- 0:01Speaker 1: I'll start Toyota Presents off the Bench with Jacob Hester
- 0:04Speaker 1: and Matt Flynn.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Say Hester and Hester.
- 0:07Speaker 1: From carrying each other to and Natty to carrying each
- 0:12Speaker 1: other on the air Control live from the Mercedes Benz
- 0:19Speaker 1: Baton Rouge Studio.
- 0:21Speaker 3: It's off the bench.
- 0:41Speaker 4: Run back in OTB hour number three, number three. Already
- 0:47Speaker 4: already look at that time flies when you're having fun
- 0:50Speaker 4: talking ball. This has been a fun show. Every day's fine.
- 0:55Speaker 4: I'm about saying it in particular. You said it like
- 0:57Speaker 4: it didn't happen.
- 0:59Speaker 5: First hour. Yeah, good energy early, great energy.
- 1:06Speaker 4: So how about that? This feels like a very OTB article.
- 1:10Speaker 4: ESPN put out the anticipated arch villains for every top
- 1:16Speaker 4: twenty five college.
- 1:17Speaker 6: Football ooh, yes, I love this.
- 1:19Speaker 4: Yes, and so it's every So they you know, they
- 1:22Speaker 4: make their way too early top twenty five. Yeah, right,
- 1:25Speaker 4: So that's what they're going off of with those twenty
- 1:28Speaker 4: five teams. They put them together and they gave them.
- 1:32Speaker 4: Each team has who could be they're like just nemesis,
- 1:37Speaker 4: like the villain to what they want to get done.
- 1:41Speaker 4: So I'll give you an example here. Number one team
- 1:43Speaker 4: in the country, Penn State. Ryan Day makes a lot
- 1:48Speaker 4: of sense. Penn State's won a lot of games, they
- 1:50Speaker 4: can't beat Ohio State. They can't win the big one.
- 1:52Speaker 4: So it could be Ryan Day. I'll give you example
- 1:55Speaker 4: for number two, the Clemson Tigers. Leonora Sellers went all
- 2:00Speaker 4: on them last year. He kind of won the game
- 2:02Speaker 4: by himself. I mean, he took the game over k
- 2:05Speaker 4: club Nick. Clemson could do nothing. So that's who it
- 2:08Speaker 4: is for Clemson, For Texas, it's Oklahoma. For Georgia, it's Alabama.
- 2:14Speaker 4: For Ohio State, you might't take guests it's Michigan, but
- 2:19Speaker 4: it's true more Yeah. Yeah, it's the one person that
- 2:22Speaker 4: can really mess things up, you know, because Michigan certainly
- 2:26Speaker 4: has over the last couple of years. Although sty won
- 2:28Speaker 4: a national title, they couldn't beat Michigan. Then we get
- 2:32Speaker 4: to number six. I don't think anybody's going to get
- 2:37Speaker 4: this one for LSU, but anybody want to take a guess. Remember,
- 2:42Speaker 4: it can be like a coach, a person, a thing
- 2:45Speaker 4: like it can be almost anything, like what their nemesis
- 2:48Speaker 4: is going to be. It was last year, God tackle
- 2:54Speaker 4: that guy.
- 2:55Speaker 5: I got a guess.
- 3:00Speaker 4: Season opener that Brian Kelly is not it, but that's
- 3:04Speaker 4: really good. Should be your brain's working today.
- 3:07Speaker 5: That should be the answer.
- 3:10Speaker 7: I'll go a little outside the box, and you said
- 3:11Speaker 7: we probably wouldn't get it. Go Oklahoma, last game of
- 3:14Speaker 7: the year.
- 3:17Speaker 4: The arch villain for the l Shoe Tigers in twenty
- 3:19Speaker 4: twenty five daytime home games, I mean yes, it's as
- 3:24Speaker 4: LSU fans have been known to curse day games, especially
- 3:29Speaker 4: in the sweltering September heat, it's at night when Tiger
- 3:32Speaker 4: Stadium and typically lshu's football team shines. In twenty twenty five,
- 3:37Speaker 4: the only SEC home game that LSUE will definitely play
- 3:40Speaker 4: at night is the league opener against Florida on September
- 3:43Speaker 4: the thirteenth. Home games against South Carolina and Texas A
- 3:47Speaker 4: and M fall into the flex window, meaning they could
- 3:50Speaker 4: start as early as three thirty pm Eastern time, two
- 3:54Speaker 4: thirty Local time, or as late as eight pm Eastern
- 3:57Speaker 4: seven pm Local. Since two thousand, LSU is one, twelve
- 4:02Speaker 4: and fifteen and Saturday night home games at Tiger Stadium.
- 4:06Speaker 4: Brian Kelly has faced just two nationally ranked SEC opponents
- 4:09Speaker 4: in day games at Tiger Stadium and is one and
- 4:12Speaker 4: one in those games. I know the loss was Tennessee.
- 4:16Speaker 8: Who was the win Texas A and M two years ago,
- 4:19Speaker 8: Jayden's last James Escape Rass regular season game. I remember
- 4:22Speaker 8: because I was driving over from Texas. We woke up
- 4:24Speaker 8: early as hell and we're list.
- 4:25Speaker 4: So that could it says for LSUE, not a player,
- 4:28Speaker 4: not a coach, not a program, daytime home games could
- 4:32Speaker 4: be the villain.
- 4:34Speaker 7: For LSU's So that's creative.
- 4:35Speaker 8: If you go back like the last ten to fifteen years, she's.
- 4:39Speaker 7: Really good at eleven AM at home record wise.
- 4:42Speaker 5: Because usually you're not playing very good teams. Well they
- 4:45Speaker 5: That's why I remember that Georgia game eight eighteen. That
- 4:49Speaker 5: was that was It was like first like Mark Auburn
- 4:53Speaker 5: game seven seventeen.
- 4:55Speaker 4: Yeah, that might be my favorite.
- 4:58Speaker 8: It's top three favorite non playing at LSU moment.
- 5:03Speaker 4: We had our ten year reunion as well, so we
- 5:05Speaker 4: were all there. It was hot as the Devil's layer.
- 5:09Speaker 4: I was sitting like up it was the time when
- 5:11Speaker 4: you can I forget it was Skyline or something. It
- 5:14Speaker 4: was the only place that served alcohol at the time.
- 5:16Speaker 4: So we sat up there. We're enjoying ourselves. I wasn't
- 5:18Speaker 4: working the game, and I remember watching DJ Chark his
- 5:21Speaker 4: punt return come together before it happened because it's like
- 5:24Speaker 4: we were watching the end zone copy of film from
- 5:27Speaker 4: where we were sitting. It was like one of those
- 5:29Speaker 4: who start hitting the people next to you because you
- 5:30Speaker 4: see it happening. You can't really get a word out.
- 5:32Speaker 4: It's just like you're so excited and then they come back.
- 5:35Speaker 4: I mean you hit the Von Sullivan on like.
- 5:37Speaker 5: The jet sweep, the jet sweep. And it was our
- 5:46Speaker 5: ten year seven reunion. That was our reunion game.
- 5:50Speaker 4: Did it at halftime and then we were captains for
- 5:52Speaker 4: that right.
- 5:56Speaker 5: My wife was nine months pregnant.
- 6:00Speaker 4: That stadium is so cold, so cold, so.
- 6:03Speaker 5: I had to have like, yeah, it was situations you
- 6:07Speaker 5: didn't know it might have happened. A good story would
- 6:11Speaker 5: like I had to get you know, you get it
- 6:13Speaker 5: sometimes you get if you don't want to go do
- 6:15Speaker 5: the parking thing, you get someone to like a like
- 6:18Speaker 5: an uber or a black car or something like, get
- 6:20Speaker 5: someone to drive you to the game or pick up.
- 6:22Speaker 5: I had to get one just like you stand by,
- 6:23Speaker 5: just like if I had to buzz out of there quick.
- 6:27Speaker 5: I didn't want to have to walk with my night
- 6:29Speaker 5: prayed of wife to fifteen or whatever.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Can you imagine if you had to walk to like
- 6:38Speaker 2: a far ass parking lot.
- 6:39Speaker 4: Could you imagine the having your baby in Tiger Stadium?
- 6:41Speaker 4: That would be pretty awesome.
- 6:44Speaker 6: You would have to name your kid Tiger.
- 6:45Speaker 4: There's so on the field, just like Simba. There's well,
- 6:51Speaker 4: I mean there's a lot of medical personnel there.
- 6:53Speaker 5: I think it would be a doctor. It wouldn't be
- 6:55Speaker 5: the worst place.
- 6:57Speaker 4: Em Like they got everything there.
- 7:00Speaker 5: Yeah, like training rooms.
- 7:02Speaker 4: Training rooms actually fuels like a miss opportunity. It's actually
- 7:06Speaker 4: looking back on it, I'll go my favorite though, my
- 7:09Speaker 4: favorite LSU football moment where I wasn't a player twenty
- 7:15Speaker 4: nineteen Florida. That was incredible.
- 7:20Speaker 8: That's kind of the game. You kind of knew LSU
- 7:23Speaker 8: was gonna do it. Yeah, after they win that game,
- 7:26Speaker 8: Florida was incredible. They they come back, they went by
- 7:28Speaker 8: two touchdowns. That's kind of the game. You could feel it,
- 7:31Speaker 8: at least for.
- 7:32Speaker 4: Me LSU fans doing the Gator chomp.
- 7:36Speaker 6: I loved that.
- 7:37Speaker 5: That's good. Top three as a non player would be
- 7:41Speaker 5: seventeen Auburn YEP. This past year Ole miss I was good,
- 7:46Speaker 5: and then Bama was twenty two. I can't remember twenty
- 7:49Speaker 5: oh that was good too. Wow, that's yeah, the last two.
- 7:52Speaker 5: So Bama.
- 7:53Speaker 4: My whole miss that one together.
- 7:54Speaker 5: The whole fan was there. And I remember my kids.
- 7:58Speaker 5: We were at the Bama game. A little girl, my
- 8:02Speaker 5: second born, she was four three or four and dead
- 8:08Speaker 5: asleep in the end of the fourth quarter, even when
- 8:12Speaker 5: and in overtime, dead asleep, never woke up. And that
- 8:14Speaker 5: place erupted. And we were sitting in the bowl like
- 8:16Speaker 5: we weren't inside or anything. We were sitting in the
- 8:18Speaker 5: middle in the thick of it.
- 8:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:20Speaker 5: Wow, I was like, wow, this this girl has my jeans. Yeah,
- 8:23Speaker 5: she can sleep do anything right.
- 8:25Speaker 4: Yeah, that's so funny.
- 8:27Speaker 6: Just knocked out, knocked out.
- 8:29Speaker 4: Yeah, that's some good ones. That's that's a good called
- 8:31Speaker 4: Florida in twenty twenty three where Jayden took the game over,
- 8:36Speaker 4: that was awesome.
- 8:36Speaker 7: Had the fifty one yard seventy five.
- 8:39Speaker 4: Yard whatever it was. They watched this, I'm gonna go
- 8:43Speaker 4: out run all the Florida games.
- 8:45Speaker 7: And that was. That was kind of the flag.
- 8:47Speaker 8: That was kind of the game where Jayden took the
- 8:50Speaker 8: lead in the Heisman like that was.
- 8:52Speaker 7: That was that game.
- 8:55Speaker 4: What might keep coming back to Florida. I don't know
- 8:56Speaker 4: what that is. It's weird.
- 8:57Speaker 5: It's like a something. It was just a good game.
- 9:00Speaker 5: A quick update seeing squirrels. Yeah, Tour de France.
- 9:04Speaker 6: Yes, what's going on?
- 9:06Speaker 5: All right? Stage six? Right now? So today today back
- 9:09Speaker 5: in his comfortable color. Today's back in the yellow. After
- 9:13Speaker 5: the time trials. You say when rimco Evanapool the world champion,
- 9:17Speaker 5: he won the.
- 9:20Speaker 6: Yeah, you don't know him.
- 9:22Speaker 5: But all right, stage six today, I don't know. That's
- 9:25Speaker 5: what we should all be cheering right now. Because there
- 9:28Speaker 5: is a man named Quinn Simmons. He's got to be
- 9:32Speaker 5: he is a man, and he is an American. Yeah, okay,
- 9:35Speaker 5: he's not an American, can't. He's an American. Can Because
- 9:38Speaker 5: there is a leader. There's a breakaway group right now
- 9:41Speaker 5: that has been riding all day. They broke away early.
- 9:44Speaker 5: There's eight riders leading the pack. The peloton almost four
- 9:49Speaker 5: minutes behind them with twenty nine miles left. So if
- 9:53Speaker 5: that peloton wants to catch them, which I don't know
- 9:55Speaker 5: if they will because usually a lot of people in
- 9:57Speaker 5: the breakaway are not like real threats to the you
- 10:00Speaker 5: see guys, the leaders. If they want to catch him,
- 10:02Speaker 5: they might be able to depending on how strong. But
- 10:05Speaker 5: eight people in this breakaway is a pretty good sized group.
- 10:07Speaker 5: It's better than having like two or three because they
- 10:09Speaker 5: can all take their turns at the front and then
- 10:12Speaker 5: getting drafted so they can all save their energy. Let's
- 10:15Speaker 5: hope this breakaway stays away. This will be the first
- 10:17Speaker 5: breakaway to make it this year in the tour. And
- 10:20Speaker 5: this man is alleged Twinn Simmons. He's got a mullet,
- 10:25Speaker 5: he's got a foo man chew. I'm reading an article
- 10:27Speaker 5: here that says that as bikers because why Americans aren't
- 10:31Speaker 5: into it because they're not entertainers enough. So this guy,
- 10:34Speaker 5: he's bringing that entertainment to cycling. I don't know if
- 10:37Speaker 5: he's the best American, I don't know. But he's wearing
- 10:39Speaker 5: the stars and stripes on his uniform. How many people
- 10:42Speaker 5: do that? Look at that man, Look at this one.
- 10:47Speaker 5: A beautiful ginger mullet, and he's in the breakaway. So
- 10:51Speaker 5: we're gonna be cheering him on twenty eight point nine
- 10:53Speaker 5: miles away, almost four minutes ahead of the peloton.
- 10:56Speaker 4: Let's go look at this pic.
- 10:57Speaker 8: I will say, Jake, like, if we had to pull
- 10:59Speaker 8: look at this, we had to put cyclist.
- 11:01Speaker 7: This guy's him, this is him.
- 11:03Speaker 5: He is him. He is swaged swag. So Quinn Simmons,
- 11:15Speaker 5: you're talking to me.
- 11:16Speaker 8: I don't know what intrigues me more Flynn's relentless effort
- 11:20Speaker 8: to get Tour de France Tolkien, in facted like a
- 11:23Speaker 8: launder is getting into it.
- 11:24Speaker 7: I don't know which boy.
- 11:25Speaker 5: There we go?
- 11:26Speaker 7: Which one.
- 11:29Speaker 6: I'm a curious person.
- 11:30Speaker 4: When did when did this start?
- 11:32Speaker 5: For you?
- 11:32Speaker 4: Okay, because I can't imagine that the tour was real
- 11:36Speaker 4: big in Tyler, Texas.
- 11:37Speaker 5: No, Okay, So when my wife and I started dating her,
- 11:42Speaker 5: her dad was into it. Uh, they had been France
- 11:45Speaker 5: a couple of times. I think they had. Actually they
- 11:46Speaker 5: took a trip to go watch a couple of the stages,
- 11:48Speaker 5: don't He liked the cycle, and so I was like,
- 11:51Speaker 5: I was kind of like you. I was like, I'm
- 11:53Speaker 5: too gritty for this is dumb. Yeah, but I would
- 11:57Speaker 5: watch it. I would sit there and watch it with them,
- 11:59Speaker 5: and then I was like, wait, what are they doing
- 12:01Speaker 5: right there? Tell me a little bit of the strategy,
- 12:05Speaker 5: and then I don't know, just started getting locked in.
- 12:08Speaker 5: Then Lance came back a couple of years after I
- 12:11Speaker 5: started watching it, and so that was like must watch TV.
- 12:13Speaker 4: You're sitting there. Journey I didn't do when he came back.
- 12:15Speaker 5: Not great.
- 12:16Speaker 6: Not great because he wasn't on steroids.
- 12:19Speaker 5: Well okay, everybody's doing it all right.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Yeah, no, it's like, yeah, I think that MLB should
- 12:26Speaker 2: let people start doing steroids again.
- 12:28Speaker 5: We agree.
- 12:28Speaker 8: I think military members should do steroids. Think about how
- 12:33Speaker 8: badass they would be.
- 12:36Speaker 4: Yes, yes, super serum Yeah a lot true. What if
- 12:43Speaker 4: we just had a professional baseball league where they could
- 12:48Speaker 4: juice and use metal bats we've talked about.
- 12:50Speaker 6: I would, I would. I want a lot of money
- 12:52Speaker 6: to watch that. It would do infinitely better than the
- 12:55Speaker 6: MLB in its.
- 12:56Speaker 5: Coat those week people play with wooden bats.
- 13:00Speaker 8: Everybody but Hunt Palmer would be about that, would say
- 13:03Speaker 8: it's destroying the major leagues.
- 13:05Speaker 7: Everybody else would be all about it.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it made the MLB was at its
- 13:10Speaker 2: peak when people.
- 13:11Speaker 6: Were doing steroids. So no, I don't think it would
- 13:13Speaker 6: mess with MLB.
- 13:15Speaker 5: It would definitely be the Abu Dabi people that would
- 13:18Speaker 5: start that league, for sure.
- 13:20Speaker 4: Can you can you imagine nineteen ninety one jose Cansenko
- 13:25Speaker 4: with a metal bat.
- 13:27Speaker 6: That would be insane, like talk about nukes.
- 13:31Speaker 5: I wouldn't want to be a picture in that league.
- 13:34Speaker 4: No, you'd have to weary like.
- 13:37Speaker 5: Everyone. You'd put the over under at zero point five
- 13:41Speaker 5: on how many pictures die that season? Just kidding dies
- 13:46Speaker 5: dead the count.
- 13:50Speaker 4: Have about saying the military.
- 13:54Speaker 7: Think about it, thoughts.
- 13:57Speaker 5: You have an entire platoon.
- 14:00Speaker 8: Okay, if like the Marines, the front line guys, they
- 14:03Speaker 8: go in and when their weapons are done, don't beat
- 14:05Speaker 8: your ass because they're jacked up on steroids.
- 14:07Speaker 7: Like that seems also steroids they don't.
- 14:10Speaker 4: There's some pretty big side effects from steroids as well,
- 14:13Speaker 4: you know, yeah, like.
- 14:15Speaker 7: Makes you chill.
- 14:18Speaker 8: Were not heard about that part, but like, okay you
- 14:20Speaker 8: have aggression, kind of want that.
- 14:23Speaker 6: Again, Okay, Marines don't need them.
- 14:27Speaker 7: Anybody, everybody could use more, guys, everybody.
- 14:33Speaker 5: There's I think they're safer things to do out there.
- 14:35Speaker 5: They're safer peds then, just like you know, taking windstraw
- 14:39Speaker 5: on the bunch wind straw. I heard that.
- 14:45Speaker 4: Oh all right.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Well maybe like another bad side effect of steroids is
- 14:53Speaker 2: like murdering your entire family and killing yourself.
- 14:58Speaker 5: Yeah, crisp Our three, pretty dark, you're on off the bench.
- 15:06Speaker 4: Uh yeah, I mean I was gonna do you know,
- 15:10Speaker 4: I was gonna do a read here, but I think
- 15:12Speaker 4: we'll wait. Uh that. I can't believe you're honestly watching.
- 15:20Speaker 5: I've watched it every day this week and on Thursdays
- 15:22Speaker 5: when you can't believe it. This is good stuff, I.
- 15:25Speaker 4: Mean, but like you had this iPad, it's a little intriguing.
- 15:30Speaker 5: It is so intriguing.
- 15:32Speaker 4: I'm not even like hating. I'm really not hating on it.
- 15:34Speaker 4: But it's just like I've never found my way to
- 15:38Speaker 4: cycling before. It's just not.
- 15:40Speaker 5: Well in all fairs. I don't watch any other people
- 15:43Speaker 5: on bikes ride throughout the year. This is the one
- 15:46Speaker 5: that intrigues me.
- 15:47Speaker 4: What's the other big tours? Do we know?
- 15:49Speaker 5: They got the Tour de Italia?
- 15:51Speaker 4: Okay, it makes sense in the USA.
- 15:54Speaker 5: I don't know if it's a Grand Tour whatever, whatever.
- 15:58Speaker 5: I don't know. I don't think the top dogs from
- 16:00Speaker 5: Europe come to America.
- 16:02Speaker 4: Oh wow, so we're kind of triple a kind of.
- 16:05Speaker 4: But for a long time we dominated one guy.
- 16:08Speaker 5: Yeah, but that's why they That's why it was so awesome.
- 16:12Speaker 5: So we're looking. That's why I brought up the American
- 16:14Speaker 5: that's in the breakaway, Like for an American to win
- 16:16Speaker 5: a stage is a big deal for Let's go America.
- 16:19Speaker 5: Let's go Quinn, Let's go do it for your country.
- 16:23Speaker 6: We almost d Matao almost win on.
- 16:26Speaker 5: Yeah, he was up there, He was up there. Matato
- 16:28Speaker 5: is one of the top riders, but he's but he
- 16:31Speaker 5: is on one of the top teams as one of
- 16:34Speaker 5: the guys that is like, yeah, basically a lead blocker.
- 16:37Speaker 5: Yeah for Jonas.
- 16:39Speaker 4: All right, let's take a break more O t B
- 16:41Speaker 4: when we come back here on one of four five
- 16:43Speaker 4: ESPN pan rouge off the bench. Well, if you're sitting
- 16:48Speaker 4: there watching the tour and you got your feet kicked up,
- 16:50Speaker 4: you can enjoy it with a ice cold dose Sekis.
- 16:53Speaker 4: You can go for dose while you're watching it. I
- 16:56Speaker 4: would probably need to go for dose while watching that,
- 16:58Speaker 4: but you can enjoy it as well. It is never
- 17:00Speaker 4: a bad time to grab a nice cold do sechis.
- 17:04Speaker 4: Now is actually the perfect time. Beach beer, pull beer,
- 17:07Speaker 4: lake beer. Everything is better with the do Sekis in
- 17:11Speaker 4: your hands. So go ahead, grab one today, drink responsibly
- 17:15Speaker 4: and go for dose.
- 17:16Speaker 5: We're just talking about pds things that make you good
- 17:19Speaker 5: at you know, normal sports, football, basketball, But like you
- 17:23Speaker 5: ever had a couple of beers like a PD for
- 17:26Speaker 5: full table dartboard, bar games, anything like that. If you're
- 17:30Speaker 5: gonna do that, dose sekis is your call. Go for dose.
- 17:33Speaker 5: Get that beautiful Mexican logger, the amber, whatever it is.
- 17:38Speaker 5: Cut you some cold limes. Go for dose. Get to
- 17:41Speaker 5: your store, get to the gas station, the grocery store,
- 17:43Speaker 5: wherever you go. Wherever you shop, pick it up for
- 17:45Speaker 5: the weekend. Go for dose.

- 19:22Speaker 1: Get ready to santaalize your taste buds and leave this
- 19:25Speaker 1: segment hungry. This is Munchies with Executive chef Michael Johnson.
- 19:30Speaker 4: All right, chef, what's going on? How are we doing
- 19:32Speaker 4: this week?
- 19:33Speaker 2: Well?
- 19:34Speaker 9: Good was how was y'all? Force?
- 19:36Speaker 4: It was great? It was good, you know, celebrated like
- 19:38Speaker 4: any good red blooded American, shot fireworks, illegally shot fireworks
- 19:44Speaker 4: because you can't do them in ABR but we did that.
- 19:46Speaker 4: Had some hamburgers, you know, homemade hamburgers, which is always
- 19:49Speaker 4: my favorite. So it was good.
- 19:50Speaker 9: What about you? You know, I am a world class floater,
- 19:55Speaker 9: so I floated in this and pled have been for
- 19:59Speaker 9: quite a bit.
- 20:00Speaker 4: Award winning well done, well done? Yeah, all right, go ahead.
- 20:06Speaker 5: I got a question when you do like a trip
- 20:08Speaker 5: like that, when it's when it's relaxed, time yeah, does
- 20:11Speaker 5: somebody cook for you? Uh?
- 20:13Speaker 9: So, you know, like when we go to Toledo Ben,
- 20:15Speaker 9: my buddy, Parker's daddy, he cooks quite a bit, but
- 20:19Speaker 9: we we kind of share the effort because a lot
- 20:21Speaker 9: of the family shows up and usually, you know, like
- 20:24Speaker 9: Parker and I will cook and then and then his
- 20:26Speaker 9: daddy will cook, and then we'll cook. And so we
- 20:29Speaker 9: we take turns because I mean, there's there's always a
- 20:32Speaker 9: lot of kids, and there's always family, and so instead
- 20:35Speaker 9: of it being solely the chef responsibility, you know, and
- 20:39Speaker 9: his dad likes to cook, so we sit around and
- 20:42Speaker 9: drink beer and talk about cooking on the back porch.
- 20:44Speaker 5: But yeah, I can see that going like two ways,
- 20:46Speaker 5: Like you either like I don't want to do it,
- 20:47Speaker 5: you'll do it for me. I do this for a living,
- 20:49Speaker 5: or you're just like looking over the shoulder of everybody
- 20:51Speaker 5: like that's all right. A little bit more, a little
- 20:54Speaker 5: bit more.
- 20:54Speaker 9: Yeah, I have this expression that that the shoemaker's kids
- 20:58Speaker 9: have no shoes, right.
- 21:00Speaker 5: Uh.
- 21:01Speaker 9: You know the last it's kind of funny because you know,
- 21:04Speaker 9: like I'll go to my brother's camp with him and
- 21:06Speaker 9: he kind of expects me to do the cooking. While
- 21:08Speaker 9: we're there, because I'm the chef, and I kind of
- 21:10Speaker 9: put it into his back. At anyone there's like, you know,
- 21:13Speaker 9: you're a landscaper, do you come down here to the
- 21:15Speaker 9: landscape well on your on your vacation. Well, now that's crazy.
- 21:18Speaker 9: I was like, okay then yeah, so uh it's it's
- 21:22Speaker 9: kind of my choice, you know, Like there's I definitely
- 21:24Speaker 9: enjoy cooking, especially for family and loved ones and such,
- 21:28Speaker 9: but when it when it comes with expectations, I have
- 21:30Speaker 9: this like natural rebellion to me. That's like, you know,
- 21:33Speaker 9: I'm probably just gonna sit in the chair and drink
- 21:35Speaker 9: a beer and uh, you know, enjoy my day.
- 21:39Speaker 4: All right, here we go hashtag munchies. Do I store
- 21:42Speaker 4: my tomatoes and the fruit drawer or the vegetable drawer?
- 21:45Speaker 4: I know it's a fruit, but I feel like it's
- 21:47Speaker 4: more of a vegetable.
- 21:49Speaker 9: Yeah. So here's the thing about here's the thing about tomatoes.
- 21:53Speaker 9: It's regardless of whether it's a fruit or a vegetable,
- 21:55Speaker 9: it's an ethelene gas producer, and so you want to
- 21:58Speaker 9: store them with other ethylene gas producers and or a
- 22:03Speaker 9: lot of people, you know, like if it's a really
- 22:05Speaker 9: good tomato, you don't want to put it in your
- 22:07Speaker 9: refrigerator at all. You want to keep it out on
- 22:10Speaker 9: the tabletop so that bethylene gas escapes into the room
- 22:14Speaker 9: versus into a into a small storage area. So when
- 22:19Speaker 9: we talk about ethylene gas that as a fruit from
- 22:23Speaker 9: a tree falls to the ground, you know it's it's
- 22:26Speaker 9: actually starting to go into its decomposition cross and it
- 22:30Speaker 9: releases ethylene gas, and that etholete matures estarts releasing while
- 22:37Speaker 9: it's on the tree to some degree or the plant
- 22:39Speaker 9: or whatever. But that ethylene gas, if you put tomatoes
- 22:42Speaker 9: near your leafy greens, it's going to turn your leafy
- 22:45Speaker 9: greens brown if you put it. There are ethylene gas
- 22:48Speaker 9: susceptible products fruits and vegetables, and then there are ethylene
- 22:52Speaker 9: gas high producers, so you want to pay attention to that.
- 22:55Speaker 9: Like potatoes, for instance, produced I'm sorry, onions produce a
- 23:01Speaker 9: lot of ethylene gas. So you don't want to put
- 23:03Speaker 9: your onions and your potatoes together because it will prematurely
- 23:05Speaker 9: age them and make them sprout tomatoes the same thing.
- 23:08Speaker 9: So you need to pay attention to what you're putting
- 23:10Speaker 9: in your tomatoes with. It's it's not as important like
- 23:13Speaker 9: which your drawer necessarily I think you know, like if
- 23:17Speaker 9: you if you have I think the idea there is
- 23:19Speaker 9: if you have fruit, you slide it open so that
- 23:22Speaker 9: ethylene gas can escape. If you have that little uh
- 23:25Speaker 9: that little you know, slide for the for the for
- 23:28Speaker 9: the drawer that allows the gas to escape. And like
- 23:31Speaker 9: my my refrigerator has a carbon filter on it that
- 23:34Speaker 9: the carbon filter will will absorb the ethylene gas so
- 23:37Speaker 9: that doesn't harm anything else. And then stuff that is
- 23:41Speaker 9: not stuff that is ethylene gas susceptible, you want to
- 23:44Speaker 9: keep the drawer shut with the with the thing closed
- 23:47Speaker 9: so that it's not having gas have access to it.
- 23:52Speaker 5: Schef this this word gets thrown out a lot. I'm
- 23:54Speaker 5: going to use it here. That is why you're the
- 23:56Speaker 5: absolute goat Because that was a throw away, a funny
- 24:00Speaker 5: question somebody asked in the chat, and you just gave
- 24:03Speaker 5: us like the most educational answer on food storage and
- 24:07Speaker 5: the most like realistic practical thing that I think we
- 24:10Speaker 5: all just learned a lot from. So that is why,
- 24:13Speaker 5: like I don't use that word lightly. That was You're
- 24:15Speaker 5: the goat for sure.
- 24:16Speaker 9: I appreciate that.
- 24:18Speaker 5: Let me ask you this this isn't. This is a
- 24:20Speaker 5: question for me because I get frustrated with this all
- 24:22Speaker 5: the time. So we're a big branch dressing family and
- 24:26Speaker 5: you go to a restaurant. There's so many restaurants that
- 24:28Speaker 5: have just the greatest, most delicious ranch dressing, but you
- 24:31Speaker 5: cannot find good bottles. And I know there's like preservatives
- 24:34Speaker 5: and there's things you got to do to make shelf
- 24:35Speaker 5: stable ranch. But I would think food tech these days
- 24:38Speaker 5: they could figure this out, Like why can't Why is
- 24:41Speaker 5: restaurant ranch dressing so much better in a different league
- 24:44Speaker 5: than what you can buy at a grocery store.
- 24:47Speaker 9: Well, they're making it on a constant basis. They're making
- 24:49Speaker 9: it fresh on a constant basis. Like you know, I mean,
- 24:52Speaker 9: if you consider how much ranch there comes to train,
- 24:55Speaker 9: I'm so sorry. Guess if you consider that they make
- 24:58Speaker 9: ranch dressing almost daily basis, they're putting fresh ingredients into
- 25:02Speaker 9: it every day. When it kept when it comes to
- 25:05Speaker 9: the I'm trying to run from the stress when they
- 25:12Speaker 9: when they you know, like when they put it on
- 25:13Speaker 9: the shelf that make shelf stable, they have to put
- 25:15Speaker 9: all that stuff in there. It is going to alter
- 25:17Speaker 9: the freshness. Plus you know, like we don't know how
- 25:21Speaker 9: long it's. It'll tell you the use by date, but
- 25:24Speaker 9: it doesn't tell you what the born on date was, right,
- 25:26Speaker 9: So you know, like that stuff could sit on the
- 25:28Speaker 9: shelf for six months before you put it into your body.
- 25:31Speaker 9: Also unless it's refrigerated. Like most restaurants are using buttermilk
- 25:37Speaker 9: in their ranch if they want a quality and that's
- 25:40Speaker 9: not going to be shelf stable, right. The stuff that
- 25:43Speaker 9: they're putting on the shelf is probably using a dehydrated
- 25:45Speaker 9: milk product or something of that nature and stabilizers and
- 25:48Speaker 9: and preservatives. Whereas restaurants are going to put mayonnaise which
- 25:53Speaker 9: tastes good, isn't necessarily great for you, but it tastes good,
- 25:56Speaker 9: they're going to use buttermilk, which you know, like that's
- 25:59Speaker 9: that's beautiful for certain things. And then you know, like
- 26:03Speaker 9: the ranch packets and so I mean it, I think
- 26:06Speaker 9: it really is about the freshness of it, to be honest.
- 26:08Speaker 4: With hashtag munchies teak or walnut for cooking utensils.
- 26:16Speaker 5: Oh that's a.
- 26:16Speaker 9: Good question, man. I think both of them are good
- 26:18Speaker 9: in their own designs. So you know, I think for me,
- 26:22Speaker 9: they're both high quality products. Peak Peak is kind of
- 26:26Speaker 9: a you know, like peak is Amazonian wood, and it's
- 26:29Speaker 9: it's and overseas, and they're starting to see kind of
- 26:33Speaker 9: a decline and the amount of peak trees and so,
- 26:36Speaker 9: you know, I know the walnut trees are more available,
- 26:38Speaker 9: they're more local, and so I try to buy local first.
- 26:42Speaker 9: And that's just a personal preference, you know, that's the
- 26:44Speaker 9: sustainable person in me that a peak is beautiful, that
- 26:48Speaker 9: works really well. But you know, walnut serves its purpose
- 26:52Speaker 9: and and honestly, if I had had the option of
- 26:55Speaker 9: any of the woods, I will probably go with an
- 26:57Speaker 9: olive wood because it's stuper it's the trees grow slow there.
- 27:03Speaker 9: It's not sustainable, not necessarily, but the wood is beautiful
- 27:07Speaker 9: and it's really hard and it'll last a good long time.
- 27:12Speaker 5: Hashtag munchies. I love a good basic chicken or turkey sandwich.
- 27:18Speaker 5: But since prepackaged deli meat is kind of bad for you,
- 27:21Speaker 5: where's a good place to source sandwich meat to make
- 27:24Speaker 5: a quick sandwich?
- 27:27Speaker 9: You know, they don't really have delis around anymore, so
- 27:29Speaker 9: you just have to kind of do your diligence on
- 27:31Speaker 9: where you're getting your stuff from. You know, like I
- 27:34Speaker 9: know that I prefer to go to a lot local
- 27:36Speaker 9: places like Rouses that if they tend to have a
- 27:39Speaker 9: higher quality product than that they like a Walmart. Walmart
- 27:43Speaker 9: is is big commodities. They buy in big batches. Not
- 27:46Speaker 9: to say that they don't have good stuff, but you
- 27:49Speaker 9: really have to read the labels we buy. We buy
- 27:53Speaker 9: our meats from a place out of New York City,
- 27:55Speaker 9: to be honest with you, because it's all natural. It
- 27:58Speaker 9: doesn't have the preservatives, it's antibotic, free formone free, and
- 28:02Speaker 9: you can find that stuff. You can find it at
- 28:05Speaker 9: h at Whole Foods. You just you know, like you're
- 28:10Speaker 9: gonna pay more for it. Who's expensive these days. I
- 28:12Speaker 9: don't know if you guys have picked up on that
- 28:14Speaker 9: or not, but you know, if you're wanting that quality product,
- 28:17Speaker 9: you're certainly going to have to pay for it, that's
- 28:19Speaker 9: for sure, and you're gonna have to go to the
- 28:21Speaker 9: bougie places like Whole Foods to be able to have
- 28:24Speaker 9: access to it.
- 28:26Speaker 4: Chef, what is your favorite like healthy depth? Like, is
- 28:31Speaker 4: there is there such a thing that we're a dep
- 28:33Speaker 4: because like a lot of people don't even realize, like
- 28:36Speaker 4: when you're eating ranch or you're eating some like you know,
- 28:39Speaker 4: Chick fil a sauce, whatever it might be. It's like
- 28:41Speaker 4: you don't really count on that when you're eating that
- 28:43Speaker 4: being part of your calories. But it obviously is is
- 28:46Speaker 4: there something definitely is yes? Is there something that you
- 28:50Speaker 4: could say, Okay, this is actually maybe a good alternative.
- 28:53Speaker 9: So what we do here is we take ranch stressing
- 28:56Speaker 9: and we make it ourselves, and we use instead of
- 28:59Speaker 9: using the backets which have a lot of MSG and
- 29:01Speaker 9: a lot of preservatives in it, we actually make our
- 29:04Speaker 9: own from We buy dehydrated vegetables, we buy dehydrated tomatoes,
- 29:09Speaker 9: we buy dehydrated onions, dehydrated leaks, dehydrated garnic, you know,
- 29:13Speaker 9: And so we we actually make our own ranch and
- 29:16Speaker 9: we use a Greek yogurt instead of sour cream or
- 29:21Speaker 9: mayonnaise as much. Now we will put some sour cream
- 29:25Speaker 9: or some mayonnaise into it, but only enough to give
- 29:28Speaker 9: it the body that you're looking for. And it's it's
- 29:31Speaker 9: not it's not you know, the buzzwords of fat free
- 29:36Speaker 9: and you know, like all that stuff is kind of buzzy.
- 29:39Speaker 9: It's just healthier for you, right, It's not as bad
- 29:41Speaker 9: as what the stuff that comes out of the bottle
- 29:43Speaker 9: that you know, whatever your brand name is, it's going
- 29:47Speaker 9: to be healthier because it doesn't have as much. But
- 29:50Speaker 9: I mean, here's the thing, Jake, I believe in moderation.
- 29:54Speaker 5: Right.
- 29:55Speaker 9: If you're if you're ingesting fat and all that stuff,
- 29:58Speaker 9: as long as you're burning it off during the day,
- 30:00Speaker 9: it's not unhealthy. It's not as unhealthy as it is
- 30:03Speaker 9: is when you eat it and then you just go
- 30:05Speaker 9: sit and let us sit. And if you don't burn it,
- 30:10Speaker 9: it settles and oxidizes it and becomes something not good
- 30:14Speaker 9: for you.
- 30:15Speaker 5: All right, chef, last question for me here. These guys
- 30:19Speaker 5: are getting tired of hearing me talk about this, but
- 30:21Speaker 5: right now the Tour de France is going on. All right,
- 30:25Speaker 5: But you cook, you prepare food for athletes, and I'm
- 30:28Speaker 5: sure you've dealt with this, probably with cross country runners
- 30:31Speaker 5: or endurance athletes before. These guys in like one stage
- 30:35Speaker 5: and one day they're losing between eight and ten thousand,
- 30:37Speaker 5: burning eight to ten thousand calories per day. Hey, have
- 30:39Speaker 5: you ever cooked for athletes where it's just like, man,
- 30:41Speaker 5: I got to get fat in these people. I gotta
- 30:43Speaker 5: get calories, And how do you healthily do that without
- 30:46Speaker 5: just like absolutely destroying somebody's stomach and digestive system.
- 30:51Speaker 9: Honestly, a lot of that, A lot of that's coming
- 30:53Speaker 9: from carbs and proteins. I mean, when you want to
- 30:55Speaker 9: get and summon fat, fat has the most calories, I believe,
- 31:02Speaker 9: but realistically that's that's also where the dieticians come in.
- 31:05Speaker 9: We make the food available, the dietitians tell them what
- 31:07Speaker 9: they need. But I mean, if you think about those
- 31:10Speaker 9: long distance you know, some of ours are swimmers, some
- 31:14Speaker 9: of them are tracked, some of them are you know,
- 31:16Speaker 9: cross country, but all of them and just tons of
- 31:19Speaker 9: carbs on those on those load up days. And and
- 31:22Speaker 9: you know, like a carb, it has to be processed
- 31:25Speaker 9: in the body, and so it's going to fight, but
- 31:28Speaker 9: it's going to burn off a lot slower than say,
- 31:31Speaker 9: you know, like sugar in a packet. The same spike
- 31:34Speaker 9: will happen, but the burn and the fall is what
- 31:38Speaker 9: it makes the difference, right, And so those carbs are
- 31:41Speaker 9: you get them into the body and they start breaking
- 31:43Speaker 9: down and depending on how they come to you, that's
- 31:46Speaker 9: that depends on how they're digested and absorbed into your body.
- 31:49Speaker 9: And so you know, fiber from fruit fruits help that
- 31:54Speaker 9: with the absorption of sugar uh and and and carbohydrates
- 31:57Speaker 9: them particularly you know, you're it's gonna have a longer
- 32:00Speaker 9: burn that allows you to have that amount of energy
- 32:02Speaker 9: for a longer amount of time. And we have kids
- 32:06Speaker 9: here that burns six seven thousand, eight thousand calories, and
- 32:09Speaker 9: you'd be surprised. It's not always the long distance runners.
- 32:13Speaker 9: So as it goes with calories, the larger the human is,
- 32:17Speaker 9: the more calories it takes to burn x amount of energy. Right, so,
- 32:22Speaker 9: if we have an O lineman or a D lineman
- 32:25Speaker 9: or somebody that's just a large framed body, you know,
- 32:30Speaker 9: like for them to take ten steps, it may require
- 32:33Speaker 9: them and it is almost certainly going to require them
- 32:36Speaker 9: more caloric burns to take those ten steps. And say,
- 32:39Speaker 9: like you know a ninety five pounds gymnast who moves
- 32:42Speaker 9: lighter and has a smaller body frame and that doesn't
- 32:45Speaker 9: have as much.
- 32:46Speaker 4: Mass a right there, he is the best in the business.
- 32:50Speaker 4: So go, LSU Executive Chef Michael Johnson, Chef. We appreciate
- 32:54Speaker 4: it as always, sir, Enjoy the rest of your week
- 32:56Speaker 4: and we'll catch up again with you next week.
- 32:58Speaker 9: Take care of pellas all right.
- 33:01Speaker 4: We will take a break. How about that tomato answer?
- 33:03Speaker 5: That was unbelievable.
- 33:04Speaker 4: I mean that was a great question because it was like,
- 33:06Speaker 4: you know, kind of you know, funny because vegetable made
- 33:09Speaker 4: me laugh. But he gave like a three minute answer.
- 33:13Speaker 5: What was the what was the kind of gas ethan?
- 33:17Speaker 4: He kept saying stuff, And I was like, what.
- 33:18Speaker 6: Do y'all put y'all's tomatoes in the fridge?
- 33:21Speaker 9: No?
- 33:22Speaker 5: Okay, on if it's a cut tomato, Yeah, but like.
- 33:26Speaker 4: Regular cut it fridge.
- 33:29Speaker 2: Yeah, like a whole tomato, you just leave it out.
- 33:32Speaker 5: Yeah, okay, apples you'll put apples in the fridge a
- 33:35Speaker 5: fridge I do. Yeah, that's not what I didn't used
- 33:38Speaker 5: to do it. We do it now. It's great.
- 33:41Speaker 4: Whenever we have like tomatoes out and Harlowe wants an apple,
- 33:45Speaker 4: she keeps pointing to the tomatoes like apple.
- 33:48Speaker 5: Somebody was asking given to her. She will stop pointing
- 33:50Speaker 5: out somebody's asking how do you ripe in your avocado fast?
- 33:54Speaker 1: Like?
- 33:54Speaker 5: I know the way we do if you put it
- 33:55Speaker 5: like in a brown bag with like a banana.
- 33:57Speaker 8: Oh yeah, he's actually chef is actually mentioned Davidana with
- 34:01Speaker 8: an avocado on this show.
- 34:03Speaker 5: Yep. Today just in next tournament. Buddy, let's go to
- 34:09Speaker 5: break here off the bench one of four five ESPN.
- 34:13Speaker 1: All right, it was this off the bench.

- 35:17Speaker 5: Call them today, go visit them. Boudreaux Electrical dot.
- 35:19Speaker 3: Com, Cameronie and Destiny Angels come on.
- 35:38Speaker 1: Question from Players to legends, Hester and Flynn breakdown l
- 35:42Speaker 1: s U football like only champions can question.
- 35:48Speaker 5: Tell me.
- 35:51Speaker 4: Go ahead, Matt, because I know you want to give
- 35:53Speaker 4: the update.
- 35:54Speaker 9: Friends.
- 35:56Speaker 5: It's an electric we just take.
- 36:05Speaker 7: I liked I liked the Tour de France.
- 36:07Speaker 5: I like the I like the France.
- 36:08Speaker 6: No I need you to say it right.
- 36:12Speaker 9: There.
- 36:12Speaker 5: You go, Okay, So I just told y'all we had
- 36:15Speaker 5: an American. We had American in the breakaway. Eight people
- 36:18Speaker 5: that breakaway.
- 36:19Speaker 7: Quinn Simmons is gone, he puts.
- 36:23Speaker 5: Okay, we had one guy's name's Ben Healy's an Irish
- 36:25Speaker 5: rid He attacked and they were on a mountain or
- 36:28Speaker 5: a hill for a pretty big in climb and he attacked.
- 36:31Speaker 5: So he's leading by himself right now. But our guy,
- 36:34Speaker 5: Quinn American, he's one of two people that are chasing
- 36:38Speaker 5: him down. So the rest of the five that was
- 36:39Speaker 5: in that breakaway, they have fallen back. They're like a
- 36:41Speaker 5: minute and a half, two minutes behind. We're about forty
- 36:44Speaker 5: five seconds behind the leader.
- 36:47Speaker 6: But there were four minutes behind.
- 36:49Speaker 5: No, No, I'm talking about our two guys, our American.
- 36:51Speaker 5: The group of two is about forty five seconds behind
- 36:53Speaker 5: the solo leader. Yes, okay, on the peloton, I think
- 36:56Speaker 5: they this might be a breakaway day today. So it's
- 37:00Speaker 5: going to be two people drafting off each other, working
- 37:02Speaker 5: together to try to catch the leader. Okay, he's the best,
- 37:04Speaker 5: so we'll see.
- 37:05Speaker 6: Should they just let him the leader, like wear himself out,
- 37:09Speaker 6: or should they try.
- 37:09Speaker 5: To get there? But there's only like sixteen miles left,
- 37:13Speaker 5: so only sixty miles, only like sixteen miles. No, they're
- 37:17Speaker 5: going to try to catch him mile. So if they
- 37:20Speaker 5: do catch him with like a couple of miles left
- 37:22Speaker 5: or whatever, it is, like they'll all three at that point.
- 37:24Speaker 5: All three at that point probably work together.
- 37:26Speaker 6: Oh okay, because it's the same time, right yea, like
- 37:30Speaker 6: they all.
- 37:31Speaker 5: They probably work together until somebody gets the energy and
- 37:34Speaker 5: has energy to attack. Okay, so we'll see see if
- 37:37Speaker 5: they can catch him. He's wearing the stars and stripes
- 37:39Speaker 5: right now. He's wearing a beautiful ginger mullet, beautiful ginger
- 37:43Speaker 5: Foo man Chew. See that he's got good energy too.
- 37:46Speaker 5: He's like us. He's like, OTB right now, great energy
- 37:48Speaker 5: this morning.
- 37:50Speaker 4: True, you better have some good energy when you got
- 37:52Speaker 4: sixteen miles.
- 37:53Speaker 5: Thirteen point three miles.
- 37:55Speaker 7: Oh dude, they're almost done.
- 37:56Speaker 5: They're basically almost done.
- 37:57Speaker 6: We might be done up up a mountain.
- 38:00Speaker 5: Uh, they're kind of it looks like they're flat right now.
- 38:02Speaker 4: I'm gonna be honest, Like the part to me that
- 38:04Speaker 4: seems like it would be the hardest was staying in
- 38:06Speaker 4: that position on that bike. Ye like hunched over.
- 38:09Speaker 2: Oh I asked yesterday, but you didn't answer. Do they
- 38:13Speaker 2: get to wear headphones and listen to music?
- 38:17Speaker 5: It's not a raw I don't think they're listening to music.
- 38:19Speaker 5: So they they're all they have. They have, and the
- 38:23Speaker 5: coaches talking to them like, okay, you're a minute behind,
- 38:25Speaker 5: you're a minute behind. You got to push push, So.
- 38:27Speaker 4: Like an F one NASCAR driver like they yeah, they
- 38:29Speaker 4: can hear.
- 38:30Speaker 5: They're tell you just go watch the documentary. You'll be
- 38:33Speaker 5: in Okay, I'll be into. The coaches are in the
- 38:35Speaker 5: cars like on the road with them. Yeah, and they're
- 38:38Speaker 5: talking to them it's like, let's go go, go go go.
- 38:41Speaker 4: Oh yeah, that's kinda maybe tune.
- 38:43Speaker 5: In, go watch your football with their kits and the
- 38:51Speaker 5: pitch and the pitch and boots and boots.
- 38:54Speaker 6: Like boots more like boots is the worst one to meet.
- 38:58Speaker 5: It's a shoe.
- 39:00Speaker 4: It's a clean actually to shoe cleets on it, which
- 39:05Speaker 4: is called a cleek.
- 39:07Speaker 7: I don't like. I don't like Gaffer. I don't like
- 39:09Speaker 7: Gaffer at all. What is gaff the coach?
- 39:12Speaker 5: That's dumb, that's objectively dumb.
- 39:16Speaker 6: Because Gaffer like I'm going to do something wrong.
- 39:18Speaker 4: Caretaker the interim.
- 39:21Speaker 5: Yeah, okay, I like that better.
- 39:22Speaker 6: Caretaker makes sense though, because you're taking care of the
- 39:25Speaker 6: team on the Yeah.
- 39:26Speaker 7: Although in those accents when they say Gaffer.
- 39:30Speaker 6: Gaffer like he's the gaff.
- 39:34Speaker 4: He okay. I went to Australian Quick commercial like okay, okay,
- 39:44Speaker 4: that's so.
- 39:45Speaker 2: Since we skipped big dealer, no big deal, No, it's fine,
- 39:49Speaker 2: my big dealer, no big deal, real quick.
- 39:51Speaker 6: Just to slide this in here. Real fast was going
- 39:53Speaker 6: to be d J le Mayhew, he got Day the Yankees.
- 39:57Speaker 6: If you listen to a f R.
- 39:58Speaker 2: I talked about this a little bit on money day,
- 40:00Speaker 2: Yankees were on the market for a third baseman, Jazz
- 40:03Speaker 2: sliding back to second base. I told y'all, well, DJ
- 40:07Speaker 2: has been riddled within injuries and just a two sixty
- 40:11Speaker 2: six batting average and forty five games.
- 40:13Speaker 6: And I was telling y'all earlier fever dream scenario Rereggie.
- 40:18Speaker 4: Yeah, would the Red Sox make that trade?
- 40:22Speaker 2: Und percent would not, But I mean, I don't know.
- 40:24Speaker 2: They're still talking about the extension. If the extension doesn't
- 40:27Speaker 2: work out, they might, like he might request a trade
- 40:29Speaker 2: or like have to trade him, but they like I
- 40:33Speaker 2: was also saying to y'all earlier that they just traded Devers, yeah,
- 40:37Speaker 2: to San Francisco. San Francisco has to pay his Red
- 40:40Speaker 2: Sox contract out, so that frees up a lot of
- 40:43Speaker 2: money for the Red Sox.
- 40:44Speaker 6: That he they might be able to pay Breggy with that.
- 40:47Speaker 6: But I know the Tigers are interested in him.
- 40:50Speaker 4: So when we did our little station survey, like the
- 40:54Speaker 4: former LSU athlete with the most surprising success in his
- 40:58Speaker 4: pro career, I went.
- 40:59Speaker 7: With j That's a good one.
- 41:01Speaker 6: That was what I was thinking too, because I was like,
- 41:04Speaker 6: he was good, he was.
- 41:05Speaker 4: Solid shoe, but he was like never like even the
- 41:09Speaker 4: best player on his team, right, and then he turned
- 41:11Speaker 4: into winning a batting title in each league.
- 41:13Speaker 6: Yeah, DJ did awesome.
- 41:17Speaker 8: A hell, he was the second round pick, which is high,
- 41:20Speaker 8: but quietly like saying like it was everybody about, like.
- 41:24Speaker 4: Nobody thought all these leagues and batting app right.
- 41:28Speaker 2: Yeah, it was a quiet but solid major league career
- 41:32Speaker 2: that he has still.
- 41:33Speaker 9: I mean.
- 41:35Speaker 6: He is thirty seven years old.
- 41:37Speaker 4: He's thirty seven.
- 41:40Speaker 7: He left he was he left LW Shoe nine.
- 41:44Speaker 4: I think, yeah, was in school.
- 41:48Speaker 5: We didn't really know the baseball.
- 41:49Speaker 4: We didn't know the baseball was.
- 41:50Speaker 6: In school because I guess he would have.
- 41:53Speaker 5: They were so jealous of us.
- 41:54Speaker 4: I don't remember. I remember the guys that played football
- 41:59Speaker 4: and fall obviously, and then Jordan Mayer might have been
- 42:03Speaker 4: the only one that I really I remember. The only
- 42:05Speaker 4: reason I knew Jordan is because we played travel ball
- 42:08Speaker 4: growing up together. He's from Alexandria.
- 42:10Speaker 5: Who was the left handed pitcher I knew him Dirks Yeah, yeah.
- 42:15Speaker 6: Bentley.
- 42:18Speaker 4: Clay Diks Smith. Yeah. I mean he was drafted in nine,
- 42:22Speaker 4: so yeah, school with you definitely didn't know that.
- 42:25Speaker 6: To be clear, I don't think the Red Sox will
- 42:27Speaker 6: trade Alex Bregman.
- 42:28Speaker 2: But the trade deadline is coming up on the thirty first,
- 42:31Speaker 2: and if extension talks failed, they're gonna have to you
- 42:34Speaker 2: gotta pay Breggy.
- 42:35Speaker 4: Yeah, all right, we have to go to break and
- 42:40Speaker 4: finish it up with Asda bench top the bench, all right.
- 42:45Speaker 4: Go to ralss dot com. Big big weekend over at Rals's.

- 43:51Speaker 1: From players to legends, Hester and Flynn breakdown LSU football
- 43:55Speaker 1: like only champions can.
- 44:00Speaker 4: At first, we started a hashtag, asked the bench, when's
- 44:05Speaker 4: the last time you ran as fast as you could?
- 44:09Speaker 5: That's a really good yeah.
- 44:10Speaker 6: I don't think I've ever gone like while, it's been
- 44:13Speaker 6: a long time year, like eighty eighty five, but not.

- 44:41Speaker 5: family's there, my wife's side, and we were we were
- 44:44Speaker 5: out in the town. We're drinking quite a bit and
- 44:49Speaker 5: my brother in law challenged me to a race down
- 44:51Speaker 5: the streets in this town in Portugal. I whipped that
- 44:54Speaker 5: ass racing. Still got it, but I think about did it?
- 44:57Speaker 5: Just like just like go out there now rip three
- 45:00Speaker 5: hams shrinks.
- 45:01Speaker 4: So this year the our serious XM thing is going
- 45:04Speaker 4: to be, you know, in Atlanta, the freeze they got
