for my
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: kid to watch?
- 1:18:21Speaker 4: I don't think so I'm trying to.
- 1:18:24Speaker 5: But there's a because you know, when you're a kid,
- 1:18:26Speaker 5: you're oblivious at some of the adult jokes and you're
- 1:18:28Speaker 5: kind of like, oh, like you see the Great Us
- 1:18:30Speaker 5: laughing and you're like what, I don't know, but I
- 1:18:32Speaker 5: don't think there's anything in here.
- 1:18:33Speaker 4: It's not even that it's an adult joke.
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: No, it's just it's just not age appropriate. And when
- 1:18:38Speaker 2: I say kids, I mean like actually because like you know,
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: fifteen on down, I don't know, Like I don't know.
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: And also each child is different, so you can't potentially know,
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: but you know, teenagers might watch this whatever. It's just
- 1:18:51Speaker 2: I just would not necessarily be like yo, if you
- 1:18:54Speaker 2: was ten years old, you could, you can, you can
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: be on this Like no, it's it's giving adults, So
- 1:18:58Speaker 2: it's not.
- 1:18:58Speaker 4: Giving, like oh, like this is because I.
- 1:19:01Speaker 5: Know, like again talking about like our witch references to
- 1:19:05Speaker 5: come and like this whole like atmosphere and aesthetic.
- 1:19:08Speaker 4: We love a tocus focus. We love us charmed and
- 1:19:13Speaker 4: practical magic and all that. And although I probably was
- 1:19:16Speaker 4: too young watching those things, whenever.
- 1:19:18Speaker 2: I was just, oh, yeah, we want to be watching
- 1:19:19Speaker 2: that shit, but we was, you know, you know, we
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: was watching it and you mentioned this status. That's one
- 1:19:25Speaker 2: of the last ones I wanted to say. I just
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: love the aesthetic of all the characters. Like I'm looking
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: at a picture other than where it's more bright, so
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: I can really see what they were, and like, really
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: like with Agatha her color scheme. You have that that
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: that jade green and that purple, the classic witch colors,
- 1:19:39Speaker 2: you know, and she's wearing her brooch and the fata.
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: She so dramatic in everything she does. You know, when
- 1:19:44Speaker 2: she turns around, she flips her coat all the way.
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: You have Kale, who's dressed like a tree Huggah type stuff. Like,
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: you know, she's a supposed to be an earthy kind
- 1:19:52Speaker 2: of girl, even though she's a potions person.
- 1:19:56Speaker 4: But she's also kind of like like Christie, Princess.
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: Christie, Yeah, very present, like she what's the name of
- 1:20:02Speaker 2: the character in Harry Potter, like that that group, the
- 1:20:05Speaker 2: group of girls the girls school. She gives, she gives
- 1:20:08Speaker 2: like she won't go to the girls school. The girls
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: not which buttons wherever.
- 1:20:13Speaker 3: Them girls are?
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: You know?
- 1:20:14Speaker 4: The old school? Okay, the.
- 1:20:21Speaker 3: Yes, I love It's fine.
- 1:20:24Speaker 2: I love the aesthetic of real because she's giving fashion
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: and and modern day.
- 1:20:31Speaker 3: This is what it is we talked about.
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: We did talk about team being very hot topic, and
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: then you have.
- 1:20:38Speaker 5: Kind of like like a hot topic by the hot
- 1:20:42Speaker 5: topic byes, but like it's like the clothing gives like
- 1:20:45Speaker 5: upscale hot topic.
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: There's hot topic with the air med's bag or something.
- 1:20:50Speaker 5: Yeah, like because no, but like in a like and
- 1:20:52Speaker 5: a Jake crew ish like girls bracket, you know what
- 1:20:56Speaker 5: I'm talking about. Twitter, It's like it's it's like this,
- 1:21:00Speaker 5: it's a deconstructed sweater, but it's like a nicely made
- 1:21:03Speaker 5: deconstruct crew.
- 1:21:05Speaker 3: I'm gonna start going to great j Crew. Yeah, and
- 1:21:08Speaker 3: then Alice will like.
- 1:21:09Speaker 2: We I don't know, I was, I was getting ruffio vibes,
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: but we'll see what what goes with that.
- 1:21:15Speaker 3: And then Lilya, who's the old school one? The old
- 1:21:17Speaker 3: school just bo hoo, just out there type person.
- 1:21:22Speaker 2: So overall, I am actually very pleased with the show. Again,
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: once I got past I think it's like I don't
- 1:21:30Speaker 2: even know if it's a whole ten minutes. But once
- 1:21:31Speaker 2: I got past, to me the boring part of the
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: true crime stuff. Once it they cut out and it's like,
- 1:21:37Speaker 2: all right, all this stupid shit is over. Here's a
- 1:21:39Speaker 2: real story. That's when I was like, Okay, we got
- 1:21:42Speaker 2: some here. It is fun, it is fresh. I would
- 1:21:46Speaker 2: recommend people watching it. It does grab you in the
- 1:21:49Speaker 2: first episode, which is great because that would have been
- 1:21:52Speaker 2: their downfall. If they did not grab you right away,
- 1:21:55Speaker 2: this may not have went anywhere, and that's usually the
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: downfall of a lot of new shows. It takes three
- 1:22:00Speaker 2: episodes for you to get into it, and a lot
- 1:22:02Speaker 2: of people do not have the patience. But I will say,
- 1:22:05Speaker 2: even if you're not like the biggest fan of even
- 1:22:08Speaker 2: or even cared about Wanda Vision or any of this stuff,
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: I still think you will find interest in this because
- 1:22:14Speaker 2: it is still a compelling enough approach. And that's my
- 1:22:18Speaker 2: general take on in why I think people should watch it.
- 1:22:21Speaker 5: Yeah, as a speak teasing kind of girl, and I
- 1:22:24Speaker 5: say spooky season in that, like, as soon as the
- 1:22:27Speaker 5: end of August was drowling near, I was like, it's time,
- 1:22:31Speaker 5: Like everyone is like, yo.
- 1:22:34Speaker 3: So bad let summer die first, damn.
- 1:22:38Speaker 4: And it's dying and I and I get glee from it.
- 1:22:40Speaker 4: I'm like, oh, it's dying. It's great.
- 1:22:44Speaker 3: I hate it. I love I love summer. So y,
- 1:22:47Speaker 3: y'all are really making me upset.
- 1:22:49Speaker 4: I'm not a.
- 1:22:50Speaker 5: Summer so let's say I'm Southern, so I have an
- 1:22:55Speaker 5: intense just sweat disdain for sweats.
- 1:23:00Speaker 4: In the outside when it's really hot. So summer and
- 1:23:02Speaker 4: I have not gone.
- 1:23:03Speaker 5: Along in a while, like yeah, so as soon as
- 1:23:09Speaker 5: I have, like I can just feel in my bones
- 1:23:11Speaker 5: like it's it's in, Like summer's ending, and here comes
- 1:23:15Speaker 5: the fall, and the knights get dimmer and darker, and
- 1:23:17Speaker 5: it's time to turn on some candles and turn.
- 1:23:19Speaker 3: On the like lamps.
- 1:23:20Speaker 5: Oh God, bring out the apple cider and has some
- 1:23:23Speaker 5: hot cocoa already?
- 1:23:25Speaker 3: Please? No, no, no, no, I hate it.
- 1:23:29Speaker 5: I love it so much, and that I was just
- 1:23:33Speaker 5: hoping that this show would eat that up, that it
- 1:23:37Speaker 5: would just give us like the darkness and the mayhem
- 1:23:40Speaker 5: and the mystery and the cosmos and the like looking
- 1:23:45Speaker 5: in the back of like there's it's a leaf, I swear,
- 1:23:47Speaker 5: but is it kind of like.
- 1:23:48Speaker 3: The of your eye kind of thing would you recommend,
- 1:23:51Speaker 3: And I recommend.
- 1:23:52Speaker 5: For that if you're one of those kind of people,
- 1:23:53Speaker 5: if you're if you're one of me's, and like the
- 1:23:56Speaker 5: darkness and the summertime cannot quickly enough. I feel like
- 1:23:59Speaker 5: this is the kind of show like they really did
- 1:24:02Speaker 5: live up to giving us what we needed with that.
- 1:24:05Speaker 5: And I think Catherine Hahn can't sit up a little
- 1:24:09Speaker 5: bit when it comes to like actually like giving you
- 1:24:12Speaker 5: a witch cackle here.
- 1:24:13Speaker 3: And there, and which she does, and she.
- 1:24:17Speaker 5: Really just like she sits in this role in a
- 1:24:20Speaker 5: way that like we got the glimpses of her in WandaVision,
- 1:24:24Speaker 5: she lives up to it. She doesn't just discontinue it,
- 1:24:26Speaker 5: and she just kind of like like it's just her element.
- 1:24:30Speaker 5: It feels like I feel like Ivy Plausa has always
- 1:24:35Speaker 5: given like she wants to play a witch, and they
- 1:24:37Speaker 5: finally give her the opportunity with this, and she's having
- 1:24:39Speaker 5: a fun, grandle.
- 1:24:41Speaker 4: Time with it and the other women.
- 1:24:45Speaker 5: I know she'll share more from her podcast than I
- 1:24:48Speaker 5: do from like SML or whatever, and so it was
- 1:24:52Speaker 5: just I enjoyed seeing her like on camera doing something.
- 1:24:56Speaker 3: Yeah. I just like seeing her on this show as
- 1:24:59Speaker 3: part of it.
- 1:24:59Speaker 4: Yeah, And I just kind of like, I like, I'm
- 1:25:01Speaker 4: buying what you're selling. I'm buying what all of them
- 1:25:03Speaker 4: are selling, and I am enjoying. Like I'm like, I
- 1:25:06Speaker 4: want to know more. I'm intrigued. I want to That's
- 1:25:08Speaker 4: what I want.
- 1:25:09Speaker 5: I want if you're a good Witch story, if a
- 1:25:12Speaker 5: good story in general, you're gonna intrigue me. But if
- 1:25:14Speaker 5: you're a good Witch story, and I've seen many of
- 1:25:17Speaker 5: which in my life, You're going to drag me in
- 1:25:19Speaker 5: after all the other things I've seen and be like,
- 1:25:21Speaker 5: this is the story you want to watch. And I
- 1:25:23Speaker 5: feel like this is a Witch story that I'm happy
- 1:25:25Speaker 5: to add to the canon. I feel like I've not
- 1:25:28Speaker 5: seen a lot of recent Witch stories that I really
- 1:25:32Speaker 5: can say that about, so I'm really happy to say
- 1:25:34Speaker 5: that about this one.
- 1:25:35Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:25:36Speaker 2: And and as mentioned, this was this was a review
- 1:25:39Speaker 2: of episodes one and two.
- 1:25:41Speaker 3: This season is nine episodes long.
- 1:25:43Speaker 2: It's going to release every Wednesday from here on through
- 1:25:46Speaker 2: Halloween or the day before Halloween, right the thirtieth of October,
- 1:25:50Speaker 2: and that is when they're going to release whether they
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: are going to release the final two episodes, which is interesting.
- 1:25:57Speaker 2: I've never seen a two and two situation like that,
- 1:26:00Speaker 2: So we'll see how that goes.
- 1:26:01Speaker 3: And as I said, we're giving a high praise right now.
- 1:26:03Speaker 3: I hope it.
- 1:26:04Speaker 2: Continues this way and I hope it's consistent and then
- 1:26:07Speaker 2: also sticks the landing because Wama Vision had the situation
- 1:26:10Speaker 2: where it didn't stick the landing, So I'm.
- 1:26:12Speaker 3: Just hoping that it doesn't follow.
- 1:26:15Speaker 5: I think I think that's also like to won Division's credit.
- 1:26:18Speaker 5: And again we talked about this earlier. I think it
- 1:26:22Speaker 5: depends on how much Marvel's trying to Marvel.
- 1:26:24Speaker 3: How much are you.
- 1:26:25Speaker 5: Trying to set us up for the next thing with
- 1:26:27Speaker 5: this thing, and if you're going to try to take
- 1:26:30Speaker 5: the final two episodes and to lead us into something else,
- 1:26:33Speaker 5: which I forrant, granted, I would like to know more about,
- 1:26:37Speaker 5: like where we're going to see these people again. You
- 1:26:40Speaker 5: got to do it in a way where you're helping
- 1:26:43Speaker 5: me see a continuation of something and not necessarily like
- 1:26:48Speaker 5: shoehorning of something.
- 1:26:49Speaker 3: Yes, okay, I appreciate that.
- 1:26:53Speaker 2: Well, y'all, this has been our review of episodes one
