Latest / Salem Podcast Network / Unshaken & Unafraid with Joe Pags - Megyn Kelly on Trump, CNN, Kamala Harris & the Media’s Trust Crisis
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Everyone knows CNN, MSNOW and Politico are totally unfair and
- 0:05Speaker 1: are only masquerading as news organizations. Yeah, that's deeply problematic.
- 0:10Speaker 1: He sunk his client's chances. I mean, his lawyer's chances.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Right then and there.
- 0:14Speaker 1: And it was the thing that the lawyer representing the
- 0:17Speaker 1: news organizations. led with at the argument and there's a
- 0:20Speaker 1: reason for that i would have done the same.
- 0:21Speaker 3: Megan kelly just unloaded on the legacy media but also
- 0:25Speaker 3: says trump handed them an opening i asked her how
- 0:27Speaker 3: both can be true you've got to see that this
- 0:29Speaker 3: woman is one of the best journalists we've ever had
- 0:31Speaker 3: on the planet it's megan kelly megankelly.com of course incredible
- 0:35Speaker 3: journalist the host of the megan kelly show which is
- 0:37Speaker 3: just killing it on the charts megan how are you
- 0:39Speaker 3: good to.
- 0:39Speaker 2: See you i'm great how you doing joe paggs.
- 0:41Speaker 3: I'm living the dream. I love going to the charts
- 0:43Speaker 3: every day. Cause I want to see where I am
- 0:45Speaker 3: and you're number one every day and you should be.
- 0:47Speaker 3: I think the show is that good before I get
- 0:50Speaker 3: into the whole, all the press stuff. Let me ask
- 0:51Speaker 3: you about that. If you don't mind, why does your
- 0:54Speaker 3: show resonate so well with the audience? Cause I know
- 0:56Speaker 3: there was trepidation at first. You weren't even showing yourself
- 0:59Speaker 3: at first when you started doing the podcast. Why is
- 1:01Speaker 3: this working so well?
- 1:02Speaker 2: Do you think, um, I don't know, Joe. I feel
- 1:06Speaker 2: like I try to just be honest. Sometimes I upset people.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Sometimes my audience disagrees with me strongly. But I think
- 1:14Speaker 1: one thing about our show is we're very tolerant of
- 1:17Speaker 1: dissenting viewpoints.
- 1:18Speaker 2: So if I'm saying something that the audience... doesn't agree
- 1:22Speaker 2: with or, you know, is.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Rejecting, they know that while I have my own good
- 1:27Speaker 1: faith belief, I'm not judging theirs.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Like, it's fine.
- 1:30Speaker 1: You know, I'm actually perfectly willing to hear them out
- 1:32Speaker 1: and be told that I'm wrong. And, you know, like,
- 1:34Speaker 1: I'm pretty good at agreeing, disagreeing agreeably. I think it's
- 1:39Speaker 1: just the lawyer in me. So I think people like
- 1:41Speaker 1: that because that way they get a different POV, but
- 1:44Speaker 1: they don't feel like offended or like they're being attacked
- 1:46Speaker 1: or like they're hated for their POV.
- 1:49Speaker 3: When I have you on, people love it. And then
- 1:51Speaker 3: some people hate it. It's very, very strange. I'm supposed
- 1:55Speaker 3: to disown you because of what, what happened in 2015
- 1:58Speaker 3: or something at a debate. Does that ever get old?
- 2:00Speaker 3: I mean, people have these very long memories and they
- 2:02Speaker 3: forget that you and Trump made up and they forget
- 2:04Speaker 3: that you've got your own show and you, they forget
- 2:06Speaker 3: that you do bring in, you know, differing opinions. Is
- 2:09Speaker 3: it weird to you as it is to me that
- 2:11Speaker 3: sometimes people will hang on something that might've happened 10,
- 2:13Speaker 3: 15 years ago?
- 2:16Speaker 2: No, it doesn't really bother me. It's not bad to
- 2:18Speaker 2: be controversial.
- 2:19Speaker 1: I've found in my time in the public eye, it's
- 2:22Speaker 1: not enjoyable necessarily, but it's not bad professionally. There's something
- 2:27Speaker 1: that makes me a lightning rod for some people, and
- 2:29Speaker 1: that is only inert to my benefits. So it's kind
- 2:32Speaker 1: of like you can't complain about it. And I also
- 2:34Speaker 1: feel like when it comes to Trump.
- 2:36Speaker 2: You know, he.
- 2:38Speaker 1: he gins up very strong opinions, both in his fans
- 2:42Speaker 1: and his detractors. And there really are like groups of
- 2:45Speaker 1: people who define themselves based on their feelings about Trump
- 2:49Speaker 1: and how you feel about Trump, both pro and against.
- 2:53Speaker 1: I'm not in either one of those groups. I do
- 2:55Speaker 1: not define anything about myself based on Donald Trump. And I'm,
- 2:59Speaker 1: you know, both a fan and an occasional detractor. And
- 3:01Speaker 1: that's appropriate for my role. And that upsets some people
- 3:04Speaker 1: and I can handle that. And that's, that's fine by me.
- 3:06Speaker 1: And I was like, well, whatever, what am I going
- 3:07Speaker 1: to do? There's some people who feel who don't like me.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Imagine it, Joe Pax, but they're out there.
- 3:11Speaker 3: I can't imagine it either. It's Megan Kelly. Follow her
- 3:13Speaker 3: everywhere at Megan Kelly. Check out the Megan Kelly show,
- 3:15Speaker 3: download it, watch it every day. It's funny that you
- 3:17Speaker 3: said that I was at the gym the other day
- 3:19Speaker 3: and a guy came up and gave me a fist bump.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:20Speaker 3: Trump got it done with Greenland. And I went, yeah,
- 3:23Speaker 3: you got it done. And he said, the guy's always
- 3:24Speaker 3: five steps ahead of everybody, including you and me. And
- 3:26Speaker 3: then I got an email from a guy who said,
- 3:28Speaker 3: why do you defend every lie out of Trump's mouth?
- 3:30Speaker 3: He is that lightning rod. Megan, do you think he
- 3:32Speaker 3: likes being that person? I think he kind of likes it.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Yes, he loves it. Are you kidding me? It's like
- 3:38Speaker 2: when this whole thing broke.
- 3:39Speaker 1: With the, you know, banning CNN and MSNOW and political from.
- 3:42Speaker 2: The White House. And they were like, well, we won't
- 3:44Speaker 2: cover you.
- 3:45Speaker 1: You know, all the networks are like, well, we won't
- 3:47Speaker 1: be covering one bit of you if you don't back down.
- 3:51Speaker 1: It was like, did anybody think Trump was going to
- 3:53Speaker 1: be like.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Oh, in that case, I back down. I mean, we
- 3:55Speaker 2: all know him by this point. He loves fighting. He
- 3:59Speaker 2: loves he is a.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Walking middle finger. It is what we most of us
- 4:03Speaker 1: love about him. It can be annoying at times if
- 4:06Speaker 1: you're on the receiving end of it. But net net,
- 4:09Speaker 1: it's a net positive, I think, for the country. But, yeah,
- 4:11Speaker 1: there's no question he enjoys the fight.
- 4:13Speaker 3: Where are you as a journalist? Where are you as
- 4:16Speaker 3: a podcast host? Where are you as somebody who's an
- 4:18Speaker 3: incredible lawyer? When it comes to President Trump saying you
- 4:21Speaker 3: three entities can't be in the White House or in
- 4:24Speaker 3: the press corps or on Air Force One anymore, legally
- 4:27Speaker 3: speaking and then from all the other roles that you
- 4:30Speaker 3: obviously have, where are you on that?
- 4:33Speaker 2: I will tell you where I am. This is where
- 4:35Speaker 2: I am. Who cares? I fucking hate this story. I
- 4:41Speaker 2: hate it. I couldn't care less.
- 4:44Speaker 1: I know what, you know, I realize he shouldn't do
- 4:48Speaker 1: it because he's opened the door to everybody and you
- 4:49Speaker 1: can't say not the one because of viewpoint discrimination and
- 4:52Speaker 1: all that. And then he tried to say, oh, it's
- 4:54Speaker 1: not viewpoint discrimination. It's a matter of state, whatever. I
- 4:56Speaker 1: have no use for this. Everybody knows exactly what's going on.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Everyone knows CNN, MSNOW and Politico. Yes.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Yes.
- 5:21Speaker 1: That they are, you know, the Walter Cronkite of 1970
- 5:23Speaker 1: trying to play it straight down the middle. And they've
- 5:26Speaker 1: been unfairly targeted by this terrible tyrant in the White House.
- 5:29Speaker 2: I just I don't have it in me. I can't pretend.
- 5:33Speaker 1: So it's like, yes, on paper, if we're discussing this
- 5:35Speaker 1: without these three entities, you ask me, does the president
- 5:38Speaker 1: have the right to ban three random news organizations based
- 5:41Speaker 1: on their viewpoints about him?
- 5:42Speaker 2: No, he doesn't.
- 5:43Speaker 1: But then when we get into like the sticky wicket
- 5:46Speaker 1: of what they actually do every day with 90% negative
- 5:50Speaker 1: coverage of Trump and overwhelmingly positive coverage of Kamala Harris
- 5:55Speaker 1: or whatever Democrat, Joe Biden, then it kind of breaks down.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Because if you ask me like, Does my colleague at
- 6:01Speaker 1: Sirius XM, Howard Stern, have a right to be in
- 6:03Speaker 1: the White House?
- 6:04Speaker 2: The answer is no.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Why would we be putting him in? You know, like
- 6:07Speaker 1: if you want, like Bill Maher, he's a comedian who
- 6:10Speaker 1: does a nighttime show.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Does he have a right?
- 6:12Speaker 1: No, he doesn't have a right to be in there either.
- 6:13Speaker 1: How are they any different from them? How are they any,
- 6:15Speaker 1: except they don't make us laugh. I just, so that's
- 6:19Speaker 1: why I've spent, I spent no.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Time on this. He's lost. That's not a surprise.
- 6:24Speaker 1: The Trump appointed judge, last name Kelly, no relation, has
- 6:27Speaker 1: allowed them back in the White House for now.
- 6:29Speaker 2: The fight will go on. I think he'll continue to
- 6:32Speaker 2: lose because Trump, you know, he gave it up. He
- 6:36Speaker 2: said explicitly, I don't like the way they cover me.
- 6:37Speaker 2: So that wasn't very helpful to his side.
- 6:40Speaker 3: Whatever.
- 6:40Speaker 2: I don't care. No one sees them as victims.
- 6:43Speaker 3: And you're right about that. What's interesting is that Caitlin
- 6:45Speaker 3: Collins had Michael Waltz sitting next to her outside the
- 6:49Speaker 3: UN as she was complaining about how she couldn't cover
- 6:51Speaker 3: the administration. And he obviously is in the administration. He said,
- 6:54Speaker 3: I'm in the, what are you talking about? I'm on
- 6:56Speaker 3: your show. I'll push back a little bit and I'm
- 6:58Speaker 3: not a lawyer. So you're probably going to smoke me
- 7:00Speaker 3: on this. But do you get tenure? Do you get
- 7:03Speaker 3: an automatic pass? You get a hard pass in 1981
- 7:05Speaker 3: if you're CNN and you always get to have it.
- 7:08Speaker 3: You and I remember. Well, you probably don't remember. You're
- 7:10Speaker 3: too young. But, you know, Dan Rather going after Richard Nixon.
- 7:13Speaker 3: He made a name for himself. You had the guy
- 7:15Speaker 3: from ABC who was always going after Ronald Reagan. And
- 7:19Speaker 3: that was Sam Donaldson. Exactly right. So and that was great.
- 7:23Speaker 3: And Reagan took it, you know, on the chin and
- 7:25Speaker 3: went back and forth with him. But do you get
- 7:27Speaker 3: a hard pass and you always get it? There are
- 7:30Speaker 3: estimated to be 50,000 so-called journalists in the country. There
- 7:33Speaker 3: are 5 million podcasters in the country. Do we all
- 7:36Speaker 3: have the inherent freedom of the press to be inside
- 7:38Speaker 3: the Oval Office or inside the White House or on
- 7:40Speaker 3: Air Force One every day? So once they get the pass,
- 7:43Speaker 3: they get it legally forever? I don't see that. How
- 7:45Speaker 3: does that work?
- 7:46Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I don't think so.
- 7:47Speaker 1: But, you know, when the president is explicitly out there
- 7:50Speaker 1: saying that he's banning you because of the way you're
- 7:53Speaker 1: covering him, it's a problem. It looks like viewpoint discrimination
- 7:56Speaker 1: by a government official under the First Amendment. That's why
- 7:59Speaker 1: Trump got in trouble when he did it to Jim
- 8:01Speaker 1: Acosta in the first term. And that's why It would
- 8:03Speaker 1: have been helpful if he didn't say anything this time around.
- 8:05Speaker 1: And next time around, if he wants to do it,
- 8:07Speaker 1: like if he waits a suitable amount of time and
- 8:09Speaker 1: then just decides that, you know, like it's gotten too
- 8:11Speaker 1: crowded in there and some people are going to have
- 8:13Speaker 1: to go.
- 8:13Speaker 2: He'd probably be in a better position, though. This won't help.
- 8:16Speaker 1: But they did side with him when he tried to
- 8:20Speaker 1: kick the AP out of covering him in the pool
- 8:23Speaker 1: and covering him in the Oval Office. A lower court
- 8:26Speaker 1: judge said, no, that's a First Amendment violation.
- 8:29Speaker 2: But then the Court of Appeals said, no, it isn't.
- 8:32Speaker 1: You actually don't have a constitutional right to be next
- 8:34Speaker 1: to the president in these small places. He can decide
- 8:37Speaker 1: who's there. And then they tried to get the full
- 8:39Speaker 1: appellate court to weigh in and say, that's wrong.
- 8:41Speaker 2: That's an outrage.
- 8:41Speaker 1: And the full appellate court refused to do so. So
- 8:44Speaker 1: he's actually winning that battle. It's not as clear cut
- 8:47Speaker 1: as the president's detractors would say. The problem here was
- 8:50Speaker 1: he explicitly said it's their viewpoint.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Like, that's not great. He kind of gave his own
- 8:55Speaker 2: lawyers an uphill battle.
- 8:57Speaker 3: It's why I love your brain. I mean, I didn't
- 8:58Speaker 3: even think about that angle. So if he just shuts
- 9:00Speaker 3: his mouth. And you three just don't have the pass.
- 9:03Speaker 3: You don't have the room. We have three other people
- 9:04Speaker 3: that want to come in. If he doesn't say anything
- 9:07Speaker 3: about viewpoint, because literally he looked at the camera, looked
- 9:09Speaker 3: at CNN and said 93% negative on Trump. You don't
- 9:13Speaker 3: deserve to be here. So the fact that he says
- 9:15Speaker 3: that shows that it's out of revenge or it's out
- 9:18Speaker 3: of viewpoint, you know, censorship or whatever the hell he's
- 9:21Speaker 3: trying to do. Right. So if he doesn't say that, literally,
- 9:24Speaker 3: you think he's got a better case? Just because he
- 9:26Speaker 3: said that?
- 9:28Speaker 1: Yeah, that's deeply problematic. He sunk his client's chances. I mean,
- 9:32Speaker 1: his lawyer's chances right then and there. And it was
- 9:34Speaker 1: the thing that the lawyer representing the news organizations led
- 9:38Speaker 1: with at the argument.
- 9:39Speaker 2: And there's a reason for that. I would have done
- 9:40Speaker 2: the same.
- 9:41Speaker 1: But look, that's Trump. Who could forget in that deposition
- 9:46Speaker 1: with the lawyer for E. Jean Carroll, who is herself
- 9:50Speaker 1: a lesbian, when Trump sat there and she was like,
- 9:53Speaker 1: Did you say that when you're a celebrity, you can
- 9:55Speaker 1: grab them by the P word and when you're a celebrity,
- 9:57Speaker 1: they let you do it?
- 9:58Speaker 2: And Trump said, yeah. he was like, you know, since
- 10:01Speaker 2: the beginning of time, he said for thousands of years, that's,
- 10:05Speaker 2: that's been the case. He says, you know, unfortunately or fortunately.
- 10:10Speaker 1: And then he looked at this unattractive lawyer and he
- 10:13Speaker 1: was like, you, for.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Example, you would never be my type. And he said,
- 10:16Speaker 2: your client was never my type. That's Trump.
- 10:19Speaker 1: He doesn't care if it's going to undermine him in
- 10:22Speaker 1: a legal proceeding or in the public opinion. He's just,
- 10:25Speaker 1: it's like Sean Hannity once said to me, Trump's problem
- 10:27Speaker 1: is not that he lies.
- 10:28Speaker 2: It's that he tells the truth. Wow.
- 10:31Speaker 3: It's Megyn Kelly. Go youtube.com slash at Megyn Kelly. Go
- 10:34Speaker 3: see at Megyn Kelly everywhere. Check out her show every
- 10:36Speaker 3: single day. We love the, we love the knowledge and
- 10:38Speaker 3: the friendships. Let's talk about Kamala Harris. Actually, I want
- 10:41Speaker 3: to finish on the media for a second, if you
- 10:43Speaker 3: don't mind. In watching the media so-called coverage of this
- 10:46Speaker 3: White House, if you were advising Trump, you literally would
- 10:49Speaker 3: say just stop being Trump so much and he might
- 10:52Speaker 3: actually get what he wants. Is it a matter of
- 10:54Speaker 3: him putting his foot in his mouth every once in
- 10:56Speaker 3: a while or every day or so on? Because he's
- 10:58Speaker 3: turning people off sometimes. Well, a lot of times with
- 11:01Speaker 3: what he says and how he just continues to say it.
- 11:04Speaker 3: If he just backed off for a second, he might
- 11:06Speaker 3: actually be that much more effective.
- 11:09Speaker 2: No, I didn't say that. And I don't believe that. No.
- 11:13Speaker 1: I don't think his problem is how he deals with
- 11:15Speaker 1: the media because his base is Republican and right-leaning independents
- 11:18Speaker 1: and we all hate the media.
- 11:20Speaker 2: So I don't think there's any problem there. And he's
- 11:22Speaker 2: not going to win over the left-wing media. It's kind
- 11:24Speaker 2: of pointless.
- 11:24Speaker 1: In fact, his numbers usually go up when he fights
- 11:27Speaker 1: with them. So there's kind of no downside in doing that.
- 11:30Speaker 1: His numbers are down right now with Republicans because the
- 11:32Speaker 1: economy is in trouble and people are feeling it and
- 11:35Speaker 1: they are blaming him.
- 11:37Speaker 2: Because he said Trump will fix it.
- 11:39Speaker 1: You know, it was all around the arenas when he
- 11:41Speaker 1: spoke and they believed him on that and their lives
- 11:44Speaker 1: haven't changed for the better. And that plus the unpopularity
- 11:48Speaker 1: of like the Iran war.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Have sent his numbers diving.
- 11:52Speaker 1: And he can't end that war, and therefore he can't
- 11:55Speaker 1: end the inflation related to that war, which only exacerbates
- 11:58Speaker 1: problem number one.
- 12:00Speaker 2: And people are tired of that. They want their own
- 12:02Speaker 2: lives to improve.
- 12:04Speaker 1: So I think they'd blame whoever was in office, and
- 12:06Speaker 1: Trump is not getting a pass, even from some of
- 12:09Speaker 1: the Republican base, even though his numbers are still decent
- 12:12Speaker 1: with the Republicans. We've seen some erosion, and he has
- 12:15Speaker 1: no support left with anybody in the left wing, and
- 12:17Speaker 1: he's lost the majority of independents as well. That's why
- 12:20Speaker 1: the numbers are not so great.
- 12:22Speaker 3: Let me finish on the media thing by beating up
- 12:24Speaker 3: your former employer a little bit, and you might actually
- 12:26Speaker 3: agree with what they did. I don't. Fox News, I think,
- 12:29Speaker 3: is really, really stupid for jumping on the bandwagon with CNN, MSNOW,
- 12:34Speaker 3: and Politico. They all hate Fox News. They make fun
- 12:37Speaker 3: of Fox News. They deride Fox News every day. Yet they, Joe,
- 12:41Speaker 3: we're going to not cover you on the pool either
- 12:43Speaker 3: because we're all for one and one for all. Those
- 12:45Speaker 3: entities would never do that for Fox News. I don't
- 12:47Speaker 3: remember them ever going above and beyond. They didn't report
- 12:49Speaker 3: on it. They didn't go above and beyond when you
- 12:51Speaker 3: were treated like you were treated. They didn't go above
- 12:53Speaker 3: and beyond when James Rosen was being investigated and spied
- 12:56Speaker 3: on by Obama. So would you, do you agree with
- 13:00Speaker 3: Fox News saying, let's join you and show you how
- 13:03Speaker 3: we're all for one and one for all when they
- 13:05Speaker 3: are the unwanted stepchild to these people?
- 13:08Speaker 1: I think Fox felt it had to because they did
- 13:10Speaker 1: step in and defend Fox.
- 13:12Speaker 2: That did happen, actually.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Barack Obama tried to ban Fox— I think it was Fox Business—
- 13:18Speaker 1: from sitting as Poole for one day of his coverage.
- 13:21Speaker 1: I can't remember what he was doing, but he tried
- 13:23Speaker 1: to ban them. And it was a very big deal
- 13:25Speaker 1: at Fox when he did this. No president had done
- 13:27Speaker 1: that in recent history. We were all like, what the F?
- 13:30Speaker 1: And every single other.
- 13:32Speaker 2: News organization came out and said, we won't be there either.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Fox won't be there.
- 13:35Speaker 1: Because the way Poole works is you have Fox, CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC,
- 13:41Speaker 1: and NBC, and they all rotate whose pool, because these
- 13:44Speaker 1: are small spaces that the president's in.
- 13:46Speaker 2: You don't want six TV cameras. You just want the one.
- 13:49Speaker 1: So you rotate whose pool for the day and all
- 13:52Speaker 1: the networks will take that camera's feed. And it wasn't
- 13:55Speaker 1: really anything exciting. It was just like being the pool
- 13:58Speaker 1: for the day. And he said no, because Fox isn't
- 14:00Speaker 1: a real news organization. And sure enough, they, so Fox,
- 14:04Speaker 1: I think felt it had no choice, but to now
- 14:07Speaker 1: that the shoe was on the other foot, I mean,
- 14:08Speaker 1: I would make the case to compare Fox of 20,
- 14:12Speaker 1: whatever it was, 13. I can't remember the year that
- 14:16Speaker 1: this happened. 14 to MS now today is.
- 14:19Speaker 2: An insult to Fox News.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Fox was a real news organization with, I mean, you
- 14:25Speaker 1: looked at the primetime lineup.
- 14:26Speaker 2: It was very fair and balanced, very fair. It wasn't
- 14:29Speaker 2: all conservatives. Like when I was there, O'Reilly was a populist.
- 14:32Speaker 2: I was an independent.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Sean Hannity was a conservative. And Greta, nobody knew. Most
- 14:36Speaker 1: people thought she was a Democrat. So Fox always had
- 14:40Speaker 1: different points of view represented. That is not at all
- 14:43Speaker 1: what's happening on MS now and hasn't been happening for years.
- 14:47Speaker 1: So you could make a case that times have changed
- 14:50Speaker 1: and Fox didn't owe them that. But I think probably
- 14:52Speaker 1: the conversation behind closed doors was given the history they
- 14:55Speaker 1: they they did.
- 14:56Speaker 3: It's the remarkable Megyn Kelly going to check out everything
- 14:59Speaker 3: that she does, taking everything she does. You probably are.
- 15:01Speaker 3: She's number one on the podcast list. I'm like number 32,
- 15:03Speaker 3: and I'm like, well, there's Megyn on top. Where did
- 15:05Speaker 3: I fall today? Let's talk about Kamala Harris. Is she
- 15:08Speaker 3: the gift that keeps on giving? The number one video
- 15:10Speaker 3: I've ever posted on TikTok, 12.1 million views, is me
- 15:14Speaker 3: making fun of Kamala Harris in that dumb interview she
- 15:16Speaker 3: did with the Philadelphia ABC affiliate where she kept on
- 15:19Speaker 3: going on about how she grew up in a middle-class
- 15:21Speaker 3: household in a middle-class neighborhood and so on. She just
- 15:24Speaker 3: kept on repeating herself and ignored the questions the guy
- 15:26Speaker 3: was asking. She's on the campaign trail. Even Abdul El-Sayed
- 15:29Speaker 3: looked like he was really, really troubled to be sitting
- 15:31Speaker 3: next to her the other day. What do you make
- 15:33Speaker 3: of her being out there in the four all of
- 15:34Speaker 3: a sudden this week? She's out there, you know, doing
- 15:36Speaker 3: her doublespeak again. Let's be honest. A lot of what
- 15:39Speaker 3: comes out of Hollywood these days makes a mockery of America.
- 15:42Speaker 3: Somehow we're the bad guys. They make a mockery of
- 15:45Speaker 3: our history, our values, our faith. There's still a place
- 15:49Speaker 3: telling stories, real stories, that remind us what makes America,
- 15:53Speaker 3: the United States, worth celebrating. That place is Angel Studios.
- 15:57Speaker 3: They're creating unapologetically patriotic films and shows, original films and
- 16:01Speaker 3: shows that uplift, educate, and inspire. Like Sound of Freedom.
- 16:06Speaker 3: Have you checked that out yet? A powerful true story
- 16:07Speaker 3: that exposed the horrors of child trafficking. and inspired millions
- 16:11Speaker 3: to take action. Something to stand for with Mike Rowe.
- 16:14Speaker 3: Have you seen this? An incredible tribute to ordinary Americans
- 16:17Speaker 3: who risked everything to defend liberty. And The Last Rodeo,
- 16:21Speaker 3: an upcoming heartland drama about a bull riding veteran who
- 16:23Speaker 3: comes out of retirement to save his grandson. It's faith.
- 16:27Speaker 3: It's grit. It's the kind of storytelling Hollywood forgot how
- 16:30Speaker 3: to do. These aren't just good films. They are cultural
- 16:32Speaker 3: reset buttons. And when you join the Angel Guild, you
- 16:35Speaker 3: don't just stream entertainment. You help to create it. You

- 17:06Speaker 2: What's with the black scent?
- 17:08Speaker 1: Honestly, like we've all heard her talk a million times
- 17:12Speaker 1: and she.
- 17:12Speaker 2: Doesn't talk like that. And she's like, it's okay. If
- 17:17Speaker 2: you don't support a candidate, it's okay. We, she doesn't
- 17:21Speaker 2: talk like that. What is like, who does she think
- 17:23Speaker 2: she's fooling?
- 17:24Speaker 1: She's such a fraud and her, her blacks. And we
- 17:27Speaker 1: all know like the barbershop didn't even believe she was black, right?
- 17:31Speaker 1: Those black guys during the campaign were like, she's not black.
- 17:34Speaker 2: She's Indian. That's the part of her heritage. She's always
- 17:36Speaker 2: leaned into.
- 17:37Speaker 1: Um, Now she's playing it up because she's in front
- 17:39Speaker 1: of the NAACP. The New York Times will defend it
- 17:42Speaker 1: as code switching. But like, let's give me a break
- 17:45Speaker 1: that she doesn't talk like that. And it's an affectation.
- 17:48Speaker 1: And you could see, you know, the people there, I'm sure,
- 17:51Speaker 1: weren't buying it. Just same as the Democrats didn't buy
- 17:53Speaker 1: it and didn't put her in the office. Then at
- 17:55Speaker 1: the separate event with El-Sayed, the man looked like he
- 17:58Speaker 1: wanted the eject button from an F-16. If he had one,
- 18:01Speaker 1: he would have pressed it.
- 18:03Speaker 2: He would have been launched. Because whatever you think of El-Sayed,
- 18:06Speaker 2: he's a good politician. He's a smooth talker.
- 18:08Speaker 1: And I'm sure he was looking at her like, oh
- 18:10Speaker 1: my God, how did that person become the vice.
- 18:14Speaker 2: President and the nominee for this party?
- 18:17Speaker 1: So I guess he thought that she would help him
- 18:19Speaker 1: with black voters. Well, that remains to be seen.
- 18:22Speaker 2: I don't know. But She's such a phony.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Like, she's halfway between her black sin and her drunk talk.
- 18:30Speaker 2: You know, like, it's okay if you vote for someone.
- 18:33Speaker 2: You know, it's like, I thought I was telling on him.
- 18:37Speaker 2: You're like, what?
- 18:38Speaker 3: What did she say? I think next to El Sayed,
- 18:41Speaker 3: she said something about DEI is an attack on maternal
- 18:44Speaker 3: instincts or something. Like, what are you talking about?
- 18:46Speaker 2: And also, we all know that. We all know. We do?
- 18:48Speaker 3: Right, right.
- 18:50Speaker 2: No, we don't. How?
- 18:51Speaker 1: Can you tie it together for me? And of course
- 18:53Speaker 1: she cannot. Maybe she could bust out her Venn diagram
- 18:56Speaker 1: and walk us through it. But look, whenever she does
- 18:59Speaker 1: this kind of thing, I don't know about you, but
- 19:00Speaker 1: I'm like, please God, please God, let her run.
- 19:02Speaker 2: Please let her be. Like, I don't want Gavin Newsom
- 19:04Speaker 2: instead of Kamala Harris. I want her.
- 19:06Speaker 1: You know how they say, like, he says he's not
- 19:08Speaker 1: going to run unless she doesn't.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Oh, well, I accept. I want her. I don't want him.
- 19:12Speaker 2: But I don't think she's going. I don't think. She's
- 19:16Speaker 2: got a better chance than Gavin Newsom. I guess I'll
- 19:18Speaker 2: say that.
- 19:19Speaker 1: I don't know whether she's going to run, but I
- 19:20Speaker 1: don't think she's got a better chance than Gavin does,
- 19:22Speaker 1: because I do think the Democrats are worried about running
- 19:23Speaker 1: a woman again. You know, they lost with Hillary. They
- 19:27Speaker 1: lost with Kamala. And because they are not.
- 19:31Speaker 2: Self-aware. They think this is because they.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Were women that they lost. They don't realize that we'd
- 19:36Speaker 1: be happy to vote for a woman, just not those two.
- 19:40Speaker 1: And so I think they're going to be reluctant to
- 19:42Speaker 1: give Kamala another go at it, another bite at that apple.
- 19:45Speaker 1: And they'll probably go with the white Christian man because
- 19:47Speaker 1: they think it's because we're all racist, sexist.
- 19:50Speaker 2: That we didn't vote for those particular two women.
- 19:53Speaker 3: Yeah, which of course is dumb. Do you think that
- 19:56Speaker 3: Gavin Newsom was giving her a very loud signal as
- 19:59Speaker 3: he was pretending to fish with Jake Tapper the other
- 20:01Speaker 3: day in some stream in Montana? He stands there, well,
- 20:04Speaker 3: if she runs, I won't run. He does this. Was
- 20:09Speaker 3: that a code? Look, donors, get her out if you
- 20:12Speaker 3: want me.
- 20:12Speaker 2: Yes, a code not to her, but to the donors. Yes, absolutely.
- 20:14Speaker 3: So that's what it was.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Great way to reach them all on CNN. He's got
- 20:20Speaker 1: like maybe 4,000 viewers and.
- 20:22Speaker 2: They're all Democrat donors. So great.
- 20:25Speaker 1: You've gotten to all of them in one fell swoop.
- 20:27Speaker 1: And he's trying to ratchet up the pressure on her
- 20:30Speaker 1: to get out.
- 20:31Speaker 2: Like you can't do it.
- 20:33Speaker 1: And then sure enough, we got to piece in Politico
- 20:36Speaker 1: right after that, eight of her aides allegedly saying, I
- 20:39Speaker 1: think it was Politico, saying she can't do it. You
- 20:42Speaker 1: had eight aides, five said she's not going to do it.
- 20:44Speaker 1: She's not really building the apparatus. Plus there's a reluctance
- 20:48Speaker 1: within the party to try somebody.
- 20:50Speaker 2: Who's already lost.
- 20:52Speaker 1: And then the other three aides were like, I don't
- 20:54Speaker 1: think so.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Or I'm indifferent. And just one was like, oh, I
- 20:56Speaker 2: think she'll run.
- 20:57Speaker 1: So the party establishment, you know, I think is basically
- 21:02Speaker 1: starting the push to get her out.
- 21:03Speaker 2: Like they'd much prefer him to her. They think he's
- 21:06Speaker 2: got a better chance than she does.
- 21:08Speaker 1: They see AOC coming up and the more establishment wing
- 21:10Speaker 1: doesn't want her. So they've got to get their candidate.
- 21:13Speaker 1: And both of these two are woke warriors. So like
- 21:16Speaker 1: there's no difference there, except one is a loser and
- 21:20Speaker 1: one isn't, you know, he's done pretty well. So I think, yeah,
- 21:24Speaker 1: if you had to put money on it, you'd go
- 21:25Speaker 1: with him.
- 21:26Speaker 3: Can you imagine somebody giving you $ 2 billion and you
- 21:29Speaker 3: not doing whatever it was they wanted you to do?
- 21:31Speaker 3: You give me $ 2 billion and I'll do just about
- 21:33Speaker 3: anything on the planet and I will accomplish it with
- 21:35Speaker 3: that kind of funding. She had $ 2 billion and still
- 21:38Speaker 3: is complaining about it's because she's ethnic this or she's
- 21:41Speaker 3: a female that. And she does appear to feel entitled
- 21:45Speaker 3: to it. You think she's going out there and doing
- 21:46Speaker 3: these events on her own? Is there some apparatus that's saying,
- 21:49Speaker 3: why don't you go out there and let's see how
- 21:50Speaker 3: they feel about you? Because you're right. She sounds half
- 21:53Speaker 3: drunk half the time, putting on a different cadence every
- 21:55Speaker 3: other time, repeats herself the entire time. Why do you
- 21:58Speaker 3: think she is out there? Is this her pushing herself?
- 22:00Speaker 3: Because I think you're right. I think the donors don't
- 22:02Speaker 3: want her.
- 22:04Speaker 1: By the way, go back and listen to her vice
- 22:05Speaker 1: presidential debate with J.D. or her presidential debate with President
- 22:11Speaker 1: Donald Trump. Go see if she sounded like this, the
- 22:14Speaker 1: one with ABC. She didn't sound like that at all.
- 22:17Speaker 1: She sounded like Attorney General Kamala Harris. She sounded normal,
- 22:21Speaker 1: like she wasn't doing any sort of weird.
- 22:26Speaker 2: She's done them all. She was like talking like she
- 22:29Speaker 2: normally talks.
- 22:29Speaker 1: So it's just all an affectation. I do think it's
- 22:33Speaker 1: the it's some wing of the party, because let's face it,
- 22:37Speaker 1: the base of the Democrat Party is black women.
- 22:39Speaker 2: And that's fine.
- 22:40Speaker 1: I mean, but like the assumption that you then have
- 22:42Speaker 1: to be a black woman for them to back you,
- 22:45Speaker 1: I think is nonsense. You know, I think they backed
- 22:47Speaker 1: Bill Clinton very happily. I think in the end they
- 22:50Speaker 1: came behind Joe Biden, too. And I think they'd go
- 22:52Speaker 1: behind most Democrats who are somewhat normal. The problem with
- 22:56Speaker 1: Kamala Harris is like that's all she had to appeal
- 22:59Speaker 1: to them was her skin color and her lady parts.
- 23:01Speaker 2: And like, that's only going to get you so far.
- 23:03Speaker 1: But I do think there is a constituency within the
- 23:06Speaker 1: Democrat party that believes those are the most important things
- 23:09Speaker 1: if you want to get elected as a Democrat. And
- 23:11Speaker 1: certainly if you want to win a Democrat primary, I just,
- 23:15Speaker 1: I think it underestimates black women, first of all. And
- 23:18Speaker 1: I think it's just very short-sighted in terms of like
- 23:20Speaker 1: what actually would resonate in the long term.
- 23:23Speaker 2: Like, but Kamala Harris, Everyone knows she has no talent. Like,
- 23:27Speaker 2: all you have to do is listen to her for
- 23:28Speaker 2: two minutes to.
- 23:29Speaker 1: Realize she has none of the gifts that their biggest
- 23:32Speaker 1: players have, from Michelle Obama to Barack Obama to Bill
- 23:36Speaker 1: Clinton and even Gavin Newsom, though he's very weird.
- 23:39Speaker 2: He's very, like, doped up, it looks like, with the hands.
- 23:42Speaker 2: It looks like he's had too.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Much Adderall and, like, too much caffeine and, like, the
- 23:46Speaker 1: guy out on the runway. He's very distracting.
- 23:50Speaker 2: He's not nearly as smooth as he kind of gets
- 23:52Speaker 2: credit for. But he's good looking. He's got the widow's peak, which,
- 23:56Speaker 2: you know, women seem to like.
- 23:57Speaker 3: Whatever. Gavin Newsom is such a fraud. It is somebody
- 24:00Speaker 3: who's not a fraud. Megyn Kelly. Go check out Megyn
- 24:02Speaker 3: everywhere where she is. Her platforms are blowing up. She's
- 24:05Speaker 3: number one across the board and number one in my
- 24:08Speaker 3: heart for sure. Let's talk about the DSA a little bit.
- 24:11Speaker 3: The DSA is worrisome. I'm here in Texas, as you know.
- 24:15Speaker 3: We met up in San Antonio not long ago. James
- 24:18Speaker 3: Tallarico is a scary candidate. First of all, he speaks
- 24:21Speaker 3: like Barack Obama. And I think they're all going to
- 24:23Speaker 3: this school now to speak like Barack Obama. It's effective
- 24:27Speaker 3: for some unfortunate reason. Obama was great at it. Everybody else,
- 24:30Speaker 3: like John Ossoff in Georgia, they all try to act
- 24:32Speaker 3: like that. This guy, Greg Kassar, who's out in front
- 24:34Speaker 3: of this ice shooting now.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Josh Shapiro.
- 24:36Speaker 3: Right. They all speak that way. And it's so freaking weird.
- 24:39Speaker 3: But Tallarico is a real problem because he's lying about
- 24:42Speaker 3: his faith. He's lying about just about everything that he's
- 24:45Speaker 3: ever said in his recent history. And he's like tied
- 24:48Speaker 3: with Ken Paxton. So is that a service of Ken
- 24:51Speaker 3: Paxton personally being less effective than we would like? As
- 24:56Speaker 3: Attorney General, he was very effective. He's a very good
- 24:58Speaker 3: Attorney General for Texas. Or is this an affectation of
- 25:02Speaker 3: a guy like Tallarico just jumping on every bandwagon over
- 25:06Speaker 3: the past 10, 15 years to see what worked for
- 25:08Speaker 3: the left and just lie his way into the job?
- 25:10Speaker 3: What do you think is going on with the DSA
- 25:12Speaker 3: and why they're being so successful so far?
- 25:15Speaker 2: I mean, I think.
- 25:16Speaker 1: The Texas problem is a function of Ken Paxton. It's,
- 25:20Speaker 1: you know, by all rights, this guy should be getting creamed. Talafrico,
- 25:25Speaker 1: as Trump accurately calls him. How can this guy be
- 25:28Speaker 1: winning in Texas? Texans, we rely on you to stop
- 25:32Speaker 1: people like this from coming to the U.S.
- 25:34Speaker 2: Senate. Where are you?
- 25:35Speaker 1: You've got to make sure that you go out and
- 25:36Speaker 1: vote this guy down. But I think there are a
- 25:39Speaker 1: few problems here. I think like, I actually don't know
- 25:41Speaker 1: Ken Paxton at all. I just know what I read
- 25:44Speaker 1: about him. And what I read about him is how
- 25:46Speaker 1: unpopular he is in the state of Texas, according to
- 25:49Speaker 1: the polls. There was just a piece out today that,
- 25:51Speaker 1: you know, did a little focus group.
- 25:53Speaker 2: And it was like all of them were like, he's
- 25:55Speaker 2: a fraud. He's a con man. He's dishonest. He's a cheater.
- 25:58Speaker 1: He's it was like, oh, well, that's not great for
- 26:02Speaker 1: our Republican nominee. It was known that he was going
- 26:05Speaker 1: to have some of these problems. And I think people
- 26:06Speaker 1: rolled the dice and said, we don't want the establishment type.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Cornyn is all, you know, about his donors and he's
- 26:11Speaker 1: controlled by his donors.
- 26:13Speaker 2: We don't want that.
- 26:14Speaker 1: But unfortunately, the little lily pad they leaped off onto
- 26:17Speaker 1: has got a lot of problems and seems to be
- 26:19Speaker 1: sinking as we speak. And Talafrico has the ability to.
- 26:24Speaker 2: Smooth talk when he's in the right setting.
- 26:27Speaker 1: And unfortunately, one of the people he's managed to woo
- 26:31Speaker 1: is Joe Rogan, who seems to really like him a
- 26:34Speaker 1: lot and has some influence, including in Texas. And really
- 26:39Speaker 1: seems to be like vouching for this guy. And I'm
- 26:41Speaker 1: actually kind of worried that we're going to see this guy, Tallarico,
- 26:43Speaker 1: on Joe Rogan right before the vote to push last
- 26:46Speaker 1: minute people over the edge.
- 26:48Speaker 2: But, you know, their disdain.
- 26:50Speaker 1: For Paxton seems to be something they're having trouble getting over.
- 26:55Speaker 1: And at a minimum, those people will stay home. You know,
- 26:59Speaker 1: like they don't feel motivated to go out and pull
- 27:01Speaker 1: the lever for him. So we're in a dangerous position
- 27:04Speaker 1: down there. It's not it's not it's not great.
- 27:06Speaker 3: I thought it was hilarious how Trump said he doesn't
- 27:08Speaker 3: look very good, doesn't speak very well, but he's really
- 27:10Speaker 3: good at the job when he was talking about Ken
- 27:12Speaker 3: Paxton at that event a couple of weeks ago. Tallarico
- 27:15Speaker 3: is a problem because you're right, Rogan platforms him a lot.
- 27:18Speaker 3: And he said that Christianity supports abortion. He said that
- 27:22Speaker 3: God is non-binary. He said that he loves the trans kids.
- 27:25Speaker 3: There are six genders. That's just the beginning of it.
- 27:27Speaker 3: They have undercover video now of his pastor from his
- 27:30Speaker 3: so-called Presbyterian church. It can't be where she's saying this
- 27:33Speaker 3: is a church that is not really about religion.
- 27:36Speaker 2: What? And that they want Donald Trump assassinated.
- 27:39Speaker 3: Right. And that doesn't seem to move the polls. It's
- 27:43Speaker 3: like a dead heat here in Texas. Let me ask
- 27:45Speaker 3: you this. Why was Donald Trump able to rise above
- 27:48Speaker 3: all of the philandering, all of the page six stuff
- 27:52Speaker 3: that he literally did, and still people love the guy,
- 27:55Speaker 3: whereas Ken Paxton has a lot of that same baggage,
- 27:57Speaker 3: and they're not giving him a pass? What's the difference?
- 28:00Speaker 3: One's dynamic, one is not? I mean, is that all
- 28:02Speaker 3: it takes?
- 28:02Speaker 2: In a word, charm.
- 28:05Speaker 3: Okay.
- 28:05Speaker 2: Paxton has none of it, not from what I've seen.
- 28:08Speaker 1: And he doesn't, you know, he can't turn what he's
- 28:12Speaker 1: done around into something that like, you're like, oh, he's
- 28:14Speaker 1: a bon vivant, you know, like, oh, this is just
- 28:17Speaker 1: who he is.
- 28:17Speaker 2: Right.
- 28:18Speaker 1: Whereas Trump, always with a wink and a nod, kind
- 28:21Speaker 1: of gave you like a little wiggle room on the denials,
- 28:24Speaker 1: you know, like enough to say like, well, I don't
- 28:26Speaker 1: believe it, but like he kind of, like with Marla Maples,
- 28:29Speaker 1: you know, like next thing you know, you'd be reading
- 28:31Speaker 1: about how it was the best sex she ever had, allegedly,
- 28:33Speaker 1: and somebody in the background, you know, you know, was
- 28:36Speaker 1: allegedly verifying it, you know, named John Miller or whatever
- 28:39Speaker 1: his code name was when he was calling the page
- 28:42Speaker 1: six about himself.
- 28:43Speaker 2: Remember, he was acting as a self-PR person.
- 28:46Speaker 3: People thought that was funny. They literally have an audio
- 28:48Speaker 3: tape of him calling in on behalf of him, and
- 28:51Speaker 3: then he later said it wasn't him. Like, you could
- 28:52Speaker 3: hear it's totally Donald Trump. So he was the master
- 28:55Speaker 3: of that. Is that what it is about PR and
- 28:57Speaker 3: Ken Paxton's horrible at it?
- 28:58Speaker 2: Well, we knew him. We knew him. That's the other thing. Like,
- 29:01Speaker 2: nobody knew who Ken Paxton was, really. I mean, before
- 29:04Speaker 2: he got into politics.
- 29:05Speaker 1: But like Trump had years in New York and then
- 29:08Speaker 1: nationwide is like being this character, this like beloved billionaire
- 29:12Speaker 1: who would sort of mouth off and say some really
- 29:15Speaker 1: smart and sometimes some really controversial, crazy, fun things. And
- 29:19Speaker 1: there was like an affection for the guy.
- 29:21Speaker 2: I don't know. He's like sort of part of the
- 29:22Speaker 2: New York landscape and part of the American landscape. Yeah.
- 29:25Speaker 2: And no one cared what happened between Trump and his ex-wives.
- 29:27Speaker 2: It was like, whatever.
- 29:28Speaker 1: That's like some eccentric billionaire. And then he came on
- 29:32Speaker 1: the national stage and started.
- 29:33Speaker 2: Owning it all. Like he wasn't really owning the marital infidelities.
- 29:36Speaker 1: But like when he's like, yeah, you know, i've bought
- 29:38Speaker 1: and paid for all these politicians sure i donated to
- 29:40Speaker 1: hillary why how do you think you know i understand
- 29:43Speaker 1: what she does and how corrupt she is right and
- 29:45Speaker 1: owned it and said he was going to sort of
- 29:46Speaker 1: be in there exposing these these secrets on our behalf
- 29:49Speaker 1: now that he was now going to work for us
- 29:51Speaker 1: all of that worked Ken Paxton, he never does press.
- 29:55Speaker 1: He doesn't do, I can't like think of a version
- 29:58Speaker 1: of him speaking on camera and I'm in media and
- 30:02Speaker 1: I'm in right wing media.
- 30:03Speaker 2: So it's like independent, but I'm right leading. Where is he?
- 30:07Speaker 1: Why doesn't he defend himself? Why is the main thing
- 30:09Speaker 1: I know about him that he's a cheater, that he
- 30:12Speaker 1: was brought up on charges within the Texas Senate and
- 30:15Speaker 1: then he was exonerated, but like he was in a
- 30:17Speaker 1: lot of trouble from his own party and that Trump
- 30:19Speaker 1: thinks he's extremely homely.
- 30:21Speaker 2: Like these are the things I know about him.
- 30:24Speaker 3: I've had him on the show a lot of times,
- 30:26Speaker 3: but you're right. Ken is not campaigning at all. And
- 30:29Speaker 3: I don't get it because Tallarico is everywhere. The guy's omnipresent.
- 30:32Speaker 3: Do you think that they're waiting until the last month?
- 30:35Speaker 3: I mean, what are we holding back? First of all,
- 30:37Speaker 3: I don't love that you're only attacking Tallarico. Ken Paxton
- 30:41Speaker 3: will win if he says, I sued Google and I
- 30:43Speaker 3: won for you. I sued to stop online censorship and
- 30:45Speaker 3: I won for you.
- 30:47Speaker 2: The trans thing.
- 30:48Speaker 3: Exactly. Wonderful. He did an incredible job on that. He's
- 30:51Speaker 3: a great attorney general. And they're not flying that flag
- 30:54Speaker 3: at all. They're only going after Talafrico. So, I mean,
- 30:56Speaker 3: I don't know what, if you were in that campaign,
- 30:58Speaker 3: you wouldn't be, but if you were in there helping
- 31:00Speaker 3: him on the campaign, wouldn't you tell him, go hit
- 31:03Speaker 3: the street, man, go do something?
- 31:05Speaker 2: Not just that. I would have him own up to
- 31:08Speaker 2: the marital issues. It's like the Democrats were going to
- 31:11Speaker 2: hold onto that Graham Platner when it was like only
- 31:14Speaker 2: three women who accused him of sexual assault.
- 31:17Speaker 1: It wasn't until the one like went on the record
- 31:20Speaker 1: with the rape claim that they were like, oh, I
- 31:21Speaker 1: guess we got to turf him out.
- 31:23Speaker 2: So it's like, he hasn't been accused of that. Like
- 31:26Speaker 2: marital infidelity.
- 31:27Speaker 1: It's not great, but it's, and I realized it's Texas
- 31:30Speaker 1: and it's deeply Christian, but it's still like, to your point,
- 31:33Speaker 1: they got past it with Trump, but they could probably
- 31:36Speaker 1: forgive him for it.
- 31:37Speaker 2: If he would just be like, I'm so embarrassed.
- 31:40Speaker 1: You know, like I, I'm not proud of this.
- 31:41Speaker 2: This is what happened.
- 31:43Speaker 1: And the other stuff he was exonerated on, I mean,
- 31:45Speaker 1: he should be hitting that more, you know, like, yes,
- 31:47Speaker 1: they threw all this stuff at me, but I was
- 31:49Speaker 1: found not guilty. And now they're just trying to, you know,
- 31:52Speaker 1: hang that around me, but I'm not going to go
- 31:53Speaker 1: trans your kid. I'm not going to be chopping off
- 31:55Speaker 1: penises of five-year-old little boys.
- 31:58Speaker 3: Right.
- 31:58Speaker 2: Right. I'm not in favor of that.
- 32:00Speaker 1: Like this is, We are talking about such an extreme
- 32:04Speaker 1: worldview over on the other side, and somehow he's getting
- 32:08Speaker 1: away with it. I do think, you know, being sort
- 32:10Speaker 1: of blessed by the Joe Rogans of the world, I'm
- 32:11Speaker 1: not blaming Joe Rogan. He can like whatever he likes.
- 32:14Speaker 1: just saying he's a big influence and especially down in Texas.
- 32:17Speaker 1: So I don't know if I were Kim Paxton and
- 32:18Speaker 1: I don't know him, you know him better than I do.
- 32:19Speaker 1: If he has any ability whatsoever to charm, he should charm.
- 32:24Speaker 2: He should go on. I would interview him, but like,
- 32:27Speaker 2: let him try to charm me. I'm charmable. Um, I'm
- 32:30Speaker 2: pretty open-minded. I want him to win.
- 32:32Speaker 1: Um, but he, he's got to do something to change
- 32:35Speaker 1: this game because right now it looks like he's losing.
- 32:38Speaker 3: Breaking news. Megan Kelly is charmable. It is Megan Kelly,
- 32:40Speaker 3: the Megan Kelly show. Go follow her everywhere. Let me
- 32:42Speaker 3: finish with this, and thanks for all the time and
- 32:44Speaker 3: the friendship, as always. Are you as concerned as I am?
- 32:48Speaker 3: You live more in the online space than I do.
- 32:49Speaker 3: I mean, you're also on Sirius, of course, but I'm
- 32:52Speaker 3: on terrestrial radio, so I've got a different thing going there.
- 32:56Speaker 3: But online, my online presence is something I focus on
- 32:59Speaker 3: a lot. I do a lot for online every day.
- 33:00Speaker 3: So do you. You do way more than I do.
- 33:02Speaker 3: Are you as concerned as I am with the fact
- 33:04Speaker 3: that they can misconstrue our words and it sounds like us?
- 33:07Speaker 3: They can show a video and it looks like us?
- 33:09Speaker 3: This AI takeover of online stuff. in the space where
- 33:12Speaker 3: we live is really scary because you can lose somebody
- 33:16Speaker 3: with one video, one sentence, one anything if it's somehow
- 33:21Speaker 3: manipulated by somebody with a machine. Are you afraid of that?
- 33:25Speaker 2: Yes, yes.
- 33:26Speaker 1: I can't stand it. There's an AI video right now
- 33:28Speaker 1: of me out there.
- 33:29Speaker 2: I don't know what.
- 33:30Speaker 1: It has something to do with Russia. I don't know
- 33:32Speaker 1: what it is, but Some people DMed it to me saying,
- 33:34Speaker 1: is this actually you? And it's like, no, but how
- 33:36Speaker 1: are you going to fight against it? It's like teaspoons
- 33:38Speaker 1: in the ocean. You don't even know who came up
- 33:40Speaker 1: with it. And it's like if I went out there
- 33:42Speaker 1: and denied all the false things that are said about
- 33:44Speaker 1: me every day, I'd be doing nothing else. So generally
- 33:46Speaker 1: I just kind of ignore it and hope that over
- 33:48Speaker 1: time people realize this stuff is bullshit. But I really
- 33:51Speaker 1: believe the law has not caught up with the AI
- 33:54Speaker 1: abuses that are out there. And I actually do believe
- 33:57Speaker 1: we need legislation requiring AI videos to be labeled AI.
- 34:03Speaker 1: I really think that's important. People can no longer tell
- 34:07Speaker 1: what's real from what's fake. And that's not our right.
- 34:10Speaker 1: We are entitled to know. And not only is it
- 34:13Speaker 1: necessary for things like this, where people are being misrepresented,
- 34:16Speaker 1: especially if your voice is out there in any meaningful
- 34:18Speaker 1: way or your image, they can make a convincing AI
- 34:20Speaker 1: of you now. But it's important for those of us
- 34:23Speaker 1: who want to buy human, you know, who like in
- 34:26Speaker 1: our movies and our TV presenters and whatever, would prefer
- 34:31Speaker 1: if given the choice to exercise with our dollars, a
- 34:34Speaker 1: preference for humans over AIs, we probably would.
- 34:38Speaker 2: I would. But sometimes it's getting so good, you might
- 34:41Speaker 2: not know. So I really think that there needs to
- 34:43Speaker 2: be legislation.
- 34:44Speaker 1: I'm not usually proposing legislation, but I think there needs
- 34:46Speaker 1: to be some saying, AI must be labeled AI in
- 34:50Speaker 1: all circumstances. And if there's anything out there that's not,
- 34:54Speaker 1: the penalty has to be pretty substantial so that somebody
- 34:57Speaker 1: who is misrepresented can send one nasty legal gram and
- 35:01Speaker 1: that shit gets taken down like that.
- 35:03Speaker 3: Yeah. I'm with you 100%. It's a scary thing. I
- 35:06Speaker 3: was playing a video game yesterday and there are ads
- 35:09Speaker 3: in the game. And an ad came up and it
- 35:11Speaker 3: sounded just like Dave Ramsey trying to sell me something financially.
- 35:14Speaker 3: And it clearly wasn't him. I can still tell a
- 35:16Speaker 3: little bit by the audio. when it's AI versus real,
- 35:19Speaker 3: or even the speech pattern. But it's getting so good
- 35:21Speaker 3: that they will take your popularity, use it for their
- 35:24Speaker 3: own wealth and their own gain, and you get nothing
- 35:27Speaker 3: out of it. So I'm with you about marking it AI,
- 35:29Speaker 3: but I think the nefarious players aren't going to mark anything.
- 35:32Speaker 3: They're still going to pretend that it's Megyn Kelly. Something
- 35:34Speaker 3: has to happen, and I'm against over-regulating as well, but
- 35:37Speaker 3: something has to happen to protect people like you and
- 35:39Speaker 3: me and to protect our audiences who are being lied
- 35:41Speaker 3: to through these things. Megan, you're amazing.
- 35:44Speaker 2: Go ahead. It's annoying.
- 35:45Speaker 1: Even if you're not on television or on the camera,
- 35:49Speaker 1: haven't we all been fooled 10,000 times by like.
- 35:51Speaker 2: Oh my God, that baby seal is so cute.
- 35:54Speaker 1: And then your kid is like, that's AI. Like we
- 35:56Speaker 1: have no idea. The older we are, the dumber we
- 35:59Speaker 1: are when it comes to discernment here. And I do
- 36:01Speaker 1: think we could use an assist. It could just be a.
- 36:04Speaker 2: Tiny little thing with AI in a circle or on
- 36:07Speaker 2: the ads with the lady's voice.
- 36:10Speaker 1: This voice was manufactured with AI or whatever, with the
- 36:12Speaker 1: help of AI, however it needs to happen. And I
- 36:15Speaker 1: predict that we will have such a requirement within the
- 36:18Speaker 1: next five years, because this is just about to explode.
- 36:21Speaker 1: It actually hasn't gone full bore. But it's about to
- 36:24Speaker 1: because the technology is getting so much better by the week.
- 36:28Speaker 1: We tried just for kicks like a year ago to
- 36:31Speaker 1: see what would happen if we tried to make my
- 36:33Speaker 1: voice AI, like within the company, just to see.
- 36:36Speaker 2: And it wasn't there yet. It wasn't very good.
- 36:38Speaker 1: And then like six months into it, we tried it again,
- 36:41Speaker 1: and it was perfect. It was scarily perfect.
- 36:44Speaker 3: And the reason why is this race against China, and
- 36:46Speaker 3: that's why they're all stepping it up. We have to win.
- 36:48Speaker 3: We have to beat China. We'll talk about foreign policy
- 36:50Speaker 3: next time, the visit by Xi next time. Thanks for
- 36:53Speaker 3: making time. Keep on kicking ass. I strive to be
- 36:55Speaker 3: like Megyn Kelly every single day, and I'm super proud
- 36:58Speaker 3: of your success.
- 37:00Speaker 2: Okay, and just for the record, this is the real
- 37:01Speaker 2: Joe Pags and the real Megyn Kelly.
- 37:04Speaker 3: Yes, it is. And the real Megyn Kelly, thank you
- 37:06Speaker 3: so much. I appreciate you.
- 37:07Speaker 2: Great to see you.
- 37:08Speaker 3: That's it for this one. Another Unshaken and Unafraid with
- 37:11Speaker 3: Joe Pags to drop very soon. We'll see you then.
