- 0:09Speaker 1: Now back to Mark Simone on wo R. Hey, let's
- 0:17Speaker 1: take some calls. Let's go to Terry in Bayside, Terry,
- 0:20Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 0:22Speaker 2: Oh? I'm Mark.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Every day. This guy has a different name, a different something.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Let's go to Walter in Forest Hills. Walter, how you doing?
- 0:32Speaker 2: Hi, Good morning, Mark, how are you good. I wanted
- 0:35Speaker 2: to make a comment on the snow cleanup. You know,
- 0:38Speaker 2: I was talking to some of the sanitation guys hanging
- 0:40Speaker 2: out at the coffee shop and they mentioned, you know,
- 0:44Speaker 2: the city this year directed them that they never had
- 0:47Speaker 2: to do this before, but they had to clean and
- 0:50Speaker 2: make a priority clean every bike lean in the city.
- 0:54Speaker 2: It had to be perfectly clear. So you know, the
- 0:58Speaker 2: city you got to remember over the pestcup years, they
- 1:00Speaker 2: put these bike lanes down Queens Boulevard the entire length
- 1:05Speaker 2: all over green Point Williamsburg. These little side street you
- 1:07Speaker 2: got bike lanes, and the bike lanes are protected, so
- 1:11Speaker 2: you know, you got these stanchions put up concrete barriers.
- 1:13Speaker 2: So the city bought these like little snowplow machines for
- 1:18Speaker 2: the sanitation guys to use. It's like a quarter of
- 1:21Speaker 2: the size of a street sweeper. Yeah, they really didn't
- 1:24Speaker 2: work out too well. One of them overturned on the
- 1:27Speaker 2: FDR drive. You know. It was just they're not made
- 1:30Speaker 2: for that. It's made for like a mall parking lot,
- 1:32Speaker 2: they said. So they said, you know, just to push
- 1:34Speaker 2: that amount of snow with that machine, they had to
- 1:37Speaker 2: bring in, you know, really manual labor. Have you doune
- 1:40Speaker 2: your pa.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Well, there's some truth to that, but you know, they
- 1:42Speaker 1: have not cleared the city bike installations. In fact, there's
- 1:45Speaker 1: three thousand city bike installations. Only five hundred of them
- 1:49Speaker 1: are working right now because twenty five hundred of them
- 1:51Speaker 1: are buried in snow. So they haven't helped the bike population.
- 1:57Speaker 1: They've for whatever reason, left those specs in bank. A
- 2:00Speaker 1: city bike is furious about that, losing the fortune. How
- 2:04Speaker 1: are the streets and forest hills?
- 2:06Speaker 2: They're good, you know, the main streets that the thing
- 2:08Speaker 2: is on the side streets you have just you know,
- 2:10Speaker 2: because people clearing out the driveways. When they clear out
- 2:13Speaker 2: the driveways, these big mountains of snow in the string,
- 2:16Speaker 2: huge mountains it's just going to stay there until it mounts,
- 2:20Speaker 2: you know.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Yeah, And all right.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Well fortunately we have a driveway.
- 2:27Speaker 1: All right, Well thanks for calling Walter. Yeah, you got
- 2:30Speaker 1: another other problem is Friday night into Saturday morning, you
- 2:34Speaker 1: could have one inch of snow. It's not going to
- 2:36Speaker 1: be much, but it could be some snow Friday night
- 2:40Speaker 1: into Saturday morning, up to about one inch. If you're way,
- 2:43Speaker 1: way way out in Long Island, you could get over
- 2:46Speaker 1: an inch. But the other problem is sad Friday night
- 2:49Speaker 1: Saturday is going to be extremely cold, worse than what
- 2:53Speaker 1: you've been through in the last seventeen days. Friday night,
- 2:56Speaker 1: Saturday Saturday night may be the single coldest day and
- 2:59Speaker 1: night of the entire winter. But then next week it
- 3:03Speaker 1: goes back into the thirties. That should get back to normal.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Let's go to Paul in Boston. Paul, how you doing?
- 3:10Speaker 2: Bye? Mock, mock, Why don't you have He's trying to say,
- 3:13Speaker 2: is how.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Break? We can't take your call anymore? No more Paul
- 3:21Speaker 1: from Boston ever ever Again, that's the same call from yesterday.
- 3:25Speaker 1: He's talking about some listener nobody ever heard of. So uh,
- 3:29Speaker 1: no more Paul from Boston. You're done Paul. You can call,
- 3:31Speaker 1: but won't We won't put you on the air anymore. Yeah. So, yeah,
- 3:38Speaker 1: it's not even a Paul from Boston. They just changed
- 3:41Speaker 1: their voice. The problem is, if you want to do
- 3:44Speaker 1: that kind of stuff, you got to get rid of
- 3:47Speaker 1: the accent. You know, when you got that accent, everybody
- 3:49Speaker 1: can recognize your voice instantly. You can't fool anybody. That's
- 3:53Speaker 1: the problem. Hey, the super Bowl is Sunday, so you
- 3:57Speaker 1: might want to bear that in mind. If you're going
- 3:59Speaker 1: to a super Bowl party that kind of stuff, you're
- 4:01Speaker 1: going to overeat like crazy. You might want to plan
- 4:04Speaker 1: ahead the very little eating on Saturday. Eat real light
- 4:07Speaker 1: Friday and Saturday. Get ready for that. Hey, the Milania movie,
- 4:12Speaker 1: the Milania documentary, it's out there. It's in theaters. You
- 4:15Speaker 1: can go see it. You know, it's the number two
- 4:17Speaker 1: film in America right now. I know if you read
- 4:20Speaker 1: all the left wing fake news media. Though it's not
- 4:22Speaker 1: doing well, it's a blow what day it's about not
- 4:25Speaker 1: reaching the It's the number two film in America right now.
- 4:30Speaker 1: If you take the list of the top grossing films,
- 4:33Speaker 1: it's number two for the week. Number two. That's that's huge,
- 4:38Speaker 1: huge for a documentary. It's made over ten million dollars already.
- 4:43Speaker 1: The only problem with it they there's a theater in Oregon.
- 4:46Speaker 1: You know, Oregon's like a left wing kook kind of
- 4:49Speaker 1: a place. So you know it's Amazon. Amazon's behind the
- 4:53Speaker 1: Milania movie. So it was playing in a big theater,
- 4:56Speaker 1: and apparently the local employees at the theater, remember the
- 5:00Speaker 1: they all left wing kooks out there, put terrible things
- 5:03Speaker 1: on the marquee. It had the title to the film,
- 5:06Speaker 1: but then they put these insulting things about Milania on
- 5:09Speaker 1: the marquee next to the title. So Amazon has pulled
- 5:13Speaker 1: the film out of that theater. Now I think that's it.
- 5:18Speaker 1: I'll just pull the film and leave the theater alone.
- 5:20Speaker 1: But when you're a movie theater, you need to do
- 5:23Speaker 1: business with Amazon with a lot of films. So it's
- 5:26Speaker 1: a big mistake. You've seen this happen. We're local employees
- 5:29Speaker 1: go nuts. Remember that Hilton in Minnesota where they refuse
- 5:33Speaker 1: to allow Ice agents to stay there, even though they
- 5:36Speaker 1: had a reservation. They turned them away. Hilton fired the hotel,
- 5:40Speaker 1: they took their name off it. They you know, when
- 5:43Speaker 1: you become build a nice hotel, you make a deal
- 5:45Speaker 1: with Hilton to put the name all over it, promote it,
- 5:48Speaker 1: run it, call it to Hilton. So Hilton walked away
- 5:51Speaker 1: from this local hotel. So now these guys have a
- 5:55Speaker 1: blank hotel with no name, no help from Hilton, no
- 5:58Speaker 1: use of Hilton's reservation service or anything. So it's a
- 6:01Speaker 1: mess for them. Hey, when we come back the hunt
- 6:05Speaker 1: for Steve Moore, we hope we'll be talking to him next.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Steve Moore coming up, the great economist, lots to talk
- 6:11Speaker 1: to him about, and we'll do that in just a second.
- 6:13Speaker 1: On seven to ten, wor
