- 0:13Speaker 1: Hello you guys, Welcome back to another episode of the
- 0:16Speaker 1: HOWT Girl Energy Podcast. I'm your host, Kayleie, and this
- 0:18Speaker 1: is your weekly reminder that it's a new day, a
- 0:21Speaker 1: new week, a new mindset, and another day for you
- 0:23Speaker 1: to become the hot girl energy you want to attract.
- 0:25Speaker 1: I feel like it's been so long since I've chatted
- 0:28Speaker 1: with you guys.
- 0:29Speaker 2: I don't know why. It feels like it's.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Been like a month, but it's honestly only been two weeks.
- 0:32Speaker 1: But I don't like how long it's been feeling. But
- 0:36Speaker 1: I miss you, guys, and.
- 0:37Speaker 2: I'm so happy to have a new episode up this week.
- 0:40Speaker 2: We have a lot to go through. I feel like
- 0:42Speaker 2: a lot can happen in two weeks.
- 0:44Speaker 1: I want to chat about some life updates of things
- 0:46Speaker 1: that have happened recently. I want to talk about this
- 0:50Speaker 1: level up for Hawkerel Summer episode. I started a series
- 0:54Speaker 1: about two episodes ago and really wanted to do a
- 0:57Speaker 1: part two basically and just kind of talk about how
- 0:59Speaker 1: we're going to level up for Hawk Girl Summer. So
- 1:01Speaker 1: before we get into today's episode, let's do some life updates.
- 1:04Speaker 2: I definitely have a big.
- 1:06Speaker 1: One that has been a huge shock to myself and
- 1:10Speaker 1: my family, and definitely was not something we were expecting
- 1:13Speaker 1: to have to honestly go through this summer. But my
- 1:16Speaker 1: dad recently found out that he needs a triple bypass surgery,
- 1:21Speaker 1: which is a heart surgery, and it's.
- 1:24Speaker 2: A pretty intense surgery. Guys.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Like I was really really shocked when my dad told
- 1:28Speaker 1: me that he was going to need this, and it's
- 1:31Speaker 1: a pretty intense recovery. Like I'm talking probably two months
- 1:36Speaker 1: of being bedridden, especially like in the summer.
- 1:39Speaker 2: That's like not the ideal situation.
- 1:41Speaker 1: I think he's pretty disappointed and upset that he's going
- 1:46Speaker 1: to have to like honestly not be able to swim,
- 1:48Speaker 1: not be able to do things for like all of
- 1:50Speaker 1: July and August. We don't have a surgery date yet,
- 1:55Speaker 1: but we're pretty certain it's going to be end of
- 1:58Speaker 1: July or mid July.
- 2:01Speaker 2: And yeah, it's honestly like a blessing in.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Disguise, but also like I feel for him so much,
- 2:08Speaker 1: Like my dad was going into this thinking that, you know,
- 2:12Speaker 1: we're just doing a checkup and things are going to
- 2:14Speaker 1: be great, Like he wasn't thinking it was obviously going
- 2:16Speaker 1: to end up this way.
- 2:17Speaker 2: I don't think anybody wants to think that way.
- 2:19Speaker 1: But my dad really decided to focus on his health
- 2:21Speaker 1: this year. And my dad's not like the healthiest person
- 2:24Speaker 1: in the world, I'll be fully honest.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Like he works out a lot. He tries to eat healthy.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Would I say he eats healthy? Not in my definition,
- 2:31Speaker 1: but he tries, and I don't know. I feel like
- 2:35Speaker 1: he just like flipped a switch this year of like, oh,
- 2:38Speaker 1: I really got to invest in my health I really
- 2:39Speaker 1: got to go to my doctor's appointments, you know, get
- 2:42Speaker 1: things checked out all that.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Because my dad lost his dad.
- 2:45Speaker 1: And his sister both last year, so he made it
- 2:50Speaker 1: a non negotiable this year to like really focus on
- 2:52Speaker 1: his health and like get the appointments done and all that.
- 2:55Speaker 2: So one of them being.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Was his heart because my papa has had two heart
- 2:59Speaker 1: attacks and my dad wanted to see if he carried
- 3:02Speaker 1: the same gene as his dad, and unfortunately he did.
- 3:07Speaker 1: So we're essentially just like waiting to hear from the
- 3:09Speaker 1: surgeon about when he's going to need this hurt surgery.
- 3:13Speaker 1: It kind of is supposed to line up with my
- 3:16Speaker 1: Portugal trip, which I don't think we're going to Portugal anymore,
- 3:20Speaker 1: which I'm a little disappointed about, but obviously like family first,
- 3:24Speaker 1: health first, like everything first over all that, and like,
- 3:28Speaker 1: sure it sucks, but hey, there's next summer, there's the
- 3:31Speaker 1: following summer. Like It's not something I'm trying to be
- 3:33Speaker 1: disappointed about because I'm like, I'd rather my dad just
- 3:36Speaker 1: have this surgery, be healthy, help my mom out where
- 3:40Speaker 1: I can to like support my dad with him being
- 3:43Speaker 1: obviously out for two months, and just like, yeah, being
- 3:46Speaker 1: there for my family. I think that's like the one
- 3:49Speaker 1: thing that's like a non negotiable right now, and that's
- 3:51Speaker 1: all I care about is my dad being healthy and
- 3:54Speaker 1: getting out of this. And you know, we have so
- 3:56Speaker 1: many other summers to like do fun things, go traveling.
- 4:00Speaker 1: So for me, I'm like, yeah, sure, I'm disappointed, but
- 4:03Speaker 1: I'm also not because I'm like, I'm just so happy
- 4:05Speaker 1: they caught this when they did, and I'm happy that
- 4:08Speaker 1: they're going to be able to do the surgery, and
- 4:10Speaker 1: I'm praying that he'll come out healthy and even stronger
- 4:13Speaker 1: than ever and hopefully lived till one hundred that would
- 4:16Speaker 1: be great. So anyways, that's obviously been a bit of
- 4:19Speaker 1: a life update with me and just kind of a shock.
- 4:22Speaker 2: To my family.
- 4:23Speaker 1: My dad has one brother left in his family, and
- 4:26Speaker 1: his brother is now actually going to get tested for
- 4:30Speaker 1: this whole heart situation because he's concerned that he might
- 4:33Speaker 1: now have it as well. So just kind of like
- 4:36Speaker 1: a scary thing for my family, and I hate that
- 4:38Speaker 1: they're going through this like him, my dad obviously, and
- 4:41Speaker 1: then potentially my uncle as well.
- 4:43Speaker 2: But we're just really trying to say positive.
- 4:45Speaker 1: I've had so many dms since I shared it on
- 4:48Speaker 1: Instagram of people who have either had similar situations of
- 4:51Speaker 1: their parents going through it, like a similar surgery, whether
- 4:55Speaker 1: it was quadruple or triple bypass surgery. I also had
- 4:59Speaker 1: people who are to work at the Hearts Institute and
- 5:01Speaker 1: Autawa reached out to me, which was really really nice,
- 5:04Speaker 1: kind of giving me some reassurance of like, we have
- 5:07Speaker 1: the best surgeons here and that your dad's in the
- 5:09Speaker 1: best hands possible. So I really really appreciate anyone who
- 5:12Speaker 1: did message me and just gave me some positive stories
- 5:16Speaker 1: or just some positive vibes in general, because it really
- 5:19Speaker 1: did make me feel a lot better.
- 5:21Speaker 2: And it's definitely not something I like.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Planned on sharing, but I kind of was like, you
- 5:25Speaker 1: know what, this is my personal life, like I do
- 5:27Speaker 1: share my life on the internet, and I honestly just
- 5:30Speaker 1: wanted people to think and keep my dad in their
- 5:33Speaker 1: prayers for this very scary journey in his life and
- 5:38Speaker 1: like surgery that he's about to go through.
- 5:39Speaker 2: So anyways, we'll keep you guys updated on that.
- 5:42Speaker 1: But that's what happened honestly these past two weeks of
- 5:45Speaker 1: just getting some news about that. Other than that, I
- 5:48Speaker 1: feel like I've been living in house updates, house appointments.
- 5:51Speaker 1: We literally move into our house in like sixty five days,
- 5:54Speaker 1: which is so freaking crazy, guys.
- 5:57Speaker 2: There's been a lot.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Of behind the scenes of just kind of like yeah,
- 6:00Speaker 1: obviously getting work done, but also like doing stuff at
- 6:03Speaker 1: the house, meeting with my designers, figuring out deposits that
- 6:06Speaker 1: I have to pay, like picking out things for the house,
- 6:10Speaker 1: like the countertop stuff. Like we had to go to
- 6:13Speaker 1: a countertop appointment today where we were doing the slab viewing.
- 6:17Speaker 1: So I picked up the countertops back in November. But
- 6:20Speaker 1: they can like show us different slabs and we can
- 6:22Speaker 1: like pick parts of where they can cut the slab
- 6:25Speaker 1: and like where we want it to be in the kitchen.
- 6:27Speaker 1: So it's like there was this one slab that I
- 6:29Speaker 1: was obsessed with, and I'm like, yeah, put that on
- 6:31Speaker 1: the kitchen island.
- 6:32Speaker 2: This one put you know, in the pantry all that.
- 6:35Speaker 1: So we were able to like really pick out everything
- 6:38Speaker 1: of where it was supposed to be for the countertops
- 6:41Speaker 1: and yeah. So anyways, just like appointments like that that
- 6:43Speaker 1: obviously take some time out of my day driving to
- 6:46Speaker 1: these places all that. So I just feel like my
- 6:48Speaker 1: life right now has been work house stuff, work house stuff,
- 6:52Speaker 1: being with family, trying to prioritize being with my parents
- 6:55Speaker 1: a lot. So it's been an interesting past few weeks.
- 6:57Speaker 1: But honestly, I'm so excited for the new house and
- 7:00Speaker 1: I can't wait to share some more videos around that. Also, randomly,
- 7:04Speaker 1: Zach and I went to go see a movie last week.
- 7:06Speaker 2: And I love going to the movie theaters, Like.
- 7:08Speaker 1: That's something that I really really enjoyed doing, and Zach
- 7:11Speaker 1: and I haven't been to the movie theaters together in
- 7:13Speaker 1: such a long time.
- 7:14Speaker 2: I went to go see The Devil Where's Prada? Movie two?
- 7:17Speaker 2: Back in I think it was April with my friends
- 7:20Speaker 2: or was it May? I think it was me maybe
- 7:21Speaker 2: it was me.
- 7:22Speaker 1: I can't remember when the movie came out but I
- 7:24Speaker 1: went to go see it with my friends, which was
- 7:26Speaker 1: really fun.
- 7:26Speaker 2: But Zach and I have him be into the.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Movies together in like a year, and this movie that
- 7:31Speaker 1: I saw everyone talk about on TikTok called Obsession. Everyone
- 7:35Speaker 1: was raving about it. They said it was the best
- 7:36Speaker 1: horror movie they ever seen. Zach and I used to
- 7:38Speaker 1: be obsessed with horror movies growing up, so I felt
- 7:41Speaker 1: like we had to go see it because I'm like,
- 7:42Speaker 1: we haven't seen a good horror movie in a really
- 7:44Speaker 1: long time. Yes, I get creeped out, I will be
- 7:47Speaker 1: fully honest. I had nightmares after watching it. But the
- 7:51Speaker 1: storyline was actually really good, and I feel like horror
- 7:54Speaker 1: movies that have a good storyline are actually really really good.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Before we saw this movie, I saw people talk about
- 8:01Speaker 1: how high the Rotten Tomato score was, and I know
- 8:05Speaker 1: from previous horror movies that I've seen, typically horror movies
- 8:08Speaker 1: don't have good Rotten Tomato scores, Like typically it's like
- 8:10Speaker 1: fifty to sixty.
- 8:11Speaker 2: They're never usually that good.
- 8:13Speaker 1: This one had a ninety six percent Rotten Tomato score,
- 8:15Speaker 1: So I'm like, Okay, clearly this is a good movie,
- 8:17Speaker 1: Like we need to go see it. So we went
- 8:20Speaker 1: to go see it. It was absolutely terrifying. I was
- 8:23Speaker 1: so freaking scared, But it also had such a great
- 8:26Speaker 1: storyline that I was obsessed with watching it because I
- 8:30Speaker 1: thought it was so interesting how this girl was just
- 8:33Speaker 1: so obsessed with this guy, and this guy obviously makes
- 8:36Speaker 1: a wish and like wishes that she becomes obsessed with him,
- 8:39Speaker 1: and then she's obsessed with him, but it's like a
- 8:41Speaker 1: creepy obsessive to the point where like she's being possessed
- 8:44Speaker 1: by something.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Anyways, kind of crazy, but.
- 8:47Speaker 1: Really really good twists at the end, really good movie
- 8:49Speaker 1: in general, So highly recommend if you're into that type
- 8:52Speaker 1: of stuff. Everybody was talking about on TikTok and it
- 8:55Speaker 1: was really really good. After we saw the movie, I
- 8:57Speaker 1: saw even more tiktoks about the movie, but more so
- 9:00Speaker 1: out like how much money they put into the movie,
- 9:02Speaker 1: how much they've made kind of like the story behind
- 9:04Speaker 1: the director as well. And the director wasn't actually a
- 9:07Speaker 1: big director. He only put a million dollars into the movie,
- 9:11Speaker 1: which is really not that much when it comes to
- 9:13Speaker 1: like the editing that needs to go into a movie,
- 9:16Speaker 1: you know, hiring actors obviously, like having like a hair
- 9:20Speaker 1: and makeup team all that, like a studio to film
- 9:24Speaker 1: things obviously, like that's expensive. They ended up making one
- 9:27Speaker 1: hundred million dollars from the movie, and the director ended
- 9:30Speaker 1: up editing the entire movie himself in two years. I
- 9:34Speaker 1: think he recorded the movie back in twenty twenty four
- 9:37Speaker 1: and he edited the entire thing himself, and he also
- 9:41Speaker 1: edited everything from his bedroom. Like that's what I'm talking
- 9:46Speaker 1: about when you're starting from the bottom. And now he's
- 9:48Speaker 1: here making one hundred million dollars from his newest movie, Obsession.
- 9:52Speaker 1: And apparently there's a sequel coming out based off of
- 9:55Speaker 1: what happened at the end of the movie. But kind
- 9:58Speaker 1: of crazy how this guy edited the this entire movie
- 10:00Speaker 1: himself in his bedroom, took him two years to do it,
- 10:04Speaker 1: and he did it with such a small budget and
- 10:06Speaker 1: made so much money, and I think he ended up
- 10:09Speaker 1: getting another movie deal for.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Like ten million, I want to say.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Anyways, again, I'm learning all this from TikTok just from
- 10:16Speaker 1: like again being really invested in this movie. But the
- 10:20Speaker 1: story behind the director and all that and like just
- 10:23Speaker 1: his plans for this Obsession movie is quite interesting to me.
- 10:27Speaker 2: So anyways, check it out if you're into that kind
- 10:29Speaker 2: of stuff.
- 10:30Speaker 1: But I was quite impressed with how he was able
- 10:34Speaker 1: to do all that for a movie that just did
- 10:36Speaker 1: so well and just so many people are.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Talking about it. Let's get into this episode.
- 10:40Speaker 1: I started an episode series called leveling Up for Hawkirl Summer.
- 10:44Speaker 1: The first episode we really talked about self care and
- 10:47Speaker 1: non negotiables, things that I just think were non negotiable
- 10:50Speaker 1: personally when it comes to like habits and self care,
- 10:53Speaker 1: things that honestly make me feel hot or hotter or
- 10:56Speaker 1: just like kind of feels like a bit of a
- 10:58Speaker 1: glow up in a sense. This episode, I really want
- 11:00Speaker 1: to talk about kind of like your five step plan
- 11:04Speaker 1: of how you're going to have the best summer ever?
- 11:05Speaker 2: Like what are we going to do to achieve that?
- 11:08Speaker 1: And I think there's some steps behind that, and we're
- 11:11Speaker 1: going to kind of share a plan of how you're
- 11:14Speaker 1: going to do that. First step is creating a summer brand.
- 11:18Speaker 1: So how do you envision yourself being for the summer season,
- 11:22Speaker 1: Like do you have a pintress account. I always talk
- 11:25Speaker 1: about Pinterress, you guys know. I always talk about like
- 11:27Speaker 1: vision boards and imaging I personally find for me when
- 11:30Speaker 1: I like want to envision something for myself, whether it's
- 11:32Speaker 1: a season or entering a new season of life. When
- 11:35Speaker 1: it comes to like my job or you know, my
- 11:39Speaker 1: future for parenthood and motherhood and all that, like you
- 11:41Speaker 1: know what I mean, Like I constantly save images of
- 11:44Speaker 1: how I envision things for myself. That's just something I've
- 11:47Speaker 1: always done and I do think visuals really help you.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Kind of embed that in your mind and motivate yourself
- 11:54Speaker 2: to live this life that you want to become.
- 11:57Speaker 1: So, for example, my house, I had like a very
- 12:00Speaker 1: specific image of like how I wanted my house to
- 12:03Speaker 1: look like, and now here I am with my husband
- 12:05Speaker 1: building this house, and a lot of these images from
- 12:08Speaker 1: Pinterest have been my inspiration for the design of the house,
- 12:11Speaker 1: the visuals all that. But again, using Pinterest, using the
- 12:15Speaker 1: visuals are helping me to really create this persona and
- 12:20Speaker 1: vision that I have for myself. So when it comes
- 12:24Speaker 1: to how you envision your summer and your summer brand,
- 12:28Speaker 1: get yourself on Pinterest, Start creating a vision board or
- 12:31Speaker 1: a little mood board for yourself on Pinterest and envision
- 12:34Speaker 1: how you want to see yourself this summer. Do you
- 12:37Speaker 1: want to be the girl that's constantly traveling, going to Europe,
- 12:40Speaker 1: going to all these spots, having weekend trips with friends,
- 12:43Speaker 1: like or are you that kind of girl that wants
- 12:45Speaker 1: to master your routine and really lock in for your
- 12:49Speaker 1: health and trying out different workouts. Are you that kind
- 12:52Speaker 1: of person that wants to join a marathon or train
- 12:55Speaker 1: for a marathon, or you know, create some workout challenge
- 12:59Speaker 1: for yourself you want to work towards. This is basically
- 13:02Speaker 1: like creating a mini vision board for yourself and just
- 13:05Speaker 1: kind of envisioning your summer season and how you plan
- 13:08Speaker 1: on doing so. So essentially, it's kind of like a
- 13:11Speaker 1: mini way of like creating goals for yourself through images.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Again, is it euro summer? Is it buying a house?
- 13:17Speaker 1: Maybe you and your boyfriend have been wanting to save
- 13:19Speaker 1: to put money towards a house. Okay, this is the
- 13:22Speaker 1: summer that you're going to start going house hunting with
- 13:24Speaker 1: a real estate agent and find your dream house. Or
- 13:27Speaker 1: is it the summer where you plan on saving money
- 13:29Speaker 1: and you're like, Nope, I don't want to do all
- 13:31Speaker 1: those things.
- 13:31Speaker 2: I just want to work my butt off.
- 13:33Speaker 1: I want to make all this money and like just
- 13:35Speaker 1: kind of save my weekends for like fun little things
- 13:37Speaker 1: with my friends locally, but you're like locking in to
- 13:40Speaker 1: save money. That way, next summer you could buy that
- 13:43Speaker 1: house that you've been buying, or you can buy that
- 13:45Speaker 1: car or you've been wanting. Right, Like, everybody has a
- 13:48Speaker 1: different version of how they see themselves this summer, and
- 13:50Speaker 1: it could be like work, health, financial situation, or it
- 13:55Speaker 1: could be like travel, making memories, creating moments with your friends.
- 13:59Speaker 2: Like it just really depends on how you see yourself
- 14:03Speaker 2: this summer.
- 14:03Speaker 1: So the first step is really creating the summer brand
- 14:06Speaker 1: for yourself and how you envision your summer season looking like.
- 14:09Speaker 1: The second step is your summer reset. So what are
- 14:13Speaker 1: we going to stop doing? What are we going to do.
- 14:16Speaker 2: For the summer?
- 14:17Speaker 1: Are there habits that you want to get into, and
- 14:20Speaker 1: then what are your goals that you're setting for yourself
- 14:22Speaker 1: this summer. So let's start off with what are we
- 14:25Speaker 1: going to stop doing? Because I feel like everybody has
- 14:28Speaker 1: bad habits that they're trying to break and maybe your
- 14:32Speaker 1: goal is to have all those bad habits that you've
- 14:35Speaker 1: been doing to not happen by the end of the summer.
- 14:37Speaker 2: Like your goal is to break out of those.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Bad habits by the end of August. So it could
- 14:42Speaker 1: be you know, the motivation you've been feeling. Maybe you're
- 14:45Speaker 1: that kind of person where you say, oh, i'll start Monday,
- 14:49Speaker 1: or oh, I'll start when I feel ready, or oh,
- 14:52Speaker 1: I'll do this you know, worked out.
- 14:54Speaker 2: Challenge when I get home after my vacation.
- 14:56Speaker 1: So we need to stop waiting for the motivation and
- 14:59Speaker 1: just do it, Like we need to just stop thinking
- 15:02Speaker 1: that it's gonna come to us eventually and that oh,
- 15:05Speaker 1: eventually I'll feel motivated. On Monday, I'm gonna feel motivated
- 15:08Speaker 1: and I'll start doing this. Like you have to just
- 15:10Speaker 1: begin and just do it and not think about the future, right,
- 15:15Speaker 1: Like you just got to start now and do whatever
- 15:19Speaker 1: you want to do for yourself, whether again it's like
- 15:21Speaker 1: working out, eating healthy, planning a trip, whatever it is, like,
- 15:25Speaker 1: just do it. Another bad habit that I think people
- 15:27Speaker 1: typically do too, is they just quit after one day,
- 15:31Speaker 1: like oh I woke up and I missed my workout, Okay,
- 15:33Speaker 1: well that means I can't work out for the rest
- 15:35Speaker 1: of the week, or oh I ate so bad today,
- 15:38Speaker 1: so off looks like I'm gonna have to be unhealthy
- 15:40Speaker 1: for the entire week.
- 15:42Speaker 2: Like, no, we're not.
- 15:43Speaker 1: Gonna make that assumption that because we didn't work out
- 15:47Speaker 1: all week, or because we you know, had a bad
- 15:50Speaker 1: day where we just ate a bunch of junk food
- 15:52Speaker 1: and take out, we didn't cook any home cooked meals,
- 15:55Speaker 1: so oh, it just means that we're gonna have a
- 15:57Speaker 1: bad week. Like we can't have that mindset. We've always
- 16:00Speaker 1: talked about it here in the podcast where it's like
- 16:01Speaker 1: you really need to shift your mindset and not assume
- 16:05Speaker 1: that having this one bad day is going to ruin
- 16:08Speaker 1: your progress, Like you just need to move past it
- 16:10Speaker 1: and just like remember your why, Like why are you
- 16:13Speaker 1: eating healthy? Why are you working out on a daily basis? Okay,
- 16:17Speaker 1: it's because of this reason. So it's never about the
- 16:21Speaker 1: one day that you feel like is going to ruin it,
- 16:23Speaker 1: because that's just not the reality.
- 16:25Speaker 2: The reality is.
- 16:26Speaker 1: Of being consistent and continuing to motivate yourself to reach
- 16:29Speaker 1: those goals for yourself. So don't let having one bad
- 16:33Speaker 1: day really affect you for the rest of the week
- 16:35Speaker 1: or for the rest of the month. Like you just
- 16:37Speaker 1: got to stick to it and again talk to yourself,
- 16:40Speaker 1: create that positive self talk, create that mindset shift all
- 16:43Speaker 1: that I feel like all the things I've really talked
- 16:45Speaker 1: about on this podcast is really about that, where it
- 16:48Speaker 1: just it's multiple things that you could do for yourself
- 16:50Speaker 1: to allow yourself to have that good week or have
- 16:53Speaker 1: that good month and not let that one bad day
- 16:55Speaker 1: affect you for the entire week or the entire month.
- 16:58Speaker 1: I would say my bad habit, and I feel like
- 17:00Speaker 1: this is a habit that most people probably have as well,
- 17:03Speaker 1: is I'm very bad at comparing myself to other people.
- 17:06Speaker 1: And I think that's a very common habit that people
- 17:09Speaker 1: probably could relate to. And I'm very proud of.
- 17:12Speaker 2: The life that I feel for myself. Okay, it's not
- 17:14Speaker 2: like I'm not proud of that.
- 17:15Speaker 1: I just think we all are probably proud of things
- 17:17Speaker 1: that we've done for ourself and the jobs that we've had,
- 17:20Speaker 1: the memories we've created, the people that we surround ourself with.
- 17:23Speaker 1: But you know, sometimes there's people that you see online
- 17:26Speaker 1: or people that you might be friends with, and you
- 17:27Speaker 1: might be like, oh, like you compare yourself to that
- 17:30Speaker 1: person and you just feel like a little bit of
- 17:32Speaker 1: jealousy over it. Right, So it's like you need to
- 17:34Speaker 1: ask yourself, why are you jealous of this person? What
- 17:37Speaker 1: does this person have? That you don't have that you
- 17:39Speaker 1: may want, right and if anything, this should be your motivation.
- 17:43Speaker 1: You'd need to figure out, Okay, what is this one
- 17:45Speaker 1: thing that I'm jealous of? What is this one thing
- 17:47Speaker 1: that this person has that I don't have. It's like
- 17:49Speaker 1: almost use this as your motivation then, because at the
- 17:51Speaker 1: end of the day, you could make anything happen. You
- 17:54Speaker 1: need to shift your mindset of like, Okay, well I'm
- 17:56Speaker 1: going to be that person because those are things that
- 17:58Speaker 1: I want for myself. I going to do in my
- 18:00Speaker 1: life to make that happen. Right.
- 18:02Speaker 2: So it's all about the motivation.
- 18:04Speaker 1: It's all about telling yourself that you can make anything
- 18:07Speaker 1: happen and not let these people think that they're better
- 18:11Speaker 1: than you because you could be that person.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Right. So, not comparing is something that I feel like
- 18:16Speaker 2: I continuously try to work on, and I think that's
- 18:19Speaker 2: something I feel like everybody.
- 18:20Speaker 1: May do once or twice in their life, and it
- 18:24Speaker 1: could be a season in your life. It might not
- 18:26Speaker 1: be all the time, but it could just be something
- 18:28Speaker 1: that fluctuates throughout your life where you kind of compare yourself. Right.
- 18:31Speaker 2: So, I feel like it's a bad habit that I
- 18:34Speaker 2: want to work on.
- 18:34Speaker 1: But yeah, those are just some examples of bad habits
- 18:36Speaker 1: of what you could stop doing and maybe, you know,
- 18:40Speaker 1: create a plan of how you're going to stop doing
- 18:42Speaker 1: that by the end of the summer. Another thing is
- 18:44Speaker 1: what habits do you plan on doing this summer. We've
- 18:47Speaker 1: chat about some of your non negotiables that we did
- 18:49Speaker 1: in the previous episode of just things that I plan
- 18:51Speaker 1: on doing for the summer, just some like non negotiable habits.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Some of the things I talked about was, you know,
- 18:57Speaker 1: making date night a priority.
- 18:59Speaker 2: You know, going on a once a week outside.
- 19:01Speaker 1: I don't typically run, so running is something that I've
- 19:04Speaker 1: recently got back into and I've been really enjoying it.
- 19:06Speaker 2: So I'm making it a non negotiable.
- 19:08Speaker 1: To make this a habit for myself and to start
- 19:11Speaker 1: running again.
- 19:12Speaker 2: Right, So, finding habits.
- 19:14Speaker 1: That you want for the summer that are all like
- 19:18Speaker 1: intentional and again, it could be small things, it could
- 19:20Speaker 1: be big things. It could be like journaling, it could
- 19:23Speaker 1: be meditating, it could be anything, honestly, but it's all
- 19:26Speaker 1: to kind of lead you to the person that you
- 19:29Speaker 1: want to become this summer. And then obviously, of course
- 19:31Speaker 1: having these big goals for yourself like what are the
- 19:34Speaker 1: big goals that.
- 19:34Speaker 2: You want to do this summer.
- 19:36Speaker 1: And that's kind of what I wanted to talk about here,
- 19:38Speaker 1: which is creating a summer bucket list for yourself, because
- 19:41Speaker 1: I think a summer bucket list is essentially mini goals
- 19:44Speaker 1: for yourself, right. It's not like all about how you
- 19:47Speaker 1: physically look or how you're mentally feeling. It doesn't always
- 19:50Speaker 1: have to be health related. It could be fun things
- 19:52Speaker 1: that you've wanted to do for the summer. And I
- 19:55Speaker 1: feel like summer is that season where I feel like
- 19:58Speaker 1: it always goes by so fast, and I think we
- 20:01Speaker 1: all just want to like maximize the time and enjoy
- 20:04Speaker 1: every bit of summer for what we have, which is
- 20:06Speaker 1: literally only three months here basically, and so we all
- 20:10Speaker 1: want to actually make these things happen that we're telling yourself, Right,
- 20:13Speaker 1: So it's like, okay, yeah, I may say these things,
- 20:16Speaker 1: but it's like if you're not actually executing it and
- 20:18Speaker 1: doing it, they're not going to happen.
- 20:20Speaker 2: So writing out a list kind.
- 20:22Speaker 1: Of motivates yourself to actually want to do these things.
- 20:25Speaker 1: I have like ten things here that I'll just like
- 20:27Speaker 1: randomly list of things that I want to do this
- 20:29Speaker 1: summer that are on my essentially non negotiables for things
- 20:32Speaker 1: that I want to do, one of them being I
- 20:35Speaker 1: have a goal of reading two books this summer. I
- 20:37Speaker 1: really want to start the Off Campus Book series. I
- 20:40Speaker 1: think it's one about Dean Nelly. So I really want
- 20:42Speaker 1: to read that second book that is part of the
- 20:45Speaker 1: Off Campus Book series. And then if anybody else has
- 20:48Speaker 1: any good book recommendations that they would recommend to read
- 20:51Speaker 1: this summer, let me know.
- 20:53Speaker 2: I was thinking Housemaid Too.
- 20:55Speaker 1: I started Housemaid Too when I was in Costa Rica,
- 20:58Speaker 1: and I think I only read like the first few
- 21:00Speaker 1: chapters because I read a different book as well on
- 21:04Speaker 1: that trip, so I got through one book and a
- 21:06Speaker 1: half basically, So I don't know. I feel like I
- 21:08Speaker 1: need to like start from the beginning though, because I
- 21:10Speaker 1: can't really remember what.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Was happening in the Housemaide Too book.
- 21:13Speaker 1: But they're coming out with another movie, so I figured
- 21:16Speaker 1: I might start that. And Zach actually got me a
- 21:19Speaker 1: Kindle for Christmas, which I love the Kindle so much.
- 21:22Speaker 1: I feel like it's been a game changer for reading.
- 21:25Speaker 1: And also like when you're outside and all that, I
- 21:26Speaker 1: feel like I can still see the screen.
- 21:28Speaker 2: And I don't know.
- 21:29Speaker 1: I love my kindle, so my goal is to definitely
- 21:32Speaker 1: read two books this summer. I want to go on
- 21:34Speaker 1: weekly rollerblade nights. I think I told you guys that
- 21:37Speaker 1: Zach and I ordered rollerblades off Amazon. This is something
- 21:40Speaker 1: that I used to do as a kid with my
- 21:42Speaker 1: parents and with my friends, and I feel like it's
- 21:45Speaker 1: just like me reliving my childhood a bit, so I
- 21:48Speaker 1: definitely want to do that.
- 21:50Speaker 2: I want to run once a week.
- 21:51Speaker 1: I want to start some lessons, so I'm between tennis
- 21:54Speaker 1: lessons or golf lessons. I think my sister's going to
- 21:56Speaker 1: do it with me too, so we both have been
- 21:58Speaker 1: like just like searching lessons and figuring out which one
- 22:02Speaker 1: we're going to do.
- 22:02Speaker 2: I want to have weekend trips. I want to go
- 22:05Speaker 2: to cottage weekends.
- 22:06Speaker 1: I want to visit my favorite patios on date nights
- 22:09Speaker 1: with my husband and my friends. There's a few good
- 22:12Speaker 1: patio spots that I just love to go visit in
- 22:15Speaker 1: the summer. One of them is actually a winery, and
- 22:18Speaker 1: it's such a beautiful winery and I love to go
- 22:20Speaker 1: to it. They have really good food and just like
- 22:22Speaker 1: the vibes are really good as well.
- 22:24Speaker 2: Usually there's live music, and then there's this new.
- 22:28Speaker 1: Cider farm that just opened up not too long ago
- 22:31Speaker 1: and I haven't been to it yet, but again, has
- 22:33Speaker 1: really good food, really good vibes, really good ciders, and.
- 22:37Speaker 2: Yeah, it was just on my bucket list of things
- 22:39Speaker 2: to do this summer.
- 22:40Speaker 1: Anyways, Just visiting my favorite patios I think is so
- 22:42Speaker 1: fun to do in the summer, especially because we don't
- 22:45Speaker 1: get patio season after the summer. I feel like once
- 22:48Speaker 1: ball hits, everything's closed and everything's indoors, So definitely want
- 22:51Speaker 1: to make it a non negotiable to hit up those
- 22:53Speaker 1: patios for patio season. Of course, I want a lot
- 22:56Speaker 1: of pool days in my parents' backyard. Spending time with
- 22:58Speaker 1: my family and parents in the backyard, I think is
- 23:01Speaker 1: definitely something I want to do now.
- 23:03Speaker 2: That my dad's also you know, not going to be
- 23:06Speaker 2: in the best shape.
- 23:07Speaker 1: I want to be at home and just kind of
- 23:09Speaker 1: help out where I can, and just spending a lot
- 23:12Speaker 1: of time with my family is like one non negotiable
- 23:14Speaker 1: for me this summer. Having bondfires in the backyard I
- 23:17Speaker 1: think is a non negotiable. And then obviously just going
- 23:20Speaker 1: on as many summer walks as I can because you
- 23:22Speaker 1: guys know how much I love being outside and just
- 23:25Speaker 1: enjoying the outdoors. So that's like a very small list
- 23:29Speaker 1: of like my bucket list for the summer. But I
- 23:31Speaker 1: think this is the time now to really go through
- 23:34Speaker 1: your Pinterest images figure out these habits and things that
- 23:37Speaker 1: you want to set goals for yourself for the summer season.
- 23:41Speaker 1: You really want to just create that mindset of like, Okay,
- 23:43Speaker 1: what am I going to do these next two to
- 23:45Speaker 1: three months of the summer season. How can I maximize it?
- 23:48Speaker 1: What can I do? What are fun things that I've
- 23:50Speaker 1: talked about doing. What are things on my vision board
- 23:52Speaker 1: slash summer mood board that I created on Pinterest of
- 23:55Speaker 1: how I envision my summer to look like. So definitely
- 23:59Speaker 1: create a bucket list. I think it creates some excitement
- 24:01Speaker 1: around summer. It allows you to actually like want to
- 24:04Speaker 1: make plans and motivate yourself to do fun things with
- 24:06Speaker 1: your friends and family. And yeah, I think it's just
- 24:10Speaker 1: a non negotiable to do. So once you've done your
- 24:11Speaker 1: bucket list and you've done you know, your habits and
- 24:15Speaker 1: all that that you want to do for this summer,
- 24:17Speaker 1: this is where.
- 24:18Speaker 2: You can kind of review your goals and figure out
- 24:20Speaker 2: how you're going to achieve these things.
- 24:22Speaker 1: So obviously one of them being I want to read
- 24:24Speaker 1: two books. Okay, how are we going to make that happen?
- 24:26Speaker 1: I need to start reading fifteen pages a day.
- 24:29Speaker 2: Okay.
- 24:30Speaker 1: If you're someone that wants to work out more this summer,
- 24:33Speaker 1: how are you going to do that? Okay, You're going
- 24:34Speaker 1: to need to start, you know, finding days, maybe on
- 24:37Speaker 1: Sunday or Monday, and set a realistic workout schedule for
- 24:42Speaker 1: yourself where you're going to you know, work out maybe
- 24:44Speaker 1: three times a week this week, and you want to
- 24:46Speaker 1: have at least thirty minute workouts in the morning. Let's say, well,
- 24:50Speaker 1: you don't need to book a workout class. You could
- 24:52Speaker 1: do things from home. You could go on YouTube and
- 24:54Speaker 1: find a thirty minute workout on YouTube.
- 24:56Speaker 2: Like, there's so many.
- 24:57Speaker 1: Great workouts that you could do literally just through YouTube,
- 25:00Speaker 1: not need to pay all as money to go to
- 25:01Speaker 1: a class. Or if you're like me who likes to
- 25:04Speaker 1: go to workout classes, find time throughout your week. Can
- 25:06Speaker 1: you go on your lunch break, can you go in
- 25:08Speaker 1: the evening? Like, if it's your goal to work out more,
- 25:11Speaker 1: then you're gonna make it a non negotiable that you're
- 25:14Speaker 1: gonna spend one night a week or one morning a
- 25:17Speaker 1: week of planning out your entire week when it comes
- 25:21Speaker 1: to workouts and be able to actually achieve that goal
- 25:24Speaker 1: for yourself.
- 25:25Speaker 2: And then lastly is becoming the main character of your
- 25:28Speaker 2: own life.
- 25:28Speaker 1: So this is really just supposed to motivate yourself in
- 25:32Speaker 1: general about how we actually going to make these things happen.
- 25:35Speaker 1: We're going to take initiative and actually make these summer
- 25:38Speaker 1: things happen. We're going to try new experiences. We're going
- 25:41Speaker 1: to create more memories for ourselves. We're gonna meet new people.
- 25:45Speaker 1: We're gonna say yes.
- 25:45Speaker 2: To things like we're done saying no unless.
- 25:48Speaker 1: You actually don't want to go. We're not gonna have
- 25:50Speaker 1: FOMO if it was something that we didn't want to do.
- 25:51Speaker 1: We're gonna say yes to things that we actually want
- 25:53Speaker 1: to do. I really want to go to a concert
- 25:57Speaker 1: that is happening in July.
- 25:59Speaker 2: I'm gonna say yes to that because I really really
- 26:01Speaker 2: want to go.
- 26:02Speaker 1: My friend's probably going out on a Saturday night to
- 26:05Speaker 1: the bars.
- 26:05Speaker 2: I'm probably going to say no to that because that's
- 26:07Speaker 2: not something that I really want to do.
- 26:09Speaker 1: So just saying yes to things that you actually want
- 26:12Speaker 1: to do and then saying no to things that you
- 26:14Speaker 1: don't want to do, I think is totally okay. But
- 26:17Speaker 1: being able to create these memories this summer and like
- 26:20Speaker 1: force yourself maybe to do things out of your comfort
- 26:22Speaker 1: zone and things that you know might create excitement and
- 26:26Speaker 1: joy and again memories for the summer. I think we
- 26:29Speaker 1: need to just like stop watching life and actually start
- 26:33Speaker 1: living it. And yeah, I don't know, I think that's
- 26:36Speaker 1: like the main character energy you want for yourself this summer,
- 26:39Speaker 1: and you want to just say yes to plans that
- 26:41Speaker 1: you actually want to do and create excitement and memories
- 26:44Speaker 1: for the summer season. So that's like a five step
- 26:46Speaker 1: plan of how you're going to level up this summer
- 26:50Speaker 1: of creating goals for yourself, figuring out your ideal bucket
- 26:53Speaker 1: list of what you're going to do this summer, how
- 26:55Speaker 1: you're actually going to achieve these things for yourself and
- 26:57Speaker 1: become this summer brand and main care character that you
- 27:00Speaker 1: want for your life to actually maximize your summer season.
- 27:04Speaker 1: So that's kind of like the steps that I'm following
- 27:07Speaker 1: that I kind of want to do for this summer season.
- 27:10Speaker 1: And really just have the best summer ever and really
- 27:13Speaker 1: enjoy myself while obviously focusing on my goals health wise,
- 27:17Speaker 1: but also goals for my new house for example, of
- 27:20Speaker 1: really wanting to just be moved into this house that
- 27:22Speaker 1: we've been working on for so long, and also just
- 27:25Speaker 1: like again being outside, you know, doing outdoor activities, doing
- 27:29Speaker 1: fun weekend plans with the friends, spending time with family,
- 27:32Speaker 1: all that, so really just trying to make that a
- 27:35Speaker 1: big goal for myself this summer. Well, I hope you
- 27:37Speaker 1: guys enjoyed this episode. I feel like I really enjoyed it,
- 27:39Speaker 1: and I feel like it really motivated myself to really
- 27:43Speaker 1: just like envision my summer and get excited about the
- 27:46Speaker 1: summer season.
- 27:47Speaker 2: But I hope you guys enjoyed it.
- 27:48Speaker 1: I've missed you guys so much, and I'm so happy
- 27:50Speaker 1: I was able to get on the mic and talk today.
- 27:52Speaker 2: But I love you guys so much. Thank you guys
- 27:54Speaker 2: so much.
- 27:54Speaker 1: For just being patient and understanding of me only posting
- 27:58Speaker 1: the odd time. But it does feel really good to
- 28:00Speaker 1: just show up and be here and chat with you
- 28:02Speaker 1: guys when I can, because I really do appreciate you
- 28:05Speaker 1: guys just being here and listening to the pod.
- 28:07Speaker 2: You guys know how much it means to me, so
- 28:09Speaker 2: I love you guys.
- 28:10Speaker 1: Also much thank you guys for listening to another episode
- 28:12Speaker 1: and I will see you guys in the next one.
