- 0:02Speaker 1: On SCO lils Ostodio.
- 0:04Speaker 2: This is the Wader Panalty Show.
- 0:09Speaker 3: Good evening and welcome to the Rita Paney Show coming
- 0:12Speaker 3: up tonight. The fallout from Lydia Thorpe's wild antics with
- 0:16Speaker 3: calls for her resignation, Coalition and f Keith Pitt joins
- 0:20Speaker 3: me shortly. Did you sent to Alan government under attack
- 0:23Speaker 3: for its controversial housing plan that will see high rise
- 0:26Speaker 3: towers at train stations across Melbourne. Josh Hammer will be
- 0:30Speaker 3: with me later in the hour with the latest from
- 0:32Speaker 3: the US, including Tim Walls adding to the Democrats men's
- 0:37Speaker 3: issues and we never forget left he's losing it.
- 0:41Speaker 4: Sure do you cut off contact with family members just
- 0:45Speaker 4: because they are voting for Donald Trump? Yes?
- 0:49Speaker 3: But first. The fallout continues from Lydia Thorpe's stunt during
- 0:53Speaker 3: King Charles's reception in Canberra yesterday, where she had this
- 0:57Speaker 3: to say to him.
- 1:08Speaker 5: You got aside against our people. Get up our land back,
- 1:13Speaker 5: give us by your.
- 1:14Speaker 3: Style from us, our bones.
- 1:16Speaker 6: Our scar, our baby, our people.
- 1:19Speaker 3: You dead.
- 1:23Speaker 1: We want the.
- 1:23Speaker 3: Training in this country.
- 1:25Speaker 7: Give up a.
- 1:28Speaker 3: This is not your lad.
- 1:30Speaker 4: This is not your lad.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Not surprising, Lis Senator Thorpe has received attention from media
- 1:42Speaker 3: outlets around the world, with UK outlets in particular being
- 1:47Speaker 3: shocked by her behavior. She's awful at the sudden newspaper said,
- 1:53Speaker 3: King Charles Heckler should be ashamed for appalling behavior. It's
- 1:57Speaker 3: a disgrace, they wrote. As she also made an appearance
- 2:00Speaker 3: on Sky News UK and she repeatedly clashed with hosts
- 2:06Speaker 3: Kay Burley. Have a look I did.
- 2:09Speaker 8: Why did you call him genocideal.
- 2:12Speaker 9: Which is the king's speech?
- 2:14Speaker 8: Why did you call him genocidal?
- 2:16Speaker 7: He waited till the end.
- 2:17Speaker 8: Why did you call because there's a genocide.
- 2:21Speaker 9: There's thousands of massacre sites in this country from invasion
- 2:26Speaker 9: and someone needs to answer for that, and that's he
- 2:30Speaker 9: is the successor, then he needs to answer.
- 2:34Speaker 8: Okay, thank you.
- 2:34Speaker 2: One of your colleagues, one of your colleagues described you
- 2:39Speaker 2: as abusing your position and your intervention was disgraceful. How
- 2:45Speaker 2: do you respond to that.
- 2:49Speaker 9: I'm not fussed about what people say about me. I
- 2:52Speaker 9: will continue to fight for justice for my people. We
- 2:56Speaker 9: are the real sovereigns in this country. The king is
- 2:59Speaker 9: not our sovereign. The king lives in your country. He's
- 3:03Speaker 9: from your country. He can't be our king.
- 3:06Speaker 7: So I don't really.
- 3:10Speaker 3: She also had this to say to gb News reporters
- 3:15Speaker 3: just after the altercation.
- 3:17Speaker 10: I got carried out by the AFP, so I didn't
- 3:20Speaker 10: get a chance to look around on who was supporting me.
- 3:23Speaker 10: But I certainly got a few nods from Aberiginal people
- 3:27Speaker 10: in the room to show that they support my resistance.
- 3:33Speaker 3: This morning, Peter Dutton made his feelings known on this issue.
- 3:38Speaker 3: We'll hear from him, and we'll also hear Senator Thorpe's
- 3:41Speaker 3: response should she resign.
- 3:47Speaker 11: I think there's a very strong argument for somebody who
- 3:51Speaker 11: doesn't believe in the system, but it's willing to take
- 3:53Speaker 11: quarter of a million dollars a year from the system
- 3:55Speaker 11: to resign in principle. And if you were really truly
- 3:59Speaker 11: about your cause and not just about yourself, then I
- 4:02Speaker 11: think that's a decision that you would make well.
- 4:04Speaker 10: First of all, Dutton say it to my face, because
- 4:07Speaker 10: every time I see him in Parliament he walks in
- 4:09Speaker 10: the opposite direction.
- 4:11Speaker 12: I really don't care.
- 4:12Speaker 13: What Dutton says.
- 4:14Speaker 14: I'm in this job for another three and.
- 4:16Speaker 3: A half years and I'm not looking to be re elected.
- 4:20Speaker 15: I'm looking to get justice by my people.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Joding me now is Deputy Executive Director the Institute of
- 4:28Speaker 3: Public Affairs, Dan Wilder. Can Lydia Thorpe really be part
- 4:34Speaker 3: of the resistance, as she calls herself if she's also
- 4:37Speaker 3: part of that system she collects a salary as an MP,
- 4:40Speaker 3: she sits in the Australian Parliament, in the upper House,
- 4:43Speaker 3: she swore an allegiance to the king or Queen in
- 4:47Speaker 3: her case.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Well, that's right, Rita.
- 4:51Speaker 16: There's only twelve senators from Victoria. Lydia Thorpe is one
- 4:56Speaker 16: of them, and apparently she's the one that's being oppressed
- 5:00Speaker 16: that work. So I think what Peter Duncan said is right.
- 5:04Speaker 16: You know, you're happy to draw a quarter of a
- 5:06Speaker 16: million dollar salary from the system that you say is racist,
- 5:10Speaker 16: oppressive and colonial. People can see that this doesn't add up.
- 5:14Speaker 16: You've even had, you know, the activist class in the
- 5:17Speaker 16: Indigenous area disassociating themselves from Lydia Thorpe. And I think
- 5:22Speaker 16: most Australians look at this and say, look, if you
- 5:24Speaker 16: want to have a debate about the republic, fair enough,
- 5:26Speaker 16: you know, you can have a view on whether you
- 5:28Speaker 16: want to stay as a monarchical nation or not. But
- 5:31Speaker 16: the reality is that this is self serving. Of course,
- 5:34Speaker 16: Lydia Thorpe used to be in the Greens. She was
- 5:37Speaker 16: elected as a Senator only because she was on the
- 5:39Speaker 16: Greens ticket, So she's really living on borrow time. And
- 5:43Speaker 16: I think that most Australians have just had a gutfull
- 5:45Speaker 16: of of this kind of behavior.
- 5:46Speaker 1: And of course she has form in this area. Reader.
- 5:51Speaker 3: I do worry though that she will be re elected.
- 5:55Speaker 3: We have seen this before and we are talking about Victoria.
- 5:59Speaker 3: Do you think think at the next election she's going
- 6:03Speaker 3: to be out the next time she has to be
- 6:06Speaker 3: re elected.
- 6:10Speaker 16: I think she'll struggle. But you are right to point
- 6:13Speaker 16: out that it is Victoria. Anything can happen in Victoria, Rita.
- 6:18Speaker 16: And you know, we have seen a lot of activism
- 6:20Speaker 16: and real lacking of political leadership across Australia and particularly
- 6:24Speaker 16: in Victoria on these issues. And the thing that concerns
- 6:27Speaker 16: me is the kinds of things that Lydia Thorpe talks about,
- 6:29Speaker 16: particularly around treaty and so called truth telling. Well, that's
- 6:33Speaker 16: exactly where labor are going. You know, labor is going
- 6:36Speaker 16: in that direction at a state level, at a federal level,
- 6:38Speaker 16: you know, voice treaty truth that's what the Prime Minister
- 6:41Speaker 16: committed to you know, on his first speech as Prime minister,
- 6:44Speaker 16: that was his top promise to the Australian people to
- 6:47Speaker 16: deliver that very radical agenda. Now, thank heavens, that was rejected.
- 6:51Speaker 16: The voice was rejected by sixty percent of the public.
- 6:53Speaker 16: But you know, we can see the left of the
- 6:55Speaker 16: political spectrum being pulled in a very extreme radical direction.
- 7:02Speaker 3: Now two Victorian premieres into Allen's grand plans to build
- 7:06Speaker 3: fifty multi story housing complexes in a number of suburbs
- 7:10Speaker 3: across Melbourne in order to help fix the state's housing crisis.
- 7:15Speaker 3: But there's been speculation that this has been worked into
- 7:19Speaker 3: a broader political play by the Allen government. The first
- 7:22Speaker 3: ten locations set to receive these towers, I don't know
- 7:26Speaker 3: if this is a coincidence, dand but they all tend
- 7:28Speaker 3: to be in liberal leaning areas. Here we go North Brighton,
- 7:32Speaker 3: Middle Brighton, Hampton, Sandringham, all Bayside and you've got Tuak
- 7:36Speaker 3: Village in Tuak, Armadale, Malvern and Hawksburn among the top ten,
- 7:41Speaker 3: and then also Hawthorne. Is that just a wild coincidence
- 7:45Speaker 3: that these train stations and these suburbs are going to
- 7:48Speaker 3: receive twenty to twenty five story towers. Certainly, the premieer
- 7:53Speaker 3: was met with some very angry locals during her announcement
- 7:57Speaker 3: of the plans in Brighton. I'm interested in your response
- 8:02Speaker 3: because I do wonder if those who are complaining are
- 8:05Speaker 3: guilty of being Nimbi's.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Well rita.
- 8:11Speaker 16: This is a very bad policy, clearly being made for
- 8:13Speaker 16: political reasons. As you point out, these are all in
- 8:16Speaker 16: Liberal seats, including a job a pseudo seat in Hawthorne,
- 8:19Speaker 16: which is one of the.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Key areas there. There's a lot of problems with this.
- 8:23Speaker 16: Firstly, this is anti ethical to the Australian way of life.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Australians want to.
- 8:28Speaker 16: Live in detached houses with a bit of land so
- 8:31Speaker 16: that they can raise families. That's been an instricable part
- 8:35Speaker 16: of our culture. They don't want to live in dog
- 8:37Speaker 16: box apartments twenty thirty stories high up in the air.
- 8:41Speaker 16: They've not paid any attention to the locals here, and
- 8:43Speaker 16: as I say, it's been done for political reasons because
- 8:46Speaker 16: Labor believes that people who rent in high rise apartments
- 8:50Speaker 16: are more likely to vote for Labor than they are Liberal. Now,
- 8:53Speaker 16: I think that that's a contested proposition, but Nonetheless, that's
- 8:55Speaker 16: what is informing this decision now for the coalition in Victoria,
- 8:59Speaker 16: this is an absolute line in the sand moment. They
- 9:02Speaker 16: have to oppose these developments. They need to outline an
- 9:05Speaker 16: alternative vision and plan for the future population growth of
- 9:09Speaker 16: Victoria and Metropolitan Melbourne. So far, I think they've said
- 9:12Speaker 16: that they oppose it on the basis that they haven't
- 9:14Speaker 16: consulted with the community, which implies that they may support
- 9:17Speaker 16: it if there was consultation with the community. So there
- 9:20Speaker 16: needs to be a very clear, unequivocal response here that
- 9:24Speaker 16: this is a bad policy that inconsistent, completely inconsistent with
- 9:28Speaker 16: our culture and our values, and the Victorians do not
- 9:30Speaker 16: want it.
- 9:33Speaker 3: I can just see it creating these slums across Melbourne
- 9:39Speaker 3: at these train stations, having these boxes built, having all
- 9:44Speaker 3: sorts of incentives to have people buy them, and they're
- 9:47Speaker 3: talking about discounts on stamp duty and all sorts of
- 9:50Speaker 3: other things that they're going to introduce for new builds.
- 9:56Speaker 3: I do wonder what it also will do to the
- 9:59Speaker 3: housing prices in those areas. We'll talk about housing being
- 10:03Speaker 3: more affordable, but it is the biggest asset most Australians hold.
- 10:08Speaker 3: Dan and nobody wants to see the biggest asset they
- 10:11Speaker 3: hold go backwards after they've slaved a way to be
- 10:14Speaker 3: able to pay off that house.
- 10:19Speaker 1: Well, that's right.
- 10:20Speaker 16: What you're seeing in Victoria really is the destruction of
- 10:24Speaker 16: the middle class and the aspirational middle class. And this
- 10:28Speaker 16: is a part of that. Because who's going to be
- 10:31Speaker 16: owning these apartments. It's going to be the super funds.
- 10:34Speaker 16: It's going to be a lot of build for rent.
- 10:36Speaker 16: I mean, they say it's about ownership, but a lot
- 10:37Speaker 16: of these apartments will be for rent. And there's going
- 10:40Speaker 16: to be a lot of foreign ownership, including from the
- 10:42Speaker 16: Chinese Communist Party. We know, so you know, this is
- 10:45Speaker 16: not about facilitating upward economic and social advancement, which has
- 10:50Speaker 16: been a key cornerstone of the success of our nation.
- 10:54Speaker 16: This is taking us backwards. And it's a part of
- 10:57Speaker 16: a deliberate strategy because Labour knows that their biggest voting cohort,
- 11:01Speaker 16: so those in the public sector, the growing corporate bureaucracy,
- 11:06Speaker 16: those who are tethered to the assistance of government in
- 11:08Speaker 16: one way, shape or form. We saw through COVID the
- 11:11Speaker 16: destruction of the middle class of small business owners and
- 11:14Speaker 16: that's continuing under policies such as this.
- 11:17Speaker 3: Before you go, I have to get your thoughts on
- 11:20Speaker 3: former nine newspaper columnists Clementine Ford. It's the same Clementine
- 11:25Speaker 3: Ford who helped spread the names of hundreds of pro
- 11:28Speaker 3: Israel Jewish creatives earlier this year.
- 11:31Speaker 17: Will remember that.
- 11:32Speaker 3: Well, she's come out with this bizarre take on the
- 11:36Speaker 3: death of her mass leader Yaya Sinwa, So full moon
- 11:41Speaker 3: in aris.
- 11:42Speaker 13: I'm not an astrologer.
- 11:43Speaker 18: I just followed along astrology pages and tarado and basically
- 11:51Speaker 18: like a big how collectively went through the world last
- 11:57Speaker 18: night astrologically speaking, and then to wake up this morning
- 12:02Speaker 18: and see you know that you see the news and
- 12:07Speaker 18: to see the way that the corrupt Western Empire is
- 12:14Speaker 18: framing the targeting of sin Walk.
- 12:19Speaker 17: Yeah.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Interesting?
- 12:21Speaker 3: Can you please translate for me? Be how astrologically speaking? Sinoa?
- 12:29Speaker 3: What does it all mean?
- 12:30Speaker 5: Dad?
- 12:34Speaker 1: You're asking the wrong person. Reader.
- 12:36Speaker 16: I've got no idea what Clementine is on about. And
- 12:39Speaker 16: it's not the first time, and I'm sure i won't
- 12:41Speaker 16: be the last time that I'm sort of lost for
- 12:42Speaker 16: words in terms of her assessment of the situation. And look,
- 12:46Speaker 16: I mean, she's got a lot of form in the
- 12:48Speaker 16: area of strange commentary. She's after a bit of a headline,
- 12:53Speaker 16: I think, and she's probably got what she wants, and
- 12:56Speaker 16: I just think it goes to this point of, you know,
- 12:59Speaker 16: the very bizarre kinds of commentary that we get out
- 13:02Speaker 16: of some of these people these days.
- 13:06Speaker 3: The far left never ceases to surprise. Dan Wild, thank
- 13:09Speaker 3: you for your time this evening. Now let's bring in
- 13:11Speaker 3: former Resources Minister and National's MP Keith Pitt Keith. It
- 13:15Speaker 3: seems a group of protesters have perhaps been inspired by
- 13:19Speaker 3: Senator Lydia forpes Antics. The anti colonial sentiment is certainly
- 13:24Speaker 3: strong in the far left, and we now see a
- 13:27Speaker 3: statue of Queen Victoria in Sydney's CBD vandalized this morning.
- 13:33Speaker 3: What are your thoughts on those who think this country
- 13:37Speaker 3: is illegitimate, it's built on genocide and we need a
- 13:44Speaker 3: resistance for the indigenous community.
- 13:50Speaker 19: Reader, I won't give you the full blob version. I'm
- 13:52Speaker 19: not sure that you be AB will broadcast it. But firstly,
- 13:55Speaker 19: what a disgrace will turn out by a senator for Victoria.
- 14:00Speaker 19: This is the grand final streaker. But you can't work
- 14:02Speaker 19: out whether they're trying to interrupt the game at a
- 14:04Speaker 19: critical point or it's just pure exhibitionism and they want
- 14:07Speaker 19: their ten seconds of glory. But ultimately, Senator the Thorpe's
- 14:10Speaker 19: done enormous damage to the causes she says she supports.
- 14:14Speaker 19: It's made Australia literally a laughing stock internationally. It's awful behavior.
- 14:19Speaker 19: And to think that someone will be out there and
- 14:20Speaker 19: mimic it in other places, well, they've got this completely wrong,
- 14:25Speaker 19: completely wrong.
- 14:28Speaker 3: Well on that stunt, she did swear allegiance to the Queen,
- 14:34Speaker 3: didn't she You can't serve as a senator without taking
- 14:37Speaker 3: the oath, that's my understanding.
- 14:39Speaker 19: Well, that's exactly correct, and so to the Premier is
- 14:41Speaker 19: from what I can recall, none of them ever bothered
- 14:44Speaker 19: to show up either.
- 14:45Speaker 1: But you do have to take an oath.
- 14:47Speaker 19: And I did suggest loudly to Senator Thorpe that she
- 14:51Speaker 19: might want to give up her salary from the invaders
- 14:53Speaker 19: if that was her view, but I didn't get a response.
- 14:56Speaker 19: She was not very far from me at all at
- 14:58Speaker 19: the official welcome for the King in Parliament House. But
- 15:01Speaker 19: the idea that you can have that sort of behavior
- 15:03Speaker 19: and be a member of the Australian Senate and represent
- 15:06Speaker 19: the state of Victoria. Well, I think Victoria invoters got
- 15:09Speaker 19: an opportunity coming up whenever it is that the senator
- 15:12Speaker 19: is up for reelection. And once again this is one
- 15:14Speaker 19: we can thank the Greens for. Reader absolute extremists.
- 15:18Speaker 3: Are you are you willing to debate Senator Thorpe. She
- 15:22Speaker 3: did complain on radio that Peter Dutton whenever he sees
- 15:26Speaker 3: her around Parliament House just goes the other direction. He
- 15:29Speaker 3: doesn't confront her. If she is after a debate, would
- 15:33Speaker 3: you be willing to come on Sky News and have
- 15:36Speaker 3: a one on one debate with Senatility of Thought?
- 15:42Speaker 19: I don't know, Senator thought, Well, I'm happy to debate anybody,
- 15:45Speaker 19: doesn't matter which side they come from or well, we.
- 15:47Speaker 3: Will try to make it happen. She's on the record
- 15:51Speaker 3: wanting to have a debate, so let's go to her
- 15:54Speaker 3: office and we will try to make it happen. And
- 15:58Speaker 3: if she doesn't show up, I think that will say plenty.
- 16:02Speaker 3: Now on that oath, she was called to swear the
- 16:05Speaker 3: oath properly after she first gave us this performance.
- 16:10Speaker 8: I thought so and sincerely.
- 16:18Speaker 9: That I would be faithful and I bear true allegiance
- 16:23Speaker 9: to the colonizing her Majesty Queen Elizabeth Senator.
- 16:27Speaker 3: Thought and let's have a look at some of her
- 16:34Speaker 3: other antics of her recent times. Here she is outside
- 16:38Speaker 3: of Melbourne strip cob followed by her attacking at women's
- 16:43Speaker 3: rights rally led by Kelly J. Keene. You man that
- 16:53Speaker 3: stands with the like that someone in parliament you would
- 17:00Speaker 3: be your personal love.
- 17:02Speaker 1: This country and you.
- 17:07Speaker 5: Get out of my face.
- 17:09Speaker 3: Kingdom as the pilot.
- 17:10Speaker 6: They know what biological text there, let's go.
- 17:40Speaker 3: I shouldn't laugh, but it's such a person fit to
- 17:45Speaker 3: sit in the Upper House, in the Australian Parliament.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Read.
- 17:51Speaker 19: I think this is the great thing. How good is
- 17:52Speaker 19: Australian democracy? Absolutely anyone could be a member of Parliament, unless,
- 17:57Speaker 19: of course you've got a criminal conviction of your bankrupt
- 18:00Speaker 19: but literally anybody, and we have the support of the Greens.
- 18:03Speaker 19: It literally is anyone. I clearly don't agree with Senator
- 18:07Speaker 19: Thorpe's behavior. I think it's inappropriate. She's entitled to have
- 18:11Speaker 19: a view, but I think she's done in chalcuable damage
- 18:13Speaker 19: to her cause.
- 18:14Speaker 1: And people are over it.
- 18:15Speaker 7: They are absolutely over it now.
- 18:17Speaker 3: Keith. Allegations of stabbings, fires and vandalism taking place across
- 18:23Speaker 3: homeless camps in two inner city parks in Brisbane have
- 18:28Speaker 3: forced Brisbane City Council to switch off power to these sides.
- 18:33Speaker 3: The pictures coming out of there are shocking. This is
- 18:36Speaker 3: not what you expect to see in a first world city.
- 18:43Speaker 19: Well, this is what happens when people not only can't
- 18:45Speaker 19: afford their rent, they can't afford their power bill and
- 18:47Speaker 19: they are desperate, and desperate people do desperate things. I
- 18:52Speaker 19: was talking to Senator former Senator Ron Boswell, not that
- 18:54Speaker 19: long ago. Boss tells me he hasn't seen anything like
- 18:57Speaker 19: this since the post war years, where they feel the
- 19:00Speaker 19: Brisbane Exhibition showgrounds with tents for people who couldn't be housed.
- 19:05Speaker 19: I just think it's a terrible reflection not only on
- 19:07Speaker 19: our society but across all governments that this has been allowed.
- 19:11Speaker 19: And you've got a labor government that well, what do
- 19:13Speaker 19: they do? Brought in more than a million additional people
- 19:15Speaker 19: with nowhere to put them. So how about we deal
- 19:18Speaker 19: with this. This is a serious issue, and unfortunately, reader,
- 19:22Speaker 19: I think there'll be more incidents like this because people
- 19:25Speaker 19: just have such desperate need.
- 19:29Speaker 3: And I think just looking at those images, there's a
- 19:31Speaker 3: real fear someone could be seriously hurt or even die.
- 19:37Speaker 3: You're having fires in these encampments at stabbings. It's just
- 19:42Speaker 3: a terrible not just for those who are living there,
- 19:45Speaker 3: but for those who live around these parks, who walk
- 19:48Speaker 3: through them to get to home, to their homes or
- 19:51Speaker 3: to their workplaces.
- 19:54Speaker 19: And I've had similar issues in my electric We've had
- 19:57Speaker 19: tents that catch on fire. You know, people are trying
- 19:59Speaker 19: to get by with whatever they can find, and that
- 20:01Speaker 19: means that you know, they do heat things up with
- 20:03Speaker 19: their old traditional methods. And the worst part of this
- 20:07Speaker 19: is in some cases there are children who are involved
- 20:09Speaker 19: because they just can't find housing.
- 20:12Speaker 1: And you put a lot of.
- 20:13Speaker 19: Desperate people together, you get desperate acts and desperate outcomes.
- 20:16Speaker 19: And it is past time that this was dealt with.
- 20:19Speaker 19: And these people need somewhere to go, and they are
- 20:21Speaker 19: not being helped by huge swaves of immigration prices they
- 20:25Speaker 19: can't afford, and they're just being costed out of everything
- 20:28Speaker 19: they try to attempt. I just think it's a terrible
- 20:31Speaker 19: position to see the country and it should never have happened.
- 20:33Speaker 3: Reader, never, Keith Pete, thank you so much for your
- 20:37Speaker 3: time tonight. Let's bring in Victorian Libertarian MP David Limbrigg.
- 20:43Speaker 3: He joins me in our Melbourne studio. David, thanks for
- 20:45Speaker 3: your time. You've written in an op ed published exclusively
- 20:48Speaker 3: on Elon Musk's X about the dangers of anti vilification laws.
- 20:52Speaker 3: You're right. I can already guarantee you one thing. If
- 20:55Speaker 3: these laws are implemented in their current form, one day,
- 20:59Speaker 3: they will be weaponized against the pro palacedin inactivists the next.
- 21:03Speaker 3: It's not a case of if, it's a case of when,
- 21:06Speaker 3: and the when will be straight away. What makes you
- 21:10Speaker 3: so sure of that.
- 21:13Speaker 20: Well, I think one of the things that we need
- 21:14Speaker 20: to think about is the people pushing these laws are
- 21:18Speaker 20: often able to become the victims straight away. Now, the
- 21:21Speaker 20: government said when they brought through these other laws recently
- 21:24Speaker 20: that they tried to legislate away hate. With the Nazi
- 21:27Speaker 20: salute laws, the government said, well, we hope that they'll
- 21:30Speaker 20: never be used, and actually what happened was within forty
- 21:34Speaker 20: eight hours of royal assent, someone was charged with these
- 21:36Speaker 20: laws and they've totally backfired. I think that what will
- 21:39Speaker 20: happen here is people are already gearing up to weaponize
- 21:42Speaker 20: these laws as soon as they're enacted, and it'll be
- 21:44Speaker 20: a race to get the first conviction.
- 21:47Speaker 3: Do you see a lot of lawfare happening here, because
- 21:50Speaker 3: we've seen that employed in the past, people working pro bono,
- 21:53Speaker 3: and people are essentially going after their ideological opponents, anyone
- 21:59Speaker 3: who has a voice.
- 22:00Speaker 7: I disagree with absolutely.
- 22:01Speaker 1: That's what will happen.
- 22:02Speaker 20: And I've already been trying to outline some scenarios where
- 22:05Speaker 20: this could happen, where the people that they thought were
- 22:07Speaker 20: going to be targeted by these laws will actually be
- 22:10Speaker 20: able to use them against their enemies. And this is
- 22:13Speaker 20: what people don't think about. They always think about the
- 22:15Speaker 20: speech of the people that they don't like, and don't
- 22:18Speaker 20: think that they themselves could be targeted.
- 22:20Speaker 3: Well, you are certainly trying to appeal to the logic
- 22:25Speaker 3: and the free speech loving ways of the left. But
- 22:29Speaker 3: the left these days they love censorship that I just
- 22:32Speaker 3: don't expect it to be used against them. But you're
- 22:35Speaker 3: right that the biggest problem with all kinds of government
- 22:38Speaker 3: censorship is that it leaves someone to decide what the
- 22:42Speaker 3: truth is or what is acceptable speech. A basic test
- 22:45Speaker 3: for people who believe in censorship is to ask them
- 22:48Speaker 3: to imagine what they think would happen if the person
- 22:52Speaker 3: they hate the most was in charge. And you ask
- 22:57Speaker 3: about the scenario if Peter Dutton is elected and here
- 23:00Speaker 3: points a storage conservative I don't know, maybe like me
- 23:03Speaker 3: to be the new E commissioner. Will the left be
- 23:06Speaker 3: happy with that?
- 23:08Speaker 20: Well, they'd be very interesting scenario with you as the
- 23:11Speaker 20: new E Karen, and I'm sorry they wouldn't be happy
- 23:13Speaker 20: with that. And that's exactly the sort of thing that
- 23:15Speaker 20: could happen. That's at a federal level, but at a
- 23:18Speaker 20: state level as well. You can still see the scenarios
- 23:21Speaker 20: playing out in the future. You've got to remember that
- 23:23Speaker 20: the laws are there forever, and they're going to be
- 23:25Speaker 20: under all future governments, not just this one that you
- 23:28Speaker 20: might like. They'll be under future governments that you might
- 23:30Speaker 20: not like.
- 23:31Speaker 11: Now.
- 23:31Speaker 3: Victoria's still manufacturers say they have been betrayed by the
- 23:35Speaker 3: just into Allen government following revelations that over eleven thousand
- 23:38Speaker 3: tons of steel to be used in Victoria's most expensive
- 23:42Speaker 3: road project, the twenty six billion dollar Northeast Link, or
- 23:46Speaker 3: sourced from China. They say this will likely result in
- 23:49Speaker 3: job cuts. David, these projects are terribly over budget. In
- 23:54Speaker 3: the case of the Northeast project, it's more than ten
- 23:58Speaker 3: billion over budget. Is it fair enough that the Stell's
- 24:00Speaker 3: coming from the cheapest source.
- 24:03Speaker 20: Look, I think that taxpayers deserve to get the right
- 24:07Speaker 20: product at the cheapest price, wherever that comes from. However,
- 24:11Speaker 20: some of the things that have happened here. The government's
- 24:13Speaker 20: actually asked these Australian steel producers to reserve production capacity,
- 24:17Speaker 20: which is deeply unfair. And also you have to ask yourself, well,
- 24:20Speaker 20: why isn't Australian steel more productive? You know, because of
- 24:24Speaker 20: our energy policies, Because we have these policies on coal,
- 24:28Speaker 20: we've made ourselves less competitive. And there's also some concerns
- 24:33Speaker 20: about the quality of this stell, you know, is it
- 24:35Speaker 20: actually a comparable product. I think there's a lot of
- 24:37Speaker 20: questions here, and I think that these manufacturers, after being
- 24:40Speaker 20: asked to reserve capacity, you have a right.
- 24:42Speaker 1: To be upset.
- 24:43Speaker 3: Well, it's the worst of both worlds. We're probably getting
- 24:46Speaker 3: a substandard product and the project is still ten billion
- 24:49Speaker 3: plus over budget. That's victoria for you. David Linbrick, thanks
- 24:53Speaker 3: for your.
- 24:53Speaker 1: Time this evening, Thanks for having me.
- 24:56Speaker 3: Still to come an extended edition of The Left. He
- 25:00Speaker 3: is losing it. You'll be crazy to miss.
- 25:02Speaker 17: That welcome back.
- 25:14Speaker 3: Now it's time for lefties a losing air, and let's
- 25:18Speaker 3: start lefties with a man who was once considered cool
- 25:21Speaker 3: and at top of his game.
- 25:24Speaker 17: No more.
- 25:24Speaker 3: Trump derangement syndrome has broken Robert de Niro's brain, and
- 25:28Speaker 3: he seems determined to continue to embarrass himself campaigning for
- 25:33Speaker 3: the Democrats. Exactly who is this convincing them?
- 25:38Speaker 1: Now?
- 25:39Speaker 3: But in the clur we all found?
- 25:41Speaker 7: What in de clurb we all found? I don't in
- 25:46Speaker 7: the club.
- 25:46Speaker 3: We are all family now to transactivist Jeffrey marsh and
- 25:53Speaker 3: he has a lot of videos about cutting contact with
- 25:56Speaker 3: your parents, cutting contact with your family members, loved ones,
- 26:00Speaker 3: and he's just found another reason to do that.
- 26:05Speaker 4: Should you cut off contact with family members just because
- 26:09Speaker 4: they are voting for Donald Trump? Yes, if so far
- 26:15Speaker 4: they have not been able or willing to listen to compassion,
- 26:19Speaker 4: to listen to kindness, to listen to you, or even
- 26:23Speaker 4: to do their own research and discover that hatred is
- 26:27Speaker 4: not the answer, that love and kindness is the answer.
- 26:30Speaker 4: If they are unwilling to change, they they must experience consequences.
- 26:40Speaker 3: He's terrifying. They must face consequences for what. Wanting a
- 26:45Speaker 3: strong economy secure borders, safe cities for wanting men out
- 26:50Speaker 3: of women's sports and women's spaces. Let's see what else
- 26:54Speaker 3: old mate Jeffrey has to say. I'm a little scared.
- 26:59Speaker 4: And you not withhold those consequences from them. The consequence
- 27:04Speaker 4: in this case would be they don't get your beautiful, loving,
- 27:08Speaker 4: wonderful presence in their lives. It's over and they are gone.
- 27:16Speaker 3: That's the modern left for you, folks, mad as cut
- 27:19Speaker 3: snakes and somehow fooling themselves into thinking they're tolerant and inclusive.
- 27:26Speaker 13: Now.
- 27:26Speaker 3: Another celebrity brought in to push the Kamala bandwagon is
- 27:30Speaker 3: pop star Billy Eilish. She stars in this cringy little
- 27:34Speaker 3: video with mister Kamala Doug Knock him out, Knock him out,
- 27:38Speaker 3: Ermoff and his daughter, who I'm told is a model.
- 27:42Speaker 3: And there's also some other dude in the video I've
- 27:44Speaker 3: never seen before.
- 27:46Speaker 12: Everyone, second, gentlemen here, we've got to all get out
- 27:48Speaker 12: there and make sure you're registered and make sure you're
- 27:51Speaker 12: voting early for my wife and Mamola Kamala Harris for
- 27:57Speaker 12: a president of the United States.
- 27:58Speaker 15: You can go to I will Vote to check your
- 28:01Speaker 15: polling place and make sure to vote early.
- 28:03Speaker 1: I will get you.
- 28:04Speaker 10: Voting early and vote FORMA.
- 28:10Speaker 3: And here is another celebrity endorsement, this time from Lizzo
- 28:16Speaker 3: president A.
- 28:18Speaker 21: Oh my god, no, thank you for everything that you're doing.
- 28:22Speaker 21: You're fighting for democracy for this country. I know it's hard,
- 28:25Speaker 21: but you're so close. You're almost a your part, and
- 28:30Speaker 21: I thank you for that.
- 28:32Speaker 3: Let's win this.
- 28:35Speaker 4: Go on.
- 28:37Speaker 3: And listen here as pop star Lizo says that voting
- 28:41Speaker 3: for the Democrats would turn America into Detroit. And that's
- 28:46Speaker 3: a good thing. I'm so proud to be from this city.
- 28:50Speaker 12: You know.
- 28:51Speaker 21: They say, if Kamala wins, then the whole country will
- 28:54Speaker 21: be like Detroit, proud like Detroit, resilient like Detroit.
- 29:03Speaker 3: Yes, let's have the crime through the roof, have the decay,
- 29:08Speaker 3: the destruction that you see in Detroit, the fact that
- 29:11Speaker 3: so many are fleeing the joint yet, really do we
- 29:14Speaker 3: want to turn America into that? And one more celebrity
- 29:18Speaker 3: endorsement before we get some aosc craziness. Here is Usher,
- 29:22Speaker 3: who only a few weeks ago declined to do any
- 29:25Speaker 3: sort of political messaging, any sort of political endorsement, but
- 29:29Speaker 3: now here he is.
- 29:32Speaker 14: I'm supporting Vice President Harris because she fights for everyone's
- 29:37Speaker 14: rights for freedom, and it doesn't matter where you're from.
- 29:43Speaker 14: She has a vision for our country that includes everyone.
- 29:46Speaker 14: We've led through some very unfortunate realities.
- 29:49Speaker 1: Of our past.
- 29:50Speaker 3: However, we must learn.
- 29:52Speaker 14: From those moments and understand that the voice that we
- 29:55Speaker 14: have makes the difference that we want to see. We
- 30:00Speaker 14: have to strive to not allow our past to define
- 30:03Speaker 14: our future.
- 30:07Speaker 3: Did he say that? Did he really say that? Now?
- 30:11Speaker 3: Donald Trump's genius move to do some work experience at
- 30:14Speaker 3: McDonald's was a hugely successful. Normal folk liked it and
- 30:19Speaker 3: thought it was funny. Of course, he's mocking Kamala Harris
- 30:22Speaker 3: for pretending she wants work. They're no evidence of that
- 30:25Speaker 3: has been found so far, but they're left are having
- 30:29Speaker 3: an almighty meltdown about Trump's Macca appearance, and AOC has
- 30:34Speaker 3: decided he was mocking those who work at McDonald's. She's
- 30:38Speaker 3: always so cluelessly wrong about everything and hysterical.
- 30:45Speaker 22: Donald Trump putting on a little McDonald's costume because he
- 30:50Speaker 22: thinks that's what people do. They're not trying to empathize
- 30:55Speaker 22: with us, They are making fun of us. They're making
- 31:01Speaker 22: fun of us. Donald Trump thinks that people who work
- 31:04Speaker 22: at McDonald's are a joke.
- 31:06Speaker 3: And here is the woman herself, Kamala Harris, earlier today.
- 31:10Speaker 3: And yes, we got another word salad about aspirations, dreams, hopes.
- 31:17Speaker 23: We have to tap into and rejoice frankly in the
- 31:21Speaker 23: spirit of who we are as Americans, and we are
- 31:27Speaker 23: and ambitious people. We have aspirations, we have dreams, We
- 31:34Speaker 23: are optimistic by nature, and we I think value certain
- 31:43Speaker 23: qualities in our leaders.
- 31:46Speaker 3: Now, Tim Walls was on the View today and it
- 31:48Speaker 3: was precisely what you'd expect, a softball, boring and at
- 31:52Speaker 3: times unhinged affair. I've watched it, so you don't have to.
- 31:56Speaker 3: You're welcome. Here are three highlights. Let's start with will
- 32:00Speaker 3: Be Goldberg proving to the will that she doesn't understand
- 32:04Speaker 3: election lules. And she's also here lashing ass at all Old.
- 32:08Speaker 13: Musque and this people keep trying to buy the election. Yeah,
- 32:14Speaker 13: billionaire Elon Musk has gone all in for you know who,
- 32:19Speaker 13: and now he's giving out a million dollars a day
- 32:23Speaker 13: to people who sign his super Pax petition. Now, I
- 32:28Speaker 13: thought that was against the law, but apparently this then
- 32:32Speaker 13: found some new loop stuff that allowed this to go.
- 32:35Speaker 13: I thought you couldn't do this. What's happening?
- 32:38Speaker 24: Well, I think that's what you do when you have
- 32:40Speaker 24: no plan for the public, when you have no economic
- 32:42Speaker 24: plan that's going to benefit the middle class, when you
- 32:44Speaker 24: have no plan to protect reproductive rights, when you have
- 32:46Speaker 24: no plan to address climate change and produce American energy,
- 32:50Speaker 24: you go to these type of tactics.
- 32:51Speaker 25: It's all about it's a concept.
- 32:54Speaker 13: Aren't these tactics against the law, though, aren't you?
- 32:57Speaker 24: Well, I'll let the lawyers decide.
- 33:03Speaker 3: Even Elon has found some new loop stuff. Even someone
- 33:08Speaker 3: as dense as Tim Walls knows that's not against the law,
- 33:12Speaker 3: but he doesn't say it there, does he? Of course,
- 33:14Speaker 3: it's not against the law to incentivize people to sign
- 33:17Speaker 3: a petition. It's a petition, not a ballot. And given
- 33:21Speaker 3: the Democrats have a big problem with male voters, why
- 33:25Speaker 3: would they send Walls to a program watched by no
- 33:28Speaker 3: men and no saying women either. Really, at least they
- 33:31Speaker 3: gave him a present, So we've got.
- 33:34Speaker 26: The view and a dad in pad.
- 33:40Speaker 9: That to send the dre No, that's for you freshing
- 33:45Speaker 9: up that wardrobe a little.
- 33:48Speaker 8: But if you win, well you war it back. And
- 33:50Speaker 8: come back and visit us.
- 33:51Speaker 7: When you win, Well you wear.
- 33:53Speaker 24: But that's what I was going to say, you know
- 33:54Speaker 24: I'm wearing.
- 33:58Speaker 3: And finally, here is Tim Walls claiming that he is
- 34:01Speaker 3: a better shot than Republicans and has the trophies to
- 34:05Speaker 3: prove it. If you believe that, you'll believe anything.
- 34:09Speaker 25: So you're out hunting pheasants?
- 34:11Speaker 1: Yep?
- 34:13Speaker 25: Is that enough to convince people there's a middle ground
- 34:15Speaker 25: on this issue because right now, right now, right wingers
- 34:19Speaker 25: are coming after you for how you handle are your shotgun?
- 34:25Speaker 24: Well I can shoot better than I.
- 34:28Speaker 12: Got the trophies to prove it.
- 34:30Speaker 3: Still to car, we'll have all the lators from the US,
- 34:33Speaker 3: including the let's meltdown after Donald Trump's shift at Macca's.
- 34:38Speaker 17: Josh Hammer joins next Welcome back.
- 34:53Speaker 3: Joining me now is Newsweek's senior editor at Large, Josh Hammer.
- 34:57Speaker 3: Josh Elon Musk has been busy catching rockets and talking politics,
- 35:02Speaker 3: and this little anecdote he tells about a voter who
- 35:06Speaker 3: tried to show his ID shows just how crazy the
- 35:10Speaker 3: system is in America and why so many people have
- 35:15Speaker 3: little faith in the integrity of elections.
- 35:18Speaker 15: A friend of mine went to a vote in Palo
- 35:21Speaker 15: Walto in California, because he was like, is this real
- 35:24Speaker 15: or not? And he tried to show his ID and
- 35:27Speaker 15: it was like a like presenting across to a vampire,
- 35:30Speaker 15: like they're.
- 35:30Speaker 14: Like, no, no, put the idea away, Josh.
- 35:38Speaker 3: Polls show that the majority of Americans, not just the
- 35:41Speaker 3: majority of Republicans, support voter ID. Why are the Democrats
- 35:47Speaker 3: so dead set against the idea?
- 35:51Speaker 26: So, reader, First of all, I actually voted early. I'm
- 35:53Speaker 26: wearing my little sticker here. I'm wearing my voted early sticker.
- 35:56Speaker 26: I actually went to local poll here in Florida and
- 35:58Speaker 26: I voted just about three hours. I'm talking to you,
- 36:00Speaker 26: So for any Americans out there in the audience, I
- 36:02Speaker 26: would strongly encourage you to do what I didn't, to
- 36:05Speaker 26: go in and vote early. There is no reason to
- 36:08Speaker 26: leave this to election day now. Personally read in my
- 36:10Speaker 26: own personal opinion on this is that I think it
- 36:12Speaker 26: should be only one election day.
- 36:13Speaker 7: Make a national holiday if you have to.
- 36:15Speaker 26: I don't like this whole early voting thing, but as
- 36:17Speaker 26: long as that's the rule here in America, I intend
- 36:19Speaker 26: to take advantage of it. On the voter I D
- 36:21Speaker 26: thing because three hours ago when I vote in Florida.
- 36:24Speaker 26: I showed up with my voter ID and it was
- 36:27Speaker 26: basically a cakewalk. I have no good reason as to
- 36:31Speaker 26: why Democratic elites. And here's the key point, it really
- 36:34Speaker 26: is only Democratic elites. This is an issue that polls
- 36:37Speaker 26: like seventy five to twenty five, seventy thirty, depends how
- 36:40Speaker 26: exact that you want to do it. But a majority
- 36:43Speaker 26: of Hispanics, a majority of Black Americans. There is really
- 36:46Speaker 26: no demographic subgroup in America that I am aware of
- 36:49Speaker 26: where a majority does not support voter ID legislation. Because
- 36:53Speaker 26: walking around here in the United States, you need a
- 36:55Speaker 26: voter I D to do basically anything. You want to
- 36:57Speaker 26: go into a government building to get a marriage certificate,
- 37:00Speaker 26: or you want to talk about your taxes, whatever, you
- 37:02Speaker 26: need to show your voter ID. You want to go
- 37:03Speaker 26: buy a case of alcohol, a bottle of vodka to
- 37:06Speaker 26: keep whatever.
- 37:07Speaker 7: You need an ID.
- 37:08Speaker 26: You want to bor an airplane, you need an ID.
- 37:09Speaker 26: It makes no sense what soever that you would not
- 37:13Speaker 26: need an ID to do something as powerful, as important
- 37:17Speaker 26: as actually choosing the direction of the fate of our republic.
- 37:21Speaker 26: And I can think of no reason, frankly, to oppose
- 37:24Speaker 26: this other than that you actually want illegal aliens to vote,
- 37:27Speaker 26: You actually want fraud. I have to conclude that actually
- 37:30Speaker 26: is the reason.
- 37:31Speaker 7: Reader.
- 37:31Speaker 26: I'm trying not to be cynical here, but I cannot
- 37:33Speaker 26: think of another reason.
- 37:34Speaker 7: I just can't.
- 37:35Speaker 3: Josh, You're so right, as you said, the overwhelming majority
- 37:39Speaker 3: of Americans support voter IDs. So why would the Democrats
- 37:44Speaker 3: be so against it? Unless there is some dishonest reason.
- 37:48Speaker 3: Why wouldn't you want to boost confidence in elections when
- 37:53Speaker 3: that confidence has really fallen in recent years. Now it
- 37:57Speaker 3: is also becoming increasingly clear that Democrats have a big
- 38:01Speaker 3: problem with mail voters, white, male voters, black, Hispanic. It's
- 38:05Speaker 3: across the board. And how are they addressing this issue
- 38:08Speaker 3: while they're sending Tim Walls to the view And predictably,
- 38:13Speaker 3: he was asked tough questions. No had any of his
- 38:18Speaker 3: outlandish claims, I don't know fact checked.
- 38:24Speaker 25: Right now, right wingers are coming after you for how
- 38:27Speaker 25: you handle are your shotgun?
- 38:31Speaker 9: Well?
- 38:32Speaker 24: I can shoot better than I got the trophiesh to
- 38:36Speaker 24: prove it.
- 38:36Speaker 3: What do you think is this interview going to boost
- 38:39Speaker 3: their chances with mal voters? And what is the answer
- 38:43Speaker 3: to that problem? Because it's obviously one they're grappling with.
- 38:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 38:48Speaker 26: You know, I think for every second that that Tim
- 38:50Speaker 26: Wall sat down on that set with the not so
- 38:53Speaker 26: very fine ladies of the view, he's probably losing testosterone
- 38:56Speaker 26: in real time, frankly. So, you know, if they're trying
- 38:58Speaker 26: to make inroads with the male voter, that they have
- 39:01Speaker 26: clearly alienated. You know, by the way the media Rita.
- 39:04Speaker 26: Speaking of the media, they also misrepresent this gender gap
- 39:07Speaker 26: here in the twenty twenty four election. They talk all
- 39:09Speaker 26: the time about how Republicans have a women problem, and
- 39:13Speaker 26: they usually blame it on the abortion issue.
- 39:15Speaker 7: They never talk about it.
- 39:16Speaker 26: They never talk about the fact that men are going
- 39:18Speaker 26: to vote for Trump over Kamala Harris at a historic rate.
- 39:22Speaker 26: And part of that is because they're not willing to
- 39:24Speaker 26: actually be introspective and to look into the mirror a
- 39:26Speaker 26: little bit and ask them very difficult, pointing questions as
- 39:29Speaker 26: to why that might be the case. First of all,
- 39:31Speaker 26: I think you have to look at the transgender issue,
- 39:34Speaker 26: the whole notion of gender ideology. The overwhelming majority of
- 39:38Speaker 26: men in America are not down for that. I don't
- 39:40Speaker 26: think the majority of women are down for that either.
- 39:43Speaker 26: It definitely is not something that men want to hear
- 39:45Speaker 26: when you try to tell them that if you feel
- 39:46Speaker 26: like a woman, you can actually be a woman. You know,
- 39:48Speaker 26: how about just good old school fashion, common sense, about
- 39:52Speaker 26: trying to instill virtues in men, trying to get men
- 39:56Speaker 26: to be protectors of the home, to marry young and
- 40:00Speaker 26: to have children and to raise family.
- 40:02Speaker 7: You know, all the great virtues.
- 40:04Speaker 26: That men who are who are trained in those virtues
- 40:06Speaker 26: have been able to rise to over the centuries. The
- 40:08Speaker 26: Democratic Party in its current form has no interest in
- 40:11Speaker 26: this whatsoever. They are solely interested in demasculating.
- 40:15Speaker 7: Men out there.
- 40:16Speaker 3: Look.
- 40:16Speaker 26: I don't know exactly how they get themselves out of this,
- 40:19Speaker 26: because they're really in it pretty deep at this point,
- 40:21Speaker 26: but at a bare minimum, at a bare minimum, a.
- 40:23Speaker 7: Good place to start.
- 40:25Speaker 26: We to stop with all the DEI woke nonsense, because
- 40:29Speaker 26: the entire current paradigm through which the left operates here
- 40:32Speaker 26: in America and I guess the Western World War generally,
- 40:34Speaker 26: when you talk about diversity, equity, inclusion, wokeism, it all
- 40:38Speaker 26: ends up being basically a war against men, against whites Christians,
- 40:43Speaker 26: and really white Christian men above all. And unless until
- 40:46Speaker 26: the Democratic Party stops these explicitly racist anti white explicitly
- 40:52Speaker 26: anti male sexist policies. I don't think that you're gonna
- 40:55Speaker 26: see those kind of voters go back anytime soon. You
- 40:57Speaker 26: know what happens to the good old fashioned barl luth
- 41:00Speaker 26: king junior sentiment. Judge me not by the by the
- 41:03Speaker 26: color of my skin or my genitalia structure. Fucking extractly,
- 41:07Speaker 26: how about we just judge everyone beast on the continent
- 41:09Speaker 26: of their character and their individual merit.
- 41:12Speaker 7: That would be a better America.
- 41:13Speaker 3: I think, well, they're very dirty words these days, Josh.
- 41:19Speaker 3: You know, things have moved along in progressive circles. Even
- 41:22Speaker 3: the word merit is got all sorts of connotations for
- 41:25Speaker 3: those folk. Kamala Harris, though she is succeeding in not
- 41:31Speaker 3: just alienating mal voters. But you've got to wonder hammid
- 41:35Speaker 3: longer can the Jewish community so strongly back the Democrats.
- 41:39Speaker 3: Have a look at this interaction at a campaign event
- 41:44Speaker 3: where she agrees with a crazed protest accusing Israel of genocide.
- 41:50Speaker 3: Just look at the short video of this.
- 41:56Speaker 7: Ninety thousand children are dead. Go to column ninete, So.
- 42:06Speaker 23: Listen what he's talking about. It's real, and so that's
- 42:11Speaker 23: not the subject that I came to discuss today, but
- 42:13Speaker 23: it's real and I respect his voice.
- 42:17Speaker 3: Naturally, the Harris Wolfs campaign wants you to not to
- 42:21Speaker 3: believe your lying eyes or ears. They denying that she
- 42:24Speaker 3: agreed with the protester, but it's they're on the tape
- 42:28Speaker 3: or you heard in that clip he accused Israel of genocide.
- 42:31Speaker 3: Use that word. He then said they're responsible for ninety
- 42:35Speaker 3: thousand children being dead, and she agreed with him. Again.
- 42:41Speaker 3: How is it that so many in the Jewish community
- 42:44Speaker 3: continue to back the Democrats even when they show that
- 42:48Speaker 3: community where they stand on this critical.
- 42:51Speaker 26: Issue, Reda, You're bringing up here a topic that I
- 42:57Speaker 26: have been yelling about and ranting about since I was
- 43:00Speaker 26: in middle school or high school. This has always been
- 43:02Speaker 26: one of my lifelong pet thieves, is how politically stupid
- 43:05Speaker 26: and self hating the American Jewish community is. Now, you know,
- 43:08Speaker 26: it's worth noting that the American Jewish community is actually
- 43:11Speaker 26: something of an international outlier when it comes to voting
- 43:13Speaker 26: for the Party of the Love.
- 43:14Speaker 7: So I refer to you.
- 43:15Speaker 26: I could be wrong on this, but I think that
- 43:17Speaker 26: historically the Australian Jewish community tends to vote for the
- 43:20Speaker 26: right of center party. That is definitely true for the
- 43:22Speaker 26: most part in recent elections in the UK and Britain.
- 43:24Speaker 26: It's definitely true in Canada. Israel, by far the biggest
- 43:27Speaker 26: Jewish population, is clearly a right of center country these days.
- 43:30Speaker 26: So so America is something of an outlier.
- 43:33Speaker 7: Tragically. I think that there are numerous reasons for this.
- 43:36Speaker 26: Part of it is actually the metastasist of a deeply
- 43:39Speaker 26: theologically progressive strand of Judaism, reform Judaism here in the
- 43:43Speaker 26: United States, which is really not particularly popular outside of
- 43:46Speaker 26: America in the world. But when you look at at
- 43:49Speaker 26: Jewish voters when they tell polsters what issues they most
- 43:53Speaker 26: care about rita, I mean, it basically reads like satire
- 43:56Speaker 26: or parody. I mean a plurality of Jewish voters are
- 44:00Speaker 26: having issues like climate change, immigration, justice, abortion on demand.
- 44:05Speaker 26: It's galling the percentage of my fellow Jews here in
- 44:08Speaker 26: America who actually vote on what we might call Jewish issues,
- 44:12Speaker 26: whether it is support for Israel, whether it is religious
- 44:14Speaker 26: liberty first amen values more generally, it's it's much much,
- 44:19Speaker 26: much lower than it should be now. Thank God that
- 44:21Speaker 26: that actually is starting to slowly change for demographic reasons.
- 44:25Speaker 7: If nothing else.
- 44:25Speaker 26: Because religious Jews have more children, they have more families,
- 44:28Speaker 26: they tend to be more politically conservative. So so I
- 44:30Speaker 26: think that this whole conversation is actually going to look
- 44:32Speaker 26: a lot different, God willing, ten to fifteen years from now.
- 44:36Speaker 26: But for now, you know, Unfortunately, Kamala Harris is probably
- 44:39Speaker 26: not going to lose a ton of voters when it
- 44:41Speaker 26: comes to this particular exchange because the kind of people
- 44:44Speaker 26: that are voting for her don't really care very much
- 44:46Speaker 26: about this particular issue. Having said that, I do predic
- 44:49Speaker 26: Donald Trump's going to probably win about forty percent of
- 44:51Speaker 26: the Jewish vote, thirty eight to forty percent of I
- 44:53Speaker 26: had to put a number that would actually be the
- 44:54Speaker 26: highest percentage since Ronald Reagan. It's still less than fifty percent.
- 44:58Speaker 26: Still have a lot of work to do there, but
- 44:59Speaker 26: that would be a pretty good result overall.
- 45:03Speaker 3: Now, before you go, I've got to get your thoughts
- 45:06Speaker 3: on Donald Trump doing a stint at McDonald's. The Democrats
- 45:11Speaker 3: are losing their mind over this, The left wing media
- 45:14Speaker 3: losing their mind over this. They're busy telling us that
- 45:18Speaker 3: it was a media stunt. He didn't really work a shift.
- 45:21Speaker 3: As if anybody thinks a billionaire and presidential candidate is
- 45:26Speaker 3: actually working shifts at McDonald's. They're feeling the need to
- 45:29Speaker 3: fact check this tell me about the merits of what
- 45:34Speaker 3: he did and was it worth it?
- 45:38Speaker 7: Oh? This was absolutely brilliant. This was political mastery.
- 45:43Speaker 26: I mean, whoever had this idea is an absolute rock
- 45:46Speaker 26: ribbed genius. I mean what we saw there, this photo
- 45:49Speaker 26: of Donald Trump in the McDonald's apron, looking out the window, waving,
- 45:53Speaker 26: smiling to whoever he had just served the Happy Meal
- 45:55Speaker 26: or the Big Mac too. I mean that instantaneously has become,
- 45:59Speaker 26: in my estimate, the second most iconic photo of the
- 46:02Speaker 26: entire twenty twenty four presidential cycle, only after Donald Trump
- 46:06Speaker 26: and Butler Pennsylvania with the bloody face raising the fist
- 46:09Speaker 26: with the American flag. That's an old time historical photo.
- 46:11Speaker 26: But this is honestly, like not a very distant second.
- 46:14Speaker 26: This is a pretty close second. It's just genius stuff.
- 46:17Speaker 26: Kamala Harris I maybe a week or two ago, was
- 46:19Speaker 26: talking about how she worked in McDonald's and they couldn't
- 46:22Speaker 26: find the record. So Donald Trump says, you know what,
- 46:24Speaker 26: I'm just gonna go work at McDonald's. And most important,
- 46:28Speaker 26: he looked like he was enjoying it. He's either a
- 46:32Speaker 26: fantastic prior like an Oscar winning actor, or he was
- 46:36Speaker 26: actually enjoying it. I think it's the latter. I think
- 46:38Speaker 26: he looked like he looked like he's probably really enjoying it.
- 46:41Speaker 26: He thrives in this setting of actually interacting with real
- 46:45Speaker 26: blue collar, in the flesh Americans, and that kind of
- 46:48Speaker 26: gets ultimately at Donald Trump's appeal, which is, yes, he
- 46:51Speaker 26: is the Fifth Avenue New York City billionaire, He's also
- 46:54Speaker 26: a man of the people. He is fundamentally what I
- 46:56Speaker 26: referred to time and time again as a class trader
- 46:59Speaker 26: to the rule class from which he comes. Yes, he
- 47:02Speaker 26: has elite credentials. He went to the Warden School at
- 47:05Speaker 26: University of Pennsylvania. He's worth oodles and oodles of money.
- 47:08Speaker 26: But his heart, his sentiments, and his general worldview are
- 47:11Speaker 26: not with the coastal elites here in America. They really
- 47:14Speaker 26: are with the country class, with the people in the
- 47:17Speaker 26: river valleys in the Midwest and the South and the
- 47:19Speaker 26: mountain West and whatnot there. That is why I think
- 47:22Speaker 26: he's going to win this election. It is McDonald's serving
- 47:26Speaker 26: Big Max just like this that I genuinely do think
- 47:29Speaker 26: you're going to deliver the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and therefore
- 47:31Speaker 26: the presidency to Donald Trump come November fifth.
- 47:36Speaker 3: Josh Hamma, thank you so much for your time this evening.
- 47:38Speaker 3: That's it from mail seer at eleven tomorrow up next
- 47:42Speaker 3: is Newsnight.
