- 0:02Speaker 1: Some of the content of Patriots Unfiltered may not be
- 0:04Speaker 1: suitable for all audiences. Listener discretion is advised. Welcome to
- 0:11Speaker 1: Patriot's Unfiltered. I'm recently single and I'm looking to upgrade
- 0:17Speaker 1: my soap game or something. How do I get in
- 0:19Speaker 1: touch with the guy with the soap that has the
- 0:21Speaker 1: whole of it? You're the best piece of soap I
- 0:22Speaker 1: ever had. I was there and I came down and said,
- 0:24Speaker 1: what you Andandy, Eric and Paul vaguely remember it? Um,
- 0:29Speaker 1: you know more the lunch than you. But is this
- 0:32Speaker 1: what happened when like the flu first became a thing.
- 0:36Speaker 1: I think it did back in med was alt people
- 0:38Speaker 1: were dying? Yeah, white people don't watch their kay Am,
- 0:45Speaker 1: I too fat to balance on one foot? Is that
- 0:46Speaker 1: we're trying to silt by myself? I could be convinced
- 0:49Speaker 1: is still used bar soap? Otherwise I don't want Fred's
- 0:52Speaker 1: ass on my face. The bottom line is they're either
- 0:55Speaker 1: gonna win or they're gonna lose football games, like they're
- 0:57Speaker 1: either gonna have a I couldn't possibly agree with that more.
- 0:59Speaker 1: For this is Patriots Unfiltered, fueled by Duncan. Welcome back
- 1:07Speaker 1: to another episode. Of Patriots Unfiltered. The boss man Fred
- 1:11Speaker 1: is on vacation, so I am the captain now father
- 1:15Speaker 1: you need it? All right? That's that's Fred's little well
- 1:18Speaker 1: not like a slater, alright, but like all alright, we're back.
- 1:22Speaker 1: We just started. We go the show could get off.
- 1:25Speaker 1: The w said that it reminded me of your parents
- 1:28Speaker 1: go out of town and you're like, okay, like let's
- 1:30Speaker 1: have a party. Well I think I was like that.
- 1:32Speaker 1: You notice how professional the voice was coming was alright,
- 1:39Speaker 1: this is my first time hosting anything. All right, I'm
- 1:45Speaker 1: here with full house, full house. We have Mike, we
- 1:48Speaker 1: have Tomorrow, we have Matisse, and we have Paul Matissa
- 1:51Speaker 1: of the Draft podcast. Yes, Matissa nailed two of the
- 1:55Speaker 1: draft picks with with Thornton and Marcus Jones. So we said,
- 1:58Speaker 1: why don't you come down? Do you think of them?
- 2:00Speaker 1: What was your can you can recall your your analysis
- 2:03Speaker 1: or very versatile and you can't teach speed? Sorry, we
- 2:08Speaker 1: had to have him back. I mean in the business
- 2:11Speaker 1: the risk size your did that get did that get
- 2:14Speaker 1: through your analysis? I don't believe we got into the
- 2:16Speaker 1: Wrist until the actual draft day, remember, Yeah, And we
- 2:20Speaker 1: started talking about that is that a thing? Risk size?
- 2:22Speaker 1: Is that a thing? It's measured at the combine. Though
- 2:24Speaker 1: apparently you can tell everybody who read Dan Brugler's the Beast,
- 2:27Speaker 1: because then, like even with with Cold Strange, the questions
- 2:30Speaker 1: were like, you know, I mean, he wears that single
- 2:32Speaker 1: you know, face masks bar, which I remember that whole thing,
- 2:35Speaker 1: and we're like, everybody wears on that team was wearing
- 2:38Speaker 1: that right now, he's a similar one, which is because
- 2:41Speaker 1: Dan Brugler put it in and clearly after they drafted him,
- 2:43Speaker 1: everyone ran to that and read it and was like, oh,
- 2:45Speaker 1: you know, and then and then clumbed into it. But anyway,
- 2:47Speaker 1: it's just like a perfect example of like no one
- 2:49Speaker 1: does the work. They just regurgitate everything. The first guy says, oh,
- 2:53Speaker 1: it's I mean, and that's you know, that's what the
- 2:55Speaker 1: draft is to a large part. I mean, especially when
- 2:57Speaker 1: you're doing it kind of for fun. But I mean
- 2:59Speaker 1: I try to watch the guys, but it's so easy
- 3:02Speaker 1: to just kind of parrot something you just heard. You know.
- 3:04Speaker 1: That's that's a lot of the draft analysis out there.
- 3:07Speaker 1: And I mean certainly guys like dam Bruger put a
- 3:10Speaker 1: ton of work into it, so their opinion is valid,
- 3:13Speaker 1: and it's it's good to have, but it's just funny
- 3:15Speaker 1: when you know, exactly two minutes after they draft a
- 3:17Speaker 1: guy exactly what everybody ran to and red and is
- 3:20Speaker 1: now asking about. And it's, you know, so just kind
- 3:22Speaker 1: of obvious. But you know, it's a draft. Did you
- 3:26Speaker 1: take a victory latmatise? Just a little one for you
- 3:29Speaker 1: get like slipping it in? I say, no, you know
- 3:31Speaker 1: I got let you know, it was hard. I mean,
- 3:33Speaker 1: this was my first year. No, nobody didn't any say,
- 3:36Speaker 1: someone puts together a big board of like fifty guys,
- 3:38Speaker 1: they didn't get any of them, so first time that
- 3:40Speaker 1: would be attached. And I got that heartbroken a couple
- 3:42Speaker 1: of times. So yeah, I can't think I've gotten one right.
- 3:46Speaker 1: For a while, you can't get it. I had a
- 3:48Speaker 1: little stretch there with Ty Warren and Tebucky Jones and
- 3:51Speaker 1: Chandler Jones, and I was kind of gone cold for
- 3:54Speaker 1: definitely not coincidentally the Patriots have gone cold in the
- 3:58Speaker 1: draft or and that's right, if they'd just taken guys
- 4:00Speaker 1: that I like. That's why I'm not high on this class.
- 4:02Speaker 1: I didn't like any of my guys, so I don't know,
- 4:03Speaker 1: we'll see, we'll see all plays out for you Patriots.
- 4:05Speaker 1: But I get attached to a few people from Virginia's
- 4:08Speaker 1: Florida State guy Florida State or state defensive lineman, that
- 4:11Speaker 1: the jet scot who I already forget to see German
- 4:14Speaker 1: last chance Jones, she May Johnson Johnson Johns Johnson, Right, yeah, yeah,
- 4:18Speaker 1: I was him. It was it was so close the
- 4:21Speaker 1: whole first round. Tom was like, he's there, He's gonna
- 4:24Speaker 1: be there. We're gonna trade down. Yeah. And then we
- 4:27Speaker 1: had that guy calling was like if they take a guard,
- 4:28Speaker 1: I'm gonna kill myself. We need to check up on Strange.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Yes we did, we didn't. One over said yeah, well
- 4:37Speaker 1: in this check get him, make sure he's all right.
- 4:39Speaker 1: He didn't throw himself off the bridge. But as always,
- 4:42Speaker 1: if you're feeling upset, please call this. That's right, goes.
- 4:45Speaker 1: She goes to the professional voice again for you sometimes,
- 4:49Speaker 1: but I will say to Cole Strange's defense, I really
- 4:53Speaker 1: like him. He's great. I mean I think he's great.
- 4:55Speaker 1: You know, I just okay, you just they went to
- 4:59Speaker 1: five guy like we should you definitely where we go
- 5:03Speaker 1: to hold a Brian Kelly with that accent that interested
- 5:07Speaker 1: got reference. He did not ever girl. That was so funny.
- 5:14Speaker 1: A lot of people. He was born like ten minutes
- 5:16Speaker 1: away from my house, and he's like talking about his family.
- 5:19Speaker 1: He waffle house for the first time and then went
- 5:22Speaker 1: there and was like they did the TikTok with the
- 5:25Speaker 1: signy and he didn't sign with lsu. Yes, the dancing
- 5:28Speaker 1: that that can't happen again, that can't happens holding her
- 5:33Speaker 1: head one and done. Let that be the example for all. Yes,
- 5:36Speaker 1: So what do we got? Do we have anything today?
- 5:38Speaker 1: I don't think so. I mean, I think you know,
- 5:42Speaker 1: Damian Harris got a new dog, so are you. I
- 5:46Speaker 1: can't remember, but he had Damien Harris's dog had a
- 5:52Speaker 1: play date with mac Jones's dog. It was so cute,
- 5:57Speaker 1: so cute, sniffing Hinie's so cute. Isn't his club's name
- 6:01Speaker 1: Mercy mac Jones? I think so, yeah, I don't know.
- 6:04Speaker 1: That's that's Alex's department. I think I have diagrams of
- 6:08Speaker 1: the depth chart. Alex has like diagrams of dogs. Cannot
- 6:11Speaker 1: go you cannot go wrong with puppies and babies, like,
- 6:14Speaker 1: oh well unless you have to raise them yourself. And
- 6:17Speaker 1: I think that was like when I sat down with
- 6:19Speaker 1: Stacy James when I first got here and he was like, yeah,
- 6:21Speaker 1: just like always lean towards puppies and babies. People love
- 6:24Speaker 1: that they do, except for the people have to raise
- 6:28Speaker 1: them and do all the work. And they're great on
- 6:30Speaker 1: like the Instagram pictures. But you know we're in there
- 6:32Speaker 1: Dotty discussing before he has some great Danes. Yes, and
- 6:38Speaker 1: also Jalen Mills is going to be a father's well
- 6:41Speaker 1: great Danes two or three? Who's that? Who's gonna be
- 6:43Speaker 1: dad too? Jane's gonna be dad? Keep the baby away
- 6:46Speaker 1: from those giant dogs. Why, oh my gosh, I mean
- 6:51Speaker 1: one bite. I'm with Paul on this, Like I get
- 6:53Speaker 1: I'm not like totally comfortable around dogs like I just
- 6:56Speaker 1: even little ones, you know, the little ones. But what No,
- 6:59Speaker 1: they're not my favorite. I would not be comfortable with
- 7:03Speaker 1: a baby around a giant dog. That would make me.
- 7:06Speaker 1: That would be no. But that great Dane is going
- 7:10Speaker 1: to defend your baby better than anything that's great in theory.
- 7:14Speaker 1: But until he tells me that and promises it in
- 7:16Speaker 1: human language words, then I don't like. I'm like he's
- 7:19Speaker 1: a dog at any second he could flip and just
- 7:21Speaker 1: start biting and stuff. Okay, I will say I don't
- 7:23Speaker 1: like rottweilers or pitbulls. I don't like either, right, I
- 7:27Speaker 1: don't like. I've had a rottweiler and when we used
- 7:29Speaker 1: to hang it was me and my three siblings all
- 7:32Speaker 1: under the age of seven when we had this rottweiler,
- 7:34Speaker 1: and we used to hang on her and pull her tail,
- 7:37Speaker 1: and she had every reason to bite my head off,
- 7:40Speaker 1: and she never did. She loved me, She ate your brother,
- 7:43Speaker 1: she missed a tried even tried. Wow, it was funny.
- 7:49Speaker 1: When I started dating my wife, she had this dog
- 7:51Speaker 1: named Jimmy that was a rescue And the first time
- 7:53Speaker 1: I went over to the house to meet the family,
- 7:55Speaker 1: they're like, just just don't look Jimmy in the eyes.
- 7:59Speaker 1: Like that was their first like tip to me, um
- 8:02Speaker 1: oh man. And so then like later in the evening
- 8:04Speaker 1: they had to put the dog outside, and like I
- 8:06Speaker 1: was at the door looking through the window at the dog,
- 8:08Speaker 1: and the dog was like both paws up, teeth bared,
- 8:12Speaker 1: looking at me like it wanted to murder me. Uh.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Never got The dog also had bitten her brother in
- 8:17Speaker 1: the face once. So this is all just feeding into
- 8:20Speaker 1: I didn't grow up with dogs. Yeah, I know. If
- 8:22Speaker 1: you grew up with the dog and you're a little
- 8:23Speaker 1: kid and you're like, this is like my my sibling.
- 8:25Speaker 1: Basically as a woman too, there's nothing better than like
- 8:29Speaker 1: being able to go for a walk by yourself because
- 8:31Speaker 1: you have Yeah, I have, Like a Golden Retriever's huge.
- 8:36Speaker 1: He's very tall, but he's so big that people are
- 8:38Speaker 1: a little apprehensive, so he wouldn't hurt a fly. I
- 8:40Speaker 1: could definitely. But when people walk by me and are
- 8:43Speaker 1: like is he mean, I'm like, yes, very you should
- 8:46Speaker 1: stay back. He some creepy guy comes up to you like, hey,
- 8:48Speaker 1: how's it going? Is crazy. It's like he looks like
- 8:53Speaker 1: a night school and retriever. Golden Retrievers though, that's like
- 8:56Speaker 1: the standard of dogs that like, you can't really be
- 8:58Speaker 1: afraid of. Like I don't think I would be afraid of.
- 9:00Speaker 1: I wouldn't say I'm anti dog, but I'm I'm in difference.
- 9:04Speaker 1: I'm in the middle. Yeah, I like small dogs. They're
- 9:07Speaker 1: just so cute. Lapdogs. She called them big dogs and lapdogs. No, No,
- 9:13Speaker 1: nobody's got a dog stories like teeth. It's like every
- 9:15Speaker 1: day come in. It's like dogs, soap opera. The dog
- 9:17Speaker 1: swallowed something ate my homeworks bud light bobble cap that
- 9:21Speaker 1: was three thousand dollars. Oh yeah. One of our first
- 9:23Speaker 1: conversations was you talking about bringing your dog to the Yeah,
- 9:26Speaker 1: I will say. One of our dogs stole my mom's
- 9:29Speaker 1: credit card, like she dropped you. What do they buy?
- 9:33Speaker 1: That's basically the moral of the story. Dogs are very
- 9:36Speaker 1: much like my son will Yeah, right, they cause all
- 9:40Speaker 1: the stories. They steal credit cards. What else? Bottle caps?
- 9:45Speaker 1: Fred Fred's dog cleaned his hands after he chose Do
- 9:49Speaker 1: you remember that? That? That was just so disturbing, just
- 9:53Speaker 1: like buffalo wings at home? Oh god, he just he
- 10:00Speaker 1: finishes the wings and then he just dangles his hands
- 10:01Speaker 1: down and what's the dog? God? No, it was not clear.
- 10:08Speaker 1: That was not made clear, So I don't know. You
- 10:11Speaker 1: correct the last thing I want to visualize, Yeah, clean
- 10:15Speaker 1: dog cleaning your hands. Yes, but that's another thing that
- 10:18Speaker 1: like to some people it's gross, but like if it's
- 10:20Speaker 1: your dog, right, you're like, I love my dog. Sleep. Okay,
- 10:23Speaker 1: I'm speaking speaking of dogs and hygiene. People have a
- 10:29Speaker 1: thing about putting letting dogs like sleep in their bed
- 10:32Speaker 1: like dogs remember their outside everywhere, and then that's also
- 10:36Speaker 1: in your bed only on weekends. What's the difference, Like
- 10:40Speaker 1: she takes up half the bed. There have been times
- 10:42Speaker 1: I've woken up on the floor because she's bogging me
- 10:44Speaker 1: off the bed. Oh wow, so like not on my
- 10:46Speaker 1: watch ever, cat like this? Okay, So do you let
- 10:51Speaker 1: your dog underneath your sheets? You're like on top of
- 10:53Speaker 1: your maddress. She usually ends up on it. She starts
- 10:58Speaker 1: come on. But if like if she's out like playing,
- 11:00Speaker 1: like and she's gross, like I throw in the bath first,
- 11:02Speaker 1: or she's going in the crate. So yeah, I have
- 11:04Speaker 1: a line. I have a line. I have a line.
- 11:09Speaker 1: My dog doesn't like to be on the bed that much.
- 11:11Speaker 1: She's like not a huge cuddler because he's so big.
- 11:13Speaker 1: He's like, get away from me. But I don't know,
- 11:15Speaker 1: I don't even like when people sit and outside clothes
- 11:18Speaker 1: on my bed. Never mind, I had a white happened
- 11:21Speaker 1: into something right now here. I hate I don't know,
- 11:23Speaker 1: Like in college when my friends would come into my
- 11:25Speaker 1: dorm room and just sit on my bed in their
- 11:28Speaker 1: clothes that they've been just out in the wild with
- 11:30Speaker 1: and I'm just like screw in the wild of us
- 11:34Speaker 1: ammers no, no, no, no, ammersm wow out in the wild.
- 11:41Speaker 1: It's like they just sat on my bed. They might
- 11:45Speaker 1: as well, honestly, you know, like fart on your pillow
- 11:48Speaker 1: would buck me. If most people didn't. If there are
- 11:50Speaker 1: some that I would have made the exception. Oh please
- 11:54Speaker 1: please come in, sit down, please welcome. Oh boy, I
- 11:59Speaker 1: thought see you brought the dog. I thought they were
- 12:00Speaker 1: bringing up you know, Mac Jones, he's got some dog
- 12:02Speaker 1: in him. Apparently that was what from John. So there
- 12:06Speaker 1: you go. I thought that's where we're headed with it,
- 12:08Speaker 1: but apparently not. And I mean, we can't go there.
- 12:11Speaker 1: He listen because I didn't hear the Good Morning Football interview.
- 12:14Speaker 1: Now it was fine, it was fine, Jane. What else
- 12:16Speaker 1: was that John who out there saying he's excited and
- 12:19Speaker 1: that he likes Mac. That's Xago fall. It's pretty much him.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Dey do they do? Everybody seems like I'm actually I
- 12:26Speaker 1: saw a picture. Did you see a picture? I saw
- 12:27Speaker 1: a pictures Mac on vacation. Right now, there was somebody
- 12:30Speaker 1: saw somebody tagged me with a I think his sister
- 12:33Speaker 1: jan Mary the shirtless picture. Oh did he get after
- 12:36Speaker 1: it at the wedding? I don't know. No, he just
- 12:38Speaker 1: looked like he was standing in the water smiling. I
- 12:39Speaker 1: didn't look like any Shenanigans going on at a good time.
- 12:42Speaker 1: But he looked, you know, in better shape. His arm
- 12:44Speaker 1: looks stronger from the picture. So he went to a wedding.
- 12:46Speaker 1: Huh the last young quarterback we had that went to
- 12:48Speaker 1: a wedding in the offseason. Evidently that was like the
- 12:50Speaker 1: end of his time, like when Stidham did that right
- 12:54Speaker 1: right right, Remember how much that was on the radio.
- 12:57Speaker 1: So he doesn't want it much stuff. This reminds me
- 13:01Speaker 1: of I think it was the Giants. They like put
- 13:03Speaker 1: on a yacht together, and picture keeps surfacing. It's like
- 13:07Speaker 1: since this picture was taken the Giants or exit exit
- 13:10Speaker 1: like one only sixteen games. It's like something like that
- 13:12Speaker 1: this photo that was that that was the one before
- 13:15Speaker 1: the playoff game, right yeah, Packers and then Odell dropped
- 13:18Speaker 1: the ball in the end zone of ten helps cause yeah,
- 13:21Speaker 1: I just remember the picture of them all on it
- 13:23Speaker 1: like we'll just shut down outside of sleep, go to sleep,
- 13:27Speaker 1: go to sleep. Just choked pictures when the crying Jordan
- 13:30Speaker 1: meme was big and then after the whole ball just
- 13:32Speaker 1: got crying Jordan. That yeah, that picture resurfaces, so I
- 13:36Speaker 1: feel like every season, Yeah, it just keeps going. I'm like,
- 13:40Speaker 1: this is just that was like the golden age of
- 13:41Speaker 1: sports Twitter. Yeah, oh yeah, it used to be so fun.
- 13:46Speaker 1: It used to be so amazing. Did it missed? I
- 13:50Speaker 1: missed the funny tween. I mean it was already think
- 13:54Speaker 1: Going Downhill twenty fourteen ish, But I mean, now we
- 13:57Speaker 1: don't need the crying Jordan one. Now we have the
- 13:59Speaker 1: Jordan like and I took that personally, that's I like
- 14:02Speaker 1: that one. I mean too, I agree with I feel
- 14:04Speaker 1: like they're all already overplayed though, and I and I
- 14:06Speaker 1: took that personal. Jordan documentary was just so good and
- 14:10Speaker 1: none of us had anything else to do but watch
- 14:12Speaker 1: it totally instantly was like, okay, well every second of
- 14:16Speaker 1: this is going to get mean, it was an unbelievable
- 14:18Speaker 1: perfect storm of content that first of all, was really
- 14:21Speaker 1: well done at any time. But Alex is right the
- 14:25Speaker 1: fact that nobody had anything to do and we were
- 14:28Speaker 1: starred for something and then got that and shout out
- 14:31Speaker 1: shout out to ESPN for doing that for us because
- 14:34Speaker 1: it wasn't supposed to come up and moved it up.
- 14:36Speaker 1: They moved it out significantly up st of rush production
- 14:39Speaker 1: on it, and like it was really it was really good.
- 14:42Speaker 1: But it's the blessing. I totally, I totally agree with it,
- 14:45Speaker 1: and I took that personally. It makes me laugh every time.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Was that in? That and Tiger King? Those are the
- 14:50Speaker 1: two things. Like I felt like when we ride into lockdown,
- 14:52Speaker 1: everybody sorted Tiger King. I just like, and you know me,
- 14:54Speaker 1: I'm all for the moronics. Like I just finished out
- 14:57Speaker 1: our Bank second season, right, I did not see check Okay,
- 15:00Speaker 1: so I will. I am not above bad content. Evidently
- 15:04Speaker 1: Tiger King couldn't do it. I couldn't finish it, couldn't finish.
- 15:08Speaker 1: It was so bad. I couldn't finish it. Like I
- 15:10Speaker 1: just had nothing. It was one of those things where
- 15:12Speaker 1: it was so bad I couldn't turn it off and
- 15:15Speaker 1: then you were like ready to be downe with it.
- 15:16Speaker 1: Um same thing. Well, Love is Blind that was the
- 15:18Speaker 1: other one we did kind of at that time. I
- 15:20Speaker 1: thought Love is Blind was pretty good. Yeah, I personally,
- 15:23Speaker 1: I think it's always an interesting Um well we're really
- 15:26Speaker 1: going to get off the rail series today? Um well,
- 15:29Speaker 1: well we'll give you about fifteen minutes of content. Yeah,
- 15:32Speaker 1: like Julian Edelman was on you know yeah I am
- 15:35Speaker 1: a podcast. Yeah you know you garoppolo with Martellis Bennet.
- 15:39Speaker 1: We'll get to that in a little bit, but we
- 15:41Speaker 1: have more important stuff to do. But I will say
- 15:43Speaker 1: nothing is worse than too our conversation about soap. Yeah,
- 15:46Speaker 1: so right, we'll get off of that, um, but we're
- 15:48Speaker 1: gonna get into relationships. I'm not sure I care for
- 15:51Speaker 1: her tone. She's locking our offseason topics. I mean, I
- 15:55Speaker 1: love the social experiment of love is blind and like
- 15:58Speaker 1: I've always just like one of my pet peeves. And
- 16:00Speaker 1: I don't know if this is necessarily related, but like
- 16:02Speaker 1: my best friend, Like I don't think that you're like
- 16:05Speaker 1: who you marry should be your best friend. I hate
- 16:07Speaker 1: when people are like, you're not only my husband, but
- 16:09Speaker 1: you're my best friend too, like different things, different things
- 16:13Speaker 1: like don't like white, so is is above best friend?
- 16:18Speaker 1: Wife is above best friend? Okay, good listening right now. Yeah,
- 16:22Speaker 1: I've had this conversation. She's off, she's off with you.
- 16:29Speaker 1: But I think it's it's you know, like you can't
- 16:32Speaker 1: like just break up with your wife like your best friend,
- 16:34Speaker 1: Like like you tell your best friends certain things that
- 16:37Speaker 1: like and I don't want to. I like again, wife above,
- 16:39Speaker 1: best you tell best friend things that you don't tell
- 16:41Speaker 1: your wife. Is that what you're getting? Well, maybe some things,
- 16:44Speaker 1: but there's also everything you tell your wife, and there's
- 16:46Speaker 1: certainly things you wouldn't tell you best friend. But anyway,
- 16:48Speaker 1: this is just my long way of saying, like, I
- 16:49Speaker 1: just love relationship dynamics and that whole thing. I think
- 16:52Speaker 1: just kind of like it's just kind of random, like
- 16:54Speaker 1: you meet people do so mate, like it's not your
- 16:56Speaker 1: best friend, Like I anyway, Sorry, that's love is black.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Got me on this relationship tangent. But here we are. Well.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Instagram captions are like mock drafts. We all just regurgitate
- 17:06Speaker 1: our each other's So there you go. That's true. That's true.
- 17:10Speaker 1: I'm always searching on Pinterest, in Google for like Instagram captions. Actually,
- 17:15Speaker 1: now I do follow a few people on TikTok who
- 17:16Speaker 1: give you great ones, like captions for vacation, captions for
- 17:21Speaker 1: you can out friends everything. Now, yeah, it's amazing, like
- 17:24Speaker 1: someone else can write in that you're having a great
- 17:26Speaker 1: time on vacation, Like is that? Like, like what are
- 17:29Speaker 1: you looking for? Like what kind of you need? You
- 17:31Speaker 1: need like puny ones like, oh, we need to be witty. Yeah,
- 17:34Speaker 1: scal I mean we can got a scale back, I
- 17:36Speaker 1: mean puns witty, sorry, witty, okay, sorry sorry. You can't
- 17:41Speaker 1: like basic on Instagram, Mikes. I write captions for girls
- 17:45Speaker 1: on Instagram. Now, that's it's luc copywriting is a real job. Yeah,
- 17:53Speaker 1: fun in the sun. No, no, no, that's not good enough.
- 17:58Speaker 1: I can't believe this. It's like you go to Miami
- 18:02Speaker 1: and you write as your caption, taking my talents to here.
- 18:05Speaker 1: You go, Oh my gosht print it, print it. That's
- 18:08Speaker 1: what you're looking for. That's what I don't know. I
- 18:11Speaker 1: don't do Instagram, Paul's and no caption, I don't. I
- 18:14Speaker 1: don't do Instagram. Yeah, no Instagram at all. No, just Twitter. Yeah,
- 18:19Speaker 1: and I only I only do Twitter because I don't.
- 18:23Speaker 1: I don't do snap snappy. I think my kids would
- 18:25Speaker 1: be really upset at me if they found me on
- 18:27Speaker 1: you Snap. You're not snapping your your kids? What about TikTok? No,
- 18:30Speaker 1: I love the TikTok. I'm out on No. No, I'm
- 18:33Speaker 1: twice as old as you like I do Facebook. You've
- 18:36Speaker 1: been suppressed, Paul. You could to your demented interests, and
- 18:40Speaker 1: you would probably, but I'm with the olds. I'm with
- 18:42Speaker 1: the old, not I'm with the old the old fields.
- 18:47Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, that's me so weighing in on the dogs.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Brent from Indiana. He's okay with big dogs, but you
- 18:54Speaker 1: should always be cautious of them, especially with children. He
- 18:57Speaker 1: has a friend who had a Great Dane that bit
- 19:00Speaker 1: one of the kids. She baby sits ears off because
- 19:03Speaker 1: the kid was being mean to her child. The dog
- 19:05Speaker 1: is no longer around, but that's why you should always
- 19:08Speaker 1: cautious around long that area. To this point too, I
- 19:13Speaker 1: did hear so this girl, I know, she had a
- 19:16Speaker 1: baby and she has two big dogs at home. You
- 19:19Speaker 1: let the dog sniff like the babies blanket before you
- 19:22Speaker 1: bring it home. Yeah, sure, I've started that. Still it's
- 19:25Speaker 1: not really all that encouraged. It knows the s right
- 19:28Speaker 1: and well the other part of that too, isn't Like
- 19:30Speaker 1: in that email just said like because the baby, because
- 19:33Speaker 1: the child was being mean. Like, yeah, that's part of
- 19:36Speaker 1: it too, Like you can't always control what's going to
- 19:39Speaker 1: happen around the dog. It may not have been the
- 19:40Speaker 1: dog's fault, but he was pushed to it to a point,
- 19:43Speaker 1: you know, protecting my kid, that's that stuff worries me. Yep,
- 19:47Speaker 1: I think it tends to be more on the people
- 19:49Speaker 1: raising the dog than but I don't know. Stuff always happens.
- 19:52Speaker 1: They're wild animals, right right. That's my that's my contention,
- 19:57Speaker 1: So no, bring your dog to work that coming soon.
- 20:00Speaker 1: I like a lot of activity at the stadium City.
- 20:02Speaker 1: It's disconcerting to me, like this metal being Yeah, like
- 20:06Speaker 1: it's there's a lot of noise. Matt's like really a
- 20:08Speaker 1: flutter in there. He's get running out of the studio.
- 20:11Speaker 1: The Dead End Company concert Friday and Saturday, I don't,
- 20:15Speaker 1: I don't. I think it's just one day. I don't
- 20:17Speaker 1: know if they Chris going the day after. Are you
- 20:21Speaker 1: we got free tickets? No? Oh, those are free tickets
- 20:26Speaker 1: you could get for that maybe. Yeah, I got an
- 20:28Speaker 1: email yesterday. Yeah. I think they rescheduled the concerts, so
- 20:32Speaker 1: they're trying to fill some seats, maybe with people couldn't
- 20:34Speaker 1: attend The Grateful Dead, Grateful Dead down John all the
- 20:39Speaker 1: way up. I thought Connecticuts a cover band, Yeah, Fairfield, Connecticut.
- 20:43Speaker 1: I thought they were like like Bob Weir and stuff.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Some of the guys were because that's like the dead
- 20:47Speaker 1: the dead End company, the End company or the other dudes.
- 20:50Speaker 1: Mayor's the company? Yeah, is he? Is he going to
- 20:53Speaker 1: be here? Are you going? Um? I don't know. I
- 20:56Speaker 1: was trying to get to the cape. I'm a big
- 20:58Speaker 1: John Mayer fan, but not necessarily a grateful Dead fan. Yeah,
- 21:01Speaker 1: a lot of jam, a lot of jam JAM. I
- 21:04Speaker 1: would go to like maybe see John around the tunnel maybe,
- 21:06Speaker 1: but I don't mind if he coming and sit on
- 21:13Speaker 1: the bed there. I mean, he's an al Teimer all
- 21:16Speaker 1: time guy. So are we going to discuss the Edelman thing?
- 21:20Speaker 1: Yeahedeman thing was big interview yesterday, you know, because you
- 21:23Speaker 1: know I'm a huge fan of Bennett too, right, Yeah,
- 21:25Speaker 1: Paul Paul doesn't like one of the all time frauds.
- 21:28Speaker 1: But for contact, they were, Um so the two thousand
- 21:33Speaker 1: and sixteen Patriots were very critical of Jimmy Garoppolo, and
- 21:36Speaker 1: I don't think that's that's nothing new there, but interesting
- 21:40Speaker 1: to see Um Edelman sort of I was, I gotta
- 21:43Speaker 1: be honest, I was a little disappointed that Edelman sort
- 21:45Speaker 1: of jumped on that bandwagon yesterday. Um, not as mean,
- 21:50Speaker 1: um mean spirited as Bennett, Like I wouldn't disagree, but
- 21:54Speaker 1: I wouldn't necessarily disagree. Like, listen, I get it when
- 21:57Speaker 1: you're part of a team and you're you know, you're
- 21:59Speaker 1: fighting to win games. You know, you'd like to see
- 22:02Speaker 1: everybody doing everything they can. But I can also see
- 22:04Speaker 1: it from Garoppolo's perspective. You know, his he hasn't made anything.
- 22:09Speaker 1: He's a backup. He says, no marketability, and he was hurt,
- 22:13Speaker 1: and he's going to go up there and play hurt
- 22:15Speaker 1: and a risk further injuring himself or be played poorly
- 22:20Speaker 1: because he wasn't healthy. Yeah, so now that one of
- 22:23Speaker 1: those things helps him not at all doing what he did.
- 22:26Speaker 1: He ended up getting a huge contract. So yeah, you know,
- 22:30Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean, I don't think any of
- 22:31Speaker 1: us knows how injured Jimmy Garoppolo was. Could he play
- 22:35Speaker 1: I don't know. I know they were disappointed, the coaches
- 22:38Speaker 1: were disappointed, but I I don't know. I thought Edelman's
- 22:41Speaker 1: comments jumping on the bandwagon with Bennett, I was a
- 22:45Speaker 1: little disappointed. I was a little bit surprised too that
- 22:47Speaker 1: he I guess, how did we put it? Like, I
- 22:49Speaker 1: wouldn't disagree something like a wee and I think Matt
- 22:52Speaker 1: has the audio. We can play it. He has made
- 22:59Speaker 1: the decision on Thursday. Now it's Sunday. Quote from Martella
- 23:05Speaker 1: Spennett said that about you. No Jimmy glo oh no.
- 23:11Speaker 1: The year that Brady had a vacation for four games, Um,
- 23:17Speaker 1: we had Jimmy Garoppolo. He came in. We go two
- 23:20Speaker 1: and oh we had two. Really, we go on the road.
- 23:22Speaker 1: We have a really good game against the Cardinals, which
- 23:26Speaker 1: was you know that that was huge. Go on the road,
- 23:28Speaker 1: beat a good Cardinals team that was a projected playoff
- 23:31Speaker 1: team at the time. With the rookie or with the
- 23:34Speaker 1: first time starter, he gets to win. There we go
- 23:36Speaker 1: and we beat Miami. He looks pretty good. You know,
- 23:39Speaker 1: we were executed at a high level. Gets hurt in
- 23:47Speaker 1: Week three, like the first quarter against the Buffalo Bills
- 23:51Speaker 1: or the Jets, and he hurts his non throwing shoulder,
- 23:56Speaker 1: his left shoulder, and Jacobe came in led us to
- 24:01Speaker 1: a win. And the next week but in the game
- 24:03Speaker 1: JACOBEI deal like the norm thrown. I mean, I don't know,
- 24:07Speaker 1: we're all football players here, but Jacoby broke it. He
- 24:11Speaker 1: tore his ligaments in the thumb. In the win against
- 24:15Speaker 1: the Week three team, and so we go into Week
- 24:18Speaker 1: four and you know, I guess, you know, Jimmy was
- 24:22Speaker 1: practicing and then you know, deciding not to play, and
- 24:26Speaker 1: Jacoby played with you know, no ligaments in the stumb,
- 24:29Speaker 1: which you can't do that as a quarterback. You can't
- 24:31Speaker 1: grip and if it's your left and a lot of
- 24:33Speaker 1: a lot of guys got mad about it. A lot
- 24:35Speaker 1: of guys got mad. I'm not gonna lie. I got
- 24:36Speaker 1: mad about it. You know, I sacrificed my body all
- 24:39Speaker 1: damn long, all day long, I was taking shots for
- 24:42Speaker 1: this numbing up that ribs, broken, ribs, shoulders, you know,
- 24:48Speaker 1: grade three, hanging on by limbs just to play, you know.
- 24:52Speaker 1: And you know, I can understand why Malarty thinks like that. Yeah,
- 24:59Speaker 1: So I mean that's kind of encapsulates it. And again,
- 25:02Speaker 1: I don't have a problem with players looking at that
- 25:05Speaker 1: and saying I'm not one hundred percent and I'm playing
- 25:09Speaker 1: and he should be playing too. I just think it's
- 25:12Speaker 1: easy to criticize from afar without knowing, like Julian says
- 25:19Speaker 1: very dismissively his non throwing shoulder, like okay, so does
- 25:22Speaker 1: that not hurt? Is that not part of the equation
- 25:24Speaker 1: because it's his non throwing shoulder, he should be able
- 25:26Speaker 1: to play. I think it was hard to insinuate that
- 25:29Speaker 1: Brissette had literally in his throwing hand torn ligaments. Right,
- 25:34Speaker 1: So who do you think would do it differently if
- 25:38Speaker 1: they had to do it again, Brissette or Garoppolo. Keeping mind,
- 25:44Speaker 1: Garoppolo has probably made more money in his career than Edelman. Wow,
- 25:48Speaker 1: that's an interesting way like quarterback. I'm sorry, I don't
- 25:54Speaker 1: know how injured he was. That to me, is is
- 25:56Speaker 1: the part of the equation that I can't define. But
- 26:01Speaker 1: I don't think I would do it anything differently if
- 26:03Speaker 1: I were Garoppolo, he had no If he goes out
- 26:05Speaker 1: there and plays badly, he hasn't. He gets nothing. No
- 26:10Speaker 1: one's trading for him, no one's giving him what at
- 26:13Speaker 1: the time was one of the most lucrative quarterback contracts
- 26:15Speaker 1: in football in San Francisco, Right, that's what he got.
- 26:19Speaker 1: If he played like crap, no one's gonna say, Oh,
- 26:22Speaker 1: but he was hurt. He was he was doing the
- 26:24Speaker 1: team a solid. No, you know, he could be in
- 26:26Speaker 1: year five and be looking like a journeyman like Oh,
- 26:30Speaker 1: Jacoby Brissette. Yeah, who's been a journeyman ever since. I
- 26:34Speaker 1: think Edeman was a little bit mixed up on some
- 26:36Speaker 1: of those details. But um, but that first win was awesome.
- 26:39Speaker 1: I mean, that was a huge first game. And I
- 26:41Speaker 1: remember that long touchdown to Hogan. But I remember just
- 26:44Speaker 1: before Jimmy got hurt week two against Miami, of like
- 26:47Speaker 1: all of a sudden, they just clicked and it was like, whoo,
- 26:50Speaker 1: that's the best that he looked was the first quarter
- 26:52Speaker 1: and a half against touchdown touchdown, just like just lightning
- 26:57Speaker 1: precision right down the field. That's what a check had
- 27:00Speaker 1: sort of always told us about Garoppolo, and in that
- 27:03Speaker 1: window you saw it. He comes out. But he got hurt,
- 27:06Speaker 1: but he got smoked. I mean when he got hit,
- 27:08Speaker 1: it was like who. Like, I mean, I don't think
- 27:11Speaker 1: I was at all surprised that he didn't play the
- 27:13Speaker 1: next couple weeks. I mean, it seemed like it was
- 27:15Speaker 1: at least a separated shoulder, and I mean, at least
- 27:18Speaker 1: in the time. It just made you appreciate how Tom
- 27:21Speaker 1: Brady could be so like healthy always like I mean,
- 27:26Speaker 1: just and never have those things happen to him. And meanwhile,
- 27:28Speaker 1: you've got your two backups and somehow both of them
- 27:31Speaker 1: managed to sustain significant injuries. Meanwhile, Tom Brady's you know,
- 27:34Speaker 1: one season he really he really dealt with injuries. It
- 27:37Speaker 1: was that was crazy to me. Also to know it
- 27:39Speaker 1: isn't Jimmy g get surgery on that shoulder this offseason.
- 27:42Speaker 1: Was that this one or that one to me at
- 27:44Speaker 1: the same shoulder. I don't know, I don't know. I
- 27:46Speaker 1: mean it very well could be so still, it could
- 27:47Speaker 1: be the start. I mean, there's no question that's That's
- 27:49Speaker 1: the number one thing on Jimmy Garoppolo's resume is injury pro.
- 27:53Speaker 1: He tends to get hurt, you know. I don't know
- 27:56Speaker 1: if he's fragile or unlucky or whatever. But twenty L
- 28:00Speaker 1: bad shoulder injuries. It's weird bad angle injuries decisions too, though,
- 28:04Speaker 1: you know, like like like totally TWL and even and
- 28:08Speaker 1: I think even like and I can't totally picture the
- 28:10Speaker 1: Miami one, but I seem to remember being like it
- 28:12Speaker 1: was late and that they extended it. I told him
- 28:15Speaker 1: he didn't know how to fall. Remember, Yeah, there's a
- 28:18Speaker 1: lot of buzzwords coming out of the locker room. I
- 28:21Speaker 1: got to learn how to fall. It was all, you know,
- 28:23Speaker 1: really the hey day of the Alex Guerrero. Yeah, you know,
- 28:26Speaker 1: well nonsense and and you know, just to tie it
- 28:28Speaker 1: a little bit to a personal experience I had was,
- 28:30Speaker 1: you know, my senior of of college hockey. Like we were,
- 28:33Speaker 1: you know, we really expected to win the league, and
- 28:35Speaker 1: we had an awesome young goaltender, Um, who was a
- 28:37Speaker 1: little bit of not cas as goaltenders often tend to be.
- 28:41Speaker 1: And a third of the way into the season he quit.
- 28:44Speaker 1: And at the time he said it was, you know,
- 28:47Speaker 1: because of a concussion. And back then and we were
- 28:50Speaker 1: all like, you're serious, You're not going to play hockey
- 28:53Speaker 1: the rest of this year, Like we don't even really
- 28:54Speaker 1: have a backup, so you're like all of our plans
- 28:57Speaker 1: for our big senior year, you know. So we were
- 28:59Speaker 1: very up with him too, you know. And now when
- 29:02Speaker 1: you look at it and you consider how serious concussions
- 29:04Speaker 1: are and the problems that we know now that that
- 29:07Speaker 1: kid was actually having, it's like you feel a little
- 29:10Speaker 1: bad now in retrospect, being like, oh, he should have
- 29:12Speaker 1: just sucked it up and you know, made his brain
- 29:15Speaker 1: a French fry to play, you know, play hockey. Who
- 29:17Speaker 1: cares but Um, But you understand it's competitive and you know, yeah,
- 29:22Speaker 1: I understand where, but I wish you would just kind
- 29:25Speaker 1: of pump the brakes in a little bit. And that's
- 29:27Speaker 1: why it's so interesting that he didn't, because usually that
- 29:29Speaker 1: would seem to be his m O. He's not really
- 29:32Speaker 1: trying to like be super edgier. Russia still around and
- 29:36Speaker 1: Julian's in the media now, like you that you really
- 29:39Speaker 1: expect that from Martellis Bennett. He's super cheeky and makes
- 29:42Speaker 1: comments like that, and like you could see even when
- 29:46Speaker 1: the original comments were made from Marty on the mccordy's podcast,
- 29:50Speaker 1: the mccordys like didn't know what to do. They were
- 29:52Speaker 1: just laughing. You could tell they kind of I got
- 29:55Speaker 1: the sense at least that they kind of aren't agreement,
- 29:57Speaker 1: but just really awkwardly like we don't know what to
- 30:00Speaker 1: say because we're good guys in right, I mean that
- 30:03Speaker 1: you just summarize it perfectly what we probably feel the
- 30:06Speaker 1: same way, but we have a little too much class
- 30:08Speaker 1: then to throw them under the bus. And you know
- 30:10Speaker 1: the Garoppolo thing, I'm just thinking that group used to
- 30:14Speaker 1: go to the Kentucky Derby, right right, was it was Tom,
- 30:17Speaker 1: Tom and Garoppolo Amadola Edelman and Gronk that that they
- 30:23Speaker 1: just go they used to hang out together. I think
- 30:25Speaker 1: Matt Castle might have been part of that too, Like, yeah, yeah,
- 30:29Speaker 1: I was a little surprised that Edelman was so willingly
- 30:31Speaker 1: And again I understand the mindset. I understand what they're thinking.
- 30:35Speaker 1: We're doing everything we can to win. Why aren't you?
- 30:37Speaker 1: It's basically what they're saying. And I'm also is kind
- 30:40Speaker 1: of put on the spot a little. Yeah, And the
- 30:43Speaker 1: nature of that, right, they hand the quote and it's
- 30:46Speaker 1: in that SA they didn't even know that it's about
- 30:48Speaker 1: you like you who is just like perpetually unprepared, and
- 30:53Speaker 1: that's under who knows what substances. When I was recording
- 30:57Speaker 1: the whole interview I was watching, I was like, swaggyp
- 30:59Speaker 1: is on another planet. Now he's not even in this interview.
- 31:02Speaker 1: One other thing I like from that that I caught
- 31:05Speaker 1: was Edelman talking about Brady and practicing with Brady in
- 31:08Speaker 1: the offseason and just how intense Brady was putting him
- 31:11Speaker 1: through every permutation of the offensive play, keeping each other smart.
- 31:17Speaker 1: And it's just another example which we all know how
- 31:21Speaker 1: how locked in you know, Tom was and how much
- 31:23Speaker 1: he expected of his receivers, And you know, we get
- 31:26Speaker 1: a lot of questions though about like, you know, guys
- 31:28Speaker 1: making a second year jump in the offense. And I
- 31:30Speaker 1: know we've had people right into asking about, oh, well,
- 31:33Speaker 1: you know, players make a jump in the second year.
- 31:35Speaker 1: I think that that's kind of just something people say.
- 31:38Speaker 1: But I mean, I think it's a lot different. Where
- 31:41Speaker 1: do you have more hope this year, a little bit
- 31:43Speaker 1: that that things could be better, Whereas, like with Brady before,
- 31:46Speaker 1: if a guy came in didn't really click with Brady,
- 31:48Speaker 1: I felt like, you're probably not going to get it,
- 31:50Speaker 1: like if you can't. But with you know, you have
- 31:52Speaker 1: Mac now, so I don't I think Mac was as
- 31:54Speaker 1: much learning last year too, So I don't think that.
- 31:57Speaker 1: I mean, I don't want to say that Mac would
- 31:58Speaker 1: ice or lock people out like sometimes Brady was kind
- 32:01Speaker 1: of accused of doing. But I do wonder if as
- 32:04Speaker 1: an offense, it's maybe that there's a little bit more
- 32:06Speaker 1: hope for those guys that they can improve, Whereas you know,
- 32:08Speaker 1: when Brady was here, it was like and maybe I'm wrong,
- 32:11Speaker 1: maybe maybe you can think of somebody Paul that like
- 32:13Speaker 1: maybe first year didn't quite stack it up with Brady,
- 32:15Speaker 1: But it seems like he kind of knew pretty quick
- 32:17Speaker 1: if he liked your he didn't, and if he wants
- 32:19Speaker 1: to work with you. And you know, guys didn't really
- 32:21Speaker 1: hang on very long. If you couldn't do it, you
- 32:23Speaker 1: were pretty much I mean, even guys like Kemberrell Tompkins
- 32:25Speaker 1: that I mean, he looked pretty good as a rookie,
- 32:27Speaker 1: Like he came in like you're at a point where
- 32:29Speaker 1: you really need some receivers. Things were turning over a
- 32:31Speaker 1: little bit, and he had a good couple of years.
- 32:33Speaker 1: But but you could tell that those guys were targets.
- 32:37Speaker 1: Like in the same thing in oh six, you could
- 32:39Speaker 1: tell the targets that were targets because they were doing
- 32:41Speaker 1: ones here. Yeah, and Tompkins and Dobson got that in
- 32:44Speaker 1: thirteen called Well, and you know the difference between like
- 32:48Speaker 1: riche called Well, Doug Gabriel and Jabbar Gaffney as an example,
- 32:52Speaker 1: you know six, like you could just tell that some
- 32:54Speaker 1: of these guys are getting passes because someone's got to
- 32:56Speaker 1: catch passes, you know. And then Jabbark Gaffney stuck around
- 32:59Speaker 1: for a few years because you could tell that he
- 33:01Speaker 1: understood what Brady wanted, which gets us to the offense
- 33:05Speaker 1: in general, right, Like, you know, then all this talk
- 33:07Speaker 1: about streamlining the offense, and I think they probably will
- 33:10Speaker 1: sort of get away a little bit from the demands
- 33:13Speaker 1: that Brady had. Because Brady has you know, ascended to
- 33:17Speaker 1: such a high level within the offense, they probably will
- 33:19Speaker 1: take a step back and look at it a little
- 33:21Speaker 1: bit differently. You know, not to get two football nerdy
- 33:23Speaker 1: here today, because I know we got we got the
- 33:26Speaker 1: full squad um. But I'll just talk about the offense
- 33:29Speaker 1: and some of the things that I've kind of been
- 33:31Speaker 1: picking up. Our pos, our PEOs were huge for Mac
- 33:35Speaker 1: Jones in college and he was one of the best
- 33:37Speaker 1: at those. Didn't really do him last year, I know
- 33:40Speaker 1: Joe Judge with with Daniel Jones did um. I just
- 33:43Speaker 1: wonder we didn't see any of that. I know everyone
- 33:45Speaker 1: wants to talk about the wide zones and stuff that
- 33:47Speaker 1: they were running in practice, but I wonder if our
- 33:50Speaker 1: pos are going to be a thing where you take
- 33:52Speaker 1: advantage of more of those and Moore putting on Mac
- 33:55Speaker 1: of you know, reading a defender pulling it down or
- 33:58Speaker 1: or you know, or or or throwing it to the
- 34:00Speaker 1: open guy. Like, I wonder if our pos are going
- 34:02Speaker 1: to be the thing that kind of jumps forward this year,
- 34:05Speaker 1: and that's what that's what is like the new kind
- 34:07Speaker 1: of piece of the offense that they lean on, which
- 34:09Speaker 1: we haven't really seen any of, but I don't think
- 34:11Speaker 1: that we will. I think that that would be something
- 34:13Speaker 1: that would kind of hide and not be like, Wow,
- 34:14Speaker 1: they're doing a ton of RPOs here in mini keys,
- 34:17Speaker 1: you know, something something that could be coming down the
- 34:19Speaker 1: pike to just be aware of, especially with like reading
- 34:21Speaker 1: a Sarksian and you know what he was doing there,
- 34:25Speaker 1: And I just think that's something that was untapped. And
- 34:27Speaker 1: you look at kind of a traditional running approach. Last year,
- 34:31Speaker 1: a lot of the elements of the offense were kind of,
- 34:33Speaker 1: you know, consistent with what they've always done. I wonder
- 34:35Speaker 1: if that's you look at it. You have you have
- 34:37Speaker 1: two guys and I don't know which one is in charge,
- 34:39Speaker 1: but in Judge in Patricia who don't have any experience
- 34:42Speaker 1: in the offense. You have a quarterback who has been
- 34:44Speaker 1: in the offense for one year. You have a bunch
- 34:47Speaker 1: of receivers who have been in the offense for one
- 34:48Speaker 1: year or none. In the case of Parker and Thornton.
- 34:52Speaker 1: It's a good time to sort of, you know, take
- 34:54Speaker 1: a look at things and say, we don't have to
- 34:56Speaker 1: throw everything away because these guys don't have a vast
- 34:59Speaker 1: reservoir knowledge of this offense, So why not maybe make
- 35:03Speaker 1: it a little bit more comfortable for Mac by saying
- 35:06Speaker 1: what did you do with Alabama? Well? What did you do?
- 35:08Speaker 1: And you know, what are some of the things you've
- 35:10Speaker 1: done in the past that you really like? You know, well, good,
- 35:14Speaker 1: I like sticks. You know, we'll go back to like
- 35:16Speaker 1: Tom talking to Drew Bledsoe on the sideline about the
- 35:19Speaker 1: things that he felt most comfortable with. Maybe Mac Jones
- 35:22Speaker 1: is more comfortable on RPOs to your example. I don't know.
- 35:25Speaker 1: I don't know either, but I mean it's and it's
- 35:26Speaker 1: you know, like I said, it certainly something Daniel Jones
- 35:28Speaker 1: and Joe Judge kind of worked with a little bit.
- 35:30Speaker 1: So I just going back and looking at Mac in
- 35:33Speaker 1: college and all the things that he was really good at,
- 35:35Speaker 1: like that just continually pops up, and you know, I
- 35:38Speaker 1: think kind of lost that over the course of the season,
- 35:40Speaker 1: and now looking back, it's like, well, if they're going
- 35:41Speaker 1: to attack to something that was like his most successful
- 35:45Speaker 1: thing in college, you know, so I don't know something
- 35:48Speaker 1: something to watch for for sure, but I just I
- 35:50Speaker 1: think they got little things bruin that they haven't shown
- 35:52Speaker 1: us to see if he has guys like you know,
- 35:54Speaker 1: Jalen Waddle and Jerry Judy and yeah, well but you
- 35:58Speaker 1: know Matt Smith running right right. Yeah, well but you know,
- 36:02Speaker 1: I mean, but it's also using the you know, just
- 36:05Speaker 1: using the scheme to help you and put the defenders.
- 36:07Speaker 1: I mean, how many times last year we see Miami
- 36:09Speaker 1: put our guys in a blender and they're like, I
- 36:10Speaker 1: don't know what to do, and you know it's an
- 36:12Speaker 1: easy path. I mean, you know, nobody does more urpos
- 36:15Speaker 1: than two in Miami, so you know, it's not in
- 36:17Speaker 1: every day. Just kind of made me think of the
- 36:19Speaker 1: Alabama thing, because I do think that's what those guys ran,
- 36:22Speaker 1: like quick reads, quick slants, you know, you know, in
- 36:26Speaker 1: the case of Too, I think he probably is better
- 36:30Speaker 1: when you take away a lot of the decision making.
- 36:32Speaker 1: I think Mac is fine in that that department, but
- 36:35Speaker 1: maybe doesn't have the same physical gifts is some other guys.
- 36:38Speaker 1: So I think some of those things work for those
- 36:40Speaker 1: Alabama guys. That's why there was so success. And it
- 36:42Speaker 1: ties into Buffalo too. I mean, you know, Miami's number one.
- 36:44Speaker 1: I think Buffalo was maybe third, fourth and there in
- 36:47Speaker 1: RPO stuff. So I mean, it's it's just something that
- 36:49Speaker 1: I think has been a thorn in their side defensively
- 36:52Speaker 1: and an untapped resource offensively. So I don't know something
- 36:55Speaker 1: we gave you some football. There you go, all right,
- 36:57Speaker 1: you're done. Back to girlfriends. Well, to be a little relevant,
- 37:02Speaker 1: we did just get a question sticking with the offense
- 37:06Speaker 1: from Richard in Ohio. With all these wide receiver twos
- 37:09Speaker 1: on the Patriots roster, who do you think emerges as
- 37:12Speaker 1: WR one? My bet is on Taekwon Thornton. I'm probably
- 37:16Speaker 1: setting myself up for disappointment, but I think he's going
- 37:19Speaker 1: to be special. But I also thought to kill Harry
- 37:21Speaker 1: would win Rookie over the year. Oh that's quite the disclaimer.
- 37:26Speaker 1: I mean, I think it's a great question, and I
- 37:28Speaker 1: think we've talked about it a ton that they just
- 37:29Speaker 1: they've got a bunch of us. You brought everybody back.
- 37:32Speaker 1: You added Parker, you added Thornton, you added Time Montgomery,
- 37:35Speaker 1: you drafted two running backs. You've already got two tight
- 37:38Speaker 1: ends that you gave big contracts too. There's just a
- 37:40Speaker 1: ton of guys at the skill positions right now, and
- 37:42Speaker 1: you know he put it as twos. That's, you know fine.
- 37:46Speaker 1: I just hope somebody emerges, Like I don't want it
- 37:48Speaker 1: to be a hard decision. I want it to be
- 37:50Speaker 1: when we get to camp. These are the guys that
- 37:52Speaker 1: are lightening it up. You know, all right, Hey, we
- 37:54Speaker 1: threw Thornton there for a couple of plays and he's
- 37:55Speaker 1: beating everybody down the field. I don't know if Thornton's
- 37:58Speaker 1: gonna be in the number one, so to speak. I
- 37:59Speaker 1: just think he is that Parker Agalore last year outside
- 38:02Speaker 1: X receiver that you know, kind of stretches the field.
- 38:05Speaker 1: I don't know, and that's year. I'm hoping it's Kendrick Born.
- 38:11Speaker 1: I think it'll be Kendrick Borne. Yeah, I think it.
- 38:13Speaker 1: I'm hoping it's Kendrick Borne. And I don't want them
- 38:16Speaker 1: to just emerge. I want them to emerge and like
- 38:19Speaker 1: remain consistent. I think that's the issue. It's like I
- 38:22Speaker 1: don't want them to just like float to the top,
- 38:25Speaker 1: rise to the top during training camp and then the
- 38:27Speaker 1: season starts and you're like, yeah, well, you'd hope with
- 38:29Speaker 1: all the numbers that it's that there's going to be
- 38:31Speaker 1: competition and that you know, when when balls are thrown
- 38:33Speaker 1: to guys like Nelson Agloor, like you gotta catch it,
- 38:36Speaker 1: you know, like these are the that you know, you
- 38:38Speaker 1: want every throw to have some kind of meaning, I
- 38:40Speaker 1: think in training camp, but I can't think of anything
- 38:43Speaker 1: worse than going out there and being like, I don't know,
- 38:46Speaker 1: it's not really different whether it's a would you say
- 38:49Speaker 1: was the number one guy last year? I mean, I
- 38:52Speaker 1: guess it emerged into into Borne. I would say, see,
- 38:54Speaker 1: I think and I know, you know, I struggle with
- 38:57Speaker 1: this number one thing. It's hard to look past the number.
- 39:00Speaker 1: And I mean, obviously mystically it was Myers, but I
- 39:03Speaker 1: do think it by the end of the season it
- 39:05Speaker 1: was Born. Yeah, and I think that will continue. I
- 39:08Speaker 1: would love it to be Myers, Like if he can
- 39:10Speaker 1: actually get in the end zone, wouldn't that'd be great?
- 39:13Speaker 1: That was a great moment last year. But yeah, I
- 39:16Speaker 1: mean I just you know, and this gets into like
- 39:18Speaker 1: what does that mean in number one? Like you know,
- 39:20Speaker 1: like I Myers was like the reliable slot receiver and
- 39:25Speaker 1: you know, Born was kind of the z that that
- 39:27Speaker 1: that made his fair share of big plays down the field.
- 39:30Speaker 1: And I'm not all down the field, but you know,
- 39:32Speaker 1: had he had a number of good good catches last
- 39:34Speaker 1: year and big moments and stuff. But I just don't
- 39:37Speaker 1: know what's best for the offense is is you know,
- 39:40Speaker 1: to have one or two guys really emerge, or to
- 39:42Speaker 1: have three or four guys all be pretty solid. Like
- 39:44Speaker 1: it's you just need to find stuff. And I think
- 39:46Speaker 1: that applies to the defensive side of the ball too.
- 39:48Speaker 1: You gotta find you got to find new contributors this
- 39:51Speaker 1: year that can like push the pace, you know, not
- 39:54Speaker 1: just be out there, but can actually be plus players.
- 39:57Speaker 1: And if they don't find those guys at linebacker, if
- 39:59Speaker 1: some of these receivers don't emerge, I think you know
- 40:01Speaker 1: you're looking at a similar slash step backwards till last year.
- 40:07Speaker 1: Dan in Virginia in Michigan, Dan NBA in m I
- 40:12Speaker 1: ye Dan from Virginia who's now in Michigan. Yeah, I
- 40:16Speaker 1: think in Virginia by way of Michigan or other way around. Yeah,
- 40:20Speaker 1: I think it's the other way around from Virginia. But
- 40:22Speaker 1: I'm in Boston. So what would you say for me?
- 40:24Speaker 1: Tamara in Virginia in Boston, Tamara from Virginia and Boston.
- 40:29Speaker 1: Tamara in Boston from Virginia. So good day for you crew.
- 40:35Speaker 1: Eric doesn't do captions for photos, just watermarks. Tamara, My
- 40:41Speaker 1: apologies if I got that wrong. Talked about using her
- 40:43Speaker 1: dog for protection when she walks. Nope, that was me. Um.
- 40:46Speaker 1: Does she also use the dog to evaluate potential relationships?
- 40:49Speaker 1: I know of someone who would bring boyfriends home to
- 40:51Speaker 1: meet her dog. If the dog had a bad reaction
- 40:54Speaker 1: to the boyfriend, she would break off the relationship. Did
- 40:57Speaker 1: you guys do that? I have never dog people dated
- 41:01Speaker 1: a guy that wasn't a dog person. So wait, but
- 41:04Speaker 1: I do trust. I trust a dog when they don't
- 41:08Speaker 1: like a person more than I trust a person that
- 41:10Speaker 1: doesn't like a dog. Okay, so then you agree. Then
- 41:13Speaker 1: you agree with Dan to say that if your dog
- 41:17Speaker 1: didn't like this person, you'd break it off. I think
- 41:20Speaker 1: if my dog was like, really not into someone. Does
- 41:23Speaker 1: that happen though? Does the dog not get into people? Yes,
- 41:28Speaker 1: it's never happened to me personally, but I think they can.
- 41:31Speaker 1: I think they would. Dogs would give us a half time. Wait,
- 41:34Speaker 1: do you trust? You trust the first impression? The dog's
- 41:37Speaker 1: first impression? The first impression rose. I would have to
- 41:40Speaker 1: be put in the situation and see it, I think
- 41:42Speaker 1: for my face to then get my own intuition about
- 41:45Speaker 1: the situation. But like the dog just looks at her.
- 41:49Speaker 1: It's like, nah, Brady looks at me. Now better else,
- 41:55Speaker 1: be better. You deserve more than this guy. You can't
- 41:58Speaker 1: give you what You didn't even pat me well, according
- 42:00Speaker 1: to this According to this analogy, the only time this
- 42:04Speaker 1: woman continued with a relationship despite a bad reaction from
- 42:08Speaker 1: the dog, she came to eventually find out the dog
- 42:10Speaker 1: was right. He had another question, So it's true a
- 42:15Speaker 1: dog is truly a man's best friend because the best
- 42:17Speaker 1: friend would know. Maybe the dogs just have a sense
- 42:22Speaker 1: that we don't. They definitely do that. But I'm going
- 42:25Speaker 1: to trust that they can smell a lot of stuff too,
- 42:27Speaker 1: So I mean, you're picking potential guys and they can
- 42:30Speaker 1: you know, you're not going to get a smell any one.
- 42:32Speaker 1: Probably Dan in Virginia in Michigan also wants to know
- 42:36Speaker 1: what do you think is the most important quality for
- 42:37Speaker 1: a quarterback to have that is not specifically related to
- 42:40Speaker 1: playing football. Examples would be things like toughness, work ethic, composure,
- 42:44Speaker 1: or charisma. It wouldn't be things like speed or the
- 42:46Speaker 1: ability to diagnose defenses. All. I would say charisma because
- 42:52Speaker 1: I think all the rest of the stuff is football. Yeah,
- 42:55Speaker 1: toughness is football, that's do you think? Like, so, I
- 42:59Speaker 1: think to be a great quarterback you got to kind
- 43:01Speaker 1: of have an error about you composures kid too though, Yeah,
- 43:04Speaker 1: so what would you just took Jimmy's side? So what
- 43:06Speaker 1: would it fall under for Mac? Like having I don't
- 43:09Speaker 1: think he's a great quarterback. So Paul, what would you
- 43:14Speaker 1: describe think you got him? I don't we all remember
- 43:20Speaker 1: that one? All right? Max? Mac having the discernment to
- 43:26Speaker 1: spend this offseason throwing in different elements Like what would
- 43:30Speaker 1: you put that under? Is that work ethic or yeah?
- 43:33Speaker 1: I think I suppose. I think that he wants to
- 43:36Speaker 1: be better. I think he has I think it's important.
- 43:39Speaker 1: I think he has all the traits of a quarterback,
- 43:42Speaker 1: like mentally, I think he has all of that in spades.
- 43:45Speaker 1: I think he is committed to getting better, committed to
- 43:48Speaker 1: his craft, as I like to say, Yeah, I agree.
- 43:51Speaker 1: I think that's a that's a big plus in his call.
- 43:53Speaker 1: Like I feel like you can't teach motivation like you
- 43:56Speaker 1: can't make someone be motivated to do all these things
- 44:00Speaker 1: by themselves. You can make someone throw a habachi party
- 44:03Speaker 1: with all their receivers, like that's great. Yeah, yeah. I
- 44:06Speaker 1: also don't think there's very many guys that wouldn't want
- 44:09Speaker 1: to do things like that. Like I think this is
- 44:11Speaker 1: Jay Cutler's It's like, hey, whatever, you teach someone to
- 44:17Speaker 1: go to extra mile, Like, of course, like they're going
- 44:19Speaker 1: to work out in the off season, that's there, they
- 44:21Speaker 1: have to do that. But physically going out of your way,
- 44:24Speaker 1: I feel like, to to get a nutritionist and throwing
- 44:27Speaker 1: different elements like you could just hear. And that's why
- 44:30Speaker 1: I like Mac, I mean, but in some ways it
- 44:33Speaker 1: feels like he's checking things off, you know, like like
- 44:36Speaker 1: all right, this is what a good quarterback would do,
- 44:38Speaker 1: and that's great. But as I've said before, like it's like,
- 44:42Speaker 1: can you manufacture a championship superstar just from hard work,
- 44:46Speaker 1: you know? Or is there just an element of magic
- 44:48Speaker 1: that guys have that Like no amount of hard work
- 44:51Speaker 1: by player X is ever going to get him to
- 44:53Speaker 1: be one of the greatest of all times, even if
- 44:55Speaker 1: he's doing every lot of great ones. But it does
- 44:59Speaker 1: and he's certainly good. Like I mean, we don't know
- 45:01Speaker 1: what his ceiling is yet, but I think it at
- 45:04Speaker 1: least speaks to the people he has around him, which
- 45:07Speaker 1: I think is an important tangible. Like he has good
- 45:10Speaker 1: people around him, keeping him grounded, keeping him focus, keeping
- 45:13Speaker 1: him with like good direction, and he's always had it.
- 45:15Speaker 1: Like I mean, just going back to when I interviewed
- 45:17Speaker 1: a bunch of you know, people from his youth and
- 45:19Speaker 1: growing up and stuff, like, I mean, everybody's just like
- 45:21Speaker 1: he's just you know, an outstanding kid, does everything you
- 45:24Speaker 1: ask him, really wants to be a quarterback to understand
- 45:26Speaker 1: the game. You know. It's just like you couldn't ask
- 45:28Speaker 1: for anything more than Mac, And it's really just like
- 45:30Speaker 1: it comes down to you just you got to win
- 45:32Speaker 1: games now, Like that's what it comes down to. As
- 45:35Speaker 1: much as it's great that you're taking nutrition and every
- 45:39Speaker 1: little detail that he's working on right now, that's all great,
- 45:41Speaker 1: but it has to translate or else you're just another
- 45:44Speaker 1: one of these guys that are a middle of the
- 45:45Speaker 1: road kind of quarterback that you know isn't going to
- 45:48Speaker 1: be able to win a championship or deliver, you know
- 45:51Speaker 1: in those huge moments. I mean, I think that's kind
- 45:53Speaker 1: of what it comes down to for a quarterback. Even
- 45:54Speaker 1: if you're not the greatest quarterback over twenty years, at
- 45:57Speaker 1: least you have a couple of playoff runs where when
- 46:00Speaker 1: it was all on the line, Eli Manning, you you
- 46:02Speaker 1: made the plays. Yeah, you had your warts and all that,
- 46:04Speaker 1: but you know you made those big plays and and
- 46:07Speaker 1: and that's you know, ultimately what he's going to be
- 46:09Speaker 1: defined by. So the old saying hard work beats talent
- 46:13Speaker 1: when talent doesn't work hard, do you think that applies
- 46:15Speaker 1: to quarterbacks? Um, well, I think that they're all talented,
- 46:19Speaker 1: you know, especially when you get to this point and so,
- 46:21Speaker 1: and I think they all work hard for the most part. Yeah, Like,
- 46:25Speaker 1: I just don't think there were a lot of Ja
- 46:26Speaker 1: Cutler's out there that anymore. You know, we're just giving.
- 46:32Speaker 1: They really didn't have to care. Yeah, and they just
- 46:34Speaker 1: threw it out there, you know. And I'm not saying
- 46:36Speaker 1: they were none, you know, like the people Michael vix
- 46:39Speaker 1: Um thirty for thirty is fascinating with him talking about
- 46:42Speaker 1: himself from Virginia. I know where did he go? Where
- 46:47Speaker 1: did he go to school? The Cavaliers right, Virginia Work
- 46:50Speaker 1: High School and new Er I'm from and then he
- 46:53Speaker 1: went to Virginia. Are you Fast? But him about himself
- 46:58Speaker 1: was fascinating about how little he watched film and how
- 47:02Speaker 1: how ill prepared he was, but he was so good
- 47:06Speaker 1: it didn't matter. I don't think there were a lot
- 47:08Speaker 1: of guys like that that are just so ridiculously talented
- 47:11Speaker 1: that they don't have to work as hard as their
- 47:13Speaker 1: talent to succeed. You know, like Tom Brady isn't just
- 47:19Speaker 1: gifted as a player, he's gifted as a worker too,
- 47:23Speaker 1: and his preparation and all of that. And Peyton Manning,
- 47:26Speaker 1: you know, I know Peyton Manning was the number one
- 47:28Speaker 1: pick overall and people look at him as like, well
- 47:30Speaker 1: he was just can't miss kid. But I mean, look
- 47:33Speaker 1: at it. Look look at what he did, like mentally
- 47:35Speaker 1: and off the field, Like there were guys that were
- 47:38Speaker 1: probably better physically than him, but definitely look the combination. Well, na,
- 47:45Speaker 1: na the worst. Look. Let's like uh, Lamar Jackson obviously
- 47:50Speaker 1: very talented and what he's able to do. Yeah, but
- 47:53Speaker 1: I do feel like he has worked really hard to
- 47:56Speaker 1: prove people wrong. I mean, I'm sure he has. I
- 47:58Speaker 1: think it's I think it's a great example of like
- 48:00Speaker 1: a guy who seriously has i mean just is dripping
- 48:03Speaker 1: with certain talents. But you know, again, like that's great
- 48:06Speaker 1: that you are really really really fast and you know
- 48:09Speaker 1: have that ability, but is it going to be able
- 48:12Speaker 1: to add up to quarterbacking their team to a super Bowl?
- 48:15Speaker 1: You know, that's a different argument. But I do think
- 48:17Speaker 1: that he's improved immensely as a passer since he's been
- 48:20Speaker 1: in the league that you put, I would love to see,
- 48:25Speaker 1: like I just think back to Mamar Jackson's like uh
- 48:28Speaker 1: twice the draft and just like they kept cutting the
- 48:31Speaker 1: camera back to him of like not being drafted, like
- 48:35Speaker 1: team after team after team, They're like, see, he should
- 48:37Speaker 1: have gone on his wide receiver and then now look
- 48:39Speaker 1: at him like the starting quarterback for the team. So
- 48:42Speaker 1: I'll be should just see like like you said, does
- 48:44Speaker 1: he withstand it? And he's got I mean, and I
- 48:47Speaker 1: have a lot of respect for the Ravens organization. I
- 48:48Speaker 1: mean I think that they, you know, have have surrounded
- 48:51Speaker 1: him with the pieces. I mean, I know some of
- 48:53Speaker 1: the moves have been a little bit weren't weren't his
- 48:55Speaker 1: favorites of late, but I mean, I think it's all
- 48:59Speaker 1: it's all great example. Well, all these guys are talented
- 49:01Speaker 1: and have you know, some kind of skill that just
- 49:03Speaker 1: puts them above and beyond as professional athletes. But where's
- 49:06Speaker 1: that magic sauce? You know when it's all on the line,
- 49:08Speaker 1: Like I mean, that's just always want to go back
- 49:10Speaker 1: to Tom Brady Super Bowl when it was on the line.
- 49:13Speaker 1: He got to the points every single time. You know,
- 49:15Speaker 1: whether or not the defense got to stop that dependent
- 49:17Speaker 1: on whether or not they won the game at the end.
- 49:19Speaker 1: But you know that's that's what you're looking for, is
- 49:21Speaker 1: is the guys that can execute in the big moments. Okay,
- 49:25Speaker 1: Dan cleared some things up with us, Thank you. Dan.
- 49:28Speaker 1: To explain my clunky caller name, Alex, I used to
- 49:31Speaker 1: live in Virginia and would call in as Dan in Virginia.
- 49:34Speaker 1: Then I moved to Michigan and started calling in as
- 49:36Speaker 1: Dan in Michigan, which confused Fred whoever referring to me
- 49:40Speaker 1: as Dan in Virginia. Hence I am now Dan in
- 49:43Speaker 1: Virginia in Michigan. I don't plan on any further interstate moves,
- 49:47Speaker 1: otherwise I might end up as Dan in Virginia, in Michigan,
- 49:50Speaker 1: in Pennsylvania, in Arkansas's in Yukon, in odd nasium should
- 49:54Speaker 1: just be okay. So to that point, then I am
- 49:57Speaker 1: Tamara in Virginia, in Indiana, in New York, in Colorado,
- 50:01Speaker 1: in Florida, in Boston, in Providence. Too much, too much
- 50:06Speaker 1: net love it. It's gonna be my new name. Before
- 50:11Speaker 1: we go to break. I can't let us straight too
- 50:14Speaker 1: far from the Jay Cutler talk without asking you, guys,
- 50:17Speaker 1: if you watched. I don't watch a lot of reality TV,
- 50:19Speaker 1: but I did watch his wife's show strictly for him.
- 50:22Speaker 1: Oh yeah, enough, he show his cavalary. He was to
- 50:28Speaker 1: have a show, very cavalary. Yeah, she ran like a
- 50:32Speaker 1: jewelry company or something, and it was the show was
- 50:35Speaker 1: about her running her business and like boss queen stuff.
- 50:39Speaker 1: But Jay Cutler stole the show. Oh yeah, he's so funny.
- 50:44Speaker 1: It just doesn't give a crap. And he was so
- 50:46Speaker 1: much in contrast a girl who came from Laguna Beach
- 50:49Speaker 1: and you know, and he's just this. I mean, I
- 50:52Speaker 1: don't want to call him schlubby because I mean he's
- 50:53Speaker 1: in NFL, but like kind of schlubby. Well that's what
- 50:55Speaker 1: it was. It would be like Christen's employees, these like
- 50:58Speaker 1: cute little millennial Valley girls and then parking like on
- 51:02Speaker 1: his grass and it pisses him off, and he like
- 51:05Speaker 1: comes out in like Carhart after hunting and they're like
- 51:08Speaker 1: Nashville home and just totally totally lays into these girls
- 51:13Speaker 1: and it was just great. Televill he's great, He's great.
- 51:15Speaker 1: I hate him when he played about love him now
- 51:16Speaker 1: right a booze. Yeah, that's how I feel about him too.
- 51:21Speaker 1: That sums it up. Yeah, should have known about him
- 51:24Speaker 1: coming out of Vanderbilt. He talked about how he didn't
- 51:27Speaker 1: have any help, yeah, in the pre draft process, how
- 51:30Speaker 1: little help he had, and was like you probably shouldn't
- 51:33Speaker 1: John Josh just yeah, yeah, shipped them right out different
- 51:39Speaker 1: now Raiders what he did didn't quite do the same
- 51:41Speaker 1: quite thing known. Who was the last team he even
- 51:44Speaker 1: played for? Dolphins. Oh yeah, you're right, like out of
- 51:47Speaker 1: a retirement too, beat us, which was pretty tough. And
- 51:50Speaker 1: on that note, I feel like we should all right,
- 51:54Speaker 1: We will see you guys in a minute. Patriot Place

- 1:01:37Speaker 1: I think many people believe that of the run that
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: O four is at O four team is certainly among
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: the greatest teams in franchise history. Four versus seven. What
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: would Richard Seymour say was the better team and the
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: team that won it? You know, I mean the team
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: that won it. I mean, look to this point, I
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: think you know, you give the Giants credit. They were amazing.
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: You know, every ball that bounced, it bounced their way,
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: like I mean, it went right. But they earned it,
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: like I mean, so no doubt about that. You know,
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: their defensive line which stray and humanure and tug and
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: you know everybody. I like, they played the game the
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: right way, and so we'll give him credit. The countdown
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: to Canton, Ohio is in full force. On the latest
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: episode of Haads from the Past, we visit with Pro
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: Football Hall of Fame inductee Richard Seymour. Highlights from that
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: conversation include are the Patriots defense of the early two
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: thousands finally getting the recognition it deserves. How surprised, well
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: see you when he opened the door to see a
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: gold jacket and ty law and his unique way of
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: teasing law and comparing the twenty twenty two Hall of

- 1:02:54Speaker 1: to that, Yeah, I did, thank you for asking out now.
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: They're always great to hear from from Big Sea. Gotten
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: plenty of Big Sea content over the last six months,
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: deservedly so. Also, another dugge I liked was just he
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: said the three Super Bowl against the Panthers was the
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: toughest football game he played, which I think everybody can
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: understand why he said that it was a tough game,
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: but yeah, deserved honor. Good to see him finally get
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: in there, and hopefully it's the start of many. We'll
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: get a couple of big men this summer. We'll get
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: Bill four coming in here, and then you get Seymour
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: going in there. So and definitely you want to listen
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: to that podcast, even though I'm not a part of it,
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: which was very disappointing. Yeah, because Matt was actually on assignment.
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: He was down. I think I think that took place
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: in South Carolina. I'm not sure if it was Georgia
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: with South Carolina, but Matt was down doing a lot
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: of work for in preparation of his induction next month
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: or in two months in Canton. So he had a
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: fly solo on that one. The three Super Bowl mike
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: that you bring up. It remains one of the strangest
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: games I've ever seen, Like it just it was two
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: entirely different games in the first and third quarter, and
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: then in the second and fourth quarter. It was just
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: as diametrically opposite way the break break gas scoreless after one,
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: fourteen ten, after two, scoreless from there, thirty two twenty
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: nine at the final, Like it just was an incredible
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: just back and forth Haymaker after Haymaker and the Patriots
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: through the last one just kind of shows you what
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: kind of team the Patriots were back then, Like they
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: could play. When I have a defensive struggle in the
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: first quarter, we got the defense to do it. You
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: want to put up points, we can match them and
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: you know, get the final score when we have to
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: such a such a good team. I mean, I know
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: O Force Overshigns OH three a little bit, but I
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: think O four was the better team, and I would
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: two outstanding team. Yeah. I like Seymour's answer to that
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: question when when Matt asked him, oh four seven, I
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: think old four's the answer, but not for the reason
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: that he said, Like, not just because they won it.
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: I just think it was a better team. I think
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: it had better personnel and they didn't have you know,
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: Randy Moss and Wes Welker in the you know, the
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: Madden like offense, but in a different way. It was
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: every bit as potent in offense, with Corey Dillon running
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: for sixteen hundred plush yards and Brady really coming into
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: his prime, you know, four years in as a starter,
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: and he you talked about a team that could beat
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: you anyway that they wanted. That team could beat you
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: anyway that they wanted to. Yeah, maybe I was naive
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: in my football fandom at the time, but I just
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: there was just such a confidence I had about the
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: defense and the defensive players, and like Rodney Harrison and
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: I mean in these players were obviously a few years
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: younger than than oh seven at that point, but just
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: like Bruce ki Fable, Harrison McGinnis, like, you just went
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: right down the line and you knew that you could
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: count on all those guys in all the big moments
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: going into the big games, and you had some young
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: defensive backs that were big part. You know, Eugene Wilson,
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: Sante Samuel to go with. You know, a lot people
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: forget that Law played the first half of that year.
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: They weight no with Law. You know, it wasn't like, oh,
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: they won the super Bowl without him. Yes, they actually
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: won the actual Super Bowl without him, but that was
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: a big loss and they were able to overcome it
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: with you know, some young guys back there. They patched
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: it together with the Randall gaze of the world. Troy
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: Brown played a lot of defensive back in OH four.
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: They had the great safeties with Harrison and that crew.
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: Eugene Wilson was a really good player younger when he
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: was younger, and Samuel's obviously, I mean, look with Samuel
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: ended up becoming he was a great player. Yep, yep.
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: Going back to some more emails, we got this one's
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: from Matt Hi Guys, first time emailer. If that's a thing,
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: definitely a thing. Just want to start by saying thank
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: you for the great content. I'm currently listening while while
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: writing reports for my class and listening to you guys
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: keeps me going. You're welcome. Great. Just wanted to ask
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: do you think there's a story that's happening in New
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: England's offseason and that isn't being talked about but definitely
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: should be. Or do you think this has been a
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: quiet year? If you can talk for two hours about soap,
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: then I would suggest things are pretty quiet. Thanks again
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: for the football team or generally. I just I just
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: think that that the offensive stuff is overshadowing a defense
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: that I have real concerns about. And I and I
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: think one thing that's a weird buzz thing that I
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: always felt like people were obsessed with is pass rushers.
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: We need pass rushers, why don't we And like for
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: some reason, no one's saying that this year. Like I
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: just I don't really get why that's so quiet. I
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: don't get why people aren't worried about, you know, putting
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: more pressure on the quarterback and disrupting. It used to
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: always be like, I know, we need pass rushers, and
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: people would just bound on into the ground, and now
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: it's just like who's calling the place, like you know,
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: and that's certainly an issue. Like I just feel like
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: it's overshadowing the fact though that I don't think that
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: there's a lot of definitive answers right now on the
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: defensive side of the ball, and I think that's where,
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: you know, at least personnel wise, that's where my bigger
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: questions are. That's my take, just thinking to it. Probably
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: see so you got let's see what happens, don't you?
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: Don't you speak up? Maybe you can give us some
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: more like you know, parents learns something. Yeah. No, I'm
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: just last time you spoke, you hailed the draft. No,
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: I just honestly, I just want to tell you guys
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: like Ronnie Perkins and Cameron mcgrowan, do you know really,
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: I feel like Judean is the only big name pass
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: rumore together, but who's going to step up take the
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: second yar jump. I know that's not like under the
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: radar story, but I feel like that goes for the
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: whole teams. Yeah, to answer the guy's question, I don't
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: think there are things that should be talked about more
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: that really haven't been talked about. I think it's um.
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: It's been a quiet offseason. They didn't make a lot
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: of splashes in the off season like last year with
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: all of the free agents they brought in. We had
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: that to sort of carry it. In addition to the
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: rookie quarterback. Well, now you know Mac Jones is the quarterback.
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: That's not a story. Um, the offense is an issue,
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: but there's nothing really more to talk about until you
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: see it unfold and defensively. I think you guys you
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: know hit it. I think teas with the the Yeah,
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: the guys that would be in new role or maybe
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: have have roles that haven't had roles, but they've been here.
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: We just don't know. Like I don't know what came
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: mcgron is. I don't know what Ronnie Perkins is. I
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: don't know what Josh Ucha is, Anthony Jennings, ray Kuan McMillan,
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: these guys haven't played. The only one in that group
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: that's played is Juwan Bentley. We'll see what he you know,
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: he came back. I think he's going to start in
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: one of those two inside linebackers spots. I think Mac Wilson,
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: who they got from Cleveland, will probably be in the mix.
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: I think ray Kuan McMillan will, but yeah, who knows. Wilson,
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: Bentley and McMillan are kind of a version somewhat of
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: Teddy Johnson, Bruce Key and Peiffer, Like you could kind
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: of you know, mix and match a little bit. Maybe
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: I'm passing down as you go, Wilson and McMillan, and
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: that's and that goes to everybody want to talk about
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: mcgron and I don't. I mean, I don't really see
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: him in that mix yet. I mean, he's got to
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: have a huge camp and he didn't do anything in
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: the spring. Now I don't know if that was helps
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: related or what, but he didn't do much in the spring,
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: but not really involved with the top line. But yeah,
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: we'll see I mean, and I think a lot of
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: it too. To Paul's point is you're relying on a
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: lot of guys you already know making strides. And I
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: think it goes back to ton of talking about year
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: two with the receiver's year two with Mac. It's not
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: last year we had all these flashy new pieces and
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: how's agilore and how's this all going to come together?
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: And that was such a driver and now it's like,
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: you know what you got and now the question is
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: can they be better than they were last year? I
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: think maybe offensively, it's who's going to be the running back?
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: You know, Damian Harris, how do those carriers go? Are
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: we gonna like just hand the ball a hundred times,
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: beat him up and then let him go on his way,
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: or we're gonna trade him like we do with Sony Michelle. Yeah,
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: who's going to be the next vermondre Stevenson in the preseason,
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: who's gonna see Kevin Harris? Yeah, Kevin Harris or you
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: know pure strong? They would love to see how tie
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: like see? And that's like the guy that I keep
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: forgetting about. And you name off all these players and
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: then you forget like he's kind of in the mix,
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: not only at running back but a wide receiver too,
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: So it's just another layer of depth. The guy that
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: has been around, could you know, return kicks for you
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: can do some things. But how's it all gonna shake out?
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: Who's gonna be the six, seven, eight guys that are
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: the consistent weapons in the game. I think that there's
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: probably twelve candidates right now to be in that small
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: select group. Along those same lines, Joseph just emailed in
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: a couple of questions looking to get your predictions on
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: the following categories or topics as training camp approaches. Who
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: do you see as a surprise cut in training camp?
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: A dark horse player? Who makes the roster, a late
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: acquisition to the roster, or a breakout candidate for the
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: Patriots in the twenty twenty two season. Oh boy, all right,
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: let's go alover. Surprise cut. What you got cut? Uh? Okay,
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: you're cheating. Well, I'm just looking at my visual queue,
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: my visual queue, my dead chart. Well, I think Teas
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: brought up Damian Harris. I don't think that's going to happen.
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: I think he'll be here. I think he's too cheap
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: to trade away. But I think that's a guy like
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: Sony last year, like tea set that could Jake Bailey,
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: everybody talks. Yeah, Butler, Malcolm Butler, I think could go.
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: I don't think that would be overly surprising. But now
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: maybe it's some people. I'm going to skip this surprising one.
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: My dark horse Trey Nixon to be a surprise cut, no,
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: to make the roster. Oh, he could make the roster. Yeah,
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: I don't think he will, but he could. I think
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: he'd be on the practice squad, like a surprise breakout
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: without the question. Yeah dark Well this one, the first
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: second one was a dark horse player who makes the roster. Yeah,
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: Trey Nixon could make the roster. Make the roster. Yep. Yeah,
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: if he looks continues to look the way he did, Max,
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: if you're him up a little bit, I'll give you
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: an I'll give you a real surprise cut. Okay, So
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: we kind of talked about guys that have been talked about.
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: Malcolm Butler, Jake Bailey, Damien Harris, Jacobe Myers. Like as
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: a surprise cut, he could be a surprise cut. I'd
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: be very sad. I'd be very sad too. I like him,
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: but it'd be surprising. I think you'd be a horrific move. Horrible.
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: But he's he's up to the point where it's not
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: overly cheap, you know it just I think it's like
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: three nine. And if you have Trey Nixon coming in
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: and you're trying to find a spot for him, someone's
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: gotta go. You have Mike talked about all the different guys,
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: ten or twelve guys for six or seven spots, Well,
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: someone's got to go. You can't have an offense that
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: features DeVante Parker, Jacoby Myers, Kendrick Boorn, Nelson Agaloor, Trey Nixon, Hunter,
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: Henry jon O Smith, Ty Montgomery, Damian Harris, from Andre
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: Stevenson and oh, by the way, a couple of rookie
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: running backs Kevin Harris and Peter Strong. Not everybody. You
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: can only have five guys. Yeah, throw a little Jordan
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: there too. How can you forget? Is his name really? Yes? Yes? Yeah,
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: So I just want to repeat this. I apologize to
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: the ladies who probably have not heard this frant. When
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: someone asks you for a surprise cut, the answer inevitably
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: when you give the When you give a candidate, someone
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: says you think so and so is gonna get cut,
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: and I always say no, it wouldn't be a surprise Okay,
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: So when I say Jacoby Myers, I do not believe
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: that Jacoby Myers will be cut. I think he's a
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: candidate for a surprise cut that you didn't see coming.
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: I would maybe might throw some of the defensive linemen
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: in the mix, the veteran guys, guy, gotcha. Those guys, guy,
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: I would put on that list too, because it doesn't
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: seem like they got much depth there. But those guys
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: are a little bit old and like you said, a
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: little bit expensive, and I don't know, but you can't
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: stop the run, you might as well save somebody. If
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: you're not going to stop the run? Right? Who are
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: your dark horse players? Dark horse players to make the roster?
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: So we had trade Nixon from Tom. I think that's
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: a good pick. I think he has a I think
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: he has an opportunity. I don't even know why I'm
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: saying this, but Sean Wade like he'd be like a
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: dark horse like guy of Like, do you listen to
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: Patriots fans? He's a dark horse to make the Pro Bowl? Man,
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: I don't know if I haven't seen anything. I don't
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: know how. I don't know how to Patriots anymore? What
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: am I doing? Um? Why do you let me let
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: me paraphrase the SPFWS. Why do people not think about
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: the outside corners? They have shown Sean Wade and Juwan Williams. Yeah,
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: and and to be honest, Way was playing kind of
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: more in the slot anyway, And I think that's how
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: they kind of see him coming out. So I don't
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: know how he gets in. But um, dark horse, I mean,
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: I think Trey Nixon is a good is a good
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: one just based on us. That's a that's a surprise
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: cut you think I feel like that could be a surprise.
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: I don't. I think that's just a cut. I think.
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: I mean, if they didn't put them in, couldn't get
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: the JJ White, I left James White and of guys
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: that they need. I think there's a chance that they
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: might get to a point where if they feel like
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: the rookie running backs are any good time, Montgomery really
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: looks like he's fitting in, and then they look and
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: they say, you know, maybe it's time to sort of
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: but you know, count on J. J. Taylor. But it
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: depends on light up one of these priests. Depends on
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: his hips too, you know, it depends on how he feel.
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: It's all again, happy happy, just tap tap tap it
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: in tap, It's all in the hips, propers. Okay, cut,
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: that's a good surprise cut. That's a good No, it's
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: a good surprise cut. I didn't I didn't say it.
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: I didn't say it. Do you thought it's gonna get cut?
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: You're crazy? Should I play surprising douce? Should I good one?
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: Should I learn a blog post on Japelle Peppers cut Douce?
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: That's all it needs? Just do see we know who
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: it is, we know who it is, but that their
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: head chance, you know they're one more d mac. No, No,
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: absolutely no, there's a better chance of me being cut
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: tomorrow than d mac being cut. But in the same
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: breath that Mike said that Jabrill Peppers, then I could
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: also say, like time Montgomery, sure, yeah, definitely Yeah. Malcolm Butler,
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: I think is a good surprise cut candidate too. I
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: think there's been some after the spring when he didn't
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: really do a whole lot. I think there was some rumbles,
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: But I think that's a good pick for a surprise cut.
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: I mean, not including Thornton. I would say, of the receivers,
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: the only one that I feel I mean, I would
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: still feel pretty certain that Jacobean, but but him and Borne,
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: those are only two that I feel reasonably sure that
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: they'll be here and involved in the offense otherwise, I
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: mean even Parker, right, I mean, I guess, but I
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: don't know. I could see Agglore getting moved. I could see.
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: I think they would move Aggalore if they could. I
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: think it's he's a hard guy to move because of
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: his contract. Just I mean again, I think all of
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: this just feeds into they got a bunch of those guys.
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: I mean, and not even we didn't even talk about
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: a little George as part of it. So what are
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: the other ones that we have? So we had surprise cut.
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: This is a good breakout guy. Late acquisition to the
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: roster is the third. Oh, who just stick with Trey?
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: Was Patrick mahomes hate more than like, what's the potential trade?
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: In November, you could see j I don't know, like
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: what because he would be a conditional by then didn't
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: take him when he was healthy, So you know, I
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: just want to I just want to correct you. Then
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: the Patriots were didn't turn him down. He said he
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: had no interest in playing for the Patriots. There's a difference.
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: He said, I was looking to go to a contender
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: with an established quarterback and that was But but here
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: we are month Max. I don't know what's changed since.
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: So he's been working out outside, so yes, and in
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: various conditions. He's also very much on the record talking
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: about how much he loves and respects Belichick. Right, but
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: to bring in OBJ than someone else has to go. Oh,
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: I mean multiple, I mean we're already talking multiple people
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: have to go. And so he can get to that point,
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: like and then that would answer someone else's question about
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: the wide receiver one that would be the wide receiver. Yeah,
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: he's not playing for nothing, and I don't think he
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: has any interest in playing for the paper. I think
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: he loves Belichick. To Alex's point, again, we need to
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: see it at the taste of it last year with
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: the Rams' so what it's like to be on the
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: big stage and you know, the big games, and he's
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: probably going Super Bowl MVP. Yeah, maybe let him just
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: sign a one year deal this year and then maybe
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: you get him next year because you'll have some decisions
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: to make a wide receiver next year. So that's gonna
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: be my role. He's also not playing right now. Yeah,
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: like he's got noisy no what do you don't do that?
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: Is that wrong? Is that bad? So those are the
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: two categories breakout. The last one breakout candidate for the
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: twenty twenty breakout. All right, all right, josh Ucha, I'm
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: not saying you're going to but he's the candidate. I
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: think if anybody's got to breakout, it's got to be
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: like he's at the top of the list. I'm big
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: on Ronnie Perkins, I mean, or him, like one of
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: those two. He would have been my papers McMillan. Maybe maybe, maybe,
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: I mean, I don't I haven't seen anything. I'm just defense,
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: am I mean, they need two to three guys to
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: break out. It doesn't I don't really care who it's
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: going to be. If it's Perkins or Ouche or Jennings
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: or mcgron or you know, McMillan or Mac. Like two
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: or three of those guys have to be players or
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: else they're going to be in fro a long season
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: on the side of the ball. Guys that can make
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: an impact, you know. And that's I just like, that's
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: what I feel like. At the end of the season,
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: we're gonna be like she couldn't get after the passer,
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: couldn't get about mac Jones. We have a question from
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: a mirror. Just hi, guys, Alex and Mike, Oh, I
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: guess we're not. They always mess with the guess we're
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: not here. That a shot at me. I think it's
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: a shot at you. Definitely a shot at you that's
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: usually reserved. Eric, it's the hi, that's the phrase. Obviously,
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: there's a lot of talk to middle school. Obviously there's
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: a lot of talk about second year jumps because of
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: the large number of second year players, rickies and free agents.
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: Can you give examples for a player who has had
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: a big second year leap and also a player who
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: has had a second year regression. I mean, that's that's
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: the question we've been asking in the last few weeks.
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: And I mean, I don't really have somebody who didn't
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: really look like they got it. I mean rookies maybe
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: a little bit, But I mean I'm struggling to come
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: up with something off the top of my head of
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: a guy that you know. And I think people probably
- 1:21:21Speaker 1: brain goes initially to like a receiver, a tight end,
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: somebody who wasn't all that great in the first year,
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: and then all of a sudden the next year, like
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: David Gibbons would be one. But that goes back a
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: long way. You know me, don't ask me what happened
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: three years ago. Asked me what happened twenty three years ago,
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: and I got a shot. David Gibbons did especially nothing
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: as a rookie and was a big part of the team.
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: So that would be like Trey Nixon this year. Yeah,
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: I mean, but Givens did more than Nixon last year,
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: but he was more of a special teamer and all
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: I can't really think. I know a lot of people
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: want to lump all the free agents in to this
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: second year thing. I really can't think of a guy
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: they signed who came in and it was kind of
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: a disappointment. Then all of a sudden, the next year
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: he was great. I can't. Like. The closest thing I
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: could come for that is Brandon LaFell. I was just
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: thinking about him, that would mean, but he did it
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: like three games, like, he got off to a really
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: slow start, got some mop up time in that blowout
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: in Kansas City, and then was really good the rest
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: of the year and was a big part of the playoffs. Yeah,
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: and then so even him, I don't think. And then
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: he kind of went there. But then he went there.
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: That's what I was thinking. He's kind of an example
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: of what the second part of the question was. I
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: remember coming here and watched them play the Jets in
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: twenty fifteen and he had like eight drops or something
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: crazy like that. I mean, even cook what they just
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: won one and Dune Cooks. They had Cooks for one
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: year was the seventeen and then they just shipped them.
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: That was it. So, I mean, he had a good year.
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: I don't know what was wrong with with that. Um,
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: it's easier to kind of think of those those examples.
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: I mean a daily as Thomas. Could you say he
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: was a good super Bowl his best year was his
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: first year and then he was he was downhill, you know.
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: But a lot of the other high profile guys that
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: they signed over the years never like didn't didn't even
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: hit there. I would after a super Bowl ingle number
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: one corner. Yeah he did. He had a big year
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: to jump. Yeah, you're right that that would be a
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: good one, Malcolm. But see, I told you, they don't
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: ask me what happened, like recently asked me, yeah, two
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: thousand and four. I guess I'm thinking more about free
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: agents than just guys that, oh, well, they need to
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: learn the system, they need a year under their belt,
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: and now they're going to get it. And I don't
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: like it's just guy's either got it or they did
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: the other part that I you know, people automatically whenever
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: a rookie draft pick sort of spends the year on
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: IR in some way, people immediately think that that means
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: they liked them and they kept they fought to keep
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: them around. Like and I can't really think of too
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: many rookie draft picks that spent the first year on
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: ir and then all of a sudden became key contributors.
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: I mean, I'm sure that I'm missing some, but I
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: don't really I can't think of many that would fall
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: into that. And there's a lot of draft picks that,
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: you know, the Josh Bledsoe's and Camera grown of the
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: world that spent most of the year on I I
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: don't know if Bentley would qualify me. I know it
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: didn't he get hurt, like and like he started in
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: his first game though, right, and then you don't even
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: know he got hurt. Yeah, then you know what I mean. Yeah,
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: it's it's a it's a really good question because I
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: mean it's such a key, key point. But I I
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: can't really think of anything. I can't think of I'll
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: keep thinking about that. Y're too jump, You're reres Hogan
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: like just came in just solid and was you know,
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: not real upper deficly adequate and his adequosity. I feel
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: like this time next year we could probably have an
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: answer to that. Hopefully we'll book market, we'll see I mean,
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: there's going to be opportunity for these guys, and if
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: nobody steps up, then you know, table that like the
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: table that, Yeah, I would obviously, I think we should
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: just sunset that conversation. Yes, I would have obviously love
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: to see like john Nu or Nelly have a better
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: year or two. Yeah, Johnny needs to have a big,
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: big second. Yes, yeah, but you know it's it's and
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: I wish I had face mail bag question. Well, it's
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: just like it's like that's what I found myself asking.
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: It's like, what does a big year from Jonah Smith
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: realistically look like? Like you know what I mean, like
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: what what fifty catches? Yeah, that sounds that would be
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: a career. It's a little bit high for him and
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: you know, doing more. But is he you know, but specifically,
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: how does that look? Is that? Is he a red
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: zone guy? Is he you know a lot of maybe
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: a big plays? Is a big play guy? How about
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: getting him down catching run like we saw the two
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: plays in the spring is what I'm thinking of. Yeah. See,
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: sometimes I think too much, you know, I try to
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: extrapolate too much on the nonsense that we watch in
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: shorts and T shirts, And I'm like, maybe that's how
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: they're going to try to use Jonah Smith. Remember those
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: deep crossing routes though, like twenty five thirty yards? Yeah, yeah,
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: maybe they do that with him once or twice a
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: game and he makes it, you know, a couple of
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: those kinds of plays and you're like, wow, you know,
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: I was. You know, he only had three catches, but
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: one of them went for forty yards and it's hard
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: to ask for straws. Yeah, I mean, it's hard fast
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: for more like ten touchdowns, like you know, I mean
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: it's I know that it wasn't overwhelming production overall, but
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: you know, red zone target would you needed? You know,
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: how do you how do you say, well, he's got
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: to be better, Like what do you wonder with him
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: in the red zone? See, now, he did have that
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: one good year in the red zone with Tennessee, but
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: based on what you saw last year, his lack of
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: reliability in terms of where he was supposed to be
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: in his hands clunky, great word. Maybe you don't want
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: to throw the ball to that guy in the red zone.
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: Yeah right, you don't want to all going off his
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: hands and right, all those guys in a small area.
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: It's going to get picked up how much margin forever? Yeah? Yeah, Well,
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: I mean that's the hope. And I think that feeds
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: into the concern of people about the offensive brain trust
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: and you know, do they understand how what they want
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: to do to get these guys, you know, more involved
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: to a certain degree without going crazy and feeling like,
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: all right, we need to force feed John who Smith? Now, Like,
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: I don't think that's the answer either, But it's you know,
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: about finding what the right mixes and how do you
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: experiment and find what's going to work best together? Is
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: you know, is it Parker on the outside and hey,
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: we're moving Agalore around a little more of those those
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: kind of things that I'm interested to see how much
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: they play with it, how much they keep close to
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: the vest too. Luke is sending us a message from
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: the Netherlands, long time listener, first time writing in. His
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: question would be at what front would you want mac
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: Jones to improve in the next year? Just decision making,
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: I think, you know, I mean, I think we've we've
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: got asked this before him, but you know, just the
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: pre snap, getting everything down, getting everybody on the right page,
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: getting the plays off when you know when you're going
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: quick and not you know, having to burnt timeouts, when
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: when the play clock runs down, not allowing free rushers.
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: You know, just that that that last overall everybody in order.
- 1:27:34Speaker 1: I'm not gonna I'm not gonna cut loose a protection
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: and have somebody you know, hammering me, which happened plenty
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: of times. And I think that there's all the things
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: that you said are probably all on the list. But
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: I think that last part, if there was one major criticism,
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: I think he did pretty much everything well last year
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: mental get them into good plays out of them. But
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: I do think that he had time struggled with recognizing
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: where that immediate pressure was going to come from, and
- 1:27:59Speaker 1: I think he took acts as a result of that.
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: So I'd like to see him get better at recognizing
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: that and maybe get just getting better at being able
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: to get into something off platform where they can make
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: a play. You know, let's not lose the down automatically
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: because while they dialed up with pressure and we weren't
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: prepared for it, and you know, we had to lose
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: the play. Like I would maybe some improvement in that, yeah,
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: And I would say just more like in the nebulous sense,
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: like I just I said, last year, he kind of
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: sometimes had the vibe of the sophomore on the team
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: who who got the starting job and is starting with
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: all the juniors and seniors, and you know, just to
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: have that more of a veteran presence and calmness about him.
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: I thought he did a great job last year for
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: rookie coming in, but he was still I don't have
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: a lot of last Just overall, I think it's it's
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: it's not even anything I think that he necessarily needs
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: to work on. Of course, he needs to work on
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: a lot of stuff, but it's just about having that
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: experience and that confidence now. And I think that that
- 1:28:51Speaker 1: you know, was already showing through a little bit on
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: the practice field just in terms of his control, his calmness,
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: and you know, the more of that, I think the
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: guy's feed off of that and they get confident to Oh,
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: she knows how to take the phone calls. Yeah, I
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: was just gonna say, Matt might have to help me here,
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: but maybe we'll transition to some calls here. William in Philadelphia,
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: He yep, we'll get hard William and Phillam. Hey, Paul, Hey, Hi, Um,
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: it's actually Alex that's hosting today. Alex what but this
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: is tomorrow? Though? Talking right now? I'm trying. It's so confusing,
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: but Alex is running the ship today. My question is, um,
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: I must have asked about receivers and stuff and everything
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: far that it's concerned. So I just want to flip
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: this another way around, And the question is also for
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: you tomorrow and Mike and Paul. So what if Paul,
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: what if everything is just a disaster, you know, the coaching,
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: the receivers, the I mean, did you just a ray
- 1:30:01Speaker 1: of sunship with everything? Just this is just bad, you know,
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: I mean through the whole seat and the pages. Well,
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: I like they was six to fifteen. I don't know,
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: I'm just si, what do you think they were so bad?
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: They made him play? Actually? I mean if it really
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: bottoms out, what what does it mean? Yeah? Yea, And
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: what's going to happen? What do you think will happen?
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: I think it just means Bill Belichick wants a high
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: pick and it's all going according to it. I joke,
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: I'm kidding. I think Bill. I think they would have
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: to be exceptional. I'm talking like four and thirteen for
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: Bill to be in trouble, like really like it's just
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: a mess, Like every move they made was like what
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: are they doing? Um, mac looks like he has no clue?
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: Like I think it would have to be a total
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: loser train for for them to to pull the plug.
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: But I understand the question, like what happens if it
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: doesn't work? The city burns down? Yeah? Yeah, but I
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: think it's I mean, I I just I've said it before,
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: like you had you had the post Brady Covid season,
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: it was what it was, you had the rookie quarterback.
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: We just got a bunch of free Agenciason. It's like,
- 1:31:07Speaker 1: are those seasons were what they were? But now it's
- 1:31:09Speaker 1: like we're back where we are. You can win seven
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: or eight games, nine games and like the world's not ending. Yeah,
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: but you win three or four Yeah right. I don't
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: know that's have a hard time imagining that scenario even
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: happening like that would be I just I think I
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: would be following. I mean, I just think this year
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: you're going to get so many more answers about you know,
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: these draft classes that guys that haven't you know, had
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: to do anything, Like what is Josh Uch, Anthony Jennings
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: and Ronnie Perkins, what are those second and third round
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: picks really look like? Because they've kind of been hiding
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: behind the scenes now and so you know, if those
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: guys break out and all right, well, these drafts were
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: looking a little bit different here at the end of
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: twenty twenty two than they did at the start of
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: twenty twenty two. Same token, though. If those guys all
- 1:31:53Speaker 1: stink and none of them can none of them can play,
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: and none of them can get after the quarterback, then
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: those drafts are gonna look even worse. And you know,
- 1:31:59Speaker 1: then we're really talking about things kind out. Okay, gain
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: and steam. Did you just read that a little bit,
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: a little you have a little, uh little little Thank
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: you so much, Thanks well, thank you, william Let's take
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: Scott and Wellesley. He's been waiting very patiently, you guys.
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: I'm really enjoying the show. You guys are doing a
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: terrific job. Thanks Scott whatever. I had a question for
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: Alice and questions for Paul, but I really enjoyed how
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: you guys were doing the surprise make and the surprise cuts.
- 1:32:32Speaker 1: Thank you, just to you, Mike Jon before I ask
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: you guys a question. Yeah, all right, So my surprise
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: make would be Jowan Williams, because I can't imagine he
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: would make any football team other than the USFL, so
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: I you know, I'm assuming he will be gone and
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: then another ram sunshiny Ken McCrone because I think because
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: everyone else, all the other young linebackers are so poor,
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: like Perkins, who Chay and Jennings. But people, you know,
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: this guy has even played, and people are making him
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: sound in the media like he's gonna come in and
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: you know, immediately contribute. But you know, our track riving
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: with Michigan linebackers is terrible, and you know what, there's
- 1:33:11Speaker 1: a chance to that might not be healthy and might
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: not be able to play. So it's curious about that.
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: For question Alix didn't Paul Alex, can you reast? It's
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: my understanding there will be no questions. Yeah, I think
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: that mcgron is very much a question mark. I mean,
- 1:33:28Speaker 1: he came in with a torn acl he didn't play
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: at all, and everybody somehow spent the off season. You know,
- 1:33:34Speaker 1: it's paint by number. It's it's at a fast linebacker
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: that they drafted and hasn't played right and he's a
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: fifth round pick. Like it's not like they had this,
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: you know, Like to your point, Mike, we don't know
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: about Uch Perkins, you know, Jennings, these guys were second
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: and third round picks. They have some credibility with the
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: draft status that I don't think mcgron has. We didn't
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: see much of him Scott in the spring. He didn't.
- 1:33:56Speaker 1: I don't know if he's hurt still or again. Um,
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: but we didn't see a whole lot of him with
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: regular guys in the spring. I'm not anticipating this is
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: I'm gonna go with the Fred kersh answer, like anything
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: they get out of the grown to me will be
- 1:34:10Speaker 1: gravy because I'm not expecting anything. Yeah, yeah, okay, well
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: I appreciate that. Guys. Here's my question for you. Okay, Now,
- 1:34:18Speaker 1: I was looking at the draft from twenty nineteen, which
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: I would consider to be the worst draft in Patriots history,
- 1:34:24Speaker 1: and I'm wondering, how how optimistic are you that the
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: twenty twenty two draft will be better. Um, it's interesting
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: because they brought in a lot of guys into crowded areas, right, Um, yeah,
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: they got the running backs. You got. It's like you
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: wonder they I don't know a lot of uphill battles
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: for those guys they're so I think the middle of
- 1:34:51Speaker 1: the draft could be okay, the running backs and the cornerbacks.
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: So I just had to pull out the twenty nineteen
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: draft class. Well, while you're doing that, that that kind of
- 1:34:59Speaker 1: leads question to Paul, which is, you know, along the
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: same lines in terms of twenty twenty two being a
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: bigger bust potentially than twenty nineteen. You know, Tecline Thornton, like,
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: you know, he played in a conference where there was
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: no defense played, and he had decent stats but nothing great.
- 1:35:17Speaker 1: But you looked at him and he you know, he
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: has a small hands. Okay, fine, whatever, but you look
- 1:35:22Speaker 1: at him and he just doesn't. He looks like he's
- 1:35:24Speaker 1: one crossing pattern away from being killed. So my question is, like,
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: you know, what are the chances that this guy can
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: give can give you anything? Oh yeah, well I'm sorry,
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: go ahead, guys. Special speed. Yeah, I could say I
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: would say that, I wouldn't. I'm not expecting anything from
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: him this year, but I do think when you lose
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: potentially Aghalore and Myers and you have some potential openings
- 1:35:49Speaker 1: in your receiving corps next year, he should be prepared
- 1:35:53Speaker 1: as a second round pick second year. If he's not
- 1:35:57Speaker 1: filling in one of those major roles next year, then
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: that was a bad pick. Yeah, but he has special speed. Paul, Paul,
- 1:36:04Speaker 1: you're talking about You're not exactly talking about a loaded
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: a wide receiver corps. We've seen guys come in for
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: the last five to ten years all over the league
- 1:36:12Speaker 1: and checking the third round picks and really make an impact.
- 1:36:15Speaker 1: So it doesn't this mean that you're kind of negative
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: on him already? Yeah. I didn't like to pick. I
- 1:36:20Speaker 1: thought he was picked too early, and I like some
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: of the wide receivers that were picked around him. Yeah,
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: he wasn't on my big boards, he wasn't on Mike's
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: big boards. So that's tells you that right off the go.
- 1:36:28Speaker 1: But Matisse had him as a late as a late
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: round pick. Yeah, I mean, I think you summed it up,
- 1:36:35Speaker 1: though I don't. I don't mean I don't think any
- 1:36:36Speaker 1: of us were like, wow, that's a slam dunk. I
- 1:36:39Speaker 1: mean it felt a little bit like you needed to
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: get faster. You took a fast guy. But does it
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: necessarily seem like you're kind of guy that's been successful here?
- 1:36:46Speaker 1: Not not particularly so. Al It's getting back to my
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: question to you, do you think the twenty twenty two
- 1:36:53Speaker 1: draft will be worse than the historically bad twenty nineteen draft.
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: I don't think it gets much worse than that. Well,
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: twenty seventeen is pretty yeah, but you could almost say
- 1:37:03Speaker 1: that this this year's draft was bad. Well. I mean
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: I think though that what this draft class has going
- 1:37:07Speaker 1: for it is you probably have a guy who's the
- 1:37:09Speaker 1: least be your starter for five years at left guard.
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: So I mean, at the very minimum, you got a
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: guy okay, okay, but from the twenty nineteen draft, Damien Harris, Yeah,
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: you like five running right in the third round as
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: you running back, you probably could have gotten the sixth
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: round right, And he's also probably going to be gone
- 1:37:26Speaker 1: next year? Right? Sorry did you call him? Hoping to
- 1:37:30Speaker 1: feel better? There's a there's a ray of sunshine, Scott,
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: don't be a stranger. Thanks Scott. Little negativity here a
- 1:37:40Speaker 1: little bit later in the show, a little bit, but
- 1:37:42Speaker 1: I mean I think William William and Philham, who is
- 1:37:44Speaker 1: just usually just looking for wide receivers, really stepped it
- 1:37:47Speaker 1: up today by just wondering what it would take to
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: fire Bill bellijast. Okay. So also Jake Bailey was in
- 1:37:53Speaker 1: that class, another one who could be gone in our punter.
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: I mean, I think this draft class, yeah, like Cole Strange,
- 1:38:01Speaker 1: he is what it is. We'll see how how good
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: he is. I mean, of course, if he's great all
- 1:38:06Speaker 1: pro guard, then that's a nice little bonus. But I
- 1:38:09Speaker 1: really kind of feel like this class will be defined
- 1:38:11Speaker 1: by those two running backs a little bit. And how
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: do those guys fit in, you know, with Damien Harris,
- 1:38:16Speaker 1: the situation with James White coming to the end, you know,
- 1:38:18Speaker 1: are those two guys going to be able to compliment
- 1:38:20Speaker 1: Stevenson and give you a good core for the next
- 1:38:23Speaker 1: three four years? But I mean outside of that, how
- 1:38:25Speaker 1: do you how do you really define the class? You know?
- 1:38:27Speaker 1: I mean maybe if one of these other offensive linemen
- 1:38:30Speaker 1: that we haven't even seen yet. I mean I saw
- 1:38:31Speaker 1: Reese post to that in his notes this weekend of
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: like Stubor is nowhere to be found. Haven't been around Stupor?
- 1:38:38Speaker 1: Thanks for asking asking Jones Marcus Jones though, Yeah, yeah,
- 1:38:41Speaker 1: that's a good point. Sorry, sorry I forgot about them.
- 1:38:43Speaker 1: Um yeah, so you know, but but again, like two
- 1:38:45Speaker 1: years that those guys played before, they're on the physical
- 1:38:47Speaker 1: and able to perform and right, and so I am
- 1:38:52Speaker 1: high on Marcus Jones. I am. I hope he he's
- 1:38:55Speaker 1: able to give them a dynamic kind of punt return
- 1:38:58Speaker 1: element to their game. But but how do they tribute
- 1:39:00Speaker 1: as as cornerbacks? Where do they fit in as cornerbacks?
- 1:39:03Speaker 1: Are they slot cornerbacks? Ken Jack Jones really playing the
- 1:39:05Speaker 1: outside in the NFL? Like but if you can get
- 1:39:07Speaker 1: the two running backs in the two cornerbacks to be players,
- 1:39:11Speaker 1: that's I mean, I think that's that's solid right there,
- 1:39:13Speaker 1: because I think bare minimum Strange is gonna play. I'm
- 1:39:17Speaker 1: not right, listen, I'm not an All twenty two guy.
- 1:39:20Speaker 1: I'm not going to break down what the left guard did?
- 1:39:23Speaker 1: You know? I know Logan Nkets was really good. I
- 1:39:25Speaker 1: know there were other guys that were just so so,
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: like Joe Andrewsie was just solid. He was I couldn't
- 1:39:30Speaker 1: tell you the subtle differences between the two. I know
- 1:39:33Speaker 1: Strange is gonna play, but you know what I would
- 1:39:35Speaker 1: have told you when he's gonna play last year and
- 1:39:37Speaker 1: he wasn't good enough to stay in the lineup, So
- 1:39:39Speaker 1: who knows? You don't say any as the t J though, right, No,
- 1:39:42Speaker 1: he's the same. Centers are very important. I make fun
- 1:39:46Speaker 1: of him for being single day it was good snap,
- 1:39:50Speaker 1: good snaps support kids. No, no, I only have one
- 1:39:54Speaker 1: offensive line we like him. We like him. Yeah, t
- 1:40:00Speaker 1: is my favorite. He knows that what are you gonna do?
- 1:40:04Speaker 1: As a former hot high school tackle, he's a dorky lineman.
- 1:40:06Speaker 1: I mean, it is what it is. That's what we do.
- 1:40:08Speaker 1: That's what we do. The fat kids who can't run
- 1:40:10Speaker 1: go stand along the line blocking people. Not fun. It's
- 1:40:14Speaker 1: not fun. It's not football. It's fighting a guy, like,
- 1:40:17Speaker 1: just fight, fight, fight, going to the huddle. This is
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: what we're doing. I'm like, I don't know what I
- 1:40:22Speaker 1: encouraged the Okay, he played tackle for a couple of years,
- 1:40:25Speaker 1: and I encourage my good would think about playing center
- 1:40:28Speaker 1: because I just feel like, you know, you get to
- 1:40:30Speaker 1: touch the ball at least, you like you can feel
- 1:40:32Speaker 1: every play, like you know, it's almost all out of
- 1:40:36Speaker 1: the shotguns, so there's some pressure. It's almost like he's
- 1:40:39Speaker 1: throwing past his techniccase. He completed every past You got
- 1:40:45Speaker 1: the preseason stands seventeen for seventeen. You try watching your
- 1:40:52Speaker 1: kid play when he's playing the interior offensive line. I do.
- 1:40:55Speaker 1: I don't know why. I was watching the ball like
- 1:40:59Speaker 1: everybody else. Well, it would be tough too though, when
- 1:41:01Speaker 1: he's going Costa had to break a huge, giant dude,
- 1:41:04Speaker 1: that's gonna just kick the crap out of your kid
- 1:41:05Speaker 1: for the next like two. You know, great, we're going
- 1:41:07Speaker 1: against the all state defensive tackle and that's what I
- 1:41:09Speaker 1: watched for. You know, in all seriousnesses, I would check out,
- 1:41:12Speaker 1: you know, the defensive line and I'd be looking. I'm like, oh,
- 1:41:15Speaker 1: he's gonna have his hands for that kid looks pretty big,
- 1:41:17Speaker 1: and then you know the game would unfold and be fine. Technique.
- 1:41:21Speaker 1: You know he's got it. Um, he doesn't. He doesn't
- 1:41:28Speaker 1: wear gloves, but um, he's a little worried about it.
- 1:41:31Speaker 1: Early in the year when his hands are Edelman only
- 1:41:33Speaker 1: gave him gloves for his older son. His younger son
- 1:41:35Speaker 1: didn't getting Hugh, that's true. Edelman gave Will a couple
- 1:41:40Speaker 1: of pair of the cutter gloves, and um, you know
- 1:41:43Speaker 1: I didn't ask any of the offensive linemen take these.
- 1:41:55Speaker 1: David Andrews knee brases. TJ put them on so exciting.
- 1:41:59Speaker 1: Why was everybody asking me why my father TJ is
- 1:42:06Speaker 1: so rock solid? It's it's he's going to be a
- 1:42:09Speaker 1: captain of that team. Yeah, if not next year, then
- 1:42:12Speaker 1: definitely his senior intangibles every team that TJ has ever been. Clearly,
- 1:42:19Speaker 1: every team that TJ has ever been on has been
- 1:42:21Speaker 1: better because he's on it. How's that for compliments? Father?
- 1:42:24Speaker 1: That's great. That's a good quote, good longer clue guy.
- 1:42:26Speaker 1: He's a glue guy. He just digs winning. Some of
- 1:42:30Speaker 1: my favorite moments of watching his him play football or
- 1:42:35Speaker 1: on touchdowns when I see him running down the field
- 1:42:38Speaker 1: and it's almost like you said, everybody, I sprung him,
- 1:42:42Speaker 1: I made the block. I made that happen. Yeah, I
- 1:42:45Speaker 1: would have done that. I never sprung anybody or made
- 1:42:47Speaker 1: any blocks or had any I don't think we had
- 1:42:49Speaker 1: a single touchdown that was maybe more than five yards
- 1:42:51Speaker 1: the whole year. But no one, No one digs winning
- 1:42:54Speaker 1: like TJ. Yeah. Ramone in Tampa wants to know if
- 1:42:58Speaker 1: someone you drafted in the last four years turned out
- 1:43:00Speaker 1: to be an All Pro, who would you want it
- 1:43:02Speaker 1: to be. I'm going to say Mac Jones. Yeah, that
- 1:43:05Speaker 1: would be wonderful. Well, I think we're done here, Okay,
- 1:43:09Speaker 1: gunneral Chevsky, I got my wish. Barmore, I would imagine
- 1:43:15Speaker 1: like Barmore Defensive Player of the Year, Like, could we
- 1:43:18Speaker 1: get that code? Could I put that in and out
- 1:43:20Speaker 1: in space? Yeah? I love I remember last year Barmore saying,
- 1:43:23Speaker 1: like I forget what the context was, but I think
- 1:43:26Speaker 1: we're talking about like getting the quarterback. He's like, he
- 1:43:28Speaker 1: will feel my pain, Like I love that. He must
- 1:43:32Speaker 1: feel my pain like Barmore, Kyle Dugger get it? Yeah?
- 1:43:36Speaker 1: I mean is that h's that like an Ed Reid situation?
- 1:43:40Speaker 1: Could he be? You know? Is that like that's what
- 1:43:43Speaker 1: it would have to be? Right? Ye? Are we now
- 1:43:45Speaker 1: doing the non mac Jones version. Yeah, but the one
- 1:43:48Speaker 1: B answer, Yeah, the one beat. My one B is Barmore. See. Now,
- 1:43:54Speaker 1: for Barmore to be a Pro Bowls that kind of
- 1:43:56Speaker 1: like this because he would have to sort of emerge
- 1:43:59Speaker 1: into more than just a run, like a run every
- 1:44:02Speaker 1: down and he had like at least ten sacks. Now, yeah,
- 1:44:04Speaker 1: now he's becoming one of those dangerous guys. If he's
- 1:44:07Speaker 1: a Pro Bowl gonna feel his pain. I love it.
- 1:44:10Speaker 1: I'm gonna use that all year. I'm gonna find that quote,
- 1:44:14Speaker 1: They're gonna feel my pain addiction? What the hell happened?
- 1:44:20Speaker 1: I just went to get a PEPSI the whole show.
- 1:44:22Speaker 1: It fell apart, Paul, where you're out of the room.
- 1:44:24Speaker 1: It's not the first time that's happened. Well, let's bring
- 1:44:26Speaker 1: it back because we have a pretty fun one spe
- 1:44:29Speaker 1: spe and fresno for each of you. What's an unusual
- 1:44:33Speaker 1: quirk neuros as you have? Looking for something an agolus
- 1:44:36Speaker 1: to Paul's issue with street grates. Oh, that is true.
- 1:44:39Speaker 1: I witnessed that one first time. Well, you just don't
- 1:44:42Speaker 1: walk over them, or you wait them? What did you
- 1:44:44Speaker 1: drop keys or a cell phone in their ones and
- 1:44:46Speaker 1: have PTSD? No, we saw a body drop in there.
- 1:44:50Speaker 1: Wait what. I won't walk over a street grate unless,
- 1:44:54Speaker 1: like we're talking, I have to go into the street
- 1:44:57Speaker 1: to do it, to get around it. Won't walk over it.
- 1:45:01Speaker 1: I don't like it. He like grabs on you. I
- 1:45:03Speaker 1: don't grab. Do you think of like the movie? Like it?
- 1:45:07Speaker 1: Like the clown's gonna come out of it? Now fall
- 1:45:09Speaker 1: to my death a random street corner. Did you ever
- 1:45:13Speaker 1: hear of a story of a street great falling in? Sure? Yeah? Right, happens.
- 1:45:17Speaker 1: Never happened with me. What about like anyone person in
- 1:45:21Speaker 1: your life that would make you have the sphere? No? No,
- 1:45:24Speaker 1: well that's why it's irrational, right, yeah, yeah, it's a rap.
- 1:45:27Speaker 1: There's not like growing up my my you know, my
- 1:45:30Speaker 1: friends felt probably could have titled this, you know, other
- 1:45:34Speaker 1: than Paul, who has a litany of these. That's what
- 1:45:38Speaker 1: he wanted. He wanted us to add to yours. I
- 1:45:42Speaker 1: have a lot of stupid, I'm not very right, general
- 1:45:47Speaker 1: lot of strong. You're not good, You're not good. I
- 1:45:52Speaker 1: don't really have any do you guys have any? I don't.
- 1:45:54Speaker 1: I don't think I do. I don't think I have
- 1:45:55Speaker 1: any weird work. I feel like I'm willing to share
- 1:45:59Speaker 1: with the general public. I will say, and this is
- 1:46:03Speaker 1: probably counts as close to Paul's. But I was getting
- 1:46:07Speaker 1: gas one day and like I had started the pump
- 1:46:10Speaker 1: and then got back in my car. Some stranger came
- 1:46:12Speaker 1: up to my window and was like, hey, you really
- 1:46:14Speaker 1: shouldn't do that anymore, Like you know that by doing
- 1:46:17Speaker 1: that and getting back in the car, like you could
- 1:46:18Speaker 1: start a fire, oh while you were pumping. Yeah, so
- 1:46:22Speaker 1: pumping and then getting that person because because he said that,
- 1:46:28Speaker 1: now I will stay outside and not get back in
- 1:46:31Speaker 1: my car, something about I've never heard that. Yeah, he
- 1:46:34Speaker 1: like came out my window and knocked, So it can
- 1:46:38Speaker 1: really happen. So it's on all the labels at the
- 1:46:40Speaker 1: gas pumps. Now, be careful of static electricity. How can
- 1:46:44Speaker 1: you do that? How do you be careful of static?
- 1:46:47Speaker 1: I got a weird one. I don't like the underside
- 1:46:49Speaker 1: of boats, he said, quirky. So it's good. I'm on
- 1:46:53Speaker 1: my friend. I'm on my friend's boat and Martha's vineyard,
- 1:46:55Speaker 1: and we like dock it and like I jump if
- 1:46:57Speaker 1: I jump off the boat, I like can't look at
- 1:46:59Speaker 1: the underside of it, like what specifically? It just creas me.
- 1:47:02Speaker 1: I think it's like from seeing Titanic or Poseidon, just
- 1:47:05Speaker 1: like when it goes upside down. That's the allergy. That's
- 1:47:07Speaker 1: not even like the propeller. Oh no, that freaks me
- 1:47:10Speaker 1: out too. I just don't know that. Yeah, I think
- 1:47:14Speaker 1: mine is. I have a thing with loose change, like
- 1:47:18Speaker 1: in coins and money. If you put change on my
- 1:47:22Speaker 1: kitchen counters, like I have a little piggy Like people
- 1:47:25Speaker 1: love doing that, just emptying their loose change out of
- 1:47:28Speaker 1: their pockets onto counters. And I have a little glass
- 1:47:31Speaker 1: jar specifically for that, because I like my counters to
- 1:47:33Speaker 1: be clean and immaculate and very sterile. And when you
- 1:47:36Speaker 1: bring money and change and put it on my counters,
- 1:47:39Speaker 1: I lose my mind. I have to instantly sanitize it.
- 1:47:42Speaker 1: It's all I can think about. So now, Alex should
- 1:47:45Speaker 1: have been here for our soap and shower conversation clearly
- 1:47:49Speaker 1: because you'd be very alarmed for what we're talking about
- 1:47:52Speaker 1: last week. Don't bring it back up. I feel like
- 1:47:55Speaker 1: your house is spotless. I like it to be. I
- 1:47:59Speaker 1: like it to be. I would say I'm the same.
- 1:48:02Speaker 1: I think I'm very OCD. I have some OCD. I mean,
- 1:48:05Speaker 1: like I when I when I load the dishwasher, like
- 1:48:08Speaker 1: the small force go together. They see people like Beth
- 1:48:15Speaker 1: I think just likes to torture me, and she just
- 1:48:17Speaker 1: throws them in knowing that I'm gonna go back. Yeah,
- 1:48:21Speaker 1: I definitely just throw them in. Like well, that's like
- 1:48:24Speaker 1: I hope my wife isn't listening right now because we're
- 1:48:26Speaker 1: getting in a a territory. Um. No, I'm in the same way,
- 1:48:28Speaker 1: like I like to like put the force together, like
- 1:48:30Speaker 1: and then when when I put things away, I organize them.
- 1:48:33Speaker 1: When you put it away, you grab, yeah, grab boom
- 1:48:37Speaker 1: instead of like I don't have to say knife fork, spoon,
- 1:48:40Speaker 1: big knife, steak knife over there. So, Mike, because you're
- 1:48:44Speaker 1: a TikToker, have you seen the TikTok where it's like
- 1:48:47Speaker 1: the hamper and it's like where the clothes should go
- 1:48:50Speaker 1: where my husband puts the clothes, like right in front
- 1:48:53Speaker 1: of the hamper. Appreciate that? No, yeah, yeah, yeah, yes
- 1:48:57Speaker 1: I do. So the hamper is right there, and you
- 1:49:00Speaker 1: don't put it in the hamper. You put it on
- 1:49:01Speaker 1: the floor. Well sometimes, but the hamper that's in there
- 1:49:03Speaker 1: is technically the kids hamper, and our hamper is in
- 1:49:05Speaker 1: our room. So I save things for the hamper in
- 1:49:07Speaker 1: our room. Does that make sense? Yeah? He has a no.
- 1:49:12Speaker 1: Hang up. Do you have like a chair in your
- 1:49:15Speaker 1: room that all the clothes just inevitably ends up on,
- 1:49:18Speaker 1: just kind of like you wore it or you tried
- 1:49:20Speaker 1: it on. But it's not a little bit chair A
- 1:49:23Speaker 1: little bit a little bit a little bit yeah, in
- 1:49:25Speaker 1: the in the closet. You know, we don't really have
- 1:49:28Speaker 1: a chair, but Beth has that mentality. I just wore this,
- 1:49:31Speaker 1: I'm just gonna put it here on the Yeah, why
- 1:49:33Speaker 1: could you just put it away? I just have a
- 1:49:35Speaker 1: stupid dry cleaning bag that has been building for about
- 1:49:38Speaker 1: four or five months now, and I just can't seem
- 1:49:41Speaker 1: to bring myself. Maybe that's my quirk is like putting
- 1:49:43Speaker 1: off going to the dry I brought all my all
- 1:49:45Speaker 1: my shirts and stuff home to be dry cleaned. Yeah, twice,
- 1:49:49Speaker 1: So I got What do you say when you go
- 1:49:51Speaker 1: to the dry cleaner? What do you get? What do
- 1:49:52Speaker 1: you ask for? What's the service? Do you say? Dry
- 1:49:54Speaker 1: clean these? Yeah? Because it's all I'm still confused by
- 1:49:57Speaker 1: the dry cleaner light star. I never you never dip
- 1:50:02Speaker 1: into the starch territory about like nineteen seventy eight. But
- 1:50:07Speaker 1: but sometimes they'll they'll want they can wash them, but
- 1:50:09Speaker 1: not dry clean them right, like they wash some stuff
- 1:50:11Speaker 1: like only certain things need to be dry cleaned, right,
- 1:50:13Speaker 1: and neil dry clean what needs to be dry clean?
- 1:50:15Speaker 1: You don't have to specify. I can bring all your
- 1:50:17Speaker 1: clothes to be dry clean. No, just you, you know,
- 1:50:19Speaker 1: your suit pants and your nice shirts, your suits, your jackets,
- 1:50:22Speaker 1: your shirt you know dress shirts. Have you taken your
- 1:50:24Speaker 1: clothes to like one of those wash and fold places. No.
- 1:50:27Speaker 1: Beth used to do that when she lived in the
- 1:50:29Speaker 1: city though, life changing like they did it for you. Yes,
- 1:50:32Speaker 1: I did it in New York when I would dropped
- 1:50:34Speaker 1: off in the morning before work and pick it up afterwards. Yeah,
- 1:50:36Speaker 1: she says, it's phenomenal. It's crazy, Like your clothes have
- 1:50:40Speaker 1: like not one tiny wrinkle in it. It's like everything
- 1:50:44Speaker 1: is like perfectly pressed and folded. It's crazy. I would
- 1:50:47Speaker 1: love that. It's crazy and you gotta put it away, yes,
- 1:50:50Speaker 1: but I mean at least you beat like the washing, drying,
- 1:50:53Speaker 1: folding part and you're just putting it away, or you
- 1:50:55Speaker 1: can just put it on your clean clothes chair and
- 1:50:57Speaker 1: just admire it. The pile is a clean clothes Alex.
- 1:51:03Speaker 1: Are you someone who has like lots of open water
- 1:51:06Speaker 1: bottles in your house? Oh, any water bottle that like
- 1:51:10Speaker 1: has a little bit left in goes it's plant food.
- 1:51:13Speaker 1: Okay there, Oh that's good. Yeah, just right to the plants. Yeah.
- 1:51:17Speaker 1: I like that. Some people end up with like five
- 1:51:21Speaker 1: on their nightstand, five downstairs on the kitchen table, just
- 1:51:25Speaker 1: three in their car, three at their desks everywhere. Yeah.
- 1:51:28Speaker 1: I think I just grew up with so many like
- 1:51:30Speaker 1: siblings and people running around the house that it was
- 1:51:33Speaker 1: just like how many. I'm one of four? And then
- 1:51:38Speaker 1: I have an older stepsister too that like didn't wasn't
- 1:51:40Speaker 1: raised in our house, And what are the what do
- 1:51:42Speaker 1: you got? They're all younger? My oldest. I'm the oldest
- 1:51:45Speaker 1: of four. My brother and sister, Nate and Danielle are twins.
- 1:51:49Speaker 1: They're a year and a half younger than me. And
- 1:51:51Speaker 1: then Juliana is the baby. She's twenty whoa and the the
- 1:51:55Speaker 1: dogs just don't care. I'm only child's only child. Syndrome
- 1:52:07Speaker 1: is real. It is. My friends yelped me for it's
- 1:52:09Speaker 1: very don't really seem I know a handful and you're
- 1:52:14Speaker 1: the least only child, stereotypical and argue that I would
- 1:52:19Speaker 1: never I invite that, but I would never like pick
- 1:52:22Speaker 1: you for that. No, I mean it's life. Yeah, I
- 1:52:26Speaker 1: can usually you're weird and centers. Oh my gosh. All right,
- 1:52:31Speaker 1: let's do one last email before you wrap things up.
- 1:52:34Speaker 1: Here Ray from Saint Louis. Hello, family, I'm going to
- 1:52:38Speaker 1: my first Patriots game this year. It will be the
- 1:52:40Speaker 1: first game of the season versus Miami. Let's go. I
- 1:52:42Speaker 1: have a few questions. What are some cool activities you
- 1:52:45Speaker 1: all have got into wild down there in Miami. I've
- 1:52:49Speaker 1: ever been down there? Well, it's in Miami, yes, would also,
- 1:52:54Speaker 1: how would you describe their stadium hot? I've never been.
- 1:52:59Speaker 1: I don't know the time I'm in the game, yet
- 1:53:02Speaker 1: it's not a bad not a bad stadium. It's a
- 1:53:04Speaker 1: little old at this point, but it's not a bad place.
- 1:53:07Speaker 1: They yeah, they have, they're another one. They've chosen to
- 1:53:11Speaker 1: renovate UM rather than rebuild. Well, rebuilding would also punish
- 1:53:19Speaker 1: University of Miami as well because they use that stadium,
- 1:53:21Speaker 1: so that would be wild. Yes, UM, but I would
- 1:53:27Speaker 1: say Winwood UM as a former Miami in Winwood is amazing.
- 1:53:32Speaker 1: Winwood is like lots of like art. UM. There's a
- 1:53:36Speaker 1: lot of great restaurants. They're bars if you're open to that.
- 1:53:40Speaker 1: But it's a good area. UM. I would recommend that
- 1:53:42Speaker 1: do not go to South don't go to South Road
- 1:53:44Speaker 1: away from South Beach as best. And if God forbid
- 1:53:47Speaker 1: you have to go to South Beach, do not eat
- 1:53:49Speaker 1: at a restaurant on Ocean Avenue. Yeah at all, just
- 1:53:52Speaker 1: don't do it. Don't do it. I recommend Winwood for eating. UM,
- 1:53:56Speaker 1: look up the like local beaches. Don't go to South
- 1:54:00Speaker 1: Beach like, there's no need. You can go to other beaches,
- 1:54:02Speaker 1: lived there and never drive up. If you don't go
- 1:54:07Speaker 1: to Wharf, don't go to live But if you're a tourist,
- 1:54:10Speaker 1: you just want to go and you want to really
- 1:54:12Speaker 1: see it and see the scene, google it and look
- 1:54:16Speaker 1: at the scene eleven. Oh my gosh, I do remember.
- 1:54:20Speaker 1: And oh god, I forget what year. It was probably
- 1:54:23Speaker 1: like oh fourish, and we were it was one of
- 1:54:27Speaker 1: those that we went for a while. We were there
- 1:54:28Speaker 1: like Friday, maybe Thursday or Friday, and Brian Moore who
- 1:54:33Speaker 1: used to work with us, Um and I were just
- 1:54:36Speaker 1: sitting by the pool at the hotel and William mc
- 1:54:38Speaker 1: ginnis walks up to us and just like starts ripping us.
- 1:54:43Speaker 1: You two was sitting at the at the hotel rather
- 1:54:47Speaker 1: than going out, go to South Beach, go to the strip,
- 1:54:50Speaker 1: go do something, Go to Fort Law, go somewhere, get
- 1:54:53Speaker 1: out of here. I don't want to see you guys.
- 1:54:54Speaker 1: In twenty minutes, I don't want to see you. We
- 1:54:58Speaker 1: drank one hundred ten beers each and we're not seen
- 1:55:02Speaker 1: until like the next afternoon. I don't even remember where
- 1:55:05Speaker 1: we went, but it was a good trip. There were
- 1:55:07Speaker 1: a lot of Patriots fans there for the game, obviously,
- 1:55:10Speaker 1: and it was just one huge Boston Fest or something
- 1:55:15Speaker 1: for I would also recommend um if I don't know
- 1:55:20Speaker 1: if you're driving or flying, but one fly into Fort Lauderdale,
- 1:55:24Speaker 1: not Miami. The stadium is much closer to that airport
- 1:55:28Speaker 1: and I needn't have to deal with like taking the train. Yes,
- 1:55:31Speaker 1: miamis like Florida girls. I would say, Florida girls, if
- 1:55:36Speaker 1: they stay in South Beach, that uber to hard Rock
- 1:55:40Speaker 1: Stadium is going to be one hundred dollars. So I
- 1:55:41Speaker 1: would suggest staying somewhere closer to Miami gardens Fort Lauderdale,
- 1:55:45Speaker 1: closer to the stadium versus more family fun probably for
- 1:55:49Speaker 1: you and the Fort Lauderdale side of things. But I mean,
- 1:55:53Speaker 1: I just think if you're not driving and you have
- 1:55:54Speaker 1: to uber everywhere, it's gonna be so expensive in a
- 1:55:56Speaker 1: lot of traffic, it's too much. So stay closer to
- 1:55:59Speaker 1: the stadium. Well there you go. Let us know, keep
- 1:56:01Speaker 1: your doors locked. Miami's crazy. Like Miami's different now. Really,
- 1:56:06Speaker 1: I was living down there for like six months this
- 1:56:09Speaker 1: time around this time last year, and I don't know,
- 1:56:12Speaker 1: it was just a crime, was kind of I don't
- 1:56:15Speaker 1: think I could live in Florida. I think I could
- 1:56:17Speaker 1: do three weeks in Miami and over Miami. I couldn't,
- 1:56:20Speaker 1: but I could definitely live in Boca. I could definitely
- 1:56:22Speaker 1: live in West Palm. I could move back to Miami tomorrow.
- 1:56:25Speaker 1: Yeah today, today you just moved to Providence, especially like
- 1:56:31Speaker 1: Brickle and Wynwood, Like, yes, I could live that life.
- 1:56:33Speaker 1: I really definitely my favorite place that I've lived this far.
- 1:56:37Speaker 1: Tamara by Way of Virginia, Indiana, New York, Colorado, Florida, Boston, Providence,
- 1:56:43Speaker 1: Paul by Way of Boston, Boston. Everyt that's it? All right? Well,
- 1:56:52Speaker 1: I feel like that's all we offer you guys today.
- 1:56:54Speaker 1: It's like perfect Fred eddin a little early, you know,
- 1:56:56Speaker 1: I just gotta mean yeah, no, I got I got
- 1:56:58Speaker 1: real work to do. Oh wow, I mean have some
- 1:57:02Speaker 1: stories to right ended four minutes earlier, all those evergreen
- 1:57:08Speaker 1: stories that you save up for this time a year
- 1:57:10Speaker 1: to finally write. Okay, all right. I love the background
- 1:57:14Speaker 1: music that's like playing, like playing you off the stage. Yet.
- 1:57:18Speaker 1: I want to thank my wife. I love you, honey,
- 1:57:20Speaker 1: I'll see you soon. Thank you. And Mike promises not
- 1:57:23Speaker 1: to uh put his laundry on the floor. He's going
- 1:57:26Speaker 1: to actually put it in the hamper and put the
- 1:57:29Speaker 1: dishes correctly in the dishwasher. What else? Anything else? Maybe
- 1:57:35Speaker 1: some more soap talk next week? I heard Fred has
- 1:57:37Speaker 1: an update. Oh, I hope not. No updates. He might
- 1:57:41Speaker 1: actually come back from vacation with some updates on We
- 1:57:44Speaker 1: should get him to call in. Doesn't know where he went. Yeah,
- 1:57:48Speaker 1: see you guys Thursday. Bye audios. Thank you for downloading
