- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jaguar's fans, welcome in to do Fall Daily, presented by Gin Jag.com.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan Aluga, thanks so much for being here Tuesday, August, twelfth.
- 0:14[SPEAKER_00]: Jaguar's training camp practice, number fourteen in the books.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_00]: Jaguar's had a padded practice today.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_00]: It was physical.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_00]: Lots of, you know, working on running the football.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_00]: They did not have a period today that was fully only getting to the line of scrimmage getting the playoff, right?
- 0:33[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't do that again for a second straight day, but there were no penalties, pre-snap or, you know, operationally mental errors, things of that nature.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_00]: So that's what you want to see.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_00]: Two straight days, no pre-snap offensive or defensive penalties.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_00]: That is a beautiful thing.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_00]: And it's sad that that's what you have to talk about right now, but based on what you saw Sunday, or excuse me, Saturday night against the Steelers, and the week we can have before that,
- 1:03[SPEAKER_00]: it needed to be addressed in a big way yesterday in practice and it was and it seems so far to be working a little bit.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_00]: So we're going to dive into everything I saw out there today.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_00]: I really appreciate y'all tuning in.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_00]: You can also check out jingag.com slash shop pick up some new dooval gear like the hat I'm wearing right now.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of other fun stuff up on the site.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: Let's put the channel there, a little bit further.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_00]: Look good while doing it.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_00]: So Eric Armstead, not out there with team Anton Harrison, was back, which is great.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_00]: Back at Wright Tackle for the Jack Wars, had an excused absence yesterday for personal reasons.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_00]: still none of the usual suspects, J.L.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_00]: McCloud, Caleb Ransob, us to round, Colvin and Lannan.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_00]: Mason Smith's still on the sideline, or off to the side, I should say, trying to get back from the active slash PUP and no Tyson Campbell, who is day to day with an undisclosed injury.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter was almost exclusively on defense today.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he did any offense during team.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_00]: No, I don't think he did.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: He was with the ones.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: No Tyson Campbell.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_00]: You got drawing Jones.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_00]: Got.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter out there with the one.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_00]: So good work for Travis Hunter out there on the defensive side of the ball.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_00]: A couple injury things to bring up.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: McPherson went down and lived off.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_00]: Didn't see if he came back in.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_00]: Brian Thomas Jr.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_00]: looked like he got banged up a little bit left came back left again.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_00]: Joshua Cephas.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_00]: I know was down for a second.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why my limb was dinged up.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_00]: A few guys that we got to figure out what's up there next time we talked to Liam Cohen potentially, but hopefully nothing serious.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_00]: We did have a training camp fight, the second fight, a little fight.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: This was a bigger fight.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_00]: The first one really wasn't even a fight, but this one, it was a fight.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_00]: You had Lee Quint Allen and Branson Combs going out at running back for his linebacker.
- 3:03[SPEAKER_00]: Some swings were taken, some punches were thrown.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: wrestled to the ground a little bit.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_00]: That's going to happen at times.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_00]: Don't want to take up too much time too much energy.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: Don't want anybody to get hurt.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_00]: I think they got out of there unscathed.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_00]: There were one on one today.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_00]: There was a lot of team as I mentioned, run game, Trevor Lawrence threw a lot of passes today.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_00]: So just taking a look at the one on ones.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_00]: Again, you can't see it all at once.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: So I was looking at the receivers and the corners.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: Behind Thomas Jr., he could jarian early on.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: And one on one was able to get wide open, saw Parker washing them with a contested grab down the field against Jordan Lewis.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: That was a really impressive grab by Parker.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: Joshua Seavis really got Prince on Skate's Deontrae Prince towards the sideline.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: Christian Brasswell was able to lock up Trent Irwin and get a PBU Eli Pinkall had a deep grab verse slaughter so Pinkall showed out a little bit.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_00]: Jabar Muhammad really may have been the star of one on once.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_00]: He was able to get two pass breakups for Dorian Singer.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_00]: One was a deep ball where I think
- 4:21[SPEAKER_00]: Muhammad had outside leverage singer had him if he went inside maybe he had to run that route but like if he cut inside instead of going back towards the sideline I think singer probably would have had a catch but you know he was
- 4:36[SPEAKER_00]: Going back towards the sidelines and Mohammed had that locked up and then the other one was a really short attempt to singer and Mohammed broke that pass up as well.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_00]: Trent Irwin was able to get back at Christian Brasswell for a touchdown so they were battling back and forth a little bit.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: And the team portion of practice, some notes I had, I mean, you'll talk about how to would be sack.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_00]: I think Basel Tutans running really well and you saw him out there with Trevor Lawrence in company.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_00]: This is a guy who I tweeted out, I might have him as my top back if it was up to me right now just because I think he has the speed element that Travis ET and brings to the field.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_00]: He runs with more power and vision than ET in, certainly more vision.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_00]: I think he has the best vision.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_00]: and ability to hit the right hole at the right time on the team right now.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_00]: ETA doesn't play with great vision consistently.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_00]: Tank Biggs B has better vision than ETA, but I still don't think it's great.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_00]: He also has stone hands and is not very good in past protection.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_00]: So I think Bacial Tutan is kind of the best of both worlds a little bit.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_00]: He's not as powerful as Tank Biggs B certainly, but I might use him in short.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_00]: You're already to overtank anyways because I think that he's going to
- 5:54[SPEAKER_00]: hit the right gap, hit the right hole at the right time, and he can turn his legs, he's a small target.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_00]: So I like Bachelorette in the lot right now.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_00]: I like what he's doing.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's got good hands out of the back field.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_00]: You just want to make sure that he can continue to not put the ball on the ground for a fumbling standpoint, which was a problem for him at Virginia Tech.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_00]: But I think there definitely needs to be a rotation with the guys they have.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: But I would probably be looking to get to it on the field a lot, and in key situations.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_00]: Jacoyne Jackson also running hard looking pretty good.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_00]: Liguin Allen continues to play physically.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, getting Branson cones a little fired up.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_00]: It was a physical practice run on the ball.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_00]: There was a lot of pop.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: lot of it and I thought overall it was good work continuing in team Christian Brasswell was able to get a pb over the middle of the field so it was slaughtered so both of those guys competing out there with no Tyson Campbell Austin Tramwell and Trent Irwin
- 6:56[SPEAKER_00]: Both of these guys remain impactful and have experience in this league, but I think that they might not offer the same upside as some of the other younger guys like Eli Pinkall or Dorian Singer, but those are two players that are definitely in the conversation.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_00]: If the Jaguar is keeping six receivers, I think those two guys are definitely in the conversation.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_00]: Ray on Lane had a would be sack in this one.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_00]: Good to see him from that.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_00]: Daniel Thomas had a great hit on a short pass.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_00]: I just have such a hard time cutting Daniel Thomas or any of these safety's right now.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_00]: Their safety group is loaded.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe not with high end talent, but with guys that should be on the team.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_00]: Speaking of guys that should be on the team Antonio Johnson had a would be sack.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_00]: Andrew Wingard, penciled into the starting lineup.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_00]: He was able to, you know,
- 7:47[SPEAKER_00]: They had a period where they had the offense backed up with their own goal line.
- 7:50[SPEAKER_00]: He was able to tackle bigsby cleanly in the backfield for a safety.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_00]: So that was a big play by Dewey.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_00]: Travis ETN did have a nice catch and run today from Nick Mullins.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: Devin Lloyd had a sack for a look and had a tackle for loss against Travis ETN.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_00]: So lots of plays being made on both sides of the ball.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_00]: But overall Travis Hunter, again, on the defensive side of the ball,
- 8:17[SPEAKER_00]: uh he got called for a couple penalties he had a holding against the army brown on a play that he picked up an reception that was on a one-on-one rep um but he held so doesn't count obviously and then he also held I think it was Austin trampled down the field one time but he also had several really impressive reps I think that
- 8:42[SPEAKER_00]: I think that he's a guy that knows what that he's doing at times and practice.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_00]: It's like you're seeing things for the first time from the offense and you just got to continue to get reps and I asked
- 8:54[SPEAKER_00]: I asked Anthony Campanila about how he's progressing on defense so far.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: You know, had a lot of defense today and a practice or a series of defense on Saturday night and Campanila thinks he's doing a great job.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: He's really happy with his demeanor.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_00]: He's very even.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_00]: He'll obviously, he's excitable, but like he's the same guy all the time.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think that Hunter is, you know, on his way to being a two way star for the Jaguars, Trevor Lawrence, overall interesting day for him.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_00]: I thought that he was pretty accurate with the football outside of a couple times where he put the ball in harm's way.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_00]: We'll run through it.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_00]: He completed his first pass deep middle to Diami Brown.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't like a bomb down the field, but probably about a twenty yard completion.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_00]: Next play could not find Britain's strange
- 9:45[SPEAKER_00]: He basically threw the ball away to get to one of two.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_00]: Next play, Diami Brown dropped a pass over the middle of the field that he absolutely needed to catch.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_00]: So one of three at that point, you got to two-of-four with a completion short to Brian Thomas Jr.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_00]: On the next play.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_00]: Kind of threw it off balance, jumping throw, it was too far outside for Brian Thomas Jr.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_00]: to get his hands on it to fall to two of five.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_00]: Then he had a dime to Parker Washington with a great one-handed catch.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_00]: Put it in a spot where only his receiver could get it down the field, touched down.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_00]: And then after that play, Trevor went and showed Parker some love.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_00]: So that was a really nice play to see that was cool.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_00]: And Parker Washington, I haven't talked about him yet much.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: He was really the star of practice today, both in one-on-ones.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_00]: and in team, he did a really, really good job.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_00]: The next play, Trevor Lawrence had written strange short, but strange dropped it.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_00]: Another catch that should have been made, so he had two big drops today, unfortunately.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_00]: Next play was a completion to Brian Thomas Jr.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_00]: Then another completion to Britain's strange, so he went back to strange on a similar route soon after the drop by strange.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor's not afraid to keep hitting his guys, even after they make a mistake, which I think is very important.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Lawrence then hit Parker Washington for another big gain down the field to get to six of ten.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_00]: Had a completion after that to Diami Brown where foie almost tipped it.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_00]: He might have got a finger on it, but it didn't affect the ballast trajectory enough to make it an completion.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_00]: Seven of eleven at that point after that.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Lawrence had a nice scramble where even in a real live game he absolutely would have gotten you know five plus yards.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_00]: There was pressure coming from the right.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_00]: There was a wide open hole to the left.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_00]: and Trevor, way before the pressure got there, since it invaded and got out there and would have picked up some yards for his offense, so that was nice to see.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_00]: Next play, Gabe Ryan, Thomas Jr., an opportunity to go one-on-one vs. Jarring Jones on the sideline.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_00]: Jarring Jones poked the ball out, so BT couldn't come down with that one.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_00]: I think after that play is when BT might have like, you know, her shoulder a little bit got looked at by the training staff went back in, came back out.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_00]: He's somebody who deals with a lot of little nicks and bumps during practice.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_00]: It seems like next class pass was a completed pass to Parker Washington short to get to eight of thirteen.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_00]: Next play, Josh Hines Allen wins inside and that would have been an absolute sack Lawrence.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_00]: on the move, threw it behind the army brown who tipped it and Eric Murray picked it off.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Lawrence interception day, as I mentioned, I thought there was a couple of times where he was a little loose with the football.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_00]: Next play was a completion technically, but Josh Hinddown would have had a sack again.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_00]: That one was complete to Britain's strange next play.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_00]: Almost another interception.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_00]: I think it would have been a third straight Josh Heinz Allen sack.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, three straight past plays that were Josh Heinz Allen's sacks.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_00]: He was dominant during that stretch.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_00]: And he has the ability to do that in games consistently.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter made a crazy diving catch, but apparently didn't get both feeding and bound on that one.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_00]: So only one interception for Trevor today.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_00]: I would say that one that
- 13:04[SPEAKER_00]: Travis apparently didn't get was a turnover worthy play however Really impressive attempt on the ball by Travis and I would like to see the replay on that one Nine of seventeen Lawrence bounce it off of the O lines head backed up on his own goal line that one sketchy because you bounce up a ball on your own goal line that could be a touchdown and a heartbeat
- 13:29[SPEAKER_00]: So that's three plays where I thought Lawrence really decision making and ball placement could have been a lot better.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_00]: Felter Nine of Seventeen backed up though again, completed one to Diami Brown to get to ten of eighteen, then completed another pass to Travis E.T.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_00]: and to get to eleven of nineteen, hit Parker Washington wide open down the field to get to twelve of twenty as I mentioned Parker Washington really stepped up when Brian Thomas Jr.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_00]: wasn't on the field and
- 13:58[SPEAKER_00]: Good for him, he's been having a hell of a camp so far, the last couple weeks, we can have completed a pass to Hunter Long to get to thirteen of twenty-one, completed a pass down the field to Deami Brown to get to fourteen of twenty-two, completed another pass to Austin, trample to get to fifteen of twenty-three.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_00]: Another attempt to Austin trample down the field, he could not separate from Jordan Lewis on that one, so fell to fifteen of twenty-four.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_00]: Then you had that holding call on Travis Hunter, I mentioned earlier,
- 14:26[SPEAKER_00]: I had a short scramble that I think would've gotten, you know, a couple yards here.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_00]: And then final play for Trevor Lawrence on the day was a red zone touchdown two Johnny Month.
- 14:37[SPEAKER_00]: So a good way to finish the day for sure.
- 14:40[SPEAKER_00]: No question about that.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_00]: Looking at Trevor Lawrence's stats throughout Camp so far.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's done a good job today.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_00]: Again, a little loose with the ball a couple times, but still overall he's done a great job taking care of the football.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_00]: You want to see the drops eliminated.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_00]: You had
- 14:56[SPEAKER_00]: You know, two drops that were pretty unacceptable today.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_00]: But Lawrence on the training camp so far, including the preseason game, is one seventy two of two sixty two twenty five touchdown passes six interceptions, twelve drops, three turnover worthy place.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_00]: So what is one seventy two over two sixty two.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_00]: I am not a mathematicians, so we're going to head to the calculator for this one.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_00]: That was not the right.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_00]: Number one seventy two over two sixty two is sixty five point six percent and if you want to do the adjusted completion percentage uh twelve drops one seventy two plus twelve is one eighty
- 15:38[SPEAKER_00]: for over two sixty two is seventy percent adjusted completion percentage.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_00]: I think Trevor Lawrence is looking pretty impressive overall with his footwork with his decision making again.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_00]: Couple plays today probably shouldn't have thrown it but overall very impressed with him so far.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_00]: I think that
- 15:58[SPEAKER_00]: He's in a place where he can definitely execute this Liam Cohen offense and he's going to continue to grow over the next several weeks to get ready for the Panthers in week one.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_00]: Let me know what y'all think in the comment section below.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content here, please like and subscribe y'all have a good one.
