Spokane’s neighborhoods are heating up—some hotter than others by as much as 14 degrees—thanks to a lack of shade trees, which impacts health, property values, and infrastructure. But there’s a cool solution: SpoCanopy and CoolCanopy are teaming up to plant free, mature shade trees across the city and county. SpoCanopy targets parking strips in underserved areas, while CoolCanopy plants directly in yards.
