- 0:00Speaker 1: San Francisco third-round pick from Indiana University national champion Kalon Black.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Appreciate you joining me, brother.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Hey, man. Appreciate you for having me on, man.
- 0:11Speaker 3: Bless.
- 0:12Speaker 1: Yeah, man. Ever since you got here, I haven't seen you.
- 0:18Speaker 1: I haven't got to go to practice and watch it.
- 0:20Speaker 1: But everybody has talked about how much of a pro
- 0:22Speaker 1: you are, how mature you are, how the game is
- 0:26Speaker 1: coming easy to you, how explosive you are. How has
- 0:28Speaker 1: your first... I guess, a couple of months in San
- 0:31Speaker 1: Francisco been? Well, I guess Santa Clara.
- 0:33Speaker 3: Yeah, it's been great, man.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Definitely eye-opening. Just, you know, blessed to be out here.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Blessed for the opportunity. And, you know, I'm ready to just,
- 0:40Speaker 2: you know, prove myself to the whole world.
- 0:43Speaker 4: Like I said, man, I'm just grateful for, you know,
- 0:45Speaker 4: the Niners picking me. I know I was, you know,
- 0:49Speaker 4: it wasn't as highly, you know, anticipated to go high
- 0:52Speaker 4: in the draft or anything like that.
- 0:53Speaker 2: But, you know, like I said, I'm just blessed, man,
- 0:55Speaker 2: and I'm ready to roll.
- 0:56Speaker 1: I mean, speaking of that, you came from James Madison,
- 1:00Speaker 1: you know, and you obviously weren't the most heralded guy,
- 1:03Speaker 1: but then you get to Indiana and you guys roar
- 1:06Speaker 1: your way to a national championship. And a lot of it,
- 1:08Speaker 1: they wrote, you were the bell cow, you know what
- 1:11Speaker 1: I mean? And you got it done at a high level.
- 1:13Speaker 1: How much did that season mean to you?
- 1:15Speaker 3: It meant a lot.
- 1:16Speaker 4: I just feel like, you know, that team right there
- 1:18Speaker 4: was just, you know, the closest team that I've been on.
- 1:20Speaker 4: You know, you have guys like, you know, Fernando Mendoza
- 1:23Speaker 4: and D'Angelo Pons, Aiden Fisher, like all NFL guys now,
- 1:26Speaker 4: I feel like, you know, the camaraderie, you know, the leadership,
- 1:29Speaker 4: you know, in the building was just great. And I
- 1:31Speaker 4: feel like, you know, it's led to our success, you know,
- 1:35Speaker 4: even getting into the pros.
- 1:37Speaker 3: No question. It looked like you guys were well coached.
- 1:40Speaker 1: You guys were taught to be professional and everything you
- 1:43Speaker 1: guys were taught has translated to the pros. Do you
- 1:47Speaker 1: have a bit of a chip on your shoulder being
- 1:49Speaker 1: the third running back pick in a draft or were
- 1:51Speaker 1: you happy with where you picked and where you landed?
- 1:54Speaker 2: Man, honestly, I've always had a chip on my shoulder.
- 1:56Speaker 4: I was going to have it, you know, regardless if
- 1:58Speaker 4: I was undrafted, you know, seventh round or anything like that. Honestly,
- 2:02Speaker 4: I just feel like, you know, my play style, I
- 2:04Speaker 4: just want to be ferocious. You know, I want to,
- 2:06Speaker 4: you know, run hard, be explosive. And, you know, that
- 2:10Speaker 4: chip is just going to be there regardless.
- 2:12Speaker 2: I love the game.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:14Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:14Speaker 3: So do I. So do I.
- 2:15Speaker 1: It looked like you love the game. But walk me
- 2:17Speaker 1: through draft day. Walk me through draft day. How did
- 2:19Speaker 1: it happen? How excited were you when you got that
- 2:22Speaker 1: call and you realized you were headed to the San
- 2:24Speaker 1: Francisco 49ers?
- 2:25Speaker 2: Yeah, man. Day two.
- 2:27Speaker 4: Honestly, I didn't know at all. You know, I had
- 2:30Speaker 4: been on, you know, had some talks with, you know,
- 2:33Speaker 4: Bobby T or whatever. And I honestly just wasn't sure.
- 2:36Speaker 4: I wasn't sure at all that day. But, you know,
- 2:40Speaker 4: I had this feeling in the back of my mind of, hey,
- 2:42Speaker 4: something may happen. Something may happen, you know, later that day.
- 2:46Speaker 4: I got a call from, you know, a California number
- 2:48Speaker 4: and my heart dropped. I was outside talking with some
- 2:51Speaker 4: of my guys and next to, you know, my phone
- 2:54Speaker 4: started buzzing in my pocket, picked it up and it was,
- 2:57Speaker 4: you know, it was the Niners. And I'm just like, yo,
- 2:59Speaker 4: there's no way this has happened. And, you know, this is,
- 3:02Speaker 4: this is something that I've been dreaming of since I
- 3:04Speaker 4: was four years old. Like I've been playing football since
- 3:06Speaker 4: I was four. So, you know, to finally get the opportunity,
- 3:09Speaker 4: you know, go through it all, get drafted. You know,
- 3:11Speaker 4: I have books at home where, you know, I have
- 3:13Speaker 4: these scenarios written out and things of that nature.
- 3:16Speaker 2: So, you know, it's been a blessing, man.
- 3:18Speaker 4: And, And like I said, like, you know, I've been
- 3:22Speaker 4: dreaming of it for so long and for it to
- 3:23Speaker 4: finally happen, it's just like, it's so amazing that day.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Man, I'm so excited for you. That was such a
- 3:29Speaker 1: big deal and it's such a great place to get
- 3:31Speaker 1: drafted to. It's such a great organization, great coaching staff.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Please tell my guy, Bobby T, I said hello when you,
- 3:37Speaker 1: when you see him.
- 3:39Speaker 3: That's my guy. That's my guy.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Well, all those are my guys, but, How has the
- 3:43Speaker 1: organization been so far? How has it been learning from CMC,
- 3:46Speaker 1: one of the best running backs in the National Football League,
- 3:48Speaker 1: and one of the best all-around backs in the history
- 3:50Speaker 1: of the National Football League?
- 3:51Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely, man. It's been great, you know, learning from
- 3:54Speaker 2: guys like CMC.
- 3:55Speaker 4: Like, he's never, you know, shied away from trying to
- 3:57Speaker 4: give game, you know, on certain scenarios, you know, certain plays. Like,
- 4:01Speaker 4: you know the system. You were here, so it's, you know,
- 4:04Speaker 4: it's a lot going on. So, he's definitely been one
- 4:06Speaker 4: of the guys that helped me out, along with all
- 4:08Speaker 4: the other running backs as well. So, You know, it's,
- 4:11Speaker 4: you know, one of those things where you come in
- 4:13Speaker 4: as a rookie, you try your best to, you know,
- 4:16Speaker 4: find someone that's going to help you out the most.
- 4:18Speaker 2: And CMC has always been that guy for me.
- 4:21Speaker 3: And how is it playing with Brock Purdy?
- 4:23Speaker 1: I mean, obviously the most underrated quarterback in the National
- 4:25Speaker 1: Football League, an absolute dog, an absolute talent. He's one
- 4:30Speaker 1: of those guys that you really can't appreciate how good
- 4:33Speaker 1: he is until you're in the huddle with him, until
- 4:35Speaker 1: he's your teammate, until you see him go out there
- 4:37Speaker 1: and deal with How has it been watching him perform
- 4:41Speaker 1: at quarterback?
- 4:41Speaker 4: Man, he's so smart. Like, when he's out there on
- 4:44Speaker 4: that field, he's going to know the ins and outs
- 4:46Speaker 4: of everything. And he doesn't like mistakes at all. But
- 4:49Speaker 4: he's also one of those guys who is just so
- 4:51Speaker 4: detailed and.
- 4:52Speaker 2: You know, so focused. And I love being out there
- 4:54Speaker 2: with him.
- 4:55Speaker 4: You know, it's just like, you know, that comfortability really
- 4:57Speaker 4: with him and all the other quarterbacks as well. Like,
- 5:00Speaker 4: you can tell they're, you know, they're coached well. You know,
- 5:02Speaker 4: Coach Shanahan expects nothing less.
- 5:05Speaker 3: Quick shout out to Whatnot.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Man, I found a pair of Kobe Grinches in my size, Mitchell.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Mint condition, original box. I've been looking for a pair
- 5:16Speaker 1: of these for years.
- 5:18Speaker 5: And you haven't stopped talking about them. You've been talking
- 5:21Speaker 5: about them before they even arrived.
- 5:23Speaker 3: Because they take me back to my childhood era, man. R.I.P.
- 5:27Speaker 3: the Bean Mitchell.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Any chance I get to just remember the bean and
- 5:32Speaker 1: have something that he wore, it means something to me, Mitchell.
- 5:36Speaker 1: It means something to me. I use Whatnot to find
- 5:39Speaker 1: sneakers and sports memorabilia to actually fit in my collection.
- 5:44Speaker 5: Speaking of sports memorabilia, I went the sports memorabilia route.
- 5:48Speaker 5: I found a signed Barry Sanders jersey. Richard, it brought
- 5:52Speaker 5: me back to my youth. I found it on Whatnot.
- 5:55Speaker 5: Seeing the actual item live made it super easy. The
- 5:58Speaker 5: seller showed the autograph, the condition, and every detail on
- 6:02Speaker 5: camera before I bought it.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Mitch, that's what makes Whatnot different. Whatnot is the largest
- 6:07Speaker 1: live shopping marketplace in the United States. You can shop
- 6:11Speaker 1: live with sellers who know the hobby, ask questions in
- 6:15Speaker 1: real time, and find sneakers, memorabilia, cards, video games, toys, comics,
- 6:21Speaker 1: and more.
- 6:22Speaker 5: I use Whatnot, and I've told my friends to check
- 6:24Speaker 5: it out too, especially if there's something special you've been
- 6:27Speaker 5: trying to find.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Get $ 20 off your first purchase right now. Just search Whatnot.
- 6:32Speaker 1: That's W-H-A-T-N-O-T in the App Store. Download, sign up, and
- 6:37Speaker 1: start finding things you've been searching for.
- 6:39Speaker 3: Terms apply.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Which were there any, you know, obviously you're a pro
- 6:44Speaker 1: now and, you know, but it's human nature to somehow
- 6:47Speaker 1: you're a fan of this game. You watch this game
- 6:49Speaker 1: your whole life. You've been watching the NFL your whole life.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Were there any of your teammates where you're like, man,
- 6:54Speaker 1: this dude, we really out here together. Um, obviously, you know,
- 6:58Speaker 1: Trent Williams, the silverback been in the game a long
- 7:00Speaker 1: time and played at a real high level. Was there
- 7:02Speaker 1: anybody that kind of just surprised you or kind of
- 7:05Speaker 1: had you at all in all?
- 7:06Speaker 2: Honestly, man.
- 7:08Speaker 4: Um, CMC first meeting him. Cause he was always one
- 7:10Speaker 4: of those guys that I always watch, you know, his
- 7:12Speaker 4: Stanford highlights and even, you know, Carolina to now the Niners.
- 7:16Speaker 4: But then Trent Williams, like you said, like I didn't
- 7:19Speaker 4: realize he was that big. And also growing up, like
- 7:23Speaker 4: I was a Washington fan. So, you know, he was
- 7:25Speaker 4: on Washington and like, you know, I was like, you know, third,
- 7:28Speaker 4: fourth grade. Now, like I'm in my first year in
- 7:31Speaker 4: the league and we on the same team. So it
- 7:33Speaker 4: was just like, it was real eyeopening to me.
- 7:35Speaker 3: But he's a, he's a great teammate though, man.
- 7:37Speaker 1: He's a, He's big, aggressive, strong, you know, but a
- 7:43Speaker 1: guy that will get you the shirt off his back,
- 7:45Speaker 1: obviously a great teammate. Fred Warner, I'm sure, might have
- 7:49Speaker 1: surprised you. Fred Warner is such a smart and aggressive
- 7:52Speaker 1: and physical player. I'm sure your forearms are sore from
- 7:56Speaker 1: all the punching and all that from him.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Yeah, he different.
- 8:00Speaker 4: Like I told him, I'm pretty sure yesterday, I'm like, yo,
- 8:05Speaker 4: I like it's different seeing you out there, you know, practicing,
- 8:08Speaker 4: but then in the game, it's like a whole different mode.
- 8:10Speaker 4: Like you, you watch the plays where he's just diving
- 8:13Speaker 4: in the air, making tackles, like with no, like no
- 8:16Speaker 4: stability in his feet.
- 8:18Speaker 2: And he's just out there doing anything. And it's just like,
- 8:21Speaker 2: it's fun to see. Yeah.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Yeah. You got, it's crazy because you practice with these guys,
- 8:26Speaker 1: but when you see him perform, you don't realize because
- 8:28Speaker 1: you're not going against other competition, but these are some
- 8:30Speaker 1: of the best in the league period. These are some
- 8:32Speaker 1: of the, Fred's the best linebacker in the league, period.
- 8:35Speaker 1: It's not like you're just going against some Joe. Nick,
- 8:39Speaker 1: one of the best D linemen in the league, just
- 8:41Speaker 1: won defensive MVP player of the year a couple years ago. Like,
- 8:45Speaker 1: these are real monsters at their position, so it's really
- 8:48Speaker 1: cool to watch. But how crazy was it for your
- 8:50Speaker 1: first career NFL game to be in Australia? I mean,
- 8:53Speaker 1: it's the first game they've ever had in Australia, to
- 8:54Speaker 1: my knowledge, and it's your first career game.
- 8:57Speaker 4: Man, it was honestly crazy to take all in. Like,
- 9:01Speaker 4: The first one to be in Australia, for one, but
- 9:04Speaker 4: for two to, like, for it to be the first
- 9:06Speaker 4: one was just, like, so, like I said, so eye-opening. Like,
- 9:12Speaker 4: you're like, I'm just blessed for the opportunity to really
- 9:15Speaker 4: just be here, you know, be on the active roster,
- 9:17Speaker 4: you know, be behind a guy like CMC and we
- 9:20Speaker 4: can do this thing together. Like, and then you're playing
- 9:23Speaker 4: in a huge crowd, 100-plus thousand.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Like, it was.
- 9:27Speaker 4: Yeah, I'd be at a loss for words, honestly. But
- 9:30Speaker 4: it was just a great feeling to finally be able
- 9:32Speaker 4: to accomplish my dream.
- 9:34Speaker 3: No question.
- 9:35Speaker 1: And you looked comfortable doing it. You looked comfortable. You
- 9:37Speaker 1: looked aggressive. I mean, you still had that pep in yourself.
- 9:40Speaker 1: You got a great burst, a great acceleration. Was there
- 9:43Speaker 1: any welcome to the league moments during training camp or
- 9:46Speaker 1: in that first game that you could think of?
- 9:49Speaker 2: Honestly, man, that's a great question.
- 9:53Speaker 4: I mean, mine might not be physical. But I would
- 9:58Speaker 4: say like for the mental aspect, like coming into this
- 10:00Speaker 4: system and realizing how different it is than college, like
- 10:04Speaker 4: this is the welcome to the league moment for me. Like,
- 10:06Speaker 4: you know, not only do you have to know your
- 10:08Speaker 4: running back stuff, but you got to know, you know,
- 10:10Speaker 4: your receiver stuff as well. You want to know what
- 10:12Speaker 4: everyone else around you is doing more so than you
- 10:14Speaker 4: did in college. So I feel like, you know, coming
- 10:16Speaker 4: into this offense, You know, it's definitely opened my eyes,
- 10:19Speaker 4: but also, like, opened my brain as well. You know,
- 10:22Speaker 4: just making me feel, like, you know, smarter. But also, hey,
- 10:25Speaker 4: you know, this is a new coming week. So, there's
- 10:28Speaker 4: a whole new set of plays, a whole new install. So, hey,
- 10:31Speaker 4: you got to be ready.
- 10:33Speaker 1: And Kyle is going to challenge you. Kyle is going
- 10:35Speaker 1: to challenge you. He's going to explain the game in
- 10:37Speaker 1: a way. I love this Monday meetings because it feels
- 10:39Speaker 1: like you in class learning football all over again. You're like, oh,
- 10:42Speaker 1: I didn't even know. Think that about the game, but
- 10:45Speaker 1: that's a good point, Coach. You said, so the linebacker
- 10:47Speaker 1: went here. That's why you... Okay. All right.
- 10:50Speaker 3: I see what you got going here, Kyle. Exactly. How
- 10:52Speaker 3: have you... What's your impression of Kyle Shanahan so far?
- 10:55Speaker 4: Man, I love Kyle. He's so detailed, and he explains
- 10:59Speaker 4: everything so well. He goes defensive-wise and offensive-wise, but the
- 11:05Speaker 4: way he explains defense is almost like he's a defensive coordinator.
- 11:08Speaker 4: You wouldn't even expect him to really sound like the
- 11:11Speaker 4: way he does when he explains it, but It's just like, hey,
- 11:15Speaker 4: that's my coach.
- 11:17Speaker 2: He liked that.
- 11:18Speaker 3: He liked that.
- 11:20Speaker 1: When you see it from afar, you can't really appreciate
- 11:23Speaker 1: it as much as you can when you're in the
- 11:25Speaker 1: building and you really can hear his mind.
- 11:27Speaker 3: And you're like, bro, you're a savant wizard in this.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly. And it's one of those things where, hey,
- 11:33Speaker 2: I just hope people stop sleeping on him. I really do.
- 11:36Speaker 2: He's one of them guys.
- 11:37Speaker 4: And you can definitely tell he cares about the game
- 11:39Speaker 4: and he's been in the system for a long time.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Well, you can help him stop sleeping on him by
- 11:43Speaker 1: continuing to tote the rock like you have been. You
- 11:48Speaker 1: get to go against your teammate this year, November 4th.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Y'all play the Raiders and your quarterback. That's going to
- 11:54Speaker 1: be a fun game for you, I'm sure.
- 11:56Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely, man.
- 11:57Speaker 4: Like, Fernando is, you know, he's smart, man. Everybody sees
- 11:59Speaker 4: how he is as a player. You know, even outside
- 12:02Speaker 4: of football, man, he's a great guy, real humble. But,
- 12:05Speaker 4: you know, going against him, you know, that day, I mean,
- 12:08Speaker 4: we seen him in the preseason or whatever, but You know,
- 12:10Speaker 4: when it's real ball, when it comes in, you know,
- 12:13Speaker 4: we're going to be ready. We're going to be ready
- 12:14Speaker 4: to ball.
- 12:16Speaker 3: What have you seen for the Miami Dolphins this week?
- 12:19Speaker 4: Man, honestly, man, we know that, you know, they're a pretty,
- 12:22Speaker 4: you know, young team. But they have some guys that
- 12:25Speaker 4: can make plays. You know, linebacker Rodriguez, he's back there,
- 12:28Speaker 4: you know, calling the shots. And that's mainly, you know,
- 12:31Speaker 4: some of the things that we've seen so far. You know,
- 12:34Speaker 4: as we, you know, do more film study of them,
- 12:36Speaker 4: we also know that their special teams unit is good
- 12:38Speaker 4: as well. They had some great, you know, explosive returns. So,
- 12:42Speaker 4: you know, we're going to have our hands full. I
- 12:44Speaker 4: also wanted to make sure that we're, you know, locked
- 12:46Speaker 4: in in all phases, you know, being us and, you know,
- 12:49Speaker 4: staying focused.
- 12:50Speaker 2: And, you know, being locked in.
- 12:52Speaker 1: Before we get out of here, were there any, like, surprises,
- 12:55Speaker 1: things you didn't expect about the league that you've come
- 12:58Speaker 1: to learn, whether it's harder or easier or just different
- 13:02Speaker 1: than what you expected?
- 13:03Speaker 4: Honestly, man, like, I'm sure you felt this when you
- 13:06Speaker 4: came into the league.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Like, at the end of the day, it's just football.
- 13:09Speaker 2: You just go out there and you be you.
- 13:11Speaker 4: You play full speed, 100% effort on the field at
- 13:14Speaker 4: all times. It's not going to be anything that you
- 13:17Speaker 4: haven't done before. And I feel like you go out
- 13:20Speaker 4: there with that mentality that at the end of the day,
- 13:22Speaker 4: you're going to have some success. And there's always things
- 13:25Speaker 4: to learn to get better at. But you be you.
- 13:30Speaker 4: It's just that simple.
- 13:33Speaker 1: And I'm going to let you go. But before we
- 13:34Speaker 1: get out of here, you got any questions for me?
- 13:36Speaker 1: Anything you want to ask or anything you want to say?
- 13:39Speaker 1: before we get out of here?
- 13:40Speaker 2: Yeah, man.
- 13:41Speaker 4: How did you feel like you got better throughout, you know,
- 13:45Speaker 4: your earlier years in terms of, you know, your schedule,
- 13:49Speaker 4: things that you did to, you know, help yourself get better?
- 13:52Speaker 3: A lot of it is just kind of.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Learning to delegate your time and kind of prioritizing the
- 14:01Speaker 1: important things.
- 14:02Speaker 3: Obviously, it's your rookie year.
- 14:03Speaker 1: You're coming from like all-star games and combine training and everything,
- 14:08Speaker 1: then you get into OTAs, minicamp, it just feels like
- 14:10Speaker 1: you never got a break. And so you kind of
- 14:12Speaker 1: just got to weather through your rookie year, you know,
- 14:14Speaker 1: and just kind of figure it out. But once you
- 14:16Speaker 1: get done with your rookie year, you find a place
- 14:18Speaker 1: to stay, make sure you're stable there, whether you buy
- 14:21Speaker 1: a house or you rent a house, you start to
- 14:23Speaker 1: figure out your off-season schedule. Maybe you take a couple vacations,
- 14:27Speaker 1: a vacation or two. You find out where you're going
- 14:30Speaker 1: to train before you get to training, I mean, before
- 14:32Speaker 1: you get to OTAs and and things like that. But
- 14:34Speaker 1: a lot of it is just, it's self crit critiquing yourself,
- 14:38Speaker 1: watching yourself on tape, recognizing the mistakes you made and
- 14:42Speaker 1: just being really critical of yourself, especially early on about
- 14:46Speaker 1: your weaknesses, your strengths, you know what they are, you
- 14:49Speaker 1: know what, you know what you can lean on always,
- 14:51Speaker 1: but in the league, in order for you to thrive
- 14:53Speaker 1: and continue to grow, it's the weaknesses that you really
- 14:56Speaker 1: got to focus on the things in your game that
- 14:58Speaker 1: you know, you don't do well. It's okay to understand
- 15:01Speaker 1: and accept that. Now you ain't got to tell nobody else,
- 15:03Speaker 1: but you can work on those things. Like when you
- 15:05Speaker 1: get back to OTAs, it's hard to work on them
- 15:07Speaker 1: during the season. You can try, but when you get
- 15:10Speaker 1: to the off season and you understand the weaknesses that
- 15:12Speaker 1: you have, all OTAs and mini camp and training camp,
- 15:16Speaker 1: it should be working on those weaknesses so they ain't
- 15:18Speaker 1: weaknesses no more. And so the more you can do
- 15:22Speaker 1: that and the more you can minimize those weaknesses, the
- 15:25Speaker 1: more complete and elite of a player you become.
- 15:27Speaker 3: That makes sense.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Yeah, it does, man. That's love. I appreciate that for sure.
- 15:32Speaker 3: Yes, sir. Yes, sir. What about you? What's your goals
- 15:35Speaker 3: for this season?
- 15:36Speaker 2: Man, my goals, honestly, like, I want a Super Bowl.
- 15:40Speaker 4: You know, but we got to take that one week
- 15:42Speaker 4: at a time, you know, one day at a time,
- 15:44Speaker 4: one practice at a time. But honestly, that's my goal.
- 15:47Speaker 4: You know, I want to win. You know, I want
- 15:49Speaker 4: to contribute the best way that I can. And, you know, just,
- 15:52Speaker 4: you know, improve my love for the game of ball.
- 15:55Speaker 4: You know, just continue to be me. You know, pick
- 15:58Speaker 4: up some things along the way because, of course, I'm
- 16:00Speaker 4: not perfect. but you know, I just want to be
- 16:02Speaker 4: the best that I can be at all times.
- 16:05Speaker 1: That's a great goal. That's a great goal. Just keep,
- 16:07Speaker 1: keep pushing the limit, keep pushing the limit. Don't put a,
- 16:09Speaker 1: don't put a cap on yourself no matter what. Um,
- 16:12Speaker 1: you know, it seems like you're a great young man
- 16:14Speaker 1: and I, you, you, you landed in a great organization
- 16:17Speaker 1: with some great men and great leaders in there. You know, don't,
- 16:20Speaker 1: you never know too much and you're never, you're never
- 16:23Speaker 1: too good to learn and you're never too good to
- 16:25Speaker 1: pick up habits. You got, you're around a bunch of pros, pros,
- 16:28Speaker 1: you know, it's, it's, keep your eyes open, keep your
- 16:31Speaker 1: ears open. The things that they're saying, whether it's investing,
- 16:33Speaker 1: whether it's other, you know, life outside of football, like
- 16:37Speaker 1: learn from them because it's a reason they've been in
- 16:39Speaker 1: the league as long as they have. It's a reason
- 16:41Speaker 1: CMC has played as well as he has for as
- 16:42Speaker 1: long as he has and been as good as he has.
- 16:44Speaker 1: So when you, when you figure that out, I mean,
- 16:48Speaker 1: when you, when you talk to him about those things,
- 16:50Speaker 1: just continue to pick his brain, continue to like ask
- 16:53Speaker 1: the questions. Those guys want you to be great. They
- 16:55Speaker 1: know what it feels like to be a rookie. They
- 16:57Speaker 1: know what it's like to be the guy who, who
- 17:00Speaker 1: was overlooked or the guy who doesn't know his way yet.
- 17:04Speaker 1: So the guys that have played for a long time,
- 17:06Speaker 1: ask them the questions. That's, that's what my biggest advice
- 17:09Speaker 1: would be.
- 17:09Speaker 2: Definitely, man.
- 17:10Speaker 4: I would definitely be doing that, especially with a guy
- 17:12Speaker 4: like CMC and you got Fred Warner, Trent, got everybody
- 17:16Speaker 4: on this team to be able to learn from.
- 17:17Speaker 2: So I'll definitely be picking their brain.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Yeah, you should, you should. That's, that's going to be
- 17:22Speaker 1: big time and, and speak up for yourself. Well, rookies,
- 17:25Speaker 1: the rookies better seen, not, not heard. So just, you
- 17:27Speaker 1: know what I mean? And some of that, you.
- 17:30Speaker 3: Know what I mean? If they tell you to do
- 17:31Speaker 3: something that's rude, just do it.
- 17:32Speaker 2: It's easier.
- 17:33Speaker 1: There's no haze in the National Football League, but it's
- 17:35Speaker 1: easier to just do what they ask you to do.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I got you.
- 17:39Speaker 3: All love, brother.
- 17:40Speaker 1: I appreciate you joining me. I know it's your off day.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Thank you for taking the time to hang out.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Hey, man. Thank you for having me on, man. I
- 17:46Speaker 2: appreciate you.
- 17:47Speaker 3: Yes, sir. Appreciate you.
- 17:49Speaker 1: Bye-bye.
