- 0:00Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Hello, welcome to Inside the Tape on Inside the Birds.
- 0:12Speaker 2: I'm Jeff Mosher with Adam Kaplan and Greg Cosell comes
- 0:15Speaker 2: back for this part two to join us to break
- 0:17Speaker 2: down the tape of the Eagles defense, a far more
- 0:20Speaker 2: productive unit in their loss against the Jaguars than the
- 0:25Speaker 2: offense was. So there'll be some interesting things to talk
- 0:27Speaker 2: about on defense. Unfortunately, you know, some injuries really hurt
- 0:30Speaker 2: them on that part of the field as well, Greg.
- 0:34Speaker 2: But we did see The rebirth, perhaps, of Jalen Carter
- 0:38Speaker 2: as a defensive force in the middle.
- 0:41Speaker 1: His first half, he had some really dominant snaps, really
- 0:44Speaker 1: dominant snaps. Looked really good, looked quick, explosive off the ball.
- 0:48Speaker 1: You saw that club swim move, which we've seen in
- 0:50Speaker 1: the past, when he's at his best. I thought Jordan
- 0:54Speaker 1: Davis actually had some really good pass rush snaps as well,
- 0:58Speaker 1: which we have not seen through the early part of
- 1:00Speaker 1: this season. They were forced to play. Kenny Moore had
- 1:04Speaker 1: to play the whole second half. at a position he
- 1:07Speaker 1: hadn't really played in the NFL. So we saw that.
- 1:12Speaker 1: But yeah, I mean, they didn't look, one could certainly
- 1:15Speaker 1: make the argument that if the Jaguars were more efficient
- 1:18Speaker 1: in certain areas of the field, that the Eagles could
- 1:20Speaker 1: have given up two more touchdowns, but you know, the
- 1:24Speaker 1: games play out a certain way, you know, the one
- 1:27Speaker 1: thing that we know is they don't do real well
- 1:31Speaker 1: is they don't necessarily rush the quarterback really well. And
- 1:35Speaker 1: you know, We'll see what the injury is with J.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Alex Hunt. As we're talking today, we don't know what
- 1:39Speaker 1: that is. You know, my guess is he's going to
- 1:42Speaker 1: miss some time. Let's just hope it's not season ending.
- 1:46Speaker 1: You know, we'll see. But, you know, that's– but Carter, obviously,
- 1:53Speaker 1: you know, first half, I mean, there were some snaps
- 1:56Speaker 1: where he went, wow, that is really impressive.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Right, right.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Greg, how much did Zach Bond stand out to you,
- 2:03Speaker 1: his return to the league? Oh, Zach Bond was really good.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Zach Bond is just a really good football player. And
- 2:08Speaker 1: by the way, they used him. I mean, Vic changed
- 2:11Speaker 1: up in this game how he played. And maybe it's because,
- 2:14Speaker 1: you know, look, Vic's this is not his first rodeo.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Vic's not going to just do the same thing if
- 2:19Speaker 1: it's not working. So therefore, they played much more single
- 2:23Speaker 1: high in this game. And therefore, they blitzed more in
- 2:25Speaker 1: this game, much more so than what their percentage had
- 2:28Speaker 1: been through four games. And Bond was the key to
- 2:31Speaker 1: all this. Bond was the key both in five-man pressures
- 2:34Speaker 1: and in four-man sim pressures. He was the guy. I
- 2:37Speaker 1: think Bond probably, other than I can remember one where
- 2:41Speaker 1: Dejean was the edge rusher in a four-man sim pressure,
- 2:45Speaker 1: I think it was literally Bond every time it was
- 2:47Speaker 1: a four-man sim pressure. So he was kind of the
- 2:50Speaker 1: key guy in that regard. He's just a really good player. Look,
- 2:53Speaker 1: I don't think Campbell played a bad game. He had
- 2:55Speaker 1: bad eyes on one play on the Parker Washington 51-yard touchdown.
- 2:59Speaker 1: He Washington wasn't his man, but he had bad eyes.
- 3:02Speaker 1: He just didn't recognize it. But I don't think he
- 3:05Speaker 1: played poorly in this game, you know. So, you know,
- 3:08Speaker 1: we'll see. I mean, obviously Kenny Moore got beat a
- 3:10Speaker 1: couple times in coverage, you know, in the second half.
- 3:13Speaker 1: But he's also playing a position, you know, that he's
- 3:16Speaker 1: not used to playing. And then you just see the
- 3:18Speaker 1: game differently. You know, that's the thing. You see the
- 3:20Speaker 1: game differently.
- 3:22Speaker 2: When they went dime, Greg, which I think they played
- 3:24Speaker 2: more of this game than in the past.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Well, they played four snaps of it in the second half,
- 3:28Speaker 1: and they brought Jones in.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Okay. Interesting. I didn't know if that was– when they
- 3:34Speaker 2: did play dime, was the one linebacker Vaughn? Oh, yeah.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Vaughn plays every snap. When Vaughn's healthy, he plays every
- 3:40Speaker 1: snap every week.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Right. So that was– we were trying to reconcile. Was
- 3:44Speaker 2: that Vic just getting Campbell a breather? Because you remember
- 3:47Speaker 2: he was on the report with the knee injury, or
- 3:49Speaker 2: is it just because they– You know, he's trying to
- 3:51Speaker 2: put Campbell in the best positions to succeed. That was
- 3:54Speaker 2: a big kind of question mark.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Well, I mean, if you're going to play dime, and again,
- 3:57Speaker 1: I don't know the reason he chose to. Only he
- 4:00Speaker 1: can tell you that. But you're certainly not taking Vaughn
- 4:02Speaker 1: off the field. So, you know, I don't know if
- 4:05Speaker 1: he played dime because he didn't want Campbell on the
- 4:07Speaker 1: field or he played dime because he thought that playing dime,
- 4:10Speaker 1: six DBs, was the best way to go. And if
- 4:13Speaker 1: you're doing that, then Campbell's coming off the field. Sure. Yeah. Sure. Okay.
- 4:19Speaker 2: I mean, man, the Eagles won the turnover ratio again
- 4:22Speaker 2: on the road and lost. They continue to do things
- 4:25Speaker 2: that cut across the grain of the, of data and
- 4:28Speaker 2: trends in the NFL, the interception.
- 4:31Speaker 1: You know, it's funny. I'm certainly not well-schooled in the
- 4:35Speaker 1: analytics and sabermetrics of, of, you know, all this stuff. Like,
- 4:39Speaker 1: like someone like the Ryan Pagnetti's of the world. Okay.
- 4:42Speaker 1: And maybe he would tell me I'm an idiot, but
- 4:44Speaker 1: you know, I don't know. Maybe I'm a dinosaur in
- 4:47Speaker 1: that regard. And, and if I am okay, I am,
- 4:50Speaker 1: you know, I try to be as open-minded about all
- 4:52Speaker 1: this stuff as possible, but I, you know, just to me, that's,
- 4:56Speaker 1: and I, and actually heard Tom Brady talk about this,
- 4:58Speaker 1: do it during the, um, the, I guess he did
- 5:00Speaker 1: the 49ers. Uh, did he do the 49ers Seahawks game? Yeah. Yeah.
- 5:05Speaker 1: You know, at some point you got to get points,
- 5:08Speaker 1: you know, you got to get points, you know, and,
- 5:10Speaker 1: and look, I'm not going to sit here and rip coaches.
- 5:13Speaker 1: I don't do that, but I'm watching the game. Um,
- 5:16Speaker 1: And at the end of the first half, I'm just
- 5:18Speaker 1: thinking to myself, after that third down play didn't work
- 5:20Speaker 1: and there's one second left on the clock, I just
- 5:22Speaker 1: said to myself, okay, they're going to kick the field
- 5:23Speaker 1: goal and make it 14-10. Now, like I said, I'm
- 5:27Speaker 1: not ripping– you know, Liam Cohen has way more information
- 5:29Speaker 1: than I have. But I just think at some point
- 5:32Speaker 1: you've got to get points.
- 5:34Speaker 2: I was shocked that they didn't kick the field goal. Yeah.
- 5:36Speaker 2: I mean, I understood, you know, I mean, we all were.
- 5:39Speaker 2: And then he did it again in the third quarter,
- 5:40Speaker 2: I thought, where he.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Well, then he went with the gimmick. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 5:44Speaker 1: He went with the gimmick play on, you.
- 5:46Speaker 2: Know, I was talking about that.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Adam knows Lou Russo, who's my guy on the matchup
- 5:51Speaker 1: show and Lou's the, you know, he's the greatest. And,
- 5:55Speaker 1: you know, we were just talking, when you get down
- 5:57Speaker 1: to the one yard line, like, you could literally run
- 6:01Speaker 1: a quarterback sneak three times. Is the defense going to
- 6:04Speaker 1: stop a quarterback sneak three times? Probably not.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Probably not.
- 6:07Speaker 1: You know, and again, I'm just throwing stuff against the
- 6:10Speaker 1: wall now. People listening who are into analytics could tell
- 6:12Speaker 1: me I'm crazy. And you know what? Maybe I am. But,
- 6:15Speaker 1: you know, I just think like, you know, you put
- 6:19Speaker 1: Chris Rodriguez back there and he's got a whole different
- 6:21Speaker 1: cadence and a whole different count and your left tackle moves.
- 6:23Speaker 1: And by the way, your left tackle is a backup
- 6:25Speaker 1: because Anton Harrison got hurt. You know, I mean, again,
- 6:31Speaker 1: no knock, you know, these guys, they, they study, they
- 6:33Speaker 1: got 20 people doing this. You know, I'm just one
- 6:35Speaker 1: idiot doing this, but I just think to myself, you know,
- 6:38Speaker 1: at some point you got to get points and at
- 6:40Speaker 1: some point you got to just line up and play. Right. Absolutely. Great.
- 6:44Speaker 2: We talked about Parker Washington in the pregame show, his place, right.
- 6:48Speaker 2: The kind of player he can be. Obviously had a
- 6:50Speaker 2: big game, kind of a weird game. Two huge plays
- 6:52Speaker 2: and then not as much in between. But that second touchdown.
- 6:55Speaker 1: He's got more juice than you think, though. You saw
- 6:57Speaker 1: it on the 51-yard touchdown. I mean, he can run
- 7:00Speaker 1: a little bit. Yeah, yeah.
- 7:02Speaker 2: I mean, he wound up being like 20% of their
- 7:04Speaker 2: entire offense with those two catches. So what did you
- 7:08Speaker 2: see just in the, so there was a 32 yarder
- 7:11Speaker 2: to Cameron and there was a 25 yarder to Brenton strange.
- 7:14Speaker 2: I do think the Eagles play well. And I do
- 7:16Speaker 2: think you have to, you have to accept that they
- 7:18Speaker 2: were on the field so much because the.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Offense, Oh my God. Yeah. Way too much.
- 7:22Speaker 2: But did you feel that those were good Jaguars plays
- 7:25Speaker 2: or just a little bit of a tired breakdown in
- 7:28Speaker 2: the second half?
- 7:28Speaker 1: Well, I thought, I mean, and I don't know what
- 7:31Speaker 1: we're going to show on defense, so I don't want
- 7:32Speaker 1: to start breaking down plays. Are we showing the Washington touchdown? Yeah,
- 7:35Speaker 1: we'll show that. Yes. All right. Well, then I don't
- 7:38Speaker 1: want to go in. I'll just say that.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Go to it now.
- 7:40Speaker 1: We'll go to it now. Okay, let's go to it now.
- 7:42Speaker 1: I love it.
- 7:43Speaker 2: That makes it easier for everybody. All right.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Yeah. Which one do you have to get up first?
- 7:47Speaker 2: I wanted to focus on the Carter sacks and the
- 7:50Speaker 2: David pass rush. So this was the first Carter one.
- 7:54Speaker 1: This was the strip sack on first and 20 on
- 7:56Speaker 1: their first possession?
- 7:57Speaker 2: It is, yes.
- 7:58Speaker 1: All right. So this was just lateral quickness off the
- 8:01Speaker 1: ball followed by the club swim move. And I thought
- 8:03Speaker 1: what was interesting here is the Eagles went cover two
- 8:06Speaker 1: invert behind it. And just so people know what cover
- 8:10Speaker 1: two invert means, it means that instead of safeties being
- 8:13Speaker 1: the half field defenders in cover two, the corners become
- 8:16Speaker 1: half field defenders in cover two. So that's what they
- 8:20Speaker 1: played here. So the corners became the half field players.
- 8:24Speaker 1: You know, you can see woman down below, look, you know,
- 8:26Speaker 1: look how he's, he's going to go inside and be
- 8:29Speaker 1: a half field player. But, but this is just Carter,
- 8:31Speaker 1: which I assume you also have from the end zone. Yes.
- 8:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Cause that's, that's where you really see it. I mean, look,
- 8:37Speaker 1: look at the lateral quickness off the ball to get Cleveland,
- 8:40Speaker 1: the right guard immediately leaning on his inside leg. As
- 8:43Speaker 1: soon as he leans on his inside leg, he is
- 8:46Speaker 1: done because then he clubs them and, and swims them and,
- 8:50Speaker 1: and we're off to the races.
- 8:52Speaker 2: He does some subtle pre-snap movements sometimes, some shifting on
- 8:55Speaker 2: his own.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Well, look right. I mean, if you can go a
- 8:59Speaker 1: little slower, I don't know how slow you can, but
- 9:02Speaker 1: you can see that he starts to his right. So
- 9:05Speaker 1: look at Cleveland take a step with his left foot,
- 9:08Speaker 1: and then he leans to his left. Look, he's done right.
- 9:11Speaker 1: Do you see how wide his feet got? Yeah. Right there.
- 9:13Speaker 1: He's done. He's done.
- 9:14Speaker 2: It's like a crossover in basketball.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Yeah, you can't do anything with your feet that wide,
- 9:20Speaker 1: you know, as far as an athletic move. Right.
- 9:22Speaker 2: It's amazing they couldn't recover either of his two sacks.
- 9:26Speaker 2: But this one is the second one. It's on second
- 9:30Speaker 2: and 11, I believe.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Same. Yeah. Oh, this is actually a TE stun.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Okay.
- 9:38Speaker 1: So he actually beats the right tackle here because it's
- 9:41Speaker 1: a TE stun. Right. Because he's actually the picker slash
- 9:43Speaker 1: penetrator here. So he's attacking Van Lannen. the right tackle.
- 9:49Speaker 1: There it is. And there it is. He's working outside
- 9:52Speaker 1: of him because Nolan Smith is coming inside on the
- 9:55Speaker 1: on the, the T stunt. And then he beats Van
- 9:58Speaker 1: Landen with a rip move. You could see the tail
- 10:00Speaker 1: end of the rip move right there. Yeah.
- 10:02Speaker 2: By the way, Nolan Smith was really wide on this stuff.
- 10:06Speaker 2: I can't remember.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Again, I don't know how they teach it. And also
- 10:10Speaker 1: he sort of had to get around the tight end,
- 10:13Speaker 1: but he was very wide. It took him a little
- 10:15Speaker 1: too long. Yeah.
- 10:16Speaker 2: And then he kind of, stopped up with the traffic.
- 10:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:19Speaker 2: So maybe he thought, maybe he was worried that Lawrence
- 10:21Speaker 2: was going to run.
- 10:21Speaker 1: He gave the right guard a chance to, you know,
- 10:23Speaker 1: easily react to him.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Yeah. Carter for a big guy is good at doing
- 10:27Speaker 2: that sprawled out strip.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:28Speaker 2: All right. This is Jordan Davis on the very next play.
- 10:33Speaker 2: So then it's third and 21. I know you noted
- 10:35Speaker 2: that he had some good rushes.
- 10:37Speaker 1: He did. Look at him here. The lateral quickness right
- 10:42Speaker 1: off the ball. I mean, that's what you want to see. Right.
- 10:46Speaker 1: I've been watching Jacksonville every week, by the way, and
- 10:48Speaker 1: I think their rookie left guard, Prednan, is having a
- 10:50Speaker 1: hard time. And he had a hard time in this game.
- 10:53Speaker 1: He had a lot of penalties, too. And their scene overall,
- 10:56Speaker 1: talking to personal people, is a very average offensive line.
- 10:58Speaker 1: That's kind of a weakness for them that may or
- 11:00Speaker 1: may not be exploited. All right.
- 11:02Speaker 2: This is the Washington touchdown. What did you want to– Okay.
- 11:05Speaker 1: This, to me, was just a super well-schemed play. Okay.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Because what they do is they go run action to
- 11:11Speaker 1: the left side of their offense, and they bring Parker
- 11:14Speaker 1: Washington– across the formation, behind the line of scrimmage. So
- 11:19Speaker 1: you can see, look how everybody's reacting. In particular, if
- 11:22Speaker 1: you go back to the beginning, Jeff, look at Makubu
- 11:24Speaker 1: coming down hard. Now, I think he's coming down hard anyway,
- 11:27Speaker 1: but still on this particular play, he's coming down hard.
- 11:32Speaker 1: And I personally think he's responsible for Washington, but he
- 11:36Speaker 1: came down so hard that by the time he saw
- 11:40Speaker 1: it and reacted, he's too late.
- 11:44Speaker 2: So when you said bad eyes by Campbell.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Well, look at Campbell. Campbell did not recognize what's going
- 11:50Speaker 1: on here. Look, you can see. Keep going. Look at
- 11:53Speaker 1: him look back inside. Right there. He stops and looks
- 11:57Speaker 1: back inside. Yep. Yep.
- 12:00Speaker 2: I know that. Do you think Makuba is sort of
- 12:02Speaker 2: peeking into the backfield just because he's coming down?
- 12:04Speaker 1: You know, because he started coming down before the play
- 12:07Speaker 1: kind of developed. I was wondering if that was the
- 12:10Speaker 1: call that he was supposed to come down because I
- 12:12Speaker 1: believe this was first down. So I was just wondering
- 12:16Speaker 1: if that's what he was supposed to do, you know,
- 12:18Speaker 1: as built into the, as a mechanic of the play call. Correct.
- 12:22Speaker 1: So I don't know the answer to that for sure.
- 12:24Speaker 1: But once he came down that hard, it's hard to,
- 12:27Speaker 1: you know, retrace and get outside. But Parker to Washington
- 12:30Speaker 1: shows some juice too.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Here's the burst, right? Because Makuba does get back in
- 12:34Speaker 2: time to at least try to get him, but he
- 12:36Speaker 2: just can't catch up to him.
- 12:38Speaker 1: No.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Now, here's where I had a little bit of an issue, Greg.
- 12:41Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know. It's hard to see it
- 12:43Speaker 2: from TV. You know, Woolen trying to get off a block.
- 12:45Speaker 2: He's getting blocked by Myers like five yards away. I
- 12:50Speaker 2: just didn't know if Woolen did the best job he
- 12:52Speaker 2: could have to get off.
- 12:53Speaker 1: Yeah, that's hard to know. You know, I always struggle with,
- 12:56Speaker 1: you know, whether the guys, you know, who knows.
- 12:59Speaker 2: This is a good angle of what you were talking about.
- 13:01Speaker 1: Yeah, because, see, because– Makuba was coming down even just
- 13:05Speaker 1: before the ball was snapped. So I wonder if that
- 13:07Speaker 1: was a mechanic of the defensive play call. And then
- 13:10Speaker 1: he just gets stuck inside. And then he's in chase mode.
- 13:13Speaker 1: He's in recovery mode. Yep.
- 13:14Speaker 2: And you're right.
- 13:14Speaker 1: But see, look at it. You freeze it right there.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Look at Campbell. Look where Campbell's looking. Yeah. Yeah.
- 13:21Speaker 2: He's just lost on that.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Yep. Yeah.
- 13:24Speaker 2: All right. Fall is the season where everyone gets busier,

- 15:39Speaker 2: Prize picks run your game. This is the first drive,
- 15:42Speaker 2: I'm sorry, the last drive for the Jags before halftime.
- 15:45Speaker 1: So this was where Carter kills the right guard, but
- 15:49Speaker 1: also is this the one where Dijon gets in clean?
- 15:52Speaker 2: It might be that one as well.
- 15:53Speaker 1: No, no, this is a different one. Oh, this is Carter.
- 15:56Speaker 1: This was a good play, no question. But this was
- 15:59Speaker 1: one where if you see it from this angle, you're
- 16:01Speaker 1: going to see that he doesn't really beat anybody because
- 16:04Speaker 1: of the way they block it. Ah, yeah. Yeah, he
- 16:07Speaker 1: doesn't– I mean, no knock on the play. You still
- 16:09Speaker 1: got to make plays. But he doesn't really beat an
- 16:12Speaker 1: individual on this play. Yep. Right, right.
- 16:15Speaker 2: All right, so the last play of the half, Greg,
- 16:17Speaker 2: you got to explain to me what– is that Chris
- 16:20Speaker 2: Rodriguez who's flexed wide? Is it 24?
- 16:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:25Speaker 2: What was the– what do you think was the– design
- 16:28Speaker 2: of this.
- 16:31Speaker 1: You know i i can't speak to this and i'm
- 16:34Speaker 1: being honest.
- 16:35Speaker 2: I put you on the spot didn't i yeah yeah and.
- 16:37Speaker 1: I and i'm not gonna rip the coach i don't
- 16:39Speaker 1: do that ever right you know because obviously they thought
- 16:42Speaker 1: this was their best best fourth down play and he's
- 16:44Speaker 1: got way more information than i have so i'm not
- 16:47Speaker 1: gonna sit here and say you know but you know
- 16:50Speaker 1: i'm not i guess this is the kind of play
- 16:53Speaker 1: where you're trying i don't want to say trick the
- 16:54Speaker 1: defense but you know you're you're trying to do something
- 16:58Speaker 1: a little out of the ordinary because, you know, you're
- 17:00Speaker 1: going outside. I mean, now the guy with the ball
- 17:04Speaker 1: when you're on the one yard line is at the
- 17:05Speaker 1: six yard line.
- 17:06Speaker 2: Right.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Right.
- 17:09Speaker 2: And then you were asking Chris Rodriguez to put a block,
- 17:11Speaker 2: I guess, from a position he's not normally blocking from. Right.
- 17:16Speaker 1: So again, I don't, I, I'm just being honest. I
- 17:18Speaker 1: don't know what to say and I'm not going to
- 17:20Speaker 1: sit here and then rip Liam Cohen, who's obviously for
- 17:22Speaker 1: the most part done an unbelievably great job in Jacksonville. Um,
- 17:26Speaker 1: but you know, they were on the one yard line.
- 17:30Speaker 1: I mean, to me, you know, but anyway, that's, I
- 17:34Speaker 1: don't know. Yeah.
- 17:36Speaker 2: That was born. I think I meant to, I said.
- 17:37Speaker 1: This was born. This was the play hunt got hurt too.
- 17:41Speaker 2: That was the play hunt got hurt. Yeah.
- 17:44Speaker 1: Right there.
- 17:46Speaker 2: And boy, look at the Jomo's penetration. He's getting really
- 17:49Speaker 2: good at the cadence.
- 17:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:51Speaker 2: He does this a lot of where he jumps the cadence,
- 17:53Speaker 2: gets the penetration. I know it had nothing to do
- 17:55Speaker 2: with the play, but. It's just something that we've been
- 17:57Speaker 2: seeing from a Jomo.
- 17:58Speaker 1: All right.
- 17:59Speaker 2: The next one would be, uh, let's see. Um, this is,
- 18:02Speaker 2: so this is the Cameron 32 yarder.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. This, I believe came against man coverage and,
- 18:09Speaker 1: and he just beat the gene across the field and
- 18:11Speaker 1: in Cameron, I did him coming out of Baylor and
- 18:14Speaker 1: he's not a juicy guy by any stretch, but he's
- 18:16Speaker 1: big and he's physical and he's strong. Um, and you know,
- 18:20Speaker 1: you saw that here. I mean, he, he, um, The
- 18:24Speaker 1: Eagles were in cover one behind a five-man pressure. We
- 18:26Speaker 1: mentioned Vaughn was always the fifth rusher. Here he is here.
- 18:29Speaker 2: That's why I wanted to show it.
- 18:30Speaker 1: If Cameron from the field slot beats Dejean on the crosser,
- 18:34Speaker 1: then just strong lower body. He's got a strong lower body.
- 18:38Speaker 1: You can see he beats Dejean. Dejean's got him man-to-man.
- 18:41Speaker 1: This is cover one. Good ball. He's not going to
- 18:47Speaker 1: run away from anybody, but this kid's physical. He's tough,
- 18:49Speaker 1: and he catches the ball.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Yeah, if we were an eagle, Adam, we would talk
- 18:53Speaker 2: about the story of development, Josh Cameron.
- 18:55Speaker 1: I mean, that was a really good play. In fact,
- 18:57Speaker 1: I know they say they're not trained Brian Thomas, but
- 19:00Speaker 1: we'll see what happens at the trade deadline. Well, the
- 19:02Speaker 1: thing that Thomas gives them, and I know that they
- 19:04Speaker 1: might not– who knows? I don't know what they think.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Maybe you know, Adam. You just can't get him the ball. Right,
- 19:09Speaker 1: but the point is he does give you a vertical dimension,
- 19:12Speaker 1: whereas if they get rid of him, they don't have
- 19:14Speaker 1: a vertical dimension. Yep, right.
- 19:16Speaker 2: Right. So this play, we're going to talk about the
- 19:18Speaker 2: Quinnian Mitchell interception, but Greg, I thought what happened up
- 19:21Speaker 2: front was a big reason for that. And Vic sort
- 19:24Speaker 2: of in the second half here, trying to make things happen.
- 19:27Speaker 1: Yeah. Um, this was, um, um, the Mitchell interception came
- 19:32Speaker 1: on a zero coverage at a nickel. Yeah.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Don't see that a whole lot from, from correct.
- 19:37Speaker 1: No. Cause Vic's, you know, look, you gotta, when games
- 19:40Speaker 1: go a certain way, you know, then you gotta play
- 19:42Speaker 1: the game, you know, You can't just say this is
- 19:45Speaker 1: what we do, you know. Smith beat the right tackle
- 19:48Speaker 1: Van Lannen off the edge forcing, you know, Lawrence to
- 19:51Speaker 1: step up. He was hurried. It was undefined for him.
- 19:54Speaker 1: And then Mitchell made her, you know, made the play.
- 19:56Speaker 1: I mean, that's what happened here.
- 19:58Speaker 2: Yeah. Heck of an interception for Mitchell.
- 20:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:01Speaker 2: You can see it from this angle. All the guys
- 20:02Speaker 2: were coming and born again, as you mentioned, born coming
- 20:05Speaker 2: on a lot of blitzes.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Born was the guy, but this was zero. So Campbell
- 20:09Speaker 1: came too. Correct. Epiketty got in, too. You know what?
- 20:14Speaker 1: He had some good snaps, too, 17. Oh, cool. And
- 20:17Speaker 1: he might have to play a lot, you know, obviously.
- 20:21Speaker 1: Epinesa's a much better run defender, and Epiketty's a much
- 20:24Speaker 1: better pass rusher. You know, Goddard worked out before the
- 20:26Speaker 1: game he wasn't ready, but hopefully he'll be back this week. Yeah,
- 20:29Speaker 1: hopefully next week.
- 20:30Speaker 2: All right, now we've got this last one.
- 20:32Speaker 1: Next week they play the quarterback that is averaging the
- 20:34Speaker 1: most passing yards per game in the NFL. Bryce Young.
- 20:38Speaker 2: Of course. Who else would be happy?
- 20:40Speaker 1: Which I know is on everybody's bingo card before the season.
- 20:43Speaker 1: I know. Absolutely. It's finally starting to get there.
- 20:44Speaker 2: All right. And this is Bond in a long stunt.
- 20:48Speaker 2: I think we talked about the long stunt last week,
- 20:50Speaker 2: but it was.
- 20:51Speaker 1: Yeah, this is a long stunt. And Lawrence thinks he
- 20:55Speaker 1: has room to run. And Bond, you know, because he's
- 20:57Speaker 1: so athletic, is able to. Well, I guess it wasn't called.
- 21:00Speaker 1: It wasn't a sack. He tried to throw it, but
- 21:01Speaker 1: it was incomplete. Right.
- 21:04Speaker 2: He tried to hustle it there, but. I just wanted
- 21:06Speaker 2: these plays to show those creative uses of Vaughn that
- 21:09Speaker 2: you were talking about. This is going to be, I think,
- 21:11Speaker 2: the last Washington touchdown?
- 21:14Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, there's not a lot to say here
- 21:16Speaker 1: other than it was man coverage. And it's basically a
- 21:20Speaker 1: slot fade. And it's not terrible coverage. It's just that
- 21:23Speaker 1: Woolen didn't locate the ball.
- 21:27Speaker 2: Yep.
- 21:27Speaker 1: And it's just a great throw and a great catch.
- 21:30Speaker 1: I mean, there's not much more to say about it.
- 21:32Speaker 2: No, you're right.
- 21:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:34Speaker 2: I love the slot fade. That's one of my favorite
- 21:36Speaker 2: plays in the NFL when you have a guy who
- 21:38Speaker 2: can do that.
- 21:39Speaker 1: Because what they did is they put the tight end
- 21:41Speaker 1: outside of him, and it's man coverage. So I think
- 21:43Speaker 1: it was Vaughn who was out there covering him, and
- 21:46Speaker 1: it was a slot fade. I mean, look, even if
- 21:50Speaker 1: he located the ball, I'm not sure if he could
- 21:53Speaker 1: have played the ball because it's thrown, you know, it's
- 21:56Speaker 1: almost thrown beyond Washington, but he just made a great catch.
- 21:59Speaker 2: Everything in life comes down to choice, doesn't it? Whether
- 22:02Speaker 2: it's choosing the team you root for, who you listen to,
- 22:05Speaker 2: or how you power your home, you deserve the freedom
- 22:08Speaker 2: to choose your own adventure, and that goes for your
- 22:11Speaker 2: power bill too. Right now across the U.S., Americans have
- 22:14Speaker 2: the potential to harness limitless, clean, affordable energy. We could
- 22:18Speaker 2: be powering our hospitals, our schools, our farms, and so
- 22:21Speaker 2: much more. In some places, this abundant local power is
- 22:25Speaker 2: already helping lower utility bills and creating jobs. But depending
- 22:29Speaker 2: on where you live, you may not have the option
- 22:31Speaker 2: to choose Limitless Energy for your household. That has to change.
- 22:35Speaker 2: We should all get to choose the energy we pay for. Cheaper, cleaner,
- 22:40Speaker 2: Limitless Energy is out there. Let's find more ways to
- 22:43Speaker 2: use it. Head over to EnergyLimitless.com to learn more about
- 22:47Speaker 2: your energy options. Hey, Philly fans, game day is stressful enough. Parking, traffic,
- 22:53Speaker 2: long lines, we've all been there. But when it comes
- 22:55Speaker 2: to your cannabis... Camden Apothecary makes it easy. This is

- 23:33Speaker 2: even show love to the community with specials for fans, students,
- 23:38Speaker 2: service members, and healthcare pros. Camden Apothecary, top quality cannabis,
- 23:43Speaker 2: great prices, and an experience made for Philly fans 21
- 23:46Speaker 2: and up. All right. Well, once again, I feel like
- 23:50Speaker 2: we have the same conversation. The Eagles defense plays really well,
- 23:53Speaker 2: have a couple of breakdowns just in the fourth quarter
- 23:55Speaker 2: or bad plays. And then next thing you know, we're
- 23:57Speaker 2: talking about the Eagles losing a game.
- 24:00Speaker 1: One final point, you know, because the offense is not
- 24:03Speaker 1: sustaining drives, the defense has to play too many snaps.
- 24:07Speaker 1: So what happens is, is at some point you're going
- 24:09Speaker 1: to give up plays. It's the NFL. You know, if
- 24:12Speaker 1: you play too many snaps, you know, it just sooner
- 24:16Speaker 1: or later, you know, the other teams are pretty good too.
- 24:19Speaker 1: I mean, you know, the Jaguars are not a bad team,
- 24:21Speaker 1: you know, at some point they're going to make some
- 24:23Speaker 1: plays and cause they gained over 400 yards, which if
- 24:26Speaker 1: you just look at that number, you go, Oh my God,
- 24:28Speaker 1: that's horrible. But you know, they ran, they had the
- 24:30Speaker 1: ball for what? Like 35, 36 minutes, something like that.
- 24:35Speaker 1: It's too much. Yep. Yep. All right.
- 24:38Speaker 2: Well, we'll see if next week we have some different results.
- 24:41Speaker 2: That's going to do it for inside the tape on
- 24:44Speaker 2: inside the birds for Greg Cosell, the very best in
- 24:46Speaker 2: tape breakdown. And Adam Kaplan, I'm Jeff Mosher. We'll catch
- 24:50Speaker 2: you all on the next one.
