- 0:05Speaker 1: the Feds are selling Dame Dash's Steak in Rockefeller Records.
- 0:10Speaker 1: L COOLJ names his Mount rushmore of death Jam artists
- 0:16Speaker 1: with some notable omissions, and my thoughts on a new
- 0:21Speaker 1: album from Killer Mike Songs for Sinners in Saints, not
- 0:27Speaker 1: in but in Saints. I know I kind of fumbled that,
- 0:30Speaker 1: but whatever. You know what I'm talking about, Let's do it.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Welcome Georgia Pop Now Podcasts. If you from the future,
- 0:42Speaker 1: you know what you do? Your ass out so disrespect
- 0:48Speaker 1: the leg hip hop is here to today, escat rat
- 0:54Speaker 1: into the business. What up, y'all? I am your host
- 0:57Speaker 1: Vegas and this is hip Hop and Now Podcasts, a
- 1:01Speaker 1: podcast specifically designed to keep you caught up on all
- 1:04Speaker 1: things hip hop, music and culture that happened throughout the week.

- 1:15Speaker 1: watching the video version of this podcast, you can see
- 1:20Speaker 1: the names below. Speaking of the video version, what I
- 1:25Speaker 1: would like to say is if if you listen to
- 1:31Speaker 1: the audio version of this podcast and you're like, I
- 1:33Speaker 1: really been digging this for years, I've really been digging
- 1:35Speaker 1: this for days, seconds, minutes, whatever it may be. Please no,
- 1:39Speaker 1: there is a video version of this podcast on YouTube
- 1:42Speaker 1: where we are on the road to five hundred subscribers.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Right now, we are knocking on the door of four sixty.
- 1:52Speaker 1: A couple of people showed up last week. I appreciate you,
- 1:56Speaker 1: but we need more. So the best thing to do is,
- 2:00Speaker 1: if you watch this, you kind of like what you hear,
- 2:04Speaker 1: and you want to hear more. You want to see more,
- 2:06Speaker 1: hit that subscribe a button, help a brother out, hit
- 2:09Speaker 1: that like button. If you like the episode, obviously, definitely comment.
- 2:13Speaker 1: I read all the comments. A couple of people engage.
- 2:17Speaker 1: It ain't toxic, at least not yet. That's because I
- 2:19Speaker 1: don't have a lot of subscribers. But we're going to
- 2:21Speaker 1: try to keep it from being toxic in a comment section.
- 2:25Speaker 1: But it's all about expressing your opinion, you know what
- 2:27Speaker 1: I'm saying. So do that because it's most important. Because
- 2:31Speaker 1: I look at my statistics on YouTube and more than
- 2:35Speaker 1: fifty percent of the people that press play on these
- 2:39Speaker 1: episodes on these videos are not subscribers. So become a
- 2:45Speaker 1: subscriber today. And if you're like you know, I kind
- 2:49Speaker 1: of like this one. I'll check in when I feel
- 2:51Speaker 1: like it. That's cool also, but if you do like
- 2:53Speaker 1: an episode or any video of content I post here,
- 2:58Speaker 1: the best thing you could do to help a break
- 3:00Speaker 1: out is to share it with people you know, but
- 3:03Speaker 1: enjoy this kind of content. Now, big shout out to
- 3:09Speaker 1: hip HOPDX dot com. Double XL mag is back. You know,
- 3:13Speaker 1: they were tripping a couple of weeks when they were
- 3:16Speaker 1: posting stuff and I was like, Oh, which, ill post it?
- 3:18Speaker 1: But they're good. I checked it out in a couple
- 3:21Speaker 1: of places where I get some of my stories from.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Let's get right into the business. So apparently the fads
- 3:31Speaker 1: are going to auction off Dame Dash's steak and Rockefeller
- 3:38Speaker 1: Records or Rockefeller in general the company. So I don't
- 3:41Speaker 1: know if that's just Rockefeller Records and whatever else comes
- 3:45Speaker 1: with that, right, I don't know. Maybe they haven't released
- 3:48Speaker 1: any outfits yet, but who knows. Maybe Rockefeller awhere is
- 3:52Speaker 1: still or Rockaway or whatever it's called. It's still a thing.
- 3:55Speaker 1: They just don't have anything new, So whatever stake that is,
- 4:00Speaker 1: it's going to be auctioned off by the fads to
- 4:03Speaker 1: cover a eight hundred one thousand dollars debt from mister Dash.
- 4:11Speaker 1: His interest in the company is about thirty three point
- 4:17Speaker 1: three percent. The fact that that percentage would only yield
- 4:25Speaker 1: eight hundred k is surprising, but not I mean, I
- 4:33Speaker 1: don't know, it's not really that surprising to me, but
- 4:36Speaker 1: I guess it kind of is. Given Rockefeller's history of music.
- 4:41Speaker 1: One of the things, unfortunately that happens with you just
- 4:46Speaker 1: keep your raal Black labels, especially specifically in hip hop,
- 4:51Speaker 1: after their big heyday, they tend to like get devalued
- 4:56Speaker 1: like crazy, even with huge artists being apart part of
- 5:00Speaker 1: the label. Like you saw, I mean, we knew it was.
- 5:03Speaker 1: We know it's a liquidation sale now, but you saw
- 5:05Speaker 1: what Diddy was doing, giving everybody they masters because what
- 5:09Speaker 1: was it worth? But bad Boy was a movement, and unfortunately,
- 5:15Speaker 1: because of all the other stuff going on, you know,
- 5:18Speaker 1: with some of these labels and their legacy or whatever,
- 5:22Speaker 1: this music that a lot of people, certain generations cherished
- 5:27Speaker 1: doesn't really become like, I don't know, profitable for whoever
- 5:32Speaker 1: owns it because it's forgotten. H I don't know what
- 5:37Speaker 1: that was about. It gets forgotten throughout history because unfortunately,
- 5:41Speaker 1: in hip hop, we tend to move on, and especially
- 5:44Speaker 1: when you're talking about the bad Boy era, it's looked
- 5:47Speaker 1: at as if the only thing that was ever released
- 5:50Speaker 1: was you know, shiny soup music, which is not true.
- 5:56Speaker 1: But with Rockefeller, specifically jay Z's cattle log alone on Rockefeller,
- 6:04Speaker 1: I believe he owns the masters to all of his
- 6:08Speaker 1: albums on Rockefeller except one hundred percent owns all of
- 6:13Speaker 1: the masters to his albums on Rockefeller, accept reasonable doubt.
- 6:19Speaker 1: I think that one is still sort of owned by
- 6:23Speaker 1: Dame Dash. He either owns a portion or a significant
- 6:27Speaker 1: portion or all. I can't remember, but I know reasonable
- 6:30Speaker 1: doubt is the one because he teased like selling it right,
- 6:35Speaker 1: which is crazy. He probably tried to sell it to J,
- 6:37Speaker 1: probably up the price because of how rich J is
- 6:40Speaker 1: when knowing all he needed was like eight hundred k,
- 6:44Speaker 1: which is crazy. And it speaks valumes to why he's
- 6:48Speaker 1: been on tour talking about jay Z so much, because no,
- 6:53Speaker 1: we don't believe you, you need more people. I mean,
- 6:58Speaker 1: this is business. Fortunately. I just wish some of these
- 7:03Speaker 1: labels from specific generations heyday, like my own, just knew
- 7:11Speaker 1: how to really preserve the moment that was for that label, right.
- 7:18Speaker 1: I think with def Ro. Yeah, Snoop owns it now,
- 7:23Speaker 1: But it's really more about the new music on the label, right,
- 7:26Speaker 1: It's not really about like constantly doing things with the
- 7:30Speaker 1: older music. Who knows how that worked out when he
- 7:35Speaker 1: bought Defro Records. Did he just buy the name Dethro
- 7:37Speaker 1: Records or did he get the catalogs that came along
- 7:41Speaker 1: with it, or does everybody else own the cattalog Did
- 7:44Speaker 1: he get a couple of them? Who knows, But he's
- 7:48Speaker 1: really focused Snoop in particulars really focused on putting out
- 7:53Speaker 1: new music under the label Defro Records, which is dope,
- 7:57Speaker 1: okay new stuff, But Rockefeller was like splintered completely and
- 8:04Speaker 1: probably will never become what it was. With there being
- 8:09Speaker 1: an auction, will j byatt and and bring back kind
- 8:16Speaker 1: of bring back Rockefeller Records in a certain way and
- 8:19Speaker 1: relaunch with some newer artists and some familiar artists who
- 8:22Speaker 1: probably you know, need a deal like P. D. Crack
- 8:25Speaker 1: because honestly, maybe that the writings on the wall Bleak
- 8:32Speaker 1: Making Records got an album coming. He's featured on Graphs album,
- 8:36Speaker 1: which is pretty dope. You had to check out graph album.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Freeway just put out Stimulus Package two which was dope,
- 8:44Speaker 1: Uh he outside. He also on that graph song p
- 8:48Speaker 1: D Crack on I don't really like p D crack
- 8:51Speaker 1: verse on Freeway's album, but on Graphs album it's a
- 8:56Speaker 1: song called Rockefeller Chain. He back in the pocket, so
- 9:00Speaker 1: oh he back outside. Now we know Beanie Siegul doesn't
- 9:03Speaker 1: have the voice he used to unfortunately, but I know
- 9:08Speaker 1: he was looking to utilize AI in some way to
- 9:13Speaker 1: kind of still write new material but get AI to
- 9:20Speaker 1: use the quality of his voice previously. Now the only
- 9:24Speaker 1: thing with that is like, and I know this sounds crazy,
- 9:29Speaker 1: but who owns it? Because you know, sure he can
- 9:34Speaker 1: go and make new music even if his voice was fine,
- 9:38Speaker 1: But if he's gonna pull from older tracks that he
- 9:43Speaker 1: recorded for another label which will have another owner, and
- 9:47Speaker 1: he don't own those masters, then he probably can't do that.
- 9:53Speaker 1: So I don't know that. I said all that to
- 9:56Speaker 1: say that Rockefeller's back outside in many ways, and seeing
- 10:01Speaker 1: this is interesting. I'd be curious to see who buys it,
- 10:05Speaker 1: because it could be anybody. Doesn't mean it's gonna be
- 10:07Speaker 1: jay Z, but we'll see. So so LLL cool J
- 10:13Speaker 1: sat down with mister McGoo, not mister Shannon Sharp Hey, look,
- 10:21Speaker 1: I watched Nightcap all the time. I really actually prefer
- 10:25Speaker 1: it over First Take. I'm just being real. I'd rather
- 10:29Speaker 1: watch him and Chad Ocho Sinko and who is it
- 10:34Speaker 1: Agent zero? What's his name forgot uh? I'd rather watch
- 10:38Speaker 1: them talk sports than the dumb stuff on ESPN as
- 10:43Speaker 1: far as the debate shows, I watch other stuff. But
- 10:47Speaker 1: ll COOLJ was on Shannon Sharp's podcast and was asked
- 10:53Speaker 1: his top or his Mount Rushmore for Death Jam records. Now,
- 10:59Speaker 1: this back in time, we on some Mount Rushmore stuff
- 11:04Speaker 1: and people felt some kind of way, and it's like
- 11:06Speaker 1: it's like it's becoming the new List and it's still
- 11:11Speaker 1: it's just another list with a different name, Mount Rushmore
- 11:15Speaker 1: of Death Jam. Now from what I understand, well, let's say,
- 11:19Speaker 1: let me say this for those people who are getting
- 11:21Speaker 1: their news here. Apparently some people feel some kind of
- 11:24Speaker 1: way because there were several snubs to them as far
- 11:27Speaker 1: as the top guys on Death Jam. And let me
- 11:31Speaker 1: just tell you who ll listed as the top people
- 11:35Speaker 1: on Death Jam. It of course he listed himself, because
- 11:39Speaker 1: why not. He didn't go why not? Okay, so he
- 11:44Speaker 1: put ll cooolj public enemy, the Beastie Boys hold up.
- 11:51Speaker 1: This is kind of cut off for me. Hold up.
- 11:54Speaker 1: The Beastie Boys and Slick Rick right for I thank
- 12:00Speaker 1: Common did five last time. People felt some kind of
- 12:04Speaker 1: way because they like, well hold up. There's been a
- 12:07Speaker 1: couple of people over the years on death Jam, like
- 12:10Speaker 1: Method Man, jay z, DMX, Fabulous Nas. I think the
- 12:15Speaker 1: Roots was on there for a second. I think even
- 12:20Speaker 1: Kanye was on death Jam for an album or two
- 12:25Speaker 1: or whatever. Ludacris, Rihanna was a lot of people who
- 12:30Speaker 1: have been a part of Death Jam, including people in
- 12:33Speaker 1: between that were part of Death Jam. But this was
- 12:38Speaker 1: LL's thinking. The Mount Rushmore that we see, like the
- 12:45Speaker 1: actual Mount Rushmore, are more of founders, not the best presidents.
- 12:53Speaker 1: The founders, founders of this country right are on Mount Rushmore.
- 12:59Speaker 1: So to him, when you say Mount Rushmore, he's saying
- 13:03Speaker 1: those people who built the foundation of hip hop on
- 13:08Speaker 1: deaf Jam records. Now, some of you were misinformed. Some
- 13:12Speaker 1: of you was like, how could he leave out run DMC. Well,
- 13:16Speaker 1: run DMC was never on deaf Jam. Epm D was right,
- 13:23Speaker 1: but run DMC never was on Death Jam. They were
- 13:27Speaker 1: on profile records, but they were manage by rush management,
- 13:31Speaker 1: which is you know, you know Russell Simmons, right, that
- 13:35Speaker 1: was his management who is Run's brother. So they were
- 13:39Speaker 1: never on Depth Jam. Just watch Krush School. But you
- 13:45Speaker 1: know they they they shouldn't be considered in this list.
- 13:48Speaker 1: So what L was saying, I don't have no problem
- 13:52Speaker 1: with his list because when you think about the founders
- 13:56Speaker 1: of the death Jam sound and legacy, it's not none
- 14:01Speaker 1: of the new people, it's l Beastie Boys, Public Enemy
- 14:08Speaker 1: and slick Rick hands down built it right, built what
- 14:13Speaker 1: it was. And I know what slick Rick it was like.
- 14:16Speaker 1: He had that one classic album which is right behind
- 14:19Speaker 1: me if you're watching the video, and you know a
- 14:23Speaker 1: group like EPMD that came out in the late eighties
- 14:26Speaker 1: also had had several albums. EPMD will never had never
- 14:31Speaker 1: had the impact that slick Rick had with one album.
- 14:35Speaker 1: And I love EPMD, but they didn't have that same
- 14:40Speaker 1: impact as far as influence and for death Jam early on,
- 14:45Speaker 1: slick Rick was a beast right, So I agree with that. Now,
- 14:50Speaker 1: if we just talking some of the biggest artists on
- 14:55Speaker 1: death Chat, that list would look bigger to me. Right,
- 15:03Speaker 1: LL has to stay there because I mean the longevity
- 15:06Speaker 1: ten straight platinum albums. I'm sorry, several decades in the game,
- 15:14Speaker 1: ll has to be there, right, But sodas jay Z
- 15:19Speaker 1: now Reasonable Doubt, children who don't know, and some of
- 15:22Speaker 1: y'all old folk who forgot, some of y'all old heads forgot.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Reasonable Doubt wasn't originally on Death Jam. It was on
- 15:32Speaker 1: I think that was on Priority. I think it was
- 15:35Speaker 1: on Priority and another label. And I don't have the
- 15:37Speaker 1: CD in front of me because I have the original CD.
- 15:40Speaker 1: When Reasonable Doubt first dropped, those who went and bought
- 15:44Speaker 1: it in the record store bought it and it did
- 15:46Speaker 1: not it wasn't on Death Jam. So then say death
- 15:49Speaker 1: Jam on the back and the CD. The picture of
- 15:51Speaker 1: the CD was different, right, It was a picture of
- 15:54Speaker 1: the ground with like a little done on it or whatever. Right,
- 15:58Speaker 1: that's the original release for a Reasonable Doubt. Then I
- 16:02Speaker 1: think maybe a year later when they made their got
- 16:06Speaker 1: their Death Jam deal, that's when they kind of changed
- 16:10Speaker 1: up some of the artwork, and you know, obviously they
- 16:13Speaker 1: put Death Jam on it, and they added some bonus
- 16:17Speaker 1: songs like Can I Live Part Two? Right? Wait? Was
- 16:21Speaker 1: yeah can I Live? Part Two? Which is slapped on you.
- 16:23Speaker 1: I'll be sleeping on that record, that record by it
- 16:26Speaker 1: with Bleak on it. But with that being said, like
- 16:31Speaker 1: it was just crazy to think, oh well, let's just
- 16:37Speaker 1: go back to the list because I'm stolen a little bit.
- 16:40Speaker 1: I don't think now it should be on Death Jam
- 16:44Speaker 1: a Mount Rushmore, this Mount Rushmore that I'm talking about,
- 16:47Speaker 1: only because a lot of his best work was off
- 16:52Speaker 1: Death Jam, right with Colombia, right, like yo Ill Madic
- 16:56Speaker 1: is not on Depth Jam. It was written, is not
- 16:58Speaker 1: on Depth Jam. It's not all right. So to me,
- 17:04Speaker 1: you could say LL, you can say DMX, you could
- 17:09Speaker 1: say jay Z. I think you definitely got to say
- 17:14Speaker 1: Public Enemy because of their legacy on there. And then
- 17:18Speaker 1: that fifth spot becomes a little murky because it might
- 17:24Speaker 1: be Kanye. And this is like by way of Rockefeller Records,
- 17:31Speaker 1: Like we know he was on Rockefeller Records, but you
- 17:34Speaker 1: know which was a subsidiary of Death Jam records, right,
- 17:38Speaker 1: so by way of that, it wasn't straight up death
- 17:40Speaker 1: Jam artists. So I don't know, it gets kind of
- 17:44Speaker 1: mixed up or whatever. And you know, the BC Boys
- 17:46Speaker 1: was huge and stuff like that. But for what LL
- 17:50Speaker 1: meant as far as what Mount Rushmore is, Mount Rushmore,
- 17:54Speaker 1: like it ain't the best presidents up there. It ain't like,
- 17:56Speaker 1: oh yeah, Obama up there now. No, the founders of
- 18:01Speaker 1: this country, right, I ain't gonna get political almost there.
- 18:07Speaker 1: That's what the deaf jam Mount Rushmore should be. So
- 18:09Speaker 1: if you're talking about the founders, the ones who built it,
- 18:13Speaker 1: L L. Slick Rick, Beastie Boys, public enemy is on
- 18:18Speaker 1: point and should not be argued. And last night, so
- 18:25Speaker 1: earlier this week, if you're from the future, you already
- 18:27Speaker 1: know what happened. Man, come on, get out of here,
- 18:28Speaker 1: get your ass out of here. You already know what happened.
- 18:31Speaker 1: But earlier this week, before I did this podcast, I
- 18:35Speaker 1: saw a tweet from Killer Mike like, Yo, new album
- 18:39Speaker 1: dropping Friday called Songs for Sinners and Saints by Michael
- 18:48Speaker 1: in the Might Midnight Revival, Michael being Killer Mike. And
- 18:54Speaker 1: I was like, wow, And it's almost like a follow
- 18:57Speaker 1: up to me the best album of twenty twenty three,
- 19:01Speaker 1: Best hip Hop album Michael from last year. It's like
- 19:05Speaker 1: a follow up. So I was say, Okay, well, on Friday,
- 19:08Speaker 1: I know what's the first album I'm going to listen to.
- 19:12Speaker 1: But then, because I'm subscribed to the email for Run
- 19:16Speaker 1: the Jews and a couple other promotional companies that send
- 19:21Speaker 1: me stuff. Right the email, I get an email from
- 19:26Speaker 1: the Run the Jews email from a message from Killer
- 19:29Speaker 1: Mike saying, you know what, for forty eight hours this
- 19:34Speaker 1: album is free and dropping early. And I'm like, oh well,
- 19:39Speaker 1: let me get my free copy. So I downloaded, shared
- 19:43Speaker 1: it with a couple of homies. I'm saying, not too many,
- 19:46Speaker 1: but it's just a couple, you know, and I was like, cool.
- 19:49Speaker 1: You know, I'm gonna listen to it and see what
- 19:51Speaker 1: I think. So those who know when I do these
- 19:55Speaker 1: reviews or reactions or whatever. Three listens. First, listen my impressions.
- 20:01Speaker 1: You know, it's all about impressions. How does this thing sound?
- 20:04Speaker 1: Second listen, I just listen more intently to the concepts,
- 20:08Speaker 1: to the lyrics, to the beats, to the overall presentation.
- 20:12Speaker 1: And the third listen is just to confirm my thoughts
- 20:16Speaker 1: on what I heard. And for those who need quick reviews,
- 20:23Speaker 1: is it better than Michael? Is it on part with Michael? No?
- 20:29Speaker 1: But is it a good album? It is? Is it
- 20:33Speaker 1: a good follow up or like a bonus based off
- 20:39Speaker 1: an album that was released last year? I think it's
- 20:41Speaker 1: more of that, and I'll tell you why. The song
- 20:45Speaker 1: I mean, the album comes with about ten tracks, which
- 20:48Speaker 1: is fine with me, thirty nine minutes in length. Find
- 20:53Speaker 1: with Me. Features include a lot of singers of it. Obviously,
- 20:58Speaker 1: when you hear revival like Anthony Hamilton and rappers, is
- 21:02Speaker 1: like offsets on here, A couple of people are on here, right,
- 21:06Speaker 1: Key Glock Project, pats on here, it's Kurk Franklin on here.
- 21:11Speaker 1: I think, so, I don't know, but with that being said,
- 21:16Speaker 1: you know, I was like, hmm, okay, this is a
- 21:21Speaker 1: nice quick listen, and I'm assuming if he's gonna tether
- 21:25Speaker 1: it to the album that got him a Grammy, then
- 21:30Speaker 1: this just better be good. And I think it is good.
- 21:33Speaker 1: And I think it's a perfect extension in concept to
- 21:38Speaker 1: what we heard last year, but probably leaning more towards
- 21:43Speaker 1: the gospel or let me just say, spiritual side of things.
- 21:47Speaker 1: So it's not like a gospel rap album by any means.
- 21:50Speaker 1: It's a lot like Michael lyrically, as far as Killer
- 21:55Speaker 1: Mike telling you about himself, his upbringing, his roots, and
- 22:02Speaker 1: the things that go through his mind, not even went
- 22:04Speaker 1: through his mind back then, but also today. So lyrically
- 22:09Speaker 1: it's right on par with Michael because Killer Mike just
- 22:13Speaker 1: has a knack for being extremely relatable and really conveying
- 22:20Speaker 1: his feelings through his flows and his lyrics. So it's
- 22:24Speaker 1: really compelling from that standpoint. If you like Michael and
- 22:28Speaker 1: you like the content as far as lyrically, this is
- 22:32Speaker 1: just more of that which is dope. Production Wise, I
- 22:36Speaker 1: think quality wise is on par with Michael for sure,
- 22:39Speaker 1: but I think some of the beats are hit or miss.
- 22:43Speaker 1: I don't think any of the beats will whack at all.
- 22:46Speaker 1: I just think there are some tracks where I'd really
- 22:50Speaker 1: get into it because of the production, Like for example,
- 22:54Speaker 1: after the intro, there's a song called Nobody Knows, and
- 22:59Speaker 1: it's just the energy behind that track and along with
- 23:02Speaker 1: the quality, because the quality is on point, it just
- 23:06Speaker 1: gets you in the mood for this album. That's one
- 23:09Speaker 1: of the things that this is one of the reasons
- 23:12Speaker 1: why Killer Mike's album was granted a Grammy and albums
- 23:16Speaker 1: like that, because there's something to be said about care
- 23:21Speaker 1: when it comes to your projects, right, like thinking about
- 23:25Speaker 1: the listener. Okay, here's an intro, right, what do we
- 23:28Speaker 1: want the intro to say to the listener before we
- 23:30Speaker 1: set them up? How do we want to set the
- 23:34Speaker 1: tone for the first record. They hear right, and I
- 23:37Speaker 1: think between the intro and the first song, which is
- 23:41Speaker 1: nobody knows, I think they set you up lovely for
- 23:45Speaker 1: what the journey is going to be. I just don't
- 23:48Speaker 1: think it's as good as Michael, and it doesn't have
- 23:51Speaker 1: to be as good, but I think it's a perfect
- 23:56Speaker 1: companion piece. If you never heard the Michael album Killer Mike,
- 24:00Speaker 1: and you go listen, you like, y'all love it. I
- 24:02Speaker 1: kind of like this, dude, what else he got? Go
- 24:05Speaker 1: listen to this because I think it's a great follow up.
- 24:08Speaker 1: Is it gonna be in my top five of the year,
- 24:11Speaker 1: but nah, that top five is getting very competitive right
- 24:14Speaker 1: now at this point best of the year, it's in
- 24:18Speaker 1: heavy consideration because again that list I presented of the
- 24:24Speaker 1: so far right best of the year so far, it's
- 24:28Speaker 1: all upside down now. Too many people releasing dope records.
- 24:33Speaker 1: So definitely go check out Killer Mike's new album, Songs
- 24:37Speaker 1: for Sinners and Saints and also a quick bonus, even
- 24:40Speaker 1: though I'm not gonna review it here. If you just
- 24:43Speaker 1: want some hip hop and some bars, and there's plenty
- 24:46Speaker 1: of those albums that have dropped. One that I just
- 24:49Speaker 1: recently listened to one time so far, but it's probably
- 24:53Speaker 1: about to go on heavy rotations. This new album from Graph,
- 24:58Speaker 1: I'm just just just look it up now I know this.
- 25:01Speaker 1: Somebody was like, oh, g r A p H. Now
- 25:05Speaker 1: it's hip hop is spelled differently, is g r A
- 25:09Speaker 1: what is it? FH? Yeah, like Graph whatever, But definitely
- 25:16Speaker 1: check that one out. That's the album that contains the
- 25:19Speaker 1: posse cut with a couple of former Rockefeller Records label
- 25:25Speaker 1: mates because Graph was on Rockefeller unfortunately at the moment
- 25:30Speaker 1: they broke, so he never really got to, you know,
- 25:34Speaker 1: release anything worthy of kind of like p D Crack
- 25:38Speaker 1: Graph and the unfortunate death of Big Al like that.
- 25:44Speaker 1: Rockefeller roster lyrically was about to get crazy. But this
- 25:48Speaker 1: album is really dope, So you just check it out.
- 25:51Speaker 1: That's gonna do it for me. What do you think
- 25:54Speaker 1: about Killer Mike's new album? Do you like it? Or
- 25:56Speaker 1: your a fan of Killer Mike? Do you want something different?
- 25:59Speaker 1: Honestly like this, but I could take a new run
- 26:02Speaker 1: Jews to be honest, I could really take one of those.
