  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, clean sheets are always nice.

  SPEAKER_02: Um you weren't blessed with much luck personally on Saturday, were you?

  SPEAKER_01: Uh it it's one of them you can't really can't really do anything about it.

  SPEAKER_01: Like if I had that situation 20 more times, I'd be in the exact same position.

  SPEAKER_01: So it's just one of them that it happens as a goalie, I suppose.

  SPEAKER_02: And the the the chaos in the in the in injury time, I mean, how did you reflect on the penalty that was given to Birmingham?

  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it was a bit of it was a frustrating one.

  SPEAKER_01: I felt like we were on top for for large parts of the game.

  SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, it's one it's one of them.

  SPEAKER_01: We actually we we looked back, we looked back at it before the games.

  SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, we were actually undecided on which way he would go.

  SPEAKER_01: But then uh yeah, went the right way.

  SPEAKER_02: So I think after after Nil Wool, um a lot of people were fancy in Birmingham.

  SPEAKER_02: So I mean, result aside, how pleased were you with the positive performance?

  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, really it was a it was a good performance, wasn't it?

  SPEAKER_01: We're on top for for really large parts of the game.

  SPEAKER_02: Did you have any idea that what Dom did with with the goal from your vantage?

  SPEAKER_01: Not really, I couldn't really see what had happened.

  SPEAKER_01: I didn't really know how it had gone in.

  SPEAKER_01: It was one of them, like it's the first time I was saying the other day like that a goal looked better on TV.

  SPEAKER_01: It was unbelievable.

  SPEAKER_02: Because it's been a good week for him, hasn't he?

  SPEAKER_02: He was named the the League One PFA player of the year as well.

  SPEAKER_02: But just for his confidence for the for the team's confidence, you've signed this the striker and he he did that bit of magic.

  SPEAKER_02: It's got a lot of attention for him and city this this week.

  SPEAKER_01: Not a bad way for him to start, really, was it?

  SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, no, he's a great lad and he's he started to settle in really well.

  SPEAKER_02: And settling in, I asked you at the beginning how you're settling in.

  SPEAKER_02: I mean, you you were at Wigan your your whole career, so just taught me back from the summer and coming to Bristol City.

  SPEAKER_02: Was it was it an easy decision?

  SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, it a bit of sweet sort of thing, because I've obviously been at Wigan that long, but I think Bristol City was the right um the right club for me to come along to.

  SPEAKER_02: Am I right in saying that you obviously were at Wigan as a youngster, you were released by Wigan and then they they re-signed you.

  SPEAKER_02: So was there a time when you thought that maybe you weren't gonna make it, or did it just give you the determination that you'd prove them wrong if you like that?

  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it was one of them.

  SPEAKER_01: I just loved I just loved playing football, so I didn't really know like what the consequences were sort of thing when I was released.

  SPEAKER_01: I just wanted to go and play football, so I ended up going to sort of Pilkington step seven in the in the pyramid for a year, and then now I'm in the champ, so it's not a bad uh a bad little rise, I don't think.

  SPEAKER_02: I think you were in the League One team of the year last year.

  SPEAKER_02: So um what kind of goalkeeper of Bristol City sign?

  SPEAKER_02: And I reference Warsaw, I mean, is that something that you pride yourselves on?

  SPEAKER_02: And these days, goalkeepers not just about saving shots, but it's about the distribution as well, isn't it?

  SPEAKER_02: So is that something you've worked on during your career?

  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.

  SPEAKER_01: I've worked on it a lot as well since I've come along to Bristol City, the way the gaff wants to play, with me um sort of stepping in a bit more.

  SPEAKER_01: So yeah, I've enjoyed it.

  SPEAKER_02: Tough league the championship, isn't it?

  SPEAKER_02: What are your hopes for Bristol City this season?

  SPEAKER_02: I mean we we talk about a three-year plan, but you must go into every game thinking you can win and every season thinking you can challenge for promotion.

  SPEAKER_01: It's one of them like we just want to go into every game thinking we can win and see, I suppose, where we can go in the table.

  SPEAKER_02: Has anything surprised you about Bristol City?

  SPEAKER_02: I mean the atmosphere pre-Milwall was one of the loudest atmospheres I can remember.

  SPEAKER_02: There seems to be a bit of a buzz about the place on and off the pitch.

  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, a lot of new signings, um, new staff as well.

  SPEAKER_01: But um hopefully it'll be an exciting season.

  SPEAKER_02: And you've got Portsmouth on Saturday.

  SPEAKER_02: What are you expecting in Ashton Gate this weekend?

  SPEAKER_01: I think everyone like sort of look into that, and then once we get that we'll just roll on from there.

  SPEAKER_00: You're one of the new faces, but in terms of the squad, you've actually probably been here quite a bit longer than a few of the new arrivals.

  SPEAKER_00: You've obviously faced a fair few of especially the strikers, I imagine Lauren and Dom last last season as well.

  SPEAKER_00: He's obviously been around the group for a lot of a lot of the summer sort of personality with the city of Son.

  SPEAKER_01: Um obviously came in at the start of pre-season.

  SPEAKER_01: Um, I don't really know the ins and out of what's happened, but you know, he's signed now, so it's another positive sign for us.

  SPEAKER_00: That's a different dimension, I think, to that front line as well.

  SPEAKER_00: I know it's a long way away from you on the pitch, but if someone you can look to hit as well.

  SPEAKER_00: Um you I asked you about step up to the championship.

  SPEAKER_00: Anything kind of surprised you know, when we spoke the other week, you said you know, goalkeeping's kind of goalkeeping whatever level you play at.

  SPEAKER_01: Has there been anything that you've kind of sort of caught you out a little bit or uh I think it's just the speed, like like I was saying the other week, sort of goalkeeping is always the same no matter what level, it's just the players are quicker, the shots are faster, everything just happens quicker.

  SPEAKER_00: And so like you'll start to the season, you feel like you made that step well because I think despite the results not being well, you and collect started, especially the performance on Saturday, really impressive.

  SPEAKER_01: No, I've felt personally um I've started quite well.

  SPEAKER_01: Got a had unlucky obviously with a goal at Birmingham.

  SPEAKER_01: Uh but yeah, there's not much you can do about that.

  SPEAKER_01: Um but the team as well, I think that it's been real progressive.

  SPEAKER_00: What have you made of him having him ahead of you?

  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, another great guy, um, great defender.

  SPEAKER_01: It's just it's just yeah, it's just gonna take time for everyone to gel together, really.

  SPEAKER_00: What sort of test are you expecting from Portsmouth in particular Saturday?

  SPEAKER_00: They've obviously been in the division for a fair while now.

  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, um experienced obviously.

  SPEAKER_01: I mean every game's sort of similar, so just take it each one at a time and try and win.
