- Lucas: Hello again, and welcome back to Learn Malay with Fexingo. I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. Ready to pick up where we left off? Lucas: Absolutely. Last time we practiced asking 'siapa' – who. Remember that? Luna: Yeah, we did 'Siapa nama awak?' and 'Siapa dia?'. Lucas: Good memory. Today, let's take it a step further and use those in a real situation. Imagine you're at a family gathering. Luna: Oh, a family gathering. That sounds fun. And a bit tricky with all the relatives. Lucas: Exactly. So, your friend brings you along, and you see someone you don't know. You ask your friend, 'Siapa dia?' – who is that? Luna: Siapa dia? Lucas: Perfect. And your friend says, 'Dia guru saya.' – he is my teacher. Luna: Ah, so 'guru' is teacher. I remember that from a previous episode. Lucas: You do. So, 'Dia guru saya.' – he is my teacher. Luna: Dia guru saya. Lucas: Great. Now, later you see another person and ask, 'Siapa kawan awak?' – who is your friend? Luna: Siapa kawan awak? Lucas: And your friend points and says, 'Dia kawan saya.' – he is my friend. Luna: Dia kawan saya. So 'kawan' is friend. Lucas: Exactly. Now, let's put them together in a mini dialogue. You ask, 'Siapa nama awak?' – what is your name? Luna: Siapa nama awak? Lucas: And the person replies, 'Nama saya Ahmad.' – my name is Ahmad. Luna: Oh, that's a nice name. Lucas: It is. Now, let's practice all of them. Repeat after me: 'Siapa nama awak?' Luna: Siapa nama awak? Lucas: Good. And, 'Siapa dia?' Luna: Siapa dia? Lucas: And, 'Dia guru saya.' Luna: Dia guru saya. Lucas: Now, 'Siapa kawan awak?' Luna: Siapa kawan awak? Lucas: And last, 'Dia kawan saya.' Luna: Dia kawan saya. Lucas: You're a natural. Now, let's put these into a tiny scene. You're at the gathering, and you ask your friend, 'Siapa itu?' – who is that? Luna: Siapa itu? Lucas: And your friend says, 'Dia guru saya.' – he is my teacher. Luna: Ah, so 'itu' is that. Got it. Lucas: And then you ask, 'Siapa kawan awak?' – who is your friend? Luna: Siapa kawan awak? Lucas: And your friend points to another person, 'Dia kawan saya.' – he is my friend. Luna: Dia kawan saya. So easy. Lucas: Now, let's do a quick review.
