0:21
SPEAKER_03: Agnes is drinking and it looks strong.
0:26
unknown: Hi.
0:28
SPEAKER_03: Every episode we discuss and dissect an episode of Lost and Order.
0:33
SPEAKER_03: And today we're gonna talk to Jamar about some season two fun stuff.
0:39
SPEAKER_03: And uh yeah, so we are your hosts.
0:41
SPEAKER_03: I'm Lisa.
0:42
SPEAKER_03: And I'm Agnes.
0:44
SPEAKER_03: And and Jamar, do you want to introduce yourself?
0:47
SPEAKER_00: Sure.
0:47
SPEAKER_00: Hi.
0:47
SPEAKER_00: I am Jamar Duran, and this is my second time on the podcast.
0:51
SPEAKER_00: I also host the podcast Look to the Cookie, and I am a big Lost fan, like a huge Lost fan.
0:58
SPEAKER_03: It was nice to have you again.
1:00
SPEAKER_03: Thank you.
1:00
SPEAKER_03: I'm so glad you came back.
1:02
SPEAKER_00: Of course.
1:03
SPEAKER_00: I thought you forgot about me or you didn't like me.
1:05
SPEAKER_00: I was like, wow, that's messed up.
1:07
SPEAKER_05: We've been talking about you the whole season.
1:08
SPEAKER_05: I'm like, is it time for a guest speaker again?
1:11
SPEAKER_05: I'm tired of us.
1:13
SPEAKER_00: Well now I feel bad because I only listened to like two episodes.
1:16
SPEAKER_00: I've listened to like maybe four episodes total.
1:18
SPEAKER_00: So I've never heard you mention me.
1:21
SPEAKER_05: To be fair, you've listened to four more than I have.
1:25
SPEAKER_00: That's fair.
1:26
SPEAKER_00: That is fair.
1:27
SPEAKER_00: I get that.
1:29
SPEAKER_03: So one of the things we do on our show is we drink.
1:33
SPEAKER_03: So what's everybody drinking today?
1:36
SPEAKER_01: I'll go.
1:37
SPEAKER_03: Okay, well, I'll go first.
1:38
SPEAKER_03: I have some red wine.
1:39
SPEAKER_03: Red wine, okay.
1:41
SPEAKER_03: I got the big bottle.
1:42
SPEAKER_00: Whoa! I'm gonna share that with you.
1:46
SPEAKER_00: Although that big bottle is empty.
1:48
SPEAKER_03: It is because I've been working on it.
1:50
SPEAKER_00: That's what I'm talking about.
1:55
SPEAKER_00: Be an interesting episode.
1:56
SPEAKER_00: I am drinking.
1:57
SPEAKER_00: Oh, I don't know if anybody ever sees this video, but this is a very classy, old-fashioned.
2:01
SPEAKER_00: That's what I've gotten into lately.
2:03
SPEAKER_03: So I've never had one of those.
2:05
SPEAKER_03: Nice.
2:05
SPEAKER_00: Yes, you should do it.
2:06
SPEAKER_00: I didn't try it until like a few years ago in San Francisco.
2:09
SPEAKER_00: And uh you take two sips and you feel real good.
2:12
SPEAKER_00: So now I get it.
2:13
SPEAKER_00: I get it.
2:13
SPEAKER_05: Now you get it.
2:14
SPEAKER_05: Like bring back the classics.
2:16
SPEAKER_05: I support that message.
2:18
SPEAKER_05: Well, I had some frozen kiwi, then I had cranberry juice, and then I had the little bottles of peach margarita.
2:26
SPEAKER_05: So I put it all together, and it's happiness in a glass.
2:31
SPEAKER_05: Okay.
2:32
SPEAKER_05: Okay.
2:33
SPEAKER_05: Your face looks like it was that's the lighting.
2:37
SPEAKER_05: So I think about midway into this episode, I'm gonna be completely sloshed and it's gonna be fun times.
2:44
SPEAKER_03: So since we're doing um season two, those are the only rules, right?
2:49
SPEAKER_03: We can't go past season two.
2:51
SPEAKER_00: Good to know.
2:52
SPEAKER_03: Okay.
2:52
SPEAKER_05: I'll I will do my if you wanna go ahead and just tell me our rest of the season and the series, I'm okay with that.
2:58
SPEAKER_03: In honor of uh the ending, do you see my shirt?
3:03
SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's dope.
3:04
SPEAKER_00: Now I gotta get some gear.
3:06
SPEAKER_00: I gotta get some gear.
3:08
SPEAKER_00: That's cool.
3:09
SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
3:10
SPEAKER_03: Um season two.
3:13
SPEAKER_03: Jamore, what's your take on it as a whole?
3:16
SPEAKER_00: Wow.
3:16
SPEAKER_00: So of course I watched this uh, I don't know, 2006, I think.
3:21
SPEAKER_03: Right.
3:22
SPEAKER_00: But because I know I was coming on the podcast, I did review.
3:24
SPEAKER_00: I actually watched like 13 episodes in the last couple days because I'm I'm legit.
3:30
SPEAKER_00: I don't want to sound like an idiot.
3:31
SPEAKER_00: Uh, and I listened to a couple of your podcasts too.
3:34
SPEAKER_00: Uh so one, I forgot that this was the big introduction to the tail of the plane, to the back half of the plane.
3:42
SPEAKER_00: I was like, okay, that's interesting.
3:43
SPEAKER_00: Because of course I know all these people, and I don't want to spoil stuff for Agnes, so it's just kind of like, oh yes, all of these people who are gonna be here for the rest of the series that I totally didn't forget existed.
3:55
SPEAKER_00: Just joking.
3:57
SPEAKER_03: But yeah, so season two, we open with the hatch, and then we meet Desmond, we meet the Tailys, and we meet Henry.
4:07
SPEAKER_00: Yes, and then it ends on Have you gotten to the ending of the season?
4:12
SPEAKER_03: Yes, so we are completely done with season two.
4:15
SPEAKER_03: We haven't started season three yet.
4:16
SPEAKER_03: So when we left off, uh the big purple light in the sky, something happening in the hatch, and some of our survivors bound and gagged by the others.
4:30
SPEAKER_05: That sounds kind of fun.
4:33
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, uh, I listen, you guys are very uh sexual, is the only way to say it.
4:38
SPEAKER_00: You know, uh, which is fine.
4:40
SPEAKER_00: Nothing wrong with that.
4:41
SPEAKER_05: I just uh you know, for some reason, all jokes aside, people find sex to be a trigger, whether it's a good trigger, a bad trigger, or just like oh trigger.
4:52
SPEAKER_05: So fuck it.
4:53
SPEAKER_05: Let's throw it in there just to fuck with people's heads a little bit.
4:56
SPEAKER_05: Either get them interested or offend them.
4:58
SPEAKER_05: Either way, it's a win for us.
5:00
SPEAKER_05: Alright.
5:01
SPEAKER_00: I wasn't against it, but uh you do not shy away from it.
5:05
SPEAKER_00: And there are these obvious jokes, and you don't let them go like I gotta say.
5:10
SPEAKER_00: Do you know what you just said?
5:12
SPEAKER_03: I think I think my favorite one was when uh Sawyer tells Hurley, he's like, I know you got a load to drop in.
5:20
SPEAKER_03: That was ridiculous.
5:21
SPEAKER_03: I was like, that's the Agnes comeback.
5:23
SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
5:24
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
5:26
SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
5:27
SPEAKER_03: Uh you know, it is what it is.
5:29
SPEAKER_00: But yeah, you really just put season two into focus because it's not one of my favorite seasons.
5:34
SPEAKER_00: Well, I would rank it third among the it's six seasons, right?
5:39
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
5:39
SPEAKER_00: I would rank it third.
5:40
SPEAKER_00: So that's not bad.
5:42
SPEAKER_00: But um, it really is a foundational season.
5:45
SPEAKER_00: Like everything that matters happens.
5:46
SPEAKER_00: You just name like three or four things that are key.
5:49
SPEAKER_00: I guess I don't want to blow it too much, but that person, that person, it's the whole show.
5:55
SPEAKER_00: It's the whole show.
5:57
SPEAKER_03: What is your favorite?
5:58
SPEAKER_03: And you don't know it yet.
5:59
SPEAKER_03: What is your favorite season?
6:01
SPEAKER_03: I know you've talked about this the last time you were on, but just you know, as a refresher.
6:05
SPEAKER_00: Season four is my favorite season, like by far.
6:08
SPEAKER_00: I just want to watch it again.
6:09
SPEAKER_00: And then after that is season five.
6:11
SPEAKER_00: And I I won't spoil it, but I will say Lost is a show about questions and finding answers.
6:16
SPEAKER_00: If there are answers, it's in those seasons.
6:19
SPEAKER_00: And that's why I was just like, oh, oh my what?
6:22
SPEAKER_00: The whole like two years.
6:23
SPEAKER_00: So season four, season five.
6:25
SPEAKER_05: That's so can you skip season three and go four to five of these stuff?
6:29
SPEAKER_05: Alright, I tried.
6:30
SPEAKER_03: No.
6:31
SPEAKER_03: One of the things that Agnes wants to do is watch an episode out of order.
6:36
SPEAKER_03: What do you think about it?
6:37
SPEAKER_05: No, I wanted a whole season out of order.
6:39
SPEAKER_05: You said an episode.
6:41
SPEAKER_05: The whole thing.
6:42
SPEAKER_05: Okay, the series finale.
6:44
SPEAKER_05: Let's watch that one first.
6:46
SPEAKER_00: Do not do that.
6:48
SPEAKER_00: Don't do that.
6:49
SPEAKER_00: That don't do that.
6:52
SPEAKER_00: That's the one thing you don't want to see, that's for sure.
6:55
SPEAKER_00: Um, and I so don't look at the last episode.
6:57
SPEAKER_00: And I would say if you watched the last season, you'd just be confused and upset.
7:01
SPEAKER_00: Not because it's bad.
7:03
SPEAKER_00: Not because it's bad, but you'd just be like, what the hell's going on?
7:07
SPEAKER_00: I just okay.
7:09
SPEAKER_00: Don't do that.
7:09
SPEAKER_05: It's a okay.
7:10
SPEAKER_05: I think the show and I it's I can appreciate the value of the show.
7:15
SPEAKER_05: It's just me and it, we can never live a long, happy life together.
7:19
SPEAKER_00: Oh, I'm so sad.
7:20
SPEAKER_00: I watched those 13 episodes or whatever, and I thought of you the whole time, like, does she like it yet?
7:25
SPEAKER_00: I hope she likes it.
7:26
SPEAKER_00: Did she see that?
7:28
SPEAKER_05: She's I did enjoy this season a lot more than season one.
7:32
SPEAKER_00: First season.
7:33
SPEAKER_00: Okay, good.
7:33
SPEAKER_05: It was a little bit like, okay, how much foundation are you really pouring on this?
7:37
SPEAKER_05: Like, there's enough foundation for a New York City block.
7:40
SPEAKER_05: Like, can we get with it now?
7:43
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you might have to wait a couple more seasons.
7:45
SPEAKER_05: No, it was a better season.
7:47
SPEAKER_05: I like four.
7:49
SPEAKER_05: Okay, so I quit four more.
7:51
SPEAKER_05: Okay, I quit.
7:52
SPEAKER_05: Jamar, you are now the co-cohost of that tips.
7:56
SPEAKER_00: You just gotta get through season three and uh get through half of four.
8:01
SPEAKER_03: Summer five, and you know I hate you guys.
8:05
SPEAKER_00: Six is the you know and I don't know, watch six or don't watch six, whatever.
8:09
SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
8:11
SPEAKER_00: I don't know what to tell you.
8:39
SPEAKER_03: If you could describe, Jamar, if you could describe an overall theme for season two, what would it be?
8:46
SPEAKER_03: Because I've been thinking about this since the last time that you actually were on when you talked about how every season is kind of focused on something else.
8:58
SPEAKER_03: So I've been thinking about that for myself, and uh, we're gonna do like a recap episode.
9:04
SPEAKER_03: So I've been thinking about these things, but I want to get your take on it.
9:07
SPEAKER_00: I just got it as you were talking and thinking.
9:09
SPEAKER_00: I don't know the best way to say it, but the theme for season two, and I think it uh goes forward, would be something like friends can be enemies or your friends are your enemies, or something like that.
9:23
SPEAKER_00: And uh I can tell you where some of that came from.
9:25
SPEAKER_00: Some of that came from in the very beginning, where you think that the people from the tail section are maybe the others, and they keep like fighting each other and shooting each other, and we know we have the actual others, and who knows where that goes.
9:37
SPEAKER_00: So there's a lot of relationships that uh could go either way or have gone both ways.
9:42
SPEAKER_00: Or I guess you've seen what happened with Michael and et cetera, et cetera.
9:46
SPEAKER_00: So your friends are your enemies, I guess.
9:49
SPEAKER_05: That has a lot to do.
9:51
SPEAKER_05: It's funny that he said that because my comment that I made on our last episode about um the season finale and what um dude.
10:02
SPEAKER_03: Which we we actually just recorded, but it obviously it hasn't aired yet.
10:05
SPEAKER_03: So what did he say?
10:06
SPEAKER_03: What is it at the time of this recording?
10:08
SPEAKER_05: The character formerly known as Henry Gale.
10:11
SPEAKER_05: Oh, the yeah, and he was like, we're the good guys, and I could see that really goes straight to your point about enemies, enemies, good, bad.
10:20
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, for the bad.
10:22
SPEAKER_05: So I tell we should hear the point when um she does the edits.
10:27
SPEAKER_03: Agnes.
10:29
SPEAKER_03: Um, so we talked about the whole connection between the name Henry Gale and the Wizard of Oz and that kind of theme about the you know, the whole man behind the curtain type deal.
10:42
SPEAKER_04: Sure, yeah, and the balloon.
10:44
SPEAKER_04: Right.
10:46
SPEAKER_04: It is, right?
10:47
SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
10:48
SPEAKER_03: Um and so she's convinced, she was convinced that he was basically speaking about himself in the third person, you know, when she he talks about him and he's the leader.
10:59
SPEAKER_03: But then by the time we got to the end, and he's in a position of authority, she's like, shit, that was too easy.
11:06
SPEAKER_05: Now what I was like, wait, I was right?
11:08
SPEAKER_05: No, something's not right here.
11:11
SPEAKER_03: What do you think of her observations?
11:14
SPEAKER_00: Well, I said before when I came on last time and I listened to a few of your episodes, it was rough because I was like, she's guessing this whole show.
11:20
SPEAKER_00: Like, I don't know what you do.
11:21
SPEAKER_03: That and I just right about one of those things.
11:24
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and I saw you kind of navigating her away, like, no, but it could be this and every time, even in the last episode I listened to.
11:30
SPEAKER_00: I think it was the one about oh, I can't tell you because I spoiled it, but uh, one of your last episodes, she did it again, and you're like, Well, why wouldn't it be this?
11:38
SPEAKER_00: That's stupid.
11:41
SPEAKER_00: She did it again.
11:44
SPEAKER_05: Jamal! Thank you, thank you.
11:51
SPEAKER_03: But you know what?
11:52
SPEAKER_03: But there are times when you're completely wrong, and I'm like, but what about this?
11:57
SPEAKER_03: And I'm actually saying the truth.
11:59
SPEAKER_00: Right, right.
11:59
SPEAKER_00: I've heard that too.
12:01
SPEAKER_00: Which is how you do it.
12:02
SPEAKER_05: That's not your tail, Lisa.
12:04
SPEAKER_03: I haven't seen a dude show.
12:08
SPEAKER_00: It's it's hard.
12:09
SPEAKER_03: This show you wouldn't even know.
12:11
SPEAKER_03: Come on.
12:12
SPEAKER_03: Okay, because I told you that there was a hamster running the electricity on a wheel.
12:18
SPEAKER_03: And I might be right.
12:19
SPEAKER_05: So I wouldn't be surprised.
12:21
SPEAKER_03: Curly is the president of the island, and they're all actually dead.
12:25
SPEAKER_03: You don't know what to believe.
12:26
SPEAKER_05: Listen, I said that at the season one of our season one finale.
12:30
SPEAKER_05: I said, that's it, they're all dead.
12:32
SPEAKER_05: It's purgatory.
12:33
SPEAKER_05: When they die, they're actually going on to whatever, and I still stand by this.
12:37
SPEAKER_03: But then how do you explain Libby?
12:39
SPEAKER_03: I don't explain any what do you mean what I had to be?
12:42
SPEAKER_03: Your theory is that once they achieve whatever they need to achieve, that then they move on.
12:48
SPEAKER_03: Libby didn't do anything.
12:49
SPEAKER_03: Libby was going to get a blanket, so she couldn't.
12:51
SPEAKER_03: Maybe what she had to do was had to do with Hurley.
12:55
SPEAKER_03: Ooh.
12:58
SPEAKER_03: Fine.
13:02
SPEAKER_00: I mean, you're saying a lot of things that everyone said, you know, 15 years ago or whatever it was now.
13:08
SPEAKER_00: So it's not crazy and uh thank you.
13:10
SPEAKER_05: I'm not completely nuts.
13:11
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, no, so not at all.
13:12
SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of theories out there.
13:13
SPEAKER_00: A lot of theories.
13:15
SPEAKER_00: It's hard when you know exactly what happens.
13:17
SPEAKER_05: I know.
13:18
SPEAKER_05: I can imagine the pain and suffering you guys are going through.
13:21
SPEAKER_05: But this show leaves me so aggravated with the 101 questions.
13:26
SPEAKER_05: I'm like, if they're not dead, I'm killing myself because they're just pissing me the fuck off.
13:30
unknown: Like, I can't.
13:31
SPEAKER_00: I just need answers.
13:34
SPEAKER_00: What other uh questions?
13:36
SPEAKER_00: What other things do you need answers to outside of them being dead?
13:39
SPEAKER_05: I don't even know at this point because every episode, I'm like, okay, I feel satisfied, but then I'm like, the season finale, I'm like, what?
13:47
SPEAKER_05: Who wait, what?
13:49
SPEAKER_05: But fuck me, I give up.
13:51
SPEAKER_05: Like, it was just like I just went, I'm like, I'm done.
13:54
SPEAKER_05: I'm trying, I'm done trying to figure it out.
13:56
SPEAKER_05: I'm gonna sit and enjoy the show, and whatever comes, it comes.
14:02
SPEAKER_05: I think part of my frustration with the show is that I feel like I have to give feedback when we were recording.
14:09
SPEAKER_05: And sometimes I'm like, I don't know.
14:12
SPEAKER_05: It's like I had to like digest it and delve into and and dissect it.
14:17
SPEAKER_05: I'm like, this is just too much to dissect.
14:19
SPEAKER_05: So I think that's what frustrate frustrates me about watching this show.
14:23
SPEAKER_05: There's no I feel like I'm failing a test.
14:26
SPEAKER_05: No matter what answer I put, I'm gonna fail the test.
14:29
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think you you said the right thing.
14:30
SPEAKER_00: You gotta stop doing that and just enjoy the ride.
14:33
SPEAKER_00: As long as you're trying to answer it, you you're gonna like be frustrated.
14:37
SPEAKER_03: But I wanna see.
14:39
SPEAKER_03: No, wait, time out.
14:40
SPEAKER_03: Time out.
14:41
SPEAKER_03: When I ask you questions, it's not so that you can pass or fail a test.
14:46
SPEAKER_03: It's so that I can gauge what you're thinking as you're watching it.
14:52
SPEAKER_03: That's the whole point of the show.
14:54
SPEAKER_03: But what's you thinking?
14:54
SPEAKER_03: I'm like, I don't know, at this episode, I was thinking I wasn't thinking.
14:57
SPEAKER_05: Are you sure you weren't thinking anything?
14:58
SPEAKER_04: But what if girl, girl, I didn't care about that scene and it wasn't interesting.
15:06
SPEAKER_05: Fine.
15:07
SPEAKER_05: But we have fun, and that's what I tell her drink more, Lisa.
15:12
SPEAKER_05: Just drink more.
15:16
SPEAKER_03: Yes, ma'am.
15:18
SPEAKER_00: As um me watching it for the 800th time, actually, because one of my exes made me watch it over and over and over again, and then every person I dated after her wanted to watch it again.
15:27
SPEAKER_00: So I've seen it a lot.
15:28
SPEAKER_00: But um, this is the first time where I'm not into the mystery of the island, like I used to be, of course.
15:34
SPEAKER_00: But now I'm just like watching these great performances, and I'm watching great camera work and lighting and stuff, and like, wait a minute, even if this show was terrible, let's say it was, these are amazing performances, like they are putting their foot in it.
15:46
SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm just watching John deliver these lines.
15:48
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, damn, like it's really, really nice work from that.
15:52
SPEAKER_00: So now I'm kind of appreciating this whole different thing, and I can just watch it like a drama because I know the answers.
15:58
SPEAKER_00: You can enjoy and not try to figure it out, like they put a lot and enjoy all the things that they put into it, the references to earlier episodes and all that stuff.
16:09
SPEAKER_00: It's now it's really cool.
16:10
SPEAKER_00: Like, oh yeah, because he said that, and now they're saying it, you know, all that stuff.
16:14
SPEAKER_05: So the writing here, I gotta say, the character developments, the writing, the character arcs between the interpersonal relationships, phenomenal.
16:23
SPEAKER_05: It's as good as it gets.
16:25
SPEAKER_05: They lost, I don't know another show offhand that has succeeded in this measure.
16:32
SPEAKER_05: They're just awesome.
16:33
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's what I'm really enjoying right now.
16:36
SPEAKER_00: Um, and ignoring the smoke monster or whatever.
16:39
SPEAKER_03: But yeah, we haven't even like seen the smoke monster in some of the things.
16:43
SPEAKER_03: But you know what?
16:44
SPEAKER_05: It's funny.
16:45
SPEAKER_05: Like, we I forgot about the Hurley Bird until they made another appearance.
16:49
SPEAKER_05: I'm like, oh yeah.
16:50
SPEAKER_05: Um so I'm assuming the ver the smoke monster we'd be back sometime season three.
16:57
SPEAKER_05: I don't know, episode.
16:59
SPEAKER_05: I'm gonna put my bet down.
17:00
SPEAKER_05: Season three, episode three.
17:02
SPEAKER_05: I don't know, I'm just making up shit.
17:05
SPEAKER_00: Might be right, might be right.
17:08
SPEAKER_03: Jamar, how do you feel about the whole Michael arc?
17:13
SPEAKER_03: Killing off two survivors and then ditching them.
17:19
SPEAKER_00: I um was thinking about Michael a lot.
17:21
SPEAKER_00: I saw I saw a couple of those episodes, and of course, the ending of this season is one of the biggest moments in Lost history.
17:27
SPEAKER_00: Like everybody's like, oh my, what the you know, and uh I actually am into it.
17:32
SPEAKER_00: I when I watched it the first time, and I started with season two basically, Michael seemed a bit weird, erratic.
17:40
SPEAKER_00: I as a black man, I was just like, what a weird character.
17:42
SPEAKER_00: I was just like, what is what is he doing?
17:44
SPEAKER_00: But now I'll kind of get it, like um, this love for his son, and like I see what y'all do on this island, but I care about my boy and I gotta get my boy back.
17:53
SPEAKER_00: He seemed like really stupid and crazy, but I put myself in his shoes, like, what would I do and how would I feel?
17:58
SPEAKER_00: And how does his son feel and all those things?
18:00
SPEAKER_00: Like, of course that's what you do, and these other people don't care about his son.
18:04
SPEAKER_00: So, and then what would you do?
18:06
SPEAKER_00: So I thought a lot, like, would I kill somebody?
18:08
SPEAKER_00: How many people would I kill?
18:09
SPEAKER_00: We're not in the real world now where there's cops and judges, and nobody can help you or prosecute you.
18:14
SPEAKER_00: What do you do?
18:15
SPEAKER_00: And um, now I'm feeling like Michael, um, he's not as crazy as I thought he was the first go around.
18:21
SPEAKER_00: I really thought he was like and now it's like, oh no, I understand now.
18:25
SPEAKER_05: So it's funny, like uh I even though Michael is probably like the bad guy now, I like him more now than I did the season the first season.
18:34
SPEAKER_05: He's developed into he's not he wasn't selfish.
18:38
SPEAKER_05: It's almost like he grew up here.
18:40
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, he became a father.
18:41
SPEAKER_05: He grew up, he became an adult and became a father.
18:45
SPEAKER_05: And I feel like I think I like you a little bit more now, you know?
18:49
SPEAKER_03: And it's so easy to sit back and and be mad and hate him and but I would never ever want to have to be in his position.
19:04
SPEAKER_00: Right.
19:05
SPEAKER_00: I mean, honestly, I know I could do it easily, but I wouldn't want to be in that position at all.
19:10
SPEAKER_00: Like at all, at all.
19:12
SPEAKER_00: Um Wow, it's what a good show.
19:15
SPEAKER_00: They are in some situations on that island.
19:18
SPEAKER_00: Uh oh, it's just so hard to talk about this without referencing the future of everything.
19:23
SPEAKER_00: I mean, if you have to, it will be mad.
19:27
SPEAKER_00: Like every there's uh Charlie and people that are coming back, and uh it's just uh I can't say anything.
19:36
SPEAKER_00: Um something that I thought about though that I did want to mention because I forgot about this.
19:40
SPEAKER_00: The last time I was on the podcast, my favorite moment maybe in history of television was the um Gonna Take the Boy or whatever.
19:48
SPEAKER_00: And then I forgot that like my second favorite moment in this series is in this season, it's Light Hem Up, same guy.
19:54
SPEAKER_00: Right?
19:54
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the first time I saw that at like nine o'clock on the ABC, like after work, like, oh, what just happened?
20:00
SPEAKER_05: That was probably one of I now that you mentioned it, I think that was one of my favor probably my favorite scene.
20:05
SPEAKER_05: It was just so badass.
20:07
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's exactly how I felt.
20:08
SPEAKER_00: Zeke with his uh beard lighting him up, light him up, and you know what, to your credit, I still say give me the boy in Jamar fashion.
20:20
SPEAKER_05: You inspired me.
20:22
SPEAKER_03: That's what I hope that's why I said it like seven times.
20:25
SPEAKER_00: I wanted every listener to have my voice in their head.
20:30
SPEAKER_05: You know what?
20:31
SPEAKER_05: I think we need to throw it in there every so often, and it's like use it as a drop, yeah.
20:36
SPEAKER_03: We might have to figure out how to do that, yeah.
20:38
SPEAKER_03: The boy and like did I just hear that?
20:42
SPEAKER_03: I didn't hear like it.
20:44
SPEAKER_03: Just lay it, lay it underneath the track, you know, on a loop.
20:47
SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
20:48
SPEAKER_03: Uh-huh.
20:51
SPEAKER_00: It's a good show.
20:52
SPEAKER_03: Aside, aside from um I think he likes this show.
20:55
SPEAKER_03: I can't tell him though.
20:56
SPEAKER_03: Maybe a little bit.
20:57
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
20:59
SPEAKER_00: I'm a little sad that there's nothing else like it.
21:01
SPEAKER_00: I watch a lot of shows and I like TV, but I'm watching this and thinking like there actually isn't anything as good.
21:07
SPEAKER_00: And I like a lot of stuff, but again, it's with those performances, the writing, the arcs, the lighting, the cinematography, the scenes, and the size of the world, and the way that we were all hooked into this for six years or whatever.
21:21
SPEAKER_00: We don't really have that.
21:22
SPEAKER_00: And there's a lot of good stuff on, and it's not this level, and it was kind of making me sad.
21:26
SPEAKER_03: The closest thing that I found that gave me that that feeling was dark on Netflix.
21:34
SPEAKER_00: Oh, I haven't watched that at all.
21:36
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I think it was good, it was three seasons.
21:41
SPEAKER_03: Um, and the the first season you watch it and you're completely sucked in and you've got those lost vibes, like what the fuck is going on here?
21:49
SPEAKER_03: And then season two is a little in, season three is better, but then you're like, oh, it's all wrapped up nicely and done.
21:57
unknown: Yeah.
21:58
SPEAKER_03: And then you're kind of like, okay, wait, no, this is not like lost.
22:01
SPEAKER_03: But it was a good show.
22:03
SPEAKER_03: Have you seen Manifest?
22:06
SPEAKER_03: I I didn't get past the first season, just not because of anything, just because of me.
22:11
SPEAKER_03: I I just didn't I feel like it has the potential.
22:14
SPEAKER_05: Yes.
22:16
SPEAKER_05: Provide it comes back.
22:17
SPEAKER_05: I think I fit I think they finished season two.
22:19
SPEAKER_05: I don't know if it was just a long one season.
22:21
SPEAKER_05: My brain is shy.
22:22
SPEAKER_05: No, it's two seasons.
22:23
SPEAKER_05: It's two seasons.
22:24
SPEAKER_05: It is two full seasons.
22:25
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
22:25
SPEAKER_05: Remember everything.
22:26
SPEAKER_05: And if season two came back with such a totally different turn, you're like, oh, oh really?
22:31
SPEAKER_05: Okay.
22:31
SPEAKER_05: So I have a feeling that if they continue and have the opportunity, because shows come and go, like, the New York part of the problem, yeah.
22:38
SPEAKER_05: They don't have a chance to develop that.
22:42
SPEAKER_03: From so from what I've seen and liked, I just uh you know, it's just on my end.
22:46
SPEAKER_03: Time and and all that.
22:48
SPEAKER_05: There's so many shows to back to this to so many different shows.
22:51
SPEAKER_00: There are.
22:52
SPEAKER_05: Between the your regular network TVs, streaming services, Amazon, HBO Max, on and on and on.
23:05
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
23:05
SPEAKER_00: Um, I I like Manifest and I I thought like, oh, I got another loss finally.
23:10
SPEAKER_00: And in the beginning of season two, I realized they can't do it.
23:13
SPEAKER_00: They can't keep it up.
23:14
SPEAKER_00: The first season I was kind of hooked, and by the second season, I I just it it just fell for me.
23:19
SPEAKER_00: But there's a ton of shows like that, like at the loss ended.
23:22
SPEAKER_00: I can't remember them all, but I know one was Flash Forward.
23:25
SPEAKER_05: There's like Yeah event.
23:27
SPEAKER_05: There's a lot of shows that happened.
23:29
SPEAKER_05: Lost event, but they stopped it in one season.
23:31
SPEAKER_05: I'm like, oh my god, they had so much.
23:33
SPEAKER_00: It was so good.
23:34
SPEAKER_00: They were all trying to be lost.
23:35
SPEAKER_00: It's actually a lot of those shows are the same producers or writers or something.
23:38
SPEAKER_00: Right.
23:39
SPEAKER_00: Some of the same cast.
23:40
SPEAKER_00: Uh one of them now, oh, I just had it in my head.
23:43
SPEAKER_00: Oh, Westworld is one that a lot of people would say.
23:46
SPEAKER_00: Um, you don't know Westworld?
23:47
SPEAKER_00: I think it's on HTML.
23:48
SPEAKER_00: I watched it.
23:48
SPEAKER_02: I've heard of it, but I watched it.
23:50
SPEAKER_02: I heard it's really good.
23:51
SPEAKER_00: People love it.
23:52
SPEAKER_00: Those are the lost guys again.
23:54
SPEAKER_00: I no, it fell for me.
23:56
SPEAKER_00: Uh in season three, I was just like, okay, I'm tired.
23:58
SPEAKER_00: You guys know, you can't do it.
24:00
SPEAKER_00: Just I don't know.
24:01
SPEAKER_00: Stop.
24:02
SPEAKER_00: Just stop.
24:02
SPEAKER_00: We had it, it's over, let's move on, let's do something different.
24:04
SPEAKER_00: Stop trying to make lost.
24:06
SPEAKER_05: So are we comparing it to lost too much and not giving it a chance?
24:09
SPEAKER_05: Something to think about.
24:10
SPEAKER_00: Well, a lot of people like this stuff, so it could be me doing that, but I think if I liked it, I would like it because I I like liking things.
24:17
SPEAKER_00: I just I really do.
24:18
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
24:19
SPEAKER_00: And yeah, the first season was great, but it's hard to keep it, it's really hard to keep that momentum.
24:23
SPEAKER_00: That's what the lost writers or creators knew.
24:25
SPEAKER_00: That's why they cut it off.
24:26
SPEAKER_00: In like season two, they were like, we're doing five or six seasons, and that's it.
24:30
SPEAKER_00: We can't keep this going.
24:31
SPEAKER_00: We can't do ten seasons of this.
24:32
SPEAKER_00: What are we gonna do?
24:33
SPEAKER_05: Um it's just too much.
24:34
SPEAKER_05: Eventually, like it becomes so much going on, you're like, fuck this, I give up, I'm done.
24:40
SPEAKER_05: And as a writer, what else are you gonna do?
24:42
SPEAKER_05: Like, there's only so much room and shit you can take before you have ideas.
24:48
SPEAKER_00: Right, exactly.
24:49
SPEAKER_00: Before it gets ridiculous.
24:50
SPEAKER_00: That's the other thing.
24:51
SPEAKER_00: It's like you can keep writing stuff, but at some point it's like, and then you kind of are course correcting or changes, like, but in season one, you said this, and there's all these people on the internet that tells you you're an idiot, you know, so you just can't.
25:02
SPEAKER_00: It's hard, it's really hard.
25:03
SPEAKER_03: You know, as far as um like the cinematography aspect goes, um, Orange is the New Black was very similar.
25:12
SPEAKER_03: Um, I know I think Lost was like the first show to do the whole flashback, and and every episode kind of focuses on one person and their backstory, and you get a little bit more.
25:24
SPEAKER_03: And I don't know if you watched Orange is the New Black.
25:27
SPEAKER_00: I watch everything.
25:27
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I saw it.
25:29
SPEAKER_03: But I I found a lot of similarities in that aspect.
25:32
SPEAKER_03: Not not obviously the theme or the kind of plot.
25:36
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
25:36
SPEAKER_03: But the way it was shot, it was very reminiscent of it.
25:40
SPEAKER_03: And I I did enjoy that part.
25:41
SPEAKER_00: The flashbacks definitely are like almost identical to Lost Flashbacks.
25:46
SPEAKER_00: I mean the prison stuff was totally different, but the flashbacks could have been from Lost.
25:51
SPEAKER_03: Um without without the whole character connections, like, you know, meeting up in a bar and Anna Lucia and Christian Shepherd going to Australia and all that, you know.
26:01
SPEAKER_03: But yeah.
26:02
SPEAKER_03: That's fair.
26:03
SPEAKER_05: Not that you not that you bring it up.
26:06
SPEAKER_05: I think another reason I think that there's a like there's one big theme, a po one big theory about them all being dead, or something to that effect, is because the odds that every single survivor has not only a they actually have a tangible connection with each other of some sort.
26:25
SPEAKER_05: Like, come the hell on.
26:27
SPEAKER_05: The odds of maybe maybe I don't know you, but maybe we my cousin might have met your wife's friend.
26:36
SPEAKER_05: That shit happens, but come on, everybody has a tangible connection on that plane that survived.
26:42
SPEAKER_03: Why?
26:42
SPEAKER_05: And then that they're from the same country, they're all they're originally from all over the fucking world, and that's what drives me nuts.
26:49
SPEAKER_03: Why can't it just be fate that brought them all to this island?
26:53
SPEAKER_00: Oh, because she's a man of science like Jack.
26:57
SPEAKER_00: If all people could mention, of all people to compare.
27:00
SPEAKER_05: Just like Jack.
27:01
SPEAKER_05: That's my favorite character.
27:03
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, okay.
27:04
SPEAKER_05: Sarcasm.
27:05
SPEAKER_05: Sarcasm here.
27:06
SPEAKER_05: That's good.
27:07
SPEAKER_05: Um, okay, maybe the my battery side.
27:10
SPEAKER_05: Okay, to be fair, maybe they're not all dead, but there's something other than a random plane crash.
27:16
SPEAKER_05: I agree.
27:16
SPEAKER_05: To bring them all to the stupid fucking island and have it on the plane for all over the world.
27:21
SPEAKER_00: Stop talking.
27:24
SPEAKER_04: All right, Lisa number two.
27:27
SPEAKER_00: Although what I thought about that watching season two, and I in part I agree, like, yeah, it's no way because all of them have multiple connections to each other.
27:36
SPEAKER_00: Like, oh, I gotta stop because I don't know what has been said yet.
27:40
SPEAKER_00: Um all of them have multiple connections, but and it's weird, and that never happens.
27:45
SPEAKER_00: But what I would say too is that I play this game with people I know because I've been all over the country, people all over all over the world, and we try to say where you were at a certain time traveling, like which airport, which city, and I found that we can all find that we were passing by each other in an airport at some point, like people that have traveled a lot.
28:03
SPEAKER_00: It's like, oh yeah, I was in Kansas City in 2001.
28:05
SPEAKER_00: It's like, I was in Kansas City, like when were you at the airport?
28:08
SPEAKER_00: It's like we passed by each other by like five minutes.
28:10
SPEAKER_00: There's one person that got off an airplane that I was getting on, and I met her like seven years later in Indiana, and this is an airplane in Arizona, so it happens too.
28:19
SPEAKER_00: It's crazy.
28:20
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think she missed all of that, so now she has to she has to listen to the podcast.
28:25
SPEAKER_00: Now she has to listen.
28:27
SPEAKER_05: I mean, yeah, I my battery died.
28:29
SPEAKER_05: I would just keep my charger right next to it, so I could just plug it in.
28:33
SPEAKER_05: But apparently I didn't put it in, and it wasn't even fucking hot messed, but you forgive me.
28:37
SPEAKER_05: But I got the end of that, and that's kind of fucking cool.
28:42
SPEAKER_03: All right, and also in this show, we're watching it from a different perspective.
28:49
SPEAKER_03: So these characters, like Sawyer sitting in a diner with Kate's mom, he has absolutely no idea that that's her mom.
28:55
SPEAKER_00: We do, yeah.
28:57
SPEAKER_00: I just saw that episode, it's crazy.
28:58
SPEAKER_03: You know, Saeed and um Kelvin knew each other from the army, and Kelvin and Desmond knew each other from the hatch.
29:07
SPEAKER_03: They have absolutely no idea.
29:09
SPEAKER_03: We do.
29:11
SPEAKER_03: So, from our perspective, it's like, oh, look at this connection.
29:14
SPEAKER_03: Oh, Desmond has Libby's boat, and uh Echo saw the psychic that Claire saw, but they have absolutely no idea that this is what's happening.
29:25
SPEAKER_03: We don't have to know but my point is that you're saying how there's all these connections, it's too much and this and that.
29:33
SPEAKER_03: But if somebody was observing our lives, let's say we were being filmed, who knows what people maybe not to that extent, but who knows what you would be made aware of?
29:49
SPEAKER_03: Like how many times we've crossed paths with things that we have absolutely no idea about.
29:54
SPEAKER_03: Okay, fair enough.
29:56
SPEAKER_03: Maybe not me.
29:57
SPEAKER_03: Or maybe not now with all this quarantine, but to know each other.
30:02
SPEAKER_03: I mean, okay.
30:02
SPEAKER_03: Fair enough.
30:03
SPEAKER_00: Just out of curiosity, it might not work, but let's just do it.
30:06
SPEAKER_00: Like the two of you, we don't know each other.
30:08
SPEAKER_00: What states or cities have you been in, like, the last 20 years, spent a lot of time in, traveled to a lot, or something?
30:14
SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
30:15
SPEAKER_00: Just briefly.
30:16
SPEAKER_00: Any Lisa, you go first.
30:18
SPEAKER_00: All right.
30:18
SPEAKER_03: Um I mean, I've I've always lived in New York.
30:24
SPEAKER_03: Um, I'm in Jersey here and there.
30:28
SPEAKER_00: Um I have not been to those places in a very, very long time, so that's probably not the case.
30:33
SPEAKER_03: I've been to Wisconsin in the last 20 years.
30:36
SPEAKER_00: I have not been there, but I have a ton of friends in Wisconsin.
30:39
SPEAKER_00: Oddly.
30:40
SPEAKER_00: Ah.
30:41
SPEAKER_03: Hunts.
30:42
SPEAKER_03: What about, okay, so one night I was working and I met this guy, and he was from Wisconsin.
30:49
SPEAKER_03: And I said, Oh, that's so funny.
30:51
SPEAKER_03: I said, one of my best friends lives there, and I'm gonna go visit her.
30:55
SPEAKER_03: And he's like, Oh, you have to go to this restaurant, and it's really great.
30:59
SPEAKER_03: And I'm like, okay, so I'm telling her, and she's like, Yeah, that's where I'm gonna take you.
31:04
SPEAKER_03: But it turns out that we were gonna go there, and this guy, random stranger that I'm just making a conversation with, is telling me how his family owns that restaurant.
31:14
SPEAKER_03: Wow.
31:14
SPEAKER_05: Which restaurant was it?
31:15
SPEAKER_05: There it is.
31:16
SPEAKER_03: Um, Casablanca.
31:17
SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
31:18
SPEAKER_05: I love Casablanca.
31:19
SPEAKER_03: So I mean smaller scale, but it's still What city in Wisconsin?
31:26
SPEAKER_05: Well, I'm in Racine.
31:28
SPEAKER_03: But the restaurant is in Mil Milwaukee Rocky.
31:30
SPEAKER_00: That's what I thought I was just saying.
31:31
SPEAKER_00: I mean it's like a major city, but almost everybody I know is connected.
31:34
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
31:35
SPEAKER_03: Um, I mean, I've been Florida.
31:38
SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
31:39
SPEAKER_00: I got a lot of Florida connections.
31:41
SPEAKER_03: North Carolina.
31:43
SPEAKER_00: I've been there.
31:43
SPEAKER_00: What what uh parts of Florida?
31:46
SPEAKER_03: So my family is around Orlando.
31:50
SPEAKER_00: Yep, just left.
31:51
SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
31:52
SPEAKER_00: So anyway.
31:54
SPEAKER_03: I have family in Deltona and in Claremont.
31:58
SPEAKER_00: Drove right through Deltona like two weeks ago.
32:01
SPEAKER_03: There you go.
32:02
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
32:02
SPEAKER_00: If we dug and dug and dug, I guarantee it'll be like I was sitting at the bar with you seven years ago or something like that.
32:08
SPEAKER_00: Guarantee.
32:08
SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
32:09
SPEAKER_00: It's crazy.
32:10
SPEAKER_00: Right.
32:10
SPEAKER_00: Life's crazy.
32:11
SPEAKER_00: Anyway.
32:12
SPEAKER_03: But yeah.
32:13
SPEAKER_03: Um Yeah, it's just hard to look back at like your whole life in terms of days and minutes and everywhere that you've been, and who have you ever spoken to or been in contact with, but I can't I like to believe that if you did look, you would find the connection.
32:34
SPEAKER_03: You know, somewhere.
32:37
SPEAKER_00: I actually have an example.
32:39
SPEAKER_00: Sorry, I th I haven't told anybody this story.
32:40
SPEAKER_00: It's not that deep, but it's interesting.
32:42
SPEAKER_00: Uh, when I just went to Florida recently for like a little vacation, there was a guy on the plane with a Jaguars cap on.
32:51
SPEAKER_00: Um, and I'm going to Florida, so I'm thinking Jacksonville Jaguars, and I'm trying to get his attention.
32:55
SPEAKER_00: I have family in Jacksonville, they like the Jaguars.
32:58
SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, hey, are you live in Jacksonville?
33:00
SPEAKER_00: Are you a Jaguar fan?
33:01
SPEAKER_00: And he's looking at me like I'm all weird and crazy.
33:02
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, Jaguars, Jaguars.
33:04
SPEAKER_00: And it hits me, it's like, that is the car Jaguar.
33:07
SPEAKER_00: You're like a rich white dude, and you know, whatever, blah, blah, blah.
33:11
SPEAKER_00: And he's kind of like, yeah, like you idiot.
33:13
SPEAKER_00: We were at the bar actually, and he was like, Yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever.
33:15
SPEAKER_00: And I was like, hold up.
33:16
SPEAKER_00: And I reached my pocket and pulled out.
33:18
SPEAKER_00: I used to have a Jaguar that looks exactly like the hat he's wearing.
33:20
SPEAKER_00: So I had a Jaguar years ago.
33:22
SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, that's why it looks so familiar to me, not because of the city I'm going to, but because I actually have the same emblem in my pocket.
33:29
SPEAKER_00: And so we're talking, whatever, blah, blah, blah.
33:32
SPEAKER_00: And we have more like connections because he has a lake house up here near me, and then we both have family down there, and we're going down there, and then we happen to actually get the same flight back, which isn't that crazy, except for the fact that we happen to have the exact same length of trip to the same place.
33:48
SPEAKER_00: So it's just it's crazier than you think.
33:50
SPEAKER_00: It's really interesting.
33:51
SPEAKER_00: And I saw him sitting in front of me on the plane, like, that's the dude with a Jaguar hat.
33:55
unknown: So it's crazy.
33:56
SPEAKER_05: I was in, when I was in Phoenix, I was at the mall and I was starving.
34:02
SPEAKER_05: So the lady at Soma was like, Oh, there's this place that I was telling her that I'm from New York and I can't get good new, I can't get good food anymore.
34:12
SPEAKER_05: I'm living in Wisconsin.
34:13
SPEAKER_05: She's like, Oh, there's this place.
34:15
SPEAKER_05: Can't remember the name of it.
34:16
SPEAKER_05: Chubbies?
34:17
SPEAKER_05: Chuckkies?
34:18
SPEAKER_05: Anywho, and they have good masabal soup.
34:20
SPEAKER_05: I'm like, yes! Okay.
34:22
SPEAKER_05: Chali my energy, and I was a happy girl, let me tell you.
34:26
SPEAKER_05: So I go, great food.
34:28
SPEAKER_05: I so before I left, I went back again to get a sandwich to take home with me on the plane ride.
34:33
SPEAKER_05: And I'm talking to this lady, and we're talking about food, and she's from New York, and her sister owns a restaurant here in Wisconsin, and we both meet up in fucking Phoenix.
34:45
SPEAKER_05: So I was like, all right.
34:47
SPEAKER_05: I kind of forgot about that story until there it is.
34:50
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
34:52
SPEAKER_05: Okay.
34:53
SPEAKER_05: Okay.
34:54
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and you shut me up.
34:57
SPEAKER_05: That's funny.
34:58
SPEAKER_05: Yes, I like y'all.
35:01
SPEAKER_05: I hope we don't get that often.
35:02
SPEAKER_05: Thank you.
35:03
SPEAKER_05: Also, I think we should just do a separate podcast of our shenanigans just for fun.
35:08
SPEAKER_05: I think it'll leave you less editing.
35:10
SPEAKER_03: I think we just had a whole nother venue to the stuff that I we cannot talk about is the stuff that we should put on Patreon exclusively.
35:22
SPEAKER_00: Like the deep future stuff.
35:24
SPEAKER_00: Like that that stuff?
35:26
SPEAKER_03: Like the what we talk about, like oh really?
35:29
SPEAKER_00: Oh, you get you want to get dirty with it.
35:33
SPEAKER_03: That was a nice way to put it.
35:34
SPEAKER_03: The offensive shit.
35:36
SPEAKER_05: Sorry, I got really We offend, like, listen, we offend the left, the right, the middle, the virgin.
35:44
SPEAKER_05: We offend everybody.
35:46
SPEAKER_00: That's cool because I can't tell like how you lean because I was watching the show through the eyes of like super liberal black guy, and I have all kinds of thoughts that I didn't have 15 years ago.
35:55
SPEAKER_00: And I was wondering, like, I can't say any of this stuff though.
35:58
SPEAKER_00: I don't know how they feel.
35:59
SPEAKER_05: You can say whatever you want.
36:00
SPEAKER_05: You can say whatever you want.
36:01
SPEAKER_05: I mean, we do talk about it.
36:02
SPEAKER_00: You'll talk about me later.
36:04
SPEAKER_05: No talk in your face.
36:06
SPEAKER_03: That makes it so much fun.
36:08
SPEAKER_01: I appreciate it.
36:09
SPEAKER_03: I mean, in terms of politics, like I could give you my stance, but I mean Don't start because she went through one episode.
36:21
SPEAKER_05: I forgot which episode it was.
36:22
SPEAKER_05: And I swear to God, she went like she'd shadow her inner inner Angela Davis.
36:27
SPEAKER_05: She was like Shaves, all in one.
36:30
SPEAKER_05: And I was like, Wow.
36:33
unknown: Okay.
36:34
SPEAKER_03: I'm not allowed.
36:34
SPEAKER_03: I'm not allowed to talk about politics.
36:36
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, don't do it.
36:37
SPEAKER_00: Because per personally, Trump 2020.
36:39
SPEAKER_00: That's what I'm saying, right?
36:40
SPEAKER_00: Holler at me.
36:45
SPEAKER_03: I'm just gonna jump.
36:48
SPEAKER_00: No, no, I'm joking.
36:49
SPEAKER_03: I will never say that.
36:51
SPEAKER_00: I mean, I can't still be you, but right now I'm gonna pull it back because this is what was happening with me.
36:57
SPEAKER_00: I actually do not have a problem with this.
36:59
SPEAKER_00: I actually don't have I have zero problems with this, but I don't remember noticing how much racial humor is in this show that would be considered maybe totally inappropriate and might not fly today.
37:12
SPEAKER_00: And I I totally get it.
37:13
SPEAKER_00: Like a lot of it's Sawyer, and that's his character, and I'm a Sawyer fan, but I don't remember 15 years ago going, oh, whoo, wait a minute, hold up.
37:22
SPEAKER_00: And that's how I was watching the season.
37:24
SPEAKER_00: And it didn't bother me, and I thought it was funny, but it also was like, I don't think that that would play today.
37:29
SPEAKER_03: Did you have like you're like, did you just did they just but I have another take on it, and and my obviously uh my perspective might be skewed, but I feel like when it comes to this show, they really, really tried to push boundaries.
37:49
SPEAKER_03: I mean, this was a few years after 9-11, and Saeed is the main character.
37:55
SPEAKER_03: And so that alone was a very big deal.
38:01
SPEAKER_03: And I I want to believe, maybe maybe this is not what they were doing, but but I want to believe that every time that Sawyer gives one of his nicknames and it's insensitive, that listen, this is the reality for many people and how they believe, but also to to kind of like put it in our faces, like you can't escape it.
38:26
SPEAKER_03: And you can you can choose to take it how you want it, but you can't escape it, because this is this is what goes on.
38:36
SPEAKER_03: So you have this character who by all else accounts, you might be like, oh, he's kinda likable.
38:41
SPEAKER_03: I mean, he's this and he's that, or I absolutely hate him, but this is how he thinks, this is how he behaves, and so what do you do with that?
38:50
SPEAKER_03: And I feel like almost Sawyer is kind of like how everybody has like that uncle at the Thanksgiving table that you just never know what's gonna fly out of their mouth, and you're like, shit, you know, I can't fuck.
39:07
SPEAKER_03: Like, what do you even do?
39:09
SPEAKER_00: I'm a fan.
39:10
SPEAKER_00: I'm definitely a fan.
39:11
SPEAKER_03: I love Sawyer.
39:12
SPEAKER_03: I for all his faults, I love Sawyer, I love his character, I love how he grows throughout the show.
39:18
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I was trying not to spoil something, but uh yeah.
39:21
SPEAKER_05: But he's already, I mean, he's already grown, right?
39:24
SPEAKER_05: He's grown since then.
39:26
SPEAKER_05: But I don't I don't know if I've I think I pre- I don't know if I've said it actually on air because I don't listen to the episodes.
39:32
SPEAKER_05: Um sorry, Lisa.
39:34
SPEAKER_05: Um but I feel like Jack should never have been the de facto leader.
39:41
SPEAKER_05: He doesn't have a skill set.
39:43
SPEAKER_05: Thank you.
39:45
SPEAKER_05: Um Saeed would have been that first one that I would have been seeing.
39:51
SPEAKER_05: And I feel like because I think it happened so soon after 9-11, um I think that's probably one of the reasons it was he was intentionally not the de facto leader.
40:03
SPEAKER_05: Because I think it would be just too soon.
40:05
SPEAKER_03: I mean, even in like the f the first or the second episode, they're already shouting that he's like a terrorist and that they put on the handcuffs, they must be his.
40:13
SPEAKER_03: So that that phobia is already there and is brought to light.
40:19
SPEAKER_05: It's you know, and it we and it's still an issue to this day.
40:24
SPEAKER_05: And the thing with TV and showing these uh stereotypes and these microaggressions that people cover deal with and all these other things, you can't just not show it.
40:37
SPEAKER_05: You can't not just air it because it might offend somebody.
40:41
SPEAKER_05: But the key is to air it with some education along with it.
40:47
SPEAKER_05: And I love the blackish does a really good job with hitting those, I don't watch it all the time, but they hit all those key things and they still hit it, like they don't take it out, you don't ex you don't erase it, but you still hit it and you show the repercussions of such actions.
41:02
SPEAKER_05: And I think everyone can and other shows I can't think of it, have been able to do it.
41:07
SPEAKER_05: Like, I can't think.
41:08
SPEAKER_05: I'm not I'm not I'm not drunk enough to think.
41:11
SPEAKER_03: It's my bottle, I don't care.
41:12
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I'm sorry.
41:13
SPEAKER_00: I'm loving that Lisa's bottle is it's it's bigger than she is, and then she just licked the like the rim of the bottle.
41:21
SPEAKER_00: I don't even know why she did that.
41:22
SPEAKER_00: Like, oh, this is a big thing.
41:23
SPEAKER_05: When you pour it, right?
41:24
SPEAKER_05: When you pour it, you can't drink like I've done that on plenty of Zoom parties.
41:28
SPEAKER_05: It drips.
41:30
SPEAKER_00: I select it.
41:31
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, make sure it doesn't drip.
41:32
SPEAKER_05: You gotta live.
41:33
SPEAKER_05: We're drinking in bed, so we gotta be we gotta be responsible and drink the table.
41:37
SPEAKER_00: I'm at a table, it's fine.
41:38
SPEAKER_00: I got it.
41:39
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you know, we gotta like oh still drip at the table.
41:42
SPEAKER_03: You gotta clean it up.
41:44
SPEAKER_03: That's a waste of a drop.
41:45
SPEAKER_00: I don't know if Agnes can tell I was looking at her.
41:48
SPEAKER_00: No, I can tell me later.
41:49
SPEAKER_00: Oh, somebody gotta oh man.
41:52
SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna make so much good stuff out of this.
41:55
SPEAKER_04: I can see the ma'ams and the gifts all and the gifts.
41:58
SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
41:58
SPEAKER_04: So excited, can't wait to see this.
42:01
SPEAKER_04: Oh my god.
42:02
SPEAKER_03: Okay, but going back to Sawyer and his microaggressions, I also love the fact that nobody on that damn island takes him personally.
42:11
SPEAKER_03: They all just was like, they roll their eyes and they just keep it moving.
42:15
SPEAKER_00: Like to be fair, in this show, I totally get it because on that island, they definitely have bigger fish to fry.
42:22
SPEAKER_00: If this would have in the world and like he was my neighbor, we'd fight.
42:26
SPEAKER_00: But on an island where we're dying and we need each other to live, I wouldn't even not even uh like race would almost disappear at some point, especially once you know you're not going back to the real world.
42:36
SPEAKER_00: Why does any of that matter?
42:37
SPEAKER_00: On this island.
42:39
SPEAKER_05: Because it sh cause on that island, it actually shows we are all the same.
42:42
SPEAKER_05: We were all in the same position, we're all the same.
42:45
SPEAKER_05: Like, and if you do, get over yourself.
42:48
SPEAKER_05: That's how the situation is.
42:50
SPEAKER_05: I fucking love it.
42:51
SPEAKER_05: See, Lisa, I've been trying to get you on like maybe like two, three times a season.
42:57
SPEAKER_03: Can we can we can we?
42:59
SPEAKER_03: No, I know.
43:00
SPEAKER_03: It's like every other episode.
43:02
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you're not gonna be.
43:06
SPEAKER_03: She tells me that we should have you on for an episode, like every other episode.
43:10
SPEAKER_05: Well, not every other because he has actual life.
43:13
SPEAKER_03: No, this is what you tell me, not to have a lot of people.
43:16
SPEAKER_03: I tell you every other episode you're like reminding me.
43:20
SPEAKER_00: I thought you had, which I didn't see, but I assumed that there would be like a lot of me's on the podcast.
43:25
SPEAKER_00: So I thought you probably were all booked up with like these lost fanatics.
43:29
SPEAKER_05: No, not really.
43:31
SPEAKER_00: Alright.
43:32
SPEAKER_05: Well then I but no no one else likes us much.
43:36
SPEAKER_00: I mean, you seem to have fans because I follow you on Instagram and people like your stuff, and you post cool stuff.
43:42
SPEAKER_00: And I'm on Instagram and I get like three likes, and I see you getting like 30.
43:46
SPEAKER_00: So you're doing something right.
43:48
SPEAKER_05: I gotta say the last post had like a hundred something likes.
43:51
SPEAKER_05: Really?
43:52
SPEAKER_05: Fucking awesome, Lisa.
43:53
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, honestly, I didn't even notice like my life is kinda hecky right now.
43:58
SPEAKER_05: I don't have a life.
44:00
SPEAKER_03: Well, whatever you want to call it.
44:02
SPEAKER_03: I have responsibilities.
44:08
SPEAKER_05: So disappointed in you.
44:09
SPEAKER_03: I know.
44:10
SPEAKER_03: But um Yeah, Alex is downstairs attacking right now.
44:15
SPEAKER_03: Moving potentially, so we're trying to sort through everything belonging that we have
44:25
SPEAKER_00: To a different state or just a different house?
44:28
SPEAKER_03: Possibly a different state.
44:30
SPEAKER_03: But not far, like Jersey.
44:32
SPEAKER_00: Oh.
44:33
SPEAKER_00: That doesn't count.
44:34
SPEAKER_00: Same shit.
44:34
SPEAKER_00: If you're in New York, not at all, yeah.
44:36
SPEAKER_03: It's like a borough.
44:37
SPEAKER_03: It's like a same shit.
44:39
SPEAKER_03: But um but anyway.
44:42
SPEAKER_03: Um I wanted to ask you, Jamar, about as far as the new characters that we're introduced to in season two.
44:51
SPEAKER_03: Do you have a favorite?
44:52
SPEAKER_03: Just season two.
44:54
SPEAKER_00: Right.
44:56
SPEAKER_03: Desmond, Henry, the Taylor's, and then also like the others, like uh Zeke, because Agnes wouldn't let me tell her his real name, so I mean, if we know it.
45:09
SPEAKER_03: If we know it, right.
45:10
SPEAKER_05: I mean, I'm not gonna get mad.
45:12
SPEAKER_00: Right, right, right.
45:13
SPEAKER_00: Mr.
45:14
SPEAKER_00: Freddy.
45:15
SPEAKER_00: I've talked to a lot of people about this show, and also um a lot of my friends have re-watched it and watched it recently, and almost everybody seems to really like Libby.
45:25
SPEAKER_00: People love she's so sweet.
45:27
SPEAKER_00: I guess that's why, yeah, yeah, yeah.
45:29
SPEAKER_00: And um, I never really I mean, I still get it.
45:32
SPEAKER_00: She's sweet, she's cute, she likes Hurley, so all of and we like Hurley, so that's cool.
45:37
SPEAKER_00: But um, if I have to have a favorite among the quote unquote new people, it well, it could be Henry Gale.
45:46
SPEAKER_00: Because I mean, I think he just played whatever he's got going on, he really spun that.
45:50
SPEAKER_00: He played it.
45:51
SPEAKER_00: You didn't know what I mean.
45:52
SPEAKER_00: We all knew there was something more.
45:54
SPEAKER_00: Like, this guy's not who he says.
45:56
SPEAKER_00: He's probably more, but he's kind of like this chubby, nerdy guy, too.
45:59
SPEAKER_00: So you're like, what could he possibly do?
46:01
SPEAKER_00: Um, so he probably is up there, but I've always been a big Zeke guy, too, from you know the end of season one and light him up.
46:10
SPEAKER_05: Uh say it, just say it.
46:15
SPEAKER_05: That's funny.
46:16
SPEAKER_00: We're gonna have to take the boy.
46:20
SPEAKER_05: I've been waiting all season for this.
46:23
SPEAKER_00: The boy.
46:26
SPEAKER_00: They replay it so much in the episodes, I love it.
46:30
SPEAKER_00: But yeah, yeah, that might be my guy.
46:32
SPEAKER_00: Although Henry Gill in this season, of course, I know so much about the future of all these characters.
46:38
SPEAKER_00: Uh, but it's one of those two guys for me for sure.
46:42
SPEAKER_03: How do you feel about Ana Lucia?
46:46
SPEAKER_00: Interesting.
46:47
SPEAKER_00: Uh, is that Michelle Rodriguez?
46:49
SPEAKER_00: That's her name, right?
46:50
SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
46:51
SPEAKER_00: Um, when I was younger, I was a huge fan of hers, but probably because I think she's really hot, at least then I did.
46:57
SPEAKER_00: And that's definitely my type.
46:59
SPEAKER_00: So, and I I don't know her sexual orientation, like if she's bi or gay or whatever she is in real life.
47:05
SPEAKER_00: Um, but I do have a type, and it's usually gay women, that happens a lot to me, where I'm like, hey, how you doing?
47:10
SPEAKER_00: It's like, uh, I like girls, dude.
47:12
SPEAKER_00: Can't you tell?
47:13
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, huh?
47:14
SPEAKER_00: That happens to me a lot.
47:15
SPEAKER_00: It's a big joke with my friends or whatever.
47:17
SPEAKER_00: Um, and so I used to be in love with her.
47:19
SPEAKER_00: So as soon as I saw her on the show, it's like, I'm in, I love her.
47:23
SPEAKER_00: Watching it this time for the 800th time, hated her character, hated everything about her, like every word she spoke, her whole attitude, all of her issues with you know, cops and how she handles things, her aggressiveness, um, her unwillingness to like work with people.
47:38
SPEAKER_00: I just I could have fought her, but I loved her until now.
47:44
SPEAKER_00: Like, first time I watched it, I was like, there's my baby.
47:46
SPEAKER_00: Y'all better listen to her.
47:48
SPEAKER_00: And now, and now I want to like buckle up.
47:52
SPEAKER_00: So, yeah, this season I didn't like it.
47:54
SPEAKER_00: I just finished the episode where they were um, they're going to get the guns because uh Sun was taken and you know, all that stuff.
48:02
SPEAKER_00: And you know, that was all Anna Lucia basically, or whatever.
48:04
SPEAKER_00: And it's just kind of like, uh, this woman, and yeah, I don't know.
48:08
SPEAKER_00: And I just feel like going forward, but yeah, I'm not a fan, not a fan anymore.
48:13
SPEAKER_03: After, I think it was like the episode after that, that she starts like that.
48:17
SPEAKER_03: I start warming up to her where I'm like, okay, she settled down a little bit.
48:22
SPEAKER_03: Because from like the season one finale up until like most of season two, I'm like, this bitch.
48:31
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, right.
48:32
SPEAKER_03: She's like, I don't know, why do you hate her so much?
48:34
SPEAKER_03: I'm like, I don't know.
48:35
SPEAKER_00: I see Agnes must be a big fan.
48:37
SPEAKER_00: Is that your cousin in real life?
48:39
SPEAKER_05: I think okay, so I have a total girl crush on her.
48:42
SPEAKER_05: Uh characters, she's always played a badass.
48:45
SPEAKER_05: I like the case.
48:45
SPEAKER_05: Same person, everything.
48:46
SPEAKER_05: Yep, she really does.
48:48
SPEAKER_05: And I'm like, yay.
48:49
SPEAKER_03: Um, now I got none against Michelle Rodriguez.
48:53
SPEAKER_03: Michelle Rodriguez is phenomenal.
48:55
SPEAKER_03: She's and she's and she can get it.
48:57
SPEAKER_03: There's some people that can give me swimming lady.
49:00
SPEAKER_05: There's some people that give me swim the lady pond.
49:03
SPEAKER_05: She's one of them.
49:04
SPEAKER_05: Um, I'm like, oh, okay.
49:06
SPEAKER_00: Um I like that, by the way.
49:10
SPEAKER_05: This particular character, I think for me, considering me watching this, considering the political climate we're currently in now, I had to really take a step back.
49:25
SPEAKER_05: With the whole cops and the shooting and the police police brutality, I had to consciously like take a step back and watching her, and I kind of watched her as a woman.
49:37
SPEAKER_05: Not so much as a police officer.
49:39
SPEAKER_05: And I think I I think I was forgiving of her because of all of that.
49:43
SPEAKER_05: Like um on the show, they had no mention to her ability as a cop before she was shot.
49:51
SPEAKER_05: That's one.
49:51
SPEAKER_05: So let's assume she was a great cop.
49:54
SPEAKER_05: Like, okay, so you have a PST PTSD.
49:57
SPEAKER_05: You have you lost a child, and you lost your fiance or your baby, like that the relationship ended.
50:06
SPEAKER_05: Compound that until you went back to work too soon.
50:10
SPEAKER_05: And then your boss was your mother, and she wasn't acting like your boss.
50:13
SPEAKER_05: She was acting like your mother, and I think it led to a perfect storm.
50:17
SPEAKER_05: Right.
50:18
SPEAKER_05: So her behavior, I can't while you can't really say you can't say oh it's okay because you understand, like, damn, this bitch went through a lot.
50:29
SPEAKER_03: I really hate when you're rational.
50:34
SPEAKER_00: No, I agree with all this.
50:35
SPEAKER_00: I definitely do.
50:36
SPEAKER_05: So I I think I I think I think that was a lot of reasons I really didn't particularly, she didn't drive me crazy because I'm assuming the plane accident kind of happened relatively soon after she lost the job and after all this shit happened.
50:49
SPEAKER_05: So she's really still going through PTSD issues and all this other and the Shannon issue was that oh fuck.
50:57
SPEAKER_03: I think once she came to terms with that and her and Said made peace, I think that's when she was her healing.
51:06
SPEAKER_03: Right.
51:07
SPEAKER_03: When when I started to be more okay with her, like she didn't bother me as much.
51:12
SPEAKER_05: So she I think it was one that I think it was the Anna Lucia episode when she went all Angela Davis on me.
51:18
SPEAKER_05: We're talking about everything like I think for a one hour sh one hour episode, I think it was maybe three hours we were recording.
51:26
SPEAKER_05: That's because I was like, I had to edit a lot.
51:28
SPEAKER_05: She had a lot of edits.
51:29
SPEAKER_05: I was like, okay.
51:32
SPEAKER_05: I'm sorry.
51:33
SPEAKER_05: Okay.
51:33
SPEAKER_05: And not that I'm I am so not indifferent.
51:36
SPEAKER_05: Like, I am one of those, like, ah, upset.
51:39
SPEAKER_05: If I could walk, I'd be protesting.
51:42
SPEAKER_05: But she had me all like I felt like the white chick at boyfriend's cook at with his family.
51:52
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
51:53
SPEAKER_00: That's very interesting.
51:55
SPEAKER_00: I gotta listen to that episode.
51:56
SPEAKER_00: I gotta listen to that.
51:57
SPEAKER_00: Is that on Patreon?
51:58
SPEAKER_02: Is that on it on Patreon?
52:00
SPEAKER_00: It definitely is.
52:01
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
52:02
SPEAKER_00: But I I don't think I gotta find a dollar.
52:06
SPEAKER_03: I think I think most of the mo like most of the worst stuff was cut out, but I think some of it might still be in there.
52:17
SPEAKER_05: Damn it.
52:17
SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
52:20
SPEAKER_03: And then I might have to just find the the file and send it.
52:23
SPEAKER_05: Like, because you're gonna have a fill day with it.
52:25
SPEAKER_00: Like, I like it.
52:27
SPEAKER_00: I don't know what's going on, but I oh man, I would love to hear this.
52:30
SPEAKER_03: It's like she had be scared.
52:33
SPEAKER_03: You know, let me tell you something else.
52:35
SPEAKER_03: What what what gets me also is that you look at me, and this shit happened to me last night too, by a cop.
52:44
SPEAKER_03: Mmm, and you look at me and you want to start talking shit, and you look at me and you're like, oh, that's a white girl, I can talk in front of her.
52:53
SPEAKER_00: People think that.
52:54
SPEAKER_00: That's interesting.
52:55
SPEAKER_00: And I believe you.
52:58
SPEAKER_00: I believe you.
52:59
SPEAKER_03: Yes, and so I hear a lot more than I probably should.
53:04
SPEAKER_00: I got you.
53:05
SPEAKER_03: And it infuriates me.
53:08
SPEAKER_03: I totally get you because then when I speak out, then people are like, you're not black, like you don't get it, like, or you don't know, or you It's like I know right from wrong.
53:22
SPEAKER_03: I know what feels bad, and I know like I can't, okay, I can't.
53:31
SPEAKER_03: That's what I'm hearing about.
53:32
SPEAKER_05: Like, I think like I get tired of the fake woke people talking about, oh, they're never having our back.
53:39
SPEAKER_05: Why we need white people, like, oh, you have you lost your fucking mind?
53:42
SPEAKER_05: Whatever, whatever race, socioeconomic situation, sexual orientation, whoever, if they're with us, they're with us.
53:52
SPEAKER_05: Period.
53:52
SPEAKER_05: Stop with the fake woke shit and get and be be realistic about your life.
53:56
SPEAKER_05: And that's that age shit that I cannot stand.
53:59
SPEAKER_05: I'm like, really?
54:01
SPEAKER_05: I'm on a page, I think I don't know why I'm on the fucking page.
54:06
SPEAKER_05: And and it was about Native Americans helping the black people and this and what we're going through right now.
54:14
SPEAKER_05: And they never liked us in the white.
54:16
SPEAKER_05: I'm like, are you that ignorant?
54:18
SPEAKER_05: This is you are one of the examples of why we're still being treated this way.
54:22
SPEAKER_05: Um, times how many of you are there.
54:25
SPEAKER_05: Like, what part of any marginalized group I'm gonna stand up for what's right, period.
54:34
SPEAKER_05: Whether you're gonna be with me in my fight, that doesn't just take what I'm gonna do with you in your fight.
54:40
SPEAKER_05: And I think if every felt that way, we wouldn't be in this position right now.
54:45
SPEAKER_05: Like, you know, you can hate me because I'm black, but I'm still gonna I'm still gonna have your back because I I don't know, Native Americans.
54:55
SPEAKER_00: You're a woman or you have a leader or whatever.
54:58
SPEAKER_05: Native American women are still being murdered, and no one gives a fuck.
55:02
SPEAKER_05: I'm still gonna support you in that.
55:04
SPEAKER_05: Whether you give a fuck about me, I don't care.
55:06
SPEAKER_05: I've still got your back.
55:07
SPEAKER_05: Right.
55:07
SPEAKER_05: And I think I think we need more of that because we're not gonna fight, we're not gonna win against any oppression if we divide ourselves, and that goes against our own race.
55:17
SPEAKER_05: But you know, back to lost.
55:20
SPEAKER_00: Yep.
55:21
SPEAKER_00: You guys just lost all of your viewers, it's over now.
55:24
SPEAKER_00: I know, might as well cancel the show.
55:26
SPEAKER_05: I know, right?
55:27
SPEAKER_05: We have a brain, holy shit! Like, we don't want to hear this shit.
55:31
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, okay, more alcohol, and that's that's just like a small percentage of what happened on that other episode, dude.
55:39
SPEAKER_00: Oh it was bad.
55:41
SPEAKER_00: Interesting, yeah.
55:42
SPEAKER_00: I gotta check that out.
55:44
SPEAKER_00: I really might have to find a dollar.
55:46
SPEAKER_00: Um that's worthwhile to me.
55:49
SPEAKER_00: I like that.
55:51
SPEAKER_05: I'm actually trying to go through my notes from the beginning of the season to make sure I'm up to date with anything you have to say.
55:57
SPEAKER_05: Because, you know, I forget it.
55:58
SPEAKER_05: Once we record, it goes out the window.
56:01
SPEAKER_03: Who's Jamal?
56:02
SPEAKER_03: Who's your least favorite character?
56:04
SPEAKER_00: Like Piri?
56:06
SPEAKER_00: Uh yes.
56:06
SPEAKER_05: Uh that we were introduced to No, in season like, give me season four characters.
56:11
unknown: No.
56:13
SPEAKER_00: Well, actually, no, I won't do that.
56:15
SPEAKER_00: But there is somebody in season four.
56:17
SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of people in season four, actually.
56:20
SPEAKER_00: The whole new world.
56:21
SPEAKER_00: Oh, but no, they can't be the whole new world.
56:23
SPEAKER_00: Whoops.
56:23
SPEAKER_03: And I didn't even mean yeah, and I didn't even mention um Charles Whidmore and we meet Penny briefly.
56:33
SPEAKER_00: I haven't seen it, so I didn't know that.
56:34
SPEAKER_00: I was gonna say something.
56:35
SPEAKER_00: I didn't know that it happened.
56:36
SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
56:37
SPEAKER_03: At the end, at the end, the season finale is a Desmond flashback.
56:41
SPEAKER_00: Oh, because I was trying not to say that thing.
56:44
SPEAKER_03: We meet Charles Whidmore and we meet Penny.
56:46
SPEAKER_00: But I mean, it's not like those characters matter much, so translation they do.
56:51
SPEAKER_04: Okay, got it.
56:52
SPEAKER_04: Mental note.
56:53
SPEAKER_04: You're bad at this.
56:55
SPEAKER_03: Or is that what he wants you to face?
56:57
SPEAKER_00: It's too much fun for me.
57:00
SPEAKER_03: He's already got you pegged, so forget it.
57:03
SPEAKER_03: Like, he knows.
57:05
SPEAKER_03: He knows what he's doing.
57:06
SPEAKER_00: I gotta, I gotta just skip ahead and watch this show.
57:08
SPEAKER_00: You definitely gotta have me on for season four, for sure.
57:11
SPEAKER_05: Absolutely, absolutely.
57:12
SPEAKER_03: You're gonna have to have you on every episode.
57:14
SPEAKER_00: Sure.
57:15
SPEAKER_05: I've already fired me and hired you, so yes.
57:18
SPEAKER_05: You're good.
57:19
SPEAKER_05: You're good.
57:20
SPEAKER_00: You're not gonna make it a season four.
57:22
SPEAKER_00: Um I told you on the last episode, sorry, I know I have a question to answer, but um No, no, no, no, please.
57:28
SPEAKER_00: Uh, that uh I did not like season three.
57:31
SPEAKER_00: I'm sure it's for some people that to me is the worst season, probably.
57:35
SPEAKER_03: There are some episodes that I'm like, what the fuck?
57:38
SPEAKER_03: Why'd you waste your time?
57:39
SPEAKER_03: And there are some episodes that are good.
57:41
SPEAKER_00: For sure, there's gotta be.
57:42
SPEAKER_00: There's gotta be some episodes that are like some of the best ever.
57:45
SPEAKER_00: But then there are some where it's like, is this episode three hours long?
57:48
SPEAKER_00: Like, what's going on?
57:49
SPEAKER_00: Right.
57:50
SPEAKER_03: I can think of one like that right off the bat.
57:54
SPEAKER_03: Is it a Jack episode?
57:56
SPEAKER_00: Oh, well, there's definitely a Jack episode.
57:58
SPEAKER_00: So I'll say there's a Jack episode, and then there's like Kate Sawyer.
58:03
SPEAKER_00: Uh the three of them take up a significant You know what I'm talking about.
58:08
SPEAKER_00: It's a significant portion of that season that's just like anyway.
58:13
SPEAKER_03: Uh back to the Yeah, I could think of one Kate episode from that season that I'm like, what the fuck?
58:17
SPEAKER_03: Why we waste our time and a Sawyer episode that we're like, what the fuck?
58:22
SPEAKER_03: And for a Sawyer episode to be there.
58:25
SPEAKER_03: And she likes Kate episodes.
58:28
SPEAKER_05: And I'm not with this show, period.
58:31
SPEAKER_05: You guys like now I'm like, I'm gonna have to drink a lot watching the show.
58:36
SPEAKER_05: Never mind recording it.
58:37
SPEAKER_05: I'm gonna have to drink.
58:38
SPEAKER_05: Well, you should do that.
58:39
SPEAKER_00: It's cute though.
58:40
SPEAKER_00: I mean, they do answer questions in season three.
58:42
SPEAKER_00: No, season three does answer questions.
58:44
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
58:44
SPEAKER_05: No, it does progresses the story.
58:46
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it answers some questions, but leaves me 600 more.
58:50
SPEAKER_00: Of course.
58:51
SPEAKER_00: Kinda, yeah.
58:52
SPEAKER_00: But like you're gonna see things like, oh, wow.
58:55
SPEAKER_00: It's gonna be a lot of that.
58:56
SPEAKER_00: It's gonna be a lot of that.
58:58
SPEAKER_03: Yes.
58:58
SPEAKER_03: And we get a few new characters, good characters.
59:02
SPEAKER_00: Good characters, yeah.
59:03
SPEAKER_00: For sure.
59:03
SPEAKER_00: For sure.
59:04
SPEAKER_00: Um back to Lisa's question.
59:10
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
59:11
SPEAKER_00: Uh, so it was the least favorite, maybe from season two.
59:14
SPEAKER_03: If you have one.
59:16
SPEAKER_00: And this is me watching again, because if I go back, I mean, Jack is the least favorite.
59:21
SPEAKER_00: He's a terrible person, like terrible character.
59:24
SPEAKER_00: I said that last time.
59:25
SPEAKER_00: I started watching again like a couple days ago.
59:28
SPEAKER_00: I think I started watching on Friday, and I was just like, I forget how awful Jack is.
59:33
SPEAKER_00: Like in every way.
59:35
SPEAKER_00: Like, he's really, really bad.
59:36
SPEAKER_00: And to get to kind of this racial, political, social, whatever it is going on right now, like, even though Sawyer is the one that's like making black jokes, Jack to me is the epitome of like why I have problems with white dudes.
59:49
SPEAKER_00: He is like the whitest dude in the world.
59:52
SPEAKER_00: Like, he's a doctor and he thinks he's always right, and he thinks he's a leader, but he's terrible at it.
59:57
SPEAKER_00: He's bad at everything, he's bad in relationships.
1:00:00
SPEAKER_00: He's just so awful.
1:00:02
SPEAKER_00: And and women think he's really good looking.
1:00:04
SPEAKER_00: He's not good looking.
1:00:06
SPEAKER_00: He's not in good shape.
1:00:08
SPEAKER_00: He's not a good doctor.
1:00:10
SPEAKER_00: Okay, I'm gonna have to say that Jack's still the least favorite.
1:00:13
SPEAKER_00: I don't think he's a bad doctor.
1:00:15
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he's alright.
1:00:16
SPEAKER_00: He's alright.
1:00:16
SPEAKER_04: He's good.
1:00:17
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, his skill set is good.
1:00:19
SPEAKER_00: I mean, they hit the case.
1:00:20
SPEAKER_04: I had to contradict something.
1:00:22
unknown: No, no.
1:00:23
SPEAKER_00: He didn't really have the good bedside manner, which they talked about.
1:00:26
SPEAKER_00: No, he has several bed sets.
1:00:27
SPEAKER_00: But that's part of it.
1:00:28
SPEAKER_00: And then um, I don't know.
1:00:30
SPEAKER_00: It's I there is the skill set of like this is anatomy and physiology, but then it's so much more than that.
1:00:36
SPEAKER_00: That's like the mental health and the talking to people and the he has zero of that.
1:00:40
SPEAKER_00: None of it.
1:00:41
SPEAKER_00: Like, like he's never talked to a person before.
1:00:43
SPEAKER_00: He's like a robot.
1:00:44
SPEAKER_05: Because that has to that has a lot to do with your healing process.
1:00:48
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, like if he didn't fall in love with his wife, should she mean have healed.
1:00:52
SPEAKER_05: Like, it's it's more it's more than just the surgery, you know, like it's a bigger picture.
1:00:58
SPEAKER_05: He's that's balls, major balls.
1:01:00
SPEAKER_05: At least he laughs at me in my hatred of him.
1:01:03
SPEAKER_05: I'm so glad you support me.
1:01:05
SPEAKER_00: He's bad.
1:01:05
SPEAKER_00: He's awful.
1:01:06
SPEAKER_03: You think it's funny?
1:01:08
SPEAKER_03: Sawyer is like a full opportunity offender.
1:01:11
SPEAKER_03: But I love it, but he's like one of the the feminists on the island.
1:01:16
SPEAKER_03: Because he's like, anybody who wants to do anything, you could do it.
1:01:19
SPEAKER_03: But I'm gonna hate each one of y'all individually and that's fair.
1:01:21
SPEAKER_03: I get that.
1:01:22
SPEAKER_03: And I'm like, cool, I could I could get behind it.
1:01:26
SPEAKER_05: And for all his comments, he recognizes Kate's abilities over these other people.
1:01:33
SPEAKER_05: He re Said, he's like, um, we're going to war.
1:01:36
SPEAKER_05: Get the fucking soldier.
1:01:38
SPEAKER_03: Like, right, he's re He was the first one to throw Saeed under the bus about being brown.
1:01:45
SPEAKER_03: But when he played season two finale, he's like, We're going to war.
1:01:49
SPEAKER_03: Don't you want the one who's actually been there?
1:01:51
SPEAKER_03: He's coming.
1:01:52
SPEAKER_05: Like, I respect the person that says what they're gonna say, but at least acknowledge my skill set and my like like you're a fucking bitch, but you got this down pat.
1:02:02
SPEAKER_05: Like, I respect that, because I am a bitch.
1:02:04
SPEAKER_05: But like you have to respect him for that.
1:02:07
SPEAKER_00: I do, you know.
1:02:08
SPEAKER_00: Sorry, he like you said, he's like the main one that's going to bat for Kate all the time.
1:02:12
SPEAKER_00: Like, all the time.
1:02:13
SPEAKER_00: Like every other episode, he's like, Are you serious?
1:02:15
SPEAKER_00: Like, Kate's the baddest motherfucker on the island.
1:02:17
SPEAKER_00: Like, are you serious?
1:02:18
SPEAKER_00: And Jack's always like, no, Kate, you're a woman, and I think you're attractive.
1:02:22
SPEAKER_00: So you stay here and wash the dishes.
1:02:24
SPEAKER_00: And and I, with no skills, will go out and fight.
1:02:28
SPEAKER_00: Not to mention, how about this?
1:02:30
SPEAKER_00: He is the only doctor.
1:02:31
SPEAKER_00: Why is he always putting himself in danger?
1:02:33
SPEAKER_00: Danger.
1:02:34
SPEAKER_00: I'll carry the gun.
1:02:35
SPEAKER_00: Like, what are you talking about?
1:02:37
SPEAKER_00: Like, you go supporting the city.
1:02:39
SPEAKER_05: I was on the army, but we're not gonna talk to Kate about it at all.
1:02:42
SPEAKER_05: We're gonna ask the random dude that used to be a fucking science teacher.
1:02:47
SPEAKER_03: Like, you know, really in the season finale, you have that hurt?
1:02:54
SPEAKER_05: Wow, damn.
1:02:56
SPEAKER_05: But we have 10 minutes.
1:02:57
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, in the season finale, when they're all going up according to Michael's plan, and Michael tells him, I want these people, and Jack is just like, okay.
1:03:07
SPEAKER_03: And you got hurt.
1:03:08
SPEAKER_03: You don't question Jack and Kate.
1:03:11
SPEAKER_03: Like, okay, Sawyer and Kate, sure.
1:03:16
SPEAKER_03: Michael, Jack, Curly, what the fuck are they gonna do for you and anything?
1:03:20
SPEAKER_05: Like the fact that he even questioned it.
1:03:23
SPEAKER_05: You're like, dude, dude.
1:03:25
SPEAKER_05: Right?
1:03:26
SPEAKER_05: Dude, like, just sit in the you go sit in the office and you take in your patience and let us grown-ups take care of adult things.
1:03:34
SPEAKER_03: And Kate was, and we talked about this.
1:03:36
SPEAKER_03: Kate was the only one who even noticed when they were being followed.
1:03:40
SPEAKER_03: Soy will go to battle for you, and he's smart when it comes to reading people, but Kate has those skills when it comes to tracking and the woods and shit.
1:03:50
SPEAKER_03: Like, she's an asset for sure.
1:03:53
SPEAKER_00: Pretty badass, like big time, actually.
1:03:55
SPEAKER_00: Some people hated her and found her annoying.
1:03:58
SPEAKER_00: I still get it.
1:03:59
SPEAKER_00: She's a real person.
1:04:00
SPEAKER_03: I can see it, but yeah.
1:04:02
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
1:04:02
SPEAKER_00: Like I can see it, but she's a real person.
1:04:04
SPEAKER_00: I get it.
1:04:05
SPEAKER_00: I have a random question for Agnes, and I might have to look away or cover my face or something.
1:04:11
SPEAKER_00: I don't know if we've talked about this before.
1:04:12
SPEAKER_00: I'll try to, oh man, it's gonna be bad because I'm gonna blow the whole show for everybody.
1:04:16
SPEAKER_03: Uh oh.
1:04:17
SPEAKER_00: Especially if you're gonna be able to get away.
1:04:18
SPEAKER_03: You might want to take off your video.
1:04:20
SPEAKER_00: Maybe.
1:04:20
SPEAKER_00: But I just have a question.
1:04:22
SPEAKER_00: This is scary.
1:04:23
SPEAKER_00: If, if, if, this is a big if, if there is one person that you know on the show right now that ends up being the king of everything at the end, let's just say that happens.
1:04:33
SPEAKER_00: If that person exists, who do you think that person is?
1:04:36
SPEAKER_03: Like a soul survivor type deal?
1:04:38
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
1:04:39
SPEAKER_00: If there's one person who is the last person standing, or I don't know, is the president of the island.
1:04:46
SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
1:04:46
SPEAKER_00: If there's one person, who is that person?
1:04:51
SPEAKER_03: And it's not Dave.
1:04:55
unknown: Damn it!
1:04:58
SPEAKER_05: Wow.
1:05:01
SPEAKER_05: Wow.
1:05:02
SPEAKER_05: Let me think about this.
1:05:04
SPEAKER_05: All right.
1:05:04
SPEAKER_05: Meminate on it.
1:05:06
SPEAKER_05: And let me that's a good question.
1:05:07
SPEAKER_03: Like the man in charge, like if somebody was gonna take that spot of whoever is in charge of the island, like that?
1:05:14
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, if there was a person in charge.
1:05:16
SPEAKER_03: Interesting.
1:05:17
SPEAKER_03: Okay.
1:05:18
SPEAKER_03: Oh, like that.
1:05:20
SPEAKER_05: Let me think about that.
1:05:21
SPEAKER_05: That's a very good question.
1:05:23
SPEAKER_00: It is a very good question.
1:05:24
SPEAKER_05: Is it gonna be a is there gonna is there gonna be a man in charge or a woman?
1:05:29
SPEAKER_05: Is it gonna be a person in charge?
1:05:31
SPEAKER_00: There is gonna be a person in charge.
1:05:33
SPEAKER_00: No, I wasn't shaking.
1:05:34
SPEAKER_00: I was glad you said that.
1:05:35
SPEAKER_00: No, especially say a woman who's like no.
1:05:38
SPEAKER_05: I mean, look.
1:05:40
SPEAKER_05: Are you trying to give me him to season six?
1:05:42
unknown: All right.
1:05:44
SPEAKER_03: Okay, I'll tell you this.
1:05:44
SPEAKER_03: Stop.
1:05:45
SPEAKER_03: We talked about Henry talking about him, and it could be him, it could be some imaginary god.
1:05:52
SPEAKER_03: You don't know.
1:05:53
SPEAKER_03: But if there was somebody in charge, and it's not Henry, who would it be?
1:05:57
SPEAKER_05: Okay, is your question referring to the survivors?
1:06:02
SPEAKER_05: Like are they like in charge of the whole like in what sense?
1:06:08
SPEAKER_05: Are they in charge of the rest of the survivors and end up being like the uh the governor or someone who's actually behind or someone behind the whole process the whole show or the person behind everything?
1:06:21
SPEAKER_05: Which how's your question?
1:06:22
SPEAKER_00: Right, right, right.
1:06:23
SPEAKER_00: The answer is yes.
1:06:25
SPEAKER_05: I hate you.
1:06:28
SPEAKER_05: I hate you.
1:06:31
SPEAKER_05: Okay.
1:06:32
SPEAKER_05: Penny.
1:06:32
SPEAKER_05: No, okay.
1:06:33
SPEAKER_05: That's not my that's not my that's not my answer.
1:06:35
SPEAKER_05: Okay, let me think about that.
1:06:37
SPEAKER_05: I like that.
1:06:37
SPEAKER_05: Let's move on.
1:06:38
SPEAKER_05: I'm gonna think about that's a really good question, though.
1:06:41
SPEAKER_05: I appreciate that question.
1:06:42
SPEAKER_00: Good.
1:06:44
SPEAKER_00: Hopefully people who have seen the series appreciate that question.
1:06:53
SPEAKER_00: Sorry.
1:06:54
SPEAKER_05: Alright, so to answer your question, I would have to say just because, you know, I'm being, I don't know, I can't think of anybody.
1:07:01
SPEAKER_05: And Lisa just brought it up.
1:07:02
SPEAKER_05: Henry Gale.
1:07:03
SPEAKER_05: The the character formerly known as Henry Gale.
1:07:06
SPEAKER_05: Honestly though, when you said, when he said, um, you know, we're the good guys, I felt like I'm not gonna go into details of what I thought of the moment because that's a question that Lisa had asked me.
1:07:18
SPEAKER_05: I had just and I just answered it before she asked me the question.
1:07:21
SPEAKER_05: So I'm not repeating myself.
1:07:23
SPEAKER_05: She hasn't listened to the she hasn't lit it, listen while she edits.
1:07:26
SPEAKER_05: I haven't listened yet, sorry.
1:07:28
SPEAKER_05: So yeah.
1:07:29
SPEAKER_05: So when I say Henry Gale, you'll know why when she listened to the edits.
1:07:33
unknown: Okay.
1:07:34
SPEAKER_05: All right.
1:07:34
SPEAKER_05: Henry Gale will be the king of the world.
1:07:36
SPEAKER_05: He's gonna be on the Titanic of like, what is it?
1:07:39
SPEAKER_05: Black rock is the actual ship, right?
1:07:40
SPEAKER_05: So he'll be on the black rock.
1:07:42
SPEAKER_05: I'm the king of the world.
1:07:50
SPEAKER_00: Oh my goodness, you gotta just watch this show.
1:07:52
SPEAKER_00: You at some point it'll be worth it.
1:07:54
SPEAKER_00: You gotta watch this show.
1:07:55
SPEAKER_00: You gotta watch it.
1:07:56
SPEAKER_00: Gotta watch it.
1:07:57
SPEAKER_03: Oh god.
1:07:58
SPEAKER_03: There's one like what's the most important takeaway from season two?
1:08:06
SPEAKER_03: Like, if you could say, like, yeah.
1:08:08
SPEAKER_03: If you could say like the most important thing to to think about going forward, what would you say?
1:08:16
SPEAKER_00: That is a hard question to not be prepared to answer.
1:08:19
SPEAKER_03: Uh you want to skip it?
1:08:22
SPEAKER_03: No.
1:08:22
SPEAKER_00: No, because if I'm wrong, I'm wrong.
1:08:24
SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
1:08:25
SPEAKER_03: Um I mean, and this is like for Agnes.
1:08:28
SPEAKER_03: I mean, I've seen it.
1:08:29
SPEAKER_00: So Right, of course.
1:08:31
SPEAKER_00: You know, well, yeah, this whatever, but I think most people would think this anyway.
1:08:36
SPEAKER_00: So um, I don't even know what we call them, but to me, the most important thing to take away what was in there, and just the fact that you know there are some other people there, and these experiments and these videos, and I I think that would be the central thing to connect to going forward.
1:08:58
SPEAKER_00: Like, what is happening in there?
1:09:01
SPEAKER_00: Who are these people?
1:09:02
SPEAKER_00: What were they doing?
1:09:04
SPEAKER_00: Are they saving the world?
1:09:05
SPEAKER_00: Why are they pushing a button?
1:09:06
SPEAKER_00: All that stuff.
1:09:06
SPEAKER_00: I think that is the thing that you want to uh connect to the most going forward.
1:09:12
SPEAKER_00: If you're like a lost fanatic person, if you hate the show, I don't know.
1:09:15
SPEAKER_03: I think that's an excellent observation.
1:09:18
SPEAKER_05: I hate you both.
1:09:19
SPEAKER_05: My biggest question at the end of this at this season, um, okay, so you're like, okay, I get why they're pushing a button because the whole magnetic buildup release, whatever, fine.
1:09:30
SPEAKER_05: But my biggest question was why were they even there to begin with?
1:09:36
SPEAKER_05: Like why what was the person being on this island?
1:09:42
SPEAKER_05: Like, what was the per what did Dama have to achieve?
1:09:46
SPEAKER_05: I think that's my biggest question.
1:09:47
SPEAKER_05: Like, why?
1:09:48
SPEAKER_05: Why are we even here to begin with?
1:09:50
SPEAKER_05: Um I also had a good question for Lisa.
1:09:53
SPEAKER_05: I had another thing.
1:09:54
SPEAKER_05: Um, so if Desmond, him not getting to the thing in time cause the crash of flight, whatever it is.
1:10:05
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, flight 81 815.
1:10:09
SPEAKER_05: The incident that is mentioned in those in those orientation videos, what did that cause?
1:10:16
SPEAKER_05: And did that bring the others to the island themselves?
1:10:19
SPEAKER_05: Were they there because of the incident?
1:10:23
SPEAKER_05: So I think I that's my biggest problem with the season three.
1:10:26
SPEAKER_05: Yes, I'm loving it.
1:10:27
SPEAKER_05: I'm loving it.
1:10:29
SPEAKER_05: We're doing the same thing Lisa does.
1:10:31
SPEAKER_05: I don't know what the right way, wrong way.
1:10:34
SPEAKER_00: No, no, I love it.
1:10:35
SPEAKER_00: I love that way of thinking.
1:10:37
SPEAKER_00: You gotta watch this show.
1:10:40
SPEAKER_05: Okay, so I was looking forward to season three until you guys told me how bad it was.
1:10:45
SPEAKER_05: So Lisa, it's not bad.
1:10:47
SPEAKER_03: It's bad.
1:10:48
SPEAKER_03: She doesn't get a lot of pushback.
1:10:51
SPEAKER_03: There's a few episodes where you're just like, why?
1:10:55
SPEAKER_05: Okay, so those episodes you're gonna have to have the Jamar on because I'm like up.
1:11:00
SPEAKER_05: I'm not gonna get my bitch can play the whole episode.
1:11:03
SPEAKER_03: I'm not gonna tell you which ones they are, so right, right.
1:11:05
SPEAKER_05: And I watch it, watch it, and I'm like, Lisa, I ain't doing this one.
1:11:11
SPEAKER_00: I mean, you might love it though.
1:11:13
SPEAKER_00: You might have everybody's different, and like you might be into blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.
1:11:18
SPEAKER_03: I mean, for instance, you said citrus.
1:11:25
SPEAKER_03: For instance, fire plus water was not one of my favorite episodes, and you were fine with it.
1:11:32
SPEAKER_03: Which one was that?
1:11:32
SPEAKER_03: Like, I know this one.
1:11:33
SPEAKER_03: The Charlie episode.
1:11:35
SPEAKER_00: Oh.
1:11:35
SPEAKER_03: Which one with the the diapers and I didn't even remember that.
1:11:41
SPEAKER_00: I just watched that one too, and I was just like, I don't remember this at all.
1:11:44
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, remember that like uh his brother and they're they're recording a commercial.
1:11:50
SPEAKER_05: Oh, yeah, that commercial and all the drawing.
1:11:52
SPEAKER_05: It was okay.
1:11:53
SPEAKER_05: It gave me a lot of insight to him, and I felt and it made me respect him a little bit more.
1:11:57
SPEAKER_03: And I feel like that episode was useless.
1:12:00
SPEAKER_05: Wow.
1:12:01
SPEAKER_03: So again, I'm not gonna tell you each episode because you might glean something that I okay.
1:12:09
SPEAKER_05: So here's the deal whatever episode that might yet this this one sucks ass, get help.
1:12:20
SPEAKER_05: Like, you're gonna give me bitch and complain the whole recording.
1:12:23
SPEAKER_05: So if you want a good show, get help.
1:12:25
SPEAKER_00: But hopefully, hate the ones that I love.
1:12:28
SPEAKER_00: That would be nice.
1:12:29
SPEAKER_05: Okay, great.
1:12:29
SPEAKER_05: We'll work it out.
1:12:31
SPEAKER_05: Or we're all gonna hate it, and we're gonna have a whole episode of just us bitching about it.
1:12:36
SPEAKER_03: I feel like when I think about season three, there's one episode that bothers bothers me above all the rest, and I don't want to say the name, but it's it's a Jack episode.
1:12:48
SPEAKER_03: I know that's the one that I'm just like, oh, I'll just have to watch this.
1:12:54
SPEAKER_03: But yeah.
1:12:58
SPEAKER_03: What can I say?
1:13:01
SPEAKER_03: Anyway.
1:13:02
SPEAKER_05: So Lisa, since she's the adult here, yeah, what's our next topic?
1:13:06
SPEAKER_05: What's next on our agenda?
1:13:09
SPEAKER_03: Who was your favorite death on season two?
1:13:14
SPEAKER_03: I know it's kind of morbid, right?
1:13:16
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's weird.
1:13:16
SPEAKER_00: Favorite death is like the the the best, like the best death scene.
1:13:22
SPEAKER_05: The one that we act that you reacted to?
1:13:24
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
1:13:24
SPEAKER_05: Like the one that made you like, oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
1:13:28
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, um, honestly, it's gonna sound really weird, but if it's not like my favorite character or something, I'd never care about death in shows ever.
1:13:37
SPEAKER_00: Almost ever.
1:13:38
SPEAKER_00: Um if it's not somebody I'm really attached to.
1:13:41
SPEAKER_00: And then if I was really attached, I would hate it.
1:13:44
SPEAKER_00: So there is somebody who dies in the future, and I'm really upset about that.
1:13:49
SPEAKER_00: Um, like the best character is gone.
1:13:51
SPEAKER_00: I was like, what are you what but um I don't have those feelings connected to anyone, and I thought about that a lot watching it this time around.
1:14:00
SPEAKER_04: You said so much, I don't think you know what you said to me.
1:14:03
SPEAKER_04: But anyway.
1:14:04
SPEAKER_03: Oh that okay, but let's let's be realistic.
1:14:09
SPEAKER_03: Season two, a shitload of people died.
1:14:12
SPEAKER_03: Right, right.
1:14:12
SPEAKER_03: So, what makes you think that it's it's one person over another going forward?
1:14:19
SPEAKER_01: What?
1:14:20
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, exactly.
1:14:23
SPEAKER_03: No, keep going.
1:14:24
SPEAKER_00: And it it also You gotta have to listen, sorry.
1:14:28
SPEAKER_00: I mean, as crazy as this show No, I heard you, this didn't make sense.
1:14:32
SPEAKER_00: I heard you.
1:14:33
SPEAKER_00: I mean, like, you don't know yet that people might not come back.
1:14:37
SPEAKER_05: I assume everyone will get killed off eventually.
1:14:40
SPEAKER_05: There might be like two or three left.
1:14:42
SPEAKER_05: I feel like with lost is like everyone's gonna die.
1:14:45
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you can't maybe they all die, maybe they all come back, maybe you know, maybe Maybe they're all already dead.
1:14:50
SPEAKER_00: Dead, yeah.
1:14:51
SPEAKER_00: It's you just you really it doesn't matter, really.
1:14:53
SPEAKER_05: I love you, Lisa.
1:14:55
SPEAKER_05: Um damn, that is a hard question though, because I'm trying to run through all the deaths.
1:15:00
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
1:15:00
SPEAKER_03: If you could bring one back, who would you bring back?
1:15:03
SPEAKER_00: I think Shannon was probably I would kind of regret Shannon's death.
1:15:06
SPEAKER_00: That's what I was gonna say too.
1:15:08
SPEAKER_00: I didn't care the first time around, and I don't know that I cared this much, but watching it again, as soon as I saw her, I was like, Shannon, I remember you.
1:15:17
SPEAKER_00: I was like, she had a little arc, and she, you know, because she was like a racist, and then she's in love with this dude, and you know, it's all this stuff, and she's taking care of the dog, and she's beautiful, kinda.
1:15:26
SPEAKER_00: Um, and there's all this stuff, but also one thing that was weird to me about it was that you had Shannon and Boone, and I and they had a lot going on.
1:15:35
SPEAKER_00: I'm not even sure if we've seen everything, I don't know where we are, but they had a lot going on, and I just understand why you take both of those characters.
1:15:43
SPEAKER_00: So that was one thing I was like, why would you introduce this family and there's so much going on, and then take both of them?
1:15:49
SPEAKER_00: So that is what I thought watching it this time around for the first time, because I didn't care about Shannon at all before.
1:15:54
SPEAKER_00: I thought she was pretty like plastic aesthetic, even though they tried to give her this arc, I still didn't care.
1:15:59
SPEAKER_00: She's like tall and thin and blonde and like into you know her look.
1:16:03
SPEAKER_00: She didn't she like she was kidding a tan at first.
1:16:05
SPEAKER_00: She was gonna find us.
1:16:07
SPEAKER_05: I kind of support that.
1:16:07
SPEAKER_05: Like, listen, what else is gonna do?
1:16:09
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
1:16:10
SPEAKER_05: But like, like, what else are you gonna fucking do?
1:16:12
SPEAKER_05: I'm just like I'm trapped here.
1:16:14
SPEAKER_05: Fuck it.
1:16:15
SPEAKER_05: That's fair.
1:16:16
SPEAKER_05: Like the world's burning.
1:16:17
SPEAKER_05: Give me some fucking marshmallows.
1:16:19
SPEAKER_00: Have a good time, you know.
1:16:20
SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
1:16:21
SPEAKER_00: Um yeah, I would bring her back.
1:16:23
SPEAKER_00: I would bring her back to see where she goes in the next three, four seasons.
1:16:28
SPEAKER_05: I would I would have liked to have seen that.
1:16:30
SPEAKER_05: I think she has so much potential.
1:16:31
SPEAKER_05: I think the at first, I think the first thing I said about her, like she there's more to her that there even there's so much more to her.
1:16:38
SPEAKER_05: I have so much hope for her.
1:16:39
SPEAKER_05: And she was stunned to show it and prove even with her superficialness, there was still like there was something there.
1:16:45
SPEAKER_05: And then just when you see it, you're like just yanked it away.
1:16:48
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, I agree.
1:16:49
SPEAKER_00: I totally agree.
1:16:50
SPEAKER_00: There's a scene where she's talking to her uh, was it like her stepmom or whatever, and she's just like, no, if I just go to New York, that's the first time watching this, although I've seen it probably four times where I'm thinking like I kind of felt for her, like, no, give her a shot.
1:17:01
SPEAKER_00: This time's for real, mom.
1:17:03
SPEAKER_00: You know, and so and we don't get to see that, maybe.
1:17:06
SPEAKER_00: So that was um, yeah, I would say Shannon probably.
1:17:10
SPEAKER_00: And that pissed me off to the highest level of passivity.
1:17:14
SPEAKER_05: Because, listen, bitch, yeah, you married the man, but ultimately that bit that money that wasn't your money.
1:17:20
SPEAKER_05: His fucking child.
1:17:21
SPEAKER_05: Like, I agree with you.
1:17:22
SPEAKER_05: I agree.
1:17:24
SPEAKER_05: Like, bitch, you just lost your fucking mind.
1:17:26
SPEAKER_05: It would have been a whole different story if it was a black girl.
1:17:28
SPEAKER_05: Like, like, word, watch a bitch.
1:17:30
SPEAKER_05: Like, it would have been a totally different story.
1:17:32
SPEAKER_00: I didn't like the story all watching it this time.
1:17:34
SPEAKER_00: Like, what living?
1:17:35
SPEAKER_00: It's her dad.
1:17:36
SPEAKER_00: Like, are you serious?
1:17:37
SPEAKER_00: And you're making a decision that she needs to make her own money?
1:17:40
SPEAKER_00: Like, what?
1:17:41
SPEAKER_00: So yeah, I don't like it all at all.
1:17:43
SPEAKER_05: I wouldn't be so like, I was kind of convinced of like if it wasn't an accident, I would have said that the Sabbath killed him.
1:17:50
SPEAKER_05: Like, it would just like he had just changed his will.
1:17:52
SPEAKER_05: And even if he did change the will, because I didn't see him based on you what you glimber from their relationship, I don't see him not telling her.
1:18:02
SPEAKER_05: So I feel like that was just like it just happened.
1:18:05
SPEAKER_00: Well, it's not like he's not on the island or anything, so I don't know.
1:18:16
SPEAKER_04: Okay, you at least, I hate you both.
1:18:20
SPEAKER_03: Speaking of Boone, I wanna I wanna get Jamar's opinion on something.
1:18:26
SPEAKER_03: Boone, according to Locke, is a sacrifice that the island demanded.
1:18:31
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I remember that.
1:18:32
SPEAKER_03: And according to Locke, he was sacrificed in order to get into the hatch.
1:18:37
SPEAKER_03: Locke is having towards the end of season one, Locke is having like a crisis of faith, blah blah blah, because Boone dies, he wants to get into the hatch, the light comes on, his faith is renewed.
1:18:51
SPEAKER_03: Season two, we see him in the hatch.
1:18:54
SPEAKER_03: He's he refers to it as his hatch.
1:18:57
SPEAKER_03: He's like a pig in shit, he's happy.
1:19:00
SPEAKER_03: Towards the end of season two, now his faith is tested again.
1:19:04
SPEAKER_03: Once he sees the video in the Pearl Station, that it's an experiment, and now his faith is being tested again.
1:19:12
SPEAKER_03: We lose Boone to the hatch, but we gain Desmond in the hatch.
1:19:19
SPEAKER_03: Do you feel like how does that make you feel in terms of characters and storylines and you know like Locke's faith issues?
1:19:35
SPEAKER_00: That is a lot, that's a huge thing.
1:19:37
SPEAKER_03: That's a lot, I know, I'm sorry.
1:19:40
SPEAKER_00: Um I don't know.
1:19:42
SPEAKER_00: I originally watching this wasn't that compelled by Locke's whole faith man of faith thing initially at all.
1:19:50
SPEAKER_00: I just to me he seemed like an idiot.
1:19:52
SPEAKER_00: Like I was not compelled initially.
1:19:54
SPEAKER_00: Watching it for again, probably the fourth or fifth time, I'm more compelled by Locke's journey and his faith and belief and his abilities and all the stuff, everything.
1:20:05
SPEAKER_00: I'm more compelled this time.
1:20:06
SPEAKER_00: So that's I'm I'm I'm on Locke's side now when I wasn't before.
1:20:09
SPEAKER_00: He was just annoying to me initially.
1:20:12
SPEAKER_00: Um as far as like Desmond versus Boom, similar to Shannon, I was not very into Boom.
1:20:18
SPEAKER_00: Even though he was like, I don't know, the good brother or something, you know, he was the one who was trying to be something and maybe had a little bit together or whatever.
1:20:27
SPEAKER_00: Um if you want to go Boom versus Desmond, because yeah, we lose this one guy, we gain this other guy.
1:20:33
SPEAKER_00: I mean, you could always argue that, hey, we could have found the door to the hatch some other way, or yeah, we didn't have to, you know, that's that's all those that's how it had to be.
1:20:43
SPEAKER_00: I am all for that.
1:20:44
SPEAKER_00: From a real-world writing perspective, or for like an island mysterious perspective, I I am all for let's get rid of Boone and let's meet Desmond.
1:20:54
SPEAKER_00: Especially if we get to learn more about Desmond going forward.
1:20:57
SPEAKER_00: I doubt that happens.
1:20:58
SPEAKER_00: But if it happens, he's more a more interesting character, I think, going forward.
1:21:03
SPEAKER_00: Uh Boone might have done what he was there to do, which is something I think about a lot in life, but also in this show, like you're there, you know, for a season or a reason or whatever that saying is, and like people in this show, they have their thing that they have to do, and then they're out.
1:21:16
SPEAKER_00: And I think Boone, Boone did his thing and he's out.
1:21:19
SPEAKER_00: Right.
1:21:20
SPEAKER_05: I like Libby.
1:21:21
SPEAKER_05: Like with Libby, I think she did her thing and I think she made her and her she made Hurley feel better about being Hurley.
1:21:31
SPEAKER_05: I think he she made you know she completed him in a way that he needed to make himself feel more whole, like a man, like a human being.
1:21:41
SPEAKER_05: Like we all want to feel like someone who wants us and wants to be with us rather.
1:21:45
SPEAKER_05: So I think she that was what I think I think what she did with Hurley.
1:21:49
SPEAKER_05: Okay because he's always had friends.
1:21:51
SPEAKER_05: Like he, you know, there's people that in his life that he considered good friends, he had his family.
1:21:57
SPEAKER_05: But until Libby, you don't see him with another girl.
1:22:00
SPEAKER_05: And even when he asked a girl out in his flashback, she took it right.
1:22:05
SPEAKER_05: I think she took it more as a friendship thing.
1:22:09
SPEAKER_05: So Libby, I think Libby was here for him.
1:22:13
SPEAKER_05: Because by then Okay.
1:22:15
SPEAKER_05: No, no, go ahead.
1:22:16
SPEAKER_05: I think by the time the accident happened, because we still think that Libby ended up in Santa Rosa, Santa Maria Santa Rosa, because of her husband's death.
1:22:27
SPEAKER_05: That's what we're surmising.
1:22:28
SPEAKER_05: That's what I'm surmising.
1:22:29
SPEAKER_03: So I wanted to ask you your opinion also.
1:22:32
SPEAKER_05: So by time the accident, it's kind of clear, you can kind of guess that she's moved on from that.
1:22:39
SPEAKER_05: Like she's but she had a better place in her life already.
1:22:43
SPEAKER_05: So I think this, I think she was here back to my They're All Dead.
1:22:46
SPEAKER_05: I think she was here for Harry.
1:22:48
SPEAKER_05: I like I like that idea.
1:22:49
SPEAKER_05: And even if she was, it makes me feel good to know that she died for you know she completed something good.
1:22:55
SPEAKER_03: Why do you think Libby was in the institution?
1:22:58
SPEAKER_03: Any thoughts?
1:23:00
SPEAKER_00: Actually, no, I don't.
1:23:01
SPEAKER_00: I just don't remember enough.
1:23:02
SPEAKER_00: I mean, I know she was in the institution, I remember the scenes and stuff, but I don't remember enough to really have an opinion about why she was there.
1:23:10
SPEAKER_00: Um, and I'm not just saying that to throw you off the track.
1:23:12
SPEAKER_00: I really don't.
1:23:13
SPEAKER_00: And I thought about it this whole second season, like what was yeah, what was it?
1:23:17
SPEAKER_05: But to be still to be fair, they really give her a lot of backstory to begin with.
1:23:21
SPEAKER_05: Right.
1:23:22
SPEAKER_05: So you have to like she was like she's always someone's side dish of their main entree.
1:23:28
SPEAKER_05: So it takes you have to really Right.
1:23:30
SPEAKER_05: No, I agree.
1:23:31
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
1:23:32
SPEAKER_03: So in the show so far, Locke is one of your favorites, Agnes.
1:23:39
SPEAKER_03: I love Locke that if Locke leaves the show or dies or whatever, that she's done.
1:23:44
SPEAKER_05: That's why when you said Jamar a little while ago, like, oh my god, they killed the best character.
1:23:48
SPEAKER_05: I'm like, did you just did you just tell me something and won't you tell me something?
1:23:53
SPEAKER_05: You know what?
1:23:55
SPEAKER_00: I actually could tell you and it would tell you nothing.
1:23:58
SPEAKER_00: I could tell you exactly and it would tell you nothing.
1:24:03
SPEAKER_00: Right.
1:24:04
SPEAKER_00: I can literally tell you what happens and it wouldn't tell you a thing.
1:24:08
SPEAKER_05: Okay, so Locke was dead when he was already on the plane.
1:24:12
SPEAKER_05: Yes.
1:24:14
SPEAKER_00: That's exactly right.
1:24:18
SPEAKER_00: Oh, you just don't know, Agnes.
1:24:20
SPEAKER_00: I can't wait to talk to you at the end.
1:24:24
SPEAKER_05: So when it comes to Locke.
1:24:26
SPEAKER_05: Are you guys when he like if he okay, no, not if when he's killed off, I think you guys need to send me alcohol to get me through my pain.
1:24:32
SPEAKER_05: Just send it to me directly.
1:24:35
SPEAKER_05: Amazon it to me, Patrol Silver, Patron Platinum, either one.
1:24:43
SPEAKER_03: She's still waiting to figure out how he ended up in the wheelchair.
1:24:47
SPEAKER_05: I know.
1:24:48
SPEAKER_03: But in the meantime, season one, we were introduced to this character who was in a wheelchair, then gets to the island.
1:24:57
SPEAKER_03: Now he's not in the wheelchair.
1:25:00
SPEAKER_03: But we every aspect that we see from season one, season two of his past life, he is such a sad character.
1:25:09
SPEAKER_03: But then on the island, it's like almost his chance to redeem himself.
1:25:13
SPEAKER_03: But then at the end of season two, he's insisting that they can't push the button because it's fake, it's whatever.
1:25:23
SPEAKER_03: And then at the end, when everything starts to go to shit, he's like, I was wrong.
1:25:30
SPEAKER_03: Where do you rate Locke on the sad scale?
1:25:34
SPEAKER_05: Like who, me or Jamar?
1:25:36
SPEAKER_00: Both.
1:25:37
SPEAKER_00: Everybody.
1:25:38
SPEAKER_05: I don't think he's as sad.
1:25:41
SPEAKER_05: I think super, I think on the outside, superficially, the character is a sad character.
1:25:46
SPEAKER_05: When you think about it, he's not because after every kick in the face, he still gets up, he still moves on.
1:25:53
SPEAKER_05: So I don't think he's particularly a sad character.
1:25:55
SPEAKER_05: Even after he's in the wheelchair and he's like, I'm doing this walkabout, like he can very easily be like, I give up on life.
1:26:01
SPEAKER_05: And he still doesn't.
1:26:04
SPEAKER_05: And I think he's probably one of the strongest characters.
1:26:08
SPEAKER_03: So do you think, Agnes, do you think that him refusing to push the button was a test of a show of his strength or a show of his I give up?
1:26:20
SPEAKER_05: I think it was a fuck you too, whatever.
1:26:22
SPEAKER_05: I think it was uh his a grand, like, yeah, you want to push the button?
1:26:27
SPEAKER_05: Fuck you.
1:26:28
SPEAKER_05: I ain't pushing shit.
1:26:29
SPEAKER_05: And I and I think he took that that hit he took, like, damn, everything I believed in.
1:26:36
SPEAKER_05: I think once again it's like he could have been like, no, fuck, I don't care what you do.
1:26:39
SPEAKER_05: Push it, don't push it.
1:26:40
SPEAKER_05: He could have been just he could have easily just given up.
1:26:43
SPEAKER_05: Even even risking death.
1:26:46
SPEAKER_05: He I think he could have just it was maybe easy to be like, fuck it, hit it, don't hit it, I don't care.
1:26:52
SPEAKER_05: Not caring is so much easier than believing in something, whether it's against what you originally believed in or not.
1:26:59
SPEAKER_05: It's like he was like, Oh, this don't mean shit.
1:27:03
SPEAKER_05: Boom, I'm gonna we're not gonna push shit.
1:27:05
SPEAKER_05: And I think it's totally a 180 from his original thought, but it was still he had a fight in him.
1:27:11
SPEAKER_05: He still had some kind of fight into him.
1:27:13
SPEAKER_05: So I still think the show of strength.
1:27:16
SPEAKER_05: To say fuck you to anything and say I'm gonna do this regardless, right, wrong, or indifferent, is still you guys like that.
1:27:28
SPEAKER_05: Okay.
1:27:30
SPEAKER_05: Wow.
1:27:30
SPEAKER_05: Jamar.
1:27:36
SPEAKER_05: To be fair, I love I love Terry O'Quinn.
1:27:41
SPEAKER_05: I love him as an actor.
1:27:42
SPEAKER_05: I love everything he's ever been in.
1:27:44
SPEAKER_05: Hi, Terry.
1:27:45
SPEAKER_05: Like, he actually replied back to something Lisa had like his Instagram.
1:27:50
SPEAKER_05: So I was like, oh my god! I was like cloud 20 for like two weeks.
1:27:54
SPEAKER_05: So this character could do no wrong.
1:27:56
SPEAKER_03: It would have been better if I could record your reaction when I told you and I hadn't been in the shower when you finally called me back.
1:28:06
SPEAKER_03: I was like, what?
1:28:07
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, oh he is someone whose performance I've been really impressed with watching for the 800th time.
1:28:14
SPEAKER_00: I'm just watching like this man is putting it down.
1:28:17
SPEAKER_00: Like, this is he says like words and lines that'll make me think for like literally just like a off like is that what you
1:28:25
SPEAKER_05: And it's just kind of like, whoa, oh is that him and Echo when we're talking about like the writers?
1:28:32
SPEAKER_05: Yes, thank you.
1:28:33
SPEAKER_05: And the way they develop, they both, both those characters, you're like, really?
1:28:39
SPEAKER_05: Like, oh, not just characters.
1:28:42
SPEAKER_03: But it's their interactions and the connection between the two of them.
1:28:47
SPEAKER_00: I I agree.
1:28:48
SPEAKER_00: The Echo thing is another one.
1:28:50
SPEAKER_00: I I don't know if we talked about this the last time I was on the podcast, and I don't know how much the both of you probably know already, but a lot of how the show was written or structured or whatever about who was on and who was off and who did what was real-world stuff.
1:29:07
SPEAKER_00: And that's kind of the issue.
1:29:08
SPEAKER_00: So they didn't do what they wanted to do because there was a couple of incidents in Hawaii, there was some drunk driving incidents, there were some people not happy, so they had to be written off the show.
1:29:19
SPEAKER_03: But I heard that that was a myth.
1:29:22
SPEAKER_03: Like I heard that Anna Lucia had only um Michelle Rodriguez had only signed on for one year, and so that was just a coincidence.
1:29:30
SPEAKER_03: Libby, I'm not sure.
1:29:31
SPEAKER_00: No, I we looked up Libby, and it apparently it had nothing to do with any of that.
1:29:35
SPEAKER_03: Okay.
1:29:36
SPEAKER_00: Um yeah, it was just like she just left.
1:29:37
SPEAKER_00: Like a couple people, it wasn't just that stuff.
1:29:39
SPEAKER_00: So supposedly it was that for a few characters, but also um some people left to like try to do movies and be movie stars and stuff like that.
1:29:47
SPEAKER_00: A lot of them, they were just bored.
1:29:48
SPEAKER_00: They weren't in Hawaii by themselves with nothing for years, and after like fucking problems.
1:29:56
SPEAKER_00: Nothing but my ties at the beautiful beach.
1:29:59
SPEAKER_00: Oh, sounds so horrible.
1:30:01
SPEAKER_00: And and they just they either got into trouble or they just couldn't do it anymore.
1:30:05
SPEAKER_00: So that's part of the reason why the show kind of doesn't make sense sometimes because that was not planned for certain people to die at those moments.
1:30:11
SPEAKER_00: They had, I just know I'm trying not to say what characters, but they had real stories planned for people and it just cut abruptly.
1:30:20
SPEAKER_03: But okay, and I I and I'm sorry, Agnes, because I can say, like, for one, I know of one of those characters who was supposed to have a bigger role on this show and then didn't, but which led to another character getting more like a more in-depth role, and it really fucking paid off.
1:30:44
SPEAKER_03: I I mean I don't know what character one's arc would have been, but all I know is that character two was phenomenal.
1:30:52
SPEAKER_05: Well, who was character one?
1:30:54
SPEAKER_03: I can't tell you.
1:30:55
SPEAKER_03: Are they not here yet?
1:30:56
SPEAKER_03: I will I will be able to tell you next season.
1:30:59
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I yeah.
1:31:00
SPEAKER_00: I I'm thinking they are here now.
1:31:03
SPEAKER_03: I think I might you know more or less who they are, but I can't tell you because that was fair enough.
1:31:12
SPEAKER_05: No, I asked like I thought they're already dead, but okay, they're going to be killed off.
1:31:17
SPEAKER_05: Gotcha.
1:31:17
SPEAKER_05: Okay.
1:31:18
SPEAKER_05: Fair enough.
1:31:19
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so it's just hard.
1:31:20
SPEAKER_00: It's even talking about this and realizing or knowing that these people could have had these great all-time roles, and for whatever reason, it it and it's awkward.
1:31:30
SPEAKER_00: You can kind of tell, like, oh man, it's about something big is gonna happen.
1:31:33
SPEAKER_00: They're dead?
1:31:36
SPEAKER_00: What?
1:31:37
SPEAKER_00: So yeah, anyway.
1:31:39
SPEAKER_00: I know you asked a question.
1:31:41
SPEAKER_03: No, it's okay.
1:31:42
SPEAKER_03: It's alright.
1:31:42
SPEAKER_03: Oh, I was I was just asking about Locke's sad scale.
1:31:45
SPEAKER_03: Like, oh yeah, on the island, he's like this amazing person, but then when every time you see his flashback, you're like, man, he is Yeah.
1:31:53
SPEAKER_00: Honestly, in his flashbacks, it's probably the saddest thing I've ever seen in media.
1:31:57
SPEAKER_00: Like, literally, legitimately.
1:31:59
SPEAKER_00: It's just really heartbreaking, even when he has this good woman as Helen, right?
1:32:03
SPEAKER_00: And how he just can't move on and everything with his dad, and uh everything with everything.
1:32:08
SPEAKER_00: Uh when he thinks he's gonna achieve some great thing, and it's always like he falls on his face.
1:32:13
SPEAKER_00: Uh, in his flashbacks, he's probably the saddest character I've ever seen in anything.
1:32:17
SPEAKER_00: So, whatever the lowest bar is.
1:32:20
SPEAKER_00: And yes, he's a different person on the island.
1:32:21
SPEAKER_00: He's like, I'm thinking like this dude, what is he like definitely 50s?
1:32:25
SPEAKER_00: Is he close to 60?
1:32:26
SPEAKER_00: How is he walking, climbing trees, you know, like you know, all the things he's doing?
1:32:30
SPEAKER_00: Like he he he researched this stuff, he studied it, but he's never like been on an island by himself before.
1:32:37
SPEAKER_00: So he's kind of amazing, he's very impressive.
1:32:39
SPEAKER_00: But yeah, when you go to the flashbacks, and again, it's hard because I know the future of the character, um so it's kind of hard to Yeah, I know.
1:32:49
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I know interesting.
1:32:52
SPEAKER_05: I have a feeling Michelle Rodriguez wasn't signed on for a false like the full series, the full series.
1:32:57
SPEAKER_05: She wasn't feeling because she was part of already part of the family.
1:33:00
SPEAKER_05: No, she was only franchise.
1:33:02
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
1:33:02
SPEAKER_05: I just I just I was just curious.
1:33:04
SPEAKER_03: I'm like her role was always supposed to be limited.
1:33:07
SPEAKER_05: In and out.
1:33:09
SPEAKER_05: Make my make my presence known.
1:33:10
SPEAKER_03: There was some, if I remember correctly, there was some thing where the writers wanted to hire more people, um, like Latino actors or whatever on the show.
1:33:25
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but not because they the the character called for it, but just actor-wise.
1:33:32
SPEAKER_03: And I guess she fit the bill, but she never wanted to sign on to be like full in the series.
1:33:38
SPEAKER_03: It was always just limited.
1:33:41
SPEAKER_05: Still got a girl, I still got a girl crush on you.
1:33:44
SPEAKER_05: And she is, yeah, I think she is.
1:33:51
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, she is, so yeah.
1:33:54
SPEAKER_05: So interesting information about you.
1:33:59
SPEAKER_00: It's true.
1:33:59
SPEAKER_05: You know what's I have a crush on?
1:34:02
SPEAKER_05: Priyanka Chopa.
1:34:04
SPEAKER_00: Oh, okay.
1:34:07
SPEAKER_00: She could get it.
1:34:08
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I know, like uh, yeah, the most beautiful woman on the planet.
1:34:11
SPEAKER_00: Okay.
1:34:13
SPEAKER_03: Like taste of women.
1:34:14
SPEAKER_03: What do you have to do?
1:34:15
SPEAKER_03: I don't know who that is, but okay.
1:34:16
SPEAKER_05: Okay, she was a she's a she's um Indian actress, big actress, huge.
1:34:22
SPEAKER_00: She's been in everything like six years or whatever, something like that.
1:34:26
SPEAKER_05: And then um Quanico, she was the lead actress in Quantico.
1:34:29
SPEAKER_05: She married Nick Jonas, who's on his own is kind of sexual.
1:34:33
SPEAKER_05: I didn't even know that.
1:34:34
SPEAKER_00: I didn't know that.
1:34:35
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
1:34:36
unknown: Okay.
1:34:36
SPEAKER_05: She is that you go back.
1:34:39
SPEAKER_05: And then, right?
1:34:41
SPEAKER_00: I didn't know that at all.
1:34:42
SPEAKER_05: They got married like two a year and a half, two years ago.
1:34:45
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, because I was like, 'cause they're both because he was a little sexy too.
1:34:49
SPEAKER_05: I'm like, get it.
1:34:50
SPEAKER_05: Like he's a little girl to him.
1:34:51
SPEAKER_05: For white boy, he's a little girl to him, Lisa.
1:34:54
SPEAKER_05: And then some like, two sexy people.
1:34:55
SPEAKER_03: I mean, I wouldn't kick him out of bed, but I also probably wouldn't like go out of my way to fight him.
1:35:00
SPEAKER_05: But did you ever see this video in chains?
1:35:03
SPEAKER_00: I like that.
1:35:04
SPEAKER_05: Like, you see his video?
1:35:05
SPEAKER_05: It's like, damn.
1:35:07
SPEAKER_05: Like, it's he has something about him, he has sex appeal.
1:35:10
SPEAKER_05: Like, is he something like you know, some people just like, okay, you're cute, but they have sex appeal about them?
1:35:17
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, he has sex appeal.
1:35:18
SPEAKER_05: So both those two in their bed, I'll hit I'm all in there.
1:35:25
SPEAKER_03: Okay.
1:35:26
SPEAKER_03: This is the term.
1:35:29
SPEAKER_00: She wasn't in lost, I don't think.
1:35:31
SPEAKER_00: I don't think either of those people were in lost, I don't think.
1:35:34
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I'm gonna watch um Quanica again.
1:35:38
SPEAKER_05: All right.
1:35:40
SPEAKER_03: Let's watch their minutes.
1:35:44
SPEAKER_03: Going forward, I know I asked you this last time, but what advice would you give to her, to Agnes, going forward, season three and beyond?
1:35:55
SPEAKER_03: And definitely we will have you back for season three if you're willing.
1:35:59
SPEAKER_00: Probably not.
1:36:00
SPEAKER_00: Um just my least favorite season, that's it.
1:36:05
SPEAKER_00: But you know, who knows?
1:36:06
SPEAKER_00: Everything changes.
1:36:07
SPEAKER_00: I might watch it now and be like, oh man, I was crazy.
1:36:09
SPEAKER_00: This is so deep.
1:36:10
SPEAKER_03: But anyway, well, you could just also come on season three finale and talk about how much you hated it.
1:36:14
SPEAKER_03: That's cool too.
1:36:15
SPEAKER_00: Cool.
1:36:16
SPEAKER_00: I love doing that.
1:36:16
SPEAKER_00: I love complaining about things.
1:36:18
SPEAKER_00: This is my favorite opinions.
1:36:21
SPEAKER_03: That'll work.
1:36:22
SPEAKER_00: Uh oh, so I have to give you like advice or something going forward.
1:36:25
SPEAKER_00: That's the deal.
1:36:27
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, like, you know, just what's uh stick around.
1:36:30
SPEAKER_03: Look, she likes season two more than she likes season one, but she's still not fully like invested.
1:36:38
SPEAKER_00: Well, here's what I would say, and I I'm not sure what I said before, but it's probably something similar-ish.
1:36:43
SPEAKER_00: Uh I don't know how much you like the show, uh, not a lot, I guess, and how invested you are in these characters, maybe a little bit, because you get to know these characters, you see them a lot.
1:36:53
SPEAKER_00: Uh so stick with that, whatever characters you love, like a John Locke or whatever, stick with those characters.
1:36:58
SPEAKER_00: But no, if for whatever reason this show isn't the show for you, season four is a different show.
1:37:05
SPEAKER_00: Same characters, same story, different show.
1:37:09
SPEAKER_00: Not the same show.
1:37:11
SPEAKER_00: And and if you hate this show, you might love these characters in the show that starts season four.
1:37:18
SPEAKER_00: You can call it like Lost Again or something, or found.
1:37:22
SPEAKER_00: Call it found.
1:37:26
SPEAKER_05: Okay, okay, all right, okay, Lisa, you need to thank Jamar.
1:37:31
SPEAKER_05: Because now I'm like, I was like, every I guess I gotta be honest with you, Lisa.
1:37:36
SPEAKER_05: Every episode, I'm like, do I really want to do this?
1:37:38
SPEAKER_05: Like, if I didn't promise Lisa I'll do this, I would have fought, I would have quit a long time ago.
1:37:43
SPEAKER_05: But I stick with my word.
1:37:44
SPEAKER_05: I'm like, okay, I'm gonna do this.
1:37:47
SPEAKER_05: But his little like wait to season four thing got me like, okay.
1:37:53
SPEAKER_00: Completely different shows.
1:37:55
SPEAKER_05: Absolutely.
1:37:56
SPEAKER_05: I am going to I'm going to stand firm and suffer through the season with the show.
1:38:04
SPEAKER_03: And I will say this though.
1:38:05
SPEAKER_05: We're gonna make it memorable.
1:38:07
SPEAKER_03: There are definitely episodes where you're like, but overall, season three does move along the plot of the show.
1:38:19
SPEAKER_03: There are definitely aspects that you need going forward, so you can't just kind of like skip it.
1:38:27
SPEAKER_03: Okay.
1:38:28
SPEAKER_00: For sure.
1:38:29
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, you know, well, that would I I know I joke about it, but I would never skip it because it's just kind of like a fucking O C D.
1:38:36
SPEAKER_05: I'm like um A, B, C, then D, damn it, people.
1:38:40
SPEAKER_05: So no, I would never skip it.
1:38:41
SPEAKER_05: It would bother me too much.
1:38:43
SPEAKER_03: Have you, Jamar, have you watched the Missing Pieces webisodes?
1:38:48
SPEAKER_00: I don't think so.
1:38:49
SPEAKER_03: Me either.
1:38:50
SPEAKER_05: Look at his face! Okay, I have a suggestion.
1:38:53
SPEAKER_05: We got six minutes.
1:38:54
SPEAKER_05: So Lisa wants to do this, they had like interim season webisodes, right?
1:39:00
SPEAKER_03: After season three ended, which was like May, then uh season four didn't pick up until like January.
1:39:08
SPEAKER_03: So in the interim, they did I don't I'm I'm thinking maybe that was when like there was a writer strike or maybe something like that, but uh they did these like few-minute webisodes, and there's like I don't know how many there are, there might be like ten of them, and they're all just a few minutes each.
1:39:25
SPEAKER_03: Right, of course.
1:39:26
SPEAKER_00: It's weird because I watched that stuff with every series, but I can't remember watching that with Lost at all.
1:39:30
SPEAKER_03: I've never watched it either.
1:39:31
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and so yeah, so we're gonna we're probably gonna do a just like one episode encompassing all of them.
1:39:40
SPEAKER_03: But it'll be the first time that I watch them too.
1:39:43
SPEAKER_03: You are joining us.
1:39:44
SPEAKER_05: I know we should ask you, but I'm kind of voluntelling you.
1:39:48
SPEAKER_05: Um, you will be joining us for that episode of the webisodes.
1:39:54
SPEAKER_05: I wish I wouldn't have seen that.
1:39:55
SPEAKER_05: I gotta go figure out.
1:39:56
SPEAKER_05: So it'll be new for all of us.
1:39:57
SPEAKER_05: I think that I'm excited about that.
1:40:00
SPEAKER_05: Yay, another Jamal episode.
1:40:03
SPEAKER_05: No one else likes us, so no.
1:40:05
SPEAKER_05: That's not true.
1:40:06
SPEAKER_00: You two hundreds of people on Instagram are liking something you do.
1:40:09
SPEAKER_05: So I'm curious, I'm actually curious.
1:40:12
SPEAKER_05: Like, I know they love the post.
1:40:14
SPEAKER_05: I wonder how many of them listen to the episodes, though.
1:40:18
SPEAKER_05: I'm just curious.
1:40:19
SPEAKER_00: Well, I know people listen to the episode I was on because they liked it because they told me.
1:40:22
SPEAKER_00: Because I like posted it and like people told me, Oh, yeah, those two.
1:40:27
SPEAKER_05: People actually like you, so thus they listen to the episode.
1:40:30
SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
1:40:31
SPEAKER_03: Same thing like when Alex was on.
1:40:34
SPEAKER_03: Jerk.
1:40:34
SPEAKER_05: Her husband was on, and then we love that one.
1:40:37
SPEAKER_05: Uh we should have.
1:40:38
SPEAKER_03: I didn't even I I haven't even told him yet that that was like one of our highest-rated episodes.
1:40:42
SPEAKER_05: Like that was the whole season ago.
1:40:44
SPEAKER_03: I don't even want to give him that satisfaction.
1:40:46
SPEAKER_05: I don't want to tell him.
1:40:49
SPEAKER_05: I think we need more guests.
1:40:50
SPEAKER_05: I think we need more guests, and that is a trick that people do.
1:40:53
SPEAKER_00: I hate guests personally, but that's a trick.
1:40:55
SPEAKER_00: That's a good one.
1:40:56
SPEAKER_05: I've been telling you, Lisa, we need more guests.
1:40:58
SPEAKER_03: Well, I like I like talking to other people and I like having this connection, but I think that there's a time and a place.
1:41:06
SPEAKER_03: And so it's it's nothing, it's nothing like to the other people.
1:41:12
SPEAKER_03: But I think that, you know, it's just not like an everyday type of thing.
1:41:17
SPEAKER_05: No, no, absolutely not.
1:41:19
SPEAKER_05: But maybe like one in between the season, like halfway through the season have another season.
1:41:23
SPEAKER_05: Here we are.
1:41:28
SPEAKER_05: Even he says we're pathetic that he's the only one.
1:41:31
SPEAKER_05: He's like, I thought there'd be more people on there.
1:41:37
SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we would all right.
1:41:41
SPEAKER_00: Sorry.
1:41:42
SPEAKER_02: But anyway.
1:41:44
unknown: I'm just blacking out.

SPEAKER_00: That's gotta be like a theme to my podcast.
1:44:09
SPEAKER_03: I might have to edit that little part out, but No, no, I want it.
1:44:13
SPEAKER_00: Or send it to me.
1:44:14
SPEAKER_00: Either way.

SPEAKER_00: I did that for a while.
1:44:22
SPEAKER_00: Nobody paid, and I stopped doing it.
1:44:24
SPEAKER_00: Really good podcast episodes like behind the paywalls and they didn't fall for it.
