  [SPEAKER_03]: What's up everybody?
• 0:15
[SPEAKER_03]: Welcome to a very special episode of Coffee's with Joe Shao.
• 0:19
[SPEAKER_03]: Today I'm sitting with one of the most hilarious people, the wrist game hacked.
• 0:26
[SPEAKER_03]: He's featured on so many things from Netflix, the Comedy Central, to his own residency at the LaFactory, please welcome the one, the only Tehran.
• 0:34
[SPEAKER_01]: Yo, that was a great intro.
• 0:35
  [SPEAKER_01]: I have a question.
• 0:36
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you ever have not a special edition?
• 0:38
[SPEAKER_01]: Is it ever just like, hey guys, it's just another edition with this random not special person?
• 0:44
[SPEAKER_01]: Or is everyone like does everyone get that roll out the red car?
• 0:47
[SPEAKER_03]: Bro, you got I said extremely special.
• 0:50
  [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm not there.
• 0:51
  [SPEAKER_01]: I thought another version.
• 0:52
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I wonder another adjective there.
• 0:53
[SPEAKER_01]: If I'm somebody else by the way, and I watch this episode and then I don't get that, I'm gonna be like, Hey, Joe, like we need to talk like what's up.
• 1:00
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, man, I got a lot of comedy questions.
• 1:02
[SPEAKER_03]: Some improv to ask you, myself, my man.
• 1:04
  [SPEAKER_03]: That's what's going to be.
• 1:05
[SPEAKER_03]: All right, thanks for coming to the show.
• 1:07
[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to dive in today.
• 1:09
[SPEAKER_03]: So far, how's your drive up here?
• 1:11
[SPEAKER_01]: Honestly, we love to say it's the worst.
• 1:12
[SPEAKER_01]: But I've been all around the world.
• 1:15
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not the worst here.
• 1:16
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just worst for here.
• 1:18
[SPEAKER_01]: You know how that works?
• 1:19
  [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
• 1:19
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, when you go to places like the Middle East, that's real traffic.
• 1:22
[SPEAKER_01]: see in America, two lanes, two cars that make sense.
• 1:25
[SPEAKER_01]: You go to somewhere like Cairo, two lanes, 27 cars, 14 camels, three goats, and an Indian guy selling water and balloons in the middle of the street.
• 1:33
[SPEAKER_01]: Like why is that guy even there?
• 1:34
  [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, exactly.
• 1:35
[SPEAKER_03]: And we complain about that.
• 1:36
  [SPEAKER_03]: So they don't, they've never been a Cairo.
• 1:37
[SPEAKER_03]: They never been a Hong Kong.
• 1:38
  [SPEAKER_03]: They don't know what's going on.
• 1:39
[SPEAKER_01]: go to Hong Kong and see in Hong Kong, they have people that will come pick you up in a motorcycle out of your car and take you to your destination while someone else drives your car there.
• 1:51
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's next level.
• 1:51
  [SPEAKER_03]: That's nice.
• 1:52
[SPEAKER_03]: LA will be there in 10 years.
• 1:53
  [SPEAKER_03]: That's where we're at.
• 1:55
[SPEAKER_03]: I like to start the show off with the same way I start with everybody.
• 1:59
[SPEAKER_03]: And what is a comedian's morning routine?
• 2:02
[SPEAKER_01]: Well that's the thing a comedian doesn't even have a morning routine like waking up in the morning is usually not what a comedian does because our hours of work vary.
• 2:11
  [SPEAKER_01]: So the average person goes to work from 9 to 5 9 a.m. 5 p.m. That's the work.
• 2:15
[SPEAKER_01]: We're like 5 to 3 a.m. We get up in the afternoon and we go out and start hitting the gigs.
• 2:23
[SPEAKER_01]: You start hitting the clubs and that's always a night time activity.
• 2:26
[SPEAKER_01]: So we're up and out until 2, 3 a.m. sometimes even later then get back in.
• 2:31
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, some of us like myself who write on projects, we then have to wake up and be up by eight or nine and get to working because we have these deliverables.
• 2:40
[SPEAKER_01]: We have to turn in our scripts, our punch shops, our just add-ons to any script that has given towards us.
• 2:48
[SPEAKER_01]: So, that's where it works.
• 2:49
  [SPEAKER_01]: So, I'm always up.
• 2:51
  [SPEAKER_01]: I'm 7-11.
• 2:52
  [SPEAKER_01]: I'm 7-11, Joe.
• 2:53
  [SPEAKER_01]: I'm like you.
• 2:54
  [SPEAKER_01]: I never sleep.
• 2:55
  [SPEAKER_01]: It's the grind that
• 2:58
  [SPEAKER_01]: It is.
• 2:58
[SPEAKER_01]: It really is because a lot of people, and for those of you don't know, my name is Tehran, I'm half Iranian, half black.
• 3:05
  [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm surprised I'm still alive.
• 3:08
[SPEAKER_01]: Like the fact that I'm in the United States and haven't been deported, the president wants to build a wall just around me.
• 3:14
[SPEAKER_01]: Like that's the idea of it.
• 3:16
[SPEAKER_01]: But this work ethic background comes from my immigrant side and my black
• 3:27
  [SPEAKER_03]: I love it, man.
• 3:28
[SPEAKER_03]: And you're growing so fast.
• 3:30
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, you're starting to really dominate the comedy scene, doing an amazing work.
• 3:33
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, you got an ear on your on Netflix.
• 3:35
[SPEAKER_03]: Now you're doing some just next level type of projects.
• 3:39
[SPEAKER_03]: Um, so I want to talk about Tehran, the black
• 3:44
[SPEAKER_03]: Middle Eastern because that and that is such a unique approach to comedy.
• 3:49
[SPEAKER_03]: I think you're the first black Middle Eastern I've ever met.
• 3:52
[SPEAKER_03]: That's really kind of like the source of your inspiration for your comedy gigs, right?
• 3:57
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a very big part of my character because it's a part of my experience and part of my life.
• 4:02
[SPEAKER_01]: And to be fair, you yourself, your background is Egyptian.
• 4:05
  [SPEAKER_03]: I'm Egyptian.
• 4:06
  [SPEAKER_01]: Think about it.
• 4:07
[SPEAKER_01]: If you go down from Iran up from Africa a little Egypt like that's how that works, you know, it's basically the same thing and actually one of my grandmother is my mother's mother is Egyptian she's an Egyptian newbie and she's Jewish Egyptian newbie and from Alexandria.
• 4:22
[SPEAKER_01]: So it's all part of the same
• 4:25
[SPEAKER_01]: Middle East North Africa diaspora.
• 4:28
[SPEAKER_01]: And the way it becomes part of my heritage and culture is because I grew up with this Iranian immigrant father and African-American mother and the collision of these two cultures and backgrounds and ethnicities and religions and all the things that happened in between.
• 4:46
[SPEAKER_01]: It was like it was like an atomic bomb, an explosion, and
• 4:49
[SPEAKER_01]: And out of that, I was the radioactive superhero that emerged.
• 4:53
[SPEAKER_01]: I was the person who then takes my experiences to the stage.
• 4:58
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not just so that people can relate to me.
• 5:01
[SPEAKER_01]: They relate through me because what you realize is that we're all way more alike than we are different.
• 5:07
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's how it is.
• 5:07
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure your parents said some of the exact same thing that my Iranian immigrant father said the same thing.
• 5:14
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I was never allowed to sleep over at a friend's house.
• 5:17
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, like for some reason they always thought that my father thought that that friend would kidnap me or think I'm homeless.
• 5:23
[SPEAKER_01]: Like I don't know why it was just those two choices.
• 5:25
[SPEAKER_01]: kind of experiences that a lot of first generation second generation, especially American ethnic diaspora has, are things that I bring to the stage.
• 5:34
[SPEAKER_01]: And it relates to everybody, whether you're Latino, black, Asian, Indian, whatever it is, we all have that same common story.
• 5:42
[SPEAKER_03]: You know what's really unique about you?
• 5:44
[SPEAKER_03]: You're the first comedian I ever met that's as educated as you are.
• 5:48
[SPEAKER_03]: You got a master's degree, you got a law degree.
• 5:50
[SPEAKER_03]: And then from there, you're like, you know, screw this, I just studied the last 28 years of my life.
• 5:55
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm putting all this to the side.
• 5:57
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm gonna go do comedy.
• 5:58
[SPEAKER_03]: I wanna ask you this.
• 6:00
[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for reminding me how much I owe thank you for bringing up course leave it up to the morgia to be like this is how much you still owe why would you put your money into this yeah you know what what is a half a mil on education don't please don't don't remind me did it get wiped out yet no no what happened FAFSA what happened
• 6:19
[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, so that's your mortgage right now.
• 6:21
  [SPEAKER_02]: It is, it is.
• 6:22
  [SPEAKER_02]: That's your life.
• 6:22
  [SPEAKER_03]: Exactly.
• 6:23
[SPEAKER_03]: So what did your parents say to you, coming from an Middle Eastern background, you went down the traditional Middle Eastern route.
• 6:29
[SPEAKER_03]: You did what they wanted.
• 6:30
  [SPEAKER_03]: You went to college.
• 6:31
[SPEAKER_03]: You went to law school.
• 6:32
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, not exactly what they wanted.
• 6:33
  [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't become a doctor.
• 6:34
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's all.
• 6:35
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, my dad still hopes.
• 6:37
  [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah.
• 6:38
[SPEAKER_01]: He still thinks I'm going to become a doctor.
• 6:40
  [SPEAKER_02]: Like, maybe Monday.
• 6:41
  [SPEAKER_02]: I might know.
• 6:42
  [SPEAKER_02]: It's that's done.
• 6:44
  [SPEAKER_02]: My dad's a doctor.
• 6:45
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, it's funny because if you're not a doctor,
• 6:49
[SPEAKER_03]: then you can become an engineer.
• 6:51
  [SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
• 6:51
  [SPEAKER_02]: Doctor, boy, you're engineer.
• 6:52
[SPEAKER_03]: Those are the ones I was like, ah, you're going to be a lawyer.
• 6:54
  [SPEAKER_01]: I'll take that.
• 6:55
  [SPEAKER_01]: It's exactly.
• 6:56
[SPEAKER_01]: It's the bottom of the way.
• 6:57
[SPEAKER_01]: And if you're not so smart, chiropractor, like you can just become a chiropractor.
• 7:00
[SPEAKER_01]: If you're not like the smartest person, it's chiropractor.
• 7:03
[SPEAKER_01]: We can still call you a doctor, even though the American Medical Association does it.
• 7:07
  [SPEAKER_01]: It's fine.
• 7:08
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, we can tell people your doctor.
• 7:10
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, when it comes to comedy, it's very interesting.
• 7:12
[SPEAKER_01]: Actually, Joe, a lot of comedians are very well-educated.
• 7:17
[SPEAKER_01]: There's two types of comedians.
• 7:18
[SPEAKER_01]: Some have law degrees, law degree is the number one.
• 7:22
[SPEAKER_01]: You'll see people like Jackie Fabulous and Shell Shepherd and all these people that actually do have law degrees in their into comedy.
• 7:27
  [SPEAKER_01]: It's a very similar skill set.
• 7:29
  [SPEAKER_01]: It's, I'm making a point.
• 7:30
[SPEAKER_01]: I am expressing myself and communicating as best as possible.
• 7:35
[SPEAKER_01]: On the flip side, you find a lot of auto-di-dactic comedians, people who are very self-educated.
• 7:41
[SPEAKER_01]: Some of the most educated people are comedians who are the modern-day philosophers and political scientists.
• 7:48
[SPEAKER_01]: It's comedians John Stewart, Dave Chappelle, Juan DeSychs.
• 7:51
[SPEAKER_01]: These are all people who have learned or took it upon themselves to learn, educate themselves, Trevor Noah, and then relay that information to the common man, the person watching at home.
• 8:04
  [SPEAKER_01]: on television.
• 8:05
[SPEAKER_01]: That's where you find the modern comedian because good comedy makes you laugh, but great comedy makes you think and these comedians are the ones who make you think the most.
• 8:15
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, my Iranian father does not think about comedy or about this.
• 8:21
[SPEAKER_01]: My writing father still hopes that I've become a doctor and when I pivoted from law school to comedy, there was definitely a conversation.
• 8:31
[SPEAKER_01]: But for him, me getting the degree was, hey, now you have something to fall back on and go, go for it.
• 8:39
[SPEAKER_01]: You're probably going to come back to this in a year, two years and now it's been over a decade and I think he's catching on ever since I bought their house for them.
• 8:47
[SPEAKER_01]: that maybe that I'm going to be staying in this path.
• 8:50
[SPEAKER_01]: So that's what I hope so at least, you know, even though he does tell my, my am and my aunt.
• 8:55
[SPEAKER_01]: He'd be like, yeah, 10 on almost stop there.
• 8:57
[SPEAKER_01]: Like no, no, almost doctored.
• 9:00
[SPEAKER_01]: No, Dr. Did you take the bar to him?
• 9:02
  [SPEAKER_01]: I did.
• 9:02
[SPEAKER_01]: I did all the things.
• 9:03
[SPEAKER_01]: I wanted to complete that chapter of my life before I got into comedy.
• 9:08
[SPEAKER_01]: And the thing about education is the three things you can never be overdressed, overprepared or overeducated.
• 9:15
  [SPEAKER_01]: You just can't.
• 9:16
[SPEAKER_01]: No one will ever say, oh, you're wearing a tuxedo, you're not allowed in 7-11.
• 9:20
[SPEAKER_01]: It's no shirt, no shoes.
• 9:21
[SPEAKER_01]: And so I feel the same way when it comes to education, especially when it comes to anyone who comes to the United States, whether they're minorities or immigrants or just Americans as a whole, we should be the most educated country because we have the most access to education.
• 9:38
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyone can go to community college.
• 9:40
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyone can go to divide if it takes Phoenix or whatever it is, we should use education as a tool to propel ourselves to wherever we would like to go.
• 9:49
[SPEAKER_01]: There's never a time where you thought, and we're like, ah, why am I too smart?
• 9:55
  [SPEAKER_01]: Ah, I'm Joe Sholaby.
• 9:56
[SPEAKER_01]: Why am I too smart?
• 9:58
[SPEAKER_01]: Your intelligence and your smartness and dedication to it is what led you to have like this huge company.
• 10:05
  [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know?
• 10:06
  [SPEAKER_03]: It's that's that work ethic mindset.
• 10:09
[SPEAKER_03]: The mindset of like ridiculous grit that my parents instilled in me, I mean, I started working on 14.
• 10:14
  [SPEAKER_03]: I said, my dad's 76.
• 10:15
  [SPEAKER_03]: He's still working like a dog.
• 10:16
  [SPEAKER_02]: That's how it works.
• 10:17
  [SPEAKER_02]: They've never stopped.
• 10:18
  [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
• 10:18
[SPEAKER_03]: And he's working, he's a doctor, he retired like 15 years ago.
• 10:24
[SPEAKER_03]: Took a job from the state, got his retirement from the state.
• 10:26
  [SPEAKER_03]: Took a job.
• 10:27
[SPEAKER_03]: And then he just took another job and like, they love it.
• 10:29
  [SPEAKER_01]: They love it.
• 10:30
  [SPEAKER_01]: They love it.
• 10:30
[SPEAKER_01]: My dad, okay, I will come home sometimes.
• 10:33
[SPEAKER_01]: My parents, my family lives in Washington, D.C.
• 10:35
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm based in LA now, but I'll go home.
• 10:38
[SPEAKER_01]: And my father will be asleep on the couch.
• 10:40
  [SPEAKER_01]: Like he's out.
• 10:41
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, they love to rub the head.
• 10:42
[SPEAKER_01]: They have to read the bolts about it.
• 10:43
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if your father is one of the bolts about it.
• 10:45
[SPEAKER_01]: But my father has the bolts about it.
• 10:47
[SPEAKER_01]: and he's rubbing the back of his head and he's clearly asleep and I'll be like, and I'll be quiet and I'll be like, Paba, and he'll be like, huh, I was like, oh, are you sleeping?
• 10:55
[SPEAKER_01]: You like, no, I was just thinking about more work, like what?
• 10:59
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I can't, it's okay to relax, but it's not in us, it's not.
• 11:04
[SPEAKER_03]: My dad's just like on a YouTube watching soccer.
• 11:08
[SPEAKER_03]: And that's, oh, yeah, oh.
• 11:10
  [SPEAKER_03]: With AirPods blasting.
• 11:12
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't even call it soccer around him.
• 11:14
[SPEAKER_01]: It's the only football if I don't call it football just loses his mind It's a foot.
• 11:18
  [SPEAKER_01]: It's a ball.
• 11:19
[SPEAKER_01]: You hit the ball with your foot.
• 11:21
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's the thing.
• 11:21
[SPEAKER_01]: They love it and they get into it That's the real you think that we're war no we're on the soccer field.
• 11:28
[SPEAKER_01]: You thought the USA Iran war was a thing If they play in the world in the world world cup, you'll see real war
• 11:36
  [SPEAKER_01]: real war.
• 11:37
[SPEAKER_01]: That's been all the all the things come out.
• 11:39
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's I don't know.
• 11:40
  [SPEAKER_01]: It's soccer.
• 11:41
  [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think they're going to play.
• 11:43
[SPEAKER_01]: I think with the political climate of what's going on right now, plus there's been talks of Iran removing themselves.
• 11:50
[SPEAKER_01]: Islamic Republic, we're moving the Iranian team and that's whole issue.
• 11:54
[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll see how it plays out.
• 11:56
[SPEAKER_01]: But there is a pride in football soccer that I've seen.
• 12:02
[SPEAKER_01]: in the world that I've never seen in anything else.
• 12:05
[SPEAKER_01]: I've never seen like, you know, people are like gay pride.
• 12:08
[SPEAKER_01]: No, has nothing on soccer pride.
• 12:10
[SPEAKER_01]: That's when it's actually the gayest thing.
• 12:12
[SPEAKER_01]: They dress up in all the colors and paint their faces.
• 12:15
  [SPEAKER_01]: Hello.
• 12:17
[SPEAKER_03]: And they go to war out there.
• 12:18
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, the fans are electric at those games.
• 12:21
  [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I've been an L.A.F.C.
• 12:22
  [SPEAKER_03]: game.
• 12:22
[SPEAKER_03]: I've been to, you know, the O.C.
• 12:24
[SPEAKER_03]: soccer club game and the fans are just, of course.
• 12:27
[SPEAKER_03]: Like I'm NBA playoff game every single time.
• 12:29
  [SPEAKER_03]: Every single game.
• 12:32
  [SPEAKER_02]: Score 1-0!
• 12:35
[SPEAKER_01]: It's one zero, but it's, but if you go to a soccer game, if you go to a football game, it is the most exciting.
• 12:43
[SPEAKER_01]: That energy is palpable in the stadium.
• 12:46
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just like, wow, it draws you in.
• 12:49
[SPEAKER_01]: You start chanting, you start chanting things.
• 12:51
[SPEAKER_01]: You didn't even know you knew the chance to.
• 12:53
[SPEAKER_01]: You're like, oh, Leo, Leo, like, how do I know that?
• 12:57
[SPEAKER_01]: Why do I know that?
• 12:58
[SPEAKER_03]: So I got a question to ask you about just growing up in a black and Persian family.
• 13:04
  [SPEAKER_03]: which one's crazier.
• 13:05
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's the thing.
• 13:06
[SPEAKER_01]: It's different types of crazy Joe.
• 13:08
[SPEAKER_01]: It's different types of that.
• 13:09
[SPEAKER_01]: I would say where the craziest Middle Eastern is always the craziest, but you would love to say that, but everyone has their type of crazy.
• 13:16
[SPEAKER_01]: Do I think it's crazy that there are some white American families that eat dinner at 5 p.m. Yeah, that's insane.
• 13:23
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's insane.
• 13:24
[SPEAKER_01]: Especially coming from a place where I didn't know where the wind dinner was.
• 13:28
  [SPEAKER_01]: Was it 8 p.m. was it 10?
• 13:29
[SPEAKER_01]: Was it after Jay Leno?
• 13:31
[SPEAKER_01]: It was whenever they told us, you know?
• 13:33
[SPEAKER_01]: So I was like a third grader going to school like, oh, it was up till 2 a.m. You know?
• 13:37
[SPEAKER_01]: So it's just a different type of crazy.
• 13:40
  [SPEAKER_01]: So when you have
• 13:42
[SPEAKER_01]: black when you have black families.
• 13:44
  [SPEAKER_01]: Black families are big.
• 13:45
  [SPEAKER_01]: Black families are rampantious.
• 13:47
[SPEAKER_01]: You have the, you have the different types of uncles.
• 13:50
[SPEAKER_01]: Once the successful uncle, once the weeler dealer uncle, you know, is he selling cars?
• 13:56
  [SPEAKER_01]: Is he selling crack?
• 13:57
  [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what's going on.
• 13:59
  [SPEAKER_01]: You have all those.
• 13:59
[SPEAKER_01]: You have the aunts, three of the aunts, two of the aunts have kids that are going to
• 14:08
[SPEAKER_01]: refuses to admit that this child is the devil refuses like my baby.
• 14:13
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, your baby is Satan like it's a whole conversation, right?
• 14:17
[SPEAKER_01]: And then on the Iranian side also big families also big families, but then it's also a little bit removed because I have a lot of family and Iran So I've only heard them over the phone more than experience them in personal and in real life, but the ones that come in
• 14:34
[SPEAKER_01]: It's always the same thing, is it crazy to be like, no, you eat it, you eat it, will you like some and it's like, I don't want the piece of pizza that you just put in your mouth and you're now dangling in my face.
• 14:45
  [SPEAKER_01]: I don't want that, thank you.
• 14:46
[SPEAKER_01]: No, eat it, eat it.
• 14:48
[SPEAKER_01]: It's all just different types of crazy, but it's all good energy, positivity and it's fun.
• 14:53
[SPEAKER_01]: That hopefulness and that fun is something that unifies through all the cultures.
• 14:58
[SPEAKER_01]: So did you get like some cool like black fusion middle eastern food like a goobaday with like, you know, fried chicken Okay, so it's like it Persian black fusion no, but there was Persian black
• 15:15
  [SPEAKER_01]: spread.
• 15:16
[SPEAKER_01]: So there was situations where there were like colored greens, fried chicken, soul food, alongside Persian food, corn, masapsi, kubi, and zedish polo.
• 15:26
[SPEAKER_01]: So that it was like the spread.
• 15:28
[SPEAKER_01]: And so it was almost like they were keeping score on who's eating what?
• 15:33
[SPEAKER_01]: And that was a whole thing.
• 15:34
[SPEAKER_01]: And that would become the basis of afterwards.
• 15:38
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you know, more people ate the kubi,
• 15:43
[SPEAKER_01]: Like what what I didn't know we were keeping score.
• 15:45
[SPEAKER_03]: We were keeping score like that for uh for Thanksgiving You know like we have American spread and we'd have the Egyptian spread and like booze eat and what what's your favorite Egypt from food for me and it's very similar to Kubitice called kofta It's the same thing like Kubitay, but it has
• 16:02
  [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it's arguably maybe better.
• 16:03
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, okay, all right, let me, let me explain, okay, look, and here's the thing.
• 16:08
[SPEAKER_01]: I can't even, I can't even get on your case too much because you're Egyptian.
• 16:12
[SPEAKER_01]: So out of all of the groups, Egyptians and Persians are the two oldest in that region.
• 16:18
  [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's true.
• 16:18
[SPEAKER_01]: Oldest nations, continuous nations on earth, and so you get a pass.
• 16:24
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, because if a Kuwaiti sets up thing, I might be like, oh, give me back my oil, you know?
• 16:29
[SPEAKER_01]: But like, okay, fine, I get it, because you don't know who made what food?
• 16:35
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, like, I think that the big conflict, the tragic conflict between Israel and Palestine really has to do with hummus.
• 16:45
[SPEAKER_01]: Like who made hummus, you know what I'm saying?
• 16:48
[SPEAKER_01]: That's why they're hummus, like it's hummus, who made the hummus?
• 16:51
[SPEAKER_01]: Because you will fight over that.
• 16:53
[SPEAKER_01]: And they have a salad called Israeli salad that in Iran, we call Shirazi salad from a city called Shiraz, and we will fight to the death over this.
• 17:01
[SPEAKER_01]: This is literally, this is really what these things and the same way the conflict's great over food, I really feel like the peace can be made over food.
• 17:10
[SPEAKER_01]: If we all just came together and a big,
• 17:13
[SPEAKER_01]: big dinner and they had kufi and kubi did and we got to eat them and not know which one is which because we really wouldn't Unless someone told us, you know, you could taste his efforts.
• 17:22
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, you know, kubi didn't have as much seasoning.
• 17:25
  [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I will listen Listen, I
• 17:28
[SPEAKER_01]: I will fight you right now.
• 17:29
  [SPEAKER_01]: I won't, you know what?
• 17:31
[SPEAKER_01]: I will not pay my mortgage and you will feel that burn, okay?
• 17:35
  [SPEAKER_01]: It is delit, kubia.
• 17:36
[SPEAKER_01]: Kufda has a little too much seasoning, okay?
• 17:39
  [SPEAKER_01]: I have a question.
• 17:40
[SPEAKER_01]: I've ever tried to make out with someone after you had some kufda.
• 17:43
[SPEAKER_01]: It's see how fast they repel you.
• 17:45
[SPEAKER_01]: It's basically bear spray, you're just like,
• 17:49
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the garlic and that's what I'm saying.
• 17:51
  [SPEAKER_03]: Exactly.
• 17:52
  [SPEAKER_03]: Exactly.
• 17:53
[SPEAKER_03]: I guess for our date, you know, COVID-A may be more reasonable.
• 17:56
  [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much.
• 17:57
[SPEAKER_01]: It's the date food, more importantly, which one are you taking as lunch?
• 18:02
  [SPEAKER_01]: When you're a kid, you're in fourth grade.
• 18:04
[SPEAKER_01]: You're taking lunch to school.
• 18:06
[SPEAKER_01]: You know how bad COVID-A and or a COVID-A smell, they're like, they hold in them.
• 18:11
  [SPEAKER_01]: I'm so bad.
• 18:14
  [SPEAKER_03]: I'm so bad.
• 18:15
  [SPEAKER_03]: I'm so bad.
• 18:17
[SPEAKER_03]: And then there's another one we have called Pani, it's like a skirt stakes and it's fried, it's breaded.
• 18:23
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh yeah, that's the list.
• 18:24
[SPEAKER_03]: We just have that too.
• 18:25
[SPEAKER_01]: We have a version of that, but that the way it's made down that season perfectly.
• 18:30
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's sauteed.
• 18:31
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah, that's one of my favorite dishes.
• 18:33
  [SPEAKER_03]: That one's too strong.
• 18:35
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, listen, I'm a fan of all Middle Eastern food.
• 18:38
[SPEAKER_03]: One of our favorite places here in Orange County is Penini.
• 18:40
[SPEAKER_03]: Obviously, the chain is great.
• 18:42
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, we had it here last week.
• 18:43
[SPEAKER_03]: You could have came here.
• 18:44
  [SPEAKER_01]: It's a thing.
• 18:45
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just saying, I don't feel like enough Americans have had Middle Eastern food.
• 18:50
[SPEAKER_01]: Had they eaten Middle Eastern food?
• 18:53
[SPEAKER_01]: they wouldn't want to bomb the whole Middle East.
• 18:55
[SPEAKER_01]: They would be like, oh, who has the good food?
• 18:58
[SPEAKER_01]: You never want to bomb places, you have great food from.
• 19:02
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyone want to go to war with Italy?
• 19:04
  [SPEAKER_01]: You know?
• 19:04
[SPEAKER_01]: No, because once we were like, oh no, we hate Mussolini, but the spaghetti!
• 19:09
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, once that hits, you're good.
• 19:12
[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm telling you, the world can be fixed through food.
• 19:15
[SPEAKER_03]: That's a lot of truth to that.
• 19:17
  [SPEAKER_03]: Hopefully, hopefully this, uh,
• 19:18
[SPEAKER_03]: This drama and Iran happens and ends over some kubadi.
• 19:22
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's the thing right now with everything going on in Iran.
• 19:25
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's so funny because my name is Tehran.
• 19:28
[SPEAKER_01]: And I wear it with pride if you don't know.
• 19:30
  [SPEAKER_01]: Like I, it's, I brand it.
• 19:32
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm the only Iranian person named Tehran in the world.
• 19:35
[SPEAKER_01]: So it's something I, and I could have easily been Tyrone by the way.
• 19:38
[SPEAKER_01]: My Iranian father named Tehran, my black mother, this close to naming me content.
• 19:43
[SPEAKER_01]: I swear, like you wanted to just, I don't know, they just wanted to make sure I never got through airport security, like that's what they were hoping.
• 19:49
[SPEAKER_01]: Like you're a Joe, Joe's are walking right through airport security.
• 19:52
[SPEAKER_01]: Every time I go, colonoscopy, you understand?
• 19:54
  [SPEAKER_01]: They're like searching everything.
• 19:57
[SPEAKER_01]: So when they named me Tehran, I became one of those people who was very proud of having that culture in that background.
• 20:06
[SPEAKER_01]: I've been a very big opponent of the Islamic Republic regime.
• 20:11
[SPEAKER_01]: That government, it's abusive, it's oppressive, it's corrupt, it's all the things, and sure all governments are, all governments are to a degree, but this is just, this is they're horrible.
• 20:23
[SPEAKER_01]: And so I've been very big on speaking up and being the voice of people inside Iran who want to be free from this government.
• 20:29
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not, it's not the people it's not even the politics, it's over these principles, freedom of speech, the things we take for granted in this country.
• 20:37
[SPEAKER_01]: People don't realize like, for all the faults we have in America, America's an amazingly wonderful place.
• 20:43
[SPEAKER_01]: America is the best country, when you compare it.
• 20:46
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just not great when you compare it to what America should and could be.
• 20:50
[SPEAKER_01]: because of who it is, this liberty and justice for all, but those ideas are things that I wish we had and other countries and other places, whether it's Iran or anywhere else where we have that.
• 21:02
[SPEAKER_01]: And I've been a very big advocate for the people I've run and I wear my hat before no a new
• 21:11
[SPEAKER_01]: What Tehran man they did it know some people would see the name Tehran and still call me Tyrone They would still call me Tyrone like your name is spelled wrong exactly like they really felt they were like Oh black people spelled anything anyway, you know I know a girl named Absida and it spelled ABCDE like that's just literally how it was But then now people come up to me and they all have learned what Tehran is because of the news and they come up to me and they're like oh I support you
• 21:37
[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, it's not a political statement, it's just my name.
• 21:40
  [SPEAKER_01]: It's just who I am.
• 21:42
[SPEAKER_01]: So I've become the expert now on all things he's wrong.
• 21:45
  [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm really not.
• 21:46
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm learning myself, you know?
• 21:47
[SPEAKER_03]: I just can't imagine being the only black person dude you ever grew up with.
• 21:53
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I experienced reverse racism as a white dude in a basically newbie in community.
• 21:58
[SPEAKER_03]: And, you know, I got made fun of it.
• 22:00
  [SPEAKER_03]: In Egypt.
• 22:01
[SPEAKER_03]: No, in here in the US.
• 22:02
  [SPEAKER_03]: In the US.
• 22:02
[SPEAKER_03]: So when I immigrated, and Egypt, everybody loved me.
• 22:04
[SPEAKER_03]: I was like the golden child in front of me.
• 22:06
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, look at this kid.
• 22:07
[SPEAKER_03]: He's the first white kid I've ever in this kid.
• 22:09
[SPEAKER_03]: They're like, oh, oh, oh, he must be Jesus.
• 22:12
[SPEAKER_03]: They didn't even know, you know?
• 22:14
[SPEAKER_03]: And then I come to America, I'm like, man, these kids are so mean to me.
• 22:16
  [SPEAKER_03]: Everybody's dark.
• 22:17
[SPEAKER_03]: I was living in Belflower, you know?
• 22:19
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, so Belflower along Beach, come on.
• 22:21
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, you were in the hood, bro.
• 22:22
[SPEAKER_01]: I was in the hood.
• 22:23
[SPEAKER_01]: Why didn't you drop a rap album?
• 22:25
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I was, you know, identity crisis.
• 22:27
[SPEAKER_03]: Thought I was Eminem for a while.
• 22:28
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, I could see that.
• 22:30
[SPEAKER_01]: I could feel that Eminem, give me an Eminem first right now.
• 22:33
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, no, no, you know one, you know one, wrap it out.
• 22:37
  [SPEAKER_02]: Wrap it out.
• 22:38
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just us, we're, it's coffees with Joe Sholaby.
• 22:41
  [SPEAKER_02]: Let's see.
• 22:42
[SPEAKER_01]: Give us the one, give us the one.
• 22:44
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't give it, if it's dark or not, give me something.
• 22:47
[SPEAKER_02]: You better move yourself to the music.
• 22:49
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you better buy, but you know tough.
• 22:52
[SPEAKER_02]: You know all the words though.
• 22:53
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, when it comes on in the car, you know all the words.
• 22:55
[SPEAKER_03]: You know what, if it came out, the song played right now, I probably know it by hand.
• 22:58
  [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
• 22:59
  [SPEAKER_02]: You wouldn't know.
• 22:59
[SPEAKER_02]: You put me on the spine.
• 23:00
[SPEAKER_02]: Eight mile per, when eight mile came out, you were getting out.
• 23:02
  [SPEAKER_02]: You were beat rabbit.
• 23:03
  [SPEAKER_02]: You were beat rabbit.
• 23:04
  [SPEAKER_03]: You were beat rabbit.
• 23:06
[SPEAKER_03]: Every Eminem song was very, very relatable to me because he was a white dude trying to be black in the hood.
• 23:11
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's how it works.
• 23:13
[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't even so much.
• 23:14
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a see a lot of people think it's like being white trying to be black.
• 23:17
  [SPEAKER_01]: It's actually just a cultural thing.
• 23:19
[SPEAKER_01]: You are for some part, a product of your environment, no matter who you are.
• 23:23
[SPEAKER_01]: If I took Billy Bob and I raised Billy Bob without him knowing it in the middle of Mumbai, he would have an Indian accent like he, that's not how it were.
• 23:31
[SPEAKER_01]: He'd be like, I don't know, how are you?
• 23:33
[SPEAKER_01]: And it'd be because he's raised in that environment.
• 23:36
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just people need to realize that.
• 23:38
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not just about race.
• 23:40
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a lot of times about where you are.
• 23:43
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, growing up as a white guy in the hood, it was very relatable to me to try to be black.
• 23:49
[SPEAKER_03]: It was just like, that's just how you wanted it.
• 23:50
[SPEAKER_01]: But that's because you were in a black hood.
• 23:51
[SPEAKER_01]: There are a lot of white guys who grew up in white hoods and they just become bigger rednecks.
• 23:55
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, we're not, let's not pretend like a lot of Alabama's not the hood.
• 23:59
  [SPEAKER_01]: Have you been there?
• 24:00
[SPEAKER_01]: Like trailer parks are also hood.
• 24:02
  [SPEAKER_01]: You know, there's a lot, I've watched a lot of cops.
• 24:04
[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of mess in the hood.
• 24:06
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, mess is the white crack.
• 24:08
[SPEAKER_01]: Like you get the same thing.
• 24:10
[SPEAKER_01]: Same thing, less energy, worse teeth.
• 24:12
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, let's be very honest, right?
• 24:14
[SPEAKER_01]: So it's just where you are, but I love that you grew up with that dichotomy, because you're basically, you have that fusion of cultures, too.
• 24:22
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, being Egyptian and coming here, because you were born in Egypt.
• 24:27
  [SPEAKER_01]: It's born in Egypt.
• 24:27
  [SPEAKER_01]: And then came here.
• 24:28
  [SPEAKER_03]: Then came here.
• 24:29
[SPEAKER_01]: Which is once again, wow, America.
• 24:32
[SPEAKER_01]: Immigrant comes to this country Probably leaving everything behind comes here has nothing obviously because you live in a bellflower no fits So now like you didn't move from Egypt and go to Beverly Hills you went to bellflower.
• 24:43
[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm gonna go on a limb and be like, oh, you guys didn't have it We're for it
• 24:47
[SPEAKER_01]: you didn't leave with it even you know how to start over but what kept you in there first of all the education your your family having that education they can never take it from you second of all the work ethic right and third of all just your commitment and dedication to living in this country and being able to utilize it to the best of your abilities and opportunities.
• 25:07
[SPEAKER_03]: that's right actually my book all rising from the sand is all about coming from dirt poor country and now live in a new title living in a new poor beach the the nicest place in the world you know so having the ability to rise from absolute poverty into absolute abundance and you can only really do it here i mean in need to put it into your make 200 pounds of there's a ceiling a week exactly which is like 40 bucks
• 25:31
  [SPEAKER_01]: It's not a lot.
• 25:31
  [SPEAKER_01]: There's a ceiling.
• 25:32
  [SPEAKER_01]: People don't realize there's a ceiling everywhere else.
• 25:35
[SPEAKER_01]: In the United States, and I say this as a real patriot, but more importantly, it's not everyone is seen the rest of us.
• 25:41
[SPEAKER_01]: We see a lot of people, and it's not about right wing left wing, it's the same bird.
• 25:46
[SPEAKER_01]: You see a lot of people who haven't seen the world outside.
• 25:49
[SPEAKER_01]: Or they'll be like, have you been overseas?
• 25:51
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I've been to Canada.
• 25:52
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's just America 2.0.
• 25:53
[SPEAKER_01]: Honestly, five years, 51st state.
• 25:55
  [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
• 25:56
[SPEAKER_01]: But you've never been to other places where you're looking at the world and saying, wow, this is what this is when we say poor, that's where this is what poor really looks like.
• 26:08
[SPEAKER_01]: When you're in the hood in America, you still have things like, I don't know, running water.
• 26:14
[SPEAKER_01]: Little Umbutu does not have that in some random country and in Africa they don't and living in a village.
• 26:20
[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't have that having that running water would already be an advantage.
• 26:23
[SPEAKER_01]: So the fact that you were able to utilize that, just coming here.
• 26:29
[SPEAKER_01]: Did you know the language?
• 26:30
[SPEAKER_01]: Did you know English when you came here?
• 26:31
[SPEAKER_03]: No, no, it was my second language.
• 26:33
  [SPEAKER_03]: So I came here.
• 26:33
[SPEAKER_03]: I had to go to ESL too.
• 26:34
  [SPEAKER_03]: Add that.
• 26:35
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, like why is this white kid not not speaking?
• 26:38
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you did not speak English.
• 26:39
[SPEAKER_02]: You're in the, you're getting raised about flower.
• 26:42
[SPEAKER_02]: We started in like a really bad part of that nice.
• 26:44
[SPEAKER_02]: Then moved to North Hollywood.
• 26:46
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you're in a really bad part of Van Nye's called Van Nye's.
• 26:49
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's how it works.
• 26:50
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's not a Nye wasn't.
• 26:52
[SPEAKER_01]: Listen, you don't have to, you don't have to impress up.
• 26:55
[SPEAKER_01]: I get it from the sand bro.
• 26:57
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, like you went from, you went from Cairo to Van Nye's, basically kind of like a lateral move, you know?
• 27:03
[SPEAKER_01]: I always think it's funny when people move from the Middle East to like Detroit.
• 27:05
[SPEAKER_01]: Like how I did it.
• 27:07
[SPEAKER_01]: You're like, you're waking up and it's still war torn.
• 27:09
[SPEAKER_01]: Like why are we here?
• 27:10
  [SPEAKER_01]: You know, that's a lateral move.
• 27:12
  [SPEAKER_01]: So,
• 27:13
[SPEAKER_01]: Then you got in, but my, the real reason I ask you is because
• 27:18
[SPEAKER_01]: I've always wanted a better business mind.
• 27:20
[SPEAKER_01]: I've always won that, and for you to develop that, where did that come from?
• 27:24
[SPEAKER_03]: For me, my business mind came from just honestly, throwing events at a young age.
• 27:29
[SPEAKER_03]: I started throwing parties at 14 years ago.
• 27:30
  [SPEAKER_01]: I was a party thing.
• 27:31
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and I looked at parties as my conduit.
• 27:34
[SPEAKER_03]: I started my first, I leveraged my ability to network with other middle Eastern owners.
• 27:41
[SPEAKER_03]: So my first party, I threw it at a hook bar.
• 27:42
  [SPEAKER_03]: I was 14 years old.
• 27:43
[SPEAKER_03]: A hook bar, of course.
• 27:45
  [SPEAKER_01]: OK.
• 27:45
[SPEAKER_01]: and say you're Egyptian without saying your Egyptian.
• 27:47
[SPEAKER_03]: I think I had a hookah bar and I had like vision.
• 27:51
[SPEAKER_03]: I was the first person to bring like a full night club to hookah bar.
• 27:54
[SPEAKER_03]: I had belly dancers and fire breathers and people were like, how old were the you're you're in high school?
• 27:59
  [SPEAKER_03]: They're all young kids.
• 28:00
[SPEAKER_03]: I'll you 16 years old because there was no aves them in on on hookah bars.
• 28:04
  [SPEAKER_01]: Oh wow.
• 28:04
[SPEAKER_03]: So I started throwing events at hookabars and then I moved it to another then I started I tested out a high school early and then I started I moved it to night clubs and I also the owners of the night club It's called Lama Raj and three those next to his college.
• 28:20
[SPEAKER_03]: We were middle Eastern so I was able to leverage my ethnicity, my language.
• 28:23
[SPEAKER_03]: I spoke Arabic to these people.
• 28:25
[SPEAKER_03]: Everyone's like, wow this white kid speaks Arabic just probably similar to you.
• 28:28
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it speaks pregnancy people lose their minds.
• 28:31
  [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
• 28:32
[SPEAKER_03]: So people lose their minds when a white guy speaks full and Arabic, and especially other business owners.
• 28:37
[SPEAKER_03]: And I would come with, you know, lots of charm, lots of energy, and they would just have faith in me.
• 28:43
[SPEAKER_03]: And like, listen, here's my track record.
• 28:44
[SPEAKER_03]: I've done events here, I've done it this year.
• 28:46
[SPEAKER_03]: So I started chasing during events for the really young, and that kind of catapult to me.
• 28:51
[SPEAKER_03]: Plus, I was always wanting to make money at a very young age.
• 28:54
[SPEAKER_03]: what but why it not just because a lot of people just think money oh I want to make money I want I just saw like I came from poverty and I had friends who were wealthy and I'm like I just I don't want to live like this you know like my biggest loss was as a kid seven years old I remember losing seven dollars and I keep that and that hurt me for years I still talk about it I feel like I'm not seven and I lost seven dollars and how do you lose it just I felt like yeah I just lost it and it was in the garage and you know I'm like where's my money?
• 29:21
  [SPEAKER_03]: Where's my money?
• 29:22
  [SPEAKER_03]: I lost seven dollars
• 29:23
[SPEAKER_03]: grew up my whole life, you know, pay less shoes, everything's on clearance, that's sort of lifestyle, hand me downs.
• 29:29
[SPEAKER_03]: So I just knew that there was a better life out there.
• 29:32
[SPEAKER_03]: I had friends who were, I mean, now they'd be upper middle class in today's standards, but to me they were upper class and bigger houses.
• 29:39
[SPEAKER_03]: And I just knew that there was a better way than what I was doing.
• 29:41
[SPEAKER_03]: My dad was a doctor, but when we came to the states, he was just like he started off as a gas station attendant.
• 29:47
[SPEAKER_01]: because that doctor didn't matter once you come here.
• 29:49
  [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it doesn't matter.
• 29:50
[SPEAKER_01]: It happens to a lot of immigrant families where it's like over there you were a general and here you're a janitor and these kids are like shut up, Mr. Oh my gosh, you're like I would kill you in my God would kill everybody you know.
• 30:02
[SPEAKER_01]: Like you know, so it just becomes a it becomes a culture clash of that, especially in that environment and you grew up with that mindset.
• 30:11
[SPEAKER_01]: So for me, money means freedom.
• 30:13
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's why But that's the thing.
• 30:16
  [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think education is freedom.
• 30:19
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, education is freedom mentally, but Financial money means we're like you can be very educated and homeless like I'm sure there's a couple professors in Skid Row right now
• 30:29
[SPEAKER_01]: They're like, but he does he claims he's queer, like it's like great bro, but with that freedom for me, some people chase money.
• 30:37
[SPEAKER_01]: I never wanted to chase money.
• 30:38
[SPEAKER_01]: I wanted to just be more free.
• 30:41
[SPEAKER_01]: So was money like a freeing thing for you?
• 30:44
  [SPEAKER_01]: It was for some.
• 30:45
  [SPEAKER_03]: It was for you.
• 30:45
[SPEAKER_03]: It was just like, I can get out of this oppressed state.
• 30:50
[SPEAKER_03]: And I wasn't really, it wasn't oppressed, but I was like, you know, we're always just like, no, you can't do this.
• 30:54
[SPEAKER_03]: Now you can, I got to beg for years just to get a video game, right?
• 30:59
[SPEAKER_03]: So now my kids like,
• 31:01
[SPEAKER_03]: I just bought a $5,000 sign Kobe auto patch card for me.
• 31:06
[SPEAKER_03]: My son's collection is gonna have $4 million collection.
• 31:10
[SPEAKER_03]: The kids just like, dead were flipping cards.
• 31:12
  [SPEAKER_03]: I'm 10xing your money.
• 31:13
  [SPEAKER_03]: I'm like, no, I'm investing.
• 31:15
[SPEAKER_03]: You're just a beneficiary of this business strategy.
• 31:18
  [SPEAKER_03]: But it's cool.
• 31:19
[SPEAKER_03]: I get to teach my kids entrepreneurship now and how to leverage and stuff like that.
• 31:23
[SPEAKER_03]: But I would have never imagined a million years to be where I'm at now.
• 31:27
[SPEAKER_01]: Do you ever think that?
• 31:29
[SPEAKER_01]: because when I see sometimes I'll see like in Beverly Hills, there's these kids and it's like mommy and daddy's rich and you're just living off mommy and daddy.
• 31:38
[SPEAKER_01]: You didn't go through what they went through.
• 31:40
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, whether it's the hustle, the bustle, the work, whatever it is, are you ever afraid your kids are going to do that?
• 31:48
[SPEAKER_01]: Because if I had like, if I had money, like Robin Williams did this thing, comedian Robin Williams,
• 31:54
[SPEAKER_01]: He gave, left all the money for Zelda and all his other children, but said, they can't get him until they're 24 and they have to work one year at a job that pays less than $30,000.
• 32:07
[SPEAKER_01]: So Zelda worked at a coffee shop.
• 32:10
[SPEAKER_01]: She was just a coffee shop cashier and then barista and made that $30,000 for a year and then when she got her money, she was like, I'm so glad, like I hated it and now I'm so glad my father made me do that.
• 32:25
[SPEAKER_03]: I ask the question, how do you raise your kids to a lot of my guests on this show?
• 32:30
[SPEAKER_03]: And it is a real thing because the oppression coming from poverty, that was like a superpower.
• 32:37
[SPEAKER_03]: Not enabled me to have a different mindset.
• 32:39
[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm always, so how do my kids who are born in abundance, raise an abundance, grow up in abundance?
• 32:46
[SPEAKER_03]: How are they gonna have the same mindset and grip mentality?
• 32:49
[SPEAKER_03]: So that's something I deal with, and I have many strategies as to how I,
• 32:54
  [SPEAKER_03]: tackle them.
• 32:54
  [SPEAKER_01]: You're a strategy person.
• 32:55
  [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think it's like a strategy.
• 32:57
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so so for me like a big part of it number one is like they're they had the same grind I do they crack a dawn they're at school then from school then it's sports and it's martial arts and it's Kuma and then it's like so they're basically busy eight to eight and then on weekends it's like church activities and then like this weekend
• 33:15
[SPEAKER_03]: We're sports cards, collectors, memorabilia collectors, we aggregate all that, and then they're setting up a booth at church, and they're going to sell all the product, hopefully we raise a 100 grand and it all goes to the church.
• 33:26
[SPEAKER_03]: So like, but they're slinging it.
• 33:27
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, like, we did the card show this weekend.
• 33:29
  [SPEAKER_03]: They got real money.
• 33:30
[SPEAKER_03]: Now we're doing the church card show, and then it's all going to the church.
• 33:33
  [SPEAKER_03]: So I love that.
• 33:34
[SPEAKER_03]: So it's just, you know, kind of instilling that, and then centralizing their focus on God.
• 33:40
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's there's a comedian T.K.
• 33:42
[SPEAKER_01]: Kirkland who says who raised you because it's very important, like the way people act as a reflection of who their parents were.
• 33:48
[SPEAKER_01]: So I can imagine your children just being these like young stars.
• 33:53
  [SPEAKER_03]: They're savages.
• 33:54
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean my son Theo, he was walk around the car chill last week.
• 33:57
  [SPEAKER_03]: He had a microscope.
• 33:58
[SPEAKER_03]: He was looking at every single car.
• 33:59
[SPEAKER_03]: He was like, and grinding the people on cost.
• 34:03
  [SPEAKER_03]: Like so he's a savage negotiator.
• 34:05
  [SPEAKER_01]: I love that.
• 34:05
  [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going great.
• 34:07
[SPEAKER_01]: You have a microscope, kid.
• 34:09
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's what you did.
• 34:10
[SPEAKER_01]: Is it all in one of the stuff?
• 34:11
[SPEAKER_01]: I have a fine glass, like why are we doing this?
• 34:13
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want this kid to buy my car.
• 34:15
  [SPEAKER_01]: It's like, oh, that's the dealer.
• 34:16
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, oh, no, not the theo, kid.
• 34:18
  [SPEAKER_01]: Hey, theo.
• 34:20
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so he's working these kids for me.
• 34:23
[SPEAKER_03]: These people, and I got all the kids kind of in that same mindset.
• 34:26
[SPEAKER_03]: So I had to pivot to Pokemon as well because I get all four kids.
• 34:30
[SPEAKER_03]: It has way more margin.
• 34:31
[SPEAKER_01]: The Pokemon cards, these kids love these Pokemon cards.
• 34:34
[SPEAKER_03]: you have no idea the portion of people's iris will be invested in Pokemon in the next couple years hedge funds are buying Pokemon cards.
• 34:41
  [SPEAKER_03]: See, balting them.
• 34:42
[SPEAKER_01]: This is why sometimes I get annoyed at having like a Persian dad black mom because I'm sure that there are cards, baseball cards, Pokemon cards.
• 34:53
[SPEAKER_01]: They do a siblings' profit.
• 34:54
  [SPEAKER_01]: Comic books.
• 34:55
[SPEAKER_01]: I know for a fact I had some number ones that are value and they just didn't understand about because they only know what they know You know, so they're the trash Oh, they threw the they wouldn't wait to throw them away, you know, it's like well you just threw away my 401k I'll be happy.
• 35:11
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's that's a building.
• 35:12
[SPEAKER_01]: That could have been a building because they understand building Now the parents understand good now the show.
• 35:18
  [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah now they're like
• 35:19
[SPEAKER_01]: Why are you going to school?
• 35:20
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's get back on that twitch.
• 35:22
  [SPEAKER_01]: Come on, Jimmy.
• 35:23
[SPEAKER_01]: Come on, Jimmy, Jr. Let's get on that twitch stream.
• 35:26
  [SPEAKER_01]: We don't need a read.
• 35:27
[SPEAKER_01]: We don't, AI will read for you.
• 35:28
  [SPEAKER_01]: Let's get back on.
• 35:29
[SPEAKER_01]: Get back on the street.
• 35:30
  [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
• 35:31
[SPEAKER_02]: Get back on the street on that stream.
• 35:32
  [SPEAKER_03]: That's right.
• 35:33
[SPEAKER_03]: A lot of parents understand the power of building their own personal brand.
• 35:36
  [SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
• 35:38
[SPEAKER_03]: Matter of fact, no CEO can get away with not having a social media presence now.
• 35:43
[SPEAKER_01]: So 100% I mean, they're going to be a time where your kids born and the same time you give them a name.
• 35:48
[SPEAKER_01]: You get their Instagram handle already.
• 35:51
  [SPEAKER_01]: Same time like it.
• 35:52
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you get that right then because if not,
• 35:54
[SPEAKER_03]: I'll turn out so you can get it and charge him a hundred grand for it.
• 35:56
  [SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of comedians, okay?
• 35:58
[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of comedians who are great.
• 36:03
[SPEAKER_01]: I bought their dot coms before because I saw the value.
• 36:07
[SPEAKER_01]: If they don't see the value in themselves, they'll just have to pay me for it.
• 36:10
[SPEAKER_01]: And there's a lot of comedians I won't say their names, but it's very big comedians right now who have had to get their domain names for me.
• 36:16
  [SPEAKER_02]: Look at you.
• 36:17
  [SPEAKER_02]: That's a real thing.
• 36:18
  [SPEAKER_02]: Who paid the most?
• 36:19
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, they'll say it the next day.
• 36:20
[SPEAKER_02]: How much of the most you got?
• 36:21
[SPEAKER_01]: Honestly, honestly, I've been very nice to the ones who are my friends.
• 36:26
[SPEAKER_01]: So the biggest ones happen to be the people who are my friends.
• 36:29
[SPEAKER_01]: And so they've paid what I could have probably got tens of thousands of thousands of dollars for.
• 36:36
[SPEAKER_01]: I gave them at cost.
• 36:39
[SPEAKER_03]: So they are because life-long friends will do shows for you for free now, probably.
• 36:43
  [SPEAKER_01]: They only show.
• 36:43
[SPEAKER_01]: I tell them, hey, when I have a line up and I need you, you're on the show.
• 36:47
[SPEAKER_01]: But then there's, you know, there's a comedian who paid me $15,000.
• 36:52
[SPEAKER_01]: Another one has paid me $25,000 worth of agency paid $25,000 for their website and I paid what.
• 36:58
  [SPEAKER_01]: $40 on GoDaddy?
• 37:00
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's like... Comedians, you now know this guy is chasing your name.
• 37:03
  [SPEAKER_03]: Oh yeah, thank you.
• 37:05
[SPEAKER_01]: Listen, I tell people, like if you don't think you're going to make it, that's on you.
• 37:10
[SPEAKER_01]: I see the potential in you.
• 37:12
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what it is to be a trendsetter.
• 37:14
[SPEAKER_01]: I see it site beyond site.
• 37:16
[SPEAKER_01]: I see in you what you don't see in yourself yet.
• 37:19
[SPEAKER_01]: Because the greats always know they're great before anyone else.
• 37:22
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's how you become a great.
• 37:24
[SPEAKER_01]: it's a it's the best kept secret you know what it is and if you get frustrated by it it becomes very difficult it happens to the best of us comedy is a path any art but especially comedy because with something like music
• 37:39
[SPEAKER_01]: with music you can say, oh, well, I'm a talented musician.
• 37:43
[SPEAKER_01]: I can do this note.
• 37:44
  [SPEAKER_01]: I can do this.
• 37:45
[SPEAKER_01]: And while it's subjective, there is a mitigating level of this is what music is.
• 37:51
[SPEAKER_01]: So if you have a good voice, you know that you have this much percent chance.
• 37:55
  [SPEAKER_01]: Comedy is all subjective.
• 37:57
[SPEAKER_01]: What's funny today may not be funny tomorrow, what is offensive today may be exactly what happens tomorrow.
• 38:04
  [SPEAKER_01]: There is no A to Z.
• 38:06
  [SPEAKER_01]: It's, there's a path.
• 38:07
[SPEAKER_01]: So becoming a doctor, my sisters are doctors, and they, it's not easy, but it's simple.
• 38:13
[SPEAKER_01]: Meaning they know what to do.
• 38:15
[SPEAKER_01]: You go to school, you take your MCAT, you get into a med school, you do your residency, you do a fellow, and then boom, you become a doctor.
• 38:23
[SPEAKER_01]: And as long as you go that path, that'll, that is what you'll become, A, B, C, D, E, F, G. But it's a pain every single one of those hundred percent.
• 38:30
  [SPEAKER_01]: Very good for us.
• 38:31
[SPEAKER_03]: I never got to tell us if I dropped the, passing the MCAT, never passed the MCAT.
• 38:34
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's difficult.
• 38:35
[SPEAKER_01]: Of course you have to work, but at least it's, it's drawn out for you.
• 38:39
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, as far as art, comedy, music, whatever, rap, whatever you put out there, entrepreneurship.
• 38:44
  [SPEAKER_01]: Entrepreneurship, exactly, it's A, C, B, L, Q.
• 38:50
[SPEAKER_01]: You don't know which way is going to happen.
• 38:52
[SPEAKER_01]: You don't know, and every failure is...
• 38:55
[SPEAKER_01]: the end of your life but could be the beginning of the next one.
• 38:58
[SPEAKER_01]: If I told someone hey, if you fail 20 more times on the 21st attempt, you will be a billionaire, how quickly would you rush to fail 20 times?
• 39:07
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, when you don't see that end in sight, it's not there.
• 39:10
[SPEAKER_01]: You can be digging and digging and digging and you don't know when you're about to hit that gold.
• 39:15
  [SPEAKER_01]: Strike that oil.
• 39:16
  [SPEAKER_01]: You don't know.
• 39:17
[SPEAKER_01]: You just have to keep going.
• 39:18
  [SPEAKER_01]: And that's the difference.
• 39:20
[SPEAKER_03]: Let's talk about failure, you know, being a comedian, you just fall a lot, you know, and the path to building wealth in comedy is really long.
• 39:31
  [SPEAKER_01]: It's almost impossible.
• 39:32
[SPEAKER_03]: Talk to me about some of your greatest shows.
• 39:34
[SPEAKER_03]: And then your success, I mean, you got an AP, you got a nice, a nice, a nice, necklaces.
• 39:39
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm half Persian, you know.
• 39:40
  [SPEAKER_01]: I like it.
• 39:41
  [SPEAKER_01]: Buddy, Buddy.
• 39:45
  [SPEAKER_01]: So as a comedian,
• 39:47
[SPEAKER_01]: The worst thing the biggest fear of people is public speaking.
• 39:50
[SPEAKER_01]: You would think it's sharks or or Guns or whatever it is, but it's actually just public speaking.
• 39:55
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah Speaking in public in the South.
• 39:58
[SPEAKER_01]: It's black people, but the truth is it's public speaking, you know You see this.
• 40:03
[SPEAKER_01]: You see people just talking about things.
• 40:05
  [SPEAKER_01]: They've never ever experienced.
• 40:06
[SPEAKER_01]: You see a whole group of America who's never actually met black people's like I'm afraid of them.
• 40:10
[SPEAKER_01]: Well meet you you'll trust me that when you overcome public speaking though
• 40:15
[SPEAKER_01]: is something that some people never overcome no matter what no matter how many times they try it or go up for it and it seems easy because it's like all you're doing is speaking but know it's in front of people it's all of your insecurities it's all of the uncomfortability is all at the same time.
• 40:30
  [SPEAKER_01]: right?
• 40:31
[SPEAKER_01]: So, getting on stage and then speaking, but not just speaking, but expecting a result.
• 40:36
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, I'm not just talking about things that I know, I'm creating art live in front of you.
• 40:41
[SPEAKER_01]: A musician goes on stage, plays an instrument, and the sound they make is music.
• 40:45
  [SPEAKER_01]: Comedian goes on stage.
• 40:47
[SPEAKER_01]: The instrument they play is the audience, and the music they make is laughter.
• 40:51
[SPEAKER_01]: That is where that is.
• 40:52
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a similar skill, except it's not as containerable.
• 40:57
[SPEAKER_01]: So when you go on stage and you bomb, it is the worst feeling.
• 41:01
[SPEAKER_01]: Like think about even on ESPN.
• 41:04
  [SPEAKER_01]: You watch the highlights.
• 41:06
[SPEAKER_01]: Sure, someone gets dunked this that getting dunked on is like they showed that guy's face like they love showing that defeat.
• 41:14
  [SPEAKER_01]: Getting rejected.
• 41:16
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's like, that'll be a top 10 play.
• 41:21
[SPEAKER_01]: and dunked on three, five, 10 times a week.
• 41:25
  [SPEAKER_01]: It's not easy.
• 41:27
[SPEAKER_01]: And you think that comedians, we go up everyone's bomb, Dave Chappelle, who's in my opinion the best comedian of all time, he has bombed.
• 41:35
[SPEAKER_01]: We've all gone through it.
• 41:37
[SPEAKER_01]: And I'll never forget the way you didn't forget that $7.
• 41:40
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll never forget the time I bombed the most.
• 41:42
[SPEAKER_01]: It was early in my career.
• 41:43
[SPEAKER_01]: It was basically the only time I ever bombed.
• 41:47
[SPEAKER_01]: And I went up this comedian before me goes up and just destroys.
• 41:52
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Christalia, he goes up and destroys and Dane Cook is next, but Dane Cook is running just a little late and so they throw me up there without me even being ready or prepared or anything.
• 42:03
[SPEAKER_01]: And I go up on stage and for five minutes, crickets.
• 42:07
  [SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't even booze.
• 42:08
[SPEAKER_01]: It was crickets, which is even worse and so bad that someone was like, good luck next time as I got offstage.
• 42:14
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's the worst.
• 42:14
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's like that.
• 42:15
[SPEAKER_01]: And that was the funniest joke that I told.
• 42:16
  [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
• 42:17
[SPEAKER_01]: Like you didn't have to do that.
• 42:19
[SPEAKER_01]: And so I don't know who at Casey Anthony killed the kid.
• 42:22
[SPEAKER_01]: Like why would you do that?
• 42:24
[SPEAKER_01]: So I get offstage and I go and
• 42:27
[SPEAKER_01]: At that time, Christina Shams was the manager of the LaFactory.
• 42:30
[SPEAKER_01]: She's now the managing partner in Matt Rife's career.
• 42:35
[SPEAKER_01]: And Matt Rife is huge right now, killing it.
• 42:38
[SPEAKER_01]: So a big child to Christina and that whole team, I love them.
• 42:41
[SPEAKER_01]: So Christina gave me this little pep talk was like,
• 42:45
  [SPEAKER_01]: I was so down.
• 42:46
[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, why am I here?
• 42:48
[SPEAKER_01]: Why do I move from DC to here?
• 42:50
[SPEAKER_01]: Why did I give up this possibly lucrative career in law to be here?
• 42:54
  [SPEAKER_01]: I at businesses.
• 42:55
  [SPEAKER_01]: I have things.
• 42:57
[SPEAKER_01]: And she was like, well, that's the thing about comedy.
• 42:59
  [SPEAKER_01]: There's always tomorrow.
• 43:00
[SPEAKER_01]: And I thought about that.
• 43:01
[SPEAKER_01]: I was like, wow, that's like a very deep thing that there's always tomorrow.
• 43:06
[SPEAKER_01]: And the thing about tomorrow is if tomorrow wasn't just something that happened, most people wouldn't even make it to tomorrow.
• 43:13
[SPEAKER_01]: Like most people wouldn't have the grit and wit to get to tomorrow.
• 43:18
[SPEAKER_01]: If tomorrow wasn't something that just you wake up and the sun's there,
• 43:21
[SPEAKER_01]: If we had to work for it, who would get there?
• 43:23
[SPEAKER_01]: And I then realized I need to work for tomorrow.
• 43:27
[SPEAKER_01]: I will always be prepared.
• 43:28
[SPEAKER_01]: So the next time situation like that happened, Tony Rock is a phenomenal comedian Chris Rock's little brother.
• 43:34
[SPEAKER_01]: He is another brother, Jordan, who also does comedy a lot of people don't know.
• 43:37
  [SPEAKER_01]: Tony Rock is amazing.
• 43:39
  [SPEAKER_01]: He went up, destroyed.
• 43:40
[SPEAKER_01]: I went up right after him and I was prepared.
• 43:43
[SPEAKER_01]: This time I was prepared.
• 43:45
[SPEAKER_01]: I learned the tricks of the trade and practice because nothing does better, practice makes perfect.
• 43:50
[SPEAKER_01]: and I crushed and that gave me the confidence to know that I'm in the right place, I'm in the right field, and I'm doing the right thing, and I kept going.
• 44:00
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, I got two questions.
• 44:01
[SPEAKER_03]: One, who's funny at Tony Rock or Chris Rock?
• 44:02
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so that's a very good question.
• 44:04
[SPEAKER_01]: The truth is, Tony Rock is funnier than Chris Rock.
• 44:07
[SPEAKER_01]: Wow, and I'm gonna be very honest.
• 44:08
[SPEAKER_01]: Tony Rock is funnier than Chris Rock.
• 44:11
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna get in trouble for saying this.
• 44:13
[SPEAKER_01]: Tony Rock is funnier, but Chris Rock says bigger jokes.
• 44:17
[SPEAKER_01]: So, Tony Rock, overall, if you're just Tony Rock, you are laughing the whole time, but Chris Rock says jokes that are, remember when I said laughter versus thinking,
• 44:27
[SPEAKER_01]: The funniest thing that can happen to you in comedy is when someone goes, that's so true.
• 44:32
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's who Chris Rock is.
• 44:33
  [SPEAKER_01]: He's the that's so true comedian.
• 44:35
[SPEAKER_01]: You sit there and you listen to him, whether it's a joke about, uh, every bullet should cost $5,000.
• 44:40
[SPEAKER_01]: That is a 20-year-old joke that stands out in my mind.
• 44:44
  [SPEAKER_01]: It's just brilliant.
• 44:45
[SPEAKER_01]: It's a brilliant persuasive idea that he made funny.
• 44:49
[SPEAKER_01]: Because that's the best comedy that it's a spoonful of sugar that helps the medicine
• 44:57
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, my second question is, you know, you came in here.
• 45:00
[SPEAKER_03]: You're or us just so bright, right?
• 45:02
[SPEAKER_03]: You got you're just funny.
• 45:03
  [SPEAKER_01]: The risk game.
• 45:05
[SPEAKER_01]: You got that all this is the risk.
• 45:07
  [SPEAKER_02]: I'm a green green much a green tea much a guy.
• 45:10
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, that's why, you know, if I was like English and be like English breakfast, that's not good.
• 45:15
[SPEAKER_03]: But when did you get that risk game like was it comedy that drove that was it law school that drove that was it being a middle Eastern Black through the drove that You know, like where and then you didn't have that risk game when you failed on stage did you?
• 45:27
[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't have that risk game that it's high.
• 45:29
  [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so it's a new thing.
• 45:30
[SPEAKER_01]: It's see I would love to say it's new but the the thing about it is I am just exponentially me so
• 45:38
  [SPEAKER_01]: to be okay.
• 45:39
[SPEAKER_01]: On stage, you are vulnerable.
• 45:42
  [SPEAKER_01]: That is the best.
• 45:43
  [SPEAKER_01]: Authenticity is everything.
• 45:44
[SPEAKER_01]: You feel the same in music.
• 45:46
[SPEAKER_01]: And I sometimes equate comedy to rap because it's very similar.
• 45:50
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just you with music when it comes to Beyonce.
• 45:54
[SPEAKER_01]: She has a whole orchestra back coming up.
• 45:56
[SPEAKER_01]: With rap, it's really just the person rapping, the words they're saying, and if we believe them,
• 46:07
[SPEAKER_01]: with comedy it's the same as authenticity.
• 46:10
[SPEAKER_01]: I would love to be like this is something I've grown into this and that but it really came down to a specific thing that happened to me when I was four years old.
• 46:18
[SPEAKER_01]: When I was four years old usually my mother, my black mom would come pick me up from school one time, my Iranian father came to pick me up and being mixed even though we're so
• 46:29
[SPEAKER_01]: normalized by now at that time was not much like having a white Egyptian if you know the Middle East region you'll know there are a lot of people who have fair skin like you but most people don't know these things even in the own communities that you're from like in Iran they don't know their black Iranians and the South and entire group of Afro Iranians or Asian looking Iranians to the to the east all these things.
• 46:52
  [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm at school I'm in
• 46:54
[SPEAKER_01]: pre-school kindergarten, and my Iranian father comes to pick me up.
• 46:58
[SPEAKER_01]: My teachers have no idea who he is, and he is there.
• 47:02
[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, that's my son, basically just pointing out me.
• 47:05
  [SPEAKER_01]: He has an accent.
• 47:05
[SPEAKER_01]: He has the mustache, the thick mustache.
• 47:08
[SPEAKER_01]: He's got the hair, you know, it's just like the chest hair in the air, and they're just like this black kid can't be here.
• 47:14
[SPEAKER_01]: Unlike your kidnapping, this kid.
• 47:16
[SPEAKER_01]: And I remember in that moment feeling something for the first time.
• 47:20
[SPEAKER_01]: I felt shame and I didn't even know what it was.
• 47:22
[SPEAKER_01]: I just felt ashamed like what is going on.
• 47:24
[SPEAKER_01]: But then my father did something the most middle eastern of all things.
• 47:27
[SPEAKER_01]: With that, like not with the best articulation, nothing just kind of pushes everyone inside is like this is my son and picks me up and holds me.
• 47:35
[SPEAKER_01]: And when he did that, I felt such a surge of love in that moment that I realized it didn't matter who I was or any of the other things.
• 47:44
[SPEAKER_01]: It only mattered that he loved me and then I was loved.
• 47:47
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's when I started realizing to love myself, right?
• 47:51
[SPEAKER_01]: So that love myself has grown into that riz today, which is just narcissism.
• 47:57
  [SPEAKER_01]: I'm a narcissist.
• 47:58
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, this isn't my coincidence.
• 48:01
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I don't even remember your name if it wasn't on the wall.
• 48:03
  [SPEAKER_01]: It's just terrible.
• 48:05
  [SPEAKER_01]: Ter, okay.
• 48:06
  [SPEAKER_01]: But it self-love, it's really just knowing yourself and self-love is a different self-worth and self-value.
• 48:14
  [SPEAKER_01]: People don't know.
• 48:15
[SPEAKER_01]: They might have self-confidence, but they don't have self-worth.
• 48:18
  [SPEAKER_01]: You need both.
• 48:19
[SPEAKER_01]: You need to know your own value.
• 48:21
[SPEAKER_01]: It's quality over quantity every time, whether it's in your personal life, your relationships, your friendships, whatever it is.
• 48:28
[SPEAKER_01]: And so these are things that carried with me throughout.
• 48:31
[SPEAKER_01]: And then you stagger that with the things that my mother used to tell me, you know?
• 48:35
[SPEAKER_01]: Made me believe I was the best of myself and and the rest is all just history and I'm growing obviously I'm not where I need to be but I am thankfully one of the top five percent and comedy I make a living Making people laugh.
• 48:50
[SPEAKER_01]: There is no better feeling than that
• 48:52
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I'm sure like you must feel good when you make a living, giving people homes.
• 48:57
[SPEAKER_01]: Like you're literally housing, but like people get their dream homes and they come to you.
• 49:02
[SPEAKER_01]: Sure, you're also a shark and I'm sure there's these corporate takeovers that you help too.
• 49:06
[SPEAKER_01]: But then when you see that one family, that immigrant family that didn't think they could get a home and you get them into a home, you're like, wow, that feeling is something that you can't
• 49:18
[SPEAKER_01]: You can't ever rest away, right there.
• 49:20
[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly, and it becomes a dicting.
• 49:23
[SPEAKER_01]: So me making the audience laugh and making them think and making them enjoy themselves and having a good time because people might not remember what you say, but they'll always remember how you made them feel.
• 49:34
[SPEAKER_01]: That to me is, is what I do.
• 49:37
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's my drug.
• 49:38
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't smoke, I don't drink, I don't even drink coffee, I had tea, I've never done those things, I've never had hookah, but that's my drug.
• 49:47
[SPEAKER_00]: Jen, can I get your chance of be filming anything?
• 49:49
[SPEAKER_01]: You know what, that and beautiful women.
• 49:51
  [SPEAKER_01]: How crazy is that?
• 49:52
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's my drug too.
• 49:53
  [SPEAKER_02]: I know.
• 49:54
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's amazing.
• 49:55
  [SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
• 49:55
  [SPEAKER_00]: When I'm here, I got you.
• 49:57
  [SPEAKER_01]: I'm using smart women.
• 49:58
  [SPEAKER_01]: I'm addicted.
• 49:59
[SPEAKER_01]: If you're smart and good looking, you're a winner.
• 50:02
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's right, you know.
• 50:11
[SPEAKER_03]: So, any pressure from your parents to get married yet?
• 50:15
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so my parents would love for me to get married.
• 50:19
  [SPEAKER_01]: They would love it.
• 50:20
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you know this.
• 50:21
[SPEAKER_03]: You know what I mean, I mean, I was forced to get married next immigrant.
• 50:24
  [SPEAKER_01]: I get it.
• 50:25
[SPEAKER_01]: A range marriages, these Egyptian.
• 50:26
[SPEAKER_01]: No, I was like, listen, it was like, I'm sure your wife is listening to them.
• 50:32
[SPEAKER_02]: No, actually, you want to
• 50:35
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, no, when it comes to marriage my parents have understood that you just want to be a playboy forever to the game.
• 50:42
[SPEAKER_01]: No, I'm married to my career I don't think that
• 50:48
[SPEAKER_01]: you should be married until you are on the at least see the finish line because that becomes a huge problem.
• 50:57
[SPEAKER_01]: But there is no finish sign in entrepreneurship, baby.
• 50:59
  [SPEAKER_01]: There is none.
• 51:00
[SPEAKER_01]: But there is there is a part of a path where you're like, oh, I'm running good here.
• 51:05
  [SPEAKER_01]: I'm running.
• 51:05
  [SPEAKER_01]: But you're running great.
• 51:07
[SPEAKER_03]: You got a brand, you got you, you got the, you know, Netflix is a joke.
• 51:12
  [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, series going on.
• 51:13
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, you're starting to hit big numbers on your showings.
• 51:17
[SPEAKER_03]: You got big, great ratings.
• 51:18
  [SPEAKER_01]: My audiences are packed.
• 51:20
[SPEAKER_01]: My, I would love to meet a person.
• 51:23
[SPEAKER_01]: So in Farsi, when we're talking about our significant other, we use the term YAR.
• 51:29
[SPEAKER_01]: And a lot of people think YAR means lover or wife husband,
• 51:34
[SPEAKER_01]: because Farsi's gender neutral, and it doesn't.
• 51:36
[SPEAKER_01]: It actually just means teammate.
• 51:38
[SPEAKER_01]: So if I was playing soccer and all the stands were cheering, that person I passed the ball to, the Ronaldo would still be my y'all.
• 51:47
[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm looking for like a teammate, and it's not easy talking with you.
• 51:51
[SPEAKER_03]: We're looking for Ronaldo, but we're not gonna get that Ronaldo team.
• 51:54
  [SPEAKER_01]: Why not?
• 51:55
  [SPEAKER_01]: The, what's Ronaldo's girlfriend's name?
• 51:57
[SPEAKER_01]: We got the Ronaldo, Georgina got a Ronaldo, and she was just working at a store.
• 52:02
[SPEAKER_01]: She was working at Gucci.
• 52:03
[SPEAKER_01]: It was just like a store and then we're not allowed to walk in.
• 52:06
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like you, it is you and then they were like, ah, basil, basil and then next thing you know, she's got an allowance.
• 52:13
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, a million dollar month allowance.
• 52:16
  [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much.
• 52:17
  [SPEAKER_02]: More than probably that.
• 52:18
  [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
• 52:19
[SPEAKER_01]: So it's like one of those things where it's like my thing is I'm looking for my yard, but it's not necessarily financial.
• 52:24
  [SPEAKER_01]: It's someone who can
• 52:26
[SPEAKER_01]: Handle me being with a comedian the hours we work it's not easy our sense of humor is not easy like I get it your dad died But ha ha like you know Knock knock who's there grim Reaper like it's just like you know it takes a special type of person to deal with an artist You know even Kim couldn't put up with Kanye and I don't know who could but it's that it's like who do you deal with?
• 52:49
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, it's like that with even like extreme entrepreneurs like me like women can't deal with like I'm like an artist entrepreneur like crazy entrepreneur So it's it's a different mindset.
• 53:00
[SPEAKER_03]: So we're talking about entrepreneurship.
• 53:02
  [SPEAKER_03]: You're an entrepreneur effectively.
• 53:03
  [SPEAKER_03]: Of course.
• 53:03
  [SPEAKER_03]: I'm a business.
• 53:04
  [SPEAKER_03]: I'm a small business.
• 53:04
  [SPEAKER_03]: You're a small business.
• 53:05
  [SPEAKER_03]: What's it like?
• 53:06
[SPEAKER_03]: Business running your small business.
• 53:08
[SPEAKER_03]: Obviously you're building your brand.
• 53:10
[SPEAKER_03]: What kind of glass ceiling is there a glass ceiling for you?
• 53:13
[SPEAKER_01]: So there's standard set and we have two amazing comedians that set these standards.
• 53:17
[SPEAKER_01]: Dave's your pal and Kevin Hart And they are so different and they're both still grinding and they're still grinding hard workers Dave is a legend and a genius Kevin Hart is the hardest working most EQ high EQ high IQ person and comedy
• 53:35
[SPEAKER_01]: And if you know their stories, you'll realize how hard they work to get what they are.
• 53:39
[SPEAKER_01]: Kevin Hart did comedy for 20 years before anyone even knew who he was.
• 53:43
[SPEAKER_01]: 2009 was his breakout year, but he had many little bumps and ups along the way.
• 53:48
[SPEAKER_01]: Dave Chappelle clearly had a very famous downfall that everyone watched a spiral happen on just in the public eye and then watched him bounce back.
• 53:59
[SPEAKER_01]: So when you say is there a class ceiling?
• 54:02
[SPEAKER_01]: when it comes to small business and when it comes to having a partner, whether it's a woman or a man, anyone who has a business like for yourself, the hours that you put in, the dedication the time, whenever you're in a relationship and that person wants to be the priority, love wants to naturally be the priority.
• 54:18
[SPEAKER_01]: It becomes very difficult when your business is the priority.
• 54:21
  [SPEAKER_01]: It is A, B, C, and D. It is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 on your top five lists.
• 54:26
[SPEAKER_01]: And it almost goes before family.
• 54:30
[SPEAKER_01]: It goes sometimes you think of things and go, wow, my sister's wedding is inconvenient because I have a meeting that day.
• 54:37
[SPEAKER_01]: So as a small business, what I would love to achieve is I would just like to find my foothold and I've been finding that more and more where I fit into the comedy lane, the comedy experience, I'd love those opportunities to have my own podcasts, radio show, these kind of things, some of things that I can go out and hustle and just get on my own.
• 54:57
[SPEAKER_01]: But some of the things are opportunities that need to present themselves and for me to get quote unquote lucky or be an overnight celebrity and overnight success, I need to be prepared with my 10,000 hours, my 20 years, my 10 years of working hard at something.
• 55:13
  [SPEAKER_01]: So,
• 55:14
[SPEAKER_01]: As far as a business, I've been working on my brand, a lot of people obviously know it, it does help that I'm the name of a capital city in Iran.
• 55:22
[SPEAKER_01]: It gives that recognition, but then it's time to deliver.
• 55:25
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not just to be known, you have to be grown, you have to be ready for what it is when the audience comes in and
• 55:35
  [SPEAKER_01]: They consume your product.
• 55:37
[SPEAKER_01]: My product is my comedy, my jokes that I tell on stage, my presence, the awareness, my terror on Thursday show at the laugh factory, every Thursday, 9.45, shameless plug, all those things that happen are part of who I am.
• 55:51
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm growing my business just like you.
• 55:53
[SPEAKER_01]: I own a McDonald's, except I'm the cashier, the manager, the janitor, the drive-through person, the person who fixes the side, all the things by myself.
• 56:03
[SPEAKER_03]: And the bigger I get, you're running operations.
• 56:04
  [SPEAKER_03]: A hundred percent.
• 56:06
  [SPEAKER_03]: A hundred percent.
• 56:06
[SPEAKER_03]: And you've got to, like, how do you even, like, you know, assign anyone those tasks?
• 56:11
  [SPEAKER_02]: You can't.
• 56:12
[SPEAKER_02]: You're the one doing it.
• 56:13
  [SPEAKER_02]: Because it's up.
• 56:14
[SPEAKER_02]: It's a brand built on your personal perspective.
• 56:19
  [SPEAKER_01]: I can't.
• 56:20
  [SPEAKER_01]: I can't.
• 56:22
[SPEAKER_01]: basically form out my, I can't farm out my opinions to someone else for them to go and say them live on my Instagram or on a show or on stage.
• 56:31
  [SPEAKER_01]: I can't do that.
• 56:31
  [SPEAKER_03]: You can't delegate anywhere.
• 56:33
  [SPEAKER_03]: Exactly.
• 56:34
  [SPEAKER_02]: Like your calendar.
• 56:35
  [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
• 56:35
  [SPEAKER_01]: It's just me.
• 56:36
[SPEAKER_01]: And you have to be everywhere all at once.
• 56:38
[SPEAKER_01]: Even something in that situation, I would have had to go up to the audience and grab the traction move back.
• 56:43
[SPEAKER_01]: So it's one of those things where it's it's very difficult with your business.
• 56:51
[SPEAKER_03]: We have nine hundred and fifty loan officers we have about maybe a couple thousand other people like operations involved in there and that's a lot and still you have to be on top of everything
• 57:03
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, so it's funny that you say, I'm just a CEO.
• 57:06
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just a CEO, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah
• 57:30
[SPEAKER_01]: being putting in that legwork to get to where it is because that happens in comedy too.
• 57:35
[SPEAKER_01]: I will be approached by people to do private events and they will offer me x amount of money and I'll say why and they'll think why is too much and they'll even ask why why why and I say
• 57:48
[SPEAKER_01]: You're not paying for the 45 minutes or an hour on stage.
• 57:51
[SPEAKER_01]: You're paying for my 15 years of building the fact that you want me on stage for you.
• 57:58
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's what you're paying for.
• 57:59
[SPEAKER_01]: And if you think about that, you're getting a very good deal.
• 58:02
  [SPEAKER_03]: It's gonna put it.
• 58:03
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but they don't know your history.
• 58:05
[SPEAKER_01]: They know that's why they're coming for me.
• 58:07
[SPEAKER_01]: That's why they're coming at me to go, hey, I need you on this.
• 58:12
[SPEAKER_01]: So when that happens, that's when you need self-confidence, meeting self-worth, where you value the thing you do.
• 58:19
[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of people, including myself, suffer from unpause for syndrome.
• 58:23
[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes we don't think that we deserve the things we get, society kind of enforces that on us too.
• 58:29
[SPEAKER_01]: humility this that oh no I'm sorry you're right all these things are great and then you realize close mouths don't get fed if you don't speak up you know it a lot of part of success in Hollywood is staying there just being around long enough that it's your turn and they go hey you what's your name again your turn and you get up there and when you work for it and you deserve it you've earned it you stay there and
• 58:52
[SPEAKER_01]: that's why Kevin Hart has been on top for so long because he worked for it so hard that he knows not to ever let it go.
• 58:57
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the thing about it.
• 58:59
[SPEAKER_01]: It's that perspective where you deserve these things.
• 59:03
  [SPEAKER_01]: You deserve better.
• 59:04
[SPEAKER_01]: And we can all do that.
• 59:06
[SPEAKER_01]: We can all look within ourselves and say, hey, I want more.
• 59:11
  [SPEAKER_01]: And that's okay.
• 59:12
[SPEAKER_01]: As long as it's not at the expense of other people, I don't want more and other people have less.
• 59:18
  [SPEAKER_01]: I want more.
• 59:19
[SPEAKER_01]: That's when we're walking at night and you look at the night sky, there's a sky full of stars.
• 59:25
[SPEAKER_01]: We look up and we're like, wow.
• 59:28
  [SPEAKER_01]: This is beautiful.
• 59:28
[SPEAKER_01]: If it's only one or two stars, you look down and keep going about your day.
• 59:32
[SPEAKER_01]: I want there to be other stars.
• 59:33
[SPEAKER_01]: I just want to be one of those stars too.
• 59:35
  [SPEAKER_01]: Your turn's coming.
• 59:36
  [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I feel it.
• 59:37
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I feel it from your mouth to god's ears, you know, it's just one of those things.
• 59:41
[SPEAKER_03]: You're one of the most talented people, you know, that I've ever even spoken to on the show, especially when it comes to your risk.
• 59:47
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the risk game, the risk game, okay?
• 59:50
  [SPEAKER_01]: Let's get that.
• 59:51
[SPEAKER_01]: That's charisma for those at home.
• 59:53
[SPEAKER_01]: For all of you, of millennials and up, that's risk game, okay?
• 1:00:09
[SPEAKER_03]: We got this new segment that I'd like to do.
• 1:00:11
  [SPEAKER_03]: It's called viral moments.
• 1:00:12
[SPEAKER_03]: And you're just going to respond with what you feel immediately, okay?
• 1:00:16
[SPEAKER_03]: Black mom or Persian mom, who's guilt-trip hits harder.
• 1:00:20
  [SPEAKER_01]: Black mom.
• 1:00:22
[SPEAKER_01]: black mom black mom black mom says things that are just black moms like I carried you in my stomach for 18 months That's not even how pregnancy works.
• 1:00:30
[SPEAKER_01]: That's not even how pregnancy works.
• 1:00:32
[SPEAKER_01]: What do you mean like black moms like I went through slavery Know you didn't know you didn't go through slavery like well someone did and now you're my like black mom black mom For you I used to get hit for stuff other kids did I could be in the grocery store and there's like another kid is like shut up Mom and my mom would just fit me in them like don't even think about it
• 1:00:52
[SPEAKER_02]: Next thing, law school or stand-up.
• 1:00:55
[SPEAKER_02]: Which one has more lying?
• 1:00:58
  [SPEAKER_02]: Law school.
• 1:00:58
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah, you just listen.
• 1:01:00
[SPEAKER_01]: Then stand up, actually, we use lies to tell the truth.
• 1:01:04
[SPEAKER_01]: And law school, you use truths to tell the lie.
• 1:01:07
[SPEAKER_01]: you're using your manipulating the truth to tell that lie.
• 1:01:11
[SPEAKER_01]: And so law school, you're lying for sure, you're lying, you're lying with the kids, you know, the number one lies, hey, oh my God, how are you?
• 1:01:18
[SPEAKER_01]: I like you so much.
• 1:01:19
[SPEAKER_01]: No, you hate everyone in that class.
• 1:01:21
[SPEAKER_01]: You hate everyone in your school.
• 1:01:23
  [SPEAKER_01]: So it's just, it's lying, okay.
• 1:01:25
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, what's the worst bomb of your career and what did it teach you?
• 1:01:30
[SPEAKER_01]: Worst bomb of my career was not time at the lab factory right before Dan Cook.
• 1:01:34
[SPEAKER_01]: What it taught me was that a middle Eastern black person named Tehran should never bomb.
• 1:01:38
[SPEAKER_02]: Like you should not probably not the way that should go.
• 1:01:42
[SPEAKER_02]: So I'll never do that again.
• 1:01:43
[SPEAKER_02]: Is cancel culture killing comedy or making it better?
• 1:01:47
[SPEAKER_01]: Council culture is killing some comedy, but in other ways it is making it better.
• 1:01:51
[SPEAKER_01]: Stop going for the low hanging fruit.
• 1:01:54
[SPEAKER_01]: pick higher, do better, just because you're a fensive doesn't mean you're funny, but just because you're offended doesn't mean you're right, there's a fine line in between and that's comedy.
• 1:02:03
[SPEAKER_03]: You're gonna like this one.
• 1:02:04
[SPEAKER_03]: What's the craziest thing you've ever seen in Lafactory?
• 1:02:07
[SPEAKER_01]: Craziest thing I've ever seen.
• 1:02:08
  [SPEAKER_01]: I can't even talk about that.
• 1:02:09
  [SPEAKER_02]: I can't even talk about that.
• 1:02:10
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm around comedians all the time.
• 1:02:12
[SPEAKER_01]: The craziest thing I've ever seen in the Laf?
• 1:02:13
[SPEAKER_01]: I can make it like so.
• 1:02:14
  [SPEAKER_01]: No, I can't talk about it.
• 1:02:16
[SPEAKER_01]: I saw big time comedian.
• 1:02:18
  [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, big time comedian.
• 1:02:20
[SPEAKER_01]: Hooking up with Hannah Montana at the Lafactory.
• 1:02:23
[SPEAKER_01]: That's one of the craziest things I've ever seen.
• 1:02:25
[SPEAKER_01]: And no, we're only looking at fully hooking up.
• 1:02:27
  [SPEAKER_01]: And I've seen pop star X.
• 1:02:31
[SPEAKER_01]: who was dating Popstar Y at the lab factory and smacked Popstar Z in the face.
• 1:02:38
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I can't even tell you these names.
• 1:02:40
  [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I can't, I can't.
• 1:02:42
  [SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
• 1:02:43
[SPEAKER_01]: I've seen a lot when you're around the world in these things.
• 1:02:47
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not, it's not, you've never seen like, it's not the puff party things, puff daddy parties and everyone thinks, it's not that stuff, cause obviously puff daddy didn't think I would make it, cause he never invited me to the after party.
• 1:02:58
[SPEAKER_01]: Like I never invited to the extra after party.
• 1:03:01
[SPEAKER_01]: That's never, you took that one after party and then there's the extra after party.
• 1:03:05
[SPEAKER_01]: There was a puff daddy party and then there was the after party.
• 1:03:07
[SPEAKER_01]: Then there was the after party.
• 1:03:08
[SPEAKER_01]: That's when all the things went down.
• 1:03:10
[SPEAKER_01]: That's where all that stuff went down.
• 1:03:12
[SPEAKER_01]: I was barely invited to the first party, let alone the second.
• 1:03:15
  [SPEAKER_03]: the first.
• 1:03:16
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, oh yeah, pop party.
• 1:03:17
[SPEAKER_01]: I've been to a puff party in my life.
• 1:03:19
  [SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely fantastic.
• 1:03:21
  [SPEAKER_01]: The after party.
• 1:03:23
  [SPEAKER_01]: That got him arrested.
• 1:03:23
[SPEAKER_01]: That part got him arrested, you know.
• 1:03:26
[SPEAKER_01]: After the party is the after party.
• 1:03:28
  [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that got him.
• 1:03:29
[SPEAKER_01]: Or go down the list of the after partyers.
• 1:03:33
  [SPEAKER_01]: My advice stay home.
• 1:03:36
[SPEAKER_01]: Don't go to that there's nothing good ever goes on at the after bar.
• 1:03:39
[SPEAKER_03]: No, nothing good ever goes on after after party if a single joke could change the country's politics What would it be single joke that could change the anyone's joke anyone's joke?
• 1:03:52
[SPEAKER_01]: If anyone's joke, I would have to say it's probably a Dave Shepel joke.
• 1:03:57
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure it's one of his jokes.
• 1:03:59
[SPEAKER_01]: His jokes can change the country's mind.
• 1:04:01
[SPEAKER_01]: It changes people's minds all the time.
• 1:04:03
[SPEAKER_01]: So his jokes are just phenomenal.
• 1:04:07
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe his Jim Carrey joke is Jim Carrey joke.
• 1:04:10
[SPEAKER_01]: This is the one where he basically meets Jim Carrey who is playing the role of Andy Kaufman.
• 1:04:15
[SPEAKER_01]: And because he's so method, he stays Andy Kaufman.
• 1:04:19
  [SPEAKER_01]: And
• 1:04:20
[SPEAKER_01]: Dave is like, I want to call him Jimmy, but he's like, no, you have to call me Andy, but he looks like Jim and I don't know what to say.
• 1:04:26
[SPEAKER_01]: He looks like Jim carry.
• 1:04:27
  [SPEAKER_01]: I can't call him Andy.
• 1:04:28
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like you have to call me Andy and he's trying, but he messes up a couple times and he's like, that's what it's like to be around transgender people.
• 1:04:39
[SPEAKER_01]: and you'd have to understand comedy to see that he's not coming from a hateful place.
• 1:04:43
[SPEAKER_01]: He's actually coming from a place of grace where he's saying some things are difficult for us, but he's saying it in a funny way.
• 1:04:50
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not that we're not willing to learn, is that sometimes it just takes time.
• 1:04:53
[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's the overall thing with any type of politics.
• 1:04:57
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's just take our time.
• 1:04:58
[SPEAKER_03]: Now, what's one thing every comedian learns that everyone should learn?
• 1:05:04
  [SPEAKER_01]: Practice makes perfect.
• 1:05:07
[SPEAKER_01]: and being yourself is the hardest thing to do.
• 1:05:09
[SPEAKER_01]: Those two things are the most difficult things that a comedian knows, learns, and I wish everyone could learn.
• 1:05:19
[SPEAKER_01]: No cheat sheets, there's no tricks, there's no anyone, even if a joke goes viral, and now you're all a son famous, when you go on stage and now you tell that 30 second joke and now you have to do the rest of your hour and no one's there laughing, that's when you learn that.
• 1:05:33
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the same thing, I'm sure it's the same thing
• 1:05:37
  [SPEAKER_01]: you do one mortgage.
• 1:05:38
  [SPEAKER_01]: They're not the same.
• 1:05:39
[SPEAKER_01]: You have to learn the idea, the algorithm.
• 1:05:43
[SPEAKER_01]: Some people just learn one piece of paper.
• 1:05:45
  [SPEAKER_01]: No, I don't do paperwork.
• 1:05:46
  [SPEAKER_01]: No.
• 1:05:47
[SPEAKER_01]: You have to learn the concepts.
• 1:05:48
  [SPEAKER_01]: It's reading and comprehension.
• 1:05:50
  [SPEAKER_01]: So it's comprehending comedy.
• 1:05:52
  [SPEAKER_01]: And then being yourself.
• 1:05:54
  [SPEAKER_03]: That's right.
• 1:05:55
  [SPEAKER_03]: Always seeing authentic.
• 1:05:56
[SPEAKER_03]: What's one thing you would tell your point to your old self before you walked away from law school?
• 1:06:00
  [SPEAKER_01]: Wow, Bob Bitcoin.
• 1:06:01
[SPEAKER_01]: If I could listen, I would have bought Bitcoin was what, like, what, like, 0.001 sent or something back then?
• 1:06:09
[SPEAKER_01]: I would have really bought Bitcoin.
• 1:06:11
[SPEAKER_01]: I have bought some, like, I would buy so many things that are just like, why do I even have these shoes?
• 1:06:17
[SPEAKER_01]: I would have just bought Bitcoin, only Bitcoin.
• 1:06:20
[SPEAKER_01]: buy bitcoin and you can still that that's that theory still applies it's still cool but but it's a great it's exactly it's an eighty right now even gold's at forty seven you need it like i would have been bought bitcoin you know i talk about this with monster brani one of my mentors and favorite comedians uh him and maximini are these two iranian comedians who open the door for other iranian comedians and maximini is killing it right now
• 1:06:47
[SPEAKER_01]: critically acclaimed career just all over.
• 1:06:50
  [SPEAKER_01]: Maz bought a house in 2004.
• 1:06:52
[SPEAKER_01]: If you had bought Apple stock, it would be worth like $50 million today.
• 1:06:56
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, and it's just like, that's the thing we would go back and tell ourselves.
• 1:07:01
[SPEAKER_03]: If comedy was a mortgage loan, what's the biggest down payment that people need to succeed?
• 1:07:08
  [SPEAKER_01]: Your lives.
• 1:07:09
[SPEAKER_01]: You have to, it's not, it's not a hobby.
• 1:07:11
[SPEAKER_01]: You see a lot of people go into comedy.
• 1:07:13
[SPEAKER_01]: They made two of their co-workers laugh and they did an open mic and now they call themselves a comedian.
• 1:07:18
[SPEAKER_01]: That is not it, it is a lifestyle.
• 1:07:20
[SPEAKER_01]: It is a 24-7 grind as you stated earlier, Kevin Hart's grinding and that's Kevin Hart.
• 1:07:27
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, there's this amazing story that I'll never forget of really good front of mind.
• 1:07:32
[SPEAKER_01]: Went to Play to NLA, played basketball in LA, I played basketball.
• 1:07:36
[SPEAKER_01]: And it played basketball in LA at high school, went to UCLA, then got drafted by the Lakers.
• 1:07:43
  [SPEAKER_01]: And that's like a dream.
• 1:07:44
[SPEAKER_01]: Had Kobe's pictures on his wall, everything loved that he got to play with Kobe.
• 1:07:48
[SPEAKER_01]: For some reason, Kobe just hated this kid.
• 1:07:51
  [SPEAKER_01]: won't say his name.
• 1:07:52
  [SPEAKER_01]: So he was upset.
• 1:07:54
[SPEAKER_01]: Then they asked Colby in an interview.
• 1:07:56
[SPEAKER_01]: Why do you, Colby, why do you hate this kid?
• 1:07:58
[SPEAKER_01]: Why do you hate him?
• 1:07:59
[SPEAKER_01]: He seems to be a nice person.
• 1:08:00
[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, yeah, he is, but he's always late to practice.
• 1:08:02
[SPEAKER_01]: Now, if you know this person, he's never late.
• 1:08:04
[SPEAKER_01]: This is the guy that shows up at 10 p.m. for a nightclub, because we said we'll go out.
• 1:08:08
  [SPEAKER_01]: Like, he's an on-time person.
• 1:08:10
[SPEAKER_01]: And practice is from 10 to 4.
• 1:08:12
  [SPEAKER_01]: He's always there 10 to 4.
• 1:08:14
  [SPEAKER_01]: They ask him.
• 1:08:14
  [SPEAKER_01]: He's there 10 to 4.
• 1:08:15
  [SPEAKER_01]: They ask the coach.
• 1:08:16
  [SPEAKER_01]: He says he's 10 to 4.
• 1:08:17
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know why Kobe would say that.
• 1:08:18
  [SPEAKER_01]: Then they ask Kobe.
• 1:08:19
[SPEAKER_01]: Coach said he's never late.
• 1:08:20
[SPEAKER_01]: Players says he's never late.
• 1:08:21
[SPEAKER_01]: Other players says he's never late.
• 1:08:23
  [SPEAKER_01]: Kobe.
• 1:08:23
[SPEAKER_01]: Why did you say player is always late?
• 1:08:25
[SPEAKER_01]: And Kobe said, I get to practice at 8 and I leave at 6.
• 1:08:30
[SPEAKER_01]: What time should player X get to practice?
• 1:08:33
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's the realist thing.
• 1:08:35
[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't matter if practice is 10 to 4, put in the extra effort.
• 1:08:39
[SPEAKER_01]: Put in the extra effort, everything deserves extra credit.
• 1:08:41
[SPEAKER_01]: And when it comes to comedy, it's all the extra effort.
• 1:08:44
[SPEAKER_01]: You get what you put in, so it's your life.
• 1:08:47
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's the down payment.
• 1:08:48
[SPEAKER_03]: Well, that's the coolest Kobe story and we know Kobe to to be the hardest working guy in the game and uh, yeah, and uh, but his work ethic was like surreal like sure, but we can all replicate that I can't nobody worked that like Kobe nobody but but we could that's the thing about it.
• 1:09:07
[SPEAKER_01]: We could you know, no offense to your empire.
• 1:09:10
[SPEAKER_01]: We could have done what you did.
• 1:09:13
  [SPEAKER_01]: We could.
• 1:09:13
[SPEAKER_01]: I can't be LeBron James physically stature, right?
• 1:09:16
[SPEAKER_01]: But we could have done what you did.
• 1:09:19
[SPEAKER_01]: We can replicate the things that people do.
• 1:09:21
  [SPEAKER_01]: We choose not to.
• 1:09:23
[SPEAKER_01]: How many days did you sacrifice fun for work?
• 1:09:26
[SPEAKER_01]: How many times did you sacrifice sleep for six AM meetings?
• 1:09:30
[SPEAKER_01]: how many times did that happen all the time?
• 1:09:32
  [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
• 1:09:33
[SPEAKER_01]: So now you get to be unfair.
• 1:09:34
  [SPEAKER_01]: Now you get that.
• 1:09:36
[SPEAKER_01]: We can do that too.
• 1:09:37
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what happens with people.
• 1:09:39
[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of times we look and we think, oh, I want that thing over there.
• 1:09:43
[SPEAKER_01]: So the door is right there.
• 1:09:44
[SPEAKER_01]: If I got up and rammed to that door, it would take me three seconds to get there.
• 1:09:48
[SPEAKER_01]: And that door right there, if I walked, it might take me five seconds.
• 1:09:50
[SPEAKER_01]: If I crawl to my hands and knees, it might take me one minute.
• 1:09:53
[SPEAKER_01]: But if I sit in this chair and go, man, I want to get to that door, but never get up to actually get to that door, you know how long it'll take me forever.
• 1:10:00
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what most people do.
• 1:10:01
[SPEAKER_01]: They sit in their chair and they go, hey, I want to get there, but they never get up and get uncomfortable and try to actually go there.
• 1:10:09
[SPEAKER_01]: They also sit there and talk a bunch of shit about exactly about the people who are on their way to there until they get to that door So when that happens when that happens and you're around people like that because that's happens to then other people sit and chairs next to you And they make you think you're doing the right thing by sitting in chairs and all you're doing is talking about the people who are making it to the door And you know what they're talking about they're talking about the door.
• 1:10:33
[SPEAKER_01]: They're not talking about you So that's the thing we can all do those things
• 1:10:38
  [SPEAKER_01]: It's achievable.
• 1:10:39
  [SPEAKER_01]: It's believable.
• 1:10:41
  [SPEAKER_01]: There's certain thing.
• 1:10:41
[SPEAKER_01]: I will never paint like Picasso.
• 1:10:43
[SPEAKER_01]: I'll never dunk like Michael Jordan.
• 1:10:46
  [SPEAKER_01]: But work at thick.
• 1:10:47
[SPEAKER_01]: That's something all of us can do.
• 1:10:49
[SPEAKER_01]: We can all work hard.
• 1:10:51
[SPEAKER_01]: We can all try harder.
• 1:10:52
[SPEAKER_01]: We can all learn more.
• 1:10:54
[SPEAKER_01]: We can all do those things.
• 1:10:55
  [SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't matter.
• 1:10:56
  [SPEAKER_01]: And it's exponential.
• 1:10:57
  [SPEAKER_01]: It will help you.
• 1:10:59
[SPEAKER_01]: regardless to whatever degree, whatever extent that you need it to, it can do that for you.
• 1:11:04
[SPEAKER_01]: And you're a perfect living example of that.
• 1:11:07
  [SPEAKER_01]: You're not, you didn't invent teleportation.
• 1:11:10
[SPEAKER_01]: You didn't reinvent the wheel.
• 1:11:12
[SPEAKER_01]: You took a, you took a party idea that any other kid could have done and you did it.
• 1:11:17
[SPEAKER_01]: Then you met people because your net worth, your net worth, is your net worth.
• 1:11:20
[SPEAKER_01]: Then you took that skill set and then pivoted to mortgages what you saw arising need for.
• 1:11:27
[SPEAKER_01]: Anyone could have done that.
• 1:11:29
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's so real-est thing.
• 1:11:31
[SPEAKER_01]: And you're opening the door for other entrepreneurs whether they're Middle Eastern or not.
• 1:11:36
[SPEAKER_01]: You have the most handy caps when you came to this country.
• 1:11:41
[SPEAKER_01]: And now you have all the success and all the privileges.
• 1:11:45
[SPEAKER_01]: Where did that come from?
• 1:11:46
[SPEAKER_01]: Had nothing to do with anything, but you?
• 1:11:49
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's a real estate.
• 1:11:50
  [SPEAKER_03]: And that's a winner's mindset.
• 1:11:52
[SPEAKER_03]: They look at someone they go, I can replicate that.
• 1:11:55
[SPEAKER_03]: With the right mindset, with the right grit, with the right resources, with the right mentality.
• 1:12:00
[SPEAKER_03]: And for me, with a lot of hopes and prayers, you know, I, well, things have to work out for sure.
• 1:12:05
[SPEAKER_01]: You hope, but how do you know you struggle you shoot.
• 1:12:08
  [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
• 1:12:09
[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm saying all this to you because I actually need a better rate on my mortgage, you can actually do like it's like there's 6% what happened to those 3% days from long ago.
• 1:12:17
[SPEAKER_02]: What happened to those 3% days, man.
• 1:12:20
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, we're hoping after this whole thing blows over Neuron rates come back down.
• 1:12:24
[SPEAKER_03]: We've got the new Fed chair in and see.
• 1:12:26
[SPEAKER_01]: We will see how it goes.
• 1:12:28
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's the one thing like, hey, hey President Trump.
• 1:12:32
[SPEAKER_01]: Look, we put up with a lot of stuff.
• 1:12:33
  [SPEAKER_01]: Fix the economy.
• 1:12:34
[SPEAKER_01]: My guy fix the economy.
• 1:12:35
[SPEAKER_01]: That's like, I don't look all this extra stuff.
• 1:12:38
  [SPEAKER_01]: This and that.
• 1:12:38
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to fix the economy.
• 1:12:39
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's the one thing we're up.
• 1:12:41
[SPEAKER_01]: Honestly, if gas goes under two dollars, bring back slavery.
• 1:12:43
[SPEAKER_02]: look I'll be happy like we got to do something that's got to be something here you know eight dollars a gallon an L.A. right eight dollars a gallon that's why I have an E.V.
• 1:12:52
  [SPEAKER_02]: I have an E.V.
• 1:12:53
[SPEAKER_02]: yeah and who it would be crazy not to have an E.V.
• 1:12:55
  [SPEAKER_01]: right now yeah E.V.
• 1:12:56
  [SPEAKER_01]: like a lot of people don't like E.V.
• 1:12:58
  [SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry I understand until I got the E.V.
• 1:13:03
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, now I only drive EVs now.
• 1:13:05
  [SPEAKER_01]: I only drive EVs.
• 1:13:06
[SPEAKER_01]: I will have a gas car, sure, in case of apocalypse, which is sooner than than we think.
• 1:13:10
[SPEAKER_01]: But on that, I'm EVing it.
• 1:13:13
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I have spent maybe this whole year maybe $200 charging it, the whole year, and I haven't even a homer, by the way.
• 1:13:22
  [SPEAKER_01]: Love it.
• 1:13:23
  [SPEAKER_01]: Like I'm going EV.
• 1:13:24
  [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's the best.
• 1:13:25
  [SPEAKER_03]: There you go.
• 1:13:25
  [SPEAKER_03]: It's the best now.
• 1:13:26
  [SPEAKER_03]: This last segment.
• 1:13:27
  [SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
• 1:13:27
[SPEAKER_03]: It's called approved loan or for closure.
• 1:13:30
  [SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
• 1:13:31
[SPEAKER_03]: So after I give you the whether it's approved or for closure.
• 1:13:34
  [SPEAKER_03]: Tell me why.
• 1:13:35
  [SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
• 1:13:35
  [SPEAKER_03]: All right.
• 1:13:36
[SPEAKER_03]: Kevin Hart pivots to become a serious motivational speaker only approved.
• 1:13:41
[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, why one of the most motivating people I've ever met Kevin Hart remembers everyone's name.
• 1:13:46
[SPEAKER_01]: He's so dedicated and ambitious.
• 1:13:48
[SPEAKER_01]: He he does motivating motivation speaking just not in public.
• 1:13:54
[SPEAKER_01]: He does it for a Comedians behind closed doors opens the doors for all the people
• 1:13:59
[SPEAKER_01]: He helps so many people.
• 1:14:00
[SPEAKER_01]: He does all this stuff, but just even look at the guy he's so in shape He's five foot one.
• 1:14:05
[SPEAKER_01]: He's basically a smurf and he's got a six back like he works hard I'm telling you yeah, he is he is the Joe Shalabi of comedy This is a guy who works so hard.
• 1:14:16
[SPEAKER_01]: He worked to becoming a entrepreneur He became all the things.
• 1:14:21
[SPEAKER_01]: Jumaji 14 all the things
• 1:14:23
[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, he's spoken at my friend, Damplishman's conference is $100 million masterminds, and that's all motivational stuff.
• 1:14:29
  [SPEAKER_01]: Definitely approved.
• 1:14:31
[SPEAKER_03]: OK. Tiffany Haddish launches a luxury meditation candleline.
• 1:14:38
  [SPEAKER_03]: Approved.
• 1:14:39
  [SPEAKER_01]: Tiff?
• 1:14:40
  [SPEAKER_01]: Tiffany?
• 1:14:41
  [SPEAKER_01]: This is another story.
• 1:14:43
[SPEAKER_01]: Foster Kid did comic camp, which I do.
• 1:14:46
[SPEAKER_01]: I host with Tiffany at the LaFactory.
• 1:14:48
  [SPEAKER_01]: It's for
• 1:14:50
[SPEAKER_01]: It's for children between the ages of nine and 15, 16.
• 1:14:54
  [SPEAKER_01]: We teach them comedy.
• 1:14:55
[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of these kids come from a foster home background, Tiffany Haddish herself came from a foster care background, came in, had all the demons in the world, has made herself successful, has made herself all the things she wanted to be possible, and is big into that meditation, spirituality, healing things.
• 1:15:14
  [SPEAKER_01]: So her candle,
• 1:15:15
[SPEAKER_01]: I would definitely buy the candle.
• 1:15:17
[SPEAKER_01]: I definitely do the meditation.
• 1:15:19
[SPEAKER_01]: Does the candle smell like a cocoa butter?
• 1:15:22
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe, you know, since it's a cocoa butter, but it would be amazing, you know?
• 1:15:26
[SPEAKER_01]: Most of Brani runs for president.
• 1:15:30
  [SPEAKER_01]: approved, approved.
• 1:15:32
[SPEAKER_01]: Maz is one of the most fair minded, nice kind people I've ever met in my entire life.
• 1:15:39
  [SPEAKER_01]: This guy's just a wonderful person.
• 1:15:41
  [SPEAKER_03]: I love it.
• 1:15:42
[SPEAKER_03]: Dave Chappelle becomes a real estate investor here in Orange County.
• 1:15:45
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I think he already is.
• 1:15:47
  [SPEAKER_01]: Dave Chappelle bought Ohio.
• 1:15:48
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you know this, but he has this city in Ohio that's just his.
• 1:15:52
[SPEAKER_01]: Like when you go to the city, they don't even ask you where you're going to like for Dave.
• 1:15:56
  [SPEAKER_01]: He lives here.
• 1:15:56
[SPEAKER_01]: Like he's the only, like he everything's like the Chappelle.
• 1:15:59
[SPEAKER_01]: It's the Chappelle restaurant, the Chappelle bank, the Chappelle auditorium, everything.
• 1:16:04
[SPEAKER_01]: He bought this young town or whatever it's called.
• 1:16:07
[SPEAKER_01]: He owns that whole city in Ohio.
• 1:16:09
  [SPEAKER_01]: So wow.
• 1:16:10
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so I'm sure he already does.
• 1:16:12
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he probably has it for you.
• 1:16:13
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he already has a place.
• 1:16:14
[SPEAKER_01]: He probably just has a whole, I mean, it is called Newport Beach and he smokes Newport.
• 1:16:19
[SPEAKER_01]: So I think Chappelle would definitely have something.
• 1:16:22
[SPEAKER_03]: Now a comedian bombs on stage and blames Mercury Retrograde.
• 1:16:28
[SPEAKER_01]: I would foreclose on that.
• 1:16:29
[SPEAKER_01]: However, I'm pretty sure that happens a lot.
• 1:16:31
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm pretty sure that that has happened.
• 1:16:33
[SPEAKER_01]: I think maybe Whitney Cummings has done that.
• 1:16:36
[SPEAKER_01]: Elijah Schlesinger also never bombs Whitney never bombs, but if they did, it could be a mercury retrograde situation.
• 1:16:43
[SPEAKER_01]: I think that Gary Cannon has done that.
• 1:16:47
[SPEAKER_01]: I think there are companies that have done that.
• 1:16:49
[SPEAKER_01]: But I foreclose on that.
• 1:16:49
  [SPEAKER_01]: It's never the audience.
• 1:16:50
  [SPEAKER_01]: It's always us.
• 1:16:51
  [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I don't know.
• 1:16:52
  [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how I do in front
• 1:16:58
[SPEAKER_03]: Now, buying a mansion the week after your first Netflix special drops.
• 1:17:03
  [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, four clothes.
• 1:17:05
[SPEAKER_01]: That's just, you're MC hammering your life.
• 1:17:07
[SPEAKER_01]: You are just throwing away money.
• 1:17:09
[SPEAKER_01]: Like that's, I don't think people realize like when you buy things, taxes.
• 1:17:15
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think people realize that taxes never stop.
• 1:17:18
[SPEAKER_01]: They don't, they don't care if you're sick, they don't care if you're dead.
• 1:17:21
[SPEAKER_01]: You just pay taxes forever.
• 1:17:23
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's a percentage of that thing.
• 1:17:25
[SPEAKER_01]: So unless you have a,
• 1:17:26
[SPEAKER_01]: Netflix deal after Netflix deal and a hundred million dollar shappell deal never never unless your Dave's a pal.
• 1:17:33
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean that deal yeah for a short.
• 1:17:36
[SPEAKER_03]: A comedian writing off emotional support sneakers on his taxes.
• 1:17:42
  [SPEAKER_01]: Approved.
• 1:17:43
  [SPEAKER_01]: Approved.
• 1:17:45
[SPEAKER_01]: I write my speakers off so I'm like some proof.
• 1:17:47
  [SPEAKER_01]: You know what?
• 1:17:47
[SPEAKER_01]: And now I'm gonna add the words emotional support.
• 1:17:49
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to add the words emotional support.
• 1:17:51
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's actually, you know what?
• 1:17:52
[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes I do caress my shoe.
• 1:17:54
[SPEAKER_01]: I do caress my shoe.
• 1:17:55
[SPEAKER_01]: You guys, you got nice shoes, man.
• 1:17:56
[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I mean?
• 1:17:57
  [SPEAKER_02]: Sparted the wrist game.
• 1:17:58
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't always have someone to cuddle with, but I always have shoes.
• 1:18:01
  [SPEAKER_02]: No.
• 1:18:01
[SPEAKER_02]: For comedians, splitting rent in Hollywood and Hollywood Hills House.
• 1:18:05
[SPEAKER_01]: I would love to say four closed on that, but I approve.
• 1:18:08
[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes you want to be around that success.
• 1:18:11
[SPEAKER_01]: The four comedian splitting rant also not uncommon.
• 1:18:14
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, that's like actually should have been like six or eight, but four comedian splitting rant, not uncommon.
• 1:18:19
[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe you want to be depending on how much that house costs.
• 1:18:22
[SPEAKER_01]: And if you can do it, go for it.
• 1:18:24
[SPEAKER_01]: That success might motivate you.
• 1:18:26
[SPEAKER_03]: Doing open mics at night while working a mortgage desk job by day.
• 1:18:31
  [SPEAKER_01]: approved.
• 1:18:32
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's, that's, that's the real thing right there.
• 1:18:35
[SPEAKER_01]: Some people come to Hollywood and they think as soon as they step off, hey, I was prom king and prom queen in my city.
• 1:18:41
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, well, you're coming to Hollywood to be a whore, okay?
• 1:18:43
[SPEAKER_01]: You are coming here to just work at Kat Suia.
• 1:18:46
[SPEAKER_01]: You're not that big fish in a small pond anymore.
• 1:18:49
[SPEAKER_01]: You are a small fish in a ocean and you have to find your way.
• 1:18:53
  [SPEAKER_01]: So
• 1:18:54
[SPEAKER_01]: If you have to work more a gauge, if you have to do anything drive over, some people are ashamed to talk about jobs that they work, and I'm like, are you robbing banks or selling crack?
• 1:19:04
[SPEAKER_01]: Because scammers are always proud of scamming, and yet people who have amazing nine to five honorable jobs are ashamed of talking about it.
• 1:19:12
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's something backwards in society, you know?
• 1:19:15
[SPEAKER_01]: So we should be, hey, you have a mortgage job, and then you do it night, I wish you the best.
• 1:19:20
[SPEAKER_01]: Tom, I hope you do great.
• 1:19:22
[SPEAKER_03]: I tend to think this one's okay, but buying a house based on TikTok advice.
• 1:19:26
  [SPEAKER_01]: Who's advice?
• 1:19:27
[SPEAKER_01]: Am I buying it off your advice?
• 1:19:29
[SPEAKER_01]: If I had a joke, if I'm on the Joe TikTok, that's how I know so much about you.
• 1:19:34
[SPEAKER_01]: If I'm on Joe TikTok and Joe's like, oh, it looks like it's time to buy in this there.
• 1:19:39
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, and it could be handy.
• 1:19:40
[SPEAKER_01]: It'd be like buying content as soon as they open up a Starbucks.
• 1:19:44
  [SPEAKER_01]: buy.
• 1:19:44
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because Starbucks did a billion dollars in research and if you're willing to buy a $10 cup of Java, okay, coffees with Joe Shelby, then you're willing to buy your willing to increase a price of house.
• 1:19:55
[SPEAKER_01]: So if you gave me the advice true, but a lot of times it's like, hey, my name's homeless Hank and I'm giving you advice.
• 1:20:03
[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, hey, homeless Hank blocked.
• 1:20:05
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I'm not listening to, I'm not listening to that.
• 1:20:08
[SPEAKER_03]: A lot of good advice, you know, I would sit with surgeons who are telling
• 1:20:13
[SPEAKER_03]: You're learning med school on TikTok, man.
• 1:20:15
[SPEAKER_03]: Ah, maybe not go to that person.
• 1:20:17
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, no, no, no, no, if I watch you operating on my arm.
• 1:20:20
  [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm not.
• 1:20:21
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, oh, no, trust me, I just watched it on YouTube.
• 1:20:23
  [SPEAKER_02]: You're up.
• 1:20:24
[SPEAKER_02]: Like, no wonder Lucas taken so long to get back, man.
• 1:20:27
  [SPEAKER_03]: A hundred percent.
• 1:20:28
[SPEAKER_02]: Because Urgent was watching TikTok videos first.
• 1:20:30
[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I've used YouTube to put together an IKEA something.
• 1:20:34
[SPEAKER_01]: And it never looks like I think it's supposed to.
• 1:20:36
[SPEAKER_01]: That's going to be your arm.
• 1:20:38
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's not I'm good.
• 1:20:39
[SPEAKER_03]: Okay rap it rock fire movie paper fire movie.
• 1:20:42
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm a name of celebrity a city and a profession And I just need you to fire off a fake movie title.
• 1:20:49
  [SPEAKER_03]: That's okay.
• 1:20:49
[SPEAKER_03]: Michael Jackson city is Tehran
• 1:20:54
  [SPEAKER_03]: Uber driver.
• 1:20:55
  [SPEAKER_02]: Perfect.
• 1:20:56
[SPEAKER_01]: It is called wrong direction with Michael Jackson.
• 1:20:58
[SPEAKER_01]: It is about a group of singers and a boy band that are just going the wrong.
• 1:21:03
  [SPEAKER_01]: Why are you there?
• 1:21:04
  [SPEAKER_01]: Why are you there?
• 1:21:06
  [SPEAKER_01]: What?
• 1:21:06
[SPEAKER_01]: Let go of the Pepsi.
• 1:21:07
[SPEAKER_01]: Your hair cuts on fire.
• 1:21:08
  [SPEAKER_01]: Let's go back.
• 1:21:09
  [SPEAKER_01]: Let's go back.
• 1:21:10
  [SPEAKER_01]: Wrong direction.
• 1:21:10
[SPEAKER_01]: Michael Jackson and wrong direction.
• 1:21:12
  [SPEAKER_01]: Sidney Sweeney.
• 1:21:14
[SPEAKER_01]: Detroit tax account shaving Ryan's privates hear me out Sydney Sweeney in Detroit has the tax account in and the way she's keeping this job because I I love Sid but not letting her do my taxes you know what I'm saying shaving Ryan's privates.
• 1:21:31
[SPEAKER_02]: You're gonna love this one Kim Kardashian Cleveland
• 1:21:35
[SPEAKER_01]: school gym teacher for skin gump hear me out okay it's Kim Kardashian as a teacher it's like comforts can come I may be she'll pass the bar maybe she won't do I want Kim Kardashian teaching my kids unless she's teaching them BBL's probably not you know but Kim has done a lot to save for criminal reform in this country so that's what it is I get it I love it yeah she's like if you think about the last
• 1:22:02
[SPEAKER_01]: decade plus, Kim Kardashian has spent the center of every single monumentous historical event, whether it's the presidency, whether it's Kanye, whether it's every NBA team in their championships, the Kardashians have been right in the middle.
• 1:22:20
[SPEAKER_01]: She is the force gump of pop culture.
• 1:22:25
[SPEAKER_01]: So you had brought up, if I think, it's a good idea to buy a mansion right after a Netflix special.
• 1:22:32
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's interesting because especially in Hollywood, so many people lose everything.
• 1:22:36
[SPEAKER_01]: And it's oftentimes over that property, over whether it's Mike Tyson and sure he bounced back.
• 1:22:42
[SPEAKER_01]: But you remember that fiasco when he lost his everything, basically bankruptcy, MC Hammer.
• 1:22:48
[SPEAKER_01]: I can go down the list, littered with the horrible financial advice.
• 1:22:54
[SPEAKER_01]: What's great advice for you that you think that comedians or any entertainers should have when it comes to mortgage, finance, and above?
• 1:23:06
[SPEAKER_03]: Number one, don't go too big.
• 1:23:09
[SPEAKER_03]: You gotta stay within your means.
• 1:23:11
[SPEAKER_03]: You can't go, I'm gonna buy this mega house because nothing is, it incomes always,
• 1:23:17
[SPEAKER_03]: all over the place, especially when you're an entrepreneur.
• 1:23:20
  [SPEAKER_01]: It's arbitrary for sure.
• 1:23:21
[SPEAKER_03]: So I personally go, you know, just live within your means.
• 1:23:25
  [SPEAKER_03]: Don't go too big.
• 1:23:26
[SPEAKER_03]: Second off, a lot of communities don't even know they have the ability to even buy a house because you're self-employed.
• 1:23:31
[SPEAKER_03]: So they don't realize what kind of options even exist for self-employed borrowers.
• 1:23:36
[SPEAKER_03]: Like, do you own your house?
• 1:23:37
  [SPEAKER_01]: I thankfully have a building.
• 1:23:40
[SPEAKER_01]: So I have a building, and you live in buildings.
• 1:23:43
  [SPEAKER_01]: Commercial buildings?
• 1:23:44
  [SPEAKER_01]: I have apartment buildings.
• 1:23:46
[SPEAKER_03]: and you live in one of the units.
• 1:23:47
[SPEAKER_01]: I live in one of the units.
• 1:23:48
[SPEAKER_03]: That's the smartest thing to do.
• 1:23:49
[SPEAKER_03]: So what you did, you got sound advice.
• 1:23:52
[SPEAKER_03]: It has been a Easter.
• 1:23:53
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, he's like, dude, that sounds good.
• 1:23:55
[SPEAKER_02]: Actually, it was my black mom that was like, you better buy that shit.
• 1:23:58
[SPEAKER_03]: Your strategy is what I would advise anybody buying real estate that's a single and young and doesn't have kids yet.
• 1:24:04
  [SPEAKER_03]: It's House hack.
• 1:24:06
[SPEAKER_03]: And the easiest way to house hack is to buy units, but you can also just buy a house with four bedrooms and rent out every single room and that also works just as well.
• 1:24:15
[SPEAKER_03]: So if you want to buy a single family residence, you know, what's a room going for these days, 12, 1500 bucks a room easily so house hacking and buying multi units and doing it with
• 1:24:26
[SPEAKER_03]: income that's based on your bank payments or just a larger down payment.
• 1:24:31
[SPEAKER_03]: So you could buy a four unit or a three unit building in LA with just your bank payments and then you put down 10% and then you rent out all the units, you house hack your personal unit, maybe you live in the two or three bedroom, you're making money all over the place, you're able to mitigate your mortgage expenses and you get all of that interest as right off.
• 1:24:51
[SPEAKER_03]: So it's not and you get the assets,
• 1:24:55
[SPEAKER_03]: the appreciation on the property, the depreciation on the property.
• 1:24:59
[SPEAKER_03]: So real estate is multi-phase game.
• 1:25:02
  [SPEAKER_03]: It's not just singular.
• 1:25:03
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just going to secure my payments.
• 1:25:06
[SPEAKER_03]: By the way, that's a big thing in LA right now.
• 1:25:08
[SPEAKER_03]: People are suffering from rent increases all the time.
• 1:25:10
[SPEAKER_03]: That's why you have all the time.
• 1:25:11
[SPEAKER_03]: So this is a great way for you to secure your living expenses.
• 1:25:14
[SPEAKER_03]: And right now, because the market's just kind of an a pit.
• 1:25:18
[SPEAKER_03]: It's actually a great time for people to start thinking about buying.
• 1:25:20
[SPEAKER_03]: Because houses are sitting on the market longer.
• 1:25:23
[SPEAKER_03]: So you can come in.
• 1:25:24
[SPEAKER_03]: 15% 20% under asking we haven't had a moment like this in history for decades where you can get properties way under market value my question in regards to that is
• 1:25:34
[SPEAKER_01]: because a lot of entertainers don't know that they can buy.
• 1:25:37
[SPEAKER_01]: Honestly, and it's not just entertainers, it's anyone with the W9, anyone who's a consultant, business owner, whatever it is, especially small business owner.
• 1:25:46
[SPEAKER_01]: It's easy when you're making like, I make $100 million or whatever it is, but when you're just making salary.
• 1:25:52
  [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, or you're making 90 grand a year.
• 1:25:54
  [SPEAKER_03]: Exactly.
• 1:25:55
[SPEAKER_03]: how do you do that what is the they go based on your gross deposits so we can use all of your gross deposits as your actual income to purchase a property and if you're just buying an investment property you can actually use the the projected Airbnb income to qualify the property.
• 1:26:13
[SPEAKER_03]: what do you mean so if the property rents for two hundred bucks a night you know you multiply that fourteen hundred bucks a week you know six thousand bucks a month or whatever it is they use that income to as the actual expense ratio one to one so if the mortgages six grand and you're making six grand the the main qualifier so when that happens you no longer need and come at all well the thing is like remember the guy who has that uh the mortgage job during the day in the comedy at night you don't need that because you have that's what i've always
• 1:26:42
[SPEAKER_01]: When it comes to passive income, where does where does property fall?
• 1:26:46
[SPEAKER_03]: So right now, sadly in California, you're not making my chin come.
• 1:26:49
[SPEAKER_03]: The people who are buying in California right now are usually like, you know, investors looking to flip deals or, you know, but where you're making big money on passive income is going to be other states like Ohio, Arizona, Mississippi, or Colorado.
• 1:27:03
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, basically everywhere outside of California, how difficult is it to buy out of state?
• 1:27:07
[SPEAKER_03]: It's just as easy as it is to buy and stay and use higher property management company or hands off.
• 1:27:11
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, be good for you to see the property, but we as a we're a bank and a broker, licensed in 48 states.
• 1:27:15
[SPEAKER_03]: So people are always buying out of the two states.
• 1:27:18
  [SPEAKER_03]: You're not licensed.
• 1:27:19
  [SPEAKER_03]: Massachusetts and New York.
• 1:27:21
  [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, you know why.
• 1:27:23
  [SPEAKER_02]: Those are tough states.
• 1:27:24
  [SPEAKER_02]: Egyptian.
• 1:27:25
[SPEAKER_01]: They were just, they're out for you, you know?
• 1:27:27
  [SPEAKER_01]: They're like us.
• 1:27:28
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the marathon, they're just like, oh, no more, you know?
• 1:27:32
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, those two things, wow.
• 1:27:34
  [SPEAKER_01]: Those two things?
• 1:27:35
  [SPEAKER_01]: That was a marathon.
• 1:27:36
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just gonna say, I know, I think we're gonna say, Hawaii and like Alaska.
• 1:27:40
[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know why the bottom, but that was a Muslim that did that.
• 1:27:43
  [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's even poor.
• 1:27:44
[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of people don't realize that there are different, first of all, it's not even based on religious bad people or bad people, but secondly, you know, there are people that don't, they forget there are Jewish, Christian, Muslim, and above and beyond, different types of Middle Eastern.
• 1:27:57
  [SPEAKER_01]: It started there.
• 1:27:58
[SPEAKER_01]: It all started there, but they just, you know, yeah, that Boston, Marathon, do as a geohatus.
• 1:28:02
  [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's a crazy dude.
• 1:28:03
  [SPEAKER_03]: That's a crazy guy.
• 1:28:04
[SPEAKER_03]: Just gave us a bad rap.
• 1:28:05
[SPEAKER_03]: Now I can never get my business.
• 1:28:06
  [SPEAKER_03]: That's what I'm saying.
• 1:28:07
[SPEAKER_01]: It's just horrible, like Jihadi, horrible.
• 1:28:10
[SPEAKER_01]: Jihadi girl, maybe, great and bad.
• 1:28:12
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, it's just you never know, you know?
• 1:28:15
  [SPEAKER_01]: It's a willing to go down.
• 1:28:16
[SPEAKER_01]: No, kidding, this is comedy, comedy.
• 1:28:18
[SPEAKER_01]: So, if I want to purchase in Alabama, I do what?
• 1:28:23
  [SPEAKER_01]: Step A.
• 1:28:24
[SPEAKER_03]: Step A, make sure you got at least 10% down.
• 1:28:26
[SPEAKER_01]: Because I've been, I actually went to Alabama for a show and I was like to live extra.
• 1:28:31
  [SPEAKER_01]: Wow, I was surprised.
• 1:28:33
[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't expect Alabama to be as beautiful as it is.
• 1:28:36
  [SPEAKER_01]: It is.
• 1:28:36
[SPEAKER_02]: It's very nice, very modern.
• 1:28:38
  [SPEAKER_02]: So step A is.
• 1:28:40
[SPEAKER_02]: Step A, contact Joe at E Mortgage Capital, you know, you know, the deal.
• 1:28:43
  [SPEAKER_03]: Reach out to me.
• 1:28:44
[SPEAKER_03]: I'm walking to the whole process.
• 1:28:46
  [SPEAKER_01]: That's amazing.
• 1:28:47
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, because you're you're a thuzzi a thuzzi baby except in your Arkansas students, but we do Business in your Massachusetts just just investment properties.
• 1:28:56
  [SPEAKER_03]: I love that.
• 1:28:56
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that's what I would love to get into How easy is it to get into investment properties like a lot of people come to you because they want to buy their home But what about I want to buy?
• 1:29:05
[SPEAKER_01]: They're home, meaning I want to purchase someone's home because I want it to be my passive income.
• 1:29:10
[SPEAKER_03]: It's as easy as you just calling me, call me and we'll get, we'll make it happen.
• 1:29:14
[SPEAKER_03]: I'll even go as far as talking to the real estate agent for you and, you know, grinding them.
• 1:29:18
  [SPEAKER_01]: I love that.
• 1:29:19
[SPEAKER_01]: I love it because it's something more people ownership is definitely something more people and it's just not all people, American people, people of color, minorities, immigrants,
• 1:29:30
[SPEAKER_01]: ownership is definitely the path.
• 1:29:32
[SPEAKER_03]: It's the start of your network.
• 1:29:34
  [SPEAKER_03]: It's the start.
• 1:29:35
[SPEAKER_03]: If you are looking at how to become wealthy, you start with the basics, start with real estate.
• 1:29:41
[SPEAKER_01]: What are the books that I should read on how to build things like this?
• 1:29:46
[SPEAKER_03]: rising from the sand by Joseph shall be here for but no seriously no it's a see what that is here but I don't know talk about that obviously becoming wealthy through real estate in that book but i mean one of the biggest and most inspirational books for me was the book thinking girl rich just because it just changes your mindset about how to become wealthy were you big rich that poor dad fan
• 1:30:09
[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I mean Robert Kawasaki is amazing.
• 1:30:11
  [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, yeah.
• 1:30:12
  [SPEAKER_03]: And also great motorcycles.
• 1:30:15
[SPEAKER_03]: And he did pin down how to really leverage us, the bankers, how to use that to build your wealth.
• 1:30:23
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean Robert Kawasaki, till this very day, is very, very leveraged.
• 1:30:28
[SPEAKER_03]: But his net worth is hundreds of millions.
• 1:30:31
  [SPEAKER_01]: Wow.
• 1:30:32
  [SPEAKER_01]: What is leverage?
• 1:30:33
[SPEAKER_03]: He's using our money, the banks money, to buy bigger properties.
• 1:30:37
[SPEAKER_03]: So he'll use a couple of million dollars from us.
• 1:30:39
[SPEAKER_03]: He'll roll it into a big commercial building.
• 1:30:42
  [SPEAKER_03]: It's worth $20 million.
• 1:30:44
  [SPEAKER_03]: He borrowed $10 million.
• 1:30:46
  [SPEAKER_03]: It appreciated.
• 1:30:46
  [SPEAKER_03]: He'll flip it.
• 1:30:48
[SPEAKER_03]: So he's not using his own money.
• 1:30:51
[SPEAKER_03]: Actually, a big example of this is Donald Trump.
• 1:30:53
[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, Donald Trump at some point was so overlivers, he was negative $100 billion.
• 1:30:58
[SPEAKER_03]: Right, or some negative 100 million and he would make fun of himself like look to his wife walking on the street like to see that homeless man, I'm a hundred million dollars poor than him.
• 1:31:07
[SPEAKER_03]: But then boom, everything takes off, the real estate turns, the market turns.
• 1:31:11
[SPEAKER_01]: But see, to be very transparent to someone like myself, that just seems what the buildings, I saw a good investment.
• 1:31:20
[SPEAKER_01]: And I had someone to kind of guide me and tell me, hey, you should do this or do that.
• 1:31:24
[SPEAKER_01]: But everybody needs to be so unedeivable.
• 1:31:27
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, how do you even do that?
• 1:31:28
[SPEAKER_01]: How do you get into that?
• 1:31:29
[SPEAKER_01]: How is that not the scariest thing ever?
• 1:31:31
[SPEAKER_03]: Everybody needs a good accountant and everybody needs a good loan officer.
• 1:31:35
[SPEAKER_03]: It's just something that you have to have.
• 1:31:37
[SPEAKER_03]: You have to have someone to consult with when it comes to your health or doctor.
• 1:31:41
[SPEAKER_03]: You got to have someone to consult with when it comes to your taxes.
• 1:31:44
[SPEAKER_03]: You got to have someone to consult when it comes to buying real estate.
• 1:31:47
[SPEAKER_03]: You know, and taking cash out to leverage your existing real estate.
• 1:31:51
[SPEAKER_03]: It's just part of the arsenal you have to have.
• 1:31:53
[SPEAKER_03]: In fact, that you don't got one now, you do now.
• 1:31:56
  [SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
• 1:31:57
  [SPEAKER_01]: I need to, I need, I wanna do more, that's why.
• 1:31:59
[SPEAKER_01]: And you make it seem so easy.
• 1:32:01
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want you to say easy, but it's digestible.
• 1:32:04
[SPEAKER_01]: You say it in a way that even I understand.
• 1:32:07
[SPEAKER_01]: I can comprehend, I can, I feel like, oh, wow, I can do this.
• 1:32:11
[SPEAKER_03]: Just like your comedy, bro, you make it digestible.
• 1:32:12
[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, that's the thing about comedians and mortgage broker.
• 1:32:15
[SPEAKER_01]: We make it look so easy, everyone thinks they can do it.
• 1:32:17
[SPEAKER_01]: And the thing about it is when it comes to mortgages, everyone can.
• 1:32:20
[SPEAKER_01]: When it comes to comedy, please don't, please stop.
• 1:32:23
[SPEAKER_01]: You guys, stop, please, please, please stop.
• 1:32:26
[SPEAKER_03]: Tehran, you've been an absolute pleasure to have on this show.
• 1:32:29
[SPEAKER_03]: Your hilarious, your talent is just through the roof.
• 1:32:33
  [SPEAKER_03]: And the Riz!
• 1:32:34
[SPEAKER_03]: I was about to say that.
• 1:32:35
  [SPEAKER_03]: Riz game broke.
• 1:32:36
  [SPEAKER_03]: It's on another level.
• 1:32:38
  [SPEAKER_03]: I appreciate you.
• 1:32:38
[SPEAKER_03]: Any big projects you want to plug in before we tune out here?
• 1:32:41
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, of course, look for me on Netflix Comedy Central.

• 1:33:20
  [SPEAKER_01]: Every every hour.
• 1:33:21
[SPEAKER_01]: They literally blame me for everything because the thing is when you watch news and you hear the word Tehran Most people think oh the city would but I think me.
• 1:33:29
  [SPEAKER_01]: I think me.
• 1:33:30
[SPEAKER_01]: This is my name I don't think oh immediately like if you hear Joe you're not thinking Joe Rogan You're thinking Joe Sholaby like you're thinking yourself if someone said this this Joe
• 1:33:40
  [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I think that when they're like, it's Tehran's fault.
• 1:33:43
[SPEAKER_01]: We blamed Tehran, we must kill Tehran.
• 1:33:45
  [SPEAKER_01]: Like, why?
• 1:33:46
  [SPEAKER_01]: What did I do?
• 1:33:47
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, okay.
• 1:33:48
[SPEAKER_01]: I appreciate you for having me.

  [SPEAKER_01]: I'm a green tea matcha guy.
• 1:33:57
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, that's how it goes.
• 1:33:59
[SPEAKER_01]: So thank you so much for making that amazing concoction.
• 1:34:02
[SPEAKER_01]: I appreciate you for doing this.
• 1:34:03
[SPEAKER_01]: And I appreciate you for having me.
• 1:34:04
  [SPEAKER_01]: I learned a lot.
• 1:34:05
  [SPEAKER_01]: I learned a lot.
• 1:34:06
  [SPEAKER_01]: I learned a lot.
• 1:34:07
  [SPEAKER_01]: I learned a lot.
• 1:34:08
  [SPEAKER_01]: It's a composition.
• 1:34:09
  [SPEAKER_01]: I learned a lot.
• 1:34:10
[SPEAKER_01]: You know, we all learned a lot.
• 1:34:12
[SPEAKER_01]: I just feel like I'm going to talk to you about these, uh, leverages and mortgages and I'm going to have you speak at our next conference.
• 1:34:19
  [SPEAKER_03]: Well, bust some jokes.
• 1:34:20
[SPEAKER_01]: I want to go 100 million in debt.
• 1:34:21
[SPEAKER_01]: I want to be president one day, you know?
• 1:34:23
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you know, I don't want to do all the other things he did to get there.
• 1:34:26
[SPEAKER_01]: But that part, I can do.
• 1:34:27
  [SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you.
• 1:34:28
[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much for having me on the show.
• 1:34:30
[SPEAKER_01]: I can't wait to tell you about leverage and comedy and then hopefully you tell me about leverage and more because I need a, I need that in my life.
