- 1:34Speaker 1: I picked Spain to win the World Cup check and
- 1:37Speaker 1: uh lucked out there. My pick was totally on my
- 1:42Speaker 1: favorite wine in the world. We've got Lane Kiffin's sec
- 1:46Speaker 1: Media Days and I had no idea that Lane was
- 1:48Speaker 1: before or Levy's after Lane is a better way to
- 1:52Speaker 1: put it. But I think Jackson told me on Thursday,
- 1:56Speaker 1: it goes Lane and then Levy and then Sark, so
- 2:01Speaker 1: two of the biggest names in college football, and Levy
- 2:05Speaker 1: will be kind of sandwiched in between. According to Jackson,
- 2:10Speaker 1: it's ketchup stained Levy, which our listener's got to kick
- 2:15Speaker 1: out of. And so this will be Levy's third Wow, yeah,
- 2:23Speaker 1: third sec media days. I went to his first, right, yeah.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:31Speaker 1: We went to Dallas and did two shows right from
- 2:33Speaker 1: the bat war Stick. Yes, yes, yes, yes, Worstick That's
- 2:38Speaker 1: what it was. God bless that girl who works at
- 2:41Speaker 1: Worlds Lady who who works at Warstick. They don't get it.
- 2:46Speaker 1: They don't open that early. Okay, they're in the retail,
- 2:48Speaker 1: you know they I think they opened it like ten.
- 2:52Speaker 1: And you know, as much as we're you and I
- 2:56Speaker 1: are high fiving when you get here on time. Yeah,
- 2:59Speaker 1: it was. It kind of hit her like a ton
- 3:02Speaker 1: of bricks to me. I did two shows. I may
- 3:04Speaker 1: have been I think I just did two, not three.
- 3:06Speaker 1: But anyway, the second day, the first day she got
- 3:12Speaker 1: there but it was rough, and the second day I
- 3:16Speaker 1: think she was maybe a little later got there right when,
- 3:19Speaker 1: but it was cool. I got to do the show
- 3:21Speaker 1: in Dallas two years ago from the Batting Cage. So
- 3:25Speaker 1: the way Warstick is laid out the first floor is
- 3:31Speaker 1: you know, you walk in and it's a merch shop,
- 3:35Speaker 1: but they've got all their bats and paddle boards and
- 3:40Speaker 1: pickleball stuff displayed, and they had some cool merch but
- 3:46Speaker 1: and then they then you walk through this room and
- 3:50Speaker 1: it's kind of a bar area that leads into the
- 3:54Speaker 1: batting cage in Dallas for Warstick, which is like a
- 3:58Speaker 1: a not your typical batting I mean, there's nice ones
- 4:02Speaker 1: here too, but this is like really souped up, just
- 4:06Speaker 1: kind of the way it's laid out. Then you go
- 4:08Speaker 1: down the stairs and it's a speakeasy because is it
- 4:12Speaker 1: Jack White, the musician guitarist that's that's partnered with the
- 4:16Speaker 1: Mississippi State alum who owns Warstick, Ben Whatever's name is.
- 4:20Speaker 1: So that it's a it's a cool layout the way
- 4:24Speaker 1: it all. And it's right in the middle of downtown Dallas.
- 4:28Speaker 1: I mean it's right by the famous Terry Blacks or whatever.
- 4:33Speaker 3: I mean.
- 4:33Speaker 1: I say it's right by I think it's pretty close.
- 4:35Speaker 1: I don't I don't necessarily know my I know how
- 4:38Speaker 1: to get in an uber and get somewhere in Dallas, Arlington,
- 4:42Speaker 1: fort Worth. But that was fun. We did that. That
- 4:44Speaker 1: was powered by Pearl River Resort and Patron. Yeah, and
- 4:49Speaker 1: now we're powered by Espalone tequila, so which is absolutely delicious.
- 4:54Speaker 1: But that that was a good time. That was Levy's
- 4:56Speaker 1: first media days. Right should have known then, and Kiffen
- 5:02Speaker 1: was rolling, but he was about to roll more than
- 5:04Speaker 1: we even thought. He kind of go back to two
- 5:08Speaker 1: years ago Dallas, Texas. We were welcoming Oklahoma and Texas
- 5:12Speaker 1: into the league. That's why they dropped it there. It
- 5:15Speaker 1: was a big deal. They did all that that stuff
- 5:18Speaker 1: there in whatever hotel we were in Okay, and it
- 5:23Speaker 1: was a pretty hotel. I didn't stay there, I stayed
- 5:26Speaker 1: near it, but it was a pretty cool space. I mean,
- 5:30Speaker 1: one hundred million times better than the Winfrey in Birmingham,
- 5:34Speaker 1: not that there was anything wrong with that. Starting twenty
- 5:37Speaker 1: years ago, guys, I gotta tell you all this. We
- 5:40Speaker 1: are the Out of Bounds Show. I'm your host, Bo Bounds,
- 5:42Speaker 1: Tom Lougan Bill at eight thirty, that's Jackson Meadows. Dave
- 5:46Speaker 1: bar two will join us tomorrow and Wednesday live on
- 5:49Speaker 1: the show. He's flying in right now. When we started
- 5:53Speaker 1: SEC Media days, and I don't remember the first year
- 5:55Speaker 1: I went, it was either four or five over in Winfrey.
- 5:58Speaker 1: We were plugging our remote equipment into facts outlets. That's
- 6:06Speaker 1: how people did the thing on on radio road. And
- 6:13Speaker 1: it was this was before Finebaum had his own setup,
- 6:15Speaker 1: so he was set up right beside us, so he
- 6:18Speaker 1: was just set up just like everybody else. You just
- 6:20Speaker 1: had your basically a card table or two, and guys
- 6:25Speaker 1: would come up and down this long corridor at the Winfrey,
- 6:30Speaker 1: including as I've mentioned many of times, Tommy Tuberville would
- 6:33Speaker 1: do every and Spurrier when he was at South Carolina.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Tuberville would do whatever radio. You know, it doesn't surprise
- 6:40Speaker 1: any of you that he's a US center or me,
- 6:45Speaker 1: but he was gracious, he enjoyed it. He visited with you.
- 6:50Speaker 1: Spurrier was too. There wasn't a lot of there wasn't
- 6:55Speaker 1: as much star power. Urban would eventually land at Florida,
- 7:01Speaker 1: but it was right before t Bow, in my opinion,
- 7:05Speaker 1: took the league to another level, which actually coincided with
- 7:10Speaker 1: another TV deal and so on. I mean, we were
- 7:13Speaker 1: already on CBS, as y'all know, but just more and
- 7:17Speaker 1: more access and thinks you could just kind of feel
- 7:19Speaker 1: the build in five six and Saban was there but left,
- 7:27Speaker 1: as y'all know for on his hiatus to Miami. So
- 7:32Speaker 1: I guess my first year he was there at LSU,
- 7:36Speaker 1: so I don't know if that was four or five
- 7:38Speaker 1: somewhere in there. Then he leaves for a couple of years,
- 7:40Speaker 1: then he comes back. I do remember the year that
- 7:43Speaker 1: his first year back, and that was in You would
- 7:48Speaker 1: have thought the Beatles were coming to the Winfrey Hotel
- 7:50Speaker 1: in Birmingham, Alabama, just like it was the electricity that
- 7:58Speaker 1: with Tebow. Not every conference, this conference gets rebooted with stars,
- 8:07Speaker 1: and it got rebooted kind of at the same time.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Tibo had already started playing for Florida. But with Saban
- 8:14Speaker 1: coming back and Tebow, you got all the lighter fluid
- 8:19Speaker 1: that you needed to take the conference to another level.
- 8:22Speaker 1: And Saban had already put his model in at LSU
- 8:25Speaker 1: and we all talked about it at lunch and happy
- 8:28Speaker 1: hour and by the grill in our neighborhoods Da Da
- 8:30Speaker 1: da da da Modern day weight strength and conditioning, modern
- 8:34Speaker 1: day recruiting. Da da da da da. But that's what
- 8:37Speaker 1: I remember from my first couple of media days. That's
- 8:39Speaker 1: where I met a bunch of people in the business
- 8:43Speaker 1: and it was fun. It burned off quick, but it
- 8:46Speaker 1: was fun. There was no SEC network. There was really
- 8:50Speaker 1: no Twitter for a while for those first few years.
- 8:52Speaker 1: So it's this morning and all week. You're gonna have
- 8:55Speaker 1: people that just sit there all week who are still
- 8:57Speaker 1: kind of dot com writers. They're just gonna to tweet
- 9:00Speaker 1: out everything that the guys say. That was even before that,
- 9:05Speaker 1: in four, five, six oh seven, you had to pay
- 9:08Speaker 1: attention to what they said. That you actually had to
- 9:09Speaker 1: pay attention, and people were still reading newspapers a little bit,
- 9:14Speaker 1: especially over fifty to fifty five crowd at that point
- 9:17Speaker 1: twenty years ago. I remember being right there on the
- 9:21Speaker 1: elevator with Manziel and someone when Manzell was coming off
- 9:25Speaker 1: the whole scandal, and that was just timing. I was
- 9:28Speaker 1: coming out of my hotel room in the Winfrey. That's
- 9:31Speaker 1: when I figured out you could just move your show
- 9:33Speaker 1: to the hotel room instead of having to do it
- 9:35Speaker 1: on radio road. I got to tell you a booger
- 9:37Speaker 1: McFarland's story at how I met him twenty years ago,
- 9:42Speaker 1: Tom Lougan Bill at eight thirty And that's where I
- 9:44Speaker 1: met Lougan Bill too, at the cool steakhouse across from
- 9:47Speaker 1: the Windfree but I can't remember the name of it.
- 9:49Speaker 4: Back in a second, I was just doing a little exercise,
- 10:21Speaker 4: just wasting time as I normally do, thinking weird stuff.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Good morning to you. What's up? What's up? Out of bounds?
- 10:28Speaker 1: One oh five nine The Zone, ESPN. Did anybody get
- 10:32Speaker 1: into the golf Twitter war over the weekend? Uh Rory
- 10:36Speaker 1: Michael Roy against uh Byron d Chambeau. Did that move
- 10:45Speaker 1: the needle for you at all? I can tell you
- 10:47Speaker 1: want to talk, Okay, I didn't. Jackson's like, move on,
- 10:50Speaker 1: We'll go into football. This is ESPN one oh five nine,
- 10:53Speaker 1: The Zone, Lane Kiff and the SEC media Days uh
- 10:57Speaker 1: starts this morning. We're going to find out if will
- 10:59Speaker 1: Stein is a real person. And according to the press release,
- 11:04Speaker 1: he's the new head football coach for the University of Kentucky.
- 11:07Speaker 1: And you know, I give that. I'm giving him a
- 11:11Speaker 1: hard time, but it's the best road trip in the SEC.
- 11:15Speaker 1: It is bourbon and horses along with the fall weekend.
- 11:19Speaker 1: I've said it for the last however long thirteen fourteen
- 11:22Speaker 1: years ago. You know we've been up there a few
- 11:26Speaker 1: times and well several times. It's great. There's nothing like
- 11:32Speaker 1: being there. And you know I say it all the time.
- 11:34Speaker 1: If Keenland is open in October April, I think there's
- 11:36Speaker 1: another weekend or two, say bleed somewhere before or after.
- 11:42Speaker 1: But if you're up there and Keenland is open, like
- 11:47Speaker 1: your wife would love it too. I mean, Keenland's Kentucky
- 11:50Speaker 1: is a well, it could be the best culinary town
- 11:52Speaker 1: in the SEC. But actually it's got to give. It's
- 11:56Speaker 1: got to be tied for number one. But if Keenland
- 12:02Speaker 1: is open in the fall, when you go and you're
- 12:05Speaker 1: gonna do a little bourbon tour, hit a distillery, it's amazing.
- 12:09Speaker 1: The food in Lexington's great. And if you catch a
- 12:11Speaker 1: basketball scrimmage. I actually went to one. I know y'all
- 12:15Speaker 1: can't believe it. I didn't stay the whole time, but
- 12:18Speaker 1: they thought we needed to go on that Friday night,
- 12:20Speaker 1: so we did. They actually charged and it was packed.
- 12:23Speaker 1: I think it was twenty bucks. I think so twenty
- 12:28Speaker 1: dollars for a blue and white scrimmage in October or
- 12:31Speaker 1: something that's Kentucky basketball. But anyway, it's worth spending the night.
- 12:37Speaker 1: It's or two or three. It's a fun time, absolutely
- 12:42Speaker 1: beautiful part of the country. The people are nice and
- 12:46Speaker 1: it's my favorite. Yeah. I mean, bourbon and horses. You
- 12:51Speaker 1: can't beat it. I did not realize Keenland was as
- 12:55Speaker 1: cool as it was until the Bourbon guys took me.
- 12:58Speaker 1: They actually tailgate on Friday, uh when when they're the
- 13:04Speaker 1: when the horses are racing, and they do it up.
- 13:08Speaker 1: I mean there's attractive people and they're having they they've
- 13:13Speaker 1: got a cool spread outside the little Keenland Stadium. It's
- 13:17Speaker 1: gorgeous too. Driving in, it's absolutely beautiful and it's super
- 13:22Speaker 1: inexpensive to go. A regular ticket at Keenland was ten
- 13:27Speaker 1: bucks and to get the premium was twenty. I'd go
- 13:30Speaker 1: ahead and get the premium. And I've told you this
- 13:33Speaker 1: they had they have you know, they have bourbon bars
- 13:39Speaker 1: and and and bourbon uh uh bread pudding bars.
- 13:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:47Speaker 1: Because Greg Byrne texted me the first time I ever
- 13:50Speaker 1: when I was going back and forth with him because
- 13:53Speaker 1: we mentioned earlier that Mitch Barnhardt made his last big
- 13:56Speaker 1: hire and we believed will Stein as they had coach
- 14:00Speaker 1: of Kentucky, will Greg Burn, Scott Strickland and John Cohen
- 14:03Speaker 1: as y'all know, all worked under Mitch Barnhart and they're
- 14:06Speaker 1: all thicke as thieves, and so until Mitch stepped down,
- 14:12Speaker 1: I guess this summer all four of them were sec
- 14:16Speaker 1: ads at the same time, Kentucky, Bama, Auburn and Florida.
- 14:20Speaker 1: But my point in all that was Burn was like,
- 14:22Speaker 1: you've got to get the bread pudding when you go
- 14:25Speaker 1: to Keenland. So if you get to go, it's fun.
- 14:28Speaker 1: I didn't ride horse racing was like that fun. It's
- 14:32Speaker 1: super fun. And I've said this before too. It's manicured
- 14:36Speaker 1: like Augusta National, like Churchill Downs is in the middle
- 14:40Speaker 1: of the city. It's all concrete. Keenland is gorgeous, the
- 14:46Speaker 1: grounds and everything. There's not a It's like when you
- 14:50Speaker 1: go to August there's not a blade of grass out
- 14:53Speaker 1: of place. It's perfect, and you can go all the
- 14:57Speaker 1: way down to the horses. You can go up in
- 14:59Speaker 1: the club level. It's cool and if you know anybody,
- 15:03Speaker 1: if you're connected it all up there, then you'll end
- 15:07Speaker 1: up in a box or club or whatever. They've got
- 15:09Speaker 1: up there, so it's pretty cool. That's that's my take
- 15:14Speaker 1: on your next road trip in the Bourbon and Horse Country,
- 15:17Speaker 1: brought to you by the Kentucky Bobcats. And you got
- 15:20Speaker 1: to go to Tony's or Frankendino's or Italics or Jeff
- 15:25Speaker 1: Ruby's are all four. I've been to all of them.
- 15:27Speaker 1: They are fabulous. There's many other good restaurants here too.
- 15:32Speaker 1: All right, Tom Lougan Bill coming up next? What do
- 15:36Speaker 1: you think about that? Rant? I liked it, okay, because
- 15:39Speaker 1: I love when people share. Somebody earlier shared that they've
- 15:43Speaker 1: recently had the onion rings from Burger's Blues Barbecue, Dogwood Flowood.
- 15:46Speaker 1: I want people to tell us when they've been somewhere
- 15:50Speaker 1: cool and what they've had to eat or dine on.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Go ahead, I got a little My eye got caught
- 15:56Speaker 2: by Mangum. What happened Lord?
- 16:00Speaker 1: Yesterday?
- 16:01Speaker 2: He decided he was going to throw a guy out
- 16:04Speaker 2: from deep Okay, Well, you know little blooper over the
- 16:06Speaker 2: third base head. So he's he's making room. Now he's
- 16:09Speaker 2: over and left, he's speeding. He's flying down there to
- 16:12Speaker 2: get this ball to line. I love it like they
- 16:14Speaker 2: had a little shift on and he guns it the
- 16:16Speaker 2: second and boom. He's called safe.
- 16:20Speaker 3: Jake wasn't happy.
- 16:21Speaker 2: Oh so he comes over there and he's hooting and
- 16:23Speaker 2: Holland to go to the booth.
- 16:26Speaker 1: Did he win it? They won the overturn? He won
- 16:28Speaker 1: the challenge down beautiful, that's the challenge. I love the
- 16:34Speaker 1: place of Erupts And he's, oh man, this is awesome.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Room good and they're hot. That was brought to you
- 16:39Speaker 1: by Farm Bureau Insurance Bundle. You're auto and home and
- 16:42Speaker 1: save with your local Farm Bureau Insurance agent. Go with
- 16:46Speaker 1: the home team, as Jake Mangham leads that rally for
- 16:50Speaker 1: both Farm Bureau and for the Pittsburgh Pirates. So he
- 16:53Speaker 1: gotten that dude down there hot. I missed that over
- 16:55Speaker 1: the weekend. I was not as dilled in other than
- 16:59Speaker 1: I want some of the Open Championship. And I did
- 17:02Speaker 1: watch Rory Uh make a blank of himself and then
- 17:06Speaker 1: the whole d Chambeau crazy. It was kind of SEC
- 17:09Speaker 1: football like that, you know, because we there are teams
- 17:13Speaker 1: and coaches and that get mixed up between each other
- 17:16Speaker 1: at times, as we all know, like Ole Miss and Kevin,
- 17:21Speaker 1: which I think is probably gonna get heated up again
- 17:23Speaker 1: this week. When did you tell me, dear camp, Pete
- 17:26Speaker 1: is rolling on the stage, will be there on Tuesday Thursday.
- 17:33Speaker 2: Nope, Wensdy, He's a sandwich between some roll and elcod
- 17:38Speaker 2: boor some raw golden Gilko.
- 17:42Speaker 1: That's a pretty that's a pretty damn good group. That's
- 17:45Speaker 1: a good day. Yeah, I mean de Boor is a
- 17:47Speaker 1: good coach. But shout out to the schedulers right here.
- 17:50Speaker 1: Some are as a good coach. We don't know about
- 17:52Speaker 1: Pete and Elco's done a good job. Oh yeah, you know.
- 18:00Speaker 1: A and M is A and M playoff team. They
- 18:03Speaker 1: did go. They got beat at home by Miami. But
- 18:07Speaker 1: it's a tough That was a tough road game.
- 18:10Speaker 3: Wasn't that.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Wasn't that at A and M. That wasn't at Miami,
- 18:14Speaker 1: was it? I'm pretty sure A and M they lose
- 18:18Speaker 1: at home. I'm pretty sure A and M lost at
- 18:21Speaker 1: home like Oklahoma. But would you double check that? Okay,
- 18:26Speaker 1: okay out, Yeah it's still at home.
- 18:31Speaker 3: You shouldn't mean.
- 18:32Speaker 1: I can't remember if their OC had already left or
- 18:34Speaker 1: if he stayed over for the college football playoff. Colin
- 18:39Speaker 1: Klein or some name, the former quarterback at Kansas State
- 18:43Speaker 1: was there, but then he left A and M to
- 18:46Speaker 1: go connect those dots. He is currently the head coach
- 18:51Speaker 1: at Kansas because he was a good little quarterback. He's
- 18:55Speaker 1: real good quarterback. I forgot about the guy.
- 19:02Speaker 2: Yeah, oh yeah, he's young, he's thirty six, but he's
- 19:05Speaker 2: he definitely played on the Snyder Okay, all right, I
- 19:08Speaker 2: had to.
- 19:09Speaker 1: I had to connect those dots. On another note, speaking
- 19:16Speaker 1: of famous people, we're talking about SEC coaches, some famous
- 19:20Speaker 1: some night. Mick Jagger says, fame this is disassociates a
- 19:25Speaker 1: person from ordinary, ordinary light. I can't believe that I
- 19:31Speaker 1: had no idea revolutionary. Thank you, Mick, appreciate it.
- 19:35Speaker 3: Budd.
- 19:35Speaker 1: We are the Out of Bound Show, Tom lougan Bill,
- 19:37Speaker 1: National college football analysts with the ESPN. Coming up next
- 19:41Speaker 1: on the Farm Bureau Insurance guest Line. Why is there air.
- 20:14Speaker 5: Here?
- 20:14Speaker 1: We go? Good morning, Welcome into the Ata Bounds Show,
- 20:18Speaker 1: ESPN one oh five nine to zone. We welcome in
- 20:21Speaker 1: our friend, Tom lougan Bill, National college football analysts with ESPN.
- 20:27Speaker 1: He was at SEC Media Days last week. We get
- 20:31Speaker 1: I said, acc ACC Media Days last week, SEC Media
- 20:35Speaker 1: Days This week. Lukes joins us on the Farm Bureau
- 20:38Speaker 1: Insurance guest line and the show is driven by your
- 20:41Speaker 1: next GMC Yukon or GMC Sierra truck at Fowler Fowler,
- 20:46Speaker 1: GMC Pearl, Brandon, Tom Lougan, Bill, good morning, how are you?
- 20:50Speaker 3: Good morning to you. But I'm doing good. How are you?
- 20:52Speaker 1: We're good, Bud, Thanks for hanging out with us. So
- 20:57Speaker 1: let's start with the most pressure to deliver in twenty
- 21:02Speaker 1: twenty six. You'll love this. This is great summertime topic.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Most pressure to deliver in twenty twenty six. Kiffin Smart
- 21:14Speaker 1: or Sart Luke's.
- 21:16Speaker 3: Oh, Kiffin, without question.
- 21:21Speaker 5: I mean they they've almost set themselves up for a
- 21:25Speaker 5: nowhere to go but down scenario. When you consider the
- 21:28Speaker 5: pressure and the expectations, the resources that have been allotted,
- 21:32Speaker 5: the money that has already been spent, the ballet hood,
- 21:36Speaker 5: recruiting class, transfer portal class, all of it. I mean,
- 21:40Speaker 5: this isn't This isn't like taking the old miss job
- 21:42Speaker 5: and that you get to a nine win season and
- 21:44Speaker 5: they are going to build a statue of you outside
- 21:47Speaker 5: of the stadium. This is a college football playoff top
- 21:52Speaker 5: four or five seed. We expect it right now type
- 21:57Speaker 5: of expectation and are unfair they've created this, and that's
- 22:03Speaker 5: fine because that's the nature of the business. You know,
- 22:07Speaker 5: Stark's gonna have a great football team. I think Kirby's
- 22:09Speaker 5: gonna have a great football team. But right now, this
- 22:13Speaker 5: is about Lane establishing LSU as a national title contender
- 22:18Speaker 5: right out of the gate and a tough September schedule
- 22:22Speaker 5: for Lane with Clemson and Ole miss and A and
- 22:26Speaker 5: m So. Tom Lougan Bill on the at of bound
- 22:29Speaker 5: show which roster would you take today? Texas, Georgia, LSU, Lukes.
- 22:35Speaker 3: Uh Texas and Georgia over LSU's roster. The reason why
- 22:40Speaker 3: I say that is.
- 22:42Speaker 5: There are more returning, verifiable, proven players on Texas and
- 22:50Speaker 5: Georgia in relationship to guys that have played and been
- 22:53Speaker 5: within the program. Right So when you look at Georgia
- 22:56Speaker 5: and Notre Dames. Actually in this conversation too, you look
- 22:59Speaker 5: at Georgia and you look at Texas and you say, okay,
- 23:02Speaker 5: we're the established foundation.
- 23:04Speaker 3: It's clearly on the high school side.
- 23:06Speaker 5: Have they for the most part, you're not going to
- 23:08Speaker 5: be able to do it with everybody, but have they
- 23:09Speaker 5: developed and retained at the high school level, Yes, and
- 23:13Speaker 5: then they supplement and they sprinkle in transfer portal additions.
- 23:17Speaker 5: More than likely, upperclassman guys are going to bring experience,
- 23:20Speaker 5: they're going to bring age, they're going to bring maturity,
- 23:23Speaker 5: and right now, from an established standpoint, I think you'd
- 23:27Speaker 5: have to take Texas or Georgia.
- 23:28Speaker 1: Okay, But having said all that, LSU's you know, they're
- 23:34Speaker 1: not far off.
- 23:36Speaker 5: No, And I think LSU has got a high ceiling. Okay, Okay,
- 23:40Speaker 5: But and I've said this to you multiple times on
- 23:44Speaker 5: your program, if Sam Levitt doesn't perform, and more importantly,
- 23:49Speaker 5: doesn't stay healthy, then they're likely going to be, you know,
- 23:53Speaker 5: jumping too a youngster if that were to happen, and
- 23:56Speaker 5: it's happened a lot with him, right the previous two
- 23:59Speaker 5: years at Arizona State. A lot of the hype let's
- 24:01Speaker 5: not forget a lot of the hype on him was
- 24:04Speaker 5: based off of that twenty twenty four season, right, and
- 24:08Speaker 5: not much other of a sample size to warrant that hype.
- 24:12Speaker 3: So he's gonna have to come through big for them.
- 24:15Speaker 1: Yeah, So eight and four, eight and four will just
- 24:20Speaker 1: be a big time disappointment. And you can't get in
- 24:25Speaker 1: at nine and three. I don't with the twelve until
- 24:27Speaker 1: we go to sixteen, twenty or twenty four Lukes, which
- 24:30Speaker 1: is happening, but we just don't know which number. I
- 24:34Speaker 1: think a bunch of SEC teams and Big ten teams
- 24:37Speaker 1: will go at nine and three eventually. But this is
- 24:41Speaker 1: going to be a year where Sankie thought we would
- 24:44Speaker 1: have expanded by now. They couldn't get on the same page,
- 24:47Speaker 1: as you know, But they went ahead and added the
- 24:49Speaker 1: ninth conference game, So we could have a big cluster
- 24:53Speaker 1: of nine and three teams that are on the outside
- 24:56Speaker 1: looking in, even though that could be a good year
- 24:59Speaker 1: in that of.
- 25:00Speaker 5: Course, but you could have that out of conference. You
- 25:03Speaker 5: could have that out of the out of the acc too.
- 25:05Speaker 5: What I mean, what if Miami's right there in it again? Uh,
- 25:09Speaker 5: Clemson's in a position right now or for the first
- 25:11Speaker 5: time in what fifteen years? Nobody's talking about them. Yeah,
- 25:15Speaker 5: like they're lying in the weeds.
- 25:19Speaker 3: To me.
- 25:20Speaker 5: You got Louisville, You've got SMU sitting there. There could
- 25:22Speaker 5: be a bunch of teams sitting there at ten and two,
- 25:23Speaker 5: nine and three out of all of the conferences, right
- 25:26Speaker 5: and and and then what do you do?
- 25:28Speaker 3: What?
- 25:29Speaker 5: What you got to make sure we don't do is
- 25:31Speaker 5: go down last year's path, and the ACC created that.
- 25:34Speaker 5: But to leave teams like BYU Texas, even Vanderbilt, Notre
- 25:39Speaker 5: Dame and Notre Dame at home in favor of James
- 25:43Speaker 5: Madison in Tulane is absolutely laughable because that's the difference.
- 25:48Speaker 5: And I think I said this to you too, Boa.
- 25:50Speaker 5: Nobody wants to talk about Cinderella's and you know those
- 25:53Speaker 5: long shots and you want to root from and this
- 25:55Speaker 5: and that. Well, the difference between the basketball tournament and
- 26:00Speaker 5: the football college football Playoff is basketball doesn't leave the
- 26:05Speaker 5: blue blood established program sitting at home to left the
- 26:08Speaker 5: Cinderella in right, right, We just left those guys at home,
- 26:13Speaker 5: and they want to call it the twelve best teams
- 26:15Speaker 5: in college football.
- 26:16Speaker 3: Give me a brink.
- 26:17Speaker 1: Come on, that's a good point on Notre Dame in
- 26:21Speaker 1: Texas and to a certain extent, Bandy going ten and
- 26:23Speaker 1: two sure and getting sure and getting left out. Tom
- 26:27Speaker 1: Logan Bill on the out of Bounds show driven by
- 26:29Speaker 1: your next GMC Sierra Truck at Fowler GMC, you mentioned
- 26:34Speaker 1: Notre Dame and you're heavily you know you started it
- 26:40Speaker 1: quarterback at Georgia Tech. You covered the ACC forever now
- 26:43Speaker 1: you're heavily involved in the ACC. They're tied in with
- 26:48Speaker 1: their four or five games a year. But have you
- 26:51Speaker 1: ever in modern era Luke's looked at a schedule that
- 26:54Speaker 1: lines up this way considered considering what Marcus Freeman and
- 27:00Speaker 1: Notre Dame or bringing back.
- 27:02Speaker 3: No.
- 27:03Speaker 5: I mean, it's you know what it is. It's the
- 27:05Speaker 5: perfect recipe for a national title run. It's also the
- 27:08Speaker 5: perfect recipe for disaster.
- 27:10Speaker 3: Yeah. Right, it's a double edged sword.
- 27:13Speaker 5: And you know when you look, go look at Notre
- 27:16Speaker 5: Dame and the job that they've done in terms of
- 27:18Speaker 5: development and retention. They've got a potential top five pick
- 27:22Speaker 5: at quarterback. They've got two young, outstanding offensive tackles on
- 27:26Speaker 5: both sides. The biggest thing for me about Notre Dame
- 27:28Speaker 5: is they're gonna have to come up with a way
- 27:29Speaker 5: of generating pass rush. You know, that was something that
- 27:32Speaker 5: was lacking a year ago. I think they've got to
- 27:34Speaker 5: increase the output there, create more negative plays in the backfield,
- 27:38Speaker 5: get people in second and third and long on a
- 27:40Speaker 5: more consistent basis. But everything else is there, man. I mean,
- 27:44Speaker 5: they are established, and they've got the schedule where outside
- 27:48Speaker 5: of probably the Miami Contest, it's not even close in
- 27:53Speaker 5: terms of roster profile comparison with Notre Dame and whoever
- 27:56Speaker 5: else they're playing.
- 27:58Speaker 1: And I think that game in South Bend, it is yeah, beautiful, incredible,
- 28:07Speaker 1: And so I mean, we we all have them in
- 28:10Speaker 1: the They could, they could screw it up, but we
- 28:12Speaker 1: all have them in the College Football Playoff. With their scheduling, talent.
- 28:15Speaker 5: Yeah, if they're in the top twelve, it doesn't matter
- 28:17Speaker 5: what they do. They're in right right And if that
- 28:20Speaker 5: roster and that team with that schedule isn't in the
- 28:23Speaker 5: top twelve, then they've had a twenty five Clemson collapse.
- 28:28Speaker 1: Yeah, right out of bounds ESPN one oh five nine
- 28:33Speaker 1: to the zone you mentioned Texas, I'm not sure. I
- 28:37Speaker 1: know they have the talent. We all know that, But
- 28:40Speaker 1: I don't know if I'm buying so Kaikowski to me
- 28:44Speaker 1: like premiere, big time defensive coordinator. Musch Champs like good,
- 28:48Speaker 1: but he's in the B level. I think Kaikowski's in
- 28:51Speaker 1: the A level.
- 28:52Speaker 3: Oh, I don't. I don't know if I agree with that.
- 28:54Speaker 5: I think there's been there's I think there's been plenty
- 28:56Speaker 5: of proof that Will musch Champ is a core nator
- 29:00Speaker 5: is at the elite level. Now, we all know you
- 29:04Speaker 5: got to have players, right, You got to have really
- 29:06Speaker 5: really good players, and really really good players make you
- 29:09Speaker 5: a really really good coach.
- 29:11Speaker 3: Sure, and Texas is going to have that.
- 29:14Speaker 5: You know it'll be. Now, it might look a little different.
- 29:16Speaker 5: They might be a little bit different schematically and things
- 29:19Speaker 5: of that nature. But understand too that it's all coming
- 29:23Speaker 5: off of the of the same tree and start coached
- 29:26Speaker 5: under that tree. Like he knows exactly what they are
- 29:29Speaker 5: getting scheme wise on defense, he knows exactly how it's
- 29:31Speaker 5: going to be implemented. He knows what the challenges are
- 29:34Speaker 5: playing against that defense. So whether it's Mush Champ, Pete Golding,
- 29:40Speaker 5: Kirby Smart, whoever it is, you know that you want
- 29:43Speaker 5: to look at and say, Okay, you know we know
- 29:46Speaker 5: the sab And tree, we know what the scheme is.
- 29:48Speaker 3: It's tried and true.
- 29:50Speaker 5: You add great players to it, they're going to be
- 29:51Speaker 5: a formidable group.
- 29:53Speaker 1: Tom Loganville, national college football analyst with the ESPN on
- 29:57Speaker 1: the add of bounds ship, I want to go old
- 30:00Speaker 1: miss Kiffin is has established himself. Is it fair to
- 30:03Speaker 1: say Kiffin's established himself the last six years as a
- 30:06Speaker 1: top ten play caller.
- 30:08Speaker 3: Oh, absolutely agree.
- 30:10Speaker 5: I would actually go back to even he is a
- 30:14Speaker 5: younger coach, gnashing his teeth and being able to develop
- 30:19Speaker 5: as a play caller and a you know, an overseer
- 30:22Speaker 5: of the offense, going back to him working under Norm
- 30:25Speaker 5: chowd sc in some of those sc offenses and then
- 30:28Speaker 5: obviously it became his turn and eventually it became Sark's turn.
- 30:33Speaker 5: But yeah, I think where he's done a really good
- 30:36Speaker 5: job is he's evolved with the game right. He's added wrinkles,
- 30:41Speaker 5: he's eliminated things, he's tweaked, he's became you know, they
- 30:45Speaker 5: they weren't a tempo team at USC. They weren't let's
- 30:48Speaker 5: go as fast as we can team at USC. He's
- 30:50Speaker 5: found some positives in that, so he's implemented it. I
- 30:53Speaker 5: think the evolution of him not just as a play caller,
- 30:57Speaker 5: but to enhance the play call by enhancing the approach.
- 31:01Speaker 3: And he's done.
- 31:03Speaker 1: Okay, Now, Trinidad Chambliss and Keewan Lacy have a new
- 31:10Speaker 1: play caller who has two years of offensive coordinator experience
- 31:14Speaker 1: under his bell in East Carolina and John David Baker
- 31:18Speaker 1: and John David Baker said Yeah, it's gonna be a
- 31:21Speaker 1: lot of the same, but some different and different terminology.
- 31:24Speaker 1: So you started at quarterback at Georgia Tech. What I know,
- 31:28Speaker 1: Trinidad and Lacy are going to know the offense and
- 31:30Speaker 1: so on, But what does that entail walk us through?
- 31:35Speaker 1: There will be some tweaks and different terminology for this
- 31:39Speaker 1: ole Miss offense.
- 31:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:41Speaker 5: I think what you got to do is if you
- 31:42Speaker 5: sat there and you put it on paper, right, and
- 31:44Speaker 5: you drew out the concepts and this and that, all right,
- 31:47Speaker 5: It just may mean that instead of calling it a slants,
- 31:50Speaker 5: we call it a glance, all right. Instead of a slant,
- 31:53Speaker 5: we called a glance, all right. And instead of a dig,
- 31:57Speaker 5: we called it over you know, whatever it may be.
- 32:00Speaker 5: Instead of a comeback, we called a cob. But you're
- 32:03Speaker 5: just talking about interchangeable words. But if you visualize it
- 32:06Speaker 5: and looked at it, and let's just say you took
- 32:09Speaker 5: a play because John David Baker's offenses essentially, I mean
- 32:12Speaker 5: it's rooted in old Missus principles. He's coached there before.
- 32:16Speaker 5: And you drew it and you said, okay, what does
- 32:19Speaker 5: this play to you? To a player that played at
- 32:22Speaker 5: ole Miss a year ago? And they look at it,
- 32:23Speaker 5: they know exactly what it is. Well, so the play
- 32:26Speaker 5: is not changing, just what you're calling it maybe shifting
- 32:29Speaker 5: a little bit. Now, that's where your off season comes in, right,
- 32:33Speaker 5: That's where you work in January, February, March, and you
- 32:37Speaker 5: head into spring football. And if you can't come out
- 32:40Speaker 5: of spring football adjusting to terminology, you're not a very
- 32:44Speaker 5: smart football player. And dumb players lose games. So there's
- 32:48Speaker 5: going to be very there's going to be very little
- 32:50Speaker 5: tolerance to not be able to know what the foundation
- 32:54Speaker 5: of the offense is when you see it, but not
- 32:56Speaker 5: be able to adjust because you change a couple of
- 32:58Speaker 5: things here and there. You tag something or you call
- 33:00Speaker 5: protection something instead of a protection being a name, that's
- 33:03Speaker 5: now a number. Okay, well we got to be able
- 33:05Speaker 5: to adjust to that. The good part about all of
- 33:07Speaker 5: this is by eliminating the second transfer portal period from
- 33:12Speaker 5: the time that player has arrived either through high school
- 33:14Speaker 5: recruiting in December or the transfer portal you know, in
- 33:18Speaker 5: January one, spring football ended. They're not going anywhere. They're there,
- 33:23Speaker 5: so you're not having it. Let's just say take a
- 33:25Speaker 5: second group of transfer portal guys that previously would have
- 33:29Speaker 5: come in after spring football and now integrate them heading
- 33:33Speaker 5: into fall camp, that's already been done.
- 33:36Speaker 3: So by the time anybody, whether it's terminology.
- 33:38Speaker 5: Even if you even if you flip the scheme, even
- 33:40Speaker 5: if you brought in an offer as the coordinator that
- 33:42Speaker 5: was gonna, you know, run a different style of offense,
- 33:46Speaker 5: there's there's gonna be very little tolerance and very little
- 33:49Speaker 5: excuses for, especially at the quarterback position, but everybody else
- 33:53Speaker 5: as well, to not be dialed in on what you're
- 33:56Speaker 5: gonna do.
- 33:57Speaker 1: It looks like John David Paker throws the ball all
- 34:01Speaker 1: a good bit more than Kiffin. Kiffin's been somehow we
- 34:04Speaker 1: painted him Kiffin is a pass happy offense because we
- 34:07Speaker 1: see all the explosive plays, guys running wide open. But
- 34:10Speaker 1: as you know, Lane loves to run the football. Not
- 34:14Speaker 1: that John David Baker won't, but he he skews on
- 34:17Speaker 1: the kind of the big twelve, twenty ten, twenty eleven
- 34:21Speaker 1: throw it more. From what I gather, Yeah, you.
- 34:24Speaker 5: Know, I actually I had East Carolina three times last year,
- 34:26Speaker 5: so it became very familiar with them on Thursday night football,
- 34:30Speaker 5: and so I think they want to run it more.
- 34:34Speaker 5: But here's the thing that's, you know, interesting, we forget
- 34:36Speaker 5: about this either folks don't know it or they don't
- 34:39Speaker 5: realize it's happening, because it's not it's tough to see
- 34:41Speaker 5: if you don't know what you're watching. But oftentimes things
- 34:44Speaker 5: that materialize in the passing game were called runs in
- 34:48Speaker 5: the huddle, right, And so what's happening is is it's
- 34:53Speaker 5: really simple math. And that is when you get into
- 34:57Speaker 5: that line of scrimmage play and you've either got two
- 35:01Speaker 5: plays called in one or you're gonna have a check
- 35:03Speaker 5: out of it based off of what the look is.
- 35:05Speaker 5: The quarterbacks count numbers, right, and so we may say, hey,
- 35:09Speaker 5: we want to run it here, we want to establish
- 35:10Speaker 5: this here, but oh boy, they've got seven in the
- 35:14Speaker 5: box and we've only got five or six to block them. Well,
- 35:16Speaker 5: that's not smart football, right, So we got to get
- 35:18Speaker 5: out of that. And if you're going to load the box,
- 35:21Speaker 5: we want to have one on one opportunities and you're
- 35:23Speaker 5: gonna throw the football. Conversely, the exact opposite happens as well.
- 35:26Speaker 5: You may come into a situation where you've got second
- 35:30Speaker 5: and eight and you've got a pass play called and
- 35:34Speaker 5: they're in too high and got five people in the box.
- 35:37Speaker 3: Well, you're going to check.
- 35:37Speaker 5: Her run, right, because now you have the numbers advantage,
- 35:41Speaker 5: and you're going to try to get five six yards
- 35:44Speaker 5: of that and get yourself in second in short, which
- 35:46Speaker 5: is third and short, which is what everybody wants to
- 35:48Speaker 5: be in.
- 35:48Speaker 3: So it's not necessarily rocket science. It's numbers.
- 35:53Speaker 1: And you have a veteran quarterback who proved he was
- 35:56Speaker 1: arguably the best decision maker in the country. Yeah, you can, Trinidad.
- 36:00Speaker 5: He can get you in and out of those things, right,
- 36:02Speaker 5: he knows he knows pre snap. Okay, this is what
- 36:05Speaker 5: we ultimately want to be in. We don't want to
- 36:07Speaker 5: run this versus this look. We'd ideally love him to
- 36:10Speaker 5: be in this look if we're going to attack them
- 36:12Speaker 5: with this. Oh wait, that they're not in that look either,
- 36:14Speaker 5: Let's go to something else and understand too, Like at
- 36:18Speaker 5: the speed and rate that they're going, how fast that
- 36:20Speaker 5: stuff has to happen? Right, And because it's not just
- 36:23Speaker 5: the pre snap recognition in the diagnosis, once the ball snap,
- 36:29Speaker 5: you've got to produce a positive result. And with offenses
- 36:31Speaker 5: like that, they're having to make those determinations anywhere between
- 36:34Speaker 5: eleven and fourteen seconds.
- 36:37Speaker 1: Let's go to Jeff Levy who's on the hot seat
- 36:43Speaker 1: and has to win this year, and he has a
- 36:46Speaker 1: true sophomore quarterback and I always reference Dak and Eli
- 36:54Speaker 1: who back then didn't start until the red shirt sophomore
- 36:57Speaker 1: years here and they're both phenomenal okay around forever all that,
- 37:03Speaker 1: So his job is right, you know, is on the
- 37:05Speaker 1: line with a true sophomore QB who's six foot four,
- 37:09Speaker 1: two thirty. You know he can run around, probably not
- 37:14Speaker 1: a refined passer, yet you played quarterback at the Power
- 37:18Speaker 1: four level knowing that you've got to win X amount
- 37:21Speaker 1: of games. What would be your I mean, what would
- 37:27Speaker 1: be to your approach this year with a true sophomore
- 37:29Speaker 1: that played a little bit last year, knowing that he's
- 37:32Speaker 1: going to have to carry you over the finish line,
- 37:34Speaker 1: so to speak.
- 37:35Speaker 3: Lukes, Well, I think.
- 37:36Speaker 5: That's where the off season coaching component comes into play.
- 37:41Speaker 5: As you mentioned, you've got a small sample size, there's
- 37:43Speaker 5: tape to be to be watched, and then you're you're
- 37:47Speaker 5: continuing to develop this player's theory of the game knowledge.
- 37:51Speaker 5: It's not necessarily how big he is, how tall he is,
- 37:53Speaker 5: it's what can he handle, what can he process, what
- 37:55Speaker 5: can he do right? And you're going to test that out.
- 37:58Speaker 5: That's the spring football's for you. You're going to put
- 38:00Speaker 5: him in situations to see what he does. You're going
- 38:02Speaker 5: to maybe try to trick him into a situation to
- 38:04Speaker 5: see if he recognizes it and gets out of it
- 38:08Speaker 5: or moves into something. You're going to want to really
- 38:11Speaker 5: upgrade that player's knowledge of past protections and how to
- 38:14Speaker 5: protect himself and get the team into the right call.
- 38:19Speaker 5: So I think so much of the development and an
- 38:21Speaker 5: off season between a freshman and sophomore year is really
- 38:25Speaker 5: advancing that player's knowledge of the game so that they
- 38:29Speaker 5: can think fast and they can play comfortable. Now does
- 38:32Speaker 5: that mean that you ask them to do something that
- 38:35Speaker 5: maybe they're not comfortable with or they don't have confidence in.
- 38:38Speaker 5: Absolutely not. But that's what you're trying to find out, right.
- 38:41Speaker 5: Because we can talk all we want about scheme and
- 38:44Speaker 5: systems and this and that. The great systems are the
- 38:46Speaker 5: systems that revolve around a player's strengths and then do
- 38:50Speaker 5: everything they can to mask weaknesses.
- 38:52Speaker 3: So you're trying to figure out what that is. Right,
- 38:54Speaker 3: You're trying to say, okay, you.
- 38:56Speaker 5: Know with with somebody like, I don't know anybody.
- 39:00Speaker 3: They would have had it.
- 39:03Speaker 5: At Oklahoma under Jeff Levy, guys that had Dylan well yeah, yeah, Okay,
- 39:08Speaker 5: let's take Dylan Gabriel for example. Okay, they may do
- 39:11Speaker 5: things in the offense with Dylan Gabriel that they're not
- 39:14Speaker 5: gonna do with Kamaro Taylor, right, And maybe it's not
- 39:18Speaker 5: because he's not capable of doing it, but maybe it's
- 39:20Speaker 5: because he's not capable of doing it yet. Or you're
- 39:23Speaker 5: gonna implement some things that Kamaro Taylor does really, really
- 39:27Speaker 5: well that you wouldn't have done with Dylan Gabriel.
- 39:30Speaker 3: And whether that's moving the pocket.
- 39:32Speaker 5: Changing the launch point, putting in him in a position
- 39:34Speaker 5: to always be able to run in case things don't
- 39:37Speaker 5: happen and he doesn't get through the progression, but aboording
- 39:40Speaker 5: a negative play and doing so. You got to find
- 39:42Speaker 5: those things out and then you build the day offense
- 39:45Speaker 5: around that, right, because you don't want to stick a
- 39:47Speaker 5: square peg in a round hole, you know, like the
- 39:49Speaker 5: old days, it used to be, well, you know, we're
- 39:52Speaker 5: going to put this guy into the West Coast offense,
- 39:54Speaker 5: or this guy's gonna be right in the in the
- 39:56Speaker 5: multiple pro style, and this is who we are and
- 39:58Speaker 5: this is what we're gonna do, and that player has
- 40:00Speaker 5: to adapt.
- 40:01Speaker 3: Yes, those days are long gone.
- 40:03Speaker 1: Yes, all right, we'll wrap it up with this Tom
- 40:06Speaker 1: Lougan Bill on the show ESPN College Football Analysts. Biggest
- 40:12Speaker 1: story coming out of the ACC? Can Belichick get it
- 40:17Speaker 1: done at North Carolina? Can Dabbo reboot Clemson? Or does
- 40:22Speaker 1: Mario make another run? Or is it another You were
- 40:25Speaker 1: there all week last week. You've got some big names
- 40:28Speaker 1: in the conference. What is it for you? Tom Lougan Bill,
- 40:32Speaker 1: I don't.
- 40:32Speaker 5: Think it's really I don't think North Carolina's is a
- 40:34Speaker 5: big of a storyline unless they come out of nowhere
- 40:36Speaker 5: and just completely have a reversal of fortune. You know,
- 40:40Speaker 5: last year, if you remember, they were gifted a great
- 40:43Speaker 5: schedule and went four and eight with it. They have
- 40:46Speaker 5: not been gifted that schedule this time around. Their schedule
- 40:49Speaker 5: is much more difficult. They are going to have almost
- 40:53Speaker 5: as many new faiths as they had a year ago,
- 40:55Speaker 5: yet they're going to be less experienced. I love to
- 40:57Speaker 5: hire Bobby Petrino, but can he get out of the
- 41:00Speaker 5: quarterback and how much better can they be?
- 41:03Speaker 3: They got to be able to run the football.
- 41:04Speaker 5: I mean last year North Carolina, when they ran for
- 41:07Speaker 5: one hundred and forty five yards or more per game,
- 41:10Speaker 5: they were three and oh they only won four games
- 41:12Speaker 5: all right. Last year at Arkansas there were only two
- 41:15Speaker 5: games where Bobby Petrino's offense didn't rush for one hundred
- 41:19Speaker 5: and forty five yards or more. So they're going to
- 41:21Speaker 5: try to run the football North Carolina, and they need
- 41:23Speaker 5: to because you don't know what the quarterback position is
- 41:25Speaker 5: going to be just yet. Miami is to me, they're
- 41:30Speaker 5: the most talented team. They have the best blend of
- 41:32Speaker 5: high school developed recruits and transfer portal additions. For me,
- 41:36Speaker 5: I don't think it's about how good Miami's going to
- 41:38Speaker 5: be or how good they're capable of being. To me,
- 41:41Speaker 5: it's going to be all about did they spend their
- 41:43Speaker 5: offseason in their press clippings? Yeah, and you know the
- 41:47Speaker 5: pats on the backs and the atta boys. I mean
- 41:49Speaker 5: that stuff starts sinking in and all of a sudden,
- 41:52Speaker 5: you know, you get caught up in it and you
- 41:54Speaker 5: lose your focus and you're not you know, when you
- 41:56Speaker 5: bring the new guys that weren't a part of that
- 41:57Speaker 5: run last year, they didn't have anything to do with that.
- 42:00Speaker 5: Now you've got to establish that run on your own
- 42:02Speaker 5: with a new team and a new locker room and
- 42:04Speaker 5: new leadership. And I think that's something you know, to
- 42:07Speaker 5: keep an eye on. With Miami, I think Clemson is
- 42:09Speaker 5: going to be very interesting to watch because, like I said,
- 42:11Speaker 5: you know, when was the last time we were going
- 42:13Speaker 5: into a preseason where all the talk was it Clemson?
- 42:17Speaker 5: You know, So it's going to be interesting. The quarterback
- 42:19Speaker 5: play is actually pretty good in the ACC.
- 42:21Speaker 3: CJ.
- 42:21Speaker 5: Bailey Atancy State is a stud. Kevin Jennings at SMU
- 42:24Speaker 5: is a stud. We obviously know Darien mensa many time
- 42:28Speaker 5: player getting that move to Miami, and you know, we'll
- 42:32Speaker 5: see how the whole thing plays out.
- 42:34Speaker 1: Lukes, we appreciate it. Have a good week, my man.
- 42:36Speaker 3: You bet we'll do same to you.
