- 0:00Hey there, welcome back to She Speaks Live podcast.
- 0:03I am so excited you are here listening to the solo episode
- 0:08that I'm going to be teaching us on.
- 0:10That's going to shift the way we see our walk with God, not as
- 0:14something that we're striving to achieve, but something that we
- 0:20are already living from in Christ.
- 0:23Because there's so many believers that are asking God
- 0:27for really what he has already placed in them when scripture
- 0:31reveals that in Christ, we are already fully supplied.
- 0:37So today I want to anchor us in a powerful truth from Colossians
- 0:42chapter 2. In the previous solo episode, I
- 0:46walked us through chapter one. This is chapter 2.
- 0:49And I really believe if you hear this, it will begin to reframe
- 0:54how you approach your faith, your calling, and and your daily
- 0:58life. So let's start out with
- 1:01Colossians 2 verses 9 through 10.
- 1:05It says for in Christ all the fullness of the deity lives in
- 1:10bodily form, and in Christ you have been brought to fullness.
- 1:16He is the head over every power and authority.
- 1:20Another translation puts it this way.
- 1:23You have everything when you have Christ, and you are filled
- 1:28with God through your union with Christ.
- 1:33We see this powerful truth that when we have Christ we have
- 1:37everything. Through our union with Christ we
- 1:41are filled with God. That means there is never a
- 1:44moment when we are lacking or coming up empty because all
- 1:49fullness is found in Christ. So no matter what we face, we do
- 1:55not have to be overwhelmed because in Him we already
- 1:59possessed everything needed to overcome every opposition.
- 2:06Victory is not something. I know you've heard this, but
- 2:10victory is not something we are trying to earn.
- 2:13It already belongs to us in Christ.
- 2:16So let's look at the word fullness.
- 2:20You know me, I love to break down some of these Greek, some
- 2:24of these words into Greek. And this fullness word in Greek
- 2:28is pleuroma. It means completeness, totality,
- 2:34nothing lacking the sum of everything needed.
- 2:37So when Scripture says the fullness of God dwells in
- 2:42Christ, it's saying everything God is is fully in Jesus.
- 2:47And then Paul makes an even more shocking statement.
- 2:51He says you have been brought into that fullness.
- 2:56So let's sit with this. Everything God designed,
- 3:01dreamed, and purpose for His children, he placed in Christ.
- 3:06Then, in a divine exchange of grace, he placed Christ in US,
- 3:11and us in Christ. That means your life is not
- 3:14something God is trying to patch together.
- 3:17You're not a project in progress that God is still trying to
- 3:22complete. No, you are someone who has been
- 3:24placed inside fullness. The phrase in Christ in the
- 3:30Greek is in Christo and it speaks of union, location,
- 3:36identity, shared life. This means your life is not
- 3:40separate from Christ, it is inside Christ.
- 3:44So when God looks at you, he's not looking at insufficiency,
- 3:49He's looking at your position in his Son.
- 3:54And then Paul continues and says he, Jesus, is the head over
- 3:58every power and authority. That word authority in Greek is
- 4:02exucia, meaning ruling power, delegated control, spiritual
- 4:08force, governing influence. So what Paul's saying is this,
- 4:14Jesus is not only our Savior, but He is ruler over every
- 4:19competing power. So what does the world try to
- 4:24compete? It tries to compete with us by
- 4:27the enemy, bringing fear, by bringing anxiety, depression,
- 4:32confusion, lack, sickness, oppression.
- 4:35These are all attacks by the enemy, but they have no
- 4:39authority whatsoever in our life.
- 4:42They are under His authority, which means they are under our
- 4:47position in Him. So let's make this personal.
- 4:52So there have been moments in my own life where I felt like I was
- 4:56behind, behind in my calling, behind in, in clarity.
- 5:00I just felt like I was behind, like I wasn't doing enough.
- 5:04And I'm sure you've got your own thing.
- 5:07Maybe you can relate to that too.
- 5:09You know, you feel like you're praying, but it feels like
- 5:11you're still lacking something to finally step into what God is
- 5:17calling you to or what God has for you.
- 5:19And I love how Colossians 2 is completely correcting that
- 5:23mindset. It it's not saying, oh, you will
- 5:27have everything someday when you grow enough.
- 5:29No, it is saying in Christ you already have everything you need
- 5:34to walk out God's will. That means the issue is not the
- 5:39supply, it's not the source. The issue is awareness.
- 5:44It's recognizing it and then it's receiving everything that
- 5:48you have already inherited. Your heritage, everything that
- 5:52you have inherited in Christ is yours.
- 5:56You just need to acknowledge it and be aware and walk in it.
- 6:01So I believe that most believers think they have a faith problem,
- 6:05but often what really is at play is an identity problem.
- 6:09Because when you don't know who you are in Christ, faith feels
- 6:14like striving, prayer feels like you're begging, obedience feels
- 6:20like pressure. But when you know who you are in
- 6:24Christ and what you've already inherited by the death and
- 6:29resurrection of Jesus on the cross and and what he did for
- 6:34us. But when you know who you are in
- 6:36Christ, faith becomes response, prayer becomes communion,
- 6:43obedience becomes overflow. You stop trying to get God to to
- 6:48move for you and you start living from the reality that he
- 6:53already lives in you. So you do your part.
- 6:58You be the doer, not just the hearer of the word, and act out
- 7:02in obedience to what he is calling you to.
- 7:07So I want to take you to the Galatians 220.
- 7:09It says it is no longer I who live, but Christ that lives in
- 7:13me. That means the Christian, not
- 7:16life, is not this self improvement like I'm trying to
- 7:20get better on my own. No, it's not me trying to become
- 7:25strong enough for God. It's learning to yield to the
- 7:29strength of the one that is already in me.
- 7:32So let's go to Colossians 26 through seven.
- 7:35It says just as you received Christ Jesus, Jesus says Lord,
- 7:38continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him.
- 7:44That word rooted paints a picture of the stability.
- 7:49Roots don't panic during storms. They don't relocate when weather
- 7:54changes. They draw life constantly from
- 7:57what they are planted in. So the question is not how do I
- 8:01get more of God? The question is, am I staying
- 8:06rooted in what I already have in Him?
- 8:09Because nourishment is not coming from striving, it's
- 8:13coming from that abiding. And how do we abide?
- 8:16It's that fellowship. It's the communion with Him.
- 8:20It's His word and praise and worship.
- 8:23That is all. How we can get our roots to get
- 8:27down deep and wide at. So as believers, we are not
- 8:31called to be dominated by what is seen.
- 8:34We are called to live from what is unseen, already finished.
- 8:39Faith is not denial of reality. It's agreement with with God.
- 8:45So when God says you are complete in Christ, you lack
- 8:49nothing. You have been filled in him and
- 8:52faith says I will live like that is true even before I see a
- 8:56manifest in fact, in Romans it says call those things which are
- 9:01not as though they were. That is faith.
- 9:05That is confession. This is This is why confession
- 9:08matters, not as this performance or showy thing, but it is coming
- 9:14into alignment. So you begin to speak.
- 9:17I am in Christ, I am complete in Him, I am supplied in Him.
- 9:23Christ lives through me. You are not trying to convince
- 9:28God, you are reminding your soul of the truth.
- 9:32So let's jump to Colossians 29 again.
- 9:35It says in Christ all the fullness of deity lives in
- 9:39bodily form. Fullness again is pleuroma,
- 9:43meaning nothing partial, nothing lacking, nothing reduced.
- 9:48Jesus is not a representation of God, He is full revelation of
- 9:54God. And then Paul says you have been
- 9:57filled in him. The word filled comes from
- 10:00pleuro, meaning to make complete, to fully supply, to
- 10:05bring the fullness. So the same fullness that lives
- 10:08in Christ is the fullness that now supplies your life.
- 10:14So this absolutely changes everything.
- 10:16You are not trying to become victorious.
- 10:20You are learning to live from victory.
- 10:23You are not fighting for identity, you are fighting from
- 10:27your identity in Christ. You are not asking God to make
- 10:31you enough. You are discovering that you are
- 10:34already complete in Him. So if fullness is already given,
- 10:41what blocks us? Not God's withholding, but often
- 10:46distraction, unbelief, identity, confusion, dependence on self,
- 10:52effort. Because anything that pulls your
- 10:54attention away from Christ will weaken your awareness of what
- 10:59you already carry. That's why Paul warns against
- 11:02philosophies and human reasoning that diminish Christ in this
- 11:08chapter to of Colossians, because anything that reduces
- 11:13Jesus in your view will reduce faith and confidence in your
- 11:17life with him. So let's jump to Philippians 413
- 11:22and it says I can do all things through Christ who strengthens
- 11:25me. That strength is not just this
- 11:28effort power, it is relational strength.
- 11:32The more you know Him, the more you rely on Him.
- 11:36Spiritual strength is not produced by pressure, it's
- 11:40produced by proximity, by Him. By being in Christ, you're
- 11:46drawing on His strength. He is the source of the
- 11:50strength. So let's jump into Hebrews 416.
- 11:54It says, let us come boldly to the throne of grace.
- 11:58This is a reminder that you are not approaching God as some
- 12:01stranger. You are coming as a child who
- 12:03belongs. Access is not this occasional
- 12:07thing. It is constant.
- 12:09You're always welcome in his presence.
- 12:11You're always invited. It's access that produces that
- 12:16stability in our soul, in our lives.
- 12:20So I want to take us before we close to Isaiah 4817.
- 12:24It says I am the Lord your God, who teaches you to prop, who
- 12:28leads you in the way you should go.
- 12:31You know, God has a specific plan for each of our lives and
- 12:37only He can lead us into that plan.
- 12:39We cannot depend on others to define our purpose or author our
- 12:44future. God alone is the author of his
- 12:48plan for us. When scripture says he teaches
- 12:51us to profit, it's not merely Speaking of finances.
- 12:56Actually, in the Hebrew the word for profit carries the meaning
- 13:00of advancing, ascending, excelling, gaining ground, and
- 13:06rising above circumstances. This reveals God's heart for His
- 13:11children. He never attended for us to
- 13:14remain where we have been. There's always more growth, more
- 13:19maturity, more assignments with Him, more advancement, more
- 13:23increase, always more with Him. And as believers, we should live
- 13:28with an expectation of this continual increase in our walk
- 13:33with God. Always moving forward, always
- 13:36laying hold of more. God said in Joshua 1/3 Every
- 13:41place the sole of your foot shall tread upon that have I
- 13:46given unto you another words. He is Speaking of progress,
- 13:51expansion, development, and advancement.
- 13:54In the plan of God. We are never meant to stagnate
- 13:58or run out. His purpose for our lives is
- 14:01full, rich, and overflowing. One of the primary ways we move
- 14:05forward in that plan is through faith.
- 14:08Faith is how we follow Him into greater things.
- 14:12Our faith should always be growing, Paul said in Second
- 14:15Thessalonians 1/3. He says your faith grows
- 14:19exceedingly. If our faith is not growing,
- 14:23then our spiritual life is not developing.
- 14:27But when our spiritual life is flourishing, our faith will
- 14:31increase because we cannot move without God.
- 14:35Apart from faith. Faith is really what pleases
- 14:39God. We can have lives filled with
- 14:41good works and the right behavior.
- 14:43And while those things matter, it is faith that truly pleases
- 14:48him. God is really He's not difficult
- 14:51to please. He asks for a faith.
- 14:54Even more amazing is that he supplies the faith we need.
- 14:58He gives it to us. We receive it, we make it our
- 15:02own. We live in it, we abide in it,
- 15:04we live by it, we walk in faith. And then and he is pleased and
- 15:09rewards us. I mean, it's truly a win win.
- 15:12So if we are going to profit, advance, rise higher in the
- 15:16things of God, our faith must continue to grow.
- 15:19God will teach us to advance, but that advancement will always
- 15:24be led by faith. So let's personalize the
- 15:29Scripture verse. So let's go back to the
- 15:33Scripture verse of Colossians 2, nine through 10.
- 15:39And it says, for in Christ there is all of God and a human body.
- 15:42So you have everything when you have Christ, and you are filled
- 15:46with God through your union with Christ.
- 15:49He is the highest ruler with authority over every power.
- 15:55So let's personalize this. This is all coming out of my
- 15:59Serenity journal where you can go in there.
- 16:02You can personalize scripture verses.
- 16:04You can put your name inside a verse.
- 16:06You can put I, my or me. You could put your spouse's
- 16:10name. You can put your kids name in
- 16:12there. It's just to take heed the truth
- 16:15and make it personal to you. So verse 9 it says for in Christ
- 16:21there is all of God and a human body.
- 16:25So instead of you you say, so I have everything when I have
- 16:31Christ and I am filled with God through my union with Christ.
- 16:37He is the highest ruler with authority over every other
- 16:43power. So let's go over everything that
- 16:47I have just shared with you today.
- 16:49In Christ, you are not lacking. In Christ, you are not waiting
- 16:54to become complete. In Christ, you are not
- 16:57undersupplied. In Christ you are fully filled.
- 17:01In Christ, you are fully positioned.
- 17:04In Christ, you are fully united in Him.
- 17:08The question is not whether God has given it.
- 17:10The question is whether you are living aware of it, recognizing
- 17:15it, and receiving it as yours because it is yours.
- 17:19It's your inheritance. It's what He has freely given to
- 17:23you. So today I want you to declare
- 17:27this of your life. So let's let's just say this out
- 17:30loud together. I am in Christ.
- 17:33I am complete in Him. I lack nothing that He has not
- 17:38already supplied. Christ lives in me and I will
- 17:42live from fullness, not emptiness.
- 17:46So if this has encouraged you, let me know.
