- 0:23Speaker 1: It is time to leave your worries outside and laugh
- 0:27Speaker 1: with us inside the Treehouse. I'm Daniel Malley, along with
- 0:31Speaker 1: Trey Trenholme and Raj Sharma. Today is Monday, April twenty eight,
- 0:36Speaker 1: twenty twenty five, the beginning of a brand new week
- 0:41Speaker 1: for you and for us here inside the Treehouse, and
- 0:44Speaker 1: we are going to start today with the most shocking
- 0:49Speaker 1: story I have seen this year. And keep in mind,
- 0:53Speaker 1: I watch the news every single day, and I'm saying
- 0:57Speaker 1: this is the most shocking story I've seen this year.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Elizabeth Hurley and Billy Ray Cyrus are a couple. Mm hm,
- 1:08Speaker 1: who would have funked it?
- 1:11Speaker 2: I don't even know how that happens.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Billy Ray Cyrus just hard launched his unexpected new romance
- 1:22Speaker 1: with actress and model Elizabeth Hurley, and he did it
- 1:26Speaker 1: with Bunny Years on Easter Sunday, the Country Star. That's
- 1:34Speaker 1: star loose terminology there, Billy Ray posted a PDA pack
- 1:39Speaker 1: photo with Elizabeth Hurley, cealing weeks of rumors after she
- 1:43Speaker 1: used his song She's not crying anymore in a bikini post.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Elizabeth Hurley's not in a whole lot of movie or
- 1:53Speaker 1: television projects these days. It's mostly just first traps on Instagram,
- 1:59Speaker 1: but her credit it worked. Both Billy Ray and Elizabeth
- 2:05Speaker 1: recently single, they are now officially together, complete with Billy
- 2:09Speaker 1: Ray smooching heurly on the cheek and captioning it Happy Easter.
- 2:14Speaker 1: The reveal follows Billy Ray's headline making split from Australian
- 2:19Speaker 1: singer Fire Rose last year. So sad for them. Just
- 2:23Speaker 1: really thought two kids could make it work. It'd be
- 2:25Speaker 1: Billy Ray and fire Rose, but no anyway. Billy Ray
- 2:32Speaker 1: and fire Rose's seven month marriage ended in a bitter
- 2:36Speaker 1: legal battle involving accusations of fraud, emotional abuse, and financial manipulation.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Fire Rose, on her part, walked away with no money,
- 2:44Speaker 1: but retained music royalties and the last name Cyrus, something
- 2:49Speaker 1: that Billy Ray believes was her plan all along. How nefarious. Now,
- 2:54Speaker 1: after a chaotic twenty twenty four and a rough public
- 2:58Speaker 1: image stretch, Billy Ray seemed to be bouncing back, with
- 3:01Speaker 1: Elizabeth Hurley leaving countless men to ask hang on, hang on,
- 3:12Speaker 1: leaving countless men to ask, how the did he do that?
- 3:17Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 3:18Speaker 1: I'd also like to point out that this is the
- 3:19Speaker 1: first time in my life that I've ever thought about
- 3:22Speaker 1: a romantic relationship between two sixty year olds. I feel
- 3:28Speaker 1: a little uoky about it. But to their credit, they
- 3:32Speaker 1: look good for their ages. Yes, Billy Ray, I think
- 3:35Speaker 1: is sixty three or sixty four. Elizabeth Hurley I think
- 3:38Speaker 1: is not quite sixty. I think she's fifty nine, or
- 3:40Speaker 1: maybe she just turned sixty the other day. Whatever the
- 3:45Speaker 1: case is. It's two old people, and I wouldn't typically
- 3:48Speaker 1: care about their romantic relationships, but here we are.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Sadly, it doesn't really surprise me because no, Wowretty.
- 4:00Speaker 1: Sure, even Billy Ray's a little surprise Tray. Yeah, like
- 4:03Speaker 1: even he's citing there, going like is this is this
- 4:06Speaker 1: really happening? No, no one tell her anything.
- 4:10Speaker 3: Elizabeth Hurley spent a considerable amount of time in Dallas.
- 4:17Speaker 4: Years ago, and.
- 4:21Speaker 3: She had questionable taste in men. And I'll leave it
- 4:24Speaker 3: at that.
- 4:26Speaker 1: What did you, Elizabeth Hurley?
- 4:30Speaker 3: Tray, No, I would have told I would have told you.
- 4:33Speaker 1: You'd have been on the cover of People magazine.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Yeah, it was me.
- 4:39Speaker 3: It's horrible taste in men. And I'm okay with it.
- 4:41Speaker 1: I'm Trey and Elizabeth Hurley my LinkedIn profile.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Trey has a new book out.
- 4:50Speaker 1: I did it sure, it's the same time. It's a
- 4:52Speaker 1: slightly different title than OJ, but I'm leaning into it.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Uh No, this really is fascinating. So you want to
- 4:59Speaker 1: know how they actually got together? Yes, all right? So
- 5:03Speaker 1: In a People Magazine exclusive, Billy Ray Cyrus was feeling
- 5:09Speaker 1: down and then he got a text from Elizabeth Hurley.
- 5:14Speaker 1: After Billy Ray and Hurley debuted their relationship and an
- 5:16Speaker 1: Instagram post on Easter Sunday, the country star opened up
- 5:19Speaker 1: about how they grew close and a People exclusive excerpt
- 5:22Speaker 1: from his upcoming interview on Apple Music Countries The Ty
- 5:26Speaker 1: Bentley Show, wherever that is the Grammy Winner. Yeah, he's
- 5:30Speaker 1: Grammy Winner sixty three, recalled meeting Hurley, who's fifty nine.
- 5:33Speaker 1: There you go. They met while filming twenty twenty two's
- 5:37Speaker 1: Christmas in Paradise movie. It's filmed on the Caribbean island
- 5:42Speaker 1: of Nevis, not long after he separated from his ex
- 5:46Speaker 1: wife Tish in April twenty twenty two. He said, we
- 5:48Speaker 1: did very few scenes together, but a couple times we
- 5:51Speaker 1: were in the same scene. There was a chemistry there.
- 5:53Speaker 1: We laughed and it was at a time when I
- 5:55Speaker 1: wasn't laughing a lot. He continued, by saying the oddest
- 5:58Speaker 1: part was first how much which we laughed. A second,
- 6:01Speaker 1: I figured we were so different, but in some very
- 6:03Speaker 1: strange way, we had way more in common than we
- 6:06Speaker 1: had different. I'm assuming they both love wearing bikinis. The
- 6:10Speaker 1: Achy Breaky Heart singer said they didn't speak for two
- 6:12Speaker 1: years after filming Christmas and Paradise, and then he entered
- 6:15Speaker 1: a difficult period of his life. At the time, he
- 6:18Speaker 1: didn't even know the number of the person who sent
- 6:20Speaker 1: him a text along the lines of, Hey, it looks
- 6:23Speaker 1: like life might be a little tough and just wanted
- 6:25Speaker 1: you to know I'm in your corner. You've got a
- 6:27Speaker 1: friend in your corner. That text came from Elizabeth Hurley. Well,
- 6:33Speaker 1: that's sweet, it is. It all started with a text Yeah.
- 6:38Speaker 2: I mean that's twenty twenty five. Everything starts with the
- 6:42Speaker 2: text now yeah.
- 6:43Speaker 1: And Billy Ray sees this text, said it reminded him
- 6:48Speaker 1: a bit of what hang on. He likened the message
- 6:53Speaker 1: to an uplifting interaction with Johnny Cash. Okay, sure, he said,
- 6:58Speaker 1: when I was taking a bit of a pounding from
- 6:59Speaker 1: the critics in nineteen ninety two, Johnny cashit, Hey, you know,
- 7:02Speaker 1: just remember that all things that are good come from
- 7:04Speaker 1: Almighty God above, and that stuff happens. And in your case,
- 7:07Speaker 1: the good outweighs the bad. Let him have it. I'm
- 7:09Speaker 1: in your corner. So then Hurley's message reminded Billy Ray
- 7:14Speaker 1: a bit of what Johnny had written him at his
- 7:16Speaker 1: lowest point. So Billy Ray responded to the anonymous texter saying,
- 7:21Speaker 1: who is this? And the anonymous texter responds Elizabeth Hurley,
- 7:26Speaker 1: to which I assume he said, it is.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Cut it out, Miley.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly, Not again, Biley, that's not funny.
- 7:40Speaker 3: I mean, I figured his crisis in ninety two came
- 7:44Speaker 3: when he realized he was a talentless and yeah, that
- 7:51Speaker 3: Akey Breaky Heart was. He was a one hit wonder
- 7:54Speaker 3: for the most part.
- 7:55Speaker 2: But you have to admit, like that song took this
- 7:58Speaker 2: country by storm.
- 8:00Speaker 1: It is unbelievable, and you can't call him a one
- 8:03Speaker 1: hit wonder anymore. Now he's a two hit wonder. The
- 8:07Speaker 1: question is which is the bigger hit?
- 8:10Speaker 2: Elizabeth Hurley, for sure.

- 10:05Speaker 1: Turnholm and Ros Sharma. Today is Monday, April twenty eight,
- 10:08Speaker 1: twenty twenty five. It's been a shaky start to the
- 10:10Speaker 1: week because we're still reeling with the news that Elizabeth
- 10:13Speaker 1: Hurley and Billy Ray Cyrus are now a romantic couple,
- 10:16Speaker 1: and we're just still kind of like, huh about it.
- 10:21Speaker 4: Yeah, I was.
- 10:22Speaker 2: I saw the same thing, and I'm like, it's not
- 10:24Speaker 2: the same Elizabeth Hurley, like Hugh Grant Elizabeth Hurley.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Right, It's like it's it's like some diner waitress with
- 10:31Speaker 1: the same name or something exactly, maybe like the CEO
- 10:37Speaker 1: of an r maybe like the CEO of an RV
- 10:40Speaker 1: dealership Elizabeth Hurley.
- 10:41Speaker 2: I'm more like a more like a clerk at a
- 10:45Speaker 2: checkout clerk att as RV park, not in an RV dealership.
- 10:52Speaker 1: The front end manager. So Elizabeth Hurley, front end manager
- 10:55Speaker 1: at the Bigley wigglely. Yes, No, it's it's not the one.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Oh wow, it's a deep one. Yeah wow, well well done.
- 11:06Speaker 1: Good for him like that just shows you there's hope
- 11:09Speaker 1: for everyone. Yeah, I mean Billy Ray Cyrus is out
- 11:12Speaker 1: here teaching us all never to give up on your dreams.
- 11:16Speaker 1: No matter how down and out and bad life gets.
- 11:20Speaker 1: You might get a random text from Elizabeth Hurley to
- 11:22Speaker 1: pull you out. I wouldn't count on it, but you
- 11:27Speaker 1: just might.
- 11:28Speaker 2: You know, in life, if you if you just will
- 11:30Speaker 2: wait long enough, you'll get your Elizabeth Hurley as well.
- 11:35Speaker 1: It may not be that one, it might be that
- 11:37Speaker 1: the one from Pigley Wiggly, but you might get one.
- 11:39Speaker 4: You'll get one.
- 11:41Speaker 1: It's important though that if you're down and out and
- 11:43Speaker 1: you're feeling bad, it's important to spend time with your friends,
- 11:45Speaker 1: right m That's kind of a big part of what
- 11:49Speaker 1: this show is about. It's hanging out with your friends.
- 11:52Speaker 1: But guys' nights. You know, Trey you're single, Raj, you're single.
- 11:58Speaker 1: You guys you know you can do guys whenever you want.
- 12:01Speaker 1: But when you were in relationships, did you ever have
- 12:04Speaker 1: a specific like, Hey, I need a guys night I'm
- 12:06Speaker 1: having I just I need to hang out with my bros.
- 12:10Speaker 2: When when I was married to Claire, she was very
- 12:13Speaker 2: she was good about that she'd go out and spend
- 12:15Speaker 2: time with your She would say, go out and spend
- 12:17Speaker 2: time with your mates, and I was like, all right.
- 12:19Speaker 2: So she's like, you know, whenever you feel like it,
- 12:21Speaker 2: if it's uh, and so we'd all, you know, all
- 12:23Speaker 2: the Dallas comments when wed over at Pats and Studio
- 12:25Speaker 2: City and have a good time. And yeah, so she
- 12:28Speaker 2: was good about that.
- 12:29Speaker 1: How many nights a week did you need to feel healthy?
- 12:33Speaker 1: How many how many guys' nights a week do you
- 12:36Speaker 1: need to feel good and happy and healthy?
- 12:39Speaker 2: Well? I was also in the comedy clubs, so I
- 12:40Speaker 2: mean I was, you know, surrounded by buddies. So that
- 12:44Speaker 2: was every year night. But yeah, I mean that was
- 12:47Speaker 2: but it's also work. But when we would go to Pats,
- 12:50Speaker 2: like during the day, like on a Saturday, so like
- 12:54Speaker 2: once a week.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Yeah, right, And in your last long term relationship or
- 12:58Speaker 1: even throughout all of them, was a guy's night important
- 13:02Speaker 1: to you? I mean, uh, get that look off your face.
- 13:09Speaker 1: I'm not setting you up for something. This is an
- 13:11Speaker 1: honest dreak.
- 13:12Speaker 3: No, the look is in my drinking days. You know,
- 13:17Speaker 3: every night was a guys night whatever, because you know,
- 13:19Speaker 3: I was going to the bar and there was always
- 13:23Speaker 3: so didn't prioritize my time very well.
- 13:28Speaker 4: And then.
- 13:31Speaker 3: I work in bars, so I have plenty of social interactions,
- 13:34Speaker 3: so I have guys night. If it were something not
- 13:42Speaker 3: involving going to a bar, I'd be interested in. But otherwise, eh.
- 13:48Speaker 1: You got Daisy the Chihuahua and Julius the kat You're good.
- 13:52Speaker 1: H Well. I realized the irony here in needing a
- 13:56Speaker 1: guy's night to feel healthy, because usually nights with the
- 13:59Speaker 1: guys are the opposite of healthy, as Trey sort of
- 14:05Speaker 1: you know, attested to there, because a lot of times
- 14:07Speaker 1: guys and I are at a bar and he's talking
- 14:09Speaker 1: about it the loon, and no one felt good the
- 14:12Speaker 1: day after the loon as much fun as it was.
- 14:14Speaker 1: But an Oxford University study found that men need at
- 14:19Speaker 1: least two nights a week to support their mental and
- 14:23Speaker 1: physical health. Good luck telling that to your wife, just FOYI.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Whether it's grabbing a drink, watching a game, or just
- 14:33Speaker 1: hanging out, these regular social meetups with close friends help
- 14:37Speaker 1: strengthen emotional bonds that protect against stress, anxiety, and depression.
- 14:42Speaker 1: This is again according to Oxford University. And they know things.
- 14:46Speaker 1: They're smart people. Supposedly, the research also linked consistent Maile
- 14:50Speaker 1: gatherings to faster recovery from illness and greater generosity. Despite
- 14:55Speaker 1: the benefits, around forty percent of men only managed to
- 14:59Speaker 1: meet up once a week, falling short of the recommended
- 15:02Speaker 1: dose of connection for peak well being. So it's weird
- 15:06Speaker 1: enough to have recommended daily allowances for vitamins and nutrients
- 15:09Speaker 1: and things, but now you have a once a week
- 15:12Speaker 1: recommended allowance for bro time, according to Oxford.
- 15:18Speaker 3: Now, Dan, you live on you know, kind of isolated,
- 15:21Speaker 3: I guess, And is that how you and Tara got
- 15:24Speaker 3: the strap on play involved? Is your need for guys time?
- 15:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm not too good at making new friends, so
- 15:36Speaker 1: it just kind of dress up what I got.
- 15:43Speaker 4: You're in the Treehouse Business Online on.
- 15:47Speaker 1: Air dot com, Trey, let me tell you about my
- 15:49Speaker 1: new buddy Rick.

- 16:42Speaker 1: We'll see you this Tuesday. This is the Treehouse Show.
- 16:47Speaker 1: I'm Dan, He's trade. That's Raj. Today's Monday, April twenty eighth,
- 16:51Speaker 1: two thousand and twenty five. Do you guys know anyone
- 16:55Speaker 1: that's ever faked a stroke?
- 16:58Speaker 3: Jesus No.
- 17:01Speaker 2: I know somebody that faked cancer, but not a stroke.
- 17:06Speaker 3: That's hard to fake.
- 17:10Speaker 1: Yeah, it is unless you're really committed to it. I've
- 17:13Speaker 1: known someone that faked many health related ailments. Stroke was
- 17:17Speaker 1: not one of them. I don't believe. I don't think
- 17:19Speaker 1: unless I forgot about it amidst all the other fake ones.
- 17:23Speaker 1: But it's an important issue if someone has a stroke,
- 17:27Speaker 1: if you know someone or you yourself have had a stroke.
- 17:31Speaker 1: I actually have some good news, Okay. Researchers at the
- 17:34Speaker 1: University of California, Los Angeles, otherwise known as UCLA, have
- 17:38Speaker 1: created a groundbreaking drug that can fully restore motor function
- 17:42Speaker 1: following a stroke.
- 17:44Speaker 3: Oh.
- 17:45Speaker 1: I mean this is massive, and this is why I
- 17:47Speaker 1: ask if you know anyone that's ever faked a stroke,
- 17:50Speaker 1: because now that now you can get them the medication
- 17:54Speaker 1: is the first of its kind to offer complete rehabilitation
- 17:57Speaker 1: without requiring extended physical therapy. According to doctor Thomas Carmichael,
- 18:03Speaker 1: chair the Department of Neurology and lead researcher on the project,
- 18:07Speaker 1: the drug, known as DDL nine, marks the beginning of
- 18:12Speaker 1: a new chapter in stroke recovery, driven by molecular medicine.
- 18:16Speaker 1: In pre clinical trials on mice, the drug successfully repaired
- 18:21Speaker 1: brain damage and re established neural connections. The next step
- 18:26Speaker 1: is to begin testing in humans. So if you think
- 18:28Speaker 1: Grandpa may be playing up his symptoms to get out
- 18:31Speaker 1: of antiquing with Grandma, call UCLA and sign him up.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Of all the scientific news that seems to keep pouring
- 18:41Speaker 1: out of the science community recently, this is one of
- 18:44Speaker 1: the ones I'm most excited about. Being able to actually
- 18:48Speaker 1: reverse the effects of a stroke is astounding.
- 18:51Speaker 4: Yeah, it's huge.
- 18:54Speaker 1: I know that. I'm sure we all know someone that's
- 18:58Speaker 1: had a stroke in our families and how debilitating they
- 19:02Speaker 1: can be. Sometimes what is it, tray gohead?
- 19:08Speaker 2: Oh.
- 19:08Speaker 3: I would assume if they are getting to the point
- 19:11Speaker 3: where they can re establish neural connections, then helping you know,
- 19:18Speaker 3: people with paralysis, I would have to assume is on
- 19:21Speaker 3: the horizon.
- 19:22Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely, you're right. I hadn't even thought about that.
- 19:24Speaker 1: If you're able to repair that damage from a stroke victim,
- 19:27Speaker 1: then the next step would be taking it a couple
- 19:29Speaker 1: of steps further and being able to do the same
- 19:32Speaker 1: for people that have had paralysis issues, taking a couple
- 19:37Speaker 1: of steps back from that. I'm hoping that there might
- 19:40Speaker 1: be hope for my memory difficulties, Like, if you can
- 19:43Speaker 1: cure a stroke victim, surely you can come up with
- 19:46Speaker 1: a pill that helps me remember what my wife told
- 19:49Speaker 1: me ten minutes ago.
- 19:52Speaker 2: It's not going to rebuild brain cells, which I think
- 19:54Speaker 2: you lost running into that shed. It's not going to
- 19:58Speaker 2: do that.
- 19:59Speaker 1: I' and the wait hang on.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Already forgot No, No, I.
- 20:04Speaker 1: Was just trying to remember if I almost said I've
- 20:06Speaker 1: never run into a shed, but I had to stop
- 20:08Speaker 1: and think, wait, have I? I may have run into
- 20:11Speaker 1: a shed at some point, but that's that's way down
- 20:14Speaker 1: on the list of things that my head is hit
- 20:15Speaker 1: in my life. That would be detrimental because most sheds
- 20:19Speaker 1: are kind of flimsy.
- 20:21Speaker 2: Oh whatever that furniture was that you when you were
- 20:24Speaker 2: five or whatever it was when you ran full speed
- 20:26Speaker 2: Wasn't it.
- 20:26Speaker 4: Just a board?
- 20:28Speaker 1: It was. It was nineteen eighties hardcore treated wood playground equipment.
- 20:39Speaker 1: It's just and yeah, it was basically a two by
- 20:42Speaker 1: six board that went across the top of it, and
- 20:44Speaker 1: that's what my forehead hit. But I realized I was
- 20:47Speaker 1: actually thinking about this the other day. There's that wasn't
- 20:49Speaker 1: my first major head injury. I was five when that happened.
- 20:54Speaker 1: But still not my first major head injury. My first
- 20:56Speaker 1: was when I was three. No, I don't remember it.
- 21:00Speaker 1: I still have a scar up here on my head
- 21:02Speaker 1: up here, like sorry, I feel like I'm doing the
- 21:05Speaker 1: cousin Eddie from Christmas vacation. If this gets dented, my
- 21:09Speaker 1: hair just won't won't look right. But no, I have
- 21:11Speaker 1: a scar here on top of my head from the
- 21:15Speaker 1: kitchen counter I had. You remember those eighties countertops. I
- 21:18Speaker 1: don't know what the substances called, but it was well,
- 21:22Speaker 1: you know, it's from the eighties. It's well before that,
- 21:24Speaker 1: you know. Granted, wasn't the thing. Courts definitely wasn't the thing.
- 21:27Speaker 1: It was just that super hard plastic or whatever it
- 21:32Speaker 1: was for Micah. For Micah, that's what it was. It
- 21:34Speaker 1: was for Micah it's a sharp bastard. It was in
- 21:38Speaker 1: the kitchen I reached down to pick up a spoon
- 21:40Speaker 1: or a fork, and my mom and dad both had
- 21:42Speaker 1: told me about this, and I grabbed the fork off
- 21:44Speaker 1: the ground, and when I'm standing back up from bending over,
- 21:48Speaker 1: they saw what was going to happen, and there's nothing
- 21:50Speaker 1: they could do to stop it, or they hated me.
- 21:52Speaker 1: And my head right here just hit the corner of
- 21:56Speaker 1: that for micah countertop and just opened it right up.
- 22:00Speaker 2: And then it was just big pencil after that.
- 22:05Speaker 1: Oddly enough, that is that is around the time I
- 22:08Speaker 1: got my first big pencil that said an.
- 22:13Speaker 3: So I guess the headboard is just nostalgia. For you.
- 22:21Speaker 2: Memories call it nostalgia.
- 22:24Speaker 1: I call it sudden recall.

- 23:48Speaker 3: three five. The other thing is when you hear stuff

- 24:04Speaker 1: You can get all of that right then and there.
- 24:06Speaker 3: Thank you. Trap.
- 24:07Speaker 1: Today is Monday, April twenty eighth, twenty twenty five. Last
- 24:12Speaker 1: week I asked you guys, do you know not the
- 24:15Speaker 1: muffin man, but do you know what an ain't a
- 24:20Speaker 1: rectal foreign body is? And Roj you guessed it correctly.
- 24:23Speaker 1: That is a foreign object you know inside your butt. Well,
- 24:29Speaker 1: now I need to ask you another medical question. Have
- 24:33Speaker 1: you ever heard of an internal decapitation.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Internal decapitation, Yeah, that would be I'm guessing some sort
- 24:44Speaker 2: of thing you put inside you and it you squeeze
- 24:50Speaker 2: a little hard and pops the head off.
- 24:52Speaker 1: That's what I first thought when I saw internal decapitation.
- 24:56Speaker 1: I thought someone had their head shoved up their bosses
- 24:59Speaker 1: ass so far that eventually it snapped off. But that
- 25:06Speaker 1: would be incorrect. Trey, any idea on the internal decapitation,
- 25:12Speaker 1: No good, We're going to learn about it together. A
- 25:18Speaker 1: decapitated woman's head was reattached after a freak gym class accident. Yeah,
- 25:25Speaker 1: doctors reattached an Illinois woman's skull to her spine, so
- 25:29Speaker 1: this is essential. Her skull and her spine were separated,
- 25:36Speaker 1: but I guess the fleshy stuff stayed intact, therefore making
- 25:41Speaker 1: it an internal decapitation. Technically, she was decapitated because her
- 25:45Speaker 1: skull was no longer attached to her spine. That's the
- 25:48Speaker 1: technical medical version for decapitation. It was internal because her neck,
- 25:54Speaker 1: muscles and everything stayed attached.
- 25:56Speaker 3: Well, the brain stayed attached to the spinal cord.
- 25:59Speaker 1: I'm assuming, Uh, yeah, I believe. So this was a
- 26:03Speaker 1: freak accident and it left her with a nearly fatal
- 26:07Speaker 1: internal decapitation. Her name is Megan King. She's now thirty five.
- 26:11Speaker 1: She was sixteen when she fell while leaping for a
- 26:15Speaker 1: ball during a soccer game in gym class. So this
- 26:18Speaker 1: isn't from like aerial yoga or you know, puppy pilates
- 26:24Speaker 1: or anything like that that's happening. This is when she
- 26:27Speaker 1: was sixteen, playing soccer in gym class. She injured her
- 26:31Speaker 1: right ankle and spine and tore the muscle off both
- 26:34Speaker 1: her shoulder blades. Okay. After twenty two surgeries, her condition
- 26:40Speaker 1: got progressively worse, leading doctors to diagnose her with hypermobile
- 26:44Speaker 1: Eler's dan Los syndrome, which appropriately is initials heads HGGS.
- 26:52Speaker 1: It's a genetic connective issue disorder connective tissue disorder that
- 26:56Speaker 1: disrupts the body's production of collagen, leading to joint instability.
- 27:00Speaker 1: A year after the diagnosis, her neck became dislocated, forcing
- 27:04Speaker 1: her to wear a restrictive halo brace with screws placed
- 27:07Speaker 1: directly into her skull to keep her from moving. During
- 27:10Speaker 1: the removal of the brace, her skull detached from her spine,
- 27:16Speaker 1: causing her to suffer a nearly deadly internal decapitation known
- 27:20Speaker 1: as an atlential occipital dislocation. And for the record, I
- 27:24Speaker 1: said that perfectly on a cold read. She said, I
- 27:27Speaker 1: flew my chair back to keep gravity from decapitating me.
- 27:30Speaker 1: My neurosurgeon had to hold my skull in place with
- 27:33Speaker 1: his hands. I couldn't stand. My right side was shaking uncontrollably.
- 27:36Speaker 1: She was then rushed to emergency surgery, where doctors fused
- 27:39Speaker 1: her skull to her spine.
- 27:41Speaker 2: Whew, the scar kind of fitted out her skull to
- 27:47Speaker 2: her spine, Like wouldn't that Okay? That just doesn't sound right.
- 27:54Speaker 1: Think of it like I'm looking at it sort of
- 27:56Speaker 1: like the compound fracture I had in my arm when
- 27:59Speaker 1: I was fourteen, But it was an internal compound fracture,
- 28:02Speaker 1: meaning it wasn't exposed, The bone didn't come through the skin.
- 28:07Speaker 1: It was a compound fracture. Is a complete break, whether
- 28:12Speaker 1: or not exposed or internal is the additional part. Typically
- 28:15Speaker 1: people think compound fracture, it's sticking through the skin, but
- 28:18Speaker 1: it's a compound fracture, is a complete break. It's kind
- 28:20Speaker 1: of like this. She had a complete break of the
- 28:22Speaker 1: skull from the spine, but it just stayed internal.
- 28:26Speaker 2: But wouldn't that cause im media paralysis from the neck down?
- 28:29Speaker 2: I mean it has to.
- 28:33Speaker 1: She managed to survive this internal decapitation, which carries a
- 28:38Speaker 1: ninety percent fatality rate due to the likelihood that nerve
- 28:42Speaker 1: signals will become damaged between the brain and the body,
- 28:44Speaker 1: leading to paralysis around vital organs, you know, like the
- 28:47Speaker 1: lungs of the heart. She's had a total of thirty
- 28:49Speaker 1: seven surgeries since the accident, leaving her body fused from
- 28:52Speaker 1: her skull to her pelvis and her head unable to
- 28:55Speaker 1: move in any direction. So she's not going to be
- 28:59Speaker 1: any fun out of Metalica concert. That's just me and
- 29:06Speaker 1: on my part. But yeah, it's fuse. Like we've all
- 29:12Speaker 1: like Trey, you have you had any fusion surgeries. No,
- 29:16Speaker 1: I've known a few people that have. I think my
- 29:18Speaker 1: mom just went through one. And it's usually like just
- 29:22Speaker 1: a few vertebrae that will get fused. It typically in
- 29:25Speaker 1: the neck or you know, the lower back. She's fused
- 29:29Speaker 1: one whole piece from the entire spine down all the
- 29:34Speaker 1: way down to the pelvis. She says, she's a human statue.
- 29:40Speaker 1: My spine doesn't move at all. But that doesn't mean,
- 29:43Speaker 1: I've stopped living. Internal decapitations are three times more common
- 29:48Speaker 1: in children in traumatic accidents because their bones are not
- 29:50Speaker 1: fully developed, but in her case, her falling combination with
- 29:54Speaker 1: her head's syndrome sorry, was enough to lead to the injury. Still,
- 29:59Speaker 1: internal decapitations are extremely rare, accounting for less than one
- 30:03Speaker 1: percent of all cervical injuries. That's neck for those that
- 30:06Speaker 1: don't know. That is amazing. Now, she did say again,
- 30:12Speaker 1: she may feel like a statue, but she's not letting
- 30:15Speaker 1: it get in her way. She's still trying to live
- 30:17Speaker 1: her best life despite the internal decapitation. She's returned to
- 30:23Speaker 1: normal hobbies.
- 30:24Speaker 3: Now.
- 30:27Speaker 1: She's returning to normal hobbies that she had before the injury,
- 30:31Speaker 1: including a recent bowling outing. She even said, I bowled
- 30:34Speaker 1: a strike on my very first try. Think about that
- 30:38Speaker 1: the next time you go bowling and that first one
- 30:39Speaker 1: goes right in the gutter. There's a chick that literally
- 30:44Speaker 1: lost her head and got a strike on the first bowl.
- 30:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:48Speaker 2: But if my ball goes in the gutter, at least
- 30:50Speaker 2: I can turn around, turn my head around and look
- 30:52Speaker 2: at you guys and be like, well, well sorry.
- 30:55Speaker 1: Actually that's a good point. If you throw a gutter ball.
- 30:57Speaker 1: You can actually hang your head in shame.
- 31:06Speaker 4: True.
- 31:06Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I'm girl. That's always got your back.
- 31:16Speaker 1: Just imagine the surprise if she ever met the predator
- 31:19Speaker 1: and he ripped that out, be.
- 31:20Speaker 3: Like, hey, look at that.
- 31:20Speaker 1: It's all connected. That's the one for the wall.
- 31:29Speaker 4: You're in the Treehouse.
- 31:34Speaker 5: Listen US online and on air dot com.
- 31:46Speaker 4: You're in the Treehouse.

- 32:13Speaker 1: Treehouse Show. I'm Dan, He's Trey. That is Raj. Today
- 32:17Speaker 1: is Monday, April twenty eight, twenty twenty five. Let's celebrate
- 32:22Speaker 1: with some birthdays. Turning forty four today, the soon to
- 32:27Speaker 1: be single Jessica Alba. Jessica Alba turns forty four today.
- 32:32Speaker 1: She was Max Way Way back on the TV show
- 32:35Speaker 1: Dark Angel. She was Sue Storm in The Fantastic Four
- 32:40Speaker 1: That was twice. She's Nancy and the Sinciti Movies, founder
- 32:44Speaker 1: of The Honest Company, which is a billion dollar business
- 32:47Speaker 1: that makes ethical, non toxic household products. She was also
- 32:51Speaker 1: the co star of Our very own Friend of the
- 32:54Speaker 1: Show and personal friend of all of Us, Tone Bell
- 32:57Speaker 1: in the Netflix movie A What was it called war crime?
- 33:04Speaker 1: Or No, that's not it. That's just that's just how
- 33:06Speaker 1: the movie started. It started with a but they didn't
- 33:09Speaker 1: mean for it to be a war crime, but it
- 33:10Speaker 1: was like it wasn't hard target. That's a Van Damn film.
- 33:13Speaker 1: That's the one where he punches the snake and he
- 33:15Speaker 1: unhails his leg like it's a six shooter.
- 33:19Speaker 2: I can't remember the name.
- 33:20Speaker 4: It was good.
- 33:20Speaker 1: I enjoyed it was Tone, So I keep forgetting to
- 33:23Speaker 1: look for it. I want to watch it because I'm
- 33:25Speaker 1: a huge action movie fan. The one still from the
- 33:31Speaker 1: movie A screenshot is saw from the movie of Jessica
- 33:33Speaker 1: Alba and Tone standing next together in a scene. I
- 33:38Speaker 1: gotta admit Tone looked fairly convincing as a military guy.
- 33:41Speaker 1: He had his flackjacket on, had his thumbs inside the
- 33:43Speaker 1: flat jacket armpits because we love you tone, and he
- 33:47Speaker 1: knows it. He's a little thin up top. He's not
- 33:52Speaker 1: the most convincing physical imposing man. Devastatingly handsome, but not
- 33:58Speaker 1: the most physically intimidating. So seeing him the military garb,
- 34:03Speaker 1: I was like, actually, looks pretty good. Jessica Alba was
- 34:06Speaker 1: standing there in the scene looking like she had to
- 34:07Speaker 1: go tee t But again, I haven't seen the movie,
- 34:10Speaker 1: so I don't know that. ROGI said it was good.
- 34:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I enjoyed it.
- 34:13Speaker 4: He is.
- 34:14Speaker 2: I'm biased because it's my buddy, So yeah, Well.
- 34:18Speaker 3: I started watching that Survival of the Thickest. He is
- 34:20Speaker 3: so good in that.
- 34:22Speaker 1: Oh yeah, he's fantastic that you're right that show. I
- 34:26Speaker 1: watched the first few episodes of season one when it
- 34:29Speaker 1: first came out, and I thought, this show's not really
- 34:32Speaker 1: my cup of tea. But he's really really good at it,
- 34:38Speaker 1: really really good in it. So yeah, I'm with you,
- 34:41Speaker 1: Trey O. Our buddies talented. Was there any like severe
- 34:46Speaker 1: hand to hand combat or gunplay that that tone had
- 34:49Speaker 1: to do in that movie, Raj? Yes, and it was convincing.
- 34:53Speaker 3: Yep.
- 34:53Speaker 1: Who was more convincing at it? Tone or Jessica Alba
- 34:56Speaker 1: Ton good on him. Well, since you two are single
- 35:04Speaker 1: and Jessica Alba's on the way to being single, you
- 35:07Speaker 1: guys only have one degree of separation from a billionaire Hollywood.
- 35:13Speaker 1: You know, CEO, I can be her Billy Ray if
- 35:18Speaker 1: you feel like shooting your shot, Yeah, exactly. If you
- 35:21Speaker 1: want to be the Billy Raider her Elizabeth Hurley, go
- 35:23Speaker 1: for it, you too, You may never have this opportunity again.
- 35:28Speaker 2: One shot.
- 35:29Speaker 1: You're one shot. This is your eminem moment.
- 35:32Speaker 3: Yep.
- 35:33Speaker 1: You You send a text to our buddy Tone and
- 35:35Speaker 1: you say, hey, man, do me a solid mmm for
- 35:41Speaker 1: this happy birthday cat gift to Jessica Alba along with
- 35:45Speaker 1: my number, and see what happened.
- 35:47Speaker 2: Yeah, you guys are going to be stunned when I'm
- 35:52Speaker 2: so I'm dating Justica Alba.
- 35:53Speaker 1: Now you know what a week ago, I would have
- 35:57Speaker 1: been stunned. But after the Billy Race Diris and Elizabeth
- 35:59Speaker 1: her Honestly that to me, Raj, it would absolutely be
- 36:06Speaker 1: less surprising for you to be in a relationship with
- 36:10Speaker 1: Jessica Alba than it was as shocking to me that
- 36:13Speaker 1: Billy Race, Iris and Elizabeth earlier together.
- 36:16Speaker 3: Oh, buddy. Thank you so much. Man.
- 36:17Speaker 1: You're welcome to me. It is sort of a compliment
- 36:20Speaker 1: to you, but it's really a megaslam on Billy Races.

- 37:24Speaker 1: Just a little bit left here for Monday's show. April
- 37:27Speaker 1: twenty eight, twenty twenty five. Trey, what is this that
- 37:30Speaker 1: you just sent me?
- 37:33Speaker 3: Well, you know, if Raj wants to be Jessica Alba's
- 37:37Speaker 3: Billy Ray.
- 37:39Speaker 4: This is.
- 37:41Speaker 3: This is the path to it.
- 37:43Speaker 8: Okay, all right, here we go, the path to Jessica
- 37:51Speaker 8: Alba for our very own ra Sharma.
- 37:53Speaker 1: Oh sweet God.
- 37:57Speaker 9: You can tell thee you novel, what's micro? You can
- 38:01Speaker 9: bumba plutinam.
- 38:02Speaker 4: Gone oh until.
- 38:05Speaker 9: Just water full of films a love and joke about
- 38:08Speaker 9: me on the phone. But don't tell my heart my
- 38:13Speaker 9: hate keep breaking home. I just don't think you understand.
- 38:18Speaker 9: And if you tell my heart my hate, you breaking heart,
- 38:22Speaker 9: he might blow up and kill dance man.
- 38:31Speaker 1: Is this like Malaysian Indonesian achy Breaky cover song? I'm
- 38:36Speaker 1: not even sure if I can say that name. It
- 38:38Speaker 1: looks like one of those typing tests I took in
- 38:41Speaker 1: typing class in high school. Van La chan na mea
- 38:45Speaker 1: raalti achy Breaky Heart.
- 38:49Speaker 2: Is that Filipino?
- 38:51Speaker 1: Maybe Filipino? Maybe let's just call him Van. So this
- 38:57Speaker 1: is Van's cover of achy Breaky Heart, raj. This is
- 39:00Speaker 1: the path that Trey says you need to take to
- 39:03Speaker 1: get at Jessica Alba's heart.
- 39:05Speaker 7: Yes, don't tell my home my ache you breaking home?
- 39:09Speaker 3: I just stm freaky.
- 39:11Speaker 7: You understand if you tell my home my ache, you
- 39:15Speaker 7: break you hot? He might blow up and kill this man.
- 39:22Speaker 7: You can tell the one you never was my girl.
- 39:25Speaker 9: You can bumb my clothes when I'm gone.
- 39:29Speaker 7: You can tell the friends the swall full of fins
- 39:32Speaker 7: and laughing joking about me on the phone. Don't tell
- 39:40Speaker 7: my home my ache, you breaking home?
- 39:42Speaker 2: I just stall freaky.
- 39:44Speaker 7: You understand If you tell my home my ache, you
- 39:48Speaker 7: breaking hot?
- 39:49Speaker 4: He might blow up and kill this man.
- 39:54Speaker 2: I would say they're doing the dance from Thriller.
- 39:58Speaker 1: It does, and it's an interesting choreography they have in
- 40:01Speaker 1: the background. This also looks like an interesting Asian version
- 40:04Speaker 1: of Yellowstone that that's going on here, which is a
- 40:07Speaker 1: really horrible, horrible thing to have said, now that I've realized.
- 40:14Speaker 3: I want a date or not restraining order against me.
- 40:19Speaker 3: They spent some big money on the choreography for this one.
- 40:22Speaker 3: Is that what you call it? Yeah?
- 40:25Speaker 1: They were almost into sync. I mean, at least they're
- 40:29Speaker 1: all standing next to each other somewhat.
- 40:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 40:33Speaker 1: I mean they shot this at like a like a
- 40:35Speaker 1: like a college or a high school stadium, so you
- 40:38Speaker 1: got soccer goals up. There's a track going around the
- 40:41Speaker 1: edge stands, and I think there's actually a game going
- 40:45Speaker 1: on behind them as they're shooting this music video for
- 40:49Speaker 1: an achy Breaky cover song.
- 40:52Speaker 2: It has to be like some sort of like student
- 40:55Speaker 2: project that just went away?
- 40:58Speaker 1: Yeah, does that ever kick in tray? Let's see, let's
- 41:01Speaker 1: let's kip ahead a little bit.
- 41:07Speaker 7: You can tell your mom I'm too works. You can
- 41:10Speaker 7: tell your doctor by my leg stop telling you. Please,
- 41:15Speaker 7: can tell my wings and that would really like me. Yeah,
- 41:18Speaker 7: any ways, don't tell my home can break you home.
- 41:25Speaker 7: I just don't freaking young.
- 41:27Speaker 1: Sta, I don't understand.
