- Aleta: Hello and welcome to Besties Do Verticals with your besties, Alita and Lucy. And today we have a special guest. Hi, I'm Alita. Lucy: And I'm Lucy. Tristan: And I am Tristan. Aleta: As you know As knows, the of our podcast is to promote and support queer verticals, actors, ⁓ and all the other that go into producing the product projects that we love. We are so thrilled to have our fourth interview guest with us today. Lucy: Yay! So guys, I don't know what we did to deserve this, but we have Tristan Green on our podcast right now. And I am refraining. Yes! And I am refraining from being insanely hyperactive about this. You can ⁓ I know. ⁓ I'm doing a great job. Anyway, but I ⁓ I maybe you can all let me know if I do a job or not at the end of this podcast. Aleta: Are you? Ha ha. Lucy: Tristan Green is a rising star in the world of film and TV, who a lot of us know from the BL vertical Bound to My Hot Rival, which was DramaPop's first ever queer vertical. And while we all love Tristan as the compelling Roman Volkov, he has done other wonderful projects outside of that in both the vertical and traditional film space. He's been in playing Dirty on Drama Pop's. Camp Evergreen on Vigloo. And he also seems to be a bit of a Scream King, Aleta: Mm. Lucy: as he has a few horror films under his belt already. ⁓ Most notably Bitter Souls on Amazon Prime, which I'm gonna watch tonight. I'm just just Gonna have to go check it out. I love it. ⁓ He also has some exciting upcoming releases. Julie, the Bard, and apparently God of the ⁓ which Tristan: It it'll be a fun watch, that's for sure. Aleta: Mm-hmm. Lucy: Tristan is currently on set filming with the Netflix. Aleta: Amazing. Lucy: ⁓ my goodness. So I'm I'm beside myself right now. But would you like to introduce intro the the we'll cut that. Would you like to maybe we won't. Would you like to introduce yourself, Tristan? Tristan: Absolutely. ⁓ yeah, hi, my name is Tristan Green. I feel like Lucy said all of the cool stuff. ⁓ I Aleta: Ha ha. Tristan: am from North Carolina. Apart from acting, I do little silly goofy ⁓ comedy skits on the internet. ⁓ yeah, that's that's about it. That's as cool as I get, I fear. ⁓ Lucy: You were s you are so much cooler than that. I've seen those skits. Aleta: Ha ha ha. Lucy: They are hilarious. ⁓ Okay, ⁓ we wanted to do a little icebreaker. These questions you have seen but would you like to play would you rather with us? Okay, I am all over this. ⁓ Alita, you have to play too, okay? Tristan: Thank you. Yes, let's do it. Lucy: Just like last time. Okay. Alright. Tristan, would you rather? ⁓ Aleta: Okay. Sure. Lucy: Have a kazoo soundtrack play every time you walk into a room or hear a track after everything you say. Tristan: I think a laugh track after everything I say would get to my head too much. Aleta: Yeah. Tristan: I'm gonna go with the kazoo. Kazoo for the wheel. Yeah. Aleta: Yeah, I think so too. Lucy: ⁓ my gosh. Okay. Aleta: Imagine saying something really serious and there's a laugh track after it, right? Lucy: Hehehe. Tristan: That is true. Like you're you're crying being all like emotional and then just laughter. Yeah. No, that wouldn't be fun. Lucy: Alrighty, kazoo. I wanted to say laugh track, but you're right. I would just be sad if I said something sad. Tristan: Yeah. Lucy: Okay. Would rather ⁓ lose your sight or your memories? ⁓ Tristan: Mm. Sight. I feel like I'd have to go sight. just blind and ⁓ sad. Lucy: Okay. Tristan: ⁓ Lucy: Haha Okay, Alita. Aleta: Yeah, same. I think you could adapt to to vision, but losing your memories of, you know, everyone that you love and your whole life would be really difficult. Yeah, devastating. Lucy: ⁓ ⁓ don't know what I would choose. I wanna say lose my sight, but I've become in my older age really claustrophobic of so many things ⁓ I've got this fear of like going deaf or losing s my sight and then just feeling like I'm boxed in. But I don't know, I might feel that way with memories too. So Tristan: Yeah. Yeah. Aleta: I mean imagine forgetting your kids. You know? Like no. I mean I mean we're already halfway there. Lucy: Fair. Tristan: Pretty sad. Lucy: Yeah. I'll go I'll be blind. I'll be blind. We're halfway. That's right. That's right. Okay. Last one. I I think you'll like this one. Tristan: Mm-hmm. Lucy: Would you rather Alita pick these. Would you rather be in a zombie apocalypse or a robot apocalypse? Ooh, and why? ⁓ Tristan: I'm gonna have to go zombie because I feel like I don't think I'd survive either, to be honest, but I think I would have more fun up until the point that I kick the bucket in a zombie apocalypse. Lucy: Ha ha ha ha. Tristan: Cause robots are scary, but zombies could ⁓ potentially be a little fun, maybe. I I s I say that now, but like an actual zombie apocalypse, I just give up and and curl into a ball and not do anything. Lucy: ⁓ I've seen your zombie skits. ⁓ my gosh, they're a joy. Like the the asthma inhaler. Like it was just this one has asthma. I we we try to research. I mean, we know a lot about you guys already, but I was like, okay, how far can I dig on Tristan? And I was going through them and I saw the the zom I was like, these are so good. All right, Alita. Tristan: Mm. Yeah. Mm. Aleta: Ha ha ha. Tristan: Yeah. Mm-hmm. I love it. I love it. Aleta: Yeah, I think robot actually, because I think zombies are scarier, but we kind of already are starting the robot apocalypse, honestly. Tristan: Right? Aleta: ⁓ So ⁓ yeah. The Cyberman. ⁓ Lucy: Yep. It's going down. It's going down. I Yeah, Doctor Who. Have you ever watched Doctor Who, Tristan? Tristan: I haven't I've seen clips of it and it looks really good, so I'm gonna have to check it out. I do, I love sci fi. Lucy: Do you like sci-fi? ⁓ Watch Doctor Who. Okay, with all of your free time. Okay, Aleta: Ha ha ha Tristan: Yeah. Lucy: and then for me, I'm gonna say robot apocalypse as well. Because ⁓ I don't know, I like zombie films in TV and I shouldn't because they traumatize But it's like watching a train wreck and you just can't stop. Tristan: Yes. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Lucy: So I just know how I would be. I would just I would just take myself out. I'd be like I'm done. I'm done. Okay. Well, we're gonna get into the meat and potatoes here. Do you feel nice and loose, Tristan: Yep. I'm out of here. Lucy: ready questions? Okay, did you hear the part where Declan said you broke him in? ⁓ Aleta: Ha ha ha. Tristan: ⁓ yeah, let's do it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I ⁓ I cackled pretty hard at that. That was funny. Lucy: He he had his little teacup, he was just like, I was Roman. Tristan: I know. He said it so slyly. So sly. Lucy: ⁓ my goodness, it was the best. Okay. Hmm, we're getting serious. Here we go. Alrighty. So Tristan, we know this gets asked of you at the beginning of every interview, but what got you into acting specifically? Tristan: All right. Hmm. You know, I I always grew up in a big like ⁓ movie watching household. So I was always big into like movies and T V shows. And then I hated school with a burning, burning passion in my body. So I like, Okay, this isn't gonna work. I can't. I cannot finish school. ⁓ so then, you know, like COVID happened and ⁓ The school kind of just kicked the bucket and went online. So I was like, well, what am I gonna do? and I just wanted to live life on my own terms and do whatever it is that I truly wanted to do. and so I really thought about it and I was like if I could be anything, I would I'd be an actor. I'd be in movies. That sounds like a lot of fun. ⁓ and now here we are about four years later, might say. It's working somewhat. ⁓ Aleta: Yeah. Lucy: That is amazing. I love to hear that. Go ahead. Alita. Aleta: Okay. ⁓ we find it so interesting how different actors approach character development in order to bring the role to life. How do you go about preparing for a role? Tristan: Hmm. I think I think it it varies depending on the role. I I there are like three to four things that I make sure I do across all characters. The a big one for me is music. ⁓ I'll make a playlist for each character that I can based off specific scenes that I can listen to before going into that scene just to 'cause for me it's like a energy headspace thing that I like to make sure of. ⁓ and then, you know, obviously reading the script and making sure I don't forget my lines and get fired. ⁓ And then also what I like to do, I'm gonna see if I can it's around here somewhere. I have like a character journal of just characters that I'll just write any and everything about and then I'll print out like little pictures like a mood board. ⁓ I'll have to find that and show you. But yeah, those are my big three and then the other ones I just hope pray that Aleta: Cool. Ha ha. Tristan: it works out. ⁓ Lucy: ⁓ that's that's one of the questions. Can can I can I ask it please? Yes Okay, so we did see on Kathy Mill's interview you did talk about this. You spoke about ⁓ the playlist and that intrigued both of us so much. Do you like what's on Roman's playlist? Aleta: Sure. We were gonna ask later. Tristan: Mm-hmm. Roman. Roman is probably still my favorite character playlist that I've made. ⁓ so there's stuff that you'd know, like Arctic Monkeys, Chase Atlantic, like a darker seductive type of music, but I also got big into like Russian rap. which I I did not think would go so hard, but it slaps. ⁓ It ⁓ I wish I could like tell you the titles of the songs, but it's all in Russian, so Lucy: Okay. Well what can you give us well, okay, two questions. One, do you have like a Spotify playlist so that you could just share it with everybody? Tristan: Yeah. I do. I do hold up, let me I'm gonna pull up pull it up real quick and tell you how long it is. It is it is four hours long. Lucy: Yes. I'm totally serious. I'm t the the fandom will listen. my god. I I'm not I'm not gonna say you should, but if you feel compelled, there would be a lot of people who would listen who would love to listen at that. So Tristan: So there's plenty in here. ⁓ yeah, I w I would love to share this. Again, like the first I don't know if you can see the first like twelve songs are not even in English, but that's okay. ⁓ Lucy: Wow. What is like that's okay if we just you know. ⁓ I was gonna say what is your like top Roman song if you were to pick? Like what is the Roman theme song? Tristan: Hmm Can I play it for like five seconds? 'Cause I I I know Lucy: Yes. Aleta: We're not manetized. Lucy: Yeah, we are not. Tristan: I know I'm used to like YouTube brain or like any ⁓ little bit music and I'm YouTube does not like. It is ⁓ Is this one? This sounds very creepy. It'll get started. ⁓ Lucy: Okay. Tristan: We fast forward. Lucy: We're excited. Tristan: This is a very long song now that I'm looking at it, it's like seven minutes, but eventually he gets to like speaking Russian. ⁓ And I don't know what it was about that song, but it just like it got me wired in. Yeah. Aleta: Ha ha ha. In the zone. Lucy: Okay, bare minimum I need a screenshot of just that one. If you don't if you don't share the whole playlist. I'm just I'm thinking of the fandom here. I just know what they want. That's right. ⁓ Aleta: Ha ha ha. Tristan: Okay. Yeah. You're looking out. You're looking out. Aleta: thinking edits to the songs on that playlist. Lucy: Yeah, that was that was the other thing I was going to say is they would be used a lot, I'm sure. Tristan: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yeah. ⁓ yeah. Lucy: Okay. ⁓ If could choose any film, which one would you most like to been in and which role? Tristan: Hmm. Okay, I have two answers. I'm gonna cheat a little bit and also include a TV show. Number one, this is gonna be such like a boy answer, but Spider-Man. I if I could be anything, I'd be Spider-Man. ⁓ that would just be so cool. Second would be ⁓ Teen Wolf and I'd probably ⁓ r ⁓ replace myself ⁓ with Styles and I would take Styles ⁓ Styles' role. ⁓ would be awesome. Lucy: You could pull off styles. As I said, I've seen the content creation. You would be you would I I love I love Dylan O'Brien and I love Teen Wolf. He really is. Okay. Tristan: Yeah. ⁓ he's the best. Aleta: Right. It's a little more serious one. ⁓ do you ⁓ yourself emotionally from the trauma that your characters experience? Tristan: Mm. Mm, that's a good question. You know, I think I think at the end of the day I I consistently remind myself to not take things too too seriously. ⁓ like at the end of the day, remind myself that I'm just an actor. I'm just blank pretend. I don't have to go full full method. when I first started out, I would if there was a a super emotional scene or anything like that, I would pull from things in my real life. ⁓ which it can work. It can get you to that, you know, place, but it's not sustainable to do for twelve hours a day, you know, for days on end. ⁓ so I was like, Okay, I need to figure something else out. ⁓ and so I think just having empathy for the character, like deep empathy for what they're going through, but still keeping it as like a a third person point of view for me is very important. ⁓ to you know, kinda cause even if your bot even if you know it's not real, your body can't really tell the difference. So if you're going to that place consistently, it can wear on your body. So I just try to like I said, constantly remind myself to just keep it, keep it separate. Aleta: Yeah, I think that must be hard to do. Lucy: Very good. Tristan: Yeah, it can be, for sure. For sure. Some some days after set you need just like ten minutes to just sit and decompress and be like, All right, I'm back to back to Tristan. Okay. Go go home, get dinner, pretend like nothing happened. Yeah. Aleta: Ha ha ha. Lucy: ⁓ my gosh. Aleta: Ha ha ha ha. And ⁓ how do you navigate the boundary between it's a similar sort of a thing, between your personal identity and the psychology of your characters? And is there a role that particularly stayed with you after you were done filming? Tristan: You know, I like to think that every role stays with me in a in a certain way. ⁓ Aleta: Mm. Tristan: I like to ⁓ to take certain from from characters that can, you know, benefit me. Like I think ⁓ a big of ⁓ Roman ⁓ was kind of just being I I think confidence is the wrong word, but being comfortable ⁓ Every answer I'm thinking of sounds pretentious. ⁓ But he he he was very like powerful person, but it it wasn't like a corruptive type of power. He was secure and Aleta: Mm-hmm. Tristan: comfortable in it and kinda ⁓ you ⁓ so I think a b a big thing just, you know, pulling from Roman like a just the confidence and like an ease, ⁓ that I felt while I was playing Roman that I like, well I would love to feel like this all the time. That would be great. Just to Aleta: Mm-hmm. Tristan: feel in control and if I'm not in control, having enough control to be okay with not being in control. ⁓ That was a lot of words. Aleta: Mm-hmm. Tristan: Sorry. Aleta: ⁓ Tristan: ⁓ Lucy: So follow up question to that, because that's actually fascinating to me. So if you don't like, like how did you prepare yourself to kind of play him because you said, you know, I wish I felt like that in my, you know, normal life. And and I think about that, like if I were to ever try to do anything like that, how hard that would probably be if you're not nat I don't know, do you have to naturally feel that way to do that? Tristan: Mm-hmm. Yeah. think ⁓ each I play I can find ⁓ similarities in some sort of a sense. You know, I have to relate them to ⁓ me a person or I just won't be truthful. ⁓ so are parts of Roman that I can pull out ⁓ in life when I need to. ⁓ but far as like just the constant state of being of like comfortability and ⁓ I want to say control, 'cause I'm not a controlling person. ⁓ And I also don't want say this either, because this may come across wrong, but just a more like dominant energy, but in a healthy way, in a secure, comfortable way. ⁓ that I don't have to pull from. I can just kinda remain, if that makes any sense. Lucy: Makes total sense and it did not come off wrong. ⁓ Aleta: Ha ha ha. Lucy: Yeah. ⁓ Okay. ⁓ Do you have any rituals that practice you ⁓ on before you get in front of the camera? Tristan: Well, one, like I said, definitely music before any and every scene, some type of music. And then I think just a lot of like I'll I'll meditate and stretch before ⁓ being pulled to set. Or at least I'll try to. Most some days it'll be five AM and they're like, All right, we need you right away. And I'm like, ⁓ okay. ⁓ but yeah, like just relaxing my body and mind as much as I can. ⁓ 'cause for me that's the biggest thing. If I get on camera and I'm not relaxed, ⁓ I'll just be stiff and like you know, you can tell. Lucy: Fair. Okay. What has been and you might have answered this on some lives before, but we'll ask it again. What has been the most physically or mentally challenging scene that you've ever had to shoot? Tristan: name at least t twenty seven. ⁓ yeah, ⁓ I'll I'll I'll you couple. Aleta: Ha ha. Lucy: Give us a couple. Aleta: Ha ha ha ha. Tristan: There's yeah I'll start with ⁓ bound first of all. there ⁓ the scene where ⁓ Roman confesses his love to Shane. ⁓ for like the first time, like the big moment after he ⁓ the the whole thing happened with his father. ⁓ I don't know what it was about that night. I think it may have been because we shot that scene at three in the morning after our longest day yet, after like being in the sun all day as well. I just couldn't get there emotionally. I was like I just couldn't, you know, like summon the energy. And so we did a few takes where I was just like suffering through it. And then You know, me and Declan kinda took a break and I was like ⁓ I talked to him and I was like, I feel like I suck right now. He's like, No, not at all ⁓ And I was like, You're lying to me. ⁓ But no, he he Lucy: Ha ha ha ha. Tristan: actually helped a lot and like just relax, don't try to force anything, just whatever comes, comes. And so then we then I finally did the scene to where I did a little bit of acting. But that one was tough. ⁓ I did ⁓ ⁓ I don't know how profane I can be on here, but I did a sex scene ⁓ in a freezing ⁓ Okay, good. ⁓ In a Lucy: You can be perfrained. Yeah. Tristan: freezing cold pool. ⁓ In January, ⁓ full full sex scene, full humping, kissing, moaning, ⁓ groping, all the above. ⁓ and it's hard to be sexy when you're freezing to death. ⁓ so know, I was trying to to talk normally, but I was like whole body shivering. ⁓ Please me out of here. ⁓ and then there are other ones, ⁓ you know, where any I love my sleep, so if it runs to like late at night after a long day, I have I'll ⁓ probably drink more coffee than any human being should just to just to power through. ⁓ Lucy: Was the scene okay, and I'm I know it is, I'm just having you confirm for me. The I love you scene, he ⁓ gets pissed, right? And you slam down ⁓ the glass, right? The wine glass like you're mad. Or that that not that scene? Tristan: No, that was that no, that was the exact same like setup and like room. but I think that one was during the day and that was more of like a sexy moment and then the one the one we filmed at like three in the morning was like the the crying ⁓ soppy one before it got into the good stuff. Lucy: Yes. Yeah. I'm gonna get yelled at for like messing that up by people, but that's okay. I've watched Bound a lot of times, but I was just like ⁓ I was like, is that the one? I don't know. I really liked scene. I think a lot of people did. So yeah, where you were just like, BAM ⁓ It just came across really well. Tristan: Yeah. Aleta: Ha ha ha Tristan: That one was fine. Yeah. Mm-hmm. And we only had one shot at that too, so I was so nervous. Because it was we only had one vase. ⁓ and so they were like, We need you to throw it right here, right on the spot. Like, no pressure. Geez, okay. No. Aleta: Ha ha ha. Lucy: Actually my next question, like d did you have multiple takes, but clearly not. ⁓ Tristan: Nope. Just the one. Yep. Just the one. And then we did it. And I looked around and was like, was that good? You're like, yes. Lucy: It was so good. It was so good. Okay, what are the differences in preparing for a vertical versus more traditional film and TV? Tristan: It was fun. It was a lot of fun. Hmm. You know, for me, not that many, 'cause I like to treat verticals seriously. even though they can be, you know, cheesy in nature. it's still what I love to do, so I like to take them seriously. I will say I probably don't go as into depth with verticals, not via a lack of care, just a lack of time. 'Cause a lot of times I'll get casted and then they're like, Yeah, we shoot in a week and I'm like, ⁓ okay, cool. ⁓ and there's so much dialogue, like we're shooting like fifteen pages a day, that it it'll be too much to jumble around, so I'll just read the sides on the day and be like, okay, I'm doing this today, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. ⁓ so there's a little bit more of an ease with with verticals than with film just 'cause there's not as much time. Lucy: Hmm. Okay, totally fair. And is it true that just really in verticals it's more fast paced, but then when you get to do traditional, it's a little more easygoing, like in the sense of like you get more time at least? Tristan: Yeah, I would say I mean it it obviously depends, but sometimes I and I've only done three, but filming verticals can be ⁓ tougher than, you know, like a bigger budget film. Just because on a film you at least get time to sit around and lollygag 'cause have so much stuff to set up. You can sit in your trailer. but verticals you'll go get like a ⁓ granola bar and then they'll be, all right, we need you. I'm like, okay, I have thirty seconds to breathe. All right. ⁓ Lucy: Fair. All right. ⁓ Aleta: Ha Yeah, we've seen Tristan: Yeah. Aleta: several people describe it as acting boot camp, basically. Like ⁓ Tristan: Yeah yeah. That's a good way to put it. Yeah. That's exactly right. Aleta: ⁓ with all that you have accomplished so far at such a young age, have you encountered much criticism along the way? And if so, how do you cope with it? Tristan: You know, there has been some. ⁓ I've kind of always been a pretty self-assured person, so it's never really bothered me unless it's come from my inner circle. ⁓ just because you know, people on the internet don't really know you. So if have an opinion of you, Aleta: Mm. Tristan: ⁓ it's not ⁓ accurate one. ⁓ so there there was criticism when I like very started out before it was ⁓ stuff started working and it was like, you know, what are you doing? Like this is never gonna blah blah blah. ⁓ And then specifically when Bound came out, started to receive some criticism, we all know why, ⁓ From stupid people who are entirely too judgmental and concerned about th the way two people love each other when there's so many more problems that they should be focused on in the world. ⁓ so there was a little bit of that, but I had already prepared for that, and I had also already prepared that it the the people who would identify with the story and love the story are much more important than the people who would like hate on the story. So Lucy: That's so true. I love that. We're a queer podcast, so yes. ⁓ Tristan: Yeah. Yes. Yes. Aleta: Mm-hmm. ⁓ Lucy: Okay. ⁓ So we know before really took off for you. You did mention You've been a content creator for quite a few years. It's been about four years, right? Maybe five? Okay. What made you want like what made you just go, I'm just gonna do this. I'm gonna do this now. Tristan: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Mm-hmm. ⁓ that's a good question. I again it happened during COVID, I think, and I just always felt a ⁓ To just be an entertainer in some way, just be creative in some way. so I had watched a lot of YouTube, probably entirely too much YouTube, you know, on social media a lot, looked up to some creators, ⁓ and I was you what, gonna try it. I would like to be just like these and maybe ⁓ use it to get into the acting industry. Maybe it help. ⁓ so I started putting together very awful, bit very, very, very awful comedy situation. biscuits in my bedroom and it took a lot it took three and a half years I'd say till I was decent at content just from studying, making something, it getting no views, and then just rinse and repeating like a madman. Lucy: My qu here I have a brand sorry, I'm deviating. I did this with Declan. Tristan: No, I love it. ⁓ Lucy: Apologies. Okay, just out of curiosity, Aleta: Ha ha. Lucy: so because I I did do the little stalker, I'm just gonna research him a little and I was going back to your older ones and I was like, He you still had quite a bit of views and and and likes. Is that like after you got big do you think and then people like went back to your catalogue to see your old ones? Tristan: That definitely did happen a lot 'cause I I go through comments quite a bit. just to not even in like a vain way of like, what are people saying about me? But I I love responding to the comments and like I think content creators get big and they forget who made them big and who gives them money. ⁓ and I never want to be like that. I always wanna interact and you know have fun with the people that watch my stuff. So I I was going through the comments and I scrolled all the way back to my first video and it was just a flood of new comments like who's here you know after ⁓ this video dropped or blah blah. I'm like y'all scrolling all the way to the bottom? That's not good. Aleta: Ha ha ha. Ha ha ha ⁓ Tristan: ⁓ Scroll back up. ⁓ Yeah exactly. ⁓ That should be buried. That's for a reason. ⁓ Lucy: You're like, I don't want you to see that. I love that. ⁓ my goodness. Okay. I do to say before I move on, I do have a favorite skit, which is the newer one you did, the ⁓ overstimulated girlfriend. Just ⁓ I am s ⁓ serious. That one was ⁓ I was like, is accurate. How did know? Tristan: Yeah. Yeah. ⁓ Lucy: ⁓ Aleta: Mm. Lucy: You clearly have been there. ⁓ Okay. Has it been releasing new content consistently for this long? Because you've been doing it a long time. How do you stay focused on that, especially because now you're acting a lot more? Tristan: Yeah. Yeah. ⁓ Yeah, it you know, it's once you get going it kinda feels like a treadmill you can't get off. ⁓ which sometimes can be a struggle, not because I don't like doing it anymore, but I think ⁓ with content creation, it should kind of evolve and you should be doing different things. So I think that's kind of where I'm at now is especially with acting picking up, is I would kinda like to blend the two together better, whether it's like filming, you know, short films, feature films, little cinematic stuff. ⁓ still keeping the comedy aspect, but prioritizing the acting while keeping up with the content, I think is where I'm at now. It it is tough though. Like when I'm on set, unless it's like vertical 'cause they are heavy into the social media aspect. I'm just away from social media completely. And then I have to ⁓ recheck in and like world, I'm back Lucy: Yeah. Tristan: ⁓ Aleta: Yeah. Lucy: So, one another little not question that's on here and I'll take it out if we if we have to, but are you still gonna move to LA, you think? Tristan: You know, so I have been in a war with myself over moving to New York, ⁓ or Atlanta. ⁓ Those are the three biggest acting hubs. I have friends in each. ⁓ I'll be filming in New York for quite a while, so I'm kinda d ripping hair out of my head, being like, which one do I do? 'Cause I they all sound nice. They all are expensive, so I'd you know, they they're gonna be pricing anywhere. So there's not like anything logistical that I can really think about. It's really just wherever I feel called to. ⁓ and I still don't know where that is. So Lucy: I only ask because you know, how we started. I'm like, well if you move to LA, you could pull all like the BL boys and do little content creations. Add Tristan: Y you know you know what's funny is I ⁓ I was talking with Declan not too ago and I was like what if we just did like a BL boy meetup? Like all of us. Just go and talk and meet up. ⁓ So I don't know when that could happen. I guess when I get my butt to LA. ⁓ but that would be really cool. That would fun. Lucy: It would be so cool. And then you'd freak if you if you well, if you guys went on like a big live or something, you would just make Tristan: Yes. Lucy: have heart attacks. It would ⁓ Exactly. It would be amazing. ⁓ Tristan: ⁓ the internet. ⁓ be cool. Yeah. Aleta: Yeah. Have you met any of the others besides Declan? Tristan: No, I've actually Yeah, no. I I did, I believe, like a chemistry read with Andrew. and then I've texted Evan, me and him, ⁓ 'cause I I know he kinda goes back and forth from LA to New York. so I'd love to to hang with him and you know, a any of them I'd love to meet. They all seem amazing. Yeah. Aleta: ⁓ Yeah, they're all lovely. Lucy: They really, really are. Okay. Have you had any crazy fan moments yet? Tristan: ⁓ not in person. ⁓ my my DMs can get pretty interesting. ⁓ Aleta: Mm. Tristan: Gotten some some some interesting DMs. ⁓ in person, all of my experiences, and it's only been ⁓ it been that much that I get recognized, but when I do get recognized in public, it's usually like the sweetest angel on earth. ⁓ and I I've I sometimes I feel like more of a fangirl that I'm recognized. I'm like, You recognize me? ⁓ Do you want to take a picture? Aleta: Ha ha ha. Tristan: ⁓ so no. ⁓ in person it's been lovely. DMs, ⁓ some of them I've had to But just be like, okay. And then Dere. Yeah. Yeah. Aleta: Blocked. Tristan: ⁓ Yeah. Lucy: I am so sorry you deal with any of that, by the way, because I know you're not alone. Tristan: That's all right. Yeah. I was about to say I feel like the entire vertical space and honestly any person in the the public eye, so to speak, is it it's part of the job, you know. Lucy: Yeah, Aleta: It is, but we really hate how disrespectful people can be. That's ⁓ Tristan: ⁓ yeah, they can be. But you just gotta laugh and move on and you know, like you said, hit the block button. Mm-hmm. Mm yeah. Aleta: Yeah. Yep. Lucy: That's right. Aleta: What was it like jumping from traditional film to verticals? Tristan: It was for mmm as far as like I love that verticals have just given actors more work. ⁓ So for me I was like, okay, I don't entirely know what this is or where it's going, but I'm working. ⁓ you know, I'm I'm doing the thing, which is cool. It was an adjustment, getting used to the to the fast pace of it and the the different style of script, ⁓ also like the different way of shooting. I was just like, Okay, it's not the way we usually do things, but I'll you know, I'm I'm on board. ⁓ and then, you know, when they come out, I've been fortunate enough that I've been pretty proud of any any vertical I've done. So I can only speak positively about the experience overall. Lucy: You actually have had really, really good ones. Like, yeah, you really I've s I've seen them all. We we both watched ⁓ Camp Nowhere, right? Am I saying it right? Evergreen? That's a movie in the eighties or nineties, just as an FYI. I watched that when I was ten. but yeah, Camp Evergreen. That was really good. I like that. And then playing dirty and then bound Tristan: Good. Yeah. Aleta: Cap Evergreen. Tristan: Yeah. Aleta: Ha ha ha. Lucy: There just there's so much to gush about with bound. So yeah. That's right. Aleta: Mm-hmm. Tristan: Yeah, that one's the classic. Aleta: Well, speaking of Camp Evergreen, we've seen you play some guitar. Do you sing as well? And do you think you'd ever want to go further with that? Tristan: Yes. You know, I don't think anyone watching this or either of you would ever want to hear me sing. But ⁓ I I don't think I'm a awful singer, so never say never. I would love to like write a song just for the creative fulfillment of it. will I ever get there yeah, yeah, I don't know. I might just stick to guitar and writing some guitar stuff for films. But sh if my voice magically improves, then I would love to write a song. Aleta: Ha ha. Lucy: Very cool. Well, we know you enjoy reading books because you've talked about that on your lives. What is your absolute favorite one and why? Tristan: Yes. Ooh, okay. I don't think I'll be able to pick a favorite one, so I'm gonna pick recent favorite ones. I just finished the third book ⁓ of a trilogy called the Red Rising ⁓ trilogy. ⁓ it's like fantasy cool awesomeness. ⁓ to put it very ⁓ y ⁓ barbarically, but Aleta: Like that. Tristan: ⁓ It though the world building and the characters, it's phenomenal. ⁓ so that was what I most recently finished. I also read Green Lights, which is Matthew McGonney's like autobiography, which is hilarious, but also very like valuable for for acting. also the I'm on the fourth book, actually just bought it yesterday, ⁓ of the corrupt series by Penelope Douglas. That's probably my favorite like romance Ever read. Very good. And then I just bought another book per a friend's recommendation around here somewhere. I have books like scattered about. I wish you could see. ⁓ called Lucy: Ha ha ha ha. Tristan: Dark Window, think it is, ⁓ which is like ⁓ fantasy gothic ⁓ romance. ⁓ So I'm excited to start that one. Lucy: Very cool. I think it's really neat that you read Penelope Douglas. I've read some of her work. Yeah, she is really talented. Yeah, you seem kinda like a mix of like kind of everything. So romance, fantasy, but then, you know, biographies as well. Tristan: She's great. Mm-hmm. Yeah, I try. I try to to try to dabble. Most recently I've just been doing fantasy and romance, though I can't be bothered with like the the nonfiction Lucy: You need to escape, you know, and that's why a lot of us to read, so Aleta: Yeah. Tristan: Yeah, exactly. Yeah. That's exactly right. Lucy: Okay, I'm gonna skip mine, Alita. Go and do yours. Aleta: ⁓ how would your closest friends describe what you do and how does it differ from what your parents think you do? Lucy: Ha ha ha. Tristan: ⁓ so my friends, ⁓ pretty ⁓ They're pretty knowledgeable about what it is that I do and what goes into it, just because they've been friends are a huge part of my life. ⁓ and they're a big reason why I do what I do. ⁓ so they've kind of always been with me throughout the process. I literally have a friend who I try my best to bring with me to every single set just to watch and, you know, have fun. So they have a good grip on it. My parents, they are supportive. But ⁓ they don't really know what the heck is going on at the same time. They're just like, ⁓ you're filming a movie and making money? Okay. Aleta: Ha ha ha ⁓ Tristan: Cool, I guess. ⁓ You know, go go do your thing. ⁓ but yeah, my friends, I also bug them all the time, like, Hey, do you wanna help me film a skit? Or like, Hey, you help me with this audition? ⁓ so they're ⁓ all too familiar with it, much to their dismay. ⁓ Aleta: Hm. No. Lucy: I'm sure they love it. I'm sure it's really fun. Yeah. Aleta: Yeah. Tristan: Sometimes. Aleta: Do you have any fun we got some good stuff from Declan with this one? Do you have any fun behind the scenes stories from any of your projects that you can share? Tristan: So many. Aleta: Ha ha ha. Tristan: So many. I'm gonna try to think of stuff from bound. ⁓ just because there was so much. ⁓ There's a from the boxing ⁓ day, from the pool day as well. ⁓ the whole day as is as a whole was very fun because we did all the boxing stuff in one day. ⁓ and ⁓ There was there was a bunch of like extras surrounding the ring, just like screaming in silence, just because they couldn't like actually scream, ⁓ because we're Aleta: Yeah. Tristan: like ⁓ delivering lines. ⁓ so I'd like trying to be all mean and stuff, and I'd be, you know, bouncing and looking at Declan, but then behind I'd just see like a crowd going crazy, saying nothing. ⁓ Like I'm trying my best not to laugh. ⁓ that whole day was an ⁓ absolute blast. ⁓ And Declan like killed it as well. He he was saying that like, you know, Declan's a lover, not a fighter. ⁓ so he was like he was like, You're gonna excuse my French, he was like, You're gonna beat my ass. Like, how is this gonna work? ⁓ I was like, No, no, you're good. ⁓ so that whole thing was fun. I did I did elbow him in the head one time. ⁓ yeah, I like tried to go over his head and I elbowed his head and I was like, ⁓ Are you okay? Are you good? ⁓ Aleta: Ha ha Tristan: But yeah, that day was so much fun. So tiring, but so much fun. Lucy: Very cool. So Bound and My Hot Rival was wildly successful for a vertical. why like what do you think it was about like what do you think it was about that project that set it apart from others like it? Tristan: Ooh, I think one, the way it was shot was like beautiful. 'Cause it was shot horizontally and vertically and it was lit. Is that the right way to say that? Lit? Yeah. ⁓ Lit Aleta: Yeah. Tristan: like a movie. You know, it was kind of like and atmospheric. But I also think a a huge part of ⁓ which I haven't experienced this on another vertical, not even playing dirty, ⁓ was it was ⁓ so unbelievably collaborative. ⁓ like Amanda, the first of all, she's phenomenal, best director I've ever worked with across and traditional ⁓ I was singing her praises. Endlessly, but she had so many ideas that she would offer because she was also an actor. ⁓ I'd be ⁓ I would have never thought of that. Thank you. I'm stealing that, first all. ⁓ Aleta: Ha ha Tristan: and then me and Declan, there were some things that you know, some things we just didn't agree with. Like I don't think he my character would say that like that or do that like that. so we kinda as we were going, ⁓ more or less rewrote the thing of like how we we saw it best. And how we saw the characters. And again, Declan had so many strong ideas for Shane. And also with Roman, ⁓ he had ideas, and we were just constantly bouncing, bouncing, bouncing. ⁓ so I think that made it as good as it could have possibly been, because everyone was like, you know, what if we do this? What if we try that? Or I feel like Roman would do this. ⁓ we also prioritized like the we prioritized the audience that we knew was going to care about it, and we really cared about showing not just like the thing that sells it, which is the sexiness and you know, the the raunchiness, but also the love story to it was like a big part ⁓ that we wanted to make sure sold, you know, 'cause it it all happens so quickly. So it's like how are these two people gonna fall in love so quick? How can we make that work? So hopefully we did a good job. Aleta: Did. Lucy: You you really did. You did a great job. And we told ourselves when it was so quick we were when we were recapping your episode, I was like, I'm just imagining that they Roman just knew of him. Like they just knew of each other in the circles ⁓ and so he was already falling for him from afar, was what I thought. Tristan: Yeah. Yes. Yeah, I was about in in our heads they had been like boxing rivals for quite some time, so and then it just picked up. Yeah. Yeah. Lucy: I like that. You know, and I've actually heard this from other actors where they had very collaborative directors. Like I've heard this about JP, who did Water Boy, Stable Boy, all of those. Like she's very open. We've heard this from Evan before with Die, who did Straight Until He Kissed Me. And I feel like I'm noticing a pattern now as a fan that apps and directors that are open to this. Tristan: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Lucy: Those are the shows that are lasting and that people are actually enjoying long term because I love all of the queer verticals, but there is only a group of them that I will rewatch. And it's all of those that at least I've heard. Tristan: Yes. Right, yeah. Yeah, I think it is the collaborative aspect, absolutely. Yeah. Aleta: What are your long term goals for your career? ⁓ can you paint us a picture of what that might look like five or ten years from now? ⁓ Tristan: Hmm, I think I would love to be in an offer only actor. ⁓ which is just I don't have to audition anymore 'cause I love auditioning but it also sucks sometimes 'cause I just want to be on set doing the thing. ⁓ So I'd love to be in a position of ⁓ decent notoriety to where I can just be I can have my pick scripts, have them have like four laid out on the table and be like, what do I want to do next? ⁓ Aleta: Okay. Tristan: really just ⁓ I all that I ⁓ want I don't think I want to to ⁓ breach my ambitions beyond just consistent high quality work. ⁓ ⁓ and whatever I need to do to get there, whether it's content creation or ⁓ you know, is cementing myself more in the vertical space if that continues to take off. However that may look, I'm open to adapting to that. Just the main thing for me is consistent work that I'm proud of and that is seen hopefully by a lot of people. Lucy: Totally fair. Aleta: Yeah, that's kind of the dream being able to pick what you'd like. Instead of what you have to do to pay Tristan: Yeah. Yeah. That'd be awesome. Aleta: rent. ⁓ Tristan: ⁓ Exactly. That's exactly right. Aleta: And are you able to share some of your upcoming projects with us that you're excited about? Tristan: Yes. So I have three Yeah, three main ones that are upcoming. one being Julie, which is a horror film. I play unfortunately a douchebag. ⁓ He is not a good guy, but it is very like ⁓ scream early Halloween type of like slasher grounded, ⁓ character focused, but it's it was shot very well and I think the cast is great. ⁓ Also The Bard, which is a f a historical film about the ⁓ first black man in the United States to publish a book. ⁓ which is just like a beautiful story. Unfortunately, ⁓ I also play a douchebag in one. ⁓ there seems to be a pattern here. ⁓ Lucy: Ha ha ha. Tristan: But that one I'm I'm really excited to see and then the one that I'm filming currently is The God of the Woods, which I am over the moon about, which probably probably won't be out for quite some time. but yeah, I'm I'm scared to say too much because I think Netflix will ⁓ literally cut my head off. ⁓ but ⁓ Aleta: Mm. Yeah, I know. Yeah. Tristan: yeah, it's gonna it's already I know it's gonna be so good. Lucy: I'm excited for that one. I really am. I want to read the book now knowing, you know, it's Yeah. Or I haven't read the book yet, so are you a douchebag in this one? Tristan: Book's good as well, yeah. No, thankfully. ⁓ he Aleta: Ha ha ha. Lucy: Yay. Tristan: he has he has a good heart overall in the book. ⁓ he he does fall into some ⁓ some suspicion ⁓ ⁓ certain ⁓ he did things or not remains to be seen. ⁓ but overall he's just a hippie trying to have good time. ⁓ Lucy: Sorry. I Tristan: Mm-hmm. Lucy: ⁓ of reasons that I liked Camp Evergreen is I just I just ⁓ I was this is just feels like Tristan's Tristan: ⁓ Lucy: vibe. I I know that's probably not you, but like maybe it is. And I ⁓ Aleta: Huh. Tristan: Yeah. No, yeah, Camp Evergreen I wasn't doing much acting. I was just being me. Lucy: Ha ha I was just like the guitar and like maybe barefoot, you know, and just make your own soap, you know, something's going ⁓ Tristan: Yep. Yep, exactly. ⁓ Lucy: awesome. ⁓ Okay, well I can't wait for all of those. I we will watch them all. I'll even do the horror. I like slasher long as there's like a little bit of, you know, comedy in it. I can handle it. Okay. Very cool. ⁓ All right, we're gonna head towards the end now and Tristan: Yes. Yeah, there is. There is. Lucy: Some more whimsical questions will be coming up. But maybe one of our last serious ones, if you could give ten year old Tristan any advice or encouragement about his future, knowing what you know now, what would it be? Tristan: That's good question. I think the main thing I would tell him I would tell him a c I would tell him a lot of things. I would sit down and talk to him for hours and be look, here's you gotta do. ⁓ Aleta: Ha ha ha. Lucy: Ha ha ha. Tristan: n I think main thing ⁓ Don't be so caught up on the the how you're gonna get there. Just focus on the why you want to get there. ⁓ and the rest will kinda take care of itself. It's not gonna look like what you want it to look like. It's not gonna happen as fast as you want, for sure. it's gonna be harder than you thought, but it will all be worth it and you know, getting things quickly is overrated anyway, so just stick it out. ⁓ I think There's something else I was gonna say to ten year old hypothetical me. ⁓ Lucy: Ha. Tristan: yeah, I think also make sure that ⁓ while you're you're chasing these things and trying to attain these things ⁓ and build a career, don't be afraid to enjoy life at the time and you know, say yes to hanging out with that friend, even if you may fall behind on work or go on that trip. Do what I probably wouldn't say this to ten year old me 'cause he'd be like, What are you saying? I'm gonna go play with Legos, but ⁓ Aleta: Ha ha ha. ⁓ Lucy: Ha ha ha ha. Tristan: He would ⁓ he eventually, you know, take it to heart to just in enjoy life a little more, ⁓ regardless of the outcome of things. Lucy: Very cool. ⁓ okay. This one's also me. Are there any questions you wish you were asked, but are not usually? Tristan: No, because I feel like the the one thing that I could think of is like more of like personal life questions like what kind of books do you and stuff like that. ⁓ y'all have a phenomenal job of asking those. ⁓ I I think Aleta: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. ⁓ Tristan: that, but also ⁓ What I would love to start making more content about and hopefully being asked more about is just like the nitty-gritty behind the scenes acting stuff. Like anytime my friends ask me about anything acting oriented, like, how do you shoot this or how does this work? I'm like, listen, listen here. I'm gonna about to talk your head off. ⁓ Aleta: Ha ha ha. Lucy: Ha ha ha. Tristan: just little stuff like that. I would I I just love answering. Lucy: Yeah, good to know. Aleta: Make notes and invite you back for that. Tristan: Yeah. Lucy: I know, I was I was I was going in my mind. ⁓ Aleta: Yeah, that I don't have a purple one next. It's it's yours. ⁓ Yeah, I think so. That's okay. ⁓ Lucy: are these all me? I stole everything f of hers. Okay, here we go. Tristan: Also I know I know we're getting close I know we're getting close to an hour, but like I said, I Aleta: ⁓ yeah. Tristan: I have no so ⁓ ask as many questions as you want. Lucy: Well the rest are fun ones and I don't think they'll take too long. So I think we'll still be able to honor. yeah. Okay, Alita, why don't you ask the next two? Tristan: Cool. Let's do it. Let's do it. Lucy: Because I messed things up. Sorry. ⁓ Aleta: Okay. That's alright, no worries. ⁓ We are we are so professional, it's all good. ⁓ Lucy: We've said that on every interview, so it's just gonna Aleta: I know. Well there's always something. Tristan: Yeah. Always something. Aleta: It's all right. We're having a good time. That's what it's all about. If your life had a theme song, what would it be? Tristan: Yeah. That's right. Lucy: Yeah. Tristan: You know? I'm gonna I'm gonna say this song and I don't think anyone will know it. It's a song I just discovered ⁓ recently. It's called I think it's called Ride Like the Wind. And I cannot explain why that is my life theme song. But listening to it, I'm just like, yeah, this feels right. This this is ⁓ me. I listen to it at least ten times a day. I don't know why. It's a great question. Aleta: Ha ha ⁓ Lucy: Who sings it? Tristan: Christopher Cross. It's called Ride Like the Wind. It's a good song. It's not what I typically listen to, but it's a good song. Lucy: Okay. He's gonna have a little surge, you know, in the next couple of days as everyone listens to it. ⁓ I love that. Aleta: Ha ha ha. Tristan: Yeah. Aleta: What tiny everyday thing makes a day ten percent better for you instantly? Tristan: You know, as of recently, waking up early. I used to hate being a morning riser, but now waking up early, I'm like, ⁓ this feels so much better. I actually have time. ⁓ and I've also been forced to wake up at like five A. ⁓ every day, so I'm like, okay, you know, I'll get used to it. ⁓ also for me I feel like these are such like boring answers, but exercise, I feel like, is the difference between whether I feel like I'm stress free or I feel like I'm twitching and d being crazy and super stressed out. ⁓ I think little like habits like that, like exercise, reading, journaling as well, just 'cause I have so much going on up here that if I don't get it out in a paper, I'm just gonna like disassociate mid conversation, thinking about a million different things. little things like that kinda take the take the edge off. Aleta: Ha ha ha. Mm-hmm. Lucy: Cool. Alright, I'm gonna go to your generation here and try to make it sound cool. Here we go. This was meant for Andrew and we're like we're using it on Tristan. Okay. What's a flavor combo that sounds cursed but actually slaps? Tristan: Mm-hmm. Aleta: Ha ha ha. Tristan: Ooh, you know, my friends have some crazy combos that I'm just like absolutely not. One that I will I will die on the hill is peanut butter on a burger. Aleta: Ha ha. Lucy: Really? Tristan: ⁓ it is exquisite. I don't know how to explain it. It shouldn't work. I tried it, I was like, that sounds disgusting. And now I swear by ⁓ ⁓ Aleta: It really does. I'm sorry. Tristan: No, I swear by it. It's so I don't know why it works. I don't know if it's like the saltiness of the the peanut butter, but I also love peanut butter, so that probably adds ⁓ a big ⁓ you know a big bias towards it, but y whenever y'all can y'all should try it. And then if you hate it, that's fine. You can spit it out and throw it away. ⁓ Lucy: I'll try it. I'll I'm I'm gonna try it. Aleta: If you had to write a book tomorrow, what would you write about? Tristan: You know what's crazy is I I went to the bookstore today and I was talking to my friend about this. ⁓ I would either write an autobiography, even though I've only lived twenty one years, it'd be like eighty pages long. ⁓ or ⁓ a fantasy. ⁓ kind of like ⁓ Aleta: Yeah. Tristan: Kind of like every fantasy that's being made right now. ⁓ I don't know if y'all heard of the Fourth Wing series. I say that 'cause I'm looking at it right now. ⁓ but I would love to write a fantasy story like that about some type of like magic system and going to a school, Aleta: Ha ha. Tristan: some romance in there. Call it day. That'd be awesome. ⁓ Aleta: You're speaking Lucy's language. Lucy: She knows I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna say it! I s I said it to Declan! Okay. With your free time that you have, read Zodiac Academy eventually by Suzanne Valenti. Yes. Aleta: You're gonna Tristan: I have heard of this. I I have heard it is good. I'm writing this down. Lucy: Okay. So Suzanne Valenti and Caroline Peckham, Zodiac Academy. It's it's it's torturous. It's brutal. It's ⁓ the longest, most painful journey. But there's so much Alita knows because before we started this podcast, she was reading it like with me. And we had to stop. But just saying there's a lot of ⁓ it's really like a lot of world world building. So I yeah, I think it's right up your alley. It's Aleta: Mm-hmm. Tristan: Mm-hmm. Yeah. I love that. Lucy: It's I would put it next to Fourth Wing. To me, it's better than Fourth Wing. Fourth Wing is kind of hmm, you're learning a lot about me here when I say this, but Fourth Wing is actually kind of vanilla to me. So I Zodiac yeah, Zodiac Academy is like like it's it's like yeah, if you I would put fourth wing here and then Zodiac Academy like on the ceiling. Like it's Tristan: Okay. Mm-hmm. Okay, so Zodiac Academy's good. Okay, gotcha. Aleta: Yeah. You gotta get a you gotta get a few books in to get to that point though. Tristan: ⁓ no. Lucy: Yeah, I remember you were frustrated. Well he would have to read the prequels to really get it. But we we'll stop talking about that. Anyway. Yes. It's Tristan: No I have. Yeah. I have to read that now. You sold me. I'm sold. Aleta: Ha ha ha. Lucy: so good. It's so good. ⁓ Okay. What does a perfect day look like to you? Tristan: Hmm. I think if I could have a perfect day, it would include these things. Hanging out with a group of friends. probably starting the day with like a nice breakfast breakfast, coffee. I think I'm a coffee addict, I fear. I like at night I look forward to the next morning's cup of coffee, ⁓ makes me like an old man ⁓ But I would get some coffee with some friends, then ⁓ I ⁓ I know a world where this would happen, but you know, ⁓ acting friends. ⁓ Maybe shooting some type of short film or ⁓ student or stupid comedy sketch. ⁓ and ideally we would go out, ⁓ have couple drinks. Not too many, but a couple. ⁓ And then you know what? I'm gonna end it off with we all watch fireworks. And then that is the the the most perfect day. And then I snore in bed. ⁓ Yeah. ⁓ Yeah. Lucy: Amazing. So it's like an amazing day. Aleta: Ha ha. These are a couple that we're I think gonna ask everyone. What does having a supportive fan base mean to you? Tristan: Ooh, I think I think it means everything. I think it's kind of the difference between whether you can ⁓ build this into a long term career or not. Like I don't think if my f fans per se, I hate using the word fans, fan base followers, whichever, ⁓ supporters, that's the best word. ⁓ I don't think if they were weren't the type of supporters that they were that I'd still be doing this just 'cause all that I've gotten is like love and like hope, I would say. Like when I was first starting out, I never really got like someone being like, You're never gonna make it, you should stop doing this, you suck. A lot of it was like, ⁓ I see the potential here. You should keep going, like, I'll remember you when you get famous or blah blah blah. ⁓ and the you know, I I do get some freaky DMs, but some of them are very kind and is like, ⁓ you know, your your videos are very funny or they've helped me through something, or I just love your content. so I think day to day life that makes all the difference in the world, whether my mental space is good or not, or whether a creator's mental space is good or not, even though you shouldn't rely too heavily on it, it really does make the difference 'cause it feels like one giant, massive electronic family that you can kinda share things with. Aleta: Mm-hmm. Yeah, that's how Lucy and I became friends was through the Phantoms, so Tristan: Yeah, that's I love that. ⁓ Lucy: The damn BLs just got sucked in. Aleta: You know what? It's it's there are is such an amazing group of people in this fandom who are so kind and supportive of each other and, you know Tristan: Mm-hmm. Aleta: even with us doing this, everyone that we know from like subscriber chats and things have been amazing. Like they're all they're all listening to us even when we're when we're rambling at one in the morning ⁓ and ⁓ and ⁓ getting silly. But yeah, it's it's such a wonderful group of people, I have to say. Tristan: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah. Hm. Yeah. Lucy: Yeah. We are very lucky and honestly this these interviews, they they're so excited to just Aleta: Yeah. Tristan: I Lucy: get to learn about more you, you know, from you guys. So ⁓ it's been awesome. Tristan: love that. ⁓ Aleta: Last question, what are some things that you're currently grateful for? Tristan: I'm gonna try not to say simple things. ⁓ Obviously my friends, Aleta: Mm-hmm. Tristan: I think I'm very, very grateful for. ⁓ I've never really ⁓ not to lore drop too extensively, I've never really had like ⁓ a ⁓ blood f like this is gonna sound stupid. Obviously I have blood family. All of my family for my life has been like spread out everywhere. Like I have siblings, ⁓ but they've kinda moved all around. So my friends have really kept me anchored and kept like a community around me, which I'm infinitely grateful for. ⁓ obviously grateful for acting and being able to do, you know, what I love. I'm constantly reminded like when I go to set and that I don't wanna leave, I'm like, wow, I just this is what I love to do. Even we're on our ⁓ Aleta: Mm-hmm. Tristan: thirteen and I kinda wanna go the hell home. I also at the same time don't. ⁓ So I'm very grateful for that. ⁓ also ⁓ think I'm just grateful for ⁓ a healthy body ⁓ mostly healthy mind. ⁓ I a lot of people that for granted. ⁓ and especially with all the crap that's happening in the right now, just at least being able to say that that's going right. You know, having Aleta: Mm-hmm. Tristan: ⁓ having a healthy body and a healthy mind ⁓ something I I try to my best to remain grateful for. And then also like moments like this where I get to have c cool conversations and connect with people and ⁓ I love moments like I love I love talking, I love yapping. Aleta: Mm. Lucy: Yap with us anytime. Aleta: Yeah. Lucy: ⁓ Okay, well, if Alita, you don't have anything else. I think we're gonna take it. We're gonna go. We're gonna make it. Okay. So Tristan, it has been a genuine pleasure. You made our entire year doing this. I have looked at your IMDB and I am freaking up freaking out about what the future holds for you. This just looks so exciting. And Tristan: Yeah. Lucy: I think we're just really excited to follow your career and see what you do next. So thank you. Yes! Tristan: Yay. Aleta: Well, thank you for being with us for this very special episode. We hope that you will join us again next time. Bye besties. Lucy: Bye besties. Tristan: Bye besties. Aleta: Yay! Lucy: Yay! We did it! ⁓ my gosh, I'm so proud. Tristan: Ha ha ha. Yeah. Aleta: Ha ha ha ha ha. ⁓
