- 0:26Speaker 3: experst to call you get the job done right the
- 0:28Speaker 3: first time.
- 0:29Speaker 4: I'm Carl Walthall.

- 0:33Speaker 2: In me Superior Every Repair.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Welcome back to this portion of our show has brought
- 0:39Speaker 1: to you by Superior Air Repair.
- 0:46Speaker 5: I don't know if you notice this, but.
- 0:47Speaker 1: The same play that beat Texas, A and M almost
- 0:53Speaker 1: beat Indiana last night, that jet sweep with Malachai Tony,
- 0:57Speaker 1: the exact same play, right same side. He got free,
- 1:03Speaker 1: He got free twice. He got free on that pass
- 1:07Speaker 1: they punted our Yeah, I think it was a was
- 1:10Speaker 1: it a punt, a kickoff? Whatever it was, He almost
- 1:13Speaker 1: got loose there. This guy is just electric. He is
- 1:18Speaker 1: so fun to watch. When you figured the year when
- 1:22Speaker 1: the season started with seventeen years old, he should have
- 1:24Speaker 1: been a senior in high school. He is a man
- 1:27Speaker 1: out there, and you know, I expected Indiana to hold
- 1:34Speaker 1: him down. Well they did hold him down, but he
- 1:38Speaker 1: did score and he did get loose on a pass.
- 1:43Speaker 1: And you know, I'm.
- 1:46Speaker 5: Not sure it's the Hoosier's fault.
- 1:48Speaker 1: That kid has done it all year Long's he's special.
- 1:52Speaker 5: He is special.
- 1:54Speaker 1: We're gonna hear coming up from Mario Christbaul postgame. The
- 2:04Speaker 1: Hoosiers finished sixteen and zero. I had this stat earlier.
- 2:10Speaker 1: I think it's worth repeating. They fumbled one time in
- 2:13Speaker 1: the first quarter their first game. Their last fifteen games
- 2:18Speaker 1: and three quarters, they did not lose a fumble, not one.
- 2:24Speaker 1: One thousand and forty seven offensive plays. I mean, you
- 2:31Speaker 1: can say what you want, but when you talk about
- 2:34Speaker 1: turnovers and penalties, in my mind, I mean, that's coaching.
- 2:41Speaker 5: That's just that's what it is.
- 2:44Speaker 6: They don't put up with it.
- 2:45Speaker 5: And I like this stat.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Final AP Top twenty five poll includes six teams from
- 2:51Speaker 1: the state of Texas. It's never happened before. In fact,
- 2:55Speaker 1: no states ever had more than three. Texas had six
- 3:00Speaker 1: teams in the Top twenty five. Tech was seven and
- 3:06Speaker 1: it was eight. Texas was twelve. Houston was twenty two,
- 3:13Speaker 1: North Texas was twenty four, and TCU was twenty five.
- 3:21Speaker 1: TCU won that Bowl game. I guess right. They were
- 3:24Speaker 1: just hot and cold all year long. They were very
- 3:29Speaker 1: hot and cold all year long. And a couple of
- 3:36Speaker 1: basketball notes. We've got SEC games tonight and Bill self
- 3:46Speaker 1: did not travel to Boulder for the Kansas game against Colorado.
- 3:52Speaker 1: He went to the hospital yesterday. Remember he had heart
- 3:55Speaker 1: issues about six months ago. I guess sometime within the
- 3:59Speaker 1: year before the season started. But that's I don't think
- 4:03Speaker 1: that's what this is. He released a statement saying he's
- 4:07Speaker 1: feeling much better. I think they went as a precaution yesterday,
- 4:14Speaker 1: perhaps because of the heart issues earlier. I don't know,
- 4:19Speaker 1: but he will not coach in Boulder against Colorado tonight.
- 4:32Speaker 5: A interesting the Indiana defensive back. I don't know how.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Fernando Navis Fernando Mendoza through six interceptions. When did that
- 4:41Speaker 1: happen because I don't remember any of them. That must
- 4:45Speaker 1: have been early too, when when he when they fumbled?
- 4:48Speaker 1: Uh Indiana defensive back Lewis Moore had the same number
- 4:52Speaker 1: of interceptions as Mendoza.
- 4:54Speaker 6: The quarterback, and I.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Tell you that that speaking of special, I said Malachai
- 5:01Speaker 1: Tony was special and he is. That quarterback is special,
- 5:05Speaker 1: and I mean special. He missed a few throws, but
- 5:11Speaker 1: he was under heavy pressure. But those back shoulder throws
- 5:15Speaker 1: to Becker when they needed it in the second half.
- 5:20Speaker 1: And that that run, I mean, that's that's Heisman stuff
- 5:26Speaker 1: right there.
- 5:27Speaker 5: I mean, that is that's Heisman stuff.
- 5:31Speaker 7: All right.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Post game last night, here's Miami football coach Mario Christbaul.
- 5:40Speaker 8: First and foremost thanking God for the opportunity to be
- 5:42Speaker 8: here today. And really I would like to recognize these
- 5:48Speaker 8: three young men and their teammates for the best thing
- 5:53Speaker 8: that's happened to Miami and the University of Miami in
- 5:56Speaker 8: over two decades.
- 5:58Speaker 7: And it's not the result we wanted.
- 6:00Speaker 8: Credit to Indiana, they're a great football team, but to
- 6:03Speaker 8: these guys right here, I couldn't be more proud to
- 6:06Speaker 8: be associated with them.
- 6:07Speaker 7: I love them.
- 6:08Speaker 8: They're absolutely incredible human beings, competitors, resilient, and I want
- 6:14Speaker 8: to thank them and the rest of their teammates. And
- 6:17Speaker 8: it's a tough one, tough one I have to eat,
- 6:20Speaker 8: but we will and that's it.
- 6:24Speaker 7: Thank you.
- 6:24Speaker 9: Let's resume questions We're going to go over to our
- 6:26Speaker 9: right hand side, middle of the third row.
- 6:29Speaker 10: Coach Chris Tabaal Christy freyd USA Today Sports Media Group.
- 6:32Speaker 10: Unfortunate ending for Carson today with the interception, But can
- 6:35Speaker 10: you describe what you saw out of him today and
- 6:37Speaker 10: just overall this season as a prospect and a player,
- 6:40Speaker 10: same we see from.
- 6:41Speaker 7: All our guys.
- 6:41Speaker 8: A lot of resiliency, just continued, really tremendous work ethic,
- 6:48Speaker 8: earned the respect of his teammates, teammates.
- 6:51Speaker 7: Working hard with him. I mean we went together, we
- 6:53Speaker 7: lose together.
- 6:54Speaker 8: Proud of him, like to have that last one back,
- 6:57Speaker 8: but again, a lot of the plays made throughout the
- 7:00Speaker 8: course of the year from the guys up here on
- 7:02Speaker 8: stage of the guys a locker room got us here
- 7:05Speaker 8: to this moment and gave us an opportunity all the
- 7:06Speaker 8: way to the end.
- 7:07Speaker 7: So proud of him.
- 7:09Speaker 9: We'll come back over here to the middle.
- 7:12Speaker 7: Left.
- 7:13Speaker 11: Brian London, Real Ones Kane's podcast Believe Network coach cryst
- 7:16Speaker 11: of Ball. Can you just reflect on the journey that
- 7:20Speaker 11: these three guys, especially, but everyone that's been with you
- 7:22Speaker 11: since you got here, that you've been on to get
- 7:25Speaker 11: from where you came in to now to this moment.
- 7:29Speaker 8: They had the guts, the faith, and the trust to
- 7:32Speaker 8: look at a place that was a complete mess and say,
- 7:34Speaker 8: I'm going.
- 7:35Speaker 7: To be the person. I'm going to be a man
- 7:36Speaker 7: of action, and.
- 7:38Speaker 8: I'm going to make things real and I'm going to
- 7:39Speaker 8: make the University of Miami a prominent program once again,
- 7:42Speaker 8: and we're going to win, and we're gonna win big,
- 7:44Speaker 8: and we're going to change the culture. And that's not easy.
- 7:47Speaker 8: A lot of people look at that, they shy away
- 7:48Speaker 8: from it. These guys are legitimate, like big time, big
- 7:51Speaker 8: time human beings, gonna be awesome fathers and husbands and
- 7:56Speaker 8: leaders of the community way beyond football. And I think
- 7:59Speaker 8: everybody is so allociated with the University of Miami. And really,
- 8:01Speaker 8: even if you're a college football fan, you got to
- 8:04Speaker 8: be fans of these guys because these guys, certainly they
- 8:07Speaker 8: represent the way it's supposed.
- 8:08Speaker 7: To be done.
- 8:09Speaker 12: Stay right over here, Mario, is a follow up to
- 8:12Speaker 12: what you were asked about, Carson. It looked like there
- 8:15Speaker 12: was some miscommunication on that last throw. Can you just
- 8:17Speaker 12: kind of take us through what happened there.
- 8:20Speaker 7: It's the right place to go with the ball.
- 8:21Speaker 8: It just got to be a little bit further and
- 8:23Speaker 8: a little bit farther outside, so we didn't connect on
- 8:26Speaker 8: it and turnover.
- 8:30Speaker 9: Once again. We'll stay over here on our left side
- 8:32Speaker 9: by the aisle.
- 8:35Speaker 13: Alex Peuterman, Palm Beach Post Coach. Just a couple of
- 8:38Speaker 13: days ago, you talked about the need to be a fighter,
- 8:41Speaker 13: to jump into the fight and taking those steps to
- 8:44Speaker 13: build that program. And in the past, you know, perhaps
- 8:48Speaker 13: sometimes those steps, maybe as painful as they are, have
- 8:52Speaker 13: not been taken appropriately. Is this a painful step in
- 8:55Speaker 13: that process and is just one more step that you
- 8:58Speaker 13: know that you have to take and get through in
- 9:01Speaker 13: order to get one more win in the next season.
- 9:05Speaker 8: I mean, I think any loss, of course, is always
- 9:07Speaker 8: going to be painful. But I'd like to reflect upon
- 9:09Speaker 8: the fact that these guys won thirteen games this year
- 9:12Speaker 8: and one a postseason playoff game, got to the playoffs
- 9:15Speaker 8: for the first time in Miami history, and then beats
- 9:19Speaker 8: four top ten teams, beat seven top twenty five teams,
- 9:22Speaker 8: won the Fiesta Bowl, won the Cotton Bowl, and you
- 9:26Speaker 8: know what, I'll take full blame for it. Where one
- 9:28Speaker 8: drive short of winning the national championship. So I don't
- 9:32Speaker 8: see anything a negative, but I do see pain in
- 9:36Speaker 8: moments like this, and we should if we're a competitor
- 9:39Speaker 8: that's worth anything. You feel it and you use it,
- 9:42Speaker 8: and you give those feelings a direction. I know the
- 9:43Speaker 8: guys coming back will and I know that the guys
- 9:46Speaker 8: moving on will also use that as fuel.
- 9:51Speaker 9: Far left hand side.
- 9:54Speaker 4: All right, Tim Reynolds, ap, you talking about the guys
- 9:56Speaker 4: who are coming back. Mark finds the end zone twice tonight,
- 9:59Speaker 4: Maley gets in there. I know there's time to get
- 10:02Speaker 4: ready for next season, but just how good do you
- 10:04Speaker 4: feel about the leadership going forward knowing that you've got
- 10:07Speaker 4: those two guys among the kids coming back?
- 10:08Speaker 8: I think they can't be understated what these guys have done.
- 10:12Speaker 8: I can't understate that the ability to take a team
- 10:15Speaker 8: on November first that was lower than low, and to
- 10:19Speaker 8: find a way that every single day hold people accountable,
- 10:22Speaker 8: demand the best of and bring energy and enthusiasm of
- 10:24Speaker 8: practice and get the results on a weekly basis. I
- 10:27Speaker 8: want to know for I think seven weeks straight. It
- 10:31Speaker 8: is a testament to what they are. It's a testament
- 10:34Speaker 8: to their choice and their determination and being true men
- 10:38Speaker 8: of action. And again, they're the best thing that's happened
- 10:41Speaker 8: to Miami, the University of Miami in our community in
- 10:44Speaker 8: twenty five years.
- 10:45Speaker 9: So we're going to move to our right hand side
- 10:49Speaker 9: on the aisle.
- 10:52Speaker 7: Yeah, got to Jeff arab John's peaksactly.
- 10:53Speaker 14: Now that you've gone against them, been on the field
- 10:55Speaker 14: with him, can you just help us get a little
- 10:57Speaker 14: insight into what makes the Indiana's defense.
- 10:59Speaker 5: Is as effective as they've been all year.
- 11:02Speaker 7: And we're tonight.
- 11:03Speaker 8: Good players, good scheme, they're mature, they're older, they spend
- 11:07Speaker 8: a lot of time around each other, so they understand
- 11:09Speaker 8: how to leverage the ball, communicate really well, and they
- 11:12Speaker 8: certainly had a really good first half against us.
- 11:15Speaker 7: A lot of credit to them.
- 11:16Speaker 8: Felt in the second half we're really strying to generate
- 11:18Speaker 8: a lot of yards and points and whatnot, and felt
- 11:21Speaker 8: at the end there we were also generating some good
- 11:22Speaker 8: chunk plays and then credit to them, they came up
- 11:26Speaker 8: with a big play right there when they counted at
- 11:28Speaker 8: the end. But they're very well coached, operation, very high
- 11:32Speaker 8: end players.
- 11:33Speaker 7: You know, I know that. You know, sometimes we lose
- 11:36Speaker 7: sight of the fact.
- 11:36Speaker 8: That guys developed, they've been developed well, both the James
- 11:39Speaker 8: Madison and here and again credit to them they won
- 11:42Speaker 8: the game.
- 11:44Speaker 12: Come back down here on our left hand side. Andrew Mario,
- 11:49Speaker 12: you mentioned players using what happened tonight is fuel knowing
- 11:53Speaker 12: how much you have put in, how much will you
- 11:56Speaker 12: use this as fuel as you move forward to try
- 11:59Speaker 12: and get a championship from Miami.
- 12:00Speaker 8: Well, I mean it's it's not about me.
- 12:04Speaker 7: I mean, it doesn't matter the day or the time.
- 12:06Speaker 8: I'm always going to be really really motivated because this
- 12:09Speaker 8: is not for me.
- 12:10Speaker 7: This is for the University of Miami.
- 12:11Speaker 8: So our driving determination has always been off the charts,
- 12:14Speaker 8: and it's it's fueled by them, like I want to
- 12:17Speaker 8: do well by.
- 12:17Speaker 7: Them, you know.
- 12:18Speaker 8: And the fact that they leave here without the national
- 12:20Speaker 8: title in hand like.
- 12:21Speaker 7: That that it's really hard to deal with that, you know.
- 12:27Speaker 8: And again, if you're worth a damn as a competitor,
- 12:31Speaker 8: you take all that stuff and you give it a direction.
- 12:33Speaker 8: And the direction is to always let these guys know,
- 12:36Speaker 8: wherever they are in life, always got their back, always
- 12:38Speaker 8: a phone call away, no matter what, Like my coach
- 12:41Speaker 8: have always been for me and the ones that follow them,
- 12:44Speaker 8: they got to they will understand what the standard is
- 12:47Speaker 8: and they'll be held to it. They'll be held by
- 12:50Speaker 8: to that standard by these guys wherever they are and
- 12:52Speaker 8: holding them. But they've also learned it now and now
- 12:55Speaker 8: it's got to be put into action. You don't just
- 12:57Speaker 8: automatically return to a game like this just because you're mad.
- 13:02Speaker 8: I think that's the biggest misconception in sports. Oh well,
- 13:04Speaker 8: they almost got there. They'll be back next year. That's
- 13:06Speaker 8: a bunch of ball. You've got to play all the
- 13:08Speaker 8: lessons learned. You've got to improve as from a roster standpoint,
- 13:12Speaker 8: a regiment standpoint, discipline everything and move forward. And these
- 13:17Speaker 8: guys have set the standard to help us get there.
- 13:19Speaker 1: That's Mario christ Ball after the loss last night, and
- 13:26Speaker 1: I've certainly given my share of criticism to his him
- 13:29Speaker 1: for game management. But man, his team played hard. They
- 13:36Speaker 1: played hard. They made.
- 13:39Speaker 5: Critical mistakes, which they've done all year.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Penalties jointed up a field goal, obviously, special teams, a
- 13:51Speaker 1: punt block for a touchdown. You know, in a game
- 13:55Speaker 1: like that, that's that's the difference. That's the difference. Really,
- 14:00Speaker 1: a couple of personal foul penalties that should have been
- 14:02Speaker 1: called it weren't. But man, they were good. We knew
- 14:09Speaker 1: the lines of scrimmage were good and they were. No
- 14:14Speaker 1: one has fought Indiana like that all season, frankly at
- 14:19Speaker 1: the line of scrimmage like those guys did. No one
- 14:22Speaker 1: has pressured Fernando Mendoza all year. I think Ruben Bain
- 14:28Speaker 1: made even more money last night, if that's possible. I
- 14:31Speaker 1: don't know if it's possible.
- 14:35Speaker 5: Terrific, terrific National Championship game.
- 14:39Speaker 1: While we're on the subject of football. By the way,
- 14:46Speaker 1: Scotland didn't will be in tomorrow. We will hear from
- 14:49Speaker 1: Bucky tomorrow. The Aggies hosting Mississippi State tomorrow night. Thursday,
- 14:55Speaker 1: we'll have our Clark Eisenhower Outdoor edition. Kirk Bowles, who
- 14:59Speaker 1: was at the National Championship Game last night, we'll join
- 15:03Speaker 1: us on the show on Friday. But right now we're
- 15:06Speaker 1: going to jump out to the players Fun Center zoom Line.
- 15:09Speaker 5: We're gonna visit.
- 15:11Speaker 1: With a guy that we've had on the show several times.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Best selling author Lords at the Fly Saban, which was
- 15:22Speaker 1: a terrific biography of Nick Saban, and his latest is
- 15:26Speaker 1: called Men of Troy Legendary Afternoons, Wild Knights in the
- 15:30Speaker 1: Enduring Legacy of Pete Carroll's USC Trojans.
- 15:34Speaker 5: He is Monty Burke Money. How are you.
- 15:39Speaker 15: I'm doing great, Chip, how are you good?
- 15:41Speaker 5: Great to catch up with you again.
- 15:42Speaker 7: Thanks for your time, of course, thanks for having me on.
- 15:45Speaker 5: So what did you.
- 15:46Speaker 1: Learn about Pete Carroll before you started this project?
- 15:51Speaker 15: I learned that he is one of the most unorthodox,
- 15:56Speaker 15: weirdest football coaches that I've ever written about. In fact,
- 15:59Speaker 15: he's definitely the weirdest, and and a lot of a
- 16:02Speaker 15: lot of it in a good way. I mean, he's
- 16:03Speaker 15: written about Nick Saban, yep, Bill Belichick, and you know
- 16:07Speaker 15: those guys are like the military guy coaches, and this guy,
- 16:10Speaker 15: you know, Pete Carroll grew up in San Francisco during
- 16:12Speaker 15: the Summer of Love, and you know, he studied psychology
- 16:15Speaker 15: and Far Eastern mysticism, and he believed he was a
- 16:18Speaker 15: player's coach was his derogatory.
- 16:19Speaker 7: Term back then.
- 16:20Speaker 15: But you know, he believed the overriding thing that he
- 16:23Speaker 15: believed was that football should be fun. And you know,
- 16:26Speaker 15: a lot of these interviews with his former players and
- 16:28Speaker 15: his former assistant coaches, you know, they were all like
- 16:31Speaker 15: it was really he made it fun and you know,
- 16:34Speaker 15: believed that peak performance came when you were having fun.
- 16:36Speaker 15: And a lot of these players said, you know, I
- 16:37Speaker 15: felt like I was twelve years old playing shirts and
- 16:40Speaker 15: skins in my backyard touch football.
- 16:43Speaker 6: There.
- 16:43Speaker 5: There weren't a lot of guard rails.
- 16:45Speaker 1: There weren't many guard rails provided by his assistant coaches.
- 16:49Speaker 1: But they did from time to time try to keep
- 16:52Speaker 1: him on the road, did they not?
- 16:54Speaker 15: Absolutely, So the dynamic was inverted, right. I mean, there's
- 16:58Speaker 15: there's a good cop bad cup thing that goes on
- 17:00Speaker 15: in a in a coaching you know, and the head
- 17:03Speaker 15: coach is usually the bad cop. So Saban would go
- 17:05Speaker 15: and yell at one of his players. Then one of
- 17:06Speaker 15: his assistants would come over and say, hey, here's what
- 17:08Speaker 15: he meant. You know, calm down, it's all cool. It
- 17:10Speaker 15: was totally inverted with with with with Carol. He was
- 17:14Speaker 15: the good cop, but he had bad cops on there.
- 17:17Speaker 15: Ed Orgeron uh probably being the best, you know, I
- 17:19Speaker 15: mean he was. He was the disciplinarian. So there were
- 17:22Speaker 15: guardrails in that way. There weren't a whole lot of
- 17:25Speaker 15: guardrails though, when it came to kind of like the
- 17:27Speaker 15: you know, the hype of the program. Yeah, this was
- 17:30Speaker 15: this was no college, no sorry, no pro teams in
- 17:33Speaker 15: LA at the time. Right, Hotwood celebrities. They love winners.
- 17:37Speaker 15: This team started winning. Next thing, Will Ferrell Snoop Doggy
- 17:41Speaker 15: Farm are at you know, not only at games, they're
- 17:44Speaker 15: at practice, right, and so you've got this like this
- 17:47Speaker 15: craziness that practice where you know that players tell me
- 17:50Speaker 15: that you know it's it's we're doing seven on seven's
- 17:54Speaker 15: And I look over in the corner there's Arnold Schwartzinger
- 17:56Speaker 15: sitting there. And so Carol loved that, right. It was
- 17:59Speaker 15: a great recruit to I mean, imagine being a high
- 18:01Speaker 15: school kid and going out there and meeting Snoop dog
- 18:03Speaker 15: You're probably going to see uh and you know, and
- 18:07Speaker 15: he loved the fact that it put pressure on these guys.
- 18:09Speaker 15: You know, so in practice they would be performing in
- 18:12Speaker 15: front of all these celebrities and it would make the
- 18:14Speaker 15: Orange Bowl seem like no big deal. Right, So you know,
- 18:18Speaker 15: but in terms of guardrails too, there there weren't many
- 18:20Speaker 15: there either. I mean, they got a little bit out
- 18:22Speaker 15: of control. Kind of the greatest strength was this sort
- 18:25Speaker 15: of vibe and this field that he created here, and
- 18:27Speaker 15: also that became kind of its greatest weakness.
- 18:29Speaker 16: You know.
- 18:30Speaker 1: It reminded me a little bit of the you during
- 18:33Speaker 1: their heyday down at South Beach in Miami.
- 18:35Speaker 5: They had the run of all the clubs.
- 18:37Speaker 1: They let them in, didn't bed and matter how old
- 18:39Speaker 1: they were, they drank with the celebrities. They never bought
- 18:42Speaker 1: a drink. I mean they were the toast of the town,
- 18:44Speaker 1: were they not?
- 18:45Speaker 7: Absolutely?
- 18:46Speaker 15: So it was it was like the you, but but
- 18:49Speaker 15: on steroids because you had you know, that's it's Hollywood, yes,
- 18:52Speaker 15: And so I love there's a there's one of my
- 18:55Speaker 15: favorite antecdotes. So they were the princes of La. They
- 18:57Speaker 15: could go anywhere. Yeah, they went to a clubs. They'd
- 18:59Speaker 15: go out and you know, one guy was like, oh,
- 19:01Speaker 15: Paris Hilton and David Hasselhoff would be sitting at our table.
- 19:03Speaker 15: Stuff like that. So, but I love this one act
- 19:05Speaker 15: out where a group of USC guys go to this
- 19:08Speaker 15: like the hottest club that's in LA and the promoter
- 19:11Speaker 15: comes out and he lets them all in in front
- 19:13Speaker 15: of players from the San Diego Chargers and the Chargers
- 19:17Speaker 15: players like, but all these guys are in college and
- 19:19Speaker 15: they're they're bitching about it, but it's yeah, it's it's
- 19:22Speaker 15: like it's just it was a crazy you know, college
- 19:24Speaker 15: football is kind of a it's a rural or a
- 19:26Speaker 15: small town game, right, I mean, it's the college station
- 19:30Speaker 15: and State College and Escaloosa. It's not really a city
- 19:33Speaker 15: game like the NFL. However, USC was was different. It
- 19:36Speaker 15: was it was a city game. It was they were
- 19:38Speaker 15: a city team and so made that was very unusual.
- 19:41Speaker 15: Actually probably never really will happen again. I feel like
- 19:43Speaker 15: it was a you know, it became unregulated and one
- 19:45Speaker 15: of the reasons the ncuble A was so harsh on
- 19:47Speaker 15: them because I think people were jealous. You know, they're
- 19:50Speaker 15: jealous of the recruiting advantage. You know, it's very it's
- 19:52Speaker 15: easier to recruit when Will Ferrell and and Snoop Dogg
- 19:55Speaker 15: are saying, yeah, come here, man, it'll be fun, you'll
- 19:56Speaker 15: have a good time.
- 19:57Speaker 5: How was Carol viewed among his fellow coaches?
- 20:01Speaker 15: Many, you know, those who coached with him. You know,
- 20:06Speaker 15: he he had. He a lot of good mentors like
- 20:08Speaker 15: Bud Grant Minnesota and Monte Kiffin, who of course is
- 20:11Speaker 15: Lane Kiffin's father, and George Seaffert out in San Francisco.
- 20:15Speaker 7: They loved him.
- 20:15Speaker 15: I think ownership, particularly in the NFL before he got
- 20:19Speaker 15: the USC job, were really wary of this guy. Right,
- 20:22Speaker 15: because he would ride his bike to practice. He installed
- 20:25Speaker 15: a basketball court, and you know, in the in the
- 20:27Speaker 15: football facility, he wore flip flops every day. He was
- 20:29Speaker 15: a player's coach. I mean they just didn't.
- 20:31Speaker 7: Get him, right. Yeah.
- 20:33Speaker 15: I think his fellow coaches, especially, they respected his his
- 20:37Speaker 15: football acumen. I mean, he was He's a he was,
- 20:40Speaker 15: you know, in his prime, was a defensive genius. He
- 20:42Speaker 15: really adopted and adapted Monty Kiffin's Tampa too and made
- 20:46Speaker 15: it into something special and really brought defense to the
- 20:50Speaker 15: Pac ten, which was not known really as a place
- 20:54Speaker 15: whereat defense was played, and he brought it there. I
- 20:56Speaker 15: mean there was a two thousand and eight He had
- 20:58Speaker 15: Clay Matthews and Brian Cushion and Ray mal Luga were
- 21:02Speaker 15: his linebackers. I mean, just a fearsome group.
- 21:05Speaker 7: Of great players.
- 21:06Speaker 15: Of course, he had Troy Paula Malu as well earlier
- 21:09Speaker 15: in his stint at USC. So yeah, I think his
- 21:11Speaker 15: fellow coaches respected his defensive Acumenishi for sure did.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Saban never mentioned the word fun when you were talking
- 21:17Speaker 1: to him.
- 21:18Speaker 15: No, except except for we're not going to have fun.
- 21:22Speaker 15: It was definitively not going to be fun.
- 21:24Speaker 7: You know.
- 21:24Speaker 15: It's so it was interesting to I flew down to Oxford,
- 21:28Speaker 15: Miissippi to interview Lane Kiffen when he was still at
- 21:30Speaker 15: oldest and to talk to him about because he coached
- 21:35Speaker 15: he coached under both of those yes, uh, and to
- 21:38Speaker 15: talk to him about the differences. It was a great,
- 21:41Speaker 15: great interview in terms of trying to get the differences
- 21:43Speaker 15: between those two. But just like how different Carol was
- 21:46Speaker 15: from any other coach. Really, it was a defensive coach
- 21:50Speaker 15: who was who felt like the way that Kiffen put it,
- 21:52Speaker 15: who felt like an offensive coordinator because he was so
- 21:55Speaker 15: he just was so creative. Right, Usually defensive are kind
- 21:58Speaker 15: of curmudgeoningly, like like Elichick and like Saban. But this
- 22:01Speaker 15: was a defensive coach who was incredibly creative. I felt
- 22:05Speaker 15: like Mike Martz or something.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Do you think Kiffin took some of that personality from
- 22:09Speaker 1: being around Carroll?
- 22:11Speaker 7: I think so.
- 22:11Speaker 15: I mean, you know what's fascinating about Kiffin? So he
- 22:13Speaker 15: was he was a kind of a NEPO higher Yeah,
- 22:16Speaker 15: I mean, yes, Monte Kiffen was was Pete Carroll's mentor.
- 22:20Speaker 15: He loved Monte Kiffen. By the way. Monte Kiffen was
- 22:23Speaker 15: a man full of pranks, who'd loved to have fun,
- 22:25Speaker 15: and that kind of went down to Pete Carroll and
- 22:27Speaker 15: then I think, you know a lot of that, certainly,
- 22:30Speaker 15: the creativity, certainly the recruiting and and a lot of
- 22:34Speaker 15: the kind of you know, having a little fun looseness
- 22:39Speaker 15: came from Lane. But Lane's very much his own guy.
- 22:41Speaker 15: I mean, he's he's very different from from from both
- 22:45Speaker 15: of those mentors that he had, Although Carroll was one
- 22:48Speaker 15: of the first coaches to really adopt social media, which
- 22:51Speaker 15: Lane Kiffin has done very well.
- 22:53Speaker 1: You you write about that famous Rose Bowl game against
- 22:58Speaker 1: ben Cheung and Texas, you write expensively about it, and
- 23:01Speaker 1: even though I think people forget, they were still pretty good.
- 23:06Speaker 1: They were top five good after that game. But it
- 23:10Speaker 1: was never quite the same around there after that game
- 23:14Speaker 1: was that.
- 23:15Speaker 15: I feel like the high water mark was, you know,
- 23:18Speaker 15: fourth and two with a little over two minutes ago
- 23:20Speaker 15: in that game and Lindell White running a play that
- 23:23Speaker 15: had you know, averaged eight yards, yeah, and only getting
- 23:27Speaker 15: a foot and a half and coming up six inch
- 23:29Speaker 15: and short from icing the game basically Yeah. So after that,
- 23:32Speaker 15: you know, he's they they still had the top recruiting
- 23:34Speaker 15: class every year, they still had they had John David Booty,
- 23:37Speaker 15: they had Mark Sanchez, they had they had Matt Barkley.
- 23:40Speaker 15: I mean, they had incredible quarterbacks, they had incredible talent.
- 23:43Speaker 15: But for the next couple of years. You know, one
- 23:44Speaker 15: of the things too is, you know, when Carol came
- 23:46Speaker 15: into the Pac ten, it was you know, his rising
- 23:51Speaker 15: tide kind of you know, elevated all the boats, right,
- 23:54Speaker 15: So yes, in order to compete with him, Stanford hired
- 23:59Speaker 15: Jim Harbaugh yep, and Oregon got really innovative with Chip Kelly,
- 24:03Speaker 15: so they had to like he raised the level of everything.
- 24:05Speaker 15: So you know, they became the target. They became, and
- 24:09Speaker 15: they took their eye off the ball a little bit too.
- 24:11Speaker 15: I mean some of that kind of celebrity hype kind
- 24:12Speaker 15: of went to their heads. I feel like they weren't
- 24:14Speaker 15: quite quite as prepared.
- 24:15Speaker 1: And how many times have we seen this story over
- 24:17Speaker 1: the years money right, that they can't handle the success ultimately.
- 24:22Speaker 15: I Mean, the craziest thing about this about this game
- 24:25Speaker 15: and coaches, to me, is is not just reaching the pinnacle,
- 24:28Speaker 15: It's it's can you sustain? Yes, It's almost aside from
- 24:33Speaker 15: Nick Saban, you can't really think back to people who
- 24:36Speaker 15: actually sustained it. For this it's almost impossible. Yes, So
- 24:40Speaker 15: to be USC team had the chance to win three
- 24:43Speaker 15: titles in a row, which no modern era has never happened,
- 24:46Speaker 15: it would have been an immortal program, right, and it
- 24:49Speaker 15: just couldn't couldn't quite get over the hump after that,
- 24:52Speaker 15: after that, uh, you know, not yet not converting that
- 24:54Speaker 15: fourth down.
- 24:55Speaker 5: What's Carol's legacy?
- 24:58Speaker 15: You know, I think he has the unfortunate historical sort
- 25:00Speaker 15: of accident of coming along at the same time as
- 25:02Speaker 15: Bill Belichick, who's considered to be the NFL's greatest coach,
- 25:05Speaker 15: and Nick Saban, who's considered to be the college football's
- 25:08Speaker 15: greatest coach. But you know, Pete Carroll is again six
- 25:13Speaker 15: inches away from three national titles, a bad decision the
- 25:15Speaker 15: goal line from having two Super Bowl wins. He's one
- 25:17Speaker 15: of the only he's one of only three men who
- 25:19Speaker 15: won a college title and a Super Bowl. So I think,
- 25:23Speaker 15: you know, as time goes by, I think we'll look back.
- 25:25Speaker 15: You know, he may not be on the rushmore with
- 25:27Speaker 15: the top four or five guys, but he's certainly up there.
- 25:30Speaker 15: You know, he was a fantastic coach. It's it's a
- 25:32Speaker 15: little sad that it ended in the way that it
- 25:34Speaker 15: ended with the Raiders, you know, the terrible Roster. Probably
- 25:37Speaker 15: good that he doesn't hang on and you know, stayed
- 25:40Speaker 15: there for a couple of years. I don't see it
- 25:41Speaker 15: getting much better, real, real fast. But you know, I
- 25:44Speaker 15: think he'll be looked back on as a as a
- 25:46Speaker 15: as a guy who did it a very different way
- 25:48Speaker 15: and succeeded.

- 28:50Speaker 8: I am.
- 28:51Speaker 1: I want to say a belated happy birthday to the
- 28:55Speaker 1: first Lady of music and culture. Dolly Parton celebrate her
- 29:00Speaker 1: eightieth birthday yesterday lots of new images. She posed with
- 29:07Speaker 1: a butterfly shaped cake adorned with candles that was given
- 29:12Speaker 1: to her by Bono. I don't think I've ever gotten
- 29:16Speaker 1: a birthday cake from Bono before. Geez, people say, says Dolly, Well,
- 29:24Speaker 1: you're going to be eighty years old. Well, so what
- 29:27Speaker 1: look at all I've done in eighty years. I feel
- 29:30Speaker 1: like I'm just getting started. I know that sounds stupid,
- 29:35Speaker 1: but unless my health gives way, which right now I
- 29:38Speaker 1: seem to be doing fine. The legendary entertainer's sister Frida
- 29:46Speaker 1: sparked concerns for Dolly's condition in October with a social
- 29:50Speaker 1: media post which she had to walk back, saying I
- 29:55Speaker 1: didn't mean to scare anyone or make it sound so serious.
- 30:01Speaker 1: Dolly had to put out a video on Instagram. I'm
- 30:04Speaker 1: saying I'm not dying. She missed she is. It's like,
- 30:15Speaker 1: and I've seen this before, It's like Dolly has a
- 30:21Speaker 1: cell phone, but she very seldom answers it the dream exactly,
- 30:29Speaker 1: only only when she wants to.
- 30:33Speaker 16: Is she the one who you have to contact by facts?
- 30:36Speaker 16: We talked about something.
- 30:37Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, Bill Murray, you have to Yeah, it's
- 30:44Speaker 1: it's Bill Murray.
- 30:46Speaker 5: And I believe you.
- 30:47Speaker 1: Have to call a phone number and leave a message,
- 30:52Speaker 1: and if he wants to get back with you, he will.
- 30:58Speaker 16: I would say that's ideal, but he's, from what we've heard,
- 31:01Speaker 16: not the nicest.
- 31:03Speaker 1: I mean, you know, but you either want Bill Murray
- 31:07Speaker 1: or you don't, and he has to want you and
- 31:11Speaker 1: apparently to get in touch.
- 31:13Speaker 5: So there you go.
- 31:15Speaker 16: So there's that. Yeah, that's how I mean to live
- 31:19Speaker 16: my life. You have to fax me or leave me
- 31:21Speaker 16: a voicemail.
- 31:22Speaker 5: I think I think I do that just about every day.
- 31:25Speaker 5: I'm pretty sure.
- 31:28Speaker 16: That's probably Yeah. Yeah, Well, happy belated birthday, Dolly. I
- 31:35Speaker 16: hope you live to be a hundred or more. You know,
- 31:41Speaker 16: let's talk about the Royals, because it's got to I
- 31:44Speaker 16: feel like we Yeah, you know, now that Megan has
- 31:46Speaker 16: separated herself, we don't have to talk about them all
- 31:48Speaker 16: the time. But this isn't about her. This is about
- 31:51Speaker 16: Cap Middleton and Prince Williams. They're having an away day
- 31:55Speaker 16: in Scotland, so as.
- 31:58Speaker 5: A walk about? Was it a walk about? We'll find out, okay, sorry.
- 32:05Speaker 16: So as well as Prince Harry stepped out in London
- 32:09Speaker 16: for the second day in a row in his lawsuit
- 32:11Speaker 16: against the publishing of The Daily Mail, his brother and
- 32:14Speaker 16: sister in law are over four hundred miles away visiting
- 32:17Speaker 16: uh Stirling and.
- 32:20Speaker 5: Oh no, no, wonder what this shot. They knew that
- 32:23Speaker 5: Harry was in London.
- 32:26Speaker 16: I know they're like, do we have any obligation any
- 32:28Speaker 16: weird invitations?
- 32:29Speaker 5: Yeah, we're going to discott.
- 32:34Speaker 16: At least four hundred miles away.
- 32:37Speaker 5: They were at the I believe they were at the
- 32:39Speaker 5: Kelpies in Falkirk.
- 32:42Speaker 16: Yeah, exactly, so they are there. Yes, they're putting spotlight
- 32:46Speaker 16: on the Scotland tradition that are continuing to connect communities.
- 32:51Speaker 16: So William and Kate made a stop at the Flies.
- 32:56Speaker 16: Thank you. The thirty meter tall steel horse head sculptures
- 33:00Speaker 16: embodied the fusion of Scotland's rich heritage and mythological with
- 33:04Speaker 16: a power of Scottish industry and engineering. I forget that
- 33:07Speaker 16: the animal of Scotland is a unicorn. All that surprise,
- 33:12Speaker 16: it's real. Posing for photos. That's your one fun fact
- 33:17Speaker 16: not so fun or guess fun fact of the day.
- 33:19Speaker 16: Posing for photos with the structures. The couple matched in
- 33:22Speaker 16: blue ensembles, with Princess Kate sporting a long tartan coat
- 33:26Speaker 16: or jacket sorry, a clear nod to the country, which
- 33:30Speaker 16: which that means I totally probably mispronounced what that coat
- 33:32Speaker 16: is actually called, which closely is associated with the pattern.
- 33:37Speaker 1: Well, it's good to see the kids. You that, it's
- 33:40Speaker 1: good to see the kids out and about.
- 33:43Speaker 16: Oh, I agree, and I was wrong. We do have
- 33:46Speaker 16: a Megan Markeles star.
- 33:49Speaker 5: Make it quick.
- 33:50Speaker 16: Sorry, Well, I know y'all are dying to know what's
- 33:54Speaker 16: next for her lifestyle series With Love Megan.
- 33:58Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I'd forgotten she had a lifestyle series.
- 34:03Speaker 16: Well, there are no plans for a third season, though
- 34:09Speaker 16: the possibility of future specials or one off projects have
- 34:12Speaker 16: not been ruled out. So. The most recent installment of
- 34:15Speaker 16: With Love Meghan was a holiday special that did debut
- 34:20Speaker 16: and on December third. It was literally called With Love
- 34:24Speaker 16: Meghan Holidays Celebration. So she's really getting creative with these titles.
- 34:28Speaker 7: Nice.
- 34:30Speaker 16: It was a one hour festive episode. What could she
- 34:34Speaker 16: possibly do for one like if you want to torture yourself?
- 34:38Speaker 16: It's on Netflix? No anyways apparently. Yeah. So, while appearing
- 34:46Speaker 16: on Fortune's Most Powerful Women Summit in October twenty twenty five,
- 34:50Speaker 16: Meghan was act directly whether With Love with Megan or
- 34:53Speaker 16: With Love Megan would return for a third season. She
- 34:55Speaker 16: did say, well, the special holiday specials coming out in November,
- 34:58Speaker 16: which is wrong. It's a really good one.
- 35:00Speaker 5: Another word, you know, just at.
- 35:02Speaker 16: The series, I was looking at that format again. It
- 35:05Speaker 16: is a ye era of learns, so we're able to
- 35:08Speaker 16: say eight episodes for two seasons. It's a lot of work,
- 35:12Speaker 16: and having done suits for seven years, I remember what
- 35:15Speaker 16: goes into production. I also recognize how much people want
- 35:20Speaker 16: context in different sizes. Part of the testing out now
- 35:24Speaker 16: is it's amazing to sit and watch a show for
- 35:26Speaker 16: thirty minutes, But how can I give a recipe? Hold
- 35:30Speaker 16: on one second, a recipe? I guess there's that. So
- 35:36Speaker 16: you know, I know we're all dying to just have
- 35:40Speaker 16: more of it.
- 35:40Speaker 1: It looks like look will be the first ones to
- 35:43Speaker 1: break the news when Megan has another special.
- 35:45Speaker 5: Okay, other than that, Megan go away.
- 35:49Speaker 16: I'm gonna have to watch something else.
- 35:52Speaker 1: So Pitbull gave everybody a little glimpse of the Super
- 35:55Speaker 1: Bowl yesterday. He was one of the music guests pre
- 36:02Speaker 1: stage at the All State Championship tailgate before the College
- 36:07Speaker 1: Football Championship last night in Miami. He hit the stage
- 36:12Speaker 1: in all black, surrounded by backup dancers. His performance, streamed
- 36:20Speaker 1: on the ESPN app was an upbeat and energetic take
- 36:25Speaker 1: on his hit track Fireball. The Bull, who turned forty
- 36:31Speaker 1: five just ten days ago no just last week, has
- 36:37Speaker 1: long dubbed himself Mister three to five in honor of
- 36:40Speaker 1: the area code of Miami. So the electrifying singer rapper
- 36:48Speaker 1: born Armando Petes has used the success of his music
- 36:54Speaker 1: career to advocate for education.
- 37:00Speaker 5: Is there anything he can't do?
- 37:02Speaker 16: Seriously, he's missed worldwide?
- 37:05Speaker 1: Yeah, and like I said, isn't isn't he the halftime
- 37:09Speaker 1: entertainment at the Super Bowl?
- 37:10Speaker 5: Did I get that right?
- 37:11Speaker 19: Yeah?
- 37:12Speaker 16: No, he's not. It's who is it? It's uh now
- 37:19Speaker 16: that you said that, my brain is hold on, I
- 37:21Speaker 16: have this in my brain. It's why can't I remember
- 37:25Speaker 16: his name? Oh my gosh, hold on, really quick search
- 37:31Speaker 16: will yeah, bad Bunny?
- 37:33Speaker 5: Oh that's right, I get. I get the bunny. I
- 37:37Speaker 5: get the bunny and the bull mixed up.
- 37:40Speaker 16: I kept want to say Benny and I'm like, that's
- 37:42Speaker 16: not it.
- 37:43Speaker 1: Well, after after yesterday the super Bowl, people should be
- 37:47Speaker 1: be calling pit Bull instead of bad Bunny.
- 37:49Speaker 16: Could you imagine that would be such a.
- 37:52Speaker 5: Fun about pit Bull and bad Bunny.
- 37:57Speaker 16: Well, you never know, they usually do have some price.
- 38:00Speaker 5: Get That's what I'm saying.
- 38:02Speaker 7: That's what I'm.
- 38:02Speaker 16: Sayingide will be at the super Bowl.
- 38:07Speaker 5: Piers Morgan's recovering from an injury.
- 38:10Speaker 1: The sixty year old British talk show host took the
- 38:14Speaker 1: social media Sunday to post a selfie showing himself in
- 38:19Speaker 1: a hospital bed, telling his father's he tripped on a
- 38:23Speaker 1: small step in a hotel restaurant in London and broke
- 38:28Speaker 1: his leg so badly he said, I needed a new hip.
- 38:34Speaker 1: The former America's Got Tala Judge shared he's recovering in
- 38:38Speaker 1: the hospital, will need to.
- 38:40Speaker 5: Use crutches for six weeks.
- 38:42Speaker 1: He won't be able to be traveling long for twelve weeks.
- 38:49Speaker 1: Morgan shared a photo of an X ray that showed
- 38:52Speaker 1: the fracture. So we wish peers a speedy recovery and
- 39:02Speaker 1: well watch those steps at the hotel.
- 39:05Speaker 16: Hopefully it was labeled Okay, I guess you can't, could you?
- 39:09Speaker 5: Oh? I hope he does. Yeah, can you.
- 39:12Speaker 16: Imagine anyone but piis Morgan?
- 39:15Speaker 19: Yeah, jeez, well man, Okay, So we I don't know
- 39:21Speaker 19: if we've ever briefly or we might have briefly talked
- 39:24Speaker 19: about this, but it's not memorable enough for me to
- 39:27Speaker 19: bring it, you know that to remember off the top
- 39:29Speaker 19: of my head.
- 39:30Speaker 16: But there is and has been speculation of there being
- 39:34Speaker 16: hot water or bad blood between Brooklyn Beckham and his family. Well,
- 39:42Speaker 16: he has made several allegations against his family, including Spice
- 39:46Speaker 16: Girls icon Victoria Beckham and soccer star David Beckham. The
- 39:50Speaker 16: twenty six year old father cryptically addressed in a new
- 39:53Speaker 16: television televised interview mistakes his children have made in the past.
- 39:58Speaker 16: So during a Tuesday So basic, what happened? Just to
- 40:00Speaker 16: get you up to speech hip, There's been a lot
- 40:03Speaker 16: of speculation that he's not talking to his family. He
- 40:06Speaker 16: made some Instagram posts with a lot of allegations as
- 40:09Speaker 16: to why.
- 40:09Speaker 5: Okay, So, during a.
- 40:11Speaker 16: Tuesday Morning appearance, David responded to one of the host's
- 40:16Speaker 16: questions about the dangers of social media social media, all
- 40:19Speaker 16: in the wake of Brooklyn using his Instagram page to
- 40:21Speaker 16: address what claims was long standing problematic behavior on the
- 40:25Speaker 16: part of his mother, father, and siblings, all standing from
- 40:28Speaker 16: his relationship to wife and actress Nicola. Okay, I've always
- 40:33Speaker 16: spoken about social media and the power of social media
- 40:36Speaker 16: for the good and for the bad. We've talked about
- 40:38Speaker 16: what kids can access these days and it can be dangerous.
- 40:41Speaker 16: This is what David said. What I've found personally, especially
- 40:44Speaker 16: with my kids as well, use it for the right reasons.
- 40:47Speaker 16: He pointed to his own usage of social media to
- 40:49Speaker 16: benefit you and I CEF in an effort to make
- 40:53Speaker 16: people aware of what's going on around the world for children,
- 40:56Speaker 16: David continued, cryptically referencing the behavior of his own family.
- 41:00Speaker 16: Tried to do the same with my children to educate them.
- 41:02Speaker 16: He said, they make mistakes. Children are children are allowed
- 41:05Speaker 16: to make mistakes. That's how they learn. That's what I
- 41:08Speaker 16: try to teach my kids. But you know, you have
- 41:10Speaker 16: to sometimes let them make those mistakes as well.
- 41:15Speaker 1: Yeah, so, so there's a additionally, there's a family spat
- 41:20Speaker 1: being aired public.
- 41:22Speaker 5: What you're saying, I.
- 41:24Speaker 16: Don't know if I had this specific burbage on it. However,
- 41:27Speaker 16: I will say one of the things he alleged was
- 41:30Speaker 16: that she his mom, was going to make her his
- 41:33Speaker 16: wife's wedding dress. She sacked out less minute. Another time,
- 41:36Speaker 16: they had a choreographed dance at the wedding between him
- 41:38Speaker 16: and his wife. It was a very loving song, and
- 41:41Speaker 16: his mom, I guess, took over and started, he said,
- 41:44Speaker 16: grinding or dancing inappropriately with her, which that just like
- 41:49Speaker 16: I was.
- 41:50Speaker 1: Like, oh, okay, So do you remember Laurie Laughlin and.
- 41:57Speaker 16: Nelly who could for get it?
- 42:01Speaker 1: Weren't they the ones that tried to buy their kid
- 42:06Speaker 1: a USC scholarship, right, Okay, Yeah, well.
- 42:11Speaker 5: You know.
- 42:11Speaker 1: They split in October, and Laurie, according to People, is
- 42:16Speaker 1: still extremely angry with him. A third insider says fashion
- 42:25Speaker 1: designer Gi Nulli has a high opinion of the actress.
- 42:30Speaker 1: He thinks she's a lovely person, an incredible mom, and
- 42:35Speaker 1: once things resolved quietly, they were married almost thirty years.
- 42:45Speaker 1: Not long after the announcement that they were taking a break.
- 42:50Speaker 1: Another source told People the marriage never fully recovered from
- 42:55Speaker 1: the strain of being in that college admissions scandal, in
- 43:01Speaker 1: which they pleaded guilty to wire and mail fraud and
- 43:06Speaker 1: accused of paying five hundred thousand dollars to a consultant
- 43:12Speaker 1: who falsely designated their daughters as recruits for the USC
- 43:18Speaker 1: crew team. Remember, Lorii served two months in prison, Mossi
- 43:26Speaker 1: Mode served five months in prison, and apparently things have
- 43:32Speaker 1: never been the same. Louri feels be trade. So I
- 43:41Speaker 1: hate that for those kids. I thought that one was gonna.
- 43:44Speaker 16: Last, you know that on them, I guess, I guess.
- 43:52Speaker 16: I guess going to prison together.
- 43:54Speaker 5: For you know, I guess it didn't help.
- 43:56Speaker 16: That could really put a string.
- 43:57Speaker 5: Yeah, I guess it's strained the marriage.
- 44:01Speaker 16: Especially when you've been married that long. You know, Well,
- 44:04Speaker 16: let's talk about Hillary Duff, because we don't really ever
- 44:08Speaker 16: talk about Hillary Duff, so why not? Do you know
- 44:10Speaker 16: who Hillary Duff is? Chipped?
- 44:12Speaker 5: I know the name I think she was. Was she
- 44:16Speaker 5: like a Disney mouseketeer or something?
- 44:20Speaker 16: She was a Disney star? She was, Yes, she was
- 44:24Speaker 16: Lizzie McGuire, which I know that probably means nothing.
- 44:27Speaker 5: Nothing.
- 44:27Speaker 16: That was really two thousand and then she wanted to
- 44:31Speaker 16: break out of her Disney mold and be a you know,
- 44:34Speaker 16: I'm alternative, I'm cool one of those. But she hasn't
- 44:37Speaker 16: really released a lot of music lately until recently, and
- 44:43Speaker 16: this is you know, she performed her iconic song what
- 44:46Speaker 16: Dreams Are Made Of Way McGuire movie I Know, for
- 44:50Speaker 16: the first time ever ever during her return to the
- 44:55Speaker 16: stage after an eighteen year breaks angak, I told you
- 45:00Speaker 16: it's been a minute. The singer and actress kicked off
- 45:03Speaker 16: her Small Rooms, Big Nerves tour in London Monday night
- 45:08Speaker 16: and had the fans in their feels as she sang
- 45:10Speaker 16: a slew of her early two thousand bops, including You
- 45:13Speaker 16: Come Clean, Fly and even her ballot Someone's Watching Over Me,
- 45:19Speaker 16: which was from a movie she did. She also debuted
- 45:22Speaker 16: My Kind from her twenty fifteen album Breathe Then Breathe Out,
- 45:25Speaker 16: and a handful of tracks from her upcoming album Luck
- 45:28Speaker 16: or Something. She closed out the show with a fan favorite,
- 45:32Speaker 16: What Dreams Are Made Of, what she previously hinted would
- 45:35Speaker 16: be in her set list. Fans were thrilled about the
- 45:38Speaker 16: variety list of tracks and took social media to celebrate
- 45:41Speaker 16: Hillary's return. See, this is what these stars have to do.
- 45:43Speaker 16: If they want to come back and have the serious
- 45:46Speaker 16: you know, songwriters and whatever I guess continue making music,
- 45:50Speaker 16: they need to bring their roots back because that's what
- 45:53Speaker 16: your fans really want.
- 45:54Speaker 5: That's what they want.
- 45:55Speaker 16: Wait, and then you sprinkle that new stuff in and
- 45:57Speaker 16: hopefully it'll stick.
- 45:59Speaker 5: You give the people what they want, right.
- 46:03Speaker 16: That's probably why that errors tour was so I mean,
- 46:06Speaker 16: the Air's tour would have been big anyways.
- 46:07Speaker 1: But you know, all right, let's do some birthdays. Sunday
- 46:13Speaker 1: Robert Redford would have been eighty eight? What Elaine Boozler.
- 46:22Speaker 5: Seventy two? Sunday did he die? Who the first guy?
- 46:30Speaker 5: Robert Redford?
- 46:31Speaker 16: He said he would have been.
- 46:33Speaker 5: Oh is he still alive.
- 46:35Speaker 16: I don't know.
- 46:38Speaker 1: You need to look that up while I give the
- 46:40Speaker 1: other birthdays.

- 46:53Speaker 5: Let's see, Oh.
- 46:56Speaker 16: He did die right. We talked about that. He thought
- 46:59Speaker 16: he did listed on the birthdays.
- 47:02Speaker 1: Probably the person who did it didn't. He was like you,

- 48:27Speaker 16: I really wrong, Like he's so.
- 48:30Speaker 1: It's more like if you have a name and you're
