- 0:01Speaker 1: Hey, friends, before we get started, this is a Girl's
- 0:03Speaker 1: Gone Hallmark rewind episode, which means you're about to hear
- 0:06Speaker 1: us revisit an episode we've already aired. Maybe the movie
- 0:09Speaker 1: is airing again. Maybe we just loved this episode that much.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Either way, we think it's worth another listen. Enjoy. Hey everyone,
- 0:26Speaker 1: welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark, a Hallmark of You podcast.
- 0:30Speaker 1: I'm Megan, I'm Wendy. This episode is part of the
- 0:33Speaker 1: Girls Gone Hallmark summer series where we're watching and reviewing
- 0:36Speaker 1: fan favorite movies. Today, we're discussing wedding every Weekend, which
- 0:40Speaker 1: originally aired August fifteenth, twenty twenty, just prior to the
- 0:45Speaker 1: launch our podcast.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Oh yes, I thought you're gonna say, just prior to
- 0:50Speaker 2: the launch of the Pandemic.
- 0:51Speaker 1: No, no, no, deeply pandemic.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Yes, just prior to the launch of our podcast. That's right.
- 0:58Speaker 1: If you want to connect to us outside of the
- 0:59Speaker 1: Podcas Cass, we'd love for you to follow us on Instagram.
- 1:01Speaker 1: We are at Girls Gone Hamemark. You can always jump

- 1:17Speaker 1: Yeah, for anyone who's ever unclear, the girls and the
- 1:19Speaker 1: girls Gone Hamewark are us. We're not just only about
- 1:23Speaker 1: girls who are into Hallmark. Yes, I have so much
- 1:26Speaker 1: to say about this movie. Oh interesting? Should we start
- 1:31Speaker 1: with a synopsis and then let's sump into news and notes.
- 1:33Speaker 2: I love it. Let's go. Nate and Brooke are going
- 1:36Speaker 2: to the same four weddings, four weekends in a row.
- 1:40Speaker 2: To avoid setups, they go together as wedding buddies, but
- 1:44Speaker 2: what starts as a friendship soon becomes deeper. Stars Kimberly
- 1:48Speaker 2: Sstad and Paul Campbell.
- 1:50Speaker 1: So this was filmed in June and July twenty twenty,
- 1:53Speaker 1: as mentioned well, not to the pandemic. The COVID protocols
- 1:57Speaker 1: must have been bonkers at this time. They were deep
- 2:00Speaker 1: in the requiring two week hotel quarantines before filming and
- 2:05Speaker 1: all of that. I can only imagine how much they
- 2:07Speaker 1: would have had to do to make this movie regular testing,
- 2:11Speaker 1: can you imagine? And there's like a deep cast.
- 2:13Speaker 2: You've got all these weddings full of people. Okay, so
- 2:17Speaker 2: a couple thoughts. I'm trying to think back to June
- 2:20Speaker 2: and July of twenty twenty. My ass was still sitting
- 2:24Speaker 2: on the couch at home. I did not think that
- 2:27Speaker 2: work was being done anywhere at this point.
- 2:30Speaker 1: I think because they were filming in Canada. I think
- 2:33Speaker 1: that may have been one of the few places where
- 2:35Speaker 1: filming had resumed.
- 2:36Speaker 2: That really okay, Well, I did read that Canada's still
- 2:42Speaker 2: had at the time. Probably like you said, they have
- 2:44Speaker 2: probably had a quarantine, right, they had social distancing rules
- 2:48Speaker 2: in place, temperature checks, all that stuff. I read a
- 2:54Speaker 2: funny article now, side note, did you read this article
- 2:57Speaker 2: two about how they had mannequins.
- 2:59Speaker 1: No is the weddings? Yes, listen.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Paul Campbell told Media Village, which is like an entertainment outlet,
- 3:08Speaker 2: that they were the first production to film during phase
- 3:12Speaker 2: three of the opening, and he said that everybody wore masks,
- 3:16Speaker 2: they sanitized, and some people had to stay like within
- 3:18Speaker 2: their own departments. There was no like crossing over departments, right.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Some interior weddings were moved outdoors and everyone had morning
- 3:26Speaker 2: temperature checks. He added that about fifty percent of the
- 3:29Speaker 2: background performers are actually mannequins.
- 3:33Speaker 1: No way. I need to go back and rewatch this
- 3:38Speaker 1: and look at those wedding scenes when you see from
- 3:41Speaker 1: the back right, like the actual ceremony. Did you read
- 3:46Speaker 1: this before or after watching the movie. I read it
- 3:48Speaker 1: after I watched the movie. Oh no, I need to
- 3:51Speaker 1: watch it with that in mind. That's so funny. It's
- 3:55Speaker 1: so funny.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Do you think productions like, Okay, well we can't have
- 4:00Speaker 2: a huge cast of extras, so let's just get some
- 4:04Speaker 2: mannequins from the local department store. I don't know, like
- 4:08Speaker 2: when they had fake spectators during bake Mel games. My god,
- 4:14Speaker 2: is that crazy to think that that was life at
- 4:17Speaker 2: that time.
- 4:17Speaker 1: There was nobody in the stand except these cardboard cutouts
- 4:21Speaker 1: kind of behind home plate, and you could pay to
- 4:25Speaker 1: have a cardboard cut out of yourself, mate.
- 4:27Speaker 2: And they were pumping in like crowd noise into the stadiums. Yeah,
- 4:32Speaker 2: so wide.
- 4:33Speaker 1: And the basketball teams had like virtual fans and so
- 4:37Speaker 1: those images would move.
- 4:39Speaker 2: Oh I do remember that it has like a laughing
- 4:42Speaker 2: or clapping I did.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Wild. I sometimes think I need to sit down and
- 4:47Speaker 1: write down everything I remember, because some of it is
- 4:50Speaker 1: so wild to think about.
- 4:52Speaker 2: When our grandchildren are like what happened in twenty twenty.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Look at that cardboard cutout behind the Dodgers. That's how
- 5:00Speaker 1: baseball happened in twenty twenty.
- 5:02Speaker 2: Wow, so weird. For those who haven't watched the movie,
- 5:07Speaker 2: go back and watch it and look for the.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Mannekins with mannequins in mind. M Okay. This was written
- 5:13Speaker 1: by Julie Sherman Wolf, who has thirty three writing credits.
- 5:16Speaker 1: And if you don't know who Julie Sherman Wolf is,
- 5:18Speaker 1: yeah you do. She wrote a holiday spectacular Dickens of
- 5:22Speaker 1: a holiday, you Me and the Christmas trees taking a
- 5:25Speaker 1: shot at love. Hona khan Rye always a more and
- 5:28Speaker 1: she has the distinction of being the one and only
- 5:32Speaker 1: interview we have done to date on Girls Gone Hallmark. Yeah,
- 5:35Speaker 1: and you know what, she was so good. We're like, eh,
- 5:37Speaker 1: we've picked We're not gonna do this anymore. It's a
- 5:39Speaker 1: great episode. You should go back and give it a listen.
- 5:42Speaker 1: And she did us the great kindness of a having
- 5:46Speaker 1: listened to an episode we did about a movie she did,
- 5:48Speaker 1: and then answering some of our did you see that question?
- 5:50Speaker 2: Mm hmmm, Yeah, she was awesome. I want to also
- 5:54Speaker 2: note that, according to her IMDb, she has a upcoming
- 5:59Speaker 2: movie called field Day in the works. It's not exactly
- 6:04Speaker 2: clear if it's an Hallmark movie, but it is directed
- 6:07Speaker 2: by David Winning, who has directed a bunch of Hallmark movies,
- 6:11Speaker 2: and it stars some familiar Hallwark faces. So I'm guessing
- 6:16Speaker 2: field Day. Maybe it's gonna come out summertime. Could be.
- 6:20Speaker 2: This was directed by Kevin Fair, who has directed forty movies,
- 6:23Speaker 2: including Morning Show, Mysteries, We Need a Little Christmas, Always
- 6:27Speaker 2: a More, and Soccer Mom Madam. I always love it
- 6:34Speaker 2: when it's like Hallmark, Hallmark homwork and then there's.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Like a Lifetime in there. Yeah, they go a little dark.
- 6:39Speaker 2: But Soccer Mom Madam, it has Jaana Kramer in it.
- 6:43Speaker 2: I'm like, i'mnna have to look for it. Kind of
- 6:46Speaker 2: would be into watching it.
- 6:47Speaker 1: This movie stars Kimberly Sastad. She's a busy little bee.
- 6:50Speaker 1: She has starred in Game of Love, had a role
- 6:54Speaker 1: in Three Wise Men, and A Baby Lights Camera, Christmas,
- 6:57Speaker 1: North to Home, Nine Kittens of Christmas. Is also in
- 7:00Speaker 1: the process of co writing a movie with her co
- 7:03Speaker 1: star Paul Campbell. How do you know that?
- 7:06Speaker 2: Because she did an interview exciting Paul Campbell plays Nate
- 7:11Speaker 2: or Edgar. We last saw him in the Cases of
- 7:14Speaker 2: Mystery Lane. I've poked around IMDb. There's no new upcoming
- 7:19Speaker 2: projects listed there, but that doesn't mean anything. I'm hoping
- 7:22Speaker 2: we see like a summer fall or holiday movie from
- 7:26Speaker 2: mister Paul Campbell or another Cases of Mystery Lane. I
- 7:28Speaker 2: would be happy with too. That was a great role
- 7:30Speaker 2: for him.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Brandy Alexander plays best friend Jinny.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Haven't seen Brandy in a homework movie, so it's twenty
- 7:36Speaker 2: twenty one's Right in front of Me, which was also
- 7:38Speaker 2: written by Julie Sherman Wolf. I kind of had a
- 7:43Speaker 2: feeling like she was a big player on Homework.
- 7:45Speaker 1: And then she kind of just disappeared. I haven't seen
- 7:47Speaker 1: her in anything. Peter Benson plays Doctor Colin. He has
- 7:51Speaker 1: one hundred and fifty acting credits, but in the past
- 7:53Speaker 1: couple of years has really been getting more on the
- 7:56Speaker 1: directing game, with fourteen directing credits, most recently the Professional
- 7:59Speaker 1: Bride made. He also directed the one Wedding Theale movie
- 8:03Speaker 1: that Terry Ingram was not available for. He really gets
- 8:06Speaker 1: as girls Gone. Hallmark correspondent Mike sent us an email,
- 8:11Speaker 1: as he often does, and he's truly his memory. He's
- 8:15Speaker 1: like a vault for all of this Hallmark slash Hollywood information.
- 8:20Speaker 1: M hm. He says that he calls Peter bentson part
- 8:25Speaker 1: of the Hallmark Ralph Bellamy Club. I'm just gonna read
- 8:28Speaker 1: what he writes here, he says, which is to say
- 8:30Speaker 1: that he's one of the guys that always seems to
- 8:32Speaker 1: lose his girlfriend to the hero whichever movies he's in.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Ralph Bellamy was in a lot of movies in the
- 8:37Speaker 1: thirties and forties, and he was the schlub that lost
- 8:39Speaker 1: his girl to the male leads so often that it
- 8:41Speaker 1: became a joke in Hollywood even then.
- 8:44Speaker 2: I have no idea who Ralph Bellamy is. None never
- 8:48Speaker 2: even heard that name. I thought he was talking about
- 8:50Speaker 2: Bill Bellamy. That's what I was thinking of. Who Bill
- 8:53Speaker 2: Bellamy is.
- 8:54Speaker 1: The name's familiar.
- 8:56Speaker 2: He first gained national notoriety on Age Russell Simmons, a
- 9:01Speaker 2: deaf comedy jam Oh. He's credited for creating the phrase.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Booty call Okay. He was an MTVBJ for a long time.
- 9:11Speaker 1: One more regular Hallmark player is Jeff Gustafson, who plays
- 9:14Speaker 1: best friend Danny has eighty nine acting credits, including Get
- 9:17Speaker 1: Out Your Girls Gone, Hallmark Bingo cards, a role as
- 9:21Speaker 1: the dwarf Stealthy on Once upon a Time. Oh that's
- 9:25Speaker 1: a show I did not watch. He has a very
- 9:27Speaker 1: familiar face. Yes, I know he's been in a ton
- 9:29Speaker 1: of stuff.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Let's do first impressions. My first impression is you might
- 9:33Speaker 2: call me Campbell cested Stan.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Mine is No one told me Paul Campbell was gonna
- 9:40Speaker 1: make me cry? What cry?
- 9:43Speaker 2: When?
- 9:44Speaker 1: Well, they have that moment at the final wedding when
- 9:48Speaker 1: they're not saying the things that need and then when
- 9:51Speaker 1: they finally get back together and he like puts his
- 9:54Speaker 1: hand over his heart.
- 9:56Speaker 2: Paul Campbell.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, Oh no, I didn't cry. Tell me what
- 10:01Speaker 1: you liked about this movie. If I could have only one, okay,
- 10:04Speaker 1: if I could have only one like it would be
- 10:07Speaker 1: the hairtuck at the football field.
- 10:10Speaker 2: He heard this, Oh my god, when they were gonna
- 10:13Speaker 2: they were like faking it for their friends, but it
- 10:16Speaker 2: was real faking. Oh yeah, that was a good scene. Great,
- 10:19Speaker 2: that was a really good scene. What is with the
- 10:22Speaker 2: hairtuck lately? Look, it's so easy for dudes a hairtut guys,
- 10:26Speaker 2: that's all you gotta do. Forget the flowers, get the
- 10:30Speaker 2: wining and dining one tiny just brushing the bangs out
- 10:35Speaker 2: of somebody's eyes is all you have to do. That's it.
- 10:38Speaker 2: Is that truly the only thing you liked about this movie? No? No, no, oh,
- 10:42Speaker 2: okay okay. For me, there are some movies that I
- 10:44Speaker 2: know I'm going to like going into it, and it's
- 10:47Speaker 2: either because the actors or the writers, and then luckily
- 10:51Speaker 2: this movie has both of those.
- 10:53Speaker 1: That's at all. There's so many things to pull out
- 10:55Speaker 1: about this movie. Kimberly Sustad's dead pan humor kills it
- 11:00Speaker 1: in this movie, like when she looks at Nate's attempt
- 11:03Speaker 1: to kt tape his own knee and goes nail it.
- 11:05Speaker 1: I just, oh my god, it's amazing.
- 11:08Speaker 2: I'm telling you. She reminds me so much a Bonnie Hunt.
- 11:11Speaker 2: I can't shake it every time I see her on screen.
- 11:14Speaker 2: I enjoyed the zingers that they gave each other, especially
- 11:18Speaker 2: when it came to his bum knee because he was
- 11:20Speaker 2: being so stubborn about it. I like that Brooke broke
- 11:23Speaker 2: things off with her boyfriend because it just wasn't working out,
- 11:26Speaker 2: and that Colin was enough factor in the whole maybe
- 11:30Speaker 2: will they won't? They with meate And I think that
- 11:34Speaker 2: scene was really funny too when they were breaking up.
- 11:36Speaker 2: They're sitting at the table and she's like, we need
- 11:38Speaker 2: to talk and he goes us too, and then she
- 11:39Speaker 2: like fully is She's like, we need to break up.
- 11:41Speaker 1: But he didn't see it coming. Yeah, he was talking
- 11:43Speaker 1: about pizza. That was great. They got that out of
- 11:44Speaker 1: the way early. And I loved her patient Mary when
- 11:47Speaker 1: Brook's like you need to stop, you know, I'm with
- 11:49Speaker 1: doctor Colin and Mary's like, I know, just love Mary.
- 11:54Speaker 1: I think registering of the hardware store is actually a
- 11:56Speaker 1: great idea. I think lots of people do that now.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Those home people have a registered Yes they do. Yeah,
- 12:01Speaker 1: that's a great idea. We have used our little power
- 12:03Speaker 1: drill time and time again. Yeah, far more than I
- 12:07Speaker 1: ever used an ice cream maker.
- 12:09Speaker 2: Hey, if there's anybody out there listening to us who
- 12:11Speaker 2: is registering for a wedding, definitely hit the hardware store.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Yes, skip the ice cream maker.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Yes, keep ever ice cream maker, Skip the breadmaker.
- 12:21Speaker 1: You've bend to the grocery store before.
- 12:25Speaker 2: You're not going to make all those things.
- 12:27Speaker 1: We promise you. If you don't currently make them. Being
- 12:30Speaker 1: married is not going to turn you into a homesteader.
- 12:32Speaker 2: No, no, no no. I loved every dress that she
- 12:36Speaker 2: wore to the weddings.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Yes, I loved her wedding wardrobe. And they varied her
- 12:41Speaker 1: style throughout the weddings and then we get the big payoff.
- 12:45Speaker 1: I thought her Brad's made dress was beautiful. Actually I
- 12:48Speaker 1: did too. Oh. I didn't like the combo wedding colors,
- 12:52Speaker 1: the pink and then the deep red of the roses.
- 12:55Speaker 3: Oh.
- 12:55Speaker 1: I noticed that too.
- 12:56Speaker 2: I was like, what is that? That doesn't go together?
- 12:59Speaker 1: It wasn't a fan I have something about that. And
- 13:01Speaker 1: I did just see that.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Okay, there is lots of diversity in this movie. And yeah,
- 13:05Speaker 2: it talks.
- 13:05Speaker 1: About that in a long time now.
- 13:08Speaker 2: Remember we used to talk about like diversity check.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Yes, there was a ton in this movie. So I
- 13:14Speaker 1: was surprised by that, only because I wasn't expecting it.
- 13:17Speaker 1: I kind of feel like that's a very recent move
- 13:20Speaker 1: on behalf of Hallmark. And I did take a look
- 13:23Speaker 1: at the wedding every weekend hashtag and there's a tweet
- 13:28Speaker 1: from Paul Campbell and let me tell you, Paul Campbell
- 13:31Speaker 1: walks the walk in terms of like being a representative
- 13:34Speaker 1: and being in favor of diversity. He tweeted Wedding Every
- 13:37Speaker 1: Weekend was the most watched Summer night's premiere of twenty
- 13:41Speaker 1: twenty on the Hallmark Channel. Thank you to everyone who
- 13:43Speaker 1: came out in support Love Wins and Alonzo Dourralde, who
- 13:50Speaker 1: often appears on Deck the Hallmark but does a movie
- 13:52Speaker 1: reviewer in his own right and does its own thing
- 13:54Speaker 1: tweeted Wedding every Weekend proves it doesn't have to be
- 13:58Speaker 1: an either or Hallmark Channel can do the thing that
- 14:01Speaker 1: it does, and it can do so in a way
- 14:03Speaker 1: that reflects the world as it exists. Bravo. Can I
- 14:08Speaker 1: talk about something that doesn't really have a place in
- 14:10Speaker 1: any of our categories, but I need to talk about it, Okay?
- 14:14Speaker 1: And that is I have decided I am going to
- 14:17Speaker 1: change the way I feel about negative reviews about Hallmark
- 14:23Speaker 1: movies from the woke police. Okay, go on, And that
- 14:27Speaker 1: is I am simply going to find them humorous, because
- 14:30Speaker 1: there is absolutely no way to take someone seriously who
- 14:35Speaker 1: looks at a movie, titles a review welcome to Wokeland,
- 14:39Speaker 1: and do anything other than laugh at it.
- 14:41Speaker 2: Wait, is there an IMDb review for this movie with
- 14:44Speaker 2: that title. Indeed, there is no You're a joke of
- 14:49Speaker 2: a human if that is your attitude. Now, there were
- 14:51Speaker 2: a lot of great reviews of this movie, a lot
- 14:53Speaker 2: of them, but there were a lot of one star
- 14:56Speaker 2: reviews that.
- 14:57Speaker 1: Were like, I had to turn this movie off. What
- 15:00Speaker 1: can I do but laugh at that opinion that you're
- 15:03Speaker 1: so threatened by the idea of two women kissing on television,
- 15:07Speaker 1: even further threatened that you're going to open up your
- 15:10Speaker 1: computer and your little review and let everybody know how
- 15:14Speaker 1: threatened you are by two people who are in love
- 15:18Speaker 1: getting married. And the most offensive thing about that wedding,
- 15:21Speaker 1: by the way, was the fact that the two women's
- 15:23Speaker 1: wedding dresses were nearly identical.
- 15:26Speaker 2: One was pants. I noticed, I looked.
- 15:30Speaker 1: I did not notice that the nights were so similar.
- 15:34Speaker 2: I was like, oh, I get a little right to
- 15:35Speaker 2: hear people welcome to wokeland.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Wow, Wow, can't take you seriously, I want to talk
- 15:42Speaker 1: about what we wished for.
- 15:43Speaker 2: Okay, go ahead, well do do doo doo doo.
- 15:46Speaker 1: Avoidable misunderstanding alert. It's really the only thing I didn't
- 15:50Speaker 1: like about this movie. Yeah, I don't know where the
- 15:53Speaker 1: conflict could have come from. Sometimes I workshop that in
- 15:55Speaker 1: my mind, like we could have had a better conflict,
- 15:57Speaker 1: but I didn't need that. I was like, yeah, Paul Campbell,
- 16:02Speaker 1: Kimberly's us, dad, I'm rooting for your two people. But
- 16:05Speaker 1: you just got in your own way, like she got
- 16:08Speaker 1: in her own way in that moment.
- 16:09Speaker 2: Yeah, she like freaked out before she heard the full conversation.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Stick around, he kept talking.
- 16:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree.
- 16:15Speaker 1: I don't know about you, but when I hear someone
- 16:18Speaker 1: having a conversation like that, like we've got unspoken feelings
- 16:22Speaker 1: for each other, I'm gonna stick around and hear everything
- 16:24Speaker 1: he has to say. Me too, I can hear the conversation.
- 16:27Speaker 1: I am standing there until it's over or I get caught.
- 16:30Speaker 2: I agree. Okay, here's one thing I wish for. I
- 16:35Speaker 2: didn't love that Nate sold her car on her behalf.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Now technically he didn't sell it, but he saw that
- 16:43Speaker 2: she was in this financial bind over the roof, right,
- 16:46Speaker 2: and he takes it upon himself to call the dude
- 16:49Speaker 2: that was interested in, like maybe buying the car, And
- 16:52Speaker 2: I'm like, no, sir, just relay that information to her
- 16:55Speaker 2: that somebody was interested. You don't need to call the
- 16:57Speaker 2: guy to arrange him to come see it, and then
- 17:00Speaker 2: be like, hey, yeah, solve your problem. I hear you.
- 17:04Speaker 1: I thought that could have very easily gone in a
- 17:07Speaker 1: bad direction. But he immediately tells her like, if you
- 17:10Speaker 1: want to sell it, there is a buyer. I felt
- 17:13Speaker 1: like I didn't mind that he took that off that
- 17:16Speaker 1: her plate, you know, like I feel like the order
- 17:19Speaker 1: of operations was okay, fair enough, okay. I'm so confused
- 17:24Speaker 1: by Brook's loan situation because at one point she's writing
- 17:28Speaker 1: a check to the bank. Yes, why, I don't know.
- 17:32Speaker 1: And then I don't know. She says like, I'm using
- 17:35Speaker 1: my loan money for the roof, but as far as
- 17:37Speaker 1: I know, she hasn't actually got a loan. And she
- 17:39Speaker 1: talks about how she has a rainy day savings. Do
- 17:43Speaker 1: you have a savings or are you getting a loan?
- 17:45Speaker 1: Why are you writing a check? I don't understand what's
- 17:48Speaker 1: happening here.
- 17:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I just let that all like slide. At one point,
- 17:53Speaker 2: Nate and Brooker they are talking about how they know
- 17:55Speaker 2: Ginny and Ginny's fiance which his name escapes me right now, Yeah,
- 17:59Speaker 2: And when Nate says he went to college with him.
- 18:01Speaker 2: She says trade school and he corrects her. Yeah, was
- 18:05Speaker 2: like maybe he says Harvard or Okay, something somewhere prestigious, right, huh.
- 18:11Speaker 1: And as someone whose family business is built on.
- 18:14Speaker 3: Trade school, I was like, there's nothing wrong with trade
- 18:17Speaker 3: school here, but I just felt like there was a
- 18:20Speaker 3: little bit of like, yeah, he had to have the
- 18:22Speaker 3: added value of having gone to a prestigious university while
- 18:25Speaker 3: also now working in the biz.
- 18:27Speaker 2: Yes, yes, and let me just step on my soapbox here.
- 18:33Speaker 2: Trade school is not bad. There's a lot of trades
- 18:37Speaker 2: out there that make lots of money.
- 18:39Speaker 1: Yeah, and we need them. Yes. Do you like living
- 18:42Speaker 1: in a home with plumbing and electricity and having a
- 18:45Speaker 1: kar that run exactly?
- 18:47Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 18:47Speaker 1: I just wanted to say I wrote this wish before
- 18:50Speaker 1: we got to the end, but I wrote get off
- 18:52Speaker 1: your classic parts high horse meete Oh yeah, yeah, yea
- 18:54Speaker 1: ya yah. I understand the commitment to the bit, but also,
- 18:58Speaker 1: as time goes on, eventually you're gonna run out of
- 19:01Speaker 1: original parts, Like you need to think a little bit
- 19:04Speaker 1: with a business mine.
- 19:06Speaker 2: Yeah, So my dad rebuilds cars, and he has a
- 19:09Speaker 2: couple of old cars that look like old cars, but
- 19:12Speaker 2: they're fully built with new parts on the inside. Yeah,
- 19:16Speaker 2: where they start the odometer at zero again, because oh, yeah,
- 19:20Speaker 2: everything's new.
- 19:22Speaker 1: You know what I really wanted when I got married
- 19:25Speaker 1: and they got into her car, I wanted her to
- 19:28Speaker 1: open the glove compartment and have like a pile of
- 19:31Speaker 1: those blue hard candies spill out everywhere.
- 19:34Speaker 2: That would have been cute.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Yeah, it would have been. Let's get Julie on the
- 19:38Speaker 1: phone for the next one. Did you see that?
- 19:42Speaker 2: I have a couple me too.
- 19:44Speaker 1: The roof repair guy, mm hmm. First of all, it
- 19:46Speaker 1: comes over when it's pouring rain. That's never gonna happen
- 19:48Speaker 1: because they need to see the roof. Does this guy
- 19:51Speaker 1: see the roof? No, he stands inside her house, looks
- 19:53Speaker 1: up at the drip, and he's like, yeah, that's gonna
- 19:54Speaker 1: be an extensive roof of pair.
- 19:56Speaker 2: How the hell do you know?
- 19:57Speaker 1: You know you even see the roof? Oh I know
- 20:00Speaker 1: what's happening. And as a person who is no stranger
- 20:03Speaker 1: to water damage in my home, they don't just leave, like,
- 20:06Speaker 1: you gotta start drying that out or you're gonna have
- 20:08Speaker 1: a house full of mold.
- 20:09Speaker 2: She's like, all right, thanks, I'll think about it.
- 20:12Speaker 1: I'm just gonna put this pan here and hope for
- 20:14Speaker 1: the best.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that was funny when she came home and
- 20:17Speaker 2: like the roof had fully like I have a drywall clad.
- 20:20Speaker 1: They did that and because obviously something's gonna happen if.
- 20:24Speaker 2: You don't do anything, it doesn't just go away. Okay.
- 20:28Speaker 2: So when Nate comes into physical therapy for the first
- 20:31Speaker 2: time in sees Brook since they were met each other
- 20:34Speaker 2: while they were registering for gifts m she jokes about
- 20:37Speaker 2: the n espresso and then gives a nod to it,
- 20:40Speaker 2: and when they show it, it's a curerig. She says,
- 20:42Speaker 2: n espresso.
- 20:43Speaker 1: I think she says espresso. Oh, I think you're right,
- 20:46Speaker 1: but what a crig is not an espresso machine?
- 20:49Speaker 2: You are correct, You are correct about that, because as
- 20:51Speaker 2: I'm saying these words, I was like, they wouldn't say
- 20:53Speaker 2: an espresso on here.
- 20:55Speaker 3: No.
- 20:55Speaker 1: And in fact, in the first scene when they're in
- 20:57Speaker 1: that store looking at the espresso machines, there is at
- 21:00Speaker 1: least one of them and is an actual an Espresso
- 21:03Speaker 1: that they've blocked out.
- 21:05Speaker 2: The front of it. So yes, yeah, but it's funny.
- 21:09Speaker 2: I was like, uh, that's a cure rig. But yes, yes, Okay,
- 21:13Speaker 2: and then who goes in on a wedding gift together?
- 21:17Speaker 2: Hear me out, because you and I have both planned
- 21:20Speaker 2: a wedding, right, uh huh? And of course, like, you
- 21:23Speaker 2: don't expect gifts from people, but you pay X amount
- 21:26Speaker 2: of dollars per person who comes to your wedding, right,
- 21:29Speaker 2: don't you expect a gift that's comparable sort of in price?
- 21:35Speaker 1: No, I don't expect a gift. How did it?
- 21:37Speaker 2: How? No?
- 21:38Speaker 1: I really don't. I really don't. This is the truth.
- 21:42Speaker 2: Uh. I think there's got to be some Emily Post
- 21:45Speaker 2: nonsense about this.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Here's what I think. That everybody has the amount of
- 21:49Speaker 1: money that they're willing to spend on the weddings they attend, right,
- 21:51Speaker 1: it's fifty dollars, it's one hundred dollars, it's whatever it is.
- 21:54Speaker 1: If they went in on the gift, what I hope
- 21:56Speaker 1: is that they both ended up spending what they would
- 21:58Speaker 1: have spent individually, and they just bought one.
- 22:01Speaker 2: Nicer gift for the couple. I think they got a
- 22:03Speaker 2: four piece glass set.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Okay, Well, I.
- 22:06Speaker 2: Was like, that's not cool.
- 22:07Speaker 1: You don't do it as a money saving.
- 22:10Speaker 2: They're not a couple, but they were not invited together. Hey,
- 22:13Speaker 2: I want to talk about Genny's wedding for a second.
- 22:15Speaker 1: Yeah. First, you mentioned that the color scheme was.
- 22:18Speaker 2: All wrong, and I agree. They're wearing like beautiful, like
- 22:21Speaker 2: lavender color dresses, right, but then they have those like
- 22:25Speaker 2: terrible burgundy flowers behind them.
- 22:28Speaker 1: You deep red. I didn't like it.
- 22:29Speaker 2: It did not go together at all. When Brooke is
- 22:33Speaker 2: walking down the aisle at Jenny's wedding and Nate is
- 22:36Speaker 2: standing like you know, with.
- 22:37Speaker 1: The other groovesmen, she just hit the dirtiest look, oh
- 22:41Speaker 1: does she?
- 22:42Speaker 2: It was fantastic. And then at the end of the wedding,
- 22:45Speaker 2: everybody is saying goodbye. We're talking about Genny's wedding here
- 22:49Speaker 2: and there are full bottles of wine and unopened champagne
- 22:52Speaker 2: on the table.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, take it with you.
- 22:56Speaker 2: Well, I just think like they shot the scene before,
- 22:58Speaker 2: like well, first of all, since it was like COVID,
- 23:02Speaker 2: they probably weren't actually like drinking anything during these scenes.
- 23:07Speaker 2: Those mannequins they can't put their hands to their mouths.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Who knows. People were like real crazy about all kinds
- 23:14Speaker 2: of stuff at that time.
- 23:16Speaker 1: There were kids who were not turning in papers at school.
- 23:18Speaker 2: Because oh, I know, my head could be to collect
- 23:21Speaker 2: physical papers from his students. That was a wild time. Anyway,
- 23:25Speaker 2: That's all I have.
- 23:27Speaker 1: I would just like to point out the photoshop, which
- 23:29Speaker 1: correspondent Mike also pointed out. Yes, Nate shows the photo
- 23:32Speaker 1: of his dad and like you don't even have to
- 23:34Speaker 1: be watching him that closely to be.
- 23:35Speaker 2: Like, well, they just put those two photos together. Yeah, yeah,
- 23:39Speaker 2: I mean at least turn it black and white, you know.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Like not my whole good Yeah, good point, good point.
- 23:45Speaker 2: What'd you rate this movie?
- 23:47Speaker 1: Four stars?
