- 0:01Speaker 1: The following feature has been rated R by the Motion
- 0:04Speaker 1: Picture Association of America. It is intended for mature audiences
- 0:08Speaker 1: and parental discretion is advised.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Our nuclear reactor pumping out one million kilowatts of power.
- 0:41Speaker 2: I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass.
- 0:43Speaker 3: And I'm all out of bubblegum. What's up, and welcome
- 0:57Speaker 3: to Movie Meltdown. I am Brian.
- 0:58Speaker 4: This is Roger. This is.
- 1:00Speaker 5: Hey, it's my turn. You are already going out of order.
- 1:02Speaker 4: I was going to snake you.
- 1:04Speaker 5: This is Misty.
- 1:05Speaker 3: This is Jay. And this is Rod, coming to you
- 1:07Speaker 3: from the new studio, the new Movie Meltdown studio.
- 1:10Speaker 6: The fabulous new studio that's not fully done, but it's
- 1:14Speaker 6: close enough to at least be functional at this point,
- 1:17Speaker 6: which is really all we're looking for.
- 1:19Speaker 4: Super spacious. So spacious that the walls echo.
- 1:22Speaker 3: Definitely a step up from last time. Yeah.
- 1:25Speaker 5: We could tie in and say that it actually kicks ass.
- 1:28Speaker 3: We'll get to that. We'll get to that later.
- 1:31Speaker 4: We'll edit that shit out.
- 1:33Speaker 5: I'm awesome when you know it.
- 1:34Speaker 3: Don't hate me.
- 1:35Speaker 4: That was terrible.
- 1:37Speaker 5: Would you expect any love?
- 1:38Speaker 4: At least her shoes don't smell like alcohol. Yeah, lucky.
- 1:41Speaker 7: Me.
- 1:42Speaker 3: Sticky shoes.
- 1:43Speaker 4: Jack holes. Frickin' theater. Unfortunately, I knew at.
- 1:48Speaker 3: One point in my life. Today's feature, which we might
- 1:49Speaker 3: as well already spoil, is going to be Kick-Ass. And
- 1:52Speaker 3: right before the movie started, some jackass behind Misty and
- 1:56Speaker 3: Jay came up behind Roger and his, I don't know who,
- 2:03Speaker 3: the mysterious woman that showed up. And some jackass behind
- 2:07Speaker 3: him dropped a bottle of beer.
- 2:08Speaker 4: You could hear it drop and shatter. And really, I
- 2:11Speaker 4: don't know how you just epically fail that bad. You're
- 2:15Speaker 4: really drunk and you lose all grip control.
- 2:17Speaker 3: The movie hasn't even started yet.
- 2:20Speaker 4: Exactly.
- 2:21Speaker 6: That was the best part. The lights had just gone down.
- 2:23Speaker 3: And you heard... and then as.
- 2:27Speaker 4: It just starts leaking down between my legs as if I.
- 2:29Speaker 8: Had pissed myself I was just like oh god let's fucking.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Move get out of here and he gets up and
- 2:36Speaker 3: he's like.
- 2:36Speaker 8: I mean it's like yeah I was sticking to the
- 2:40Speaker 8: floor already I think maybe that was good to kind
- 2:42Speaker 8: of lube it up so they could break free or something.
- 2:46Speaker 6: Alright good times that's That's the true movie-going experience, right?
- 2:51Speaker 3: I've felt it.
- 2:52Speaker 9: I can't say I've had very many drunken movie experiences.
- 2:56Speaker 9: Some weed experiences. Some smoked-out experiences. I remember going.
- 3:02Speaker 3: To some movies in the late 70s where the whole
- 3:05Speaker 3: room would just be full of smoke. And, you know,
- 3:08Speaker 3: you're 12 years old. You're like, what the hell is
- 3:09Speaker 3: that smell? Yeah.
- 3:11Speaker 5: I was born on that smell, so it never really
- 3:13Speaker 5: surprised me.
- 3:14Speaker 7: Wow. Nice, nice.
- 3:15Speaker 3: I got a lot of it this weekend, which I
- 3:17Speaker 3: guess will lead into this week's geek activities.
- 3:20Speaker 4: What did you do?
- 3:21Speaker 6: Oh, there was actually a lot this week. A lot
- 3:23Speaker 6: of activity. The main thing was shifting boxes. Yeah, as
- 3:28Speaker 6: of yesterday, this was completely covered. Where we were sitting
- 3:31Speaker 6: was completely stacked with boxes to the point I had
- 3:33Speaker 6: a path to get through.
- 3:34Speaker 3: So, yeah. Nice. Yesterday, pretty much up at dawn, that's
- 3:38Speaker 3: all I did was shift boxes the hell out of
- 3:40Speaker 3: the way so we could actually function.
- 3:43Speaker 6: That kind of sucked. I won't go too much into
- 3:47Speaker 6: the specifics of the other activity that was going on yesterday.
- 3:51Speaker 5: Was it illegal?
- 3:52Speaker 6: No, no. Well, because it doesn't apply to 99.9% of
- 3:56Speaker 6: our listeners. Yesterday, in this town, they had the largest
- 3:59Speaker 6: freaking fireworks display in the country.
- 4:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:02Speaker 4: They went off late.
- 4:04Speaker 6: We don't have much in the city, but we do
- 4:06Speaker 6: blow more money on fireworks than anybody else in the country,
- 4:09Speaker 6: mind you.
- 4:09Speaker 3: So I double-checked.
- 4:10Speaker 6: They are still stating it is the largest annual pyrotechnic
- 4:13Speaker 6: display in North America.
- 4:14Speaker 4: Ooh.
- 4:15Speaker 3: Exciting. Well, I would never go downtown anymore and get
- 4:18Speaker 3: into that mess. I did watch it on TV, though.
- 4:21Speaker 3: It was actually pretty awesome.
- 4:23Speaker 6: That's the thing. And I haven't been since, what, 10,
- 4:26Speaker 6: 12 years? I think that time we walked down there
- 4:28Speaker 6: was the last time I went. But our new fabulous
- 4:33Speaker 6: location here is actually within walking distance. of the thriving
- 4:37Speaker 6: downtown metropolis here so um yeah i i decided like
- 4:40Speaker 6: i wasn't gonna leave the house all day that was
- 4:42Speaker 6: my plan because i knew people were gonna show up
- 4:44Speaker 6: and steal my parking spot and i'd have to get
- 4:46Speaker 6: around these losers and yokels as i.
- 4:48Speaker 3: Kept calling you wouldn't be able to get back in
- 4:50Speaker 3: yeah you.
- 4:51Speaker 6: Wouldn't you'd be blocked out of your own damn neighborhood
- 4:53Speaker 6: so screw that on the roof or something well no
- 4:55Speaker 6: that's what the neighbors did i didn't know that or
- 4:57Speaker 6: i would have just gone over there and bothered them
- 4:58Speaker 6: but um but yeah i waited i was like okay
- 5:00Speaker 6: i'm gonna wait till it's dark i'm not even gonna
- 5:01Speaker 6: go and get in the middle of it i'm gonna
- 5:03Speaker 6: wait till it's just about to start and i'm gonna
- 5:05Speaker 6: walk down there and see how close i can get
- 5:07Speaker 6: well because they took so long to start i was
- 5:09Speaker 6: there like in 15 minutes i was standing on the
- 5:12Speaker 6: waterfront looking at the bridge going oh well okay i
- 5:14Speaker 6: guess now i'll watch this shit so Front row seats.
- 5:19Speaker 3: So, yeah, that's all I really needed. I didn't need
- 5:21Speaker 3: the people. People suck.
- 5:23Speaker 6: It was just, you know, what was it, like 80, 100,000
- 5:25Speaker 6: people down there? I mean, it was a ridiculous amount
- 5:28Speaker 6: of people.
- 5:28Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah. The biggest bunch of dorks you'll ever... 700,000,
- 5:32Speaker 3: I think.
- 5:33Speaker 6: Because they've got music cranked up.
- 5:35Speaker 5: The lamest soundtrack I've ever heard.
- 5:39Speaker 3: They only play like 30 seconds of a song and
- 5:41Speaker 3: cut to another one.
- 5:42Speaker 5: What did you compare it to?
- 5:44Speaker 3: To Miley Cyrus.
- 5:47Speaker 9: Stole some gay Kentucky guy's iPod and just started flipping
- 5:51Speaker 9: through songs.
- 5:52Speaker 4: Because they were just like, damn, it's Lady Gaga, shit. Okay, oh,
- 5:56Speaker 4: here's some Michael Jackson. Wait, no, here's Lady Gaga again.
- 5:58Speaker 5: Here's Madonna.
- 5:59Speaker 4: Oh, Madonna, Lady Gaga.
- 6:00Speaker 5: It didn't flow. It never does.
- 6:02Speaker 3: It never does.
- 6:03Speaker 5: Usually it's at least a little bit better than that.
- 6:05Speaker 3: It's been bad for a long time. When they first
- 6:07Speaker 3: started it, they only used movie score music, and that
- 6:11Speaker 3: was pretty good.
- 6:12Speaker 4: It was pretty good at that point.
- 6:13Speaker 3: But now it's all like... 20-minute second clips of hip songs,
- 6:18Speaker 3: and then country songs come out.
- 6:19Speaker 4: We've got to throw something in for the country people.
- 6:21Speaker 6: The part that pissed me off the.
- 6:22Speaker 5: Most was the really bad cover of Thunderstruck.
- 6:25Speaker 7: Oh, my God!
- 6:28Speaker 3: I mean, at least in the past, they've actually played Thunderstruck.
- 6:31Speaker 5: I was like, what the?
- 6:32Speaker 4: Well, no, maybe because ACDC was in town and they
- 6:35Speaker 4: got in trouble for it.
- 6:35Speaker 3: Yeah, ACDC was in town on Wednesday, and I guess
- 6:39Speaker 3: they saw something. They probably saw a commercial or something.
- 6:42Speaker 4: Yeah, probably.
- 6:43Speaker 3: They probably did. What the hell is this?
- 6:45Speaker 4: We didn't sign for this.
- 6:46Speaker 6: We're not going to authorize this.
- 6:48Speaker 4: We're going to sue you.
- 6:50Speaker 3: If they were sitting in their hotel and the Thunder
- 6:51Speaker 3: over a little commercial comes on and it's playing Thunderstruck. Hey,
- 6:55Speaker 3: this is on the phone in 30 seconds. Now listen,
- 6:57Speaker 3: we gotta get rid of this.
- 6:59Speaker 4: Yeah, I guarantee you that's probably what happened. That would
- 7:00Speaker 4: be the worst cover ever. I'm glad I missed it all.
- 7:04Speaker 6: But this, and yeah, I would have too had it
- 7:06Speaker 6: not been so damn close. But to put it all
- 7:08Speaker 6: in perspective, as it was getting ready to start up,
- 7:10Speaker 6: they played... several versions of the National Anthem and God
- 7:14Speaker 6: Bless America. And nobody blinked an eye. Nobody paid attention.
- 7:17Speaker 6: But I'll be damned when the speakers started blaring out,
- 7:20Speaker 6: somebody call 911. Oh my God, you should have seen
- 7:23Speaker 6: the fucking crowd. What? This fucking, oh, 911. Did you
- 7:28Speaker 6: raise the roof?
- 7:30Speaker 4: Wait, 911's a joke? That song?
- 7:31Speaker 3: No, no, no. This is recent. This is, what is it?
- 7:34Speaker 3: It's fire burning.
- 7:36Speaker 8: It's, yeah.
- 7:37Speaker 5: I'm not hip.
- 7:38Speaker 3: Oh, obviously not. No, the rest.
- 7:40Speaker 6: Yeah, the rest of the crowd was just like, oh, yeah,
- 7:43Speaker 6: I know that one. So everybody lost their damn mind
- 7:46Speaker 6: and was jumping around. And this was the thing. It's
- 7:48Speaker 6: a good grouping of all different races, creeds, and colors.
- 7:52Speaker 6: And I have to say, this is the one unifying thing.
- 7:55Speaker 6: Nobody can fucking dance.
- 7:57Speaker 3: So just stop.
- 7:58Speaker 6: No matter, you name it. Everybody there was dancing around
- 8:01Speaker 6: and doing the worst shit I'd ever seen. I was
- 8:03Speaker 6: just staying here and watching fireworks for God's sake.
- 8:05Speaker 5: Stop. You were dancing, weren't you? You were doing the
- 8:07Speaker 5: white man overbite, weren't you?
- 8:09Speaker 3: No.
- 8:09Speaker 4: The noodle hybrid, you know.
- 8:11Speaker 3: Lame.
- 8:12Speaker 5: It was, yeah, chock full.
- 8:14Speaker 3: Anyway, the fireworks though. There actually was a couple of
- 8:17Speaker 3: fireworks kind of stunts that I had never seen last year.
- 8:19Speaker 3: They did a few.
- 8:20Speaker 6: Yeah, they did a few that I hadn't seen before. And, again,
- 8:24Speaker 6: seeing it so many damn years, I could give a
- 8:25Speaker 6: rat's ass now. So it's still, you know.
- 8:27Speaker 3: And I always like the ending because it looks like
- 8:28Speaker 3: a nuclear bomb just went off.
- 8:30Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 8:31Speaker 3: I love that.
- 8:31Speaker 6: That's what I keep waiting for, for them to just
- 8:33Speaker 6: fire them off all at once and just nuke the
- 8:35Speaker 6: whole place.
- 8:35Speaker 8: I was just waiting for, like, during the air show,
- 8:38Speaker 8: they just started, like, you know, they had a... an
- 8:40Speaker 8: old rickety barge out there that they need to scuttle
- 8:42Speaker 8: and they just like release like cluster bomb ordnance on
- 8:45Speaker 8: top of it or.
- 8:46Speaker 9: Something that would have been awesome napalm the river oops
- 8:49Speaker 9: napalm the waterfront along.
- 8:51Speaker 6: With it maybe doing us all a favor that was
- 8:53Speaker 6: entertaining too uh midway during the day they also do
- 8:56Speaker 6: an air show and yeah there was an air show
- 8:58Speaker 6: in my backyard so i didn't have to go anywhere
- 9:00Speaker 6: i just looked up and like harrier jets are flying
- 9:02Speaker 6: by Like, oh, that's kind of cool.
- 9:03Speaker 4: Pretty awesome.
- 9:04Speaker 3: Eating hot dogs and watching planes fly over it. Anyway,
- 9:08Speaker 3: if you don't live in Louisville, you probably don't care
- 9:10Speaker 3: what we're talking about.
- 9:11Speaker 6: Well, I just, yeah, again, there's no specific context for you,
- 9:14Speaker 6: but fireworks. I think we all know what that shit
- 9:16Speaker 6: looks like. So me making fun of the people that
- 9:18Speaker 6: are out there and them playing 9-1-1. Yeah, I just
- 9:21Speaker 6: had to throw that out there because that was fucking hilarious.
- 9:23Speaker 6: I mean, you really, it's about as Southern as you
- 9:25Speaker 6: can get. We get all patriotic and we blow shit up.
- 9:28Speaker 4: You get drunk.
- 9:29Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah. I like those two things, but not in
- 9:32Speaker 3: a weird redneck way. I'm all for blowing shit up.
- 9:36Speaker 3: Except it got cold last night. I felt sorry. I
- 9:38Speaker 3: was watching it on TV. I'm like, people have their
- 9:40Speaker 3: six-month-old babies out there. It's like 30 degrees or something. Yeah,
- 9:43Speaker 3: I didn't plan. You can see their breath coming out.
- 9:46Speaker 3: Once again, as I didn't plan, I just walked out
- 9:48Speaker 3: in a t-shirt. I was like, fuck it. I'm walking
- 9:50Speaker 3: down to the river. So, yeah.
- 9:53Speaker 6: Other than that, um the only other things was uh
- 9:56Speaker 6: i found a new packing uh thing to watch uh
- 9:59Speaker 6: it's been a while since i busted out the box
- 10:01Speaker 6: set of veronica mars so oh hell yeah fucking awesome
- 10:05Speaker 6: nice i forgot just how awesome a girl is she's
- 10:08Speaker 6: just kristen bill kristen is fucking hot but aside from
- 10:11Speaker 6: that like she's really good in it it's amazing how
- 10:14Speaker 6: well they for something that probably was going to get
- 10:17Speaker 6: canceled within the first few episodes luckily it didn't but
- 10:20Speaker 6: i'm surprised it make it as far as it did
- 10:22Speaker 6: it's they put a lot of time into writing on
- 10:25Speaker 6: it and it's i don't know it's pretty well pieced
- 10:27Speaker 6: together as tv goes because usually i don't care about
- 10:29Speaker 6: tv so.
- 10:31Speaker 5: She's just so damn cute. I want to put her
- 10:33Speaker 5: in my pocket and carry her around.
- 10:34Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 10:35Speaker 6: Other than that, I just watched the special guest episodes
- 10:38Speaker 6: that were on TV, again, while I was putting shit away.
- 10:41Speaker 6: Earlier in the week, there was an episode of Bones,
- 10:43Speaker 6: which I don't normally watch, but I saw the commercial
- 10:46Speaker 6: coming on, and it was the one with special guest
- 10:48Speaker 6: Robert Englund.
- 10:48Speaker 10: Hmm.
- 10:49Speaker 6: Yeah, I feel bad for Robert Englund, because I don't
- 10:52Speaker 6: think he's a terrible actor, but nobody gives him anything
- 10:55Speaker 6: to do, ever. Like, he's in this thing for a full, maybe,
- 10:59Speaker 6: five minutes, if you pieced everything together on a little
- 11:02Speaker 6: YouTube clip. Because, I mean, that's it. They piece him in,
- 11:05Speaker 6: and he's just there to be the decoy.
- 11:07Speaker 3: He's like the guy that owns the amusement park on Scooby-Doo, basically.
- 11:11Speaker 6: He's there to be creepy, and to make you think, oh,
- 11:13Speaker 6: he did.
- 11:14Speaker 3: And then at the end, you know, obviously he's not
- 11:15Speaker 3: going to do it because he looks like he's the
- 11:17Speaker 3: one that did it. Maybe some of his past work
- 11:19Speaker 3: might make him seem kind of suspicious.
- 11:22Speaker 6: No, I mean, they had him nothing but surrounded by
- 11:24Speaker 6: blades the whole time. He's saying lines like, you never
- 11:27Speaker 6: know when you might need to cut something.
- 11:29Speaker 3: Oh, subtle, thanks. So, yeah, that's... Yeah.
- 11:34Speaker 4: Good times.
- 11:35Speaker 5: How about the next special?
- 11:37Speaker 3: The other special guest? That was the other one I watched.
- 11:39Speaker 6: Yeah, I couldn't pass up watching The Wizard of Waverly
- 11:42Speaker 6: Place with special guest Shakira.
- 11:44Speaker 5: Hell yeah.
- 11:45Speaker 6: Holy shit.
- 11:46Speaker 4: Oh, my God.
- 11:48Speaker 3: I don't even like Shakira, but anytime there's a special
- 11:50Speaker 3: guest celebrity on any.
- 11:52Speaker 6: Show, it's going to be bad.
- 11:53Speaker 5: I was hoping she'd bring Danzu with her.
- 11:55Speaker 6: That's what I said.
- 11:56Speaker 3: I'm one of Shakira's biggest fans. That's all you, man.
- 11:59Speaker 3: And I've never heard a single song from her. I
- 12:01Speaker 3: just zone out as soon as she comes on the screen.
- 12:04Speaker 6: I really was hoping Danzig would come walking in with
- 12:06Speaker 6: burritos at some point. Like, yes.
- 12:09Speaker 5: I don't get it. She moves weird, and it looks
- 12:12Speaker 5: like she's having convulsions.
- 12:13Speaker 6: And for some people, that's sexy.
- 12:14Speaker 5: And to me, it's just like, ooh, put that away.
- 12:17Speaker 6: Everything about her should be sexy, but something about it
- 12:19Speaker 6: just does not flow.
- 12:20Speaker 5: She seems to think she's pretty hot.
- 12:22Speaker 3: Give me Kristen Bell.
- 12:24Speaker 4: Oh, yes.
- 12:25Speaker 3: So, yeah, that's pretty much what I did. Anyone else?
- 12:28Speaker 8: My geek activity has been lacking over the past month.
- 12:32Speaker 1: Slacker.
- 12:33Speaker 8: Basically just, you know, working and having no life, and
- 12:36Speaker 8: that's okay, but.
- 12:38Speaker 3: Well, you've picked up extra work.
- 12:39Speaker 8: Yeah, I've picked up extra work, which is, you know,
- 12:41Speaker 8: good in some ways, but losing my, I guess, my
- 12:46Speaker 8: movie outlet kind of was one reason to change my
- 12:50Speaker 8: working situation, so.
- 12:53Speaker 4: Not only having as much access as I.
- 12:54Speaker 8: Have normally had towards movies and being able to watch
- 12:57Speaker 8: them at, you know, nauseam, I've kind of slowed down.
- 13:01Speaker 8: I just watch things that I've seen before, but, you know,
- 13:04Speaker 8: still love, so I.
- 13:05Speaker 4: Go back over those. That Roger got a girlfriend, so
- 13:07Speaker 4: that's why he's not watching movies.
- 13:08Speaker 2: Oh.
- 13:09Speaker 5: Is that his actual girlfriend, or did he just pay
- 13:11Speaker 5: her to be there to trick us all?
- 13:12Speaker 4: No, no, it's his girlfriend. I saw him holding hands.
- 13:14Speaker 3: I saw that, too.
- 13:15Speaker 5: It's all an elaborate plan.
- 13:16Speaker 8: Kind of, you know, had a girlfriend for a while, but,
- 13:19Speaker 8: you know, y'all wouldn't know, because I don't tell y'all shit.
- 13:21Speaker 4: Keep it on the downloads.
- 13:22Speaker 3: I ain't telling y'all either.
- 13:24Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly.
- 13:24Speaker 3: I just didn't get her to show up this time.
- 13:27Speaker 3: I'm not, you know.
- 13:28Speaker 8: But Kick-Ass was like, I'm like, yeah, you should definitely
- 13:30Speaker 8: come and see Kick-Ass.
- 13:31Speaker 4: She's like, I'm coming to see Kick-Ass. Just so they
- 13:34Speaker 4: know I've got a real girlfriend. I don't give a
- 13:36Speaker 4: shit what you want me to do.
- 13:38Speaker 3: I'm all for it, man.
- 13:39Speaker 4: Good for you. But that was it. That's my lack
- 13:42Speaker 4: of geek activities.
- 13:44Speaker 7: We've missed several weeks here, so we've had several weeks
- 13:47Speaker 7: to build up some stuff, and I'm sure we've forgotten.
- 13:49Speaker 3: Most of what we want.
- 13:49Speaker 4: Yeah, we forgot half of it.
- 13:50Speaker 7: We do have a short list. Yesterday, was it yesterday
- 13:53Speaker 7: that I partook in the joy and wonder that was
- 13:56Speaker 7: Flew Bird Horror.
- 13:57Speaker 4: Yeah, it was.
- 13:59Speaker 7: That would be a sci-fi original right there starring a
- 14:02Speaker 7: whole bunch of nobodies.
- 14:03Speaker 3: What a shock.
- 14:04Speaker 7: Yeah, it involved, apparently there was these giant birds. Bluebirds.
- 14:09Speaker 3: It's awesome already.
- 14:10Speaker 5: But they actually look more like pterodactyls.
- 14:13Speaker 9: But they look like Terry the pterodactyl from Pee-wee's Playhouse.
- 14:18Speaker 3: Pee-wee's Playhouse, nice. Baby. I want to be the baby.
- 14:21Speaker 5: So yeah, I had to hear that during the movie
- 14:24Speaker 5: quite a few times.
- 14:25Speaker 4: Oh, wow.
- 14:25Speaker 3: What's that?
- 14:26Speaker 4: Because I hovered over top of her.
- 14:28Speaker 6: Now my nephew's super in the dinosaur phase. So he
- 14:32Speaker 6: will now correct you that usually anything you're looking at,
- 14:35Speaker 6: that's not a pterodactyl, that's a pterodon.
- 14:37Speaker 3: It's a pterodon. Duh. Either way. Don't say brontosaurus. It's
- 14:41Speaker 3: a brachiosaurus. Duh.
- 14:43Speaker 7: Either way, they never go into why these giant, freakish
- 14:47Speaker 7: pterodactyl birds are around. Or that apparently if you get
- 14:50Speaker 7: scratched by one of these, that you apparently get the
- 14:53Speaker 7: bird flu.
- 14:53Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 14:55Speaker 5: And it becomes airborne and you spread it around.
- 14:57Speaker 3: That all seems normal.
- 14:59Speaker 5: Yeah, it's a big old thing.
- 15:00Speaker 4: Are there zombies in this?
- 15:03Speaker 3: There's not a few.
- 15:04Speaker 5: Nobody that I actually know.
- 15:05Speaker 3: That's sad. They couldn't even pull in a has-been.
- 15:08Speaker 5: There's nobody I could even ID in this movie. Yeah,
- 15:11Speaker 5: it was one of the lower ranked sci-fi originals right there.
- 15:14Speaker 5: And that's saying something.
- 15:16Speaker 7: I tried to watch The Mortuary before that, but I
- 15:19Speaker 7: couldn't get into it because there was not enough CGI
- 15:21Speaker 7: monsters for me.
- 15:21Speaker 3: That's like the new Tubby Hooper. No, this is the remake.
- 15:25Speaker 3: The bad, like, recent remake. It's got Denise Crosby in it.
- 15:28Speaker 3: For some reason, I remember seeing it listed.
- 15:31Speaker 5: Either way, I gave up.
- 15:32Speaker 4: Couldn't watch that.
- 15:33Speaker 3: I went out and mowed the yard.
- 15:36Speaker 2: I did.
- 15:36Speaker 4: I was mowing the yard. I was like, you know what?
- 15:38Speaker 4: I've been putting off mowing the yard. It's going to
- 15:40Speaker 4: be a lot more fun than watching this movie.
- 15:42Speaker 3: That's sad.
- 15:43Speaker 7: We also, a couple weeks ago, we watched The Fourth Kind,
- 15:45Speaker 7: which I don't really know what I was expecting when
- 15:48Speaker 7: I went into this.
- 15:48Speaker 4: I don't know either.
- 15:49Speaker 3: Mila?
- 15:50Speaker 4: Yeah, that's pretty much all I was expecting.
- 15:51Speaker 6: That's what you were looking for.
- 15:52Speaker 4: Come on now.
- 15:52Speaker 5: The Fourth Kind was Mila, and apparently there was aliens involved.
- 15:55Speaker 4: Oh, yeah. The Close Encounters.
- 15:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:57Speaker 4: It wasn't too bad. The Abduction.
- 15:59Speaker 7: And then there was owls, and they're trying to play, like,
- 16:02Speaker 7: here's footage, and this is a reenactment. They're going to
- 16:06Speaker 7: blend in the original footage with Mila playing the part.
- 16:09Speaker 9: Yeah, they tried to double trick you, but they couldn't
- 16:12Speaker 9: double trick me.
- 16:12Speaker 6: Oh, you were so fooled.
- 16:14Speaker 3: I was.
- 16:15Speaker 4: I was scared. I thought them aliens were going to
- 16:17Speaker 4: come get me. They're going to come probe you. Far
- 16:19Speaker 4: in the sky.
- 16:21Speaker 3: All I know is the owls are not what they seem.
- 16:22Speaker 3: They apparently are not what they seem. They don't lie.
- 16:27Speaker 7: I went out and actually, you know, I seeked this
- 16:30Speaker 7: one out because I wanted to watch it because we
- 16:31Speaker 7: saw that there was the Rift Tracks version, so I
- 16:34Speaker 7: finally succumbed to the Twilight Saga New Moon.
- 16:38Speaker 3: Sucker.
- 16:38Speaker 4: She watched it without the Rift Tracks.
- 16:40Speaker 5: I wanted to go into it. I wanted to know
- 16:42Speaker 5: what I was getting into.
- 16:42Speaker 4: It's got some of the worst acting ever.
- 16:45Speaker 6: Yeah, both of them do.
- 16:46Speaker 4: It's like redonkulous how.
- 16:47Speaker 7: Bad the acting is. And her damn twitchy face and
- 16:49Speaker 7: the continual pauses.
- 16:51Speaker 6: It's just.
- 16:51Speaker 7: she can't get through an entire sentence without having to
- 16:54Speaker 7: pause for like five or six minutes.
- 16:56Speaker 5: And no, it's not dramatic at all.
- 16:58Speaker 7: It's just awkward and stuttery and just her face and
- 17:00Speaker 7: it twitches and it's just, uh, it was a train wreck.
- 17:02Speaker 7: But then we watched the riff tracks version of it,
- 17:04Speaker 7: which was hilarious.
- 17:06Speaker 4: Oh my God. That was hilarious and made the movie
- 17:08Speaker 4: completely enjoyable.
- 17:09Speaker 9: So boyfriends, if you, you know, you don't want to
- 17:14Speaker 9: watch twilight, either twilight or new moon, uh, Download Riff Trax.
- 17:21Speaker 9: It makes it hilarious. You'll laugh through the whole movie
- 17:24Speaker 9: while your girlfriend's sitting there going.
- 17:26Speaker 4: Oh, he's so sweet, Edward Cohen.
- 17:28Speaker 3: I don't know. If you have the Riff Trax playing,
- 17:30Speaker 3: I'm not sure your girlfriend's going to be that happy.
- 17:32Speaker 6: Well, see, here's the thing. You download it onto your iPod.
- 17:35Speaker 6: You sit there with the headphones on and.
- 17:38Speaker 4: Be like, this is awesome.
- 17:41Speaker 7: Lame as it is, I'm still Team Jacob because he
- 17:43Speaker 7: looks way hotter with his shirt off.
- 17:45Speaker 3: Obviously. Oh, yeah.
- 17:46Speaker 5: But then I finally broke down and watched in a
- 17:49Speaker 5: kind of connected way. Not really. I watched American Werewolf
- 17:51Speaker 5: in London.
- 17:52Speaker 4: I watched it too.
- 17:53Speaker 3: Werewolves.
- 17:53Speaker 7: Werewolves.
- 17:54Speaker 3: All right.
- 17:55Speaker 5: Yeah, I was not impressed. I'm sorry.
- 17:57Speaker 3: That's crazy, but I respect your opinion. What were your
- 18:00Speaker 3: problems with it?
- 18:01Speaker 9: See, here's the thing that I was telling her. I
- 18:02Speaker 9: haven't seen this movie either. It's one of those that
- 18:04Speaker 9: I just kind of not really put off, but.
- 18:06Speaker 4: It was one of those that, oh, you're going to see,
- 18:07Speaker 4: you're going to see, you're going to see.
- 18:08Speaker 5: There was so much buildup.
- 18:09Speaker 4: Yeah, there was so much buildup.
- 18:11Speaker 6: Which is always bad.
- 18:11Speaker 9: By the time I finally saw it, I was like,
- 18:14Speaker 9: I felt like by the time the movie got going,
- 18:16Speaker 9: I was like, yeah, I'm really interested.
- 18:17Speaker 4: Then it just ended.
- 18:18Speaker 3: And I was like, no! You've got to be kidding me.
- 18:21Speaker 7: And I've got to say, the worst damn soundtrack I
- 18:23Speaker 7: have ever heard in my entire life.
- 18:25Speaker 5: That music did not fit.
- 18:26Speaker 3: In any way. That's what he was going for.
- 18:29Speaker 5: It was horrible. Not even in a good way. Not
- 18:30Speaker 5: even in like a.
- 18:32Speaker 7: it's good because it's ironic no it just sucked ass
- 18:35Speaker 7: it sucked.
- 18:35Speaker 9: Yeah it's like somebody said let's go find some uh
- 18:38Speaker 9: soundtrack got moons in it and oh i don't know
- 18:42Speaker 9: if i.
- 18:42Speaker 6: Agree with that's how i operate every week the most
- 18:44Speaker 6: excited i got was when i saw a brief i
- 18:47Speaker 6: saw bricktop for a second i was like dude bricktop.
- 18:50Speaker 4: She identified bricktop and and.
- 18:51Speaker 7: The guy from uh fucking the never endings stories uh
- 18:55Speaker 7: sydney bromley was in and i got so excited because
- 18:57Speaker 7: it's the old the gnome guy from where the sphinxes
- 19:00Speaker 7: were and i was excited because.
- 19:01Speaker 3: I'm like super geek it's just another one of those
- 19:04Speaker 3: movies that if you haven't seen it all these years
- 19:07Speaker 3: it's really hard to pick up and explain to anybody
- 19:09Speaker 3: why i've it's good.
- 19:11Speaker 6: It kind of is for kids today again I can
- 19:13Speaker 6: see people having problems with the pacing now I mean
- 19:16Speaker 6: being exposed to movies the way they are now it's
- 19:19Speaker 6: done because they had to do it that way you
- 19:21Speaker 6: know at the time I've.
- 19:23Speaker 3: For years said I thought it was a little bit
- 19:25Speaker 3: overrated and I always thought I was saying something shocking
- 19:27Speaker 3: by saying that because most people just think it's awesome
- 19:29Speaker 3: yeah but I'm not the biggest world's biggest John Landis
- 19:33Speaker 3: fan in the world either yeah I mean he's been
- 19:36Speaker 3: real hit and miss the movies for.
- 19:37Speaker 4: It's time probably had great effects for it's time yeah.
- 19:40Speaker 9: Um, I thought it was good, but like I said,
- 19:43Speaker 9: it was one of those things that by the time
- 19:44Speaker 9: I got really into it, it ended.
- 19:46Speaker 4: And I was just like, God, I want more. Why
- 19:48Speaker 4: does this keep going?
- 19:51Speaker 7: Keep going?
- 19:52Speaker 6: I do really like the big wrap-up in London, so
- 19:55Speaker 6: I would see wanting more of that, and it just
- 19:57Speaker 6: kind of stops, obviously.
- 20:00Speaker 5: I just want Bricktop to be my cab driver.
- 20:02Speaker 4: That's all I want. And she wanted hotter guys in
- 20:04Speaker 4: the movie. Apparently the guys weren't hot enough.
- 20:07Speaker 7: Yeah, sometimes it's hard for me to get into a
- 20:08Speaker 7: movie if there are no attractive guys whatsoever.
- 20:10Speaker 5: I'm superficial like that. I need something to keep me entertained.
- 20:13Speaker 3: You don't like David Naughton? He's a pepper, man.
- 20:16Speaker 6: I can see David Naughton's kind of special. Griffin Dunn,
- 20:19Speaker 6: you know, in the day was sort of a tolerable guy.
- 20:22Speaker 3: Now he's just old. They're both just old now.
- 20:24Speaker 5: Yeah, it was not. Wasn't doing it for me.
- 20:27Speaker 3: What's her name that plays the nurse? Oh, the nurse.
- 20:30Speaker 3: She's in the front. I've lost her name, but she's
- 20:33Speaker 3: so hot.
- 20:34Speaker 4: Oh, my God. And then this is totally separate.
- 20:37Speaker 9: Me and the kids sat down yesterday morning and watched
- 20:40Speaker 9: the Mystery Science Theater version of Werewolf.
- 20:43Speaker 4: From 1999. Nice.
- 20:46Speaker 9: Starring a bunch of people that I don't know.
- 20:47Speaker 4: A bunch of werewolves? Yeah, yeah. Apparently the girl in
- 20:51Speaker 4: there can't say werewolf. She says werewolf.
- 20:54Speaker 3: What do you mean?
- 20:55Speaker 4: There's werewolves?
- 20:56Speaker 3: You know. You're like, no, there's werewolves.
- 21:00Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know. It was really bad.
- 21:02Speaker 3: Was Richard Lynch in that one?
- 21:03Speaker 9: I don't know who's in it, but I think one
- 21:06Speaker 9: of the Sheens is in it, but it's not a
- 21:08Speaker 9: famous Sheen.
- 21:09Speaker 3: It's like Rene Estevez, isn't it?
- 21:11Speaker 4: Yeah, or something like that.
- 21:13Speaker 3: I think it is. It looks like one of them.
- 21:17Speaker 3: I think it's Rene.
- 21:17Speaker 9: You can tell in the face, but it's like throughout
- 21:20Speaker 9: the whole movie they're making fun of like, hey, we're
- 21:21Speaker 9: going to make these movies, but we're going to grab like,
- 21:24Speaker 9: you know, instead of getting so-and-so, we'll get his.
- 21:26Speaker 4: Uncle to play.
- 21:28Speaker 3: That's how Hollywood works.
- 21:31Speaker 4: I think that was about it or as much of
- 21:33Speaker 4: it as we can remember.
- 21:35Speaker 3: Well, it's been a while.
- 21:36Speaker 4: Yeah, it's been a while.
- 21:37Speaker 9: I told her we needed to make a list while
- 21:38Speaker 9: we were watching that way to didn't forget.
- 21:41Speaker 7: We failed to we made the list yesterday so we
- 21:43Speaker 7: forgot a bunch of shit.
- 21:44Speaker 6: It's pretty bad if you're forgetting stuff too now he's
- 21:46Speaker 6: rubbing off.
- 21:47Speaker 7: On you he is it's contagious yeah it is alright
- 21:52Speaker 7: it's your turn somebody.
- 21:53Speaker 3: Else's alright I saw something I really liked this week
- 21:56Speaker 3: and it's not going to make you happy because Downey
- 21:58Speaker 3: faces him I saw The Runaways how was it? I
- 22:03Speaker 3: really liked it really?
- 22:04Speaker 7: I can't wait to see Did she do the twitchy,
- 22:06Speaker 7: lip-bitey thing a whole bunch? Because when I saw it
- 22:08Speaker 7: on the trailer, that's all they showed.
- 22:09Speaker 3: It's Kristen Stewart. That's all she does. I think she
- 22:11Speaker 3: basically pulls off Joan Jett, but I think she needed
- 22:14Speaker 3: a little extra growl and strut in the onstage scenes.
- 22:18Speaker 3: I mean, I can understand if she's just playing... joan
- 22:21Speaker 3: as a person because obviously she's not the same person
- 22:23Speaker 3: she is on stage joan's still more badass i think
- 22:26Speaker 3: she needs yeah she needs a little more energy in
- 22:28Speaker 3: the stage things but everybody else is dakota fanning she's
- 22:31Speaker 3: amazing see that's all the scenes i saw her just
- 22:35Speaker 3: awesome this taylor scott compton is a little role uh
- 22:38Speaker 3: playing lita ford and amazingly she looks just like her
- 22:41Speaker 3: i don't know if they use makeup or what but
- 22:43Speaker 3: it's it's pretty amazing and And then the drummer has
- 22:47Speaker 3: kind of a character. And then one of the other
- 22:48Speaker 3: girls was in the runaway, didn't want to have anything
- 22:50Speaker 3: to do with the project, so they just kind of
- 22:51Speaker 3: ignore her. But who really, really stands out is Michael
- 22:55Speaker 3: Shannon as Kim Fowley. He is amazing as a freakish,
- 22:59Speaker 3: you know, just asshole of a producer. He's not really
- 23:04Speaker 3: a villain in the film per se, but he's definitely
- 23:07Speaker 3: part of the conflict. Yeah. But this is a really
- 23:11Speaker 3: gritty movie, the kind of movie I haven't seen in
- 23:13Speaker 3: a while. Like we were saying last week, why did
- 23:16Speaker 3: Black Waters of Echo's Pond get a wide release and
- 23:19Speaker 3: this didn't? Well, that was a piece of shit. But
- 23:22Speaker 3: after seeing The Runaways, now I understand why. It's a
- 23:25Speaker 3: really gritty movie. You feel the street. And it's going
- 23:28Speaker 3: to make a lot of people uncomfortable because of the
- 23:30Speaker 3: age of the characters and even the actors. I mean,
- 23:33Speaker 3: Dakota Fanning's 15 and Cherry Curry was 15 when she
- 23:36Speaker 3: started in The Runaways. But it involves sex and drugs
- 23:40Speaker 3: and all that kind of stuff. Not in an exploitive way.
- 23:43Speaker 3: I mean, this is not for 40-year-old sleazeballs that want
- 23:45Speaker 3: to go in and drool over them. It's sort of
- 23:48Speaker 3: showcasing how they were exploited, really. But there's an honesty
- 23:51Speaker 3: about it. I mean, a lot of this stuff really
- 23:53Speaker 3: did happen. And it's... You know, I was kind of
- 23:56Speaker 3: floored by, wow, how did these girls deal with all
- 23:58Speaker 3: this kind of stuff at that age? And I really
- 24:00Speaker 3: liked the movie. I thought the pacing started to stretch
- 24:04Speaker 3: in the third act a little bit. It maybe could
- 24:06Speaker 3: be a little tight in there. But, I mean, I
- 24:09Speaker 3: have a hard time complaining because I thought the whole
- 24:11Speaker 3: film was actually really well done.
- 24:13Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:13Speaker 3: And I'll want to buy it on DVD. But, you know,
- 24:16Speaker 3: I like The Runaways anyway. Oh, yeah. They already had
- 24:19Speaker 3: me at Go, you know.
- 24:21Speaker 7: So.
- 24:22Speaker 3: But that's really the only thing I watched this weekend.
- 24:24Speaker 3: I can't recommend it more. It's not playing in very
- 24:26Speaker 3: many theaters out there, but you really need to get
- 24:28Speaker 3: out and support it, I think. Very cool. Even if
- 24:31Speaker 3: you don't like Kristen Stewart.
- 24:32Speaker 5: Oh, and I don't.
- 24:33Speaker 4: I don't either.
- 24:34Speaker 7: Her and her twitchy lip-bitey thing. She plays the same.
- 24:37Speaker 7: She's like the same person.
- 24:38Speaker 5: Over and over again.
- 24:39Speaker 3: It's because that's all she can do.
- 24:40Speaker 5: There's no branching out. It's, oh, look at me. I'm
- 24:43Speaker 5: going to bite my lip.
- 24:45Speaker 3: But Dakota's awesome, so I'll watch it for Dakota.
- 24:48Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 24:48Speaker 3: Well, you know, this might help turn you around on her, too, because,
- 24:53Speaker 3: I mean, she really looks like Joan Jett in this movie.
- 24:58Speaker 5: No, Joan Jett's way hotter.
- 24:59Speaker 3: Oh, I agree. Even now, right now. She captures part
- 25:04Speaker 3: of the essence of that character.
- 25:06Speaker 5: I'm not buying it.
- 25:07Speaker 3: She's such a badass. It would be hard for anybody
- 25:09Speaker 3: to be Joan Jett. I feel sorry for whoever they cast.
- 25:12Speaker 4: That's like saying Jason Scott Lee really pulled off Bruce Lee.
- 25:15Speaker 3: I thought he did. I thought he was great.
- 25:17Speaker 4: I thought he was horrible.
- 25:19Speaker 3: Really?
- 25:19Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 25:20Speaker 3: I thought he was going to be a big star
- 25:21Speaker 3: when I saw that. I did think that. He went nowhere.
- 25:24Speaker 3: He has a lot of charisma. He disappeared. Yeah.
- 25:26Speaker 4: That's what he gets for beating out Brandon. J.J.
- 25:29Speaker 3: Scott Lee went into that with a lot of humility.
- 25:31Speaker 3: I mean, I even read interviews with him, and he...
- 25:34Speaker 3: You know, he was a young actor. He wanted the
- 25:36Speaker 3: part because, you know, it's a high-profile part. But at
- 25:38Speaker 3: the same time, he was scared to death, you know,
- 25:42Speaker 3: that he would screw that up. You know, he didn't
- 25:44Speaker 3: think anybody could do it.
- 25:45Speaker 4: Well, no, nobody could.
- 25:46Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 25:47Speaker 3: Well, you know. I think he gave it a good shot.
- 25:49Speaker 3: He would get the Lee curse.
- 25:51Speaker 4: Yeah. He did.
- 25:52Speaker 6: He got the Lee curse. He caught it. He took
- 25:54Speaker 6: out his career instead of his life.
- 25:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:55Speaker 4: He took out his career.
- 25:56Speaker 3: Instead of his life.
- 25:58Speaker 4: And then he was in Jungle Book. Lucky Bastion. All right.
- 26:06Speaker 3: I guess that will wrap up the Geek Week. So
- 26:09Speaker 3: we will take a break and be back with What's
- 26:10Speaker 3: the Buzz?

- 28:34Speaker 2: and I just want to tell you, you've got to listen.
- 28:36Speaker 3: To Movie Meltdown.
- 28:38Speaker 10: That's www.moviemeltdown.com.
- 28:40Speaker 6: And if you don't know how to spell movie or meltdown,
- 28:43Speaker 6: then you.
- 28:44Speaker 2: Don't deserve to listen to it anyway.
- 28:46Speaker 3: Oh, you've got to do it. Repeat after me. A, B, C.
- 28:50Speaker 2: Easy as 1, 2, 3.
- 28:51Speaker 4: I'll say it when I.
- 28:53Speaker 1: Throw up with me. A, B, C. 1, 2.
- 28:58Speaker 3: We're back with What's the Buzz? Groovy. So what is
- 29:01Speaker 3: the buzz this week?
- 29:03Speaker 6: Well, we've had like weeks to build up.
- 29:05Speaker 3: We haven't done a full-fledged buzz in quite a while.
- 29:08Speaker 6: There's a lot of news out there. To me, playing catch-up,
- 29:18Speaker 6: I mean, there's only one big one that we kind
- 29:20Speaker 6: of missed that I figured we would throw out there. Because,
- 29:23Speaker 6: you know, I heard about it last week, but technically,
- 29:25Speaker 6: you know, we didn't get a chance to discuss it.
- 29:27Speaker 6: So the fact that it has now been confirmed that
- 29:29Speaker 6: Joss Whedon will direct The Avengers.
- 29:32Speaker 3: Yeah, how do you guys feel about that?
- 29:34Speaker 4: I like that.
- 29:35Speaker 5: I'm good.
- 29:35Speaker 8: He's written for comic books, you know, I can see
- 29:37Speaker 8: him kind of tap into that. I think it probably
- 29:40Speaker 8: will do a lot better if they let some other
- 29:42Speaker 8: no-name take it over.
- 29:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:44Speaker 4: Or even some people.
- 29:45Speaker 3: That's going to be a really hard film to make
- 29:48Speaker 3: to please the fans because... Almost everyone feels like all
- 29:52Speaker 3: of these Marvel movies are leading up to that. Like,
- 29:54Speaker 3: that's got to be the epic end-all, be-all of comic
- 29:57Speaker 3: book movies.
- 29:58Speaker 4: But it will be.
- 29:59Speaker 3: And I don't think it can be.
- 30:00Speaker 4: It'll just be another series, you know.
- 30:02Speaker 6: And it's, well, I mean, it's coming out midway through.
- 30:04Speaker 6: It's like, if they're doing all these planned ones, I mean,
- 30:06Speaker 6: it's coming out in 2012. So, I mean, they're not
- 30:09Speaker 6: going to get everything in before the Avengers comes out.
- 30:12Speaker 3: Well, could Pia possibly turn out to be an odd...
- 30:15Speaker 3: film for the actors too because robert downey jr is
- 30:18Speaker 3: now a huge star yeah and he can't take over
- 30:21Speaker 3: the movie that it can't be iron man 3 no
- 30:24Speaker 3: it has to be the avengers and in the avengers
- 30:26Speaker 3: it's really captain america that's the star so there's a
- 30:28Speaker 3: lot of question marks like are they all gonna really
- 30:31Speaker 3: step up to the plate and yeah and how's thor
- 30:35Speaker 3: gonna turn out and you know who's gonna be in
- 30:37Speaker 3: this and who isn't is ed norton gonna show up
- 30:39Speaker 3: is he not i mean we don't know any of this.
- 30:41Speaker 4: Stuff so who's playing thor.
- 30:44Speaker 3: You know, he's so unfamous, I don't even remember his name.
- 30:47Speaker 3: Isn't it Kirk's dad? Captain Kirk's dad.
- 30:49Speaker 4: Yeah, that's right.
- 30:50Speaker 3: It was Kirk. Star Trek. I was trying to remember.
- 30:52Speaker 6: I was like, I knew I remember they announced it,
- 30:53Speaker 6: but nobody was impressed by it.
- 30:55Speaker 3: Okay. I was impressed. He's pretty hot. I could watch that.
- 30:58Speaker 6: He's Kirk Sr. Of course you're impressed.
- 31:00Speaker 3: Everyone will know his name in a year or so,
- 31:02Speaker 3: I guess, after the.
- 31:03Speaker 11: Movie comes out.
- 31:05Speaker 4: Hey, speaking of Thor, remember that Incredible Hulk Thor TV
- 31:09Speaker 4: show where they had that? Oh, that was hilarious. Where
- 31:12Speaker 4: he couldn't figure out the shower.
- 31:14Speaker 3: And stuff yeah they brought it was one of the
- 31:18Speaker 3: made for TV Hulk movies where they brought Thor in
- 31:21Speaker 3: and oh my god that showed everything that is problematic
- 31:26Speaker 3: about bringing Thor into reality but they even had Donald
- 31:30Speaker 3: Blake in it he was a big beer swilling college
- 31:33Speaker 3: frat boy Thor guy oh my god it was bad
- 31:36Speaker 3: they brought Daredevil in too to one of those but
- 31:39Speaker 3: he didn't have the red costume he just had like
- 31:41Speaker 3: a ninja costume or.
- 31:42Speaker 4: Something yeah Gosh, that was terrible.
- 31:45Speaker 3: It was.
- 31:46Speaker 4: It was bad.
- 31:47Speaker 10: So, I don't know.
- 31:48Speaker 6: I was a little more concerned on the Joss situation.
- 31:51Speaker 5: Is he done making the most awesomest movie ever?
- 31:54Speaker 3: According to him, I guess so. I don't know. Cabin
- 31:57Speaker 3: in the Woods, wasn't that it?
- 31:58Speaker 7: Oh, yeah.
- 31:59Speaker 5: I'm lined up for that.
- 32:00Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 32:01Speaker 6: According to him, there won't need to be horror movies
- 32:03Speaker 6: after that. He just needs to kind of check that
- 32:06Speaker 6: attitude a little bit. He's been bragging quite a bit
- 32:08Speaker 6: about this movie.
- 32:09Speaker 4: He wasn't working on a super-duper Buffy movie.
- 32:11Speaker 3: You'd think. I mean, you know the market's there. See,
- 32:14Speaker 3: I haven't seen anything on Cabin in the Woods, and
- 32:16Speaker 3: it's really hard for me to believe it's going to
- 32:18Speaker 3: be that awesome based on the title and what that
- 32:21Speaker 3: implies in that.
- 32:22Speaker 4: That's going to be a cabin in the woods.
- 32:24Speaker 3: I believe it's called Evil Dead. We've seen that. Yeah.
- 32:29Speaker 6: But, yeah, the only thing that, I mean, we know
- 32:32Speaker 6: as a director he's kind of hit and miss. I mean,
- 32:33Speaker 6: he's only done really one big movie, and it's well-received, but,
- 32:37Speaker 6: I mean, you know, Serenity was pretty much all he's
- 32:39Speaker 6: done for the big screen. So the only thing that,
- 32:41Speaker 6: I mean, he's pretty solid as a writer, and now
- 32:44Speaker 6: they're saying he's rewriting the Avengers script. So I think
- 32:47Speaker 6: that's probably the most promising news to come out of this.
- 32:49Speaker 3: You need a director for something like that that's not
- 32:52Speaker 3: so serious about putting their own staple on it, I guess.
- 32:55Speaker 3: It almost has to be somebody that will roll with the...
- 32:58Speaker 3: You know, because there's so much shit in that. I mean, yeah,
- 33:00Speaker 3: you're going to be combining the work of so many
- 33:02Speaker 3: previous directors, plus every star and, you know... Producer, and
- 33:06Speaker 3: everyone's going to have their two cents on that.
- 33:08Speaker 6: Marvel calling shots from behind the scenes now. Disney, yeah,
- 33:11Speaker 6: really running the whole show, so... Yeah, there's so much
- 33:14Speaker 6: involved in this, it's going to be kind of hard
- 33:17Speaker 6: for anybody to do it.
- 33:18Speaker 3: So, good luck, Josh. I mean, I hope it's good
- 33:21Speaker 3: and entertaining, but I can probably tell you right now
- 33:24Speaker 3: that it's not going to please the fans the way
- 33:26Speaker 3: they want it to.
- 33:27Speaker 6: No, I don't think it's possible for it to do
- 33:30Speaker 6: everything that it would have.
- 33:31Speaker 3: To do to make people happy. Yeah, exactly. All right,
- 33:35Speaker 3: moving on. That was the old one. I figure we
- 33:37Speaker 3: better at least throw it out there. The new stuff. Well, the.
- 33:42Speaker 6: The South Park guys did it with movies like Orgasmo
- 33:45Speaker 6: and Team America, but now Seth MacFarlane is branching out
- 33:48Speaker 6: onto the big screen. MacFarlane, the creator of Family Guy,
- 33:53Speaker 6: American Dad, The Cleveland Show, and anything Fox has to
- 33:55Speaker 6: offer at this point. He's not doing the long-awaited Family
- 33:58Speaker 6: Guy movie, which probably is not a good idea anyway,
- 34:01Speaker 6: but he's instead making his feature debut with Ted, a
- 34:05Speaker 6: hard-R comedy about an adult man and his teddy bear.
- 34:10Speaker 3: Anyone?
- 34:11Speaker 5: No, I got nothing.
- 34:14Speaker 6: They say further details aren't known about Ted, but they
- 34:17Speaker 6: say the concept sounds a lot like the beaver, which
- 34:20Speaker 6: is the ridiculous Mel Gibson movie that's coming out.
- 34:23Speaker 3: So I don't know if he's.
- 34:24Speaker 6: Making fun of that or if this has been in
- 34:26Speaker 6: works for longer than that.
- 34:28Speaker 3: But something like that is just too hard to call
- 34:30Speaker 3: until you see anything yeah i mean because it could
- 34:32Speaker 3: be brilliant or it could just be absolutely terrible yeah
- 34:35Speaker 3: and it's really hard to call.
- 34:37Speaker 6: Well and they're it says it's uh they're producing the
- 34:39Speaker 6: live action cgi animated movie so that sounds like trouble
- 34:43Speaker 6: anyway i mean if it's not just going to be
- 34:45Speaker 6: a straight animated movie Or even a bad CGI movie.
- 34:49Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 34:50Speaker 6: He works pretty well in very simple animation. So trying
- 34:53Speaker 6: to then get crazy CGI and mesh it with live
- 34:57Speaker 6: action sounds like a lot of trouble.
- 34:58Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 35:00Speaker 6: But he's getting a $ 65 million budget. So let's hope,
- 35:03Speaker 6: you know, he can pull something off.
- 35:06Speaker 3: $ 65 million, I would hope so.
- 35:08Speaker 6: And of course, not only is he writing the script,
- 35:10Speaker 6: but he will be the voice of the teddy bear.
- 35:12Speaker 6: Because he does 90% of his voices.
- 35:14Speaker 3: Anyway, so. Alright.
- 35:17Speaker 6: The 1999 death of Stanley Kubrick left many of the
- 35:20Speaker 6: director's potential projects unrealized, although they did do AI as
- 35:25Speaker 6: sort of a tribute. But one of the oldest and
- 35:27Speaker 6: unproduced projects was a treatment that Kubrick commissioned noir novelist
- 35:31Speaker 6: Jim Thompson to write called Lunatic at Large. Kubrick lost
- 35:36Speaker 6: the treatment in his home, though, and it wasn't found
- 35:38Speaker 6: until 1999 by his son-in-law after his death. So I
- 35:43Speaker 6: guess then they sent it out and started getting people
- 35:45Speaker 6: ready to make it because uh now they've already got
- 35:47Speaker 6: co-stars and everything uh two of the stars of iron
- 35:50Speaker 6: man 2 are attached to star in this version of
- 35:52Speaker 6: lunatic at large scarlett johansson and sam rockwell so sam
- 35:57Speaker 6: rockwell is a good sign.
- 35:58Speaker 3: He's a hell of a good hell of an actor
- 36:02Speaker 3: he got screwed on moon this year so it's yeah
- 36:05Speaker 3: yeah he's i If he's actually kind of the lead
- 36:08Speaker 3: in this, it's promising. Scarlet looks good, so what are
- 36:11Speaker 3: you going to do? That's her saving grace. She can
- 36:13Speaker 3: be terrible.
- 36:14Speaker 6: Yeah, she's not always the best, but she looks good.
- 36:19Speaker 4: I thought that movie was just about her boobs.
- 36:22Speaker 3: Most movies are just about her boobs.
- 36:23Speaker 5: That's all you need, really. She does have fantastic boobs.
- 36:26Speaker 3: You can't argue that.
- 36:27Speaker 4: I thought the spirit was just a boob. That's what
- 36:31Speaker 4: it looks like.
- 36:31Speaker 3: So, yeah, this story is set in 1956 New York,
- 36:35Speaker 3: and it's the relationship between an ex-carnie with anger management
- 36:38Speaker 3: issues and a nervous but attractive barfly.
- 36:41Speaker 9: There are no such thing as carnies with anger issues.
- 36:46Speaker 4: They're the most peaceful people I've ever met.
- 36:48Speaker 3: That's how you get to be a carnie, isn't it?
- 36:50Speaker 3: You get bumped out of real jobs for the rest
- 36:52Speaker 3: of your life, and then you're a carnie. It just happens.
- 36:55Speaker 5: That one Carney who's always at the fair is my favorite.
- 36:57Speaker 5: He sounds just like Tom Waits.
- 36:59Speaker 6: That is awesome.
- 37:00Speaker 5: He's there every year.
- 37:01Speaker 6: And I would expect everybody that works at the fair
- 37:03Speaker 6: to sound like Tom Waits, really. Doesn't that seem fitting?
- 37:06Speaker 5: Why isn't Tom Waits a Carney?
- 37:10Speaker 3: Well, he is, kind of. Yeah, he's a Carney of
- 37:13Speaker 3: his own career, really.
- 37:15Speaker 4: What time is it? It's time for you to come
- 37:17Speaker 4: play this game.
- 37:19Speaker 5: That's not right at all.
- 37:21Speaker 3: So, yeah, I don't know.
- 37:22Speaker 6: That's still pretty far off. But just interesting that they're
- 37:25Speaker 6: still picking up more Kubrick projects. Anything that somehow even
- 37:29Speaker 6: came in contact with them, it's, you know, anybody can
- 37:32Speaker 6: grab a hold of it and put it out. It
- 37:34Speaker 6: gives it that tie that, you know, at least people
- 37:36Speaker 6: will take notice of. Sure.
- 37:38Speaker 3: I can see that.
- 37:39Speaker 6: Kind of weird that they're still mining his old stuff
- 37:42Speaker 6: that was lost in his house, actually.
- 37:44Speaker 3: We have the remakes next.
- 37:45Speaker 5: Oh, God.
- 37:46Speaker 3: Do we need remakes? The remake of A Clockwork Orange.
- 37:50Speaker 3: It'll happen someday. God help us.
- 37:53Speaker 5: Especially now that you've said that, I hope you're happy.
- 37:56Speaker 6: Okay, so I saw this story, and it reminded me
- 37:59Speaker 6: of many things that have been annoying over the last
- 38:01Speaker 6: few years, but one of which that mostly makes no sense.
- 38:05Speaker 6: Chris Rock is funny. I think most of us can
- 38:07Speaker 6: agree he's a funny guy. No, it's just as a comedian,
- 38:10Speaker 6: as a guy, he's a funny dude. Why is it
- 38:13Speaker 6: so damn hard for him to make a good movie?
- 38:15Speaker 6: Because he makes crap, and we all know it. I mean...
- 38:18Speaker 6: But I think I hadn't noticed he's been building his
- 38:21Speaker 6: career now out of comedy remakes. And I think I'd
- 38:24Speaker 6: forgotten about how many there were. So, yeah, it gets
- 38:27Speaker 6: ridiculous when you start running them down. First, there was
- 38:29Speaker 6: Down to Earth, the Warren Beatty ripoff, which was almost
- 38:32Speaker 6: exactly stealing from, you know, that movie. followed by I
- 38:37Speaker 6: Think I Love My Wife, which I don't think I
- 38:39Speaker 6: realized was originally a French movie that he stole and
- 38:42Speaker 6: put in here. Now, this weekend, we've got Death at
- 38:45Speaker 6: a Funeral. Now, I've been wanting to bitch about this
- 38:47Speaker 6: for a while now, and this isn't so much bitching
- 38:49Speaker 6: about him as our country as a whole.
- 38:53Speaker 3: Death at a Funeral was a British movie. Here comes
- 38:56Speaker 3: Brian's fear of black people again. No, I could care
- 38:59Speaker 3: less about that. It's America.
- 39:02Speaker 6: Why are Americans so stupid? It's bad enough we can't
- 39:05Speaker 6: watch a foreign film. And I'm the first to say, okay,
- 39:08Speaker 6: reading's hard. I understand. But if it's a good movie,
- 39:11Speaker 6: most people should have sense enough to just watch a movie.
- 39:14Speaker 3: So it's bad enough when they have to take, like.
- 39:16Speaker 6: You know, foreign language films and transfer them into a
- 39:19Speaker 6: cheesy American version for us to be able to stomach them.
- 39:22Speaker 6: But Death at a Funeral is a British movie. It's
- 39:26Speaker 6: in English, for God's sakes, and they had to remake
- 39:28Speaker 6: it for American.
- 39:29Speaker 4: Movie, Ghostbusters.
- 39:30Speaker 3: Audiences.
- 39:30Speaker 9: Well, yeah, they had to put American-style jokes in it.
- 39:33Speaker 9: They've got to spoon-feed people because they're.
- 39:36Speaker 4: Not smart enough.
- 39:36Speaker 3: It looks like a Tyler Perry movie.
- 39:37Speaker 6: It does, but I mean, it's like they're crossing over.
- 39:39Speaker 6: It's like they're taking what was successful about the other movie,
- 39:42Speaker 6: cramming in every black actor we can come up with,
- 39:45Speaker 6: and just, you know, rehashing. They haven't took the white guy,
- 39:47Speaker 6: so they're all set.
- 39:48Speaker 3: Well, yeah. I guess I feel a little bad for
- 39:50Speaker 3: Chris Rock, because, you know, there are a lot of really,
- 39:52Speaker 3: really talented comedians in Hollywood. that whenever they make a film,
- 39:57Speaker 3: the films are just total crap, and it's almost like
- 39:59Speaker 3: they have no choice. That's the only thing that they
- 40:01Speaker 3: can get made. That's what seems to happen, but why
- 40:04Speaker 3: he's taking these projects, I don't know. This has taken
- 40:07Speaker 3: me 10 years to come there, but I'm finally convinced
- 40:10Speaker 3: that Jimmy Fallon is actually very talented and intelligent, but
- 40:14Speaker 3: his movies are the worst movies you could possibly ever make. Yeah. Oh,
- 40:18Speaker 3: but he just can't make a good movie. He's just
- 40:20Speaker 3: an awkward performer is his problem. He works best as himself, actually.
- 40:24Speaker 5: So, I mean, he works best when Tina Fey writes.
- 40:27Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. But I mean, even then
- 40:29Speaker 3: he can't get it out. Like, go watch any clip.
- 40:32Speaker 3: She is obviously really talented, but her movies basically usually suck.
- 40:37Speaker 3: I mean if she's in a theatrical film if she's
- 40:39Speaker 3: acting in them if she writes them you know Mean
- 40:42Speaker 3: Girls is awesome and that's because she wrote it it's
- 40:44Speaker 3: like she can write an amazing script but yeah you
- 40:47Speaker 3: just stick her I'm talking about when she's in a
- 40:49Speaker 3: film stick her in a bad movie like the one
- 40:51Speaker 3: that just came out you know a week ago with
- 40:53Speaker 3: Steve Carell it's gonna be bad Steve Carell is someone
- 40:56Speaker 3: I'm convinced who isn't talented at all.
- 40:58Speaker 6: I'm kind of with you on that I hate that
- 41:00Speaker 6: I know most of the country doesn't side with me
- 41:02Speaker 6: but I just yeah I'm not sold on him I'm.
- 41:04Speaker 5: Voting for you with that one because I hate him
- 41:06Speaker 5: I'm not.
- 41:06Speaker 6: Sold on him so this one yeah it's so frustrating
- 41:10Speaker 6: with Chris Rock because I think he's funny I think
- 41:12Speaker 6: he's a hell of a comedian and even his TV
- 41:14Speaker 6: show is funny but when it comes to movies he
- 41:16Speaker 6: can't touch one and it doesn't just turn to shit
- 41:19Speaker 6: I don't understand And he continues... Eddie Murphy's been.
- 41:23Speaker 3: In that same boat. No, because he started off with
- 41:26Speaker 3: good movies. Oh, absolutely. I don't know if Chris Rock
- 41:28Speaker 3: was ever really in.
- 41:29Speaker 6: I mean, he's been a side character in a few
- 41:31Speaker 6: tolerable movies, but anything he's been a lead in has
- 41:33Speaker 6: been pretty bad from the get-go.
- 41:34Speaker 3: Yeah, he's no Beverly Hills cop. Yeah, so there was
- 41:37Speaker 3: nothing to sort of carry him. He's a lethal weapon for.
- 41:41Speaker 3: My point exactly.
- 41:42Speaker 4: Still no Beverly Hills cop.
- 41:45Speaker 6: So, yeah, once again, he's headed down the same road.
- 41:47Speaker 6: The next remake that Chris Rock is attaching himself to,
- 41:50Speaker 6: and now he's almost crossing a line, because at least
- 41:52Speaker 6: before he was just taking cheesy comedies and ripping them off.
- 41:55Speaker 6: This next one is High and Low, the 1963 classic
- 41:59Speaker 6: Japanese kidnapping thriller directed by Kurosawa. How are you going
- 42:03Speaker 6: to fucking take Kurosawa and make it a bad.
- 42:06Speaker 3: Chris Rock movie?
- 42:07Speaker 6: I don't understand.
- 42:08Speaker 4: There are ways.
- 42:09Speaker 3: You'll find a way. And on top of that, they're
- 42:12Speaker 3: getting a real director.
- 42:13Speaker 6: Mike Nichols is directing this. Holy shit.
- 42:16Speaker 3: It's going to be the worst movie ever.
- 42:17Speaker 6: What the hell is going on here? I mean, he's
- 42:19Speaker 6: a name, and they're going to throw Chris Rock in
- 42:22Speaker 6: the middle of it. On top of that, it continues
- 42:26Speaker 6: to get worse.
- 42:26Speaker 3: I assume that this is going to be some kind
- 42:27Speaker 3: of dramatic... thing that he's gonna try.
- 42:30Speaker 6: I guess but i mean even on on top of
- 42:32Speaker 6: that there he's rewriting this movie and i.
- 42:35Speaker 3: Hope it's not then turn out one of those movies
- 42:37Speaker 3: where mike nichols is thinking you know what i'll think
- 42:39Speaker 3: i'll try i'll try comedy and chris rock is on
- 42:42Speaker 3: the other side going you know what i think i'll
- 42:44Speaker 3: try drama and then you know that happened to like
- 42:47Speaker 3: john carpenter and chevy chase and then Invisible Man movie.
- 42:51Speaker 11: Wow.
- 42:52Speaker 3: And this has happened before with Wes Craven and Eddie
- 42:54Speaker 3: Murphy and that vampire thing where the director and the
- 42:57Speaker 3: actor are thinking two different things and then the movies
- 42:59Speaker 3: just turn out really bad.
- 43:01Speaker 4: Which one was that? Vampire in Brooklyn?
- 43:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 43:03Speaker 4: God, I love that movie.
- 43:05Speaker 6: It's so horrible.
- 43:06Speaker 7: It's awesome.
- 43:08Speaker 3: It's so bad.
- 43:11Speaker 4: I love that movie. Atrocious.
- 43:13Speaker 3: It was one of those movies where Wes Craven's like,
- 43:15Speaker 3: you know, I'll try to be funny. And Eddie Murphy's like,
- 43:18Speaker 3: I think I'll try to be serious.
- 43:20Speaker 4: That movie's horrible. It's so uncomfortable to watch, but it's
- 43:24Speaker 4: so funny.
- 43:25Speaker 6: Sometimes you can't cross over, and you have to realize that.
- 43:28Speaker 6: But this one, no, it's even more weird because Chris
- 43:31Speaker 6: Rock is rewriting this movie, and he's rewriting it after
- 43:35Speaker 6: he's replacing David Mamet. Pulitzer Prize winner, David Mamet.
- 43:40Speaker 4: Well, yeah, nobody needs him.
- 43:41Speaker 3: Why? Man, I actually think David Mamet is one of
- 43:44Speaker 3: the best writers for dialogue and stuff out there.
- 43:48Speaker 6: He is.
- 43:48Speaker 3: If you're rewriting him, you need to go see a
- 43:50Speaker 3: doctor because, you know, something's wrong with what you're thinking
- 43:54Speaker 3: if you're rewriting him.
- 43:54Speaker 6: I don't know what to think of this movie. How
- 43:57Speaker 6: many train wrecks can ram into each other?
- 43:59Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 44:01Speaker 7: More.
- 44:02Speaker 3: So, yeah. I'll fix that mammy piece of shit.
- 44:05Speaker 4: Yeah, really. I'll make him funny.
- 44:07Speaker 3: We'll punch this thing up. That's what we need.
- 44:09Speaker 1: Oh, Lord.
- 44:11Speaker 3: So. Okay, Misty, what if I told you?
- 44:13Speaker 7: Oh, no.
- 44:14Speaker 3: They're making a Guns N' Roses biopic. Nice.
- 44:16Speaker 6: Starring Jamie Foxx.
- 44:18Speaker 7: What?
- 44:18Speaker 4: What?
- 44:19Speaker 3: What? No, wait, what? Okay, that's all bullshit. It's not
- 44:23Speaker 3: April 1st.
- 44:24Speaker 4: Jamie Foxx.
- 44:25Speaker 3: Jamie Foxx.
- 44:28Speaker 6: Jamie Foxx is teaming up with 20th Century Fox Animation
- 44:31Speaker 6: on a closely guarded animated musical project called Welcome to
- 44:34Speaker 6: the Jungle.
- 44:35Speaker 4: Oh, what?
- 44:36Speaker 3: Yes.
- 44:36Speaker 4: Welcome to the Jungle, baby.
- 44:38Speaker 3: You're gonna die.
- 44:38Speaker 5: There you go. I've been in love with Axl Rose
- 44:42Speaker 5: since I was 12.
- 44:44Speaker 4: Even nowadays? He's freaking creepy.
- 44:46Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 44:46Speaker 5: But he still has a special place in my heart.
- 44:49Speaker 5: The creepy place in my heart.
- 44:51Speaker 4: Behind the stuffed animal pile in the closet.
- 44:55Speaker 3: Next to the white snake poster.
- 44:57Speaker 5: I gave you my white snake poster.
- 44:59Speaker 3: I know. I think I'm going to hang it up again.
- 45:00Speaker 3: It's pretty fucking awesome.
- 45:01Speaker 5: You totally should. It was awesome.
- 45:02Speaker 3: It's awesome. So, yeah, I don't know. No details yet
- 45:06Speaker 3: on Welcome to the Jungle, but the tagline is, Life
- 45:09Speaker 3: is a jungle and welcome to it. Yeah, this is
- 45:12Speaker 3: going to be bad. It's basically Madagascar.
- 45:14Speaker 6: That's what they're saying. It's just going to be similar
- 45:17Speaker 6: to Madagascar. And it's even scarier because Jamie Foxx is producing,
- 45:21Speaker 6: starring as the voice talent, and writing original music for
- 45:24Speaker 6: Welcome to the Jungle. The only thing more ridiculous is
- 45:28Speaker 6: that he's also working with Malcolm Spellman on a Soul
- 45:32Speaker 6: Train movie.
- 45:34Speaker 3: That might be cool. From what I've.
- 45:36Speaker 7: Heard, Axel's prone to fits of violence.
- 45:39Speaker 6: He's going to go off on Jamie Foxx.
- 45:42Speaker 5: I'm waiting for it.
- 45:43Speaker 7: I want to see Axel just go wailing on him
- 45:47Speaker 7: because he's not right in the head.
- 45:49Speaker 3: We've all seen him do that before.
- 45:50Speaker 5: That's what I'm saying.
- 45:51Speaker 7: I'm like, dude, this is your good opportunity, and I'm
- 45:53Speaker 7: sure nobody would hold it against you on this one.
- 45:55Speaker 4: This is all premeditated.
- 45:58Speaker 3: Not many people can say they beat the hell of
- 46:00Speaker 3: an Oscar winner. Go for it, man. What the hell?
- 46:02Speaker 5: I'm telling you. He's got to stay relevant somehow.
- 46:05Speaker 3: He'll be busy working on his next album for the
- 46:07Speaker 3: next 20 years. It's coming out though. It is coming out.
- 46:10Speaker 3: It's coming out. Don't you worry.
- 46:12Speaker 4: God help us.
- 46:14Speaker 9: Oh, I forgot to mention something that you probably know
- 46:16Speaker 9: about too.
- 46:17Speaker 4: They canceled your favorite show.
- 46:20Speaker 9: Oh, Lawman?
- 46:20Speaker 4: Steven Seagal, Lawman.
- 46:22Speaker 3: Oh, that's because he has a lawsuit now because he
- 46:26Speaker 3: hired some girls to be sex slaves. They're all coming
- 46:29Speaker 3: out of the closet.
- 46:30Speaker 9: Yeah, hired these Russian assistants and then His other assistant
- 46:34Speaker 9: is filing sexual harassment charges.
- 46:37Speaker 5: And he made Jenny McCarthy cry.
- 46:39Speaker 3: He apparently had this bevy of women that he would
- 46:42Speaker 3: bring them in and hire them as personal assistants. And
- 46:46Speaker 3: they had to sign all these confidentiality waivers and then
- 46:49Speaker 3: they walked into the room with all the whips and
- 46:51Speaker 3: chains and gimp suits and everything.
- 46:54Speaker 5: They had to be at his.
- 46:55Speaker 3: Beck and call 24-7. They were basically there to satisfy
- 46:57Speaker 3: his sexual urges.
- 46:58Speaker 6: And get him cheeseburgers.
- 47:00Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 47:01Speaker 5: Did he eat cheeseburgers off their naked bodies?
- 47:04Speaker 3: One girl that he hired decided to come out and
- 47:06Speaker 3: say all this. Now there's going to be a big
- 47:08Speaker 3: lawsuit because, you know, she signed a confidentiality agreement. We're
- 47:11Speaker 3: not supposed to talk about that. But, you know, we
- 47:13Speaker 3: all know that Seagal, in his real life, is there
- 47:16Speaker 3: to protect the people of Jefferson Parish.
- 47:18Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 47:19Speaker 4: No matter how many hookers I've got to bang.
- 47:21Speaker 5: He's there to eat all their cheeseburgers.
- 47:23Speaker 4: Our Russian brides. Do me a favor and dress up
- 47:26Speaker 4: like a cheeseburger.
- 47:26Speaker 9: Would you rub this bacon grease on you?
- 47:30Speaker 3: Wow. No, I didn't know it had been canceled.
- 47:34Speaker 5: I think it's on hold indefinitely.
- 47:36Speaker 3: How can you go on portraying a police officer when
- 47:39Speaker 3: you've got this shit going on?
- 47:42Speaker 7: Seriously.
- 47:42Speaker 5: I think the Jefferson Parish, they took his badge from him.
- 47:45Speaker 3: After 20 years?
- 47:47Speaker 7: That's what I heard. I heard they recalled his badge.
- 47:50Speaker 7: Maybe I'm just making that shit up.
- 47:51Speaker 5: I knew that.
- 47:52Speaker 3: Well, the one thing I am looking forward to is,
- 47:54Speaker 3: I don't know what party he's playing, but he's in Machete.
- 47:57Speaker 3: which is going to have a trailer here pretty soon.
- 47:59Speaker 3: It's got a release date. It's coming out on Labor Day,
- 48:01Speaker 3: I think.
- 48:02Speaker 4: Oh, Danny Trejo kicks his ass.
- 48:03Speaker 3: I want to see Danny Trejo kick Steven Seagal's ass.
- 48:06Speaker 3: Please do. And you know that if he hired him,
- 48:08Speaker 3: he has to have done that. So that should be fun.
- 48:12Speaker 3: Only breaking news. On the way over here on the radio,
- 48:15Speaker 3: they said they're casting the biopic for Kurt Cobain.
- 48:20Speaker 6: And they've announced that.
- 48:22Speaker 3: They're... Too soon. They're leaning... Yeah, it is.
- 48:24Speaker 6: It's not going to be Zac Efron. Nobody's going to
- 48:26Speaker 6: go into that.
- 48:27Speaker 3: Oh, I hope so.
- 48:28Speaker 6: I kind of wish it would because that would be
- 48:29Speaker 6: such a train wreck. No, this is just going to
- 48:31Speaker 6: be bad because they said they're leaning towards Robert Pattinson.
- 48:34Speaker 4: Oh, fuck.
- 48:35Speaker 3: What the hell? As soon as you said that, his
- 48:37Speaker 3: face flashed to me.
- 48:38Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 48:39Speaker 3: Who?
- 48:39Speaker 5: The glittered, sparkly vampire.
- 48:41Speaker 3: You just watched this bastard.
- 48:43Speaker 4: He's going to play Kurt Cobain?
- 48:44Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 48:45Speaker 4: He doesn't look like Kurt Cobain.
- 48:46Speaker 6: Is Kurt Cobain in that sparkle?
- 48:48Speaker 3: He's British.
- 48:49Speaker 6: No, I say it's the worst casting, but wait, there is.
- 48:53Speaker 3: The worst?
- 48:54Speaker 6: The worst casting would be his co-star in this movie.
- 48:56Speaker 5: It's not going to be Downey Faces.
- 48:57Speaker 3: No, no.
- 48:59Speaker 6: Even worse. This is like.
- 49:00Speaker 5: It's not going to be Jamie Foxx.
- 49:01Speaker 3: Because she... I hope so.
- 49:03Speaker 6: That in itself will be really funny, actually. Compared to this,
- 49:06Speaker 6: because this just pisses me off because Courtney Love is.
- 49:09Speaker 3: Overseeing all this bullshit.
- 49:11Speaker 5: Is she going to play herself?
- 49:12Speaker 7: No, no.
- 49:13Speaker 6: But, I mean, this is like fucking dream casting on
- 49:15Speaker 6: her part. She's uh getting scarlett johansson yeah that's what are.
- 49:19Speaker 3: You out of your fucking mind it's like i cast
- 49:22Speaker 3: this movie before you even said it can we get
- 49:24Speaker 3: matthew lillard to play dave growl wouldn't that be.
- 49:27Speaker 6: Awesome girls actually signed on he's got a he's got
- 49:30Speaker 6: a hand in this i'm surprised because he's so pissed
- 49:32Speaker 6: at her though that i'm surprised he wants anything to
- 49:34Speaker 6: do with it but Make sure she doesn't fuck him
- 49:36Speaker 6: up too much.
- 49:37Speaker 4: Scarlett Johansson's going to have to look really coked up.
- 49:39Speaker 4: I know.
- 49:40Speaker 3: They're going to have to beat the hell out of
- 49:41Speaker 3: her first.
- 49:43Speaker 9: They're going to have to bruise her up. Courtney Love,
- 49:47Speaker 9: that didn't look anything even close to Scarlett Johansson.
- 49:51Speaker 6: Not even when she was young.
- 49:52Speaker 3: She was still scary. So yeah, they're just going to
- 49:55Speaker 3: have to beat the hell out of her. That's Oscar
- 49:57Speaker 3: type stuff. Her monster performance.
- 49:59Speaker 9: Still, even though Robert Patrickson is Kirk whatever the.
- 50:02Speaker 4: Fuck his name is.
- 50:03Speaker 3: I know, I like saying it wrong to piss off
- 50:04Speaker 3: Twilight Girls.
- 50:04Speaker 4: Yeah, whatever. Dumbass. Alright, big chin. It doesn't look like
- 50:09Speaker 4: Kurt Cobain at all.
- 50:11Speaker 5: It's like you ran into a wall repeatedly.
- 50:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 50:15Speaker 9: You can't play Kurt Cobain pick somebody else come on
- 50:18Speaker 9: be realistic about it that's what I'm saying that's just.
- 50:20Speaker 5: Well who would you cast as Kurt Cobain who would.
- 50:23Speaker 12: I cast as Kurt Cobain I don't know but you
- 50:25Speaker 12: know the guy from Lost the little short guy with
- 50:28Speaker 12: the beard kind of looking thing he looks closer to
- 50:30Speaker 12: Kurt Cobain than he does you.
- 50:33Speaker 3: Know oh and still a better actor than that still a.
- 50:36Speaker 4: Better actor yeah you know.
- 50:38Speaker 3: Kurt Cobain I think somebody like gosh what's the guy's
- 50:42Speaker 3: name that's in Sons of Anarchy Oh, gosh.
- 50:46Speaker 5: Yeah, that one guy.
- 50:47Speaker 3: Yeah, the guy that plays the son in that show.
- 50:50Speaker 3: I'm going with Ron Perlman.
- 50:51Speaker 4: Yeah, Ron Perlman.
- 50:53Speaker 3: Yeah, that's who I was thinking of.
- 50:55Speaker 4: Yeah, Katie Seagal. Katie Seagal playing... I'd.
- 50:58Speaker 6: Still rather see that. Katie Seagal's a good actress.
- 51:01Speaker 5: Either way, it's going to be a train wreck.
- 51:03Speaker 4: Yeah, trouble.
- 51:05Speaker 3: I love those rock bio movies, but that one doesn't
- 51:07Speaker 3: sound good to me. It sounds terrible.
- 51:08Speaker 5: Oh, I hate bio movies usually.
- 51:11Speaker 3: Oh, no.
- 51:12Speaker 9: If you're going to have something that's going to be
- 51:14Speaker 9: as huge as that movie, and you've got to understand,
- 51:16Speaker 9: I mean, most people do, that Nirvana was such a
- 51:19Speaker 9: huge influence on a lot of kids. To take that
- 51:22Speaker 9: and to half-ass cast it and just kind of throw
- 51:25Speaker 9: it out there for money.
- 51:26Speaker 3: It doesn't matter who you cast. Those kind of movies
- 51:28Speaker 3: are really hard to make. Like the Doors movie, for example.
- 51:32Speaker 3: Which I actually think is pretty good.
- 51:34Speaker 4: Yeah, I thought it was pretty decent.
- 51:35Speaker 3: He got close.
- 51:36Speaker 6: I mean, that's as close as you can get to tomorrow.
- 51:38Speaker 3: Especially Doors fans hate that movie. And they're really tough
- 51:43Speaker 3: to do. I mean, how do you portray these characters
- 51:46Speaker 3: without over-heroizing them? You've got to make them larger than
- 51:51Speaker 3: life because, frankly, most of the time their lives are
- 51:54Speaker 3: not that exciting.
- 51:55Speaker 7: Right.
- 51:56Speaker 3: Well, we've had good examples lately.
- 51:57Speaker 6: I mean, Joaquin did a hell of a job, and
- 52:00Speaker 6: he's a crazy motherfucker, but he's.
- 52:01Speaker 3: A good actor. You're talking about his rap movie?
- 52:03Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, his rap movie. And even Jamie Foxx. I mean,
- 52:06Speaker 6: as much as we want to make fun of him,
- 52:07Speaker 6: because he is a dork, he's good in that movie.
- 52:10Speaker 6: I mean, he turned in a good performance. He is
- 52:12Speaker 6: a good actor.
- 52:13Speaker 3: So, I mean, you can.
- 52:14Speaker 6: Come up with good casting.
- 52:15Speaker 3: This is not it. Keep looking. They said it wasn't
- 52:18Speaker 3: official yet, so I'm hoping they come to their senses.
- 52:21Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 52:22Speaker 4: Keep it unofficial.
- 52:23Speaker 6: Get that Gordon Levitt kid. He's going to be in
- 52:25Speaker 6: everything for the next couple of years.
- 52:26Speaker 4: Get somebody.
- 52:27Speaker 3: At least he's a serious actor.
- 52:28Speaker 5: Anybody other than Pattinson and his damn wall face.
- 52:33Speaker 9: He kind of reminds me of the moon man in
- 52:35Speaker 9: the McDonald's Mac tonight commercial.
- 52:38Speaker 6: When's his biopic coming out?
- 52:41Speaker 3: I figured it out. I know who should play Kurt Cobain.
- 52:43Speaker 10: Oh, God.
- 52:44Speaker 3: Garth Brooks.
- 52:45Speaker 10: Garth Brooks.
- 52:46Speaker 4: Mark Brooks. He's too old.
- 52:48Speaker 3: Oh, no, he's not. He does the Chris whatever with the.
- 52:50Speaker 4: Hair and stuff. Oh, the Chris.
- 52:52Speaker 3: Chris Gaines. Chris Gaines.
- 52:53Speaker 6: There you go.
- 52:54Speaker 5: Mark Brooks.
- 52:55Speaker 4: Chris Isaacs.
- 52:56Speaker 3: Yikes. I have no part of this.
- 52:59Speaker 1: Wowzers.
- 53:00Speaker 3: All right. So, yeah. I guess we should take a break.
- 53:06Speaker 3: All right.
- 53:06Speaker 6: So, we will invite you back to come back with
- 53:08Speaker 6: part two this week as we head out on the
- 53:10Speaker 6: town and see Kick-Ass.
- 53:12Speaker 4: Seth Green.
- 53:15Speaker 3: He's short. He is short.
- 53:17Speaker 4: Put some long hair on him and a little bit
- 53:19Speaker 4: of a face.
- 53:20Speaker 3: I think given time, he'll be a real actor.
- 53:23Speaker 6: This is his chance.
- 53:24Speaker 3: Oscar role right here. I still want to see Elijah
- 53:28Speaker 3: Wood play Iggy Pop. I'm still stoked about that. Is
- 53:32Speaker 3: that happening?
- 53:33Speaker 4: It was in the works. I don't know.
- 53:34Speaker 3: I haven't heard anything recently.
- 53:36Speaker 4: You mean Johnny Depp didn't snatch up on that one?
- 53:38Speaker 4: Why didn't he?
- 53:40Speaker 3: Johnny gets everything else. Yeah, I see that.
- 53:42Speaker 4: He's working on the Anthony Kida story.
- 53:45Speaker 3: God, I don't want to see that.
- 53:47Speaker 5: Is Tim Burton.
- 53:49Speaker 3: Going to do that?
- 53:50Speaker 4: Yeah, Tim Burton's going to do that.
- 53:51Speaker 3: I don't want to see that.
- 53:52Speaker 6: Tim Burton's the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
- 53:53Speaker 3: I just see Johnny with his shirt off going, give
- 53:55Speaker 3: it away, give it away, give it away, give it
- 53:57Speaker 3: away now.
- 53:58Speaker 5: Or his junk in a sock.
- 53:59Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah.
- 54:01Speaker 5: Chicks would line up to see that.
- 54:03Speaker 3: He does that anyway. He's in France. He just walks
- 54:05Speaker 3: around like that all day.
- 54:07Speaker 4: And eats cheese.
- 54:08Speaker 3: And eats cheese and drinks wine. It's France. That's what
