- 0:01Good morning. How many of you would like to build a stronger sense of self?
- 0:06I'm Kimberly Boyd and welcome to Candid Coach Conversations.
- 0:10Today I have with me Teresa Anderson,
- 0:12a certified Live Life Flay coach and author of The Table.
- 0:16And today we are going to be talking about building a stronger sense of self.
- 0:21Good morning, Teresa. I'm so glad you're here.
- 0:23Good morning, Kimberly. Thank you for having me.
- 0:26Yes.
- 0:28So today we're talking about building a stronger sense of self.
- 0:32And I'd love for you to kick us off.
- 0:35Like what comes
- 0:36Mm-hmm.
- 0:36to mind when you hear that phrase,
- 0:39building a stronger sense of self?
- 0:41I'm definitely a questions girl.
- 0:43So my mom called me a why child as a as a young person.
- 0:47So it's
- 0:47~
- 0:49like, why are you always asking why?
- 0:51Right? So I think for me, a set of questions usually comes to mind immediately.
- 0:56It's almost like who am I, what role am I performing?
- 0:59Am I performing a role? Or am I fulfilling a role for someone else?
- 1:04Can I separate who I am from what I do for people?
- 1:08~ can I identify the value?
- 1:10That belong solely to me? Do I recognize where I've adapted myself to belong?
- 1:16Please perform, behave on somebody else's behalf,
- 1:20essentially. Just really learning to hear my own voice beneath everyone else's
- 1:24opinions, I think is kind of where mine mind goes immediately.
- 1:30So I'm super curious, if you were mentoring somebody and they said,
- 1:34Hey Teresa, like how can I build a stronger sense of self for myself?
- 1:40Like what are some things you would tell them?
- 1:42I think
- 1:42we would have to get really clear on their values because a lot of
- 1:45the times people believe that they have a set of values,
- 1:48but once you start really breaking down like this is so this is what you believe,
- 1:52you wouldn't do anything else,
- 1:54you wouldn't make another choice or a different decision in this motive.
- 1:58you really start to see that a lot of their values are based
- 2:01on somebody else's beliefs. And so I think you really have to get down
- 2:05to their foundational beliefs and what their foundational values are.
- 2:08And for me, I there's like a tree that I like to use.
- 2:12I really like to like center in on like spirituality,
- 2:15like things that are easy for them to really kind of hone in on.
- 2:19What are your spiritual beliefs?
- 2:20What are your religious beliefs?
- 2:22What are your faith factors? Right.
- 2:24And when once we get them talking about what they really truly believe.
- 2:27then you quickly start to see that some of the scales of everybody else's beliefs
- 2:32start to fall off. And you can really center in on what their values are.
- 2:36And so that's where I would personally start the conversation.
- 2:40beautiful. So and I love that you brought up values because that is something
- 2:44for me when it was talking when I first started working with a coach years ago,
- 2:49it came up like building a stronger sense of self and really gaining clarity about
- 2:54what it is that I wanted, what was I working toward,
- 2:57how was I going to achieve whatever it was.
- 2:59And I did, I had to get clear on the values.
- 3:03Something that pops up for me often,
- 3:06like as a core value, is honesty and trust.
- 3:09Mm.
- 3:10And so and it's simple things,
- 3:12but then I say simple, and for some,
- 3:15maybe it's not so simple. I don't know.
- 3:17but like doing what I tell myself I'm gonna do.
- 3:21If I say I'm going to I would never say this,
- 3:25but if I were to somehow one day say I'm gonna go jogging in the morning.
- 3:28I would never say that either.
- 3:29So if anyone ever says I said that,
- 3:31y'all don't believe it, okay?
- 3:33Yeah, don't believe it at all for me either,
- 3:34because nope.
- 3:35but let's just say that I s I don't know how come jogging even came
- 3:38to mind because that is not something I would say.
- 3:40And if I said, Okay, tomorrow morning I'm gonna get up and I'm gonna go jogging,
- 3:43and since honesty is such a big deal to me,
- 3:46then I wanna be able to trust myself to do the things I said I'm going to do.
- 3:51Mm-hmm.
- 3:52And same with talking about it with other people.
- 3:54If I say, yes, I'll get XYZ to you by Tuesday,
- 3:59then by golly, I need to do it by Tuesday.
- 4:01I don't need to say, ~ shoot, all this stuff came up because I do think
- 4:07it creates a stronger sense of self when we do follow through and do
- 4:10the things we say we're going
- 4:11to do. I think I'm rambling.
- 4:12Yes.
- 4:13I got jogging stuck in my brain,
- 4:15so
- 4:15Yeah.
- 4:17Yeah.
- 4:18I love that idea too, because I think when you're practicing that,
- 4:21maybe that's not so easy, right?
- 4:22Maybe it's not easy to keep your word.
- 4:24Maybe you're kinda the person that's like tends to people please a little bit.
- 4:27So you'll say yes to things when you really need to say no.
- 4:30You'll l overload your schedule in a way that at the time at you start walking that
- 4:36out, you can't actually meet all of those demands.
- 4:40And so then you have to slowly start letting people down.
- 4:43And so I
- 4:43Mm-hmm.
- 4:44think practicing like low stake choices,
- 4:47you know.
- 4:47Pulling like five people, right?
- 4:50Like, what do you think I could practice that's just about me
- 4:55in this particular sphere of our lives?
- 4:58So maybe it's with your spouse,
- 4:59you know. Maybe you pull them aside and say,
- 5:01Hey, what are some things that you really notice that I love?
- 5:04What are some things about me that you notice that I do consecutively?
- 5:07Right? And see what they say and see if you can stay active to those choices
- 5:12and those decisions for yourself and really get clear on is this
- 5:16A part of my sense of self, or is this something that I've been practicing
- 5:19for other people? Because sometimes it takes a little bit
- 5:22of an exploratory experience to find our values,
- 5:26to know whether or not this is really connected to me,
- 5:29or if this is connected to my idea of being a mom,
- 5:32or my idea of being a wife, or my idea or role of being a coworker.
- 5:37and so I think that's where we get to really kind of play with the idea
- 5:40of the sense of self and figure out what really is just me and not.
- 5:45Some ideal that I've built.
- 5:47Okay, so when you're saying to take a poll from five people,
- 5:51Yeah.
- 5:51you're saying, okay, what is it about me or something that you've noticed about
- 5:55me that I do pretty consistently or consecutively?
- 5:57That'd
- 5:58Mm-hmm.
- 5:59be one question. And then the other one you said was what what is something that
- 6:03you think I really like? Is that what I heard?
- 6:06Yeah, what is something that
- 6:07you you find you hear me say that I'm passionate about?
- 6:11Okay, gosh, what if all five people say something different?
- 6:15Well then I
- 6:15would be wondering if are all of those five things my passions,
- 6:19right? And
- 6:19~ yes.
- 6:20then I would say, okay, or is it just depending on who I'm talking to?
- 6:25Right? Because I think that's
- 6:25Mm-hmm.
- 6:26kind of the experience there, or the experiment rather,
- 6:30is does it change? Do my values change depending on who I'm speaking to?
- 6:36Because then I think maybe it's not about you and it's about them.
- 6:40Okay, tell me what you mean. Tell me more.
- 6:43I mean, if I'm speaking to my boss and all of a sudden my values are being
- 6:47on time and time management and doing this and doing that,
- 6:51but I don't speak that way in any other sphere in my life,
- 6:54is that actually
- 6:54God thank you.
- 6:56a value or is that just pendant on who I'm speaking to?
- 7:00Got it. Okay. Yeah. Okay,
- 7:02Yeah.
- 7:03good. And that's such a good example too.
- 7:05Yeah, it's a good example. 'Cause I do
- 7:07Ha ha
- 7:08I think it goes back to maybe it's not as strong of a value and maybe
- 7:13you do have that value for time and consistency,
- 7:18but
- 7:18it shows up differently.
- 7:18Mm-hmm.
- 7:20Absolutely.
- 7:21I think, and that's the beauty of it too.
- 7:23And also in that polling of people,
- 7:26right? What you could also be practicing is choices.
- 7:29So I'm gonna choose to do this one thing with this person.
- 7:32Because a lot of the times, sometimes if we get back to the people pleasing
- 7:36and the boundaries, which I think boundaries and people pleasing are gonna come
- 7:39up a lot in your self-talk, also your ~ beliefs of self.
- 7:44And so, like who is my genuine sense of self is gonna have to have some parameters
- 7:49around it, right? So we can't get out of this.
- 7:51conversation without talking boundaries and then some of the weaknesses like people
- 7:55pleasing and things like that.
- 7:56Because we really do have to determine,
- 7:59is this something that is true to me and that I really want to hone in
- 8:02and focus on so that I can propel my future in a way or is this something that
- 8:07I'm doing that's actually wasting my time,
- 8:09right?
- 8:09done.
- 8:10Yes.
- 8:11Yeah. And
- 8:12so when we get to polling these people,
- 8:14we can kind of like formulate some choices there too.
- 8:17Like, you know, my husband always wants me to go for a walk with him,
- 8:21but I don't really want to go for a walk with him every day.
- 8:24What if I did that once or twice a week instead of five days a week?
- 8:28And then I did something for myself the other three days,
- 8:31right? So almost like in a safe space,
- 8:33start really trying to decide for yourself what do you want those days to look like?
- 8:39And I think you can also use that like
- 8:40small group of people to really self-explore what is my sense of self
- 8:45in regards to some of my daily features as well.
- 8:48Not just like who I am as a person and what what makes my soul happy,
- 8:52but more so who am I on a daily basis?
- 8:56Like what do I want to practice that really feels in alignment with who I am.
- 9:01Yeah, I love that. So beautiful.
- 9:03Which makes me think of your book,
- 9:05The Table. And
- 9:06Mm.
- 9:07so when I think about and I want to hear from you,
- 9:10obviously. when I think about the table and all the words that you have
- 9:15put into that book and the time and the effort and the energy,
- 9:18I mean like real dedication and thinking about this building a higher sense of self.
- 9:25~ or stronger sense of self.
- 9:27Mm-hmm.
- 9:28How does the table help people do that?
- 9:32I would say the table is such a good piece in sense of self because
- 9:38it really activates like parts work.
- 9:41And what I mean by parts work is sometimes we walk through our lives
- 9:44and we play different roles. And in those roles,
- 9:47we become different versions of ourselves.
- 9:49And sometimes those roles they stick around a little bit longer than they need to.
- 9:54And maybe they even govern parts of our lives that we don't necessarily need them
- 9:58to govern anymore. Almost like rubble.
- 10:01The protector, right? So am I still showing up super protected
- 10:06and protective in every sphere of my life?
- 10:09Or, you know, can I take the armor off?
- 10:11And can I just sit and allow protection to show up when it needs to?
- 10:15And know that I have the bandwidth for protection.
- 10:18but also, is it serving me to be hyper protective in every interpersonal connection
- 10:23that I have? Or is it working against me and it's actually being driven
- 10:28by an insecurity that I haven't addressed?
- 10:30Dressed, right? And so the table is really good for a sense
- 10:34of self-activation because it kind of moves you through the the the parts
- 10:37of you that maybe we've got to put to bed or they we need to put them on a timer.
- 10:42Like this person shows up only in these spaces.
- 10:46You know, I need a a rubble when someone's messing with my kid and Mama Bear shows
- 10:50up, right?
- 10:51Yeah.
- 10:51Like I want, I want rebel in that space.
- 10:54But
- 10:54Bull four.
- 10:57One thousand percent
- 10:59Yeah.
- 10:59but maybe I don't need her everywhere,
- 11:02you know.
- 11:03So something that poc I've read the table now a couple times.
- 11:06Well, several, not a couple, because couple is two,
- 11:08Thank you.
- 11:08and I've read it more than
- 11:09twice. so then I guess what's coming up for me is and I don't know,
- 11:13tell me if I need to just hush.
- 11:15like for readers to read it one time,
- 11:18like read it one time through.
- 11:20With j open mind, open heart, be still,
- 11:23read it one time through, then
- 11:24Mm-hmm.
- 11:25go back and read it again.
- 11:28With a look inside.
- 11:30Like who
- 11:30Yes.
- 11:31am I relating to? Or what part of me is being activated when I read about Rebel?
- 11:37What experiences have I had in my life where I didn't even know that Rebel
- 11:42was there? And wow,
- 11:43Mm.
- 11:44there Rebel is. And then take time and read it a third time.
- 11:49at least I would say a third time.
- 11:51To I guess really hone in, like
- 11:55on the different characters or the different parts in the book,
- 11:58relate it to themselves and then find their own healing within.
- 12:03What do think? Like it's a different kind of read for sure.
- 12:04I think that's beautiful.
- 12:08I mean, I'm super excited that you read it three times anyway.
- 12:11I love that.
- 12:11Okay.
- 12:11Thank you so much. I love you.
- 12:13You are amazing. Everybody, I hope you read the table three times.
- 12:17Yeah,
- 12:18at least I at least because I do think you have to read it one time through
- 12:22for the story and the second time for a better understanding and then relating
- 12:27and then that third time to really okay,
- 12:29yeah, I've never had this part or dang it,
- 12:32this part has been here and this is the part that I want to be more present.
- 12:38Yes.
- 12:38I do
- 12:38it takes like three for your brain and your heart and your p body
- 12:42to like really grasp it all.
- 12:44I love that. And actually that's something s several readers said to me,
- 12:48like when they left little notes on things,
- 12:50they said, It's a book that I'm gonna read over and over again.
- 12:54And I think the beauty of that is like knowing who is at your table,
- 12:58right? What parts of me have I developed throughout life?
- 13:01What did they believe then? What do they believe now?
- 13:05What are they protecting? What strengths do they carry?
- 13:08How much of that do I wanna carry into the present day,
- 13:11into the future self? And
- 13:13Do I know what I want now? Do I know that I feel different or that I,
- 13:17you know, I've healed these particular areas?
- 13:19And if not, then maybe I do need to call a counselor or go into something like that.
- 13:23But if I've done all of that work and I'm ready to move and manifest
- 13:27the future self, well then maybe I need to call a coach.
- 13:30Right? Maybe I need to get into a coaching experience where someone
- 13:34can really help me define for myself who am I in the future?
- 13:39Who do I want to be sitting across if I was sitting across from my future self?
- 13:43Yes.
- 13:43And I
- 13:43mean, I think I love that we developed the community reclaiming yourself because
- 13:47I do think it is a sense of self-community.
- 13:50It is really gravitating towards who are you,
- 13:53who do you want to be, what have you been in the past,
- 13:56who have you been in the past?
- 13:57You know, paying them grace and love and honor because you needed that version
- 14:03of yourself to be in existence at that time for the multiplicity of reasons that
- 14:08it arised within you. And I think that is a beautiful thing.
- 14:13And we're not gonna shame or disclaim or dishonor that.
- 14:16We're gonna honor it. We're gonna love every version of ourselves.
- 14:19And then we're gonna ask, what were you teaching me?
- 14:22And what can I carry forward? And who do I wanna be now?
- 14:25And that's the shift towards the future or to the present,
- 14:29right?
- 14:31Right. my gosh, yes. So love to the
- 14:33future and absolutely to the present.
- 14:36Yes. And I love that you brought up the community.
- 14:38Okay, so for people that are listening that don't know,
- 14:41we have the Live Life Fully Club.
- 14:43The information can be found on the website at llfully.com.
- 14:47But we have the Live Life Fully Club.
- 14:48And within the club, each club member has access to different communities.
- 14:53So Teresa has her community. I have a community with my Lee.
- 14:58It's called Life Accelerator Community.
- 15:00Has a community for Live Life Fully Motherhood.
- 15:02Shantae has a community, level up,
- 15:05Guadalupe has a community called Get Out of Your Own Way.
- 15:08So within the club, there's all these different communities,
- 15:11and each community goes live once a month.
- 15:14And if you can't make it to the live,
- 15:16not a big deal. All calls are recorded,
- 15:19and you have your own access to the portal where you can access all the communities.
- 15:24So as Teresa was saying, yes, she developed a community within the club.
- 15:29And she takes a monthly deep dive into basically this whole topic,
- 15:34which I didn't think about when we started today,
- 15:36about building a stronger sense of self.
- 15:41And so yeah, definitely,
- 15:45definitely fabulous.
- 15:48Yes, I hope you guys will all join us.
- 15:50It's every third Monday of the month at noon.
- 15:53And if you can't, the sessions are recorded,
- 15:55but all of these communities are amazing.
- 15:58And so I would take a gander and just be a part of all of them if you
- 16:02can at some point or another. Not that you have to do that weekly or monthly,
- 16:06but at least when you
- 16:07Ha
- 16:07can. But I do
- 16:08Yeah.
- 16:09love the idea of the sense of self-connecting to the table because I do think
- 16:12for me that's where a lot of it rose was really getting clear on naming my values,
- 16:19separating roles from identities,
- 16:21you know.
- 16:21Finding the borrowed pieces. Like,
- 16:23what do I believe about myself today that's not showing up in my actions?
- 16:29Right? This nurturing, curious,
- 16:32adventurous, creative person that I genuinely feel that I am,
- 16:36is she showing up on a daily basis?
- 16:39And the answer was no.
- 16:42She was not. And so I had to get more intentional about living
- 16:47a life where the nurturing, the curious,
- 16:51the adventurous, the creative spark in me could actually have a place daily
- 16:55to exist. And sometimes that was in journaling and sometimes that was
- 16:59in riding a bike with my kids.
- 17:01And other days it was taking off and going to the beach and sitting on
- 17:04a lawn chair there just looking at the ocean.
- 17:06It just depends on what it what it is in the week or what the week calls for or
- 17:12And then checking in with me, right?
- 17:13What do I really need today? Sometimes it's lighting a candle like
- 17:17we talked about last time or blowing bubbles at the car,
- 17:20right? It's finding the thing that you need in the moment to feel like that most
- 17:25authentic version of yourself.
- 17:27it and it really does not have to mean you've got to go spend tons of money each
- 17:33day or each week. And I think that's a lot of times where people they miss that.
- 17:37They think it's got to be this big huge ordeal and it could be sitting
- 17:41out on your porch listening to the birds chirp.
- 17:44Absolutely.
- 17:45It's all it's the currency of time is really what it takes.
- 17:49And I think that's why people feel like it costs them so much money.
- 17:52Because it's not really money,
- 17:54it's time, it's consistency. It's loving yourself enough that you will choose
- 18:00to do the thing that you need to do on a weekly basis that helps you build
- 18:04and put your oxygen mask on before you put the oxygen masks of others on,
- 18:09like they tell us in the plane,
- 18:10right? It's exactly that piece.
- 18:13It's choosing you.
- 18:15It's time currency, is what it is.
- 18:17And I think we have to get more comfortable with the time currency portion
- 18:21of prioritizing ourselves. Because when we do that,
- 18:24we only get better and bigger for others.
- 18:28We now have the room, and the cup isn't overflow,
- 18:32the cup is overflowing, but in a way that's more beautiful and not in
- 18:36a way where it's like, my gosh,
- 18:37I gotta stuff this all back in and try to get my life right,
- 18:40you know.
- 18:41Exactly. Yes. Right. my gosh, that's funny.
- 18:45And I had a actualization
- 18:45Ha ha.
- 18:46that occurred. Let me get my life right.
- 18:48Wait. Let's
- 18:50cover that up real quick.
- 18:52We I mean I think it's good to build self-trust in that way too.
- 18:56Like make small promises to yourself and keep them.
- 18:58Self-trust grows through evidence.
- 19:01You need evidence, but in order to do that,
- 19:04you have to make the decision to self-trust.
- 19:06And that looks like saying, I have five minutes to light a candle or twenty
- 19:12to take an Epsom salt bath. I have twenty minutes to start working on this goal that
- 19:17I have, even if it's in the beginning stages,
- 19:20right?
- 19:21I mean the table was probably written three times before it was actually written.
- 19:25And then even after it was written,
- 19:27I still took out like a hundred and ten pages.
- 19:30So there's always room for really narrowing down your vision.
- 19:36And you've got to give yourself space and time to do that.
- 19:39It doesn't have to
- 19:39Like
- 19:40be this linear experience. Yeah,
- 19:42it can it can look a little a little different.
- 19:45It can have 30 minutes one day and 15 the next.
- 19:48It can change and expand as needed.
- 19:52Yeah. And I'm glad
- 19:54that you brought up linear because like when we really stop and think about it,
- 19:57I'm like, is there anything linear?
- 20:02Really? Like really. If I'm doing something
- 20:05I don't know, like even emptying the dishwasher.
- 20:08I can be emptying the dishwasher and a timer go off,
- 20:12a song start playing, a phone call comes in,
- 20:15a dog barks, whatever. My dishwashing dishwasher emptying experience
- 20:21is not linear. It's got like these little blip blip blip things.
- 20:25Right? So now I'm like,
- 20:26Yeah.
- 20:27is there anything in life that's really linear?
- 20:29I don't know.
- 20:31I don't know, that's hard. I mean,
- 20:32maybe maybe for certain types of brains,
- 20:35right? 'Cause I know certain types of brains will operate and they need they need
- 20:39consistency and the idea of linear experiences.
- 20:42But I think the average person is gonna ebb and flow through most
- 20:47of life's occurrences. Yeah.
- 20:50'Cause even with consistency, I'm like,
- 20:52mm, I'm pretty consistent on a lot of things.
- 20:57Mm.
- 20:57Might be a touch of something.
- 20:59but I still don't even know if
- 20:59Maybe.
- 21:00that means it's linear. I don't know.
- 21:03Now I'm gonna have to do this deep dive into where what in life is actually linear.
- 21:07This is what I'm gonna do this afternoon.
- 21:08Cause now my
- 21:09Yes.
- 21:10brain is stuck on that.
- 21:13Anyway, that is Kiberly's research for this afternoon is linear and writing it down.
- 21:18~
- 21:19Mm.
- 21:19my gosh. Yeah.
- 21:20And I think too
- 21:21on that point, like a strong sense of self isn't rigidity.
- 21:24It's like I can change my mind without losing myself,
- 21:28you know.
- 21:28my gosh, yes. Say that again. Hmm.
- 21:31Yeah, and I can change my mind without losing the plan.
- 21:35I can
- 21:35change my mind without losing the behavior modification.
- 21:39There's just changing your mind is not the problem.
- 21:42The problem is when we we get stuck in the idea that we have to do it a certain way,
- 21:48it's better to be open to the diversity of thought because who knows,
- 21:53maybe this next thought that you have is actually way better of an idea than your
- 21:58primary thought. So being expansive enough not to hold yourself to
- 22:03a rigid scale when it comes
- 22:05to the evolution of a sense of self.
- 22:08So good. Let the rigidity go. She might be speaking
- 22:12Ha ha ha
- 22:14to my OCD, y'all. Maybe.
- 22:17I know.
- 22:17gosh.
- 22:18Speaking OCD, I did have a professor in school when I was working
- 22:21on my master's degree. Great man,
- 22:24super hard, but he was like because I would like tease about my OCD and Kimberly,
- 22:30you know, a touch of OCD is not a bad thing,
- 22:32especially in grad school. Like you need it to anyway,
- 22:36so I hold on to his words.
- 22:38Yeah, and I don't think it is always a bad thing.
- 22:41I have people close to me that I always remind them like there is a gift in that.
- 22:45You know, sometimes it can cause other issues and you can create
- 22:49Sure.
- 22:50systems for that, but it's there is a d a gift in it.
- 22:55And let the original
- 22:56go.
- 22:57You gotta let the rigidity go.
- 22:58Yeah. And I think the beauty too there is like practicing self-definition,
- 23:04right? Like so we move from people see me as toward I believe myself to be.
- 23:09And that is very different.
- 23:09Love it.
- 23:11Very different. Yeah.
- 23:13So I
- 23:13believe myself to be someone who can change her mind,
- 23:16for instance, talking about where we're at,
- 23:18right?
- 23:20Yes. As opposed
- 23:21Yeah.
- 23:23to
- 23:25As opposed to people see me as someone who has it all together all the time,
- 23:29who has the master plan every day.
- 23:32Love it. Yeah, that's huge. Very good.
- 23:34Right.
- 23:34And then that sense of self also allows for you to like shape shift some days.
- 23:38Like maybe you wake up with a cold or you don't feel well.
- 23:41You're not on your, you're not a 10 that day.
- 23:43A sense of self also has to hold and embody the idea that I need days to self-care.
- 23:50I need days where I'm gonna focus on like my healing or,
- 23:54you know, really be becoming a little bit more stable on my diet
- 23:58or the supplements that I need,
- 24:00getting to the doctor, doing things that may not actually fit in the schedule.
- 24:04But are just as important. If it were my child,
- 24:07I would get up, I would go, I would do it immediately.
- 24:09If they were running a fever, I'd be running out the door.
- 24:12But if it's me, I'm getting up,
- 24:16I'm figuring it out, I'm powering through,
- 24:18I'm mowing through my pain, and I'm showing up for everybody else instead
- 24:23of prioritizing that I need caldo and I need some sleep,
- 24:29probably, and maybe I need to go to the doctor,
- 24:32you know.
- 24:34So that rigidity, it doesn't always fit in the sphere of a sense
- 24:38of self because your sense of self is gonna occupy that space of you that's moving,
- 24:44like that you're intentionally listening to yourself as well
- 24:48as navigating your values.
- 24:51So good. Well, Teresa, so what do you want people's takeaway?
- 24:55Like if you had the wand and said it and today's takeaway
- 24:57what do you want people to leave here today considering,
- 25:01asking themselves, wondering about?
- 25:05I think for me it would be trust yourself,
- 25:08believe that what you know, feel,
- 25:11notice, and want are valid. Express yourself.
- 25:16Can you communicate truth without shrinking,
- 25:19performing, or over-explaining?
- 25:20And choose yourself.
- 25:24Make decisions consistent with who you are,
- 25:26even when there's discomfort for others.
- 25:30So beautiful. Yes. my gosh. I'm so glad you came on today and I look forward
- 25:36to you coming back again soon.
- 25:38I always love chatting with you and y'all again go read the table.
- 25:43Three times. Read the table and live life
- 25:45Read the table.
- 25:49fully and enjoy every moment. We'll see you soon.
