- 0:33we cover it all.

- 0:37call.

- 0:42Crossfit movies, music on repeat.
- 0:45Half hour hustle, yeah,
- 0:46we building that brand.
- 0:48Grab a plate, tune in now,
- 0:50you part of the fam.
- 0:56It's lunchtime.
- 1:02I ain't mad at that.
- 1:03I feel like all my dancing to our
- 1:05theme song is wasted on just me and
- 1:07you.
- 1:08I know.
- 1:09Turns me on.
- 1:10That's all that matters.
- 1:15When we come into the show,
- 1:16I'm just kind of like a limp biscuit.
- 1:18And then I see Corey going to town
- 1:20on the dance moves and boom,
- 1:22I'm ready to do the show.
- 1:24It's a great time, y'all.
- 1:25It's a great time.
- 1:26How's Montana?
- 1:26Montana.
- 1:29so the biggest thing is there's zero
- 1:32percent humidity here oh and so the when
- 1:38the temperature reads like and i'm going
- 1:40okay cool no it's chilly it's chilling
- 1:43with no humidity yeah that's how you're
- 1:46like oh wait no this is this is
- 1:48like if it's cold outside okay got it
- 1:50yeah it's a different type thing no i
- 1:52know what that i know what that's like
- 1:54for sure so uh
- 2:00So it's also dry.
- 2:02Like I am drinking fluids like a mofo
- 2:06this week because it is so dry.
- 2:11I don't have a mute button anymore.
- 2:15I have to like manually get up and
- 2:16click it.
- 2:17But my daughter took us to a restaurant
- 2:20last night for dinner.
- 2:23And mind you,
- 2:25my time dinner was like nine thirty at
- 2:28night.
- 2:30So like I am barely hanging on after
- 2:33being up since four thirty in the morning,
- 2:35our time and heading out to the airport.
- 2:40So we go to this place and she
- 2:41wants to sit on the patio.
- 2:43All good.
- 2:44But I'm freezing.
- 2:45I'm in this hoodie.
- 2:47I am like cuddled up.
- 2:50Food was delicious,
- 2:51but we're sitting there having a nice
- 2:53conversation and there's a family in front
- 2:55of us and behind us,
- 2:57there's like people just
- 3:00this place serves drinks in like uh mason
- 3:03jars but like there's a couple sizes you
- 3:07can get it in the in the mini
- 3:08mason jar or you can get it in
- 3:10the like massive ones fifty five gallon
- 3:14drum with a handle yeah yeah people behind
- 3:16us are all consuming the big the big
- 3:20jars right they're having a good time they
- 3:23are having a blast the people in front
- 3:26of us just a family we're sitting there
- 3:28we're having a conversation all of a
- 3:29sudden here
- 3:31was like what was and i'm looking around
- 3:34nobody's flinching nobody's doing anything
- 3:37i'm like okay but the people behind us
- 3:42are pretty loud so maybe maybe someone
- 3:43scooted a chair right yeah i'm not
- 3:47thinking much of it and uh and then
- 3:50all of a sudden we're eating a little
- 3:51bit more and i look i'm looking in
- 3:53front of me and this this dude at
- 3:56the table in front of me lifts a
- 3:58cheek and it just
- 4:00Just let it roll.
- 4:02I was like,
- 4:05is that what we do at a restaurant?
- 4:09Is this how Montana gets down?
- 4:11Megan, talk to us.
- 4:13Talk to us.
- 4:14What's going on with you people?
- 4:16I don't understand.
- 4:17She said sounds about right.
- 4:19Holy smokes.
- 4:21Holy smokes.
- 4:23Okay, so I guess that's a thing.
- 4:25And at that point,
- 4:25my wife and daughter have completely lost
- 4:28all control of themselves.
- 4:30Oh, I would have too.
- 4:31Because they are both partaking in mason
- 4:34jars as well.
- 4:36I'm sitting there with my diet Pepsi.
- 4:37Trying to be that adult in the room
- 4:40for once.
- 4:43Jesus, man.
- 4:48Megan comes in with a,
- 4:50not where she's from.
- 4:52Not where she's from.
- 4:53Yeah, got it.
- 4:54Just up here in the windy city.
- 4:57Got it, got it.
- 4:58or scott's at it's it's uh from the
- 5:00pretty part it's perfectly normal to just
- 5:04let it rip during i guess he figured
- 5:07he was on the patio he's outside and
- 5:08nobody would care is that do you think
- 5:10maybe i wouldn't say it was packed but
- 5:13it was like three quarters full patio sure
- 5:16there's enough people there for to maybe
- 5:19not just you know what i'm gonna do
- 5:22I'm just going to let this rip right
- 5:23here and see what happens.
- 5:26You didn't even look around, dude.
- 5:27It was just lift the cheek and let
- 5:29it rip.
- 5:30There was no pause.
- 5:31There was no...
- 5:33And then let it rip and didn't go,
- 5:35oh, shit,
- 5:35that was way louder than I expected.
- 5:38Didn't even stop the conversation.
- 5:42Just kept on rolling like that was normal
- 5:45dinner.
- 5:46Oh, goodness.
- 5:48Nope,
- 5:48not even going to check up at this
- 5:49point.
- 5:53No, there's not a High Rocks in town.
- 5:55Because it did not splat out.
- 5:58It just kind of... Thank goodness.
- 6:04I can imagine Scott coming back on today
- 6:05and be like, well,
- 6:06we had to evacuate the restaurant last
- 6:08night.
- 6:11What happened?
- 6:11Well,
- 6:12somebody shit themselves at the table next
- 6:13door.
- 6:14It's kind of crazy.
- 6:16Well, immediately,
- 6:17that's what my daughter said.
- 6:18I can't believe someone just shit
- 6:20themselves beside us.
- 6:25Well, it happens there, sweetheart.
- 6:30I think Winter's got a point here.
- 6:33My bad.
- 6:34God darn it.
- 6:36It's just shit.
- 6:37Yeah, it's just shit happening.
- 6:39I just got a point there.
- 6:40If you lift a cheek,
- 6:40you're looking for an audience.
- 6:41Right.
- 6:42That's what my grandpa did.
- 6:45If he wanted to let you know,
- 6:46he wanted to make sure everybody paid
- 6:47attention,
- 6:48he'd just go ahead and roll one over
- 6:50to one side like that and let it
- 6:52loose.
- 6:53Hey, y'all heard that?
- 6:54Did everybody hear that?
- 6:55Y'all good?
- 6:56All right, moving right along.
- 7:00It's Montana.
- 7:01There's shit everywhere.
- 7:01Yeah, but they're usually in patties here.
- 7:04Right.
- 7:06It usually comes from animals that don't
- 7:09generally use restrooms, as it turns out.
- 7:12I told Scott yesterday they got there and
- 7:14their room wasn't quite ready yet,
- 7:15so they were just kind of hanging out
- 7:16at a Mexican restaurant.
- 7:17He should probably go pet a buffalo.
- 7:19And he was like, no.
- 7:24No, I don't think I'm doing that today.
- 7:25I've seen them up close.
- 7:26I don't need to get any closer.
- 7:29I'm not going to try to pet one
- 7:30at any point.
- 7:30It might be that today, tomorrow,
- 7:32or whatnot.
- 7:35Oh, man.
- 7:36First of all, Jeremy, it was not me.
- 7:39Yeah, no.
- 7:39It was not me.
- 7:40And this man was older than I was,
- 7:43right?
- 7:43So when you get to,
- 7:47I think he's just at the age where
- 7:48he didn't give a shit.
- 7:51Oh, he did.
- 7:53Well, true.
- 7:56Bad choice of words.
- 7:57He didn't care.
- 7:59He didn't care in the moment.
- 8:01He probably gave a shit sometime later
- 8:02that night.
- 8:03That was just a preamble to it right
- 8:04there is all that was.
- 8:07Oh, man.
- 8:07Don't pet the fluffy cows.
- 8:10I'll keep that in mind, man.
- 8:13Yeah, they're... Dude, there's...
- 8:17They are so large.
- 8:19And they are like...
- 8:21They're so alien-looking.
- 8:23Like,
- 8:23they don't look like anything else in this
- 8:25world.
- 8:25Like, when you see one up close,
- 8:28it is just crazy.
- 8:30The first time I ever saw a picture,
- 8:33not even of a buffalo,
- 8:34but of a moose out in the wild,
- 8:37and it was standing on the road next
- 8:38to a car.
- 8:40And I was like, oh, my God.
- 8:44It's bigger than the car, and, like,
- 8:47the horns just...
- 8:49Keep going.
- 8:50I don't understand how it makes it through
- 8:52anything that it does.
- 8:54Those things are absolutely enormous,
- 8:56and I feel like it's the same thing
- 8:57about a buffalo.
- 8:57It doesn't look like it's from anywhere
- 8:59around here.
- 9:00And I don't mean anywhere around here
- 9:01being anywhere around here.
- 9:02I mean anywhere around on the planet
- 9:04whatsoever.
- 9:07When we drove my daughter out,
- 9:08people were telling us,
- 9:09don't drive at night because any of the
- 9:12animals out here,
- 9:13if they get into the road and you
- 9:15hit them, you are dead.
- 9:17Oh, yeah.
- 9:17There's no coming back from that.
- 9:19Right.
- 9:21Ain't no coming back from that.
- 9:24Oh, uh, Meg,
- 9:25I will never have Rocky mountain oysters
- 9:27as long as I know it.
- 9:31Right.
- 9:31Right.
- 9:32That's one thing, but I'm not,
- 9:35I'm not intentionally ordering.
- 9:36No, that's not gonna happen.
- 9:42Um,
- 9:44So yeah, so speaking of shit,
- 9:47there was an apology issued by Joanna,
- 9:50a whole bunch of consonants in her name.
- 9:54Yeah.
- 9:55Joanna Wazowski.
- 9:56Maybe that's, she's Wazowski.
- 10:01Wazowski.
- 10:03Wazowski.
- 10:06White girl.
- 10:07Let's just call it a white girl.
- 10:08That's close enough.
- 10:09So Vicky sent me that this morning,
- 10:11and my immediate reaction was,
- 10:13I don't care anymore.
- 10:16For me,
- 10:18an elite athlete is going to do elite
- 10:19athlete things,
- 10:20and that means it's not going to make
- 10:22sense to normal people.
- 10:26Right.
- 10:27I just don't care.
- 10:27Cause I just don't care.
- 10:29Like I'm so over the whole,
- 10:30the entire thing.
- 10:31And I, first of all,
- 10:33I don't feel like it was sincere because
- 10:35here it is Thursday and all of a
- 10:37sudden we got this, uh, apology.
- 10:39Yeah.
- 10:40I don't, I don't, I don't care.
- 10:43I don't,
- 10:43I don't need an apology from her to
- 10:47me.
- 10:47The,
- 10:47the PR the people in the wrong were
- 10:50the high rocks officials that didn't
- 10:51remove her from the course.
- 10:55I think it's both,
- 10:56but I think absolutely it falls way more
- 10:59on them than it does on her.
- 11:01Because I can also concede it from the
- 11:04elite athlete mindset.
- 11:06She wanted to win.
- 11:08She didn't give a shit about what else
- 11:10was going on.
- 11:10She didn't care about anybody else.
- 11:12Right.
- 11:12Well, she actually gave a lot of it.
- 11:16And the fact that she didn't get pulled
- 11:18off, immediately pulled off the course.
- 11:21right within like three feet of it
- 11:23happening.
- 11:24Oh, you're shitting yourself.
- 11:25Let's get you off of this course.
- 11:26So this thing would get you cleaned up
- 11:28and then you can go again later or
- 11:30whatever, whatever they needed to do.
- 11:32The fact that none of that happened.
- 11:34And then,
- 11:35and then high rocks did what they did,
- 11:37which is basically said, yeah,
- 11:39it sucks that it happened.
- 11:40And we're going to put some rules in
- 11:41place to make sure it doesn't happen
- 11:43again.
- 11:43And, uh,
- 11:44but if anybody says anything about it,
- 11:46we're going to make sure you never run
- 11:48a high rock race because,
- 11:50It's a wild take.
- 11:52It made it to my, they were talking,
- 11:55they briefly talked about it on the radio
- 11:58show that I listened to on the way
- 11:59to work in the morning.
- 12:01So like morning radio DJs that have
- 12:04absolutely no idea what any,
- 12:06like High Rocks,
- 12:08any of that kind of shit is,
- 12:10they talked about it this morning because
- 12:12apparently according to whatever financial
- 12:14news that they had,
- 12:15High Rocks is going to lose a couple
- 12:16of million dollars over it, if not more.
- 12:20So I'm with Tessa.
- 12:21I really don't care.
- 12:22I want to move on from this story.
- 12:24But I do want to say this one
- 12:26thing.
- 12:27And here's, you know,
- 12:29everybody's on the high rocks train and
- 12:31it's going and it's going and it's going.
- 12:33But this is the problem when you put
- 12:35elite athletes and regular Joes on the
- 12:39same course.
- 12:41As part of it, for sure.
- 12:43Right.
- 12:44It is part of it for sure.
- 12:46Cause when you're in a group of all
- 12:47elite athletes, usually one,
- 12:49you have your own lane and that's just
- 12:52your lane.
- 12:53Um, because stuff like this happens.
- 12:57or at least has the capability of
- 12:58happening like you said if it's just one
- 13:01lane you can shut one lane down if
- 13:03you need to right somebody p if one
- 13:06of the girls pees themselves on a clean
- 13:08or double owners or whatnot um in a
- 13:11car you can shut that lane down get
- 13:13it cleaned up for the next during the
- 13:15next heat move people around like you need
- 13:17to hey look you're not going to be
- 13:18in this lane just now we're going to
- 13:19move you down to the next lane and
- 13:21then get it taken care of in that
- 13:23time frame and then move right along
- 13:26When you are pushing God only knows how
- 13:28many people through an event the entire
- 13:31weekend, ain't no shutting that lane down.
- 13:34And what Hyrox is seeing is, hey,
- 13:36the more people we can get into this
- 13:37thing, the more money we make,
- 13:39and the more money we make,
- 13:40the more we can expand.
- 13:42But at the same time,
- 13:44you're combining two groups of people,
- 13:48one subset that's really,
- 13:50really good at this and are going to
- 13:52push through things,
- 13:53and another subset that are there to have
- 13:55fun and to hang out with their friends.
- 13:58And those aren't always going to mesh.
- 14:02And I think that that's part of CrossFit's
- 14:05problem.
- 14:05We start the season with this open where
- 14:08you're never going to appease both sides.
- 14:12You can't.
- 14:14Right?
- 14:14You have the elite athletes going,
- 14:16this is stupid.
- 14:18Like,
- 14:18why are we doing these simple workouts for
- 14:24cardio?
- 14:24Right?
- 14:26And then you have the average Joe's going,
- 14:28man, these are really hard.
- 14:29I wish I could do more RX.
- 14:32Right.
- 14:33And both are right.
- 14:36But it shouldn't be,
- 14:38it has to be together for the CrossFit
- 14:40methodology,
- 14:42but it doesn't make sense from a logistic
- 14:46standpoint.
- 14:48Well,
- 14:48I think that's why the first stage has
- 14:50to be online.
- 14:51That's the only way it makes sense from
- 14:52any kind of logistics standpoint.
- 14:53You can do it in your gym.
- 14:54You know,
- 14:55they lead athletes do it one time going
- 14:57about their business.
- 14:58The guys who are trying to get to
- 15:00then maybe get to the next stage or
- 15:01whatnot.
- 15:02Oh, do it again.
- 15:03Oh, I got to do it again.
- 15:03I got to do it over or whatnot.
- 15:06That's the only kind of way that makes
- 15:07sense.
- 15:07But no,
- 15:09I'm one of those people who I am
- 15:10somewhere in between this is really stupid
- 15:13and why aren't we doing more for the
- 15:16open?
- 15:16And some of these are actually pretty
- 15:18decent tests.
- 15:20Probably because I'm old.
- 15:21Yeah.
- 15:26I want to get rid of all this
- 15:27stuff that I hate talking about off the
- 15:29top of the show and then get back
- 15:30to the fun stuff.
- 15:32So you and Vicky listened to Wayne O'Hara
- 15:36talk yesterday.
- 15:40I didn't know if we were going to
- 15:41talk about that or not.
- 15:42Let's go.
- 15:46So Wayne O'Hara is the sixty five to
- 15:48sixty nine year old athlete who tested
- 15:50positive for PEDs at the games.
- 15:54He was on the Legends and Masters podcast
- 15:57yesterday or the day before.
- 15:59We found it yesterday.
- 16:01Shanna sent it to me.
- 16:03and i this is this is my request
- 16:08and i'll let you talk about what he
- 16:09said because i don't give a i don't
- 16:12i don't care enough to listen to it
- 16:14after i got your version of it yeah
- 16:19if you pop for peds i don't want
- 16:21to hear from you i've heard every story
- 16:24under the sun
- 16:26I've watched sports.
- 16:27This is the Kenneth DeLapp portion of the
- 16:30it's just sports thing.
- 16:31It's just sports.
- 16:32I've seen hundreds of NFL players.
- 16:35I've seen hundreds of Major League
- 16:37Baseball players.
- 16:38I've seen cyclists.
- 16:39I've seen and none of their stories add
- 16:43up at the end.
- 16:44You all sound stupid when it's over.
- 16:47Just shut the hell up.
- 16:48I don't want to go off and do
- 16:50your own thing and just shut up.
- 16:54Because I'm over it.
- 16:56I am so over the PED thing.
- 16:57You got busted.
- 16:59Go in your corner for four years and
- 17:03leave us alone.
- 17:04I thought it was a bold choice to
- 17:06begin with that they pulled him and
- 17:10brought him on the podcast and he decided
- 17:13to go.
- 17:15Like both things together in and of itself
- 17:18was a wild choice for me.
- 17:21And the only reason I saw it is
- 17:22because I saw Shanna had commented.
- 17:24They had their Instagram, I guess,
- 17:28had put up that this thing was up
- 17:29and Shanna had commented on it.
- 17:30And that's how I saw it.
- 17:32And so I went and looked and I
- 17:34asked her yesterday, I said,
- 17:35did you listen to it?
- 17:37And she said, yeah, I did.
- 17:39And I was like,
- 17:40is it worth listening to?
- 17:41And she said, basically, she was like,
- 17:44it's all the same kind of excuses.
- 17:45Depends on, I said,
- 17:47how mad am I going to get on
- 17:49a scale of I don't care to like
- 17:53ten?
- 17:53And she said, I'm at a five.
- 17:56And I was like, okay, cool.
- 17:57Let's go check it out.
- 17:58So I went and listened to it and
- 17:59he's an idiot.
- 18:01don't know a better way to put it
- 18:02i wish i could be nicer about it
- 18:04i really do but after listening to it
- 18:08it's the same type of excuses just wrapped
- 18:10in a different package that he just kept
- 18:13going on and on about he talks himself
- 18:16in circles from time to from time to
- 18:18time depending on what it is um the
- 18:23i don't i didn't know that blows my
- 18:28mind yes you did yes you did
- 18:31Why?
- 18:31Because you're not an idiot, right?
- 18:34Nobody's that stupid.
- 18:35Nobody who's in any kind of sport is
- 18:38stupid enough to think that, oh, well,
- 18:40my doctor gave it to me,
- 18:42so surely it should be fine.
- 18:45Then he thought because of the,
- 18:49what is it, the TUE,
- 18:50the therapy use exemption,
- 18:53that he could go get and submit for
- 18:57that and that it would wipe it away,
- 18:59right?
- 19:01And that he could go in,
- 19:02and even the guys that were interviewing
- 19:04him were like, no, that's not an excuse.
- 19:06Like, you can't,
- 19:07you can't react retroactively,
- 19:08go back and be like, oh, well, no,
- 19:10I had it for therapeutic use.
- 19:13He said on the thing that in the
- 19:16same almost sentence,
- 19:17or in the same couple of, yeah,
- 19:23He said in almost the same sentence that
- 19:26his testosterone went from like a three
- 19:30fifty to a nine fifty.
- 19:34OK,
- 19:35which I don't know if you all know
- 19:36or not,
- 19:36the pretty big swing when we're talking
- 19:38about testosterone.
- 19:40But he didn't really feel any different
- 19:42while he was training.
- 19:45Like,
- 19:45I didn't really feel you didn't feel any
- 19:46different.
- 19:47Then why were you taking it?
- 19:50Hold on.
- 19:50It gets better.
- 19:53It gets better.
- 19:54So not only did he not really feel
- 19:55any different,
- 19:57then he goes on to say later on
- 20:00that, well, I mean,
- 20:01the heart is a major muscle and you
- 20:03know, if your testosterone is going down,
- 20:04it means your muscles are not working
- 20:06correctly.
- 20:06So, I mean,
- 20:07you could be taking testosterone for heart
- 20:10problems.
- 20:14to which Shanna said, yeah, that's what,
- 20:18that's what,
- 20:18that's what got Shannon like fired up to
- 20:21begin with.
- 20:23He also said,
- 20:25That he was going to, just recently,
- 20:28and I don't know when they actually
- 20:30interviewed him, but, I mean,
- 20:32we listened to it yesterday, right?
- 20:33That is a lot of monsters.
- 20:35Big breath on oysters.
- 20:39He also said that he basically just
- 20:44stopped taking it.
- 20:46Which means he's been on it the entire
- 20:48time right from whenever he started on it
- 20:51all the way through the games all the
- 20:53way through to just here recently.
- 20:56He's gonna start stop taking it because
- 20:57he's going to experiment on himself and
- 21:00see if see if it affects him any
- 21:02differently,
- 21:03but it could be dangerous because.
- 21:05what if I have a heart attack?
- 21:08And I was like,
- 21:09the entirety of it put together.
- 21:13I just, I, my,
- 21:15I'm not left speechless often.
- 21:17Like I did laugh at a whole lot
- 21:19of it.
- 21:19Cause I was like, that's just silly.
- 21:21It really, really is.
- 21:22Um, but it,
- 21:24a lot of it just blew my mind
- 21:26completely.
- 21:26Like,
- 21:26I can't believe this dude's actually
- 21:28saying this kind of stuff.
- 21:29Yeah, here we go.
- 21:33He has hypogandism,
- 21:34which is low testosterone.
- 21:36He says it's a medical condition.
- 21:38Well,
- 21:38his type of hemogandism is what happens.
- 21:41Hypogonadism.
- 21:43Hypogonadism.
- 21:45Yeah.
- 21:47I've got to get the bifocals in the
- 21:49right spot.
- 21:49There we go.
- 21:50And it happens in old age in men.
- 21:52Oh, maybe I have hypogandism.
- 21:55Whatever.
- 21:55Gonadism.
- 21:57Hypogonadism.
- 21:58Yeah.
- 22:00Okay.
- 22:04what gets me is that he's saying that
- 22:06right he's also sixty seven years old
- 22:10right he's training every day and like i
- 22:15love it because he's like i mean i
- 22:16quit drinking and i i started you know
- 22:18eating all that stuff and i just figured
- 22:20that's that's what was doing it because
- 22:21like surely the testosterone i was taking
- 22:24wasn't making any differences
- 22:31So, yeah,
- 22:31the whole thing was absolutely absurd.
- 22:33If anyone wants to listen to it,
- 22:34it's an interesting interview to listen
- 22:37to.
- 22:38Those guys usually do a pretty good job.
- 22:39If you care about the matches or athletes
- 22:40at all,
- 22:41that's the only people that they
- 22:41interview.
- 22:43It's on iTunes.
- 22:45Go listen to it.
- 22:47It's about thirty five minutes long.
- 22:48Doesn't take a whole lot.
- 22:51It's not, you don't have to watch it,
- 22:52Meredith.
- 22:52It's all, it's all audio.
- 22:53They don't,
- 22:54it's not a video thing at all.
- 22:56Or at least I didn't see,
- 22:58I didn't find it.
- 22:58I don't think they have a YouTube.
- 23:03Which blows my mind today because it
- 23:04doesn't cost anything to have a YouTube
- 23:06channel.
- 23:07No, you can literally just.
- 23:09And if you're only on audio,
- 23:10like you are not trying to,
- 23:12for anybody to see what you have on.
- 23:14Right.
- 23:16Yep.
- 23:17Mark Phillips nailed it in Legends Masters
- 23:18Podcasts.
- 23:20yeah jenny i'll send it to you after
- 23:21the show but again like everything you
- 23:26told me from the interview i was like
- 23:27i've heard all of that in every other
- 23:30sport i watch and i'm just i just
- 23:35i don't what i don't understand or i
- 23:38say don't understand what i don't get
- 23:41I'll never be able to fathom, I guess,
- 23:44is the I didn't know excuse.
- 23:48Because yes, you did.
- 23:51Yeah, you did.
- 23:52Of course you did.
- 23:55Of course you did.
- 23:56Like nobody in their right mind thinks
- 23:58that I'm going to go get on testosterone.
- 24:01At sixty seven years old,
- 24:03I'm going to go get on test,
- 24:04you know, TRT,
- 24:05testosterone replacement treatment theory,
- 24:08whatever it is.
- 24:09And that's not going to,
- 24:10it's going to be perfectly fine.
- 24:12Surely.
- 24:14Oh,
- 24:14I couldn't find it in the rule book
- 24:16where it says not to do it.
- 24:17It was too hard to find.
- 24:19So I figured it must be okay.
- 24:22Jenny,
- 24:22I'd love to put it in the chat.
- 24:24I'm in a hotel with one screen and
- 24:26Vicky is not here to do anything behind
- 24:29the scenes.
- 24:30So we are,
- 24:30we're kind of running one legged today.
- 24:36Like I said, the whole thing,
- 24:37we'll get it to you.
- 24:40Yeah, I'm a sponsor.
- 24:44So the last big CrossFit thing I wanted
- 24:46to talk about is Amy Kringle did an
- 24:48interview with the Telegraph Women's
- 24:52Sports Channel thingy magazine.
- 24:56I don't know what it is these days.
- 24:57Oh,
- 24:58the Telegraph is a UK newspaper or news
- 25:01outlet.
- 25:02Apparently they have a subsidiary subs.
- 25:05I can't talk today.
- 25:08A part of them that is women's sports.
- 25:11Got it.
- 25:12And she has a quote in there that
- 25:14was just.
- 25:17I just found like this is the thing
- 25:20we needed from someone who needs to go
- 25:23up against Tia next season.
- 25:26Okay.
- 25:27And this is her quote.
- 25:30I still get nervous.
- 25:31I still have weaknesses and I still have
- 25:34things I want to get better at.
- 25:37And I thought, damn,
- 25:40that's the right perspective.
- 25:42Yeah.
- 25:42I won this thing,
- 25:45but I'm not satisfied with winning that
- 25:47thing.
- 25:49There's a whole bunch I want to get
- 25:50better at.
- 25:53I mean, hard facts.
- 25:55And as analyzing her performance at the
- 25:58games,
- 25:59many of the analysts in the space said
- 26:02she showed she didn't have much in the
- 26:05form of weakness because every time you
- 26:07thought people could make a move,
- 26:09she slammed the door.
- 26:10Yeah.
- 26:12Every time they knew, oh, well,
- 26:14this one's probably got a good chance or
- 26:15not.
- 26:16And she was like, mm-mm.
- 26:19Slammed the door on one of them,
- 26:19knocked him down,
- 26:20whatever you want to call it.
- 26:21Like,
- 26:22took care of it in the best way
- 26:23possible.
- 26:24I thought it was...
- 26:26And if you haven't seen the Tia Teer
- 26:28documentary.
- 26:28I have not yet.
- 26:30I haven't had time.
- 26:31Her mindset,
- 26:32like it's worth it just to see how
- 26:34her mind thinks.
- 26:37And it's no wonder she is where she
- 26:40is today as the goat of CrossFit.
- 26:43I did like the soundbite that I heard
- 26:46the other day where she said that, yeah,
- 26:48I probably am a little arrogant right now.
- 26:52And.
- 26:55Yeah.
- 26:56But you, you've earned it.
- 26:58Yeah.
- 26:58It's one thing to be arrogant and just
- 27:01be an asshole to everybody for no good
- 27:04reason, because you're relatively fit,
- 27:07right?
- 27:07Talk about our space.
- 27:09You're pretty fit.
- 27:09You know, you're a games athlete,
- 27:10whatever.
- 27:12It's another thing to be arrogant because
- 27:13you've won.
- 27:15Forty seven titles.
- 27:18Not even in a row.
- 27:19Most of them were in a row.
- 27:20And then you took a year off and
- 27:21you came back and you won again.
- 27:22And you took a year off and you
- 27:23came back and won again.
- 27:24Like,
- 27:26Yeah,
- 27:27she has the right to be kind of...
- 27:29There's a piece in there where Shane
- 27:31describes the mindset thing as sitting at
- 27:35the CrossFit dinner table.
- 27:37And everybody at that dinner table gets
- 27:39excited if they beat her in one event.
- 27:43At one event, yep.
- 27:44Right.
- 27:45And she hates losing any event.
- 27:50And that's the difference.
- 27:53If you're satisfied with one victory over
- 27:55Tia...
- 27:56then you're not prepared to win in a
- 27:59competition with her.
- 28:00No,
- 28:01I think that's like a natural extension
- 28:04of,
- 28:04I just remember rich phone and saying that
- 28:05as much as he likes winning,
- 28:06he hates losing way more than he loves
- 28:11winning.
- 28:11And it's the same kind of thing, right?
- 28:13Like, yeah, he likes to win,
- 28:14but she wants to win everything.
- 28:16Like not just in,
- 28:17she gets mad if she loses.
- 28:19It's the same kind of thing, right?
- 28:21You'd hate to have that champion's
- 28:22mindset.
- 28:22Like I don't much as I like to
- 28:25win, I hate losing worse,
- 28:27which is gonna make me work harder.
- 28:30keep those processes in place to where I'm
- 28:32not going to have any kind of weaknesses.
- 28:34I'm not going to have any kind of
- 28:35holes.
- 28:35I'm not going to have anybody be able
- 28:36to come sneak up on me and just
- 28:38take an event out from underneath me that
- 28:39I should win.
- 28:42Here's the difference.
- 28:43Rich would forego a single workout and not
- 28:48win it if it meant he was more
- 28:51ready to win the overall event.
- 28:54He was very cerebral in that way where
- 28:57Tia doesn't want to lose a single
- 29:01that's why that's why i said i think
- 29:03it's it's a natural extension of that
- 29:05right like rich said yeah i hate losing
- 29:07t is like i hate losing all anything
- 29:11it doesn't matter what it is right like
- 29:13you don't want to i don't want to
- 29:14play you know a game of battle with
- 29:17her with freaking cards because she's
- 29:20going to end up throwing the cards across
- 29:21the room if she loses right right none
- 29:25of it like rock paper scissors no i
- 29:28ain't playing with you
- 29:30know how she's going to react if i
- 29:31accidentally win so i wanted to i i
- 29:37wanted to get your thoughts as a again
- 29:41living in louisiana your son goes to lsu
- 29:45i'm watching get up this morning it was
- 29:48announced late last night that sam levitt
- 29:51the starting quarterback for lsu is
- 29:54doubtful for saturday night's game
- 29:57You sent me a reel saying he's going
- 30:00to pop up out of the stage and
- 30:01be ready to go.
- 30:04So there's a college expert on GetUp named
- 30:07Paul Feinbaum.
- 30:08He is known for stirring the pot.
- 30:11He does not like Lane Kiffin.
- 30:13I'm prefacing all this.
- 30:16And his comment was,
- 30:18you can never trust Lane Kiffin.
- 30:22And if Sam Levitt shows up and plays
- 30:24that way that day,
- 30:28we can no longer trust him at all
- 30:30because it's gamesmanship.
- 30:33It is gamesmanship.
- 30:38It's absolutely gamesmanship.
- 30:41For those not sports fans,
- 30:43LSU is going to play Ole Miss this
- 30:45weekend in Ole Miss,
- 30:48and that is where Lane Kiffin coached last
- 30:49year.
- 30:50And he left them right before their
- 30:52playoff run
- 30:54And so there is a lot of hate
- 30:57and venom coming across the boards back
- 31:01and forth.
- 31:03And so.
- 31:05To put it in perspective,
- 31:07when Kiffin was at Tennessee and left and
- 31:11went back to Tennessee,
- 31:12the Tennessee fans threw shit at him while
- 31:14he was on the field.
- 31:15As soon as he got on the field,
- 31:16there was stuff falling from the stands.
- 31:19We were expecting that again this week.
- 31:24He's a polarizing figure.
- 31:27He basically does what he wants to do.
- 31:29He's also a winner.
- 31:30He knows how to, right?
- 31:32He's a damn good coach.
- 31:33Call it what you want.
- 31:35And I say,
- 31:36I think most LSU fans understand that
- 31:39you're probably not going to be here
- 31:40forever, right?
- 31:42And we're okay with that because we're
- 31:44winning right now.
- 31:45We won two games.
- 31:47Whether that's great, not great, whatever.
- 31:52And it looks good.
- 31:53Having said all of that,
- 31:58I don't think he's fooling anybody with,
- 32:00oh, yeah, no,
- 32:01Levitt's probably not going to play this
- 32:03weekend.
- 32:04But at some point,
- 32:07you're planting some sort of seed of doubt
- 32:09somewhere just by saying that he is
- 32:13potentially not going to watch.
- 32:16It is going to be must-see TV.
- 32:19You can absolutely believe that.
- 32:25doing his best triple H impersonation and
- 32:29bringing the WWE to college football.
- 32:31Yeah, absolutely.
- 32:34All of those clips and that thing I
- 32:35sent you, I was laughing hysterically at,
- 32:38uh, it's, it's the, it's the old man,
- 32:41um, outside the cars,
- 32:42call it an ambulance,
- 32:43but not for me type deal.
- 32:45Like what Sam Leavitt, uh,
- 32:51I would be beyond shocked if he wasn't
- 32:56on the field tomorrow night.
- 32:57Like,
- 32:59above and beyond shocked if he wouldn't be
- 33:01on the field tomorrow night.
- 33:03I do think, like I said,
- 33:05you're going to plant a seed of doubt.
- 33:08Here's the thing.
- 33:08The other little quarterback that we got
- 33:11that got to play against La Tech the
- 33:14other night,
- 33:16looks and plays just like Sam Levitt.
- 33:20He's not Sam Levitt.
- 33:22But he's he was doing the same type
- 33:23of things like he always said, you know,
- 33:25he's dropped he's looking he's got nothing
- 33:26on a look pool take off takes off
- 33:27running.
- 33:28Right?
- 33:29He's not dropping.
- 33:29He's not checking down.
- 33:30He's not doing any that kind of shit.
- 33:33So
- 33:35I feel like Kiffin's having fun with the
- 33:38tools that are afforded to him.
- 33:39And the tools that are afforded to him
- 33:41right now is him going out and saying,
- 33:43oh, yeah,
- 33:44my starting quarterback is going to make
- 33:46it out tonight.
- 33:47Sorry, guys.
- 33:48Well,
- 33:49I guess we'll have to wait and see.
- 33:50It's going to be a game-time decision.
- 33:52No, it won't.
- 33:55The other story I wanted to bring up,
- 33:57and we don't need to dwell on this
- 33:58long,
- 33:59but I don't know if you saw this,
- 34:01but the Big Ten announced that
- 34:04Two weeks ago,
- 34:05that thing that happened in Michigan that
- 34:07everybody was upset about, yeah,
- 34:10that was messed up.
- 34:11That was mishandled,
- 34:12and Michigan shouldn't have got the extra
- 34:14second.
- 34:15Two weeks later.
- 34:16Why now?
- 34:18Two weeks later.
- 34:19Have it moved on from that?
- 34:22And now you've just been – can you
- 34:25imagine being Western Michigan and going,
- 34:27are you kidding me?
- 34:29Two weeks after the fact,
- 34:30you say that we should have won the
- 34:31game?
- 34:33And then the last caveat,
- 34:34but the NCAA doesn't have the authority to
- 34:36override the decision on who won the game.
- 34:41Then who does?
- 34:45If the governing body of college sports
- 34:48does not have the authority,
- 34:51then I would love to know who actually
- 34:52does.
- 34:54So apparently it doesn't matter how bad
- 34:55you mess up the calls in the game,
- 34:58the final score stands regardless.
- 35:01Welcome to being a Saints fan.
- 35:04Yeah.
- 35:04And then the last thing I had on
- 35:06my list is,
- 35:08I don't know if you saw this,
- 35:09because I know F-one isn't super popular
- 35:12in the U.S., but last week,
- 35:17Lando Norris finished third.
- 35:19Should have won.
- 35:21We talked about that on NBA Sports a
- 35:22little bit.
- 35:24after the match they have a cool down
- 35:26room the podium winners go into a cool
- 35:28down room where they just sit kind of
- 35:30hang out waiting to go out to the
- 35:32podium and generally they have a camera in
- 35:35there and you can hear them like kind
- 35:37of recapping the race from their
- 35:39perspective yeah lando picks up a coke and
- 35:43starts drinking it and he is being yelled
- 35:46at that you cannot drink coke in the
- 35:50cool down room because they're not a
- 35:52sponsor
- 35:54of F one and Landon goes,
- 35:57I just finished a two hour race in
- 36:00the blazing heat.
- 36:02If I want to drink a Coke,
- 36:03I'm drinking a Coke.
- 36:05I'm a grownup and it's caused this big
- 36:10stir.
- 36:11Like,
- 36:11did he have the right to drink a
- 36:13Coke?
- 36:16Are we to a place in this world
- 36:18where the sponsorship dollars are so
- 36:22insane?
- 36:24that a man can't have the beverage of
- 36:27his choice after a race.
- 36:31Okay, so let me ask you this.
- 36:33If they're that worried about it,
- 36:34where did he get the coke from in
- 36:35the first place?
- 36:38His team probably had him in the back.
- 36:42I get that,
- 36:43but if they're in that little room,
- 36:45locked off from everybody,
- 36:46waiting to come out for the podium
- 36:48celebration,
- 36:50Did he bring it in there with him?
- 36:52Did he not stop him before he went
- 36:53in there?
- 36:54You know what I'm saying?
- 36:55That's so incredibly stupid.
- 36:59Where did he get it from?
- 37:01One of his major sponsors is Monster
- 37:03Energy Drinks.
- 37:05Do you know who's a twenty percent
- 37:06shareholder in Monster Energy Drinks?
- 37:09Yes, I do.
- 37:10Yes, I do.
- 37:10I've been Coca-Cola for quite some time.
- 37:15They bought them or whatever,
- 37:17bought a part of them a long time
- 37:19ago.
- 37:20A long time ago.
- 37:23Pocket Coke next to the Pocket Jerky.
- 37:25I don't think Pocket Coke is the same
- 37:27thing as Pocket Jerky there, Ramirez.
- 37:30Yeah.
- 37:32Pocket Coke would probably get you
- 37:33arrested.
- 37:34I'm just saying.
- 37:38Oh,
- 37:38look at Joey Perez knocking it out the
- 37:40park, a Coke smuggling ring.
- 37:43You must have got it from the Penn
- 37:44State fraternities.
- 37:47Is that the coke they've been dealing?
- 37:50The one that's got cola written after it,
- 37:52the one that used to have cocaine in
- 37:53it way back in the teens and twenties,
- 37:56whenever they first started making it.
- 37:57Oh, my Lord.
- 38:00Lando Norris,
- 38:01part of a coke smuggling ring,
- 38:03got him in trouble with the F-One people.
- 38:06Yes, indeed.
- 38:07I like that a whole lot.
- 38:11Speaking of Coca-Cola,
- 38:13I lived in Tallahassee for four years.
- 38:16Just north of the town is a place
- 38:18called Valdosta, Georgia.
- 38:20Valdosta, Georgia.
- 38:23And it might even be... Anyway,
- 38:27I think it's a smaller town than even
- 38:28that, outside of Valdosta.
- 38:31But that's where Coke was founded.
- 38:33Yep.
- 38:35And the per capita income of that town...
- 38:40is like in the millions because they are
- 38:43all shareholders.
- 38:44Yeah, because Coke was founded there.
- 38:48I had a hand in it when it
- 38:49first came out.
- 38:51And those shares have been handed down
- 38:53from generation to generation.
- 38:56Boys and girls is what you call
- 38:57generational wealth right there in
- 38:58Valdosta, Georgia, of all places.
- 39:01Come on, man.
- 39:02You know what they call that there.
- 39:03That's old money.
- 39:04That's old money.
- 39:06And people have been having money since
- 39:07Jesus was a baby.
- 39:09Yeah.
- 39:10Yeah.
- 39:11That's, that's actually unsurprising.
- 39:14There's a lot of places like that, man.
- 39:15Um, there's people down here as much as,
- 39:19you know, Louisiana gets shit on from,
- 39:22you know, poor state and the union, blah,
- 39:24blah, blah.
- 39:24It's like,
- 39:25I know people that could buy your house
- 39:26with a hundred dollar bills though.
- 39:27Like don't, don't, don't play with us.
- 39:30Hey,
- 39:31you've got to be higher than Mississippi,
- 39:33right?
- 39:35That's an excellent question.
- 39:37And we just lost every listener from
- 39:39Mississippi.
- 39:39My bad.
- 39:40It's fine.
- 39:41Both of them.
- 39:45Mark Phillips,
- 39:46the coolest dude in the chat is gifting
- 39:49five Clydesdale media memberships.
- 39:51We appreciate you so much, dude.
- 39:53Thank you for that.
- 39:55It doesn't go unnoticed.
- 39:57Trust me.
- 39:58No, he does that quite often,
- 40:00as a matter of fact.
- 40:01Jeremy, your dad's from where?
- 40:02From Valdosta, Georgia?
- 40:05How the hell did y'all end up in
- 40:07frickin' Wisconsin, of all places?
- 40:09It doesn't seem like those two things add
- 40:10up, my brother.
- 40:13Coke money.
- 40:17Yup.
- 40:17Yup.
- 40:18Your Clydesdale membership paid for by the
- 40:22Pennsylvania State University
- 40:28oh good night that is good stuff right
- 40:30there i don't give a damn who you
- 40:32are yeah man it's either old money or
- 40:36new money and it it makes a huge
- 40:38difference yeah if you are old money you
- 40:42only hang out with old money people and
- 40:44only trust old money people
- 40:46it's probably only actually old people at
- 40:49that point even if you're young right if
- 40:52you inherit your old money you're probably
- 40:54still just talking to old people at that
- 40:56point i just it's been my experience as
- 40:58far as that goes and down here old
- 41:02money people
- 41:04And for the most part,
- 41:05if you saw them on the street,
- 41:08you would not have a clue because they're
- 41:11not walking around with ten thousand
- 41:13dollar handbags and rolling around in,
- 41:17I don't know, name a fancy suit.
- 41:21They're probably in freaking jogging pants
- 41:23and slippers for the most part because
- 41:27they don't advertise.
- 41:29It's wild how that works.
- 41:32Speaking of that,
- 41:33I saw a clip the other day of
- 41:35a podcast Rob Gronkowski was on.
- 41:38And again, he was asked,
- 41:40is it true that you have not spent
- 41:41a single dollar of your NFL money?
- 41:45And he said,
- 41:47it's made a big deal of,
- 41:48and essentially that is correct.
- 41:51He said,
- 41:52I was a second round draft pick.
- 41:57I signed a contract with two million
- 42:00guaranteed.
- 42:03And I figured, listen,
- 42:06the way I grew up,
- 42:07I didn't have anything.
- 42:10And it wouldn't take a lot to make
- 42:12me feel like I had a lot.
- 42:15Having an apartment felt like a lot to
- 42:17me at that point in time.
- 42:20And so I socked it all away and
- 42:22I figured these car dealerships need
- 42:24spokespeople.
- 42:25I went down to the car dealership,
- 42:27I got sponsorship deals and that's how I
- 42:29lived.
- 42:31just local sponsors,
- 42:33and he has still to this day not
- 42:34touched the NFL money.
- 42:36Everything he has is sponsorships or other
- 42:42media gigs he's been – He can probably
- 42:45live off the interest at this point.
- 42:48I mean, quite honestly,
- 42:49like he's been in the league it feels
- 42:51like forever, right?
- 42:52So that money sitting in there,
- 42:54just sitting in the bank,
- 42:55just –
- 42:56compounding interest as it goes.
- 42:58I mean,
- 42:59it's the right way to look at it.
- 43:01It's just so counterintuitive to what we
- 43:03see.
- 43:04Well,
- 43:06I feel like it goes one of two
- 43:08ways in the NFL.
- 43:09It's either guys like Gronk who like never
- 43:11had anything and are cool with feeling
- 43:15like, man, you know,
- 43:16I'm living in a nineteen hundred square
- 43:18foot house now.
- 43:18I was in a shack before.
- 43:20This is amazing.
- 43:21And there's rolling with that.
- 43:23And the guys who also never had anything
- 43:25and like now I need to buy all
- 43:26the things forever for the rest of my
- 43:28life.
- 43:29And run themselves broke that thirty four
- 43:32thirty the broke About the NFL and then
- 43:35everybody like just spending all their
- 43:37money is one of the most It's some
- 43:41it's simultaneously funny and powerful all
- 43:44at the same time because you see these
- 43:45guys like make these gazillion dollar
- 43:47contracts and it ain't got a pot to
- 43:49piss in or window to throw out throw
- 43:51it out of and
- 43:54uh and then like because of them now
- 43:56the nfl has like financial literacy
- 43:59programs for when you when you're a rookie
- 44:01so that they tell you hey uh probably
- 44:03don't spend all your money on cooker on
- 44:06cookers on hookers and coke probably not a
- 44:08great idea just go ahead and throw that
- 44:10out there the new term for a co-core
- 44:14is cookers cookers you're welcome
- 44:19Things have never been my desire.
- 44:20I believe that he actually said that.
- 44:22Are you quoting him, Tessa?
- 44:23He may have said that.
- 44:27Marshawn Lynch did the same thing.
- 44:28He wakes up laughing.
- 44:30Dude, that...
- 44:32It still boggles my mind that that dude
- 44:35who showed up at press conferences to say,
- 44:40I'm only here so I don't get fined
- 44:42because you don't want to speak to the
- 44:44media,
- 44:44has become the biggest star of the media
- 44:49after his retirement.
- 44:51Love that dude.
- 44:53Love that dude.
- 44:55He's actually a decent actor.
- 44:57I mean,
- 44:57he just plays himself for all intents and
- 44:59purposes,
- 44:59but like the couple of movies I've seen
- 45:00him in,
- 45:01he's been hilarious in like the whole,
- 45:04the I'm just here.
- 45:05So I won't get fine.
- 45:06The amount of self-control it took for him
- 45:10to just,
- 45:11they would ask him a question and then
- 45:12that's what he would say.
- 45:14And he would ask him,
- 45:15they would ask him another question and he
- 45:16would just look back and be like,
- 45:18I'm just here.
- 45:18So I don't get fine.
- 45:18Yeah.
- 45:21The amount of self-control that took to do
- 45:24that for as long as that actually took
- 45:26is mind-boggling to me because I could
- 45:28probably start off like that,
- 45:30but I don't know if I could maintain
- 45:31that the entire way through.
- 45:33It just keeps saying it.
- 45:34It just keeps saying it.
- 45:35The awkwardness would become palpable,
- 45:38and could you – And could you just
- 45:40hold on to it no matter what?
- 45:41Yeah.
- 45:42Jeremy asks,
- 45:43think they're doing that in college now
- 45:45with the NIL money?
- 45:47No.
- 45:48No.
- 45:51I highly doubt it because there's no
- 45:55governance.
- 45:56There's no rules.
- 45:58There's no limits.
- 46:01Bryce Underwood, twelve million dollars.
- 46:02There you go.
- 46:04You're sucking and you're still in college
- 46:06and he's still got twelve million dollars
- 46:08or however much it is now.
- 46:12I highly doubt that that came with a,
- 46:14hey,
- 46:14let's probably not use your money for
- 46:17this, this and this.
- 46:17And let's probably put your money here,
- 46:19there and there.
- 46:22Terry says,
- 46:22my son stayed in the same apartments as
- 46:24the FSU football team.
- 46:25The parking garage had most the NIL money
- 46:29from the team.
- 46:30Well, yeah, you're giving
- 46:35millions of dollars,
- 46:36what do you think the first thing they're
- 46:38going to do is they have no idea
- 46:39what to do with it.
- 46:41So instead of maybe not, you know,
- 46:44maybe I, maybe I get fine, you know,
- 46:46I don't know, financial advisor and Hey,
- 46:49what should I do with this?
- 46:50They just,
- 46:51I'm going to head to the dealership.
- 46:53Don't buy me a Lexus or, you know,
- 46:56Cadillac, whatever.
- 46:59I don't know if you saw Jay Williams'
- 47:01piece.
- 47:02He's a basketball analyst on ESPN.
- 47:05He was a first-round draft pick of the
- 47:07Bulls, played at Duke.
- 47:10He said,
- 47:11we all had NIL money back then.
- 47:13It just wasn't legal.
- 47:14It just wasn't legal.
- 47:17Coach O, bro.
- 47:18Coach O said it.
- 47:19He said,
- 47:19the only thing that's different now is we
- 47:20bring it in through the front door instead
- 47:22of the back door.
- 47:24So...
- 47:28And Duke's one of those schools that
- 47:29you're like, well,
- 47:30they're better than everybody else.
- 47:32They're probably not doing – no.
- 47:35Everybody's doing it.
- 47:36All doing it.
- 47:37Everybody's doing it.
- 47:40The same thing when they –
- 47:44when they got the Saints for Bounty Gate.
- 47:48You think every NFL team's not saying,
- 47:52hey, man.
- 47:53Dude, the Buddy Ryan teams,
- 47:56the Eagles and the Bears,
- 47:58they were applauded for putting bounties
- 48:00on people.
- 48:01Yeah.
- 48:03Banana's crazy, dude.
- 48:08David Reed doing some math.
- 48:10A five million dollar NIL deal is a
- 48:12salary of two hundred thousand dollars a
- 48:13year,
- 48:14while the principal will still grow almost
- 48:16two hundred K in the first year.
- 48:18Two hundred K in college is a lot.
- 48:21Doug, two hundred K at any given point.
- 48:25It's a pretty good chunk of change there,
- 48:27my brother.
- 48:28Yeah.
- 48:29Just throwing that out there.
- 48:31Just throwing that out there.
- 48:32I know up there in that mansion you
- 48:33have an Ostrander.
- 48:35You know,
- 48:35maybe two hundred grand doesn't get you
- 48:37much, but.
- 48:39Right.
- 48:41How much does it cost to send your
- 48:43children to Ohio State?
- 48:45Good night.
- 48:47That ain't cheap.
- 48:51oh i feel like he's got to be
- 48:53getting scholarship money right oh yeah
- 48:55he's a really good diver like yeah i
- 48:58would if not good lord man they're wasting
- 49:01uh what is what they were even doing
- 49:02up there because i mean the kid knows
- 49:03what he's doing i've seen videos yeah yeah
- 49:10he's he he's good my sister was a
- 49:12diver for years what i've seen on tape
- 49:16is pretty pretty amazing
- 49:20Two hundred grand is a lot of pizza
- 49:22in old Milwaukee.
- 49:23That's a lot of pizza in old Milwaukee.
- 49:24Or Bush, the beast, baby.
- 49:27You can get a whole lot of that.
- 49:30You have that pizza here in thirty minutes
- 49:32or less.
- 49:33Got a good tip for you.
- 49:35Two hundred K a year.
- 49:39Oh, my God.
- 49:44I'll just let that breathe a little bit.
- 49:46OSU out of state.
- 49:48fifty thousand dollars but now you live in
- 49:51Ostrander that's in state when does that
- 49:54convert over what point does that convert
- 49:57over is that tell me that's for the
- 50:01year and not for a semester please I
- 50:08need to know I really need to know
- 50:12like how much is a college education worth
- 50:14dude I don't know anymore
- 50:18I know what we're paying for Brody to
- 50:20go to LSU right here,
- 50:22third demands from the house,
- 50:23and it's not cheap.
- 50:25I don't think it is anyway,
- 50:26considering I know what I paid to go
- 50:29to Nichols my first semester over there,
- 50:31my first two semesters over there,
- 50:36to be living in Ohio.
- 50:36You have to be living in Ohio one
- 50:39year to get in-state.
- 50:45Penn State of I think I think Meg
- 50:48saying college education isn't worth that
- 50:50much.
- 50:51It's really not.
- 50:54Duke is like ninety seven K.
- 51:01Google says out of state for four years
- 51:03is around two hundred thirty five to two
- 51:05hundred fifty five thousand dollars.
- 51:10that in perspective we built our house in
- 51:14like we moved in in twenty twenty and
- 51:17my home cost two hundred and eighty five
- 51:18thousand dollars my house like the place I
- 51:21live yep there's no way dude there's no
- 51:29way yeah we bought our house for two
- 51:33hundred and eight thousand yeah
- 51:36and it's now worth double that but oh
- 51:40yeah no mine is like oh every once
- 51:44in a while jennifer will go to look
- 51:45like houses in the neighborhood that are
- 51:46going up for sale that are similar to
- 51:48ours and she tells me how much they
- 51:49are and i'm like yeah i can believe
- 51:52it and because it just it just keeps
- 51:53going up and up and up it's ridiculous
- 51:57Yeah,
- 51:58but the fact that college educations are
- 52:01what a house costs.
- 52:04I know what my house note is,
- 52:07you know what I'm saying, a month.
- 52:10And I just can't, you know,
- 52:12no wonder college kids are graduating and
- 52:14talking about they can't survive.
- 52:15Well, yeah,
- 52:15you just spent four thousand dollars on a
- 52:18degree,
- 52:19on a piece of paper from a thing.
- 52:21You got no experience.
- 52:24No, you can't probably move it anywhere.
- 52:26That's bananas, dude.
- 52:30Trent says,
- 52:30not worth it considering I'm still paying.
- 52:33Trent, I'm still paying.
- 52:35And I'm a whole lot older than you.
- 52:37Oh, I bet.
- 52:39I bet.
- 52:40Jennifer's getting her master's degree
- 52:41right now from UL.
- 52:43But the only reason she's actually doing
- 52:45it, I say the only reason,
- 52:46the main reason she's doing it is because
- 52:47her work's paying for it.
- 52:48Right.
- 52:51We pay as long as she keeps her
- 52:54GPA at whatever it needs to be.
- 52:58They reimburse her for it,
- 52:59but that is bananas crazy, dude.
- 53:07I have a niece who did her four-year
- 53:08on gymnastics scholarship,
- 53:11then grad school for four years,
- 53:13hired with sign-on bonus that paid for the
- 53:15grad school loans, entire education free.
- 53:19Nice.
- 53:20Tessa,
- 53:22that's the American dream right there.
- 53:27Yeah,
- 53:28my cousin is a couple years younger than
- 53:30me,
- 53:31graduated from LSU with a petrochemical
- 53:33engineering degree.
- 53:35And the company had hired him, hired him,
- 53:39bought him a house in Houston for him
- 53:41to live in when he first started working
- 53:43over there, moved him,
- 53:46all that kind of stuff,
- 53:48and set him up to where part of
- 53:50his stuff was going to pay whatever
- 53:52because he didn't have it.
- 53:53He had academic scholarships.
- 53:56but was going to pay whatever he had
- 53:57left over from from school like off all
- 54:00right out the gate absolutely insane it's
- 54:03awesome for him all right well that didn't
- 54:11end on the high note i was hoping
- 54:12for oh that's usually how that goes start
- 54:18talking about stuff like that dude that's
- 54:20reality unfortunately it's absolutely
- 54:22bananas crazy
- 54:26Uh,
- 54:26that's an excellent question from Andrew
- 54:28Sten.
- 54:29I would love to know the answer to
- 54:30this.
- 54:30Do those athletes that get a huge idea
- 54:32still get scholarships?
- 54:34And so they should be forced to pay
- 54:35their own tuition,
- 54:36let scholarships go to those who actually
- 54:38need them.
- 54:39That's a fantastic question.
- 54:42I would love to know that.
- 54:48uh meg says have fun uh make sure
- 54:51you get some huckleberries so i know my
- 54:53daughter got us some kind of huckleberry
- 54:56something and it's for a birthday party we
- 54:59have to go to tonight for one of
- 55:00her friends um i was gonna ask you
- 55:04what's on uh what's on the uh agenda
- 55:06there so apparently you're you're
- 55:08attending a twenty something's birthday
- 55:10party i am that ought to be super
- 55:14fun
- 55:23You said the quiet part out loud.
- 55:27I thought it'd be super, super awesome.
- 55:31So some of our really good friends were
- 55:36like the young couple,
- 55:38both with really nice high paying jobs,
- 55:40didn't have kids and whatnot.
- 55:42And you know what it means?
- 55:43Like friends without kids be like,
- 55:46y'all want to go to Africa on Friday?
- 55:48They actually went to Africa.
- 55:50Like one,
- 55:52it seemed random to us because they didn't
- 55:54necessarily, you know, not like, Oh,
- 55:55we're going to Africa in three weeks or
- 55:56whatnot.
- 55:58You know, all of a sudden it's like,
- 55:59Oh yeah, no, we hadn't,
- 56:00we're going to Africa.
- 56:01We're going on safaris.
- 56:02Like, Oh yeah.
- 56:03I'm really going to Africa.
- 56:04I was like, yeah, no, check it out.
- 56:05I was like, okay, here we go.
- 56:09And like, you know, forty nine,
- 56:12they're probably in their early thirties
- 56:14right now, early mid thirties,
- 56:16something like that.
- 56:17It just always, always blew my mind.
- 56:19I was like, man,
- 56:20I don't I've always had kids.
- 56:23I had my first one real, real young.
- 56:26She grew up.
- 56:27Then I got Brody.
- 56:28Now I got Jameson.
- 56:29It's never been a let's drop everything
- 56:32and just go on safari this weekend.
- 56:35I feel like a lot of young people
- 56:36that don't have kids can do shit like
- 56:38that.
- 56:40Anytime I've ever had to hang around a
- 56:41whole bunch of young ones,
- 56:44especially here lately,
- 56:46I feel like
- 56:48I feel like that old boy that drank
- 56:52out of the wrong chalice at the end
- 56:53of Indiana Jones in the last crusade,
- 56:59when he drank out the wrong one and
- 57:00just immediately aged like a billion
- 57:02years.
- 57:03I feel like that dude pretty much anytime
- 57:04I'm around a bunch of twenty year olds.
- 57:06So that should be awesome for you.
- 57:09Yeah, because I have chosen poorly.
- 57:16Oh, my Lord.
- 57:19Are there any other parents going to be
- 57:20at this birthday party?
- 57:22Probably not.
- 57:25No, but I'm here to see my kid.
- 57:26If that's, I have to see my kid.
- 57:28It's just,
- 57:30but going to a twenties somethings
- 57:32birthday party where I have quit drinking.
- 57:36Yeah.
- 57:38Pull it up.
- 57:39Cause if not, I will.
- 57:43What the man mom's family reunion.
- 57:46Is it as fun as your mom's family
- 57:47reunion?
- 57:51I don't know.
- 57:52I have not experienced it yet.
- 57:54Tune in tomorrow and you'll find out if
- 57:59I'm sat next to a racist...
- 58:04Yeah.
- 58:04Whatever.
- 58:04Like I was at my mom's family reunion.
- 58:08It's going to be so good.
- 58:09Anybody who starts a conversation with I'm
- 58:11not a racist.
- 58:13Oh, this ought to be fun.
- 58:15How about those Muslims?
- 58:17Yeah.
- 58:18How about those Muslims?
- 58:19What about Muslims?
- 58:20Jesus Christ, man.
- 58:23Hold on.
- 58:23Meg's trying to give me some advice.
- 58:26Uh, Wilcoxon's ice cream.
- 58:30Find this brand and ice cream sandwiches.
- 58:32Okay.
- 58:33All right.
- 58:38I'll tell you that.
- 58:39And then we got to go.
- 58:40But yeah,
- 58:43I the richness in the food that I
- 58:45had yesterday after eating really,
- 58:49really healthy for a long time.
- 58:51Dude, I was up all night.
- 58:52Yeah.
- 58:53Mind boggling what it does.
- 58:54Right.
- 58:55And you know what I need?
- 58:57I need Thursday.
- 58:59I need Thursday to get a good night's
- 59:01sleep, settle my stomach.

- 59:23But yeah.
- 59:26And it's not even close.
- 59:32Trey Olive,
- 59:33he needs to do a pre-tape show on
- 59:35off days.
- 59:36Yesterday afternoon was rough with no
- 59:38show.
- 59:40If I'd have had somebody to come on,
- 59:42I could have came on and just talked
- 59:44about God only knows what yesterday,
- 59:45but I'm not coming on by myself.
- 59:47I'm not ready for a solo show.
- 59:50Here's the thing.
- 59:50If I had notes,
- 59:51if I had something to actually talk about,
- 59:52that'd be one thing,
- 59:53but I'm not just coming on here like
- 59:56I normally do,
- 59:57which is flying by the seat of my
- 59:59pants and reacting whatever Scott's got
- 1:00:01laid out for us.
- 1:00:04insane yeah so behind the scenes stuff
- 1:00:07just so you guys know cory comes with
- 1:00:10a big long list of notes of what
- 1:00:11we're going to talk about in a day
- 1:00:14super long super long super long yeah big
- 1:00:18show rundown of what he has planned to
- 1:00:21talk about it looks a lot like this
- 1:00:28this is pretty much what it looks like
- 1:00:29right here my uh my um
- 1:00:36Listen,
- 1:00:37my rundowns from Corey are he'll send me
- 1:00:42reels throughout the day,
- 1:00:44throughout tonight and throughout tomorrow
- 1:00:46morning.
- 1:00:47And that's what I'm guessing he wants to
- 1:00:50talk about somewhat.
- 1:00:51If I find either funny or interesting.
- 1:00:54And at the time I'm like, Ooh,
- 1:00:55we could probably talk about this
- 1:00:56tomorrow.
- 1:00:56The problem is,
- 1:00:58is that until you remind me that I
- 1:00:59sent that to you,
- 1:01:00I usually forget about it.
- 1:01:02It's usually how that goes.
- 1:01:05I'm like, Oh,
- 1:01:06this is absolutely hilarious.
- 1:01:07Scott would love this.
- 1:01:08We should probably talk about this today,
- 1:01:10tomorrow, whatever.
- 1:01:11And I'll send it and then I'll go
- 1:01:13continue living life and forget completely
- 1:01:16that I did that or whatnot.
- 1:01:17So when you say it like, Oh,
- 1:01:18you sent me that thing of, uh,
- 1:01:22about what's his face like popping up out
- 1:01:23of the thing and I'm like oh yeah
- 1:01:25I did do that yeah that was pretty
- 1:01:27funny
- 1:01:29Are we going to talk?
- 1:01:30Oh, all right.
- 1:01:30Cool.
- 1:01:30Yeah.
- 1:01:30Yeah.
- 1:01:32Like today when I said that you would
- 1:01:33listen to the podcast and you almost spit
- 1:01:35out your C four.
- 1:01:37Because I was, I, here's the thing, dude,
- 1:01:40I listened to that yesterday.
- 1:01:41Me and Shannon had a long conversation
- 1:01:42about it.
- 1:01:44Just about how insane we thought it was.
- 1:01:47Right.
- 1:01:47The entire thing.
- 1:01:49And her being a doctor,
- 1:01:51like she's coming in from that
- 1:01:53perspective.
- 1:01:53I'm coming at it from the athlete
- 1:01:54perspective.
- 1:01:55She's also coming at it from the athlete
- 1:01:56perspective.
- 1:01:57Right.
- 1:01:58she was saying that like and she's
- 1:02:00probably gonna kill me for saying this but
- 1:02:01like when they after she uh took second
- 1:02:07or whatever whatever year whatever she
- 1:02:08took the podium her first year there right
- 1:02:11at the games and they brought him back
- 1:02:13for drug testing and she sat there and
- 1:02:15she's like the enormity of all that was
- 1:02:17just kind of hitting her and she was
- 1:02:18just sitting there kind of crying and one
- 1:02:19of the other girls that was there was
- 1:02:21asked was act like
- 1:02:23are you going to,
- 1:02:23are you crying because you're going to
- 1:02:25pop?
- 1:02:25And she's like, no,
- 1:02:26I'm just quite the opposite.
- 1:02:28I'm crying because I've worked so hard to
- 1:02:31get here.
- 1:02:33It's all paid off and I'm,
- 1:02:35I can go,
- 1:02:35I can pee in whatever cup they want
- 1:02:37to, they want me to pee in.
- 1:02:37Like, it really doesn't matter.
- 1:02:39Like the enormity of that hit her.
- 1:02:40Right.
- 1:02:41So we were talking about that yesterday
- 1:02:43and I just, I can't,
- 1:02:46Cannot put the two thing I can't reconcile
- 1:02:49the two things in my head where somebody's
- 1:02:50gonna go I'm gonna use this stuff because
- 1:02:53my doctor said it was okay,
- 1:02:55and I probably need it and and somehow
- 1:02:59think that it's okay to do in sport
- 1:03:02like it's the they just don't go together
- 1:03:05dude,
- 1:03:05like if you pay attention to anything in
- 1:03:08pop culture the past fifty years and
- 1:03:13You know you can't do that.
- 1:03:16Nope.
- 1:03:19Anyway.
- 1:03:21Let's go before I get another rant.
- 1:03:23All right, guys.
- 1:03:25Have a great rest of your day.
- 1:03:26We'll be back tomorrow for lunch with the
- 1:03:29Clydesdale and Cowboy.
- 1:03:31It's really like a late breakfast brunch
- 1:03:33for me, but we'll do it this week.
- 1:03:36With that, guys,
- 1:03:37have a great rest of your day.
- 1:03:39We'll see you soon.

- 1:03:58call.
