  Speaker 1: It's time for us to go to God in prayer,

  Speaker 1: and as always, I ask that you join along with me.

  Speaker 2: You know, it's Christmas Eve.

  Speaker 1: And many of us are excited about the holiday.

  Speaker 2: And we've trimmed the tree. We've been in.

  Speaker 1: The kitchen cooking and preparing. I know I have been
• 0:18
  Speaker 1: in there, bacon pies and cooking and all of that,
• 0:20
  Speaker 1: getting ready for family dinner. But my heart is grieved
• 0:23
  Speaker 1: when I think about the many people who won't be
• 0:27
  Speaker 1: surrounded by family and friends and loved ones during this
• 0:31
  Speaker 1: Christmas season. My heart is grieved when I think about
• 0:34
  Speaker 1: individuals who are spending their first Christmas without someone that
• 0:38
  Speaker 1: they love or care about them. Maybe it's their fifth,
• 0:41
  Speaker 1: or sixth, or ten, but it's always a difficult time.

  Speaker 1: I want to pray for you this morning. I want
• 0:47
  Speaker 1: to pray that you remember the reason for the holiday season.

  Speaker 1: And I do also want to pray for your comfort,
• 0:53
  Speaker 1: your peace, and your joy, Father God, in the name
• 0:56
  Speaker 1: of Jesus Christ. As we gather for Christmas, our hearts

  Speaker 1: feel a little heavy sometimes, God, with the absence of
• 1:03
  Speaker 1: a loved one. We miss their laughter, we miss their warmth.

  Speaker 1: We've missed their joy, we miss their presence Lord, during
• 1:10
  Speaker 1: this time where so many are celebrating and having joy
• 1:14
  Speaker 1: over the holiday season, we ask for your comfort, for
• 1:17
  Speaker 1: your peace.

  Speaker 2: It goes beyond our human understanding.

  Speaker 1: For those that are dealing with an empty void, a space,
• 1:25
  Speaker 1: a seat that's normally filled by a loved.
• 1:28
  Speaker 2: One at the dinner table.

  Speaker 1: We ask God that you wrap your loving arms around
• 1:33
  Speaker 1: those that experience loneliness, a heartbreak, a heartache during this
• 1:37
  Speaker 1: holiday season.

  Speaker 2: Wrap your loving arms around us.

  Speaker 1: Give us your peace, Help us to remember the precious
• 1:45
  Speaker 1: memories that we've shared with loved ones. Give us strength

  Speaker 1: a face of challenges ahead. And God, help us to

  Speaker 1: find solace in knowing that our loved ones are in
• 1:54
  Speaker 1: your presence. God is God to find joy in the
• 1:59
  Speaker 1: simple moments and to celebrate the gift of life that

  Speaker 1: we still have. God, let your spirit, the spirit of Christmas,

  Speaker 1: shine brightly within us. Even God, those that are experiencing
• 2:08
  Speaker 1: sorrow and grief. Help us God to carry the spirit
• 2:12
  Speaker 1: of our loved ones and the memory of our loved
• 2:14
  Speaker 1: ones in our heart today and every day. Thank you

  Speaker 1: God for your promise that you never leave us, You
• 2:21
  Speaker 1: never forsake us, but You're with us always. Thank you

  Speaker 1: for the joy of Christmas. Thank you, Lord God, for

  Speaker 1: the joy unspeakable that you promised in

  Speaker 2: Your word in jesus'ned Amen.
