- 0:00Speaker 1: This production is brought to you by the Recess bell.
- 0:06Speaker 1: All right, Antonio, are you ready?
- 0:08Speaker 2: I'm ready?
- 0:09Speaker 1: No, I said, are you ready? I'm ready. That's like
- 0:15Speaker 1: that guy, SpongeBob.
- 0:16Speaker 2: That's right, sponge me boy.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Oh this is a film reel, by the way.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Oh shots of the film reel.
- 0:21Speaker 1: I'm here with my buddy Antonio. My name is Justin Greenberg,
- 0:24Speaker 1: and there is a construction crew happening here where we're recording.
- 0:28Speaker 1: So it is what it is, but it's going to
- 0:29Speaker 1: play into the Halloween aesthetic. Speaking of SpongeBob, real quick,
- 0:33Speaker 1: they have the krabby Patty at what.
- 0:35Speaker 2: I knew you were gonna mention that. What a shame
- 0:37Speaker 2: that is. Have you tried it yet?
- 0:39Speaker 1: No, I'm not a Wendy's guy, but I've seen pictures of.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Oh my bad, dude, what are you doing?
- 0:45Speaker 1: Like this is a classy shot. I don't know if
- 0:47Speaker 1: you've listened to the film reel, but like, we don't
- 0:49Speaker 1: go there. Okay, I forgot.
- 0:51Speaker 2: It's not crass, unlike most of your show is justsey
- 0:53Speaker 2: You got me confused.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Yeah, this is like the sixty minutes of the Greenberg
- 0:57Speaker 1: Universe six. This is the class sea thing. So so
- 1:02Speaker 1: why do you say it's it's not good?
- 1:05Speaker 2: Well, because they didn't put any effort into it. A
- 1:07Speaker 2: lot of people are saying that Burger King could have
- 1:09Speaker 2: done a better job, honestly, and I agree because I
- 1:11Speaker 2: tried it myself. All right. I'm not just a naysayer
- 1:13Speaker 2: who just agrees with what the what the media wants
- 1:15Speaker 2: to tell you. Okay, it's a simple Dave's double in
- 1:18Speaker 2: my opinion, or a Dave single. It's just a simple cheeseburger,
- 1:21Speaker 2: if you will, it's gotten.
- 1:22Speaker 1: They have the special sauce, right, the special sauce is.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Just catching a mao, who are we kidding here, guys.
- 1:26Speaker 1: So it's like a big mac in a sense.
- 1:28Speaker 2: It kind of is a big mac, but far worse
- 1:30Speaker 2: because it's it's not got like an you have a
- 1:32Speaker 2: special chopped up onions. But again, you know what, I
- 1:35Speaker 2: started to think about it, and I'm like, well, the
- 1:36Speaker 2: krry patty in itself is a simple burger, right, It's lettuce, tomato,
- 1:41Speaker 2: onions and beef patty. And so like, maybe I'm in
- 1:44Speaker 2: the wrong, but I think where they went wrong is
- 1:46Speaker 2: the pineapple frosty, because if they could have made a
- 1:49Speaker 2: kelp shake which is an actual shake in the show.
- 1:52Speaker 2: That would have really been the cherry lat No one
- 1:55Speaker 2: wants Kelp. I mean, I don't even think Kelp exists.
- 1:57Speaker 2: I mean, I mean what you don't like Seaweed? I
- 1:59Speaker 2: think Kelp is a that the cartoon work for Sewe.
- 2:01Speaker 2: It could be wrong, but it's got to be a
- 2:02Speaker 2: real thingthing couples a real thing. Yes, well, I mean
- 2:04Speaker 2: it could have been a green shake. All I'm saying
- 2:06Speaker 2: they could have put a little more effort into it,
- 2:07Speaker 2: Like I get Pineapple is like where SpongeBob lives.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Did they do anything as far as like toys go,
- 2:13Speaker 1: because I know.
- 2:13Speaker 2: They put stickers in, justin stickers, stickers?
- 2:17Speaker 1: What these has always been asked? It with its like
- 2:20Speaker 1: happy Meal?
- 2:21Speaker 2: Do they have no money? They can't give a simple
- 2:23Speaker 2: toy out.
- 2:24Speaker 1: McDonald's has been brilliant with their marketing trap.
- 2:26Speaker 2: McDonald's right now is cooking. I mean they've got Hello Kitty,
- 2:29Speaker 2: they got Anime Collapse. They're doing two clubs at the
- 2:32Speaker 2: same time. Who are major, like conglomerate like type of
- 2:36Speaker 2: companies that are like getting everyone's attention. Like I don't
- 2:38Speaker 2: know how they're doing it right now. They're on top
- 2:40Speaker 2: right now, with the type of collaborations they're making.
- 2:42Speaker 1: You know, when I was a kid, actually during October,
- 2:46Speaker 1: McDonald's would do Halloween theme stuff. It was late one
- 2:49Speaker 1: in the chicken McNuggets. What are you making sauce? Are
- 2:54Speaker 1: you using my mummy's.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Hmm?
- 3:03Speaker 1: And that's actually what we're gonna be talking about was Halloween.
- 3:05Speaker 1: But they used to have the McNugget buddies, these these
- 3:08Speaker 1: like you know, chicken McNuggets, and there are characters, right, yeah,
- 3:12Speaker 1: but you could dress them up in Halloween outfits.
- 3:14Speaker 2: So we're creative.
- 3:15Speaker 1: I have like a Frankenstein's monster McNugget. I have a
- 3:19Speaker 1: dragon saying those of course I have, Antonio, you.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Definitely put those in your mouth though, let's be honest.
- 3:24Speaker 1: The McNugget buddies, yeah, I don't think so. Those kids
- 3:29Speaker 1: not with McNugget buddies. Yeah, Like I had these Land
- 3:34Speaker 1: Before Time, which was a movie from the eighties, But
- 3:36Speaker 1: we had these pizza hot toys from them and at
- 3:38Speaker 1: the end of some of their heads were like nipple
- 3:40Speaker 1: shaped things and I would suck on those. But this
- 3:44Speaker 1: is the classy show, anton Yeah.
- 3:46Speaker 2: I forgot. This is the class This isn't after hours.
- 3:49Speaker 1: No no, no more sucking on nipples of dinosaur heads
- 3:52Speaker 1: on this show. But McDonald's would also give away these
- 3:55Speaker 1: buckets that you could use for trick or treating, like
- 3:58Speaker 1: a pumpkin and a ghost and I.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Did see those. They brought those smart well.
- 4:02Speaker 1: They brought them back a few years ago, but it
- 4:04Speaker 1: wasn't the same. They didn't have the lids and it
- 4:06Speaker 1: was just a cheaper material because you know, you go
- 4:09Speaker 1: back to the eighties and nineties, they didn't really give
- 4:11Speaker 1: a crap about the environment. Nowadays, they didn't want to
- 4:14Speaker 1: have too much plastic, so the lid was made out
- 4:16Speaker 1: of there.
- 4:16Speaker 2: You got to save the turtles, save the walruses, Like
- 4:19Speaker 2: who needs all this saving? Right, Savior, say yes, enjoy
- 4:22Speaker 2: your life while you still have it.
- 4:24Speaker 1: You know, it's embarrassing. So, uh yeah, we're gonna be
- 4:26Speaker 1: talking about Halloween and before we get to some movie discussion,
- 4:31Speaker 1: and Antonio, your girlfriend Evanna is scheduled.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Running a little late.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Typical, yeahypic, I know, women, right right, So we're gonna
- 4:40Speaker 1: talk about just some Halloween memories before we get to
- 4:44Speaker 1: some movie talk. We'll be discussing the movie The Substance
- 4:47Speaker 1: which me and you both loved. I recommended it to you. Yeah,
- 4:50Speaker 1: and uh.
- 4:51Speaker 2: No you did no, you did it. I recommend it
- 4:53Speaker 2: to you. You almost caught me there, No, no, no, no.
- 4:56Speaker 2: I told you have to watch this movie. And I
- 4:57Speaker 2: think I've been to and no justin, I could be wrong,
- 4:59Speaker 2: but blink twice you liked and the substance as well.
- 5:01Speaker 1: So I love Come On Substance spoiler alert and blank twice.
- 5:06Speaker 1: I thought it was very good.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:07Speaker 1: And then the other movie we're gonna be talking about
- 5:09Speaker 1: is Terrifier.
- 5:09Speaker 2: That's where we start putting the fisticuffs up, you know.
- 5:11Speaker 2: And it's gonna be a big debate.
- 5:13Speaker 1: And I'm a master debater, so you guys are going
- 5:15Speaker 1: to lose debate. So let's talk about Halloween though, just
- 5:19Speaker 1: the holiday in general. I love this holiday. Yeah, I mean,
- 5:24Speaker 1: what kid wouldn't love Halloween. You get to wear costumes,
- 5:28Speaker 1: you get candy.
- 5:28Speaker 2: It's just the kid of a dentist wouldn't love Halloween.
- 5:31Speaker 2: I bet.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Also, I've talked to a few people here were recording
- 5:35Speaker 1: at w HPC National Community College's radio station, and I've
- 5:39Speaker 1: talked to students here that said they never went trick
- 5:43Speaker 1: or treating.
- 5:43Speaker 2: No way, that's true, Zach. Well, I mean, I don't
- 5:48Speaker 2: really know Zach like that, but I know his brother.
- 5:50Speaker 1: No.
- 5:50Speaker 2: I know No went to treat.
- 5:51Speaker 1: He did because I talked to Zach about did your
- 5:54Speaker 1: brother go trigger treating? And he's like, yeah, and he
- 5:56Speaker 1: was never fascinated in that. But it made no sense
- 5:59Speaker 1: because Zach is he's an outgoing guy when it comes
- 6:02Speaker 1: to like dressing up. He was the team mascot apparently.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Really yeah, that's awesome for the high school. So I
- 6:08Speaker 1: don't understand why he wouldn't like Halloween, but I love it.
- 6:12Speaker 1: I have so many fond memories of going around my neighborhood.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Right when school ends. You go around the neighborhood with
- 6:17Speaker 1: you and your buddies, maybe an older brother, and you
- 6:21Speaker 1: just gather candy. You get giant book bags filled with candy,
- 6:26Speaker 1: and at the end of the night, you gather around
- 6:29Speaker 1: your living room. You have some TV shows on in
- 6:31Speaker 1: the background.
- 6:32Speaker 2: And you start eating the candy.
- 6:33Speaker 1: You eat it, but then you trade it. Because I
- 6:35Speaker 1: didn't like certain candies as a kid.
- 6:37Speaker 2: I definitely trade I traded for all the Whoppers, the
- 6:39Speaker 2: Whoopers or Whoppers Whoppers like the Whoppers I like them
- 6:42Speaker 2: as a kid, but now I grew up and I'm like,
- 6:43Speaker 2: these are awful. How did I like these a kid?
- 6:45Speaker 2: No one ever wanted to give them to me. Yeah,
- 6:47Speaker 2: they're not worth anything.
- 6:48Speaker 1: Whoppers was definitely on the trading block.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Very lower level market candy.
- 6:53Speaker 1: What do you have? All right, I'm not just talking candy. Yeah,
- 6:56Speaker 1: you're not getting sour patch kids on Halloween as far
- 6:58Speaker 1: as like Halloween can Yeah, what are you putting?
- 7:01Speaker 2: Uh?
- 7:02Speaker 1: Your your top two or three I'm gonna start with
- 7:06Speaker 1: as an adult. Yeah, well I guess I don't go
- 7:08Speaker 1: trick or treating. But I didn't like Snickers as a kid,
- 7:11Speaker 1: But that mean either as an adult now Snickers are fantastic.
- 7:15Speaker 2: I mean as the age I am now I see
- 7:16Speaker 2: it in any machine. I'm like, this will hold me
- 7:18Speaker 2: down for the whole ship to work. Yes, Snickers right.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Here, A lot of lot of It's got everything I need. Yeah, exactly.
- 7:24Speaker 1: I love the Milky Way.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Okay, Well you lost me there. I had nothing but Nugat.
- 7:29Speaker 2: I'm not a big fan of the nugat.
- 7:30Speaker 1: What about kitkats?
- 7:31Speaker 2: Kitkats are definitely you know what, I loved kit kats.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Don't like them now anymore as much as I did before.
- 7:35Speaker 2: We'll give me my top three right now are no,
- 7:37Speaker 2: let's talk about what electric treating on. My top three
- 7:39Speaker 2: during trick or treating was the Whoopers for some reason,
- 7:41Speaker 2: the Whoppers, right, and then it was definitely a Reese's Cup,
- 7:45Speaker 2: and then it had to be like peanut m and ms.
- 7:48Speaker 2: Those are my top three nowadays. Can't stand Whoppers all right,
- 7:52Speaker 2: Reese's Cup, it's my still my number one. It's holding
- 7:55Speaker 2: it down.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Over the Reese's Pieces because I like Ese's pieces a lot.
- 7:59Speaker 2: I like Riesa's pieces, but I don't need mess with
- 8:01Speaker 2: them if they like they're combined with popcorn or something
- 8:04Speaker 2: else pieces, you know what I mean, Like it's just
- 8:07Speaker 2: like keep eating those and just like these aren't like Skittles,
- 8:09Speaker 2: you know, you know what I mean. Like there's a
- 8:10Speaker 2: lot going on right now.
- 8:12Speaker 1: What about you didn't mention any sour candy because to me, yeah,
- 8:15Speaker 1: there was like two that were really around during that time,
- 8:19Speaker 1: and one of them is not really even sour. It's
- 8:21Speaker 1: it's uh Smarties.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Yeah, which you know was it the heart Smarties?
- 8:25Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 8:26Speaker 2: Because I like the chewy Smarties. Those are my favorites.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Those are Sweethearts.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Oh well, there we go.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Yeah, well Sweethearts were fantastic. I think Sweethearts were the
- 8:34Speaker 1: top tier of sour candy. Smarties aren't really sour. They're
- 8:37Speaker 1: like they're basically like you're eating chalk.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, exactly, but I kind of like that. You
- 8:42Speaker 2: got so do you like tombs?
- 8:43Speaker 1: Also love toms and they have different you know, themes.
- 8:48Speaker 1: Now there's like proper movie.
- 8:50Speaker 2: All types of flavor toms. I'm like, they'd all just
- 8:51Speaker 2: taste like chalk. I don't know how you could taste anything.
- 8:54Speaker 1: I love them, but yeah, I loved gathering candy and
- 8:57Speaker 1: you know, you might be blessed with the house that
- 9:00Speaker 1: gives you a full sized candy bar. Not in my neighborhood.
- 9:03Speaker 2: I didn't find too many of those, unfortunately, but I
- 9:05Speaker 2: would hear.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Stories, you know what we we would find there was
- 9:08Speaker 1: a neighbor around the block and a half from my
- 9:11Speaker 1: house that would give away drinks.
- 9:14Speaker 2: So we'd have really like two leaders are like just
- 9:16Speaker 2: soda cans.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Cans of fruit punch. And that was a good hands
- 9:20Speaker 1: staymark like halfway, you know you're getting a little tired,
- 9:24Speaker 1: you head to Jone's house on the corner of Pine
- 9:26Speaker 1: Street and remember, yeah, I'll never forget that.
- 9:30Speaker 2: I mean you mentioned earlier how you would go trick
- 9:32Speaker 2: or treating with friends and things like that. I never
- 9:34Speaker 2: went with friends because I didn't really have too many
- 9:36Speaker 2: friends growing up, So like I would go, yeah, I
- 9:37Speaker 2: would go with cousins and family, and like I would
- 9:40Speaker 2: always make them come. I would always make them come.
- 9:42Speaker 2: I would always make them come to like where I lived,
- 9:44Speaker 2: And I don't know how that happened, but it always
- 9:46Speaker 2: happened that way. And I would hear stories about how,
- 9:49Speaker 2: like the people that I went to school with, they
- 9:50Speaker 2: would go all the way to like the Hewlett Harbor,
- 9:53Speaker 2: which is like the rich area, so that's where you
- 9:55Speaker 2: get the full sized candies. And I'm like, we should
- 9:57Speaker 2: plot to do that. But the same time, I wasn't
- 10:00Speaker 2: initiative enough to get these candy like get these candy bars.
- 10:03Speaker 2: I was like, this isn't at the end of the day,
- 10:05Speaker 2: like it doesn't really matter, Like I don't really think
- 10:06Speaker 2: I'm gonna walk all that far, or like care about
- 10:08Speaker 2: going all that the distance, or like bothering my mom
- 10:11Speaker 2: was about bothering my mom even though she didn't probably
- 10:12Speaker 2: wouldn't be bothered by that, but I'd be like, no,
- 10:15Speaker 2: just forget, let's just just enjoy the night. Whatever houses
- 10:17Speaker 2: are nearby, Like it really isn't that big of a deal.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Now you have a younger sister, did you have to?
- 10:22Speaker 2: Dude?
- 10:22Speaker 1: Did you have to?
- 10:23Speaker 2: She was probably the only friend I had trigger treating
- 10:27Speaker 2: every year.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Yeah, no, she would.
- 10:28Speaker 2: She would have come with me every time, and uh, honestly,
- 10:31Speaker 2: she would want to take lead, and I would let
- 10:33Speaker 2: her because she was too stubborn, you know what I mean.
- 10:36Speaker 2: I was like, you know what, go ahead, take the lead,
- 10:38Speaker 2: you tell us where to go.
- 10:39Speaker 1: When do you think is too old to go trigg
- 10:41Speaker 1: or treating? We start a great question, we stopped. I
- 10:43Speaker 1: want to say sixth grade was the last year we
- 10:46Speaker 1: really went.
- 10:47Speaker 2: You know what's crazy? Like I think I also stopped
- 10:49Speaker 2: in the middle school, and I really missed out because honestly,
- 10:53Speaker 2: like at the end of high school should be the
- 10:55Speaker 2: last time you trigger treat. Like a senior in high school.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Sure they may seem old, but they're still okay to
- 11:00Speaker 2: treating because they're in high school. That's still not like
- 11:02Speaker 2: an adult. You're still not eighteen. You still can't buy
- 11:04Speaker 2: lotto tickets like I think it's very reasonable to going
- 11:07Speaker 2: as a senior if.
- 11:08Speaker 1: I was a short person, Like we're talking, you know,
- 11:11Speaker 1: munchkin levels. Yeah, what is stopping me from putting on
- 11:15Speaker 1: a costume every year every year?
- 11:18Speaker 2: I guess facial here, I guess facial wear asks you
- 11:23Speaker 2: put on a little voice. I guess the issue is,
- 11:27Speaker 2: like you'd have to go by yourself, like who, how
- 11:29Speaker 2: would you find that a little posse to like, you know,
- 11:31Speaker 2: blend in with.
- 11:32Speaker 1: There's gotta be Facebook groups for the unkins. We're hitting
- 11:36Speaker 1: up Pine Street. I heard they have full size sonas.
- 11:41Speaker 2: I just got the latest Intel.
- 11:43Speaker 1: So I I loved that aspect of being a kid
- 11:47Speaker 1: and doing the the treating. But then there was also
- 11:50Speaker 1: the tricking aspect, and that didn't really happen until middle
- 11:53Speaker 1: school high school, where you would go around with shaving
- 11:56Speaker 1: cream and eggs. I don't know if you if that
- 11:58Speaker 1: was something you guys.
- 11:58Speaker 2: I was definitely like, I was definitely heard about the
- 12:01Speaker 2: stories when I was in middle school because I would
- 12:03Speaker 2: go to like I would be in sports in middle school,
- 12:05Speaker 2: so like most of the time, Halloween would sometimes fall
- 12:08Speaker 2: on the day before we have a game or the
- 12:10Speaker 2: day before we have a practice, like early in the
- 12:12Speaker 2: morning on a Saturday. So I would show up and
- 12:14Speaker 2: these kids would have like nasty marks on their face
- 12:16Speaker 2: and like something would happen. They would explain all these
- 12:19Speaker 2: stories about how they went. They do all these tricking
- 12:21Speaker 2: stuff and the egging and the teepeeing, and like I
- 12:24Speaker 2: thought that I would feel envious, but at the end
- 12:26Speaker 2: of day, I just felt like I don't want to
- 12:27Speaker 2: deal with those poor people that live in the houses.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Like I'd feel terrible for the victims that they would
- 12:31Speaker 2: have to get egged. Like I wouldn't want to clean
- 12:34Speaker 2: up egg It seems like the worst and to clean up.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Yeah, it is something as an adult now, you definitely
- 12:39Speaker 1: regret doing things like that. I mean, egging is is
- 12:44Speaker 1: that's something that stains the house. I remember egging my
- 12:46Speaker 1: body Lewis fell the Benito's house. Yeah, and there were
- 12:49Speaker 1: egg stains there forever.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Oh my god, it's terrible. Yeah, because the weather might freeze,
- 12:54Speaker 2: who knows what could happen. Yeah.
- 12:55Speaker 1: No, and you know something like toilet paper, shaving cream
- 12:58Speaker 1: that's sort of harmless, you know. Yeah, yeah, yeah, take
- 13:00Speaker 1: that down. But I do have memories of walking around
- 13:04Speaker 1: neighborhoods and people doing worse stuff than that, you know,
- 13:07Speaker 1: demolishing property taking, you know, decorations.
- 13:11Speaker 2: Some delinquents on your on your side of neighborhood.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Well, there was a block it was called Harvard Harvard
- 13:16Speaker 1: and it was in Rockville Center, and it was the
- 13:19Speaker 1: stuff of legend you would always hear about like this
- 13:22Speaker 1: is just destruction. This block is known for the tepeeing
- 13:27Speaker 1: and the egg gang. If you're walking down this block,
- 13:30Speaker 1: like be prepared to be assaulted. So you know, I
- 13:35Speaker 1: only I only did that a few times.
- 13:36Speaker 2: What would you dress up as? Is justin as a kid,
- 13:39Speaker 2: you know, were your type of person that always wear
- 13:43Speaker 2: the same costume every year.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Never, you know, I have all the videos of me
- 13:47Speaker 1: dressing up, so anything from the Devil, the Devil when
- 13:51Speaker 1: I was very young army man, which I don't know
- 13:54Speaker 1: would be allowed in today's day and age. I'm walking
- 13:56Speaker 1: around the neighborhood with a gun. You had Captain America.
- 14:01Speaker 1: Oh before you know Captain America. I dressed up as
- 14:05Speaker 1: Captain America in kindergarten, So this.
- 14:07Speaker 2: Is oh wow, you were you were in the No, yeah, you.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Know, I'm an old man Antonio. So this was like
- 14:12Speaker 1: nineteen ninety three, I'm dressing up as.
- 14:14Speaker 2: You were the first Captain America. You were like you
- 14:15Speaker 2: were just frozen, like you were the real one.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Pretty much. Uh yeah, I loved you know, the superhero fits,
- 14:23Speaker 1: all that jazz, anything violent. Also, I would steal out
- 14:28Speaker 1: of my brother's costume. So my brother would dress up
- 14:30Speaker 1: as you know, the Grim Reaper, but then he'd have
- 14:34Speaker 1: the costume and you know, two years would go by
- 14:36Speaker 1: and go I'll be the Grim Reapers.
- 14:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Oh, I could put a Scream mask on and be
- 14:39Speaker 2: Scream you know what I mean.
- 14:40Speaker 1: That was the big That was like in ninety six.
- 14:43Speaker 2: That was huge, like with the time you were growing up.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Yeah, when Scream came out, I vividly remember walking down
- 14:48Speaker 1: Maple Avenue in my town and seeing like five or
- 14:51Speaker 1: six Scream masks.
- 14:53Speaker 2: Did you ever see like the bloody one where you
- 14:54Speaker 2: pump it up?
- 14:55Speaker 1: That was the best one. Oh man, I wish I
- 14:56Speaker 1: had that. I wish I had Dad.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Got that for me and he was like he was like, listen, Champ,
- 15:00Speaker 2: this is the coolest thing I'll probably ever get you.
- 15:03Speaker 2: And I didn't know the movie. I understand why was Coole,
- 15:06Speaker 2: So I was like, oh wow, thanks pops. I appreciate it,
- 15:08Speaker 2: and I'm just like, what is this, man, I'm wearing
- 15:10Speaker 2: this and then looking back at it now, I'm like, wow,
- 15:12Speaker 2: I really missed out. Man, That's probably one of the
- 15:13Speaker 2: coolest things it so ever have like as a souvenir,
- 15:17Speaker 2: as like a thing to keep. Like now, you said,
- 15:19Speaker 2: like a lot of the costumes you were like was
- 15:21Speaker 2: when you were growing up, like as a kid, like
- 15:22Speaker 2: going to middle school, high school. But did you ever
- 15:24Speaker 2: have like Halloween fun as a college student or like,
- 15:27Speaker 2: you know, in your early twenties or like, you know,
- 15:28Speaker 2: things like that.
- 15:29Speaker 1: You know what, not really not in the sense of
- 15:31Speaker 1: really stressing up. And I do regret that. You know,
- 15:34Speaker 1: maybe I went to a bar here and there and
- 15:36Speaker 1: put on a costume every now and then, but I
- 15:39Speaker 1: sort of missed out.
- 15:40Speaker 3: You know.
- 15:40Speaker 1: I went to college at Nasau Community College, so there's
- 15:43Speaker 1: not dorms or anything. It's not like, oh, here's a
- 15:45Speaker 1: college Halloween money.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Your friends went to college as a way that you
- 15:48Speaker 2: could have visited or.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Non really you know a lot of them stayed local,
- 15:52Speaker 1: but I love doing other Halloween activities. So there's a
- 15:57Speaker 1: place locally near us called Hick's nursery and they have
- 16:00Speaker 1: like an animatronic exhibit. And I love doing things like
- 16:03Speaker 1: apple picking and pumpkin picking and apple you know, carving
- 16:06Speaker 1: up pumpkins and whatnot.
- 16:08Speaker 2: So you would have to do that with like a
- 16:09Speaker 2: date or somebody, right, like you would just do by yourself.
- 16:11Speaker 1: You would think you would have to do that to date,
- 16:13Speaker 1: But no, I'm the lone man at Hicks. They have
- 16:15Speaker 1: like the they have the animatronic show that's meant for
- 16:18Speaker 1: like four year olds. Yeah, that's what I want to say.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Like there's like there's like a story. It's like Otto
- 16:24Speaker 1: was angry this fall day and I'm like reading it.
- 16:27Speaker 1: I'm like, I always angry this fault day. He's just reading.
- 16:31Speaker 1: He's a big kid, just thrown man with a mustache
- 16:34Speaker 1: trying to read. But I I mean, I'm not gonna
- 16:37Speaker 1: not do it.
- 16:38Speaker 2: No, I love it. I am the envy you for
- 16:40Speaker 2: it because sometimes it's it's hard for me to even
- 16:42Speaker 2: eat alone. I'm just like, oh man, what people can
- 16:43Speaker 2: think about me? And no, it's good. It's good to
- 16:45Speaker 2: have like that moment to yourself and like not worry
- 16:47Speaker 2: about it because like, at the end of the day,
- 16:48Speaker 2: you're the only company you really need.
- 16:49Speaker 1: And you don't have to worry about entertaining. Okay, I
- 16:53Speaker 1: don't have to talk. I don't have to tell you.
- 16:55Speaker 2: Yes, First states are hard to like do all that
- 16:57Speaker 2: stuff in Like I'm like, yeah, oh my god.
- 16:59Speaker 1: What's your favorite movie, what's your favorite color? What do
- 17:02Speaker 1: you like to do? Yeah?
- 17:03Speaker 2: Just could we just eat just one long icebreaker? Like
- 17:06Speaker 2: come on now, brutal.
- 17:08Speaker 1: But let's get back to the Halloween. So I'm assuming
- 17:11Speaker 1: since you brought that up, you've probably done some.
- 17:13Speaker 2: I've had, because I see here that you have a
- 17:15Speaker 2: little question here the best costume ever had? I think
- 17:17Speaker 2: my best costumes were when I was in college and
- 17:20Speaker 2: like visiting my friend in Albany, so like I went
- 17:23Speaker 2: to U Albany for like when I was a freshman
- 17:25Speaker 2: in college at NCC and I dressed up as like
- 17:29Speaker 2: six ' nine, the rapper, the one that snitched. I
- 17:31Speaker 2: don't know if you know it justin he was like
- 17:33Speaker 2: he was he had the rainbow hair. Yes, so like
- 17:35Speaker 2: my hair was braided, like I had really long hair,
- 17:37Speaker 2: and I braided my hair just like like six '
- 17:40Speaker 2: nine with the intention to maybe dress up as him,
- 17:43Speaker 2: but no one believed me. So I was like, well,
- 17:45Speaker 2: Halloween is here. I've got this Halloween party in you Albany,
- 17:47Speaker 2: I'm gonna commit to it. I'm gonna do it. So
- 17:50Speaker 2: I sprayed my hair like rainbow colored. My dad was like,
- 17:53Speaker 2: what are you gonna wear? Like, how is that gonna work?
- 17:56Speaker 2: And so I wore a prison outfit because he went
- 17:58Speaker 2: to jail at that time, and then I wore it,
- 18:00Speaker 2: and like, looking back those pictures, I'm like, Wow, this
- 18:02Speaker 2: was the one time where I committed to a costume.
- 18:05Speaker 2: I really tried it out, and I didn't realize how
- 18:07Speaker 2: much fun I could have just trying to dress up
- 18:08Speaker 2: or like cosplay it. Maybe really think about like maybe
- 18:11Speaker 2: I would enjoy cosplaying. Maybe I would enjoy dressing up
- 18:13Speaker 2: for like some cool things is Halloween? Like painting my face,
- 18:15Speaker 2: getting really into it.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Maybe you could be a furry all right?
- 18:18Speaker 2: I don't know about all that.
- 18:19Speaker 1: I sounded like he had a blest. Maybe you should
- 18:22Speaker 1: try it out.
- 18:22Speaker 2: I don't think Phraser cosplay. I think that's their alter
- 18:24Speaker 2: ego justin.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Are there any moments that stick out as far as
- 18:29Speaker 1: I can't believe that was a costume because I have
- 18:31Speaker 1: one that I'll never forget. I'm not gonna say the
- 18:34Speaker 1: young boy's name because I think he's Yeah, you know.
- 18:37Speaker 2: I think a wife. I think I remember the story
- 18:39Speaker 2: you told me. I think you said on the Warning
- 18:41Speaker 2: Show one time. I still don't believe it either.
- 18:43Speaker 1: I have video of it because my mom would go
- 18:46Speaker 1: to the Halloween party at our.
- 18:48Speaker 2: No one stopped this boy. That's the type of day
- 18:49Speaker 2: we were in. Yeah.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Yeah, So it was the mid nineties, different time, I suppose, Yeah,
- 18:54Speaker 1: and there was a basketball player, Dennis Rodman. Dennis Rodman
- 18:58Speaker 1: is a black gentleman for people that don't.
- 18:59Speaker 2: Know pulverizing, yes, and the character.
- 19:02Speaker 1: And this young Jewish boy decided, I'm going to dress
- 19:06Speaker 1: up as Dennis Rodman face painting all. So he did
- 19:10Speaker 1: blackface in the mid nineties. Oh and he had the
- 19:14Speaker 1: green hair and the tattoos and the nose ring and
- 19:17Speaker 1: all that stuff.
- 19:18Speaker 2: I mean, he committed, that's for sure. But it's not
- 19:20Speaker 2: going back after that.
- 19:21Speaker 1: No. But but I don't even blame him because he's
- 19:26Speaker 1: eight years old, nine years old. How could his parents
- 19:30Speaker 1: approve of this.
- 19:31Speaker 2: They probably just thought that he wasn't get away with
- 19:34Speaker 2: it because of his age, and they didn't really care
- 19:35Speaker 2: enough to like teach him what it was or do
- 19:37Speaker 2: the whole I mean, I still think about that. I'm like,
- 19:39Speaker 2: that's come on now.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Because it's just you can hear during the filming, because
- 19:46Speaker 1: my mom has a film. You could hear another parent
- 19:48Speaker 1: saying like that's terrible. I would love to know what
- 19:50Speaker 1: the teachers and the principal, because the principal was a
- 19:53Speaker 1: black woman, Yeah, what did she think about this young
- 19:56Speaker 1: kid doing that? Nothing was brought up about it. This
- 19:59Speaker 1: is obviously for social media or anything happened, uh, but
- 20:04Speaker 1: just so bizarre that something like that could happen a
- 20:07Speaker 1: lot of controversial Halloween costumes obviously happened. I can remember
- 20:11Speaker 1: a kid dressing up as Bill Clinton after the Monica
- 20:14Speaker 1: Lewinsky incident, and he literally was wearing that's really good.
- 20:17Speaker 1: He was wearing underwear to school in middle school with
- 20:21Speaker 1: the Monica with the Bill Clinton mask.
- 20:24Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that's well, that's outrageous.
- 20:26Speaker 1: I mean, it's crazy.
- 20:27Speaker 2: I've seen people wear boxers though to like the school
- 20:30Speaker 2: as a costume. I've always been like, wow, it's so edgy,
- 20:32Speaker 2: that's so risky, Like, holy moly.
- 20:34Speaker 1: Was there one costume? Did anyone else in your school?
- 20:37Speaker 1: Do the black nose or no.
- 20:39Speaker 2: No, no, Well, people didn't wear costumes to school honestly,
- 20:42Speaker 2: unless they were doing the boxer trait because they, you know,
- 20:44Speaker 2: they want to press off the ladies.
- 20:46Speaker 1: They didn't wear it too like elementary school though.
- 20:48Speaker 2: No, it was high school, like this was high school,
- 20:50Speaker 2: and like some of them would controlled, but some of
- 20:52Speaker 2: them wouldn't know.
- 20:53Speaker 1: But I'm saying, when you went to elementary school, people
- 20:55Speaker 1: wear costume.
- 20:56Speaker 2: I really don't remember. I bet they did, but we
- 20:58Speaker 2: had like how you have that memory like that? I
- 21:00Speaker 2: can't remember it at all.
- 21:01Speaker 1: Because we would have the parade, like I mentioned, we'd
- 21:03Speaker 1: go to the auditorium'd be like an assembly. We'd listen
- 21:07Speaker 1: to Ghostbusters and whatnot.
- 21:09Speaker 2: Always your yeah, she's here.
- 21:11Speaker 1: Okay, we're gonna pause this this conversation. We'll pick it
- 21:15Speaker 1: back up. We'll talk some more Halloween things, and then
- 21:16Speaker 1: we're gonna talk about Terrifier three and the substance. Hey now, hey, now, hey,
- 21:22Speaker 1: now all right. We are back right, So we're gonna
- 21:24Speaker 1: pick it right back up as we continue our discussion
- 21:28Speaker 1: with Halloween as the construction crew.
- 21:30Speaker 3: Wow, they know we're doing this right now, that's crazy.
- 21:34Speaker 1: They are anti Halloween. We got Antonio. We got Antonio's
- 21:38Speaker 1: not Imaginary Girl Imaginary.
- 21:40Speaker 3: Very real unfortunately, and we're just talking about Halloween traditions.
- 21:46Speaker 1: We're just talking about our favorite candies and costumes and whatnot.
- 21:50Speaker 1: And we got up to the point of conversation that
- 21:53Speaker 1: we were just talking about what are some of the
- 21:55Speaker 1: favorite things to watch during Halloween, not including just movies?
- 21:59Speaker 1: You know TV shows? Is any Halloween special that's a
- 22:01Speaker 1: must I mean, I'll start off, I gotta watch The
- 22:04Speaker 1: Great Pumpkin, the Charlie Brown special, that's always a must watch.
- 22:08Speaker 1: And I'm a Simpsons fan to the day I.
- 22:11Speaker 2: Die, and so that's a good one. I forgot. I
- 22:12Speaker 2: forgot about those.
- 22:13Speaker 1: They got the Treehouse of Horror special. They have a
- 22:15Speaker 1: new one each year. Although the show has dipped the
- 22:18Speaker 1: mentally in quality, those Treehouse of Horror episodes are always
- 22:21Speaker 1: something I have to watch. So those are two that
- 22:24Speaker 1: definitely stick out. Well.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Ivanna put me onto this show called like Over the
- 22:27Speaker 2: Garden Wall. I was about to mention that, which is
- 22:29Speaker 2: like a series that's like what is like seven episodes?
- 22:31Speaker 2: Eight episodes?
- 22:32Speaker 3: Yeah, it's about like nine episodes.
- 22:33Speaker 2: Like nine episodes are throw all like twenty minutes fifteen
- 22:35Speaker 2: minutes each and they all tie up at the end.
- 22:37Speaker 2: It's like it's just literally just meant for Halloween, just
- 22:38Speaker 2: kind of like the what's called the Pumpkin when you
- 22:41Speaker 2: were talking.
- 22:41Speaker 3: Just has such an autumn ambiance. Like literally the music
- 22:44Speaker 3: it's something that I literally put on when I study too,
- 22:47Speaker 3: so like the soundtrack for the whole show, it's amazing. Also,
- 22:50Speaker 3: like the character building throughout the show, it just makes
- 22:53Speaker 3: it very interesting in general.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Where's something like that available?
- 22:57Speaker 2: Was it Hulu? I think it was Hulu, right, I.
- 22:59Speaker 3: Think it was on It probably switches from stream you
- 23:02Speaker 3: don't know, you know how the streaming services, but the.
- 23:04Speaker 2: I believe last year was on Hulu. So if it's
- 23:07Speaker 2: on Hulu now you can find it. You'd also find
- 23:09Speaker 2: like the complete uh like series, like on a disc,
- 23:12Speaker 2: like on just the Amazon or something like that. Because
- 23:14Speaker 2: it's it's it's like only nine episodes.
- 23:16Speaker 3: It's honestly worth to own. My friend she owns the
- 23:19Speaker 3: CD or I guess like DVD of the show, and
- 23:22Speaker 3: she placed it in her car and we watched it together.
- 23:24Speaker 1: Whiles Yeah yeah, no, not while driving.
- 23:27Speaker 3: Okay, let me let me uh we just you know,
- 23:30Speaker 3: just sitting down in a parking lot.
- 23:32Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, now it pauses once you drive, so it's smart,
- 23:36Speaker 2: it's smart. But yeah, no, I also like told Ianna
- 23:39Speaker 2: about like American Horror Story because that my my aunt
- 23:41Speaker 2: put me onto that when I was younger, as well
- 23:44Speaker 2: as The Walking Dead, which happens to go on once
- 23:46Speaker 2: October begins, but not anymore because that show is like
- 23:49Speaker 2: went on different spirals.
- 23:50Speaker 1: Now I've heard that dipped in quality.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean the the main show ended and then
- 23:54Speaker 2: became three different shows with three different characters, so it's
- 23:56Speaker 2: just too much to follow. I moved on from that.
- 23:58Speaker 2: But yeah, American Heart Story to be really good, it's
- 24:00Speaker 2: not actually not good anymore. And also dipping quality, what
- 24:02Speaker 2: do you expect? You know what I mean? These these
- 24:04Speaker 2: same thing with the Simpsons. You know, it shows if.
- 24:06Speaker 1: You go on, you know, for that long, there's no
- 24:09Speaker 1: way you could keep up that consistency, not just in
- 24:12Speaker 1: you know, movies and TV shows, but sports, you know, athletes,
- 24:16Speaker 1: let's stay on too long. Singers. It's very rare for
- 24:18Speaker 1: a musical act to put out consistent work for thirty
- 24:21Speaker 1: forty years, so it just it's it's bound to happen.
- 24:23Speaker 1: But let's get into the main event. Actually, no, quickly, quickly,
- 24:27Speaker 1: because we don't we have limited time. And yeah, we're
- 24:30Speaker 1: gonna just talk about movies real quick that aren't Terrifier
- 24:33Speaker 1: three and that aren't the substance. Is there a movie
- 24:37Speaker 1: that you have to put on every Halloween season? I'm
- 24:40Speaker 1: gonna throw out my two right now. Ghostbusters number one.
- 24:43Speaker 1: I have to watch Ghostbusters, even if it's on TV
- 24:46Speaker 1: and it's in the middle of the movie. I'm watching
- 24:48Speaker 1: it till the end of the movie. And then as far.
- 24:50Speaker 2: As which goes like the riginal Ghostbusters original.
- 24:53Speaker 1: Not the women Ghostbusters from two years ago, and as
- 24:57Speaker 1: far as more of a whole or type of movie,
- 25:01Speaker 1: because Ghostbusters is more of a comedy. Yeah, I love
- 25:04Speaker 1: the Evil Dead series.
- 25:05Speaker 2: Oh man, did you like the remake?
- 25:07Speaker 1: I thought it was fine. Yeah, But if I am
- 25:09Speaker 1: gonna watch an Evil Dead, it's gonna be Evil Dead too,
- 25:11Speaker 1: which I think is one of the top tier eighties
- 25:13Speaker 1: horror movies of all time.
- 25:15Speaker 3: I only watched the last one. Honestly, I think I
- 25:17Speaker 3: was pretty like impressed that everybody died in the freaking movie.
- 25:19Speaker 3: I couldn't understand, Like, what, what do you mean, there's
- 25:22Speaker 3: no happy ending.
- 25:23Speaker 2: There's never happy end.
- 25:24Speaker 1: And they killed the kids.
- 25:25Speaker 2: Yep, they killed the kids every time for terrifyer. But
- 25:28Speaker 2: I also showed you the the second to last one,
- 25:30Speaker 2: the one that came out, Yeah, which was pretty good too.
- 25:34Speaker 2: Remember where they were the rehabilitation I mean the rehab woman. Yeah,
- 25:38Speaker 2: and that was good one too, which the same thing happened.
- 25:39Speaker 2: Everyone died except for the main person.
- 25:41Speaker 3: You like that in movies when everybody dies, it just
- 25:43Speaker 3: feels like, wow, why did I even watch this? For like,
- 25:46Speaker 3: just give me the synopsis already.
- 25:48Speaker 1: But you know, I hear that, I hear that. But
- 25:53Speaker 1: but also when it has that ending, I think a
- 25:56Speaker 1: movie like that, when when it doesn't end happy, that's
- 25:59Speaker 1: the movies you tend to think think about I think
- 26:01Speaker 1: about that. I can't believe they did that. I can't believe.
- 26:04Speaker 1: You know, how do they do that? You know, whenever
- 26:07Speaker 1: you watch a Jurassic Park movie, for instance, you know, okay,
- 26:10Speaker 1: the fat guys dying, the balding guy's dying, but like
- 26:12Speaker 1: the kids are gonna live and good looking, you know, Chris,
- 26:15Speaker 1: You're not gonna kill Chris.
- 26:15Speaker 2: Bra like Fasten and various Okay, the guys driving the
- 26:18Speaker 2: cars will win. Yeah, driving the the you know, the
- 26:21Speaker 2: the worst cars will lose.
- 26:22Speaker 1: That's what I've always wanted to make a movie. And
- 26:24Speaker 1: I've actually mentioned this before.
- 26:25Speaker 2: Yeah, surprise you haven't, Like, you know, I want a movie.
- 26:29Speaker 1: I want a movie where the biggest asshole is the
- 26:32Speaker 1: only guy to survive, just like a racist, misogonistic guy,
- 26:36Speaker 1: because no one would know.
- 26:39Speaker 2: Yeah, and in the very last second you kill like
- 26:40Speaker 2: the final girl leader. Yeah, that would be amazing.
- 26:43Speaker 3: I have the feeling I've watched that before.
- 26:46Speaker 2: I don't think which one do you think?
- 26:48Speaker 3: Like a like a really bad character, just like staying
- 26:51Speaker 3: alive until the end?
- 26:52Speaker 2: Right? I mean we watched Righteous Gemstones, which was kind
- 26:55Speaker 2: of like that. All none the characters are redeemable in
- 26:57Speaker 2: that show.
- 26:58Speaker 3: I guess you're right. I was gonna mention like freaking
- 27:00Speaker 3: like a bad endings. They upset me. So I don't
- 27:03Speaker 3: like this.
- 27:04Speaker 1: Is there is there a movie that you guys think
- 27:06Speaker 1: of that you have to watch Halloween season.
- 27:08Speaker 2: I've been showing her all these slasher movies because she
- 27:10Speaker 2: hates slashers, and I'm go like, no, no, no, slash are
- 27:12Speaker 2: the best movies to watch during Halloween.
- 27:14Speaker 1: They get straight to the.
- 27:16Speaker 2: Point, you know what I mean, and you can watch
- 27:17Speaker 2: the next one and you're not thinking about like, oh,
- 27:18Speaker 2: what's gonna happen next? Like you, No, you don't have
- 27:20Speaker 2: to watch all the Friday the thirteenth or all Diame
- 27:22Speaker 2: Man on Streets. You just watch the coolest one. In
- 27:24Speaker 2: my opinion, I don't know.
- 27:25Speaker 1: I'll just watch montages of All Murder exactly.
- 27:28Speaker 3: You can't beat Nightmare Before Christmas, though, that is my movie.
- 27:31Speaker 2: I haven't actually seen that at all. What I've never
- 27:33Speaker 2: seen that movie.
- 27:34Speaker 1: It's in theaters right now.
- 27:35Speaker 2: I've been telling you, yea, I'm talking about about that,
- 27:36Speaker 2: like we should go watch theaters.
- 27:37Speaker 1: I've never seen, but it's great.
- 27:39Speaker 3: I would love to watch it on theaters. It's going
- 27:40Speaker 3: to be spectacular.
- 27:41Speaker 1: It's one that you could actually, you know, watch from
- 27:43Speaker 1: now chill Christmas. You know, you can watch it October
- 27:47Speaker 1: killed like that.
- 27:48Speaker 2: I don't know how you found out that concept, Like
- 27:49Speaker 2: I don't make a movie that's like watchable throughout four
- 27:53Speaker 2: solid months.
- 27:53Speaker 1: Yeah. But you know the funny thing is he didn't
- 27:55Speaker 1: even direct that movie produced. Yeah it's Tim Burton.
- 27:58Speaker 2: Why is his name all the like?
- 28:00Speaker 1: Because he's the guy presenting the movie. It's his story,
- 28:04Speaker 1: but he did not direct it, and there's actually a
- 28:06Speaker 1: lot of controversy.
- 28:07Speaker 2: I found Ou'm gonna fant Timburan pretty recently. I found
- 28:09Speaker 2: all the things he did and how silly the Beetlejuice
- 28:12Speaker 2: was when it came out, how you know what I mean,
- 28:14Speaker 2: all the little things he put in there.
- 28:15Speaker 1: A lot of creepy stuff there. But let's get to
- 28:17Speaker 1: the main event. We gotta talk about Terrifier three, and
- 28:19Speaker 1: we got to talk about the substance, and we got
- 28:20Speaker 1: less than twenty minutes, so let's get right to Terrifier three.
- 28:23Speaker 1: So I know, Ivanna, you are very adamant that this
- 28:26Speaker 1: is a good movie. I'm gonna let you have the floor.
- 28:29Speaker 1: What what aboutist movie did you like?
- 28:32Speaker 3: Well? First of all, I love the character that must
- 28:35Speaker 3: be the main thing, Art the clown. Art the Clown. Yes,
- 28:38Speaker 3: he's a character that I actually really like, just because,
- 28:41Speaker 3: like I never really grew up with a slasher villain
- 28:43Speaker 3: that I actually liked. I never really care about Chucky
- 28:46Speaker 3: the screen series and about Jason or any of those. Honestly,
- 28:51Speaker 3: I feel like since I was able to really like
- 28:53Speaker 3: start the beginning, of this, like, uh, like I guess
- 28:57Speaker 3: I franchise or whatever. I was able to start it,
- 28:59Speaker 3: I would able to get involved with the character more.
- 29:02Speaker 3: And I just like how he's like a demonic clown.
- 29:05Speaker 1: I I will have no issue with that character of
- 29:08Speaker 1: Arthur Clown. I think he's a fantastic villain. He's got
- 29:11Speaker 1: a unique look to him. I think he's he's evil,
- 29:14Speaker 1: but he also makes you laugh a bit, so you
- 29:16Speaker 1: could put him in the same vein as a Freddy
- 29:18Speaker 1: Krueger or Chucky exactly.
- 29:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:20Speaker 1: But the issue is that I have is the surrounding
- 29:23Speaker 1: plot with him. I don't really know too much about him,
- 29:27Speaker 1: and not necessarily that you need to know everything to
- 29:29Speaker 1: sometimes less there's more, but I wish we figured out
- 29:33Speaker 1: and maybe I'm missing it, maybe I'm not into the
- 29:35Speaker 1: lore too much, but what is this guy's motivation? What
- 29:38Speaker 1: is the purpose of Arthur Clown?
- 29:39Speaker 2: So I think you're definitely like missing out only because
- 29:42Speaker 2: they haven't told us everything quite yet, like they want
- 29:45Speaker 2: this to be one big cinematic like masterpiece, like we've
- 29:47Speaker 2: gotten hints throughout every movie. But you know, you explain
- 29:50Speaker 2: how terrified too, Like you know off the area you
- 29:52Speaker 2: said how long it was or how like annoying that was.
- 29:56Speaker 2: But the reason why I was so long is because
- 29:57Speaker 2: of how much Plotter really you know, gave, you know,
- 30:00Speaker 2: so like you know, you asked me what the motivation
- 30:02Speaker 2: is on this on the sheet and I thought about it,
- 30:04Speaker 2: and I was like, well, you know, Art the Clown,
- 30:05Speaker 2: much like Michael Myers, is like the entity of evil, right,
- 30:09Speaker 2: like you know in all Hollows, Eve. It's just the
- 30:12Speaker 2: original time where he came out and appeared on the screen.
- 30:15Speaker 2: He was always someone who was like immortal. Basically, he
- 30:18Speaker 2: never was a real person. He was just like the
- 30:20Speaker 2: embodiment of evil. And then this last movie we find
- 30:22Speaker 2: out that he's also maybe a demonic type of person,
- 30:24Speaker 2: you know what I mean, So he's somewhat.
- 30:25Speaker 3: Of demon Well it was hinted that he was human
- 30:28Speaker 3: at some point. Yeah, from what I've seen, because I
- 30:31Speaker 3: love watching like you know, like dissections of the movies. Right, apparently,
- 30:36Speaker 3: Art the Clown starts off as human in the first movie,
- 30:40Speaker 3: and you know how he gets killed at the end
- 30:41Speaker 3: of that movie, right then he comes back to life,
- 30:44Speaker 3: and that's when he comes back to life as a
- 30:45Speaker 3: demonic creature. And yes, when he sees that little girl
- 30:48Speaker 3: who is the kind of like the entity that wanted
- 30:50Speaker 3: to keep Art the Clown alive because he's the pale.
- 30:53Speaker 2: Faced girl is the one.
- 30:55Speaker 3: Yeah, so that's now he's immortal and now he he
- 30:57Speaker 3: he can cause some mayhem.
- 30:58Speaker 2: And then in this last movie, you saw that the
- 31:01Speaker 2: father of Sienna, who was the main protagonist of the movie,
- 31:06Speaker 2: he somewhat had a connection to Art the Clown or
- 31:09Speaker 2: was seeing the future happenings, what was gonna happen to
- 31:13Speaker 2: her and her his family, and he crafted this weapon
- 31:16Speaker 2: for Sienna, and it was apparently forged by you know,
- 31:20Speaker 2: an angel, like specifically, like the Virgin Mary is what
- 31:24Speaker 2: it's what you saw in the Terrifier three movie. So
- 31:26Speaker 2: there's a lot of story going on that I think
- 31:28Speaker 2: you're missing justin because like it's really hard the pieces.
- 31:31Speaker 1: I haven't actually seen the first movie because I didn't
- 31:33Speaker 1: even know it was a movie, you know, it was
- 31:35Speaker 1: just it was just Terrifier two was in theaters. It
- 31:37Speaker 1: was like, I don't even know what Terrifier one is.
- 31:38Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, no, Terrifier. It wasn't called Terifier. Its just
- 31:41Speaker 2: called Terrifier. And yeah it was I don't know if
- 31:43Speaker 2: it went straight DVD, but I think it might have
- 31:44Speaker 2: been in select theaters because again it's a very low
- 31:47Speaker 2: budget movie. It doesn't look the best. Quite honestly, it
- 31:50Speaker 2: wasn't the best either.
- 31:51Speaker 3: Like let me let me say Terrifier wasn't like the
- 31:55Speaker 3: best as in plot wise, it had almost no plot
- 31:58Speaker 3: the characters who were not up and that's exactly why
- 32:01Speaker 3: the director wanted to develop the characters in the second movie,
- 32:04Speaker 3: and that's exactly why we got Cna, which honestly is
- 32:06Speaker 3: one of my favorite like like main characters like girls.
- 32:10Speaker 1: Yeah, well she's she's very much in the same vein
- 32:14Speaker 1: of as a Sydney maybe from Uh. That's good stream
- 32:17Speaker 1: because she's not like a damsel in distress. She's gonna
- 32:20Speaker 1: fight back, she's gonna try and you know, she also.
- 32:23Speaker 2: Isn't like heavily sexualized like most of these like girl
- 32:26Speaker 2: final girls in the movies. You know.
- 32:28Speaker 3: Yeah, that's something I like.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Which is a negative I have written.
- 32:32Speaker 2: No, But also Terrifier one, I think to mention that
- 32:35Speaker 2: it also introduces the character that you see a lot
- 32:37Speaker 2: of Terrifier three, Veronica. You see Terrifier one has the
- 32:40Speaker 2: victim in the very end who's like completely destroyed her face,
- 32:45Speaker 2: and like it's so she's in the first she's in
- 32:46Speaker 2: the first movie, she's the victim of the first movie.
- 32:48Speaker 2: She appears only a little bit in the second movie,
- 32:50Speaker 2: and now she's all in the third movie, and she
- 32:53Speaker 2: serves as this person who's looking for a body, much
- 32:55Speaker 2: like how Chucky is looking for a new body to
- 32:58Speaker 2: possess and take over because the body she has is
- 33:00Speaker 2: just mutilated and destroyed, and she wants to become like
- 33:02Speaker 2: stronger or just to have a new life because clearly
- 33:05Speaker 2: she's like affected by the fact that she's very like
- 33:07Speaker 2: you know what, she thinks to be ugly and horrendous looking.
- 33:10Speaker 2: Now here's Here's.
- 33:11Speaker 1: One of the things I don't like about the series
- 33:14Speaker 1: is I don't think it's visually interesting to look at.
- 33:18Speaker 3: You know.
- 33:18Speaker 1: I was actually disappointed with the movie Long Legs that
- 33:21Speaker 1: came out earlier this year.
- 33:22Speaker 2: Oh yeah, but visually that's a hot take also.
- 33:25Speaker 1: But visually it's a very good looking movie. The lighting,
- 33:27Speaker 1: the shadows, the camera angles. This seems very cheap in
- 33:31Speaker 1: that sense. It looks like it is a direct to
- 33:34Speaker 1: video type of movie. It doesn't have that same and
- 33:37Speaker 1: the budget is probably equal to Long Legs. But I
- 33:40Speaker 1: guess so much for Terrified.
- 33:43Speaker 2: Yeah, like not even that high, which is very shocking
- 33:47Speaker 2: because you would think with all the prosthetics used and
- 33:49Speaker 2: like the blood and yeah, just everything that was in
- 33:52Speaker 2: this movie, we think it would cost some more.
- 33:53Speaker 1: But it made a lot of money.
- 33:55Speaker 2: It made so much money even though it's not even
- 33:57Speaker 2: gonna be in theaters for that long since it is
- 33:59Speaker 2: like a not rated movie and you know, highly crass.
- 34:02Speaker 1: Long Legs was not an expensive movie either. Really, it
- 34:05Speaker 1: was under ten million dollars.
- 34:06Speaker 2: And that's that's surprising for a movie like that.
- 34:08Speaker 1: And that's with getting Nicholas KG.
- 34:10Speaker 2: He's a big budget guy.
- 34:10Speaker 1: He's a big budget guy. Compared to anybody from Terrifier,
- 34:14Speaker 1: it's pretty much all unknowns at this point. Here, here's
- 34:17Speaker 1: another just aspect of Terrifier that maybe you guys could
- 34:21Speaker 1: talk about. Undisensitized to violence. At this point, I've seen everything.
- 34:25Speaker 1: I've seen real life violence. You know, we watch mixed
- 34:29Speaker 1: martial arts and you see people's legs get snapped in
- 34:32Speaker 1: the NFL. I've seen wrestling matches where people are stapling
- 34:38Speaker 1: and light tubes and all the stuff that's happening. Yeah,
- 34:41Speaker 1: so when there is violence in movies nowadays.
- 34:43Speaker 2: It's not only a selling point.
- 34:44Speaker 1: No, to me, it's just it's not It's not what
- 34:48Speaker 1: it once was.
- 34:49Speaker 2: It was definitely the main selling point of these movies.
- 34:51Speaker 2: I feel like with each movie getting bigger than the last,
- 34:55Speaker 2: you see.
- 34:55Speaker 3: The violence that's in Terrifier, though, I feel like it's
- 34:58Speaker 3: very much artistic, I don't know, interesting from a point
- 35:01Speaker 3: of view of somebody who likes like drawing or crafting
- 35:05Speaker 3: and things like that. Like, I feel it's awesome, like
- 35:07Speaker 3: how the producer team was able to develop these bodies
- 35:11Speaker 3: and like the prosthetics and all that. Like that takes
- 35:13Speaker 3: a long time in a lot of work and a
- 35:16Speaker 3: lot of like you know, like making it look as
- 35:18Speaker 3: realistic as possible, and I feel like they did achieve that. Honestly,
- 35:21Speaker 3: that's kind of like my favorite part of the movie.
- 35:23Speaker 3: Not in the sense that I'm a sick.
- 35:25Speaker 1: Person, but no, I mean I'm with you.
- 35:28Speaker 2: Artistically.
- 35:29Speaker 3: I love the work they put.
- 35:30Speaker 2: Yeah, although although kills are all just machetes or like
- 35:33Speaker 2: crossbows or spears.
- 35:35Speaker 1: Every now and then he'll you know, free someone's head
- 35:37Speaker 1: and smash it.
- 35:38Speaker 2: Yeah, but the best days of movie.
- 35:39Speaker 1: Although I am desensitized to it. That to me actually
- 35:42Speaker 1: is the best part about it. I do see it
- 35:45Speaker 1: as a form of art. And the prosthetics, you know,
- 35:48Speaker 1: the the lack of CGI. They're creating this. They are
- 35:52Speaker 1: making sets, they are making lavish costumes. The blood is there,
- 35:55Speaker 1: it's not a CGI blood, which you do see in
- 35:57Speaker 1: a lot of movies. So I do appreciate that. I
- 36:00Speaker 1: will say that the acting isn't the best. I think
- 36:03Speaker 1: Sienna is actually the actress who plays her. She She
- 36:06Speaker 1: and Art the clown or by far the true best.
- 36:09Speaker 2: Played by Lauren Laverera excuse me, Yeah.
- 36:13Speaker 1: But everyone else comes across like they're in like a
- 36:16Speaker 1: Disney show.
- 36:17Speaker 2: I'll tell you what. This Terrified three had one of
- 36:20Speaker 2: the worst characters of the whole franchise in that cheerleader girl,
- 36:23Speaker 2: the one that was trying to get with the podcast. Yes,
- 36:25Speaker 2: maybe it made me hate being someone that wants to
- 36:28Speaker 2: do a podcast because I was like, is that what
- 36:29Speaker 2: I'm gonna look like? Because this girl wouldn't stop making
- 36:31Speaker 2: it all about like it's just such a caricature, you
- 36:34Speaker 2: know what I mean. She was really bad portrayed or
- 36:36Speaker 2: I don't know if it was the script they gave her.
- 36:37Speaker 2: I don't know if that was the point of that,
- 36:38Speaker 2: but yeah, I think it's the point that it was
- 36:41Speaker 2: rough every time she was on the scene.
- 36:42Speaker 3: Well, I think it's trying to speak about like, you know,
- 36:44Speaker 3: like podcast culture and like just in general insensitivity. Yeah,
- 36:48Speaker 3: the true crime people, Uh, the insensitivity that comes with
- 36:52Speaker 3: talking about other people's debts and uh, just like horrible
- 36:56Speaker 3: situations that we're in as in like some type of entertainment.
- 37:00Speaker 3: So I feel like it was like kind of like
- 37:02Speaker 3: the best option to just kill off that character and
- 37:05Speaker 3: just give it exactly what she wanted because she she
- 37:07Speaker 3: wanted to know how it was to be right in
- 37:09Speaker 3: front of Arctic Clown, and so I thought that was
- 37:11Speaker 3: pretty pretty funny, honestly, in a good jag sorry jab
- 37:15Speaker 3: at the true crime community, because honestly, it's getting out
- 37:18Speaker 3: of control.
- 37:19Speaker 1: Even not even true crime community, the whole world. You know,
- 37:23Speaker 1: I'm not going to get too much into it, but
- 37:24Speaker 1: the singer Liam Page just passed away, and man, you
- 37:28Speaker 1: know TMZ is releasing pictures and stuff like that. So
- 37:32Speaker 1: I mean it's it's sort of playing into that culture
- 37:34Speaker 1: of everybody wants to hear these and see these disgusting things. So,
- 37:40Speaker 1: you know, I think the character is purposely written that way.
- 37:42Speaker 1: But someone like the brother in this movie, I think
- 37:45Speaker 1: is a terrible actor.
- 37:46Speaker 2: To get my favorite character, your favorite terrible actor. Terrible actor, Oh,
- 37:50Speaker 2: terrible actor. Yeah, I think you can get.
- 37:52Speaker 3: That's my little brother. That's exactly what I feeled when
- 37:54Speaker 3: I watched Terrifier too. I was like, Oh my god,
- 37:56Speaker 3: that's my little brother.
- 37:57Speaker 1: Now. I don't think we're gonna get to some spoilers.
- 38:00Speaker 1: I don't think the character.
- 38:01Speaker 2: Is dead, Honestly, I don't know if I feel like
- 38:04Speaker 2: he just got scripted out because of the fact that
- 38:07Speaker 2: like he's either busy with like I apparently I learned
- 38:10Speaker 2: more about him, right. His name is Elliott Fullan Fullham Fulham,
- 38:14Speaker 2: and he's apparently as well as a musician as he
- 38:16Speaker 2: is an actor. You know, he's new in this acting
- 38:18Speaker 2: stuff like this is again this is a very like,
- 38:20Speaker 2: you know, homegrown movie. And he was in the second
- 38:23Speaker 2: one and he was like, well, now you have to
- 38:24Speaker 2: be in the third one. I don't know if it
- 38:26Speaker 2: is that he doesn't want to be in the movies.
- 38:27Speaker 2: I don't know if he's busy with like type of
- 38:29Speaker 2: like like let's it called the timing of the of
- 38:31Speaker 2: the schedule. But yeah, no, I hope to see him
- 38:34Speaker 2: not dead. I really hope not, because it's kind of
- 38:36Speaker 2: a big negative to this movie. And well, they did
- 38:37Speaker 2: really show me out. They never showed his death. That's
- 38:40Speaker 2: why in movies you always have to see the dead
- 38:43Speaker 2: body to actually believe it. So I think he'll come
- 38:45Speaker 2: back in some sense, even if it's in a flashback.
- 38:48Speaker 2: I don't think that's the last we'll see of that character.
- 38:50Speaker 2: I really hope not.
- 38:51Speaker 1: But this movie did set up that they are making
- 38:53Speaker 1: a fourth movie. I know they. Director already announced it.
- 38:56Speaker 1: He said he might make a few of them. So
- 38:58Speaker 1: we'll see where this, you know where this franchise goes.
- 39:01Speaker 1: But I will say that I am happy that a
- 39:04Speaker 1: an original story, an original creation, even though it's the
- 39:08Speaker 1: third movie. But something original. You know, we're now regurgitating.
- 39:11Speaker 1: This isn't Friday the Thirteenth, Part forty three. This isn't
- 39:14Speaker 1: another reboot of Halloween like.
- 39:16Speaker 2: We're getting the remake of Chucky with Ai.
- 39:18Speaker 1: We're getting something fresh.
- 39:20Speaker 3: So that's exactly where I love it. I love anything fresh,
- 39:23Speaker 3: like anything that actually shows me something different, that isn't
- 39:25Speaker 3: like the last like five movies we've watched for the
- 39:27Speaker 3: couple like ten years, Like.
- 39:29Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, all those like Conjuring and all those movies,
- 39:33Speaker 1: they all blend together.
- 39:34Speaker 2: And so happy that that sub genre stopped. We're not
- 39:37Speaker 2: seeing too many possessed movies anymow.
- 39:38Speaker 1: They're the worst. Every possession movie that's not The Exorcist
- 39:41Speaker 1: is terrible, Like.
- 39:42Speaker 2: The Nun too, is atrocious, kind of that movie.
- 39:44Speaker 1: Horrible, horrible. Let's get to one of my favorite movies
- 39:47Speaker 1: of the year, probably my favorite movie of the year,
- 39:49Speaker 1: The Substance, which I thought was a beautiful looking movie visually,
- 39:53Speaker 1: this is the type of movie that I love to watch.
- 39:56Speaker 1: The practical effects are there. You got these great prosthetics
- 39:59Speaker 1: top ten your sound like the music and the audio
- 40:03Speaker 1: and the visuals of this movie meant to be seen
- 40:06Speaker 1: on the big screens.
- 40:07Speaker 2: It's very well produced movie overall.
- 40:08Speaker 1: And it's you know, it's really poking fun of the
- 40:12Speaker 1: culture of today where women really might not feel that
- 40:16Speaker 1: especially actresses. Actresses have a shelf life, and it's it's
- 40:20Speaker 1: always been talked about how men could be leading men
- 40:23Speaker 1: into their sixties and tom cruises, you know, in movies
- 40:26Speaker 1: he's dating like a thirty year old and he's playing
- 40:28Speaker 1: that he's like in his early forties even though he's
- 40:30Speaker 1: sixty years old.
- 40:31Speaker 2: The fact they got me more for this is so perfect,
- 40:34Speaker 2: Like that's amazing to me. They got Demi Moore, who's
- 40:36Speaker 2: been in so many other movies who we haven't seen since,
- 40:39Speaker 2: which is really like, well, hold on, this is kind
- 40:40Speaker 2: of like a many a reason as to why we
- 40:42Speaker 2: haven't seen her, Like this isn't this is like a
- 40:44Speaker 2: real like eye opening thing.
- 40:45Speaker 1: Yeah, it's definitely a role that she I wish I
- 40:48Speaker 1: could talk to her, but this is definitely something that's
- 40:50Speaker 1: probably spoke to her.
- 40:51Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure.
- 40:52Speaker 3: She actually like developed the character to like as like
- 40:55Speaker 3: an actress as well, So there's a lot of them
- 40:57Speaker 3: more into this character as well, like being portrayed in
- 41:00Speaker 3: the movie, which honestly gives me like more of a
- 41:02Speaker 3: perspective of like what she's been going through, Like is
- 41:05Speaker 3: this actually like you know, how she's been feeling and
- 41:07Speaker 3: how deeply it ties in with the movie.
- 41:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 41:10Speaker 1: So the basic plot of the Substances, there's an actress
- 41:13Speaker 1: who was famous in the eighties and then it's it's
- 41:15Speaker 1: modern day and she's basically being phased out of her job. Essentially,
- 41:19Speaker 1: I'm assuming she started out as an actress, but I
- 41:21Speaker 1: guess for the last couple of years she's doing like
- 41:23Speaker 1: a Richard Simmons exercise thing.
- 41:25Speaker 2: Do you see the opening as her star being put
- 41:28Speaker 2: onto the you know, the Hollywood Holly whatever it is,
- 41:32Speaker 2: And so then you see that become like slowly weathered away,
- 41:35Speaker 2: and then it opens up you finally see Demmi Moore,
- 41:38Speaker 2: her character Elizabeth Sparkle, playing like what Justin just said,
- 41:41Speaker 2: this workout influencer type of thing. And this movie is
- 41:44Speaker 2: about the eighties, right or is it? Is it not
- 41:46Speaker 2: in the eighties.
- 41:47Speaker 1: The early part is in the eighties, and then it
- 41:48Speaker 1: flash forwards to modern day, but it has an eighties estetically, Yeah,
- 41:52Speaker 1: the music and the visuals and the costumes all our eighties.
- 41:56Speaker 1: But it definitely is modern day because there is modern
- 41:58Speaker 1: technology throughout it. But the basic plot is anymore, she's
- 42:01Speaker 1: being phased out, she's getting older, so she somehow finds
- 42:06Speaker 1: out that there's this miracle drug, the substance that could
- 42:09Speaker 1: make her young again. But basically what happens is her
- 42:12Speaker 1: body goes like just numb and falls to the ground
- 42:17Speaker 1: and a separate body comes out of her body. Yep,
- 42:20Speaker 1: and that is played by Margaret Margaret Quayley, who is
- 42:23Speaker 1: brilliant in this movie and.
- 42:25Speaker 2: She was in recently in The Kinds of Kindness, So yeah,
- 42:27Speaker 2: and that movie. She's also once pinds on Hollywood as
- 42:29Speaker 2: one of the Charlie Manson girls.
- 42:31Speaker 1: Yeah, she's got a big future, I think for sure.
- 42:34Speaker 1: But essentially the main plot is there are these two characters.
- 42:38Speaker 1: They're both that character, Elizabeth Sparkle, but she creates an
- 42:41Speaker 1: alter ego she gets she gets the job that Demi
- 42:45Speaker 1: Moore was once had, her character once had, and they
- 42:48Speaker 1: sort of go back and forth. You can only be
- 42:50Speaker 1: that character for a number.
- 42:52Speaker 2: Of but they're they're reminded at the end of day
- 42:54Speaker 2: that they are one. There are no two people. They
- 42:57Speaker 2: are one, yes, Like they're a semiotic relationship in a
- 43:00Speaker 2: And like I.
- 43:00Speaker 3: Liked how that was mentioned honestly, like multiple times. It
- 43:03Speaker 3: was like reminding us, like the audience too, because like
- 43:06Speaker 3: it felt like we were kind of like in the
- 43:08Speaker 3: character's head of like just seeing like people attacking each other,
- 43:12Speaker 3: and then the once she calls, we're like, oh wait, right,
- 43:15Speaker 3: they're the same, Like it kind of goes back into that.
- 43:17Speaker 3: I also really liked actually the the allegory of like
- 43:20Speaker 3: the brutalization of women's bodies. Yeah, I thought that was
- 43:24Speaker 3: really like it really does. When I watched this movie,
- 43:26Speaker 3: it really hit home, honestly, because the theme is it
- 43:28Speaker 3: goes beyond just being like a I guess like the
- 43:32Speaker 3: shelf life on Hollywood, right, It goes more deeply into
- 43:36Speaker 3: how women see themselves and see ourselves as some type
- 43:39Speaker 3: of product that goes affective with ages.
- 43:41Speaker 2: There was a really good scene where she's about to
- 43:43Speaker 2: go on the date after all with someone who she
- 43:45Speaker 2: thought lesser of herself because he was this average Joe
- 43:47Speaker 2: who's older now balding, you know, just simple, simple guy.
- 43:52Speaker 2: But but he called her beautiful and so she was
- 43:54Speaker 2: ready to go and have a day with him because no,
- 43:56Speaker 2: she didn't feel that way by like herself. Like she's
- 43:58Speaker 2: in the lowest point in the movie and she's ready.
- 44:00Speaker 1: I was just very self conscious about the way she looks.
- 44:02Speaker 1: And again, I mean, Ivan I made a great point.
- 44:04Speaker 1: It's not just about Hollywood. It's just about and I
- 44:07Speaker 1: think it could also play into two men as well.
- 44:09Speaker 1: I mean men also. I think in this day and
- 44:11Speaker 1: age feel that short of way. But but this is
- 44:14Speaker 1: just a fantastic movie, so well crafted. And then the
- 44:17Speaker 1: final act, and we're not gonna get into spoilers, but
- 44:19Speaker 1: this movie goes bad shit crazy. It pulls no punches
- 44:23Speaker 1: at the end of this movie. And if you're a
- 44:25Speaker 1: fan of practical effects and gore and and and and
- 44:28Speaker 1: great storytelling, I couldn't recommend this movie anymore.
- 44:32Speaker 3: It really reminded me of The Fly. Yes, yeah, I
- 44:35Speaker 3: feel like that should have been it must have been
- 44:37Speaker 3: an expert in inspiration for how they met, Like did
- 44:40Speaker 3: at least the final scene. I thought that was kind
- 44:42Speaker 3: of like, yes, really resemble The Fly. Yeah. I was
- 44:47Speaker 3: gonna mention also the fact that that scene that Antonia
- 44:50Speaker 3: mentioned right where she stops herself midway from going out
- 44:54Speaker 3: the door, Yes, that is actually that has happened to me,
- 44:57Speaker 3: And I can assure you that has happened to a
- 44:59Speaker 3: lot of women who are insecure with their looks or
- 45:02Speaker 3: they're just insecure about themselves.
- 45:04Speaker 1: I'll tell you this as a man, that that has
- 45:06Speaker 1: happened to me. I'm not even jogging. It's legitimately happened
- 45:10Speaker 1: to me. Where people don't like the way they look
- 45:12Speaker 1: I have like a form of body dysmorphia where I
- 45:14Speaker 1: don't like certain aspects of the way I look. So,
- 45:17Speaker 1: I mean, I thought this this movie, I wish more
- 45:21Speaker 1: people saw it. It was in and out of theaters.
- 45:23Speaker 1: It's already out of theaters, and I think it needed
- 45:26Speaker 1: to be seen in theaters because visually and the sound,
- 45:28Speaker 1: they're so good with this film.
- 45:29Speaker 2: It's definitely not a stream and you you have to
- 45:31Speaker 2: kintch just in theaters. But if you haven't, that's okay too,
- 45:33Speaker 2: because just whatever you gotta do, just watch this movie.
- 45:35Speaker 2: It's it's it's nothing you've seen before. Honestly, even if
- 45:38Speaker 2: you've seen body horror movies, it's it's nothing like that.
- 45:41Speaker 2: It's it's a whole different story then in my opinion,
- 45:43Speaker 2: like justin you mentioned earlier exactly what it is about,
- 45:45Speaker 2: and it's so on the nose, making fun of Hollywood.
- 45:48Speaker 2: But most of the times when when movies go on
- 45:50Speaker 2: the nose, it just doesn't work right. You know, there's
- 45:53Speaker 2: only a few examples you've seen it work well, like Scream.
- 45:54Speaker 1: Yeah, this didn't feel like it was forced, it was
- 45:56Speaker 1: pushing an agenda, but clearly it had an agenda, and
- 45:58Speaker 1: I think it did it in a brilliant way, but
- 46:00Speaker 1: that jokes you're gonna do it.
- 46:01Speaker 2: We are.
- 46:02Speaker 1: We are out of time on this edition of Film Reel.

- 46:18Speaker 1: scratched the surface on this So for Antonio Ivanna, my
