- 0:05Drama, Darling, Drama, Darling Drama Darling. Hello everybody, welcome back
- 0:20to drama Darling. I made Phillips, your little bitch wife over here,
- 0:23ready to break things down with my incredible guest, Donna Bowling. Donna,
- 0:28Yeah, I love drama, Darling. I consider myself one of your darlings.
- 0:35I am definitely not away from drama. This is perfect. Yes,
- 0:41well, you know what we do in this world is that we follow the
- 0:45drama on television, film, what have you, and then in our own
- 0:48lives we try to stay away from it, you know, as best we
- 0:51can. We do our best. We do our best. Not always gonna
- 0:55be the case, but here we are. We fly above a fla above.
- 1:00Wait, look at between your wallpaper and my wallpaper. We have created
- 1:06like a jungle. You've got what are they? Lions? What are they?
- 1:11They're cheetahs. This is the Cheetah room. Okay, you've got the
- 1:14cheetahs and I'm in the Amazon rainforest. We're we're like the Discovery Channel.
- 1:21We really are. We're not geo bitches, We are not bitch Geo's right
- 1:26here off in your face. Do you think do you think there are podcasts
- 1:29that talk about drama in the national geographic world. Yes, there's so much
- 1:34drama in those fucking lion Uh what do they call them dens? I don't
- 1:38know, I know, I don't know. That's what the show is called.
- 1:42The Lion's Den, The Lions Den. Shout out to the Lions.
- 1:46By the way, I'm a detroiter. So you guys did so good and
- 1:49we'll get you. We'll get you next year. You know, you bombed.
- 1:53I mean, I'm I'm bombed, but so proud. Bombed but proud.
- 1:57You know, yeah, bummed, but proud is pretty much my my
- 2:00go to mantra. But we also have like Taylor Swift, you know,
- 2:06in the whole that whole world. So that's exciting too for everybody to enjoy
- 2:08it. It'll be a fun super Bowl. So Donna, if you don't
- 2:14know Donna Bowling, you've got to check out her podcast, her YouTube,
- 2:19her Instagram account. She does an incredible podcast called Daily Dose of Donna,
- 2:24and you're gonna get that dose. You're gonna be a dozer. I'm a
- 2:29dozer as you are. Darling. Oh my god, we're the D's with
- 2:31the Double D's today, we're the Double D's. I definitely do not have
- 2:36a double D situation. I'm not I'm not doubles and I'm not an actual
- 2:39D. So I mean I'm neither. But that being said, metaphorically speaking,
- 2:46we're double d's today, So we're gonna break down Beverly Hills today.
- 2:50We have a little bit of dish to serve up. And I have to
- 2:53congratulate you on your incredible podcast. I've I've known you since the days of
- 2:59when I was on conditioning and you were actively a casting director, hot casting
- 3:05director, just like top notch geez Louise. And to watch your career go
- 3:10from just top tier casting director to being an incredible podcaster who's charting left and
- 3:20right. Congratulations, what did your thank you? Thank you? You know,
- 3:24I have no idea how or why this transpired. It's so funny because
- 3:30this last month, I don't know if it's just from me being guests on
- 3:34like Dumois or other people's shows. All these old industry people who I used
- 3:39to work with, you know, ten years ago, fifteen years ago at
- 3:43you know, network studios that I kind of fell off, you know,
- 3:46being in contact with. They're all following me on Instagram all of a sudden
- 3:50saying, oh my gosh, I love your show. I listened to your
- 3:52show, and I'm like, that's weird, you know, because they know
- 3:54they know me as like trying to get the next casting gig or working for
- 3:59them. You know, it is a crazy I just think it's never too
- 4:02late to start something new, and why not go for it? Love that.
- 4:05I absolutely love that. I'm looking at getting into my double twenty fives
- 4:11next month. Okay, Karen Huger, I know double twenty five's is a
- 4:15big deal. You looked a big freaking nominal. Wow, thank you.
- 4:20It's the cheaterh Seriously, that's a cheat, crazy Amy. I never would
- 4:25have guessed. Wow, really, that's amazing. Well you had your daughter
- 4:29then late forty two, Oh my god, it was still working. Yeah,
- 4:34I I well, thank god to IVF. But we had started trying
- 4:40and when I was about god, I would say thirty seven or thirty eight,
- 4:44and you know, like a lot of women, three miscarriages, you
- 4:48know, there's a lot of like complications. Then you dig in deeper and
- 4:53then it's the IVF time, and then you know, IVF is knocking at
- 4:57my door. So you know, we got in right under the wire.
- 5:00Let me tell you it's amazing. I mean, that's awesome. I know
- 5:04she said, look, duh, that's my goal, haba duh. I
- 5:12like it. So yeah, I totally agree with you. We zig and
- 5:16we zag and a lot of the times on this podcast we do talk about
- 5:20you know, business and being an entrepreneur and tips and tricks and things like
- 5:25that. So what I love is that a lot of my listeners from Serious
- 5:29XEM have followed me over to the podcast and so they're seeing this transition and
- 5:33seeing what it takes and what I have to do differently from being on Serious.
- 5:40So it's really wild to like experience that alongside of the darlings and having
- 5:46their full support, which is great. So and I know that you are
- 5:50feeling that same way because you've, like you've had a lot of renditions of
- 5:56podcasts and it's been interesting to see you find your way in and now your
- 6:00podcast is just you and you really blend pop culture, you blend your personal
- 6:06life, you know, family, treat and would you say industry like the
- 6:14yeah, the back the behind the scenes type of stuff from casting. I
- 6:19think you know it's it's true. This is my fourth podcast, I mean,
- 6:23which is kind of crazy to say, but a lot of people would
- 6:27be like, Wow, she's a failure because she's on her fourth But in
- 6:30fact, I actually think like that is a necessary trajectory. Most people don't
- 6:33find their thing in their first s. Yes, right, it's kind of
- 6:40like you have to try something if it doesn't work, instead of hitting the
- 6:43wall and just staying there, like you pivot, you shift, you know,
- 6:46and that goes for like anyone that is even right now considering to start
- 6:50a podcast or like even creating content TikTok, instagram, YouTube, whatever.
- 6:56I always say, you know, it has to be something you enjoy doing.
- 6:59But if you're audience is not feeling it and they're not picking up on
- 7:02it, I would probably try to shift and say because it is a puzzle
- 7:06piece, it's like finding the thing that you love doing that your audience wants,
- 7:12and then it goes into like that flow, yes, and finding that
- 7:15niche Yes, I completely agree. It's one of those things like you know,
- 7:20as somebody who's done some writing, comedy writing and taking classes and gotten
- 7:27advice on from people, and it's one of those things where it's like you
- 7:31want to focus on the thing that you're the most excited about and that you
- 7:35love the most because it's coming from that place of it's always going to be
- 7:40authentic. So do what you love the best, you know, whether that's
- 7:46a podcast or whether that's selling something on Etsy, do what you love,
- 7:49because then that is what's going to take you, I think, to the
- 7:54place of when you have the most passion for where you're going to have the
- 7:57most success. So I love that you landed there and you continue to grow
- 8:01and you're an inspiration to me. And I'm so excited you're here. You
- 8:05know, Ryan Bailey was with me yesterday for a Patreon I've been wanting to
- 8:11get you guys on the podcast for a while, so I'm just I'm stoked
- 8:15you're here today. So in the meantime, before we get into Beverly Hills,
- 8:18we have a little dish to serve Donna. Donna's going to serve up
- 8:22some dish with me, okay, first serving, Yes, you serve the
- 8:28housewife in the Hustler. Part two is going to be coming out on Hulu
- 8:31February twelfth. Obviously, I know you saw the first one. Will you
- 8:35be tuning in for the second one? Donna? I mean, of course,
- 8:41can you imagine if I'm like, I don't know better things to do
- 8:46then and I listen, this is what we do. Obviously, we have
- 8:48to find out what's going on. I'm a little confused because I've heard some
- 8:52crazy stories about how this came into production because isn't Erica in it? Which
- 8:58she's meeting with the and she's meeting with the victims. I saw something,
- 9:01right, She's meeting with the victims at an ice cream place that was founded.
- 9:07It was like a charity thing. But anyway, this was the middle
- 9:09ground that they were going to to talk to her. So did she know
- 9:15she was in housewife and the hustler too. She had to have been right,
- 9:20she had. I have heard some weird things about that. What have
- 9:22you heard? I've heard that there was like a little bit of you know,
- 9:26you bamboozled her. Yeah, that's what I mean. It's just rumors.
- 9:31But from what I've heard me, of course they didn't bambooso. They
- 9:35may mauzled exactly, but I mean, I would imagine she has to sign
- 9:41off on everything. But you know, I think that the craziest things about
- 9:43documentaries or productions or whatever is like, technically, if you sign off and
- 9:50you say I will be in your documentary, you don't have final say over
- 9:54what the scope of the documentary is, what the approach is. Like.
- 9:58Sometimes you think you're doing a night thing and it's a hate piece or you
- 10:03know what I mean about that person you're talking about, and then you're like,
- 10:07oh shit, I didn't mean to be part of that, right right,
- 10:09Well, I don't know. I love that there's some mystery behind it
- 10:15because that will probably get us to watch. I know. It's like the
- 10:18Housewife and the Hustler in the House of Cards with the Traders, Like I'm
- 10:24very excited. Oh my god, you are watching Traders, right? Are
- 10:28you kidding? It's Thursday. We're very excited for tonight's episode. So excited.
- 10:31Okay, good, all right. Kenya Moore is in Abducted off the
- 10:37Street on Lifetime. It will be Saturday, February tenth, eight seventh Central.
- 10:43We've got to support our girl. She's in this movie. Okay,
- 10:46okay, so we have to watch it. We have to watch it.
- 10:52I mean, who doesn't also want to watch a Lifetime movie about being abducted?
- 10:56I mean we all that hits right, It hits right. It brings
- 10:58me back to my traumatic childhood watching the after school specials of like eating disorders
- 11:05and you know kidnappings. Do you remember watching those? Like really dramatic?
- 11:11So this is right end. This will like feed that you know part of
- 11:16you that you want? Okay, podcast alert. This took me totally by
- 11:22surprise. But I open up Instagram and I see the Teddy Mellencamp and Emily
- 11:28Simpson have a podcast on iHeart and it's called Popping Off. What are your
- 11:33thoughts, Donna? Are you okay? You know I've known Teddy for years
- 11:37and years. Yes, I am blown away by her success in this podcasting
- 11:43space she she got. She had a podcast and I wish I could remember
- 11:48the name of it, but it was just Teddy and it was prior to
- 11:52I was a guest on it, but there was like a couple of producers
- 11:56or something, but it was just Teddy. But it was for iHeart,
- 11:58and it was I don't think it was nearly you know, I don't think
- 12:01it was doing what she wanted or what they wanted. Getting Tamra on her
- 12:05show was a genius move. And then of course Tamra comes back to OC
- 12:09so now it's like so relevant, right, Emily Simpson and Cynthia Bailey do
- 12:13these like guest appearances, and they help out when Tamra's shooting or when one
- 12:18of them is not available. So I'm not surprised that this happened, But
- 12:22did you see that? It's actually it's it's like an empire of podcasts now
- 12:26because Teddy and Tamra started their own basically production company for iHeart called Two Tea's
- 12:33Presents. I did not know this. So do you want to know what
- 12:37kind of shows they have under them? Okay, yes, they have Teddy
- 12:41and Tamra obviously, the twats the Two Te's. They have Tamra's Trader's podcast
- 12:46that she's doing that limited Trader's podcast. Tama's doing a yep, she's doing
- 12:50about okay, and I think it started last week with Janelle, who was
- 12:54her first guest, so she's going to probably have I thought that was to
- 12:58tease when I saw them together. Oh my god. Okay, then clearing
- 13:01this up for me? Okay, yeah, I with Marisol and Alexia from
- 13:07Miami that's under their umbrella, Get out Brilliant. Are you gonna tell me
- 13:13too? Jay's in a jersey or something is under it? Oh no,
- 13:16oh my God. Jackie and Jen Fessler's show from Jersey is also under two
- 13:24teas. And then finally, oh, the last two are the Eds.
- 13:28Oh the Eads, Yes, okay, thes that's Tamer and Teddy's husbands.
- 13:33And and then this one was announced, so like, look, okay,
- 13:37hate the what do they say, like, hate the player, don't hate
- 13:39the game or whatever. I don't know. I hate the game, hate
- 13:43the game, not the player. All I want is to know how much
- 13:46money those two women are making off. iHeart because they are tating over they
- 13:52are I okay, So it's so wild to me. First of all,
- 13:54I'm supportive of this podcast, in any podcast that's gonna pop off, okay,
- 14:00And then popping Off. I love the name, by the way,
- 14:03it's a great name. I think it's a great name. But there's another
- 14:05popping off pop culture podcast because I looked for it yesterday on Apple Podcasts and
- 14:11it doesn't have its own like feed yet. It was just kind of like
- 14:16put on the two te's feed, you know how they can just like insert
- 14:18an you show. Okay, But there's another show called Poppin' Off and it's
- 14:26a it's literally a pop culture podcast, like they had an episode two days
- 14:28ago, and I'm like, this, poor girl, whoever this popping off
- 14:33is getting tricky because if they didn't, obviously they must not have trademarked it.
- 14:37And then that's that's trouble. You know this is this happens again.
- 14:43I'm sure you know this. I know this, and I feel like it's
- 14:46one of the things that when you're and forgive me for saying this, but
- 14:48if you're a novice in the world of entertainment or this type of industry and
- 14:54podcasts and stuff like that, you don't understand that a lot of people come
- 15:00up with the same idea. So and this happens too, like on blogs
- 15:03and things like that, memes, anything with like Instagram accounts. There's a
- 15:09lot of in fighting with that when they say this person stole this. And
- 15:13I do agree that there is some stealing, there's some thievery out there.
- 15:18However, it is very possible and most likely a lot of people have the
- 15:22same idea, you know what I mean, Like it just happens that way,
- 15:26and that happens in the comedy world too. A joke or the concept
- 15:31of a joke happens all the time, or it's you know, taken or
- 15:35another comedian will do it not even knowing that another comedian already said that there
- 15:41are people out there who obviously do take what isn't theirs. But this does
- 15:46happen, so sorry popping off, I know, ri Ip popping off.
- 15:54So but anyway, yes, there's the But here's the thing about podcasts,
- 15:58and I was saying this, yes, I think on my show because I
- 16:00was talking about this whole thing. What's cool about it is the reason why
- 16:03they're so successful. The reason why there's always new ones popping in, popping
- 16:07off and popping in is because, like there's going to be an audience for
- 16:12every single person. There's a lot of people that ye won't like my show,
- 16:15but will love your show, and vice versa. And so even if
- 16:19you can talk about the exact same topics, it's just your approach. It's
- 16:22just like meeting a friend or a boyfriend. Exactly right. You have your
- 16:26piece. Absolutely, I agree, so well, congratulations to them. In
- 16:32other news, Kim and Kroy. Now this was a story that came out
- 16:36yesterday. Page six picked it up bodycam footage of Kim. She's in a
- 16:42police officers. I mean, it looks like an interrogation room. But she
- 16:48is making she's filing a police report against Croy for stealing her jewelry. Now,
- 16:55apparently her attorney told her to do this, to which they actually are
- 17:00like, well, I'm sorry, there's nothing we can do because what's when
- 17:03you're still married, what's yours is his and what's his is yours, So
- 17:07we can't do anything at this time. I'm sure the attorney probably just wanted
- 17:11to get it on record that this happened. But she's basically like, he
- 17:15stole my shit and he's selling it, you know, And so like she
- 17:18found out. The way that she found out was because somebody DMed her and
- 17:25I don't know, somebody DMed her the stuff that Croy like sold her of
- 17:30hers and was like, I'm so grateful for your stuff, your jewelry,
- 17:34and she was like, oh hell no, and you know, essentially just
- 17:38was like I had no idea, and that's what tipped her off. So
- 17:41now she's at the station, you know, filing a report. These two,
- 17:47Okay, Number one, they've cornered the market on ets, eBay,
- 17:51Craigslist, I don't know where, Facebook, marketplace, Like where are they
- 17:55selling all the shit every single time? I hear a story about Kim and
- 17:57kroy to Bow them selling their goods like it's hambags. I honestly think that
- 18:03KROI was literally just going through the house like what can I sell? We
- 18:07need to pay our bills. Yes, totally, that's exactly what he was
- 18:11doing. Like, I don't think he was like, oh, I'm gonna
- 18:14screw Kim here, He's like, my daughter needs to eat. Yeah,
- 18:17yeah, one hundred percent, that's exactly. And they was in a safe.
- 18:22He opened the safe, she couldn't get into the safe. Well,
- 18:23of course he changed the locks because he probably was like if I don't sell
- 18:29this and get liquid, she's gonna sell it and go gambling, I know,
- 18:34or like get her hair done again or her nails. You know.
- 18:37Honestly, I'm thinking about if this ever happened with Lance and I. I
- 18:41don't know what would happen because what would he sell? Like he'd be like,
- 18:45well, I think she got this at h and m haha, Like
- 18:49here's a six dollar token costume jewelry. Tear down that wallpaper and sell that
- 18:56wallpaper, don't true. He's gonna like he's gonna sell your brand, He's
- 19:03gonna sell your podcast if fucking to t's iHeart. I hope he sells it
- 19:10to I don't know, would you, because because then they would probably take
- 19:15a cut. I don't care. Well, I'm joking, I have not
- 19:21because it would be extra promotion. The way I look at it right now,
- 19:26it would be very hard to understand like how or why I would ever
- 19:29give my podcast and like sell it to a network. To be one hundred
- 19:32percent honest, it would have to be like a really good making, money
- 19:34making deal, because you're right, it's nice to have complete ownership over everything.
- 19:41You know, there's and this is a whole other conversation about podcasts,
- 19:44but like people do it so differently, you know, bitch sash right,
- 19:45Yeah, of course I love those girls. I'm not subscribed to their platform,
- 19:52to their new platform. So I subscribe to them because I noticed that
- 19:55they were releasing a show once a week that I was looking forward to,
- 19:57and I'm like, if I'm looking for to their episode and then it goes
- 20:00away, like I'll be bummed. Yeah, So I paid five dollars a
- 20:03month, which to me is like so worth it for four episodes. I
- 20:07know they have like different tiers. Number one, I had a dream last
- 20:11night about them. I just thought of it like we were working out together
- 20:15anyway. Those they decided to pull off of working with a network. I
- 20:21remember they were with one of those you know, big percast network, Yes,
- 20:25yes, ear Wolf, and then they pulled off just to do their
- 20:29show ad free but based on subscribers. And I wonder what they're going through,
- 20:33because that's the thing. It's like, it's so there's no stability,
- 20:37that's the problem. Yes, I understand. It's so interesting because their their
- 20:41story is very parallel to mine in terms of like they were on Earwolf,
- 20:45I was on Serious XM. And it's wild because eight years ago when I
- 20:52remember, I had approached Andy about doing a podcast and I wanted to get
- 20:59his blessing on it because he is the one who has been my mentor,
- 21:02like giving me so many opportunities in this world of housewives. So I was
- 21:06like, I just wanted to get his permission that I was going to go
- 21:07out there and start doing this podcast. And he was like, yes,
- 21:11but why don't you do it on radio Andy, And that hadn't existed yet,
- 21:14and I didn't know he was going to be starting a network, so
- 21:17I obviously jumped on that and was like, yes, so I was one
- 21:21of the first programs on his show, And that being said, I obviously
- 21:26chose to go that route instead of a podcast. That being said, cut
- 21:33to seven and a half years later when I'm you know, in negotiations and
- 21:38things do what they do, and I won't go too far, but the
- 21:41point of it is is that I needed to I needed to cut and run.
- 21:45Unfortunately, despite my loyalty to Andy and though he was so supportive regardless
- 21:49and did everything he could, but I had found out, you know,
- 21:55eight years ago that Bitch Sessh was starting right after I started on Serious,
- 22:00So we started our journeys at the exact same time. Then I was moving
- 22:03out of Serious and onto a podcast at the exact same time they were leaving
- 22:07Earwolven onto Theirs, and I think for the exact same reasons, which was
- 22:12wild. So that being said, their journey is always just so close to
- 22:21my heart because I feel like kindred spirits with them, and we don't really
- 22:26connect on that level in terms of like talking about business so much. I
- 22:30mean, like we've touched down a couple of times, but I really respect
- 22:33what they're doing and I think like in this world, it is so important
- 22:37to have that IP and to follow what you want to do. And they
- 22:41have such a loyal fan base much like mine that like was so supportive when
- 22:48you've moved on, and that's like really the key. Yeah, it's about
- 22:51bringing your people with you, because your people will follow you know, if
- 22:55you have developed a relationship with your fans, they're going to follow you kind
- 22:57of wherever you go. Hopefully are willing to to, you know, pay
- 23:02five dollars a month or whatever to listen to your show, which was a
- 23:04big risk for them because they don't have a free option anymore. I mean
- 23:08they'll randomly drop free episodes, but it's not an option where you and I
- 23:14have free options plus the subscriptions. What's so interesting is what you just said
- 23:18about the Andy thing, And without going into detail, do you wish you
- 23:22went into the podcast first? Are you happy you sometimes? Yes, yes,
- 23:26some of it, Yeah, because I know I would be making a
- 23:30ton more money, I know really, oh yeah, because of the growth.
- 23:33Because of the growth, and because when I when I began eight years
- 23:38ago, no one there's there was only one other watch of Crappins Watch with
- 23:44Crappens. They were the only ones that were really cornering that market. And
- 23:48so because I know that I would have been in early and I would have
- 23:53been doing what they're doing, and I know that I would have been doing
- 23:57like I would have gotten the ads on because I was in on the ground
- 24:02floor. So because of what I've seen other people like Danny Pellegrino, because
- 24:07I've seen what they were able to do because they started early, I know
- 24:11my growth would have been much more exponential as opposed to a plateau at serious
- 24:18with very small upgrades. So that's where the growth wasn't there monetarily, and
- 24:25that's really unfortunate. So that being said, yes, I do wish monetarily,
- 24:32you know, monetarily, I wish that was the case. I just
- 24:34thought there'd be more of a payoff. It's serious, and that's I would
- 24:38have signed up seconds if I were you in that moment, and Andy Cohen
- 24:44offered me a show on his network. There's not even a question, of
- 24:47course, and I don't regret that. I don't regret it. Being connected
- 24:52with Andy is invaluable, and so so what you can't get monetarily. Having
- 24:57that connection with him was always just so great, you know it was a
- 25:03stamp of approval, like I'm under his umbrella and it you know, the
- 25:06street cred that goes along with that is huge, so so grateful, so
- 25:10grateful. Yeah, yeah, No, it's interesting. I mean, everything
- 25:12happens for a reason. And honestly, had you gone on your own,
- 25:15the growth could have been there, but it could have been a hard or
- 25:18growth because being on radio Andy really got you in front of your prime audience
- 25:25every day. And it wasn't like you didn't have to fight to find your
- 25:29listeners. They found you just because you were there, and then they fell
- 25:32in love with you. Yeah. I mean, there's so many ways you
- 25:34could look at it, Donna. I mean I suppose you know, but
- 25:37yes, do I think about that? Yes, I absolutely do. Do
- 25:42I wait awake at night thinking about it. No, we're talking about it
- 25:47now. And that's those are the Those are the that's been my thought process.
- 25:53What don't I don't land there, you know, I just don't.
- 25:56I don't stay in that space. I don't land there. And I'm happy
- 25:59to be what I'm doing now. Absolutely, I'm with you. And if
- 26:03you are laying awake at night, if you should do what I did last
- 26:06night, which was take a Vina CBG THHC gummy. Oh god, I
- 26:11am well, I have my own gummies. I haven't gotten into the Vina
- 26:15although, no, I don't have my own brand. Why it would be
- 26:18funny if you had a Drama Darling Zone. No, I wait brand Donna.
- 26:22I was talking about that two days ago, and I want that.
- 26:26So are you? Are you someone that enjoys a gummy? Oh? Yes,
- 26:30like at night or all the time? No, no, at night
- 26:33at night? It just I do it every night, but I do love
- 26:37it. How about you? Well, I I like being high. Too
- 26:44high for me is literally my biggest fear, and I got too high a
- 26:47few weeks ago by mistake, and I never want to feel that way again.
- 26:49But I can't sleep at night right now because I'm going through so much
- 26:52crap in my head. So everyone told me to buy the Vina. Like
- 26:56I forgot. It's not called lights out, it's called like rest easier.
- 26:59I can't even remember. Yeah, but there. It was two milligrams of
- 27:02THHC and it does taste like you're eating a marijuana plant, but with like
- 27:07a little grapefruit on the side. I know, but I took half of
- 27:11it last night. I woke up in the middle of the night one time
- 27:14and I remember feeling like I am high. One milligram was enough for me.
- 27:18Well, I think that's great because you obviously are very we're you know,
- 27:23we're cut from the same cloth, and you know we're we We don't
- 27:26want to feel too out of control. So I think this a little dose,
- 27:30little dose, a little Donna and her mgs of THC. You know
- 27:36what I mean. That is my new brand daily dose and it's gonna be
- 27:38THHC. Or can we just a cafine? You and I need to start
- 27:45our own one. Okay, there's a lot here that we can talk about.
- 27:49All right, well we we after hours, we'll do it. Yeah,
- 27:52we'll do it after hours, as I say, after the drama of
- 27:56drama Darling. But listen, we before we get into Beverly Hills. I
- 28:03want to just chat with the ladies out there. And if you're over forty,
- 28:08and if you're looking at you're double twenty fives like me, and you're
- 28:12not using cream makeup, it's time to do it. If you don't already
- 28:18know my journey with Saint. I started using it, I became obsessed with
- 28:22it. Then I realized, oh, I can sell this, like I
- 28:26can be a rep for this. Duh. So now I am, and
- 28:30I love doing the color matches. I am fully involved with it. Like
- 28:36I color match you. You send me like a makeup free selfie, no
- 28:41filters, guys, and I color match you and then you then I suggest
- 28:45to you what shades you should use. And it's three D makeup. It's
- 28:51the contouring, it's the foundation, and it's all in one compact, which
- 28:53is sick. It's so easy. I love it. So if you want
- 28:59me to color match you, text me three two three five three zero one
- 29:03two one seven three two three five three zero twelve seventeen, or you can
- 29:07go to link in my bio, which is meet Amy Phillips. I'm gonna
- 29:10put the link in the podcast notes, so there you have it. Let's
- 29:15get in two Beverly Hell yea, Hey, what a thrill. Okay,
- 29:22First of all, what's your blood pressure? Donna? How are you doing?
- 29:23How's your blood pressure? Hold on, Crystal and Anna Marie? What
- 29:27is my blood Okay, I'm at one. I'm just I'm good. I'm
- 29:32good. Oh, thank god. Okay, Well what's yours? I'm at
- 29:34one ninety two over five hundred. No, I that was kind of scary.
- 29:38Seeing her blood pressure just skyrocket like that. That freaked me out.
- 29:45It was it was high, and it was in a foreign country and they
- 29:48were high up. Yeah, and it was high protecting. I'm trying to
- 29:53think if I've ever had high blood pressure like that. I don't think I
- 29:59have. I have not. Mine is freak you out? Yeah, that
- 30:04was a real like this is what I love about these real reality shows,
- 30:08Like we're seeing in real time someone struggle with a health issue that runs in
- 30:14your family. And let's get all eyes on high blood pressure, hypertension,
- 30:18Like, let's get all eyes on that right now, so we can check
- 30:21in and be like, okay, what are we doing, what what do
- 30:23we need to do to make sure we're okay. This is what I loved
- 30:26about that. And poor Crystal, you know this runs in her family,
- 30:32and with Anne Marie being there for her, it really wasn't something that we
- 30:36saw coming. And I did love this little twist of fate here, which
- 30:40was that she was there for her, you know, doing the nurse stuff
- 30:44in the van, willing to go to the Barcelona local hospital, but Gavin
- 30:51was going to go so we're fine, Gavin, get eyes on. Gavin
- 30:55like, why don't we have a microphone on? So? So yeah,
- 31:03I want Andy a camera and Gavin, I want to know what really went
- 31:07down. All I will say is this, Yeah, bless Anna Marie for
- 31:11being there and appreciate her for trying to step in. I personally don't understand
- 31:17why it made sense for her to say right next to Crystal, who was
- 31:19like literally high blood pressure, passing out and anxiety attack, saying like,
- 31:23hopefully you don't stroke out, babe, what happened? Things you don't say
- 31:30like now we know, Okay, we know a little more about Anne Marie.
- 31:34You know doesn't have a good bedsign manner. I mean she was,
- 31:38she was there, but then she ruined it, you know, she really
- 31:41I that was so tough. I was like, well, you know what,
- 31:45Amy, that's why she's an eight point five. She can never fully
- 31:49get to the ten. It's like that's why her husband was like, listen,
- 31:52bit you are great, but you never perfect. It's true, You're
- 31:59right. She showed, she showed us who she was and eight and I
- 32:04wasn't even thinking about her having a stroke. I mean, I guess I
- 32:07didn't really, I don't connect the two. Well, Crystal did mention earlier
- 32:12when she was panicking and she was like, my hands are tingling. She's
- 32:14like, these are stroke symptoms, which means that Crystal is probably just like
- 32:19me, a hypochondriac that spends a lot of time on web MD. Her
- 32:22dad told her. She was like, oh, my dad told me what
- 32:27the stroke symptoms are, and I'm like, okay, so they've had this
- 32:29conversation. I just I am really not equipped to know much about the medical
- 32:36field and things, so I didn't know that hypertension and stroke go hand in
- 32:39hand. So honestly, honestly, it was scary to watch. I couldn't
- 32:44imagine being there without like your normal life and doctor. But I do think
- 32:51dehydration, altitude, flying tired, all those things don't help. No,
- 32:57the just being up there on that windy road, I'm thinking, oh my
- 33:00god, now this ambulance has to like make their way and this is gonna
- 33:05take forever. And then it is always funny when you have the housewives call
- 33:08an ambulance and then it gets to the point where it's like, well,
- 33:12who's gonna go with them this? You know, everyone was like, yeah,
- 33:17we're Gonna. I mean it was I need to pray for you,
- 33:22Crystal. I gotta go praying this chapel for a candle I did. That's
- 33:27why I was like, Anna, Marie was really nice to genuinely ask.
- 33:30But the fact they were like, we're gonna have Gavin. You guys all
- 33:32stay here, I thought, oh thank god, because well producers are like,
- 33:36listen, we need we need story. Yes, we need, we
- 33:38need to we can't take the players. We can't bench any of them.
- 33:40And then like cut to remember when Kenya was. I can't remember where they
- 33:45were, but uh they uh she she made Candy go with her to the
- 33:50hospital. I'm like, that is such a horrible move, like, don't
- 33:52make a cast may come with you, poor Candy. I know, even
- 33:55when Vicky went to the hospital with a bed sheet over her head, I
- 34:00think she went alone, Like I can. I think housewives should go alone.
- 34:02I mean, I always pour with Gavin. Just send Gavin, but
- 34:07leave that. Haven't there Gavin is the resident hospital like a chaperone. Totally,
- 34:15They're like flying Gavin, He's gotta go. We got another hospital scene
- 34:19we gotta take. So that was really really nice. I appreciated that this
- 34:24chapel situation was really really sweet. I did. I thought it was.
- 34:31Erica had the fucking episode of her life, hitting on all cylinders, hilarious,
- 34:38the you know the lines, great saying I've already done this shit about
- 34:44the chapel. I mean, so she wasn't waiting around with Crystal. She
- 34:49was like, you guys have it. She went straight to the church.
- 34:52She's like, oh, Crystal's stroking out. I'm out Crystal stroking. She's
- 34:57like, I was with an old man. You'll be fine. I mean,
- 35:01I'm surprised Erica didn't get in there and just start resuscitating, you know,
- 35:06knowing the one two threes about how to deal with She's like, when
- 35:09Tom's blood pressure used to go high, I used to just get a little
- 35:13naked for him. It would lower his Yeah, she's love goes high.
- 35:17We go low there, chapel. Yeah, she starts going low with just
- 35:23everything. She was like so bitter being in the like it was a crazy
- 35:30we saw a you know, Erica's definitely on a redemption tour this season.
- 35:35That is really what she's been doing this entire season, showing her you know,
- 35:37more calm, good side. But at the end of the day.
- 35:40Erica's got like she's she's an America. She is. Oh, she's full
- 35:46on out there. I did love seeing that. I'm like, Okay,
- 35:50well, you don't have to be a genius to know that Beirut, you
- 35:53know, is going through some things. Like I mean, everyone kind of
- 35:57knows. So her throwing out these you know words wasn't as astounding to me
- 36:01as perhaps it was the other housewives. But I love that she caught them
- 36:06off guard, and I love that she was able to, you know,
- 36:09one up everyone at the table there. I mean, when I'm drinking too
- 36:14much, I don't think I get smarter. So this was a crazy thing
- 36:16I've ever like, I have never seen a person drink and then like and
- 36:22she was drunk. I mean, let's be honest, So I've never seen
- 36:25someone drink to an excess and then come off better. Yes, yes,
- 36:30you're right. It was crazy. It was the best Erica we've seen in
- 36:35like what three seasons. Probably, Yeah, it was fun. It was
- 36:38like she she did say a couple of things that could have been offensive,
- 36:42but no one really took offense to it, like because it was just merse
- 36:45and a purse. I think merce would have loved that comment. You know,
- 36:50oh my god, Merce was like he I mean, knowing what kind
- 36:53of guy Marse was, he was like, was dead. Yeah, he's
- 36:58like Erica Jade is talking about me? Yeah, oh my god. How
- 37:01about Trevor being so just taken aback? He was like fan girling out over
- 37:08Erica. Trevor has never like Trevor is the leader of the real House as
- 37:14a Beverly Hills Facebook page, Like he is so excited. Wait, you
- 37:17just said Trevor has never Okay, y'all, we're gonna play a game called
- 37:22Trevor has never How do we not play that game at that table? Trevor
- 37:28has never been around a housewife that he hasn't been obsessed with. Trevor has
- 37:32never heard a joke about Merce that he didn't love. Yeah, yeah,
- 37:37I mean I was like, did I miss like a moment I heard about
- 37:40Trevor. But how are these other people involved? Were they all Marse connections?
- 37:45You know, that is a great question. I think they were just
- 37:47Trevor. I don't think they were Marse connections. I think they were Trevor
- 37:52friends in high society, if you will. The Aradite is what aerodit ever
- 38:00heard. Oh you haven't. I have heard it, and I will tell
- 38:04you what a fool I am because I've heard it, I've known what it
- 38:07meant, and yet I always pronounced it as aerodyite. So I'm out.
- 38:14I'm out. I can't pronounce it as areola. I'm really out. I'm
- 38:20one of the arioliadites. Yeah, I'm an ariolia dite. That's our new
- 38:23that's our new podcast. To presents to t's an aerodyte, two d's,
- 38:31double d's in an aerial area. Wait, we've got to get your drama,
- 38:37darling. I'm daily dose. We've got to get two t's presents double
- 38:39d's. Oh my god, you're so right. They have two j's,
- 38:44Like, get all the alphabet in there. Yeah, we're well, we're
- 38:46getting through it fast, so we better claim those ds pretty quick because the
- 38:52hell, who else? Who else would be our dada? And shit,
- 38:59No, I don't know. I don't know if Durinda, Oh my god,
- 39:01can you imagine Adrinda and Durte podcast that the honey? I mean you
- 39:07know what, Drik, can't you talk too much? You know? You?
- 39:10Dinda? Darrinda by all by all means I appreciate you what about dur
- 39:17being so makeup free in yesterday's episode is rebranding? I love it. She
- 39:22looks great. She is a natural woman. Oh and you know what she
- 39:28showed us all she doesn't need that. She's beautiful. I actually do think
- 39:31she's a pretty woman. Oh I do too. I mean she's stunnying.
- 39:36Yeah, yeah, okay, they all are. They're all studying, all
- 39:39right. So the town. Oh wait, we go we go to the
- 39:43town. Oh, hold on a second, No, we're at the chapel.
- 39:45The psychic. Oh that the Sutton and Kyle moment when they were holding
- 39:50each other, and and I love that, and and a psychic told Sutton
- 39:55that her dad was tired and right or psychic so the way a psychic talk
- 40:04to Kyle. But someone else told Sutton this. Oh I can't remember.
- 40:08It was an aerodity of some sort, but it was someone maybe a psychic
- 40:13told both of them. I don't know, an aerodyite told Sutton. And
- 40:17then sudden and then Kyle said that that the psychic told her about Lorraine,
- 40:25how she was, how she was. What did the psychic actually say about
- 40:30Lorraine? Something about how she's okay or she's better or she's feeling. I
- 40:34don't know, I think that's what it was. I have to tell you
- 40:37that my like the what do you call it? Watermark was over the streener
- 40:44and it cuts off the subtitles so I couldn't see this would this would kill
- 40:47me. This is watch why I watch live. I I because I am
- 40:52so old that I need subtitles to watch everything. Yeah, like I need
- 40:57to know what they say. No, God, this is something that smart.
- 41:00This is something that I'm not sure if you were going to talk about,
- 41:04but okay, I'm going to get into it on my show today.
- 41:07But Kyle Richards, Like, who is this Kyle Richards? This is not
- 41:12Kyle that we know on the show or in real time. Well, in
- 41:16the episode, it's like she's not there. Oh in the she just noticed
- 41:21that she said about eight words for the entire episode. It's so on.
- 41:24Kyle is usually like right in it. Yeah, she was very subdued,
- 41:30Like even at that lunch where we're all talking and you know, in the
- 41:34middle of the courtyard right after the church. Yeah, when Garcela and Dured
- 41:37had that conversation, it's almost like like if you go back and watch,
- 41:43she's literally the whole time, like she's like Crystal two seasons ago. Yeah,
- 41:49yeah, well in Crystal, this see I mean everything. Yeah,
- 41:52that's true, true till you're such a fucking bitch. I am. Well,
- 42:00I totally see what you're saying, and not only in this episode,
- 42:04but in flashes and other episodes. And I agree with you. She is
- 42:09reserved. She's taken a step back. It's almost like she is like trauma,
- 42:15detaching from this show to protect herself because of everything she's going through.
- 42:21And I think that you're right. I do. I see that. I
- 42:24didn't really broad strokes clock that, but she is. She's kind of like
- 42:30taken the heavy weight and just just kind of trying to shift it on to
- 42:36other people, like with her energy, Like I can't give you as much.
- 42:39I've got this going on, I've got that going on, and really
- 42:43it should be enough for her story because she is going through marriage problems,
- 42:46she lost her best friend, you know, she has this new relationship with
- 42:52someone who she's really connecting with, meaning Morgan, and so it's everything is
- 42:58different. Everything. It's yeah, wild to watch, and it does set
- 43:01a different tone for Beverly Hills. You're right, Yeah, it doesn't.
- 43:06It does it feels like a different Kyle. I mean, it's interesting to
- 43:08know that Kyle's not like the lead of the show anymore. In my opinion,
- 43:13Like you just started watching this season, Kyle does not come off like
- 43:16a lead. And if you watched episode you would, yes, if you
- 43:21watch even just this episode isolated, you think Erica was the star and Sutton
- 43:25was number two. Yeah, and Kyle was like a friend of Yeah,
- 43:30I think I was a friend of And I don't know. I mean,
- 43:31I don't know what month they were there, but I'm imagining she was probably
- 43:36so mentally somewhere else right totally. And then also she's not drinking, so
- 43:40she's not even able to kind of like, you know how sometimes if you've
- 43:45had a cocktail or too, like you can kind of forget about the heaviness
- 43:47in your life and just have fun or whatever. And I feel like,
- 43:50because she doesn't have that, she's just in her head totally. I am
- 43:54okay with that, because I think that Kyle's been a heavy hitter on this
- 43:58show for so long, and sometimes I feel like the cast can have revolving
- 44:01doors when someone just exits and lets the others kind of go around for a
- 44:06little while because they need a little reprieve and the break. Yeah, and
- 44:08I'm okay with that. But you're so right on that wild conversation that that
- 44:16Garcel brought up about Derete, she and Durite and the issues that they have,
- 44:21and that they were able to kind of come back together. I wasn't
- 44:24sure if they would, so, uh, I'm curious what your thoughts were
- 44:31on Deurite saying, you know, you called me a Karen and then explaining
- 44:36that her character isn't the way that she thinks it is, and then talking
- 44:39about her you know, having an Israeli background and that she had she grew
- 44:45up at, having so many anti Semitic Semitic remarks in her community and relating
- 44:50that with Garcel and wanting to be open to her triggers. But also please
- 44:55recognize that I'm not really the person you think I am. What were your
- 45:00thoughts on that? Well? I was really glad to see that the show
- 45:05edited edited it in a way that didn't like make Derete sound you know,
- 45:14stupid by saying this or because the way that they ed edit the show really
- 45:19makes a difference in how people's approach. So the fact that they took,
- 45:22you know, pictures of her growing up and kind of like soft in the
- 45:27scene and put on some music music. It goes to show that they were
- 45:30they were showing a side of dereit that people should give her a little bit
- 45:35of a break. Now, I obviously I'm biased here. I'm Jewish and
- 45:38growing up. You know, I'm lucky I lived in Los Angeles, I
- 45:42lived in a very Jewish heavy neighborhood. But but I mean, you'd be
- 45:47blind to not know that anti Semitism is a real thing. And this was
- 45:51shot way before this last wave since October. So so I just remember growing
- 45:59up and learning about Martin Luther King, right, and learning as a Jewish
- 46:02person, Martin Luther King really really supported the Jews because what a lot of
- 46:08times people don't understand is, yes, the color of your skin is if
- 46:13you're African American, if you're black, the color of your skin is different,
- 46:15and Jews are not right. So there is a little bit of a
- 46:19disconnect there, but both are heavily persecuted minorities in different ways, and so
- 46:24there was always, I thought, a very strong connection and we should be
- 46:30sensitive to each other's paths. It's different, it's a different path, but
- 46:32they're both similar in that way. I liked it. I thought it was
- 46:36a good scene. I'm happy that Garcel gave that like weight and she didn't
- 46:40immediately say, oh my god, it's not the same shut up you know.
- 46:45Yes, I think that she embraced her, she accepted what she was
- 46:51sharing. And not only that, but she was like, I'd love to
- 46:53learn more about you. And I thought it was it was a really beautiful
- 46:59scene and just like you. When Garcel spoke to her, meaning like you
- 47:07have a sheltered life and you don't understand the walk that I've had to walk.
- 47:12And then Durree telling her story, I thought that when she started talking,
- 47:17She's like, yes, but what you have to understand? I'm like,
- 47:21oh fuck, you know, like you're not doing this. I didn't
- 47:27know where she was going, you know what I mean. I didn't know
- 47:29what she was going to say. And if I if they edited out that
- 47:34music and put in another like a goofy, I would you know what I
- 47:38mean? I'm like they it was all in the editing too, Donna.
- 47:42I was like, they could have done her so wrong, and yet they
- 47:45did respect both of them in that moment and and I thought that was great,
- 47:50so me too. I thought it was handled very well. It was
- 47:54we are you know, we we do have to kind of like wrap up
- 47:59in a minut or two. But I want to say that I did love
- 48:02this shopping, this three minute shopping trip that they had to take because they
- 48:08sutt and it was like on this schedule, and then they land in this
- 48:13store that's got like antique fans and it was like one of those what do
- 48:16you call supermarket sweep or something. It was like supermarket sweep Bcealona. That's
- 48:22why I got. I enjoyed it because it felt like that. It was
- 48:24like, come on, come on, get it, get the most expensive
- 48:27items, get the most expensive yea, I'm Barcelona's sweep. I loved it.
- 48:32Wait, why aren't we watching supermarket sweep on the regular now? No?
- 48:36I don't know, I don't. I don't have it. I don't
- 48:37want to make the time. I don't want to make the time. I
- 48:40feel like it'll make my blood pressure go up. And you know, I've
- 48:43learned a Crystal, she's not allowed to watch that. I won't allow them.
- 48:46Crystal needs to stay away from all competition shows. It was, it
- 48:51was it was a pretty crazy fun scene, but it was lighthearted and fun.
- 48:55Is a lot of the reasons why we like these shows. Yes,
- 48:58and to see Kyle will be like, I know, shop anytime or anywhere
- 49:00for however long. I got jo it like Lyle only shows energy while she's
- 49:06shopping these days. All right, look alive Kyle. It's like something like
- 49:12literally, it's like a lightning bolt up her. You know what when she
- 49:15goes into a store, She's like, Okay, I'm alive. She does.
- 49:21I love that. She was like arimes anywhere is like my compass in
- 49:24any city. I something. It's funny, but I loved it. I
- 49:29get that she's very rich, and I get that she likes to shop,
- 49:31but I always thought Kyle was like not one of those kind of like that's
- 49:36a yeah. It felt like out of character for Kyle. I'm like,
- 49:40you may like to shop, but I've never heard her throw out labels and
- 49:44like be so clear and obvious about her obsession with money. I feel like
- 49:49she's been more transparent about it lately because THEO is piecing out and so what's
- 49:54filling that void? Oh? No? That whoa wow? Wow, Well
- 50:02Morgan was filling that void you know, Morgan and a Arime's bag and the
- 50:07Louis What were the Botago Vanetta shoes from last week's episode when she was like,
- 50:12oh, these are Morgan shoes. Yes, I love that she likes
- 50:16taking Morgan shopping. That is a double void filler for her. Oh big
- 50:21time killed frilled now Sutton. The next day, Sutton is crying about her
- 50:30ashes, and I love this. I mean, I thought it was so
- 50:34you know, authentic and relatable and symbolic of like she said, these ashes
- 50:39are symbolizing her father passing merse and also her marriage, you know, and
- 50:45it's hard to let go so nice. I was there for her. I
- 50:51thought it was beautiful too. I love seeing the side of Sutton. Sutton's
- 50:54having an amazing season. I mean, she to me is really like,
- 50:58I want to watch a documentary about Sutton's early life. I want to read
- 51:00a book. I want to watch like I want to watch Emily in Paris
- 51:05of Sutton in Brooklyn. Like, I just I'm so interested in her life.
- 51:09I just find her life fascinating. But her crying about that, Now,
- 51:15one thing did happen in the midst of the crying, and she did
- 51:19say one thing that. I don't know. I didn't rewind it because I
- 51:22didn't care that much. But I feel like she said I had my dad's
- 51:27ashes, but I moved so many times so I lost them. Oh is
- 51:32that not true? Nice where she lost her dad's ashes? Yeah, she
- 51:38might have. You know, merce is in the purse merse is very very
- 51:45taken care of. Dad really just got thrown around there. He's in a
- 51:50uaul somewhere. Yeah, he's he's in like Tory Spelling's like storage unit,
- 51:55but he's in Candy Spelling lift wrapping room. Let's be Oh. Oh,
- 52:00that's where I want to be. That's my will me too. I would
- 52:06actually be in Kim Kardashians storage because I saw one video of that and I
- 52:09almost died. What's happening over there? I think, you know, look
- 52:15sudden. Maybe there was a lot of guilt also in that, you know
- 52:19that, like I lost my dad's ashes. Whatever. But did you see
- 52:22the preview for next week when she actually releases the ashes? Oh my god,
- 52:24yes, it's like and it's like replaying when Sonya, you know,
- 52:30let gover dogs ashes, right, and then they all land out ashes ever
- 52:34go into the water. I don't know. I think they always just go
- 52:37up. They do because that's where they want to go. And then I
- 52:39think the last thing in the preview was like, oh, they're all over
- 52:43Crystal's back, poor Crystal or blood press. My doctor told me no alcohol
- 52:51or ashes. And next week looks like we're gonna get a little bit more
- 52:55into Kyle's marriage finally, Yes, so that'll be good. That's why we're
- 53:01watching. That is why we're watching. Let me just tell you, guys,
