- 0:01Speaker 1: Hey, we've got with Magorfield back on a Friday here
- 0:04Speaker 1: on the sea.
- 0:06Speaker 2: How you been good, guys? What's going on?
- 0:09Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 0:09Speaker 1: Living doing a show every day, talking ball, looking at
- 0:12Speaker 1: some surprises, looking at some disappointments, getting closer and closer
- 0:16Speaker 1: Memorial Day, where I feel like I can actually not
- 0:18Speaker 1: use the I know it's early but phrase because if
- 0:23Speaker 1: you don't, you get smacked for it. But you know,
- 0:26Speaker 1: actually with that, I'm gonna make sure we have plenty
- 0:29Speaker 1: of time here to get into the first segment, which
- 0:32Speaker 1: includes two of the top teams in baseball. And I'll
- 0:34Speaker 1: try and refrain from saying that statement. So we'll do
- 0:38Speaker 1: that coming up in just a second here talking about
- 0:41Speaker 1: two of the top teams in the National League. Let's
- 0:44Speaker 1: jump into it. Shall we charge about? We are charging
- 0:50Speaker 1: the mountain. We're talking about the Braves and the Dodgers
- 0:53Speaker 1: meeting up this weekend. Kratz, what do you have for us?
- 0:55Speaker 1: Twenty six and twelve Atlanta twenty three and fourteen?
- 0:59Speaker 3: LA.
- 0:59Speaker 1: I think we expected La La to be in this spot, Atlanta.
- 1:03Speaker 1: More of this surprise. It's not like this is the
- 1:06Speaker 1: quote playoff preview the Braves, for example, tonight go with
- 1:11Speaker 1: Chris Saale against Emmit Sheen. Otani's not pitching in this
- 1:14Speaker 1: series this weekend. Neither is Yamamoto, but we get to
- 1:17Speaker 1: see two of the better teams in baseball top records
- 1:20Speaker 1: through Thursday. Braves and Cubs are twenty six and twelve.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Yankees have that same record in the American League, and
- 1:26Speaker 1: then the Rays at twenty five and twelve. Dodgers, you know,
- 1:28Speaker 1: not far down from that list too. But what are
- 1:31Speaker 1: you looking for this weekend, man.
- 1:34Speaker 4: The same thing I want to see every game. Yeah,
- 1:36Speaker 4: I love seeing pitching matchups. And you said, oh, Otani
- 1:39Speaker 4: and Yamamoto aren't pitching.
- 1:41Speaker 3: That's fine.
- 1:42Speaker 4: I want to see dangers. I want to see the
- 1:44Speaker 4: ball getting banged around the yard. And I know, Show
- 1:46Speaker 4: Hey's not hitting as well as he as he usually does.
- 1:49Speaker 4: He's got a lot on his play. Let's just relax
- 1:52Speaker 4: on show Hey. I'm sure he will be fine. But
- 1:54Speaker 4: going into this you have the two best offenses in
- 1:57Speaker 4: the game, and you have intriguing storylines. Strider's coming back
- 2:03Speaker 4: sales continue to add to to his resume.
- 2:07Speaker 3: Elder is the one for me.
- 2:09Speaker 4: When you get to the Sunday game, Bryce Elders had
- 2:12Speaker 4: an incredible start to the season. How does he do
- 2:16Speaker 4: against the vaunted Dodgers. And I'm not saying that this
- 2:19Speaker 4: is like a measuring stick and oh this is If
- 2:22Speaker 4: the Braves lose two out of three, they're cooked. They're
- 2:25Speaker 4: not as good as the Dodgers. No, we saw it
- 2:27Speaker 4: last year. I think the Brewers beat the Dodgers six times.
- 2:30Speaker 4: They were six to oho for the season. I think
- 2:33Speaker 4: it's a measuring stick to just see how these lineups
- 2:38Speaker 4: can attack each other. I'm not worried about like Robleski's
- 2:41Speaker 4: probably gonna deal so I think the Dodgers win Sunday,
- 2:45Speaker 4: but I could really care less. I want to see
- 2:46Speaker 4: how these lineups attack each other. I think Freddie Freeman
- 2:49Speaker 4: needs to start start getting going because if show he's
- 2:52Speaker 4: not getting going, Freddy's got to be there. I think
- 2:54Speaker 4: Kyle Tucker needs to like get to his salary status,
- 2:59Speaker 4: like he's getting paid one hundred billions of dollars and
- 3:03Speaker 4: he's not quite come on yet. And I think Drake
- 3:06Speaker 4: Baldwin has come onto the scene after his Rookie of
- 3:08Speaker 4: the Year. I think the Braves have been doing all
- 3:11Speaker 4: this offense without Acunya, and they're going to continue to
- 3:14Speaker 4: do without a Cunya.
- 3:15Speaker 3: But don't tell.
- 3:16Speaker 4: Braves fans they won a World Series without Ronald Acunya.
- 3:23Speaker 1: That's true. I forgot about that. Wait, you know these
- 3:25Speaker 1: guys pretty well too. Yeah.
- 3:29Speaker 2: I think it's a bigger series for the Braves than
- 3:30Speaker 2: it is the Dodgers, just because the Braves that's more
- 3:33Speaker 2: necessarily projected to be have the record that they have
- 3:38Speaker 2: right now. They're playing incredible baseball, and so I think
- 3:41Speaker 2: it's I think, if you want to look at it
- 3:43Speaker 2: from a who's more important to aspect, I think it's
- 3:47Speaker 2: the Braves the Dodgers. It's almost like you kind of
- 3:51Speaker 2: got the feel last year they just were just trying
- 3:53Speaker 2: to get to the playoffs. They did the regular season
- 3:55Speaker 2: was just what it was. They get to the playoffs
- 3:57Speaker 2: and they kind of turn it on. It kind of
- 3:58Speaker 2: seems like that's that same sort of mantra that they
- 4:01Speaker 2: have this year, is we know we're good enough to
- 4:04Speaker 2: get to one point sixty two and be where we
- 4:06Speaker 2: need to be, and so we're just gonna kind of
- 4:08Speaker 2: make sure that we got everything everything going by then.
- 4:11Speaker 2: And I just the Braves are They've looked so good,
- 4:16Speaker 2: and you're right, Cratzy. It's I think it's this series
- 4:19Speaker 2: is more about the players finding some confidence, whether it's
- 4:24Speaker 2: Bryce Elder pitching on Sunday, getting these guys out, getting
- 4:27Speaker 2: that confidence, whether it's the hitters facing Sasaki and Roblowski
- 4:34Speaker 2: and and and seeing these guys and saying, Okay, that's
- 4:36Speaker 2: what that pitch looks like and sort of banking it
- 4:38Speaker 2: because you don't see these guys too often. You see
- 4:40Speaker 2: them twice a year, and you're you're just kind of
- 4:42Speaker 2: banking it for those important games in the late fall.
- 4:48Speaker 4: Wait, are you saying that the Dodgers can't just coast
- 4:50Speaker 4: into the playoffs this year or are you saying that
- 4:52Speaker 4: it might be a little bit different this year.
- 4:55Speaker 2: I'm saying they can just coast into the playoffs. Yeah,
- 4:58Speaker 2: if there's one team that can just coast, I mean,
- 5:00Speaker 2: obviously you'd like to see some guys going. He likes
- 5:02Speaker 2: Yotani kind of get going, And you'd like to see
- 5:06Speaker 2: Mookie get back and kind of getting into Mookie shape.
- 5:09Speaker 3: And and but.
- 5:11Speaker 2: It's it's whably play one sixty two. It's like Austin
- 5:15Speaker 2: Reiley struggling with the Braves right now. He's got to
- 5:16Speaker 2: get going for this Braves team to make a run.
- 5:19Speaker 2: But it's I mean, there's so many times, like you
- 5:23Speaker 2: look at Judge back in twenty twenty four, I think
- 5:25Speaker 2: about this time, he was sitting two hundred with like
- 5:28Speaker 2: maybe five or six homers, but then he goes on
- 5:31Speaker 2: to do Judge things. Just the guys that can be
- 5:33Speaker 2: consistent and do it year after year are the ones
- 5:36Speaker 2: that are the superstars and such a hall of famers.
- 5:38Speaker 2: And you just got to be able to not look
- 5:41Speaker 2: at the scoreboard and say, man, I'm hitting two hundred
- 5:44Speaker 2: and just trust your process, trust that you're doing things
- 5:47Speaker 2: the right way and you've done it before. If you've
- 5:50Speaker 2: done it before for years and years, you know it's
- 5:51Speaker 2: in the bank. And you just got to keep trusting
- 5:54Speaker 2: that and not let that mendoz align on the scoreboard
- 5:57Speaker 2: and that ops being low and that weighted runs created
- 6:01Speaker 2: plus not where you want to be. You just can't
- 6:03Speaker 2: look at that, trust your process, and by the end
- 6:06Speaker 2: of the season you'll be where you need to be.
- 6:08Speaker 4: Wait, wait, what if I looked at the scoreboard and
- 6:10Speaker 4: I was like, I'm hitting two hundred, Like the same
- 6:14Speaker 4: thing as you just said, I'm hitting two hundred, but
- 6:17Speaker 4: like maybe that's a good thing. I get it for
- 6:19Speaker 4: the stars that you're talking about, but why can't the
- 6:21Speaker 4: Braves coast in? They got an eight game lead in
- 6:25Speaker 4: the NL East eight games. I get it like coasting
- 6:29Speaker 4: at this time of year, but that's a significant lead.
- 6:33Speaker 3: I don't care who it's over.
- 6:36Speaker 4: It is.
- 6:37Speaker 2: It definitely is. They're They're there. They got it on
- 6:40Speaker 2: cruise control right now. They got all cylinders firing. So yeah,
- 6:44Speaker 2: I mean, they keep doing what they're doing, keep putting
- 6:47Speaker 2: on autopilot and just run out there and let Mattio
- 6:51Speaker 2: hit a homer every game, a big homer every game.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Let's sales trike out nine and go eight innings and
- 6:58Speaker 2: and have this bullpen come in and there's just dominate.
- 7:00Speaker 2: I mean, it's it's pretty easy money right now for
- 7:03Speaker 2: the Braves. But yeah, I guess, I guess going back
- 7:06Speaker 2: to looking at the average on the scoreboard, it's it's
- 7:09Speaker 2: kind of easier now, right because they don't have averages
- 7:10Speaker 2: on the scoreboard. They have ops and the advanced stuff
- 7:14Speaker 2: on most scoreboards. Most scoreboards don't have averages anymore.
- 7:17Speaker 3: Let's talk love, life ft family. I know it's an
- 7:20Speaker 3: important part of everyone's.
- 7:21Speaker 4: Life, but if you need help or if you don't,
- 7:24Speaker 4: glue Choo Gold is changing the game and it is
- 7:26Speaker 4: turbo charging your love life that.

- 7:37Speaker 1: super fast on set. No more waiting for a pill
- 7:39Speaker 1: to kick in, no more moments ruined by performance anxiety,
- 7:43Speaker 1: just the results you want when you want them. Most
- 7:46Speaker 1: dd meds only focus on blood flow, but blue Choo
- 7:49Speaker 1: Gold goes further by combining two ingredients for blood flow
- 7:52Speaker 1: with two more for mental arausal and connection. So you're
- 7:56Speaker 1: not just physically ready, you're actually in the mood. And

- 8:07Speaker 1: code f o u L Visit blue you dot com
- 8:10Speaker 1: for more details and important safety information, and we thank
- 8:13Speaker 1: blue ch You for sponsoring the podcast. The Dodgers and
- 8:16Speaker 1: the Braves of the top two batting averages in baseball
- 8:18Speaker 1: right now top two. Nobody knows it, but they do.
- 8:23Speaker 3: I bet they have.
- 8:24Speaker 4: They have some of the best on base percentages too,
- 8:27Speaker 4: and the best ops is also and the best they're
- 8:29Speaker 4: ops plus is a team is really good.
- 8:34Speaker 2: Who took the Dodgers deep last year? The Blue Jays?
- 8:37Speaker 2: What do the Blue Jays do? Put the ball and play?
- 8:40Speaker 2: It's important.
- 8:43Speaker 1: I'll look up some of those other stats while we're
- 8:45Speaker 1: chatting about it. Let's get to the pitching for a
- 8:47Speaker 1: moment here too. So Krats Saturday is interesting. You have
- 8:54Speaker 1: Roki Sasaki who always kind of feels like he's on
- 8:57Speaker 1: the edge of falling apart and falling out of the road.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Blake Snell should be back what next week? Rookie Betts,
- 9:03Speaker 1: by the way, looks like he's going to return next
- 9:04Speaker 1: week for the Dodgers as well. And then Spencer Strider
- 9:08Speaker 1: on the other side, and he talked about how, you know,
- 9:11Speaker 1: he doesn't want a participation trophy for feeling okay and
- 9:15Speaker 1: being back on the mound again. I mean, he misses
- 9:18Speaker 1: being one of the top starters in the sport. It
- 9:20Speaker 1: wasn't that long ago, and then he's been through a
- 9:21Speaker 1: number of injury issues. But the quote the other day
- 9:24Speaker 1: when he was racking up walks in his season debut,
- 9:27Speaker 1: he walked five batters on Sunday, he said, I'd rather
- 9:30Speaker 1: be pitching than hurt for sure. I don't want a
- 9:32Speaker 1: participation trophy. I'm here to help the team win games,
- 9:34Speaker 1: getting paid a ridiculous amount of money to do it.
- 9:37Speaker 1: And if I can't, then that's the problem. So let's
- 9:39Speaker 1: find a way to be more effective than it was today.
- 9:40Speaker 1: I've got a lot of work to do. I mean,
- 9:43Speaker 1: I will say this. The Dodgers get the luxury of
- 9:47Speaker 1: going through cruise control and figuring things out. For someone
- 9:50Speaker 1: like Roki Sazaki, can we get him to a place
- 9:52Speaker 1: where he's an effective starter figuring things out When a
- 9:55Speaker 1: guy feels men like a little tweak here and there,
- 9:58Speaker 1: like a tyler glass, now you know what, skip a start,
- 10:01Speaker 1: or often they'll end up ailing a guy like that.
- 10:03Speaker 1: They have that luxury because of the lead they have.
- 10:05Speaker 1: The Braves kind of have that right now with Spencer
- 10:07Speaker 1: Strider to be able to get him right. Not that
- 10:09Speaker 1: they were going to boot him out of the rotation,
- 10:11Speaker 1: but he wants to get himself on track as soon
- 10:13Speaker 1: as possible. The Braves had the luxury of okay, you
- 10:16Speaker 1: walked five and you came back. Cool, Let's get you
- 10:18Speaker 1: to a good place by mid season, so you're pumping
- 10:21Speaker 1: into the playoff race and we can use you as
- 10:22Speaker 1: a playoff starter.
- 10:25Speaker 4: That I think probably revolves around health and reps, and
- 10:30Speaker 4: you can't get those if you're on the shelf. So
- 10:32Speaker 4: I get what he's saying. Look, I don't care where
- 10:36Speaker 4: the Braves were. If the Braves got Strider back and
- 10:39Speaker 4: he walked five guys last year and they were whatever
- 10:42Speaker 4: ten games out, he would.
- 10:44Speaker 3: Have gotten all of his starts.
- 10:45Speaker 4: Like Spencer, Strider is not a guy that they're like, well,
- 10:48Speaker 4: you know what, Bryce Hilder's pitching pretty well, we're not
- 10:51Speaker 4: bumping him out. We're bumping Strider out. No, like he's
- 10:54Speaker 4: in that he's in that area, Roki Sasaki, He ain't
- 10:59Speaker 4: in that area. Oki, Susaki's got a lot to figure
- 11:01Speaker 4: out more than just like okay, Strider's got to be
- 11:04Speaker 4: able to repeat his mechanics, all that stuff.
- 11:07Speaker 3: Roki. I feel like they're trying to find lightning in
- 11:10Speaker 3: a bottle.
- 11:10Speaker 4: I feel like, you know, ooh, he tweaked his hand
- 11:13Speaker 4: position on his splitter on his forkball. Well yeah, now
- 11:17Speaker 4: it's a splitter and so he can control it a
- 11:19Speaker 4: little bit better. Yes, The miles per hour are up
- 11:22Speaker 4: a lot, but it's no longer a knuckleball, so maybe
- 11:24Speaker 4: that does help. But to me, it's about executing pitches
- 11:30Speaker 4: and for Rokie, and it's about staying on the field
- 11:34Speaker 4: for Strider. I mean, everybody talks about, oh, he's a vegan,
- 11:38Speaker 4: he's got the biggest legs in the league. You could
- 11:41Speaker 4: be a fat turd if you're on the mound every day.
- 11:44Speaker 4: I don't care what you look like. And that's where Strider,
- 11:46Speaker 4: if he can stay healthy, he can solidify this rotation
- 11:50Speaker 4: behind Sale, behind anybody else that they call it from
- 11:54Speaker 4: the minor leagues, like they need that for them to
- 11:57Speaker 4: make a run. Where you go, Okay, it's September thirtieth
- 12:01Speaker 4: right now, who's pitching Game one and Game two for us?
- 12:04Speaker 4: And to me, if it's not Strider, I think the
- 12:06Speaker 4: Braves are a little bit behind the eight ball.
- 12:11Speaker 2: No question.
- 12:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:12Speaker 2: With Strider, it's it's it's just a matter of him
- 12:15Speaker 2: getting back to his form and that's gonna take time
- 12:19Speaker 2: and take reps and take bumps and bruises. At the
- 12:21Speaker 2: big league level, you just can't simulate it. You can
- 12:23Speaker 2: pitch in Triple A or Double A all you want.
- 12:26Speaker 2: It's not the same as peeing in the big leagues,
- 12:28Speaker 2: and you could feel good and your stuff could be okay,
- 12:33Speaker 2: but until you start striking guys out, getting getting that
- 12:36Speaker 2: confidence back, going deep into games, having a clean stat
- 12:40Speaker 2: having clean lines. You know, when when you come out
- 12:43Speaker 2: of the game, and then doing that and piling that
- 12:45Speaker 2: on top of each other like he was doing before
- 12:47Speaker 2: he got hurt, it's just you're gonna it's like scar tissue.
- 12:51Speaker 2: You just got to work through that scar tissue and
- 12:52Speaker 2: get back to where he is and or where he
- 12:55Speaker 2: he was before he was hurt. And he will. He's
- 12:58Speaker 2: such a hard worker, he cares, he's a student of
- 13:02Speaker 2: the game. He wants to get back to what he was,
- 13:04Speaker 2: and I don't doubt that he will. Is just gonna
- 13:06Speaker 2: take some bumps and bruises along the way. You're not with.
- 13:10Speaker 2: The thing that I have an issue with with pitchers
- 13:14Speaker 2: in this day and age is everyone feels like they
- 13:16Speaker 2: have to be one hundred percent to go out there
- 13:17Speaker 2: and throw. Nobody's one hundred percent. Nobody's never one hundred percent.
- 13:20Speaker 2: You have to figure out ways to get outs when
- 13:23Speaker 2: you're not one hundred percent. You have to figure out
- 13:24Speaker 2: ways from a position player side to get hits and
- 13:28Speaker 2: to be productive when you're not at one hundred percent,
- 13:31Speaker 2: because come late in the year, come dog days of summer,
- 13:35Speaker 2: and then into the fall, when you've played all these
- 13:37Speaker 2: games in a row, there's nobody that's one hundred percent.
- 13:40Speaker 2: So can you figure out how to be successful? Pitching
- 13:43Speaker 2: it eighty percent, pitching it eighty five percent?
- 13:47Speaker 1: Yeah, And we'll have coverage on the weekend of this series.
- 13:50Speaker 1: Two Hammer Territory will do a show at least one,
- 13:52Speaker 1: maybe two over the weekend for the bravest perspective, and
- 13:55Speaker 1: then Dodgers Territory will give you a good recap on Monday,
- 13:59Speaker 1: So look out for both of those. Wow, the Nightmare
- 14:02Speaker 1: Series is over for the Reds, the dream series for
- 14:05Speaker 1: the Cubs. They swept them in four games. Reds have
- 14:07Speaker 1: now lost seven games in a row. Three of those
- 14:10Speaker 1: losses were walk off, and then they finally didn't lose
- 14:13Speaker 1: via walkoff for the last game of the series, the Cap,
- 14:16Speaker 1: but they fell eight three and Rhet Louder left the
- 14:20Speaker 1: game in the fourth inning. They're calling his shoulder discomfort.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Earlier in the series. Pagan out he'll miss one to
- 14:26Speaker 1: two months. Like a true nightmare was just experienced, and
- 14:32Speaker 1: Michael Confordo's popping off there, like trying to find AB's
- 14:35Speaker 1: for me at the walk off home the other day.
- 14:37Speaker 1: Then he was raking in the series Clint Or the
- 14:39Speaker 1: series ender the fourth game, he's got an NOPs over
- 14:43Speaker 1: one thousand. They gave Seya Suzuki a day off. Kratz,
- 14:46Speaker 1: you want to just reiterate what the series was for
- 14:49Speaker 1: the Reds. What's the word that? What Maryfield should know?
- 14:55Speaker 3: What's the worst word?
- 14:56Speaker 1: It starts with a then oh nine, here there you go, nightmare, nightmare.
- 15:05Speaker 1: I know.
- 15:07Speaker 2: You could get there crazy m Yeah, it didn't look good.
- 15:11Speaker 2: It was not a good series for the Reds. But wow,
- 15:14Speaker 2: the Cubs have it. Have that train rolling right now,
- 15:17Speaker 2: and it's almost like it's almost like if you're the Cubs,
- 15:20Speaker 2: it's great, you're loving it, but it's like, man, it
- 15:24Speaker 2: sucks that we're doing this right now in early May,
- 15:26Speaker 2: because you know, you know that it's going to be
- 15:28Speaker 2: at some point they're going to scuffle. But it's like,
- 15:30Speaker 2: can you get back to what this team is right
- 15:33Speaker 2: now late in the year. That's that's what every team
- 15:36Speaker 2: wants to do, is they want to peak late the
- 15:37Speaker 2: Cubs are peaking right now.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Just mixing in some injury updates during the breaks here
- 15:42Speaker 1: while the TV crowd waits for us to return macutrial.
- 15:46Speaker 1: The Kansas City Royals manager said that Cole Reagan's was
- 15:49Speaker 1: diagnosed with VEO valgus extension overload aka pitcher's elbow. So
- 15:54Speaker 1: they're not sure what the deal is, but he's not
- 15:56Speaker 1: necessarily going to be shut down. Way worse news for
- 15:59Speaker 1: Carlos Stevez. Remember his velo was down a ton and
- 16:02Speaker 1: I think they said it was the ankle initially, right, krats,
- 16:04Speaker 1: But now it's the rotator cuff. He's got a strain,
- 16:07Speaker 1: so he's shut down for a few more weeks, I
- 16:10Speaker 1: mean shut down. Hasn't pitched really for the majority of
- 16:12Speaker 1: the year at this point, so you figure this is
- 16:15Speaker 1: a second half return.
- 16:18Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, late. That sucks.
- 16:20Speaker 4: I hope it wasn't an ankle that created the rotator cuff,
- 16:25Speaker 4: because sometimes when you're landing soft or he can't push off,
- 16:28Speaker 4: something else takes it. That's why guys pitchers go out
- 16:32Speaker 4: with different things like well, why would he go out
- 16:34Speaker 4: with that? That's not a shoulder or an elbow, So
- 16:36Speaker 4: it doesn't become a shoulder or an elbow, but pitcher's elbow.
- 16:40Speaker 4: I'll be honest, I've never heard it. I've never heard
- 16:44Speaker 4: that term. I've heard dead arm, I've heard you know, obviously,
- 16:47Speaker 4: bone chips. We just had it with Scooble. But Royals
- 16:51Speaker 4: can't afford it because they got to They kind of
- 16:53Speaker 4: started to get some momentum. The hitters are starting to
- 16:56Speaker 4: swing the bats a little bit, but they they need
- 17:00Speaker 4: Reagan's back there. I don't know if they need a
- 17:02Speaker 4: status because I like Ersig, but man, they need Reagans
- 17:05Speaker 4: back in there if they're going to do anything.
- 17:09Speaker 2: Yeah, they got to get something going they there. I
- 17:12Speaker 2: feel like they take like one step four and then
- 17:15Speaker 2: two steps back and Reagan's going out. Definitely not ideal.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Plock corner time. Here comes the big man, Spencer Jones.
- 17:29Speaker 1: He is large, He's six foot seven, and he has
- 17:32Speaker 1: eleven home runs in a nine to fifty eight ops
- 17:35Speaker 1: over thirty three games, with forty one runs driven in
- 17:38Speaker 1: at Triple A this season. Now Crat some people think
- 17:42Speaker 1: that he would have been up much sooner on many
- 17:44Speaker 1: other teams. The Yankees built some depth here. Now the
- 17:47Speaker 1: depth is getting tested. Domingo has had an ugly crash,
- 17:50Speaker 1: so he hits the shelf for a little bit. John
- 17:53Speaker 1: Carlos Stanton's out and they just bring on the next
- 17:55Speaker 1: monster monst Look, the Yankees are going to bring up
- 18:00Speaker 1: whoever is gonna help the team, not like, Okay, we're
- 18:04Speaker 1: gonna hold you down.
- 18:05Speaker 4: We're gonna they understand that one hundred and eighty strikeouts
- 18:08Speaker 4: and the bushes turns into at least two hundred in
- 18:12Speaker 4: the big leagues, or let's just be nice, one hundred
- 18:16Speaker 4: and eighty strikeouts in the big leagues. And when you're
- 18:19Speaker 4: adding in pieces to a lineup that already has, like
- 18:23Speaker 4: you said, the Monstars, it already has. You know, it's
- 18:26Speaker 4: gone through Greg Byrd who was huge and had homers,
- 18:29Speaker 4: and Gary Sanchez who was huge and hit homers like
- 18:32Speaker 4: they have homers. Trent Grisham, I think did Trent have
- 18:35Speaker 4: thirty last year? I know Jazz had thirty. They're fine,
- 18:39Speaker 4: they're finding homers. The Cody have twenty five. Like to me,
- 18:44Speaker 4: they don't need they didn't need more homers. I'm glad
- 18:46Speaker 4: he's getting called up now. And people say, well, he
- 18:48Speaker 4: would have been up if he was on another team. Okay,
- 18:52Speaker 4: you know, do you have to learn how to strike
- 18:55Speaker 4: out less or command the strike zone more, not strikeout less.
- 18:58Speaker 4: I would say command the strike zone more, because he
- 19:00Speaker 4: does get his walks, but does he get minor league
- 19:03Speaker 4: walks or does he get big league walks? The only
- 19:05Speaker 4: way to find out is to throw him in the
- 19:08Speaker 4: big leagues. And I hope they don't try to throw
- 19:09Speaker 4: him out there one game and then sit them to
- 19:13Speaker 4: two games, then sit them three, like I want to
- 19:16Speaker 4: see this guy. He's only ever played every single day
- 19:19Speaker 4: in the bushes. He can steal you twenty bags in
- 19:22Speaker 4: two months if you let him run, because he's not
- 19:25Speaker 4: just this freakish six foot seven hitter. He's actually athletic too,
- 19:29Speaker 4: and he can play really good outfield. That's why I
- 19:31Speaker 4: thought he'd be up sooner.
- 19:35Speaker 2: I do love how you keep calling up the bushes.
- 19:37Speaker 2: I do like that. I think this is the perfect time.
- 19:41Speaker 2: I think it's the perfect time for him to come
- 19:43Speaker 2: up because he's not coming up as a spark for
- 19:45Speaker 2: this lineup, so there's not a lot of pressure on
- 19:47Speaker 2: him right now. It's just we're gonna put We're gonna
- 19:50Speaker 2: fill you in, You're gonna link in our lineup, and
- 19:52Speaker 2: we don't need you to carry this team. We don't
- 19:54Speaker 2: need you to go out there and do anything that
- 19:57Speaker 2: you're not doing. Just go be you learn, learn the
- 20:00Speaker 2: big leagues, get adjusted, and we're gonna put up six
- 20:04Speaker 2: or seven of runs frankly without you. So just good,
- 20:07Speaker 2: don't have don't have any pressure. Just go and play
- 20:09Speaker 2: your game. And so I think it's it's a perfect
- 20:10Speaker 2: time for him to come up, get acquainted, get his
- 20:14Speaker 2: feet wet, find some success, not worry so much about
- 20:18Speaker 2: struggles because the way they're playing, his struggles aren't gonna
- 20:21Speaker 2: keep this team from winning games. So it's a great
- 20:23Speaker 2: time for a guy like him, who's gonna have a
- 20:25Speaker 2: lot of swing and miss, gonna have a lot of strikeouts,
- 20:28Speaker 2: to come up and just not feel overwhelmed by the situation.
- 20:32Speaker 2: So kudos are the Yankees for finally get him up
- 20:35Speaker 2: and looking forward to seeing him play. I've hard a
- 20:37Speaker 2: lot about him. Obviously, he's, as you say, a monstar.
- 20:40Speaker 2: He's huge, and he's a lefties. So with that right
- 20:44Speaker 2: field Porsche, there's a lot of pot flies that he's
- 20:46Speaker 2: gonna hit that'll that'll find the seats, and it's just
- 20:49Speaker 2: a matter of can he continue to hit those balls
- 20:52Speaker 2: can when pitchers adjust to him, can he adjust back?
- 20:55Speaker 2: That's really what it comes down to in the big leagues.
- 20:57Speaker 2: That's how you become a steady big leaguer. It's you
- 21:00Speaker 2: become an All Star and play for a long time.
- 21:02Speaker 2: Is continuing to adjust when pitchers are just to you.
- 21:06Speaker 4: I think he can hit the ball out of Yellowstone
- 21:08Speaker 4: based on some of the balls I've seen him hitt.
- 21:10Speaker 4: And he can take the ball of the opposite field.
- 21:11Speaker 4: As you know, with like bad swings are usually pulled swings.
- 21:15Speaker 4: Good swings are you know, where you're driving it the
- 21:17Speaker 4: other way too. But the fact that he's coming into
- 21:21Speaker 4: a spot where, hey, you know what, like they need him,
- 21:25Speaker 4: they need.
- 21:25Speaker 3: Him to just be who he is.
- 21:28Speaker 4: If you saw a guy with that was striking out
- 21:30Speaker 4: a lot in the minor leagues coming up to the
- 21:33Speaker 4: big leagues, you're a guy that didn't strike out much,
- 21:35Speaker 4: you put the ball in play, would you have a
- 21:38Speaker 4: conversation with him right away, right when he got to
- 21:41Speaker 4: the big leagues because you have established sluggers in this lineup,
- 21:46Speaker 4: I mean from top to bottom. Even you know, Ryan
- 21:49Speaker 4: McCann's a gold glover, so he's taken a lot of
- 21:52Speaker 4: big league get bats. Paul Goldschmid's a guy who just
- 21:55Speaker 4: figured out to be how to be an MVP, and
- 21:57Speaker 4: he's been an elite level player. Do you think they
- 22:01Speaker 4: have a conversation with him right away or do you
- 22:04Speaker 4: think they say players say, Spencer, just go be six
- 22:07Speaker 4: to seven and do some cool things.
- 22:11Speaker 2: That's a good question. I think it depends. I think
- 22:13Speaker 2: it depends on I mean, he's been around for a
- 22:15Speaker 2: while now, he's been in camp, and he's worked with
- 22:19Speaker 2: some of the big league coaches, and so they're familiar
- 22:21Speaker 2: with them to an extent. And I'm sure they see
- 22:23Speaker 2: they see a lot of video of him in the
- 22:25Speaker 2: minor leagues, and you know, maybe it's it's a thing
- 22:28Speaker 2: where he's almost too selective and he's letting too many
- 22:33Speaker 2: good pitches go. He might be chasing too much. There's
- 22:38Speaker 2: there's something that I'm sure that they see that they
- 22:40Speaker 2: can maybe pull them in out I'd pull them in
- 22:43Speaker 2: or they want to be Look, man, you got three
- 22:45Speaker 2: cracks at getting the ball over that short short Fans
- 22:48Speaker 2: of left field, don't give them a strike. If you
- 22:50Speaker 2: see a good one, be ready to go from the jump,
- 22:53Speaker 2: get three cracks at it. If you strike out, go
- 22:56Speaker 2: back and you'll next to about you'll get three more
- 22:57Speaker 2: cracks at it. But don't ever give this. They're too
- 23:01Speaker 2: good at this level to give them strikes, especially when
- 23:04Speaker 2: you have a high swing and misrate. We're not into
- 23:08Speaker 2: building the pitch count of the starter up anymore and
- 23:10Speaker 2: trying to get to the bullpen. That's not the way
- 23:12Speaker 2: of the world anymore. That's not how we play offense.
- 23:15Speaker 2: We're trying to do damage when we get a ball
- 23:17Speaker 2: on the zone. So get something you like early, put
- 23:19Speaker 2: a swing on it. If you don't get it, get
- 23:21Speaker 2: another one, put a good swing on it, and try
- 23:23Speaker 2: you get three cracks at it. So that's that's that's
- 23:25Speaker 2: what I would tell them, And again that's just from
- 23:28Speaker 2: me not knowing much about him, just from the outside end.
- 23:31Speaker 2: If I was in that Yankee staff, that would be
- 23:34Speaker 2: one of the first things that I would tell them.
- 23:36Speaker 4: As much as everybody wants to say, oh, you know,
- 23:39Speaker 4: the New York market's going to eat them up, I
- 23:41Speaker 4: promise I have seen the meetings. I never had a
- 23:45Speaker 4: set through them because I wasn't I was young. I
- 23:47Speaker 4: was older when I got to the Yankees organization. But
- 23:50Speaker 4: spring training they have multiple hours, multiple days in spring
- 23:55Speaker 4: training of media training until you have a year of
- 23:58Speaker 4: big league service. Kylehi Goshi Yuka, he was like, goy,
- 24:01Speaker 4: He's like, all right, it might be actually three years
- 24:03Speaker 4: of big league service. I'm not sure. He's like, it
- 24:05Speaker 4: took me forever. It was like I had like ten
- 24:08Speaker 4: or twelve straight years of media training. So Spencer Jones, well,
- 24:13Speaker 4: he hasn't been around forever. He's been in big league
- 24:16Speaker 4: camp for a long time with the Yankees. He's done
- 24:18Speaker 4: all this media training. And I would be hard pressed
- 24:20Speaker 4: to find somebody that came up through the system that
- 24:25Speaker 4: was not prepared for the New York market. Like I
- 24:28Speaker 4: want you guys that came up through the system now
- 24:30Speaker 4: got traded to the Yankees and then spent a couple
- 24:34Speaker 4: of years in the minor leagues, but came up through
- 24:35Speaker 4: the system that isn't prepared for the New York market.
- 24:38Speaker 4: So I'd like to put that to bed right out
- 24:40Speaker 4: of the gate.
- 24:42Speaker 2: And if I was his teammate, and I don't, I
- 24:44Speaker 2: don't know because I don't follow him and I don't
- 24:46Speaker 2: know how active he is, but I'd pull him aside
- 24:47Speaker 2: and be like, hey, buddy, we're in New York. You
- 24:50Speaker 2: play for the Yankees. Let's let's not be on. Don't
- 24:53Speaker 2: check your Twitter or your Instagram, DMS or anything like
- 24:56Speaker 2: that for a good while. Let's just leave Goes alone,
- 24:59Speaker 2: all right, and.
- 24:59Speaker 3: You'll I'll tell you hit a homer until you hit
- 25:02Speaker 3: a home.
- 25:03Speaker 2: Do something good. Even then, even then it might not
- 25:05Speaker 2: be far enough. You know, people are crazy.
- 25:07Speaker 4: You never know people are crazy, like, oh, you went
- 25:10Speaker 4: three for four with two homers. What happened in the
- 25:12Speaker 4: fourth at bat?
- 25:13Speaker 3: You're not clutch. We won John Carlos Stanton's bad calf
- 25:16Speaker 3: back before.
- 25:17Speaker 2: You don't check it.
- 25:20Speaker 1: I want to finish with this. He is turning twenty
- 25:24Speaker 1: five years old in one week, and he will be
- 25:28Speaker 1: making his rookie debut. Just to give you context, here
- 25:31Speaker 1: a player who we spoke a lot about a month
- 25:34Speaker 1: and a half ago, Connor Griffin, just turned twenty. They're
- 25:38Speaker 1: five full years apart. When Connor Griffin gets to Spencer
- 25:42Speaker 1: Jones's age, he would be well, he's on an extension,
- 25:47Speaker 1: so it doesn't matter. But if he hadn't had that extension,
- 25:49Speaker 1: he'd be thinking about free agency a year later. Spencer
- 25:52Speaker 1: Jones isn't going to be a free agent until he's
- 25:55Speaker 1: a grandpa. Just to give you the difference in the
- 25:58Speaker 1: ages between two kies, we're talking a lot about the
- 26:02Speaker 1: Judge was an older rookie too. Uh, would I think
- 26:05Speaker 1: he was twenty three? I want to say, I can
- 26:09Speaker 1: find it if you guys give me one second while
- 26:11Speaker 1: you're chatting.
- 26:13Speaker 2: Seven as a rookie.
- 26:15Speaker 1: Oh right, you're the perfect person to talk to us.
- 26:17Speaker 1: And Judge was twenty four. By the way, twenty sixteen
- 26:20Speaker 1: was his age twenty four season. We have the perfect
- 26:22Speaker 1: guys on for this.
- 26:25Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's uh, you know, age is just a number.
- 26:28Speaker 2: It's just a number. I think we put a little
- 26:31Speaker 2: too much stock in age. You know, everyone ages differently.
- 26:34Speaker 2: My my thirty four looked different than somebody else's thirty four.
- 26:38Speaker 2: And it's just the ages. It all depends on how
- 26:41Speaker 2: you age, and so you know, his twenty five could
- 26:44Speaker 2: be like somebody else's twenty, or somebody else's thirty.
- 26:48Speaker 3: Or my forty.
- 26:53Speaker 1: Yes, Kratz has aged gracefully. He's still committee. Yeah. Hey,
- 27:04Speaker 1: so Roman Anthony does end up going on the shelf.
- 27:07Speaker 1: He wasn't getting better and technically the injury is something
- 27:12Speaker 1: with a finger. So he said, what was it. I'm
- 27:15Speaker 1: looking for the tweet. He's wearing a brace on his hand,
- 27:18Speaker 1: but it's technically something with his finger. Anyway. Wait, you've
- 27:22Speaker 1: gone through this, right, what was it for you? And
- 27:25Speaker 1: you haven't been injured much in your whole career, but
- 27:28Speaker 1: did you have a wrist injury in the miners?
- 27:31Speaker 2: Yeah, a little different. It wasn't swinging. I was sliding
- 27:33Speaker 2: into third base and jammed my wrist into the ground
- 27:36Speaker 2: as I was sliding in feet first. It kind of
- 27:39Speaker 2: fell back on my wrist and it blew up like
- 27:42Speaker 2: a like a Mickey Mouse hand.
- 27:43Speaker 3: It was. It was.
- 27:44Speaker 2: It was gnarly and it was so painful, and honestly,
- 27:48Speaker 2: it took about two years before it felt normal again.
- 27:52Speaker 2: I'm not saying it it took that long to not
- 27:53Speaker 2: be painful, but there was weakness and just didn't feel normal.
- 27:57Speaker 2: The mobility wasn't there. So there's so much with the wrist,
- 28:00Speaker 2: in the in the feet and the knees, so many
- 28:02Speaker 2: little intricacies that go on with it that whenever you
- 28:05Speaker 2: hurt something with it, it can linger and it can
- 28:08Speaker 2: be something that you're gonna have to deal with for
- 28:09Speaker 2: a long time. And I'm not saying he won't be
- 28:11Speaker 2: able to play through it, but he'll know it's there
- 28:13Speaker 2: and don't know it's there for for a good.
- 28:14Speaker 1: Bit, so he said. He clarified it's a ligament sprain
- 28:19Speaker 1: of his right ring finger.
- 28:24Speaker 2: That's a little different. Yeah, that's a little different. The
- 28:26Speaker 2: lefty holding the bat. Yeah, I mean, I don't know.
- 28:32Speaker 2: I can't remember if he's a two in finished guy
- 28:35Speaker 2: or a top hand of release guy. But if he's
- 28:37Speaker 2: a top haird of release guy holding the bat right
- 28:40Speaker 2: there could I mean that that's it's something that he's
- 28:45Speaker 2: gonna feel and we'll see if that if it affects
- 28:47Speaker 2: him or not. He's such a good player, but it's
- 28:50Speaker 2: it's gonna be something he's gonna have to get used to.
- 28:53Speaker 1: Yeah, you hope it doesn't sap performance for him. I
- 28:56Speaker 1: mean the problem very clearly for this team. They've hadded
- 28:58Speaker 1: a number of problems, but they need to swing the
- 29:00Speaker 1: bats significantly better, especially at home, like there's barely any
- 29:03Speaker 1: pop for them at Fenway over the course of the
- 29:05Speaker 1: first quarter of the season. For Boston, it does not
- 29:08Speaker 1: help when one of your big boys is out and
- 29:11Speaker 1: then dealing with something that could affect him when he
- 29:13Speaker 1: comes back conspiracy.
- 29:15Speaker 3: That's not Alice Bragman.
- 29:16Speaker 4: Here's my conspiracy with fifteen seconds left, coaches in the
- 29:22Speaker 4: coaches boxes, oh anything, just saying, just saying conspiracy.
- 29:30Speaker 1: Knowing the pitch helps.
- 29:38Speaker 3: Wit. You know wit, Come on, you know, Bobby.
- 29:43Speaker 1: Hey, this one's a bomber. Luis camp Usano was finding it.
- 29:47Speaker 1: It had taken a while. He dominated hitting wise last
- 29:50Speaker 1: year in Triple A. He had struggled over the years
- 29:54Speaker 1: in the BIGS. He's been one of the best hitting catchers.
- 29:57Speaker 1: Fractured toe crats. It wasn't even from catching. He found
- 30:02Speaker 1: a ball off his foot. So he's gone on the shelf.
- 30:05Speaker 1: And it just sucks when you're in a flow like that.
- 30:08Speaker 1: And he said he is famous. Quote a month ago
- 30:12Speaker 1: he stopped giving a bleep and that's why he feels
- 30:15Speaker 1: like he's better.
- 30:17Speaker 4: And he's been. He's been really good for him. I mean,
- 30:20Speaker 4: I love to see it. I love to see a
- 30:22Speaker 4: catcher that, you know, kind of shoot. He came up
- 30:25Speaker 4: early and it just didn't happen for him. Everybody matures
- 30:29Speaker 4: at different ages. I broke my toe in two thousand
- 30:33Speaker 4: and nine at the Triple A All Star Game, and
- 30:36Speaker 4: I'm like, there ain't no chance I'm coming out. We
- 30:39Speaker 4: tape that John up and I played the rest of
- 30:41Speaker 4: the season. You ain't coming out because of a broken toe.
- 30:44Speaker 4: Whatever he has, that that must be painful because if
- 30:49Speaker 4: it gets up into your foot, then you start like
- 30:51Speaker 4: limping a little bit differently. But I think if it's
- 30:55Speaker 4: just a tow, I bet he stays in. But if
- 30:57Speaker 4: it's not, like something farther down in the joint, then
- 31:00Speaker 4: you start limping. Then you get a hip. Just like
- 31:02Speaker 4: we talked about with pitchers, you gotta take it. You
- 31:05Speaker 4: got to stop it before it gets something else worse.
- 31:11Speaker 2: Yeah, but you know, all bad things lead to some
- 31:14Speaker 2: good things. And can we give a shout out to
- 31:16Speaker 2: Ridelfo Durant been grinding down in the bushes, as Crassy
- 31:19Speaker 2: would say, and finally gets his shot, So kuduz to him.
- 31:23Speaker 2: Congratulations to him, and hopefully he can make the most
- 31:26Speaker 2: of it. I know he had no for day one,
- 31:28Speaker 2: but hope he's back in there tonight and gets his
- 31:31Speaker 2: first knock. Cheering for that.
- 31:33Speaker 3: He's a big leaguer, Yep, he's a big leaguer. Yees.
- 31:37Speaker 4: Forever ever, I want to look up what his number is.
- 31:40Speaker 4: I always like looking up people's numbers when they when
- 31:43Speaker 4: they make their debuts. He was number twenty three thousand,
- 31:46Speaker 4: six hundred and eighty seven to have ever made it
- 31:50Speaker 4: to the big leagues twenty eight years old. He's looking
- 31:52Speaker 4: at Spencer Jones like, hey, what's up baby? You were
- 31:55Speaker 4: in his grade when I was a senior in high school.
- 31:59Speaker 4: Like everybody, it makes it a different time. Buenos swear today.
- 32:03Speaker 1: Ridolfo love that, and also, yeah, he's facing a tough opponent.
- 32:08Speaker 1: Cardinals have been playing really well. They won two to
- 32:10Speaker 1: one in the series opener. Libertor was really good, and
- 32:14Speaker 1: five of the twelve teams with winning records in baseball
- 32:17Speaker 1: are coming out of the NL Central right now. Not
- 32:20Speaker 1: too shabby. I'm always a fan of someone being super candid.
- 32:25Speaker 1: Dan Hayes, who runs our Twin City Territory show, said
- 32:30Speaker 1: that Royce Lewis is having a difficulty avoiding looking at
- 32:33Speaker 1: the big picture and wonders about his future with the Twins.
- 32:37Speaker 1: So he said, Royce quote, it can be really hard
- 32:39Speaker 1: when you feel like your career is going in a
- 32:41Speaker 1: different direction. It's been tougher because obviously we know there's
- 32:43Speaker 1: always someone on your tail, there's always someone ready to
- 32:45Speaker 1: take your next job. Every day I'm here fighting and
- 32:47Speaker 1: working as hard as I can to show that I'm
- 32:50Speaker 1: giving it my ab because I love what I do.
- 32:51Speaker 1: I've been smiling. I feel fine leaving the game, But
- 32:54Speaker 1: I think what scares me most is like, Oh, they
- 32:56Speaker 1: might try to get me out of here when I
- 32:57Speaker 1: leave the field. That thought does creep into my head.
- 33:00Speaker 1: Your thoughts on Royce, who usually is pretty candid with
- 33:02Speaker 1: quotes like this, And also they traded away a third
- 33:06Speaker 1: of his team at the deadline last year, so it
- 33:08Speaker 1: wouldn't be crazy.
- 33:10Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a real thing, and so I'm glad he
- 33:12Speaker 2: said something because it's a lot. It's something that a
- 33:14Speaker 2: lot of guys go through, especially when you're on a
- 33:18Speaker 2: team like the Twins are right now. I had the
- 33:21Speaker 2: that going in my head a lot in Kansas City.
- 33:25Speaker 2: There was always talk about me getting traded. And the
- 33:27Speaker 2: thing that I had going for me was I dated
- 33:30Speaker 2: Moore as a GM who was always available to talk to,
- 33:33Speaker 2: was very upfront with me about what was going on,
- 33:36Speaker 2: and so I was very fortunate to have that, or
- 33:38Speaker 2: I'd have been going through the same thing that that
- 33:40Speaker 2: Royce is going through And doesn't sound like he has
- 33:42Speaker 2: that that guy he trust in the front office where
- 33:44Speaker 2: he can be like, hey man, what's going on.
- 33:46Speaker 3: Am I going to be here?
- 33:47Speaker 2: Am I not going to be here? What's the deal?
- 33:50Speaker 2: And that's a big thing, and that weighs on you
- 33:52Speaker 2: and it's part of the job that we have. But
- 33:55Speaker 2: it is hard.
- 33:57Speaker 4: I think this is something that nobody ever saw coming. Actally,
- 34:00Speaker 4: Royce Lewis the one to one pick in the draft,
- 34:03Speaker 4: like the fact that he's hitting one seventy, the fact that, yes,
- 34:07Speaker 4: a lot of his teammates got sent away. But now
- 34:10Speaker 4: he's been healthy and he's been out on the field
- 34:12Speaker 4: and it hasn't been going well. Royce, welcome to the majority.
- 34:17Speaker 4: You were the minority before in the sense that like
- 34:21Speaker 4: you just you would play, you'd be healthy, and you
- 34:23Speaker 4: would just bang.
- 34:24Speaker 3: You just were.
- 34:25Speaker 4: And he is such a positive person. Every time he
- 34:27Speaker 4: talked to him, he's positive. So for him to be
- 34:29Speaker 4: vulnerable and honest about where he's at right now, like
- 34:33Speaker 4: somebody can take my job. It's no longer like wow,
- 34:36Speaker 4: everybody wants Royce Lewis. If you can keep on the field,
- 34:38Speaker 4: he's gonna be MVP type of candidate. He's got to
- 34:41Speaker 4: figure it out, and that's a tough time to try
- 34:44Speaker 4: to figure it out. But you know what, he's still young.
- 34:47Speaker 4: We just talked about guys getting called up at twenty five.
- 34:49Speaker 4: Like Royce Lewis is twenty six years old. He's going
- 34:53Speaker 4: to turn twenty seven soon. He's got time. He's got
- 34:56Speaker 4: to figure it out. And fortunately for him, he's on
- 34:58Speaker 4: the twins or he can figure it out.
- 35:11Speaker 1: All right, good stuff today, let's slap. It's Friday. Do
- 35:14Speaker 1: you know what Sunday is?
- 35:15Speaker 3: Crats Mama Day?
- 35:19Speaker 1: And would you like to say a little shout out
- 35:22Speaker 1: to any of the mind I get that you appreciate.
- 35:26Speaker 4: Yeah, I thought I thought our special guests was I
- 35:29Speaker 4: thought our special guest was going first, No Debrah, Happy
- 35:33Speaker 4: Mother's Day.
- 35:34Speaker 3: Thank you mom.
- 35:35Speaker 4: As much as my mom was a proponent of me,
- 35:39Speaker 4: the story I have for my mother is I was
- 35:42Speaker 4: afraid when I was eleven to go play at the
- 35:45Speaker 4: next level of Little League because there was the twelve
- 35:47Speaker 4: year old kids and they scared the absolute crap out
- 35:49Speaker 4: of me. And I told my mom I was afraid,
- 35:53Speaker 4: and she was like, well, let's just go. Let's go
- 35:55Speaker 4: to sign ups. If you're still afraid when you get there,
- 35:59Speaker 4: then that's fine, you don't have to play baseball this year,
- 36:01Speaker 4: So my mom pushed me. I signed up, and I
- 36:04Speaker 4: wasn't afraid until I played with wit later in my career.
- 36:07Speaker 4: But also, happy birthday to my wife, Sarah, who is
- 36:12Speaker 4: the greatest baseball mom.
- 36:13Speaker 3: Of all time.
- 36:14Speaker 4: She's actually at a game today. We went fourteen straight
- 36:18Speaker 4: days of going to games between softball and baseball, and
- 36:21Speaker 4: not one of them's mine, So I'm not in the doghouse.
- 36:26Speaker 1: Wow, happy birthday, star legendary, legendary on her birthday at
- 36:31Speaker 1: a game.
- 36:31Speaker 3: Even though crap, did I say happy birthday?
- 36:34Speaker 1: You said, Oh, it's on her birthday. Happy mother's day, Happy.
- 36:37Speaker 3: Mother, Happy mother's Day.
- 36:38Speaker 1: That's brutal by me.
- 36:39Speaker 3: I was excited about my scared of baseball story.
- 36:42Speaker 1: Every day is Sarah's birthday at the Crats home. What
- 36:44Speaker 1: do you got?
- 36:46Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 36:47Speaker 2: Obviously, Happy Happy mother's day to all the mothers out there,
- 36:49Speaker 2: especially mine a mom Kissie. Yes her name is Kissy,
- 36:53Speaker 2: and yes, that was a difficult time in high school
- 36:55Speaker 2: having a mom named Kissy, But I always like to
- 36:58Speaker 2: brag on her. She is the best athlete in our family.
- 37:03Speaker 2: My dad was a great baseball player. But my mom
- 37:05Speaker 2: was the true athlete. She was a five time state
- 37:08Speaker 2: champion in tennis in high school at South Carolina, yes
- 37:11Speaker 2: five times, not because she failed a grade, but because
- 37:14Speaker 2: she won the state tournament as an eighth grader. She
- 37:17Speaker 2: was that good, went on to play tennis at wake,
- 37:20Speaker 2: and there's just been an incredible rock and support throughout
- 37:23Speaker 2: my whole life, especially my baseball career and now that
- 37:26Speaker 2: I'm in this young career in fatherhood. She's been a
- 37:30Speaker 2: great grandma and so Mom always Happy Mother's Day to you.
- 37:35Speaker 2: You're the best. And then my wife, Jordan, who's been
- 37:39Speaker 2: just a dynamite rock star when it comes to raising
- 37:41Speaker 2: our daughter, and this will be her second Mother's Day
- 37:46Speaker 2: as a mom, So shout out to Jordan and my Mom.
- 37:50Speaker 1: I like that name, Kissy. I think that's cool.
- 37:53Speaker 3: Not at high school, I get that, although I.
- 37:57Speaker 1: Mean where I'm doing the show today in Brooklyn. If
- 37:59Speaker 1: I say too, the half Burrow will name their kids Kissy.
- 38:04Speaker 1: They are always looking for something unique. So I think
- 38:06Speaker 1: it's cool.
- 38:07Speaker 3: I like it.
- 38:08Speaker 1: Good stuff. Happy mothers say to my Ma. Rarely misses
- 38:12Speaker 1: a show, even the ones I did back in the
- 38:14Speaker 1: day when I looked twelve and they probably weren't very good.
- 38:16Speaker 1: So appreciate you and all the moms behind the scenes
- 38:20Speaker 1: for ft you know who you are that helped to
- 38:23Speaker 1: you know, make your significant others better or your kids better,
- 38:26Speaker 1: the whole deal. We love you, we appreciate you, and
- 38:29Speaker 1: our best gift we can give you on our way
- 38:31Speaker 1: out on a Friday is whatever Kratz is wearing on
- 38:33Speaker 1: his massive dome.
- 38:37Speaker 4: Wow, the Metropolitans. This is a big weekend for him.
- 38:41Speaker 4: They need to step up. Lost a tough one to
- 38:43Speaker 4: the Rocks on a controversial Grand Slam, but Caimberll's not
- 38:48Speaker 4: your answer.
- 38:49Speaker 3: The team needs to hit.
- 38:54Speaker 1: They're playing a Diamondbacks team that wants to get themselves
- 38:56Speaker 1: going a little bit too, so it might be difficult,
- 39:00Speaker 1: It might be tough sledding. It is a big series.
- 39:02Speaker 1: They're all a big series. When you start off super slow. Wait,
- 39:04Speaker 1: great stuff, dude, Good to see you.
- 39:07Speaker 2: Good to see you. You don't look twelve anymore. You
- 39:08Speaker 2: look like fourteen.
- 39:09Speaker 1: Now fourteen. I just shaved the other day, so I
- 39:12Speaker 1: just shed like ten years of my life backwards. Good
- 39:15Speaker 1: to note it. Good, good little weapon to have later
- 39:17Speaker 1: on in life. Happy Friday, everyone, Happy Mother's Day See
- 39:20Speaker 1: them Monday. Did you know that if your home run
