- 0:41Sean McAllister: Take some notes.
- 0:42Dayna Roselli: It's a long list.
- 0:44Dayna Roselli: All this coming up on Vegas Reveal.
- 0:46SPEAKER_06: Vegas Revealed, presented by Galindo Law, starts now.
- 0:51Dayna Roselli: It is episode 300 of Vegas Revealed.
- 0:54Dayna Roselli: Dana Roselli and Sean McAllister here with you, ready to celebrate 300 with a lot of good content and a lot of good conversation.
- 1:02Dayna Roselli: But first, a big thank you.
- 1:04Sean McAllister: A huge thank you to all of you uh who've been listening since the very beginning.
- 1:08Sean McAllister: Back when uh we started the podcast in the the studio over at the Venetian, and then of course COVID hit and we had to move to our own uh to our own spaces.
- 1:19Sean McAllister: We did.
- 1:20Sean McAllister: Uh but for all of you who've been listening for uh these past six years, thank you so much.
- 1:25Sean McAllister: If you've picked up along the way, we absolutely appreciate that just as much.
- 1:31Sean McAllister: And I think the only thing that we would ask is if there's one person that you could tell about the Vegas Revealed podcast, we would appreciate just each of you just sharing it with one person.
- 1:42Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that would mean a lot.
- 1:43Dayna Roselli: And and I have one other ask maybe give us a score if you listen on Apple, because like a five stars or a comment, because we do have a lot of great reviews on there, and it's awesome, but sometimes after everyone kind of does that, it goes flat for a little while.
- 2:00Dayna Roselli: And you we need to kind of stay in the algorithm.
- 2:02Dayna Roselli: So if you could leave us a review, we would appreciate it.
- 2:05Dayna Roselli: Um, we love all the reviews, we love reading them, and we have appreciated everything that you've contributed to this show, including we want to give a big shout out to our subscribers who have uh monthly helped us out, especially when we first started the podcast and supported us all along the way because they loved what we were doing and wanted us to keep going.
- 2:26Dayna Roselli: If it weren't for them, you know, to get through some of the ups and downs, I don't know if we'd be here today.
- 2:31Dayna Roselli: So thank you.
- 2:32Sean McAllister: Yeah, I mean, that was instrumental and still is in what we do and how we do and why we do.
- 2:39Sean McAllister: So thank you, thank you, thank you.
- 2:42Sean McAllister: As we uh launch into episode 300.
- 2:45Dayna Roselli: I know, and then pretty soon we'll be heading into season seven.
- 2:48Dayna Roselli: So we're getting ready for that.
- 2:50Dayna Roselli: Um, we have a lot of things to talk about.
- 2:52Dayna Roselli: I know you were saying earlier you saw all the bubbles in my coming out of my head, like as I keep thinking of, oh, we gotta talk about this, we gotta talk about that.
- 2:58Dayna Roselli: I did want to mention I went to the NBA Cup, the semifinal game over at T-Mobile Arena um Saturday, and it was great.
- 3:06Dayna Roselli: The the arena was packed.
- 3:08Dayna Roselli: It's so much fun to watch basketball live.
- 3:10Dayna Roselli: Man, those guys are tall.
- 3:12Dayna Roselli: It's amazing.
- 3:13Dayna Roselli: We had amazing seats thanks to our friends at Brand Bomb PR.
- 3:17Dayna Roselli: Um, they set us up because we knew we wanted to get some video for the TV show and be able to talk about it.
- 3:22Dayna Roselli: And they uh were great seats.
- 3:24Dayna Roselli: We sat behind Ja Rule.
- 3:26SPEAKER_03: Oh, look at you.
- 3:27Dayna Roselli: I know, right?
- 3:28Dayna Roselli: Um, well, he was like, because we were in like the front row and he was in like a little section that was court.
- 3:33SPEAKER_03: Set on the floor, right?
- 3:34SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 3:35Dayna Roselli: And um, so anyway, he was there, a lot of people there, actually.
- 3:38Dayna Roselli: Um, lots of different, you know, basketball stars from the past, some retired.
- 3:43Dayna Roselli: It was a wonderful event.
- 3:44Dayna Roselli: Um, they always put on such a great show and as well because they have the hype team there.
- 3:49Dayna Roselli: And I think it was the Oklahoma Thunder had like um uh their their like drum core kind of hype team there as well.
- 3:56Dayna Roselli: So great stuff.
- 3:57Dayna Roselli: They had the quick change folks at halftime.
- 4:00Dayna Roselli: Is it what they call it halftime in basketball?
- 4:03Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I guess so.
- 4:04Dayna Roselli: You know, the the would they be a magician illusionist where they change outfits real quick and they pull up the curtain and then pull it down?
- 4:10Dayna Roselli: So it was some good entertainment job.
- 4:12Dayna Roselli: Rule was loving it, by the way.
- 4:13Dayna Roselli: He had his phone out, was putting it up on his Instagram stories.
- 4:17Dayna Roselli: Anyway, it was a great game, down to the buzzer.
- 4:20Dayna Roselli: You know, score was you know in the hundreds.
- 4:22Dayna Roselli: And so um Spurs at San Antonio Spurs actually won.
- 4:26Dayna Roselli: And, you know, by the time this podcast airs, the Spurs will have now played the New York Knicks and and then we'll have a winner of the cup, but it's the the Emirates Cup.
- 4:35Dayna Roselli: And this is the third year that they returned.
- 4:37Dayna Roselli: So we like having the NBA here, and maybe one day we'll have our own team.
- 4:41Sean McAllister: Well, and we've have a good relationship with the NBA here.
- 4:44Sean McAllister: We host the NBA Summer League every single year where we uh get a look at the uh the new players who are joining the joining the league, and you get to recognize some of the names that you're gonna be seeing, and now having the NBA Cup here for uh so many years already and continuing on uh into the future.
- 5:05Sean McAllister: And yeah, like you said, I mean, uh I don't think that uh a Las Vegas NBA team is too far off in the future.
- 5:15Dayna Roselli: I know that would be really cool.
- 5:16Dayna Roselli: Um, and we do have you know the ACEs, a W NBA team, so it only makes sense.
- 5:21Sean McAllister: Incredible.
- 5:22Dayna Roselli: I know we just keep winning.
- 5:23Sean McAllister: So Asia Wilson uh just uh was uh Time magazine's athlete of the year.
- 5:29Dayna Roselli: Great.
- 5:30Dayna Roselli: Anyway, you had something else to say.
- 5:31Sean McAllister: Uh oh no, I was just double checking.
- 5:34Dayna Roselli: Okay, you were double checking.
- 5:35Sean McAllister: To make sure that Asia was actually the I wanted to get the title right.
- 5:38unknown: Yeah.
- 5:39Sean McAllister: I wanted to make sure that she was uh overall athlete of the year, and she is.
- 5:44Dayna Roselli: Uh that is one thing that we do is we always and I know we always say it, but that's what we uh really pride ourselves on is trying to get everything super accurate.
- 5:54Dayna Roselli: In a world feel full of whatever rumors, gossip, misinformation.
- 6:00Dayna Roselli: We do really work hard here on Vegas Revealed to get everything right.
- 6:03Dayna Roselli: So sometimes we do pause and Google, and we started to just leave it in the show.
- 6:07Sean McAllister: We try and bring the receipts, proof, timeline, screenshots, everything.
- 6:13Dayna Roselli: It bothers us though.
- 6:14Dayna Roselli: Like sometimes we'll record something and we'll go back and edit.
- 6:16Dayna Roselli: And I'm like, ah, I should have said that, you know, this in front of it.
- 6:20Dayna Roselli: Like, you know, we were talking about the TV show about how I went to the NBA Cup, and then I was like, you know, I know the the Las Vegas Aces play there too.
- 6:28Dayna Roselli: What I meant was they have played there many times, but they don't play there regularly.
- 6:32Sean McAllister: No, they're in Mandalay Bay for most games, and even that bothered me.
- 6:36Dayna Roselli: I was like, ah, you know, the people are gonna think I, you know, I get worried about that stuff, but it's our it's our journalism background.
- 6:42Sean McAllister: It is.
- 6:43Dayna Roselli: Um, okay, so that was great.
- 6:44Dayna Roselli: I had a great time.
- 6:45Dayna Roselli: Big shout out to everyone at T-Mobile Arena.
- 6:48Dayna Roselli: I just want to point out um that the staff there, my friends and I were both talking about this.
- 6:53Dayna Roselli: And really, just from the minute you walk in the door, they are so friendly, so helpful.
- 6:59Dayna Roselli: They're like, have a great time, have fun from the concessions, people who just are there to help as you exit.
- 7:07Dayna Roselli: I just think it's such a great experience.
- 7:09Dayna Roselli: I sent out a um something on Twitter, and some uh a few people responded, like, that's how they are at UFC games too.
- 7:16Dayna Roselli: And oh yeah, the people up in the high lounge during, you know, Golden Knights games are great too.
- 7:19Dayna Roselli: And like, it seems like they constantly uh, you know, are making a difference and making an impact on people who go to T Mobile.
- 7:26Dayna Roselli: And I feel like that's that's so wonderful in a in a hospitality and tourism town.
- 7:31Dayna Roselli: The the folks at T Mobile were trained and are just or when they were interviewed, really, you know, wanted the job and and were gonna be happy doing it because they they spread the cheer, man.
- 7:43Sean McAllister: They certainly do.
- 7:44Sean McAllister: And I know from uh personal conversations that uh several of the bartenders at T Mobile Arena listened to Vegas Revealed also.
- 7:54Dayna Roselli: Oh, good.
- 7:54Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 7:55Sean McAllister: We appreciate you all, and I love how at the end of an event, how uh so many of the the ushers and the greeters who are there at at T Mobile stand in the lobby and wave to you.
- 8:07Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 8:08Sean McAllister: Thank you for coming.
- 8:09Dayna Roselli: It's it's great.
- 8:10Sean McAllister: Like that's good hospitality.
- 8:12Dayna Roselli: It really, really was.
- 8:14Dayna Roselli: And I just really took note the other day because I think we weren't rushed going for once, or like, and like, you know, I just felt like I really just took note of how kind everyone was.
- 8:26Dayna Roselli: So good job, everyone that works at T-Mobile, everyone who hired those folks at T Mobile.
- 8:31Dayna Roselli: Uh it's an excellent experience, and it would definitely make me want to come back again.
- 8:35Sean McAllister: Well, a little bit of kindness goes a long way, doesn't it?
- 8:38Dayna Roselli: It really does.
- 8:39Dayna Roselli: And by the way, when I was leaving that night, we were in Valet, and I was just thinking Park MGM was packed again.
- 8:44Dayna Roselli: It was Mariah Carey's last Christmas show.
- 8:47Sean McAllister: Oh, right.
- 8:48Dayna Roselli: And apparently she came out and she was like signing some autographs and stuff.
- 8:52Dayna Roselli: I love like, you know, you find everything on TikTok.
- 8:55Dayna Roselli: If you miss anything, and I saw someone on TikTok say, Oh my gosh, I'm like literally like leaving my hotel or whatever or coming into my hotel, and there's Mimi.
- 9:05Dayna Roselli: And they were so excited, the Queen of Christmas.
- 9:08Dayna Roselli: And so, um, but she did her show live on TikTok on Saturday night.
- 9:13Dayna Roselli: She was promoting it, and um, people really enjoyed that.
- 9:16Dayna Roselli: And I love it.
- 9:17Dayna Roselli: Like, why not give people an experience, you know, if they can't get there.
- 9:21Sean McAllister: Yeah, absolutely.
- 9:23Sean McAllister: And I Rihanna uh popped up at um Mariah's show over there as well.
- 9:28Sean McAllister: But that's pretty cool that Mariah was out there just at valet, yeah, with a whole bunch of people around her saying, Mariah, Mariah, take a selfie, sign an autograph.
- 9:39Sean McAllister: And she was doing it.
- 9:40Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 9:41Dayna Roselli: Yeah, she's great.
- 9:42Dayna Roselli: I don't know exactly if it was right in valet, but like at the exit, she was waiting for a car or something.
- 9:47Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 9:47Dayna Roselli: Also, quick shout out to Anna at Valet at Park MGM.
- 9:51Dayna Roselli: She's awesome.
- 9:52Dayna Roselli: I've seen her two weekends in a row, and I love her.
- 9:55Dayna Roselli: So FYI.
- 9:56Dayna Roselli: I mean, this is just gonna be a full podcast of shout-outs.
- 9:59Dayna Roselli: Who else?
- 9:59Sean McAllister: Hey, you know what?
- 10:00Sean McAllister: I think that's a good thing to do.
- 10:01Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 10:02Sean McAllister: For a milestone podcast.
- 10:03Sean McAllister: Just show a bunch of appreciation to everybody.
- 10:06Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 10:07Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 10:08Dayna Roselli: It's episode 300.
- 10:09Dayna Roselli: Why not?
- 10:10Sean McAllister: You know who else uh we're appreciative of is uh Cliff Atkinson.
- 10:15Sean McAllister: He was uh the president of Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.
- 10:20Sean McAllister: We recently sat down and uh did a really uh in-depth, wide-ranging uh in interview uh with him.
- 10:28Sean McAllister: You may have seen that if you watch the Vegas Revealed TV episodes on our YouTube channel.
- 10:35Sean McAllister: We have not shared that entire uh interview here on the audio podcast yet, uh because there have been some changes.
- 10:43Dayna Roselli: Well, yeah, and and the thing is is everyone's had a chance to talk about it, but and then we had recorded last week's podcast with that interview in it, but we felt just as it was about to drop, we didn't have a minute to we felt like it needed some context now.
- 10:56SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 10:57Dayna Roselli: Um, because Cliff did part ways with Virgin.
- 11:00Dayna Roselli: Our interview ran on television here in Las Vegas on Fox Five on a Sunday night, and then we found out that that Cliff had parted ways on that Tuesday.
- 11:10Dayna Roselli: Um, and so we were like, oh my goodness, well, the interview just ran, but also we did want to add some context.
- 11:16Dayna Roselli: First of all, we did that interview three weeks prior to when it aired, right?
- 11:19Dayna Roselli: But we take some time and then we knew we were going off to Thanksgiving, and then we could edit it together.
- 11:24Dayna Roselli: Ended up um, you know, and we just kind of chopped out some of the stuff that I don't know, if there was a noise and we stopped for a minute or whatever.
- 11:31Dayna Roselli: Um, turned out to be about a seven and a half minute interview.
- 11:34Dayna Roselli: It is on our YouTube channel.
- 11:36Dayna Roselli: Um, we didn't know Cliff was parting ways.
- 11:39Dayna Roselli: We certainly hope our interview didn't add to any of that.
- 11:42Dayna Roselli: And we kind of not joked, but said, Oh boy.
- 11:46Dayna Roselli: Um, and and I do plan to reach out to Cliff at some point, but I also know that when you part ways, um, and there's contracts.
- 11:54Dayna Roselli: We've been in the TV business for a long time.
- 11:56Dayna Roselli: And when it's happened to us, whether it was our choice or not our choice, when everyone tries to reach out for comment, we know you just can't talk about it.
- 12:04Sean McAllister: You can't talk about it.
- 12:05Sean McAllister: It can be very overwhelming too.
- 12:07Sean McAllister: It can be because there are a lot of people who reach out all at once.
- 12:11Sean McAllister: Right.
- 12:11Sean McAllister: And so, you know, sometimes you just need to step back and take a beat and yes, let things be.
- 12:19Dayna Roselli: But um, we look forward to to hearing where Cliff ends up.
- 12:23Dayna Roselli: Clip Cliff was telling us that he loves Las Vegas, he loves raising his family here in Las Vegas.
- 12:28Dayna Roselli: Um, he had you know went over to Virgin I think uh like two years prior and uh made some good changes that we we thought they were good changes, you know, because it's a property that has a reputation for being the hard rock.
- 12:42Dayna Roselli: And it's not the hard rock.
- 12:44Dayna Roselli: And so it's been a little bit of a struggle to get feet in the door and um people hitting the casino floor, and he talked to us about that, and they just had like the Kiss Cruise weekend where they had KISS there all weekend, they had Meg and Moroni there.
- 12:59Dayna Roselli: Um, and that was sold out like two nights in a row, and he was excited about all the changes that were coming, and he was hoping to bring back a center bar, he's called it off-center bar because it's a little off-center.
- 13:10Dayna Roselli: Um, and that's what the hard rock was known for.
- 13:13Dayna Roselli: So um unfortunately, that may still be going on in the background, we don't know, but that was kind of his vision.
- 13:21Sean McAllister: Yeah, and I think uh for judging, I don't know, from an outsider's perspective, I think that that Cliff was kind of taking things in the right direction.
- 13:31Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 13:31Sean McAllister: I mean, because when uh the Virgin hotels opened, there was one uh operator who ran the hotel side of things, there was another uh operator who ran the casino.
- 13:44Sean McAllister: And when you have multiple operators at a single property, sometimes it doesn't feel like a cohesive uh thing.
- 13:51SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 13:52Sean McAllister: And under Cliff's leadership, he kind of brought everything back to one uh operator running the place.
- 13:59Sean McAllister: And so that's why it was exciting to see what kind of changes he was going to make and planned on making, because that's when you have the real opportunity to push some things forward.
- 14:10Dayna Roselli: And I think he had a a vision, but um it was very hands-on yeah, hands-on too.
- 14:15Dayna Roselli: I know pe we just ran into two people that said actually, I got a well, I didn't tell you, I got a message from someone who works there and said loved working for Cliff.
- 14:22Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 14:22Dayna Roselli: Um, and then we just ran into uh someone that does work there that we know that felt feels the same way.
- 14:28Dayna Roselli: And I think Cliff was telling us that 20% of the workforce at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas used it's like from the hard rock days.
- 14:36SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 14:37Dayna Roselli: So, you know, they're still there, and and um obviously it just shows that you know, a large amount of the employees are still there today.
- 14:46Dayna Roselli: They enjoy working there.
- 14:47Sean McAllister: When dedicated to the property and its success, which is it's great to see that loyalty.
- 14:52Sean McAllister: Yeah, you don't see that every every day.
- 14:54Dayna Roselli: So we won't play the whole interview um because some of it certain just kind of doesn't make sense anymore.
- 15:00Dayna Roselli: Yeah, he's not a clean old Cliff Atkinson, is is he was the president of Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.
- 15:05Dayna Roselli: Uh, he's not anymore.
- 15:06Dayna Roselli: By the way, before that, he was at Mandarin.
- 15:08Dayna Roselli: That's why he came out 13 years ago.
- 15:10Dayna Roselli: He was at Mandarin Hotels.
- 15:11Dayna Roselli: He said he was a luxury hotel guy.
- 15:13Dayna Roselli: Um, and then he learned, you know, more about gaming when he went over to Luxor.
- 15:18Dayna Roselli: And then he was at Fountain Blue for a while uh before it opened for a short period, actually, I should say.
- 15:23Dayna Roselli: And then now Virgin.
- 15:25Dayna Roselli: So we do look forward to hearing where he's gonna end up.
- 15:27Dayna Roselli: But let's play a little section of that interview.
- 15:29Dayna Roselli: Um, because just what we've just discussed, um, I think this portion of it kind of explains how he runs things and the kind of president of a hotel casino that he is.
- 15:41Dayna Roselli: But I ran into you on like a Friday night or a Saturday night, a Saturday night, and you were like, I'm here because we have a big show at the theater.
- 15:48Dayna Roselli: And that was when I was like, hey, can I interview you?
- 15:50Dayna Roselli: And you were like, email me.
- 15:52Dayna Roselli: So I love that you're just very accessible.
- 15:54Dayna Roselli: Is that how you envision running this property?
- 15:56Dayna Roselli: Is being pretty hands-on?
- 15:58SPEAKER_06: Absolutely.
- 15:59SPEAKER_06: I I I learned again from the old school, and I think just the way the town's evolved with how casinos are now owned and operated now, we're a little different.
- 16:07SPEAKER_06: And I can count on uh one hand, the you know, the people that I really respect right now.
- 16:12SPEAKER_06: Michael Gunn at South Point, Derek Stevens at Circa, my friend Jonathan Jostle at the Plaza.
- 16:18SPEAKER_06: These guys, Patrick at the Rio, these guys we're on the floor.
- 16:21SPEAKER_06: We're on the floor with our customers, and that's the way we learned, and and I and I think that's different.
- 16:27SPEAKER_06: And I think it's a way um to tell our customers how important you are.
- 16:30SPEAKER_06: We need to be there with our team members, our customers.
- 16:33SPEAKER_06: Like, that's that's that's how our hotels operate.
- 16:35SPEAKER_06: So you have to love the business, you have to eat, sleep, and breathe it.
- 16:38SPEAKER_06: You can't look at it on just on a spreadsheet.
- 16:41SPEAKER_06: You you have to be in it, and uh, and that's that's how I like to operate.
- 16:45SPEAKER_06: I have an incredible team here.
- 16:47SPEAKER_06: 20% of our of our team members have been here since day one of the hard rock.
- 16:51SPEAKER_06: And so that's my mission is them.
- 16:53SPEAKER_06: My mission is our 1800 team members.
- 16:56SPEAKER_06: Uh, when I get up every day, it's it's to not only provide jobs and a livelihood, but also a purpose.
- 17:01Sean McAllister: Well, it was great to have that conversation with Cliff.
- 17:05Sean McAllister: We absolutely wish him and his family all the best.
- 17:09Sean McAllister: And it will, as you mentioned, Dana, be exciting to see where Cliff ends up because he's a good guy.
- 17:14Dayna Roselli: Yeah, he really is.
- 17:16Dayna Roselli: And we appreciate any head of a casino giving us an opportunity and giving us that much time to spend with them to do an interview.
- 17:24Dayna Roselli: We love that stuff because, you know, it's rare.
- 17:27Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 17:28Dayna Roselli: And so we like to have little things that are different than other people.
- 17:31Dayna Roselli: So instead of the same old, same old, you know, really be able to ask and and be open and free about it.
- 17:37Dayna Roselli: So anyway, like Sean said, we look forward to hearing where Cliff ends up.
- 17:41Dayna Roselli: But let's talk Michelin guide now.
- 17:43Sean McAllister: Yeah, so the Michelin guide, you hear about this in the the culinary world, you know, you hear, oh, this restaurant is a a Michelin star restaurant.
- 17:53Sean McAllister: Um, that means that it's like first of all, the the cuisine that they present is very elevated.
- 18:00Sean McAllister: But in addition to that, it's like a consistent uh uh level of service, presentation, everything.
- 18:08Sean McAllister: Right.
- 18:09Sean McAllister: And they've just announced uh that the Michelin guide is coming out to the southwest portion of the United States, which of course includes uh Las Vegas.
- 18:19Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 18:20Dayna Roselli: So I guess it covers the states of Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, and New Mexico and Utah.
- 18:24Dayna Roselli: And obviously Las Vegas has so many top-notch restaurants, but this really changes the game.
- 18:30Dayna Roselli: And we were talking with a chef here in Las Vegas who was saying, you know, it's gonna be interesting because like you just mentioned, it's it's really all about consistency.
- 18:40Dayna Roselli: And I I didn't know that.
- 18:41Dayna Roselli: I thought, I thought, ooh, you get a visit from Michelin and that particular day needs to be top of the line.
- 18:48Dayna Roselli: It's like, no, no, no, no, no.
- 18:50Dayna Roselli: They can pop in several times at any time, and it really has to do with the consistency.
- 18:56Dayna Roselli: And this particular chef was telling us, I've had to go in now to the kitchen and I've had to rearrange.
- 19:02Dayna Roselli: Like, we got to get ready now because of Michelin.
- 19:05Dayna Roselli: It changes the game.
- 19:07Sean McAllister: Well, it changes the game because in order to get that star, they make repeat visits to your restaurant and everything from the the first impression as you step in the door to you know, the the service, the busser, the the samoyer, the you know, everything front and back of house at the restaurant needs to be on point in order for uh the the uh reviewer to have the a level of experience that warrants that star.
- 19:44Sean McAllister: Because it is a big deal.
- 19:46Dayna Roselli: It makes me anxious, I think it does.
- 19:47Sean McAllister: Doesn't it?
- 19:48Sean McAllister: And the and listen, the restaurant industry is no joke as it is, right?
- 19:53Sean McAllister: But then to have the pressure of knowing that at any given time any person who uh you may be serving might be a Michelin reviewer.
- 20:03Sean McAllister: Right, like that's a little intense.
- 20:05Sean McAllister: That that makes you uh raise your game.
- 20:08Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 20:08Sean McAllister: But you have bad days sometimes, just as a person.
- 20:12Dayna Roselli: Oh my god, if you told me I had to walk into the office every day being completely on point from top to bottom, because we might have a surprise reviewer in here.
- 20:20Dayna Roselli: I'd be like, throw out the review, just take us out of the batch.
- 20:27Dayna Roselli: Even when I was in TV, regularly live TV, I mean, I was hitting the the you know, the green room often, the makeup room, I should say, to make tweaks into commercial break three.
- 20:40Dayna Roselli: But anyway.
- 20:41Sean McAllister: So by hour two, you were good to go?
- 20:42Dayna Roselli: Yes, by hour two was great.
- 20:44Dayna Roselli: And then the show was over.
- 20:46Dayna Roselli: I looked fabulous for the last half hour.
- 20:49Dayna Roselli: Um, but anyway, yeah, it there's a lot of pressure.
- 20:52Dayna Roselli: And, you know, when we were talking to this particular chef, they were saying, like, you know, and maybe, maybe, not that it's not important, but because Vegas is consistently we're a 24-hour town, you know, 24 or sorry, 365 days a year, you know, year-round kind of town.
- 21:09Dayna Roselli: We don't even close a lot of restaurants, don't even close for holidays.
- 21:12Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's gonna be tough.
- 21:14Dayna Roselli: But so I look forward to seeing how this goes.
- 21:17Dayna Roselli: And I definitely hope, you know, we see a bunch of our restaurants on that list.
- 21:22Dayna Roselli: And if some don't make it, I kind of feel like now I understand why.
- 21:26Sean McAllister: Yes, because it could be a bad day.
- 21:28Sean McAllister: I mean, the conversation we had was very eye-opening because I don't think that I really understood everything that went into a restaurant getting a Michelin star.
- 21:40Sean McAllister: Right.
- 21:40Sean McAllister: And and how big of a deal it is and having to be on your game all the time.
- 21:46Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 21:47Sean McAllister: So it it'll be interesting.
- 21:48Sean McAllister: I'm I'm curious to see what it does for um restaurant prices too.
- 21:56Sean McAllister: Um you know, whether, you know, being on your game uh All the time and raising the level of cuisine is going to have an impact on cost.
- 22:06Sean McAllister: Right.
- 22:07Sean McAllister: Or if that's just a you know, and I don't know.
- 22:11Sean McAllister: I don't know if cost has a correlation to a Michelin star.
- 22:15Dayna Roselli: I don't either.
- 22:17Dayna Roselli: I mean, this is new to our area, so we're gonna learn more.
- 22:20Dayna Roselli: Uh I guess the inaugural restaurant selection will be revealed and at a later date in 2026 during the annual Michelin guide ceremony for the Southwest.
- 22:29Dayna Roselli: No date or details released yet.
- 22:31Dayna Roselli: So, but apparently uh Michelin guide inspectors are already in the field.
- 22:36Sean McAllister: So all right, so keep your eyes open.
- 22:39Sean McAllister: Be ready.
- 22:40Dayna Roselli: Good luck, everyone.
- 22:42Dayna Roselli: Good luck, everybody.
- 22:43Dayna Roselli: Better you than me.
- 22:46Dayna Roselli: Oh man.
- 22:47Sean McAllister: Well, should we keep the uh culinary train moving along here?
- 22:51Dayna Roselli: Sure, let's do it.
- 22:53Sean McAllister: All right, so uh we've mentioned this before here on uh Vegas Revealed.
- 22:58Sean McAllister: The what used to be voodoo steak up at the top of the Rio has been remodeled, rebranded, re-everything.
- 23:08Sean McAllister: They've changed the the entire restaurant.
- 23:10Sean McAllister: Okay, it is now High Stakes Vegas.
- 23:13Sean McAllister: And the chef behind that is celebrated chef James Trees.
- 23:18Sean McAllister: He's uh been here in Las Vegas.
- 23:20Sean McAllister: He's born here in Las Vegas, went away to uh do a lot of his culinary training, came back here in uh 2016 as it has opened up several restaurants now across the Las Vegas Valley.
- 23:33Sean McAllister: Uh, this is his first restaurant inside of uh uh Hotel Casino, though.
- 23:39Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and he's been really excited about this and working hard.
- 23:42Dayna Roselli: And they also have something really special planned for New Year's Eve.
- 23:46Dayna Roselli: We went up to High Stakes to talk to Chef Trees.
- 23:49Sean McAllister: The inaugural High Stakes New Year's Eve celebration is coming up.
- 23:54SPEAKER_04: Yes, sir.
- 23:54SPEAKER_04: We're really excited to have everyone up here to watch the best place in the city to do fireworks.
- 23:59SPEAKER_04: It's gonna be great.
- 23:59Sean McAllister: So, what's going to be different on New Year's Eve than what people experienced on any other service night here?
- 24:06SPEAKER_04: So, service is gonna be a little bit different.
- 24:07SPEAKER_04: We're breaking it into two parts.
- 24:08SPEAKER_04: The first part from four to six o'clock, we're just gonna do a tasting menu, a five course tasting menu with some add-ons.
- 24:15SPEAKER_04: Um, and then we're gonna close and reset the room for a big open kind of style party.
- 24:21SPEAKER_04: We're gonna have paste hors d'oeuvres, shelf fish station, carving stations, open bar.
- 24:26SPEAKER_04: We're gonna have a bar outside, we're gonna have everything ready to go.
- 24:28SPEAKER_04: And then we all get to watch the fireworks at night, and it's gonna be so much fun.
- 24:34Sean McAllister: You're still in your uh first year here at Rio.
- 24:37Sean McAllister: How has everything been going since you opened the doors?
- 24:39SPEAKER_04: This has been a huge local draw.
- 24:41SPEAKER_04: I mean, I think people are really looking for a high-quality steakhouse where they don't have to go this trip to actually have that experience.
- 24:48SPEAKER_04: And I feel like we're really fulfilling that for a lot of people.
- 24:51SPEAKER_04: Even if you're not dining, come on out, sit on the patio, grab a cocktail.
- 24:55SPEAKER_04: It's the best view in the city, and it's always free to come over and hang out.
- 24:58SPEAKER_04: You don't have to pay any stupid fees, you don't have to pay for parking, you don't pay for any of that.
- 25:02Sean McAllister: It shouldn't come as a surprise to anybody that your entire menu is delicious, but I appreciate that you have game on the menu too.
- 25:10SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I think like, you know, so many of the steakhouses around Las Vegas are kind of doing the same thing.
- 25:14SPEAKER_04: And we wanted to get outside the box and start playing around with the fun uh kind of proteins that weren't being seen.
- 25:20SPEAKER_04: So we have elk, boar, venison uh all on the menu.
- 25:24SPEAKER_04: We're gonna be bringing in some ostrich.
- 25:26SPEAKER_04: We have an amazing bison ribeye and amazing bison filet, and we actually have a bison tomahawk, which is actually branded with a little bison in our logo, which is really cool.
- 25:36SPEAKER_05: These are never put on corn or anything, so it's very, very clean, very beautiful, all brass fed.
- 25:42SPEAKER_04: And then we do some other things on the menu that uh people wouldn't like really expect, like smoked fried chicken.
- 25:48SPEAKER_04: Like, even for our mac and cheese, we make the pasta for the mac and cheese here.
- 25:52SPEAKER_04: Like these are the things that we do that no one else does that we're really proud of.
- 25:56Sean McAllister: Have you ever uh spent a New Year's Eve up here from this vantage point?
- 26:02SPEAKER_04: And I never got up here until like Chef uh until Mr.
- 26:05SPEAKER_04: Patrick Miller brought me up and showed me the space.
- 26:07SPEAKER_04: I was like, wow, this is awesome.
- 26:09SPEAKER_04: And I was like, okay, let's do this thing.
- 26:11SPEAKER_04: And now here we are, like a year later, and we have this beautiful restaurant and this amazing team, and we're so lucky to be here.
- 26:18Sean McAllister: And it's your New Year's Eve party.
- 26:20SPEAKER_04: It's my New Year's Eve party, and I mean it's gonna be a really great experience for everybody.
- 26:24SPEAKER_04: We can't wait to share it with you guys.
- 26:27Dayna Roselli: And they did have a great staff back there.
- 26:29Dayna Roselli: We went b back in the kitchen.
- 26:30Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh, yeah.
- 26:31Dayna Roselli: If you look at our YouTube channel and watch the story, you'll see some of the crew back there.
- 26:35Dayna Roselli: And uh they were great, and everything was just really nice back in the kitchen as well, very clean, and they just they got it down.
- 26:42Sean McAllister: Well, and I what I think is interesting is um you know, when when Chef Trees was introducing some of his staff to us, he was like, Oh, they trained at at Esther's and then went off and worked somewhere else, but then I finally got them back.
- 26:57Sean McAllister: Right.
- 26:58Sean McAllister: You know, they're so good.
- 26:59Sean McAllister: I got them back.
- 27:00Sean McAllister: And I I think that that just uh speaks to the operation that that he runs that people want to come back and work for him again.
- 27:08Sean McAllister: Yeah, that's they go train under him and then you know, want to want to come back.
- 27:13Sean McAllister: That's that says a lot.
- 27:14Dayna Roselli: That's a big deal.
- 27:15Dayna Roselli: High stakes should be a great spot for New Year's Eve.
- 27:19Dayna Roselli: You know, my my mom's coming into town.
- 27:20Dayna Roselli: I keep thinking of little things we can do, but I'm like, even when he said just come have a cocktail on the patio, it's the best view.
- 27:26Dayna Roselli: I mean, I might have to take her up there.
- 27:28Dayna Roselli: We've been up there before, I think after a Chippendale's show, but this will be a different experience.
- 27:34Sean McAllister: Yeah, definitely a different experience.
- 27:37Dayna Roselli: Um, and side note, I did talk to Chef Trees about Esther's how I went on a Sunday and it was slammed.
- 27:42Dayna Roselli: And he was saying Sundays are one of his busiest days.
- 27:45Sean McAllister: Which is crazy.
- 27:46Dayna Roselli: I know, and that's the one in downtown Las Vegas, his his restaurant there that's always busy, but really sun.
- 27:52Dayna Roselli: I I went Sunday at 5 30 and it was packed.
- 27:55Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 27:56Sean McAllister: I think he said your best shot at at like getting a a walk-in spot is on Thursdays.
- 28:02Dayna Roselli: Okay, right.
- 28:03Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I think he did say that.
- 28:04Sean McAllister: And they're by no means slow on Thursdays, but that's just your your best shot at walking in.
- 28:11Sean McAllister: And by the way, um, the New Year's Eve at High Stakes, there's a couple different ticket prices uh for the New Year's Eve festivities, uh starting at$300 for the um uh for the whole party.
- 28:29Sean McAllister: And then there's a a$500 ticket that gets you in an hour early.
- 28:34Sean McAllister: And uh they're doing some uh special uh liquor tastings and some uh uh some extra stuff.
- 28:40Sean McAllister: Yeah, elevated stuff if you want to get in an hour early.
- 28:43Sean McAllister: Um but he's got top of the line stuff planned.
- 28:46Dayna Roselli: So yeah, he's excited about it.
- 28:48Dayna Roselli: So um and it will be a prime spot to watch those fireworks at midnight.
- 28:52Dayna Roselli: Hey, quick uh family-friendly event happening.
- 28:54Dayna Roselli: Glittering Lights is great here in Las Vegas.
- 28:56Dayna Roselli: It takes place up at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
- 29:00Dayna Roselli: They're doing a special thing on New Year's Eve, too.
- 29:03Dayna Roselli: You can ring in 2026 East Coast time, yeah.
- 29:07Dayna Roselli: So it's family friendly.
- 29:09Dayna Roselli: Um, and you know, this attraction is celebrating 25 years this year.
- 29:13Dayna Roselli: So congratulations.
- 29:14Dayna Roselli: If you've never been, it includes more than 6 million LED lights and more than 600 animated and sparkling displays.
- 29:21Dayna Roselli: Um, it will be open through January 4th, so you still have time to go up there.
- 29:26Dayna Roselli: I know you were gonna bring the dog like you do every year.
- 29:28Dayna Roselli: Sawyer, your dog.
- 29:29Dayna Roselli: Have you done that yet?
- 29:30Sean McAllister: We haven't yet.
- 29:31Sean McAllister: I think this week we're gonna go.
- 29:32Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 29:33Dayna Roselli: Well, you can go to uh glittering lightslosvegas.com for tickets and more information.
- 29:37Dayna Roselli: They have all sorts of different nights planned.
- 29:39Dayna Roselli: There's lots of different themes and different appearances.
- 29:42Dayna Roselli: I think they had the wiener mobile there over the weekend and all sorts of stuff.
- 29:46Sean McAllister: Why wouldn't the wiener mobile be there?
- 29:48Dayna Roselli: I wonder if the wiener mobile must be decked out for the holidays.
- 29:52Sean McAllister: Throw some lights on that big wiener.
- 29:57Dayna Roselli: Who doesn't love uh decorated wiener?
- 30:04Sean McAllister: Well, let's keep things festive, shall we?
- 30:06Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and sexy.
- 30:07Dayna Roselli: Let's go over to 40 deuce uh that's reopening over at Mandalay Bay, an intimate burlesque club.
- 30:13Dayna Roselli: This was the hot club, like lounge in Vegas in the early 2000s.
- 30:19Dayna Roselli: It's coming back.
- 30:21Sean McAllister: It is.
- 30:21Sean McAllister: I know we're excited to hear about this.
- 30:24Sean McAllister: Um, Ivan Kane is the guy who brought 40 deuce to Las Vegas originally.
- 30:31Sean McAllister: He's the guy who's bringing it back, and he's opening it in the original location inside Mandalay Bay, but he's kind of redoing absolutely everything.
- 30:42Sean McAllister: But we stopped over to chat with him about his plans.
- 30:44Dayna Roselli: And he was really excited, he's really excited about this opening.
- 30:49Dayna Roselli: So listen to this interview, and it might also be something you want to do on New Year's Eve because he said he's gonna keep it affordable.
- 30:56SPEAKER_00: You go to any 40,000 square foot EDM nightclub or the sphere, and we take all that stuff and stick it in a closet because we're a very intimate nightclub, 5,000 square feet.
- 31:06SPEAKER_00: So we've got the same stuff.
- 31:08SPEAKER_00: I mean, you know, laser light show, light shows, huge LED walls, you know, bridges coming down from the ceiling.
- 31:13SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's just a Saturday.
- 31:15SPEAKER_00: Performance platforms all over the room.
- 31:17SPEAKER_00: It's very immersive, very cozy, very sexy, completely unique to anything you can get.
- 31:23SPEAKER_00: It's experiential though, but you know, I mean, if you're walking out of 42 and someone says, hey, what do you want to eat?
- 31:28SPEAKER_00: I didn't do my job, you know.
- 31:30SPEAKER_00: I mean, people are talking about a watercooler conversation.
- 31:32Dayna Roselli: You're kicking off New Year's Eve.
- 31:34SPEAKER_00: Kicking off New Year's Eve.
- 31:35SPEAKER_00: I think I gotta have my head examined, but if you're gonna go big, go home.
- 31:39SPEAKER_00: Otherwise, you know, so New Year's Eve, Las Vegas, gonna be better.
- 31:43SPEAKER_00: We'll do a sexy countdown with the 40 News dancers.
- 31:46SPEAKER_00: We got six dancers, two live bands, and then of course we're gonna decorate the room, and you know, they're gonna be the first people to get to experience 40's, and uh, I'm really excited about it.
- 31:58Dayna Roselli: And what made you want to come back or think about coming back?
- 32:02SPEAKER_00: Well, I love MGM, I've been part of the family, and uh, we were talking about various spaces and various properties, and somebody floated the idea, hey, what'd you think about going back to the OG space?
- 32:14SPEAKER_00: And what do you think of that idea?
- 32:16SPEAKER_00: And I thought it was a great story, and I and the space has a magic quality to it that's kind of hard to replicate, so I thought it was great.
- 32:24SPEAKER_00: So we just made it happen, and but we got it.
- 32:26SPEAKER_00: The space was starting all over.
- 32:28SPEAKER_00: This is 40 News 2.0, so to speak.
- 32:31SPEAKER_00: But uh, but the magic's still there.
- 32:33Dayna Roselli: I was gonna say, what will be different from last time?
- 32:35Dayna Roselli: Anything, or it's the same idea, just you know, more modern?
- 32:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean, ca you know, I mean, I've been doing this concept since 2002, so definitely, you know, I've kind of changed the concept over the years, just modernized it to use your word.
- 32:51SPEAKER_00: But, you know, conceptually it's the same idea.
- 32:53SPEAKER_00: You know, Warfame is burlesque, best dancers, best musicians, live bands only, the great DJs dancing.
- 33:00SPEAKER_00: That's all the same.
- 33:02SPEAKER_00: But the audio visual experience is insanity.
- 33:07SPEAKER_00: With what's going on in Las Vegas right now, there's a lot of pushback on a lot of pricing and a lot of different arenas, hospitality included.
- 33:15SPEAKER_00: And we, of course, look, I gotta pay the rent, but at the same time, we want it to be reasonable, we want people to be able to come in, and it's not gonna break the bank.
- 33:25SPEAKER_00: So I think they're gonna be very pleasantly surprised, including our New Year's Eve pricing.
- 33:30Dayna Roselli: Watching people have fun, it's gotta be so satisfying for you.
- 33:33SPEAKER_00: It's the only thing that puts a smile on my face these days because you know what?
- 33:36SPEAKER_00: Life's hard, and people need to take a break.
- 33:40SPEAKER_00: And if I can provide that for a few minutes, then I feel like what I do is worthwhile.
- 33:44Dayna Roselli: We are gonna have to check out 40 deuce one night.
- 33:47Dayna Roselli: Hey, side note, did you know Ivan Cain's in Platoon?
- 33:50Sean McAllister: I mean, I did not know that until he told us.
- 33:52Dayna Roselli: And then I Googled it and I'm like, look at Ivan.
- 33:54Dayna Roselli: Yeah, there's Ivan.
- 33:55Dayna Roselli: He's got a he's pivoted into the nightclub scene, but he's done a lot of things.
- 33:59Dayna Roselli: He's had a long, successful career, and he's excited, as you could tell from the interview, really excited about bringing this club back.
- 34:07Sean McAllister: Yeah, he is.
- 34:08Sean McAllister: And I think it'll bring those, you know, that's a piece of nostalgia for a a chunk of the Las Vegas population that was that was club goers back in the early 2000s, and right, you know, have uh stopped clubbing to raise families and advance their careers.
- 34:28Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 34:28Sean McAllister: And now it's time to get a little taste of that.
- 34:32Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 34:32Dayna Roselli: Uh, it's great.
- 34:33Dayna Roselli: He says he loves working with Mandalay Bay, so I'm an MGM in general.
- 34:37Dayna Roselli: So that's you know, you heard in the interview.
- 34:39Dayna Roselli: He's like, I'll just go back in the same spot I was before.
- 34:41SPEAKER_03: Yeah, why not?
- 34:42Dayna Roselli: Takes away, just cuts out the you know, the decision making.
- 34:46Dayna Roselli: So um, we did talk about hey, some things that we're gonna be doing over the next month.
- 34:50Dayna Roselli: I'm gonna be heading to um the nutcracker over at the Smith Center.
- 34:53Dayna Roselli: That's going on right now, and we wanted to let you know the Nevada Ballet, they put on the Nutcracker every year, and this year they're doing a different version.
- 35:00Sean McAllister: Yeah, it's a George Balanchine version of the Nutcracker.
- 35:04Sean McAllister: It's an art deco, uh theatrical design.
- 35:09Sean McAllister: Um, and it's a different production than what the ballet theater has done in previous uh years.
- 35:16Sean McAllister: This is an annual uh production that they do, but they mix it up.
- 35:21Sean McAllister: They like to mix it up with different costumes, different set pieces, different uh uh choreography.
- 35:27Sean McAllister: Right.
- 35:28Sean McAllister: Um so that'll be great.
- 35:30Sean McAllister: That'll be great to see.
- 35:31Dayna Roselli: Yeah, the little clips that I did see, I was really impressed and really looking forward to it.
- 35:35Dayna Roselli: Um, like I mentioned, my mom is coming into town for the holiday season, so I'm excited to I said, Hey mom, you want to go see the Nutcracker?
- 35:42Dayna Roselli: And she's like, you know, I've never seen it.
- 35:43Dayna Roselli: I'm like, you know, I don't know if I've seen it in full either.
- 35:47Dayna Roselli: So I'm excited.
- 35:48Sean McAllister: And the Nevada Ballet Theater, they have such a talent.
- 35:52Dayna Roselli: Yeah, they do.
- 35:53Sean McAllister: So I I I hope that you both enjoy it.
- 35:56Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I I'll I'll share one after we go.
- 35:59Dayna Roselli: Um, nevadaballet.org is where you can go to get more information.
- 36:03Dayna Roselli: Um, the Nutcracker is running there December uh 13th.
- 36:07Dayna Roselli: It's already started to the 28th.
- 36:09Dayna Roselli: So you have time if you want to go check it out as well.
- 36:12Sean McAllister: We are also gonna be popping out is to um check out a new Barbie-themed cafe and roller rink.
- 36:22Dayna Roselli: This sounds great.
- 36:23Dayna Roselli: We're actually, by the time this podcast drops, we'll we will have gone or gone already.
- 36:28Dayna Roselli: Um, because we're actually going this week to check it out, and it's we're doing a story for our television show to run in early January.
- 36:36Dayna Roselli: I can't wait to see it, and I already just see success oozing out of it.
- 36:40Sean McAllister: Oh my god, a Malibu Barbie Cafe and Roller Rank.
- 36:43Sean McAllister: Are you kidding?
- 36:44Dayna Roselli: Could we have anything else in V?
- 36:46Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's unbelievable every time we say, like, there can't be anything else.
- 36:50Dayna Roselli: But there is, but there is.
- 36:52Dayna Roselli: Um, this is what over at area 15, so that makes sense.
- 36:55Sean McAllister: Over at area 15, where they have so many different types of experiential uh attractions, restaurants, lounges.
- 37:05Sean McAllister: Um and I think I mean this will fit in perfectly over there.
- 37:10Sean McAllister: But I think this Malibu Barbie cafe is going to draw its own crowd.
- 37:15Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 37:16Dayna Roselli: And so hopefully there'll be something on our like social media that you'll be able to go look at and see once you hear this, if you want to go see what it looks like.
- 37:25Dayna Roselli: But it's a family-friendly pop-up restaurant and roller rink, like you mentioned, but it's also inspired by the groovy beachside energy of the 1970s Malibu.
- 37:35Dayna Roselli: Doesn't that just sound fun?
- 37:37Sean McAllister: Bring it on.
- 37:37Sean McAllister: I need to get my tall striped tube socks out.
- 37:40Dayna Roselli: I need a spray tan.
- 37:43Dayna Roselli: I'm feeling white this time of year, and people always look at me and go, why?
- 37:47Dayna Roselli: What are you talking about?
- 37:48Dayna Roselli: You're so tan.
- 37:49Dayna Roselli: I'm like, I know.
- 37:50Dayna Roselli: I gotta compete with Malibu Barbie.
- 37:52Sean McAllister: I know.
- 37:53Sean McAllister: And Skipper.
- 37:54Sean McAllister: Oh my god.
- 37:55Sean McAllister: Or Skipper later in the game.
- 37:56Dayna Roselli: This is gonna be great.
- 37:57Dayna Roselli: So we'll have more on that at a later date, but it's it's I think it's gonna be awesome to check out, and I just it's just gonna do well, period.
- 38:06Sean McAllister: It'll it'll do fantastically well.
- 38:10Dayna Roselli: There's certain things we just know, right?
- 38:12Sean McAllister: You you can already tell.
- 38:13Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 38:14Sean McAllister: Uh, we're also going to check out Jennifer Lopez.
- 38:17Sean McAllister: She's opening at the Coliseum over at Caesar's Palace with her new residency show.
- 38:22Sean McAllister: She's got a couple shows uh the end of the month going into uh like right around New Year's Eve.
- 38:29Sean McAllister: Um, and then she's back in March with more shows.
- 38:32Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 38:32Dayna Roselli: And I think she I don't know if I saw it on her page.
- 38:35Dayna Roselli: I was looking at a little bit of rehearsal or what, you know, it looks good.
- 38:39Dayna Roselli: I mean, listen, J Lo just puts on a great performance.
- 38:42Dayna Roselli: If you want to go see a show, I feel like you're gonna like it no matter what.
- 38:47Dayna Roselli: Um, and the music is great.
- 38:49Dayna Roselli: And actually, when I was sitting by Ja Rule at the end, this is gonna come full circle now at the NBA Cup.
- 38:56Dayna Roselli: I was thinking, I really love his song with J Lo.
- 38:59Sean McAllister: It's a good one.
- 39:00Sean McAllister: It's a good one.
- 39:01Dayna Roselli: And I thought, oh, maybe he's in town doing rehearsals with J Lo.
- 39:03Dayna Roselli: Maybe he's gonna make an appearance for that song.
- 39:06Dayna Roselli: But anyway, I look forward to seeing that.
- 39:08Dayna Roselli: We're all gonna be there.
- 39:09Dayna Roselli: Um, and we will come back with a full report.
- 39:12Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 39:13Dayna Roselli: I did like that song though, right?
- 39:14Dayna Roselli: It's good.
- 39:15Dayna Roselli: That is a good song.
- 39:16Dayna Roselli: I reminded you, right?
- 39:17Sean McAllister: I did, yeah.
- 39:18Dayna Roselli: Um, so yeah, J Lo over at the Coliseum.
- 39:22Dayna Roselli: That's gonna be awesome.
- 39:23Dayna Roselli: What else are we doing?
- 39:24Dayna Roselli: Um, we'll probably check out a few restaurants.
- 39:27Dayna Roselli: I was thinking of a bunch of places to take mom.
- 39:31Dayna Roselli: Um, maybe the terrace at Green Valley as well, the winter at the terrace.
- 39:36Dayna Roselli: They do a great thing over there.
- 39:38Sean McAllister: They have the igloos out there by the pool.
- 39:41Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 39:42Dayna Roselli: It's just, I mean, the weather's been so nice here.
- 39:44Dayna Roselli: It's been so unseasonably warm.
- 39:46Sean McAllister: You don't even need an igloo.
- 39:48Sean McAllister: You don't.
- 39:48Sean McAllister: You can just sit outside.
- 39:49Dayna Roselli: You had a cookie decorating party on Sunday, and we were supposed to wear like comfy pajamas, and like I was thinking, like, I had my whole like the Uggs and big comfy sweatshirt, and I couldn't wear any of it because it was like 70 degrees outside.
- 40:02Sean McAllister: And sunny and beautiful with the doors and windows open.
- 40:05Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 40:06Dayna Roselli: I have actually been looking for an extra patio chair.
- 40:09Dayna Roselli: I went, okay, this is not me too.
- 40:11Dayna Roselli: I am not like a home store like big box store kind of person.
- 40:18Dayna Roselli: So in my hunt for an outdoor folding chair for a patio, okay, just one.
- 40:23Dayna Roselli: I wanted to add it to my one that I already have.
- 40:25Dayna Roselli: I went to Ace Hardware, which is smaller.
- 40:29Dayna Roselli: They were out.
- 40:30Dayna Roselli: Um, and uh Walmart, Target, Home Depot, and I think Ross and Lowe's.
- 40:39Dayna Roselli: Everyone was like, our Christmas stuff's out.
- 40:41Dayna Roselli: We don't have that stuff available.
- 40:43Sean McAllister: Yeah, the seasonal stuff is gone.
- 40:44Dayna Roselli: And I'm like, but it's 70 degrees out.
- 40:47Dayna Roselli: People are buying patio chairs.
- 40:48Dayna Roselli: So when I went into Ace, they said, Oh, somebody just came in and scooped up like all six that were left on the floor.
- 40:55Dayna Roselli: And I'm like, see, people are wanting to buy patio chairs.
- 40:59Dayna Roselli: They're missing out by loading up with those Christmas trees.
- 41:03Sean McAllister: With all that crap.
- 41:05Sean McAllister: All the Christmas crap.
- 41:07Sean McAllister: Uh I mean, come on.
- 41:09Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 41:10Sean McAllister: Listen, Las Vegas is a different kind of market, especially for those hardware stores.
- 41:15Sean McAllister: Like leave the patio stuff out all year.
- 41:19Sean McAllister: You need to have a patio section year-round.
- 41:23Sean McAllister: Like, cut down on that Halloween crap, on the Christmas crap.
- 41:27Sean McAllister: I mean, even though you have a 90-foot inflatable Santa to offer this year, like put a couple patio chairs next to him.
- 41:36Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 41:36Dayna Roselli: It's it's or some cushions or an umbrella.
- 41:39Dayna Roselli: Ugh.
- 41:40Sean McAllister: Come on.
- 41:41Dayna Roselli: I can't.
- 41:41Dayna Roselli: Um, and by the way, so then someone said to me, Why don't you just order it on Amazon?
- 41:46Dayna Roselli: I said, Well, because I was trying to actually like buy it locally in my town.
- 41:50SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 41:51Dayna Roselli: And just go to a store, throw it in my car and bring it up to the balcony and unfold it.
- 41:56Sean McAllister: And then you can see if it's comfortable or not, too.
- 41:58Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 41:58Dayna Roselli: And look at it.
- 41:59Sean McAllister: Because some chairs are not comfortable.
- 42:01Dayna Roselli: No.
- 42:02Dayna Roselli: Well, I had to order on Amazon.
- 42:03Dayna Roselli: I gave up.
- 42:04Dayna Roselli: I'm like, you know what?
- 42:06Dayna Roselli: Forget it.
- 42:06Dayna Roselli: So last night I was sitting there watching TV and I thought I'm just gonna order this thing on Amazon.
- 42:12Dayna Roselli: And I did, and it's coming December 22nd.
- 42:14Sean McAllister: So you tried to shop local.
- 42:15Dayna Roselli: Yep.
- 42:16Dayna Roselli: I tried.
- 42:17Dayna Roselli: A lot.
- 42:17Dayna Roselli: I went all over.
- 42:18Dayna Roselli: I just gave up every single person.
- 42:20Dayna Roselli: And they they weren't like it's funny too, because everyone like every single person that I asked, they weren't very nice about it.
- 42:27Sean McAllister: Really?
- 42:27Dayna Roselli: Yeah, in every store.
- 42:29Sean McAllister: Because they just expected, like, oh, it's Christmas time.
- 42:31Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 42:32Dayna Roselli: And they're like, no, I mean, we don't have that stuff available right now.
- 42:35Dayna Roselli: Uh, I don't know.
- 42:36Dayna Roselli: If we do, it like it might be in camping, but I don't think so.
- 42:39Dayna Roselli: And like normal, no, we have all this stuff out now.
- 42:41Dayna Roselli: Or no, and I was like, all right, gosh, they were getting annoyed with me.
- 42:44Dayna Roselli: I'm like, all right, I just want a chair.
- 42:46Sean McAllister: They need to take lessons from the staff at T-Mobile Arena.
- 42:49Sean McAllister: Yeah, they do.
- 42:50Sean McAllister: Right?
- 42:51unknown: Right.
- 42:52Dayna Roselli: It's so true.
- 42:54Dayna Roselli: Uh anyway, we hope a lot of you have been visiting, or the ones that of you that listen and live here have been enjoying the weather.
- 43:00Dayna Roselli: It's really been nice.
- 43:02Dayna Roselli: It's it's great because we get a little crisp at night and in the morning.
- 43:05Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 43:05Dayna Roselli: But then it's nice in the day.
- 43:07Sean McAllister: It's beautiful during the day.
- 43:08Dayna Roselli: Oh, we have more tips, don't we?
- 43:10Sean McAllister: We do.
- 43:10Sean McAllister: Let's get to them.
- 43:16Dayna Roselli: Okay, I did get a note from the Museum of Illusions here in Las Vegas.
- 43:20Dayna Roselli: It's right on the strip.
- 43:22Dayna Roselli: And it is over at uh 63 City Center.
- 43:25Dayna Roselli: That's right on the strip between the Cosmopolitan and the shops at Crystals.
- 43:29Dayna Roselli: And they wanted to let us know about something they're doing for the holidays, but it was also just a reminder to let people know that this museum is there because we've walked by and we keep saying we need to go, we need to go.
- 43:40Dayna Roselli: And we have not been yet.
- 43:41Dayna Roselli: But they have like over 80 exhibits in this museum.
- 43:46Dayna Roselli: People love it.
- 43:46Dayna Roselli: I hear great things.
- 43:48Dayna Roselli: And during the holiday season, they are doing well, they say they say they're gonna feature like cozy holiday sweater decor throughout some of the exhibits, like the cloning table, the infinity room, and the color room.
- 43:58Dayna Roselli: And Santa's coming to Well, he's coming to the museum, I should say, for photo ops December 20th and 21st, one to four.
- 44:06Dayna Roselli: And the Santa photos are at no additional cost for museum guests.
- 44:09Dayna Roselli: Oh, nice.
- 44:10Dayna Roselli: Yeah, so that'll be good, right?
- 44:11Dayna Roselli: That's a good little perk.
- 44:12Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and if you don't make it there for the holiday, just want to let you know that, you know, that museum is there.
- 44:17Dayna Roselli: It's a tough spot on that corner because unless you walk by, you know, you don't know it's there or see it.
- 44:24Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 44:24Dayna Roselli: You know, because it's not within a hotel casino where you walk by, it's actually in 63 City Center.
- 44:30Dayna Roselli: That's right near Ocean Prime and the Arte Museum.
- 44:33Sean McAllister: There's a lot of great stuff at at 63 City Center.
- 44:36Sean McAllister: You just have to make it your destination.
- 44:39Sean McAllister: You need to be going there and know that it's there.
- 44:42Sean McAllister: So look it up, look up everything that's there, including the Museum of Illusions, and put that on your to-do list.
- 44:49Dayna Roselli: If you want some fun pictures, and I know a lot of people do, if you're all about the the Instagram and all that, um, your Instagram, your TikTok, could do some fun stuff there as well.
- 44:59Dayna Roselli: Oh, for sure.
- 44:59Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 45:00Sean McAllister: Um, over at Aria, which is right by 63 City Center, um, there is a new Indian restaurant that has opened up, and there are so many people excited about this.
- 45:12Sean McAllister: It's called Gymkana.
- 45:14Sean McAllister: The original location was in London, still is, and it is like globally renowned for its food.
- 45:22Sean McAllister: It is so popular, and now we have one here.
- 45:26Dayna Roselli: I know it's at Aria, and it's open because we had talked, I think we did mention this before, but we want to let everyone know there's been a lot of anticipation.
- 45:33Dayna Roselli: Like, when's it gonna open?
- 45:34Dayna Roselli: And I've even heard in the community, like, do you know?
- 45:37Dayna Roselli: Or hey, if you get invited to that Indian restaurant, you gotta bring me and all this.
- 45:40Dayna Roselli: And I'm like, listen, I'm gonna be there no matter what because I love Indian food.
- 45:44Dayna Roselli: Um, and so we will have to go check it out, but yeah, a lot of anticipation, and it is officially open.
- 45:50Dayna Roselli: So, and I think it's perfect for the holiday season, you know, people coming in from all over the world, and a lot of people love their Indian food.
- 45:58Dayna Roselli: And I think we talked about this in the past.
- 46:00Dayna Roselli: I don't we don't really have a lot of Indian restaurants on the strip.
- 46:04Sean McAllister: No, there's not a ton at all.
- 46:06Sean McAllister: And I I mean, from uh you mentioned that it's gonna be in demand.
- 46:09Sean McAllister: The the people who I have seen, some of my you know, social media people uh who I've seen who have been just rave about it.
- 46:19Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 46:21Dayna Roselli: So you've seen people that have actually got okay.
- 46:23Sean McAllister: Oh yeah.
- 46:23Sean McAllister: Oh good.
- 46:24Sean McAllister: The flavors, the the atmosphere, the servers, they just rave about absolutely everything.
- 46:33Sean McAllister: So who knows?
- 46:34Sean McAllister: Maybe Jim Connor is up for a Michelin star once those reviewers hit the streets.
- 46:39Dayna Roselli: That's true.
- 46:39Dayna Roselli: That's true.
- 46:40Dayna Roselli: Now that I think about it, now that I'm even saying it's open, I'm gonna take my own tip and I was just telling you and go.
- 46:46Dayna Roselli: And my mom's here.
- 46:46Dayna Roselli: I think that's what we'll do one night.
- 46:48Dayna Roselli: I do love Indian.
- 46:50Dayna Roselli: I'm excited about this.
- 46:51Dayna Roselli: Well, and even looking at some of the pictures of the dishes, it looks so good.
- 46:55Dayna Roselli: So, anyway, that is now open at Aria.
- 46:57Dayna Roselli: I think that's a great addition to that hotel casino, too.
- 47:00Sean McAllister: It really is.
- 47:01Dayna Roselli: Perfect spot for it.
- 47:02Sean McAllister: So, congratulations to the team over there for bringing the restaurant to town.
- 47:07Sean McAllister: We're excited to have it.
- 47:08Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 47:09Dayna Roselli: Um, listen, over the next couple weeks, it's New Year, it's it's Christmas, uh, all the things.
- 47:15Dayna Roselli: Uh, by the way, also, I should have mentioned at the top, happy Hanukkah, everyone.
- 47:18Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 47:19Dayna Roselli: Um, but you know, we might take a couple weeks off here and there, but we kind of want to throw something in.
- 47:25Dayna Roselli: So we think we might give you a little taste of the TV show.
- 47:29Dayna Roselli: Take some of the TV shows that we've done that are kind of like um, what do you call those?
- 47:34Sean McAllister: Uh like Evergreen.
- 47:35Dayna Roselli: Evergreen.
- 47:36Sean McAllister: Like content that doesn't get outdated.
- 47:38Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 47:39Sean McAllister: It's always there for you.
- 47:41Sean McAllister: Like a good friend.
- 47:43Sean McAllister: Like a good neighbor.
- 47:44Sean McAllister: Like a good neighbor.
- 47:46Sean McAllister: Vegas Revealed is there.
- 47:48Sean McAllister: That's so true.
- 47:49Dayna Roselli: I was just gonna side note into something else.
- 47:50Dayna Roselli: I'm not gonna.
- 47:52Dayna Roselli: Well, because that okay, wait, real quick.
- 47:54Dayna Roselli: Have you seen John Hamm's show um on Apple TV about my friend and neighbor?
- 48:01Dayna Roselli: What's it called?
- 48:02Sean McAllister: Um Oh, the one with Tina Faye?
- 48:04Dayna Roselli: Nope.
- 48:05Sean McAllister: Uh no, but I've seen him on the morning show.
- 48:08Dayna Roselli: No.
- 48:09Dayna Roselli: All right, anyway.
- 48:10Dayna Roselli: I'm blanking on the name.
- 48:11Dayna Roselli: Anyway, this have you seen the viral instant like like social media trend that everyone's doing when you something goes right and how you feel, and then it cuts to John Hamm in a nightclub?
- 48:22Sean McAllister: No, you haven't?
- 48:23Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 48:24Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 48:25Dayna Roselli: I feel like maybe this doesn't make sense then.
- 48:27Dayna Roselli: Forget it.
- 48:28Sean McAllister: Well, I'm sure somebody listening has seen it.
- 48:31Sean McAllister: It's all over the place.
- 48:32Sean McAllister: I mean, it just hasn't hit my algorithm yet.
- 48:34Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh, you haven't seen John Ham's show?
- 48:36Sean McAllister: No, but now that we're talking about it and my phone is listening, it's gonna be like every single post that I see.
- 48:42Sean McAllister: The John Hamm nightclub trend.
- 48:44Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 48:46Dayna Roselli: Here we go.
- 48:47Dayna Roselli: Movie and okay, here we go.
- 48:48Dayna Roselli: Your friends' neighbors.
- 48:50Dayna Roselli: Yes, that's what it's called.
- 48:51Dayna Roselli: It's on Apple TV.
- 48:51Dayna Roselli: It's actually really good.
- 48:52SPEAKER_03: Is it?
- 48:53Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 48:53Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 48:54Dayna Roselli: Um, I won't spoil it, but um, anyway, this little clip from that show, it has become this viral TikTok, social media, Instagram trend.
- 49:05Dayna Roselli: And I'll show you one once we get off the podcast.
- 49:07Dayna Roselli: It's perfect.
- 49:08Sean McAllister: I look forward to it.
- 49:10Dayna Roselli: Anyway, because you said friends and neighbors, that's how it came to mind.
- 49:14Dayna Roselli: So what were we even what were we even talking about?
- 49:16Sean McAllister: Uh, we were wrapping it up.
- 49:18Dayna Roselli: Oh, we were okay.
- 49:18Dayna Roselli: Oh, yes, we're gonna show you, uh, we're gonna do the audio version of some generic television shows.
- 49:24Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 49:25Dayna Roselli: And uh might do that because we feel like there's a lot of good content in some of those.
- 49:29Dayna Roselli: And even though it's kind of made for a visual, it still works audio-wise.
- 49:33Dayna Roselli: So we'll bring you some of those.
- 49:34Dayna Roselli: And we always feel like those are great shows because they're evergreen that live on forever and have good information, sometimes uh some good recommendations for places for you to go and check out and all that kind of thing.
- 49:47Sean McAllister: So uh expect that in the weeks to come, and we'll be back uh again with all new stuff um in the new year for you.
- 49:59Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 49:59Dayna Roselli: Have a great new year if we don't talk to you.
- 50:03Sean McAllister: Be happy and healthy, end up in a nightclub like John Ham.
- 50:09Dayna Roselli: John Ham needs to be at the opening of 40 deuce.
- 50:12Sean McAllister: He does.
- 50:14Sean McAllister: Well, now he does.
- 50:15Dayna Roselli: Now he does.
- 50:16Dayna Roselli: All right, everyone.
- 50:17Dayna Roselli: We'll talk to you next time.
- 50:18Dayna Roselli: We will have stuff rolling out, so keep it here, keep subscribed, and again, we appreciate you.
- 50:23Dayna Roselli: That's a wrap on episode 300.
