Latest / ACC Football Addiction (Atlantic Coast Conference) / Miami vs Clemson is Going to PROVE Something MASSIVE for Canes or Tigers?
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: We will go to the ACC for a few minutes,
- 0:04Speaker 1: and Miami and Clemson face off in Clemson, South Carolina.
- 0:09Speaker 2: We talked about the weather in the game for Georgia.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Not too far away is Clemson, South Carolina. Again, we
- 0:16Speaker 1: may get rain across the entire southeast. It could be
- 0:19Speaker 1: an impact on every single game that happens from Mississippi State,
- 0:22Speaker 1: Bama to Florida, Missouri, all the way down here to
- 0:25Speaker 1: Tallahassee and Virginia.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Later.
- 0:27Speaker 1: So Clemson and Miami, Miami, a big favorite in this one.
- 0:31Speaker 1: I think it's 16 and a half or so Clemson
- 0:34Speaker 1: undefeated since losing against LSU early again, presented by prize picks,
- 0:38Speaker 1: but Graham, big picture thoughts on this one. Yeah.
- 0:41Speaker 3: I mean, I think this is a fun, interesting game.
- 0:44Speaker 3: I think everybody assumes that Miami is going to like
- 0:47Speaker 3: roll in there and stomp out Clemson. There's kind of
- 0:50Speaker 3: this idea of Miami as this dominant force, which I
- 0:54Speaker 3: totally understand. They're coming off a national title game appearance.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Darian Mensah is playing at a very high level. You've
- 1:02Speaker 3: got Malachi Toney. You've got Mark Fletcher. You've got the
- 1:05Speaker 3: star Damon Wilson coming off the edge. They've got the pieces.
- 1:09Speaker 3: They have the big names. But I am interested to see,
- 1:13Speaker 3: can Clemson offer some resistance in this game? Defensively, Clemson
- 1:17Speaker 3: has been playing really well, honestly, since that LSU game.
- 1:21Speaker 3: I thought they played really well with Cal. They handled
- 1:25Speaker 3: JKS well. in a pretty impressive way, I thought they've
- 1:29Speaker 3: started to find some pressure. Some of these kind of young,
- 1:33Speaker 3: like last wave of heralded blue chip Dabo recruits like
- 1:38Speaker 3: Sammy Brown are growing up a little bit. And then offensively,
- 1:42Speaker 3: it does seem like they're maybe kind of like finding
- 1:46Speaker 3: some footing. I thought Chad Morris sneakily called a very
- 1:48Speaker 3: good game against Cal, like big downs. There were some
- 1:52Speaker 3: nice things they did in the run game and, and
- 1:54Speaker 3: hit some things that I think caught Cal by surprise.
- 1:58Speaker 3: So this could be our first chance. I know that
- 2:03Speaker 3: Miami ended up sort of in a little bit of
- 2:05Speaker 3: a sweaty situation with Wake Forest late in that game
- 2:09Speaker 3: in Winston-Salem on a Friday night, but this could be
- 2:11Speaker 3: our first chance to just kind of see somebody with
- 2:14Speaker 3: a few more bodies that resemble what Miami has on
- 2:19Speaker 3: its roster.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I agree with that. And again, you factor
- 2:22Speaker 1: in the weather. You also think about where Miami has struggled.
- 2:27Speaker 1: They've not been good. Last two weeks, I believe it's
- 2:30Speaker 1: either 18 or 20 combined penalties, the last two games
- 2:32Speaker 1: that Miami has played. You certainly don't want to go
- 2:35Speaker 1: on the road to Death Valley and let that be
- 2:37Speaker 1: a factor. Number two, they've not been good on the
- 2:41Speaker 1: interior of the offensive line. And that has impacted the
- 2:45Speaker 1: running game. And Mario Cristobal has called it out. Obviously,
- 2:49Speaker 1: that's a passion of his being an offensive line guy.
- 2:51Speaker 1: And their fan base is not super happy with where
- 2:54Speaker 1: the interior of that offensive line is.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Is Vic back?
- 2:58Speaker 1: I know he was suspended for an undetermined amount of time.
- 3:02Speaker 1: But is Vic back for Clemson? Because I think that
- 3:04Speaker 1: could have a big impact. I should know that since
- 3:06Speaker 1: we're here two days from the game. But can probably
- 3:11Speaker 1: the best defensive front that Miami's seen so far? I mean,
- 3:13Speaker 1: you're thinking Stanford, FAMU, Central Michigan, and Wake Forest. With
- 3:17Speaker 1: or without him? I think this is probably going to
- 3:20Speaker 1: be one of the better fronts that you've seen defensively.
- 3:22Speaker 1: I wouldn't call them elite by any means, but one.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Of the better fronts in the ACC for sure.
- 3:27Speaker 1: What does Miami's offensive line look like up front and
- 3:32Speaker 1: in that middle to go up against the best? If
- 3:37Speaker 1: you're getting pushed back against Stanford, Wake, FAMU, and Central
- 3:41Speaker 1: Michigan at times, obviously they dominated FAMU, and they looked
- 3:45Speaker 1: better against Central Michigan too. But if you're getting pushed
- 3:47Speaker 1: back in some of your power for competition, and then
- 3:49Speaker 1: you've got to go on the road at Clemson, and
- 3:51Speaker 1: that interior of the offensive line hasn't, whether it's gelled
- 3:54Speaker 1: together or figured some things out or adjusted some technique,
- 3:58Speaker 1: whatever the fix is there for Coach Mirabelle, that is
- 4:01Speaker 1: a big question to me. If you need any example
- 4:05Speaker 1: of what defensive line pressure can do for a team,
- 4:08Speaker 1: go look at Knoxville last week, where both defensive lines combined,
- 4:12Speaker 1: as good as Colin Simmons was, Both defensive lines combined
- 4:15Speaker 1: for 16 sacks. I mean, they wrecked both offensive game
- 4:20Speaker 1: plans for large parts of that game. I do think
- 4:24Speaker 1: that if you look talent on talent, yeah, Miami should
- 4:26Speaker 1: win this game.
- 4:27Speaker 2: There's a reason.
- 4:27Speaker 1: They're a 17 point, 16 and a half point favorite
- 4:29Speaker 1: on the road. But if you're starting to think about like, okay, well,
- 4:32Speaker 1: what do we need to do to compete? Not just
- 4:35Speaker 1: on the road at Clemson, but then beyond. it all
- 4:38Speaker 1: starts up front and a Miami fans know that Miami
- 4:40Speaker 1: staff knows that because they watched what their team was
- 4:43Speaker 1: able to do last year. They were able to bully
- 4:44Speaker 1: most teams they played up front and it's not been
- 4:47Speaker 1: the same level from the interior offensive line perspective. And
- 4:51Speaker 1: that's the biggest thing that I want answered. I know
- 4:53Speaker 1: that Darian Mintz is probably going to have more touchdowns
- 4:55Speaker 1: than incompletions on Saturday. I know that Malachi Tony, if
- 4:58Speaker 1: he gets the ball in space is probably going to
- 5:00Speaker 1: do something special. I know that Damon Wilson will probably
- 5:02Speaker 1: make a big player too. Um, conversely, I know that
- 5:06Speaker 1: Clemson's wide receivers can probably make a play or two
- 5:08Speaker 1: against this secondary that's a little bit banged up for Miami.
- 5:10Speaker 1: But if you're Miami, to me, it's not just about
- 5:13Speaker 1: winning this game, which Mario would disagree and say, like,
- 5:16Speaker 1: it's just about going 1-0 here. But I think it's
- 5:18Speaker 1: a little bigger picture in, okay, is this really a
- 5:20Speaker 1: team that's going to go compete for it all, or
- 5:22Speaker 1: do they have two bigger questions on the offensive line
- 5:25Speaker 1: in the secondary with penalties and composure there? to really
- 5:30Speaker 1: put them in that elite category. And I think some
- 5:32Speaker 1: of those questions start to get answered against the best
- 5:34Speaker 1: front they've played all year.
- 5:36Speaker 3: Yeah, 100%. And I think that you look at Miami,
- 5:40Speaker 3: their offense, like if you look at their kind of
- 5:44Speaker 3: radar chart, right? Like game on paper, if you look
- 5:48Speaker 3: at their radar chart over here, past success rate, yards
- 5:52Speaker 3: of drop back, past EPA, like all of these advanced
- 5:55Speaker 3: stats in the past game, very good. Their success rates,
- 5:59Speaker 3: on late downs, very good, low average third down distance,
- 6:04Speaker 3: like lots of stuff that you like, but they don't
- 6:08Speaker 3: run the ball explosively. And really they, they have not,
- 6:12Speaker 3: despite Malachi Tony's just, just being Malachi Tony and being
- 6:17Speaker 3: maybe the coolest player in college football, they've not actually
- 6:21Speaker 3: been that overly explosive in the past game either. And
- 6:24Speaker 3: so that, that part is interesting. I think that Clemson,
- 6:29Speaker 3: It would surprise me a little bit just with how
- 6:31Speaker 3: Miami has been over the last few weeks for them
- 6:35Speaker 3: to come in and just run the ball down Clemson's throat.
- 6:39Speaker 3: I agree with what you said about the interior Miami's
- 6:42Speaker 3: offensive line, but I would point out that even Okunlola
- 6:47Speaker 3: at tackle has not been very good in the run
- 6:50Speaker 3: game to this point in the year. We know that
- 6:53Speaker 3: he's got all the tools to be a dominant zone
- 6:57Speaker 3: run blocker, but There are some things that just haven't
- 7:00Speaker 3: quite come together, and maybe that's kind of a product
- 7:03Speaker 3: of beating the crap out of people, right, and not
- 7:07Speaker 3: being pushed a little bit.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Let me take a real quick break. Let's give price picks.
- 7:13Speaker 2: If you play a $ 5.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Lineup on the Price Picks app using code HMA, if
- 7:19Speaker 1: you win that, your first lineup, you get $ 150 instantly.
- 7:23Speaker 1: If you want a lineup that's a winner this week,
- 7:25Speaker 1: I've got it for you.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Bo Pribula.
- 7:27Speaker 1: 5 passing touchdowns. Jaden Baugh,. 5 anytime touchdowns. Jaden Baugh
- 7:34Speaker 1: is going to score on the road up at Missouri.
- 7:36Speaker 1: They're going to hand him the ball 25 times, as
- 7:38Speaker 1: good as Duke Clark has been. That will be a
- 7:40Speaker 1: really good one for you to go out and get.
- 7:43Speaker 1: Florida State's passing defense, absolutely terrible. I say that as
- 7:46Speaker 1: an FSU guy. Bo Pribula will throw for a passing touchdown. Now, normally,
- 7:51Speaker 1: this would only pay out $ 6 on a $ 20 lineup.
- 7:54Speaker 1: But because of the bonus, you get $ 150 in bonus
- 7:57Speaker 1: bets if you use code HMA and it's your first time.
- 7:59Speaker 1: So you want to up your ante, put $ 5 in,
- 8:02Speaker 1: use our code, go set that.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Line up, go win it.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Low payout normally, but $ 150 this week if you use
- 8:10Speaker 1: the code HMA.
- 8:12Speaker 3: I do think that Clemson can probably put them into
- 8:16Speaker 3: more third and longs and put them into some more
- 8:19Speaker 3: situations and maybe have some athletes to at least like,
- 8:25Speaker 3: not take Tony away, you're not going to take him away,
- 8:27Speaker 3: but force Mensah to get off Tony and into some
- 8:31Speaker 3: other reads at times. We saw Wake Forest adjust in
- 8:36Speaker 3: the second half of that game and force him off
- 8:39Speaker 3: some of his first reads. He did not look as
- 8:42Speaker 3: comfortable as he had looked to that point in the season.
- 8:45Speaker 3: I would be shocked if Clemson won this game somehow
- 8:51Speaker 3: or anything like that, but I wouldn't be shocked if
- 8:54Speaker 3: this game is 10 points at halftime and 14 going
- 8:59Speaker 3: into the fourth quarter or something like that, and there's
- 9:02Speaker 3: at least a little bit of resistance. Yeah, yeah. Great.
- 9:08Speaker 2: I was trying to steal your word, but you got
- 9:09Speaker 2: it out before I could. No worries. Vic is back.
- 9:13Speaker 1: He was back for the UNC game. Sorry that I've
- 9:14Speaker 1: missed that, but has played in the last two games,
- 9:17Speaker 1: so he'll be there. So, again, Miami's interior offensive line,
- 9:20Speaker 1: the task gets a little tougher. with one of Clemson's
- 9:23Speaker 1: better players back. The big question I would have is
- 9:26Speaker 1: Clemson's offense. And I think you think about the way
- 9:28Speaker 1: this game may play out. And I think it is
- 9:31Speaker 1: absolutely plausible that this game, I mean, we already saw
- 9:35Speaker 1: it once, that this game does get away from Clemson.
- 9:38Speaker 1: And if Miami starts to get things rolling at all,
- 9:41Speaker 1: you wonder about Clemson's ability to fight back and respond
- 9:45Speaker 1: against a defense that does present a lot of pressure
- 9:47Speaker 1: up front. I think they can be gotten with how
- 9:50Speaker 1: good Clemson's weapons are. on their wideouts. But if a
- 9:55Speaker 1: young quarterback going up against one of the better defensive
- 9:57Speaker 1: lines as far as pressure rates go, in the conference,
- 10:01Speaker 1: if he doesn't have time, then I don't care if
- 10:03Speaker 1: you've got two Jeremiah Smiths out there. You've got to
- 10:06Speaker 1: have time to get him the ball. So I guess
- 10:08Speaker 1: my biggest question would be how much success, because I
- 10:12Speaker 1: do think he's been building. I think you're exactly right
- 10:14Speaker 1: on where Tate Reynolds is now versus where he was
- 10:16Speaker 1: three weeks ago. I think he's been improving consistently. It's
- 10:18Speaker 1: just a really stiff test this weekend against Miami. How
- 10:22Speaker 1: effective do you think their offense can be? And I
- 10:25Speaker 1: would guess the follow-up to that is, if it's not
- 10:28Speaker 1: very effective, then that's where I think this thing could
- 10:30Speaker 1: turn into non-competitive in the second half.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Which is a very realistic route.
- 10:38Speaker 3: Their offense has been really bad in a lot of respects.
- 10:43Speaker 3: It's hard to point to anything that they've done well
- 10:49Speaker 3: With consistency, their defense lately has kind of– I think
- 10:55Speaker 3: the defense has risen its level. And Reynolds did start
- 10:58Speaker 3: to do some things in the second, third, and fourth
- 11:01Speaker 3: quarters on the road at Cal where you were like, okay,
- 11:04Speaker 3: I see it. You're managing things and you're making some
- 11:07Speaker 3: throws over the middle and just putting together some decent
- 11:13Speaker 3: offense that built into drives and eventually built into some
- 11:16Speaker 3: explosive– plays for them in the run game, right? Which
- 11:19Speaker 3: is not something that we saw at all in Baton
- 11:23Speaker 3: Rouge in week one. I know that Cal's defensive personnel
- 11:26Speaker 3: is not LSU's defensive personnel, but still, I did think
- 11:31Speaker 3: like you had a moment with Tate Reynolds there a
- 11:34Speaker 3: little bit on the road, 3,000 miles from home. That
- 11:38Speaker 3: might be significant for him and his career and just
- 11:42Speaker 3: for this Clemson season and for Davos kind of career
- 11:45Speaker 3: arc at this point as well. in the sense of, like,
- 11:48Speaker 3: in this ACC, maybe Clemson can scratch out, like, a
- 11:51Speaker 3: 9-3 season or an 8-4 season. And if they do that,
- 11:55Speaker 3: then I don't know that some of the conversations we
- 11:58Speaker 3: were having after week one are going to be relevant anymore.
- 12:01Speaker 3: So I think that this Clemson offense, can they pass block? Like, Miami,
- 12:11Speaker 3: you know, honestly, with the ACC not doing the injury
- 12:16Speaker 3: report deal that we've seen from the SEC. It's hard
- 12:20Speaker 3: to know what Miami's defensive secondary personnel is going to
- 12:24Speaker 3: look like because I think you saw them feel the
- 12:28Speaker 3: lack of presence of some of those injured corners against
- 12:31Speaker 3: Wake Forest in the second half of that game. I
- 12:35Speaker 3: could see Clemson being able to take advantage of something
- 12:38Speaker 3: like that. Honestly, the thing that would help Clemson pass
- 12:41Speaker 3: protect for Reynolds some would be if Miami's not maybe
- 12:46Speaker 3: all the way where they want to be from a
- 12:48Speaker 3: personnel standpoint in the secondary. Because truthfully, I don't know
- 12:51Speaker 3: you want to leave some of those backup corners on
- 12:53Speaker 3: an island. It probably forces Miami into playing some more zones,
- 12:56Speaker 3: which probably kind of limits some of the pressure package
- 12:59Speaker 3: options that they have on the table in front of them.
- 13:01Speaker 3: So that to me is probably a huge storyline, like
- 13:05Speaker 3: how that looks in the hour or two before this game.
- 13:08Speaker 3: If that information is out there, that could certainly influence
- 13:12Speaker 3: Miami whether I want to bet on this game or
- 13:15Speaker 3: who I want to bet on in this game. But
- 13:19Speaker 3: I think that Clemson can put together some drives in
- 13:23Speaker 3: this game where maybe they can just kind of stack
- 13:27Speaker 3: some small gains. And they're going to challenge– like they
- 13:30Speaker 3: will challenge Miami in the sense of, let's be honest,
- 13:35Speaker 3: like in the fourth quarter in Winston-Salem the other night,
- 13:38Speaker 3: Damon Wilson looked 15 pounds overweight and a little bit
- 13:40Speaker 3: gassed and was coming off the field. Like there were
- 13:44Speaker 3: sort of some of those types of things that were
- 13:46Speaker 3: happening for Miami and not across the board by any
- 13:49Speaker 3: means at all. But I'm curious to see if Clemson
- 13:54Speaker 3: can just sustain a little bit of not even necessarily
- 14:00Speaker 3: drives that get points at times, but can your bad
- 14:03Speaker 3: drives be six, seven, eight plays instead of three and out?
- 14:08Speaker 3: Because if so, that might– might add up on Miami
- 14:12Speaker 3: a little bit as this game goes along.
- 14:17Speaker 2: I am very interested from the Clemson perspective.
- 14:20Speaker 1: You talked about a team that can maybe eke out eight, nine,
- 14:25Speaker 1: maybe even ten wins. When you look at their schedule
- 14:29Speaker 1: the rest of the way, and football weekends don't happen
- 14:32Speaker 1: in a vacuum, injuries pile up, certainly it's easy to
- 14:36Speaker 1: do this right now on October 1st. Miami this weekend,
- 14:40Speaker 1: Charleston Southern next week, they should win. Virginia Tech's a
- 14:43Speaker 1: fun story. They're a dog right now, I think, to pit.
- 14:46Speaker 1: They could have a loss coming into that October 24th
- 14:48Speaker 1: game in two weeks. They might have two losses coming
- 14:51Speaker 1: into that game. We'll see how the season plays out.
- 14:53Speaker 1: They weren't overly inspiring last weekend, but Clemson could win
- 14:56Speaker 1: that game at home. They go to Florida State, where
- 14:58Speaker 1: I think, again, good game, but I think they're a
- 15:01Speaker 1: little bit better than the Seminoles. They should beat Syracuse.
- 15:04Speaker 1: I think Georgia Tech's a mess right now. Duke is
- 15:07Speaker 1: undefeated too right now, but we'll see where they are
- 15:09Speaker 1: in late November. And then South Carolina, who's also a mess.
- 15:13Speaker 1: There's a lot of winnable games on the back half
- 15:14Speaker 1: of this schedule. I don't know that I would take
- 15:17Speaker 1: the over on 9.5, but I would probably take the
- 15:20Speaker 1: over on 8.5. And you're talking if Clemson can kind
- 15:24Speaker 1: of just hold serve for a lot of this season,
- 15:27Speaker 1: they could finish 10-2, 9-3 probably at worst, and two
- 15:33Speaker 1: of their losses beat up top 10 teams in LSU
- 15:36Speaker 1: and Miami.
- 15:37Speaker 2: And that's not the Clemson standard.
- 15:39Speaker 1: I know that's not what Dabo built in 2016 and 2018.
- 15:42Speaker 1: But if you are basically the best of that next
- 15:45Speaker 1: tier and your only two losses are to Miami and LSU,
- 15:49Speaker 1: I'd also say like, man, you just you can't let
- 15:51Speaker 1: what happened to LSU.
- 15:52Speaker 2: You can't let a snowball like that.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Happen because at 10 and two with a close loss
- 15:57Speaker 1: to Miami, maybe you make it into Charlotte with a
- 16:00Speaker 1: one loss ACC record. you're kind of getting talked about in,
- 16:03Speaker 1: in some conversations that would happen. Not that I think
- 16:05Speaker 1: Clemson is really deserving of a playoff spot right now.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Like that's not the argument I'm trying to make, but
- 16:10Speaker 1: 10 and two with losses to Miami and LSU is
- 16:13Speaker 1: not the worst result when we think about what those
- 16:16Speaker 1: teams are and might be this year. But if you
- 16:18Speaker 1: lose both of them by 50, like you did week one,
- 16:21Speaker 1: you know, then I think you're kind of seen as
- 16:23Speaker 1: a paper champion at that point or a paper 10
- 16:26Speaker 1: win season. So, I would like to, for Clemson's sake,
- 16:30Speaker 1: I would like to see them be competitive in this
- 16:31Speaker 1: game because then that does give me hope over these
- 16:33Speaker 1: last seven.
- 16:34Speaker 2: Weeks of, yeah, they're probably going to beat everybody else
- 16:36Speaker 2: on their schedule.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Not that you can't slip up in Doak or can't
- 16:39Speaker 1: slip up to James Franklin or Lenore Sellers couldn't have
- 16:41Speaker 1: a go-off game in a rivalry.
- 16:43Speaker 2: He's done it before. But, yeah, I think that the way.
- 16:46Speaker 1: That Clemson looks, even in a potential loss, if they
- 16:49Speaker 1: cover the spread, I'll tell you that, if they cover
- 16:51Speaker 1: the spread, I'd feel a lot more confident about the
- 16:53Speaker 1: direction that Clemson's season is heading in. Though, you know,
- 16:56Speaker 1: I don't think this is a playoff team that goes
- 16:59Speaker 1: and wins multiple games or anything like that.
- 17:00Speaker 2: But I'd feel better about where they were overall.
- 17:03Speaker 3: Well, I mean, the other side of it, too, is
- 17:06Speaker 3: just what were the reactions when Davo hired Chad Morris, right? Like,
- 17:12Speaker 3: you know, I mean, there's some of that there where
- 17:14Speaker 3: it looked like he was kind of getting into a
- 17:18Speaker 3: little bit of, like, old man bunker mentality. Yeah. Maybe
- 17:24Speaker 3: the old man's lost it and he's a little bit potentially.
- 17:29Speaker 2: Not, right?
- 17:30Speaker 3: But he could also go out in this game and
- 17:32Speaker 3: get his ass beat, TJ. Like that's very much on
- 17:35Speaker 3: the table. So I don't want to get too excited
- 17:38Speaker 3: or positive on him quite yet here. But I do
- 17:43Speaker 3: have a hunch a little bit that maybe it's a
- 17:48Speaker 3: backdoor cover or something like that. But this game right now,
- 17:53Speaker 3: You know, it's sitting at 16 and a half in
- 17:57Speaker 3: a lot of places, which I would love to bet
- 18:00Speaker 3: it at 17 and a half. There are a couple
- 18:02Speaker 3: that have it at 17. But, you know, I think
- 18:05Speaker 3: Clemson kind of hangs around. Maybe it's a backdoor cover
- 18:10Speaker 3: type of scenario. I could certainly see that. But I
- 18:14Speaker 3: think that they'll offer some resistance to Miami's offense and
- 18:19Speaker 3: maybe just kind of force– whether it's Miami comes out
- 18:22Speaker 3: on the opening script and, and goes for a touchdown
- 18:25Speaker 3: and then Clemson adjusts to that. And it stays kind
- 18:29Speaker 3: of within seven to 10 for a little while, or
- 18:31Speaker 3: it is the opposite scenario where Clemson shuts them down early.
- 18:37Speaker 3: And then Miami kind of gets it in gear. Like
- 18:39Speaker 3: I expect Miami to pull away in this game, but I,
- 18:41Speaker 3: I am going to take Clemson in the, in the points.
- 18:45Speaker 2: I will go the other way.
- 18:46Speaker 1: I hope I'm wrong on that just for Clemson sake. Like, to,
- 18:49Speaker 1: to have them be a little more competitive this year.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Cause I think it, I'm not one of these big, like, Oh,
- 18:54Speaker 1: college football is better when college football is always great.
- 18:56Speaker 1: So I'm not, but I do like to see, you know, I, I,
- 19:00Speaker 1: I would like to see Clemson be a little more competitive.
- 19:02Speaker 1: I'll tell you for Miami sake, I think the exact
- 19:04Speaker 1: opposite exists. Like I, I think they need to not
- 19:07Speaker 1: have another scrape by an ACC team that we don't
- 19:10Speaker 1: think is great. Um, and you know, dilly dally around
- 19:15Speaker 1: through the whole season. Um, and then get to the
- 19:18Speaker 1: playoff and you're like, well, wow, this is actual competition.
- 19:21Speaker 1: I know they have to go to South Bend. So
- 19:23Speaker 1: I think both teams kind of, I don't know how
- 19:25Speaker 1: important it is for teams to cover the spread. I
- 19:27Speaker 1: know that weather and backdoor covers and things like play
- 19:30Speaker 1: into all that, but I think it's a game where
- 19:33Speaker 1: Miami really needs to look impressive. And it's a game
- 19:36Speaker 1: where Clem, because people will be watching and it's a
- 19:39Speaker 1: game where Miami needs to, or Clemson needs to go
- 19:43Speaker 1: out and, and, and look competent as well. So, Interesting,
- 19:47Speaker 1: but I will take the other line. I'll take Miami
- 19:49Speaker 1: to find out.
- 19:50Speaker 2: A way to get it done.
