- 0:01Speaker 1: Hey with us right now. Doctor Arthur Perry. You know
- 0:04Speaker 1: he's on w R every Saturday night at six. He's
- 0:07Speaker 1: one of the top plastic surgeons in the world. Doctor
- 0:10Speaker 1: Arthur Perry's website is Perryplastic Surgery dot com.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Right, that's what it is, Mark, And thanks for that intro.
- 0:18Speaker 2: That's what I told you to say.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Anyway, Well, you have a book out to what's the book?
- 0:22Speaker 2: Well, straight talk about cosmetic surgery. I've got a few
- 0:26Speaker 2: of those, but you can still get it on Amazon
- 0:29Speaker 2: dot com.
- 0:30Speaker 1: I hate he's in the studio, as you can hear.
- 0:32Speaker 1: I hate when he looks at me because he's a
- 0:34Speaker 1: plastic surgeon. They always look at you. I could fix that.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Oh that needs work. I gotta fix that.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Well, Mark, I didn't bring the bowtok okay, but you
- 0:41Speaker 2: know I did botox live on Larry Meant It a
- 0:44Speaker 2: couple of weeks ago, and Larry challenged you. He said,
- 0:47Speaker 2: if I can do it, simone can do it.
- 0:50Speaker 1: I'm telling you right now, I can't do it. I'm
- 0:52Speaker 1: not doing it. I don't like needles at traumatic just
- 0:55Speaker 1: to get a flu shot for me. I don't know
- 0:58Speaker 1: how these women come and do this like every month, right.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Well, botox is about every three three four months or so.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Well, okay, but let's say it's a long island every
- 1:05Speaker 1: every two weeks, that's right.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Yeah, No, I I have patients that come every month
- 1:10Speaker 2: or two. They get, as Joan Rivers would say, the
- 1:12Speaker 2: little tweaks, you know, we you know, just have to
- 1:16Speaker 2: keep you looking as good as possible.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Right, yeah, And the boat tox, like I get a
- 1:20Speaker 1: little thing there, could get rid of that.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I'm looking right at Oh mark's not what
- 1:25Speaker 2: time time? Come on, you gotta do it.
- 1:29Speaker 1: But uh so I get this boatox. It fixes all that.
- 1:32Speaker 1: You look much younger. But but what's the side effect?
- 1:35Speaker 1: Very little?
- 1:36Speaker 2: You know, about five percent of people get a headache
- 1:38Speaker 2: for an hour or so. Sometimes you get a bruise.
- 1:41Speaker 2: But boatox is really good. It really is. I'm doing
- 1:44Speaker 2: you know they people clenched their teeth at night, right, yeah,
- 1:47Speaker 2: that massive muscle the Yeah, so I'm injecting boatos into
- 1:51Speaker 2: that too. It reshapes the lower face now really absolutely,
- 1:55Speaker 2: and that lasts almost six months.
- 1:58Speaker 1: What if you have sleep apnea and you gotta like
- 2:00Speaker 1: reposition you jaw a little, can it do that?
- 2:02Speaker 2: No, it's not going to reposition your jaw. No, you
- 2:04Speaker 2: still have to see the sleep doctor for the app there.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Hey, what's this? Keep hearing about this Frankenstein procedure in
- 2:10Speaker 1: plastic surgey? What is that? Mark? This is?
- 2:12Speaker 2: You know I look at these things and this is unbelievable.
- 2:15Speaker 2: So how about this fat injected in your body? Sound
- 2:19Speaker 2: sounds good?
- 2:19Speaker 1: Right?
- 2:20Speaker 2: But most people take their own fat, so we do.
- 2:23Speaker 2: We've been doing fat grafting. I've been doing it since
- 2:25Speaker 2: the nineteen eighties. You know, you take a little from
- 2:27Speaker 2: your your hips and you know, put it in your
- 2:30Speaker 2: nasal labial folds here or yeah, that's that's okay. But
- 2:34Speaker 2: now there's a company that's taking dead fat, cadaver fat.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Can you imagine? Listen to this scenario. You you know,
- 2:43Speaker 2: your family member dies and it's a it's a solemn thing,
- 2:46Speaker 2: and you say, well, we're gonna donate the body to
- 2:50Speaker 2: you know, the organ's, the kidney's heart, everything can be
- 2:53Speaker 2: used by other people. That's such a wonderful thing to
- 2:56Speaker 2: be able to do that. But you know what happens
- 2:58Speaker 2: to the fat. They sell it. They sell it to
- 3:01Speaker 2: these companies that process it. And now there's this company
- 3:05Speaker 2: that sells it to plastic surgeons and they're injecting dead
- 3:10Speaker 2: cadaver fat into you. I can't believe my colleagues are
- 3:14Speaker 2: doing this. I'll be honest. I looked at this and
- 3:16Speaker 2: this is really you wouldn't do it. I will not
- 3:18Speaker 2: do that, you know. I think there's so many issues.
- 3:22Speaker 2: There's ethical issues and just you know, I don't like
- 3:26Speaker 2: the idea of having a dead fat in my body.
- 3:29Speaker 2: You know, if you need a kidney, okay, you need
- 3:31Speaker 2: a kidney, but how about fat mark, I don't know.
- 3:34Speaker 1: So you have organ donors, then you could also if
- 3:36Speaker 1: you wanted to donate your fat to the Jentas of
- 3:39Speaker 1: the Upper east Side to be used.
- 3:41Speaker 2: In It's it's unbelievable. So what people are doing, they're
- 3:44Speaker 2: donating their entire body and they have no idea that
- 3:47Speaker 2: their fat is going to you know, some woman on
- 3:50Speaker 2: the Upper east Side who wants a larger buttocks. Can
- 3:53Speaker 2: you imagine that?
- 3:54Speaker 1: Really?
- 3:55Speaker 2: I don't know, so I'm not in on that one.
- 3:58Speaker 2: I call it the franken Sign procedure, because when you
- 4:01Speaker 2: get dead fat in your buttocks, you know, so all right,
- 4:05Speaker 2: to the credit of the company, you know, there's apparently
- 4:08Speaker 2: no infectious diseases that can be transmitted, although although mad
- 4:12Speaker 2: cow disease we can't check for so whenever you get
- 4:15Speaker 2: someone else's tissue, there's always that small chance. But they
- 4:21Speaker 2: devitalize it, so it's really only a scaffold. It's like
- 4:24Speaker 2: a sponge. You know, there used to be live animals
- 4:26Speaker 2: and a sponge, right, the real sponges. Yeah, but they
- 4:29Speaker 2: kill those and you use those to clean your sink.
- 4:34Speaker 1: I would tighten my neck if I don't have the
- 4:36Speaker 1: nerve to do this. But you can do it more, No,
- 4:38Speaker 1: I really you really can't. You really can. But what
- 4:41Speaker 1: these people keep telling you, Well, could just get laser.
- 4:43Speaker 1: What was all this laser stuff?
- 4:44Speaker 2: So laser is huge right now, it really is. And
- 4:47Speaker 2: it's a good time of the year because here we
- 4:48Speaker 2: are in the winter. You know, everybody, it's going to
- 4:50Speaker 2: be like four degrees this weekend in New.
- 4:53Speaker 1: York, right.
- 4:53Speaker 2: So the laser is a tool and it it actually
- 4:58Speaker 2: creates a little injury. Say, why would we want to
- 5:01Speaker 2: injure ourselves? Well, many of the things we use in
- 5:04Speaker 2: plastic surgery are controlled injuries. And the laser heats up
- 5:08Speaker 2: the tissue and when it does that, it shrinks it. Right,
- 5:11Speaker 2: it's the bacon in the frying pan effect, right, you know,
- 5:13Speaker 2: you have this big piece of bacon and by the
- 5:16Speaker 2: time you eat it, those of you who eat the
- 5:18Speaker 2: bacon anyway, So it shrinks the tissue and it also
- 5:22Speaker 2: generates collagen. Collagen is the structural layer of the skin,
- 5:25Speaker 2: and it thins as we get older. Right, you lose
- 5:28Speaker 2: about one percent per year. So Mark, you're forty years old,
- 5:31Speaker 2: you've lost ten percent of your collagen so far. So
- 5:34Speaker 2: what the laser can do. That's a tool. And I
- 5:36Speaker 2: can set it like a light bulb. You know, you
- 5:39Speaker 2: can have a remember the twenty five waters and the
- 5:41Speaker 2: one hundred. Well they don't have those anymore. They do,
- 5:43Speaker 2: but you have to get the LEDs now. But you
- 5:47Speaker 2: can set the laser. I can make it so it
- 5:49Speaker 2: just exfoliates you. Or in the thirty year olds, I
- 5:53Speaker 2: might do just a very light laser around the earliest
- 5:57Speaker 2: wrinkles around the eyes. Right, But if you get to
- 6:00Speaker 2: be about seventy, you really need the full force of
- 6:02Speaker 2: that laser, and I could if I want it, I
- 6:04Speaker 2: could remove the skin and go down to the bone
- 6:06Speaker 2: with wazer. Oh yeah, so this laser drills little tiny
- 6:09Speaker 2: holes in the skin and the new versions it's called
- 6:12Speaker 2: a fractionated laser, and so you don't lose your skin.
- 6:17Speaker 2: After the procedure, you look like you know, you were
- 6:20Speaker 2: near Chernobyl for a little while, and your face looks
- 6:23Speaker 2: a little red, a little gray, and the next day
- 6:25Speaker 2: it looks terrible. You don't answer the door. If they
- 6:28Speaker 2: bring the pizza, you say, just leave it there, and
- 6:30Speaker 2: you know, I'll slide the money under the door because
- 6:32Speaker 2: you look absolutely terrible for about five, six, seven days.
- 6:36Speaker 2: But when the skin peels off like a sunburn, you
- 6:39Speaker 2: look great, really, and all the little brown spots peel
- 6:42Speaker 2: off and a lot of the wrinkles go away. And
- 6:45Speaker 2: the deeper I go, the more wrinkles go away. So
- 6:47Speaker 2: the lasers are really nice procedure. I'm doing a lot
- 6:50Speaker 2: of lasers this year.
- 6:51Speaker 1: And how often you have to do that, I'll lose it.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Lest It depends on how deep we go. So if
- 6:54Speaker 2: it's a very superficial laser, it might be once a year.
- 6:57Speaker 2: But if it's the deep laser, I have patients that
- 7:01Speaker 2: look good for eighteen years. I think that's one of
- 7:04Speaker 2: my longest patients after the laser. Yeah, yeah, So it's
- 7:07Speaker 2: a very long lasting effect.
- 7:09Speaker 1: All right, well you can see doctor, it's good. Go
- 7:11Speaker 1: to Perryplasticsurgery dot com. That's the website, peryplastic Surgery dot com.
- 7:18Speaker 1: All this ozimpic all over the place. People lose all
- 7:21Speaker 1: this weight ozempic. But then I look at their face
- 7:23Speaker 1: and it's kind of sinking and you must have to
- 7:26Speaker 1: fix a lot of that.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's the uh, the deflated face after ozempic.
- 7:31Speaker 2: You know, ozempic zebound. They are great drugs, they really are. Uh,
- 7:36Speaker 2: but you lose weight. And when you lose weight rapidly,
- 7:39Speaker 2: you sag so in the neck, the breast sag, the
- 7:42Speaker 2: belly SAgs so, and the mark, the vulva, okay, the laby,
- 7:48Speaker 2: you know, everywhere it SAgs. So you know, we plump
- 7:52Speaker 2: those areas up. We use We use fat, but I
- 7:55Speaker 2: use your fat, not some someone from a morgue. No,
- 8:00Speaker 2: you know, I would use your own live fat or
- 8:02Speaker 2: better yet, just things like wrestling or Jupiter and those
- 8:05Speaker 2: are those are really good fillers. We plump up the cheeks,
- 8:09Speaker 2: plump up the lips, plump We have to do a
- 8:11Speaker 2: breast lift, though, and a facelift and a tummy tuck.
- 8:14Speaker 1: If you've really lost a lot of weight. Yeah. Yeah,
- 8:17Speaker 1: so you can plump up your lips. That looks pretty
- 8:20Speaker 1: good when it's done right.
- 8:21Speaker 2: But as long as it's done right, yeah, those ducks.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Yeah, but you know, if you go to Florida, you'll
- 8:27Speaker 1: see a lot of they look like Goodyear tires those lips.
- 8:30Speaker 2: So you know something there. You would think that a
- 8:33Speaker 2: board certified plastic surgeon would be doing those procedures, but
- 8:37Speaker 2: there are nurses, there are dentists, podia trists. It's incredible.
- 8:43Speaker 2: Why did Willie Sutton rob banks Mark? You know, you know,
- 8:46Speaker 2: because that's where the money is and why are all
- 8:47Speaker 2: these people that are not trained to do it doing it?
- 8:51Speaker 2: Because there's a lot of money in it, unfortunately, but
- 8:53Speaker 2: you get what you pay for. And if you if
- 8:56Speaker 2: you have an artist doing your work, like a plastic surgeon,
- 8:59Speaker 2: then you would look pretty good. And if you have
- 9:02Speaker 2: a house painter, I don't know.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Yeah, that's why when you if you want botex the
- 9:08Speaker 1: dentist can do it, the dermatologist, the hairdresser, but you
- 9:13Speaker 1: really need the expert plastic surgeon to know exactly where
- 9:16Speaker 1: to do it and how to do it right.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Well, you know, I think certainly, there are dermatologists that
- 9:20Speaker 2: are very very good at this, and facial plastic surgeons.
- 9:23Speaker 2: They are odelaryngologists and plastic surgeons. Those are the ones
- 9:26Speaker 2: that are really the most appropriate. But the truth is,
- 9:31Speaker 2: you know, you see emergency room doctors they've decided they've
- 9:34Speaker 2: had enough with the pit and they're going to you know,
- 9:37Speaker 2: they're going to open up their place and hire a
- 9:41Speaker 2: few nurses and train them for maybe a couple hours.
- 9:44Speaker 2: Do you know, seriously, you can get certified in botox
- 9:49Speaker 2: in a two hour course with a half hour lunch break.
- 9:51Speaker 2: What it's not a real certification. It's just this diploma
- 9:54Speaker 2: on the wall, the shorter the course, the bigger the
- 9:57Speaker 2: diploma on the wall. It's really it's the wild West
- 10:01Speaker 2: out there. You have to be very careful who does
- 10:03Speaker 2: your procedures? All right, well, doctor Perry, thanks for coming in.
- 10:06Speaker 1: Everybody. You can listen to doctor Perry. He's on every

- 10:22Speaker 1: book which is called Straight Talk about Cosmetic Surgery. And
- 10:26Speaker 1: don't forget those products. Mark we are Yeah, you make
- 10:28Speaker 1: a lot of shameless plug for you know Amazon, the products. Sure, yeah,
- 10:32Speaker 1: you can get his products on Amazon. But the best
- 10:34Speaker 1: thing go to his website. Look over everything. Go to
- 10:36Speaker 1: Perry Plastic Surgery dot com. Perry Plastic Surgery dot com.
- 10:42Speaker 1: You'll see everything there. Doctor Arthur Perry, thanks for being
- 10:46Speaker 1: with us.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Thanks Mark, and next time botox in the studio keep dreaming. No,
- 10:52Speaker 2: he does great work, but I don't like needles anywhere.
- 10:55Speaker 2: I mean again, to get a flu shot is traumatic
- 10:59Speaker 2: for me.
- 11:00Speaker 1: It's a little valium. Then beforehand we'll do it.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Mark, Well, well we'll get you there. I'm going to
- 11:06Speaker 2: make a prediction sometime in the next year, you're going
- 11:09Speaker 2: to do this.
- 11:09Speaker 1: I don't think so, but it looks like he did
- 11:12Speaker 1: it to Larry Mint. It looked great anyway, Doctor Arthur Perry,
- 11:14Speaker 1: thanks for being with us. Hey, don't forget Buck and
- 11:16Speaker 1: Clay coming up at noon today on seven to ten
