- 0:04Speaker 1: Now it's time to catch up with Country Weekly, where
- 0:07we dive into use and gossip from the world of
- 0:10country music. I'm your host, Ken Dawkins as always, and
- 0:14I'll be reading from various sources found online. As a reminder,
- 0:18RADIOI is a reading service intended for people who are
- 0:21blind or have other disabilities that make it difficult to
- 0:24read printed material. We'll begin with the first article, dated
- 0:28August nineteenth, from mass Live at yahoo dot com. Country
- 0:35Music Icon to slow down following heart attack at eighty six,
- 0:40Ray Stevens has made a difficult decision after the country
- 0:43music legend suffered a heart attack last month. The Country
- 0:46Music Hall of Fame inductee said Monday that he is
- 0:49selling his West Nashville based cabaret showroom at eighty six.
- 0:53With my recent health problems, it's probably time to slow
- 0:56down and selling cabaret as the first step. Stephens road
- 0:59in an Instagram post on August eighteenth, But in the interim,
- 1:03I still plan on doing shows once I'm fully recovered,
- 1:05he wrote. I still have a lot I want to
- 1:07do in the recording studio, so I'll focus all of
- 1:10my energy in that direction, along with making videos to
- 1:13go along with the music from time to time. Stephen's
- 1:16best known for his Grammy winning recordings Everything is Beautiful
- 1:19and Misty. Suffered a mild heart attack in early July.
- 1:22According to the post, the singer underwent minimally invasive heart
- 1:26surgery at the time. Stevens then had another procedure in
- 1:29late July, where doctors play two stints to clear the blockages.
- 1:33The post read. He spent a few days in Nashville
- 1:36at a rehabilitation facility and is now at home resting
- 1:39to regain his strength. While Stevens adores his cabaret showroom,
- 1:44the guitarzan singer is ready for the right person to
- 1:47buy the space. I'd like to see someone buy it
- 1:50and have as much fun here as I have, Stephens
- 1:52said in the Instagram post. It's a great facility, and
- 1:55we've had weddings, TV show tapings, fundraising events for charities,
- 1:59political care campaigns, corporate meetings, and all star music performances
- 2:03with and without banquet dinners, all prepared and served here.
- 2:06He added. It's a multi use facility, but primarily it's
- 2:09an outstanding music venue. The sound is fabulous. Steve has
- 2:13opened Stevens opened the Cabaret Showroom in twenty eighteen and
- 2:17has performed there almost exclusively ever since. The thirty five
- 2:21thousand square foot cabaret features a main showroom with upstairs
- 2:25and downstairs seating for over seven hundred people. It also
- 2:28is a backstage production area with dressing rooms, a lobby, bar, kitchen,
- 2:32ticketing offices, studio, as well as an office space. Cabaret
- 2:36has parking for three hundred vehicles and several tour buses.
- 2:41We move over to countrynow dot com for the next article.
- 2:44Dated August nineteenth, Gavin Adcock cleared of major chargers following
- 2:48arrest for reckless driving in Tennessee. Rising Country Act Gavin
- 2:53Adcock was back in court this week, nearly three months
- 2:56after his May twenty first arrest for reckless driving and
- 2:59violating Tennessee's open container laws just outside of Nashville. Records
- 3:03from the Tennessee Highway Patrol at the time revealed he
- 3:06was taken into custody at eleven fifteen PM and released
- 3:09on a ten thousand I'm sorry on a one thousand
- 3:11dollars bond at four thirty am. That's on Thursday, May
- 3:14twenty second. The twenty six year old took to social
- 3:18media shortly after his release to explain and he was
- 3:20pulled over for speeding and is newly restored nineteen seventy
- 3:23three Dodge Challenger. The post featured a close up of
- 3:26his mug shot on the first slide and an image
- 3:28of his vehicle on the next. I bought my dream
- 3:31car as seventy three Dodge Challenger, he rode. Over the
- 3:34past few months. I've been putting money into it, getting
- 3:36it running as good as new, and I decided to
- 3:38take it for a joy ride. The car ran great.
- 3:40I pulled over and got arrested for reckless driving going
- 3:43one hundred and three in Wilson County on Monday morning,
- 3:47August eighteenth. Ad Cock let fans know that he was
- 3:49heading to court for the incident when he posted a
- 3:52selfie in front of the Wilson County Criminal Justice Center.
- 3:55All I know is it always works out, he wrote
- 3:57in the caption. Newly released Wilson County, Tennessee court records
- 4:01indicate that his message appeared to be true, as both
- 4:04the misdemeanor reckless driving and open container charges were dismissed,
- 4:08along with his traffic citations for having an invalid license.
- 4:12In the end, Gavin Idcock only pled guilty to a
- 4:14speeding ticket before fans learned that the charges had been
- 4:18dropped by Watkinsville, Georgia. Natives. Sparked a wave of concern
- 4:21when he posted a cryptic TikTok after his hearing, indicating
- 4:24that he might be serving some time. Well, I just
- 4:27got out of court, going away for some time at
- 4:29least I dropped this album last Friday. See all can
- 4:32listen to it. Well, I'm gone. He then clarified in
- 4:35the caption that he wasn't actually doing time behind bars,
- 4:38but he was celebrating the release of his third album,
- 4:40Own Worst Enemy. In a follow up video, he set
- 4:44the record straight, saying I Am not going to jail.
- 4:47Adcock then stated that instead he would be signing vinyls
- 4:50out of walmart in Franklin, Tennessee. Next, Miranda Lambert and
- 4:55Parker McCollum raise over eight point five million dollars for
- 4:58Central Texas flood relief with Band Together Texas benefit. Artists,
- 5:04actors and athletes from Texas joined country superstars Miranda Lambert
- 5:07and Parker McCollum on Sunday evening for Banded Together Texas
- 5:11at Austin's Moody Center. The event paid tribute to the
- 5:14lives lost in the Central Texas floods, while also celebrating
- 5:18the everyday heroes and first responders who saved so many others.
- 5:22Benefiting the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country and
- 5:25the Central Texas Community Foundation, it has already raised more
- 5:28than eight and a half million dollars in counting. The
- 5:31sold out show lasted nearly three hours and was broadcast
- 5:35live on iHeartRadio, SiriusXM, YouTube, Facebook, and nugs Net, encouraging
- 5:40fans to contribute to ongoing relief efforts. Matthew McConaughey made
- 5:45a special appearance to open the show with a monologue
- 5:47detailing the importance of the event. The show officially opened
- 5:51with Lambert and McCollum performing the George Strait classic True.
- 5:54Thank you Austin, Texas for showing up tonight. Thank you
- 5:57everybody for tuning in and showing up for us. Were
- 5:59banding together as Texans tonight. Lambert told the crowd, It's
- 6:03going to be a magical night of music for an
- 6:05amazing cause. My buddy Parker and I we called each
- 6:07other right away and we asked what can we do.
- 6:10We can sing. Let's go sing, and that's what we're
- 6:12doing tonight. Throughout the evening, Lambert and McCollum welcomed the
- 6:16slew of artists to the stage, including Wade Bowen, Dylan Gossip,
- 6:19Jack Ingram, Ronnie Dunn, Lucas Nelson, and Pat Green. Additionally,
- 6:23actor Dennis Quaid, former U T Longhorns coach Mack Brown,
- 6:27and players Emmanuel Echo, Colt McCoy and Vince Young. Major
- 6:31League Baseball star and Houston native Roger Clemens. Television host
- 6:34in Dallas native Chris Harrison and Austin based fashion designer
- 6:38Kendra Scott's shared stories honoring courage and strength in the
- 6:41Hill Country. The evening also hired a light at the
- 6:44bravery of first responders. Scott honored Razor Dobbs, public information
- 6:48officer for the Centerpoint Volunteer Fire Department, along with Fire
- 6:52Chief Charles Holt. Harrison extended recognition to the Texas Game
- 6:55Wardens who were in attendance. Making a surprise appearance at
- 6:59Band Together Texas was Jason Aldean, who performed at the
- 7:02Moody Center the night before. He generously donated his stage
- 7:06and production crew for the event and took the stage
- 7:09to perform She's Country and a duet of Amarillo Sky
- 7:12with Lambert. Thank you guys so much. Yeah, I had
- 7:15to stay an extra day here in Austin. I can't
- 7:17think of a better cause to be here for this
- 7:20than this, Aldeine stated huge thank you to Miranda and
- 7:23Parker for doing this tonight. Jason was here last night
- 7:27as you already know, but he felt all of his
- 7:28stuff and left all of his stuff for us to
- 7:31use and stayed an extra day to sing a song
- 7:33for us. So you're an honorary Texan tonight, friend, Lambert declared.
- 7:37The show concluded with an all star performance of On
- 7:39the Road Again. Next, Keith Urban launches Rising Star Scholarship
- 7:45to give Australian artists get gateway to Nashville. Keith Urban
- 7:50is teaming up with one of Australia's largest and longest

- 8:55them opportunities to collaborate or tour alongside him as a
- 8:59supporting act. Recently, he teamed up with Blake Shelton to
- 9:02host a new music CBS reality competition series, The Road,
- 9:07which was created as a new way to help guide
- 9:09a group of rising musicians as they travel across America.
- 9:12Chasing their dreams. Currently, Keith Urban is on the road

- 9:19special guests Chase Matthew, Atlanta Springsteen, and Carly Scott Collins
- 9:23on select dates. The tour will conclude on October seventeenth
- 9:26at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena. Now we move over to the
- 9:31Lane Report the July edition, which I just received. We
- 9:35moved to the Authentic Notes section. Something called fresh Tracks,
- 9:39New Music, Rising Stars and powerful returns from Kentucky's rich
- 9:42musical landscape, written by Matt Wickstrom. First off new music
- 9:47Jordan Allen Laying It Down. The London, Kentucky based singer
- 9:51looks to repent and break away from a cycle of
- 9:54sin and heartfelt humility. It's a driven ballad. Laying It
- 9:57Down a star contrast from allen previous single Dogwood's Bark.
- 10:02Laying It Down sees him return to the soft spoken,
- 10:05country adjacent sound that populated Take This Outside and The Curse,
- 10:10two of his other offerings from earlier this year. Other
- 10:13new music Nicholas Jamerson Running Out of Daylight. The Prestonsburg
- 10:18based poet sings about not taking your time for granted
- 10:21and prioritizing moments with those close to you before they're gone.
- 10:25Running out of daylight. The Confessional is the fourth single
- 10:29from Jamerson's album The Narrow Way, expected to arrive in September.
- 10:34Candy Jenkins Cowboys for Fools. On her third single, Cowboys
- 10:38for Fools, Candy Jenkins spins a classic country waltz about
- 10:42yearning for the love of a hard working man as
- 10:44she laments how them Nashville boys, they are awfully pretty,
- 10:48they don't go writing, no whalen nor Willie Miles Miller Waitless,
- 10:54in the second single dropped this year from the Versailles
- 10:57born singer and Stergel Simpson drummer. Miles Miller's Waitless confesses
- 11:01that all life's problems carry less of a burden when
- 11:04his special someone is around elsewhere. Southeast Kentucky based bluegrass
- 11:09band The Creakers have inked a booking deal with William
- 11:12Morris Endeavour Entertainment, which also represents artists like Alan Jackson,
- 11:16Eddie Vedder and Lady Wilson. A fundraiser supporting Northern Kentucky
- 11:21musician Natt Meyer's ongoing battle with cancer raised thirty two
- 11:25hundred and ten dollars during the Laurel Co Music Festival
- 11:28in Pineville back in June, Bell County's Bill Taylor and
- 11:32the Appalachian Heathens audition for NBC's game show America's Got
- 11:37Talent air June twenty fourth. Stay tuned for updates and
- 11:41forthcoming editions of tlr's Authentic Notes. Lexington based music oriented
- 11:46talk show Red Barn Radio celebrated the airing of its
- 11:49nine hundredth episode on June eighteenth, which featured music and
- 11:54conversation with Waffle Thrett. Since its first show in two
- 11:58thousand and three, the program has gone on to feature
- 12:00musicians like Tyler Childers, Magnolia Boulevard and John R. Miller
- 12:05and Monkey's Eyebrows, Kelsey Walden, Every Ghost and Murray's S. G. Goodman.
- 12:11Planting by the Signs released new albums on June twentieth.
- 12:14Standouts from each include let It Lie and Tiger Lilies
- 12:18and Nature's Child, along with Fire Sign Now we ease
- 12:22on down the road to Savingcountry Music dot Com with
- 12:25the first article dated August nineteenth, Turnpike Troubadours impact mainstream
- 12:31radio with Heaven passing Through. We've been here before, says
- 12:36Saving Country Music, a fan favorite from the independent country
- 12:39world makes a surprising impact in the insular, archaic world
- 12:42of mainstream country radio and gets us all excited at
- 12:46the prospects. Cody Jinks attempted to impact mainstream country radio
- 12:50with his massive single Loud and Heavy, seven years after
- 12:52he released it. It made some noise and then faded
- 12:55like a whimper. In Your Love from Tyler Child's threatened
- 12:58to break out, but then stalled outside the top forty
- 13:01at number forty three. Even Mike and the Moonpies now
- 13:04Silverada sent their song Hour on the Hour for mainstream consideration.
- 13:08It never found much traction. Now. The news that Heaven
- 13:12Passing Through by the Turnpike Troubadours became the second most
- 13:15added track last week on country radio has some wondering
- 13:18if this will finally be the Oklahoma band's big mainstream
- 13:21breakout moment. The song received thirty six ads according to
- 13:25Country Aircheck, with forty one total stations adding the track
- 13:28during its first official week of impact. One thing's for sure,
- 13:32Heaven Passing Through has natural momentum and is a great song.
- 13:36Since The Turnpike Troubadour's surprise release their latest album, The
- 13:39Price of Admission, on April eleventh, having Passing Through has
- 13:43seven and a half million streams. It's clearly the most
- 13:46popular track on what many consider a landmark released from
- 13:49the band and a legitimate Album of the Year candidate
- 13:51once December rolls along. But ultimately, the quality and organic
- 13:55appeal of a song has little to do with its
- 13:58prospects on country radios country music. That has almost everything
- 14:02to do with commitment the label shows to promoting the
- 14:04track on radio that it gets on playlists. Checking this
- 14:08week's country air check, lo and behold, there's an ad
- 14:11there for the song. It's been said throughout the history
- 14:14of the Turnpike Troubadours that they make a great bridge
- 14:17between the independent and mainstream. You can't really expect your
- 14:20Luke Comb's listening friends to get clued into John Morland
- 14:24or James McMurtry and immediately become fans a Turnpike and
- 14:28a track like Heaven Passing Through can help a mainstream
- 14:31music fan make that leap. Still, let's not get too excited. Honestly,
- 14:36making a blip on the Top fifty, let alone the
- 14:38Top forty, would feel significant for the Turnpike Troubadours to
- 14:42make it to the top ten might take a miracle,
- 14:44but you never know. Around twenty twenty two or so,
- 14:47when Zach Bryan was breaking on radio and the aforementioned
- 14:51singles from Cody Jinks and Tyler Childers and others were
- 14:54being sent to the format, country radio had an opportunity
- 14:57to transition to something more representative of the actual listening
- 15:00habits of country fans. But lo and behold its Luke
- 15:03Bryan and his pearly white smile with Country Song came
- 15:06on at number one on country radio this week, despite
- 15:09the single only hitting number twenty five on the consumption
- 15:12based Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart. Other recent number ones,
- 15:17including Sam Hunt's Country House and Tyler Hubbard's Park, they
- 15:21peaked on radio with no meaningful momentum behind them. Along
- 15:24among the greater listening public, mainstream country labels and mainstream
- 15:28country radio continued to double down on simply promoting their own,
- 15:32continuing to cut live and local djays from the payrolls,
- 15:36nationalizing playlists, consolidating station ownership, and all the cut costs
- 15:40as opposed to attempting to retool the industry to current
- 15:43realities and for a more promising future, including trying to
- 15:47entice younger and more independent fans to help expand audiences.
- 15:51But who knows, maybe a single like Heaven Passing Through
- 15:54is exactly what country radio needs to open its eyes
- 15:57to the possibilities of highlighting more independent artists. Just like
- 16:01a good Turnpike Troubadour's song can turn your mainstream buddy
- 16:04onto the virtues of independent country. So perhaps Turnpike can
- 16:08be a bridge for country radio to finally start paying
- 16:11attention to the increasingly popular segment of independent country music,
- 16:15one can hope, says saving country music. Next, new unheard
- 16:21Whylan Jennings song emerges. Billboard Mystery revealed. It was announced
- 16:26on June fifteenth, which happened to be Whalen's birthday. Not one,
- 16:30not two, but three full albums of unheard Whalen Jennings
- 16:34songs were on the way. Whalen's sun Shooter has unearthed
- 16:37the trove of previously unheard Whalen Jennings's recordings and has
- 16:42gone through them to assemble them into albums. The recordings
- 16:45weren't cohesive albums at the start. They were left over
- 16:48recordings from various sessions throughout Whalen Jennings's career. The first
- 16:52installment from these albums, called song Bird, will be released
- 16:56on October third, with the title track released in June.
- 17:00The first song was Whalen's version of the Fleetwood Mac tune,
- 17:03written and sung by Christy mc bee. Now we get
- 17:06another unheard track from the upcoming album, and it's another dandy.
- 17:10The new song is called The Cowboy Small Texas Town,
- 17:13and it's taken from the same recording sessions of Whalen's
- 17:16nineteen seventy eight album I've Always Been Crazy. This is
- 17:20the same album that Whalen's Don't You Think This Outlaw
- 17:23of Bits Done Gone out of Hand came from that
- 17:26became a hit along with the title track. Whalen produced
- 17:29the sessions himself with drummer Richie Albright. The Cowboy Small
- 17:34Texas Town was written by fellow country legend Johnny Rodriguez,
- 17:38but it's the perfect composition for Whalen singing about humble
- 17:41beginnings in a small town Texas, along with referencing the
- 17:44hippies and cowboys scene that waymore stumbled upon in Austin
- 17:48after Willie Nelson convinced him to head there from Nashville.
- 17:52The song also takes a stab at the White collar criminals,
- 17:55something Whalen interfaced with regularly in the music business. The
- 17:59white crowd may be stealing anything that the law will allow,
- 18:03with a pen for a gun. They have no fun
- 18:04because they don't fit in our crazy crowd. You can
- 18:08tell that at the end of the song gets cut
- 18:10off somewhat abruptly, and is perhaps the reasons it ended
- 18:13up being cut on the house floor. But loose ends
- 18:16and all Whalen fans won't be looking this gift horse
- 18:18in the mouth. The Cowboy Small Texas Town was released
- 18:22Thursday evening Friday morning, like many new tracks are, but
- 18:25on Friday evening, a video emerged from the song that
- 18:28answers the question many Whalen fans from his hometown of
- 18:31Littlefield and beyond have been asking who is behind the
- 18:35mysterious billboards that have appeared throughout the town of six
- 18:38thousand in the Texas Panhandle. It was pretty obvious the
- 18:42answer was probably Shooter Jennings as part of the rollout
- 18:45of the new Whalen albums, But the video spills the
- 18:48beans as it's made up of footage of crews installing
- 18:51the new billboards, including one that reads I'm a cowboy
- 18:54who came here from Texas just to play you my music,
- 18:56That's all, which is one of the lines from the
- 18:59new song oh Boy. The second billboard also reads my
- 19:03long shaggy hair and the clothes that I wear don't
- 19:05fit your big fancy ball, also taken from the song.
- 19:09The video also features Waymoor's, which is a liquor store
- 19:12in Little Field operated by whale AND's young brother James
- 19:15Jenning and his wife. Anyway, the upcoming album Songbird is
- 19:20currently available for pre save or pre order now. We
- 19:24slide on over to the boot dot com with the
- 19:26first article dated August nineteenth. Jimmy Allen found libel and
- 19:30sexual assault case, must pay damages. Jimmy Allen was found
- 19:34libel for sexual assault, battery, and more charges on Monday,
- 19:37according to a Tennessee court order obtained by Rolling Stone.
- 19:42Those charges stem from twenty twenty three, when a woman
- 19:45identified as Jane Doe accused Allan of sexually assaulting her
- 19:48in Las Vegas hotel room and filming the encounter without
- 19:51her knowledge or consent. The alleged incident actually took place
- 19:55in twenty twenty two. Documents state that Allen, along with
- 19:58his corporation Aident's Day add Touring, Inc. Was found liable
- 20:02for the charges after he repeatedly failed to comply with
- 20:05deadlines and court orders. The defendants throughout have failed to
- 20:08comply with case management, discovery deadlines, and even failed to
- 20:12comply with specific orders of this court. Judge Aleta A.
- 20:15Trouger wrote per Rolling Stone, for these reasons, the plaintiff's
- 20:19motion for sanctions and judgments against defendants Jamie Allen and
- 20:23Aiden's Dad Touring, Inc. Is granted. The ruling continues, the
- 20:28singer has been judged liable for assault, battery, invasion of privacy,
- 20:31and infliction of emotional distress. Allan was found liable by default,
- 20:36which is not the same as guilty verdict. Rather, it
- 20:38means he's responsible for any potential monetary damages proved by
- 20:42the plater. The singer's pattern of missing deadlines and failing
- 20:45to respond to court orders now means that he has
- 20:48forfeited the right to defend himself against the charges, though
- 20:51he has denied all allegations in an earlier statement. In May,
- 20:55the Tennessee And reported that Allan's civil sexual astsuit trial
- 20:58was delayed because his legal team repeatedly missed court deadlines.
- 21:02The singer said that his lawyer, A Landis Brussel, was
- 21:06dealing with some health issues and that's what caused the delay.
- 21:09I've worked as well as I could, as fast as
- 21:11i could with my representation, he stated. It's not for
- 21:14me not meeting deadlines, It's because my attorney actually couldn't
- 21:17do it. But Doe's attorney, Elizabeth Fagan, said that Alan's
- 21:21litany of excuses and multiple miss deadlines re traumatized her
- 21:25client and was the tiamount to an attempt to manipulate
- 21:28the legal process to his advantage. The Jane Doe in
- 21:31this case was the second of two women who anonymously
- 21:33accused Alan of sexual assault in twenty twenty three. Her
- 21:37lawsuit states that she had a chance meeting with Alan
- 21:39on an airplane and communicated with him long distance for
- 21:42two months on the premise that he was separated from
- 21:44his then wife. She says they agreed to meet in
- 21:47Las Vegas, but she believed she was getting her own
- 21:49hotel room. Her lawsuit further claims she willingly joined him
- 21:53in his hotel room, but that he undd sex with
- 21:55her without a consent, even though she repeatedly asked him
- 21:58to stop. Her complaint came one month after the first
- 22:02Jane Doe, who identified herself as a former member of
- 22:05Allan's day to day team, filed a bombshell original suit
- 22:08saying the singer raped her and repeatedly abused and harassed
- 22:12her over an eighteen month period. Allan's first accuser dropped
- 22:15her lawsuit in March of twenty four after the two
- 22:18parties entered into a stipulation agreement. Though she's no longer
- 22:21suing Alan, she continued to press legal claims against Allan's
- 22:24former management company, Wide Open Music, and Ash Bowers, who
- 22:27heads that company. In her original filing, Dough stated that
- 22:31Bowers knew about Alan's alleged predatory behavior had did nothing
- 22:35to intervene. Next. Bill Anderson suffers freak accident fall at home.
- 22:42Bill Anderson says he's on the mend after suffering a
- 22:44freak accident. The eighty seven year old country legend canceled
- 22:48three planned appearances over the weekend, including a Saturday night
- 22:51performance at the Grand Old Opry. In a letter posted
- 22:54to his website on Monday, Anderson explained the circumstances that
- 22:58forced him to cancel his plans there was a freak
- 23:01accident where I twisted or tore some ligaments or muscles
- 23:04or something in the back of my leg trying to
- 23:06climb into bed, the singer wrote, and I fell to
- 23:08the floor, unable to walk. I was in excruciating pain.
- 23:12In addition to the Opry show, Anderson had to cancel
- 23:14planned songwriting session with fellow country great T. Graham Brown,
- 23:18as well as an appearance at the State Fair. If
- 23:21you know me, you know how much it bothers me
- 23:23to go back on my commitments that I have made,
- 23:24he writes. The good news is that the day after
- 23:27his final canceled commitment, Anderson was able to assure fans
- 23:30that he's on the men. I appreciate your concern, but
- 23:33I'm here to let you know that I'm fine. Known
- 23:36as Whisper and Bill for his soft spoken singing voice,
- 23:39Anderson has found success in mainstream country music since the
- 23:42late nineteen fifties. In July, the singer marked the major
- 23:46milestone who became the longest serving member of the Grand
- 23:49Old Opry. Now we move on to the North Madison
- 23:53Neighbor magazine the August edition, with some upcoming concerts in background.

- 26:07in Kentucky. Thunder will be at Renfro Valley in the
- 26:10New Barn at seven point thirty. Fifteen Time Grammy Award
- 26:13winner Ricky Skagg's career is easily among the most significant
- 26:17in recent country music history. If Skagg's large trophy case
- 26:21full of awards wasn't already evidence of that fact, consider
- 26:24the legendary guitarist chedd Ekins once credited Skaggs with single
- 26:28handedly saving country music. His life's path has taken him
- 26:31to various musical genres, from bluegrass music to striking out
- 26:35on her new musical journey while still leaving his musical
- 26:38roots intact. Born in Cordell, Kentucky, Skaggs showed signs of
- 26:42future stardom at an early age, playing mandolin on stage
