- 0:00Hello friends! Welcome back to Wonderfully Made,
- 0:04Bible Stories for Children. I'm so glad you're
- 0:08here. Last time, we learned about the tabernacle,
- 0:13the beautiful tent where God lived among his
- 0:16people as they traveled through the wilderness.
- 0:20God showed the Israelites that he was with them
- 0:23and would lead them every step of the way. Today,
- 0:27The Israelites are about to reach the land God
- 0:30promised them. But when they send spies to look
- 0:34at the land, they face a big test, will they
- 0:37trust God? Or give in to fear? Are you ready?
- 0:42Let's begin. After traveling through the wilderness,
- 0:57the Israelites came close to the land God had
- 1:01promised to give them, a land called Canaan.
- 1:05God told Moses to choose twelve men, one from
- 1:09each tribe, to go into the land and explore it.
- 1:13They were to see what the land was like, what
- 1:17the cities looked like, and what kinds of people
- 1:20lived there. The twelve spies left and spent
- 1:24forty days exploring. They saw big cities, tall
- 1:28walls, and strong people. But they also saw beautiful
- 1:33fields, green trees, and the biggest bunches
- 1:37of grapes they had ever seen. It was truly a
- 1:41good land, just as God had said. When the spies
- 1:45came back, they gave their report to the people.
- 1:49Ten of the spies said, The land is good, but
- 1:54the people there are giants. Their cities are
- 1:57too strong. We'll never win. But two of the spies,
- 2:03Joshua and Caleb, told a different story. They
- 2:08said, Yes, the land has strong people, but God
- 2:13is with us. He will help us. Let's go in and
- 2:18take the land he promised. But the people listened
- 2:22to the ten spies who were afraid. They started
- 2:25crying and complaining. Some even said they wanted
- 2:30to go back to Egypt. They had forgotten how powerful
- 2:34God is, the same God who parted the sea and gave
- 2:37them food from heaven. Because the people didn't
- 2:47trust God. they were not allowed to enter the
- 2:50promised land right away. God told them they
- 2:54would have to wait and wander in the wilderness
- 2:57for forty more years. Only Joshua and Caleb,
- 3:01the two faithful spies, would be allowed to enter
- 3:05the land later. Even though the people made a
- 3:10bad choice, God didn't stop loving them. He still
- 3:15gave them food, water, and his presence. But
- 3:19they missed out on his plan because they didn't
- 3:22trust him. Have you ever been afraid to do something
- 3:30hard, even when you knew it was right? The Israelites
- 3:36had a choice. Trust God, or let fear stop them.
- 3:41Sometimes we face hard things too. and we might
- 3:45feel small. But just like Joshua and Caleb said,
- 3:50we don't face those things alone. God is with
- 3:54us. This part of the story teaches us something
- 3:59important. Trusting God isn't always easy, especially
- 4:04when things feel scary. But God's promises are
- 4:08always true. He sees the whole picture. even
- 4:13when we only see big walls and giants. When we
- 4:17trust God, we can move forward with courage even
- 4:21when we feel small. Let's think about a few things
- 4:26together. Have you ever felt afraid to do something
- 4:31God wants you to do? What do you think helped
- 4:36Joshua and Caleb stay brave? Is there something
- 4:41you're facing right now that needs trust instead
- 4:44of fear? God wants us to remember he is bigger
- 4:50than anything we face, and he is always with
- 4:53us. Thanks for joining me today. Next time, we'll
- 4:59hear what happens after many years in the wilderness.
- 5:03It's almost time for a new leader to take Moses'
- 5:07place. Who will it be? And will the people finally
- 5:12enter the land God promised? Don't miss it. And
- 5:16remember, you are wonderfully made, and God is
- 5:20with you every step of the way. Bye for now.
