[upbeat music] Ah, ah, ahoy, hoy, everybody.
• 0:18
Welcome to the Full Spectrum Cycling podcast, show number 23. Oh, my. Oh. Already past old enough to drink. Michael Jordan numbered. Oh, yeah. For sure. We're leaving the front door open today.
• 0:32
We'll have the sounds of the city rambling through the River West studio and bike shop at his Everyday Cycles. It's good little ambient white noise. Right? And it's actually a little cooler outside than inside now.
• 0:45
[laughs] Oh, yeah. [laughs] Plus the traffic isn't- This is selfish [laughs]... quite as, it's not a- as insane as it was earlier. There was a good screeching, not quite crashing sound out there today. Hm. Squeaking?
• 0:56
I... There hasn't been an accident this week yet, has there? Uh, I have not... While I was working, there has not been an accident, but there were several squeaks. Yep. They got that going for 'em. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
• 1:06
Right on, right on. Well, I don't know, it seems like a lot has happened since last show. Mm-hmm. And wasn't that a good show, last one? It's a good show. Thanks for pointing out it wasn't on the website yet.
• 1:17
[laughs] Yeah, it was not on the website, nor any of the pictures, but I still listened to it and found it very entertaining. Yeah, it always goes up on fatbike.com first,
• 1:26
and then once it's there for a couple days, it kind of meanders over to the- Ah...
• 1:31
Everyday Cycles site, the Full Spectrum Cycling podcast Facebook page, the Everyday Cycles Facebook page, my personal Facebook page- Mm... and any other Facebook pages that you might wanna share- Facebook is... yonder.
• 1:43
Full Spectrum Cycling podcast on... Oh, cripes. Oh, cripes. We got a helicopter in here. Oh, he's being attacked. It's a heli- Oh, oh, wow... it's a heli- It's a landed... it's a helicopter. What is that thing?
• 1:52
It's just- I don't know, but it... I think it- It's a fly... deployed payload upon your brow there. Oh, no. [laughs] Son of the gun. [laughs] Stay away, you bastard. It pooped on Greg.
• 2:03
Or it- You frigging bastard, I'll put your bells in a sling... or put a lot of eggs on you. [laughs] Who knows? Got the- Now, now to watch how many times he scratches himself. Right? [laughs] Of course.
• 2:14
With, with eggs going into the- [laughs]... furrowed brow where Carl Caputa put a big old dent in my head- [laughs]... in sixth grade by... No, that was eighth grade. Is that guy still alive?
• 2:24
Same guy in sixth grade trips me on the floor, granite floor of the school. I'm going, chip my front tooth. Eighth grade, we're going through a door.
• 2:33
They didn't have windows on doors back then, and he kicked the door open. I was coming the other way, wham, right in my- Oh... right in my eyebrow and cut up my eyebrow. Did you kick his ass? That was...
• 2:41
The first one was on purpose, the second one [laughs] was an accident. Prob- We were always kicking those doors trying to catch somebody on the other side, though. Yeah.
• 2:48
Then they finally put windows on 'em and it, you could s- Yeah... you know. Made too easy. Right on. So- Here we are again. Yeah. Hey, my, my wife gets home tomorrow. Wow. That's a fun trip.
• 3:01
So pretty much since the last show she's been gone. And? And they went out west to do a thing for my daughter, who got a grant from her university to do some photo study of a Ansel Adams kind of thingy.
• 3:14
So the boy and I were bachelors. Chilling. [laughs] What's the best thing you guys ate while they were gone? Best thing we ate? I don't know, Upper Crust Pizza's pretty freaking good. Oh, there you go.
• 3:25
[laughs] That is pretty good. That said, we did some other good meals, too. Um- Did you make it to, uh, Extra Crispy Brass Bed? No. Okay. Could've, would've, didn't. Same here. Yeah.
• 3:36
[laughs] It was on the radar, but never, uh, transpired. That was the pizza night, so. Gotcha. Yeah. Once- That's a good trade-off... once a couple slices of that and I'm, I'm not going that far. No. [laughs] Yeah, yeah.
• 3:46
On the first weekend, we went and did a whirlwind tour of mountain bike trails in Wisconsin. He is now more interested in mountain biking than he was last year.
• 3:57
So after we did his, um, NICA practice on Saturday morning, we went up to Levis, did some riding, set up our tents, slept through three quarters of an inch of rain or whatever,
• 4:08
and then we woke up the next day where the trails were not in great shape. So we booked over to Wausau, where it hadn't rained as much. Wausau? Did, um, Sylvan Hill, which is a downhill place pretty much.
• 4:19
It's like a bike park. And then Reforestation Camp in Green Bay. Mm. And then home. Nice. He loved, he loved Sylvan. He was like- Yeah, he, he came in, um, whatever it, Monday, and he seemed pretty stoked about riding.
• 4:33
Yeah. That's cool. He, he- That's always cool. Yep. He loved Sylvan. E- even though there's, you know, y- it's 350 vertical feet or something and you gotta ride up.
• 4:40
There's no lift or truck or electric bike to get you to the top. But, uh, the going down part's pretty sweet. Always is. I, for my part, I don't know, we rode Minooka last weekend, and that, I like Minooka.
• 4:55
That's some nice trails out there. I recommend Minooka for you people. Kobe, I'm su- throwing a shout-out to Kobe and Sean. They were at, uh, The Kettles, and they had a good time. No way. Which one? Which Kettles?
• 5:07
South. The only Kettles, in my opinion. [laughs] Oh, Newfane is- North, North is pretty good, but- Newfane is awesome. Um- North, North is good, but Kettles South, you know, when you got a fat bike. Yeah.
• 5:18
And it's not a weekend, because weekends get pretty- Yeah... pretty fibbed up over there. True. But, uh, Newfane is good, North. Uh, Greenbush, mm, it's great, but it's really rough now.
• 5:30
It's, like, not as maintained as it had been in the past. It's rough. Rough. That's a place I could almost see a full suspension bike just because of the constant ba, ba, ba, ba, ba, ba, ba, ba, ba, ba, ba. Right, right.
• 5:40
Enjoy it a little bit better. Speaking of bikes, not quite full suspension, look at that chumba over there. Look at that thing. What we didn't talk about- You know, it, it's got some pretty lame wheels on it.
• 5:48
It's almost like you have another set of wheels ready to go on it. Hey-oh. Those are, uh, takeoffs from a Surly, uh, what's that thing called? I don't know. Uh, you know, Karate Monkey. That it. So they're decent wheels.
• 6:02
Yeah. And they're the right size, so. But, but in comparison- Yeah, I d- I, I did get a set of Onyx wheels built by those fine folks at Onyx Racing with their... I didn't do the new Vesper hub.
• 6:14
I was like, "You know what? I like the, I like the classic hub. I'm gonna stick with it." But they have a new fancy- They have, they have Nort there, right? They're into Minnesota over there. Yeah, they-
• 6:23
That thing is now in my ear. It's not under my... I can hear him over here. No, no. It was just under your arm. Freaking frack. [laughs] Go by the mic. Hey, hey, fly.
• 6:32
Get over by the microphone and, uh, tell us what's up. [imitates fly buzzing] I, I'm a human fly. I say [imitates buzzing] [laughs] and it's just because- You missed that intro...
• 6:43
I'm an unzipped fly, and I don't know why. Yeah, I, I know the- [singing] I've got 96 tears and 96 eyes, oh. I know the song, I just don't know it that well. [laughs] Such a great intro.
• 6:55
Pass the, the I'm a human fly part. [laughs] I say buzz, buzz, buzz. [laughs] Buzz. I'm coming on through all your private stuff. You better come down and pound me. Pound me now. [laughs] Buzz's Garage, man. Right on.
• 7:10
Right on. It's so good. [laughs] So good. All you listeners out there, if you don't listen to WMSC, why not? When, when you're not- Right... listening to us.
• 7:18
And the good thing about wmc.org is that you can do it anywhere in the entire world. Exactly. And they have, like- Ev- How far back do their archives go? It's a good decade. Eh? More. Yeah, you can get, like, shows.
• 7:31
It's incredible. It's, it's unbelievable. Yeah, I, I, I remember, I, I, I had put a pin in, uh, whatever Crawford's show was the day, uh, Prince died, 'cause that was like a, this insane- And it was fantastic...
• 7:42
like, three-hour tribute. That one and David Bowie. Yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah... the David Bowie show was off the hook, too. Well, that day, I think they just- Yeah...
• 7:50
everybody was- Yeah, it was everybody, yeah, but- [laughs] Anyways, WMSC, 91.7. WMSC.org. Great radio station. Thank you for existing.
• 7:58
Hey, even if you don't live in Milwaukee, you can still sponsor that fine radio station. And you should. I, I have- Speaking of-... for 15 years... WMSC, 3... What is it? Wait, wait. 3:00 AM on Saturday nights? 25 years.
• 8:10
Uh, yeah. Bre- Is that when, is that when J- JB is, John Bulecki is, uh- Brew City Brutality? Who brought us the fine Als- uh, All Day IPAs for today's show. By Cracky. All Day IPA. He is a Sound Citizen. Great.
• 8:21
Does he actual- Does he... Oh, you have your Sound Citizen guard? Yeah. Yeah. Nice. Have your dog tag? Oh, he's a sustaining member, yo. I'm a sustaining member. So, uh- I have dog tags...
• 8:29
John Bulecki owns Forward Messenger Service, or is it Forward Deliver... What? It's, uh- Courier... Courier. Forward Courier. Forward Courier here in Milwaukee, and is a bullet bike aficionado. Yeah.
• 8:40
And still owes me a key for my freaking Abus lock, by the way. Ha, hey, John, take care of that key. Hey, John, bring me my key. Right? Oh. But, uh, he's also a metal, a metal DJ 3:00 to 6:00 AM- AM...
• 8:51
on Saturday- Saturday... night, Sunday morning... Sunday morning. After working a full shift at Fink's, which is a local watering hole. I'm just gonna throw this. Have you ever seen John eat? Mm-hmm. Oh, yeah. Mm-hmm.
• 9:02
I don't know how he can fit that much in... He's got a hollow leg, for sure. Uh, he, he had a triple Oscar's Big O. Went there with my son yesterday. Mm, I love that place. Oh, shout out to Oscar's. [whistles] Ooh.
• 9:17
Os- Oscar actually delivered our burgers and Da- at- Oh, nice... Derek goes, "Who, who was that guy?" I go, "Well, that's the guy that owns the place." That's the guy that owns it.
• 9:23
[laughs] He should have enough space in there to deliver via Harley, 'cause he's such a Harley nut. That would be a good idea. You know? Straight from- His next shop... the kitchen to the table.
• 9:31
His next shop will have a Harley delivery service. He's probably gonna have to pay a royalty on that idea. Probably. [laughs] Probably. And he'll still make money. [laughs] Yeah, right. Um, so Steel is Real's coming up.
• 9:44
Yes, sir. SIR. See? Steel is Real. Sir. S- uh, sir. Ah, ah, ah. Nice. Have you ordered your shirt, JK? 'Cause I've ordered mine, and I know Gregory over there has ordered his.
• 9:55
I just noticed that they were made available here at Everyday Cycles. Yep. I- Off the site. You don't even have to do the ride. You can just get yourself a Steel is Real- Yeah, no kidding... 2019 edition.
• 10:05
I opted for the long-sleeve black American Apparel. Right on. I tried a couple different ones just to see how they print and- Yeah...
• 10:13
how they work and have a couple extras for- I already have a blaze orange from a couple of years ago. Yeah. Yeah. So- Same here... I went with all black.
• 10:19
The orange was mostly because it worked well with the purple and the, and the logo. I totally agree with that. Right on. Keep it town out there. What it? What? Hey, some- Hey, crank it up, man. Yeah. What is that?
• 10:31
Turn it up. Um- Turn it up. It's that new song. So yeah, black or, black or orange. I, you know, I kinda made some choices. Um- I like 'em... short sleeve, long sleeve. These are print on demand.
• 10:41
They're from a place I've been working with for years. They do a great job. And, uh, I like screen printing, but, uh, I don't like inventory, so- [laughs]... you know, this is the way to go.
• 10:51
Delivered right to your house, folks. Yep. Don't even have to be on the ride. But if you are on the ride and you're wearing your 2019 edition, I'll buy you a beer. [smacks lips] That's a good call.
• 11:00
Anybody- I, I have a question. I've, I've been approached by a couple of people that I've been promoting this event for, and I fully realize that technically speaking, this is a steel-only ride. Mm-hmm.
• 11:13
[imitates buzzing] But several of the people that wanna come on it with me, because they're my friends and family, would like to do it, but they may only have bikes made of aluminum.
• 11:24
Maybe they could tape a piece of steel on it and have a magnet on it so that it looks... I don't know. I- The only- Here's, here's what I can say. There will be, traditionally, there's judging for- Steel bike...
• 11:34
best rust bucket, best bagel wheel, you know, 20-inch wheel or whatever, uh, whatever the size is. Best tandem, best old, you know, old road bike. You're just not gonna get judging. Right.
• 11:46
You know, who- It's a free city and- We want everyone to come and have fun regardless- Yeah, yeah... of what they're riding, unless it's carbon. And then fuck you. Right. [laughs] Oh. [laughs] Ooh, that's why- Woo...
• 11:55
that's why it's got explicit. Dang. [laughs] Dang, Skippy, [laughs] man, I'll tell you. Sorry. 30 Guys Explicit. My old loud voice. My old loud voice came out. So, um, it's a free ride this year.
• 12:04
I didn't charge any registration. We're not gonna make it all... You know, either you show up and ride or you don't, and it's a free city, so if you want- It's 20, 25-ish miles? Yeah, 21 to 25.
• 12:15
We're gonna- Somewhere in that... we're gonna pre-ride the west portion of the course. We already have the east version down, like, six times. Right. [laughs] That's the simple part. Yeah.
• 12:23
We've, we've been to the palapa, like, six times. "Oh, hey, Pat, are you still gonna be here?" "Pat, we're gonna start. Oh, we're still here. Oh, are you sure you're gonna be here?"
• 12:31
[laughs] Saturday- Just wanna knock that in. [laughs]... this Saturday, the pre-ride is also the backyard barbecue? Uh, yes. That's going on down there. Ooh. That's down by Humboldt Park. Yep.
• 12:41
That's on the- It's on the south side. There's some great bands playing this year. Well, just knowing the, the flight plan- Oh, yeah... we end up down there- Yeah... just to the south. Which, I mean, I- So...
• 12:52
not one of those people that really cares about if we give the route out ahead of time, but I'm not gonna tell you exact- [laughs] You know where we're going. We know where we're going. Yeah.
• 12:59
It's gonna be- You're gonna have fun. Yeah... it's gonna be freaking traditional. There's gonna be some optional off-road sections,
• 13:05
uh, so it'll be pretty fun for those that know those sections that are on more mountainous bikes. And then there's always a road option. Oh, yeah.
• 13:14
Um, none of these are really long sections, but they're fun, and they're in the middle of the city. And you get a taste of the true underbelly- Yeah... of the olden days. As it should be. Not... Yeah, not we're...
• 13:24
This is gonna be a 40 to 50 person ride, I would imagine, if that. Maybe. It... You know what? It all depends on the weather. Yeah. Right. If it's a bluebird day- Could be, yeah... 60 people. Yep. Who knows? Yep.
• 13:34
But, uh, I've talked to all the people so far except for one near the Forest Home Cemetery. [laughs] So we haven't talked to Marge yet, but otherwise everybody knows. She'll be fine. And we're gonna go do the
• 13:46
three stops on Saturday. Yeah. It's Tony's birthday weekend coming up. It is. Which may entail him not making the pre-ride. [laughs] We'll see. We'll see. Uh, Ken Nielsen said, "No, I gotta work. Ugh." Where?
• 14:03
At freaking the bar? No, he has to work at UW 'cause they're getting people coming up. Oh, 'cause they're gonna open up. Oh. That's right. Okay, Kenny, you get, you get a pass. Wait- waiting for students.
• 14:12
You get a pass for that one. Waiting for the students to come in. Mm. I, I can justify that. Mm. As much as it sucks, I understand. I do too. See that, uh, Brooks seat up there? That's Ken's seat. The one that got...
• 14:24
Did they, did they warrant it? Oh, yeah. Oh, nice. Nice. Yeah. Some of the- Oh, he's gonna be stoked for that. Some of the- Kenny... some of the older Cambiums had a little issue up by the schnoz there.
• 14:35
I think they probably have it covered. E- either, either that or they just warranty him anyway. It's usually because they moved it- I love them...
• 14:41
because it was on top of the f- or it was underneath the fan, and they wanted to redo the fan. No, that's 'cause kinda hiding it from him, but he didn't even know it was here. Ken. I guess my picture didn't send. Ken.
• 14:49
What's with pictures not sending? The internet, I think, is broken. I... You know, I've been... Y- you know, I sent you those pictures yesterday, and they took f- forever to get to you.
• 14:57
Rusty did it with, uh, the guy that pulled the drain pipe off the side of the building. Those took, like, six hours to get to my phone.
• 15:04
Some guy at 2:30 in the morning just decided to pull the drain pipe from the awning on front of the building off the building. [laughs] It's like, "Hey- He may have been drunk... I got nothing better to do.
• 15:12
I'ma pull this dang old drain pipe off." He, he looked like a pretty big drunk dude. I'm thinking he just went up there to hang on the drain pipe and it ripped off, and then he's like, [laughs]
• 15:20
"Let's just, let us pull that thing off a little more." Let's just keep- Probably cracked his head open. I hope so.
• 15:25
'Cause if I see him, I'm gonna crack his head open with the part of the drain pipe that's left in the back corner. Skull head. Do you want another funcussion?
• 15:32
[percussive music] Hey, speaking of funcussions, uh, I did the NICA training for level one coach, which is the entry level to be a NICA coach for your mountain biking brethren, children, friends.
• 15:45
You don't even have to have kids, you can be a coach. But one of the things is a concussion protocol training. I wonder how many times they said concussion in this training protocol. Probably 1,000-plus times. No way.
• 15:57
In, like, 40 minutes. I, I don't know how many times you can say concussion, concussion, concussion. Concussion. I get a concussion just listening to it.
• 16:04
I think, yeah, we're gonna hear it throughout the show- Yeah, yeah, that's what I was wondering... concussion. Yeah. So, but- I was gonna say Lost Boys with Michael. Yeah. Motherfucker. Michael, Michael, Michael.
• 16:10
Look, Michael, you're eating- Michael, you're eating maggots, Michael... Michael, Michael, you're eating maggots. Isn't that a drinking game? Concussion drink. Well, it, it became one- You're having a concussion drink...
• 16:17
yeah, it became it on one, one viewing, [laughs] where it's like- Yeah... "No, I can only do, like, one scene"... look what you did. Now I wanna watch Lost Boys again. That's what I'm here for, bro.
• 16:25
Well, nobody doesn't wanna watch Lost Boys again. I know. It's Hey, have either... Any of you guys watched Halfworlds yet? No. Do, do you still have HBO? Nope. I do not. Oh. It's an HBO thing. It's at, it's HBO Asia.
• 16:36
It's pretty cool. It's got kind of a comic book kinda theme to it, and there's some cut scenes that are comics. Mm. But it's, uh, the, the Met and the human. Just so you know, it's like a, kind of a,
• 16:50
I don't know- Warrior... immortal and human thing. It's not quite- Netflix has got- Born to Be Kings- Netflix has got that going on right now... we are princes of the universe. I like it because, uh, it's, it's cool.
• 17:01
Halfworlds. Give it a go. Yep. Netflix has got it called the Woo Assassin. I like Woo Assassins. Not bad. It's pretty good. Not bad. Oh, I never started that. It's all right. Give Woo Assassins a go. It's all right.
• 17:11
It's okay. I haven't gotten sick of it yet, and I'm on, like, four or five now. Molly's like, "It's the same as Golden Fist." I'm like, "It's totally different." Do not know Golden Fist.
• 17:18
Don't, don't even say it's like Golden Fist. It's totally different. Iron Fist? Is it Iron Fist? Is that what it is with the dude? The man with the iron fist. Part of the, uh, Marvel universe. Marvel? Yeah. Iron Fist.
• 17:31
It's not Golden Fist? That's he's, he wears a, he wear, he wears, like, he wears a golden bandana. Oh, maybe. Oh, okay. [laughs] All right. Yeah, she, she tried to call it out being the same, but shout out to Molly.
• 17:42
It's not the same. No, no, just, just putting a, like- Yeah... flag on the play. So did we talk about, did we talk about Daikaiju on the show yet? No. We have not.
• 17:52
Did we talk about it before- Oh, well, last, last show... before the show? Well, it's happening tomorrow, so this will already be in the past- Yeah, yeah... when you hear this, but- Attack...
• 18:00
by cracky, Daikaiju attacks Milwaukee- Again... at the X-Ray Arcade. Again. Go. Go. And it is also a stop on the underwear ride. Yep. It is gonna be- Of Milwaukee... such a great night. You know what the low is?
• 18:16
For tomorrow night? 50. 55. [laughs] Oh, Lord. Yeah. So your ride home might be a bit nipple. Long underwear ride then. Long underwear ride. Oh, I carry a backpack- I can do that, I'm-... with clothes in it...
• 18:28
I have a Mormon background. Yeah. I can do the long underwear thing. [laughs] Hey, that's not a bad idea. It's not the first time I've done a, it would, it would not be- These are my, this is my ensemble... yeah.
• 18:37
These are my magic underwears. [laughs] I've got my rash guard. It's white and looks underwear-ish. It, it, it will not be the first time that I would have ridden the underpants ride with long underwear on.
• 18:49
It, you know, but- Spon- SpongeBob underwear pants ride... show up at the show. Show up at, at, uh, Mothership. Ride to the show. It's gonna be early. It's mid, mid ride, so it's starting at 8:00, 7:00, 8:00.
• 19:04
Put on your clothes afterwards [laughs] and get back to River West. [laughs] Well, that gives us time to see some other shows. 'Cause it'll be chilly.
• 19:10
I, I wouldn't mind checking out Gold or getting back to, uh- Or the other-... Tiki Lounge... surf band at the, yeah, at the tiki bar. Oh, yeah. Yeah, tiki bar. A lot of stuff going on on a Thursday night. Yeah. Weird.
• 19:19
Right? Weird. Tons of stuff. Lots of stuff. Thirsty Thursday. Speaking of thirsty, I'm gonna go grab us more beer. [gasps] Right on. Who's talking? JK. Who, who do you know wants a beer? What are you thinking about?
• 19:30
I have my hand up- All right, you-... for a beer. Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, Mr. Cotter. JK, what you been up to? Oh, Mr. Cotter. Oh, that- It means the cattle are dying. I gotta stretch out before doing that.
• 19:40
[laughs] Horshack's a very respectable name. It means the cattle are dying. [laughs] It's one of my favorite shows from Welcome Back, Kotter. I just always loved Juan Epstein- What?...
• 19:53
who's just like, "I resent that I'm a Puerto Rican Jew." Right. [laughs] What? [laughs] Just like- When? It just rolled. Who? It just rolled perfectly. You could never, ever make that show- Who?... today. Oh. Yeah.
• 20:06
No way. No way. Thank you. Too many do-gooders. Well, especially because, you know- Ho, ho, ho, ho, ho [laughs]...
• 20:12
let, let, let's delve into this, but, you know, John Travolta being a Scientologist now or whatever the flying fuck he is, yeah, that would never happen. Maybe he wasn't a Scientologist back then. Well, he wasn't.
• 20:22
That's why he did it. It drove him to it. Now he has his own, what, 737 that he flies out of his garage. And kisses his pilot. Hey, Scientology's the right thing- He kisses the pilot. I saw it...
• 20:32
for the people at the top, I'll, I'll tell you that much. [laughs] This is what I think about Scientologists. [slurps] [exhales] Speaking of Scientology, we could talk about that weekly now, starting September 4th.
• 20:45
When we start this podcast weekly? Right. I like that idea. My, my theory on this weekly thing is people will be able to figure out that we're doing this at 7:00 PM Central Standard Time every Wednesday,
• 20:57
and they can call us at 717-727-2453. Pike. 2453. Pike. That spells pike. Yeah. I was hoping- I like it... you know, by making it weekly, it would make it easier for people to remember to call in.
• 21:10
Otherwise, you know, I guess I could call people. Like Big Zach said last week, was he fun or what? He was fun. I think we'll give him a shout next show again.
• 21:18
We also need to thank- See, see how far he made it- We wanted the ladies in... on the Pennsylvania. We need to get some people in to talk about their feelings about the River West 24 before it fades. Oh, yeah.
• 21:26
Like, like Jeremy and, um, Haley. Yep. Am I saying that right? I always get her name wrong. I'm sorry, Haley. Holly. It's, it's Haley. It's Haley. It's Haley. Yeah. And her roommate- True that...
• 21:38
who I think had a fantastic River West 24 experience, and it's their first one. It's always good to get the first perspective and how long that, that high lasts, if you will.
• 21:48
Well, hopefully it lasts at least a month, 'cause by the time we do this again, it'll have been- It'll be another month, right... about a month. We're coming up on a month right now. Right?
• 21:56
It's only 11 months till the next River West 24. Oh, don't remind me. I can't wait. It's gonna seem like yesterday was- It does... anytime- Any idea, any thoughts on the, uh, uh, Shiverfest? Riverwest.
• 22:09
That's something that we are gonna have to organize if we're gonna do it. Yeah. We should right now- I know there's been a fart in the breeze for a few years... we should right now call out Matt Baron.
• 22:18
[laughs] Matt Baron, listen to our podcast. Matt Baron, Shiverwest 24. I think we can do something with that.
• 22:28
I had a plan for it before, which involved, you know, the river trail, but I don't think we can actually use that anymore as much. I'd like to, I'd like to do at least a 12-hour one. I like it being a day.
• 22:40
This is just, this was his original idea. Matt has great ideas. That we plan it for February. Yep. But- 24th... it's, no, it's the first day that it's 24 degrees- Oh... in February.
• 22:56
So it is a literally, like, call-out. Huh. If it's a Tuesday, tough shit. Call in sick- [laughs]... and ride your ass for 12 hours. I don't not like that idea. [laughs] I, I think it's a really, really great idea.
• 23:09
People, every morning, the first thing you're gonna do when you get up, before you even make coffee, is check the weather, and if it's 24 degrees, or it could be, you are at the start-finish yet to be determined line.
• 23:21
What if it only gets to 23? Then do you go home and wait till the next day when it's 24? No, you, you can go as long... Well, we'll determine that later. To be determined. Maybe. TBT. Yeah.
• 23:30
That's like TBA, that great band that played all over Summerfest. All the time. What they do. Oh my God, most prolific band. Man, those guys, man, did they throw it down. Hey, guys. For the past, like, 30 years.
• 23:40
I forgot to push the button. Of course you did. No, I'm kidding. [laughs] Oh, Greg's fucking with us again. Uh. Hey, man, I, I, I burned my hand on that stove.
• 23:48
[laughs] It's a good thing we're on, uh, iTunes explicit 'cause I keep dropping the F-bomb. Ah. For real, bum? For rizzle. Yeah, man, I think I got everything on my list I crossed off. Yeah, there was just a...
• 24:04
What was... Oh, um, I- Tony's, Tony's got to be somewhere, so. Right on. [laughs] Uh, ride across Wisconsin. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And- Bird and Mike went single speed. Single speed, man. Oh, yeah. I was like, "Whoa."
• 24:17
The best part about that story is- I was like, "What? Huh?"... is your cousin Dinardo messages me saying, "Oh my God- Two people did this single speed.
• 24:28
[laughs] And I said to him, like, "Did they look familiar to you at all?" Did they look familiar to you? Like maybe when you were at Everyday Cycles- Like, yeah, you were in the same room...
• 24:36
when we were talking about the cross-country trip. And Dinardo responded back with, [laughs] "Oh my God, that's why I know them."
• 24:42
[laughs] Dinardo did not bother to tell his wife about a gigantic pothole which destroyed her rear wheel. Oh, no. Uh-oh But was fortunate that there was a, uh, sag wagon along the ride that borrowed her a rear wheel.
• 24:57
Was it made out of wood? I don't know. Maybe. [laughs] Oh, Dinardo's bike was wood, though. So, so this is a, this was a- Oh, he, he, he- He did do it on his Oak-... oh, on that-... his maple bike...
• 25:06
on his midlife crisis. [laughs] 350 miles on a maple bike. 2- 228. That's awesome. He rode back from Green Bay to Milwaukee. What a... Oh, geez. [laughs] Oh. Him and his, him and his wife.
• 25:16
So I d- we knew a few people that did it. Uh, Liz did it- Yep. Mm-hmm Yep... and looked actually happy in both photos I saw officially taken, so it's not like a runner where they're cringing every mile.
• 25:27
Well, let's, let's also come to the realization that Liz is a machine. [laughs] 225 miles. I'm surprised she didn't just like dab off her brow and turn around and go back. [laughs] In somewhere like 11 hours-ish. Yeah.
• 25:38
So it was- Yeah, that's insane... it was moving. That's hauling booty. I wonder if they had a west wind behind them. I hope so. Yeah, that would've been sweet.
• 25:47
But yes, yes, r- RAW was, was a new route this year, and sounded pretty exciting- Yeah... um, for all you crazy RAW riders. It sounded actually kind of approachable. Oh.
• 25:58
You know what I mean, where- For the first 25 miles [laughs] I think, I think next year's- Well... underwear ride should be RAW underwear. [laughs] Which would just be RAW underwear RAW. RAW. RAW.
• 26:13
I would be raw after riding in my underwear for 225 miles. [laughs] No doubt. I think everyone would be. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's what Chamois Butt'r's for. Uh-huh. Or- The crease... or the, um, Happy Bottom Bum Butter.
• 26:24
Mm-hmm. Mm, shout out to Charlie. Mm. Happy Bottom Bum Butter, baby. Ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba boo. Wow. All right then. Just like that. Yeah. We have casted a pod. We did, the podcasting.
• 26:40

• 26:52
So I'm just not gonna kill it. So Happy Labor Day, everybody, and whatever. Hey. Oh, yeah, uh, Tour de Toner, the Sunday before. Oh, yeah. 10:00 AM sharp, rolling out of- Uptowner... Uptowner here in Festool.
• 27:03
Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Riverwest. Riverwest. Center and Humble. That's on, uh, that's on a Sunday? Yeah, the Sunday before. Yeah, Tour de Toner. And now that Everyday Cycles is open on Sunday, I can actually do it.
• 27:13
How about that? Hey, that being said, I think Al's gonna just kinda mope in here and be a volunteer- Mm... for Sundays now and again. So if you see the door open, folks, uh, we're open. Come on in.
• 27:22
