What what what are we what are we thinking about last weekend? I I mean Darksideday: Yeah. Thank you very much. Just about, with Alex Albrim. f1capper: my god, see, you know obviously I didn't get that hot alert and I think w it was like at five in the morning my time. So by the time I got up, I like seeing all the the pings like hot alert, hot alert. and if you're Darksideday: And this is one I actually got on time. I was like, there it was. Quick, f1capper: Man, I was feeling for you guys because I I was not paying attention to it because I didn't have any skin in the game, but then I was like looking down and I was like, my God, science is catching up. And then I go back in the chat very quickly because I wasn't around for that most part of in the chat. And then I go back in and I'm like seeing everyone like, my God, if this guy beats him like going crazy you guys were just crashing out before it even happened. And I was like, God, thank God I'm not I Darksideday: And you know what, because in the FP's, you're he's doing all right this weekend. It'd be easy, no worries, no worries, don't worry about it. And then Sainz got his wing done, his wing in, got it changed, easy, easy. You think then, easy then. He's got a 10 second gap at least. But I was looking, doing the data stuff today. He was at half a second faster per lap in the race, Sainz. So that was very, very lucky that one. f1capper: Yeah. Okay. Yeah. I mean he if there was i if I I don't know at what point in the race, but definitely if there was like w I would say five more laps, he would have been passed. I think so. But yeah. Yeah. Darksideday: Yeah, I think even two more or three more. Were you on the piastry at all? f1capper: I was, so I I didn't realize this until after I mean I knew I'd I did something because I had the piastri top six already. but I actually forgot that I had put piastri over Hajar and I chalked it. And I was like, I'm not giving that out to anyone. That's just like, let me have fun with this, you know. And I I think it was like minus two thirty or f something like that. Let's just put put it around there. And I was like, yeah, I'm gonna take this. And then completely forgot that I had that because I didn't put it in my card or anything. And then I came back and I was like, I want s Jesus. Like I was like, what the f Darksideday: That was very fortunate, that VSC. He was finishing like eighth if that VSC hadn't come up. f1capper: The VSC thing was very interesting. I d I don't think I've ever seen anything like that, man. I get it. Like I understand what they were trying to do. Cause it is spa, it's a long track, and you know, might as well try to get them to clear it out, don't have the safety cars. But I think there's something interesting to think about for next year is VSCS, because it For the most part it was just gravel that they were putting the VSC for, right? Or was it something else? Yeah. maybe not even just spa, but like think about like what other tracks do we have? Like is it Monza? What is what what are the tracks where it's like got those kind of those corners with the gravel and if it gets up onto the you know, like do they need to clean up Darksideday: Yeah. I'm sure they've added gravel to a load of tracks, haven't they? f1capper: Yeah, I think that's something to pay attention to also like through practice sessions. they red flagged first to clear the track. They wouldn't do red flags of course in the race, but that is something I wanna pay attention to is the VSC market in those situations where you have tracks like that where there's a specific corner where there is gravel or something like that and you get into it. 'Cause they didn't do that in Austria, but I don't think there was the gravel spots weren't really impacted until I don't know, the last corner really, more than anything. So I don't know. Something to pay attention to. Darksideday: So it seems like, just doing a quick search, Circuit of the Americas. tar ones are the ones upcoming that have a decent amount of but yeah we'll get to them soon enough f1capper: Yeah. But I I I don't I'm not gonna go crazy on that, but I think it is something that's very interesting and I don't know why they I gotta actually go back and read like what was the rationale to keep doing that because I was actually really surprised they were doing that. Normally they just let it go, right? But apparently they wanted to clean it in that one section. So I don't know why. it's something we'll we'll have to dig into. But We are at the Hungarian GP. So s this has a soft spot in my heart because that was my first European F1 race that I went to last year. And if I recall correctly, I actually swept my car the entire weekend. So it turned out to be a great, great weekend. the track is everyone calls it the Monaco of Of whatever they want to call it. The the the mo barriers with Monaco barriers or something like that. Yeah, whatever. which it's not I I think it's gonna be a little bit different this year. So, number one, you have the four overtake zones, so that might make it a little bit easier for passing. Not saying it's gonna be a whole lot of passing, but and then I think that Darksideday: Monaco without walls. f1capper: The way the the stupid Energizer Bunny power units work, it's going to play a different dynamic compared to like years past. so I don't think it's it's gonna be as clear-cut, I guess you could say. There's a lot of different things too to factor in this and kind of played in hand last year as well, or it could play on any track. Tire sensitivity is going to be very, very critical. So at Spa we had The tires weren't as sensitive. If anything, it was harder to warm up the tires to get it ready for your your outlap on your outlap for your actual quality run. I think the difference here now is like overheating. It's the complete opposite. You can overheat it. I don't the power the power unit situation or the the energy management s situation isn't going to play as a factor into the this track, of course, because you're going to have more sections where you can recharge. But this is going to be very I think the gap's going to be a lot closer than we expect. I think the top four I don't think it's going to be as clear-cut. And I think the we keep talking about Ferrari. Which we'll actually should get into like what are the upgrades first off. which I put together the list and I'll kind of go through that very quickly now. Let me pull it up. I apologize, I am on my laptop and trying to get everything working here. Well first off we are having the C three, C four, C five. So those are your g those are gonna be your tire compounds. tire stress is gonna be pretty high. It's gonna be a lot of I mean twisting and turning and and whatnot. So it's gonna be very critical. And it's a f front-limited kind of circuit, basically. again, four four zones, so where you're gonna have overtakes and then Yeah, I think that's I gotta read on this small screen. What else am I missing? yeah, we're gonna go we're gonna go s just let's go straight into the upgrade. So Aston Martin. They're bringing two point Everyone's so pumped about it. I think so too. I think so too. Like Darksideday: Aston Martin. they're still going to be exactly where they are just a bit further f1capper: We've talked about this in the past too. Like w when we talk about for years we've said you can't read too deep into every single upgrade, right? Like it's not what and I know they're bringing a two point car and they expect that it's gonna bridge but they were like four seconds behind the the top teams, right? And they're two seconds two Darksideday: many times a Ferrari been back since we've been doing this? How many times have Ferrari been back with their upgrades? Are they back? They're back? They're never back. f1capper: What? Yeah, like no, no. So like this is this is one of those situations where there's a lot of hype, a lot of noise. And listen, maybe they come out and th you know, like to them I think success to them is They're two seconds, let's just say, behind Cadillac right now at this point. Can they at least bridge that gap to like to a second behind them? you know, like is it possible that they can even get that close? That's what they need to work on. They know the season was not going to be a season. This is their learning season. This is like their I mean, they just brought in newy at like at the most wrong time to start developing the car. Like it's the these teams have already been developing the car. So now he's trying to take crap and paste whatever he can. This is what 2.0 is gonna be. So really Nui's impact is not gonna even show. Maybe it won't even show next year. It'd probably be the year after. So it's gonna take some time for them. If you you remember when McLaren worked with Honda back in what was that 2017, 2016, something like it? Darksideday: Yeah. f1capper: This is almost an identical situation that Alonzo was actually on the team too, with McLaren. And they had such a terrible experience with working with Honda, they just could not get anything working with that with the actual Honda team to get that car working well. And guess what? They ended up saying, We're done with you, we're going to Renault since then Darksideday: and they certainly didn't fix it within six races of the season. f1capper: Yeah, so here we are again. They're the only suppli Honda's the only supplier to this team. They can't learn from anything they haven't learned anything from from what they have. They can only learn from the the shit box that they're already in. It's not like they have another team that can just go out and get more data to improve. So this is kinda like a Hail Mary, but they're losing, I guess we'll we'll use your football terms. They're already losing four one. Like what are they gonna do? They're not if maybe they can score one more goal. That's Darksideday: And from that, should we go into maybe an FP1 head-to-head that we saw was posted earlier? f1capper: Which Does tie into a favorite of ours right now. Free money for Darksideday: of our favourite Mexican driver Sergio Perez to beat Fernando Alonso at round minus one twenty. f1capper: Can't wait to sweat this one. Yep. I love it when MGM does this because they they seem to be they love putting that stuff out there, between Darksideday: Early, they're the new 365, where are they gone? f1capper: does three six five have anything for free? not yet. Yeah. So yeah, this is a Darksideday: I don't think so. But they used to, didn't they? f1capper: This is a free money Friday pick. A lot of us love it. And if you're in the premium chat, you might have got at minus one five, maybe minus one eighteen. Since then, gone up to minus one thirty, which we even have an individual that's taking it at that. But yes, I got minus one five, Sergio Perez to beat Fernando Alonso. Darksideday: did you cause the price to go down then now you've got excess? f1capper: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think so. I think so. Unless it's I mean, I did not put a thousand dollars on it. I don't want to get limited that quick from MGM first hour first hour I'm limited. No, just kidding. But yeah, no, it's that's just like that's a no brainer. I don't know how many times I've done a Alonzo fade. Alonzo fades are just always been good. Darksideday: Is that what you're telling us? Don't worry, putting $10 will get you limited on that side. f1capper: And I don't know why they actually posted that he was an underdog to Alonzo. Like are they that hyped up for it? Listen, maybe they do come out and they shock the world. Well, you know what? You can have my hundred dollars then at that point. If you if you actually if Alonzo goes out there and he they just absolutely crush Cadillac, then you you deserve it. You deserve it. So Darksideday: also they will be testing. 100 % Aston Martin. f1capper: Yeah, absolutely. And I think they were not gonna really sh the show i anything until like of their their they're gonna yeah, they're gonna be tweaking. I mean, this is a completely new car. And for all intents and purposes, maybe they get out and do a few laughs and are like, Wow, this thing sucks. We can't we gotta bring it back in Sh we gotta make some changes and and try to get it back out and and see like what's going on. So yeah. easy pick, easy play. I love it. I I would even still take it at minus one thirty at this point. Like don't even let's not overthink this. Like if you're one of those guys listening to this and you really are a believer in the Aston Martin hype, good for you. You know what? Yeah. Yeah. Darksideday: you're not bankrupt already then I don't know. f1capper: Yeah, good for you. Take it and then you can you can get into the chat and say, I told you so and we'll just laugh at you for like back backing them for so long anyways. So so anyways, but Darksideday: And it's minus 125 at the moment, so. f1capper: Minus one twenty f is it it really went down? Who the hell is taking Alonzo? Yeah. Darksideday: Yeah. same people who wanted to do Alonzo Q3 5 to 1 at Monaco or Q2 was it Q1? No was Q3 wasn't it? f1capper: I don't know. Anyone wanting to back any Aston Martin was like, You're you're insane. Like what are you doing? It's just not not a good move. But yeah, this was super easy slam dunk play for for an FP one play. There are some other FP one lines though, which I will, you know, while we're just on it, let me pull up the f the app and let's have fun with it, since this is the only place that has free practice one and stuff. I did have some interest, some interest, slight interest, and we'll get into the Lando talk. whenever I saw Max over Lando, but I'm kind of being cautious. I don't wanna go into that yet. I don't think I wanna really take on some of that smoke just yet. I think that this weekend when it comes to because McLaren is bringing upgrades too. apparently they're supposed to bring a significant amount, like a floor edge, floor wing elements, or front wing elements, I'm sorry, rear suspension. Like they're they're taking a t kind of a different direction, which is kind of scary at the same time because I am very bullish on Norris this weekend. But they're trying to do something different where they're they're focused on like more of the low speed nature of the tra of tracks, right? And they think that a lot of the aerodynamics that they're gonna bring will improve the balance and the traction, which is everything about this track, which is you need traction. You need to you need to be able to to have the right balance to get out of the corners, but then get into the twisty types of turns. So It's minus one thirty five right now to Norris and I said, Let me just be patient and see what else comes out. especially on DraftKings, so what do you think of that actually? Darksideday: Is that Norris over Max? f1capper: I I was thinking for FP one Max over Norris because they're gonna be doing some testing, they're gonna just kinda figure out like is are these upgrades working Darksideday: Hmm. I don't know, I never like to take Red Bull FP1 because they can do... f1capper: Yeah, that's the that's that's another thing. Yes. Yes. Yes. So Darksideday: They usually never have the set up their max ones ever. It's like, this, can't turn it, blah blah blah blah. f1capper: Yeah, and I just don't want to talk to that yet. Darksideday: I don't think so. f1capper: Yeah. The if the only other one that I did kinda like was Gabe the Gabe Arvin Lindblad matchup. I just don't like that is plus one five. I'd rather see like maybe DK put something, I don't know. So so I'll be very interested to see what DraftKings posts since I have access to that as well. but if it was like at plus one fifteen, one twenty, I'd be taking maybe Gabe. I think that I would be very interested to see how I think that is gonna be a little bit closer. everything everyone's gonna be a little bit closer, I think, this weekend. I mean it's kind of known with spa being so long versus now we're in a shorter track. So yeah that's it for free Darksideday: Okay. What do we think for the other sessions? f1capper: So the other sessions I have some I posted this, but r I think from a odds perspective, let's go with qualifying first. I saw a Norris poll at twelve to one. He listen, i I know he hasn't what did he even get polled this year? Probably not. But twelve to one I felt like is off market. if you have Max at eight to one and Norris is just right in the mix most of the time with the with a lot of these at a lot of these tracks, you're giving me twelve to one. I'm gonna take that on. I only put like a quarter unit on it. you can get that on DraftKings. You can still get eleven to one on Bet Online actually if you're on an offshore account. So if I wasn't in a legal state, I would have probably taken it on. Darksideday: And 365 is 8 to 1, so yeah. f1capper: Yeah. Like that's where he should be. He should be closer to Max's odds, not drifting further away. I mean, hell, he he looks solid at spa. Like he could have he could have challenged, you know. So I think this is a little bit of different. So they had a track like this, again, sensitivity to the tires. Can you get it in the right temps? How many times have we seen Ferrari just not get it right? Maybe the temps or maybe this or I mean, I think last year they were kinda lucky to get I mean, I think I don't r I don't remember it was They were the ones that actually found it towards Q3 at the end when Piastri and Norris could not find it. But that was also because like the track temps just completely changed at that time. Just the sensitivity in that will change the dynamics of this track. Just like a degree could change everything. So that's why my my focus is how do I at least maximize the odds now? Darksideday: Yeah. f1capper: And then see we'll see what the opportunity is as we get closer. and also I just don't see Norse pole going any longer than twelve to one. Like he would have to have an a it would have to be an absolute disaster for him to go to get longer than twelve to one. Maybe fifteen to one, but at that point people are gonna jump in. There's no way you're not gonna see him at Piastri's Piastri has been like twenty to one, you know. I think actually no, he was fifteen to one. I believe for pole at Spa. So Piastri last last week or the week before or I think the race before. 'Cause I remember or maybe it was the race before that, because I remember seeing like he was fifty to one for outright to win the race and then I was Yeah, something like that. So along odds, but like Norris is definitely much better, more much more in tune with the car than Piastri is this year. So Darksideday: Ups, true. Or no. yeah, that was it. So, Lando Norris, I like the one that Jen's posted, Lando Norris podium finish. I mean, the prices are all over the place because it opened so big. So, what do we think of 365 price of 125? f1capper: I think you can get it better on Cambi because I did the same thing. I was a Darksideday: You can. So, can't be 150 and if somehow you've got Victor, which have just got old odds, they've got plus 250. So seems you can get like 150, 175 if you shop around. f1capper: Yeah, on on DraftKings, he's plus two fifty for podium position. And I I got it on Cal she thinking like, wow, plus two fifty two, I'm in. Like that's a good number. Darksideday: Yeah, I think you've got to replace that. what you're gonna say every time I hear Cal Street it's like oh yeah what are you 2000 something like that oh yeah that's really nice I'm glad glad glad you told me that f1capper: I wish we could. I'm glad I I don't know how some of these guys were able to find like who are these people putting these bids in? Darksideday: Well, you didn't get Kimi Antonelli top 10 at plus 200, what are doing? f1capper: I'm like, who who are these people? Who's putting in an offer for that? It's what I wanna know. Because that's there's someone on the other end that is pricing that. I'm like, who's the idiot that's price? I want I want that idiot. I wanna be able to catch that idiot sometime. So I do I I I like it though. Listen, I'm going into the weekend, like I had my mind made up. Like I gotta find ways to attack on on Norris. And it just showed in the in the premium chap that like I mean, Jens, Bradford, like they were on it. They were like, Yo, there's some good Lando odds and was like, god, here we go 'Cause I already know I'm like deep into some Lando stuff and I'm like, yeah, this is probably when he gets like P eight and doesn't it finds nothing all weekend, so but I'll take the odds. I don't care. Just because again, I think that it's gonna be very tricky. I think it's we may think we know something every session, and then we're gonna get to qualifying, and then we get to Q three and then it's just like completely just Max ends up probably P one for all intents and purposes. So I'll just take whatever else I can get. Darksideday: One that I'm neutral on for the race is... Let me just see if it's... Yeah, it's about that price everywhere. I don't know, I think it's a bit... There's a bit in it. Racing Bulls double points finish plus 1.25. I think it's a bit bigger just because that Bortoletto got a bit lucky with the VSC last week. And he was getting caught all the time by the Racing Bulls. I don't know. f1capper: Yeah. Darksideday: They always seem to do it. f1capper: I'm worried about Lawson here, but he is getting his upgrades and that's another thing I wanna see is how are these upgrades gonna do at more of a slower speed ch track versus the upgrades seem to have worked really well for Linblad at at Spa. So that's the only thing that's that's Darksideday: Yeah, he seemed to be struggling for a bit, Lindblad, but he seems back now. f1capper: Yeah. I'm trying to see like what is what is this car gonna be. I'm sure it's gonna be fine. but I also have in my mind that Audi will be better here. And I'm pretty sure wasn't it last year where s we saw Gabe and Hulk with the steak car. They were like, I know it's a different car, but but they but their their strength right now has ne wasn't supposed to be a place like Spa. Darksideday: Yeah. f1capper: I think a lot of that also has to do with we're we're only seeing two good midfield teams right now and Alpine is just like we don't know what we're getting from them. And I think this weekend also from Alpine, I think they're gonna I think they're gonna have their struggles too, even though this should be a little bit better for them, maybe. But I think the tire thing is just it's not working well for them. I think they're more sensitive Darksideday: Okay. f1capper: When be I mean we we've seen it, right? Like we we thought like wow they're doing pretty good up until Barcelona and then all of a sudden Silverstone and the last race, they're just not finding it. And I think it's just because they're struggling with with their tire temps. Cola's been doing better than Ghastly at this point. So s so I'm I'm more I'm more confident more confident in Audi this weekend. Darksideday: Yeah. f1capper: But here we go again, man. Whenever I get confident in whatever I'm seeing and whatever I'm doing, it's just completely flips. Everything flips. Darksideday: I got one more for you, one more. Mercedes, most team points, minus 120. f1capper: Mm-hmm. Most Darksideday: If you win the race, it's pretty difficult to lose that. I think it has to be like fifth or sixth. But even still, like second and third can win it. Is four going to be one and four? you're gone. f1capper: Well let me let me throw this at you then. It's on on that that same what about Mercedes both top three at two to one? Darksideday: No, not George Russell. Because I saw Toto quote... f1capper: But you would you're willing to take but you're willing to take most team points. So you're expecting Russell that like has to do well. Darksideday: but I can take them at fourth. I think you can do one at fourth and you'll be fine as well. f1capper: But what if it's what if Kimmy is third place? Huh? Darksideday: Well, then it's lobster anyway, GPR, so you know what mean. f1capper: I don't know. I don't know how I feel about it. I I Darksideday: And I saw Toto's wolf quote. He was saying, everyone's going, ah, they found it. They found the issue. And then Toto wolf said, yeah, it's 50 % the car, but the other 50 % is George Russell's driving style. I was like, hang on a minute. So really we just, it's just going to be washed out season then, isn't it? f1capper: It's kind of it's kind of amazing. I mean it's we thought Lando was a schmuck and then here we are, everyone's reversed and we're like, you know what? Lando is having a way he's driving his he's driving lights out this year. Versus last year we were all just like hating him. And now it's flipped. Everyone is like, respect to Lando this year because he's really driving the best he can. And now we're like, pitchforks out for Russell. I mean Darksideday: you look, if you look, because you're like oh yeah you know what that top three price is looking really good I'll take that and then he's like fifth f1capper: Yeah. I can't I can't predict what is gonna happen with him. I'm afraid to catch a falling knife. And I want to. And I believe Mercedes still, I mean obviously is is the class, class A here at this track, anywhere, any track going in. I just don't know. if I'm willing to lay or take on those prices even though it seems favorable. It's very tempting. It's very, very tempting. I just don't know if I can do it. I don't know. I don't know if I like the minus I mean Darksideday: want to take the falling knife that we were able to catch last week which was Charles de Clare over Louis Hamilton is still the underdog, somehow. f1capper: Yeah, I'm still gonna I'm gonna go back at it. Wait what for qualifying or the race? Darksideday: but another racer but he'll probably take even he's like minus 105 for the race f1capper: Well, I mean I I've been doing both. I did for the past two races, I think I did qualifying and race. I think it's I think out of the f the four bets, it's three out of four so far. I'll do it again if I have to. I don't mind it. I think Leclerc is actually getting more comfortable again. He's he's trying to find he's finding his groove a little bit. Yeah, I'll do it again. Darksideday: Would you take in podium odds minus 125? f1capper: I'm willing to wait. I'm willing to wait. Because I think that if we here's what I would do first, and I'm probably going to do, is I'm going to try to take him for FP th1 top three. Because I still think he'll be in the top three in FP1. And then They'll react to the odds, then in FP two, like something will happen and then I'll see from that point, like what am I what am I willing to do? Because if if Hamilton's still if he's in the mix, if Norris is in the mix, if Russell's in the mix, I mean there's so many guys that could be in the mix and it it could drop his odds. I just don't see it getting longer because I think it will be closer this weekend. I think it's just gonna be a mix. I don't hate it though. I'm just I'm willing to wait. Darksideday: No. Okay, okay. I almost wanna I almost want to keep doing it every damn race. Just to see how when does it hit? When will this thing hit? Darksideday: because I think Aston Martin are gonna be good.
