- 0:00They're going to have a ton of money to spend.
- 0:01Why not put it in one of the top three offensive players in the
- 0:05league? We're going to be looking at
- 0:14Aaron Judge and saying that he can't win the big game, Michael
- 0:17Jordan said. I played 82 games.
- 0:20You don't see the fun doing that a game.
- 0:22Where you got to go? Before I told you, Giant fans,
- 0:26Saquon Barkley, You're listening to Jabba and
- 1:28the Mouth Mouth 6. 316-7231 O 8 is the number to call.
- 1:37You're listening to Jabba and the mouth.
- 1:42You know who I am. They call me the mouth.
- 1:44My name is Errol Marx, my Co host Speedy Petey, executive
- 1:49producer Mr. Aaron Fish, Fishman on the board.
- 1:52Tommy Poops, remember, you can go to our website at
- 1:56www.worldwidesportsradio.com. Check out all our shows
- 2:01throughout the week including Jabba and the Mouth, every
- 2:04single Mondays and Thursdays at 6:45 PM.
- 2:08All you have to do to tune in and check out our local listings
- 2:11for all our shows is go to our website at
- 2:13www.worldwidesportsradio.com. If everybody wants to know what
- 2:18happened tonight, it's very simple.
- 2:21We, me and Speedy went over there to 495 Elite.
- 2:24The combine. We got a chance to meet some of
- 2:26the kids, some of the coaches here in Long Island, New York.
- 2:29As we're working on the Long Island mouth, what is a which,
- 2:34which is going to be built as a youth and high school
- 2:37programming, which we're going to go out there and promote Long
- 2:41Island sports here in Suffolk, in Nassau County.
- 2:44We're going to be working with all the kids, all the coaches,
- 2:47all the parents, building opportunity for NIL deals for
- 2:50these kids and possibly full college scholarships.
- 2:54So that's what we're doing. So we were out there tonight and
- 2:58yesterday in the cold, the freezing cold, with our butts
- 3:02being frozen, our hands, our feet, getting numbers,
- 3:06interacting, kissing babies, doing all that stuff.
- 3:09So that's what we were doing. So we started tonight's show at
- 3:136:45 because we were on a football field for the last, I
- 3:16would say probably 3 hours. That's what, speedy 3 hours?
- 3:22Yeah, just about that. Three hours of time and energy,
- 3:26but we had a lot of fun. We can't argue about that.
- 3:28And I, I, I want to give a shout out to Ben and Mr. Fallardi for
- 3:33working out and, and getting us an opportunity to meet the
- 3:36parents, the kids and, and just interacting with people.
- 3:39And it was fun. It really was.
- 3:41I it's just freezing. This is the time of year when
- 3:44you're out on a football field. If you're not moving and you're
- 3:47not jumping or running, you're going to be cold.
- 3:50And that's what we were. We were just standing.
- 3:52Speedy's hands were shivering. He was just absolutely couldn't,
- 3:55he couldn't take the weather. So, yeah, it was one of those
- 3:59days. It's none of those days.
- 4:01Little Limp Bizkit over there. But yeah, so we, we enjoyed our
- 4:04time over there. It wasn't raining.
- 4:06It wasn't windy, but it was just, it was just right.
- 4:10Ladies and gentlemen, Venezuela beat the United States Street at
- 4:132:00 to win their first ever World Baseball Classic title.
- 4:18Venezuela got their first run by a sacrifice fly by Mikkel Garcia
- 4:25in the third inning, and then Wyler Abreu hit a home run in
- 4:33the fifth inning, both off of Nolan McClain.
- 4:36Eduardo Rodriguez pitched great for Venezuela, allowed just one
- 4:42walk, one hit and zero runs in four and a third innings
- 4:46pitched. It was terrible.
- 4:49It was a terrible performance by the United States offense who
- 4:51didn't have a single at bat with a runner in scoring position the
- 4:56entire game. the United States offense only had three hits that
- 5:00game that game, two of which were by Bryce Harper, including
- 5:05the two run home run that tied the game in the 8th inning.
- 5:09Garrett Whitlock came in to the game in the 9th inning and gave
- 5:13up the lead walk to Louisa Arise.
- 5:16This led to a pitch pinch runner coming in and stealing second,
- 5:21which he was out by the way, on a controversial call that the on
- 5:26the that was upheld by the umpires after replay review.
- 5:30Shortly after that, Suarez was the hero with the RBI double to
- 5:36give Venezuela the lead for good.
- 5:38The heart of the batting order for the United States, Aaron
- 5:42Judge and Kyle Schwarber and Alex Bredman were a combined 0
- 5:47for 10 with one walk and six strikeouts.
- 5:50And I'll say this for everybody out there that watched this game
- 5:55and it's been a problem watching Team USA against elite pitching.
- 5:59But this, this team, and I'm not taking shots at Venezuela.
- 6:03Venezuela did not have elite pitching.
- 6:06Eduardo, Eduardo Rodriguez, he's a good pitcher.
- 6:10He's not a great pitcher. He's a Major League pitcher.
- 6:13He's more like a relief pitcher than he is a starting pitcher in
- 6:17the majors. I know sitting back in, a lot of
- 6:19people wondering who the hell is Eduardo Rodriguez?
- 6:23But he completely dominated the game, kept them off off balance.
- 6:28And and you saw that Aaron Judge has been up and down throughout
- 6:32this tournament. He had a couple of home runs.
- 6:34Bryce Harper was on and off all tournament.
- 6:37Schwarber looked horrible in this game.
- 6:39No, but Alex Bregman was horrendous throughout this
- 6:42tournament. Nobody can hit the ball, nobody.
- 6:47And with an elite lineup as good as Team USA, when you're talking
- 6:52about elite players and everybody was calling them the
- 6:55Dream team. And I on my on my stories, when
- 6:59I was writing my stories, I called them the Redeem team
- 7:01because I thought they redeemed themselves after losing Italy,
- 7:05losing against Italy, then beating Canada, and then
- 7:08eventually beating the Dominican Republic.
- 7:10And you heard Juan Soto after the game, he said that we were
- 7:14the better team. We showed everybody why we are
- 7:17the best team in this tournament, even though they
- 7:19lost. And to me, I'm not blaming Nolan
- 7:24McLean. It's not his fault.
- 7:27It's not his fault. It's not I'm not going to blame
- 7:31him because he's a young pitcher and had nothing to do with any
- 7:35kind of virus or sickness or whatever they thought he had.
- 7:40He wasn't dizzy on the mound. That wasn't the reason why these
- 7:44guys were hitting against him in in in the third inning.
- 7:47What was it, the third inning? So it wasn't because of that.
- 7:53I'm sorry, it was the 5th inning and the third inning, but it
- 7:55wasn't because of that. And I, I would say this, if, if
- 8:00there was any mistake that this team made was not pitching
- 8:04Skeens in the final game, I know everybody's going to say, well,
- 8:08if Skeens didn't play or he didn't pitch, both schemes
- 8:11didn't pitch against the Dominican Republic, the United
- 8:15States don't move on. But I beg to differ.
- 8:20Venezuela have been the most hottest team in this tournament.
- 8:24They beat Japan and they beat Team USA.
- 8:27They were the best team throughout the tournament.
- 8:32And again, you look up, up, up on the line of all these rosters
- 8:36and, and, and Venezuela did not have the elite roster that they
- 8:40were expecting. They had an elite coaching
- 8:42staff. Miguel Cabrera was there.
- 8:45They had they had guys on the bench that are going to be Hall
- 8:48of Farmers, Johann Santana, but they didn't have elite players.
- 8:58They had elite names as we were just mentioning one of them, but
- 9:03not elite players. Now again, everybody's going to
- 9:06attack Team USA. This was their chance to win the
- 9:09gold medal and and go on to the season.
- 9:12I mean, Aaron Judge might never play in the WBC again.
- 9:15He probably won't because three years from now he's 37, going to
- 9:19be 38. Does he really want to compete
- 9:22when he's at the tail end of his career?
- 9:23He's trying to win a World Series with the Yankees.
- 9:25Maybe they don't win a World Series.
- 9:27So maybe we're going to be talking about at the age of 38,
- 9:30him trying to drive the Yankees to a a World Series
- 9:33championship. Bryce Harper is at the tail end
- 9:37of his career. Schwarber, he is probably not
- 9:41going to be or he'll be at the tail end of his career.
- 9:44He'll be on the 18th hole of his career by the time the WBC comes
- 9:49around again. So we got a chance to see some
- 9:51of the young players. We saw Anthony, we saw Paul
- 9:55Skeens, Tarek Schuble will still be around when the WBC comes
- 10:01around in the next three years. He'll still be in the lead
- 10:03pitcher. I'm sure he will be.
- 10:06So we got to get, we got a chance to see some of these
- 10:08young players. Broxton But you expect Team USA
- 10:15to run away with this tournament.
- 10:17Everybody expected Team USA to run away with this tournament,
- 10:20especially when you watch the Dominican Republic get
- 10:23eliminated by them and then Japan getting eliminated by
- 10:26Venezuela. Italy put up a bigger fight than
- 10:33Team USA did against Venezuela and again, you go back and
- 10:41everybody wants to part that, point their fingers when it
- 10:43comes to management. Mark DeRosa, this wasn't Mark
- 10:48Derosa's fault. Mark DeRosa cannot go up to the
- 10:51plate and hit for these guys. He can coach, he can manage.
- 10:56Bryce Harper hit a two run home run.
- 10:58Could you imagine if Team USA lost two to nothing and got shut
- 11:03out by Venezuela? Could you imagine that, how bad
- 11:09that would have been? And again, you go back to Team
- 11:16USA early in this tournament, they look dominant against
- 11:19Brazil. They look dominant against, I
- 11:22guess, England. What what do they call that?
- 11:24Great Britain, Great Britain, two teams that don't have big
- 11:29and, you know, MLB players on it.
- 11:33And then they played Team Brazil.
- 11:35They barely beat Brazil and then we all know what happened
- 11:39against Team Italy and I don't even think Team USA would have
- 11:44beaten team Team Italy if Team Italy moved on against
- 11:47Venezuela. I don't think so cuz the facts
- 11:51here is Team USA had a problem with their lineup.
- 11:55All playoff or all WBC line. I call it playoff because it
- 11:58wasn't playoff. That's what it was.
- 12:02It's kind of scary when you look at a lineup that good and half
- 12:06of those guys were in hitting more than 200.
- 12:09Half of them think about if you look at Team USA, there were
- 12:13more walks for Team USA. Nobody can get get a guy home.
- 12:18Nobody can hit him in scoring position.
- 12:20They look like the New York Yankees the last couple of
- 12:23years. The Yankees have had problems
- 12:26for years getting guys home in scoring position and that was
- 12:31the same thing that happened with Team USA Baseball.
- 12:33They have looked bad in this tournament hitting.
- 12:36Their pitching was sensational. Logan look good, schemes look
- 12:40good, scuba look good. Everyone at Nolan McClain was up
- 12:43and down, but a lot of people said that he was his Obviously
- 12:47he was dizzy, whatever the hell they were saying that he had.
- 12:51I I don't know what is the truth with Nolan McClain.
- 12:54I Nolan McClain did not look bad against Venezuela.
- 12:59He didn't he didn't look bad. He just had one really bad
- 13:04inning which gave up a single run and again and again they he
- 13:10gave up two runs. But those two runs were so very
- 13:14important because team Yoazeka net they would get and and that
- 13:19was another thing Team USA had a problem getting the first two
- 13:21guys on. The first guy would strike out.
- 13:25The other guy would hit, hit into a, you know, a ground rule
- 13:29single, you know, ground rule, a throw to first base and it was
- 13:34going on pop up flies. They couldn't get a guy on base.
- 13:37And every time they did get a guy at base, it was 2 outs.
- 13:43They had a lot of problems getting those guys into scoring
- 13:46position. And then when they were walking,
- 13:48they were, they, they just weren't aggressive enough.
- 13:54And again, you you want to point your fingers at management,
- 13:58maybe, maybe some of those things you can point out Mark
- 14:01DeRosa, you had Andy Pettit on a part of that coaching staff.
- 14:06These are quality managers, guys that have been successful in the
- 14:10majors as players. So you can't point your fingers
- 14:14and say that they don't know what they're doing and they
- 14:16didn't put these guys in the right position to succeed.
- 14:18These guys are superstars. They're the best players on
- 14:21their respectable teams in the major leagues.
- 14:24Half of these guys are going to be Hall of Famers.
- 14:27Bryce Harper is a Hall of Famer. Kyle Schwarber is going to be
- 14:31Hall of Famer. Aaron Judge is going to be a
- 14:33Hall of Famer. We could go on and on and on.
- 14:37Alex Bregman is on his way to be a Hall of Famer.
- 14:41All these guys, they couldn't get enough hitting from their
- 14:47catchers. That's why they were trying to
- 14:50switch catchers. They weren't getting enough
- 14:52consistency. You're going to tell me that
- 14:57United States didn't have the two best catches in this
- 14:59tournament? They did, even though Austin
- 15:01Wells probably had the best statistical WBC when it comes to
- 15:06all the catchers in all of that tournament.
- 15:09He played for the Dominican Republic.
- 15:10I don't know if he's Dominican, but he was the catcher.
- 15:13He has enough eligibility. He was the catcher of the
- 15:15Dominican Republic and he was really, really good throughout
- 15:18the tournament. Is that going to tell me that
- 15:20he's going to be great with the Yankees this year?
- 15:22Who knows? I'll tell you who wasn't good in
- 15:24this tournament, Whitlock, who didn't look well.
- 15:27He was good throughout the tournament, but he was not good
- 15:30in the WBC championship. He looked really, really bad.
- 15:33He was throwing the but he was trying to pitch and he was
- 15:35trying to get strikes and he couldn't find the strike zone.
- 15:38That's why he walked arise and we all know what happened.
- 15:44I believe that the pinch runner was kept caught at second base,
- 15:48but there was not enough to to return or turn it over or
- 15:53whatever. Whatever baseball wants to say
- 15:56that he wasn't out. It looked like he nicked his
- 15:58knee before he touched second base.
- 16:00That's what it looked like, that's what I saw.
- 16:05But there was not enough to overturn it.
- 16:10And that run cost Team USAAWBC championship.
- 16:13But I'm not going to blame it only on that.
- 16:15They had a chance and and that was the I thought Derose's
- 16:20problem throughout this game is taking Whitlock out of the game
- 16:25after he walked that pitch runner.
- 16:27I would have taken him out. He didn't have his stuff.
- 16:29He didn't look good. And we see pictures like this
- 16:32just don't have it. Now.
- 16:34Whitlock look good throughout this tournament.
- 16:36He's probably one of their better relief pitchers
- 16:39throughout this tournament. But in a big game like that and
- 16:42and again, he's he's he was in a Yankee, but he's been a red
- 16:47sock. And and I said this in my story
- 16:49that I posted up on the worldwide sports Radio network.
- 16:53The game ended on 2 spread socks Whitlock, who gave up the run
- 16:59and Anthony, who struck out two Red Sox.
- 17:05And by the way, for all the Jet guys, and I say this because I,
- 17:12I, I say this because there's one guy who claims he's a Jet
- 17:17fan and he's a Met fan who reached out to me after the game
- 17:22and told me about Aaron Judge. And I said to him and Jeff, you
- 17:25know what I'm talking about, He said, look your captain.
- 17:29Look at the captain. He couldn't hit a lick.
- 17:31And I said, what did Anthony do? What did Whitlock do?
- 17:35And he got defensive and, and all of a sudden he said, I'm a
- 17:38Met fan. So who cares?
- 17:42Facts are facts, guys. Anybody watching the game could
- 17:46understand how baseball is won. It's won by offense.
- 17:50Everybody says it's won by pitching, but you got to score.
- 17:54As good as the pitching was, it wasn't again Nolan Mclean's
- 17:57fault. He gave up two runs for a team
- 18:02that dominant team with a great line up, as good as Team USA
- 18:07against Venezuela, against Eduardo Rodriguez.
- 18:12This isn't a guy like a screwball or this isn't Felix
- 18:17Hernandez. This isn't one of those pitchers
- 18:20that completely shut you down. They have a good bullpen, but
- 18:24their bullpen is the one that gave up that 2 two run home run
- 18:27against Bryce Harper. So as good as everybody says,
- 18:31well, look how good their bullpen was.
- 18:33The the, the WBC has shown that throughout the tournament that
- 18:37all these teams have good ball pens.
- 18:42What happened was is Team USA, for some reason in the game they
- 18:47needed to show up most offensively.
- 18:50I think they laid up a lousy goose egg.
- 18:54They thought they were going to run away with the championship.
- 18:56They thought they were that much better than Venezuela.
- 19:02And Venezuela throughout this tournament was as good as
- 19:05anybody, as good as anybody. They shocked Japan, they shocked
- 19:13Italy, and they shocked the United States.
- 19:18They went through the three, arguably the three best teams
- 19:22outside of the Dominican Republic in this tournament.
- 19:25And they made it look easy. They made it look really easy.
- 19:29Japan had a 5 nothing lead, if I'm not mistaken.
- 19:32They were up I think 5, five runs or five to one.
- 19:37And Venezuela came back with knocking here, knocking a run
- 19:42in, rocking, knocking in another run, hitting a home run here.
- 19:45They they narrowed it down and eventually they took the lead
- 19:49and just ran away against Japan because Japan couldn't hit
- 19:51against their relief pitching. Same thing that happened a
- 19:55Little Italy. Venezuela got an early lead and
- 20:01they made Italy chase. No, actually I think Italy
- 20:06scored the. First Italy scored first, I
- 20:08think Venezuela. Scored the first run in after
- 20:10that, then Venezuela got two runs and then Italy couldn't
- 20:13catch up. United States throughout this
- 20:18tournament, it's except against Brazil and the the Great Britain
- 20:22team, they've had problems scoring runs.
- 20:26They got an early lead against Brazil, but after that Italy
- 20:29scored eight runs before they got six runs against that
- 20:32offense. I mean that defence and then
- 20:35against the Dominican Republic, they were down by one, they were
- 20:38down 1. Nothing.
- 20:40They gave him I, I think it was an early home run and then they
- 20:43came back. Paul Skeens pitched on absolute
- 20:47dominant performance. And if they were so worried
- 20:51about Venezuela, which I don't think Team USA was, they should
- 20:55have saved Logan or Pete. Paul Skeens.
- 20:59And what really hurt him is that Scuba was called back to Detroit
- 21:03because Scuba would have been pitching in the WBC championship
- 21:07game. Are you going to point your
- 21:10fingers and blame Scubble, Tarek Scubble to go home?
- 21:13No, because Tarek Scubble is playing for a big time contract.
- 21:16He wants that $500 million contract.
- 21:18It's probably going to be his last of his career.
- 21:22And this is a guy that has Tommy John surgery.
- 21:28The fact here is team USC needs to play better and I don't know
- 21:34if Mark DeRosa is going to come back.
- 21:36I don't know if he gets a management job with a Major
- 21:39League team and I I believe he deserves 1 so does so does the
- 21:44Venezuela coach. He might get a a coaching job, a
- 21:46management job very soon in the major leagues do after what he
- 21:49did in this tournament. Early, He was close with the
- 21:51Astros, and they went in a different direction.
- 21:55He might get a shot too. But I'm going to tell you this
- 22:00right now. You're not going to see Aaron
- 22:02Judge on this roster in three years.
- 22:04There's no way. Bryce Harper, no way.
- 22:07Kyle Schwarber, no way. Alex Bregman, maybe, maybe on
- 22:14this roster. But I think in three years
- 22:16they're going to be better players and Alex Bregman, we're
- 22:21going to see a completely different team.
- 22:23You'll see Paul Skeens, he'll be their number one guy.
- 22:26He'll be the ace. You'll see Nolan McLean again
- 22:30because he's a great young pitcher for the New York Mets.
- 22:35But most of these guys, everybody keeps blaming that
- 22:37Pete Alonso wasn't in this line up.
- 22:39I don't think Pete Alonso would have made a difference.
- 22:42I don't. Everybody's complaining.
- 22:46We'll look at look at what they were playing at first base.
- 22:48Bryce Harper's bad consolation price.
- 22:50Come on. I don't think he's a bad
- 22:52consolation price. As a matter of fact, I thought
- 22:54Bryce Harper defensively played very well in this tournament,
- 22:57very well, and he's much better than Pete Alonso is at first
- 23:01base. Power wise, probably not, not
- 23:06anymore. But again, you look at this
- 23:10roster, Pete Alonso and no Pete Alonso, this roster is as good
- 23:14as any roster in this tournament.
- 23:17Look at Puerto Rico, because of the insurance situation, a lot
- 23:20of these guys didn't play Venezuela.
- 23:22There was like 5 or 6 guys that couldn't play in this tournament
- 23:25because they couldn't afford the insurance.
- 23:28There was no excuse for Team USA, none, because all of those
- 23:32guys can play, pay for insurance.
- 23:34Every single one of them, every single one of those USA players
- 23:38paid for insurance. They're all making over $100
- 23:43million practically, except maybe two or three of the
- 23:45younger guys. Paul Skeens isn't some of the
- 23:50younger guys, Nolan McLean, the pitchers, but most of those guys
- 23:54are making top pay. Alex Bragme just got a new
- 23:57contract. We know what Aaron Judge just
- 24:00got two years ago, three years ago from the Yankees, Bryce
- 24:02Harper, Kyle Schwarber just got an extension by the Phillies.
- 24:08These guys are getting paid a massive amount of money.
- 24:11Guys like Tarek Scubble. I, I'm, I want my cash.
- 24:15You heard what Bellinger said. They asked Bellinger to play for
- 24:19Team USA, to play first base for Team USA Baseball.
- 24:22And after he got his $160 million contract from the
- 24:25Yankees, he said no way. He said no way.
- 24:29Why? Because the Yankees are paying
- 24:31me to win championships. Not WBC championships, World
- 24:37Series championships. That's why I'm making the money.
- 24:40Now, I'm not saying that Aaron Judge was wrong for playing in
- 24:42this tournament. He always wanted to play for
- 24:44Team USA. Mark DeRosa made him the
- 24:46captain. He was the superstar player on
- 24:48that team, but he didn't play well.
- 24:54And usually this is the time that Aaron Judge needs to get
- 24:57his timing. Spring training is the best time
- 24:59for him to get his swing back. And now you're playing against
- 25:02better pitching. Now, I'm not saying Eduardo
- 25:05Rodriguez is a great pitcher, but he's a Major League pitcher.
- 25:08When you're playing in spring training, you're playing against
- 25:12rookies, AAA pitchers, AA pitchers.
- 25:15Yeah, you'll see a starting pitcher for like 1 or 1 1/2
- 25:19innings, but you're not going to see him for a significant amount
- 25:21of time like you saw Eduardo Rodriguez, who has been a Major
- 25:25League pitcher for, what, seven years?
- 25:30All these guys did not show up in a tournament that they should
- 25:34have ran away with, as we heard AJ Pierzynski call him the Dream
- 25:38team. This was not the dream team.
- 25:41If you remember the Dream team with Michael Jordan, Charles
- 25:44Barkley and all those players, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, David
- 25:48Robertson, Patrick Ewing, all those guys, they won by more
- 25:53than 50 points in every one of those games they dominated.
- 25:59The only time they didn't dominate it was when they played
- 26:01against each other at practice. That's when Michael Jordan took
- 26:06over. There is nobody on this team,
- 26:12nobody on this team that played like a Michael Jordan, like the
- 26:17superstar player when you needed a bucket or you needed a home
- 26:21run. Now Bryce Harper, he hit finally
- 26:24hit a home run in the tournament.
- 26:25He has been really, really bad throughout the tournament.
- 26:29Bryce Harper couldn't hit a lick in the first three games.
- 26:32It gets really bad pitching. Brazil, they had a 17 year old
- 26:39who's in is in high school, couldn't.
- 26:42I'm not saying I don't think he was up against him, but he
- 26:44couldn't hit against sub tier pitchers.
- 26:48The guys that were AA pitchers, Great Britain, he couldn't hit
- 26:53against them either. He walked a couple of times.
- 26:55I think he got a single in that game.
- 27:01You, you, you're a superstar player, you're a name, you're a
- 27:04Hall of Famer, and you don't show up in the game when the
- 27:07game means something. And then the watch Soda coming
- 27:13out and opening his big fat mouth after the fact.
- 27:16They lost against Team USA that the better team lost.
- 27:19Really. You didn't hit a lick either.
- 27:22They didn't hit a lick against Team USA pitching.
- 27:25And it's not Team USA baseball's pitching that lost them this
- 27:30tournament. It wasn't them.
- 27:32And now you know what I would have done when they gave me the
- 27:34Civil medal? I would have gave it back.
- 27:36I would have gave it back. I would have never taken it.
- 27:42That's a player that demands the respect of my peers, knowing
- 27:49that I am a United States baseball player.
- 27:52I'm the best of the best. This is where baseball was
- 27:56created. I'm considered the best player
- 28:00and I could go through that line up and through that roster.
- 28:04Every one of those players are their bet, their team's best
- 28:08player. Every one of them.
- 28:11You go through that roster, I mean, you have two players from
- 28:14the same Rod, same team, Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper, but
- 28:17they're the two best players on Philadelphia besides Zach
- 28:20Wheeler. They're the two best players.
- 28:26Alex Bregman, right now, he goes to Chicago.
- 28:30He you could argue he's the best player on that team.
- 28:32Now, everyone, Pete Crow Armstrong, who's playing with
- 28:39Alex Bregman, he's a young stud. He was up and down in this
- 28:45tournament when he was playing out in the outfield.
- 28:46Broxton was up and down in this tournament when they brought him
- 28:50in. None of these guys can hit.
- 28:54They could walk, but that nobody can hit anybody in scoring
- 28:57position. It was embarrassing.
- 29:00It really was. And I'm going to tell you this,
- 29:02if you're if you're a baseball fan, that probably was one of
- 29:08the worst losses we've seen in competition with a team that
- 29:13talented in the last 25 years. It was as bad as Team USA
- 29:18Basketball losing when before the redeemed team four years
- 29:22later took over with Kobe Bryant, when you had Stefan
- 29:24Marbury, Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard, Tim Duncan on that
- 29:28roster, Allen Iverson, all those players, they they won a bronze
- 29:34medal that year in the Olympics that was as bad as that.
- 29:39And they won a silver. It wasn't a bronze, it was a
- 29:41silver because to me, you had a chance.
- 29:44You beat the Dominican Republic. You didn't have to play Japan.
- 29:47You were pretty mad pretty much skiing right to the end of the
- 29:50slope. There was no way you should have
- 29:53lost against Venezuela. But they go out there and play
- 29:56baseball like they're champions. And that's all I could say about
- 30:01Venezuela. They were very well managed.
- 30:03They have a bunch of great, super great studs as coaches.
- 30:07Think about it. Miguel Cabrera is probably the
- 30:09best right-handed hitter in Major League history.
- 30:12He's the last guy to win a Triple Crown.
- 30:14Johan Santana, Now I don't believe he had that no hitter
- 30:17for the Mets. No, he didn't.
- 30:19Carlos Beltran definitely got that hit.
- 30:21But Johan Santana is a whole of Famer.
- 30:24He is one of the greatest change UPS in Major League history.
- 30:27It was unhittable when he played for the Twins.
- 30:29Unhittable. These guys are studs.
- 30:32They were great players for their respectable teams when
- 30:36they're in the majors. So it wasn't like Venezuela
- 30:39didn't have the right coaches and management.
- 30:42As a matter of fact, I thought they had better management than
- 30:45Team USA. Not Mark DeRosa, and I'm not
- 30:48saying Andy Pettit, but the guys, they hit coaches over
- 30:50there. Who's the coach for Team USAI?
- 30:53Don't even know it was embarrassing and I'm not going
- 31:00to blame Mark DeRosa because Mark DeRosa, his job is to get
- 31:04these guys to play and play hard.
- 31:06That was Matt Holiday and Sean Casey.
- 31:08I rest my case. Matt, Holly, Sean.
- 31:09Casey, who was a Yankee hitting coach for a while.
- 31:12Sean Casey. We never had Sean Casey on the
- 31:14show, did we? No, we had a lot of other
- 31:17excigers, but no, never him. Sean Casey, who was an OK hitter
- 31:22in the majors, Yeah. I think he played for
- 31:24Cincinnati, too. Cincinnati later.
- 31:26Yeah. I'm just, it's it's embarrassing
- 31:31now. What do these players have to do
- 31:34now going into a season where it could be a strike here?
- 31:38This was their chance to win a championship.
- 31:40Aaron Judge might never win a championship again, might never
- 31:44win a championship with the the Yankees.
- 31:47This was his chance to run away with a championship.
- 31:49Didn't have to go through Japan. It was smooth sailing after they
- 31:54beat Dominican Republic. I think that the United States
- 31:59play lackadaisical. They thought they were going to
- 32:01go into this game and completely demolish Venezuela because
- 32:05Venezuela got lucky against Japan and Italy.
- 32:09We're better than them. Our rosters are better, our
- 32:11pitching staff is better, our bullpen is better.
- 32:16And they were so wrong, absolutely so wrong and got
- 32:19embarrassed in front of National national television televised
- 32:23game, national people. There was over a billion people
- 32:26watching that game, a billion people watching that game around
- 32:29the world to be embarrassed. The way they did not hit until
- 32:33the they they didn't get a run until the 8th inning, the 8th
- 32:37inning and they had they had last slicks.
- 32:40They won a coin toss before the game.
- 32:43Yeah, it's embarrassing when you look at the level of hitting and
- 32:46just the approach, never being there.
- 32:48And you're right, maybe they just took their talents for
- 32:51granted and tried to just win that way.
- 32:52And with their offense not being that great in the knockout
- 32:56round, you would think you they would adjust more.
- 32:58Like even against Canada, they scored five runs, but it wasn't
- 33:01like it was this consistent onslaught of a team of in
- 33:04Canada, they have a lot more talent than two.
- 33:07And when they're playing against the Dominican Republic, they
- 33:09finally got something going on the pitching side against that
- 33:12offense and they only scored two runs.
- 33:15They ended up winning and thanks to Aaron, Judges defense and a
- 33:18bunch of other things going in. But it still is not an ideal
- 33:21circumstance the way they did it.
- 33:22And now you look at a team like Venezuela who's already playing
- 33:25with a lot of good adversity as it is between the insurance
- 33:27things that are going on. Fish was staying in the comments
- 33:30section. Jose Altuve wasn't playing.
- 33:31I'm sure he would have been one of their better players, you
- 33:33would think. But you got a lot of scrapheap
- 33:36veterans on the top end of that line of obviously Suarez is a
- 33:38great power hitter. But like, that's a team that's
- 33:41not really as top heavy as you would think.
- 33:43And you look at something like the Venezuela starting pitching
- 33:47staff, it's not great. And Eduardo Rodriguez had to be
- 33:50an unsung here. Now, their bullpen was very
- 33:52good. Errol, you mentioned it.
- 33:53Andres Machado was like the non major leaguer that pitched in
- 33:56the 8th inning and he pitched well, but like he pitched well
- 33:59up until that game. But the rest of those times you
- 34:01got to Kansas City guys, you got plenty in the 9th inning is a
- 34:04very good reliever for the Cubs, but you still have to get a lead
- 34:07to get to that point. How does the US avoid that?
- 34:09Oh, let's hit Eduardo Rodriguez, who hasn't really had a great
- 34:11season since he was with the Red Sox probably in 2021 or
- 34:14something. Like it's been a while for him
- 34:16and you couldn't even hit that guy.
- 34:18That doesn't look good. And you're right, the pitching
- 34:19did enough. I think Mark DeRosa did OK, not
- 34:21amazing but well enough to win and Garrett Whitlock just blew
- 34:26it at that point. And I agree with you, that call
- 34:27should have been an out call it at second base.
- 34:29But again, maybe Suarez could drive him in from first anyway.
- 34:32You know a guy that walks. You never know at that point
- 34:34because Whitlock did not have it.
- 34:36All right, we have a first call of the night and I knew he was
- 34:38going to call Jeff. What's up, man?
- 34:42Earl, you're hilarious, bro. You're honestly hilarious.
- 34:45Why? What's going on?
- 34:47You're blaming Roman Anthony for this?
- 34:50I didn't blame Roman Anthony, I didn't blame him, but I said he
- 34:54was the last one to strike out. Right.
- 34:56OK, someone has to make the last out.
- 34:58Got it. Do you realize Roman Anthony
- 35:00batted 280 with two home runs? What a judge bat through 22 with
- 35:04two home runs? And Roman Anthony was a
- 35:07replacement player. He wasn't even selected for the
- 35:09roster he replaced. Corbin Carroll.
- 35:12A replacement player was better than the captain of Team USA.
- 35:17How embarrassing. So we're going to sit here and
- 35:21the first thing you're going to attack me with is because I
- 35:24attacked a Red Sox, who, by the way, is not your team anymore.
- 35:28You, you said you're a Met fan, did you not?
- 35:30That's correct. That's correct.
- 35:31You're a Met fan. So you're sticking up for a Red
- 35:33Sox now because you hate those people because they're mean and
- 35:37disrespectful and racist. Remember you said.
- 35:40No, no, no, no, you called them racist, but we did beat them in
- 35:4480. 6 Did you not call them racist?
- 35:46Oh yeah, did you not call them? Racist, but this is.
- 35:48But this is the problem. Deflecting a replacement player
- 35:52played better than the captain of Team USA.
- 35:55That is a When can we start to have the conversation that Aaron
- 35:59Judge is nothing more than Dan Marino was Dan Marino a Was Dan
- 36:04Marino a great player? Dan Marino was the hell is Aaron
- 36:07Judge a great player? Aaron Judge is going to be a
- 36:09Hall of Famer, but they can't win.
- 36:12They fold like cheap lawn chairs when the lights when the lights
- 36:16are on. OK, so we're going to point our
- 36:19fingers and we're going to blame Aaron Judge for this.
- 36:21Let's look at the statistics. Here Captain Who's the captain
- 36:24of? Stop Captain USA.
- 36:25So who cares? Andrews Lee is the captain for
- 36:28the New York Islanders. He.
- 36:29Is he the best player on the team?
- 36:31Is he? No, no, no, no, no.
- 36:33That would be Michael Nisa. Didn't we get him?
- 36:36Here it is. You're an idiot.
- 36:38What I'm saying here is you're telling me the captain of the
- 36:41team has to be the best player. That's not true if we look at
- 36:44the statistics. Our captain.
- 36:46Our captain should show leadership, which he did not.
- 36:49Oh really? What?
- 36:50What do you have to show to show leadership?
- 36:52Please explain. I don't know, how about that
- 36:54above your body weight? First of all, this is a spring
- 36:58training game. That's what it is.
- 37:00And. Our judge spring training game
- 37:02so our judge does not striking out to end the so Roman Anthony
- 37:05to strike out to end the game shouldn't matter but was your
- 37:07big shot though the replacement player struck out but the
- 37:11captain can't bad bad his body weight so of all is forgiven.
- 37:16So we're going to sit here right now and we're going to make a
- 37:18complaint and we're going to complain that the fingers are
- 37:21going to be pointed at Aaron Judge on the reason why.
- 37:24Let's let's look at the let's look.
- 37:26All right, Pete Crow Armstrong hitting 263.
- 37:30Bryce Harper hitting 214. Hold on.
- 37:32Alex Bregman hitting 143. Let's go.
- 37:36Let's go. On and on and on.
- 37:37Let's go over. Here it wasn't a starter.
- 37:39Those guys didn't start regularly.
- 37:41Of the regular starters, Aaron Judge had the second lowest
- 37:44batting average, only ahead of Bryce Harper.
- 37:47That's it. Bobby Witt, who's one of the
- 37:49best hitters in baseball, hit 250.
- 37:52Still more than Judge. Still more than.
- 37:54Judge so so now we're pointing our finger at Aaron Judge
- 37:58because. You don't like every guy.
- 38:00No, no. Every guy that you're trying to
- 38:02point to still play better than the captain, and you're laughing
- 38:08because you're trying to avoid that.
- 38:10No, I'm not, because here's another fact.
- 38:12Game five of the World Series, who dropped the ball in center
- 38:15field? Yankees were running away with
- 38:17that game. Garrett Cole was cruising.
- 38:19Who dropped the ball? They were, they were.
- 38:22They were down 3 to one. They were winning that series.
- 38:26That they win that game, it's anyone.
- 38:27Stop. Stop.
- 38:28They were never coming back. They were.
- 38:30Never coming back from the Red Sox, Who came down 3 nothings.
- 38:33Yankees. But yeah, Yankees that was, that
- 38:36was the ALCS, and they were very, very lucky.
- 38:39A lot of things just fell their way.
- 38:41A lot of things fell their way. But maybe if Aaron Judge could
- 38:44catch a lazy fly ball, you guys could have gotten.
- 38:46Lucky. So that's that's your tick has.
- 38:50Aaron Judge ever won anything? Has he won anything?
- 38:54Jeff that that to me, that's not my argument.
- 38:57Half of these guys never won anything besides the cheaters
- 39:00and. Alex Redmond, but earlier.
- 39:02Roman Anthony ever won anything. Pete Crow Armstrong didn't win
- 39:05anything. Never going to win anything.
- 39:08Bryce Schwarber's never won anything.
- 39:09Kyle Schwarber's never won anything.
- 39:11Let's go on every single one of these players but Bradley who
- 39:15cheated. Right.
- 39:15But the guy, but the guy that you brought up that you wanted
- 39:18to blame, could you somehow think you're junk working on me
- 39:20is someone I'm not even sure qualified as a rookie last year
- 39:24in Major League Baseball. Robin Anthony might be his
- 39:28rookie year, might be this year. I'm not sure he got enough at
- 39:30bats last year to even be qualified as a rookie.
- 39:33And somehow that bomb outplayed the captain of Team USA, the
- 39:38great Aaron Judge. Oh, so so that's what.
- 39:40We're going to go at we're going to have a young kid because he
- 39:43hit 280 and he had a couple of hits.
- 39:46You're going to say he's better than Aaron Judge?
- 39:48How does that make sense? Who?
- 39:49Who batted 280 and then who batted 222 and then who's?
- 39:53Who was the MVP of baseball last year?
- 39:56Who's been the MVP of baseball in six?
- 39:59No, he wasn't in the National League, not in the American
- 40:01League, And Sheryl Donny had no challengers.
- 40:05Nobody in the National League really challenged.
- 40:07Right. He has no peers, not even Aaron
- 40:09Judge. Yeah, OK.
- 40:10Aaron Judge had better numbers than Sheryl Donny did.
- 40:13So now you want to go to the numbers.
- 40:14So now do the numbers game with Roman Anthony and Iron Judge do
- 40:17the numbers game now who got a 280?
- 40:19Who got a 222? You're.
- 40:22An idiot you really are. No, I'm not an idiot.
- 40:24I'm just when you try to make a point, you go, let's go look at
- 40:28the numbers and then when the numbers go, then when the
- 40:30numbers don't go in your favor, you start yelling about
- 40:32something else. Roman Anthony might not even
- 40:35qualify as a rookie last year, and he was a.
- 40:37Scab. He was a scab.
- 40:40He's a scab. He's a replacement, Yeah.
- 40:42He's a cab player who struck out at the final out.
- 40:45Is it is it true that he was a replacement player?
- 40:48Is it true that he was a replacement?
- 40:49Player. Who cares if he was Jeff?
- 40:51What is that argument? How are we arguing?
- 40:54This. It doesn't matter.
- 40:55He was a part of the roster. He's one of the best players at
- 40:58his position in the league. He is.
- 41:01He's a young son. He is.
- 41:03He's the best. He just got a big contract from
- 41:05the Red Sox, did he not? Yeah.
- 41:07Yeah. He they gave him an extension,
- 41:09did they not? They did.
- 41:11No, they did extend him. Yes, they did.
- 41:12Oh, OK, so he must be a good player.
- 41:16He must be a good one, dude. They gave Christian Campbell an
- 41:19extension, he's in AAA. Jeff, you're going to sit here
- 41:24and try to go back with Christian?
- 41:26You're talking about extensions and how that means you're
- 41:28talking about extensions, Yes, It means a lot.
- 41:31Yes. And you're going to tell me that
- 41:33Roman Anthony's a better player than Aaron Jones?
- 41:35Is that what you're saying? Is that what you're telling me?
- 41:38No, what I'm telling you, and I'm not saying that, I'm saying
- 41:41that he outperformed the captain of the Team USA because the
- 41:46captain when the. It is spring training.
- 41:48It's a spring training game. That's what it's no, it doesn't
- 41:53matter. No, because our a judge, our a
- 41:56judge last year at spring training, what was he batting?
- 41:58I, I don't even have the numbers, but he wasn't batting
- 42:00300. He was not hitting the ball in
- 42:02spring training. It takes Aaron.
- 42:05It takes Aaron Judge time. He was.
- 42:07To get his time was. Tied for the Aaron Judge was
- 42:10tied for the 110th best batting average in the World Baseball
- 42:13Classic. OK, it's a spring training game.
- 42:17If it was in the middle of the. Season.
- 42:18Now it doesn't matter because it's spring training.
- 42:20That's what it was. Any which way you can try to
- 42:22wiggle out of say, an Aaron Judge just folds when the lights
- 42:26are on is hilarious. Really.
- 42:28Because he was. He was the best hitter in
- 42:29baseball last year in the playoffs besides Guerrero.
- 42:32He was as good as anybody in baseball last year in the
- 42:35playoffs. As a matter of fact, he had
- 42:36better numbers than Guerrero did throughout the playoffs.
- 42:39And he was. And he was terrible in when they
- 42:42lost to the Mariners, wasn't he? The Mariners, they lost against
- 42:45the Blue Jays. Oh, the Blue Jays.
- 42:47I'm sorry. That's my fault.
- 42:48I said. I said Mariners and I meant Blue
- 42:51Jays. I'm sorry.
- 42:52That's see how it someone can make a mistake and say that they
- 42:56were wrong. Credit to me for being in the
- 42:57bigger. Person.
- 42:58Oh, so that's where we're going now, giving you credit.
- 43:01Give good old Jeff a little credit.
- 43:03Well, but, but, but every time you try to make an argument like
- 43:07you just did when you go, I didn't make it the number I I
- 43:09just helped you out. No, because I just helped you
- 43:11out when you're making. When you make an argument, it's
- 43:15always an argument that makes no sense.
- 43:17At the end of the argument, it really doesn't.
- 43:19You're going to tell me, because what does it matter what Roman
- 43:23Anthony did throughout the playoffs?
- 43:25I mean, throughout the highlighting, I'm highlighting
- 43:28one thing. He was the one that struck out
- 43:30in the most important at bat to keep this team alive.
- 43:34So. Someone has to.
- 43:35Someone has to make the last out.
- 43:36It happened to be him. I'm not judging him on that.
- 43:39And I'm I'm not judging him either.
- 43:41I'm just saying, isn't it fitting that a Red Sox pitcher,
- 43:45a Red Sox pitcher, is the one that gave up the winning run and
- 43:49the Red Sox the run? That's the last hitter.
- 43:53A Red Sox pitcher is also the one that that won the game for
- 43:55Venezuela, isn't he? Eduardo Rodriguez was sharp,
- 43:58yes. He was.
- 44:00Nobody said that he wasn't. And who hit the home run for
- 44:03Venezuela? I think that was will you or re
- 44:05you another Red Sox? That's weird.
- 44:07Real. Weird.
- 44:08It's like you're telling me they suck, but apparently when they
- 44:10play for Venezuela they're really good.
- 44:13Jeff, you are a piece of work. You really are.
- 44:17You just spin it. No, you spin it.
- 44:19No, you spin it. That's what you do.
- 44:21You always do it. The WBC is to me an exhibition
- 44:26game. That's what it was.
- 44:27And I said it, I'll say it again.
- 44:29There is no reason why these players should have played in
- 44:31this tournament if they're making millions and millions of
- 44:34dollars. As Bellinger said, these teams
- 44:36are paying me this big amount amount of money.
- 44:38I'm there to win championships for those teams, not to play the
- 44:41game tournament. That means nothing.
- 44:43It means. Nothing.
- 44:45Let's bring it back to the Yankee level here.
- 44:47I have a question for you regarding him as a Yankee.
- 44:50OK, when when people talk about the Yankees, yourself included,
- 44:54when they talk about the great Yankees, they mention Manol and
- 44:57Maris and Jeter and Yogi Berra, right?
- 45:01Like these are the Yankees they mentioned.
- 45:03Why did they mention them? Because they won championships
- 45:07will people still And he's a great player.
- 45:09He's probably going to be a Hall of Famer.
- 45:11Will he be considered a great Yankee if he never wins a World
- 45:14Series? No, he's got to win a World
- 45:17Series. He's got He's definitely going.
- 45:19He had his run last year. He had a sensational run.
- 45:22And the same, same thing with Vladimir Guerrero Junior.
- 45:25Everybody was wondering it, when's this guy going to show up
- 45:27in the playoffs and earn his money?
- 45:29He made his key. Showed up last year.
- 45:31He did. He did he.
- 45:32Was really bad the 1st 2 though. And he was what he was, one game
- 45:35away from winning the World Series.
- 45:36But they choked. They had a 3-1 lead and they
- 45:39choked. I'm sorry.
- 45:40That was crazy too. That backup, like third baseman
- 45:43or whatever that idiot was hitting that home run in the
- 45:45ninth. That was crazy.
- 45:46Yeah, and I'm not. Again, I I'm the first one to
- 45:49say it. If Aaron Judge never wins the
- 45:52championship, he's not going to be considered like Derek Jeter
- 45:55is or Yogi Berra is or Mickey Mantle, Babe Ruth or Lou Gehrig.
- 46:00You need to go out there and win a championship.
- 46:02And he knows that, and he knows he's got to bring one home and
- 46:05he knows he needs to be a big party.
- 46:06Real There's a real chance this guy gets skunked.
- 46:09The Dodgers are building a monster.
- 46:11They don't look like they're slowing down anytime soon, and
- 46:14Aaron Judge folds like a cheap tent when the when you know the
- 46:16lights are on. It could happen.
- 46:19It could very much happen. Jeff, thank.
- 46:20You for having. We're watching it.
- 46:22This guy is Dan Marino. He's Jim Kelly.
- 46:25He's Jim Kelly. He gets to the finals.
- 46:27He got World Series, Super Bowl, all these things and he falls.
- 46:31Thank you. Thank you, Jeff.
- 46:33I love you. Worst USA captain ever.
- 46:36Thank you, Jeff. Goodbye.
- 46:39This is what I mean. And I it was a good call.
- 46:42I'm not taking shots at Jeff. It was a good call.
- 46:45He wants to attack me with the Roman Anthony take and Whitlock
- 46:48take. That's fine.
- 46:50He has good. He had made some good arguments.
- 46:52Here's my argument to it. It doesn't really matter.
- 46:56My argument was before this tournament that these guys
- 46:58should not be playing in this tournament.
- 47:01The best players should not be playing in these tournaments,
- 47:03especially the money that these guys are making this if if the
- 47:07WBC it was in the middle of the All Star break and they want to
- 47:11count this as an All Star game. Look what obviously Gary Bettman
- 47:15did for a new the NHL and and what the NHL was doing.
- 47:18I thought that was interesting and I I would like to see that
- 47:22maybe with the major leagues. If you want to add the WBC, do
- 47:26it in the middle of the season when these guys are, you know,
- 47:29finally get there, you know, the feet defeat under them.
- 47:32I mean, because Aaron Judge did not was not going into this
- 47:36tournament and he was going to be jacking up a 330 batting
- 47:40average and he was going to have 5-6 home runs.
- 47:42It he doesn't have enough time, he doesn't have enough time to
- 47:44prepare. You're going into a tournament
- 47:47before spring training. That's what it was.
- 47:50He has no spring training. How many spring training games
- 47:52is Aaron Judge going to be playing in before the season
- 47:54starts? The season's, what, a week and a
- 47:56half away? Yeah.
- 47:57He only played like in a week before that if he can.
- 48:00And Aaron Judge, if you go look at Aaron Judge's numbers during
- 48:04spring training, they're not good.
- 48:06They're not good. He's not good in spring
- 48:08training. He's just not.
- 48:12But to say that Aaron Judge is the reason why, because he was
- 48:15the captain of team on why Team USA did not win this
- 48:18championship, that's ridiculous. I'm telling you.
- 48:21And, and Roman Anthony did hit 280.
- 48:23He had 7 RBIs, two home runs and he was an add on player.
- 48:27But he struck out 6 * 6. And I know what I know what
- 48:33Jeff's going to say. Well, Aaron Judge struck out
- 48:35seven times. Bryce Harper struck out eight
- 48:37times. Kyle Schwarber struck out seven
- 48:40times. Buxton struck out four times.
- 48:48You're going to tell me right now when you look at this team
- 48:51and they called this team the Dream Team.
- 48:53First of all, Pete Crow, Armstrong's a great player.
- 48:55Is he a Dream Team type of player?
- 48:57He's not Gunner Henderson. He's a good player.
- 49:01Is he a Dream Team type of player?
- 49:04These two guys, I would kind of compare them to Christian
- 49:07Leitner from the Dream Team, just those guys aren't the best
- 49:12players in America at their respectable positions.
- 49:16Pete Crow Armstrong is the best center fielder Team USA has to
- 49:19offer. Not, not the way hit in the
- 49:20second-half, was he? No, he's not.
- 49:23No Carol. Carol was definitely the guy if
- 49:26he was hurt. Gunner Henderson, you're going
- 49:29to tell me he's DH, whatever he is right now for, is he the best
- 49:35player at his position that Team USA was going to add to this
- 49:38roster? He's not either is boxed in.
- 49:43Ernie Clement. Are you going to tell me that
- 49:45Ernie Clement should have been on this roster?
- 49:47This isn't a dream team. And I got news for you.
- 49:51Cal Rally, what happened to him in his tournament?
- 49:54He was horrible. He lost his job.
- 49:57He lost his job. Wilson took over for him.
- 49:59I'm telling you right now, you can't blame this on Aaron Judge,
- 50:03Alex Bregman, who just got a lot of money.
- 50:05He's a great here. He was the worst hitter on this
- 50:08roster. He had 14 at bats.
- 50:11You know how many hits? He had two hits out of 14 at
- 50:14bats. Horrible is being nice and he
- 50:18just got $100 million contract. You know who the Chicago Cubs
- 50:23that just paid him. Oh, my opinion here.
- 50:25And look, Paul Goldschmidt. Paul Goldschmidt was an add on
- 50:28play to the Yankees at the tail end of free agency.
- 50:31He made the team. Let's go through the dream team.
- 50:34I could, if I can name him off the head.
- 50:36Karl Malone at the prime of his career, John Stockton at the
- 50:40prime of his career, Michael Jordan at the prime of his
- 50:42career, Charles Barkley at the prime of his career.
- 50:47Magic Johnson, tail end. Larry Bird, tail end.
- 50:51David Robertson, prime of his career.
- 50:55Patrick Ewing, prime of his career.
- 51:00That's a dream team. That is a dream team, ladies and
- 51:05gentlemen. Clyde Drexler, prime of his
- 51:07career. You cannot sell me that this was
- 51:13the dream team. It's not, and for anybody like
- 51:19AJ Pierzynski to come out with this garbage to try to sell that
- 51:22to us just tells you how stupid he really is.
- 51:25Dumb. It was a dumb take.
- 51:30I'm just, I, I, I thought it was a good, good phone call.
- 51:33And I want to give a shout out to Jeff for calling and having
- 51:36the the guts to attack me, but I'm sorry.
- 51:42To blame this on Aaron Judge on why Team USA lost is ridiculous.
- 51:46Yeah, it's also like it's also different than basketball.
- 51:48Like one player is not going to lose a game for in baseball,
- 51:51like a collective offense loses a game in baseball.
- 51:54Like there's a lot of hitters that just disappeared all at
- 51:56once. You could say, all right, one
- 51:57relief pitcher or one starting pitcher having a dog game.
- 52:00OK, fine. That's different.
- 52:01A hitter? Not as much.

- 54:24And he is one of the best. So I'm excited to have him on.
- 54:27I'd love to hear his take on AJ and Peterson and Boozer and
- 54:32where he sees how the NBA is going to look at these guys as
- 54:36the top three prospects coming out of this year's draft and his
- 54:38Wilson moving up even with not playing in this tournament and
