- 1:18Speaker 1: they know their stuff. So come goes to join Girls
- 1:22Speaker 1: Cone Hallmark. In Facebook groups, we are talking Falling for
- 1:26Speaker 1: Vermont Today. So let's start with a synopsis. A best
- 1:29Speaker 1: selling author who got amnesia as a result of a
- 1:32Speaker 1: car accident finds refuge with a local doctor of an
- 1:36Speaker 1: idyllic small town in Vermont. David Winning directed Falling for Vermont.
- 1:41Speaker 1: He currently has eighty two directing credits, and his resume
- 1:44Speaker 1: is a long list of Hallmark fan favorites, including field Day,
- 1:47Speaker 1: The Nine Kittens of Christmas, and The Twenty Seven Hour Day.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Field Day just rolled right into this when I was
- 1:53Speaker 1: watching a Hallmark plus Oh Today, you sure did, and
- 1:56Speaker 1: I just kept on watching. I like that movie. The
- 1:59Speaker 1: writing team of this movie included Jay Baxter and Sean Zakin,
- 2:03Speaker 1: who wrote a teleplay. The story itself came from Jay,
- 2:06Speaker 1: Sean and Michael G. Larkin, all working together. This was
- 2:11Speaker 1: the only Hallmark movie from Jay Baxter and Sean Zacon.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Michael G. Larkin has a total of six writing credits,
- 2:17Speaker 1: including last Year'stis This Season to be Irish. Julie Gonzalo
- 2:21Speaker 1: plays Angela slash Elizabeth. She has fifty one acting credits
- 2:24Speaker 1: and was last seen in this year's My Argentine Heart.
- 2:27Speaker 1: For another Fall themed option with Julie Chuck Out three,
- 2:29Speaker 1: Bed two Bath one Ghost. While I was writing that,
- 2:31Speaker 1: I was like, not technically fall, but I think Halloween
- 2:36Speaker 1: Spooky counts as fall, don't you think so? Yeah, that's
- 2:39Speaker 1: a good movie too. Benjamin Airs plays Jeff. He has
- 2:43Speaker 1: one hundred and six acting credits and three upcoming Hallmark projects.
- 2:48Speaker 1: A Christmas Angel Match which is newly retitled, and two
- 2:52Speaker 1: more True Justice mystery movies. That's his movie with Megan
- 2:57Speaker 1: or Yes Exciting. Benson plays Brad. Along with acting, he's
- 3:02Speaker 1: also directing two upcoming holiday movies, This Countdown to Christmas,
- 3:05Speaker 1: Christmas Babies and a Royal Montana Christmas Booked and Busy
- 3:09Speaker 1: Mister Benson. Barbara Kottmeyer plays Angela's sister and assistant, Cynthia,
- 3:15Speaker 1: with thirty two acting credits. This was her most recent
- 3:18Speaker 1: Hallmark project. Lauren mcmaarra plays Jeff's daughter Emily. It has
- 3:22Speaker 1: been about five years since her last acting project, but
- 3:24Speaker 1: Lauren did go on to appear in A Wedding of Dreams,
- 3:27Speaker 1: Welcome to Christmas, and Hearts of Winter since this movie.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Christian Michael Cooper plays Jeff's son Alex. His twenty two
- 3:34Speaker 1: acting projects include fifty three episodes of Winn calls the
- 3:37Speaker 1: Heart where he plays the role of Timmy Lawson. Falling
- 3:40Speaker 1: for Vermont originally aired on September twenty third, twenty seventeen.
- 3:43Speaker 1: This movie was filmed in and around Agassy's and Langley,
- 3:47Speaker 1: British Columbia, Canada. We are going to take a quick
- 3:50Speaker 1: break and we're going to be right back with our
- 3:51Speaker 1: first impressions. Hey, Wendy, what was your first impression of
- 4:03Speaker 1: Falling for Vermont? Falling for Vermont more like falling for Jeff. Oops.
- 4:09Speaker 1: I have a lot of thoughts about it. Oh, my
- 4:11Speaker 1: first impression is, Dann, that's a lot of redheads in
- 4:13Speaker 1: one place. Why don't did they noticed? No? Why would you?
- 4:18Speaker 1: There's a lot of redheads at that book convention. Must
- 4:22Speaker 1: have been a family who brought their background actors. Unless
- 4:24Speaker 1: it was intentional, I don't know. Huh. Interesting, All right,
- 4:28Speaker 1: let's talk about what we liked. Well. I like Julian
- 4:32Speaker 1: Ben together, Oh so do I. I thought they had
- 4:36Speaker 1: great falling for you first date chemistry energy. When they're
- 4:40Speaker 1: walking together arm in arm at the Fall Festival, I
- 4:44Speaker 1: was like, I can feel those first date butterflies. I agree.
- 4:48Speaker 1: I did love their chemistry. They clicked for me, the
- 5:00Speaker 1: hesitation in my voice is because I was going to say,
- 5:03Speaker 1: sometimes Homer gives us these pairs out don't really click.
- 5:08Speaker 1: These clicked. They clicked. You know. Last week they had
- 5:11Speaker 1: that zing. They have that zing. Last week I talked
- 5:14Speaker 1: about what was it called Touch of the Day, No, no, no,
- 5:19Speaker 1: the Fall movie that was so Harvest Moove so many
- 5:23Speaker 1: people like and I didn't love like those two Jesse
- 5:28Speaker 1: Shram I love Jesse. I hated this pairing. I don't
- 5:34Speaker 1: want to talk about it, don't want to send me
- 5:36Speaker 1: your emails. But Ben and Julie Brava, Brava. Hey, let's
- 5:43Speaker 1: talk conflict in this movie. I really appreciated it was
- 5:45Speaker 1: not contrived. We had all the information up front. We
- 5:48Speaker 1: know the conflict. She doesn't know who she is. She's
- 5:51Speaker 1: gonna figure it out. There's no silly misunderstanding, there's no
- 5:55Speaker 1: running off. We know that eventually she's gonna figure out
- 6:00Speaker 1: who she is and there's going to be some friction there. Yeah. Yeah,
- 6:04Speaker 1: I really liked the amnesia storyline. Yeah, and I think
- 6:09Speaker 1: sometimes we get these amnesia storylines and someone knows more
- 6:13Speaker 1: than someone else, or they're faked. Yeah. I don't know
- 6:17Speaker 1: if that's something that I've read in a book. It
- 6:19Speaker 1: just felt like we were all on the same page.
- 6:21Speaker 1: Here girl working towards the same thing. I have a
- 6:24Speaker 1: lot of thoughts about the amnesia storyline, but I actually
- 6:27Speaker 1: mostly really worked for me. Yeah. I thought it gave
- 6:30Speaker 1: the movie a little bit of mystery where it's obviously
- 6:34Speaker 1: not a mystery at all. But we have Angela Elizabeth
- 6:38Speaker 1: trying to figure out who she is. Doctor Jeff doesn't
- 6:43Speaker 1: seem like that concern. I don't feel like, No, he
- 6:47Speaker 1: loves her on it, gives her money, he's got her
- 6:50Speaker 1: taking care of his kids. My husband was like, why
- 6:52Speaker 1: are you letting this stranger spend all day with your children?
- 6:55Speaker 1: There is a stranger element that is like, don't you
- 6:58Speaker 1: pause for a second, be like I have no idea
- 7:01Speaker 1: who this person is. Yes, she sows up walking down
- 7:05Speaker 1: the street. I love that scene though, when she's like
- 7:08Speaker 1: walking away like from this like crash, and she's like
- 7:11Speaker 1: the Sheriff's like where are you going? Like she's like
- 7:15Speaker 1: I love that. I thought it was really good. Yeah,
- 7:17Speaker 1: I thought it was really good. Hey, I'd like a
- 7:19Speaker 1: fall fest in my town please. However, we have one
- 7:24Speaker 1: and it falls real flat. When it's in an elementary
- 7:26Speaker 1: school parking lot and not surrounded by fall foliage. Don't worry,
- 7:29Speaker 1: I'm going to talk about the fall foliage, but so bad.
- 7:33Speaker 1: I'm not surrounded by the potential of fall foliage. Huh. Yeah,
- 7:35Speaker 1: it's like on the black top and yeah, yeah. Yeah.
- 7:38Speaker 1: The other day, I was my daughter and I were
- 7:41Speaker 1: in an adjacent city to ours, and they have this
- 7:43Speaker 1: beautiful lake and we were like walking around it, you know,
- 7:45Speaker 1: it's from exercise, and they had this sign about this
- 7:48Speaker 1: like fall festival, and I was like, stop, I have
- 7:51Speaker 1: to come. And then I was like, oh, I'm mester
- 7:52Speaker 1: real crowded though, yes, so I don't want to go. Yes.
- 7:56Speaker 1: My husband said the same thing. He's like, see, don't
- 7:59Speaker 1: you want to go there? And we have one in
- 8:00Speaker 1: the neighborhood. He's like, what with four hundred thousand people? No,
- 8:03Speaker 1: thank you. Yeah, it's just because we don't live in
- 8:05Speaker 1: a small town, right with two hundred people? Right? Yeah?
- 8:09Speaker 1: I know. So do they need a bigger location for
- 8:15Speaker 1: these festivals in our towns or do they need more
- 8:19Speaker 1: of them? Look, they do want they do one in
- 8:21Speaker 1: a very big location near here. It's just too many people.
- 8:24Speaker 1: There's two, many people live where we live. Yeah, even
- 8:26Speaker 1: when you try and recreate that small town feel, we
- 8:29Speaker 1: don't live in a small town. And I think this
- 8:33Speaker 1: will go too far off the rails. But I do
- 8:35Speaker 1: think we have eliminated a lot of the fun, free
- 8:40Speaker 1: ways we used to exist. Like everything to do costs
- 8:43Speaker 1: money now, and so I think when you have an
- 8:47Speaker 1: event like that, people swarm. Yeah, because everyone's just looking
- 8:51Speaker 1: for something to do. Yeah, maybe you need to take
- 8:54Speaker 1: it like urban sprawl thoughts with Megan and Andy not you,
- 8:58Speaker 1: but maybe maybe it needs to be like a neighborhood thing. Yeah,
- 9:03Speaker 1: we have one in our neighborhood too. It's it's it
- 9:05Speaker 1: falls flat. It's an Orange County suburban neighborhood. We don't
- 9:09Speaker 1: have the vibes and it's ninety degree exactly. Okay. One
- 9:14Speaker 1: thing I really liked was this cute fashion tryon scene
- 9:17Speaker 1: in the Thirst store. Really loved it. I just she's
- 9:21Speaker 1: so freaking cute, and I just love that she put
- 9:24Speaker 1: on all these outfits like trying to figure out like
- 9:27Speaker 1: what feels like her, and they're all they're not like
- 9:31Speaker 1: over the top, but like at some point, like she's
- 9:33Speaker 1: got these huge stilettos on. I was like, who's speaking,
- 9:36Speaker 1: who's choosing that? Like that's what you think that? You
- 9:39Speaker 1: think she's a badass business woman in her other life maybe?
- 9:43Speaker 1: And then like she comes out in a very like
- 9:46Speaker 1: suburban mom outfit something I would have worn eight years
- 9:49Speaker 1: ago in twenty seventeen. Have a little ankle boot and
- 9:52Speaker 1: a skinny jean and a long a printed blouse. I
- 9:56Speaker 1: had a closet full of those. They do with an
- 10:01Speaker 1: open cardigan. Yeah, I mean, did you hear the green
- 10:05Speaker 1: jackets coming back to Oh? I still have mine? I
- 10:08Speaker 1: don't have mine anymore, but I was like, hell, yeah,
- 10:11Speaker 1: that was a look I really liked. I still own mine.
- 10:13Speaker 1: I never stopped wearing it. Sorry, I feel like it's
- 10:16Speaker 1: a classic you mean, like the cargo green Yeah, the
- 10:21Speaker 1: cargamp jacket. Yeah, yeah, yeah, but it was in this
- 10:25Speaker 1: cute fashion Trian saying that I really liked on her
- 10:27Speaker 1: last outfit. When she comes out, she's like, I think
- 10:29Speaker 1: this is it. She's so happy. But the way that
- 10:33Speaker 1: Ben Slash Jeff looks at her, he's like it's like
- 10:36Speaker 1: he finally sees her. Yeah, even though she's in like
- 10:39Speaker 1: a total nothing of an outfit, right, there's nothing spectacular
- 10:42Speaker 1: about it. But he looks like she's just stepped out
- 10:45Speaker 1: in her lbed. Exactly do you think in his mind,
- 10:49Speaker 1: he's like, there's my mother replacement. There she is, this
- 10:55Speaker 1: was the mother for my children's Why do it? What
- 11:00Speaker 1: happened to his wife? I don't remember she died, Yeah,
- 11:04Speaker 1: that's what I thought she died anyway. Anyway, speaking of
- 11:09Speaker 1: the kids, I did really like her relationship with his
- 11:14Speaker 1: daughter m I thought it was very sweet how they
- 11:18Speaker 1: have this growing bond over like developing like this story
- 11:22Speaker 1: and it was cute, like it really led into like, oh,
- 11:26Speaker 1: this is who Angela is, right, like that part of
- 11:31Speaker 1: her wasn't lost even though she didn't remember it. I
- 11:36Speaker 1: liked it. I like, I thought it was like a
- 11:38Speaker 1: sweet little extra layer. I mean, the son doesn't get
- 11:41Speaker 1: a lot of like no, but it's this mother daughter,
- 11:44Speaker 1: this real sweet well it's tuck wishes. Okay. You know,
- 11:48Speaker 1: every time Peter Benson comes on screen, I'm like, Peter Benson.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Can't It's like a tick. I can't. I can't stop myself.
- 11:53Speaker 1: And I am always thrilled to see Peter Benson on screen.
- 11:55Speaker 1: But damn, that guy could not have cared less about
- 11:57Speaker 1: his girlfriend. Okay, so this is one of my biggest wishes.
- 12:01Speaker 1: I freaking hate that Brad, Peter Benson and the sister
- 12:08Speaker 1: they're just like part of this machine to make Angela
- 12:11Speaker 1: this like superstar. She is telling you, I don't want
- 12:16Speaker 1: to do this. I want to and I'm not dismissing.
- 12:20Speaker 1: I just want to be a writer, like she just
- 12:22Speaker 1: wants to write books. She doesn't want to do the
- 12:25Speaker 1: whole thing. Listen to her. And instead, when she runs
- 12:29Speaker 1: away and steals your car, which should be like the
- 12:32Speaker 1: ultimate moment where we go, oh, obviously she's not okay
- 12:36Speaker 1: with this. They think she out. They just keep the
- 12:39Speaker 1: machine churning behind the scenes instead of making almost no
- 12:42Speaker 1: effort to go look for her. And even when the
- 12:44Speaker 1: sister finally hits a wall and is like, maybe we
- 12:47Speaker 1: should do something about this, Brad's like, Nana, give her
- 12:50Speaker 1: a few more days. I feel zero percent bad for
- 12:54Speaker 1: him that she moved on. They did not have a relationship.
- 12:56Speaker 1: He was a business partner. I hear you say that,
- 13:00Speaker 1: and I counter with, let's hear it. I don't counter with.
- 13:04Speaker 1: My concern is here comes this woman full amnesia. She
- 13:09Speaker 1: falls for doctor Jeff. She doesn't pause for one second
- 13:14Speaker 1: and go, I wonder if I come from a life
- 13:17Speaker 1: where I'm married or I have children, maybe I should
- 13:20Speaker 1: not move forward with these feelings I'm having for some
- 13:25Speaker 1: random stranger I just met, because who knows what my
- 13:27Speaker 1: other life looks like. I totally agree with you. When
- 13:30Speaker 1: they almost kiss, they don't kiss in that moment, right,
- 13:32Speaker 1: but they almost kiss and they stop. I was like,
- 13:34Speaker 1: wait a minute, exactly, do not get into a relationship
- 13:39Speaker 1: while you don't have any idea who you are. I
- 13:41Speaker 1: fully agree with you. It's not like I know she
- 13:43Speaker 1: just bumped her head, but it's not like she doesn't
- 13:45Speaker 1: have any common sense here to be like, wait before
- 13:49Speaker 1: I jump into something, I have no idea who I
- 13:53Speaker 1: am or what is waiting for me. Yeah, I just
- 13:55Speaker 1: feel like I don't like that, you know? Was my thought.
- 14:01Speaker 1: She's in the hospital or the doctor's office. After they
- 14:03Speaker 1: found her on the side of the road, I was thinking,
- 14:06Speaker 1: what are they gonna what are they gonna do with her?
- 14:07Speaker 1: She doesn't have a wallet, she doesn't have a phone,
- 14:09Speaker 1: she doesn't know who she is. Obviously, it's a Hallmark movie.
- 14:11Speaker 1: So this guy's got a back house, miraculously, and she's
- 14:14Speaker 1: gonna go stay there. This is like never kiss a
- 14:16Speaker 1: man in a Christmas sweater. Ash Williams moves the guy
- 14:18Speaker 1: into her back house because she hits them of the
- 14:20Speaker 1: Christmas tree or do you remember those details of a
- 14:22Speaker 1: movie we did not enjoy. I think I may have
- 14:25Speaker 1: seen it recently or that part of it. But the
- 14:27Speaker 1: whole thing is like she's trying to make it up
- 14:30Speaker 1: to him, so she moves him into her backhouse. But
- 14:32Speaker 1: I'm thinking, what would happen? What would happen? You have
- 14:35Speaker 1: no identifying nothing to identify you, not a dollar to
- 14:39Speaker 1: your name. What would happen to you? What would they
- 14:42Speaker 1: do to you? Who's they? You're in the hospital and
- 14:45Speaker 1: they say you've got amnesia. We don't know. Do they
- 14:47Speaker 1: keep you in the hospital? They just keep you there,
- 14:49Speaker 1: don't they? I don't know. I really idea to wonder
- 14:52Speaker 1: what would happen. I have no idea. She would just
- 14:54Speaker 1: be this Jane Doe. It would be all over the news,
- 14:57Speaker 1: would it not? Perhaps this a woman came out of
- 15:00Speaker 1: the woods after an accident and has no idea, does
- 15:03Speaker 1: not know who she is, Like, help us identify her?
- 15:06Speaker 1: I think it would be news. I was very worried
- 15:08Speaker 1: about that. Yeah, I have so many questions for jujitsu.
- 15:11Speaker 1: That's okay. How long was she unconscious in her car
- 15:15Speaker 1: before she started walking on the road in broad daylight?
- 15:17Speaker 1: She crashes in the middle of the night. She's unconscious
- 15:20Speaker 1: for hours, and then just hours stumbles out in the
- 15:24Speaker 1: mid morning. She's bleeding out from her head. Another time, inconsistency.
- 15:29Speaker 1: When she gets to Jess's house the first day when
- 15:31Speaker 1: she's found, he's like, we're gonna have dinner, or if
- 15:33Speaker 1: you want to go to bed, you can go to bed,
- 15:34Speaker 1: and she like yawns, and so she goes to bed.
- 15:36Speaker 1: It is still light outside. It is fall in Vermont,
- 15:39Speaker 1: when the sun sets very early. It's no later than
- 15:42Speaker 1: four pm in that house. And she goes to bed.
- 15:44Speaker 1: And the next one she's like, I got a whole
- 15:45Speaker 1: ten hours of sleep. I was like, girlfriend, you must
- 15:48Speaker 1: have gotten like seventeen hours a week based on that timeline.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Let's talk about the leaves. I mean, I think I
- 15:54Speaker 1: saw a digital leave fall behind right. The leaf miming
- 16:02Speaker 1: Wendy just did was really a plus. You know, it's
- 16:05Speaker 1: so bad because they plant these like singular bunches of
- 16:09Speaker 1: leaves that might just be seen like over the person's head.
- 16:12Speaker 1: But when they pan back, yeah, it's this enormous field
- 16:15Speaker 1: of evergreens with just this like poof of like orange leaves.
- 16:19Speaker 1: It's like they walked into the freaking hobby lobby or
- 16:22Speaker 1: Michael's and just was like, get that tree and we're
- 16:25Speaker 1: gonna use it in all these spots. Put the tree
- 16:28Speaker 1: over the house. Oh my god, it's so singular, bunch
- 16:32Speaker 1: of orange leaves. It's real bad. This place is beautiful.
- 16:35Speaker 1: I would imagine in the fall it is quite nice,
- 16:38Speaker 1: but it was not fall. But can I stop you? Though,
- 16:43Speaker 1: I don't feel like I've ever seen I've seen digital snow,
- 16:46Speaker 1: but I don't know if I've ever seen a digital leaf.
- 16:49Speaker 1: I don't know for real. I was like somebody in
- 16:53Speaker 1: editing was like really proud and fat, and I was like,
- 16:57Speaker 1: oh my god, just don't just don't just don't it
- 17:02Speaker 1: better left alone? Yes? Go ahead? What else? The Little
- 17:06Speaker 1: Boys pumpkin was such a fake pumpkin, Like the top
- 17:09Speaker 1: wasn't even cut off. It was like a plastic pumpkin
- 17:12Speaker 1: that you buy at the craft store that you stick
- 17:15Speaker 1: up tea light in probably had one built in. I
- 17:18Speaker 1: was like, come, on. Yeah, there were a lot of
- 17:20Speaker 1: like porch shots that had just like lots of fake
- 17:24Speaker 1: pumpkins on it, Like you can't. I mean, I don't
- 17:29Speaker 1: know what time of the year, summer, this is summer.
- 17:31Speaker 1: Pumpkins don't exist in summertime. I'm sure they do. No, Yeah,
- 17:37Speaker 1: they grow up until the all season vegetable or it's
- 17:41Speaker 1: a fruit, it's a fruit as a seed. They grow
- 17:43Speaker 1: up until the fall season. Then they cut them and
- 17:45Speaker 1: deliver them. I don't think pumpkins are readily available, I
- 17:49Speaker 1: do that. I don't know, but unless you got a
- 17:52Speaker 1: pumpkin farm, which you think they could find in Vermont? Wait, no, Canada.
- 17:58Speaker 1: In Langley, British Columbia. When she arrives at the expo,
- 18:01Speaker 1: there are so many redheads, like it's a sea of redheads.
- 18:04Speaker 1: I'm so sorry I didn't notice. I don't really care. Also,
- 18:07Speaker 1: I would like to know why doesn't she have her
- 18:09Speaker 1: own car? Why does she have to borrow re Stitcher's
