- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Hello everyone, Welcome to the famous podcast, the almost Samest podcast.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Episode that is gonna break down the first episode of
- 0:13Speaker 2: Charity season. Ben, let's start it off, let's dig into it.
- 0:18Speaker 2: What was your takeaway, first impression, and then I'll give
- 0:21Speaker 2: you mine.
- 0:22Speaker 3: My takeaway was this, it feels like Charity is gonna
- 0:28Speaker 3: let us know how she feels what she's feeling through
- 0:33Speaker 3: the whole season, which is so exciting because I think
- 0:36Speaker 3: we're gonna have a communicative, passionate, and emotional experience because
- 0:43Speaker 3: the lead is allowing us in like she doesn't. My
- 0:47Speaker 3: first impression is she doesn't have the typical lead nerves.
- 0:52Speaker 3: I think she has nerves, but she doesn't have the
- 0:54Speaker 3: lead like hesitation to open up on night one like
- 0:58Speaker 3: some leads do, like myself. And I think that's gonna
- 1:01Speaker 3: make a great season because that's only going to get
- 1:03Speaker 3: more comfortable for her, and she's only going to allow
- 1:06Speaker 3: us in more and I think we're gonna like feel
- 1:08Speaker 3: this season.
- 1:09Speaker 2: I concur My takeaway is I actually was more in
- 1:14Speaker 2: tune with this episode than I am with most first episodes,
- 1:17Speaker 2: maybe because it wasn't as formulaic because they had the
- 1:21Speaker 2: twist of the brother being there, which was actually really fun. Yes,
- 1:24Speaker 2: I'm a little disappointed at the fact that the brother
- 1:27Speaker 2: revealed himself so early. I thought he could stick around
- 1:29Speaker 2: for a few weeks in different costumes, or just be
- 1:33Speaker 2: the bartender at the mansion all the time and just
- 1:37Speaker 2: keep feeding her info. We'll talk about him a little
- 1:40Speaker 2: bit more in depth later. But the other thing that
- 1:42Speaker 2: I did realize as far as Charity's personality is she's
- 1:45Speaker 2: undeniably likable. I kind of forgot how much I liked
- 1:48Speaker 2: her after Zach's season because there was so much drama
- 1:51Speaker 2: that happened after her departure. And I also sense like
- 1:55Speaker 2: no ego from her, which I think is a little
- 1:58Speaker 2: bit different than a lot of leads. I feel like
- 2:00Speaker 2: a lot of leads are just kind of like they
- 2:02Speaker 2: may feel like a little sense of entitlement, like you're
- 2:06Speaker 2: all here for me, but you and I just feel
- 2:09Speaker 2: like she's just super humble.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Yeah, I would agree, and watching even the re like
- 2:14Speaker 3: the previews for the rest of the season, I think
- 2:16Speaker 3: you're getting that it all. I mean, I think you're
- 2:18Speaker 3: saying almost exactly what I was saying too, where her
- 2:21Speaker 3: humility is allowing us to relate in a lot of ways.
- 2:26Speaker 3: And since we're relating, we're feeling it, and since we're
- 2:30Speaker 3: feeling it, we're involved in it. And I think that's
- 2:34Speaker 3: a big deal for a lead. Maybe something we've never
- 2:37Speaker 3: said or thought of, But a lead, as we've said
- 2:42Speaker 3: many times before, isn't a good lead because necessarily they're
- 2:46Speaker 3: likable because the show can make them likable. It's how
- 2:48Speaker 3: they respond to difficult situations, and how they respond to
- 2:53Speaker 3: really exciting situations, like how they let us in. And
- 2:57Speaker 3: I think Charity will have all of it. She's like
- 3:00Speaker 3: because she's humble, and because of that, we're going to
- 3:03Speaker 3: be able to be involved in her season, which is.
- 3:06Speaker 4: All we really want.
- 3:08Speaker 2: I mean.
- 3:08Speaker 3: Jesse starts the episode out by saying her love story
- 3:11Speaker 3: is going to be one.
- 3:12Speaker 2: For the ages, but he doesn't know at that point,
- 3:14Speaker 2: does he? Does he say it in the voiceover or
- 3:17Speaker 2: the beginning.
- 3:19Speaker 3: I have a feeling that segment would like when he's
- 3:22Speaker 3: standing at the mansion that's taped afterwards.
- 3:25Speaker 2: No, because the awning's still up, which I liked the awning.
- 3:29Speaker 2: They had the awning up for Rain and I was
- 3:31Speaker 2: like I like this, I give me like a warm vibe.
- 3:33Speaker 4: It's Romanticum, that's a good point. Then he doesn't know it.
- 3:38Speaker 4: He doesn't know it.
- 3:39Speaker 3: But I will say I don't typically believe, no matter
- 3:42Speaker 3: who the host is, that opening line like this is
- 3:45Speaker 3: the most dramatic season ever, this is going to be
- 3:47Speaker 3: the one for the ages whatever. I don't typically believe
- 3:50Speaker 3: it because I know they're telling us that to get
- 3:53Speaker 3: us involved. But I think charity story what we find
- 3:56Speaker 3: out more with her being the lead and we heard
- 3:59Speaker 3: a little bit about on Zach season is you know
- 4:03Speaker 3: she's went through pain and pain that most of us
- 4:07Speaker 3: when we enter into you know, the adult dating pool,
- 4:10Speaker 3: have felt before. Like it's not uncommon if you are
- 4:14Speaker 3: somebody who is dating or who has dated, to have
- 4:17Speaker 3: a story of being hurt, of maybe being cheated on,
- 4:21Speaker 3: of having some sort of pain involved in how the
- 4:25Speaker 3: other person treated you. And so I hear Charity's story
- 4:29Speaker 3: and I say, I get it. I understand why she's
- 4:33Speaker 3: so like so desiring a good partner, and I hope
- 4:36Speaker 3: she finds it. I'm rooting for Charity, which Ashley. To
- 4:39Speaker 3: be honest with you, I don't start every first episode
- 4:43Speaker 3: of every season rooting for the lead. I don't want
- 4:46Speaker 3: to see them paint her. I don't want to see
- 4:47Speaker 3: them fall down. I don't want to see this ruin
- 4:50Speaker 3: their life.
- 4:51Speaker 2: You just don't care.
- 4:52Speaker 3: I'm apathetic. I sometimes just don't care. And it's like, Okay,
- 4:56Speaker 3: I want to see the cast. I want to see
- 4:57Speaker 3: if they're exciting. I want to see what their stories
- 4:59Speaker 3: are season. I feel like I'm on Charity's team and
- 5:04Speaker 3: the cast better catch up.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Okay, well, that's great. I love that you feel that.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Let's talk about the cast. I like the way that
- 5:11Speaker 2: these entrances. There was no really over the top silly entrances.
- 5:15Speaker 2: They were all kind of cute, Like when I'm thinking
- 5:17Speaker 2: about it, I liked the fact that the one guy
- 5:19Speaker 2: revealed to tequila shots. He was like, let's see if
- 5:22Speaker 2: you're up to date with your shots. That was cute.
- 5:25Speaker 2: And then the check that said check for Charity giving
- 5:29Speaker 2: my heart.
- 5:30Speaker 4: That's good.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Do you think can you think of any others?
- 5:34Speaker 4: I can think it's really awkward ones.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Okay, but like again, there were no like big show entrance, no.
- 5:39Speaker 4: Big show, no big show. Yeah. It was they were
- 5:42Speaker 4: they were genuine, they were thoughtful. Uh.
- 5:47Speaker 3: The entrances never stand out to me as much in
- 5:52Speaker 3: any season, and I kind of just tune them out
- 5:54Speaker 3: and I just see who the person is, and like,
- 5:57Speaker 3: I like to honestly judge them right away.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Well we know that you're gonna judging the cast right away.
- 6:03Speaker 3: Yeah, so I like to see their first like reaction
- 6:06Speaker 3: and be like, okay, I think, and in my phone
- 6:09Speaker 3: where I keep the notes for the season, I say, Okay,
- 6:12Speaker 3: this is this guy. I think he's gonna be really awkward, Like, Okay,
- 6:14Speaker 3: here's this guy. His ego is massive. Oh, here's this guy.
- 6:18Speaker 3: He's the one liner charmer who will end up hurting charity.
- 6:21Speaker 3: Like I have all those things written down just to
- 6:25Speaker 3: see if I'm right. Later on, I will say I
- 6:28Speaker 3: don't know why one of the one two of them
- 6:29Speaker 3: sit out to me.
- 6:30Speaker 4: One the guy that did the backflip.
- 6:31Speaker 3: Always impressive, Oh my gosh, always impressive, right, always impressive.
- 6:37Speaker 3: Never been able to jump six inches off the ground,
- 6:39Speaker 3: So that's a big deal to me. The second is
- 6:43Speaker 3: the professional diver. I just I love scuba diving, and
- 6:47Speaker 3: so I was really intrigued by that, and I think,
- 6:49Speaker 3: what you do he's a professional diver, Like he's.
- 6:52Speaker 2: Yeah, but what did he do as is like his
- 6:54Speaker 2: entrance thing, he had.
- 6:55Speaker 3: A helmet, like he wore a helmet in he had
- 6:59Speaker 3: it with it was like a cool kind of I
- 7:02Speaker 3: would say old school diving, but that might be what
- 7:04Speaker 3: they still use to do deep diving. I don't know,
- 7:07Speaker 3: but he had a helmet so that and I feel
- 7:09Speaker 3: like I would be intimidated by that guy. You're like,
- 7:11Speaker 3: if if somebody walked in and they're like, yeah, I'm
- 7:14Speaker 3: I'm a professional diver, like I dive for a living.
- 7:17Speaker 3: I dive hundreds feet below the ocean and fix things
- 7:20Speaker 3: or whatever it is, I'd be like you are that
- 7:23Speaker 3: you aren't scared to bungee jump, and if and I'm
- 7:26Speaker 3: scared to bunge like you have no fear. I have
- 7:28Speaker 3: a lot of fears. You're gonna show me up. I'm
- 7:30Speaker 3: gonna be the one crying going on a date so scared,
- 7:33Speaker 3: and you're gonna be like, this is gonna be awesome.
- 7:35Speaker 3: Those people intimidate.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Me when I think about the guy's entrances besides the
- 7:40Speaker 2: two that I just mentioned. Yeah, Like I gotta talk
- 7:42Speaker 2: about the flip again because the flip, Like I think
- 7:46Speaker 2: about the physics and like, how strong you have to
- 7:49Speaker 2: be to limp yourself up like that.
- 7:53Speaker 4: It doesn't make sense to me.
- 7:54Speaker 2: On cement, it does not even anything relatively bouncing, and
- 7:58Speaker 2: like in a suit, right, he was wearing a suit.
- 8:01Speaker 3: Something dress. Up close, he was like, dressed up enough.
- 8:06Speaker 3: I mean, you got to think about the physics of
- 8:08Speaker 3: a flip. And I'm sure people listening are like, it's
- 8:10Speaker 3: not that hard to do it on trampline, Okay, cool,
- 8:12Speaker 3: but you're not doing it on the ground. At some point,
- 8:15Speaker 3: your head is passing like your neck is passing concrete
- 8:19Speaker 3: and you're going completely exactly over again back on your feet. Ashley,
- 8:26Speaker 3: I just I just did plots this morning. I do
- 8:30Speaker 3: like a heated weightlifting class every morning, okay. And there's
- 8:34Speaker 3: a couple moves in there. We have to stand on
- 8:36Speaker 3: one leg, you have to stand on one leg and
- 8:38Speaker 3: like lift an arm up and all this.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Hard enough, right, yeah, I can do it, I know,
- 8:43Speaker 2: always swaying during that move. Charity was just as impressed.
- 8:47Speaker 2: She basically just wants to watch this guy flip And
- 8:50Speaker 2: I'm sure all the guys in the house are going
- 8:52Speaker 2: to be really tired of watching it. But I probably
- 8:54Speaker 2: could be entertaining each time.
- 8:56Speaker 4: Keep them around for the flipping.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Uh so those are the big and says Ashley, we're
- 9:01Speaker 3: far enough into the episode now that we got I
- 9:03Speaker 3: got to ask you first time we've really seen it
- 9:06Speaker 3: in a while. It is the twentiet season of The Bachelorette.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Very exciting for the show to be around twenty seasons.
- 9:13Speaker 3: What did you think about the cameos from the past bachelorettes.
- 9:16Speaker 2: I think they chose a couple of good ones to
- 9:19Speaker 2: do it. I liked it. They were all different. It
- 9:21Speaker 2: wasn't just like, hey, it's me checking in. They all
- 9:23Speaker 2: had kind of different advice okay, and they were all
- 9:25Speaker 2: at different stages of life now because of the show,
- 9:28Speaker 2: so I enjoyed that. I also enjoyed the format where
- 9:32Speaker 2: they put the package, you know, the intro profile package,
- 9:36Speaker 2: right before the guy like he like came out of
- 9:39Speaker 2: the limo. Then we saw the package and then we
- 9:41Speaker 2: saw him meet Charity. It was nice with them seeing
- 9:44Speaker 2: all of them in a row up front and then
- 9:47Speaker 2: seeing them come out in the limo later. Do you agree, Yeah?
- 9:50Speaker 4: I would. I agree with that.
- 9:52Speaker 2: I can't believe it's been so long since they've changed
- 9:54Speaker 2: that up. But I think it really helped kind of
- 9:58Speaker 2: tell us who to narrow and on. Yeah, I agree,
- 10:02Speaker 2: all right, Well, any.
- 10:04Speaker 4: Guys the awkward ones? Yeah?
- 10:06Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Sorry, sorry, I was going to say, let's
- 10:08Speaker 2: go into the ones that she was really into. Go ahead, No,
- 10:10Speaker 2: let's do awkward ones.
- 10:12Speaker 4: Maybe it's just me, but Spencer was nervous and terrified.
- 10:16Speaker 2: If just Youk'm pretty sure everybody knows that. And do
- 10:20Speaker 2: you like the way that they dropped the music out?
- 10:23Speaker 2: Normally they go straight for the They just were like,
- 10:28Speaker 2: you want to see how awkward this is?
- 10:30Speaker 3: So it was awkward, right, Because sometimes I don't have
- 10:33Speaker 3: a great read on awkwardness because I'm fairly awkward myself.
- 10:37Speaker 4: Ie, I could not.
- 10:38Speaker 2: You're just I don't think you've ever been awkward in
- 10:40Speaker 2: your life.
- 10:40Speaker 4: Oh no, I guarantee it.
- 10:42Speaker 3: But he felt terrified, but his him like he never
- 10:47Speaker 3: felt I don't want to say normal. It just always
- 10:50Speaker 3: felt like there was like some oddity man.
- 10:54Speaker 2: He's a weird dude, but he's entertaining and he's not
- 10:57Speaker 2: like villainously weird. He's just nice awkward, fun for us
- 11:00Speaker 2: to watch, but probably horrible for Charity to have to
- 11:02Speaker 2: interact with.
- 11:03Speaker 3: I mean, he's very sweet. Uh, he is a father,
- 11:06Speaker 3: you know, he announced that to Charity.
- 11:08Speaker 4: But his there there was.
- 11:10Speaker 3: Just something about his communication style that was hard for
- 11:15Speaker 3: me to tune into. Like it was hard for me
- 11:17Speaker 3: to watch it because I get you know, I do.
- 11:19Speaker 3: I get very awkward when I watch awkward things on television.
- 11:23Speaker 3: And I don't watch the kissing because the kissing feels
- 11:26Speaker 3: weird to me. But his every time he talked, it
- 11:30Speaker 3: was like I couldn't turn away because it was so weird.
- 11:35Speaker 4: Like dot we and I don't want to. I don't.
- 11:36Speaker 3: I don't want him to feel like he's a weirdo.
- 11:39Speaker 3: I'm just saying it felt awkward, like it felt uncomfortable.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Yeah, of course you everybody is like, yes, bad, we
- 11:45Speaker 2: know it was awkward.
- 11:48Speaker 4: Yeah, I just I didn't know.
- 11:49Speaker 3: And and so my question to you is, do you
- 11:51Speaker 3: think that was because he was so terrified and so
- 11:53Speaker 3: nervous and that he'll uh loosen up and and and
- 11:57Speaker 3: kind of like shine bright as the season goes on,
- 12:00Speaker 3: or do you think this is something that will stick?
- 12:03Speaker 2: No? No, no, he's just an awkward dude.
- 12:05Speaker 3: Okay, So but he's around and so he's around for right,
- 12:08Speaker 3: He's around for right now. He's in some of the
- 12:11Speaker 3: previews that feel like later on the season.
- 12:14Speaker 2: Really, I didn't pick him up on the previews. I
- 12:19Speaker 2: picked up on Joey a lot in those previews. I
- 12:22Speaker 2: picked up on Brandon. I picked up on Aaron Aaron B.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Aaron B. I'm looking at the cast list right now, sorry, guys, Yes,
- 12:33Speaker 2: Aaron B. And then you know who really struck a
- 12:36Speaker 2: chord with me that we we see in scenes for
- 12:39Speaker 2: the season, but did not make much of an impression
- 12:43Speaker 2: on Night one, Doton One from Nigeria.
- 12:47Speaker 4: Yeah, he's the cool guy to all real sweet. Yes, Yeah, I.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Loved him, and I was disappointed that she didn't get
- 12:56Speaker 2: to talk to him, But I think it was probably
- 12:57Speaker 2: one of these situations where she's like, your first impression
- 12:59Speaker 2: was so great, Like I don't need to talk to
- 13:00Speaker 2: you to give you a rose.
- 13:01Speaker 4: Yeah that's good. Well.
- 13:03Speaker 3: The other one I thought was going to be more
- 13:04Speaker 3: awkward was the professional wrestler.
- 13:06Speaker 4: He wasn't. He was.
- 13:08Speaker 3: This is pretty cool, pretty cool, pretty chill, pretty laid back.
- 13:12Speaker 3: That was surprising to me. Here's my hot take, and
- 13:17Speaker 3: it could have been influenced and we'll get into the
- 13:20Speaker 3: preview for the rest of the season later on could
- 13:22Speaker 3: have been influenced by that. I have a hot take
- 13:26Speaker 3: that Joey was actually hard for me to watch.
- 13:29Speaker 2: Really, yeah, it's hard for you to watch.
- 13:31Speaker 4: Yeah, I felt some awkwardness there. I don't know.
- 13:34Speaker 3: I mean, like again, I think it might be influenced
- 13:36Speaker 3: by the preview for the rest season.
- 13:38Speaker 4: I'll explain that because.
- 13:39Speaker 2: His tongue is Yes.
- 13:42Speaker 4: He straight up licked her face.
- 13:44Speaker 2: I know he licked her tongue. Okay, so let's slow
- 13:48Speaker 2: down here her mouth Okay, So now I can't look
- 13:50Speaker 2: at Joey the same I liked him. All I was
- 13:52Speaker 2: worried about was that he was insecure, that he was
- 13:55Speaker 2: shortened than all the guys. And I was like, oh,
- 13:57Speaker 2: I know how that is, because Jared felt so secure
- 14:00Speaker 2: with you guys, because your season was so tall, like
- 14:03Speaker 2: your season was six three and your six four, uh,
- 14:07Speaker 2: ben Z was six y four, like everybody was towering
- 14:09Speaker 2: over six foot Jared, like Jared is tall to regular society,
- 14:13Speaker 2: but always felt insecure. And I'm like, ah, Joey's feeling it.
- 14:17Speaker 3: Yeah, So in the previews, so to kind of recap
- 14:20Speaker 3: right now, Joey is Joey is the short guy. He
- 14:26Speaker 3: isn'tsecure about being short. He mentions that in the preview
- 14:29Speaker 3: for the rest of this season, there is a scene
- 14:30Speaker 3: It's Quick that Joey in a makeout scene with Charity
- 14:35Speaker 3: is face to face and he straight up has his
- 14:38Speaker 3: tongue out and it looks like he lolly popped her,
- 14:41Speaker 3: like he licked from below lower lip to upper lip
- 14:47Speaker 3: back then into her mouth, like the tongue is the
- 14:49Speaker 3: tongue is out and it's a thick tongue, like it's
- 14:51Speaker 3: a it's a beefy tongue. And so Ashley, question for
- 14:57Speaker 3: you and the listeners, now that we got to this
- 14:59Speaker 3: point in time, is that hot?
- 15:02Speaker 2: No?
- 15:04Speaker 4: Are you sure? Yes? Hannah in for this please our producer?
- 15:08Speaker 2: Hannah okay, because I am just like not really like
- 15:11Speaker 2: a French kiss lover. Like I get that there's a
- 15:16Speaker 2: time and place for sure, but in a moment like
- 15:21Speaker 2: that and one in public, I think it's really like
- 15:24Speaker 2: to me, it's like strictly a bedroom thing because like
- 15:27Speaker 2: if I'm just making out, then I'm like, oh, I
- 15:29Speaker 2: like I'll of the lip. I understand that, like when
- 15:31Speaker 2: it's getting a little bit of steamier, you can use
- 15:33Speaker 2: a little tongue, not just let things go like that
- 15:37Speaker 2: because it was a straight up lick. It wasn't like
- 15:40Speaker 2: it wasn't even like in a there was a lip action.
- 15:43Speaker 4: Sorry, Hannah.
- 15:45Speaker 5: I was gonna say, there's a time and place and
- 15:47Speaker 5: that was not in place.
- 15:49Speaker 4: Okay, So Hannah, it is not.
- 15:51Speaker 3: I was going to make a comment on this, and
- 15:54Speaker 3: I knew that I was gonna get to two women
- 15:57Speaker 3: on the podcast with me, and I was gonna like,
- 16:00Speaker 3: is this a hot thing to like?
- 16:04Speaker 4: Is in?
- 16:06Speaker 3: Honey, you're still in the dating pool? So are you
- 16:08Speaker 3: going back or any of your friends that you know
- 16:10Speaker 3: going back and being like, Okay, last night I met
- 16:13Speaker 3: this guy and he did this thing where he licked
- 16:17Speaker 3: my both my lips, Like is that a Is that hot?
- 16:20Speaker 4: Hannah? Now? In this in this dating world?
- 16:23Speaker 5: Like not if you're just making out at a bar
- 16:26Speaker 5: or like maybe room. But I feel like if any
- 16:32Speaker 5: of my friends or I was at a bar or
- 16:35Speaker 5: in a public setting and someone did that to me,
- 16:37Speaker 5: I'd be really creeped out.
- 16:39Speaker 4: I'd like that I felt creeped out.
- 16:42Speaker 2: No, I just want to give him benefit of the
- 16:44Speaker 2: doubt here. Of course they're going to put that moment
- 16:47Speaker 2: in because it's going to get us talking. I remember
- 16:50Speaker 2: my teas the scenes from chrys Soles' season. There was
- 16:55Speaker 2: one really sloppy looking kiss on my behalf and I
- 16:58Speaker 2: was petrified to see it air like actually, and I
- 17:03Speaker 2: spent days just being like, oh my god, is that
- 17:06Speaker 2: what I look like? Is that is that how I kiss?
- 17:08Speaker 2: It's bad? You know, like it's not like. Let's just
- 17:12Speaker 2: say that he had one moment and it may not
- 17:15Speaker 2: be his constant. Now, if this is, I think we're
- 17:17Speaker 2: gonna see him kis Charity a number of times? Sure,
- 17:20Speaker 2: If this is how he kisses there every time, then
- 17:22Speaker 2: then we're allowed to talk.
- 17:23Speaker 4: It's gonna get hard. It's gonna get hard to watch.
- 17:36Speaker 3: We've kind of gone through some of the standout performances
- 17:38Speaker 3: when it comes to limo entrances. We do have a
- 17:40Speaker 3: limo entrance uh with Charity's brother Niah Mayah.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Uh.
- 17:45Speaker 3: He steps out. It's a great tease. My heart was racing.
- 17:49Speaker 3: I didn't know who it was gonna be. I don't
- 17:50Speaker 3: know anybody in Charity.
- 17:52Speaker 2: Didn't they give us this tease. Didn't we know her
- 17:55Speaker 2: brother's making cameo. I'm forgetting where we found this out
- 17:58Speaker 2: wasn't it on like after the final rose or something
- 18:00Speaker 2: like that.
- 18:02Speaker 4: I don't know. I don't remember that got.
- 18:04Speaker 2: The preview that her brother was already in.
- 18:06Speaker 3: Well, either way is a flash. Either way, it worked,
- 18:11Speaker 3: Neamiah shows up. They have a great relationship. You can
- 18:14Speaker 3: tell that they both care about each other a lot,
- 18:17Speaker 3: they both trust each other a lot. You can tell
- 18:19Speaker 3: also that he's kind of like, I don't want to say,
- 18:22Speaker 3: the cool brother. But she didn't feel uncomfortable with him
- 18:25Speaker 3: being there. I mean, she didn't know he was there
- 18:28Speaker 3: the whole time, but I think if they would have
- 18:30Speaker 3: told her, hey, your brother's going to stick around for
- 18:32Speaker 3: this evening, she'd been like, that's perfect, Like I trust him,
- 18:35Speaker 3: I like him. He's not going to like freak out
- 18:38Speaker 3: on a dude for saying that he kissed me and
- 18:40Speaker 3: licked my face like he's he might not like it.
- 18:42Speaker 3: I don't think he's like sitting out there and me
- 18:44Speaker 3: like this is the best thing I've ever heard, and
- 18:45Speaker 3: it doesn't make me a little angry. But he's cool.
- 18:48Speaker 3: Like they have a good relationship. They're they're great siblings.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Yeah, they're super comfortable together. They when they're talking to
- 18:55Speaker 2: each other on the couch later in the episode, it
- 18:57Speaker 2: doesn't feel like there's that all camera.
- 18:59Speaker 3: No, they're great, and so he stays around and is
- 19:02Speaker 3: the bartender. He dresses up in a great disguise. I
- 19:04Speaker 3: know he said that the disguise is goofy Steve Harvey, but
- 19:08Speaker 3: it's it's a great disguise.
- 19:10Speaker 4: I mean I wouldn't have recognized him. Only a few.
- 19:14Speaker 2: Guys did weird the way that those guys did. Like,
- 19:16Speaker 2: did those guys watch the episode with Charity's Brotherler, like
- 19:19Speaker 2: the day before they started filming, Because there's no way,
- 19:23Speaker 2: at least for me, three months removed from watching that episode,
- 19:26Speaker 2: I'm gonna remember that guy well enough, you know, to
- 19:30Speaker 2: like spot him at a bar.
- 19:31Speaker 3: To their benefit, Ashley, I think they've known Charity was
- 19:35Speaker 3: going to be the bachelorette. I mean this, remember they
- 19:39Speaker 3: were announced and filming started pretty quickly right after this,
- 19:42Speaker 3: Like this is not that long after the final rows.
- 19:45Speaker 4: And they were doing their research.
- 19:47Speaker 3: I mean, you do you look into their life, their family,
- 19:50Speaker 3: you figure out like what questions are, like you do it.
- 19:52Speaker 4: It's not I remember a few.
- 19:54Speaker 3: Seasons agoing that one guy like made a playbook that
- 19:57Speaker 3: was weird, that was a little overkill, But for the
- 20:01Speaker 3: most part, you do do your research. You understand who
- 20:06Speaker 3: you're going today, and so it's not shocking that they
- 20:08Speaker 3: maybe recognized him. But it was a good disguise. It
- 20:10Speaker 3: was a great setup. I think when I was watching this,
- 20:15Speaker 3: I love it. In fact, I wanted to start a
- 20:17Speaker 3: dating show years ago that I actually wrote out. I
- 20:20Speaker 3: have a whole thing for it where siblings or parents
- 20:23Speaker 3: or best friends set up their friend on a blind date,
- 20:27Speaker 3: and the parents and siblings and best friends sit behind
- 20:30Speaker 3: the scenes and watch this date go down, and they
- 20:33Speaker 3: help kind of like you know, scar it, yeah, and
- 20:37Speaker 3: steer the conversation. So I love this idea of having
- 20:42Speaker 3: the brother there. I don't think every fan's gonna love it.
- 20:45Speaker 3: I think that some fans might find it like cheesy.
- 20:50Speaker 3: Maybe I would just say it's hard to get everybody.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Like.
- 20:53Speaker 3: The Bachelor's tried a lot of new things in the
- 20:55Speaker 3: last few years. Some of the things we've loved and
- 20:58Speaker 3: people have hated. Some of the things we've hated people
- 21:00Speaker 3: of love. I think this will be one of the
- 21:02Speaker 3: most likable kind of things they've tried to do to
- 21:06Speaker 3: change stuff up. I really enjoyed it, like I loved it.
- 21:10Speaker 2: So we always say that they need to do something
- 21:12Speaker 2: different Night one. I think that was the perfect little
- 21:15Speaker 2: antidote for me. Maybe they're listening to us, Maybe they are.
- 21:20Speaker 2: Do you were you disappointed to know that he won't
- 21:23Speaker 2: be sticking around for other episodes?
- 21:25Speaker 4: He'll be better?
- 21:26Speaker 2: Why did he have to reveal himself? Maybe not every episode,
- 21:29Speaker 2: but like you know, a couple of weeks down the road.
- 21:31Speaker 2: It's just fun for us, and I do think it's
- 21:33Speaker 2: infilmentive for.
- 21:35Speaker 3: Here's the deal, here's my philosophy. They knew they needed
- 21:38Speaker 3: to start doing stuff on Night one. The show knew
- 21:40Speaker 3: that Night one was pretty bland, that it didn't have
- 21:43Speaker 3: a spice, It didn't have like that side event that
- 21:48Speaker 3: allowed us all to get like watch it and kind
- 21:50Speaker 3: of be intrigued. Like that bar was a great like
- 21:54Speaker 3: bit for us to get into. I think the show's
- 21:57Speaker 3: assuming that if they didn't reveal him on Night one,
- 22:01Speaker 3: there wouldn't really be a purpose to revealing him three
- 22:04Speaker 3: weeks in, Like Night one needed this Night one needed
- 22:07Speaker 3: the drama, it needed the entertainment three weeks from now,
- 22:11Speaker 3: I think they're expecting that this cast will be entertaining
- 22:13Speaker 3: enough where like having him come in and say, hey,
- 22:16Speaker 3: some of you I'm questioning. At that point, Charity will
- 22:19Speaker 3: pretty much know who is good and bad, like she'll
- 22:23Speaker 3: figure it out by then Night one she doesn't know,
- 22:25Speaker 3: and so having her brother there as a guide on
- 22:27Speaker 3: Night one, I think is a valuable tool. I also
- 22:30Speaker 3: think it's an intriguing watch, a great bit, and I
- 22:34Speaker 3: think it spiced Night one up enough for us as
- 22:39Speaker 3: our analysts and fans of the show to talk about it,
- 22:42Speaker 3: which we usually don't talk a lot about Night one.
- 22:44Speaker 3: Our Night one episodes on this podcast are usually thirty
- 22:47Speaker 3: five minutes of us breaking down the entrances, what we
- 22:50Speaker 3: think the season's going to look like, and then we're done.
- 22:53Speaker 3: Think about it now, Ashley, we're twenty three minutes in
- 22:57Speaker 3: and we are like halfway through the episode. Because that's
- 22:59Speaker 3: how good Night One was compared to most seasons, and
- 23:02Speaker 3: a lot of that is because of Neamayah.
- 23:04Speaker 2: I completely agree. Well, then I would suggest let's throw
- 23:07Speaker 2: in a friend like the Best Friends they observe week five,
- 23:12Speaker 2: you know, I.
- 23:13Speaker 3: Mean, hey, maybe next year, here's here's an idea for
- 23:15Speaker 3: the show. What if what if like the Bachelor's best girlfriend?
- 23:21Speaker 3: Maybe even she's married, right, their best girlfriends. What if
- 23:24Speaker 3: she's like a contestant. She comes in limo terances exactly,
- 23:27Speaker 3: they get the little wink like, hey, how are you?
- 23:30Speaker 3: She goes and chills inside. She gets to know all
- 23:33Speaker 3: the women she's around for a bit. She's the mole,
- 23:35Speaker 3: you know, she's the one.
- 23:36Speaker 2: That's That's what I mean, Like, I want like a
- 23:38Speaker 2: full season mole. It would be so fun and.
- 23:41Speaker 4: It wouldn't change the format at all.
- 23:42Speaker 2: No, no, and then we can see the girl powowing
- 23:46Speaker 2: and giving the dirt. It'd be so great, it'd be awesome.
- 23:50Speaker 2: I I think they did that with the Hulu show
- 23:54Speaker 2: with Taye Diggs, where like they're cougars and then the
- 23:58Speaker 2: cougar sons are integrated in the cast of all the
- 24:01Speaker 2: young dating contestorts.
- 24:03Speaker 4: Okay, so that's good.
- 24:04Speaker 2: Okay, So let's talk about the guy that Nehemiah had
- 24:09Speaker 2: the I don't want to call it an issue, but
- 24:12Speaker 2: maybe sent some red flags around. And that was by
- 24:16Speaker 2: far Charity's favorite of the night, Brayden. She kissed four guys,
- 24:22Speaker 2: but she seemed way beyond with Braiden. And I get
- 24:28Speaker 2: it because just as a girl, I'm looking at Braiden
- 24:31Speaker 2: and he's definitely probably has the most.
- 24:33Speaker 4: Swag come on because he has an ear ring.
- 24:36Speaker 2: No, he's cute. I like, I think he's cute. I'm
- 24:40Speaker 2: charmed by him, but I know he's bad. Okay, I'm charged,
- 24:44Speaker 2: but I know he's bad.
- 24:45Speaker 3: I said, Ashley, what we've done this for six years.
- 24:49Speaker 3: I wasn't going to bring it up because I know
- 24:51Speaker 3: I just continue so I know he's bad. No, I
- 24:55Speaker 3: continue to pound this into the ground every time, every
- 24:58Speaker 3: season offline, online, we have somebody that you're into that
- 25:02Speaker 3: I'm like, Ashley, watch out for this dude. We've done
- 25:04Speaker 3: it with leads. We won't mention names, but you've been like, oh,
- 25:07Speaker 3: he's so great. I'm like, Ashley, pay attention, Like give
- 25:10Speaker 3: it a year. Something weird's gonna happen. You should have
- 25:13Speaker 3: been No, I'm not. I'm not denying this.
- 25:16Speaker 2: I know he's the dark.
- 25:19Speaker 4: But you do not stop. How did you not.
- 25:24Speaker 3: As soon as he says the words to charity? My
- 25:28Speaker 3: biggest problem in relationships is I can be over considerate.
- 25:33Speaker 3: How did you not go that he's done, like he's
- 25:37Speaker 3: out of there, like this is even before it?
- 25:40Speaker 2: Didn't she do it? Ben it's because we're ladies and
- 25:43Speaker 2: we're charmed by this off the bat, and there's the
- 25:46Speaker 2: physical attraction, and she can't deny it right now. She
- 25:50Speaker 2: will eventually deny it.
- 25:51Speaker 4: Though.
- 25:52Speaker 3: Anybody that tells you I have too big of a heart,
- 25:56Speaker 3: I give too much, I am way over too over considered,
- 26:00Speaker 3: you have to run from them.
- 26:01Speaker 4: That is a red flag.
- 26:03Speaker 3: It's an ego. It's them inflating their ego because they've
- 26:07Speaker 3: been told that they are not considerate, they're not giving,
- 26:10Speaker 3: and they say that's not true. I'm going to prove
- 26:12Speaker 3: you wrong. And how am I going to prove you wrong?
- 26:13Speaker 3: I'm just gonna say it, like I'm just gonna say.
- 26:15Speaker 3: I'm not going to prove I'm not going to do
- 26:16Speaker 3: with my actions. I'm not going to do with anything
- 26:18Speaker 3: else in my life. I'm just gonna say it. You're
- 26:20Speaker 3: gonna believe me, because yes, is he a good looking fella?
- 26:24Speaker 4: He is a good looking fella. Yes.
- 26:25Speaker 3: Did he dress up real nice for night one? He
- 26:28Speaker 3: did dress up real nice for night one. Does he
- 26:29Speaker 3: have an earring that doesn't look awkward on him like
- 26:31Speaker 3: you would look on me? Yes, he does. He has
- 26:34Speaker 3: his earrings.
- 26:34Speaker 2: His earring does it gives you like a Justin timberlike
- 26:37Speaker 2: vibe from like two thousand. It's great. Now the ear
- 26:42Speaker 2: rings in the future episodes are horrendous and like that
- 26:45Speaker 2: would have me sending him home. He's wearing like feather
- 26:48Speaker 2: ear rings, Like no, thanks.
- 26:49Speaker 4: Yeah, I like the feather more. I think was cool.
- 26:52Speaker 3: But I'm telling you right now, you got every every
- 26:57Speaker 3: viewer if you were swooned.
- 27:00Speaker 4: Whatever it was. Neamiah is not wrong.
- 27:02Speaker 2: Okay, but can I say this?
- 27:05Speaker 3: He is?
- 27:06Speaker 2: I get it, I get why she's charmed by him.
- 27:09Speaker 2: I know he's bad. I'm just gonna keep reiterating this.
- 27:12Speaker 2: And I thought he was far more appealing when he
- 27:16Speaker 2: was sitting down with her during his entrance all that.
- 27:19Speaker 2: When he did get to the bar and start kissing
- 27:22Speaker 2: and telling so much and being like oddly over excited publicly,
- 27:27Speaker 2: then I was starting to get a little bit of
- 27:28Speaker 2: a nick vibe.
- 27:30Speaker 3: Yes, okay, yeah, but I still don't since Ashley that
- 27:35Speaker 3: you're fully convinced that he is.
- 27:38Speaker 2: I'm convinced. I'm fully convinced, but I just know, I
- 27:42Speaker 2: just I'm also just trying to put myself in her shoes,
- 27:44Speaker 2: and I feel I was the lead. I would be like, no, no,
- 27:50Speaker 2: this off like we are ignoring all the the flags
- 27:54Speaker 2: right now.
- 27:54Speaker 4: Okay, that was my question.
- 27:55Speaker 3: If you were the lead of this season and he
- 27:57Speaker 3: was on your season, does he make it to week two?
- 28:00Speaker 2: Yes, I'd be ignoring it, but probably aware that he's
- 28:05Speaker 2: too smooth.
- 28:06Speaker 4: Goodness, gracious, Ashley. We have so much to talk about.
- 28:09Speaker 2: But also, I'm gonna say something really bad right now,
- 28:12Speaker 2: go phrase yourselves, guys, I'm gonna be brutally honest. The
- 28:19Speaker 2: cast is attractive, of course, everybody is attractive in the
- 28:22Speaker 2: way that like if you're if you're in class with
- 28:24Speaker 2: them and then you're doing a group project with them,
- 28:26Speaker 2: you develop a crush on them, right sure, but there's
- 28:29Speaker 2: not a ton of guys in this cast that you're
- 28:31Speaker 2: going to be like seeing at the bar and be like,
- 28:33Speaker 2: oh my god, I have to have another drink so
- 28:36Speaker 2: I can actually go up to him. Oh my gosh,
- 28:38Speaker 2: like can I make eye contact with that guy? Like
- 28:40Speaker 2: you gonna go to Okay, thank you, ton.
- 28:44Speaker 3: But here's the deal, and and most people could probably
- 28:49Speaker 3: agree with this. It's great to have swagger, it's super
- 28:52Speaker 3: nice to look really good for night one. But when
- 28:54Speaker 3: you're talking about your husband or your partner, like it's
- 28:58Speaker 3: not important any longer. Right, The most attractive people can
- 29:01Speaker 3: become very unattractive, very quickly, right, I mean, and the
- 29:05Speaker 3: Bachelor is the perfect place to experience this. I have
- 29:08Speaker 3: this experience where somebody on night one that you're like,
- 29:11Speaker 3: oh my goodness, like they are drop dead gorgeous. I
- 29:16Speaker 3: can't not like date them, and then three weeks in
- 29:20Speaker 3: you're like, I don't see it anymore because of personality,
- 29:24Speaker 3: because of the way they treat other people, because of
- 29:26Speaker 3: the things being said, like it just happens, and you
- 29:29Speaker 3: have it happened week over week, and so it is
- 29:31Speaker 3: going to be interesting to see the journey of Braiden.
- 29:34Speaker 3: I am not putting any money behind Braiden. If I'm
- 29:37Speaker 3: a betting man, I'm saying that dude makes it about
- 29:39Speaker 3: three weeks he does something. Okay, well he does something.
- 29:44Speaker 3: This is my bet right now, let me let me
- 29:46Speaker 3: let me stick my statement. Here's my statement. He's going
- 29:52Speaker 3: to do something so inconsiderate that he is let go like,
- 29:57Speaker 3: he is going to be the most inconsiderate person on
- 30:00Speaker 3: this season. At some point it will be a storyline
- 30:02Speaker 3: we talk about and so him saying he's too over considerate,
- 30:06Speaker 3: meaning he's too whatever that.
- 30:08Speaker 2: Means to be completely honest. I don't remember him saying that.
- 30:11Speaker 4: But it sticks out to me.
- 30:13Speaker 2: It would, it would stick out to you. And I
- 30:16Speaker 2: was watching with Dawson, so like, I was pretty much
- 30:19Speaker 2: paying attention to the entire way through, but there may
- 30:21Speaker 2: have been a few lines where I was like taking
- 30:23Speaker 2: eggs away from him.
- 30:25Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, well I will say I paid attention to it.
- 30:29Speaker 3: It sticks out to me. I watch for it every season.
- 30:31Speaker 3: The other reason I was watching for it is because
- 30:35Speaker 3: there was a lot of one liners in Night One
- 30:37Speaker 3: this year. A lot of people had really smooth things
- 30:39Speaker 3: they said, and a lot of things that you could
- 30:41Speaker 3: tell they prepped to say. It felt, you know, awkward
- 30:45Speaker 3: for me because yes, that is a pet peeve of mine.
- 30:47Speaker 3: I understand it. I'm not going to dig into it,
- 30:50Speaker 3: but it is a pet peeve of mine. So it
- 30:51Speaker 3: did stand out to me. It felt like Night One
- 30:54Speaker 3: for as genuine and caring and honest as Charity was.
- 30:58Speaker 3: It felt like the guys came in knowing exactly how
- 31:01Speaker 3: they wanted this conversation to go, and it felt like
- 31:04Speaker 3: at times it worked like Night One she was swooned
- 31:07Speaker 3: over a few times. There was a lot of kisses,
- 31:09Speaker 3: there was a lot of connections. There was a lot
- 31:11Speaker 3: of people, you know, telling her how great she was
- 31:14Speaker 3: and is, which is awesome. She deserves that on Night one.
- 31:18Speaker 3: But I am excited for weeks three, four five, where
- 31:23Speaker 3: these guys no longer have one liners to give because
- 31:26Speaker 3: they've ran out of them, and the genuineness and the
- 31:29Speaker 3: authenticity and the real conversations need to start having. That's
- 31:33Speaker 3: what I'm excited for because Night one, Yes, it was
- 31:36Speaker 3: one of my favorite night ones in a long time.
- 31:39Speaker 3: It was one of the most awkward night ones I've
- 31:41Speaker 3: had a long time because of the one liners.
- 31:45Speaker 2: Really, Ben, I don't even think about this. I don't.
- 31:50Speaker 4: Maybe I'm the only it was.
- 31:51Speaker 2: Such a bend thing it is. I get it's also
- 31:55Speaker 2: probably a guy watching it. Nothing stuck out to me.
- 32:00Speaker 2: The only thing that sticks out to me, especially as
- 32:02Speaker 2: something that Ben doesn't like that he's now made me
- 32:04Speaker 2: like and not like, is you know when they self described,
- 32:07Speaker 2: And there's so much self describing at Night one, and
- 32:09Speaker 2: that makes me feel like, eh, but all of the
- 32:11Speaker 2: producers are being like, what kind of person are you? Like?
- 32:15Speaker 2: What kind of character are you gonna bring to Charity?
- 32:19Speaker 2: You know in the season.
- 32:20Speaker 4: Yeah, well, Night one is always a hard watch.
- 32:23Speaker 2: This was remember the lines that really any line really
- 32:26Speaker 2: gets you.
- 32:28Speaker 3: I just remember watching all these guys and being like,
- 32:30Speaker 3: you've tried really hard for this season.
- 32:32Speaker 4: Which is fine. I mean it's not one.
- 32:34Speaker 3: It's all awkward, it's all weird, and there's a bunch
- 32:36Speaker 3: of dudes trying to to hang out with one person.
- 32:38Speaker 3: But there was kisses, which makes me think that Charity
- 32:42Speaker 3: was very into a lot of these guys. She does
- 32:45Speaker 3: feel like some of them, and I think it's awesome.
- 32:48Speaker 3: I think it's great. I think there is a lot
- 32:50Speaker 3: of connections, some deep connections, as we'll talk about later on,
- 32:54Speaker 3: that this season will produce. I do feel for Nehemiah.
- 32:57Speaker 3: I don't have a sister, but I would imagine the
- 33:01Speaker 3: feeling of having your sister, you know, thirty feet away
- 33:04Speaker 3: from you. Like I know where his bar was set
- 33:05Speaker 3: up at the mansion. It's not far from most of
- 33:07Speaker 3: the seating, and he's sitting there with a very clear
- 33:10Speaker 3: view of his sister and these guys making out.
- 33:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know if it's weird, and maybe it's
- 33:16Speaker 2: weird come on as okay as a sister or sister thing,
- 33:20Speaker 2: Like if my sister was over there making out, I'd
- 33:22Speaker 2: be like giggling, not like thinking it was gross. But
- 33:25Speaker 2: I'm sure as a girl, a brother or sister a
- 33:27Speaker 2: relationship is probably gross.
- 33:29Speaker 4: Right, Yeah.
- 33:29Speaker 3: I can't imagine that he's just like super chill with this,
- 33:32Speaker 3: And I can't imagine that he's just like, oh, that's cool,
- 33:34Speaker 3: there's my sister making out with the dude, Like I
- 33:37Speaker 3: don't and like, just from the small bit we got
- 33:40Speaker 3: to see a nama, I can tell he's a great
- 33:42Speaker 3: a great dude, a great brother, cares a lot, wants
- 33:44Speaker 3: to see his process not only bring joy to his sister,
- 33:47Speaker 3: but also brings some type of like future for his
- 33:51Speaker 3: sister when it comes to a partner, Like you can
- 33:53Speaker 3: tell in just a way he communicated with her, in
- 33:55Speaker 3: the way that he walked through that evening, and the
- 33:57Speaker 3: jokes that he made about himself and the awkwardness that
- 33:59Speaker 3: he felt at times that he was not there to
- 34:02Speaker 3: stand in the middle and be the bully big brother
- 34:04Speaker 3: that's like, you know, forcing Charity to make the right
- 34:08Speaker 3: and wrong decision. Even when he presented Braden to her.
- 34:11Speaker 3: It was like, hey, I know you're into this guy.
- 34:14Speaker 3: I know you're like I know you like like what's
- 34:16Speaker 3: going on right now, but just be careful, like just
- 34:19Speaker 3: and I trust you to make that decision for yourself
- 34:21Speaker 3: whenever you want to make that decision. I just trust that,
- 34:24Speaker 3: like you are looking into this. He was awesome, But
- 34:27Speaker 3: I can't imagine that was fun for him. I can't
- 34:29Speaker 3: imagine it was easy. I'm sure at times when these
- 34:32Speaker 3: guys are like, yeah, I was just making out there
- 34:34Speaker 3: over there, he's like, oh really, go screw like, screw
- 34:37Speaker 3: you man.
- 34:38Speaker 2: No, He's like you cringe. He's fine. I don't think
- 34:41Speaker 2: he's not effective by I thought he had probably had
- 34:43Speaker 2: a great time. Need to get on sav he's bartending.
- 34:46Speaker 2: He looks like Steve Harvey. Bring him on, totally get
- 34:50Speaker 2: him on.
- 34:51Speaker 4: Let's bring him on. I want to talk.
- 34:52Speaker 2: I want him on for next week. This is a
- 34:54Speaker 2: serious request. Producers. Okay, before we get into the first
- 34:59Speaker 2: and Russian rows, let's just talk about the kisses. There
- 35:02Speaker 2: is Aaron b there is Braiden. There was Josh was John,
- 35:09Speaker 2: which actually I was like kind of more surprised by
- 35:12Speaker 2: and who am I missing? I don't know there's one
- 35:17Speaker 2: other kiss.
- 35:18Speaker 3: I don't write them all down. I mean Braiden Aaron B.
- 35:22Speaker 3: John definitely stood out. I don't think she kissed Joey
- 35:25Speaker 3: or Xavier on night one.
- 35:27Speaker 2: No, no, she didn't.
- 35:28Speaker 4: I will say, uh, my top top person after night one.
- 35:32Speaker 4: And I think he.
- 35:35Speaker 3: You just saw it in how he handled the evening
- 35:37Speaker 3: was Aaron B. I think he stood out to the
- 35:38Speaker 3: brother because he was at the bar kind of hanging
- 35:41Speaker 3: out and hearing, you know, a lot of the stuff,
- 35:43Speaker 3: and then when the guy asked, did you kiss her?
- 35:45Speaker 3: He was like, we had a great time, but I'm
- 35:47Speaker 3: not going to just like tell everything. Braiden was over
- 35:52Speaker 3: in the corner kind of during the entrance in the Amayah,
- 35:57Speaker 3: expressing to aar and B how great his kiss was,
- 36:00Speaker 3: and Aaron B just kind of stood there, probably not
- 36:02Speaker 3: loving it, probably finding it very inappropriate for another guy
- 36:05Speaker 3: to be telling another contestant about that evening. But he
- 36:09Speaker 3: just stood there and you could just tell he took
- 36:10Speaker 3: it in and was like, hey, man, you you aren't
- 36:13Speaker 3: a threat to me this. You don't make me nervous.
- 36:17Speaker 3: I am gonna be shocked if Aaron B. Is not
- 36:20Speaker 3: there at the end just after Night one.
- 36:23Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I know, Aaron b is definitely the long hauler.
- 36:26Speaker 2: And by the way I figured it out, it's Xavier
- 36:27Speaker 2: who was the fourth.
- 36:28Speaker 3: Kiss Okay, so that was Zavier, So there was four kisses.
- 36:32Speaker 3: I think there's many other guys that she was probably
- 36:35Speaker 3: just as equally into as she was, you know, the
- 36:38Speaker 3: guys that she kissed. But these are the guys that
- 36:40Speaker 3: kind of had to make, you know, the storylines on
- 36:43Speaker 3: night one. And I think there's all I think it's
- 36:45Speaker 3: a good group. As you said, I don't think, you know,
- 36:48Speaker 3: this is a group just full of stop you know,
- 36:51Speaker 3: stop yourself in your tracks and you know, do a
- 36:53Speaker 3: double check because these guys are like so ungodly good looking.
- 36:58Speaker 3: But I do think it's a good looking group of
- 37:00Speaker 3: solid dudes. And for the most part, if we think
- 37:03Speaker 3: about this episode, there was really only one person that
- 37:08Speaker 3: caused any type of controversy at Night one, and that
- 37:10Speaker 3: was Brayden, I know, is.
- 37:14Speaker 2: A troublemaker and we all know it. Who Sean with
- 37:18Speaker 2: the hair. Sean with the hair. The hair looks ridiculous.
- 37:21Speaker 3: Yeah, well well I think we see that in the
- 37:24Speaker 3: preview also, so okay.
- 37:25Speaker 2: Yeah, he's gonna be a troublemaker. Okay, let's talk about
- 37:38Speaker 2: Braiden getting the first impression Rose. So basically she's worn
- 37:43Speaker 2: to not really give it to him, but then she's like,
- 37:47Speaker 2: guess what, I'm gonna give it to him anyway because
- 37:50Speaker 2: her brother seeing that he's just like two kiss and
- 37:53Speaker 2: Telly right, But she likes the fact that he's so
- 37:58Speaker 2: thrilled by his experience with her that he needs to
- 38:01Speaker 2: tell everyone. She terpreters did it a totally different way.
- 38:04Speaker 2: Do you think that there's a conversation that's taken out
- 38:07Speaker 2: of the edit where her brother was like, bo, it
- 38:11Speaker 2: seems like he's really genuinely into I.
- 38:15Speaker 3: Don't think it was taken out. I mean, I think
- 38:17Speaker 3: the way her brother presented it to her, I mean
- 38:21Speaker 3: he definitely allowed the space for her to interpret from
- 38:25Speaker 3: that conversation whatever she would like. He did not say
- 38:28Speaker 3: I don't think brings the guy for you. I don't
- 38:30Speaker 3: want to see him around again. Like he didn't say
- 38:33Speaker 3: any of that. He said, here's a deal. I have
- 38:36Speaker 3: weird feelings about this kinda but charity. You gotta do
- 38:40Speaker 3: what you gotta do. And he I think we did
- 38:42Speaker 3: see NEAMAI saying he's obviously very into you and you're
- 38:44Speaker 3: very into him. Yeah, and so that's fine. It's night one.
- 38:49Speaker 3: I thought again, Neiamiah handled that conversation really well. I
- 38:52Speaker 3: did not expect him to get the first impression rose.
- 38:55Speaker 3: It did feel like a slap in the face to
- 38:58Speaker 3: a lot of the guys when he did get the rose.
- 39:02Speaker 3: I imagine it going down like this behind the scenes.
- 39:04Speaker 2: You want to hear my theory, Yes, yes, I feel
- 39:08Speaker 2: similar things. I think.
- 39:10Speaker 4: So Charity is into this dude. It's very obvious.
- 39:14Speaker 3: She has the conversation with her brother where her brother says, hey,
- 39:18Speaker 3: just watch out for him. But he's very into you,
- 39:20Speaker 3: and he's very open about being into you. I don't
- 39:24Speaker 3: like that, but Charity, you gotta do what you gotta do.
- 39:27Speaker 2: Is it a bad thing? I'm kind of playing Devil's
- 39:29Speaker 2: advocate right now, But is it really a bad thing?
- 39:31Speaker 4: Yes, it's a very inappropriate thing.
- 39:33Speaker 3: It shows a lack of maturity and respect for the
- 39:37Speaker 3: other guys there, and it shows a lack of respect
- 39:40Speaker 3: for Charity because if you in this format had a
- 39:43Speaker 3: guy going around sharing every little detail of every conversation,
- 39:47Speaker 3: every kiss, every romantic moment that you had that's unfair
- 39:50Speaker 3: to Charity because it ruins the other relationships and it
- 39:52Speaker 3: puts this image in their head and this thought in
- 39:55Speaker 3: their head. That is unfair to Charity because she's still
- 39:58Speaker 3: trying to pursue other relationships.
- 39:59Speaker 2: Now, it's really weird to put yourself in his shoes too,
- 40:04Speaker 2: where like Bryden is going around telling everybody about the kiss,
- 40:08Speaker 2: and even if you're like the most extrovert, like non
- 40:12Speaker 2: private person on the show, you liken never really go
- 40:15Speaker 2: and tell anybody about your intimate moments as the lead
- 40:18Speaker 2: unless they're like your best friends after a few weeks,
- 40:21Speaker 2: and then I'm still weird too.
- 40:23Speaker 3: Let me let me, let me bring this into perspective
- 40:25Speaker 3: for you, Ashley. Okay, so Jared, Jared's a great dude.
- 40:29Speaker 3: He's one of the best men I've ever met.
- 40:31Speaker 2: You're so sweet.
- 40:32Speaker 3: But Jared's on the show, right, And what do you
- 40:35Speaker 3: ever see Jared going on a date during his time
- 40:38Speaker 3: in the Bachelor and coming back and telling all the
- 40:40Speaker 3: dudes about every detail of that date.
- 40:42Speaker 2: No, it's super weird. It is why he's playing Devil's advocate.
- 40:47Speaker 2: Just remind just remember that.
- 40:49Speaker 3: But why would Jared not do that? You know, Jared.
- 40:53Speaker 3: Why would he not be that guy.
- 40:54Speaker 2: Because like those things are supposed to be between the two
- 40:57Speaker 2: people dating.
- 40:58Speaker 3: And there's a respects the person he's dating, he respects
- 41:03Speaker 3: the other men in the house, he respects his friendships.
- 41:05Speaker 4: Yeah, he respects their expect.
- 41:08Speaker 2: Any other men is a big part of that.
- 41:10Speaker 4: Actually.
- 41:10Speaker 3: So yeah, so I think right there we would say, no,
- 41:12Speaker 3: it's not a great decision because one of the best
- 41:15Speaker 3: dudes we know would never do that out of respect
- 41:18Speaker 3: and maturity and care for not only of the men,
- 41:21Speaker 3: but also the lead of the show. And so when
- 41:24Speaker 3: I see that, and that's the perspective I look at,
- 41:26Speaker 3: I go, when Braiden did this, I said, the dudes
- 41:28Speaker 3: I know that are good dudes. They wouldn't have done this.
- 41:31Speaker 3: They would have never even thought of doing this. They
- 41:33Speaker 3: would never even would have They would have gone out
- 41:36Speaker 3: of their way to not do this.
- 41:38Speaker 2: Okay, Okay, Now I have another question for you. Do
- 41:41Speaker 2: you think that Charity, if she would have actually seen it,
- 41:44Speaker 2: would have been turned off by it and it made
- 41:46Speaker 2: a different decision. So what do you think she's got
- 41:49Speaker 2: lust blinders? On?
- 41:51Speaker 4: No, I think it's different on night one.
- 41:52Speaker 3: I think in five weeks, if somebody did this, then
- 41:56Speaker 3: she would be upset. But I think on night one
- 41:59Speaker 3: it is such an emotional rollercoaster. It is so exciting.
- 42:04Speaker 3: You're just hoping that somebody there is into you. Really,
- 42:06Speaker 3: I mean, that is every leads concern is these people
- 42:09Speaker 3: are gonna showuplay and be like, gosh, dang it, like
- 42:11Speaker 3: let's go through this. And I think on night one
- 42:14Speaker 3: that validation feels really good, and it feels healthy, and
- 42:18Speaker 3: it feels it feels like it's never going to cause
- 42:21Speaker 3: an issue.
- 42:22Speaker 4: It just in your mind.
- 42:24Speaker 3: I think, as the lead, you're thinking these people being
- 42:27Speaker 3: so into me is only gonna benefit the process because
- 42:31Speaker 3: now they're gonna be so solely focused on getting to
- 42:34Speaker 3: know me of going on dates with me, and they're
- 42:36Speaker 3: almost gonna be not I'm gonna say competing, but I
- 42:39Speaker 3: think you know what I mean, for like the for
- 42:43Speaker 3: me that this is gonna work because they are into me.
- 42:46Speaker 3: But in five weeks, when these relationships do progress and
- 42:50Speaker 3: she is more comfortable within them and there is things
- 42:53Speaker 3: that she's trying to protect to continue on with other
- 42:56Speaker 3: relationships apart from maybe the one with Braden, she's gonna
- 42:59Speaker 3: be a lot more sensitive to the damage that those
- 43:02Speaker 3: conversations that he's having outwardly can cause on the other
- 43:06Speaker 3: relationships that she's into right now. It's not a problem
- 43:09Speaker 3: five weeks from now, big problem.
- 43:11Speaker 2: Yeah, yep. And it would come across way weirder if
- 43:15Speaker 2: he was doing this for in the weeks to come.
- 43:17Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 43:17Speaker 3: Sure, so Hey, not necessarily a deal breaker, not necessarily
- 43:22Speaker 3: a reason not to give him a rose, but it
- 43:24Speaker 3: is something to look out for as the season progresses.
- 43:26Speaker 3: For him getting the first impression Rods, I do feel
- 43:28Speaker 3: like was weird to go back to how I think
- 43:30Speaker 3: this worked behind the scenes. I think that Charity has
- 43:35Speaker 3: this conversation with her brother, she goes and sits with Braden.
- 43:39Speaker 3: He tells her, Hey, you know what, I'm just so
- 43:41Speaker 3: into you it is hard for me to keep it in.
- 43:43Speaker 3: And she's going, this is what I needed on night one.
- 43:45Speaker 3: And the producers are saying validate. They're all they're telling her,
- 43:50Speaker 3: because they're not telling her to give them the first
- 43:52Speaker 3: impression rows.
- 43:52Speaker 4: They don't do that again. I but they're definitely saying
- 43:56Speaker 4: validate the excitement.
- 43:58Speaker 3: The excitement because he's feeling out on himself. He's feeling
- 44:01Speaker 3: awkward because he got called out by your brother and
- 44:03Speaker 3: these other guys. He's feeling like maybe he didn't do
- 44:08Speaker 3: something right, and they're saying, just validate that he's okay
- 44:11Speaker 3: and give them the first impression rows And it works
- 44:13Speaker 3: out best for everybody because now there's a target on
- 44:16Speaker 3: the back of the guy that the producer is definitely
- 44:18Speaker 3: wanted the target on the back of, and Braiden's feeling
- 44:22Speaker 3: more validated. So his behavior is only going to continue
- 44:25Speaker 3: to go in the direction it was before. The guys
- 44:27Speaker 3: are upset with Braiden. He's an easy guy to get
- 44:29Speaker 3: upset with. He is a front runner, he is attractive,
- 44:32Speaker 3: he is you know, swoony, he is smooth, all these things.
- 44:36Speaker 3: Everything works out, and so the producers, even though they
- 44:38Speaker 3: don't tell her you have to give this to him,
- 44:40Speaker 3: they're in the control room going, yes, it worked out
- 44:43Speaker 3: like we hoped it would.
- 44:45Speaker 2: Ben Bravo, that was such a clarifying explanation as to yeah,
- 44:51Speaker 2: I love that, Thank you. Really you pinpointed.
- 44:54Speaker 4: It because they don't. It's not scripted. I just want
- 44:57Speaker 4: to be clear.
- 44:57Speaker 3: The producers are never telling her you have to this
- 45:00Speaker 3: or you have to do that, like that is not
- 45:01Speaker 3: a thing. And I don't think it takes away from
- 45:04Speaker 3: the legitimacy of the show to say, but they do
- 45:07Speaker 3: have like their idea ideal storyline on night one, Like,
- 45:11Speaker 3: they do have this idea. Okay, if Aaron Bee gets
- 45:13Speaker 3: the first impression Rose, like, here's what here's how it's
- 45:15Speaker 3: going to be taken. Yeah, if Braiin gets it, here's
- 45:17Speaker 3: how it's going to be taken. And so when they
- 45:19Speaker 3: saw the opportunity for Braiden to get it, they said, whoo,
- 45:23Speaker 3: the sky's have opened up again.
- 45:25Speaker 2: Yes, so they either really would love to have like
- 45:29Speaker 2: the long term love be the first impression Rose or
- 45:34Speaker 2: the villain to be. And in this case, when she
- 45:38Speaker 2: when he got the first impression Rose, my first thought was, oh,
- 45:41Speaker 2: this is one of the seasons where the villain to
- 45:43Speaker 2: be will be getting the Rose, a guy that's not
- 45:46Speaker 2: going to stick around super long, someone who really pulled
- 45:50Speaker 2: the wool over her eyes initially. Okay, do we even
- 45:53Speaker 2: remember the guys names that got eliminated?
- 45:56Speaker 3: Okay, so, but they're all really good looking. I just
- 46:00Speaker 3: feel like they didn't, you know, they didn't get their
- 46:02Speaker 3: shot with her, Like there wasn't a guy that was like,
- 46:04Speaker 3: oh he was definitely going home on night one. There
- 46:06Speaker 3: was nobody on night one that I felt like they're gone.
- 46:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree. Sneak peek upcoming episodes. What's what obviously
- 46:17Speaker 2: is really standing out to us is Brandon's ear rings
- 46:20Speaker 2: and the fact that he will be into drama. The
- 46:22Speaker 2: fact that the guy with the swoopy hair will also
- 46:26Speaker 2: what's his name, Sean, I don't know who we're talking about. Sean, Yeah,
- 46:31Speaker 2: Sean will also beginning to drama. Joey with the Tongue.
- 46:36Speaker 2: Joey says at one point that he's falling in love
- 46:38Speaker 2: with Jaredy in the the scenes for the next episode,
- 46:42Speaker 2: so like we think that he'll probably be around for
- 46:44Speaker 2: quite some time. That's not a shock to me at all.
- 46:46Speaker 2: I think Joey's definitely top six in this group.
- 46:48Speaker 3: Don't we see it with Dunton. Dunton says as well,
- 46:50Speaker 3: and Aaron B.
- 46:52Speaker 2: Dunton definitely says something serious about being into her at
- 46:55Speaker 2: a dinner table. So I think he gets to be
- 46:58Speaker 2: around for a while, and then I think the drama
- 47:03Speaker 2: will just be at the end. Just seems to be
- 47:06Speaker 2: what it's been for a while now thanks to you
- 47:09Speaker 2: that she's fallen in love with multiple people, they really
- 47:12Speaker 2: stole that storylining. What was it? Ben?
- 47:14Speaker 3: Was that the best thing that ever happened to the
- 47:15Speaker 3: Bachelor and Bachelorette? Seriously, I guess so was my pain
- 47:20Speaker 3: like the sword they needed me to fall on so
- 47:22Speaker 3: they could open up a whole new chapter of the show.
- 47:26Speaker 4: I'm wondering that.
- 47:27Speaker 3: I watched this last night and I was like, wait,
- 47:30Speaker 3: everybody's gonna watch this one and be numb to it,
- 47:33Speaker 3: but also feel for her. I know how they're gonna smile.
- 47:36Speaker 3: They're like, this is so hard. I get it. When
- 47:38Speaker 3: I did it, it was the opposite. And I was
- 47:42Speaker 3: watching this and Jess was sitting in the room with me,
- 47:46Speaker 3: and I said, Honey, and I've never had this feeling
- 47:51Speaker 3: in my life. I'm want to say it here because
- 47:53Speaker 3: it tread. I was like, am I the best thing
- 47:56Speaker 3: that ever happened to the show?
- 47:57Speaker 5: Like?
- 47:58Speaker 2: Am I?
- 47:58Speaker 1: Like?
- 47:59Speaker 2: Oh my god? I never says things like that, and I.
- 48:01Speaker 3: Love it, But at some point it's like this thing
- 48:05Speaker 3: is happening in it.
- 48:06Speaker 4: And when I did it, I had to.
- 48:07Speaker 3: Explain myself of how in the world could you fall
- 48:09Speaker 3: in love with two people and how in the world
- 48:10Speaker 3: can you tell two people you love them and how
- 48:12Speaker 3: in the world could it be so hard to have
- 48:14Speaker 3: somebody to go home on the day. And it's like,
- 48:16Speaker 3: I don't know, it just was like it felt very
- 48:19Speaker 3: human to me.
- 48:20Speaker 4: It felt very real to me.
- 48:22Speaker 2: It fat now every lead is like I'm falling in
- 48:25Speaker 2: love with theltle. People that were like, of course you are, Yeah,
- 48:28Speaker 2: of course. We feel so bad that you have to
- 48:30Speaker 2: make this difficult decision between multiple people that you are
- 48:33Speaker 2: obviously in love with. It's it's so believable.
- 48:36Speaker 4: And it is believable.
- 48:37Speaker 3: Yeah, but when I did it, it was I got crushed,
- 48:43Speaker 3: like absolutely destroyed. It was like everything good is every
- 48:47Speaker 3: This season pretty much had like nothing dramatic, maybe even nothing.
- 48:51Speaker 3: Maybe it's the best thing that ever happened to me
- 48:53Speaker 3: because the one thing that kept my storyline continuing. And
- 48:57Speaker 3: I guarantee like their tweets like she pulled the Ben Higgins,
- 49:01Speaker 3: I guarantee that. So maybe it's the best thing that
- 49:03Speaker 3: ever happened to me. Is I did something controversial.
- 49:07Speaker 2: You did something in pop culture history that will live long.
- 49:11Speaker 3: Oh well, I watched it and I said, I feel
- 49:13Speaker 3: pretty Charity, I feel bad for you. I know how
- 49:15Speaker 3: this feels. I know that it sucks. I know that,
- 49:17Speaker 3: like it's confusing. I know that you're not used to this.
- 49:20Speaker 3: I know I know how this feels charity. I watch
- 49:23Speaker 3: it with that and then I stopped and I said,
- 49:25Speaker 3: time out, time out. People are gonna feel for her.
- 49:30Speaker 3: And when I did it, I got crushed and I
- 49:33Speaker 3: felt very alone and very confused, and I felt, I literally, actually,
- 49:37Speaker 3: here's something crazy.
- 49:38Speaker 4: Never said this.
- 49:39Speaker 3: I went to therapy because of this with the show's therapist.
- 49:44Speaker 2: Yeah, which she was amazing.
- 49:47Speaker 3: And said to her, I remember this exact conversation. I said, Hey,
- 49:51Speaker 3: this is real to me. I felt this way. I
- 49:54Speaker 3: don't want to deny that I did feel this way.
- 49:57Speaker 3: Am I like, is there something wrong with me?
- 50:00Speaker 1: Like?
- 50:00Speaker 4: Am I the weirdo?
- 50:03Speaker 2: Not?
- 50:03Speaker 3: I'm definitely weird, but it's like, am I do I
- 50:06Speaker 3: have deep seated issues with me? Because I said this
- 50:12Speaker 3: and because I felt this, like, am I ever going
- 50:14Speaker 3: to be able to find my partner? Because of how
- 50:17Speaker 3: I felt during this show? It was a real thing
- 50:20Speaker 3: to me because I felt so alone and so isolated
- 50:24Speaker 3: and so much like the world said, how in the
- 50:26Speaker 3: world that you could never feel that way?
- 50:28Speaker 4: I would never feel that way?
- 50:29Speaker 3: Well, got news for you, everybody it happens, and Charity
- 50:33Speaker 3: experienced it, and if you trust Charity and you like Charity,
- 50:36Speaker 3: well yeah, there's some more validation.
- 50:41Speaker 2: Ben. Maybe we should do like a therapy session with
- 50:44Speaker 2: you and all the leads that said this, Like you
- 50:47Speaker 2: guys have a good group convos, there'd be thirty.
- 50:49Speaker 3: Of us, there'd be every one of us have felt
- 50:52Speaker 3: this way. So I'm just a first to say it outwardly.
- 50:55Speaker 3: So maybe that makes me.
- 50:58Speaker 4: Stupid. I don't know.
- 50:59Speaker 2: There's no other moment, and the scenes in the next
- 51:01Speaker 2: episode that I liked. We're obviously gonna have like a
- 51:04Speaker 2: badass chick moment with Charity. Don't know what it's about yet,
- 51:08Speaker 2: but I know that she's like the kind of girl
- 51:11Speaker 2: that is just so likable. But then like when she
- 51:13Speaker 2: needs to stand up for herself, she's just gonna rocket
- 51:15Speaker 2: And I'm excited for that moment.
- 51:17Speaker 4: Yeah, she rips that rose off of him. I forget
- 51:20Speaker 4: what she said.
- 51:20Speaker 2: Well, that's right, she goes you think that like, you
- 51:23Speaker 2: can't I can't just pick that right back off of
- 51:25Speaker 2: you or something like that.
- 51:27Speaker 3: I think she like swears and then takes it and
- 51:29Speaker 3: walks off. I'm like, I want to see this so bad.
- 51:32Speaker 3: I love those moments because that guy obviously deserved.
- 51:34Speaker 2: It, and it was Sean. I think, yeah, well.
- 51:37Speaker 3: We can hope Ashley. It's gonna be a great season.
