  But first, it is Tuesday. Time for a little bit of Tuesday

  positivity slash motivation. And this quote I've seen a few

  times on social media over the past couple weeks, and I've seen

  it attributed to a couple different people, But definitely
• 0:32
  just something to stop and think about.

  And that quote is everyone is fighting a battle you know
• 0:37
  nothing about. Be kind, always.
• 0:40
  And I think that's just good advice.
• 0:41
  You never know what somebody's going through.
• 0:43
  We talk about a lot at work with the students.
• 0:47
  Just, you don't know, everybody's trauma as we call
• 0:50
  it, is different and you just don't know what happened that
• 0:53
  day. So even if it's just saying
• 0:55
  hello, asking questions, showing interest, just being nice to
• 1:00
  somebody because you never know how that could just turn around
• 1:02
  someone's day. And I know it's kind of cheesy,
• 1:05
  Mr. Roger Ish. But at the same time, I mean, it
• 1:08
  works for kids, but it works for adults.
• 1:10
  I mean, sometimes holding the door open for someone or just, I
• 1:15
  don't know, just saying hello, even making eye contact, just
• 1:19
  little things like that. Just be kind.

  Because again, you never know. Everybody's fighting something.

  Some days are worse than others, some things are bigger than
• 1:27
  others, but you just never know. So just be kind.

  And if you take anything away from today's Tuesday message,

  just just be kind to everyone and just work at it.

  Don't. It's one thing to say, but it's

  another thing to actually go out and do it.

  And and just like I said, if you're being kind is simply just

  not being mean to someone, that's okay.

  All right, well, we have an update on as the Harden turns

  and Patrick Beverly decided to put in his two cents.

  He was asked what he would say or how he feels and he wants

  Harden to stay. Didn't come out and say it but

  the speculation is part of the reason he possibly did sign with
• 7:58
  the Sixers was due to James Harden.

  They did play together in Houston.

  So we'll we'll see. So that's two back-to-back days

  on 2 veteran players Joe and now Beverly saying hey we want you
• 8:12
  to come back Harden. I I think we're going to find

  there's there's not going to be. The Sixers aren't going to be
• 8:17
  able to get what they want for Harden because Harden's not
• 8:20
  going to be able to be he's he's overvaluing himself and I mean
• 8:24
  it is what it is. But we'll see.

  But more updates on as the Harden turns tomorrow because

  I'm sure it'll be another one. Flyers made a couple moves

  resigned winger Noah Coats to a twoyear extension kind of a

  prove it deal. I like it.

  They avoided arbitration with this and as a rebuilding team
• 8:42
  they're looking for guys that want to step up and and I mean I
• 8:45
  think this is the perfect move for both sides.

  They've also resigned Cam York to defenseman Cam York to a two
• 8:51
  year deal. So we shall see.

  I like the moves that should be a lot of growing pains next
• 8:58
  year, but it should be steps and pains that that lead to to

  growth in the future. All right, so today we're going

  to go all the way back to 2005, and on this day, July 11th,

  2005, it was the Major League Baseball Home Run Derby at
• 9:15
  Detroit's Comerica Park. And there was one by no other
• 9:19
  than the Phillies own Bobby Abreu.

  He hit a record for then 41 home runs, 24 in the first round.
• 9:28
  Different rules back then. I think Vlad Greer Junior won it
• 9:33
  with like 90 some home runs or whatever last night, but back
• 9:37
  then, different rules, but 41 at the time.
• 9:40
  And when he had 24, that was like an insane.
• 9:43
  I remember it was an obscene amount that he hit.
• 9:45
  It was the first of two consecutive Phillies to actually
• 9:48
  win the Home Run Derby. Ryan Howard wanted the next year
• 9:52
  and they still remain to be the only two.
• 9:55
  But Bobby Abreu is one of those guys that everybody has a very
• 9:59
  strong opinion on. Bobby Abreu one way or the
• 10:02
  other. In eight, four years in Philly,
• 10:06
  he was traded halfway through the 2006 season.

  I mean he average. His average was three O 5
• 10:11
  average, 23 homers, 94RBI's, 38 double s He was a five time vote
• 10:18
  getter in the MVP race, two time Allstar average 29 stolen bases.
• 10:24
  He was durable. He did not miss a ton of games
• 10:28
  due to injury, just only days off here or there.
• 10:31
  He did win a Gold Glove more on that in a minute, but it was
• 10:35
  just consistent. You knew you're putting him out
• 10:37
  in right field. He he was going to probably go
• 10:39
  one for three, probably not going to run, score, run and and
• 10:45
  you just knew what you were getting with him.
• 10:47
  But he did have a nonchalant attitude, I guess would be a
• 10:51
  good way to describe it. That sometimes came off as he
• 10:54
  didn't put in the effort or didn't really try, even on
• 10:57
  defense. And I know there's certain
• 10:59
  people out there like my brother who would go and say Bobby Bray
• 11:02
  was a terrible defensive player, just kind of loafed and and
• 11:06
  whatever, and that the Gold Glove was just more based on his
• 11:11
  offensive statistics than anything.
• 11:14
  But like I said, I mean people are either pro Bobby or anti
• 11:17
  Bobby. He's one of those guys.
• 11:19
  It's very polarizing in this city.
• 11:22
  But I will say even after the trade, ironically enough, after
• 11:25
  the trade they went on a little run in 2006 and they got better
• 11:28
  when they got rid of him And then 2007 is when they they
• 11:32
  ended up went in the division. But I will say he's a borderline
• 11:35
  Hall of Famer and in recent years he's been getting more and
• 11:39
  more sort of support on that based on just how consistent his
• 11:44
  numbers were. I don't know.
• 11:47
  I mean personally, and this might rub some some Phillies
• 11:52
  fans the wrong way. I would love to.
• 11:53
  I'm sure there's a take on 2008 Phillips for this, but if Scott
• 11:58
  Rowland is a Hall of Famer, I feel Bobby O'brary was a Hall of
• 12:01
  Famer. And I'm not a Scott Rowland fan,
• 12:03
  so let me preface it with that. But I think if you're going to
• 12:06
  put Scott Rowland in, Bobby Abreu was maybe not as good
• 12:09
  defensively, but offensively, I put his numbers right up there
• 12:13
  with with Scott Rowland during their time in Philly.
• 12:16

  So Speaking of Bobby Abreu, he might not be the best of all

  first round action and in the Flyers Regional yesterday the

  9697 team, the three seed, did knock off the number six seed,

  2009 2010 with 67% of the vote. They will move on to the second

  round, and why not Today We're just sticking with the Phils.

  It's all Phils today on a Major League Allstar Break edition of
• 13:31
  this day in Philly sports history.

  And today we have the number four seed, the 1915 Phillies
• 13:38
  versus the number five seed, the 1983 Phillies.
• 13:42
  Now, none of us were alive for the 1915 team, but they did go
• 13:46
  1962. They won the National League by
• 13:49
  seven games over the Boston Braves.
• 13:52
  It was the first Pennant in Philly's team history.
• 13:56
  Side note, and we talked about Sherry McGee knocking out the
• 14:00
  umpire yesterday. He was not on this team.
• 14:03
  He was traded the offseason before, so he did not get to
• 14:08
  enjoy the the the fruits of the Phillies Pennant labor.
• 14:13
  But that pitching staff allowed the fewest runs in the league.

  Hall of Famer Grover Cleveland Alexander had one of the best
• 14:20
  seasons for a pitcher ever. He won the pitching Triple Crown
• 14:23
  with a 31 in 10 record, a 1.22 ER, a 36 complete games, 12
• 14:31
  shutouts, 241 strikeouts in 376 and the third innings.
• 14:36
  Gabby Kravith was the leading hitter.
• 14:39
  He hit 285, led the Major League Majors in home runs with 24115
• 14:45
  RBI's as well as a 510 slugging. He led the National League and
• 14:50
  runs, walks, total bases on base and OPS.
• 14:54
  So just an allaround great year for the fields and a very
• 14:57
  underrated team in the pantheon of Philly.

  Just Philadelphia sports teams, probably because it happened in
• 15:06
  1915. And I mean I had a couple great
• 15:09
  grandparents who were teenagers then, but I was never, I met
• 15:12
  them, never able to really be old enough to have a
• 15:15
  conversation about them because unfortunately they passed.
• 15:18
  They did lose to the Red Sox four games to one in the World
• 15:21
  Series. They won the first game and then
• 15:24
  all of the rest of the games they lost were one run games.
• 15:27
  So they were in it. They just couldn't get over the
• 15:29
  hump of the Red Red Sox. And then it would also take,
• 15:33
  what, 35 more years before they would get back to another World
• 15:37
  Series? All right, on the other side of
• 15:39
  the bracket, you have the number five seed, the 83 Phillies.
• 15:43
  They went 90 and 72, won the NL East by six games.
• 15:47
  So very similar. They were nicknamed the Wiis
• 15:50
  Kids as a play on the Wiz kids from the 1950s, mainly because
• 15:55
  they had guys Joe Morgan, Tony Perez, Pete Rose, Ron Reed, Bill
• 15:59
  Robinson, Steve Carlton and Tug McGraw who were all 38 years old
• 16:04
  or older. They did fire the manager
• 16:08
  mid-july Pack Corrales that year just because it wasn't going
• 16:12
  well. After Paul Owens came in, they
• 16:16
  took over as manager. They went on a nice little run,
• 16:19
  took over first for good in mid-september.

  They played the Dodgers in the NLCS, who they went one and 11
• 16:26
  against in the regular season, so it figured to be a Dodgers
• 16:29
  route. Phillies came out, beat them
• 16:31
  three games to one. They won one game, one of the
• 16:35
  World Series, against the Orioles, and then lost four
• 16:37
  straight. So both of these teams in 1915,
• 16:40
  in a 1983 team, were up one game to nothing in the World Series
• 16:44
  before losing four straight. It was 10 seasons from this for
• 16:48
  this team before they would get back in 93 as I always do played
• 16:52
  this game out on what if sports and the 1915 team won six games
• 16:58
  to four. All of them are very very close
• 17:01
  games but the 1915 live by Grover Cleveland Alexander
• 17:05
  pulled away and beat the the Wiis kids of 1983.
