- 0:13Hello you, guys, Welcome back to another episode of the Hawkgirl Energy Podcast.
- 0:18I'm your host, Kaylee, and this is your weekly reminder that it's
- 0:21a new day, a new week, a new mindset, and another day
- 0:24for you to become the Hawkgirl Energy you want to attract. Hello you,
- 0:28guys, welcome back to another episode. I wanted to record an episode about
- 0:38being solo, like taking yourself on a date, doing all the things that
- 0:44make you feel good, and just romanticizing your life of doing things alone.
- 0:51And what really inspired me to record this episode was because I had a bit
- 0:58of a solo night to myself last weekend and it really inspired me because I'm
- 1:03like, I feel that I haven't really touched on an episode about like my
- 1:08perfect solo day, like doing all the things that make me happy in one
- 1:14day, Like these are things that I would want to do. And I'm
- 1:15also going to list some examples of things you can do on your own,
- 1:21like for other date ideas. It doesn't have to be all in one day,
- 1:23just date night ideas that you can do yourself, and just to really
- 1:29allow you to realize and enjoy your own company. And I'm that kind of
- 1:34person where I really enjoy being in social environments, like I love to socialize
- 1:42with people. I really enjoy just being with my friends, with my family,
- 1:47with Zach, like I like to be busy, and I don't really
- 1:49allow myself or force myself to be alone. And I'm not sure why that's
- 1:55the case. I just feel like I enjoy company, like I just like
- 1:59to be with other people, and there's nothing wrong with that. And usually
- 2:01in the summertime, I'm booked, I'm busy, and I'm sure you guys
- 2:05are the same. There's so much going on. You want to do stuff
- 2:07with your friends, you want to do stuff with your family, your partner,
- 2:09all that, And I had a weekend to myself last weekend. Zach
- 2:16went to a cottage for a boy's weekend, and I really forced myself to
- 2:23have a solo night, Like Kiley, you really just need to allow yourself
- 2:27to stay in just you and Freddie at the house, or I could have
- 2:30went out to a restaurant just enjoying my own company, because I feel like
- 2:35I haven't had a day like that in a very long time. And I
- 2:38don't know if it's because I work for myself and I'm working alone all the
- 2:42time by myself, and maybe that's why I enjoy to do things on my
- 2:46off time with friends and family. But I'm like, I really haven't had
- 2:50a night to myself where I've done nothing and have done the things that I
- 2:53enjoyed doing. So what I did is on the Friday night, I did
- 3:00a few of my favorite things. I ordered takeout from one of my favorite
- 3:04places. I ordered it from Mad Radish and I got this bowl called the
- 3:07Maple Farm Salad. It is amazing. Trust me, guys, you need
- 3:13to try it. If you guys have a Mad Radish near you, one
- 3:15hundred percent recommend it. And then after I had my takeout, while I
- 3:19was eating it, I was online shopping. I'm obsessed with online shopping.
- 3:23What girl isn't. We always love to do some retail therapy. I always,
- 3:27sometimes even just like to browse websites and see what's new at my favorite
- 3:30brands like Zara or Ritzia revolve. All that just browsing through their sites,
- 3:36finding some inspo for some things that I might already have to create some outfits.
- 3:40All that because you guys know, as I mentioned, I always love
- 3:43finding new fashion pieces. But for once, I didn't damage my credit card.
- 3:47I didn't end up buying anything that night, but I am on a
- 3:52budget with everything going on in my life right now, got wedding stuff to
- 3:57plan, got to purchase some bridal stuff, all that which we are going
- 4:00to touch on at the end of this episode. I feel like I haven't
- 4:03done a bit of an update with you guys in a while, so I'm
- 4:05going to give you guys a personal life update at the end of this episode
- 4:10and just kind of give you guys some things that are going on in my
- 4:14life. Just explains some stuff that's going on. So anyways, did some
- 4:18you know, retail shopping again. Didn't order anything, but just was like
- 4:21browsing through online on my computer and just eating my takeout again. The vibes
- 4:27are great. I'm feeling good. Such a good night. And then to
- 4:30top it all off, I had my favorite dairy free ice cream by the
- 4:34brand So Delicious, the Cookie Crumble ice cream. The name of the ice
- 4:40cream says it all right there, Cookie Crumble the most amazing dairy free ice
- 4:44cream I've ever had. I can eat dairy. I'm not like lactose specifically,
- 4:48like very strict on no dairy. I just liked to eat dairy free
- 4:51ice cream just because sometimes my stomach herds. Sometimes it doesn't. But anyways,
- 4:56if you are a dairy free girl, you need to try that brand
- 5:00is so delicious Cookie Carmebat ice cream. It is going to change your life.
- 5:03So I had a tub of ice cream on my cloud couch watching the
- 5:10most recent episode of The Kardashians because I love a reality TV show. I'm
- 5:15a soccer for them. So that was my Friday night, and I went
- 5:20to bed I think at like ten pm, Like I didn't go to bed
- 5:23that late. And it made me realize that I need to have more nights
- 5:27like that. I need to have more nights to myself, enjoying my own
- 5:30company and just doing my favorite things that I love to do. And I
- 5:34am a homebody. I've realized that through COVID. Once we got out of
- 5:38COVID, I was like, I enjoy being at home. I'm not the
- 5:41biggest, like going out kind of person, but I do allow myself to
- 5:46go out with my friends. So you need to have that balance, right,
- 5:47You need to have that balance of enjoying your lone time but also enjoying
- 5:51your social time and going out with friends and all that and I still go
- 5:56out. I still like to have a few drinks with my friends. I
- 5:58wouldn't say I really like to go out club, but I like to go
- 6:00chin new restaurants. I'd like to go to nice restaurants for drinks and all
- 6:03that. But again, it's all about balance. So I really feel like
- 6:09I haven't really prioritized the balance of me spending time alone. And that's why
- 6:15I kind of wanted to touch in this episode about finding ways and things to
- 6:18do to allow yourself to enjoy your own company. And so I'm going to
- 6:24talk about the perfect day in my opinion, and this again, as I
- 6:29said, in my opinion, it's just things that personally I would like to
- 6:32do in order for it to be the most perfect day. So this is
- 6:35just an example of what is perfect to me. It might not be perfect
- 6:39for you. But I'm also going to share some examples as to what you
- 6:43guys can do in your solo free time if these are other things that you
- 6:49would like to do. So let's get into the most perfect solo day.
- 6:55Okay, so we're starting our day. We just woke up, and to
- 6:59me, the most perfect start to the day is an early morning, no
- 7:02matter what, No matter if it's the weekend, no matter if I was
- 7:06up till two am, you know, at night, I always want to
- 7:10be up at seven am, Like, I don't want to be up any
- 7:13earlier than that, any later than that. To me, I enjoy waking
- 7:16up early. I feel like it starts my day on the right foot.
- 7:19I feel like whenever I wake up late, I feel like my day is
- 7:23all out of work, all like unorganized and all that. I just feel
- 7:27like I'm the most productive in the morning. So for me, the most
- 7:30perfect way to start my solo day is to wake up early and get everything
- 7:36done as soon as I wake up, Like, have my breakfast, have
- 7:40my greens, like, do all the morning things I love to do,
- 7:42maybe add a little meditation all that Like that to me would be the perfect
- 7:46little morning before going into the rest of the day. Next, I would
- 7:50book a workout class. To me, I love doing solo workout classes.
- 7:56I find it's super fun to get out of the house and sweat your ass
- 7:59off. To me, it's the best feeling. And you could book a
- 8:03spinning class, you could book a you know, just like an F forty
- 8:05five class, a pilates class, whatever, or even just go to your
- 8:09gym. You guys know how much I love working out. To me,
- 8:11it's so therapeutic. It's great for your mental health. I just love a
- 8:16great sweat, and personally for me, I have been in my spinning era,
- 8:18as you guys know, and I just find the classes so motivational.
- 8:24With the loud music, with the group environment, with the black room like
- 8:28it's pitch black, you're writing your butt off. It's just the best sweat
- 8:33and I feel so good after that class. So to me, having a
- 8:37spin class right after my little morning routine would be the perfect way to start
- 8:45my solo day. And you guys know, as I said, I'm always
- 8:48doing spin classes. I've always talked about spin classes, but sometimes it's also
- 8:52good to try different classes. So there is a new studio that actually opened
- 8:54up in Westboro. I think I mentioned it in the last podcast episode.
- 8:58It's called the Playground. I've booked a workout class with my sister this week
- 9:01to do the pilates class, so keep you guys posted on that. But
- 9:07again, it seems very similar to the spinning vibe. It's a dark room,
- 9:11it's a group environments, and it's Matt pilates, so I will keep
- 9:16you guys posted on that. But I'm trying something new. I'm not doing
- 9:18it by myself. I'm doing it with my sister just because she wants to
- 9:20try it as well. But it's always good to try out different worker classes.
- 9:24So if you're you know, a gym girl that's always going to the
- 9:28gym on a regular basis, and you want to have your perfect solo day,
- 9:31maybe it's good to try something different and try a different worker class.
- 9:35Just book something that you win typically do, and just allow yourself to get
- 9:39out of your comfort zone. So that's the perfect way to start the solo
- 9:43day is waking up early, getting your morning in, and booking a workout
- 9:46class. So once I'm done my workout class, I had a good sweat,
- 9:50I had a good morning, I'm then going to hit up my favorite
- 9:52coffee shop. You guys know how I feel about my vanilla oat latte's.
- 9:58I always love to to my favorite local coffee shop. Now is Starbucks is
- 10:03your choice? Obviously Starbucks is fine, but I personally find going to my
- 10:07local shops are better because I find the coffee quality is a lot better.
- 10:11If you're a matcha girl, go get your favorite macha. Just treat yourself.
- 10:16I find treating yourself, especially after a workout, is so rewarding and
- 10:20it feels good. And also it's just like the girly things, you know,
- 10:24I don't know, it's just those little things that make you feel so
- 10:26good. It's I know, you guys might say, oh, Kayley,
- 10:31all this involves spending money, and it's like, well, spending money sometimes
- 10:33feels good. It's just the reality, like you can do some of these
- 10:37things at home, but there's no better feeling than leaving your home and doing
- 10:41these things. That's what personally makes me feel good is leaving my home and
- 10:45doing these things. It's almost like rewarding myself for getting out of the house
- 10:48because you know, a lot of the time, like I said, there
- 10:50is people that are homebodies and they get a little too comfortable at home and
- 10:52then never leave. So it's good to push yourself out of your comfort zone
- 10:58and get out of the house more and by doing a workout class, by
- 11:01you know, going to your favorite coffee shop all that. So I'm gonna
- 11:03hit up my favorite coffee shop. I'm gonna get my favorite vanilla oat ice
- 11:07latte and after that, I'm gonna go on a Hawkrow walk. I'm gonna
- 11:11put on my headphones. I'm gonna put on a podcast or maybe even a
- 11:15meditation or you know, putting on music. Whatever makes you happy when you
- 11:20go on a walk. I always love to walk for like twenty to thirty
- 11:22minutes. I do not base my walks off of like how many miles did
- 11:26I walk or kilometers like. I strictly just walk for however long I want
- 11:31to walk, and I walk Freddie with me. I go in a nice
- 11:33trail or a nice area. Usually I walk in the trails by my place,
- 11:37but if I'm going to a coffee shop, I'll walk in the area.
- 11:41There's a little strip in Stittsville for where I live. It's like a
- 11:43little community and there's a bunch of like a little coffee shops, flower shops
- 11:48all that. It's like a very cute, little small town vibe. And
- 11:52yeah, you guys know how I feel about hawk Grow walks. It's just
- 11:54to me again, something very therapeutic to me. Next, you're gonna hit
- 11:58up a flower shop and buy yourself flowers. You cannot tell me that when
- 12:03you buy yourself flowers, it doesn't make you happy. And not only does
- 12:07it make you happy, I find it really adds a more homey feel in
- 12:13my home. Like if it's gloomy out or anything like that, if I
- 12:16see a vase of flowers in my home, I immediately still feel like very
- 12:20homey, if that makes sense. Like I feel good when there's flowers in
- 12:24my home. So right now, I literally don't have flowers in my home,
- 12:26and it's making me want to go buy myself flowers. But yeah,
- 12:31there's no better feeling than even like when you can create your own bouquet.
- 12:35I find that's really fun. Like sometimes when you just go to a local
- 12:37grocery store to pick up flowers, you can do that, but if you
- 12:39actually go to a flower shop, sometimes you're allowed to customize the bouquet yourself,
- 12:43which is actually really fun. I find being able to pick, you
- 12:46know, the flowers that you find are the most esthetic, the most beautiful,
- 12:50the ones that just capture your eye or anything like that. And just
- 12:54building a bouquet yourself is kind of also a fun activity. So yeah,
- 13:00buying yourself flowers will make you happy. Don't tell me that it doesn't,
- 13:05because it definitely does. So next after going to the coffee shop and picking
- 13:09up your favorite flowers, you're gonna go home, You're gonna put yourself together,
- 13:15and you're gonna be a tourist in your own city. What I've realized
- 13:18is being in a small town like I live in Ottawa, there's only a
- 13:22million people, so it's still considered big, but to other areas in Canada,
- 13:26it's really not. But what I've realized is that I really enjoy discovering
- 13:31new parts of my city. I've lived here my whole life. I was
- 13:35born and raised here, and I find them still finding new areas that I've
- 13:39never been in that I'm discovering that, you know, makes me want to
- 13:41go back. So I definitely like to leave my area where I live.
- 13:46So I live in like a neighborhood, but I don't really live close to
- 13:50downtown Ottawa. So downtown Ottawa is more like where all the tourist attractions are,
- 13:54the malls, the top restaurants and bars all that. So I always
- 13:58enjoy, you know, leaving my neighborhood and actually exploring other parts of my
- 14:03city. And it could even be just like walking around a park or hitting
- 14:07up a patio or just exploring different parts of your hometown. So I've realized
- 14:11that I really enjoy that because it makes me appreciate the place that I live
- 14:16even more, because sometimes I feel like I'm always like, oh, Ottawa's
- 14:18so boring, like, you know, I don't live in Toronto or Vancouver,
- 14:22where it's a bit more you know, well known for Canada. I
- 14:24feel like a lot of people don't realize that Ottawa's the capital of Canada because
- 14:28it's smaller and it's just not very like well known to people who don't really
- 14:33know Canada. But anyways, I feel like I'm always trying to make the
- 14:37most of where I live, and I always appreciate, you know, living
- 14:41in Canada and living in Ottawa specifically. But I'm a very homebody kind of
- 14:46person, meaning like I've talked about moving with Zach to the States potentially or
- 14:50other parts of Canada, but what I would miss the most is my family
- 14:54and my friends, Like that's what I appreciate the most. So yeah,
- 14:58anyways, I try and find ways to appreciate my city by still treating it
- 15:03as a place that, you know, I can explore new areas and still
- 15:05make it fun by trying different areas of my city. Okay, Next is
- 15:11booking yourself a pamper appointment. I've talked about this so many times, but
- 15:15there's no better feeling anything booking a massage or booking a facial, or getting
- 15:18your nails done or a pedicure. This reminds me that I need to book
- 15:22a mani petty because my nails are completely grown. But I love pampering myself.
- 15:28I love going to get a manny or a petty done. You can
- 15:31also do it yourself at home if you're someone that likes to always just have
- 15:37their nails done or their toes done. I find it always makes you feel
- 15:41so much more put together. But it's also nice to treat yourself and again
- 15:43get out of the house and do something for yourself. So that would definitely
- 15:48be something that would be like the cherry on top two, making the day
- 15:52even more perfect by booking an appointment that just makes you feel good. Another
- 15:58thing you're going to do is you're going to pick your favorite lunch spot.
- 16:03I feel like this is a lot in one day. Who knows if we
- 16:04have the time to do all this, but we're just hypothetically assuming that we
- 16:08have all this time. In the world to do all this stuff in one
- 16:11day. But then you're going to go to your favorite lunch spot. For
- 16:15me, I again love going in my small little neighborhood, going to a
- 16:19cute little lunch spot, hitting up a patio. There's a place that I
- 16:23love that is by my house called Quitters, and it's this cute little coffee
- 16:29shop. But they have really really good lunch options and their patio is so
- 16:33so cute. It's like little picnic tables. They have like a garden area,
- 16:38areas with umbrellas all that. And to me, like the perfect lunch
- 16:42date with myself would be, you know, hitting up that patio, bringing
- 16:47my laptop, getting work done. If you're the kind of person that likes
- 16:49to read, then bring your book, have your favorite lunch. I would
- 16:53love to have like a panini or something, and just like sit at the
- 16:59coffee shop while lunch spot and just like be in your own zone. I
- 17:04don't know. To me, that would be absolutely perfect. So think of
- 17:10your favorite lunch spot and maybe this weekend pick some time for you to go
- 17:14do that and just have some alone time, just have a solo day and
- 17:18like I said, grab yourself a book or bring your laptop and get some
- 17:22work done. I feel like it's so yeah therapeutic, just to like be
- 17:27on your own and hitting up your favorite spot at the same time. So
- 17:30we're still talking about food here. So we've had our lunch, we've had
- 17:33our little afternoon. Obviously we're gonna have to have dinner. So for me,
- 17:37I love to cook. You guys know that I'm a huge food lover,
- 17:41Like I just love to try new recipes and just you know, always
- 17:45changing up my meals here at my house. And for me, the perfect
- 17:49night would be for me to try and recreate a famous recipe that I've probably
- 17:55seen on TikTok, like the Gighadid pasta, the fed Up pasta, all
- 18:00that I'm a big pasta lover. Anything with carbs I love. So for
- 18:03me, the ideal night would be to recreate a famous TikTok recipe. Like
- 18:08if I could think of the one meal that I'm thinking in my head right
- 18:11now that I would want to make, it would be the Gigi hud Deed
- 18:14past I don't know if you guys have ever tried it, but it is
- 18:15so good. It is the perfect spicy vodka like rose pasta. Sauce.
- 18:22Oh my god, it's so good. I'm like literally creating it right now.
- 18:25But that would be like my ideal night. It would be to make
- 18:29a home cooked meal and just enjoying the cooking process and enjoying the meal after
- 18:34that. Just there's no better feeling than being at home and cooking your favorite
- 18:38meal. There's just something about the vibes that just are high and it just
- 18:44yeah, it just makes me feel good. And then once you've had your
- 18:48favorite dinner, obviously you need to clean up. We're going to ignore that
- 18:49part because I as much as I love cleaning and it feels good after,
- 18:55I do also hate cleaning. There's a love hate relationship with cleaning. But
- 18:57after that, you're going to give yourself a little spawn night. You're gonna
- 19:00put on a face mask, put on an eyemask, take a bath,
- 19:03just have a little spawn night at home. I feel like bodycare is something
- 19:07I always lack, so I always try and make it a priority to you
- 19:11know, use body serums, body scrubs, exfolians, all that. Especially
- 19:15when you have that shower where you're using those products, it always feels so
- 19:21good. One thing that I've recently been trying that I just got recently is
- 19:23the way body scrub. It is amazing and it smells like you're on vacation.
- 19:32That is the best way to explain it. It smells so so good.
- 19:36It's something that I've recently discovered and it has been a game changer.
- 19:38So I'm just randomly adding that product into this because I have recently became obsessed
- 19:44with it and I love it. But that's something I would do to end
- 19:47my night. And then lastly, to top off this perfect day of your
- 19:52solo date, is watching your favorite movie, not TV show movie. There's
- 19:57something about movies that I fine, are just like so much better. And
- 20:03this is kind of funny. The other night I never told you guys this,
- 20:06but I had a night to myself, Zach. I think was at
- 20:07a baseball game or something, and I was just like in the mood for
- 20:12like a good romantic like Nicholas Sparks movie that I haven't seen in like years.
- 20:18I always loved to find the good movies that came out years ago that
- 20:22used to watch in the movie theaters and all that. So one movie that
- 20:26I watched in the movie theaters, I want to say, like maybe seven
- 20:30years ago, six years ago. I don't know how old this movies.
- 20:32I forgot the Longest Ride. Please tell me you guys have seen that movie.
- 20:37I sat in my room and I cried for like twenty minutes straight at
- 20:41the ending scene because it was just, oh my god, it was so
- 20:45good. I cried my eyes out. If you haven't seen that movie,
- 20:48guys, you need to. I'm telling you right now. If you cry
- 20:52watching a movie, it's a good movie. In my opinion. If I'm
- 20:56crying, you know it's a good movie. So you definitely need to watch
- 20:59that movie. You haven't. Another really good movie that I love is the
- 21:02best of me. Oh, I need to watch that one. All these
- 21:04movies I think are on Disney Plus if you guys have it. But I
- 21:08love a good Nicholas Sparks movie. It always gets me so emotional and fun
- 21:15fact about me, I honestly think I'm the most emotional person in the world.
- 21:17I'm not even over exaggery. I cry about everything, like I see
- 21:22an ig reel or something or a TikTok about whether it's a dog or a
- 21:26wedding or something, and I'm crying, like I'm literally crying. I don't
- 21:29know why. I'm such an emotional person. I feel like I cry over
- 21:33everything. If you guys, listen to my proposal episode where I told you
- 21:37guys, Zach and I literally cried for like three hours straight, Like who
- 21:41are we? Like? Why are these kinds of people where we're just always
- 21:44crying? But anyways, they're all happy tears obviously, well, I mean,
- 21:47unless I'm watching the sad movie that I watch, they're obviously not happy
- 21:49tears. But in general, it's fine to be an emotional person. I'm
- 21:52embracing about me being emotional about everything, but it's fine, Okay, So
- 21:57that would be like my perfect day, My perfect solo day would be to
- 22:02do all those things, but for other date ideas or things that you can
- 22:07do by yourself. This is something that I've been really wanting to do,
- 22:10is just teaching yourself a new hobby. One thing that I've been really wanting
- 22:14to try this summer is just painting. I haven't paint on a canvas since
- 22:18I was like maybe an elementary school, maybe high school, I'm not sure,
- 22:22but I suck at painting, But I definitely feel like that's something that
- 22:26I would like to learn. I've always wanted to, like, paint something
- 22:29from my home and being able to like hang it up. I think I
- 22:32need to practice a bit more if I'm gonna be putting a piece artwork up
- 22:36that I painted in my home. But it's definitely something that I've always wanted
- 22:40to try. There's also a lot of like paint classes that you can go
- 22:41to that's something that I've been wanting to try, or like pottery classes.
- 22:48This is not really a solo thing, but I would love to do like
- 22:49a paint in wine night with my girlfriends, Like that'd be really fun to
- 22:52host here at my place. But yeah, that's definitely something that I've been
- 22:56wanting to teach myself. Is just trying a new hobby. I think that's
- 23:02something that a lot of people could do in their solo time. Another idea
- 23:06is planning a staycation, so booking yourself a little weekend getaway just you,
- 23:11yourself and I nobody else and just having a weekend and doing your favorite thing.
- 23:15So kind of like everything that I explained, you could really do that
- 23:18in a whole weekend and make a whole weekend trip out of it and make
- 23:22it the perfect solo weekend, and it could just be an Airbnb, it
- 23:26could be a hotel, it could be like a city that's super close by
- 23:29to you that you could just drive to. Yeah, I don't know.
- 23:32I've never done a solo staycation, but it definitely sounds like something that I
- 23:36would be willing to try. Something that is definitely one of my comfort zone.
- 23:40But I think it'd be nice to have a weekend to yourself. Okay,
- 23:44this next one is kind of like taking yourself out to lunch. You
- 23:45can just take yourself out to dinner, go to a fancy restaurant, order
- 23:48yourself a glass of wine, an amazing pasta dish or pizza dish or your
- 23:52favorite dinner, and again just enjoying your own companies. So it's always nice
- 23:57to get dressed up. And Yeah, if you're not in a relationship and
- 24:00you don't have those nights where you get to go on a date night because
- 24:03you don't have a partner, who freaking cares If you don't have a partner,
- 24:07go by yourself. Just take yourself on a date. Maybe you can
- 24:10sit by the bar and you can meet, you know, other people.
- 24:12You don't have to be in a relationship to go on a date. So
- 24:15definitely romanticize a date night to yourself by treating yourself to a restaurant that you
- 24:22really like and just go by yourself and get dressed up. So those are
- 24:26just additional ideas that you can do for a little solo date night or date
- 24:30day or whatever. But know that it's so important to create that balance between
- 24:37your social interactions with being with your friends, being with your family, and
- 24:41being with your partner, but also being able to enjoy your own company.
- 24:45I think last weekend made me realize how much I actually enjoy being alone and
- 24:51doing those little things that I enjoy, because obviously I live with Zach,
- 24:55and you know, sometimes Zach doesn't want to do those things that I want
- 24:57to do. So it's nice to be able to to have a night to
- 25:00myself and do those little things that I enjoy. So this is your sign
- 25:04to give yourself a solo date or a solo day and just do all your
- 25:10favorite things that make you happy. And again, this is not something you
- 25:12have to do every single week, but it's definitely important to create that balance
- 25:17where you're able to enjoy your own company but also enjoy spending your time with
- 25:21friends and family. Okay, so let me give you guys a bit of
- 25:25a life update, because I feel like I have not touched on some of
- 25:29these things in a hot minute. So I feel like I get a lot
- 25:33of messages on the Instagram about my engagements, wedding all that. So I'm
- 25:38going to throw out the wedding just because obviously I've been engaged now for I
- 25:44think it's five months, which kind of sounds really crazy to me. How
- 25:47anyways, how time just flew by, but weddings take a long time,
- 25:52guys, So I really don't have any wedding updates, like I have little
- 25:55updates that I'll share with you guys, but know that realistically, like more
- 26:00wedding stuff that I'll be sharing will be more like next year, I find
- 26:03because I'm in the very beginning stages of planning and me and Zach are really
- 26:07not trying to rush it, Like I feel like a year is very common
- 26:11to plan a wedding. So once I have more information, I will definitely
- 26:15share more information. But right now, for me, I'm still focused on
- 26:18engagement, even though we've been engaged for five months, and I mentioned in
- 26:23an episode a few episodes ago that we're doing a really big engagement party.
- 26:27Like, essentially, my engagement party is kind of a wedding. I don't
- 26:30want to say it's a wedding, but we're inviting a lot more people because
- 26:33we're having a more intimate wedding. So right now, my focus has been
- 26:37entirely that, like ordering furniture, making sure I have vendors for like hair
- 26:41and makeup outfits, like I still don't have address. I need to go
- 26:45shopping for address, like all those little things. So my focus has been
- 26:48primarily on that, and I feel like I've kind of pushed work a bit
- 26:52to the side lately. I feel like I've been really focused on just trying
- 26:56to get all the stuff for the engagement party done since we're really close to
- 27:00it. My engagement parties in September, so it's almost July, which means
- 27:04I'm two months away. But I need to be obviously planning in advance for
- 27:08a lot of these things. So anyways, one little update that I have,
- 27:12which I'm really excited about, is I finally booked my engagement photo shoot.
- 27:15I've been waiting to book the photo shoot just to find the right photographer,
- 27:19and I finally found one, and I'm so excited. So Zach and
- 27:23I are doing our engagement shoot in July, so literally in a few weeks.
- 27:29So right now I'm in the process of just trying to find outfits for
- 27:30the photo shoot. We're going to do two different looks, So if you
- 27:33guys have any recommendations on where to shop for bridle dresses or anything like that,
- 27:38I've been trying to browse through like TikTok and all that to find some
- 27:41inspo. But I have been looking at like Meshki, Revolve four three seven,
- 27:47Bridle Houses CB, so if you're a bride and if you're looking for
- 27:52some outfits, they have some pretty cute options. So trying to find like
- 27:55a cute short dress and a cute long dress for the photos, and then
- 27:57I have another outfit that I have to wear for the engagement party. So
- 28:02it's already sounding expensive spending all this money on white outfits, but it's fine,
- 28:07it will all work out in the end. And then last wedding update
- 28:11I lied this is one more wedding update is that I'm finally making my bridesmaide
- 28:15proposal boxes, so I will be letting you guys know like what I put
- 28:21in them and all that I'm gonna be filming the whole entire thing. I'm
- 28:23hoping to start filming it probably in the next week or two. I still
- 28:26have a few more products that have to come in. I just recently found
- 28:32like gift boxes that I actually like that I'm going to put the product in
- 28:34and all that. So, Yeah, the only hint I will give is
- 28:38I'm making the whole bridal proposal box theme travel since my destination is a destination
- 28:47wedding, so the whole theme is going to be traveled. That's the only
- 28:49hint will give. But it's so good. I'm so excited. I literally
- 28:53picked every single product of just things that I love, like brands that I
- 28:56love, products that I love all that. So if you guys are again
- 29:00in your bridal era right now and you guys need some inspo, definitely make
- 29:03sure to follow me on socials. You guys will see that video shortly.
- 29:07I've been back in my home decor era. I've been ordering a bunch of
- 29:11home products lately. I have some things that I just want to finalize in
- 29:18my home, Like I feel like my living room is still not complete.
- 29:19I need a rug. So I found a rug. I think I'm going
- 29:22to order the larger size. I really want to hang some picture frames,
- 29:26but I also want to wait until Zach and I get our engagement photos back
- 29:29to put some of them in. I'm not going to make my whole wall
- 29:30about our engagement, but I do want to add a few nice photos because
- 29:34Zach and I actually don't have any professional photos taken, which is kind of
- 29:38funny, but after ten years of gating, you think we'd have professional photos
- 29:41taken, but we do not. So anyways, I might just put pictures
- 29:45in there for now until after our engagement photos shoot, but we shall see.
- 29:51But I'm excited to get some picture frames up and just again get back
- 29:55in the decorating process of the house. But I think that's everything that I
- 29:59can think. From a personal update, I have my best friend's wedding,
- 30:02which you guys know that i'm the maid of honor for, and I'm actually
- 30:06meeting with Alissa's cousin this week to talk about speeches. I'm kind of nervous
- 30:11to do a speech in front of a hundred and ten people at her wedding,
- 30:15but I will figure it out. I can record a podcast, so
- 30:18I'm sure I can stand up and do a speech. So anyways, that's
- 30:22what I have kind of going on. And then it's Canada Day this weekend,
- 30:27so I'm going to a cottage, which will be nice because i haven't
- 30:30really had a weekend getaway this summer yet, so I'm excited to go to
- 30:34a cottage with my best friends. But that's a bit of a personal update
- 30:40and just again some ideas for some solo date nights or solo days to yourself.
- 30:45But I hope you guys enjoyed this episode. You guys know how much
- 30:48I love you all. Definitely make sure to follow our Instagram at the Hawker
- 30:52Energy Podcast, as well as Kaylee the host on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube.
